Anniversary Dinner

By Carter Clement |

My wife and I had reservations here for our 2nd anniversary, I loved my new york strip and the appitizers that we shared. My wife wasn't crazy about the seafood pasta. The restaurant gave us a free dessert for our anniversary.

Rushed, Food is Decent

By Eup |

Took the time to make a reservation weeks in advance. We were seated in the bar area even though we arrived before our reservation time. Food was piled on. We ordered appetizers, salads and entree. All of it came within minutes of each other. The food was very good. Service leaves a lot to be desired. It is a cattle call restaurant, not recommended. They just want to move people "through the shoot."

Saturday brunch

Mushroom tarte, onion soup and escargot are delicious. Profiteroles are the best dessert.Nikkie was very attentive and always smiling.

Surprising great French bistro given its chain ownership

By Edward M |

I decided to eat here because it was close to the courtyard Marriott and the menu looked great despite it is part of a larger restaurant chain. I sat at the bar and both bartenders were interactive, friendly and helpful with menu and drink selections. I wanted seafood and took the bartenders suggestions. For app I had the Georgia shrimp sauté provincial , it was spectacular and had a great roasted tomato explosion of flavor. The shrimp were fresh and sweet! For entrée I had the Trout amandine. This dish can be over the top on the almonds which is why I at first hesitated to order it, but this is not the typical dish. There was only a scattering of almonds on top not encrusting the entire fish( a good thing). The fish was very fresh , and the buerre blanc had the correct amount of almond flavor, buttery, and balanced. There was a great alcohol selection and ended the meal with a great sipping bourbon also recommended by one of the bartenders. Overall a great meal in a business area and I would recommend whole hardily to anyone!

A Happening Spot............

By Tomas M |

I recently met with some business colleagues at Bistro Niko. It is located in the heart of Buckhead, in the Atlanta region. The restaurant has a happening bar scene (and certainly did the Wed night we were there so I can only imagine what TH/F/Sa nights might be like). The restaurant is spacious and has an “open-air” feel to it. The good news is that it has a more informal and fun/lively feel to it. The downside is that it can get noisy when the bar area is cranking and your table is closer to the bar (Tip - think about your proximity to the bar when dining). We started with a few apps and enjoyed the cheese platter and cheese puffs. The platter came with multiple cheeses, crackers, jams, nuts and such. It was very tasty. One odd thing that happened for us is our platter was swarmed with fruit flies. We killed off a bunch but eventually had to send the platter away with the wait staff to get the little buggers to disappear. The puffs were tasty, fun and great for sharing like the platter. For meals we tried a few different options. I tried the sole special. It came with an ample portion of fish and vegetables. It was good, not great but overall I was happy with my choice. Service was decent - good at times but spotty when the restaurant got busier. Overall we had a generally good experience. I would certainly consider Niko when meeting folks for a Buckhead bar experience. For dining I would pick lunch or early/late dinner with avoid the bar noise factor. Onward!

Relax at this Parisian fashioned bistro

By Alex |

This is one of those places where you can step away, unwind with a glass of wine, and take in a leisurely meal with friends or colleagues -- or even alone. The waiters are knowledgeable about the wine selection and are eager to assist you. The quality of the food is outstanding, but be prepared to spend some time at Bistro Niko. This is not a place to quickly grab a bite and run -- the experience is much more leisurely, so sit back, take a deep breathe, and enjoy. The food will not disappoint you.

Worth it!

By stephimr |

This is a great place for after dinner drinks, a celebration like mothers day, a wind down or just a nice treat. The hostess- delightful The server- delightful The crowd- ugh, pretentious The food- delicious Go there, try it out for yourself. With my budget I could not eat there weekly but this place is for sure a treat.

A fantastic evening, well worth the money!

By Underground F |

My partner & I went here to celebrate our anniversary. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the host who was very pleasant & professional. My partner asked if he could take our picture and he obliged, making sure we were happy with the pictures before he directed us to our table. Once seated, our server arrived very quickly, made sure we had drinks, handed us menus and allowed us time to decide before returning to take our order. She was very attentive, friendly & professional without being overbearing. The atmosphere was quite relaxed and very festive! We ordered - French onion soup, escargot en croute, sea bass with fingerling potatoes & green beans, Maine sea scallops with jumbo asparagus, pomme pureé sorrell white wine nage, flourless chocolate cake & a Sorbet. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. we had a fantastic evening & the whole experience was wonderful. Worth every penny spent!

Great Food...Great Service

By toyman111 |

First time and will not be the last time. Went for Sunday brunch and had a great meal. For starters we had the smoked salmon appetizer which was delicious. I had the steak and eggs w/duck fries, all were cooked perfectly and mighty tasty. My wife had eggs Benedict that she loved. Had a great table in the main dining room and the service was excellent and caring. If you have not been to BN I suggest you give it a try.

Excellent service, very accommondating, attention to details, desire to please customer.

By eflockhart |

The waiter was very attentive, polite, and accommodating. We tipped him well. He went above and beyond most standards for professionaism.

Loud and Unremarkable

By Bruce0460 |

My wife and I had dinner with another couple this past weekend at Bistro Niko in Buckhead. Tip #1: Valet park for $2, or you'll pay $6/hr. for the privilege of self parking. Tip #2: learn sign language. It was so loud; very loud, such that I could only hear about every other word spoken by the couple seated right across the table from me. Tip #3: Don't expect culinary perfection. . . or excellence. The onion soup appetizer and bouillabaisse entree' were both -- shall we say -- uninspired (well, mediocre). I won't rush back.

Fine meal at reasonable prices for Atlanta

By o2bretired64 |

All my 4 ratings should be 4 1/2. Excellent applies, but there should be an "outstanding" rating for the very few places that have an experience like no other. So don't take my 4 as a negative. I can't recall why I stopped going to Bistro Niko six or seven years ago, but I wish I had tried it again during the past several years. I definitely will return. The coquilles St. Jacques were excellent. Properly searing a sea scallop is not that difficult, but the lemon butter sauce with a mysterious umami element was not something the average cook can duplicate. Caesar salad was good, as would be expected. The menu overall was interesting and there are many additional items I want to try on future visits, not to mention the steaks--at better prices than other Buckhead Life restaurants. Over all the prices are a little easier on the wallet than the pure steakhouses.

Problems in the Kitchen

By Elizabeth P |

Except for the excellent mussels, the food tonight was terrible. My soft shell crab appetizer was so fried it hardly tasted like soft shell crab. The trout was burned on one side, and the green beans were overcooked and slathered in butter. My companion’s chicken paillard was also overcooked. Something was definitely wrong in the kitchen tonight. I won’t go back.

France in Atlanta

By Mindy R |

Felt like I stepped into a restaurant in France. Highly recommend. Food was amazing (French Onion Soup and Scallops) and don't miss dessert.

Always perfect

By Colleen R |

Bistro Niko is always great. You can sit in the side room for a quieter experience or in the main dining room for the full bustling bistro experience. You can also sit outside and watch cars and people roll past on Peachtree. The cuisine is quintessentially French, however, if your feeling adventurous you can try anything. I’ve Ben coming here for almost 10 years and have never had a bad experience. Favorites are the jambon asperagus salad, the trout, the scallops, we’ll just about everything. Save room for the dessert. The profiterole are fantastic too.

Steady and reliable

By RGGold |

We went on Labor Day for lunch and to be honest, it was not our first choice. That said we weren’t disappointed nor overly impressed. Despite being 20% full, 80% empty the service was erratic. The flatbread special and gazpacho took forever to be served, and we had only just sipped the last spoonful when the main course hit!! In general all dishes were tasty and good quality, the swordfish special was perfectly pan fried. Side orders of vegetables are limited in choice and the green salad chosen to replace the fries with a hearty burger, was a bit ordinary. No regrets on going but given the abundance of bistro choice in Atlanta, not sure I’ll be headed back soon

One of my favs

By FeedBob |

We’ve been coming here for several years and we keep coming back because of the quality of the food and the attentive service. This visit was a perfect example. We dropped by for an early dinner—without a reservation—and everyone was great. We love the St. Germaine cocktail and paired that with the house pate. Both were terrific. The pate serving was plenty to share and fantastic. Our server was on top of everything and helped steer us to the halibut special. The butter sauce was divine! We top off with the apple tart. This is great food, done well. A terrific choice for classic French dishes in an energetic atmosphere.

Wonderful experience

By Christopher C |

Was visiting Atlanta and walked to this restaurant. We were welcomed and sat at the bar. Then the experience began. Cucumber martinis and bourbon. Escargot was delicious. The Beef Bourguignon was delicious. My friend ordered the scallops, which were great also. I remarked to the staff this was as good as when I visited Paris. Fresh, warm bread with real butter. Everyone, including the bartenders, were gracious and friendly. We left very full and satisfied! Great job!

Has Been Better in the Past

By Dennis B |

I have been here many times and usually the experience is excellent. However, this time was a disappointment. First the service was very slow. It took a while for our server to come to the table and even then, he did not take drink orders. Ten minutes later he came to take drink orders, which did arrive quickly after they were placed. Then another 10 minutes or so before he came back to tell us about the specials. Another 10 minutes or so before he came to take appetizer orders, which came out quickly. Sometime after that he came and took or meal orders, which again came out fast. It was pretty obvious that the kitchen was up to speed, but our server was either over taxed or neglectful. We were there two hours easily. The French Onion Soup was not soup at all (very different from the previous times I had it here), but more like onion stew. There was hardly any broth, just a lot of onions under the croton and cheese. I tried to eat it but could not. I should have sent it back. The Cajun chicken was excellent and I highly recommend it. Very moist and flavorful and tender. Excellent dish! This place is always loud, but was out of control this evening. Mostly the problem was a table of women who were talking very loudly - almost screaming. They erupted in loud laughter several times which prompted several tables to give them a sharp glace. They either did not get the hint or did not care. It made for a less than pleasant evening. In summary, the service was not good, the soup was not soup and it was extremely loud, but the Cajun chicken was excellent.

