Delicious and Fresh

By laplume9254 |

Wow...that a great little spot. You order at the counter and your food is delivered to your table. I had a tuna sandwich that was large enough to split. You could tell that the tuna was made fresh that morning. Added plus to my liking...no onions in the tuna salad to overpower the sandwich. I also had the Sweet Potato Hummus and it was a tad bland, but still very good. I would definately go back to the Blue Door when I visit Chicago next. A Great Little Find.

Beautiful Sun Lit Spot Even on a Rainy Day

By michiganmaven |

Lovely spot for lunch even on a rainy day! We loved the whitewashed walls and rough planked floors. The traditional blue dishes were a perfect counterpoint to the simplicity of the design. The restaurant has a very nice vibe. Service was friendly and professional. It has a small town/big city atmosphere. There is a small bar both upstairs and downstairs. The food was good but not great. The hamburger was delicious. The kale and brussel sprout salad was tasty but was piled so high on the plate that it was difficult to eat without spilling onto the table. One guest in our party has celiac. We were surprised that there were not many gluten free options on the menu. All in all, a great lunch spot even on a rainy day!

Must visit

Good service! Great food! Key lime pie and carrot cake had to be to go because dinner was so filling. Thanks Felipe and Mike K!

LImited selection of entrees, poor service and noisy

By Bob S |

We were surprised that there were only about 6 entree selections. Two of the four of us chose "duck" only to find it wasn't available that day. We orderred a bottle of wine and the server had no idea how to serve it. He started filling the first glass he came in contact with and when I said I would like to taste it before he filled all 4 glasses he was lost. He started to fill mine and when I said I just wanted to taste it first, he stopped pouring, spilled some wine which he left and started filling the other glasses before I had a chance to taste it. He didn't see much of him after that. At one point a hostess came by to ask us if we wanted a dessert menu and we asked if we could finish our entrees first? I don't live in the city but to me the food was overpriced and nothing special. There was a large party going on next to us which a lot of small children so most of our meal was trying to shout over the table noise in the dining room.

Great Lunch

By Alamills |

Blue Door was great in all respects. In this part of town not many places are open on a weekday at 2:00 in the afternoon. My wife and I went there for lunch and really liked it. The seating, the atmosphere, is comfortable and very pleasant. The waitperson was friendly, attentive and spot-on. Both the Lentil Soup and the Tomato Soup (cups) were tasty and perfect temperature. I had the Turkey and Cheddar Sandwich and my wife had the French Tuna. We both were very happy with our selection. Just one observation, you have to tug pretty hard on the front door to open it. But it’s a place you should try out if you’re in the neighborhood.

Very good

By Anne G |

We were at another address. Very nice ambiance. Very friendly staff. Food was delicious: salmon with kinoa was the best. Steak frites was very tasty but they could improve the steak itself. The Pho was not very good. We wanted to share a dessert: you should have seen the size of our carrot cake: gigantic. We have enough leftovers for a few days ... Overoall a good experience

Farm fresh!

By Lisa S |

Very good. We each ordered something different. I had the egg wrap. My husband got the sunny side up BLT. My daughter got the pitchfork sunny side up breakfast. I would say the BLT was the best! Followed by the pitchfork breakfast....... Mine was good but a bit bland. I saw some salads...would have ordered that if I realized I could gave had a soft egg over a salad for breakfast. This is a semi fast food style of service....but the food is farm fresh. Really good. Staff and service is very friendly. Excellent bold coffee....I'm a coffee snob and this was so good that I got an extra cup to go! Yum !

Interesting Place

By mlowder500 |

The Blue Door Farm Stand was recommend to us while we were shopping in the area. I is an interesting concept, but we liked it. You order your food at the counter, then find a seat, and they bring it to you. The sign you order from is a little hard to read, but the food was delicious! I'd certainly recommend it!!

Cute place

By 00LiaB |

We went for lunch. Very cute inside. Very good service. Food was average. The artichoke dip had bagel chips on the side. Nothing inventive. Salad was very fresh and tasty except the chicken tasted like it had been previously frozen and lacked any flavor. I like it most for its decor.

