Great Italian fare in a uniquely decorated establishment. Don't let the décor or the storefront dissuade you this is seriously good Italian fare. From the fresh bread and salad to their entrees. I settled for the pasta with and assortment of fresh mushrooms in a rich cream sauce, very earthy and wow for flavor. The wife selected the Margarita Pasta - excellent marinara sauce. Our friends were also very pleased with the elk based pasta and a spicy seafood entrée. A keeper near the heart of the University of Washington.

I've been going here for a few years now. The food is always delicious, the wine is good and the service is acceptable. I've never been when its not busy so the service might be better during slower times. There's typically a wait so I always keep that in mind. My husband loves the Caesar salad, the elk and the lamb, and I love the gnocchi and the lasagna. One of these times I'll try something else as I'm sure it's all amazing.

Our party of four enjoyed a great dinner. This was my husband's and my first visit to Bizzarro. Our son lives in the area and had been there before. My walnut pesto was delicious. The 4 times citrus cheese cake (something like that) was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. The ambience is a hoot and the menu continues the fun. I will definitely return on my next visit to Seattle.

Eclectic decor and snarky staff meld perfectly! I had clams and linguine. Other reviews stated clams were sandy, however mine were excellent and prepared to perfection. Beet salad was delectable! Contrast of gnocchi and sauce were a perfect combination (soft pillowy with rich sauce). Will be returning!

This was our third visit to Bizzaro's: the first two were before the Food Network and DDD "discovered" this place. On this visit, the main courses were good, but not excellent: the forest floor mushroom entree and the clam linguini were not bad, but not up to previous standards - maybe because we were there on a Tuesday night? not the best night for restaurant highlights. The special handkerchief pasta with tomatoes was deemed good, as was the seasonal pesto ravioli. Upgraded caprese salads were excellent. Highlight of meal waa dessert - for people who don't usually order it - a marvelous cheese plate: more generous than most places (incredible Oregon Bleu, with two other cheeses), sweet roasted pecans, grapes, two sweet dipping sauces. Delightful server, attentive service to full water glasses: still a worthwhile place to dine, even if not so great as before. Go for the fun of the place and enjoy a very good meal at a reasonable price.

This is easily one of the funkiest places I've ever been. The place is plastered with trinkets and a recording of Allen Ginsberg reading "Howl" was playing in the toilet. Usually places like this have the vibe but the food and service is lacking. Not here. Excellent service and excellent food. There is simply nothing I can fault it for. Outstanding place.

We started with bread as soon as we sat down. It was thick, tender and flavorful. I ordered Bruchetta and Aracini for appetizers and they both were very good. My son had clams with linguine. He said it was great. I had the forest frenzy. It was wonderful. My husband had a pasta dish and added chicken. My daughter in law had chicken Marsala and they both were pleased This restaurant had a funky vibe but great food. The only thing i didnt care for was the house salad. We all had dessert. I can only speak to mine. I had the banana cheesecake and it was HEAVENLY!! Our server was top notch! Our servero

As tom would say.... slammin.... 1st time I clicked on one of the best meals ive ever had. go there and waitfor a table. explore the neighborhood

This place has great food and a fun atmosphere. We got the forest floor frenzy pasta and a snap pea pasta and both were delicious. We tried the bananas foster and cheesecake desserts and both were good, but nothing special. However, the quality of the pastas made up for what the desserts lacked.

With all the great reviews (and Guy's strong recommendation), we were really looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. We had the rice balls, eggplant and the "famous" linguine with clam sauce. I cannot say that I liked any of the three dishes. Sorry. The staff was delightful. The atmosphere is bizarre, but fun. But the food was not great.

The kitschy decor is always a treat. The pasta was great. The salad was a disappointment. The wine list is short but satisfying.

My family ordered food to go or for delivery from Bizzarro once a week from March 2020 through June 2021. It was a sustaining ritual. The whole menu is great and we each have our favorites. Some of the seasonals and specials stand out, too - like the election week pork special, and the kale agli-oglio, and all of the pesto variations. But it’s the meatballs that I dream about.

This is a wonderfully unique and wacky place. The decor is eclectic and fun. But the food & wine is serious business with most of the food made from scratch. The gluten free options are many - they even make their own fresh gluten-free pasta. Would love to go back. We were staying in Fremont so we were lucky to have this place on our doorstep.

This is such a neat place and I can see why Diner’s Drive-in’s and Dives highlighted it. I came by myself during a business trip and had to wait for about 45 minutes to get seated. Not too many seats in the place as it is obviously very popular. It was certainly worth the wait. The décor is a crazy abundance of antique lights and chandeliers surrounded by a room full of obscure black and white photos and paintings with no particular rhyme or reason but somehow make sense. The staff was very friendly and attentive and what I like about the room the most was that there was a garage style door that opened right up to the outside so, even inside in a very crowded area, you felt spacious and comfortable. It was fun to eat here. I had a pasta dish with some white wine which was very tasty. I did think the pasta was a little bit bland (it was homemade but some seasoning would have been nice) but overall the meal was good and it is certainly worth the experience. I found the price to be pretty reasonable too. Not sure if they take reservations or not but if you are going with a crowd, prepare yourself for a bit of a wait. This place is popular. I will certainly go back if in town again.

We drove 15 minutes north of Downtown Seattle to find Bizzarro. Our party of four showed up on a Thursday night around 7pm without a reservation and was seated in 25 minutes. The eclectic decor suggests someone had a shopping spree at the thrift store, and the crowded, noisy dining room brings out the fun, party spirit within. The menu is just right. Not so many choices that it takes an hour to read them, but enough selection to please everyone. We all chose from the pasta selections and tired each other’s dish. The Clam Linguini was a little too salty from the house cured pancetta, but everyone agreed the winner was the Forest Floor Frenzy. The portions sizes are moderate with bread and house salad included. The service was friendly and attentive to our needs. Overall the food is good but in my opinion there are some better Italian restaurants in Seattle. The experience was pleasant but I’ll remember the restrooms (you have to check them out) more that I’ll remember the food.

I'm a big Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives fan and this restaurant was delicious and had a great atmosphere! Would totally recommend and if the salmon ravioli is on the menu you must try!

The food was delicious! The bread was awesome with the oil and balsamic. The salads were crispy fresh perfectly seasoned. The pest ravioli and the lasagna were out of this world. The portions were on the perfect to large side. Alas, we had no room for dessert but we saw some of the other desserts and they looked scrumptious! Great location to use lyft or uber. We sat at the open wall and the day was lovely!

Bizzar it is the ambience. But that is what makes this place great to visit. A European feeling. Food is very good even though maybe a little bit too much garlic for me. Loved the relaxed service.

I had the linguine with clams and could not stop myself from dipping bread into the sauce, even after I was full. The service here is great and the ambience is a lot of fun.

Picked this place from Trip Advisor. Wanted dinner after a Musical downtown on a Sat. Super choice on my part. Party of 4, no waiting(if you arrive around 5pm), attentive staff, and yes, it's kinda funky. All four meals were excellent. Good advice from the waitress and we didn't wait too long for our meal. Parking can be a challenge but you can find a place in the neighborhood streets. Almost forgot the Tiramisu. You will find all kinds of versions of this famous dessert out there but this placed nailed it. The one order for 4 pers was almost too much. Thank heavens I was at the table to finish it off. Great place to take a date. Nuff said??

My wife and I have been to Bizzarro's many times and we always feel that we have had a terrific meal. Fresh pasta with great sauces, terrific salads and desserts make it a "go to" place for us. My wife clams that the pasta and clams are the best she has ever had, and she has sampled this dish all over the world. The pasta ribbons with truffle oil is superb. A fine Italian meal in a funky environment.

We tried to go to Bizzarro Italian Cafe for Dinner and were told there would be over an hour wait so we ended up trying again the next night and were seated right away. We ordered the ravioli and the lasagna. I was very pleased with mine and thought my husband's lasagna was pretty good also but he was not too impressed with the food in comparison with the price. Our waitress was very nice but very busy. We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was AWESOME!! The price was a little higher than we are use to but it was very good and I really enjoyed my dining experience.

We had a party of 10. We did make a reservation a day in advance so they were able to accommodate us easily. The food was absolutely delicious and desert was also great. Big generous portions of all. The art hanging around the place is definitely strange but some of it is hilarious to look at. The price is a little on the higher side but for the portion size and quality I didn’t feel like it was out of bounds.

