We finally tried this place and loved the food. We have several Indian spots we hit and all have a different food type. This one is upscale like Tabla but still serves different types of food. We’ll be adding this to our Indian rotation!

When in town on business, I always try to make it. The wait staff is excellent with great recommendations and the food is delightfull!

We wanted to eat somewhere in-town to let evening rush-hour die down. We made a reservation here for 6:30 p.m. Blue India is located on 8th Street, almost across Peachtree Street from the Vortex, but just a bit down the block. The website is not that obvious about it, but there is a reference to a parking garage and that they'll validated it for you. The garage is located just beyond the restaurant on 8th Street; coming off Peachtree, you make a left turn into an alley that affords entry to the garage. We were seated promptly. The decor is nice, with very high ceilings and large windows on the street-facing side. They had a good variety of dishes from which to choose. Our party of 3 ordered 4 dishes to share, with the intent of taking home plenty of leftovers. The samosas were good, but each order is only two of them. Garlic naan was also quite good. The other dishes were a mix of curries and a tandoori chicken. We all liked the food. Service was good; they seem to have a team-based approach - multiple servers show up with various components of the meal, though there appeared to be one who was primarily responsible for the table. Prices were a bit high, in line with the more 'fine dining' vibe they are going for. They did validate parking, but we still ended up having to pay $5 to exit the garage. So...they validate *most* of your parking?

I tried the chilli paneer, malai kofta, chicken tikka masala and the rasmalai. Food was average at best. Service was non-existent. I had to remind the server to bring the desert 3 times. Had to flag him down to fill water. And the prices were expensive! There are a lot of other nicer Indian restaurants in the vicinity. Blue India needs to up its game on good flavor and service.

We looked for Indian food back in July 2021 while visiting Atlanta. We happen to have chosen Blue India and it was so good that I'm still talking about it. We may visit Atlanta just to visit this restaurant again.

Very nice food at this new restaurant. They are waiting for a liquor licence still. We went on a Sunday evening and unfortunately were the only ones there. However the service was very good. Chutneys and Pampadams were put on the table gratis just like in the UK. We had a vindaloo curry and tikka masala and some Tandoori salmon, another of our party is vegan and also enjoyed his dish. If you like good Indian food go there, you won’t be disappointed. The only downer was that parking in the condo building is too expensive, even though you get the first hour free. Atmosphere a little dark but comfortable.

Was in Atlanta with a friend for brief stay and choose this place largely based on proximity to our downtown hotel and ease of access via MARTA train. I generally try to get at least one Indian dinner anytime I travel, and this was among the very best I’ve had anywhere in the country. We choose two classic entrees, the Malia Kofta and the Saffron Butter Chicken. Both were way-delicious. The naan was tender-crispy-perfect. Our waiter, Cian, made the whole experience even better, helping us make good spice level choices, and just generally being remarkably nice. Overall ambiance was relaxing. Nice but not stuffy.

I made an order from Blue India through a delivery service. I have verified that my order was filled by Blue India and I have the delivery receipt from the bag. The "server" listed was Meha P. I ordered 1 order of Bullet Naan ($6), 1 Chicken Tikka Masala ($18), and 1 Chicken Vindaloo ($18). The delivery receipt lists them as being "lunch;" I had no idea these were lunch portions. I thought the price for the entrees were a bit high for the amount of food received. All three dishes were heavy on spicing. The Naan had A LOT of garlic on it, enough to breathe fire after eating. The Tikka Masala and the Vindaloo were over-spiced as well. The Tikka Masala had a spice that was overpowering which wrecked the flavor. The Vindaloo was way too hot spicy. It was difficult to eat. All told the subtotal for the food was $42, sales tax was $4, delivery fee was $2.99 and and then add a decent tip for the guy running his butt off to deliver it, and you have a fairly expensive meal that really wasn't great.

Atlanta is a growing foodie community where there are an overwhelming number of new openings every year. This place is mediocre all around. The food is average (buffet taste at Tabla price point). The service is average. The nice atmosphere is ruined by the fact that nothing is upkept properly. You can tell the ownership and management doesn't know what they are doing.

Amazing food. Great variety too. The service was prompt & friendly. The portions are large & can be shared. Very authentic Indian food.

I recently had the Lamb Vindaloo at Blue India. It was massively over-spiced. I certainly don't mind spicy food, in fact I love it and have ordered the Vindaloo at many Indian restaurants. My dish was so heavily spiced (not hot-spicy, over-spiced with some spice) that I could not even taste the lamb. I was with my family of three. The others' dishes were OK, but none great. Service was very good, but we are unlikely to be back.

Ambience is really good. Nice and clean. Food is average in quality. Our waiter was slow. Overall seemed like a nice place to take a friend for dinner

I love Indian food and this restaurant was a disappointment. We ordered many items and non of the items were good except for the parathas and naans. I will not go back.