Don't confuse this place with Blue Door on Elm

By Bruce W |

Disappointing all around. In order: The mixed drinks were mostly ice and the second one came in a cup 2/3 the size as the first. The Ribeye seemed like it came right out of the Sous Vide without any charring of the outside. It was room temperature with a pad of butter on top that never melted. Service was slow. I could go on but with so many better choices in Chicago, why bother.

Quiet and pretty and delicious

By Nancy E |

Four of us went for an early dinner (5:30) last night which may be why it was quiet though the tables are well spaced for conversation. The restaurant has an open clean feel. The portions were large and the appetizers were delicious and well worth sharing. We split crab cakes, spring veggie tarts, roasted carrots. Our mains were also very good. The double lamb chops was a large serving. So was the steak. Two of us each had the salmon, one with the apple and quinoa salad and one with fingerling potatoes. The disappointments were that the dessert special, a gelatinous almond cake, was so bad we each had only one bite and the coffee, even after being sent back because it was lukewarm, returned lukewarm. Service was pretty good but, with each course, we had to request silverware. However, what we liked was so good that we will definitely return.

So Glad We Went!

Recommended by a friend who lives around the corner. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and ate off the Brunch menu. First, LOVE the feel of this place. Ambiance- great... dishes, tables, floors, ceilings... all give a small town homey old fashioned vibe. Love it! We had the Cobb Salad and Cheese Curds. Salad, huge, fresh, yummy. My first time with cheeses curds so can't compare to others , but very tasty. Would love to go back and try on a weekday for lunch. Prices, reasonable. Try it!!!

Local dinner

This super friendly restaurant has a nice atmosphere and excellent staff. I had the lamb which was very tasty. The food is very clean. i.e. farm fresh as advertised

Loved it!

By Janice R |

Their website states they want to provide a warm and welcoming space for their guests and that is exactly what we found on a recent Sunday morning visit. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with "Good Morning," "Welcome," and big smiles from the young people behind the counter. You order your food at the counter and take a seat. The food is brought to you. We had delicious wrap breakfast sandwiches with a cappacino and a latte. Delicious! Cost was very reasonable ... $6.00 for the large sandwich. There are a variety of luncheon and dinner offerings and apparently wine and beer will be offered sometime in the near future. The space is open -- high ceilings and windows -- rustic wooden tables that are not crammed against each other, so you can kick back and enjoy your food. The morning we were there had fresh tulips in mason jars on every table ... nice touch. The owners apparently have partnerships with locally owned farms and farmers markets, so the food is always fresh and changes with the seasons. You can purchase handcrafted foods and artisanal products, too. We will definitely be back.

Great Service and Food

By BB343434 |

The staff from the wait staff to the management who circulated around. Had lunch a very good lunch. We ordered the Armitage (1/2 sandwich and salad/soup). The salads have homemade dressing.

Outstanding food.

By smythbit |

We recently tried the Blue Door on a last minute decision and don't regret it! Great food and atmosphere. Lots of local ingredients which I loved. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Great quality and delicious food, awesome ambience

By Jaime H |

This is a farm-to-table counter service restaurant. We had the lentil soup, and sweet potato hummus, which might be the best hummus I have ever had. They have such a great variety of healthy food as well as vegetarian/vegan, and the decor makes you feel like you are in an old farmhouse. They also have fresh juices made daily locally. There are wooden tables that make you want to sit there all day. Love this place!

Farm to Table Fantastic!

By LittleSis54 |

Went into the city for brunch, my adult daughter recommended we try this restaurant based on one of the bloggers she follows. We made reservations, parked for free a few blocks away, and were seated upstairs promptly. Drinks were tasty and well made. Everything from veggie burgers to an egg white omelet to eggs/hash browns were delicious. There's a big map showing you where your food came from. Younger crowd, family friendly and bustling. Not inexpensive but a nice splurge, I'd go back without hesitation. For four of us with one drink each and a nice tip, it was about $125.00.

Busy place

By Diane K |

We were here for a Sunday brunch. There were many groups having parties so it was very noisy and lots of people standing by the door where we were seated. Not a relaxing brunch.