The perfect place on a cold, drizzly evening. Inside is all warm light, great scents, and muted conversation amid funky décor. The waitstaff was very attentive. And the food was excellent. My wife loved her GF pasta.

Absolutely amazing place!! Great food service and wine. The decor....well a little bizarre but incredible experience. The focaccia bread is among the best in any city. The lasagne and pasta dishes we tried were absolutely incredible. This has to be the best Italian food in the greater Seattle area. And super affordable too. Can't wait to come back!!

Enjoyable place to eat... good food but I found the menu very limited, it could do with a few more dishes..This place was on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I think I expected a bit more so it fell short of my expectations..Could have also done with a bit more taste to the food.... Best thing, no use of the mobile/cell phone or you get fined $5,, great idea.... Decore here was brilliant, good atmosphere.....

Excellent in all departments. Food, Atmosphere, Staff, Wines, Decor, Music: all 5 star. I have no complaints, (and I usually do) just wish I lived near this place. Efficient service, and the soundtrack and crazy fun decor made it a gas. Not a cheap meal, but it is Seattle, so it will be West Coast pricing. Considering the quality of the food, it was great.

Before 6 pm you'll be seated, otherwise you'll wait. Overall, this popular Italian café is quaint, rose-colored within a kitsch atmosphere. For instance, from the ceiling hangs an upside down rickshaw with a human skeleton. Interesting displays, but if you look more closely you may be offended. No Italian music here, instead I heard rock and Smoke on the Water. Two of us ordered the special on the chalkboard: "Baked Balls with meatballs, ceppo pasta tossed with marinara sauce covered with mozzarella cheese and baked." Delicious and took half home. Our other friend chose a baked squash dish with angel hair pasta. The squash was good, but the sauce was too spicy. The meal's petite starter salad, exceptional in appearance and taste, donned a thin slice of wide carrot on the greens. A small garlic loaf with a garlic clove inside proved satisfying dipping in the saucer of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For dessert the pistachio gelato from Fainting Goat pleased, even topped with a tiny cookie. Our server was pleasant and food came quickly. So instead of cooking at home borrow Bizzarro at least once.

The Kids took us there for Father's Day. We arrived there about 15 minutes before opening time (5:00 pm) and were greeted by a line of 5 or 6 parties who were already ahead of us in line. The line rapidly got longer, and by opening time there were enough people there to pretty much fill all of the tables. After reading all to the positive reviews here on trip advisor or expectations were high and, since we purposely skipped lunch in anticipation of an excellent meal, we were eager with hunger and anticipation. Unfottunately, the meal was a big letdown compared to our expectations. We ordered the "special" fruit-based" appetizer which turned out to be a relatively tasteless fruit cocktail. The wine by the glass (we tried a white and a red) was just OK, borderline unacceptable. My wife had the vaunted gnocci dish, which was just OK. I orderded the lasagna looking forward to the highly reviewed red sauce, but the sauce was over salted and contained way too much garlic, which made its taste almost bitter and caused a bit of acid reflux for several hours after the meal. The lasagne also contained a relatively tasteless riccota filling (possibly overwhelmed by the aggressively garlickly red sauce) and a very stingy layer of ground beef which was nearly undectable and, again, devoid of flavor. Since it was Sunday, my Son ordered the meatball special, which, again was not big deal. It appeared that the red sauce was different than that used on my lasagna. If the sauce was not different, it at least must have come from a different batch, as it was not as garlicky as that on my lasagna, but, again, nothing special. The meatballs themselves were tender and moist, but not particularly flavorable. The meatball dish certainly did not live up some of the raves found on this site. Theservice was just OK, with our waitress (who was NOT jovial or entertaining) being relatively compentent with the exception of taking an excessive amout of time ot get a simple reorder of bread. When I questioned her if she remembered our order, she said, Oh yeah. I haven't forgotten it, but (can't you see), I am busy." That's not the response I like to hear. How much effort is it to bring a plate of bread to the table, no matter how "busy" she might be? I am disappointed to write such a relatively negative review after seeing all of the far more numerous positive ones, so I am willing to chaulk it up to a bad night, which can happen to anyone. So, I plan another visit soon to see if they can redeem themselves. If they don't, that will be our last visit!

My daughter and I came for dinner on a nice warm Monday night. We didn't have a reservation and got seated at "the best table in the house." We had a great server, she was super nice and the food was perfect. We both started with a fresh caprese salad with tomatoes bursting with summer. She got the lasagne - flavorful Bolognese and beschemelle sauce on a plate with house made marinara - wonderful. I got one of the seasonal pastas - a ricotta ravioli with a arugula, basil pistachio pesto - delicious! My daughter ended with Molly Moon balsamic strawberry ice cream - and I ended with the tiramisu affagato - unbelievable - this is one of the best tiramisu's I have ever had. Can't believe this restaurant has been here for nearly 30 years and I haven't been - will absolutely return!

Saw this from Diners Drive ins and dives... Fun atmosphere and great food! We tried a papardelle pasta dish that was delicious and also a baked pasta that was full of cheesy goodness! It is a bit of a drive outside the city so plan accordingly. The surrounding neighborhood was cute too.

No matter when we've gone to this restaurant we've waited for a table for at least 25 minutes. Reservations are only taken for parties of 6 or more. There's limited space within the restaurant to wait so people leave. They are called when their table becomes available and they have about 5 minutes to return. It delays everything more. The décor is interesting. The notes and cartoons under the glass on the tables is also entertaining while you wait. They need bus staff and more wait staff desperately. The same person who handled the front desk, bussed tables, and filled water glasses. We were amazed she did it all. The special starter we ordered (fancy risotto balls) was wonderful. One order was more than enough for two people. We ordered the lasagne and the pea carbonara. It came with the house salad. The salad is served on the same plate size as the bread and overflowed the sides, if you didn't have the dressing on it to hold it down. It's a good salad. I had the carbonara. It's rich and full of pea sprouts, peas and vines. The panchetta is sliced thick and a nice contrast to the sweetness of the cream sauce. The dish may error on the salty side a bit. But, it was very good. My son shared his lasagne with me. It was a large portion and very hearty. Neither of us could finish our meal. We skipped the dessert course this time around. The house chianti was very good with our meals. The restaurant is a hoot to visit for the visual images. The bathrooms are a "must see." The noise level is okay, provided there aren't large tables of celebrators. It can get noisy then. We come here often and aren't disappointed.

Ambience Allure Atmosphere and that's even berfore the delicious food arrived. Bizzarro staff thank you for making our parties dinner inviting and cozy. If in the area don't sleep on this taste of Italian cuisine.

We are avid Diners Dive-ins and Dives watchers, and saw this place on one of the episodes. We immediately planned to check it out as we had a trip to Seattle already planned. This place is definitely a "conversation piece" ! We enjoyed looking at all of the "oddities" throughout the restaurant. Our food came rather quick, and was very enjoyable. Dessert was amazing! By far the largest piece of tiramisu my husband and I have ever seen! Although they were out of the fig gelato that I was looking forward to, I settle for the cinnamon which was delicious, and even came with a cute little Teddy Graham cookie on top. Service was prompt and friendly, but nothing spectacular. I think they like to let people enjoy themselves and their meals, which we definitely did.

This place rocks! I definitely recommend you slither over to this quirky, quaint, quality place. Everything we ate was perfection. From the bread and oil to the decadent sauces on our handmade pasta, we were on a journey of deliciousness. They also let you sub a salad for caprese salad, which was better than some I had in Italy! Can’t wait to come back.

I went here with three others on a Monday night since I had seen the restaurant featured on TV. I was not disappointed. The restaurant is on a back street and very small. We were able to get a table almost immediately luckily. There was a waiting line when we left so plan ahead. Service was prompt, the waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and fulfilled all our requests. I had the forest floor pasta as I love fungi and it was excellent. My dining companions loved their choices. The menu is limited so don't expect a wide choice. The were very fresh and was told they are local in origin as much as possible. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the meal. This restaurant is a real gem.

I went to Bizzarro with my family - mom, uncle, cousin, grandma - and EVERYONE loved it. We had a fantastic time and had wonderful fun! We tried to go the night before, but we got there late and there was a looooong wait for service. Came back the next night (earlier) and now I know why there was such a long wait!! The food was excellent (may I please recommend the Forest Floor Frenzy - yum!) and the atmosphere is awesome. Such a fun restaurant. Will definitely go back when I come to town again.