I visited this restaurant and placed a to-go order at the bar. Since we're both vegetarians, we ordered Paneer Tikka Masala. I waited on the food, which was sealed (saran wrapped) to prevent spills, but labelled correctly (both on the receipt and on the packaging). When I arrived home, it turned out that I received two orders of Chicken Tikka Masala, which I could not eat. I was disappointed, but it happens. When I called the restaurant, they refused to issue a refund because "it is impossible" (it's not, I know their POS system) and later claimed that "the owner doesn't allow it." They told me that I had to dispute the charge with my credit card to get a refund. This was a pain, but I did as instructed. The owner then disputed my charge claiming that I ate my entire meal in the restaurant (not true), expressed that I was happy with the food (not true), and that I even left a tip for good service (which I did before I knew they packed the wrong meal). This seemed like a blanket response they send to any dispute. The entire situation came across as a scam - refusing to correct their own mistakes and even keeping the $20 tip. Despite going to this restaurant fairly frequently, I've decided to no longer support ownership that would refuse to be accountable for their mistakes and effectively steal money from consumers.

Horrible food and even worse customer service. The curry was left for us with nans coming out by the time the curry was cold. We complained about the food but it fell on deaf ears. Will not go to this place again!

on the first day, a couple of blocks from the hotel, I was searching for something simple: that place attracted my attention as being away from main streets: service is fine, food is great, all looks fine. on that cold evening, the seating was near by the main entrance and every time the door opened, we could feel the cold breeze from outside. that is the point to improve in relation to the seating

We decided to try this restaurant again and were pleasantly surprised! We got an order of Samosas, naan, and an order of Saag Paneer. The samosas were light, crispy, and crunchy. So delicious! And the sauces with it were great. The saag paneer was excellent with very fresh paneer. The naan was great too. We will definitely go back!

Found this restaurant originally on Yelp and it had good reviews. The interior is very clean and feels extremely spacious with the massively high ceilings (maybe 30+ ft?) We were greeted and seated right away. One thing i thoroughly enjoyed was that there was a glass wall between you and the kitchen, so you could literally watch all aspects of cooking the food from start to finish. I did the lunch combo for $14 dollars and did not realize how much food I was about to receive. Huge value for the money. Food was delicious and came out quickly.

I went here with a friend on a Monday evening and was very impressed. Parking is available in the parking garage of the building and can be a bit confusing. But, they do validate, even though it only covers part of the parking. It ended up costing $5 when we left. Once we made it in, we were seated immediately. The whole open area of the restaurant was open, but they said they had a party coming in, which did occur. The ambiance is very hip and inviting. Our server promptly came to our table and took our drink and appetizer orders. We had the house pinot noir and chardonnay, which we both liked. For appetizers, we had the crispy Bhindi Chaat, which are strings of deep fried okra. They were so good. We also had the chips with various sauces that they brought out, which were good, as well. For my entrée, I had the Tandoori Chicken, which was excellent. The chicken was so tasty and made in a clay oven. My friend had the Seekh Kebab, which is lamb. It was excellent, as well. We had no room for dessert, unfortunately. The service was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys Indian food, spicy or not.

India Blue offers high quality food at affordable prices perfect for small & large groups. Sauces & curries are knock your-socks off good: fresh & light.

Nice folks, quiet place, nice bar, window to watch them prepare the food, excellent food all around, just try it. They are just off Peachtree and I think don't get as much notice as they would, but it's easy to find on 8th. This was our second visit. They deserve to be a success.

I love Indian food even when its mediocre. But this is first rate and worthy of any gourmet eater. The papadam was particularly yummy and the raita was very interesting - looked like it might have had some avocado with in it. I had the seasoned lamb which was excellent, and the salmon bites were delicious as was the salmon entree. Our drinks were fun and my mango lassa with alcohol went down easy. We aw a few celebrities while we were there,. All in all, a very good stop and highly reccommended.

One of the best India food I ever ate.Very authentic. THE WAITER HERISH was very knoweleable and helpful. The menu has a big variety and my niece loved the vegetarian dishes. This is now my favorite indian restaurant when I come to Atlanta. We reserved a table at 6 pm. BY 7 pm it was packed. They also validate parking for 2 hours if you park at Metropolis Garage (same building). A lot of people ordered take out.

We placed an order for takeout that I and my husband picked up. We ordered samosas, cheddar naan, Karahi curry with chicken, Vindaloo with paneer, and Biryani with vegetables. The samosas were a little soggy when we got them home but otherwise good. The cheddar naan was very good and was the star of the night. The Vindaloo was so hot it was inedible. We didn’t finish it. The curry was also heavily spiced and it was unpleasant to eat. The biryani had many hard pieces of spices, including many whole peppercorns. This may be the way it is supposed to be made, but we both commented that it was like eating a brush pile. Very unpleasant. We were both surprised that the restaurant would spice these dishes so heavily when we didn’t order them that way. We have gotten good food here, but we have also gotten over-spiced food too. I think if you were eating these dishes in their very dark restaurant that you would be spitting out a lot of spices and sending back dishes. Not going back for awhile.