A popular neighborhood spot for brunch

By Arxitexter |

Visiting Chicago we decided to explore the Lincoln Park area and try Blue Door for brunch so we made a reservation. The atmosphere is welcoming and quaint with rustic decorations and filled with light. The staff is very attentive and friendly - promptly ensuring the flow of hot fresh brewed coffee and drinks. The quality of the food is very good though not memorable. The menu offers known standards (Brussel sprouts and kale salad, eggs, pancakes, etc.). The hash browns are proper hash browns: crispy shredded potatoes, fluffy inside - not greasy. Pancakes are served with a light whipped butter - a few whisks beyond whipped cream, and real maple syrup. Recommend the wild raspberry mimosa !

A quaint, tasty lunch spot

By mattyboy549 |

Our group really enjoyed this restaurant. It has an upscale casual cafe vibe and serves farm fresh foods. The salads and sandwiches were all thoughtfully made and quite good. We had the Cobb Salad, Sesame Chicken salad, Ham and Brie grilled cheese, Turkey and Cheddar sandwich, and Goat Cheese & Fig Jam Crostini.

Overpriced boring salad

By TravelSueLR |

I'm not sure if there was enough dressing to make this pile of kale edible. It was the butternut squash salad with pomegranate seeds, feta, and two green apple slivers. My creamy tomato soup was good. I don't think this lunch was worth $20 even if the restaurant decor is super cute.

Lunch to keep you fueled

By JerseyFamily07 |

This restaurant was recommended by a local business when we asked where we could get a good salad. The atmosphere is warm, sunny and happy. The open kitchen concept is good. The food was outstanding. The kale and brussels sprout salad with maple tahini and almonds was fantastic. I would have preferred dried cranberries over the bacon to offset the savory flavors, but that was my only complaint. The veggie burger with mango chutney was okay -- I didn't love the strong curry flavor and the fries were overcooked. Our waiter was less than caring and walked away from us mid-sentence when we were asking a question. Interesting place -- so come curious and open minded.

Went to Blue Door Farm Stand for dinner while visiting our daughter at DePaul. Absolutely love the decor and concept, but the execution is lacking. Service was slow and food was disappointing. We ordered the chicken sliders as an appetizer and they were okay but somewhat dry. For entrees, our group has the burger, the pasta primavera, the Amish chicken breast and the salmon. The pasta primavera didn't have half of the vegetables listed on the menu and was very salty. The chicken was ridiculously salty. My husband only ate 1/2 of his burger because it wasn't all that great. Our friend did eat all of her salmon, so it must have been decent. There is a very limited menu selection, so it's hard to understand why almost everything was so lackluster. We went there because I'd heard some people rave about the place, but they had gone for breakfast so maybe their breakfast is strong, but I wouldn't waste the money for dinner there.

So perfect for vegetarians

By ChicksAndSalsa |

Happened upon this place and we are so Glad that we did. Their ingredients are so fresh and the venue so beautiful and although you can’t see the bar when you walk in they have one! They have a creative menu and awesome vibe- we will definitely be back!

Great Little Spot

By Suzannah R |

I came here with my mom when she visited me in Chicago and we almost walked right past it! They don't have a big sign or anything but the restaurant was a lot bigger than expected when we got in there. Our food was good and it was quick because you order at a counter. The vibe in there is very fresh and rustic. Would recommend for lunch/brunch but it's not cheap! Haven't actually eaten brunch there but I hear its good.

Perfect farm lunch experience

By TVAmsterdam |

Had a quick lunch at this artsesan place. Good sandwiches, soups and juices. Nice bread and flavourful and original combinations. The staff is friendly and efficient and we enjoyed the additional product information about the farms in the area. Only one small remark about the kitchen exhaust. Maybe it was switched off, but our clothes smelled very very strong after we left.

Great atmosphere....even better food!

By sheric827 |

I took my daughter & boyfriend here for brunch & it was amazing! The decor is warm & friendly. I had the eggs Benedict & it did not disappoint, the homemade biscuit to the sauce & perfectly poached eggs. My daughter had the Cobb salad &'it was huge & delish! Will definitely go back.