Disappointing this time, totally uncoordinated.

By Bob S |

Early reservation Sunday morning, not crowded and not very well staffed either. Waited about10 minutes before someone came to the table, ordered one wine and two waters, 10 minutes before wine came out. Another wait before server arrived again, nothing had been placed on table, at any rate we ordered appetizer of Salmon Tarte which came out in a reasonable time, along with the Sourdough Bread and Butter which should have been out before the appetizer. Orderer Eggs Madame and Brioche French Toast which came out before we were halfway through the Salmon Tarte. What's with the rush, and by the way the French Toast and Syrup were cold. Our third time here on a Sunday morning, utterly disappointing to the extent of being completely dissatisfied. Unacceptable to a Ultimate Dining Card Member!!

Superb dining experience for an occasion

By GeorgiaJandL |

We hadn’t been here for years. Went for our anniversary - they remembered when we arrived. Seated in the salon - much quieter than the main room - will ask for it again. Food and service top notch. Will definitely return.

Disappointed

By MEHEL3 |

Visit was 13 September 2022, during a business trip for dinner. Dish was Coq Au Vin in the wine sauce. Order was a takeout and it took about 20/30 minutes. The staff were pleasant and professional. I had walked down to the restaurant to get my meal. Less than 10 minutes away. The meal was tender but I was a little disappointed with chicken that it lacked in seasoning/wine taste. I had been stationed in Europe and travelled many countries and have a love for French food, so I was happy I found a nice restaurant. I felt the chicken was bland in taste but moist and tender. The place was extremely busy, so I hope this was not a norm for that dish. If back in the area, I might try it again but everyone’s taste buds are different and it being busy could meant that. I will chalk it up to just a rushed dish this time. The area is nice, located down from the Lenox Square Mall. You can walk to most areas if you choose.

Awesome birthday meal!

By Paul K |

I enjoyed an absolutely spectacular birthday meal! I had the melt in your mouth cheese puffs and of course some bubbly! Outstanding that they offer Veuve by the glass. The mussels are always delicious. Their scallops dish remains an absolute favorite, perfectly seared with a delectable sauce. For dessert I had a creamy Creme brelee and they brought me complimentary profiteroles.

Bit Pricey but Nice Atmosphere

By howie999 |

It is very pricey but it has a good atmosphere had a dinner there four people US$300 and we ate moderatley lower priced stuff on the menu service quite slow - bit hopeless really

Amazing service and excellent food

By sadejo92 |

My husband and I dined here on sat(October 19th) for our 6th wedding anniversary and I could not have had a better experience. Our server Denyse was excellent. She was on point with everything! when it came to recommendation and keeping us marked and ready for the next course, she had it down. We were really surprised when she said that she had only been serving there for 5 days. She was phenomenal with the amount of knowledge she knew about the menu. Great service and awesome food. I will definitely be back and I am glad we chose this place to spend our anniversary.

Perfection in Buckhead

By gmunselle |

You know you will get food service when you are asked at the reception desk if you want to sit in the main room or somewhere more quiet. We chose the small dining room where we could talk and enjoy the elegant space. Our waiter, Eric, was knowledgeable and attentive. The complimentary bread was made by the Atlanta Bread Company and was fantastic! We started with the endive salad which was perfect, a beautiful blend of tart and sweet with delicious blue cheese and apples. The special of deep fried blue point oysters was perfection with the most delicious remoulade I have ever had. My husband chose the perfectly cooked medium-rare ribeye steak with pommes frites which was topped with herbed butter that made the dish so special. We loved everything about our experience here!

Just Wow

By Phillip B |

My wife and I chose this restaurant simply because of its proximity to our hotel. We were impressed! The restaurant is a very beautiful place with a professional staff. The food was wonderful. Our waitress suggested the appetizer that we chose and it was as good as it gets. The entrees were just as good. We plan to visit again on our next trip to Buckhead!

My go-to

By Lauren |

I visit Bistro Niko about once a week. It never disappoints. Sometimes I visit on my own at lunch, sit at the bar and have a nice salad and tea. Sometimes I visit with my guy, and we have a fancy date night or date lunch or just drinks at the bar. Sometimes I bring my daughter to celebrate one of her accomplishments. Whatever the occasion, the food, service and ambience is always top notch.

A Cure for Hanger

By Rae B |

I was REALLY craving some foigras and looked all over the Internet for somewhere to get that near my home in Atlanta. I was happy to find Bistro Niko. My boyfriend and I procured seats at the bar and we’re greeted promptly by a lovely female bartender. The beer and wine by the glass inventory are exceptionally curated. I ordered my usual Chardonnay, and he a beer we don’t find out, let alone on tap very often. We decided to start with of course the warm foigras...I do need to mention we had 2-3 choices of different foigras sets to choose from as well, which was awesome. Next came the mussels they were HUGE, tasty, and almost perfectly cooked. The broth was so good we ordered a little loaf of bread to polish it off. For our entree we ordered the cassoulet which was flavorful and a much bigger dish than we were expecting so it was nice to share it. Overall wonderful experience at the bar in Bistro Niko. *My only complaint is that when I ordered a whiskey sour up the bartender didn’t dry shake the egg white and did not strain the cocktail so there were large ice chips in the drink which was unpleasant (this was not the female bartender but her male coworker).

Clam Margarita at Bistro Niko

By atl13 |

Either the menu has a dreadful typo, or our server was a fool. We ordered a cocktail called “La Praire” – yes that’s exactly how it was spelled. It’s correctly pronounced “lah PRAYER.” Our server corrected us, calling it “La Prairie,” pronounced “lah prayer-EE.” The question is … was it a typo or was our waiter wrong? The answer is both. La Praire, in French, means clam, specifically a small bivalve raised in the muddy waters of the English Channel. We strongly suspect Bistro Niko had no intention of naming a margarita-like cocktail after a CLAM. So for sure, that was a typo. La Prairie, in French, means meadow, which seems more appropriate to a tequila-elderflower beverage. However, a wise server does not correct the customer, especially if the customer is correctly pronouncing the drink as it is printed in the menu. He should have known better. PS – The drink was clam-free, but also? It was bad. Tasted a bit like paint thinner with St. Germaine. PPS - Service was inattentive, forgetful. We had to remind server of bread service. We waited at 10 minutes or more between initial water service and the next sighting of our server. Pan-seared foie gras arrived room temperature. French onion soup had perfect amount of cheese, but was not hot enough and much too salty. Could be great but sloppy service killed it.

Good food and service

My husband and I had the opportunity to have lunch at Bistro Niko just prior to the pandemic. The food was excellent as was the service. We love the ambiance as well. We will look forward to returning when things are better.

One of the best restaurants in Buckhead

By AnnaS1014 |

We went there for our wedding anniversary lunch. The food was outstanding and the service flawless. The Christmas decorations were great. We go to this restaurant regularly. Everything we choose is always delicious.

A Consistent Win ( but go when it’s not so busy)

By FlaGirl0616 |

We decided to make a dinner reservation to enjoy the Christmas decorations and have a romantic dinner together. As always the food was perfect, the service personal and attentive. The biggest downside is the acoustics in the dining area is terrible. It’s so loud when bus you can hardly hold a conversation.

here during Covid 19 so probably not a fair assessment, but..

By Pepper |

I am staying here for a week for work so it is convenient to use their kitchen--but it is more like take out= and it is just sustenance- not much more. I have stuck to the breakfasts that you get in a brown box- the omelet is ok- the bread is kind of stale, the bagel is passable with cream cheese, and the coffee is downright awful, Nice people and good spacing of tables but I think they are just trying to cope with the situation and not really be a complete restaurant.

Amazing dining experience!

By GSU320 |

I went here w my wife for a birthday celebration. Great place and Donnie, our server, made the night amazing. The ambiance, the appetizers-Tuna, Salads, the seafood, and dessert were spot on. Donnie added the right amount class and fun, to magnify the experience.

Dependable favorite!

By J1211 |

Pros: Always consistently good! The mushroom tarte is the BEST thin crust pizza. Great ambiance Central buckhead location Cons: Our server wasn’t very warm or friendly. Wish they had a few more vegetarian options.

