First: The glazed cauliflower is a must. I had never been to this style of restaurant and was hesitant that it would not be worth the price. I found it to be a good experience because the quality of the food and service were exceptional. The server was extremely knowledgeable and the shared plates were each flavorful. I wouldn't go here on a strained budget, but if you want something better than barfood, it's a lovely treat.

My wife and I love this place. The food was very good, with a great variety. The waiter was very knowledgeable and just did everything right. And the place is just cool. Unlike so many restaurants that just put perceived high-end labels on their wine list, it would appear that the chef has tried and approved of each one- just great stuff. It is pretty darned foolproof eating here. We had the squid, roasted artichoke plate, and smoked chicken flatbread with dried cherries. Although the best pairing would have been a nice dry, minerally white, we did the pinot noir from the top of the red list and a meritage (Ghost). Both were nice, but the pinot was exceptional- especially after opening up towards the end. For dessert we had a lemon ricotta cheesecake with a bit of lavender in the crust- quite good. We'll definitely be back. Also, all this great food and service came with a price tag of $59. That was about half the cost of the last trip to Purple Cafe with better food, service, and wine.

Had dinner with a friend here recently. Strong drinks, wide variety on menu, plates to share at good prices. We ordered 5 to 6 items and all were quite good. Great, friendly service to boot. Definitely will return.

We didn't arrive until almost 9 pm, making it very difficult to find a place to eat. We did find the Black Bottle to be open, but the food and service were poor. I had the fish tacos and the Ahi Tuna was overcooked and all-in-all they were tasteless. We wouldn't go back again. We were part of a larger group and we shared most of the dishes and there wasn't one that I would rate above average.

Food was excellent but the location specializes in mixed drinks. Having our meal at the bar was entertaining while watching the bartenders hustle!

Our friends who live in Seattle took us to this spot in their neighborhood, which is near Pikes Market. Great wine list and a fun sharing menu, where you order small plates and share. All the dishes were tasty and the wine choices were reasonably priced. We really liked this as a casual dining spot. Gives you a feel for where the locals go to meet with friends.

Excellent food at small to large plate concept menu. Very friendly service, patiently and specifically describing the dishes per your questions. Dishes arrive as they are prepared, but they do build toward your larger choices. We had blistered shishitos, spicy shrimp, short ribs in fabulous malbec braise sauce, and flatbread. All was delicious. Also makers mark bread pudding! The drinks too, great beers and cocktails.

With my wife bringing home the cheery news from the Fred Hutchinson Center Informing me the pandemic will only get worse in the next six weeks, we decided to go out since the virus is in its infancy. I guess other people felt the same way, as the Black Bottle was packed on Tuesday March 10th 2020. Everyone was in a celebratory mood, kind of like the “Last days of Pompeii.” Our bartender Sam couldn’t be nicer and more accommodating, as we ordered wine, cocktail, charcoaled broccoli, meatballs, Ahi Tuna tacos and flatbread. Everything was delicious; the Black Bottle has great bar food, maybe the best in Belltown. People were enjoying themselves all around us. The volcano may be spewing fire and ash, but that didn’t stop these folks from having a good time. Coronavirus, what’s that? Pandemic, what the heck does that mean? Hey Sam, pour me another cocktail. This is the way to weather an eruption of massive proportions. May the lava smother me with a smile on my face. Oblivion can be wonderful.

Enjoyed a nice Shiraz there yesterday with some awesome broccoli. The servers were all very friendly and top notch. The atmosphere was very laid back and casual!

We decided to go to this restaurant with a friend who was visiting because of the good reviews and the recommendations from two friends but we were very disappointed. First, the service was terrible, our waitress was in a bad mood and she was wearing a tank top, shorts and flip flops. Everything counts, one thing is to look informal and friendly, it’s a whole different story to look like you just got came back from the beach. She was not friendly at all and I felt that she wanted us to leave the table as soon as possible. The food we had was mediocre. We ordered an “octopus” salad but we couldn’t even see the octopus since the pieces were tiny. We also had the samosas, which tasted like the ones you buy at the supermarket, and the grilled Portobello, which tasted very similar to the salad, it had a lot of vinegar and it was not very creative/ inspiring. Even the presentation of the food was completely amateurish, it looked like dinner cooked at home in a hurry. It’s a shame the food and the service were so mediocre because the place itself is in a very nice location and the decoration is simple but modern and hip. I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place.

Good veggie options. Yummy food! We got the roasted vegetables and the pesto flatbread- both were delicious and filling!

Was in Belltown and decided to give this a try. We were fortunate to get seated right away. The food was excellent - ordered four items for the two of us to share. I think each item got better as we went - my wife loves the tea smoked duck while my favorite was the wild boar ribs. The only drawback was that it was very load.

Having read the reviews, we expected something extra. However, we got disappointed - except for the wine. Visit for a glass of wine and the nice atmosphere and eat elsewhere!

Went to Black Bottle on a Sunday night while visiting seattle. Found the restaurant through good ratings on yelp actually and was really disappointed. We ordered three tapas, the scallops, octopus and artichokes. There was too much salad filler on the octopus and artichokes, and it felt like both plates had been prepared before hand since they got out of the kitchen so fast, and the plates felt icy cold. Also, there was almost no octopus in my octopus dish, very disappointing. As for the scallops, they were well cooked, and the kale they were served on was good, but the scallops were not seasoned and were way too bland, I could have done better at home. But mostly, the main reason I am giving this place a low rating is because of the way we were treated by the staff. It really felt like the staff was trying to get us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. Wait staff kept coming by to ask if they could take away our plates and I swear the whole meal experience took 25 minutes (including ordering). We went for supper hoping to enjoy a nice evening and a nice supper for two people, and we would have expected to receive each plate one after the other (the tapas plates are meant to be shared) with sufficient time between each plate to relax. Instead, we got all three plates at once, which left our tiny little table way too overcrowded. And I swear the wait staff removed one of the plates before I could finish it. It completely ruined our dinner, I kept feeling extremely rushed. I don't know if it was because we were tourists, or because they had a big group that night, but a horrible experience, not recommended.

We were pleasently surprised! Non-pretentious service, strong flavours, nice veggies. A nice option to hamburgers... Lots of paleo-suitable food!

A very nice restaurant in the very city center of Seattle; the atmosphere is romantic, with dim lights. The food is original and delicious. I have been there in October 2012 and I have to say that it was one of the best dinners in Seattle. I had a very good steak and the selection of wines is wide and accurate. Bread and focaccia are very good too! You have to try it!

This restaurant was recommended by a local Seattleite. I was really looking foreword to going there bus was a bit disappointed. The food was good but the restaurant with it's heigh ceilings is very loud. We literally had to scream at each other. Apparently people don't mind as the place was packed and you hardly get a table without reservation. Maybe the front part of the restaurant is a bit less loud. Not sure if I would go back, as the service was rather aloof.

Celebrating graduation in a private room with Chase. Room was perfect. The food was plentiful and amazing. The pork shank was cut with a spoon! The chicken and collard greens were the most popular. Plentiful of vegetarian selections. This is the perfect place for a gathering. Private bartender, bring your own music, and 40 friends. Chase the bartender was great. Thank you so much!

This restaurant was within easy walking distance of our hotel, and the Space Needle area of Seattle. We'd read some good reviews and decided to try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed. The vibe is relaxed and contemporary, as are the dishes on offer. The menu is fairly extensive but, as the plates are small, you can try several dishes without the risk of wastage. The food we had was delicious and the wine and beer were pretty good too! The service is very friendly and efficient. If we are lucky enough return to Seattle, we will go back to the Black Bottle without hesitation.

Stumbled onto this place by accident, we were passing, we're hungry and thought we would give it a try. What an excellent place it is. They play to their strengths, I.e. food comes out when it's ready and so is really set up for ordering a few dishes to share rather than for formal dining. That suited us perfectly. We had 6 dishes between us (savoury amd sweet) and they were all excellent. If you are after a relaxed and casual dining experience then give this place a try.