Great lunch

Went to the new Blue Door on Halstad. Very impressed - cheese plate was very good, the fig and arugula sandwich was amazing. My salad was very good - unlike other reviewers, our portions were HUGE. And the setting is very cool. Liked it a lot.

Brunch on a rainy day

By Melissa Brown |

Forkplay. I squirmed in anticipation, while blindfolded by secrecy dressed as a surprise. Was I being strung along? Round one cleared up any doubts — the appetizer didn’t take very long to arrive, either. The balls of cheese looked taut and freshly warm — adorned with creamy buttermilk and pickled peppers. I took a moment to admire the sophisticated take on a commonplace snack. Within moments of the first bite, I was thrust into euphoria. The playful contrast of spicy vinegar peppers on the dense fried cheese made for an explosion in my mouth... Read the entire review on my blog, Fork Me Good.

Walk at Oz Park then go eat here

By James M |

Went there fir a nice business dinner, got a table by the open windows, very nice open and airy. They have a nice menu, we opted for the burgers, great choice . Of course I had to try their Brussels sprouts, excellent also. I was going to order the chicken but a half chicken would be too much for me, maybe split with your date. I will go back. A short walk from Iz Park. Enjoy.

Cute place; mixed experience

By dwg51357 |

We had Sunday morning brunch here and, to be honest, the experience was mixed. Décor is cute – a quaint farmish motif. And the vibe was fairly relaxed, despite being one of those “open space” restaurants. Service was a bit spotty and we didn’t have the warmest of servers. The mimosas and bloody marys were pretty basic – but the “up a notch” sangria with red wine, bourbon, sherry and lemon tonic was excellent. Food was equally mixed. Some dishes were very good. My corned beef hash, on the other hand, amounted to slices of not-so-tender corned beef tossed with shredded has browns and topped with fried eggs (though the tomato and pepper sauce was excellent). With so many other great brunch places in Chicago, we’re crossing this one off our list.

Beautiful ambiance; nice, simple casual pre-theater dinner

By pyegirl |

We loved the ambiance of this place. Cute, uncluttered, and un-noisy dining space. This is a farm to table place, with a a simple menu. Vegetable sides and salads were delicious. Hamburger was great. Veg burger....I'd skip. That was the one disappointment. Service was great. We went for dinner pre-theater and were glad they were open early. Cute neighborhood. If you don't like any of the desserts on tap, there is a Jeni's right around the corner. Overall, a very pleasant place for a simple dinner.

Didn't Really Care for It.

By KrisK_8 |

Had breakfast here and didn't really enjoy it. We both ordered the "Diner Classic" which is eggs, potato, meat, and pancake or toast. The place was not remotely busy which makes it hard to understand why I can't point to any one of the items being particularly good. I had eggs scrambled and they came in a big lump that you could actually pick up the whole pile sticking your fork in the middle. My wife ordered them over-easy and they came out on the scorched side. Potatoes were fine. Pancake was just bad. There is no way it was cooked to order. It wasn't even warm enough to melt whipped butter and had what I can only describe as a stale texture. We had patty sausage and it was like they took unseasoned ground pork, rolled it into a ball and them smashed any residual flavor out of it on the griddle. Why didn't we tell our server about it? Because she asked us how everything was moments after our plates were put in front of us and we replied "we haven't had the chance to taste it yet" and then she never came back until it was time to give us the check. There didn't seem to be any management around so we just sucked it up. The ambiance is kind of weird. We were upstairs and it was super quiet, to the point where people were starting to whisper so as not to be heard by other tables. Then you have a bartender juicing citrus with one of those table-top juice presses that makes a really loud thumping noise as it completes the cycle. Then, there was a really loud banging noise every few minutes that turned out to be the front door. A little music would have been nice. Overall, I don't think I'd go back.

Country Fresh in the City

By RL1952 |

Our second visit in two months to this fine little restaurant two blocks from the Brown Line Armitage stop. A nice collection of pastries, brunch items and freshly prepared sandwiches. The food is excellent. The coffee is good. Our first visit, in November, 2014, was a group of 8 adults for lunch and everyone was pleased. The sandwiches and soups were quite good. Today a group of 6 and brunch was equally good. Prices reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff. We will be back when we return to Chicago.