Great for NYE

By Bean_nicole |

Had a friend book us dinner reservations for New Years Eve. The restaurant did not disappoint. As soon as you walk in, the dimmed lighting was very cozy and inviting. I really loved the open kitchen concept. From what I could see, it was clean and well organized. We had a larger party, which meant we had to wait until all members of the party were present to sit.. not a huge ordeal as we were surrounded by friends! we drank cocktails as we waited for the rest of our party. They sat us in the large room just behind the hostess stand and it was rather intimate. The NYE menu was a 4 course option with PLENTY to choose from, infact too many things to choose from. As I recall everyone enjoyed their meals from start to finish. Me personally; I started with the caviar and bubbles. The caviar was good and the price point was fair ($75 for 2 glasses of champagne and a jar of caviar served with all the accoutrements). I ate the escargot confit, the Bouillabaisse-lobster, scallops, seabass and shrimp and finished with the hazelnut chocolate truffle cake. I must say the Bouillabaisse was a little overcooked and needed a touch of salt, but presentation was very pleasing. My husband had the Beef Bourguignon and let me just say, I should have ordered that! The shining star for me was that chocolate truffle cake. Whatever the bottom crispiness was made from tasted like the the Pirouline cookie straws. YUM! Staff was extremely attentive and friendly. We enjoyed ever minute of dinner! Sadly we did not stay for the NYE countdown as they were handing out hats for all the patrons, but I am sure it would have been delightful. If you have a chance to dine here, even for lunch do so! You will be glad you did. Parking is located behind the building off Peachtree. They offer a reasonably priced valet and the restaurant is centrally located in the best part of Buckhead.

Service is REALLY LACKING

By Flowercity12 |

I've been coming here since about 2008. I have been a dine around member since 2006. This was the worst service I have ever had here or at any of their other restaurants. It was a full 10 minutes before our server even said a word to us or brought us water. My husband made a comment & she said it was a couple of minutes. No apology. Through out the entire meal no one was to be found. We had to go on a hunt to get a second drink. The food was excellent, although you have to order a lot to be satisfied. I'm not a big eater, however in addition to my dinner I had a 1/2 of an appetizer as well as 1/2 of a dessert.Disappointing.

Amazing Steak and Frites!

By Richard M |

We just had an excellent dinner at Bistro Niko. Their steak and frites we're absolutely top-notch. I had the Prime NY Sirloin Strip & Frites with béarnaise sauce and both my kids had the Ribeye Steak Maitre d'Hotel Butter & Frites. The steak was exceptionally tender and juicy and the fries were made just right. My wife also greatly enjoyed the Mountain Trout Almondine. For appetizers we ordered the Mushroom & Truffle Essence Tarte, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, and the Crisp Duck Leg Confit. They were all wonderful, specially the duck confit. To top it off, for dessert we ordered the Profiteroles and the Crème Brulée. Both were divine! We also appreciated the courteous service and inviting ambiance. We'll be returning soon! Highly recommended.

Very disappointed

By rachsteets |

My friend and I go out to eat at different restaurants in Buckhead every Monday. I live near Bistro Niko and was excited to go. I ordered a glass of wine and a few minutes after he brought it to me, he said it was the wrong glass and took it away and brought me another (which I am convinced was still not the one I ordered). My friend ordered an entree and I ordered French Onion soup. When the meals arrived, I tasted the soup and it was not French Onion- it was bean soup. I told the waiter and he took it away without apologizing. It then took about 15 for me to get the correct soup. In that time, my friend had finished her entire scallop entree (which she said was subpar). My soup was finally brought to me. I spoke with the manager and he interrupted me and waved his hands around and said, “Well we’re having a lot of issues tonight. Sorry well sorry and sorry sorry.” (???) He then tried to tell me that I did receive my French Onion soup. Yes.... only after I sent it back and waited 15 minutes. He then asked me if I wanted the bean soup. Clearly I did not since that’s not what I ordered. The original waiter came back and said our meal was comped and asked, “Looks like yours is comped. Was something wrong?” Totally oblivious. No apology. It doesn’t matter that the food was comped; the way the manager handled it was very poor. I will not be returning.

This one is good in all respects

By RexallWillie |

Large, complete French menu. Beautiful decor. Very fine staff training and very attentive. Considering Atlanta pricing, this one is a bargain. The large main room and bar may be considered exciting, but I think it is downright noisy. There is a quiet room opposite the beautiful open kitchen. Many people in the restaurant trade don't like Pano, the owner, but most admit that he operates fine restaurants.

Uneven service

By Joakim B |

Messy and bad service, We ordered 2 starters , 4 main courses of which 2 were children's menus . To that a bottle of wine and 2 soft drinks. When the starter came in there was no wine on the table, we had to ask for that. Then came 2 glasses instead of a bottle. When we finished the appetizer, the children had not yet had their drink, and then we were asked if we wanted some butter and bread! We should have got the starter. We got in our main dishes, the steak was good but lacked vegetables and finesse. Duck good too! A little later the children's food came in and then it was the wrong pasta for one of them. Good food but messy and bad service , but they made up quite generously for their mistakes so maybe they had a bad day , understaffed and doing what they could . But more tables next to us , had no cutlery when the food came in or had to wait for drinks when the food had already been served .

Eating out

Very good food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was great with a good service time. Very full after eating a two cource meal. Will definitely go again.

Fine food with fine service

By Jodi H |

We tried this place out for brunch. It was very nice. The interior was lovely. They had a live band playing. This is a French restaurant with lots of menu choices sure to satisfy everyone’s palette. The waiters wear great uniforms. We tried the quiche Lorraine with a salad and eggs, sausage, home fries & toast. All of it was scrumptious!! The service is fantastic! They also offer valet parking for $2. We will be returning!

I have been here with my family and the meal was great. The service was very good. My main dish was incredible and I would surely eat it again!

Still a very good place after many years

By Chinapjs |

We've been coming here in Buckhead on and off for the past 6-7 years. The food is good as is the service. When it's warm there are outdoor tables too. Sort of a mixture of French and international. The soups and sandwiches are good at lunch time especially the onion soup. Nice wine list.

Not worth it

By Ela0003 |

I decided to come here after reading a lot of good reviews but was really disappointed. The food was mediocre (except for the ceasar salad that was pretty bad). Too pricey for what we get. The service was slow and our waiter looked so sad, that I felt bad for him. Certainly won’t come back.

Wonderful experience for family celebration!

By gregoryg2017 |

Very friendly staff and very efficient! Seated quickly and cocktails ordered! Trout Amandine, Bouillabaise with Tarte Au Citron with Fried Oysters, and 2 Veal Tenderloin were ordered. Wonderful atmosphere and lovely time with family eating these fabulous foods! Crème Brulee was fabulous!!! Great time and outstanding foods! Must return with family!

COVID cautious; avoid this place!

By RetireWorldTraveller |

Just left BN with less than half our food consumed. Walked in to restaurant about 75% full on a Thursday evening. Chose the bar to eat because fairly empty. We are mid 70s and excellent health. We have been super cautious for almost a year. Food mediocre at best and no attention to guest safety. We chose this place because their website had a page devoted to COVID Precautions. Mostly BS! No towelettes offered, no social distance enforced and no masks walking in. Chose a spot at end of bar and made sure an empty seat on either side of us. Shortly after food arrived a couple arrived and stood at the bar behind vacant seat. No attention to our proximity. We had steak tartare and Caesar salad. Tartare was bland. Meat dark and not fresh. Had it not been for onions and capers in the Tartare there would have been no flavor. The toast points were stale and under toasted. Caesar salad was swimming in dressing. Lettuce soggy and anchovies scarce. Wine quite tasty. With the nearby patron practically on my shoulders we just left. Glad we did not leave a good meal behind. Don’t tell patrons diners you are safety oriented and you are patterned after a Parisian Bistro when neither are true!

Food Very Good, Service is Approaching Boder-line Rude

By Jeff S |

We had a reservation at 730 and arrived on time. We were informed they were running late and would need to wait 20 minutes (this means the 530-600 reservations were running behind schedule, not a good sign). After 25 minutes we approached the desk and was told it would be another 10 minutes. There could be various reasons for the delay, but the service we experienced with the food delivery during our meal gave ample explanation. Another suggestion is that if the restaurant has more than a 15-20 minute wait, offer the guests a glass of wine, it makes such a difference. I do like the food at BN, but the consistency from visit to visit, during a particular meal and even within a dish is frustrating at times. On this visit I ordered the Tureen French Onion Soup. The tureen was about 80% full with a thick layer of cheese. Two items…first, the tureen should be full so the cheese can melt over the edges of the dish. Second, it should have spent a little more time under the heat to melt the cheese better and the soup would have benefitted since it was room temperature. For my entrée I ordered the Skate Wing Beurre Noir with capers, spinach, steamed potatoes. The fish was crisped beautifully and moist on the interior. Skate is one of the most under-rated options and I always order when I can. The chef was a bit careless with the salt, some bites were lacking any and others were overwhelming. I really liked the spinach and the potatoes, but again could have benefitted from a touch of seasoning. Service was absolutely negligent. Bistro Niko needs to re-train most of the serving staff. Our server arrived, took the orders and basically disappeared. This was very noticeable since there was a significant delay between order and the arrival of the appetizers, may have been 30 minutes…not a check-in or an update at all from the server. The bussing staff also saw no issue with reaching across the table while people were in mid-bite. Overall, it was a dismal performance, but this poor level of service is almost standard operating in all of my visits. Overall, I like the food and the vibe at Bistro Niko, but the timing from the kitchen, the inconsistency of the food and the almost rudeness of the servers is approaching unacceptable.

Extraordinary Restaurant on so many levels

By RandyA5260 |

I recently made a 2nd visit to Bistro Niko after a space of about 5 or 6 years. My 1st impression was VERY positive. But on re-visiting so longer afterward, the restaurant is just as amazing as I remember. Maybe even more-so. The ambience is elegant without feeling stuffy. Very comfy & bistro-like (makes sense), but you also feel that you're somewhere "special". The service is top-notch and even secondary wait-staff stop to ask if you need anything. The food was amazing and our entire party was 100% pleased with everything. I don't plan on waiting this long to visit a 3rd time. Easily one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants.