Walking back to our condo from Chihuly Garden and Glass we saw this cute little eatery and decided to give it a try - and we are so glad we did. Our family of six order a bunch of different tapa style plates to share and everything was delicious. The also had an eclectic choice of cocktail - which again, everyone ordered something different and shared. The favorite by far was a cocktail called the Unusual Friend. It was so good, that after heading back to our condo for a bit - three in our party went back for more. Unfortunately it caused us to forget some of our belongings that are not lost forever - but we had a great time and a fun story to tell. Service was friendly and prompt.

I get the Tapas concept, I have been to Spain a number of times. If you’re serving dinner, there has to be some concept of bringing food to the table. We had a party of four and ordered six dishes. It took us a little over two and a half hours to have dinner. Dishes came out only one at a time and were easily 20 minutes apart. Sharing a small dish 4 ways and waiting, waiting, waiting is not dinner. If it was only a bar with snacks, I might understand their lack of service- but they call themselves a restaurant! Around the 2 hour point, they asked us if we wanted anything else, yes- the sixth dish which they missed entirely. They apologized profusely and offered a complimentary dessert. Well of course there was another half hour wait. When the bill came, they didn’t charge us for the dessert, but they left the omitted dish on the bill. Overall, the dessert was the best. While all the dishes were tasty, they were all oversalted. And the Pièce de résistance was that near the end of the endless meal, we found out that the roof leaked and had to move chairs around, we are from Seattle but we do like our rain outside. There was just too much wrong to merit a return visit.

We ate here on our last night and after a few expensive places wanted a nice relaxed restaurant to go to and share some food. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the locals plus was a lot quieter then inside. The menu is what we love and we shared about 5 dishes. Unfortunately the ribs weren't available but we had the fried chicken, kimchi pork, beet gratin, flatbread and ocean trout. Ohh and a berry pie to finish off. Enjoyed this place and would come again.

First of all, though I have nothing against the Seattle hipster, this must be the central hub for that crowd in this area. We arrived in an empty bar right before happy hour. Within an hour, the place was overrun with hipsters in their ubiquitous uniforms. Notwithstanding the hipster infestation, the drinks were excellent. We ordered a couple of interesting fusion-esque starters that were less than impressive. And the service was decent, slipping towards inattentive near the end. But because of the large crowd, we didn't hold the failure to see our server in roughly thirty minutes against her. She was friendly, professional, and served up some great adult beverages. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to pop in to the Black Bottle for a drink. I would just recommend finding another place to eat.

The food was good, a bit small for the price. But the service was ...odd. Items came out at random times, they refused to split the bill for our party, some people ordered last but were served first, others got their food 20+minutes after everyone else finished. Maybe groups just aren't their thing, but I probably won't visit again.

We fell into this place on Saturday night. The atmosphere is loud and full of hipsters that are way cool in their dress and behavior. Once you move beyond all the coolness that place has an extensive menu with really good food. The lamb meat balls are our favorite followed by the scallops. You can't lose with this menu.

Found this gem while visiting Seattle. Only three blocks from our hotel (The Edgewater) with great ambiance and a casual vibe. While my husband enjoyed the fried chicken, oxtail, and a throwback manhattan, while I (the vegetarian) savored the tomato/arugula flatbread, roasted tomato caprese, and portobello with butter bean salad. My bee's knees beverage was delicious too!! Excellent service, best we've had in the Seattle area. We eat tapas style often and can usually find at least one flaw in a dish or beverage, but not here. We will be back!

Location: clean. Didn't open until 4 (we walked here from Pike's at 3pm ☹️ Staff: professional. We experienced no issues. Food: we had smoke chicken flatbread and blasted broccoli. It was delicious. For burnt-looking broccoli it was surprisingly yummy. The flatbread was great too. The sweetness of sundries cherries was great. Price: slightly on the $$$ side for basically appetizers, but they were good. Had a dirty martini which wasn't bad either. Worth checking out. I could see this as being a pretty cool atmosphere at night. We went in right at opening, so it was pretty quiet.

We recently met friends for a drink here at 6 pm and we could barely hear each other at a table for four because there was so much noise from other tables. The cocktails were delicious, though!

Shared small plates of crispy fried chicken, ceviche, & a wonderful Greek salad...so tasty and plentiful. I had the pear Volka passion fruit rum drink a that was also delicious. The ambience was relaxing & the server very attentive, service was very fast. One of my best meals yet!

When we planned our vacation to Seattle we thought about the great food we would eat. We went to a TripAdvisor top rated restaurant, only to be fairly disappointed. I searched for Paleo restaurants because I was tired of overpriced, under seasoned food and Black Bottle came up. Let me tell you it was amazing! Had we found this place our first night we would have eaten here every night. Unfortunately we only found it two nights before we left. And yes, we were there both nights. Be sure to get there for happy hour, they only serve bulgogi during happy hour. We had it both nights. We loved the korean shrimp and kimchi pancakes and the micro greens that came with them were good enough to stand on their own. The calamari fra diavolo has a nice kick but it doesn't over power the calamari, which by the way was nice and tender. I normally don't like bacon wrapped scallops because all you usually taste is bacon. With the bacon lemon scallops you taste the scallop. The dates with grilled halloumi cheese was delicious too. We wish they could pick this restaurant up and drop it into our hometown.

Interesting menus with really spicy food. Black Bottle seems to like to add chilli to most of the things it serves, even the cocktails (we had) were spicy. We enjoyed it all, but suggest they use a chilli icon on the menu and the cocktails to denote how hot they are. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

Was visiting the city for a week. Came here twice. The vibe is great but as I was traveling for work, was alone but felt totally comfortable sitting at the bar The bartenders were both excellent. Can I say, just seemed like down to earth , nice guys? ( Logan and Sam, on separate nights). Great service. Logan introduced me to the most incredible Cabernet wine (Taylor Mag). Order it! The small plates are fantastic! Delicious! The place seemed popular with the locals

We went to Black Bottle for a late dinner. The drinks we chose were unique yet mediocre and we ordered the Prosciutto and Béchamel flatbread and Natural Hanger Steak. The steak tasted like it was seasoned with soy sauce but the flatbread was maybe the best thing we ate in Seattle. It was creamy, delicious, perfect size. We'd go back again for the flatbread in a heartbeat!

The service was wonderful and the ambiance youthfully chic (Seattle style). The food was probably excellent too except that the four small plates we ordered turned out to be exceptionally spicy: (Empanadas, seven spice shrimp, cholas batura and cauliflower fritters). Even with the help of a large amber beer I couldn't quench the fire. So it might be a good idea to ask your server about the degree of heat that characterizes each dish. Would probably go back and exercise this caution next time.

Several small plates for three came out over time so by the time #4 came we'd eaten and really weren't to keen on it - it being the grilled broccoli which was burnt. The scallop was very good, nice place and worth a second visit

Everything we had from the wild board ribs to the yellow fin tuna carpaccio to the lamb meatballs was super spicy. No indication of that on the menu or from the waiter. Service was good but I would not recommend Black Bottle.

Urban-chic vibe on the edge of Belltown. Unpretentious service, well-executed small plates and hipster digs. Manages to have some authenticity too (which is rare for Belltown). Would certainly return!

The food here is great, a bit pricey for Tapas but the portions are slightly bigger than your normal tapas bar. We also really enjoyed our specialty cocktails here. The decor is classy though you can walk in a bit more casual and feel right at home. All together we had the kale and nuts salad, chorizo hash, pork belly, and scallops. Everything was tasty and prompt.

Just looking for some bites. Good lord did we choose correctly! Embarrassingly have never been here even though I've lived downtown (Pike Market) for +35 years and they've been open since 2005. Broccoli blasted, roasted pork belly, gambas al ajillo (shrimp+chorizo), flat bread. All fantastic. We will be back.