Cocktail names are fun, but otherwise - average

By MACKBA |

The food wasn't worth a drive from downtown and struggle with finding a parking spot. Cocktail "Tiki..." tasted like a cough mixture.

Pretty decor- ho hum menu

By ellen b. |

I wasn't impressed by the lunch selections here- looked at breakfast menu & it was a lot more interesting. The decor is lovely but we did have to dine upstairs, was very busy on a weekday lunch. Lots of sandwich choices. I had the chilaquiles and was very disappointed in them- very mushy , too spicy and just wasn't that good.

Small portions

By Anne N |

Good tasting but small portions. Two of us had to get three entrees. My husband got his 10 minutes before I got mine. I don't think I would go back. It was pretty booked so we had to sit at the bar as we did not have reservations.

Farm fresh. City living.

By Brent W |

The food here was great. They tell you what's local farm fresh and what isn't, which is different from other like restaurants I've tried. The grilled cheese is really good, and you have to order the kale chips. Trust me... The kale chips are amazing.

Amazing!

By bikingmom |

My daughter found this restaurant on TA and I am so glad she did. We had a lovely lunch that was not at all typical. It is a busy place at lunch time, but I see why. Tasty food served up on wooden boards, desserts to die for and staff that are nice and attentive. If you are in the Lincoln park area this place is not to be missed. Good shopping right outside their door is also a bonus:)

Garden lunch

By Bubblechoc |

Beautiful restaurant with a garden area. Great Wine list and French appetizers. Fantastic for tea time or brunch. Very romantic place and they even light it up in the evening. Excellent service!

Fresh and Delicious!

By TERCEFALEX |

Blue Door Review. Our first time at Blue Door Farm Stand, and everything our group of three tried was very fresh and delicious. The tomato soup, while it had some cream, was still light and also well seasoned. The salads are huge portions, the dressings are house made and the chicken added was large cubed white meat. We also tried the Ava sandwich, which was an unusual, but really delicious combination of spinach, kale pesto, green tomato relish and 3 different types of cheeses. I'd come back just for that sandwich. Our waiter, David, was friendly and attentive, the overall ambiance was open and airy. Definitely will return.

Great food, nice atmosphere

By BFRN17 |

We went for lunch on a cold gray day. I had tomato soup and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was on sourdough and had sharp cheddar and Swiss, it was so good. My husband had traditional breakfast. It came with amazing raspberry jam. It was mostly a 30-something crowd. Very nice atmosphere. Good service, reasonable prices. Our lunch was about $30. Street parking could be a challenge.

Lunch while shopping

By EJJourney |

Great local place with unusual offerings, fresh organic local produce, good bread. I had the chicken salad sandwich, my daughter had the kale and goat cheese grilled sandwich. They both came w delicious homemade potato salad w generoussized chunks of real potatoes. Service was friendly, prompt, and order was correct. No place to sit and eat inside, which was disappointing, but we walked across the street and ate on the park like grounds of Lincoln Park High School. There are several benches and concrete half walls yo sit on there.

Wedding at Blue Door Farm Stand

By pmilh0use |

We attended a wedding and reception at the Blue Door Farm Stand. It was a great wedding venue and the food was amazing. The servers were very attentive. The food was delicious, the right temperature and beautifully presented on their lovely dishes.

Yummy Fresh Food

Super cute inside with updated farm decor. Bright and clean looking. Staff was attentive and the menu was interesting. Food was fresh and delish! An all around great food experience! I will return!!!

Great food.

Stopped in for lunch. Sat at the bar. Great offerings. I had the "dinner special" Breakfast at 2 in the afternoon. So fun. Seems like a fun local place. My friend had the house special salad. Very enjoyable.

Farm to table fare

By ScottEP |

Excellent dinner in June. The salmon, beet & farro salad, crab cakes and hummus were all delicious. Pretty setting with friendly service. Wanted to try the veggie burger, but they were out (only negative). Spectacular desserts! Try the carrot cake (enough for 5 people!!) or chocolate brownie s'more.