Can’t recommend

By BDHN |

This is a visually appealing restaurant. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. It was very loud even though we were in the smaller room behind the hostess stand. The loudness doesn’t match with the ambiance of the restaurant. It wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t hear the entire conversation of the couple seated next to us. The space was tight between the tables along the wall. We enjoyed our bottle of wine and the bread was delicious. The pizza was fine as was the burrata with tomatoes. The veal brisket was tender, but it was difficult to get to the meat through all the fat. (Our waiter asked if we wanted to talk to a manager which I declined.) I would have been embarrassed to serve it at my home. The ice cream with the apple tart was delicious, but the texture of the tart was as if it had been microwaved. It would have been better cold. I’m not sure why Bistro Niko has such glowing reviews.

very nice once you figure it out

By sola123 |

It was not clear from the hostess where a sola diner should go, you can't make a reservation for one person, and I wandered around where staff were deep in discussion with each other, finally asking, and wound up at a counter across from the bar. After that it was hit or miss to get the attention of a server. It actually was a bonding moment with the other solas seated at the same counter; talking about the welcome and being lost. The food is fine, very fresh and well prepared, but missing some small details that make a difference. I ordered a few appetizers expecting them to be served in order like courses, and not all dumped on the counter at once, on the narrow counter. Cheese plate offerings served cold from the fridge, when they should be room temperature, 2 fish dishes need lemon or a citrus zing. It is a nice room, and tasty food, a nice place for a date or work group dinner.

Bistro Niko

By EvanGuthrie |

Bistro Niko on Peachtree Road in Atlanta is a great place to go for delicious and flavorful French food in a unique and cool atmosphere. The staff here is very accommodating and makes sure that you have a special meal each time. Well worth a visit for a memorable meal.

The perfect spot for a French feast!

By Travellover |

Bistro Niko is always consistently exceptional. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable and kind. Food is flavorful and delicious. The soup selection is hearty and changes with the season. Fishes are fresh and cooked to perfection. Sourdough bread is warm from the oven. The profiteroles for dessert! Yum! You can’t go wrong with any choice you make from the menu! And right now they are decorated to the hilt for the holidays! So festive!

Another great evening at Bistro Nikko

Met with friends and enjoyed a great evening. Scallops and sea bass were favorites that night, but have been there many times and everything is good. One of the best in Buckhead!!

Bar service is a "nod to Paris"

By Century340 |

This comment is only with reference the bar and its service. If you are not a regular you "dead" to the bar service. I have 12 years of reference at this spot and I can say the previous service was top notch. That has changed. We replaced professional bartenders with bar backs.. One thing is to have bad service and the other is to have them four feet away avoiding eye contact. They are rude ....Just like a "nod to Paris"

So nice

By James M |

Only grabbed a light lunch but was very impressed. Outstanding service, pleasant decor. the salmon and croque were spot on. the salad nicoise was a little different and light on the anchovies but tasty nonthe less. I will be back for dinner sometime.

Not be be missed!

By John G |

First time here and if we lived here we would make it a regular thing. We had sea ass w/green beans and tagliatelle seafood pasta w/mesclun salad and finished w/apple tart and cinnamon ice cream. Everything was perfectly prepared and overall, this was right up there w/the best meals we ever had. Service was prompt but not intrusive and all staff we met were friendly. The place has a good vibe and lots of ambience. Lastly, the green beans are not just a side, they were as well prepared as everything else and probably the best beans everrrrrr!

Very good bistro!

By jonathb5 |

This is an above average French bistro. Had the salad with egg and bacon that was delicious and reminded me of France. The open airy environment and open kitchen kitchen was inviting and the service was warm and friendly. Highly recommended!

Great Bistro

Here for lunch, great bistro with a nice atmosphere and good service. The chicken paillard was great.

Outstanding

I usually avoid restaurants attached to hotels as they are either poor quality or over priced or both. This however was an excellent choice. Excellent food, splendid service. Would definitely dine here again!

First rate!

By Mark Olson |

We had a light dinner -- three appetizers and a desert split between two people -- and were delighted with the excellence of the food and the good service. The mushroom tarte was excellent, as was the confit duckleg and the charcuterie plate. It was not a cheap meal, but it was very good.

Too little too late...

By Michele A |

There were about 12 of us for a business dinner at 6:30 on a week day. We were seated right away. Our waitress came and took drink orders. After a while 2 of 5 of us received wine, but 3 did not receive drinks except for water ( 2 mixed drinks and 1 iced tea). I ordered an appetizer and a salad, the waitress specifically asked me if I wanted the dishes brought out together or separate. I said to bring them together. A while later my salad came out all alone. My colleague ordered a salad and an entree. Her salad didn't come out ahead of her entree. We finally got all the ordered drinks and the entrees arrived. We received something we didn't even order, which they just decided to leave with us. A colleague ordered a steak, which was not cooked as ordered TWICE. To compensate, they brought out a litany of desserts, which we didn't really want. There was a flurry of wait staff tending to us at the end, but after 2.5 hours, we really just wanted to leave. It was comical, we waited 1.5 hours for our dinner yet they took our plates away seconds after we finished. While the food we received was good, there are many choices in Buckhead. I won't be back. Go see Jesse at Sage instead.

Wow. The food and the service!

By Howard R |

The atmosphere is awesome for any type of event. The staff is quick, efficient and positive. I would highly recommend this for any type of occasion.

A great find right next door to our hotel

By Wayne W |

This was a very nice discovery as it was right next door to our our hotel. Excellent experience all round from fully attentive waiters who were very familiar with the menu, great range of dishes, fast on the deliveries, very nice starting breads. Came back again on our second night in Buckhead. Cannot fault the place.

Celebration dinner

By LiketoTravel84 |

Celebrating two birthdays. Just dinner nothing complicated. Was a little concerned at first. Was seated and waited and waited and waited. Finally server came over. Nice guy. Little hard to understand...language and noise volume. Quick recovery once food arrived. Everyone at table raved about their food. Food out of kitchen in very timely manner. Cheese puffs, smoked salmon, salad and prosciutto asparagus all excellent. Entrees came again all excellent. The food is 5 star - total experience for me is 4+. Definitely recommend

Can't wait to come back.

By Steven H |

What a wonderful experience! Our server was Nico. He was amazing. He knew the menu and was spot on for recommendations. He made the evening very enjoyable. I had the Mustard Crusted Berkshire Pork Belly appetizer with lightly pickled vegetables. I wanted to lick the plate clean. I could have just eaten that and their bread and been a very, very happy man. For the main dish, it was so hard to decide, but I settled for the Pan Roasted Breast of Duck with orange supremes, red cabbage, crisped duck potatoes, and citrus duck jus. It was cooked perfectly and so well balanced. The tartness of the red cabbage mixed with the citrus orange and the savory duck breast left no taste bud untouched. The potatoes left you bewildered. How in the world do you make potatoes taste that heavenly? They're potatoes for goodness sake! The were slightly crunchy with a creamy inside. But wait, just when you think you've had enough, just when you think it's been a perfect meal, Nico recommends the îLE FLOTANTE for dessert. A soft baked merengue, crème anglaise, almonds, and caramel. I really can't describe how incredible this dessert was. It is light, airy, rich, and creamy. Again, I wanted to lick the dish clean. I know, you're thinking "Two dish licking courses in one meal?" Yes Virginia, there is a place like that. So, when you place your reservations, ask for Nico. You'll thank me later for the amazing evening.

Excellent French Bistro cuisine

By NCDoc |

I very much enjoyed a group dinner (20 of us) at Bistro Niko. They offered the whole menu (many group dinners are build around a limited menu). All the bistro classics are there. I can recommend the trout amandine, and for dessert the ile flotante is just as it should be. Service was excellent, especially for a large group. Nice wine list. Highly recommended!

Don’t miss this place

We continue to have great service and great food here. Terrific staff, service is usually reliable and quick. Several notable items on the menu. Bar is excellent.

Short staffed?

Was seated for 30 minutes before waitress appeared. Manager did take our drink order about 20 minutes after seating. Food was good to excellent, noise atrocious. They need to correct that.

Charcuterie lovers UNITE!!

By The Irish Samoan |

***Atmosphere*** I first came here years and years ago when I was just getting into the restaurant scene, so it holds a special place in my memory as one of the first 10/10 amazing restaurant spaces I've been to. The white tiles, the red booths, the ceiling, even walking by the kitchen with the sausages hanging and the oysters on display - I love this place. Come here during Christmas time and it is effing magical. ***Food*** Oh. My. CHARCUTERIE!!! You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger and better charcuterie platter than this one - I wish I could cover myself in the pate and just live in it. Same goes for the entrees - I love the duck, cassoulet, and kobe beef cheek bourguignon as if they were my children..I don't even have children but this is the love I imagine I'd have for them. (quick tip - Rose flights during happy hour are a great way to pregame your night with your pinky out) ***Service*** If there's one thing I'd knock them for its that occasionally the service is off. Its not so much being attentive rather than being friendly..the servers can sometimes be a little cold. Has that made me stop going here on the reg? Heck no! Inject Bistro Niko into my veins!!!

Birthday Celebration

By Birdtrout |

Everything about our evening was perfect. The Trout and the Loup de Mer were absolutely delicious, and my husband commented several times about how wonderful the green beans served with the Trout. Far and away one of our favorite restaurants in the city. We return often.