We really enjoyed Bizzarro, what a great place!! Cool decorations, flowers hanging outside, beautiful paintings and pictures everywhere, great friendly atmosphere. They have a very interesting Bruschetta with figs on it, yummy!! I loved the kale salad and the lasagna was amazing and delicious. The people that work here are great and look like they love working here. I found the place on yelp, the Lyft driver and other passenger had no clue about this place so I told them they have to come in and try it, we were just visiting from L.A. but will be back again on our next trip.

Very funky inside, covered with antiques, memorabilia and weird stuff all over the walls and ceiling. It's a small place but it's fun and they have good Italian food. Plan on waiting for a table.

Loved the quirky and bizzarro decor! You will find a bicycle suspended from the ceiling and 5 million chandeliers. :-). You may even find Waldo! There’s not a shortage of “interesting” paintings/pictures. The oddities are plentiful yet perfectly at home at this restaurant. Street parking only. We were able to find parking about 1-2 blocks away. It was busy but not crowded. First comes, first served but was surprised to be seated within minutes. Service was excellent - many check ins. The menu noted handmade pastas, life changing broth and world famous sauce so we were ready to have our lives changed! Except we were let down on all FIVE pasta dishes. It was as if they forgot to season everything. A few positives - there were lots of clams in the clam linguine, gigantic meatballs and decent (world famous marinara) in the weekend meatballs and large portions. The Elk bolognese and Poblano Cannellini were dry and served lukewarm. :-( With all the positive reviews, we were hopeful that Bizzarro Italian Cafe would be added to our list of hidden gems but not from our experience on this visit. Maybe it was a one off?

We had dinner here on the last night of our trip and I was so disappointed that we hadn't tried it sooner! It's amazing! Had a bit of a wait for a table, but glad we did. Real busy spot on a Friday evening. Everything was amazing! I took pictures before we inhaled the food but can't find them now. The ravioli is to die for. My fiance had the special on the night and he raved about it! He got the tiramisu for desert and I ate most of it, and I hate tiramisu! They have me converted. We'd be back in the morning.

Quirky, eclectic place that also feels like sitting in a family dining room. A big, lively, happy family. Service was great. Food, fantastic. Between the fiancé and I we tried bruschetta, arancini, lasagna, and the seasonal gnocchi (this one had chorizo and mushrooms). They appear to have a nice wine list as well and I did try roscoto rosse dolce, which I enjoyed. Too full for deserts, will have to sample that next time!

The food was amazing. The clam pasta was the best (and I am very fussy when it comes to pasta). The service was so inviting and fun. It feels like a party when you are there. If you want to have a fun date come here.

Good from scratch Italian food. Decorations were interesting but it's in the name. Definitely gives some discussion during dinner. Quick, efficient service but they don't make you feel rushed at all. Worth the trip.

Ahhhmazing food, bizzarre decor, friendly staff. The seasonal gnocchi with a light lemon butter sauce and elk bolonase were unlike anything we've had before. If you're in Seattle, this is a must ! Oh,and the desserts are delicious!

My friend made a reservation the day before, we had a table for 2. Once seated, they offered nice foccacia bread(homemade) with olive oil and vinegarette. We ordered a salad, Scampi pasta in red sauce. Yum Yum!! I love the pasta so much! We also ordered the lamb shrank and it was huge! Loved the grilled brussels on the side. The cous cous pancake were the best of the dinner. Check out the restrooms before you leave!

So, my husband and I flew to Portland on a Saturday to visit my brother and his wife for the week. Sunday morning we woke up and were discussing plans and ideas when my sister-in-law said, too bad we aren’t in Seattle, it’s Sunday and there are meatballs at Bizzarro. So what did we do? Drive to Seattle! We got there just in time to order the last 3 orders of meatballs! What a delight. Fun atmosphere, amazing wait staff, and delicious food! Well, well worth it!

Had a great family dinner and enjoyed a special they had on a risotto ball appetizer. Spouse had clams which were fresh and family had a gnocchi special. Good beer selection. Was a bit expensive but was happy with service and food. Tough to find parking in area so plan that into your timing

We were a little hesitant to try this place since it gets really mixed reviews on yelp. We walked in and put our name on the list for our 45 minutes wait. We waited maybe 20 mins and got seated. I ordered the pumpkin ravioli and my husband ordered the meatballs. We were both so pleased with our meals. The pumpkin ravioli was amazing! My only complaint is that I wish the portion size was a tad larger! We also loved the bread and olive oil they bring to start the meal! The tiramasu for dessert was amazing! This was a really great meal & we would return! Don't let the hype about the "cell phone rule" scare you...just be polite and dont take calls at the dinner table and you'll be fine!

I found this place was recommended by Diner's Drive-In's and Dives. I am sure glad I found it. When we got there it was already packed but we got a table. Lucky us. The menu had so many options it was hard to chose but I chose Elk Bolognese. The pasta is homemade and the Bolognese was so delicious I've dreamed of it ever since. There are few places I can say that linger in your mind and this is one of those places. Since I live in California I will have to think of an excuse to fly up to Seattle and visit this restaurant again. I will look at the menu but I'll probably get the Elk Bolognese again. It's that good.

Got a table for 3 instantly. Excellent food and service! Good variety and exotic meat choices like elk and rabbit!

Two friends joined us here for dinner on a Friday night and we absolutely loved the food. Made from scratch, the huge portions brimmed with flavor and perfectly prepared pasta. Small salads with fresh ingredients came with the entrees. Two of us chose lasagna and two opted for pesto ravioli. I thought my ravioli was exquisite, stuffed with Parmesan, ricotta and asiago cheese and tossed in a mixture of avocado, hemp seed, basil, lemon juice and garlic pesto. A generous amount of cherry tomatoes and macarona almonds finished off the dish. I sampled my husband’s lasagna and considered the marinara sauce to be outstanding. Our friends had nothing but positive comments about the same dishes. We all passed on the tempting desserts, which included gelato from Fainting Goat, my favorite Seattle gelateria. Service by the pleasant, professional waitstaff proved to be faultless throughout our stay. That said, the kitschy atmosphere with myriad objects hanging from the ceiling, including a variety of chandeliers, a happy birthday sign and a miniature wooden airplane, did not appeal to me. But the food more than makes up for the decor and somewhat shabby interior in this old Wallingford building. The loud recorded music in the fairly small space made it difficult for us to hear each other throughout dinner. The restaurant only accepts reservations for parties of six or more and only Monday through Thursday. So we went early at 6 p.m. and found just three tables occupied. By the time we left at 7:30 p.m., however, the place was full with about 15 people waiting outside for tables. Plenty of free street parking exists in the neighborhood and we found a space right in front of the restaurant.

Loved the decor - Bizzaro for sure. Check out the bathroom. Staff was friendly, professional and efficient. Our group included a Vegan, two Vegetarians, a person allergic to a lot of things and three easy to please guests. Everyone found something that they could order and the food was delicious. Be sure to try the Tiramisu!! The place was PACKED on Saturday night. We got there right at 5pm and even though there were 6 of us, we were seated right away.

You can't help but smile when you walk into this place with all the stuff hanging everywhere! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The meatballs were good and I liked that they would serve them with zucchini noodles instead of pasta. We also had the lamb which was huge! We took some home and had enough for two servings for lunch! Also loved the olive cake. Great place!

Our group of 7 had a very good experience at this funky Italian restaurant. Several in our group said the elk bolognese was excellent. Another loved the clams with linguine. The margherita was a little plain. The tiramisu with espresso was delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We found this little hole in the wall after searching Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. Arrived Sunday just after opening time, we got in without a wait. Massively eclectic interior, close quarters while eating (except for the Best Table In The House...which is where we sat) friendly servers, fresh ingredients, can't say we were disappointed with any aspect of our dining experience. Hubby likes his meatballs less soft but he loved the flavor of them and the sauce was wonderful. I had a hard time deciding but ended up with the Forest Floor Frenzy which was amazing. Creamy, flavorful, perfectly cooked pasta and mushrooms in a fantastically rich sauce. The walnuts added a wonderful crunch. Loved each and every bit of it! Our meals came with a small house salad which tasted fresh and the dressing was good as was the bread. Along with a stem of our favorite Malbec wine, a perfect last night in Seattle. Wish we lived closer!

