Good food with a wide variety of choices

By FNN |

Bistro B's menu has a large selection. Most dishes are delicious. The prices are decent. Please keep up with good food tasting and quality and decent pricing. Food quality at Bistro B in Dallas, TX is better than that in Grand Prairie, TX. Improvement suggestion for Bistro B in Grand Prairie, TX: please make exact food items requested/ordered by customers. More than 3 times, item#94 on the menu was ordered and delivered with missing tomato/fried rice. All we ask for is to bring out the exact food items as described on Bistro B's menu. We have not yet asked for extra or additional things. Hope things will be better every single time we go back to Bistro B in Grand Prairie, TX.

Colossal Portions, Fabulous Value, Outstanding Selection

By Lu-Shien T |

From the Buy 2 Get 1 Free Pho bowls which are already large, and frightfully huge at King size, to the caramelized smokiness of the Korean Ribs, the punchy Summer Rolls and Crunchy Egg Rolls. This restaurant is well frequented by all for obvious reasons. Scan the tables around you and be inspired about what you could order. Am certain that if I asked politely, they might order it for me! The staff are peppy, patient and very accommodating. Do not forget an order of iced coffee... It is a delectable jolt! The only downside? The odd toilet with dim lighting.

Great!

By Karen B |

The crowd is mostly Asian. You have to ask for a fork. We were seated and served quickly. This is a loud, busy place. The atmosphere makes you smile. Everyone seems to be upbeat and happy. The food was unusual to me. It was good, but there were some tastes that I cannot identify. They had 4 eggrolls for $1 that were delicious! I wanted to take a few dozen home with me. I saw a large array of sushi. The menu was full of choices. They also have an extensive to go area. The prices were very reasonable. I saw quite a few people leaving with an iced beverage. While dining I could imagine I was in an Asian city far from Dallas. Oh how I wish I were...

Authentic and truly amazing tasting food!!!!

By vpj420 |

This restaurant was chosen by my wife's aunt during our trip to Dallas. At first, the location (strip mall) made my raise doubts but all was erased upon entering this establishment. This is a very bustling restaurant as it is very popular with the locals. We managed to arrive at a good time when business was just picking up. We didn't have the same waiter/waitress during our meal but that was a plus as we always had someone asking if we need something. My wife ordered the quail and some pork spring rolls. I ordered the vermicelli with chicken, and was pleased to find that they honored my request of having only white meat chicken. Some Vietnamese/Chinese restaurants do not do this. Our food was amazing. It came properly cooked, was visually appealing, and had good portions. The quail and spring rolls my wife ordered tasted phenomenal. My dish was equally as tasting. My wife's cousin ordered the Pho, which we also sampled and it too was great. This establishment even had a mini-market with various imported food and drinks. You cannot beat the value that this restaurant provides. I would highly recommend any of Bistro B's locations, and will return on our next visit.

Lots of variety - Good food

By Gwen H |

I've been here twice now. The first time I has pho and the second the Mongolian beef and a combo fried rice. I enjoyed everything but the Mongolian beef and rice was fantastic. And the egg rolls. Cheap and delish. Including drinks (so good) there are over 500 items on the menu. Service is fast. I've got to try something else.

Good Vietnamese Food

By 5016DAH |

Large restaurant in a large shopping center complex. Lots of other Vietnamese places to eat. HUGE menu with all types of Vietnamese food. Came for the Pho. Chicken broth was very good. The spring rolls were very large and fresh mint, cilantro and other ingredients. Very busy all times of day. Staff very friendly. OPEN 7 days. Plenty of parking. Good value for the large portions.

Authentic at the right price

Efficient service with a huge menu to choose from. This place is where I go for the real deal, and the best part is that is doesn't break the bank. Don't let the wacky decor and the fact that it's part of a strip mall make you stay away from here. I love this place and all the menu has to offer. This place is very busy and fast-paced, but they are open late! Plus, they have 4 eggrolls for $1---that's awesome.

If you like Vietnamese Food this must be pretty good

By thed3 |

Three of us went for dinner. It is very casual and seemed very busy. The service was good. My daughter wanted some "pho" and for us to try it. She got the pho with shrimp. My wife got the pho with beef and I got a completely different dish with shrimp. My wife could not eat her's. My daughter loved hers and I ate most of the dish I had. My wife will not return. My daughter was a repeat customer. I would return only with someone who craves pho and then only to see if there would be a dish that would be more appealing to me. I guess Vietnamese food is an acquired taste. One that my wife and I have not acquired. From the crowd it would be logical to assume that it is very authentic and very good. So if you like "pho" I would highly recommend it!

Excellent Vietnamese with Outstanding Service

By ZhuHuaLong |

I have had many bowls of Pho in my days and this place had the best Curry Chicken Pho. My coworkers took me here and the place was decorated up for Christmas. The staff was very friendly and always making sure everything was to our liking. I could really taste the coconut milk they used in the soup. If it was such a far drive from my office in downtown Dallas, I would go several times a week.

Great food!

By Mona-Lisa T |

Small gathering or big gatherings they have accommodations for all size party’s. Huge menu and food is great. Love the boba drinks.

The BEST!!