Firing on all cylinders. Makes you remember why we all love Buckhead Life Group.

By Rebecca H |

Perfect evening. They gave us a lovely table with a biew of the Paris montage picture. Frise salad, shrimp and gougeres amazing. We all loved our entrees. Seafood tagliatelle, hangar steak, sea bass and foie gras with creamed spinach side. Great desert including wonderful crème brule and hot fudge sundae. Excellent service! Trina took great care of us. A memory to last a lifetime.

A Classic French Bistro!

By The Mighty Travelers |

Bistro Niko looks appealing from the outside but you never really know how authentic until you enter. To our surprise it was a very classic bistro from the decor to the French speaking wait staff we were very impressed. The selection of food and drinks also had a nice authentic flare. We had the Mustard Crusted Pork Belly and the Croque "Madame" which were quite amazing. Both were nicely done but the pork belly was to die for. This is a dish that should be nicely mixed and eaten together with everything on the plate. Our French inspired drinks were also quite amazing and refreshing. The atmosphere here is perfect as we overlooked the bar area with a nice view of our surroundings. They also have outside seating which we'll try the next time around. This French style bistro is highly recommended for brunch with friends on a Sunday morning.

Nothing to write home about

By tavaroo |

But I'm glad we were here. The escargot and lamb was great, I wish the duck had been a bit crispy but it was definitely not the worst I've had. I loved our waiter, and would definitely be back to give it another shot to make up for the additional stars

Birthday Surprise!!! 2/28/2021

By Paradise234507 |

I love reading books with interesting main Characters( A Man called Ova, Eleanor Oliphant) But, in real life we seldom run into these characters. Well, pay attention there is one of these characters that is a waiter at this restaurant ! For our 3 day weekend in Atlanta my daughter chose this restaurant as her Birthday Dinner. We sat down, ordered an appetizer and Cocktails( both quite good). When I asked about specials The Waiter informed in a loud voice that he could not tell me those for 15 minutes! So I said well if you have a fish special and you can drag your feet for 15 min. I would like that. He agreed. I finished my cocktail and the waiter came by and said" My you drank that awfully fast!!!" Things progressed smoothly until I asked for a cup of Hot Tea. He brings a box of tea bags whose labels were hard to read. He proceeds to inform me that We are in Covid precautions and he will have to throw out all the tea bags I touched!!! Why don't I just tell him what I want. Now this is a restaurant that still has laminated Menus and paper receipts! I could tell you this gentlemen's name but, I really do not want him fired. I just want you to be forewarned! Of course, I do wonder would he have treated a male in the same manner? The cost of and quality of the food is in line with all the fine dining restaurants in Atlanta. It was very nice of the Restaurant to provide a Birthday Surprise for my daughter.

Excellent

By 58DavidAthens |

The valet parking is very convenient. We were seated quickly, and waited upon very quickly. Our server made sure our meal was not rushed by not placing all our order at once. He recommended a very good wine. We shared a shrimp appetizer -- shrimp and tomatoes in a sauce -- very good. Endive salad was good . Our entrees were superb -- a Halibut special and Steak au Poivre. We finished off the meal with a very generous serving of lemon pie and sorbet.

Great Experience !!

By CobaltConnection |

Have dined here years ago and this time was just as good as our previous visit. High energy and very vibrant atmosphere. Service is top notch and professional. Our server Denise, was incredible ! And combined with fantastic food selections, she made our night.

Romantic and great service

By Vanessa G |

We booked a reservation and had dinner here for a special occasion. So glad we did because the place was very busy at 7pm on a Saturday. Try and sit in the main dining room in the center and not in the back/sides if you want a view of the beautiful bar/lights. If you want something more private, then try behind the bar, in the back area. The menu has many French options. We had the seafood tartine, onion soup, cocktails... everything was delicious. Even the bread and butter was great quality. Next time, I want to have drinks at the bar.

Great Atmosphere Fabulous Food and Kind Service

By Ronita Z |

We were at Bistro Niko Buckhead on NYE with friends. We had such a great time. Four courses dinner, decent price (compare to other restaurants) everything was perfect!!! The dimmed lighting, live music, and the food was very fresh and tasty!!! every dish was 5 stars, especially the Tuna Tartar!!! The service was pleasant kind and professional. Definatelly we'll go back !!!!

Nice Place for French Bistro Food

By triptraveller |

If you like French bistro food, Niko is a place to try. The menu has good range - and some specialties as well. Seating and atmosphere are comfortable - and service is good. One consideration: if seeking a quiet table, reserve in the smaller section of the restaurant, the area with the kitchen area visible.

Excellent food, good prices, excellent service

By tbidikov |

We have visited Bistro Niko many times over years but for some reason I had never sat down to write a review. They deserve an excellent review however. Interestingly the menu has not really changed much even though they do have specials every day. My wife is crazy about their foie gras, I like my raclette and we both like their specials. (last night it was red snapper). Most excellent. Prices are decent and wines are fine. Service is lovely. No fail. With so many choices in Atlanta sometimes I wonder how they manage to stay full. There was not a single vacant table on Saturday night. So don't procrastinate, have you a nice meal at Bistro Niko

wonderful Anniversary dinner

By Kim |

Fabulous Food & Outstanding Service. You won't be disappointed, everything we drank & ate was 5 star, champagne, wine, cheese puffs, tuna tartare, steak tartare, crab cake, sole, loup de mer. the service is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive but not snooty. the manager checked on us several times and even checked my coat. We will absolutely go back

An annoying loud but delicious experience

By NorthstarTravellers |

We arrived for dinner at 6 pm and were seated in a booth just next to the bar. There was a birthday gathering of office workers in the bar and noise was ridiculous. My wife and I could hear each other without shouting. Our poor waiter had to lean in over the table while we shouted at him to hear our order. That said, the food was reasonably priced (for the location) and very authentic for a French bistro experience. The duck breast was perfectly cooked with an interesting citrus spin on a traditional preparation. My wife had the trout and said it was delicious, too. The service was pleasant and attentive. Recommended but have a care with your seating location.

Must try!!!

By Hunter R |

My friend and I were in town for a week of work. We ended up eating dinner here 3 times! Every bite was incredible and very affordable. The $49 3 course meal felt like I was stealing from them at that price. Request Deon as your server, one the best waitresses I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! She even remembered our names from our previous visit, very impressed!

Great place for great food and celebrating with family

By Greg G |

Wonderful place! Very beautiful as you enter restaurant. Staff very friendly! Cocktails were delicious! Escargot en Croute were fabulous! Shrimp brique were heavenly and tasty! Trout Amandine, Veal Tenderloins, Bouillabaisse were divine and filling! Wonderful family celebration at a great restaurant! Great experience! Staff were very attentive and did a great job!

Not what it used to be

By Alice B |

My family and I dined at Bistro Niko last night. Although family members had previously dined there with somewhat positive experiences, our experience last night was far from positive. My son-in-law ordered a steak, and we were told that several steaks were sold out. We thought that was odd since it was only 6:30 PM. When our dinner was served,. all of the dishes were over cooked. My son-in-law wanted to send his state back, but our waitress never reappeared. My husband finally summoned another waiter to find our waitress. When she finally arrived, most of our family had finished eating. My son-in-law, at that point, decided there was no point in re-ordering his dinner. We will definitely never return. This might have been a good restaurant at some point, but the quality has definitely declined.

Noisy and pricey

By YoungOpa |

The noise level in this restaurant was unbearable. To begin with, we could barely hear our waitress. All our food was good except the duck which was inedible. The self parking fee was another $20 on top of the meal price….Not enjoyable

Very nice dinner !

By Daniel Freire |

Got to Niko after almost 3 years, and it continues to be one of my favorite places in Atlanta. For our luck, although we had no reservation, we managed to get a table straight away. Service was pristine as usual. The steak tartare continues to be the best starter. Steaks and paillards were the choices dor the night, excellent picks. If you are in Buckhead area, this is a must place !

Top notch French experience

By Brett B |

Caesar salad and French onion soup were both amazing!!! Such good food and service! Steak au Poivré was also very good. Definitely coming back.

Great food and atmosphere

By janiceh |

You really feel like you’ve arrived in Paris when u dine here. The food is excellent- I can’t pick a favorite bc it’s all so good but I do recommend getting the gougere (cheesy puffs) to munch on and the huge charcuterie platter to share. The wait staff is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive (without being intrusive). My favorite servers are Sherry, Jennifer, and Aubrey. The atmosphere is lively but not boisterous. There is often live music. The noise level could be a little softer but bc everyone is having such a good time, it’s ok. Valet parking only ($2). Located in Buckhead area of Atlanta close to both Lenox and Phipps malls and several hotels. If you like French food, I highly recommend coming here.

Don’t miss this gem in the Buckhead area!

By Maureen W |

We received this suggestion for lunch by a local business owner. Since it was a five minute walk from the hotel, we thought it was a perfect choice. The menu was broad and included salads, soups, sandwiches and entrees. The service was attentive - we had Lane as our server. Food came out quickly and all were satisfied with the quality and flavor on their plate. Cost was quite reasonable adding additional benefit!