I love this little hole in the wall in Wallingford. Colorful, fun decor and is a perfect girls night out or date night. The gnocchi is amazing although everything on the menu is. They don't take reservations so come early or be prepared to wait, it's worth it!

This is a fun, quirky Italian restaurant. The food was amazing and the decor is so cool! It sits in a small neighborhood away from the craziness of the city. The staff is attentive and ensures you have a fantastic experience. Highly recommend adding this to your dinner plans while in Seattle.

We found out about the restaurant on the Triple D list and it didn't disappoint. The phone was busy when we tried calling for same-day reservations so we opted to try to drop in. We got there about 5 pm and were lucky enough to get a table for five that had just opened up - the line of customers waiting for a table quickly grew over the next hour as we ate. Our favorite was the lamb with Brussel sprouts. It was cooked perfectly and the sprouts had a superb buttery/pepper flavor. The gnocchi special with tomatoes and roasted corn was a good blend of flavores albeit spicy for our group and the description sounded more like it was in a tomato cream sauce but it was not. We appreciated that the restaurant let us make a half order of pasta as an appetizer. We got the blue and cheese raviolis with blue cheese and walnuts. It was awesome! A great mix of flavors and super rich so the half portion was perfect. We took two young kids and the restaurant was happy to provide a simple pasta w/marinara dish for our daughter. We'd recommend the restaurant to foodies and locals alike.

Bizzaro certainly describes the decor, however, the food and service are among the best ever. The menu is eclectic and blends old world Italian with a few modern touches to create a very tasty and delicious meal. It is a bit outside "downtown" but well worth the visit.

Found this place by looking out our window at our airbnb. We stumbled on some great Italian food. The place is a little bizarre, but the homemade pasta is legit. The dessert of white chocolate bread pudding was amazing. This is a casual place you could bring kids to. Out bill came to $150 for appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, and bottle of wine. It was well worth the cost and we enjoyed ourselves. Would come back again.

We were on a mom/daughters vacation in Seattle and looking for a memorable, non-touristy place for dinner. I suggested we look for a Triple D (Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives) place and voila! up pops Café Bizzarro. So glad we checked this place out because it was the food highlight of our trip. We went on a Sunday night and still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated, but it was well worth it. (They do not take reservations Friday-Sunday.) The atmosphere is fun, the staff is fun, and the food is magnificent. We ordered The Forest Floor Frenzy, Elk Bolognese, and Sunday Meatballs. Everything was excellent! We took leftovers back to the hotel and they were just as good the second time around. Honestly, I think I'd plan a trip back to Seattle just to have dinner here again.

We saw this restaurant on Triple D (Diners, Dives, and Drive Inns). We decided that we wanted to try it out. Generally, everything that we've seen on Triple has been favorable (except for the one hamburger joint in Seattle). Since we live in Seattle, we decided to try it out. We also checked "Trip Advisor" prior to going and most of the reviews were favorable. We absolutely loved this place. The service was wonderful and the server was very helpful and patient. Yes, it is quirky with the unusual décor and it's fairly small. I had the Clam Linguini (which was excellent). I don't normally order Linguini, but this was awesome. We also ordered the Bruschetta as an appetizer. It was very different, but very good as well. My fiancé ordered the Lasagna which was incredible. The Lasagna has a home made tomato sauce which was delicious. *Note* They do NOT take American Express or Discover. There are NO reservations on Friday or Saturday evenings. There really, is no lobby, so they suggest that you step next door to the "Blue Moon Café and Bar" for a drink while you're waiting for your table. We will be back to try the other options (on Sunday evenings - only, they serve homemade meatballs).

The food was so so good and the staff was having fun. Would go back in a heart beat.... and the desserts were amazing!

The bread, the food, even the ginger lemonade was delicious, I had a lasagna and a Cesar salad, so was very simple but the flavor was so good! My husband also enjoyed a lot his food.

This place is wonderful. They don't require or allow reservations. It's kind of small but is full of personality. They make their own noodles and they are fan freaking tastic! I ordered the forest floor frenzy. A pasta dish full of mushrooms. It's definitely a stick to your ribs kind of meal, but oh so good. My hubby got the clam linguine and it was outstanding as well. It had a bit of red peppers and jalepeno so it had a tiny bit to it. They give you a hunk of bread with oil and balsamic to dip it in. Truly worth checking out. I heard the lasagna is delicious too. Next time we are in Seattle, I will give that entree a try.

Had an excellent time at Bizzarro! Local beers on tap, awesome lasagna, to notch service (Danielle) made for a great time. A must in the Seattle area. Highly recommended.

I have dined at Bizarro a few times over the last few years and always enjoyed the food. The service is usually fine too. However, my most recent experience has made me never want to dine there again and I feel it was completely avoidable. I dined there with a friend in mid November and we split the check on each of our respective credit cards. I tipped on my card and he tipped in cash. When I reviewed my credit card statement, it showed my card was charged for both transactions. I left a voicemail for the restaurant and didn't hear anything after a week so I left a second voicemail. I eventually received a call from Jaedra who is according to the web site one of the owners, which makes my 'customer service' experience all the more surprising as you would assume an owner is invested - customers = livelihood. She was extremely rude, told me she couldn't locate the charges, directed me to ask my friend to pay me the balance(highly inappropriate!!)......when I objected to this as a solution, she told me not to be snarky with her and then proceeded to yell at me until I terminated the call. I am now having my credit card company deal with it. Such a terrible disregard for a customer and no respect at all and zero accountability for their mistake.

In Seattle for a few days, and wanted something different than the typical tourist destinations. Looked up places from Guy's travels since we're fans of his show. Totally nailed it. Delicious food! We had the clam linguine and lamb. SOOOO good. The clams were so flavorful and the lamb melted off the bone! We were so stuffed even though we wanted to try the desserts. Winner! Setting was very interesting....in a crazy way, but definitely memorable.

I've been to this place years before, and enjoyed it. This time, the linguine was over cooked and the sauce so salty I could hardly choke it down. This is an interesting place, but the food quality and execution this outing didn't impress. Perhaps they are coasting on their reputation... I still give it three stars, as the service was attentive, the pricing isn't outrageous, and the room was certainly cosy on a rainy Seattle winter's night.

We were seated relatively fast. Decor is... well.... bizarre....which is the theme of the restaurant. Food was above average and liked by most of the group. Between us we had 3 appetizers, 3 salads, 4 different entrees. We all enjoyed the experience. Special shoutout to Milo at the front. I didn’t see him stop at all. He was working hard and fast to take names, call people, set tables, etc. the # of cups he carries at once is impressive as is his positive attitude and friendliness. I recommend to others.

After reading the reviews and seeing it was a DDD destination we decided to give it a try. Because we were driving all day we decided to take a cab from the Sheraton on 6th. It was about a 15 min ride which was $20 with tip. The decor is funky and interesting. We got there at 630 on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. There were 3 of us. We ordered the clams appetizer which was good and very large and the rice balls. They were okay although they could have been alot creamier. For entrees one of us had the margarita bolognese. It was good although there was too much cheese melted on top of it. I had the highly recommended clam linguine. Here's where the food took a dive. There were plenty of clams but about 4 forkfuls of linguini. I love spicy foods but there must have been 2 jalapeños cut up in it making it very spicy and masking the flavor of the dish. The last person ordered the puttanesca. Again it was much too spicy. Since neither of these dishes is traditionally spicy we didn't think the heat added anything to them. Again not a bad place but definitely not "off the hook.". Also too expensive for the food we got.

Everything here is awesome! Food, service, atmosphere, Bizzarro's has it all. We love the Margarita and the Pumpkin Ravioli was spectacular! The Forest Floor Frenzy and Clam Linguini are also must haves.

Sunday night was our first trip to Bizzarro. We arrived about 15 minutes before the restaurant opened and joined the growing line outside. At five, we were able to get a table for four right away. Those who arrived after opening had a wait. Service was excellent; we had barely taken our seats at the table when our server dropped off a plate of foccacia with dipping oil. Meals also arrived very quickly. Our food was amazing. The salads were generously dressed and had lots of extras tossed on top. Homemade pasta had the perfect bite and sauces were thick and flavorful. Desserts were large—consider sharing. The decor in the restaurant is fun and eclectic. And the ladies room paintings and accompanying soundtrack are worth checking out. A little creepy, but part of the experience.