By Ram C |

Just close your eyes and point at somthing at the menu and order it. Doesn't matter what you get. IT. IS. ALL. GOOD! LOVE THIS PLACE!

Take out and delivery, too!

By alan w |

We use Bistro B all the time for fairly priced Asian delivery food. Menu can be overwhelming due to the size. Any of the shaken beef dishes, Korean dishes, and Pho we know to be excellent. We can order a lot of food for under 35.00.

Crowded and Noisy But Great Food

By tangojohnDallas |

Don't go here for a quite romantic dinner. This place is packed with mostly an asian clientele. Since it is asian food I think they know where to go. The big round tables are filled in familys sharing a dinner in traditional asian style. Everything I have tried from the huge menu has been good. I love the 25 cent egg rolls. I love the quail and the "ba luc lac" ( chunks of tender beef cooked in a wonderful garlic sauce. The boba drinks are also excellent. Usually have to wait for a table on Friday, Saturday and Sundays but the lines move fast. Never waited more than 10 minutes. Was told this is the most popular asian restaurant in Dallas.

Best Vietnamese

By djcubano |

Good service, good food. They make the most delicious egg rolls and they're only $0.25 each. The menu has clear pictures of the dishes so it's easy to order.

Very Good Value

By Randy B |

I am suspicious of any restaurant which lists 469 Vietnamese and Chinese menu items, with 369 of them marked as “chef’s recommendation” (why would anyone take a chance on the remaining hundred?) I worry that either the ingredients are likely to be frozen, fresh but out-of-date, or some of both. It’s also strange that no matter which of these dishes you order, it appears on the table in little more time than it takes your waiter to run to the kitchen, grab the plate and run back. But everything our party ordered at Bistro B was pretty darn tasty. (My vote goes to the quail. It’s on the appetizer menu, but at three for $8.99, it works for me as an entrée.) The restaurant is located on the southwest corner of Walnut and Audelia. Prices are extremely reasonable, and most of the dishes are large enough to share family style. Our party left quite well fed for less than $12 a person. It’s BYOB, which is also a big help when trying to dine on a budget. The clientele is predominately Asian, but it’s a real melting pot, with black, white, and Hispanic diners all appreciating the combination of quality and value. The place is shiny and clean-looking. The only thing that marred this impression for us was a lone cockroach dodging waiters’ feet as it struggled to cross the room. Our waiter laughed that they need a frog to eat the occasional bug. I prefer sitting as far as possible from the glare of the store-front windows. Further back, the atmosphere is a bit more subdued, and you could just as easily be in Europe or Asia as in Dallas. My preferred Asian dining experience in the Metroplex is still Empress of China, on Belt Line Road in Irving – but if you find yourself on the Dallas-Richardson line, Bistro B is definitely worth a visit.

The food is nice to eat...

By John R |

The food is nice to eat. Good texture, interesting dishes. Service, ok. The restaurant design and menu is above average. Buy 2 pho soups get one free.

Mostly good food but beware

By Glenn V |

As my title suggests, the food here is hit or miss. Make sure you order a dish that is made to order. I suggest any of the rice dishes or vermicelli noodle bowls. Do not...I repeat do not order any soup from here. I have countless friends who got the "runs" after eating Pho here. Our theory is that they leave the Pho broth sitting out all day and well you know what happens next. Most of the food is good but remember to order dishes that are made to order.....

Delicious Food

By Ping Z |

This is a place where serves yummy food. I love their rice with fish juice. Its price is reasonable and the food is very tasty. Their serving speed is fast and the waiters and waitresses over there are very friendly. Thumb up. This is indeed one of the best restaurants especially when compared to the buffet chain such as Great Wall located in Frisco. Bistro B is 1 million times better than the Great Wall in Frisco! You should give a try if you are a fan of Asian food!

Excellent, Reasonably-priced Vietnamese Food

By rucksack67 |

I’m not Vietnamese. But it’s usually a good sign when the overwhelming majority of people dining at a Vietnamese restaurant are themselves Vietnamese. The menu at Bistro B was extensive, covering practically every variety of Vietnamese food. I’m a soup lover, and wasn’t disappointed with the rice noodle with chicken and fish soup I ordered. Nutritious, healing, and yummy. Service was rapid and excellent. My table was clean and fully stocked with condiments, chopsticks, and big porcelain spoons. Very much a family place, but also popular with young couples. Given its popularity and the sizeable and growing Vietnamese community, Bistro B was bustling. There was also a takeout counter, which was doing a brisk business. Even though the place was busy, the atmosphere was still pleasant. The interior was bright and cheery, with a picture of an outdoor scene as wallpaper and various colored lamps hanging along one side of the dining area. A must for anyone living in or visiting Dallas who loves Vietnamese food.

Great service, fresh delicious products

By Jorge V |

Had a small lunch, decided to share a Pho with my girlfriend. The Pho was delicious along with the steamed dumplings and egg rolls. The waitress provided extra bowls to make sharing easier, also helps in preventing a mess. Great experience, have been a regular for 8+ years.

One of the best around

By Travelgirl2166 |

My boyfriends ex-boss had a party catered by Bistro B. all he asked about were these amazing egg rolls. So we went there and have not been disappointed. The four egg rolls for a dollar are very good. I'm glad we moved to the area. Everyone who we take there says they like it.