Just too expense to eat here again, parking $14, tips on overpriced food, expect $200 for lunch

By G C |

It's just getting too expensive to eat here. Parking is $14, or deal with valet disappearing with your car, $30 tip on a $150 for a two meals, drinks and desserts. They look at you like you have two heads when you ask if they validate the parking ticket. Two hundred bucks for a meal you can get for half that anywhere else. Taking your car downtown is like having a third person. I pull in and the valet lane is completely congested. A valet kid plays chicken with me for going the wrong way as I tried to go around the valet mess, clogged lane, making me back out. This is snot nosed kid, playing chicken with someone else's car. You know what, I won't be back.

I will never forget this meal.

By nicole c |

My boss and his wife frequent this restaurant at least once a month and they had never taken me before, so they took me for my birthday. I had the french onion soup, even though I'm not a soup kinda girl. I had no idea that french onion soup was supposed to be that good. I had the Steak Au Poivre. I ordered mine medium and he said it would be pink. I wasn't expecting it to be that pink, but it was perfect for me. It wasn't rare, it was just all very pink. I knew I had made the right decision because I had tried both hers, (she had the duck) and his, (he had the trout) and I liked mine the best. I will eat anything and I rarely dislike anything, but I won't order the duck when I go back. It had a gamey taste to it and I can't do gamey. His trout was fantastic and I would definitely order that. I was full, but they offered me desert. I said, "Just bring me something, but don't bring the chocolate cake". How good can you make chocolate cake? And I just wanted something different. While ice cream with chocolate drizzled over it isn't that special, it sure as heck was. . . because it has candied almonds on it too. I ate it all. It was hard to breathe. I passed out 1 hour later.

Amazing Lunch

By DeepCDiver98 |

We've been to Bistro Niko for dinner, but this was the first time we had lunch there. We had the daily special which was SeaBass and both of us were just floored. Just exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant for either lunch or dinner. One of the better meals you will have. Keep in mind that sometimes it can get a little loud when it gets crowded.

A little bit of Paris in Buckhead GA

By BistroBarracuda |

After searching for something other than chain food and poor reviews of local shopping mall restaurants on a business trip to Atlanta, I discovered this French oasis in Buckhead. I’ve been spoiled by steak and frites in Paris so I tried the Salmon. It was excellent. Lightly pan seared over a bed of quinoa and lite vegetable. Concluded the meal with profiteroles (rarely found on menus). Comfortable atmosphere with reasonable prices ($$$ for the neighborhood but not for comparable meals in any major city. It’s well worth it). Friendly and attentive staff. Made the Sunday night business a whole lot better.

Not friendly

By lovelygem |

My dining experience at Bistro Niko was not pleasant. Although my server was good, some of the staff was not welcoming. I asked for lime and it was given to me in a paper napkin. Also, I was given dirty utensils.

Wretchedly disappointed

By AKiz |

Service was attentive and our waiter delightful. Food was uninspired bordering on dreadful. Sea bass, potatoes, spinach was all over cooked and drenched in salt. No distinguishing textures or flavors. Creme brûlée came strait from refrigerator- no creating the sugar crust before serving. I’ll no longer trust TripAdvisor ratings.

Great meal

By Italylover |

We had reservations and were seated quickly. The service was outstanding. The escargot was great as was the potato leek soup. The trout was perfectly cooked as was the steak fritte

Good food loud service needs refinement

By Alpert |

First timer. Server seemed routine but when I asked about side option was told have to make a decision before we close, really. When entrees came finished appetizer dishes we had to move to the side . Really. Beautiful quieter area available if one knows about it ahead . Should have that choice option if you know about it. Food quality was good but other Buckhead restaurants compete as well. May come back and try the refine back dining area and give service chance again But it will be awhile . Too many restaurant choices.

Wonderful!

By JandD93 |

Ate here on date night, food was WONDERFUL! Nice ambiance, easy access off Peachtree, complimentary valet. Service was a little slow, but taste and quality of food more than made up for it. Nice menu. Although they do have some of the standard "fru-fru" French dishes, there are lots of options. Felt like fine dining, but prices were very reasonable.

A place where conversations are impossible

By George M |

Upscale restaurant, good location, easy access, above average wait service, but one of the nosiest restaurants I have ever visited. Our dinner companion is a softly spoken person who after a two hour dinner, I have no idea what she ever said. Yelling was the only means to communicate. I could not wait for dinner to finish. Will not return during the dinner crush. Just not enjoyable.

Mais Oui bien sûr!

Always delicious food, a warm welcome from Tommy the manager, and outstanding service! I’ve been a regular here for 15 years now and the food is always consistently excellent. Fresh fish, soups, salads and their delicious sourdough baguette! My husband loves the steak frites, Mom loves the GA mountain trout and I love the soups and tartes. Sunday jazz brunch is a festive experience!

France this is not

By Wendy G |

A friend and I cam here for a dinner before a movie as it was recommended by staff at the Intercontinental. The server we were assigned was very friendly and explained the somewhat confusing menu to us very patiently. In the end I decided to try the French Onion soup and the Caesar salad even though they were out of white anchovies for the top. Clearly I have become accustomed to the richer beefier broth of Americanized French Onion soup because this broth was too sweet and buttery for my taste. I often make my own Caesar dressing from scratch so I was eager to try theirs. Sadly it really did not pass muster either. We also ordered the Cheese puffs which were tasty but too cool when they came to the table. My friend ordered the leg of lamb sandwich. The presentation of this was disappointing for a French restaurant and she almost spit out her first bite but she valiantly kept chewing until she could swallow. She said it was tasteless and far too chewy. Our formerly friendly server became scarce after I did not like the soup. He would look at us from across the room and the disappear. Finally he came to the table where we told him all our woes. Then we waited at least 10 minutes before the manager arrived. We had a discussion that was in my opinion way too lengthy with him, The he disappeared as well mumbling about adjustments. Meanwhile we were watching the clock tick down for our movie. Eventually the server appeared and said that it had all been taken care of but why that took so long I still do not know. We missed the movie and had no food. It was a very disappointing choice.

FELT LIKE WE WERE IN PARIS and WE WERE IN BUCKHEAD

By JMICHAEL |

Beautifully decorated and as soon as you enter it feels Parisian. We started with 2 appetizers. The French Onion soup was delicious and topped with Gruyere cheese. Also had the ROAST PORK BELLY MUSTARD CRUSTED. I then has a salad with pickled baby beets, goat cheese, mâche lettuce, vinaigrette. Also ENDIVE rouge et noir bleu cheese, walnuts, apple. Both very good. For entree I had the TROUT AMANDINE sauteed, toasted almonds, french green beans, citrus olive oil emulsion and my wife had the VEAL TENDERLOINS CHASSEUR sauteed ~ mushrooms, tomato, confit potatoes in white wine veal jus. Excellent again!. We were not going to have dessert because we were stuffed but in France must have cheese at the end so we had three selected French cheeses, fresh candied fruit, pistachio & raisin walnut toast. A wonderful evening.

Another great experience!

By John D |

Enjoyed good cocktails, wine, food and service. The hamburger was great and the lamb sandwich was as well. Had a great time as always.

Great french inspired bistro

By michaelrp2018 |

Great atmosphere - good menu - simple, fast service all round good value with quality presentation and ingredients. French inspired salmon pizza - very tasty

so so

By Caroline B |

We went for dinner with friends. The waitress was very knowledgeable and efficient. the service was quick. The ingredients were good quality(meat, scallops,...) it was well cooked (beef, veal, fish) but unfortunately all the sauces were a little artificial. I might be wrong but I have the feeling they were not home made. At least I didn t like them (white wine sauce for scallops or peper sauce for beef) The chocolate sauce for the profiteroles was good but the pastry might have been frozen Therefore not bad but it isn't worth the price

Happening spot

By Phamus |

We went with a large group to Niko and it was a fun and lively spot. We had a bit of a wait to get in but had a fun time waiting in the bar as our server was very good and came up with some good suggestions. Our servers at the dinner table were very good we started with a bunch of appetizers I had a 1/2 dozen oysters they were very good. My dinner was excellent but the presentation was all wrong. A trout almondine with the almonds placed on top of the fish's skin, yuck. I don't know who eats the skin/ but not me, so I had to scrape the almonds off of the fish scrape of the skin and then try and find the almonds again. The fish was delish the brown butter sweet the fingerling potatoes were cold and so were the green beans. Now I cook trout all of the time and serve it open face with skin down and the almonds on top and it makes for an easy way to eat it right off of the skin. So please chef get with it this is a good dish that you are ruining.

Great food, pretty space, excellent service, live jazz - top notch brunch experience!

By lgwvirginia |

We love this restaurant and have chosen Bistro Niko to celebrate several events, including New Years Eve dinner, in the past, but for brunch last weekend they totally outdid themselves. We were a large party of family and friends, and Ryan singlehandedly took great care of us - drinks, explaining specials, bringing refills - friendly and efficient service with a smile. and the food was, as always, delicious! Benedicts, omelettes, croque madame - all superb. Beautiful space, live jazz, great service and excellent food - Bistro Niko remains a family favorite. Highly recommend!

Loved our recent dining experience at Bistro Niko! Service was spot on and provided by Donnie! The food was out of this world! My husband and I enjoyed the French Onion Soup and the Escargot and shared both. I savored the Scallops and sneaked a bite of my husband's Ahi Tuna. Both were absolutely delicious. We are already looking forward to a return. If you are looking for a more romantic, quiet and elegant atmosphere, do ask for the dining room directly opposite the hostess stand. For a more vibrant and loud atmosphere, sit in the main dining room. Enjoy!