Wow....so glad we decided to try this place. Came on a Friday night with a group of four....TIP- Make a reservation!! This place is packed, and we did not have a reservation, so we ended up waiting over an hour for a table. (Ducked into C.S. Finnegan's next door for some excellent wine and beer while waiting!) Anyway, the wait was well worth it, because the food and ambiance were great. It is really dark, so be prepared to squint. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with suggestions. Between the four of us we ordered seven dishes...shared family style. Great progression of food throughout the night, as we finished one dish another was brought out. All of the dishes were really good. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a very nice meal at Black Bottle after arriving from the UK and checking into our nearby hotel. Good service and great food in a cool setting - we ordered several dishes to share between the four of us - all were great and the crispy fried chicken with collard greens was the standout dish. We thought all the dishes were very reasonably priced given the excellent quality. Nice and reasonably priced bottle of wine to go with the food.

The food was ok but the service was terrible even though it wasn't that crowded. I like their idea of serving small portions but the food itself wasn't that great.

My daughter and I totally enjoyed the food...it's outside the box and reasonably priced. It is loud for sure. Our waitress was great. A woman came in with a dog and sat at the bar closely adjacent to a table where her dog was right next to a young woman (eating her meal) who was clearly annoyed. I cannot see how this dog could have been of service to this woman except to have a dining companion. I wish restaurants would kindly disallow people bringing their pets inside; it has gotten out of control.

I had the fortune of dining at this restaurant, and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the experience! I've been making my rounds of Seattle eateries, and it certainly makes sense to me why this place is ranked as highly as it is...the food is just GOOD! Here's how it went down for me: 1. Cocktail - So, the bartender whipped up a lavender mojito for me that was AMAZING! 2. Small Plate 1 - Spicy coconut lemon-ginger ceviche w/taro crisps...VERY good...the Taro crisps were AMAZING! 3. Small Plate 2 - malbec Demi-glazed painted hills farm oxtail...EXCELLENT! 4. Small Plate 3 - bacon lemon scallops w/frizzled kale...Good! 5. Small Plate 4 - pork belly and kimchi...STOP THE PRESSES...AMAZING!!! 6. Small Plate 5 - spice-seared sashimi yellowfin w/asparagus salad...Good! 7. Dessert - cacao nib mousse torte w/chili pistachio brittle...the star of this dish is DEFINITELY the brittle...WOW!!! You DEFINITELY want to check this place out...TOTALLY worth it!

We had a great evening at Black Bottle. Lucky for us, a window table opened up as we arrived, so we had a cozy corner from which to watch the restaurant and the street. Friendly, capable service. Fantastic food with very interesting flavors. Get the broccoli!

This was place was down the street from our hotel. It was a nice place to have a drink and relax during our vacation. We stopped here at least 3 times during our week stay. We really ejoyed coming here for drinks and a light late lunch.

This is a place that gets busy fast! Outside seating is great, if you sit near the door in the winter you will freeze to death. Their food is delicious, our favorite is the blasted broccoli. Great service and an overall fun place to hang out.

Thoroughly recommend the Black Bottle for value, atmosphere and food.

Liked the look of the advertised menu. The food had flavour. But - there wasn't enough lighting to be able to read the small print menu. We didn't realise that it was more of a 'tasting' menu and that, as a result, we would all get food to eat at the same time. Such a shame. Would not recommend because of this

The food here is really, really good. The Wild boar ribs are AMAZING. they are so good, these are one of the first items on the menu to run out daily. Black Bottle is small and cozy - not too small mind you, just sizeable enough to not get overwhelming. The staff are very attentive and the service is great, the food is ALWAYS good and they have really good wines as well. I used to be a regular happy hour guest when i worked down town. I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for tapas or a group of people wanting the option to eat a little bit of everything. their small plates usually have enough food for 2 people to get a healthy taste of each selection.

Black Bottle is my go-to place when I meet with friend for a drink on a Friday night! There is a good selection of cocktails that's regularly updated so there is always a chance of trying something new!

Had some friends visiting from out of state. She found this restaurant while walking through town. I had heard from local friends how great it was so we decided to try it. We did get a table for 3 as soon as we walked in on a Friday night around 8:00. I ordered a Dry Fly gin (local) and tonic and the sashimi yellow fin with asparagus salad. The drink was great!! My food was great!! Although the "asparagus salad" was a little light on the title vegetable and contained mostly edemame - still good though. My friends however did not enjoy their food - pork belly with kimchi and the duck. The waiter did notice that he didn't like the duck, was really nice and offered to bring him something else. So he chose the fried chicken with greens - he liked the chicken but not the greens. His whiskey sour was heavy on the sour. All our orders came out separately (which they told us when we ordered) but they all were basically appetizers with entre' prices. Don't know if I'd go back for that reason alone.

It's a must in downtown everything is so good food service ambiance they have it all good experience we went twice in a trip of 10 days

This was my second time at Black Bottle. Would definitely visit again if in Seattle. Love this place. Food is small plates with lots of different choices for all. We over ordered so I would advise to start small and order more if still hungry. Service is awesome. Cocktails were great. Staff were fun and atmosphere was good. We noticed there was an event in the corner which looked like it should have been shut down and moved to a table as it was a busy night and there was only a couple of people left but they were taking up a lot of space (not their fault) but made them a bit of a spectacle. Do love this place and would return.

i know it sounds like a cognitive dissonance, like a drunkard's tale, but that's exactly how you're going to perceive Seattle as, after this Belltown gem! It encompasses all "u's" that you could possibly imagine: uber, ultra etc, all followed by cool! Sit inside and enjoy the vibe, sit outside and let others enjoy you...food is excellent regardless of where you finally decide to sit... Clever cheese selection and a chef that def knows how to charm a european addicted to bread (well, that's me), as he bakes his own really-hard-to-resist piece of golden dough! Try their sausages and ask staff for awesome local beers...they would be more than happy to help you out, and when they do...Seattle will remain shiny in your mind everafter!

Little gem of a place..just two blocks away from my sisters house in seatle..went for dinner..not a regular tapas place..nice ambience..little dark for me ..but ok...spicy shrimps amazing... Slow cooked lamb shank with masala peas..amazing... Had ox tail.. Was mind blowing....d best ox tail I have ever eaten....drinks were ok..sangria was ok..nothing special...

Sophisticated and casual dining rolled into one. Superb food, small plates for sharing, knowledgeable staff, great service, modern environment, great wine, good value - only sorry we didn't have the opportunity to go a second time on this our first Seattle trip

There are several places to enjoy happy hour in the area. Stay a short time at each and enjoy a cross section of Seattle's interesting citizens and night spots. Take a cab!

Wow. Just *wow*. I have just eaten the best food, in my life, ever. And it was all vegetarian. It was so good, I'm actually unable to articulate exactly how good it was. There are no words. It was absolute perfection.

interesting and eclectic menu of tasty choices of small plates to share. The flatbread was yummy and we couldn't finish it because we knew we had more coming. We went with 3 choices to start as the server recommended. The restaurant was busy on a Thurs night including their private bar/ function room. We enjoyed our choices and finished with the peach pie - wine list by the glass was very good too.

We rented there private room for a party there and had our own bar and bartender. The food was terrific.

Service and staff? Excellent! Food? Fantastic! Wine? delicious! My evening at Black Bottle will be repeated.

We originally had reservations elsewhere but when they told us they couldn't honor them right away, we left to find somewhere else to eat. We saw this gem on the corner with only a few people inside and decided to stop and eat. The food here was simply amazing. We tried a little of everything and within the hour the place was packed! Good value and taste for your money.

The food was delicious (Chicken, cherry flatbread) but the terrible service! Not by one but by a few of the waiters. Truly terrible service. We were told they would automatically add 20% to our check for tip, so the waiter was guaranteed at least that which is a tip you give for really good service, if not extraordinary service, the only thing extraordinary about it, was the lack of concern, service and friendliness of all the waiters we came in contact with. We were a party of 7, all of the 7 were in agreement of this statement. Happy hour specials here are not worth the visit!

Cool local pub/restaurant, great service, limited menu, had the smoked chicken flatbread, it was average, but I am not a fan of smoked flavor, so if you are, this is the item to chose.