Never again.

By TheTraveller87 |

So here is my first 2 star review in a while. What an awful food. Super oily food, it didn't seems healthy at all. The menu did look great with more than 450 options to choose from. We ordered variety of fried rice so we could try em all but it all looked same and tasted same. The appetizer sucked as well. I could see the oil dripping off of the shrimp pancakes. I would not go there again at all. Pictures on the menu looks great but the food itself is not as good as the picture would suggest. However, even with this bad review please try it on your own and decide for yourself.

Wonderful Chinese food experience

By Kma M |

This reminds my so much of our trip to Hong Kong. Wonderful food. Very authentic with Hugh menu. Love the egg rolls. This is a must try.

Too Many Choices!! WOW!

By orr333 |

We stopped in for Pho but the menu was more like a dictionary! So many cuisines and choices. I did try the Pho and was not upset by the quality. Good stuff. My business partner had a different dish which was equally as good. The crowds here are indicative of the value and options you have along with the quality. Once served, the service was hard to come by. We wanted bubble teas and tracking down service was difficult as they are so busy. Aside from that, this was a great experience and will be on my go-to list for my business trips to Dallas from now on.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!

By mtzceci87 |

REALLY REALLY BAD SERVICE!! They took forever to take our order even though the entire staff was behind us chatting. They brought water to us and instead of handing it out just set it on the edge of the round table away from everyone! Waitress was making rounds to every table but ours. We never got refills or asked if we needed anything. I still left a good tip but I WILL NOT COME HERE AGAIN.

Usually crowded, huge menu, fair prices

By Dana M |

Going here is an experience you'll want to have, and I've been here many times. All of the food is edible, and usually tasty, but I won't say it's the best thing I've ever eaten. I really like the 2 for 1 bahn mi sandwiches at the "B" bakery/juicing place next door (owned by the same people as the Bistro). My favorite meat is the grilled pork. It is very affordable, and lots of native people approve of the authenticity of taste. If it's really crowded, your service won't be that outstanding, but it gives you more time to enjoy the festive atmosphere and interesting music selection.

A nice surprise

By JamHam |

I went with a Vietnamese friend to this local favorite. What a nice place to eat a wide variety of very tasty choices. We had two different spring rolls and shared three main courses and of course took a great deal home. Unfortunately, I don't know the names as she ordered in her native tongue but I do know that we had chicken, pork and beef. It was all delicious and I hope to return for more when back in Dallas. I truly feel that whatever you choose would be wonderful. The service was very good and no wait upon entering. I recommend giving this a try and I feel you will go back for more.

Forever customers.

By Juan S |

Food is amazing. I am a longtime customer here and my family comes at least once a month. The menu has I swear over 1000 items. We always get the egg rolls, combination pho, fried shrimp, fried riblets and avocado boba!

super good food, cheap price, nice services

By cici |

I'm keep coming back to Bistro B everytime I'm in Dallas . love the frozen eggrolls . I can buy it and put in my frig. Deep fry it when I want to. Very cheap. $20 for 80 eggrolls. You should try roated quail. Its realy good. Will come back soon.

Great restaurant with an overflowing of customers waiting

By BillSx2 |

Despite the number of customers the restaurant was amazing at getting our party of 7 a table and follow up service was wonderful. The decor and staff made us feel like we were in Vietnam. Seemed like the food just kept coming the more we ate, the more we had. Shabu Shabu and all. Overall a great experience, highly recommended.

$1 = 4 Delicious Egg Rolls!

By dancingzombie22 |

This place is wonderful and absolutely delicious!! Also they are always cranking out egg rolls hot and delicious and so cheap! The drink menu is also extensive and delicious. All of the authentic dishes including the pho are good. You can't go wrong here if you like Viet food, Asian food, and authentic food.

Fun and lively Vietnamese cafe

By farout75 |

Great food and excellent value characterize this hopping spot. It is hard to imagine getting a better meal if you want authentic Vietnamese cuisine and a lively venue. It is NOT intimate or romantic.....but it is fun, casual, and consistently provides prompt and attentive service. Top it off with their super cheap prices and the chance to bring your own bottle and enjoy free set-up service and you have a great combination. Be careful though, the portion sizes are large and it is hard not to over-order! Friday and Saturday nights they fill up early and stay full till 2 a.m. A full range take-out menu is also available.

Various choices

By Quang Kiet Le |

This restaurant was amazing! Great service, friendly staff, delicious dishes, various choices, great location! One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Dallas so far.

VV Stands for Vietnamese Value

By ICON |

This always bustling and energetic restaurant boasts a huge menu with many Vietnamese and Chinese favorites. The Phở is a popular staple, but don't stop there. You should experiment and enjoy. The food is very good and the prices are very reasonable.

Father and Son

By jonathanlY8692IZ |

The old geezer recommended this place to me. I was quite skeptical. As an Asian I've indulged in many "different" Asian cuisine, but this place takes the cake. The variety is off the charts. They say quality over quantity, but this place has both. If you have a very specific choice of Asian cuisine you look forward to, check this place out. They probably have it.

Tried the challenge...