There were 9 of us and the food was amazing! No one had a "bad" meal....everyone raved! If we lived here, we would be back often!

A little tight on the seating, but friendly staff, good portions and good food. We were staying downtown and took an Uber after calling ahead. There was no line when we left, but upon arrival 15 minutes later, it was about 20 minutes. We sat outside and had a glass of wine before we were seated. I had a smoked salmon pasta dish. The salmon was a bit on the chewy side and had a ton of smoke going on. My wife had lasagna, which was huge. The wine was a house pinot grigio, which was fine. All in all an enjoyable detour out of downtown.

Love the Hipster atmosphere. Truly eclectic. We celebrated my 10-year-old's birthday here, but this isn't a place I would bring more than 1 or 2 well-behaved children, which is what we had. Fantastic pastas. The incredibly rich lasagna was a generous portion. We also enjoyed a special appetizer that was DIVINE. Just a great restaurant.

Laura W from Menlo Park, California said this place is decent but not amazing and that there is an overuse of salt. I totally agree with her. We've eaten at Bizarro Italian Cafe a couple times and felt that the portions were big as was the use of salt. There was nothing particularly wrong, just nothing wonderfully right. In addition the place seems sort of dingy with lots of stuff around to catch the dust. I'm not saying it's dirty, just that it feels dusty. I wanted to love it but I didn't. For those who do love it, more power to you, Carry on!

Stopped in for an early dinner. Our group included 2 children. Staff was welcoming and friendly to all of us. The atmosphere is quirky to say the least....but in a good way. The room was welcoming and comfortable. Our food was excellent....portions are moderate. Wonderful handmade pastas...mine had shrimp in a Lemoncello sauce. For dessert we had Angel Fluff...a panna cotta which was smooth and creamy. This is not your typical American Italian place...more like something you would happen upon in Italy. We will go back!

Loved the kitschy style and the food was very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. We liked the odds and ends of antiques and random items hanging from the ceiling and walls.

We read so many reviews that touted Bizzarro’s meatballs, offered only on Sundays, that we decided to give them a try. The restaurant opens at 5 p.m. and we arrived at 5:45 p.m. But there were no tables left, and the greeter told us it would be a 45-minute wait. So we opted to go elsewhere and return the next Sunday. This time, we came at 4:45 p.m. and got in line behind the two customers ahead of us. When the restaurant opened promptly at 5, 26 people waited to be admitted. All got seated in the dark space, which is crammed with eclectic objects on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. These include chandeliers, a bicycle, statues and paintings. After 10 minutes of nibbling on stale bread, we gave a waitress our two orders of meatballs and spaghetti, which came with small salads. The fresh greens with a sliver of carrot got delivered quickly and proved to be exceedingly small. When an ample portion of the famous meatballs arrived mixed in a good spaghetti rustica, they, too, were quite small, perhaps the smallest meatballs that I have ever consumed. Described as “juicy” on the menu, they lacked that quality. Dry, but with some flavor, these meatballs were just OK. The dish was slightly too spicy for our tastes. Alas, I found a piece of ice in my Turkish-coffee gelato dessert. Aside from a slow beginning, service throughout our stay was excellent. The noise level here was quite high, keeping our conversation to a minimum, but we thought the restaurant’s temperature was too low. To be comfortable, I had to wear my coat. During our meal, I noted a few people waiting outside for a table as well as others, who came and then left as we had done the week before. Free street parking exists close to Bizzarro, which is in Seattle’s Wallingford Neighborhood. Reservations for this popular eatery are not accepted for Sunday nights.

Our visit was based on a recommendation from another family with children and we were steered in the right direction. On sitting down we were immediately served with large glasses of iced water which was welcome on a hot Seattle evening after a mile walk. The water jug was regularly replenished so no one went thirsty. Our 5 year old attacked the spaghetti with meatballs with relish and enjoyment. The 8 year old opted for the carbonara which was also cleaned up. Both were served as half portions at precisely half the cost of the menu price. Nice touch. I had red the reviews and was all in favour of the elk bolognese. Thank you to everyone who had posted an earlier review and swayed me towards something quite exceptional. Rich flavour through every bite which was only mildly diminished by the 8 year old asking what elf bolognese was... This was accompanied by a refreshing side salad and washed down by the house Chianti which was reasonably priced and totally quaffable. The children enjoyed generous serves of ice cream to end the dinner while I settled for an excellent espresso. Very decent value for money, excellent service and an enjoyable experience for all.

The space is very tight and full of decorations. And what a collection it is!!! I LOVE it. If you bring children, they will love it too. The food is fresh and well prepared. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs, gnocchi and clam linguini. They were all delicious. I highly recommend this place. I also recommend making a reservation. We went right when they open to get a table and they were filling up fast. I will go back again for sure.

No matter what time of year , a visit to Bizzaro is in order. The seasonal specials will not disappoint- this week it was papparadelle with artichokes and mushrooms in a mustard cream sauce- very very good- all of the pastas are prepared well as are the entree option of beef,, pork or chicken - the pasta with clams is a favorite - the atmosphere is very funky and fun and the food is a pleasure- just accompany it with a carafe of chianti and you will have a perfect evening..

Went to dinner on a recommendation and the restaurant was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! Off the the beaten, path. Have to have a car or take Uber or Taxi. Food was excellent, staff was great. I would recommend getting there early. They don't take reservation and it got busy quickly!

From the goat cheese and fig jam crostini to the unique authentic pasta, every dish was wonderful. My son and I had the Forest Floor pasta, a one of a kind earthy and sumptuous mushroom sauce over fresh homemade linguini. We shared a carafe of red and finished with creamy cheesecake. One of our favorite!

The decor is a little kooky, but other than that this is a straight forward, just fine Italian restaurant.

Everything I have had here is delicious. The Elk pasta dish was superb. House salad is petite but very good. It is a small restaurant delightfully crammed with oddities on the walls and ceiling.

The food was like no other Italian food I've ever tasted. It was incredible. The ambiance was most definitely bizzarro in the best way possible. I had the lasagna, it was superb! My partner had the meat pillows (ravioli), delicious. Our teenager had meatballs and spaghetti which they ate all of which is highly unusual as they always have at least half of whatever it is to go. I'm the only one to have dessert which was a lemon bar with vanilla ice cream and it was also delicious. I would highly recommend this small quirky restaurant. It's a guaranteed good time!

I've been to many Italian restaraunt all over the East Coast and I stopped by on my Seattle trip. I have to say that this place is fantastic. I don't think anything on the menu isn't great. The rice balls are amazing, better than any appetizer I've had, and the pasta and meat are phenomenal. Better than many authentic restaraunts. The wait was about an hour, but well worth it. The service was also amazing, the waitress was really nice and friendly. You must eat here

Exactly what I needed! My fiancé and I were visiting Seattle from Anchorage, AK, and our goal for dinner was handmade pasta. Bizzarro did not disappoint! In fact, our entire experience was great. Although the place was busy, we were promptly greeted and seated at a cozy table. We had enough time to get comfortable before receiving our menus, but the timing was just right. I had the elk bolognese and he had the lasagna. Both entrees came with dinner salads- and a heavenly-textured loaf of bread with oil & vinegar. The salads had a nice mix of greens and a refreshing vinaigrette. Then came our entrees. The elk in the bolognese was cooked to perfection and had a nice warm blend of spices. I would have liked a bit more sauce, but the sauce itself was very good. A sprinkle of cheese on top tied it all together, and the pasta had a nice toothiness (SO satisfying to chew!). My finance's lasagna was amazing as well... In fact I almost wished I had chosen that as well! The layers of sauce, noodles, and meat were a-m-a-z-i-n-g, and I especially liked the fact that the tower of goodness was situated on a nice bed of marinara. Yum. I could eat that on the reg! We usually are pretty good about stopping at full, but our meals were so good we decided it would be a crime to miss the tiramisu. I am glad we made room. The cream was the perfect consistency, the lady fingers were soaked with just the right amount of rum, and the topping of cocoa powder and chocolate syrup was a lovely accent. It was the perfect blissful ending to our meal. Needless to say, we will be back!

Seriously one of the best restaurant meals I've ever had in an atmosphere that is almost too funky, but not quite. I ordered the "Elk Bolognaise" and my son the "Lasagna" we shared and loved both. My wife had a sea food pasta which she declared to be excellent too. We ended up drinking a liter and a half of the house Chianti which was a super house wine. The place is crowded and noisy, but family friendly and challenges guests to leave the cell phone off, or pay a fine! Don't know if they actually enforce it, but it's a nice touch.