We had a group of nine for dinner at Black Bottle and had a great time. I lost count but would guess we possibly consumed as many as twenty plates of delicious food [Note: the top guy from corporate in our party was getting the check, so none of the rest of us was concerned with our bill.] The consensus among our group was that the hanger steak and scallops were the best dishes, but we really enjoyed everything. But be warned: the Seven Spice Shrimp will light up your world!

This restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. It is a great place if you want to have a glass of wine (great selection!) or a beer and something little to eat. In particular try the grilled cheese. Definitely a good place.

Typical hipster bar, as Londoners we felt like we were in the heart of Shoreditch! Low lighting, exposed walls and lightbulbs etc. There is a decent wine menu, prices aren't too bad (you can get a bottle of reasonable Wine for $35-40). Loved the food! Great portion sizes The tuna wasn't the freshest, but was flavoured well. We LOVED the ceviche, and the roasted market veggies were very flavoursome. I really enjoyed the salty mango coconut dessert, but husband wasn't so sure. Friendly staff. We thought $95 dollars for a bottle of wine and full tummies was good value for money, but haven't been in Seattle long enough to benchmark against other places (but I don't think we'd have had as much for the same price in London).

This place sits in a great neighborhood and has the typical dishes from a gastropub but with great tapas flair. Worth a visit and stay for. Few hours and check out the drinks menu with the side decor

I dined here solo and was made to feel very comfortable. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic, small plates, interesting combinations. Great wine list and liked it so much I went back the next night with my husband.

Nice place.. Vv good food.. Sangria was good.. Prawns dish was good. So was d chicken cooked with chanas ( Indian touch to d Spanish dish ) good stuff..

Some of the small plates are a little weird (and spicy) but it's a fun place and most of the food is good, especially the ribs and flat breads. Kind of dark inside, so it's sometimes hard to know what you're ordering. Young professional crowd.

My husband and I went for dinner at the Black Bottle in Bellevue and thought our meal was wonderful. It is a Tapas-style restaurant, so we shared three dishes, two seafood dishes and one meat. Our first dish, the Manila clams with Chorizo ($13), was very good, but unfortunately lost some of its appeal when we spooned the clams with their delicious sauce onto our ice-cold plates. The clams came with three slices of grilled baguette - why only 3? As their were two of us, it would make more sense to provide an even number of slices ... Our second dish, the Bacon-wrapped Lemon Scallops with 'Frizzled' (deep-fried) Kale ($16) was outstanding - and by that time our plates had warmed sufficiently to not detract from the food. The Kale was a delicious accompaniment, with the slight bitterness perfectly complimenting the richness of the scallops. Our third (and favourite) dish was the Pork Belly and Kimchi ($11), served on three skewers, and they were so marvelous my mouth is watering while I'm typing this. We aren't big eaters, and found the three dishes to be perfect for us (although my companion in a huge clam-fan, and felt he could have eaten a few more ...). We look forward to returning to this restaurant to try three different dishes, or maybe visit with a third person and really knock ourselves out!

This is a quintessential bell town restaurant. In a part of town 15 years ago that was burnout and only hosted a few good restaurants. Now thriving and always adding cool new places to tryout. This is definite one of them. The menu is very inventive and gives you options that you don't see every day. They go out on a limb at times and don't appear to be be scared to take risks with new cuisine ideas. Yes you are bold and fearless, love that! Tonight I tried the cauliflower fritters and raita, coconut lemon ceviche with taro chips, lamb meat balls with sumac hummus, pork shank with apple brandy and hazelnuts, bacon wrapped scallops with drizzled kale, crispy artichoke hearts with crispy farro & garlic. Yes that a lot of small plates but I like to try a bit of everything. I must say that it all was exceptional with just two exceptions. The lamb meat balls were very dry and the crispy artichoke was good though the farro had the texture of rocks? Our waitress was delightful and noticed that we were not digging too much on the artichoke. She offered to remove it from the bill before we asked. I commented this was very cool that she just did the right thing! Way to read your guests! I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Seattle this is a great place to go and see (taste) what's cooking

Enjoyed some awesome tapas and a glass of wine here tonight. A great place to take your time and enjoy some healthy yummy food. Our favorite was the beets - they tasted like dessert and are a must to have if you like beets. The duck breast was also a favorite. I would return and try some other dishes in the future.

We were travelling from Portland to Vancouver on a Monday, and after getting a late start leaving Portland we realized we weren't going to make it to Vancouver by dinner, so we rolled into Seattle without much of a plan around 9:45. Many restaurants seemed to be closing up, but we didn't want to waste a meal during our short trip and settle for anything that wasn't well reviewed. A quick online search brought this place up as a good place for a late dinner, so we figured we'd give it a shot. Found free parking right around the corner, so that was a good start. Upon entering there was a smattering of people who all seemed to be young, local urbanites, so that was a good sign as well. Continuing on, wait staff was very attentive and helpful throughout the whole meal. Got the blasted broccoli as an appetizer which, despite not being the biggest broccoli fan, I found to be quite tasty. Was only just two of us eating it, but easily probably could have fed 4 people since we barely managed to finish it along with the rest of our food. Also got scallops wrapped in bacon as well as a flatbread with olives (and other ingredients which are escaping me at the moment). The scallops/bacon were perfectly cooked, and while the topping for the flatbread was yummy, strangely the component I think I've remembered the best is the crust. I feel flatbread crusts are usually just a throw-away and serve only to hold the toppings, but not in this case. This crust was a little bit thicker and almost had a biscuit-y lightness to it. When I raved about it to the waiter he told me that the chef also adds a bit of honey to the dough to give it just a hint of sweetness. Is always nice when attention is paid to these small details. Overall, a great meal and definitely worth considering if you're in a late night pinch for dinner.

We went here for a party in the event space. It was disappointing that they did not have the space available on time- it was a surprise party and the couple was to be there shortly after we were supposed to have the room. It seems they need to plan their events better as the space didn't even clear out until after we were supposed to already be in there. Since there was our group waiting to go in, there was not much room to wait inside and so some of us had to stand outside waiting in the cold wind and rain because they were not ready for us. The room for events is decent sized but doesn't seem laid out well as there are only a few small tables so we had to stand for the entire event. It is nice that you have your own bar area and bartender in the space. We only had drinks and they were good. May try this place sometime on our own as other reviewers seem to like this place, but would not recommend this place for events with more than 20 people. The food that some people ordered looked good.

I went there with a work gathering. We reserved the "large group" room which turned out to be a bunch of bistro tables lining the wall surrounding an open, empty space. The impression I got was that the tables that were normally there were needed somewhere else. There was a poorly supplied bar there which was helpful in increasing my appreciation the overall bleak decor. I found a drinkable beer on the menu and stuck with that. Apparently our group had ordered the hors d'oeuvres menu because were presented a steady stream of hit-or-miss dishes of miscellaneous miss-mash. Some of it was actually surprisingly tasty, but much of it was just --- odd. Lima beans? On a plate? That's a dish? At least there was enough to share, unlike most of the stuff. The restaurant is in the right place to find its audience and it seems to have done so, because it was packed to the gills with 20-somethting dinks, yuppies, Belltown grungies and whatever impressing each other with how eclectic they are. I would not recommend this establishment for families, business groups or really anyone who isn't deep into the "Seattle scene".

They have a decent wine list, but it is a little overpriced and hard to get more than a single glass. However, the small plates are delicious and fun to share when visiting for a happy hour date or a quick bite.

Had a good pinot grigio with the well-prepared plates of broccoli blasted, arugula tomato basil pesto flatbread, hanger steak, and scallops. Closed with the lemon curd ricotta cake lavender crust which I enjoyed but still don't prefer the lavender.

A trendy cocktail spot that also makes incredible shared dishes, plus open late. I've been several times and the staff is always friendly and accessible, plus super handy in recommending dishes or drinks. Their cocktails range in style and price, and you'll probably walk out paying for a nice night out, and have a bit of a speakeasy flair to them. I'm a fan of the Bees Knees. Food is great, with one main entree probably feeding a semi-hungry person...but the dishes are meant to be shared, to order at least one per hungry party member. Staff is chill, so if you want more nibbles, they are happy to accommodate. Also, I'm a super carnivore, but their veggie dishes are SO well flavored, I actually prefer the broccoli!