Great place for fresh lunch! and more

By Gayle M |

Egg dishes, sandwiches, salads and standard breakfast items for lunch in this bright cheerful location. Attentive service, Espresso, wines... what more will meet your lunch needs? Open for breakfast and dinner...

Good service level

By 1sara2016 |

we enjoyed in excellent taste, decoration is very good, the service at a good level, prices are ok too.

Fantastic service for our quiet intimate diner.

By alexa f |

A lovely place to celebrate a special occasion or treat yourself to a nice date night. Every staff member we had contact with was beyond kind. They were a pleasure to speak with. The food was delicious I found that even the sides that accompanied the entrees were prepared with care and held such wonderful flavor. One never expects much from a carrot but they delivered a truly divine carrot dish along with my salmon that both hi-lighted the freshness and the inherent flavors of the vegetable while elevating it beyond. They made a special night even more so.

Memorial Day weekend Brunch

By MJE2013_13 |

8 of us had a lovely Sunday brunch in the upstairs dining room. The restaurant decor is awesome. Nice bright windows, and lots of plants and flowers. The coffee was delicious and our server was very attentive at refills . If you like spicy Bloody Marys, they serve excellent bloodies here! The portions are huge, definitely shareable. The blueberry pancakes, corned beef hash and omelets were all great. Best of all are the biscuits ! Worth any upcharge. Highly recommend!

Wonderful spot for Saturday brunch!

By jimispod |

Charming Saturday brunch spot with great service, interesting menu selections & excellent food. The black pepper biscuits are a must!

Great Breakfast on a Sunday Morning

By MargeV864 |

Walked in to Blue Door on a whim while visiting Chicago. The wait was 1 hour but the hostess said we could be served at the bar so we sat there. The food was outstanding. I had the corn and bacon Benedict which was delicious. My granddaughter had the pancakes which were fluffy and great. My daughter had the chilaquiles which she liked very much. The service by Stephen was the best and the drink called a cherry picker was exceptional. All around good service, good food and a great time. Highly recommend.

What a great eclectic place

By Beenaroundtheworld2 |

We were wandering around armitage when we found this- adorable place- food was excellent- healthier choices- love that it's served on a cutting board with a seasoned kale chip on the side. Cute decor too

Adorable space that is perfect for brunch!

By JimJanJettin' |

As part of their pandemic precautions, the staff took our temperature before seating us and directed us towards the QR code for a digital menu. The servers all wore masks and gloves. Since it was raining the day we went, they had the windows closed but the tables were well spaced out. We ordered the corned beef hash and the Farmstand burger. Both were pretty good and tasted very fresh.

Hidden Gem

By Jeff M |

This place may be familiar to those in Lincoln Park, but it is definitely a stop worth making wherever you are coming from. Whether you live in the city or are just visiting, be sure to add this to your plans. We came for a weekday breakfast, but they are open for lunch and dinner as well. Awesome exterior and interior finished. The farm house / industrial blend makes for the perfect fit for the farm to table offerings. Breakfast was outstanding and the service just as good. Will definitely return and tell others as well.

It was tasty! 👍

By Dude Man |

It was tasty! I got the farm burger which I liked. The fries were good! My friend got the grilled cheese and tomato soup which enjoyed. They got the sweet potato fries which came with an amazing honey mustard sauce. I read about the kale and Brussel salad in an article online saying this was one of the best salads in Chicago; so I had to try it! It was really good!!! Cute atmosphere inside. Only did take out; but I saw they were taking temperatures for whoever dined in so before careful Covid havers!

What a lovely evening!

By CzechMate2010 |

The ambience is casual and airy with barn elements. We sat at the counter and had exceptional service. We loved menu as it was inventive and whimsical. Don't miss the delightful kale and Brussels sprouts salad! Enough to share for two with bright bites of freshest of fresh ingredients. We had the lamb trine and the bone in pork chop and both were savory with bright elements and oh so comforting on a dark, dreary, rainy day. Tommy our server was so fun and personable and we enjoyed spending time with him during our wonderful experience!