My husband brought me here because he researched GF Italian options in Seattle and this popped up. IT IS AMAZING!! All of their pasta can be made GF and they have such a variety of meat options, veggie options, and sauces. They do not take reservations and are only open 5-10pm; get there early, especially on a Friday or Saturday because they fill up very fast. The atmosphere is so eccentric and there are so many things to look it and enjoy; also check out the bathrooms..they are great. Service is wonderful and they in no way rush you through dinner to get you out. Take your time to enjoy everything about this restaurant!

My husband had dined at Bizzarro on a business trip to Seattle and insisted that we check it out during a family vacation there. When we arrived there, I could see why. It has a very unique atmosphere. The food was very good, and our waitress was wonderful. It is unique and fun.

I like Bizzarro. Have been going there on and off since it opened. I have to say the food is very good, unpretentious and always satisfying. My biggest problem, like the Grinch, is the noise, noise, noise! This is a very small, confined space. I know that for some folks it's energizing to be in a crowded room. For me, shouting to be heard by my table companions is less fun. So, though I like the food, I don't like going because of the room. If that kind of thing doesn't bother you - go! You'll definitely have a great dinner.

It's best to expect a long wait. We did, and spent a pleasant hour at the Blue Star Cafe next door with drinks and appetizers. The atmosphere at Bizarro is eclectic, casual, friendly and a lot of fun. The wine list was on point and the salads, which come with the meal, were fresh. We all devoured our pasta dishes. Desserts were more hit or miss-the Molly Moons ice cream was great, but the tiramisu was a bit flavorless.

Quirky interior, friendly staff. I had the gnocchi with Chorizo, not a combination I would expect but it was really good. I'll echo the recommendation of the house salad- small but delicious. We were in and out in under an hour. No wait at 7:30 on a Monday night.

I discovered this little gem when I first moved to Seattle in 99 and it never fails to put me in a great mood. You walk into a loud, fun and playful atmosphere and immediately feel happier. The food is tasty and well portioned. I loved the Forest frenzy (mushrooms) and my friend had the clam linguine and Puttanesca. Great wine choices. No complaints. Do not talk on your cell phone or you will be publicly called out. If your uptight, don't go here

Dinner here with Lori on Thursday, 10/12/17. I had the drunken clams and the Elk Bolognese. Lori had I Gnocchi What you Did Last Summer. The food was great. Service was very good. The place is crowded, noisy, and visually entertaining. There are a few parking spots by the place, but most diners have to find street or neighborhood parking.

Eclectic, appealing decor doesn't mean you don't have to clean... Food is fresh and tasty. Red sauce is spicy and flavorful. Nice menu, good service, definitely would go again.

I was introduced to this place by my boyfriend. It was our first date spot and let me tell you, as soon as I walked in the door I knew this boy has personality for selecting this place. The decor is beyond eclectic and comical. This is a perfect first date spot because it is intimate, unique, and the food is to die for! Make sure to get the risotto balls for an appetizer. We now order them every time we go back to reminisce on our first date.

Weather was nice and the big front door was open allowing us to eat in the open. This little place sounded strange but had amazing reviews. And with good cause.the food was great, service well done and the eclectic ambiance made for a pleasant and relaxing dinner for me and a travel companion. Very reasonable pricing. The building was originally a garage of some sort with a big door on the front. Visit the restrooms for a unique experience. Menu items built around locally sourced products.

I knew we were in for a good meal when, as soon as we arrived, the waitress brought the most delicious bread I ever ate in a restaurant, a baguette with a crisp outside and a soft inside. Flavored with subtle spices, it was served warm. We both chose the same entree, the special of the day, spaghetti and meatballs. It came with a green salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. The spaghetti and meatballs were very good, but there was so much neither of us could finish.(maybe that was because we pigged out the bread while waiting.) Didn't have dessert. I must mention the wild decor: Hanging from the ceiling were all sorts of objects. An inverted umbrella, an upside-down table with things hanging from it, a bicycle, all sorts of crazy light fixtures, and more. Great fun. Service was excellent, but noise was unbearable. No reservations for fewer than six during the week, none at all on weekends.

We were there on a Monday - with a last minute reservation for 6. The atmosphere certainly matches the name of the restaurant - with a bizarre collection of things hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. But all this would fall flat if the food wasn't good, and furtunately it is excellent. Everyone in our party had a different dish, and everyone was raving. Portions are ample, the service cheerful and efficient - I almost hate to rate because I don't want it to get too crowded - though I suspect it is on weekends. Absolutely recommended.

We arrived at 5:15 on a Friday night...got one of the last tables before they started turning folks away. It's a small place with no waiting room/bar/area. Waitress was fabulous. We were a party of four and had the pasta carbonara, lamb, the cow (beef short ribs) and the elk Bolognese. All were excellent. Our two teens were a little off put by the no cell phone policy, but they survived and we all had a great meal.

This is one of the stranger dining locations in Seattle. The food is Italian, and very tasty but the value here is the fun staff and the décor. Items hanging from the ceiling, strange surrealistic paintings, odd and mismatched chandeliers make it seem as if you are dining in someone’s cluttered attic. Pricier than you would expect, but certainly worth a visit. Highly recommended.

They don't take reservations for fewer than 6 so we waited outside with a glass of wine. It wasn't too long of a wait. The waiter was very good and fun. The food was the best Italian food I've had. The bruschetta appetizer had Gruyere cheese and figs - could have eaten those for dinner - they were so good! The salads were very good and crisp, and my lasagna was also fantastic. Couldn't eat it all so took the rest with me. Next trip I will definitely go back to Bizarro's!

Our son moved to Seattle a year ago (from California) and we have enjoyed visiting several times and exploring the city - as well as new places to eat. We absolutely loved this neighborhood eatery! The decor was super funky, the staff was very friendly and efficient (and a little unique themselves). We went on a Friday evening and had to wait (about 20 minutes) but it was well worth it. We absolutely raved over the Drunken Clams (appetizers), The Forest Floor Frenzy (10 stars!!), Elk Bolognese, Sugar Snap Pea Carbonara. Highly recommend this place and we will go again!

Outstanding Italian in a relaxed and interesting atmosphere. We had the Med Breeze and the Elk Spaghetti. Really tasty and well cooked. There regular menu is tried and true and can be counted on for excellent food everytime. Very good wine list and specials. Excellent service. Worth coming her from across town.

Went here for dinner with a couple friends. It was everyone's first time at the restaurant, and we all enjoyed it. The décor of the restaurant is very eclectic and fun, and the atmosphere was lively. The service was very friendly and efficient, and just the right amount of attentiveness. The food was good, albeit not great, but the portions were large and satisfying. My buddy had the lasagna, which was huge, but he did say he had better. I had the clam linguini, which was also decent to good. Not as flavorful as I would have preferred, but not bad either. Can't remember what our wives had, but everyone's opinion on the food pretty much ranged from good to pretty good. Unless you're a food snob, I think you'll be satisfied and happy with the food, just not blown away. Overall, we had fun and enjoyed the experience.

The restaurant itself is small and extremely busy, but well worth the wait. It's in a small, friendly, beautiful neighborhood that was within walking distance of our rental house. Once seated, the eclectic decor was enough to keep us interested while waiting for our food, but after we got the food it was so delicious that we didn't notice anything else! The service was great, even though they were so busy. They took the time to explain dishes to us and make recommendations, and certainly steered us toward a memorable dinner. We will absolutely be back again on our next trip.

We arrived from Houston and Northwest Arkansas ready to get started on our Great Northwest experience having started at 3:30 this morning with travel. What an awesome way to end the day! The food was more than we had imagined and the service impeccable! We each ordered a different dish, clam linguine, carbonara, elk pasta, and the lamb shank. Each dish was beyond perfection in its own right! Then to top it off we had the chocolate dessert with a hint of pepper which was a completely delicious surprise, leaving no crumbs on the plate! The surroundings were eclectic to say the least, but an absolute positive to a great establishment. Definitely on a list of places to go! The proprietor was so friendly and made you want to come back whenever you get back to Seattle!

We love this little hole in the wall. very Seattle and fresh amazing food! Great starter bread. Get there early or your out of luck!!!!