This is a nice little place close to downtown. I was looking for a nice quiet dining experience and that's what I got. Got seated quickly with no reservations and the wait staff where just ok. The menu is nice and simple and the wine pairing was great. They had some nice local choices and some from out of state. Oh we got to seat in the front window which was crazy nice! We got the ox tail which was cooked perfectly. The bread was on point. We asked for more to get all the good juices from our ox tail. The only reason I'm giving it a four star rating is that it's dark in there like really dark. Plus it's a bit pricey for what you're getting. Other than that if you want a nice place that's not rushed and severs great food this is the place!

I was putting together a little reunion spot w/ friends and the Black Bottle in Belltown was recommended. Definitely a super cool spot ~ the food is delish & perfect for sharing and the staff was extremely accommodating (were able to keep 2 tables for friends coming in/out throughout the night). I would say it is a boutique-hipster location in Seattle. It can definitely get packed in there, so grab a seat early! Definitely would recommend it!

This is a charming place and the back room has especially nice ambiance. We had the meze platter, one of the flat breads and the lemon ricotta cheesecake with lavender crust—-all delicious but that cheesecake was outstanding. Jordan, our server, was friendly and provided just the right amount of attention. The Cabernet I ordered (Mark Ryan The Chief Board Track Racer) was really special…superb! We were just in Seattle for a few days and wish we’d found Black Bottle sooner…we would have gone back!

We had squid or calamari and the presentation was far above the typical plate of tentacles in most restaurants. The batter was uncommonly light and the squid was fresh and tender. I had the olive and leak flat bread which was perfect, and so rich with flavor. Then we tried a cocao nib mousse and chocolate gnocchi with a pistachio brittle. I think that tops my desert list forever. There is a full bar, an extensive array of wine, and for us there were several good beers. Service was excellent, and e decor contemporary. If more restaurants were like this I wouldn't have to write so many bad reviews!!! Highly reccommend.

Black bottle is always a personal favorite when we are in Bellevue or Seattle. The food is always good and so are the cocktails. The place in Bellevue does a chole(Indian chickpea curry) with pitta that's quite good. The black bottle in Seattle does not have that on the menu but what they do have is pretty good. The chorizo and clams is tasty. The flatbreads are warm, crispy and a great accompaniment with drinks. For the vegetarians cauliflower fritters, the broccoli and the asparagus flatbread are all quite good. The fried tofu nuggets were tasty but I thought they were a little heavy. But that's also probably because I had too many of their amazing cocktails by then! My personal favorite is the gin with fresh juice. It's not heavy and does not fill me up which lets me enjoy my food. Black Bottle in general has good service. Doesn't matter if it's in Bellevue or Seattle. The standard seems to be good in both places. I went back to this place after a gap of a year and the food is as good as I remember from my previous visit. The thing I like most about this place is the fact that I can go with a group of friends and we can all relax. You can talk over drinks and no one makes you feel like you need to leave. The atmosphere is inviting. Place is quite full lost days but not too noisy. So other people an still hear what you are trying to say. Black bottle is a good choice if you don't want to go to a traditional restaurant for dinner but more want to relax in a pub which has lots of options for food!

This is one of our favorite Seattle restaurants after two visits. Service was very good despite good-natured crowd. Patrons mostly 30 to 45-year-old professionals. We had masala chicken drumsticks, roasted tomato caprese, portobello grilled and all three were superb. We also had smoked wild board ribs that were too spicy (not mentioned on menu or when ordering) and were very dry. The waiter saw that I wasn't eating them and, since I didn't want anything else, said they would just them off the bill. House merlot and pinot were very acceptable. Our dining neighbor, a culinarty school student, had seared sashimi tuna and said it was excellent (it was barely seared but looked good too). This is a classy, customer-oriented place.

Definitely a place to go if you are in Seattle and you are a foodie! Beats the heck out of waiting on tourist lines for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. The hanger steak, broccoli blasted and fried tofu nuggets all rock!

A very hipster city vibe. The wait staff was in skinny jeans and plaid shirts lol. The drink glasses are a little small, but food was on point. FYI the ceviche has shellfish in it, but doesn't say that on the menu. The ahi was a great fusion dish, with a lovely side salad. I could binge eat the roasted vegetables and the flat bread was a lovely mix of sweet and savory as well.

Service was poor and it seemed that there were too few serving staff for the number of clients. It was the only place we had eaten during our 3 week long trip that did not serve iced water but the did supply ice when asked. My husband and I ordered our meals from the meat section. Mine came together with the flatbread we had ordered but no sign of my husbands sausages! When he eventually went to ask where his meal was he was told their kitchen operated a sharing system so one meal came to share and later the next. BUT I did not want his sausages. The menu made no reference to sharing platters as we were used to. BUT both meals were very tasty. Beer and wine more expensive than other places in the area.

Our group of 5 each ordered a different entree and then we shared as each dish was brought to the table separately. The food tasted great but the portions were a little small. The service was good and the atmosphere in downtown Seattle was nice.

I loved everything about this cute little place. The neighborhood in this part of downtown is chill and the service is top drawer! The menu was kooky and fun and I walked out a new fan of broccoli! Who knew? I love this place!!!

Great place. Very casual. Good beer. Food was Amal sharing portions, a bit like tapas. But delicious local dishes. The frizzy broccoli a speciality.

We met some friends in Seattle for a long weekend, our first night there we didn't have any set dinner plans so we stopped in Black Bottle. In our hometown we have a great tapas restaurant but the portions at Black Bottle were significantly larger. Everything we ordered was great including scallops, flat bread, pork, vegetables and chicken. The atmosphere was great and the soundtrack for the night had us all humming to the tunes all night. Highly recommend and will be back!

My husband and I went here for a late dinner one of our nights in Seattle. We were staying downtown so we just walked to the restaurant. We ordered the spicy shrimp and the yellowfin. They were both delicious but very spicy. We also got the broccoli, which was surprisingly really good. Our waiter was great and very knowledgeable about the menu items. Only bad thing is there was no tv to watch the football game.

Great food, fun atmosphere, awesome place! If in Belltown, a must for food and/or a drink.

The food was so good here.. I went with a large group that was served without a hitch and so I brought my wife back for a nice dinner for two.. Both experiences were terrific. The food did not disappoint (loved the Boar Ribs!) and the beverages were quite good.... The only negative is that my wife does not drink and all they have is soda pop... which is kind of pathetic for a great place... But that was minor for me (major for my wife!) but it is odd that there is not a better non-alcohol drink menu... major oversight that..

Great food good price! Blasted brocoli is a big dish and a bit spicey! We went at 6 pm and it was almost empty but clearly the place will be packed later as amount of wait staff. My hub and I had flatbread, fried chicken and broccoli. We shared it all and left full.

Stumbled onto the Black Bottle while looking for some light late evening dinner (after 9PM), and boy are we glad we did. The night of our visit, they played cool vintage rock at a low volume that allowed quiet conversation and music enjoyment simultaneously. How rad is that! The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The menu was interesting, a mix of appealing small plates, seductiive appetizers and accompaniments with affordable prices. Late as it was, we went with bacon wrapped scallops on frizzled kale, a surprisingly great meal. We also tried the Hangar steak with greens. Cooked perfectly and attractively plated. We sampled some well made cocktails and found the place enchanting. The neighborhood is a bit uneven, so take care and be sure not to miss the Black Bottle if a sophisticated hide-away place sounds intriguing to you.

Food excellent, service great and ambience relaxed. Couples and groups. Good varied selection on men's

We obviously aren't the typical Black Bottle crowd, meaning not stereotypical hipster, but we enjoy good food in a good atmosphere and sought out Black Bottle based on the reviews. The food was very good - but it was laced with pompousness that left a nasty taste with every bite and forced us out as quickly as possible. So disappointing that the food was ruined by the atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, unique menu, eclectic but some great meaty choices like the ribs. We had 6 pics (a bit more than tapas size) very happy!