By Alastair S |

So I just tried the challenge. And what a challenge it is... It was about 12lb of soup noodles. It is impossible. I the food was good but it was just so big. I went with my Feancè and she had a "normal" meal. It looked really good and she said she had enjoyed it. I have also been to Vietnam and China and the menu looked really authentic. I will have to go back here at some point and try it properly.

huge menu, very eclectic vietnamese

By suramom |

Went with a group. Huge menu, full of weird things. food i liked was salt/pepper shrimp, clams, beef with broccoli, sausage rolls (super yummy, spring rolls with sausage). I found the sour soup inedible but others liked it. Very ethnic type menu, rather than Americanized. service was ok, they seem very organized. But with loud music hard to communicate to them. Restaurant had very loud music playing but they did turn it down a bit, as we wanted to speak to each other. Very bright decor, colored lights and all. From the handicapped point of view restroom had only one toilet working, water on the floor, so slippery. Outside they apparently wash the (fake) wooden planking, making it super slippery. I almost fell several times, and 2 hours later when we left it was still slippery. Had to walk all the way thru the parking lot around the restaurant to find concrete that was not wet and slippery.

extensive menu

By Chusi G |

Huge restaurant with huge menu. We ate egg rolls, duck wraps, spring rolls, tomato rice with salmon, combination udon noodles, vermicelli bowl with pork. Portions are very generous, reasonable prices. Service could be better. They don't remove used plates, refill water unless asked. You can order to go or order snacks at the counter. Bathrooms resemble doors going to a disco.

Bistro B walnut st

Visited with a group of friends. Restaurant was pretty packed. Food came out quickly. Some of their dishes were good; however, The catfish clay pot was so salty. Price was reasonable.. Overall, it's a good Asian restaurant in Dallas.

Fantastic Hot Soup for a Cold Day

By Ann B |

Bistro B is one of our weekend go-to places when we're in Dallas. This weekend was the first cool weekend of the fall so it was a perfect time for a trip for some Spicy Beef Stew with Rice Noodles and a bowl of Clam Soup. These are just two of the more than 500 items on their extensive menu. While it can be intimidating, it is well organized and there are good descriptions. Besides the Vietnamese and English names, each item is numbered and there are also photos of many of the items. The Spicy Beef Stew is rich and flavorful with large chucks of beef, carrots and your choice of rice, noodles or a baguette. It is served with the requisite side dish of bean sprouts, basil and accoutrements usually served with Pho. The Clam Soup was served in a huge bowl, with a ladle, and was enough for at least two. The broth was fresh and clear and there were probably at least a pound of clams nestled in the soup. It isn't served with anything, but we ordered a baguette on the side ($0.75). The portions are large and the prices are very affordable. We also ordered three bahn mi sandwiches to go for Sunday lunch (always buy two get one free). They packaged the veggies in a separate baggie so the sandwiches could be heated/toasted before adding the veggies. Try it and it'll be your go-to as well.

What the pho!

By Jose H |

The best pho in Dallas. Noisy but well worth it for the food. Extensive menu and we have yet to try many things but it all looks good. They also have things that you can buy to go such as candy, ice cream and other things.

Inexpensive and good

By Katha B |

This is our "go-to" place when we want inexpenisve Vietnamese food. We always enjoy getting their Buns (don't know the correct spelling) My only complaint is that Bistro B is fairly loudon the weekends. Also, waiters are hard to understand when they are describing various food selections. We continue to go back time and time again so the noice and the English translations don't keep us away.

late night meal

By Nhia T |

Went there on a Sunday night with my coworker and his family. Had a salmon hotpot, fried tofu and a shrimp with apple and mango papaya salad. The salad was very good, the sweetness of the apples and mango went very well with the spicy and sourness of the sauce. It's not like the Thai papaya salads, it was very light almost like the Vietnamese sauces. The hot pot was wonderful also, it has all the characteristics of Vietnamese cuisine, it was sweet, bitter, spicy and salty all at once. They put fresh okra in the soup so after it simmers for a while, it becomes thicker and goes very well with the rice noodles. The menu was so big that we had to have my co-worker's brother order for us as it would have taken us forever to look over everything.

A Must for Visitors

By arina_boo |

This place is always a must whenever I visit Dallas. The exterior looks worn down but the interior is nice. I like coming here because of the large variety of foods on the menu. It can be overwhelming at first. The staff are friendly, fast, and efficient.

Always good!

By Terry T |

I am definitely impressed with the quality of food at this restaurant. Always consistent. Loud and lively! You should go!

Unsafe

By NoThanks |

Almost always has a gross bathroom (e.g. floating poo, at least one toilet not working , etc). The last few times I got a pick-up order, they did not have foil for it, so the food burned through the styrofoam. So dangerous. I couldn't eat it. What a waste of money. :( It is really sad because the food tastes good, but I can no longer justify eating food from here. So sad.

Casual and economical, with good food

By Biotourist |

This Asian restaurant has a cafeteria feel to it, but provides good sit-down service nevertheless. The menu is very extensive, with photos of the fare for those not familiar with the great variety of dishes, which seem primarily Vietnamese and Thai. This is not an upscale restaurant, but prices are very moderate, the service is good, and the food is very tasty.

Off the hook delicious!

By Beauchicken |

First time to visit but won’t be my last time to eat here. Had veggie spring rolls and fat noodles with beef. Just delicious! Spicy good with lots of flavor!!