Atmosphere as you stepped in was funky and crowded and festive. Kinda fun to look around. Service was quick enough at the right time. Prices a little high for the portions you get. We both left a little short of adequate. Food tasted great though.

Our party of 6 was able to get reservations late on a Monday evening and everyone enjoyed their food, the atmosphere and the pleasant service. A great experience and it was our second time to dine here while visiting Seattle.

A long time ago I'd seen an episode of DDD which featured Bizzarro Italian Cafe. On both visits the food here is just amazing, and it doesn't matter which dish you order. The pink grapefruit sorbet was also very delicious. The service was excellent and the server was full of suggestions. Be prepared to line up. The restaurant isn't that huge, which adds to the experience, but the wait is worth it. You could spend a large amount of time looking at the decor and asking yourself "what the...?" Bizarre comes to mind. But the food was just really good.

We were in town for Spring Break with our girls and found this gem on Trip Advisor! We enjoyed this small quirky Italian Cafe! Loved all our dinner choices! We dinned on Clam Linguine, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Lasagna, and Risotto balls. The lemon ricotta in the lasagna was a pleasant surprise!!! Flavors are spot on, not too heavy. Would highly recommend this place!

A qwerty and tasty dining spot. Nice variety of unique Italian based dishes. Dessert was wonderful and staff was engaging and helpful.

A group of seven of us came here for dinner after a work conference. It was a truly unique and enjoyable evening. Everyone raved about the food. Our server was an absolute delight. The décor is over the top, too. Very fun. Don't miss the bathrooms, either. It didn't occur to me to make sure they accepted American Express, so I ended up having to put over $400 on my personal credit card. Ouch! Not a good way to end the evening for a business traveler!

We will 100% return if we make it back to Seattle. Food was delicious- all four of us had some type of pasta. Service was excellent. Ambiance fun, creative and different. It is tucked on a side street, definitely off the beaten path.

We were lucky to eat at this restaurant on a night when a friend of the owner was performing in the restaurant. El Ves (or something like that) calls himself the Latin Elvis. He was a riot - very personable and so funny! We enjoyed the food and ordered dessert just so we could stay a bit longer to watch and listen to "Elvis." We had a long wait - on a weeknight arriving before 6pm. It was worth it!

This was the best lasagna I have ever ordered from a restaurant. The red sauce is incredible. We had to wait a bit to sit down but it was worth it. The place is small but cool and quirky. Check it out.

I’m still in awe of this restaurant. The decor is quirky, staff is friendly as it comes and the Forest Floor pasta is the best pasta dish I’ve ever had. The tiramisu is luxurious and the bathrooms are intriguing.

After reading all the reviews, decided to venture out to try the place while visiting Seattle. Its a little out of the way, but worth it, do make a reservation because its small and popular. We went early and there were lots of families and kids. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait. They don't have a bar, but directed us to a tavern next door, which I also highly recommend but can't think of the name. I would definitely eat there sometime, they were very friendly. Back to Bizzaro, excellent service, food was good, though not great. Definitely worth a try, we're glad we did!

My wife and I just had dinner again at Bizzarro's. It exceeded our expectations. The Caesar Salad is the best and that is just the beginning. My wife had the linguine and clams which is the absolute best in Seattle. Had the meatballs with spaghetti which was outstanding. The meatballs were perfectly prepared as was the pasta with their fabulous marinara sauce. We did not have it this time, but the Tiramisu is also the best. Just a great place for a casual Italian dinner out.

I have a feeling the locals would prefer not to spread the word of how great the food is here because it's a small restaurant and the wait could be very long or even impossible to get in. If you're able, try to go on a weeknight and hope for the best. Now about the food....we had five different dishes and we all tasted each others. The pasta and sauces were all perfection! There was also a lamb shank that was to die for. This meal was so good it brought tears to my eyes. I was so thrilled I hugged the owner on the way out! Also, the decor is fun and fabulous.

One of my fav italian joints for great consistent italian (elk bolognese delicious). Typical of the neighborhood, a laid back vibe and great atmosphere will greet you at Bizzarros. Long wait on Friday/Saturday? No prob, the hostess will take your digits and you can have a drink next door at the Blue Star Pub and you'll be called once your table opens. Good for a casual night out or a special occasion.

The place is beautiful in terms of decoration and theme, you feel like you're in a different country. The food is really good and tasty. The waiters are nice and friendly. Overall its a great place to eat and experience.

We ate dinner here on a Monday night. It was like walking into an old curio shop. There were a couple of other tables occupied, but by the time we left, it was packed! The staff were friendly. The food was outstanding! We had the Arancini to start. Then we ordered meatballs over spaghetti and butternut squash and pancetta over capellini. We ordered the lemon pistachio cannolis to go. What a great visit!

Outstanding Italian Bistro, really enjoyed our meal and the fun, eclectic atmosphere. Service was a little abrupt, but friendly. Food fantastic. Would definitely recommend

We had a party of 6 so we were able to sample lots of dishes. All were great. We loved the funky decor!

Loved Bizzarros... we went for our anniversary and had pasta Puttanesca so fresh and spicy and lovely bananas foster for dessert

Once again visited here on our last night with our family in Seattle. Could not make a better choice than this. With 4 vegetarians in our group the staff could not be more helpful in making recommendations or in tailoring items from the menu to suit all. As usual the food is of excellent quality and the house wine superb value our daughter and son-in-law commented on how great the wine was. On our next visit to seattle we will certainly be here again. Thanks to all the staff for being so helpful.

No matter who I go with, where we sit, or what we eat, life is always good here. Awesome, magnificent food! Dazzling food! Breathtaking food! Always. Delicious decor, too. Attentive wait staff.

I took my lady out for the most ideal evening this last Friday night_ With a Visit to take pictures @ the Troll under the Bridge, an then to the Columbia Building, to the Sky Observatory witch was breathtaking, an went to the waterfront so my lady could experience the Seattle Ferris Wheel, witch was Completely Awesome..... An Finished up with Bizzaro's restaurant_ The Menu seemed interesting and very pleasing, an after we got are food, I was so disappointed with the quality of the taste & with their service.... I would not ever recommend for anyone to ever take their significant other out to eat there_! I feel my choice to have decided to go eat there completely ruined the whole evening_ Should have just went to eat at Jack in the Box or McDonalds, that's really how horribly tasting their food was_ I give them No Stars & a Zero Rating_!

This is not really typical Italian restaurant but an experience one should have. Funky decorations inside but all food is delicious. There's always a wait as restaurant is small but packed!

Delicious food and fun atmosphere... not very big so larger groups may struggle to get a table without a reservation and they dont take rezies on fri/sat..we took kids and the plates could be shared , but no kids menu.. a little pricey but very tasty...

Stopped here for dinner with the family not knowing what to expect. The interior is great with a fabulous atmosphere. Our waitress was great and we were able to get in without a reservation (luckily). The Forest Floor Frenzy was fantastic as a main and the Queen's Surprise was a great dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great night out.

Food taste are on the heavy side should ask for no salt in my sauce if I can? Food size is just right for skinny person no leftover but will serve bread first. Food prices are on the expense side but the food come out fast and hot.

Lasagna is very good. Eggplant appetizer delicious. Sauce has a bit of lemon flavor which is a bit too much after awhile. Miss the hearty garlic taste of Italian food. The seating area is crowded - like don't go there for a romantic meal. It is interesting to look around at all their stuff and the history is pretty cool as well. Our waiter was excellent. Giving 3 stars because just to much lemony taste.

Atmosphere, great food and even better service all in one great little package. Without a doubt it was the best dining experience we had while in Seattle! The decorations inside allow you to find something new to look at and talk about every 30 seconds. Staff was exceptional.

We found this place when looking for restaurants in the Wallingford area of Seattle. I'm really glad we did! The food, wine and beer were great, the service was excellent and we just loved the eclectic decor! So funky with a great neighbourhood feel. We both had pasta dishes (clam linguine and lasagna) which were delicious! Definitely visit if you can.

Tried most pasta dishes here and love 'em all. Elk Bolognese comes with really intense flavor. Busy but comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great find! Excellent Italian food. All in party enjoyed their meals including: soup, salad, carbonara pasta, pesto pasta, and rigatoni. Very fun atmosphere with plenty of interesting things to look at. Outstanding service! Highly recommend.