80s French cuisine

By Cosimo M |

Very large place in a central area of Atlanta. Everything is very 80s, from the environment to the cuisine, from the music to the waiters. The food is of decent quality but should be cooked in a more modern way. Service quite fast but very friendly. Prices in the high American average.

Lovely dinner

By Lu_ibata |

I went with my office colleagues as my first dinner in Atlanta office. It was lovely food, drinks and service! We all had different type of food between fish and meet. Definitely I’ll be back!

No hesitation. And Nikki rules.

By MBA-OGTA |

Four hospitality leaders in the area gave up their business to point me to Bistro Niko - duh. 100% recommendation. And. Ask for Nikki as your server - 13 years with the place and it shows. Heartily recommend. Tha k you for making our daughters night, Nikki…

Lovely food and ambiance

By Ritu |

We had lunch- beautiful ambiance, very nice staff (they were trying to entertain our crabby baby) and the food was excellent. We had the gazpaccho soup, fish, steak and mussels- all were lovely.

Steak au Poivre melts in your mouth

By Karen W |

My boyfriend & I decided to treat our dear friends to an anniversary dinner but not the usual, rather a very special occasion- their 50th wedding anniversary. I have been to Bistro Niko twice before & enjoyed both times. They allowed us to bring our own bottle of wine (we had to pay the corking fee of $20). Our server, Nicky, was very attentive & helpful in selecting our dinner. We took his suggestion & ordered Steak au Poivre ( steak w/ pepper corn sauce) accompanied by a delicious spinach & mushrooms. I don’t care for mushrooms but they were happy to give me a substitution- a bed of mashed potatoes. This was preceded by a salad Nicky liked- apples in Sherry w/ crumbled bleu cheese. It was exceptional & was a hearty portion. We had Profiteroles for dessert. Again, a super Nicky suggestion. The experience was delightful! We already want to return ASAP!

Excellent Experience

By Tyler S |

We decided to dine at Bistro Niko because it was conveniently located near our hotel. The atmosphere was divine and we easily got a table without reservations on a Saturday. Our server was very courteous and attentive. He recommended a nice Riesling for me and a cocktail for my sister, which she loved. Our dinner was delicious; I ordered the Coq Au Vin and my sister ordered Lamb Chops. It was a bit noisy; however the location, service, and food were great! We will definitely be back.

Always Fantastic

By Colleen R |

Bistro Niko is always fantastic. We've been there many, many times and never experienced an off night. My go to favorite is the Georgia Trout. Also good is the Chicken Paillard. It is hard not to fill up on the fantastic bread, it is very good. We like dessert as well - all are authentic french. The profiteroles are great, as is the creme brulee. If you're looking for something different, try the bab rhum. A nice touch is the no charge sparkling water brought to the table by the bottle. That is always a great treat.

Simply wonderful French cuisine

By billmoll |

Most of the table ordered fish and everyone raved. The vegetable side dishes were not overly cooked. The dessert, profiteroles, was not a disappointment, but I've had better.

Dinner for 3

By Nuha K 56 |

Nice french style restaurant with good food. I ordered the trout, my husband and son ordered the duck. Very nice and tasty. F9r appetizers we got the frech soup. It was ok. And the crab cake it was delicious.

Incredible

My wife and I had dinner on our first anniversary. The food was as good as what we had in Paris on our honeymoon.

very tasty dinner in a nice and relaxing environment

By peterkaren2018 |

we went here on Friday around 6pm. It was not crowded (maybe 65% booked). Our waiter was very attentive and accomodating. We ordered several starters, a salad and the bouillabaisse. The ceasar salad was very good, fresh and the dressing was just right. we had the fried oysters which were great. The porkbelly was a little overpowered by the mustard but very well prepared. The tartar was just the way i like it. Then we were getting full (we split everything), and our server was waiting with our next course, giving us enough time to really enjoy. The bouillabaisse was tasty and very good, except for the piece of white fish which was tough. for desert we had the il flotante.and coffee. it's like eating a sweet cloud: great and light desert.

Perfect anniversary dinner.

If you are looking for Paris without going to Paris, Bistro Niko is the spot. We walked in and i thought i was in a Parisian restaurant. They are proud f their kitchen, you can see it through a glass wall. The service was excellent and the food very good. Steak tartare fresh to mix yourself, mussels, Seared Foie Gras, fresh baked bread, everything was pleasant to eat and well presented. The cappuccino at the end of the meal made me feel back in France.

Good atmosphere, excellent food.

By Steeleboss316 |

Bistro Niko is a great spot for classic French cuisine. The dining room is clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly, accommodating, and attentive. The Coq au Vin (classic red wine braised chicken) is outstanding! In fact, I have yet to have a disappointing meal. I would recommend Bistro Niko to anyone and look forward to my next visit.

Great food and service every time

By Patsybh |

Bistro Niko consistently has good food and excellent service. My favorites are lamb chops, bouillabaisse and chucaterre boards. Great drinks as well.

Best meal of our visit!

By MexRazor |

After a number of years of visiting the Buckhead area of Atlanta for business conferences and walking right by Bistro Niko for some reason, we finally decided to give it a try and realized that we had been missing one incredible dining experience all along. The ambience is very open, light and airy with great decorating touches all around to give a bistro feel. The place itself is much larger than it appears from the street. I decided to order a couple of classics in order to see about authenticity...French onion soup and a croque madame. The soup was probably the best one I have had outside of France. Perfectly seasoned and with an abundance of gruyere cheese browned nicely on the toasted bread as well as throughout the soup as I worked my way down to the last drop. The croque madame was topped with a perfect sunny side up egg whose yolk gave a wonderful creaminess to the rest of the sandwich. The ham and gruyere were very high quality and the bread very tasty and perfectly toasted. My companions tried the steak frite and the burger americain and they were both extremely happy with their meals. We shared the profiteroles which had a fresh tasting french vanilla ice cream center covered with a delectable choux pastry and covered with an amazing bitter chocolate sauce with almonds which helped balance the sweetness of the ice cream. Really regret not having dined here on my prior trips but so look forward to doing so many times in the future. There are so many other items on the menu and I am dying to try.

Great Experience

By chefluee |

Can't wait to return. We haven't been here in a few years and shame on us. We met friends and everyone raved about the food. You know, I love a place that remains a bit flexible. We arrived at noon and were promptly seated in a very comfortable booth. Cocktails and wine came so all we're happy. I asked for a dinner item and there was no problem. My special request arrived prior to lunch arriving and everyone was in awe...two perfectly cooked Gougeres which are light gruyere cheese puffs. Oh my, there were fantastic. We ordered two of the grilled Maine Sea Scallops St. Jacques, the Crisped Duck Confit and an order of the Broiled Hanger Steak with frites. I believe the scallop entrees where the hit of the table. Each plate had 7 huge scallops perfectly cooked. There is something to be said for presentation and this place gets an A+. The confit of duck pulled apart with ease and the taste was wonderful. I did not taste the Broiled Hanger steak as it looked a little rare for me(that was the way it was ordered). And not a morsel left. Sadly to say, no room for desserts. Julian our server was great. Atmosphere was humming and had the typical French feel. Highly recommend. Can't wait to return.

Don’t call it an entree

By Shawn B |

The gulf shrimp entree would have been great for my 7 year old boy. Although I’m sure he would have asked for dessert. 6-7 shrimp, 3 halves of fingerling potatoes, and a bit of chopped tomatoes isn’t what I would call an entree but these guys do. Ambiance is nice and they had St. Bernardus 12 Trappist beer on tap but that’s it.

So Good.

By Anthony S |

This place was so good. We had the crab cake for a starter and it was outstanding. I had the cow a vin and it was exceptional. My wife had the veal tenderloin and loved it. The service was also impeccable.

Fun French Restaurant

By Travelingbear1000 |

Fun French restaurant. Delicious chicken and salads. Excellent service. They make a great French 75. Restaurant was loud. Choose outdoor seating if possible.

Outstanding

By Dawn M |

I'm a foodie and quite critical when I eat out. This restaurant blew me away. Food was outstanding and impeccable service. The skate is a must try dish!

Good but expensive

By Alex S |

The place really looks like French brasserei because of typical small ceramic tiles on the walls. We went for salmon, pepper steak and sea bass, and all was very good. Stags' leap Chardonnay from Napa Valley was very good as well. As for the prices, $26 for fish and $56 for bottle of wine is a good level for Switzerland and seems to be quite high for the US.

The Bistro Feel

By Teamroberts5 |

Smart, fun, dynamic, yet casual place with delicious food and an excellent wine list. Escargot, mussels and steak all deliciously prepared. Don’t miss the crepe brûlée- clearly made with passion. They are happy to split orders if you want a lighter dinner or want to sample more choices. Pleasant service; attentive but not hovering. Nice tables in the bar and patio but for a more comfortable evening I’d recommend reservations. You’ll enjoy it. Promise.

I wouldn’t go back

By TravelLover629 |

Not what I expected. Beautiful decor but everything other than omelets was barely warm. Someone had a pork dish that was paper thin and hard as could be. Waiter was great but that doesn’t make up for the food. Had a live band which was wonderful but very loud

Cute place

By Nancy L |

Cute place with friendly fast service. Great wine. Hanger steak is good if the get it right the first time. Good fries. The Caramel Sunday was amazing.

Fabulous French cuisine!