Good for early lunch (or early dinner, also?)

By WichitaTigger |

We came here twice. The first was for an early lunch. Great fresh food. and CHEAP compared to what we were used to back east. The second time was for a late dinner. ummm. if you've eaten good food elsewhere then you have something to compare it to. the food was not that good at night. the beef I ordered was dry and tasteless. the soup my wife ordered was full of msg. at least the caramel fish and egg roll was good.

Largest Selection of Asian dishes in Dallas

By aznragedragon |

The menu at Bistro B is huge. They have everything from eggrolls to traditional Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. They also have a wide selection of drinks and appetizers. The Pho dishes are very tasty and come in a large variety. Only problem is that the place often gets very busy, especially during the weekends. Expect to wait for a table for at least 30 minutes during peak lunch and dinner hours. But the wait is well worth it.

Very good

By pmmom |

Had the fresh roll and grilled pork chop. The fresh roll was really good. The peanut sauce was great. I wanted grilled pork chop only and they did just that. The pork chop was very good too. Service was excellent!

Very nice menu options

By earroyave |

The place is great and the food quite varied in options. The food was very tasty and the service very friendly. Only caveat is that they don't accept Amex or Discover so that presented an unwelcome ending to the meal. That being said, we will come back to this place whenever we are in the area and do recommend it to friends.

Menu consistency NON-EXISTENT

By 98dary |

While service here is not consistent, neither is the menu. You may have oily fried rice one day and great fried rice the next. The menu brags of over 100 items however becareful of what you order as somedays orders fly out of the kitchen fast and may be missing items with you order that you need such as rice. And tracking down your server to give you the correct attention to correct your order is a nightmare cause of hte volume of customers. I hate to rate Bistro B POOR but they used to be on top of their game in food and service but that was years ago!

Huge Menu, with Good Food, reasonable prices

By Love-bob |

I had wanted to visit this Vietnamese restaurant for a while, and frankly just made it to here tonight. First a few things to think about - this is in an area of DFW that has a lot of different Asian Restaurants. And even in this shopping mall I think I counted 2 other Vietnamese Pho shops. Plus a large Asian grocery store. Second while technically in Dallas, going east just a little bit and you are in Garland Texas (home to even more Asian Restaurants). Third you do have to plan your visit to this restaurant unless you live right in the area. Nothing difficult just a little bit of planning - north of 635, north on Audilia, and slightly west on Walnut Lane. Walnut Lane to the east has a lot of other options so if you really are crazy you can eat a little at each. Now to the Menu - most Vietnamese restaurants have a so called 5 column tri fold menu with maybe 60 listed items (plus or minus - some kind of appetizer / rolls, a few sandwiches, Pho, egg noodle soup, something with rice, cold noodles, and a few stir fried dishes, and the specials.). Not this place we are talking a real 26 page menu with too many options until you start to understand the menu. But still no manner how you cut it, more options plus if you want they will custom make something a little bit different if you want. The look and feel of the restaurant is typical with some decorations, and at least some nice lighting fixtures. This is not the typical CFL, and white formica, with a few prints on the wall of Vietnam kind of place. Depending on your mood, I would have a problem rating most of these restaurants more than a 1 maybe a 2, this is at least a 2. Wait staff - keep and eye on who served you - so you can spot them again. But the wait staff share in the tips so if you don't find the original waiter, go with another. But remember we have wait staff and those that fill water glasses and clear tables. Ask questions - if the first member of the wait staff does not understand you, another member of the staff will come over to help. Please ask questions unless you eat and read Vietnamese a lot. Do not be surprised. Overall this is a good attentive wait staff and they want you to be happy with your meal. Solid 2. Remember these are my ratings and not the official Trip Advisor ratings - using there system I would rate the service as a 4. Food - now this is really the reason you come to a restaurant in the first place. Get over the number and size of the menu. Order something. In this kind of restaurant it is ok to order one course, then keep the menu and order something else because you see it come to another table or because you want more to eat. Remember to ask for extra plates and bowls. Try a lot of different things and eat more family style sharing as you go. Ask about the serving size - you might need a double order but generally if this is not enough don't worry. When this course is finished order another. I gave this place a solid 4, and maybe after a few times coming to this restaurant, I will be ready to move up the star rating another notch. We ordered, a Vietnamese take on lettuce wraps to start, then a mixed noodle salad that was tasty, then big bowl of Pho that was split, then some flan, and Vietnamese coffee to finish with. Was this too much food, not really and the pacing was great. Once you order it takes but a few minutes for the food to come out. Fancy - presentations were very good, and the Vietnamese learned from the French that you do eat with your eyes. But this is not fancy and the china is just that. Now to extra condements on the table - wow 4 different dishes of some kind of hot stuff that will on a normal day take your brain off. The sambal was very good but just a little bit. Plus another tray with sarachi (rooster sauce), housin, fish, a red wine vinager, but a few things I was not sure of. Lots of spoons, small dishes, chop sticks, and the like also provided. And unlike some places a fork and spoon was included. Yes I will be back. One disappointment - I was told they did several versions of frog legs - and was ready to make an order. Sorry not on the menu anymore. But they have all kinds of fish, mussels, clams, and other sea creatures; pork, beef, tofu, and ????. Keep an eye open for the next visit.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The hours are so versatile. The service is incredible with a huge team of servers and help. It's a must-try if you have never been here will truly be impressed and come back again and again and refer people it's a no-brainer it's delicious.