We had dinner here based on reviews and raves by friends and also online. We had such a GREAT meal! We've driven past this place on SO many visits to Seattle. It's a very popular place, always crowded. We went a little later at night, so we were able to get seated fairly quickly.. The decor is quirky and fun. Our waitress had just the right amount of "attitude", which we loved. Our meals were fantastic! We all had pasta dishes, and all were excellent. The portions were just right, and the price was reasonable for a good dinner. Truthfully, I can't wait to go back next time we are in the area.

We received a gift certificate for Bizzaro from our grown children. It's one of their favorite places to enjoy Italian food. We arrived early as instructed (apparently it gets really busy) and there was already a line at the door at 4:50pm. We were seated at a wonderful table for two which was labeled as the best seat in the house. The service was wonderful. Everyone was delightfully friendly and helpful. Their menu had a great selection of fresh pasta dishes as well as lamb and steak. We opted for the lasagna and the Forrest Floor. Both entrees included a dinner salad and focaccia bread. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The waitress said all their pasta is made fresh in house and their produce is from the Pike Place Market. We also enjoyed some sorbet for dessert and a bottle of wine. The restaurant was immediately full and appeared to be large groups, couples and families. Obviously this is a local favorite and we can see why. Look forward to returning soon.

After a fairly long wait for the food, I enjoyed the forest pasta with mushrooms. It was good, but not amazing. The white bean and prosciutto soup was a basic vegetable bean soup with chopped prosciutto and was terribly salty. Cooks should know to use less salt when adding prosciutto, as that also adds to the saltyness. I found it to be so salty that it was inedible and I sent it back.

We've been to Bizzarro several times and have loved it every time! It is such a great little gem in Seattle. We had first discovered it because of Diners Drive Ins and Dives. This is a totally quirky spot with high quality food. Everything we have tried has been delicious, whether their regular menu items to their seasonal specials we've loved it all- lasagna, clams, ciopinno, chicken ravioli, lamb, etc. Each dinner comes with a small side salad and they also bring delicious focaccia to the table. Everything is fresh and handmade! That's why we keep coming back because it's hard to find good fresh pasta. It is a small location only open from 5:00 to 10:00 so there is usually a wait, but they take your number to call you when your table is ready so you don't have to wait in their tiny entry way. Don't be afraid of their crazy taste in decor, it only adds to the uniquenss of the place, and give it a try!

If you like to eat feeling like you are in a garage sale or an antique store, this is the place for you. Interesting items, paintings, chandeliers, all over the this small spot. The food was fabulous, and everything else we saw ordered looked great too. We had the Arancini, and the Eggplant Parmesan, Foraged Mushroom Pasta and house salads. All delicious, service was perfect. Wish I had known about this spot a long time ago.

My husband and I were in Seattle for a medical visit at UW Medical Center and used Trip Advisor to find an Italian restaurant. We totally like this place and will definitely be back. Excellent Puttanesca and the best Carbonara my husband has ever had (and he orders it frequently). Bizzarro's is fun and quirky with the basics totally covered. Highly recommend you try it. Save room for dessert.

A real quirky place serving excellent food, went here twice on a recent holiday once as a couple and once with the family. The hosts could not do enough to provide the food we wanted as there were 4 vegetarians in our party. All the food was excellant and served with a good carafe of house red. The decor is something else, you really need to go to see for yourself.

First and foremost the atmosphere is so unique and fun. You will find the most random and bizarre artwork and decor. They don't take reservations or have a bar so go early. We had to wait 20 minutes but the food was well worth the wait. Best pasta I have had in a long time. The lasagna was so delicious with a smokey meat sauces with layers of fresh pasta and cheese. It was amazing. The clam starter was also so flavorful and made my mouth dance with happiness. They had a gingerbread dessert that was amazing. It was thick and chewy with the most amazing cream cheese frosting. We also had the tiramisu it was very good as well. I cannnot wait to go back here. Our waitress was also very attentive and made our experience even more memorable by just being herself and having fun with us. Seriously go for the pasta and have a dessert and don't forget to wash it all down with a craft of wine.

Relatives in town to take a cruise to Alaska, I had heard about Bizzarro's, but never eaten there. So off we went to find the restaurant. Parking was close by which can be a problem in the area. When we arrived at Bizzarro's, they said it would be an hour or so wait. We said okay, and went next door for a cocktail while waiting. We didn't have time to finish our cocktail as it was about 15 minutes since we put our name in. We entered the café was there is so much to look at you seem to be lost for a few seconds. Lots of odds and ends, antiques and random deco items. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful sorting out some of the menu items. We had Sugar Snap Pea Carbonara, Elk Bolognese, Tiramisu, and Bread Pudding. The Carbonara was the best we've tasted in years, a 5 star dish. The Elk Bolognese was a new adventure for us and again - 5 star dish. The pasta is handmade and cooked perfectly. The Tiramisu was stacked very high, I've never saw one that tall and the flavor was perfection. The Bread Pudding was a special and it was fabulous being close to the best I've had in years. It's server with Molly Moon's Vanilla Bean ice cream. The whole experience was a WOW.

A must stop each time we visit Seattle. The restaurant interior is fascinating and identifying items can be quite a game. The food is excellent and Sunday is our favorite day to visit because it is “Meatball Sunday”. A generous serving of meatballs can be had on various dishes. The Puttanesca is great as are all dishes. Gluten free adoptions are also available.

Four of us went here after the Seahawks stomped the Rams and had 4 great meals. The Eggplant parmigiana spectacular truly was. The lasagna, clams, spaghetti with meatballs, and that wonderful dish that started with a P that I can't pronounce or spell were all incredible. The servers were attentive and fun. while you are waiting for your table, go on around the corner to the wine bar. Great evening!

Delicious! Even a lot of locals have never heard of this place. We saw it on DDD and added to our list. Went with our friend who is a AGM of a local hotel visiting. Loved all the different dishes and the tiramisus. The place is small so please be respectful. The decor is off the wall, literally. Such a cute building. Service was on point. Great place, great food, great overall!

Looking to take a step into the weird, with a taste for amazing Italian? This the place for you! Show up early, there will probably be a wait, but well worth it. We had a vegan and 2 gluten free people in our group and EVERYONE was delighted and completely satisfied with their meals. From apps to desert all bases were covered for every course. The staff was attentive, kind and relaxed. (Check out the bathrooms for a little more wierd:) I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return the next time in Seattle. Thank you to Bizzarro for an awesome dinner!

Met old friends here to grab a bite and were so happy we did. Fun atmosphere and really good pasta dishes.

This is a very unique restaurant - bizarre is really appropriate. You have to see it to understand. The food is upscale Italian and was prepared very well. I had the Angel Hair Devil, which was prawns and angel hair pasta with a very spicy cream sauce. It was very good. Everything else served at our table was well done too. The prices seemed a bit high, but you get what you pay for.

Wow. I would recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy Italian food with a whimsical twist. The service is very friendly and fun. Great for a fun meal. The food is excellent. The decor is artsy crazy. If you are looking for fancy elegance, this is not the place for you.

While this was many miles away from where we were staying, it turned out to be the highlight of our restaurant experience. We were gently guided into a new French wine they had just received and then had a charcuterie plate with some amazing bread. Then it was on to clam linguini and spaghetti bolognese. Filling and just the right seasoning.

Was in the mood for Italian and Bizzarro was close by. Was seated right away, but it was slightly uncomfortable for some. There was a frame hanging from the ceiling which was hitting some of our backs, while we dined. There were four of us, we all ordered something different, everyone thought it was ok, not great. The red sauce dishes were better, but the sauce was dry. We still had a pleasant experience.

The first thing that draws your eyes is the decor. Then the friendly wait staff impresses you. Finally the exceptional food amazes you. This place is everything you want in a restaurant. The best food I've eaten in a very long time.

Loved the decor, it was quite the conversation started. I went with a couple of colleagues and we shared the gnocchi, the lasagna, and the puttanesca. All were delicious, although when I go back, I'll eat the lasagna all by myself. The beet salad was great, as was the tiramisu. This is definitely a place I'll go back to. The only drawback was that they don't accept American Express. Our server was very friendly and helpful for our first visit.
Deliciously Bizzarro!
Overall great place! Definitely an “off the beaten path” find. The décor was so interesting and eclectic. The food was delicious! I had the elk spaghetti and meatballs and I was not disappointed. Their bread was so addicting. I would definitely recommend this place!