My partner and I and our wives had dinner here on a Friday night and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is on the level 1 corner of an older building on 1st street. It's been renovated to a modern contemporary style but saving the old wooden floors and leaving the brick an stone walls exposed. It is similar to a tapas style restaurant, with selection of salad, main courses, and vegetables all separate, but portions are more generous. The menu has something for everyone. Desserts were wonderful and wine list was both satisfactory and reasonably priced. Service was friendly, engaging and responsive. Finally, it's just a cool place with a good vibe to it. We would recommend it and we would come back on our next visit to Seattle!

One of my top 3 restaurants in Seattle. The food selection is so varied, delicious, and reasonably priced. 3 must gets: Blasted Broccoli- So simple, just broccoli broiled with olive oils, salt and pepper. But amazing. Laab Gai- These are awesome chicken lettuce wraps. A little spicy. Great citrusy flavor Oxtail- Ok, you first instinct may be to think, "Why would I want to eat something that spent so many years next to an ox's butt?" But (pun intended) give it a shot. It is soooooooo tender and such a sweet, delicious flavor. Another thing I like about this place is that food comes out as it's ready. They don't wait for all items for a table's order to be ready before bringing it out. My one gripe is their servers can act bothered/annoyed by you at times. When I am dropping money on a restaurant, the last thing I want to feel is guilty for asking my server for anything. I have experienced/seen countless eye rolls here (mostly from one mousy server girl.) The food is 100% on point though!

Located in Belltown on the corner of 1st and Vine. I remember when this place first opened. When small plates became the hot ticket item. There now is a Black Bottle in Bellevue with a menu to match Seattle. Hey, if it ain't broke....don't fix it. BB caters to all unless you are under 21. I'm sure if the entire venue was rented for a private party, arrangements could be made. Considering the space size, concrete and iron floor to ceiling and dense seating, the acoustics are not too shabby. Black bottle refers to themselves as a tavern but to me a tavern is divey with only beer and not so great wine. Very opposite of this place. The decor is rough, jagged and simple with specialty cocktails and a great wine selection. I would elude far from "tavern." It clearly states on the website "service is efficient and informal" and by golly did they hit the nail on the head with that one. The great food/drink knowledge but the lack of exuberant personality of our bartender, also our server made him quite adorable. He was punctual, matter of fact and it seemed everyone was on the same team. I like that a lot. Starter cocktails 1) Rising Sun-Rita, sweet and yummy. I couldn't taste the sake 2) Clemency - vodka lemon rose, geranium shakin' served up. It was clean with an after bite I think from the geranium. Almost bitter and was a little too much for me, but not my boozer friend ;) When it came to the food there are only two reasons I can think of why every dish had a bit too much salt. 1) The Chef is a smoker. Cigarette smoke dulls the palate, therefore making it seem a dish requires more salt. 2) The chef is not tasting the food, therefore over curing or preserving. I'm not saying anything was inedible. In fact, with anice paring of the pinot grigio by Monitore Estates, it was good. A lot of dishes of pork product featured which we all know is a naturally salty meat. These choices listed below I'm going to rate in Salt Factor 1= lowest 5= highest House Smoked Wild Boar Ribs SALT = 3 most rub can be kind of salty so this stayed in the game of mild salt. The baor was cooked great and fell completely off the bone. Yum! Bacon Lemon Scallops with Frizzled Kale SALT = 2 Again, with the bacon added salt but was neutralized by the kale. I think the scallops were left on the pan 10 seconds too long on each side making it a medium temp but still tasty. Gruyere Emmentaler Beet Gratin with Mache/Rocket SALT = 2 This dish a MUST MUST MUST (assuming you like beets). Very thinly sliced red beets with guyere cheese layered, this is where the salt comes in from the cheese, baked up like a quiche with crunch cheese on top. Rocket is the vegetable, a green like arugula. You slice the beets in pie slices, sip on that pinot grigio and say "may I please have another?" Broccoli Blasted SALT = 1 This too is a MUST. It looks charred but it's not. Perfect al dente with the right amount of seasoning and flavor. There is nothing oily or obtrusive about this side dish. Prosciutto Potato Pinwheels SALT = 5 I think every single element of this dish was soaked in salt. Granted Proscuitto is salty but every other component was as well. It lacked balance and this food is the epitome of the chef did NOT taste their food. I swear I puffed up after the a taste of the Pinwheels. Actually, I'm sure it was a combination of the entire meal. A nice try on comfort food, shoot, maybe they should just fry the Pinwheels and call it a day. The atmosphere is great for casual or after work. Prices are right. Food is good. Next time I'm going to try a bunch of other things but I'm keeping the beets and broccoli around. Service is mild and diligent. I will go again.

Small restaurant, dark with menu difficult to read. Was only moderately busy but service was slow. Very attentive but seemed like too few wait staff. Food was definitely served to share. Difficult to decide how much to order. Reasonable price. With more experience with this restaurant would likely increase our enjoyment.

Black Bottle is one of my favorite spots in Seattle. Sure parking can be a challenge and sometimes there's a wait but for their great wine selection and their oh so yummy blasted broccoli, I think it's worth it. Their blasted broccoli can bring a smile to even the vegetable haters out there - it's so deliciously good and the plate is huge so you can eat your heart out! Crispy, warm, and lightly seasoned, just how I like my veggies. They also have tons of other tapas style small bites (flatbreads are yummy), vegetarian options, and desserts, but to be honest, I'm just enamored by the broccoli! Bottom line, whether it's a group dinner or a special date, Black Bottle is a fun little wine bar that is sure to leave you with a smile.

WE went as a group of six with a last minute reservation, got great service and the nine dishes we ordered were all individual, unique and very delicious. The service was very good, too.

Went to this local restaurant with friends after a show and didn't expect too much. Was impressed by the intimate yet hip ambiance. I think its a great place to go for dinner/drinks with friends or even a date-night. My friends had been here before and were raving about the food. One in particular is a vegetarian who kept going on and on about the delicious brocholi blast and califlower dish. He was right! Everything we ordered was amazing! We had the delicious malbec glazed oxtail, chicken/cherry flatbread, boccoli blasted, roasted cauliflower curried, grilled portobello mushroom salad and prosciutto/bacamel flatbread. I'd love to try more dishes and was super impressed. Prices were very reasonable and with drinks it came out to about $25/person. There's a nice bar too!

very bad service and management there very sloppy to me seem like the worker had little to much to drink...

A great place in sec 63 Noida commercial market I visit in black bottle plus kitchen with friends lots of fun and food and drink are very nice and stater are very testy .more offer in Black .there try it fish and chips .owesome food i Like it ........next visit again.....

The vegetable dishes is where the kitchen excels. The service is attentive and the value is good. Highly recommended for an informal meal

Sooo good, the tapas style small plates will have you wanting to order two of each!!! The hazelnut, goat cheese, pancetta salad was incredible, and the bacon wrapped scallops sealed the deal. Also the martinis are A+

A neighborhood pub that serves some very tasty food. Stopped in by myself early on weekday evening, a few other patrons but not crowded; service was friendly and helpful. Ordered two dishes - the smoked boar ribs and the lamb meatballs, and both were really really good. Well beyond ordinary pub grub, there is nothing faked or microwaved here. My only disappointment was that the main plates were still on the "tapas size" - wanted more of this really good food; next time i'll a couple of more together to make a full meal.

Available table, sat outside, warm night. Clearly filled with locals who were coming home from work. Server helped us with what to order.

I went here with a bunch of friends for a happy hour on a Friday afternoon. We had called ahead for a table so we were seated quickly. Service was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks all around, and a bit of everything from the happy hour menu. Every item was consistently well prepared and delicious despite the crowd, the drinks were good, and the place was hopping. Highly recommended, would absolutely make a repeat visit to the Black Bottle. If you're a group, you should probably call ahead to ensure a place to sit, as the venue isn't particularly large and it's quite popular.