Very good

Bistro B at Walnut Street Mall is a hidden gem for lovers of Vietnamese cuisine. The menu is extensive, offering everything from traditional pho and banh mi to stir-fried dishes and unique desserts. Portions are generous, and the food is fresh, flavorful, and affordable. The casual, bustling atmosphere makes it a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Whether you're craving a hearty bowl of noodles or want to explore authentic Vietnamese flavors, Bistro B delivers a consistently satisfying experience.

Excellent choices

By Kero G |

This is by far the BEST Vietnamese restaurant I've been to. Also, I am not fond of much of their food since I'm a die hard Malaysian food fan. However, they have so many food to choose from and you cannot go wrong. My personal favorite would be the golden pomfret, clams, crab.. basically anything seafood is great here. You should definitely try them. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Everything I've had here hasn't been anything short of "delicious". I've been here countless of times now. Never gets old. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for Asian food in Dallas!

My favorite vietnamese restaurant

By statgamer |

I LOVE the food here. The smoked pork spring rolls are to die for. The vegetable and shrimp hot pot is ambrosia. The fish with ginger sauce is amazing as long as you are okay with eating the skin (which I am not but I sneak out the pieces of fish under it and it is so tasty) but my absolute favorite is the lotus root salad. If I am dying, someone please offer me some and witness the miracle of my coming back to life. The service is not great, ambiance is not what this place is about. Go for the extensive menu selection, prepare to waddle out of there totally stuffed and be happy.

Great food for such a ridiculously large menu

By goddess0063 |

Wow...such a ridiculously ginormous menu, yet they manage to make it all so good. Hubby and I were there for lunch on Sunday with a large group and they did a fantastic job taking care of us all with our separate checks. Hubby and I started with an order of roasted duck rolls, which were very good but no better or worse than most every other spring roll I've ever tried. Hubby then ordered the beef, pork, and shrimp paste spicy soup. There was a ton of things in that bowl and all tasted great. I ordered the spicy lemongrass beef, which actually was the only disappointment, but only a little. I was expecting more with the beef (and there was plenty of beef) but all I got was an overabundance of onions and nothing else. Other stir-fry dishes ordered at the table came with lovely vegetables but there I was with one of the few veggies I don't eat. So I just moped over my fairly tasty beef and some rice. At least the beef tasted a bit better the next day when the lemongrass really shone but I spent half my lunch break picking out those damn onions. We also ordered some orange, carrot and ginger juice (tasty!) and an iced coffee. VERY strong coffee! The restaurant is fairly clean for how busy it was, though they could stand to keep the bathrooms a bit cleaner. If we lived closer to this location we'd definitely come here more often.

A wonderland of Asian food

By TucsonTravelGnome |

Bistro B features a massive, almost overwhelming, menu of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian food. The portions are large and prices are low. I ordered Vietnamese Tacos, Pho (described as an appetizer) and a broken rice dish. The food arrived quickly and was excellent. It was far more than I could eat in one sitting as the Pho alone was more than enough for a full meal and the whole bill came to under $30. I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area.

Longterm satisfied customer!

This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. I’ve been coming here since 2008. The service is always great. The atmosphere is always amazing. The decorations are always amazing there is about 500 items on the menu and they are all awesome! The owner is great as well. I highly recommend trying this place out for Breakfast, lunch or dinner! They open very early in the morning and close late! This

Very good!

I was reluctant to try this, but the lights and decor caught my eye! Our food was delicious and quick. I had the number 146 and recommend it.

Great authentic cheap food -- without the sticky tables

By ALTippet |

I come from the Bay Area where the Vietnamese restaurants are sticky in all the wrong places even though the food is tasty. I had a great experience at Bistro B. The guy clearing my table wiped it down 7 times using 3 different cloths rinsed in 3 different buckets and a squirt of Windex type liquid. My table was literally squeaky clean. The bus-boys and wait staff all had personal headsets -- I felt like an airplane ushered to the gate when our table was ready. And the menu had over 300 items. Just like my regular greek diner in NYC. The food was authentic and exactly what I would expect in SF -- tasty tasty tasty. For some reason, the same exact food costs less at the take-out counter than off the dinner menu. So being cheap, we got takeout appetizers and ate them at our table. And buy 2 beef pho (@$7 each) and get 1 free! Wow. And just like back home, I noted my table number and went up to the register to collect my bill and pay. Stuffed myself. Felt like my favorite pho house in SF -- except for the fact that it was 500x cleaner. Couple of drawbacks. Too many TVs scattered around the restaurant. And the joss sticks smoking might cause irritation if you are sensitive to smoke.

Hidden gem

By N_Zvi_A |

Bistro B is by far the most affordable restaurant in its class. Offerings range from Vietnamese (the primary theme here) to Chinese, to SEA Fusion. Staff are friendly, although a bit rushed. It's a popular spot at all times of the day, and because it's open so late at night, it's sometimes the only place worth going. I highly recommend the Broken Rice dishes, as they have a bit of everything and are priced like fast food. This is one of the few places to get a somewhat decent milk tea in Dallas.