Wonderful Brunch at this Charming Restaurant

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

Charming neighborhood restaurant in Lincoln Park offering a farm to table menu. We had a wonderful Saturday brunch here. The raspberry flavored mimosa and the chilaquiles that I ordered were delicious and our server Vesna was terrific. It is understandably very popular and busy. Make sure to make a reservation in advance.

Lovely Daytime Spot

By Melody K |

It's a light, airy space that even has a beautiful upstairs. I enjoyed a fabulous veggie burger that came with a generous and sophisticated green salad (no iceberg lettuce) and my friend enjoyed an omelette. They seemed a bit understaffed so service was a bit slow, but the wait staff was nice and eager to do things right or fix them quickly.

Great Food. Pretty spot

By Stephen K |

My wife and I had 2 starters and 2 small plates not small at all. Cauliflower confit was wonderful. Veggie tartlet with goat cheese—was a full size tart. Fried chicken sliders and a Brussel sprout kale salad. Took 2 leftovers home — neither survived the night.

Quiet place with delicious food

By jtklem |

Visiting our son that lives in Chicago. He picked this restaurant as he’d never been but heard good things. We shared the kale salad, chicken and a pasta dish. Everything was outstanding! The restaurant wasn’t busy - don’t miss giving this place a try...you won’t be sorry!!

Great find in Lincoln Park!

By Jeff O |

We ordered the Chilaquiles and Brussels & Kale Salad for lunch/brunch. Both entrees were great. Highly recommend Blue Door.

Fresh Food for Brunch but Pricey

By Theresa M |

The food here for brunch was very fresh, but the menu was small and not very inventive. The average person could probably buy their own fresh ingredients for much cheaper and make any of the menu items at home. I liked the décor, and how the front of the restaurant could be opened up on a nice day, but it seemed that they focused more on being instagrammable than adding any pizzaz to their menu, at least for brunch. If you are looking for breakfast food, I would probably try a different place unless you want to spend a bunch of money on an unspectacular meal.

Very friendly and thoughtful service

By WestCherokee |

Food choices a bit limited. All four of us really enjoyed our dinners. Atmosphere is very relaxed. All ingredients were very fresh.

Tasty food

By Jennifer N |

They have delicious sandwiches and soups. Wonderful staff. Fast service. The decor is beautiful. The neighborhood can be a bit rough. Some smash and grabs, so watch your belongings.

Great lunch spot! Kale salad was fantastic!

By Joanna K |

We really enjoyed this new cafe... We tried several items from the lunch menu and everything was fresh and tasty. Most items come with roasted kale chips, which are a nice surprise ( little tired of chips most places severe with lunch items). Kale salad was our favorite... Everything was very affordable. Will be back!

Good fresh food, beware if allergies

By MeljChicago |

So my sole issue with Blue Door Farm Stand is that it's difficult to come here when you have allergies. On multiple occasions I've asked to confirm that something does not have peppers (that I'm allergic to) and I have received a soup that was cooked with peppers or a salad that showed the ingredients on the menu but somehow left out peppers. Otherwise, I love the concept, the cozy atmosphere, and in general the type of food you can get here. Great place to stop if you're shopping around Armitage (I know they are opening a new location). Have taken numerous visitors to Chicago here as well for a quick lunch.

Great Food

By Bill T |

Stopped for lunch - 3 adults along with a toddler and an infant. The staff were very accommodating with our seating needs and the venue is lovely. We started with roasted carrot hummus followed by a farm stand burger, farm house club, and a farm stand Cobb shared among us all. They were very large portions and we had a good amount to bring home to enjoy later! The only thing that seemed a bit off were their wine prices - they seemed rather steep even for Chicago. Otherwise a great lunch and we really recommend this spot.

Summer Farm Vibes

By Clay G |

Blue Door Farm Stand is a cute rustic Midwestern restaurant right off Halsted and Armitage. They have a very farm to table vibe that makes it perfect for a spring to summer meal. I ordered the brown line wrap and was very pleased with the way everything worked together and the peppers added life to it. A bit of veggies always is good for you.