Tapas-style dining in a very dimly-lit space. We shared several plates and each was was very good. I would say the lamb meatballs were the real standout though. Service was friendly and fairly attentive. Not cheap but an excellent meal.

Small plates were not quite tappas, a bit larger. Their signature dish, broccoli blasted, wasn't anything to write home about. The dishes we shared seemed to miss finishing salt or seasonings. This included the pork shank. The panna cotta with drunken strawberries was perfect. Good wine and nice atmosphere.

We had several dishes. They are know for their broccoli burst I think it's called. Was fantastic. Lots o' broccoli and very tasty. Also had a nice bottle of red Washington wine. Was very good. Lastly, the scallops were perfectly cooked and wonderful. They were playing some funk music throughout the night, which i kinda dug. Was a cool place for a romantic dinner or fun with a small group for some modern fare. Really enjoyed our night out there.

The Black Bottle is very popular with the late night hipster crowd. Patrons spill outside on warm summer nights, where they can enjoy wines on tap by the carafe, ample portions (try the chicken Masala), and music more familiar to a younger crowd. This is a great restaurant to top off a game at Safeco Field.

Black Bottle was recommended to us by a friend and was luckily right across the street from our hotel. Really cool building, happy hour seemed to be buzzing when we arrived, and the lights were quiet low (I wish the menus had been printed in a slightly larger font). The staff wasn't overly attentive but the food was good. Would be good with a few more people to dine with so you can order more dishes to try!

We came in for dinner and cocktails at the bar on a Saturday night. The date and grilled halloumi cheese dish and the seven spice shrimp were amazing! Our bartender seemed incredibly aloof and seemed bothered that we chose to dine at the bar rather than take a table but overall it was a pretty great dinner.

Couldnt decide where to eat so hubby picked here after flicking through a visit Seattle magazine. I was hesitant but so glad I went. Tapas style small portions and really good food. Did not enjoy the flatbreads very much nor the pork shank but the lamb meatballs and scallops were amazing!

Loved the menu. Lots of fresh organic veggies used to make creative bites that are great to share with drinks.

I was looking forward to visiting this place as it came recommended by a co-worker but sadly I was disappointed. I'll start with the venue itself. The room is great and has been designed and decorated to be very modern and clean. The food was pretty good. The seared yellow fin was almost too spicy but still very good overall. The flatbread and lamb meatballs were both decent. I'm a little perplexed as to why the blasted broccoli is so special - it's just roasted broccoli with some oil and salt and pepper. I mean it's ok but that's all it is. The real issue I had was with the service. The dude was an idiot. He didn't seem to particularly care and didn't seem to know anything about the food in the menu. He was also wearing a hoodie and jeans?! (Another server was wearing a t-shirt and shorts). He didn't seem to know anything about timing or how a meal is to be eaten and started bringing food out three minutes after my cocktail and didn't bother asking if we wanted wine with our dinner. Anyways I'm just ranting now but don't think I would return unless they hired done proper wait staff, which is a shame because the food was pretty good and the room awesome.

I always get the steak. Its always tasty and doesn't feel too heavy. This is my default place for a steak and a chill night out with few friends.

There was not a plate that was disappointiing! First, great cocktails. I had the Slow Magic, well, I had two because it was so good. Nice beer selection too. We shared the lamb meatballs and sumac hummus, the scallops with kale, the cauliflower fritters. All were perfectly prepared, tasty and rather generous for "small" plates. We couldn't resist dessert -- the kettle tart was the best dessert my husband ever had--he still says that. I took the ricotta cheesecake with lavendar home, and it was marvelous even the next day. Our server Kate H. was amazing--she cheked back with us often, didn't rush us and was helpful.

We had three small plates and enjoyed every one. The halloumi with dates and blasted broccoli were especially good. There was an interesting wine selection too. Alex, our server, was very helpful, friendly and efficient. We’d definitely go back!

Popped in here for some drinks. Very nice setting but the place didn't really excite us. Got a few bar snacks (eg cauliflower) and the portions were large. Happy Hour 4pm - 6pm with dollar off drinks.

On our first visit to Seattle, we stumbled upon this bar (on our way to the space needle) and decided to get a drink...or two. It's busy and popular and the food looks good and reasonably price. The trouble is the chef's palate is not quite right. We had a lovely beet gratin but the clams that followed, although very fresh and juicy, were very peppery and hot! So much so that it was difficult to taste anything afterwards. We then had the prosciutto and potato wheels. Looked very good but had tons of garlic and the sauce (balsamic vinegar) was very acidic. Would we go back? Prob not.

We had dinner here and were a bit disappointed in the consistency of quality across the small bites. The boar ribs and pulled pork tacos were delicious. The flatbread with lamb sausage and baba ganoush was a failure. The lamb and flatbread was overcooked and I could not taste or find the baba ganoush. The roasted peppers with sea salt had too little salt and too much oil. The server was pleasant, but we were disappointed. Finally beware of the 1/2 off wine on Sunday promotion as it applies to only 4 bottles of cheap wine.

Went here for dinner with my wife while visiting Seattle on our honeymoon. We were already pleased with the menu for having healthy and flavoursome alternatives to the burger and French fries trap we so easily fall into when travelling. It is tapas style and there are lots of really interesting dishes. When the waiter found out it was our honeymoon we were treated to sparkling wine and a dessert cake which added such a special touch to our night out. This was the best restaurant experience of our entire honeymoon and we definitely recommend it.

Wandered in while walking back to our hotel. Sat inside, great service, appropriately attentive. The house Sauvignon Blanc was tasty and the food that followed was original and yummy. As a vegetarian, it was terrific to have so many choices. The crunchy fried Spanish olives, the beet gratin and the sinful dessert - each bite a treat. Hoping to make it back there before we leave Seattle.

Great small plates, large craft beer selection and good wines, too. Upbeat vibe with friendly, efficient service.

Sexy, dimly lit, fantastic small plates. Try the blasted broc and the scallops wrapped in bacon with lemon

Four of us visited the Black Bottle, 2 of us returning. The food is tapas-style in the way it is served to your table: small plates of an array of food ranging from the lovely butter chicken curry through the lamb meatballs to the broccoli - yes, broccoli! (Note: the food itself if very different and not Spanish.) The atmosphere added to the general ambience of the place, and our friends - to whom we'd recommended this place - loved it as much as we did!

Until this visit we had never heard of this restaurant and it was a great find. A quick walk from our hotel Edgewater. Very interesting dinner selections that are order to be shared tapas style or family style. All four of the selections we had were excellent and just enough for dinner. We did not have drinks so the price was very inexpensive. We will surely visit again!

Food is mediocre, nothing worth going outta ur way for. Several options for drinks. Location is good .... BUT ...having to wait 3 hrs for food is not acceptable, and certainly not worth the trouble. Staff was apologetic, but basically did nothing to fix it.

Food was mediocre and service was friendly. Flat bread was...flat! No taste! The calamari tasted delicious but the portion was tiny. The bulgogi lettuce cup was average. Came highly recommended by son who lives here!

After some walking around the neighborhood we stopped at the BB for dinner. Got a small table outside on a beaurtiful July evening. My wife had the lamb meatballs (came with flatbread, hummus, cheese, cucumber slices, olives...) and I had skewers of pork and kimchi. Very original and tasty.

I have been to the Black Bottle in Belltown Seattle on numerous occasions. It is a popular venue and it gets backed pretty fast. It has indoor and outdoor seating. It also has a private room for parties & special occasions. The food is good and priced right. My favorite dish on the menu is the Grilled root veggies; super-tasty. The restaurant has a nice, clean, modern look. It is a great choice for a night out.. if you find space (they do take reservations, so you may want to call in advance).

We just love this restaurant ! The food is fabulous - lots of choice & very fresh. The staff are incredibly friendly & helpful ! Service was speedy but not too quick !