Best vietnamese restaurant in town

By mariellichan |

Buy two pho, get third for free, always. Good variety of food. I go there once a week. Always packed with Asian customers.

Little bit of everything

By Shelley C |

Bistro B is not the best Vietnamese food in town, but it does a lot really well. There are over 300 items on the menu. The restaurant was packed on a Sunday afternoon which proves that many people enjoy the vast selection and food.

good for hot pot.

good for hot pot.

foods are great

By khoadant |

the foods are great, it has a lot of varieties from different ethnic, but mainly vietnamese and chinese foods. it has great tacos as well. price is just decent, not too expensive. however, the restaurant serves everything in large portion. as the result, make sure you come here with empty stomach. otherwise, you will have foods to go.

And I would walk 500 miles

By Alicia B |

We live in a small town 3 hours away from here, where no asian restaurants exist, or any good ones. However, my family will drive here when we get the craving for asian food. First of all, it's a bit gaudy with all the decorations and lights but I've grown to like it. It makes you feel happy. Then they have hundreds of food items, desserts, special drinks. I always get the combination pan fried noodles, sooo yummmy! The noodles are chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside just like I like them. Everything I've tried has been good except the salads. They give you soo much greens with the salad dishes that you feel like you're a rabbit or something. Overall, this place gets my vote!

Lunch while shopping

By richhmon |

We have been to Bistro B many times but this is the first review. Don't like to review one time visits. The menu selection is very large. We have not even tried half the food but what we have tried was good, not great but good. It is very clean and well kept, the service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonalbe. There are plenty of places to shop within walking distance. The food would probably be much better if they focused on a smaller menu. That said, I would still recommend Bistro B to my friends.

Favorite Local Restaurant

By Aggie19881 |

I have not yet had anything here that I don't LOVE! My all time favorite is #146. My Wife and I always start with Fried Squid and also Spring Rolls. I also love the Frog Legs. My Wife loves the Soups they offer. Don't forget to finish with a Smoothie!!

Pretty Good Vietnamese Food

By Houdah A |

We ordered take out. The tofu spring rolls are GIGANTIC! I had the lemongrass chili tofu. Not as good as I’ve had at other restaurants, but not bad either. Was very pleased to see a large selection of items, plus several vegan friendly options.

fast cheap and good

By thatzit |

I am vietnamese and from orange county, california so I know how good is good for a vietnamese restaurant. I came here for lunch with local friend who wanted to impress me that there are good viet restaurants in Dallas. First impression was how big the restaurant is. Right away, we were greeted by the hostess and got the table despite it was lunch time on friday and it was packed. The prices were another surprise! So reasonable and the choices!! So many to chose from, we ordered the Hue rolls to start, the rolls are meaty, the peanut sauces are well seasoned. Next we had a rice platter and crunchy rice noodle with seafoods, we asked to have the sauce separately,(pho ap chao)..The portions are generous that we have to share, and the services are quick..Keep up the qualilty please...highly recommended...

This is a hidden treasure

By CynthiaCharleen |

We came to the restaurant on recommendation of friends. The menu is varied and lots to choose from. The spring and egg rolls were very good. I would not have guessed it by appearance, but the Cat Fish in the crock was excellent. We ordered it on the recommendation of the hostess. The price is very reasonable and we had an enjoyable experience. If you like Asian food, you should find something here to enjoy.

Very Attractive Place But The Food Didn't Meet Expectations

By enteng000 |

On a late Friday night trip to the DFW area, we wanted to find a place that offered Chinese or Vietnamese soup. The only "passable" Chinese soup place closes at 9 pm so I got on my phone app and did a search for Vietnamese Pho. This led us to Pho 95 which is just across Bistro B. On arrival at Pho 95, we saw how bright and busy Bistro B was. After having our fill at Pho 95, we walked across the parking lot and went to look around Bistro B. The place was packed at . 12 midnight on a Saturday morning and people were still coming in. Everyone looked like they were enjoying the food. The clientele was a good mix of Caucasian, Hispanic, African-American and Asian people. Since we just had our fill of Pho, we decided to come back the next night. It was also quite busy when we got to this place just after midnight. Again, it was quite busy. We sat down at the booth (Reminder: bring a jacket as the place was freezing even in a beautiful June evening. They have the air on full blast). We had tacos, fried shrimps (with heads), Fried Tilapia and Wonton Soup. Wow, we were so disappointed. The taco meat was sweet (unlike traditional tacos de carne asada). The shrimps were hard to peel. The tilapia was really hard (We think it was fried while it was not fully thawed out) and the wonton was not what we are accustomed to. This Asian Fusion Cuisine doesn't agree with me very much. One bright spot was the boba tea selection that they have. While quite expensive, the selection was wide. My wife got one that had among others, aloe and coconut meat and it was really refreshing. I don't think we'll come back to this place again unless we come in very late in the night and there's no other place to go to.

Best Vietnamese food..!!

By WrldAround |

I had tried many several Vietnamese restaurant and Bistro B got to be one of the best, at least in the U.S. There are many selections of food to choose from and all are at reasonable price. For any first time visitor, you got to try their egg roll and then at least one type of noodle dish. If you like Asian food, you will be a fan of this place. Enjoy!