By TrvlNDuo |

We love a good French restaurant and this place did not disappoint! We started with escargot and foie gras. Yum! We ordered the Gougères, which are light gruyère cheese puffs, a must try! For dinner we had Beef Cheek Bourguignon and Coq Au Vin. Both were rich with deep flavors! Next time we are in Atlanta, we will certainly return!

La delicious

Taste of France while Visiting Buckhead ? Hard to believe but you will be happy you did. Traditional dishes with interstellar twists. Reasonable wine list and great ambience and locale. Bon Appetite.

Great French bistro

By 141Dini |

We were waiting for our hotel room and they recommended this restaurant for lunch. We had some delicious oysters to start. They were bellens and wonderful. Service was very friendly and the restaurant made you feel like you were in Paris. The onion soup was great as were the fried oysters. The mussels and French fries were yummy. Someone had coq au vin and another the Reuben sandwich. All great. They also have a terrace if you want enjoy the warm weather. Highly recommended

French Gem

By VMVMadison |

My husband and I dined at Bistro Niko on June 14th, and it was wonderful. We appreciate seating in the dining area closest to the Host Stand for it offers a quieter dining experience allowing conversation. Mr. Billy, the Server, excels at Customer Service. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and attentive. For appetizers recommend TARTE AUX CHAMPIGNON (seasonal mushrooms) and entrees COQ AU VIN (chicken braised in red wine, Parisian mushrooms, pearl onions, steamed potatoes), a French classic, and perfectly prepared, flavorful TOURNEDOS AU POIVRE (twin beef tenderloins 8 oz, pepper crusted, brandied cream mushrooms, sauteed spinach). For dessert? A special. Delicious Peach Cake. Highly recommend dining at Bistro Niko.

My husband and I decided to

By Whitney B |

My husband and I decided to spend our 10year Anniversary here because when we saw the menu on line it intrigued us. We are booth adventurous with food and excited to try some of there dishes. Sherry was our waitress and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We decided to just have an array of appetizers and oysters. I am very fond of escargot and don’t find it done well very many places, when I saw that is said in garlic butter I was excited but when it arrived at the table the sauce was green I assumed it was pesto but it definitely over powered the taste of the escargot. Next we had the blue point oysters and the specialty oysters of the night I would say the blue points were the highlight of the night all I can say about the other oysters were they reminded me if the smell at Seaworld. We received our cheese plate ( mystery cheese no explanation ) and the pork belly. Pork belly was bland, sauce was tasteless and the pickled vegetables were sparse. Overall we were unimpressed even saw the GM walking around without his face shield on at one point.

French onion soup- a must!!

By Julie U |

Detail to service could use some work. A little slow to deliver drinks. Overall food was great!!Tables were small for our party of 6. But we were outside. I highly recommend the French onion soup.

Glad I tried it

By LivDaley |

It wasn’t on my list but Chops with which it is affiliated was. It was around the corner from my hotel and was always packed. So, I tried it. Its a large attractive bistro. The steak au poive was only $30 which was a bargain compared to the other local steak houses prices. And, the steak was nice and juicy.

Very French.

By Charles M |

Very French menu and wine list. Excellent service and food prep and presentation. Wine list is pricey. Nice atmosphere but extremely noisy in the main dining area. Nice selection of fresh oysters. Overall an excellent restaurant. Relax and enjoy the evening.

A Real Bistro

By Nick L |

Transplanted from the Champs Elysee, a real French bistro, and a nice respite from steak houses and Italian fare. French country dishes, reasonable prices and snappy service. Truly worth a visit. Biggest problem? Deciding against the Coq au Vin, in favor of the six or seven other delightful dinners!

Nothing French & delicious about it

By AUROBINDO S |

I was expecting better. Uniformly awful experience. The restaurant was mostly empty, but even with that, the service was slow and had to be called for. The charcuterie board was not bad (but then again, how hard is that!). The entrees - sigh. Coq au vin was bland and wine-y. Salmon was also just baked with no other spices. The pork cutlet was buttery and fatty. The duck confit was the only bright spot here. The ambience is just so-so. The service was mediocre at best. The food was awful. Maybe I'm the outlier (seeing all the other reviews), but there you have it.

Great Food, Excellent Service

By Tatiana G |

We had lunch with my friend from New York. The food was good, the service was great as well. The escargot and duck were delicious. Since my friend needed gluten free meal, and it was available it was very important factor to choose this place for our lunch.

Leftover served $150 tasting menu

By Chuck B |

Service was good, no issues there. The food and seating, however, were not good at all. I was not told it was a 150. Tasting menu for the night, but I had a reservation and was from out of state, so I decided to still have our date night dinner there no problem. We sat at the 1st little round table, which was the size of a tea table, something you would find outside a small coffee shop. Ok, but it faced towards the entrance hallway. It might have been a nice-looking restaurant, I wouldn't know as it was all behind me. I'll post a Pic if I can. We literally face the reception desk due to how the chairs were placed and facing the actual restaurant was behind us. I made a comment when we were sat and was told we get to people watch.. I was there to enjoy the food and ambiance. So that brings us to the food. We received our appetizers before the amuse, and I had the crab cake it was freshly made and good. The amuse did come out to us 2 mins later as 1 fried shrimp it was also good. I ordered the chicken, which was very dry, and no flavor at all it was pre cut as well. My desert was the bread pudding, which was also hard and dry with no cream sauce on it. My wife had the duck, which was tough to chew and very under cooked her desert was the creme brulee. This was a French restaurant, and you can't even make a creme brulee. The sugar should be torched to a hard shell, but what we got was a soft, soupy mess. The waiter knew we were very unhappy we didn't eat anything for the most part management never came over to see why we were unhappy. I feel, and I'm sure I'm right that this was a Valentine's leftover menu and food. Everything seemed to be just reheated from the night before. I don't expect such bad food when I'm paying 400+ dollars for two people. This will forever be the benchmark bad food and restaurants. I will never, never go back. I was so mad....

Special spot

By mangoeiscream |

Ate here 3 times during our week spent in Buckhead. Impeccable service, lovely space and yummy food. The restaurant has a large seating capacity and is extremely well run with short wait times even when full. We loved being able to bring our doggie on the patio, and they were friendly and provided water bowls to her each time. The carafes are a must, especially the St. Germain special for brunch with friends. We also really enjoyed the seafood, and the Croque madame is the best I've had in the USA. Highly recommend!

Awesome EuroFrench Cuisine

By Gregory A |

This is another great concept by the Buckhead life group... we arrived and were greeted warmly and seated promptly. all silverware was served in paper, i'm assuming to show it was sanitized... we like to share items so we started with dirty vodka martini with the most amazing blue cheese stuffed olives... perfect balance of brine to vodka.... next we had the mussels in a garlic wine cream sauce... the mussels were cooked perfectly and large... all of them were open and easy to eat... next we had the swiss racelette (which I had the first time in Amsterdam)... this is almost like a swiss fondue but with a nice golden crust on top, served with french baguette slices... last we had the beat salad which was split for us to easily eat... we were going to have another dish, but we had to save room for dessert which was a crispy, creamy creme brûlée that was just perfect... paired it all with a bottle of Stags Leap Chardonnay.. the service by "KG" was great and attentive... we would definitely go back...

Bad experience

By jjpinney |

No one greeted us upon entry, we had to go search for a host. The pork chop was very tough, the specialty cocktail was absolutely horrible. Very expensive for what you got.

Another great visit

By John D |

Super cocktails and the best oysters I’ve ever had. Service was outstanding despite a busy day. I’ve been here many times and always a pleasure. Everything on the diverse menu is good, so whatever you’re looking for can be found and enjoyed.

Excellent food and service

By thefrenchguy2015 |

This was our first visit to this Bistro - personnel was very friendly and helpful - very polite too. The service was fast and food was excellent. We were not rush by the server and we took our time to enjoy and wonderful dinner.

Wonderful find after a long road trip

By Mary M |

I am on my way to Savannah and stopped in Atlanta overnight. What a wonderful find so close to my hotel! I was greeted right away and asked to sit at the bar because I was alone. I was greeted by multiple bartenders immediately with a menu and a glass of water. I was kind of suprised that the restaurant was not more full. I ordered Skate Fish because I never get to indulge where I live in the Midwest. It was absolutely delicious and buttery with capers , spinach and fingerling potatoes. I definitely recommend this place for natives and all travelers like myself!

Bistro Niko Qui, Qui

By Victor W |

While in Atlanta to attend a wedding on our last day we went to Bistro Niko for brunch. The restaurant’s ambiance is very nice with scenes of Paris, France. We all started with a cup of their Pano’s Private Reserve Coffee which is a house blend. For myself to have three cups it must be good. I ordered the Croque “Madam” Knife & Fork Sandwich consisting of mournay glazed ham and Gruyère cheese. The dish came with fries and a vinaigrette salad. Enjoyed this dish very much. Others in our party had the Same Eggs Benedict and mustard crusted pork belly. All enjoyed their selections. Our waiter was excellent. Suggest if you are in the Buckhead area of Atlanta this is a must do.

Best food we have had in US

Best food we have had in US so far. Steak and duck both cooked perfectly. Lovely accompaniments. Great sundaes as deserts. Absolutely perfect.

Start of a poor experience

By Larry O |

Had reservations for 4 for brunch. Waited for almost 15 minutes and asked "Why? What's happening?". Was told "we are waiting for a window seat to open". Asked "Why? We didn't ask for a window seat." They seated us immediately after. Don't recommend, as hostess is lost.