Black bottle specializes in shared plates. I'm a big sucker of such tapas style places as I like to try different food items. The place is huge but was packed on a week night. Reservations highly recommended. The place is LOUD - very loud. Menu looks small in size but is extensive and caters to diary free, nut free, gluten free and vegetarian options. Food options aren't traditional but modern take on many pre-existing recipes. Our server - Patrick was wonderful and guided us well. Recommended a range of dishes given our party size. Well appreciated so that we don't order too much. We had the following: 1. Chola batura eggplant potato chickpeas - Loved the flavorful chickpeas but bhatura - small size wheat bread was disappointing 2. Broccoli blasted - Wonderful seasoning but little over burnt 3. Burrata arugula salad figs walnuts - Simply wonderful. Right balance of dressing and sweetness 4. Pear caramelized onions & gorgonzola - Awesome but little on sweeter side. could use some spices/flavors. My friends gave verdict as below: 1. Dry rub house-smoked wild boar ribs - Well seasoned and good 2. Lamb meatballs & sumac humus - Wonderful 3. Seven spice shrimp - Awesome 4. Grilled ahi tuna tacos w cilantro crema - Very dry and disappointing The price range is $11 to 18 ish per plate. So things quickly add up. The drinks were well done. Would visit again.

2 tacos and a beer for around $10! Tasty Carne Asada and Korean tacos. There is outdoor (sidewalk) seating that is popular on nice days.

I stopped by Black Bottle randomly on my way to another restaurant. I didn't look at any reviews before nor did I check their menu on line. I just liked the vibe when I passed by it: they had plenty of customers sitting outside on what was a beautiful evening in Seattle. I sat at the bar. It was busy but not overly crowded. Nice selection of custom cocktails, a few beers, good wine selection. I ordered a few small plates. My favorite was the oxtail (juicy, tender, full of great flavor). The scallops were average. The roasted root vegetables were nice (although I had way too much for just one person - would be nice to share but I didn't have anyone to share with). I loved my dessert (fruit cobbler). One highlight was the bartender who checked regularly on me and made me a special cocktail (something he was experimenting with to put on the menu later that week). It was fun to try it!

Wandered in around 8pm on a Saturday, had great service, food and cocktails. Were seated in the second room, good because less noise but downside no view of bar/nice main room. Food excellent, great to get multiple plates and share amongst the group.

I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Black Bottle!!! Black Bottle has a menu with imagination. The restaurant is great for groups, celebrations, and or a romantic date night. The food and service was unbeatable. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful. The house red wine is very enjoyable. The "Ol Smoky " is amazing. Every tapas that we ordered was delicious - especially the scallops, escargot and blasted broccoli. Dessert - lemon ricotta cheesecake- was excellent. Service was quite good. Highly recommend.

I ordered out after a night at theatre and I was famished. Chose the cauliflower and Chicken Laarb. Got back to my hotel and after one bite of each my mouth was on fire. And, my stomach wasn't thrilled either. I eat spicy food all the time. This was overpowering. And the food was a bright red colour. You wouldn't be able to even identify it. I walked back to the restaurant and politely told them too spicy and they need to say so on the items. I ordered a flatbread - the chicken. Underwhelmed. Still hungry. Cute place for cocktails but they need to pick a style of food and sell it for what it really is. Hungry in Seattle.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here whilst staying in Seattle, the portion sizes were excellent and the quality was great! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Wild Boar ribs!

Sampled five small plates and we were happy for our selections except for the "seared ahi tuna" which was seated but refrigerated afterwards, we were expecting it warm. Presentation was creative, prices a bit high for portion size.

The Black Bottle was recommended by a friend who swears by their "blasted broccoli." As it turned out, the "blasted broccoli" was as good as advertised. The rest of the menu, primarily small plates i.e. tapas offered a very tasty offering of eclectic foods in a hip store front setting in the hip 1st Avenue area of Seattle. A great place to go for tapas light dinner or supper with wine and beer early or late.

The Black Bottle is a really cool place to share a drink. The bar is well stocked, so there's something for everyone. They offer a great selection of wines, including some great sparkling wines by the glass. The atmosphere is casual and inviting. If you sit at the bar near 1st street, you can peek out the window at the Sound. We didn't eat at the Bottle, but definitely would next trip.

Hands-down one of the best casual meals I've had in Seattle. We were able to reserve a table with one 30 mins notice on a Friday night and the service was excellent. The plates are made for sharing, which was perfect for our party of five. The food was superb. We had the oxtail, ribs, and scallop dishes, as well as the prosciutto and bechamel flatbread, and the broccoli side. The oxtail had a delicious sauce and was falling off the bone, broccoli was seasoned well and crispy, and bacon-wrapped scallops melted in our mouths. I didn't take any photos but our food looked just like the ones already posted. We also had three of the five desserts and all were delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be going back.

This place is in a great neighborhood. They have a nice wine selection and great tapas. Nice, hip atmosphere.

I've been here three times, once for food and twice for drinks. They are always really attentive without smothering you, which is nice when you're trying to have a conversation. The food was excellent and the drinks are nice. It's slightly on the pricier side but what do you expecting Seattle?

Not knowing what downtown Seattle would be like on a Wednesday night, we called ahead for a reservation. When our flight was delayed, the staff was very accommodating and changed the time. When we arrived, it was packed. Very loud, but in an energetic, social way. We're light eaters so the tapa-size portions were perfect. Eclectic without being over the top. Nice wine list though we would have preferred more local selections. Excellent service. Several tables around us were there when we arrived and left, so it seems like a good place for a small group to spend a couple of hours together.

The Black Bottle bills itself as a small plate tavern, where sharing is encouraged. The setting is rustic and comfortable, the menu is exciting and varied, and the service is wonderful. Start with a couple of plates to share. The servings are very generous, so you may not need as many as you think you will. Relax, you can always order more!

Had the scallops and curry potatoes and both were outstanding! Have had the clams many times in the past and they are the best!

An Evergreen escape guide recommended the place & we recalled this from her description when we happened to pass by & noticed the delicious looking items the outdoor tables had ordered and looked up at the name. We chose vegetarian dishes and breads along with local drafts. Hearty and abundant food. One could eat inexpensively here or depending on items selected add upwards to the tab,but over all not a costly location.Very popular with the locals and quite busy but staff was efficient in service.

My company hosted a private function in the backroom at the Black Bottle. The food and service for this private function were excellent. The size of the room was perfect. I really wish I had a chance to eat in this cool restaurant - the ambience looked amazing and people had smiles on their faces.

My wife and I were refused service as a result of being age profiled on two occasions. First we were told there were no tables available, come back in 20 minutes.I asked the female who told us to come back in 20 minutes if we should leave our name” no we don’t have a hostess so just come back in 20 minutes” She inferred that she was a waitress. (Info: my wife and I are 65 yrs old ).We came back in 20 minutes, were greeted by the same lady and told there were no tables “come back in twenty minutes”We noted 3 open tables and 3 seats at the bar. I asked if I could order a drink at the bar until a table was ready. She said no you can’t sit at the bar drink, if you sit at the bar then you have to stay there and eat. She said “out of respect to our employees (not customers?) we don’t want to cheat them out of a bigger tip. we came back in 45 minutes and were met by the same female (thought that they do not have a hostess?) We could get a table in 5 minutes, but decided to go elsewhere.I gave Her feedback on the perceived age slight, she said “why sir I am the manager here and I would never do that” Why hadn’t she said she was in charge when she said there was no hostess? The clincher, when I said that she would not let us get a drink at the bar she said “sir my staff comes first and I want to make sure they are taken care of,they get more tips from meals than drinks!” I thought customers come first! I do not recommend this establishment based on poor customer service.

We arrived later in the evening after a long flight. Service was meh. Lighting is very subdued and menus printed in tiny font; I needed my flashlight app to read the menu. Food meh and wine way overpriced for the 4 ounce pour. There are many other choices in Seattle. Overall assessment: Meh.
Great Tapas
I love tapas and this place has a wide range of different types of food so it's perfect to be able to order small plates. If you don't like, not a big deal but you get to experience new flavors. My only problem is the size of the restaurant and the location of the door to the bar (especially in the winter). But otherwise - great ambience and food.