Excellent food with abundant options. Terrible wait service.

By DonePayingForPoorQuality |

Abundance of options and meal choices. Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese style dishes are most prevalent on the menu. The sesame chicken is Damn good. The Boba tea is good. The wait service is terrible. You come here for festive food and fun environment... NOT the service

looks like real vietnamese food

By YIN_BLUE_CASH |

All the waiters and waitresses communicate in vietnamese to each other, which is really cool. The food there were tasty. order two pho get one free so do the milk teas. interesting experience.

Large Menu Masquerading As Food

By KDtraveler |

Rubber Winter and Summer Rolls. Duck Tacos that are actually chicken because they don’t have duck anymore served on doughy tasteless buns. Shaken Beef that failed as shoe leather so they sautéed some vegetables and tried to pass it off as a classic. The only thing classic is how bad it was. Lastly the Stone Pot Rice with Pork Chop......The Pork Chop was so tough and overcooked that it could have been used as the aforementioned shoe leather. The accompanying ingredients only served to compliment how awful this dish truly is. I’m not sure how this sad restaurant merited a certificate of excellence other than an excellent reason to dine elsewhere.

Wonderful variety of Vietnamese dishes

By MamaP |

Let me start by saying that my MIL is the best Vietnamese cook that I have ever known. She thinks this place is amazing. What more needs to be said? They make many of the Vietnamese dishes just like she does. Great value and terrific service as well. If you are looking for the best Vietnamese food in DFW this is it, hands down! Can’t wait to go back.

Excellent and great value vietnamese food.

Every time we visit Dallas, we always make it a point to visit Bistro B, no frills and always packed. Food are delicious and price are amazing. Service is fast and staffs are attentive. Great selections and servings are huge. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend it.

Lunch stop

By librarianmarn |

Great place with HUGE portions and so many options! You’ll definitely take some home or can share with others.

very big menu, not bad...will be back!

By Linh N |

Pho: not bad, considering there was a buy 2 get 1 free pho deal! Good enough to satisfy your pho addiction like my husband and son! Che dessert: family ordered 5 different kinds, they were all a cool nice refreshment on a hot summer night! Salted Pepper Squid: not so good! too much batter..not the typical way of preparing this Vietnamese dish. It should be fried salty squid w/ little or no batter at all, so that it's crispy and salty! Seaweed salad with shrimp: good appetizer! Banh Mi (2 different kinds: beef sandwich and pork sandwich) : it's okay. not the best. can't complain for the cheap prices and considering it's not the restaurant specialty. We tried this restaurant on a whim from yelp reviewers. We got there at 8:30 Sunday night and they were packed! Disco lights were bouncing off the walls and ceiling, such a fun atmosphere. It took awhile for the waitress to take our orders but they were so busy so we were patient. Once the orders were given, food came out fast! Dishes were hit and miss but our family will definitely come back to try other dishes!

Great food and value!

We love Bistro B. The pork spring rolls are amazing. We love trying something new from their extensive menu. Never a bad meal here!

Get the shaken chicken without lettuce and the water spinach with garlic

By DonePayingForPoorQuality |

The spinach with garlic is amazing. The shaken chicken with extra sauce without lettuce is outstanding if you like mushrooms. Their egg rolls are cheap. With the exception of server named Hai, the wait service is terrible. Order extra waters in advanced.

If you need a place has many people

My favorite!!!

By Ativan69 |

I love Asian cuisine so I am naturally attracted to these restaurants whenever I get the opportunity. A very good friend invited me to Bistro B and I have been a loyal return customer every time I am in Dallas! From the iced coffee and spring rolls to the soups and meat dishes, you can't go wrong. My fave is the Pho which you can get with chicken, beef, tofu, steak, or just noodles. The service is great and they have a great take out counter too. Highly recommend you stop by!

Very wide variety of good food!

By eichsttl |

Seven of us had dinner here on a Friday night. It was very busy but we were seated at a table quickly. Service was good and quick. Our food was very good. As we ate, it continued to get busier with a significant line. The atmosphere is very unique. It is brightly lit with an unusual decor. It’s a fun place. The menu has a huge selection of dishes.

A local favorite

By anonymousfortwayne |

A local friend took us to Bistro B for authentic Vietnamese food. We went in January, and the place still had all of the kitschy neon Christmas lights up: palm trees, flashing Christmas lights, and neon creche. "Busy" does not even begin to describe the decor outside. The authenticity of the place is evident by the numbers of Vietnamese patrons inside. There is a take-out counter where one can order smoothies with tapioca balls (boba) and anything else on the menu. Fantastic spring rolls are sold 50 cent each, and frequently someone comes in to buy 100 rolls for a party. Everything here is very good, and everything comes out very quickly. We tried the pho (noodle soup---always get beef), the crispy omelets, the combination rice plates, the rice vermicelli salads (called bun, dressed with a tangy lime and fish sauce dressing), the bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwiches with savory meats and pickled veggies on freshly baked french baguettes), the fresh summer rolls made with rice and tapioca wrappers. The vegetables are always fresh and crunchy. The service is fast, no nonsense. Wish it were a franchise and everywhere. On weekends, after 6 PM, expect a wait.