Very welcoming on a busy Saturday. Coming in very late for a lunch, we were forewarned the kitchen wouldn't be open much longer. You would never have noticed. The cooks and staff made us feel right at home with top notch service and fine cuisine. Some of our group couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Indian food. It's always a treat to watch a good kitchen and tandoor ovens in action. Highly recommend!

This new restaurant is awesome! Not only is the food amazing, but the ambiance and service is excellent too. I loved that not only is it pretty inside, but the food is off the charts! Their tandoori chicken was sooo tender and juicy. It’s in the heart of midtown on 8th & Peachtree with parking beside it. They validate parking. Looking forward to my next excuse to go back.

Visited after two days of GT orientation. Weren’t really sure what to expect given some mixed reviews and even considered switching to somewhere different. Wow are we glad we went though. The restaurant was tastefully decorated. Service was great. The food was great. We ordered samosas and masala fries as appetizers. Samosas were much spicier than we expected so know that before you order. The masala fries are great and the curry dipping sauce that accompanied them was terrific. Our only complaint was that both portions were a bit small. For dinner, we had chicken tikka masala and paneer korma. Both were excellent Our favorite was the tikka masala for sure. The flavor has the right complexity. Neither were too spicy so if you want extra kick you’ll want to ask for that. Portion size for dinner was perfect. We also ordered the cheddar naan which was tasted a bit like an Indian quesadilla. You can’t go wrong combining cheese and bread though. We also had regular naan. The bread was absolutely perfect. This place is worth a visit!

Food was good. Nothing extraordinary to note. They could do a better job of venting the tandoori oven…my clothes and hair smelled for hours after.

We live in South Georgia and have no Indian restaurants nearby, so we loved coming to Blue India. It reminded us of our trip to Britain last year, were we had wonderful Indian food. Service was great and atmosphere good.

Came here for a date night. We'd already been to Tabla a few blocks away before, so we decided to try this place since we both like Indian. Our food was priced well for the portion sizes. Our drinks could've been stronger. We had the mojito. The appetizers are solid. We had the samosas & masala fries, which were good, but you only get two samosas in an order. There was good heat to the curry dishes. Due to construction, you have to walk 2-3 blocks from the closest street parking. Spacing for social distancing was good, and we didn't need to make a reservation.

I was very excited to visit this restaurant last night to show off Atlanta food scene to a friend visiting from France. Food quality was mediocre at best. I could’ve gotten same food for 1/3 of the price at one of the many Buford Highway Indian restaurants (probably better). The tandoori king Prawns were incredibly salty, the Tandoori mixed grill was very dry. The Goat Handi was good but not enough sauce. The Naan was undercooked. They added an 18% “service charge for parties of more than 6” (we were 4 people!!!). WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I will stick to Tabla next time.

My husband and I were very excited to see a Indian restaurant opening so close to home. We went there for dinner and Blue India Atlanta did not disappoint. The service was nice and the food was delicious. We plan to go back again and bring some friends.

This is a great spot to hang out, the bar is beautiful and the food is perfectly portioned. The food is as tasty as it is beautiful, glad to have a Blue India as part of the Atlanta scene!

The food was great. Tandoori clay oven dishes very authentic. The service (manager and chef) were fantastic. I will defintely be back. I have one suggestion only. I would have like some vegetable side dishes like chana masala, tarka dhal, bombal aloo, matar paneer or other side dishes aubergine, cauliflower etc. Highly recommend it to everyone.

I'm trying to tone down my ratings a notch, but this place deserves the whole enchilada. Sorry. First, the venue is very well done, almost upscale, with a large glass window for viewing the chef making tandori. After dinner he invited us back to explain what he was doing. Service is very solid, the food is excellent, three of us dined and we shared food and had two appetizers and naan. Try the fried okra, like nothing I've had before. The food is really really good. Figure around $20 for the main course, beer is $6-7 and they have wine and mixed drinks now. This is just off Peachtree on 8th Street, so it isn't very visible, but I sincerely hope enough people try it to give it a go. Go once and you'll be back, and No, I'm not the owner! Try it.

Found this to be a wonderfully inviting restaurant with waitress being very helpful in describing the dishes and their level of hotness. The naan is made on site and some of the best I have had. Has an Anglo/Indian menu that was different than the typical Indian restaurant and that was a plus. Wide beer selection. One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to with superlative and friendly service.

First time trying Indian food and it was so delicious! The air conditioning was broken the day we went, in the middle of summer, so it was hot in there but they apologized and had multiple fans going trying to cool it off. Over all great experience.

we ate here on a Sunday night, about an hour before the restaurant was scheduled to close, and from entering to leaving I got the feeling we were a hindrance to the staff. We ordered a portion of the wings and a lamb masala with rice and naan bread. The wings were supposed to be a starter, but they came about 10 minutes after our main had come. The food was ok, nothing special and as the starter came after the main course, its difficult to rate the place any more then a 2*. Price was ok, and worth paying had our food came pout in the right order. Disappointing.

yes with all the curries that i got from them they gave me free rice which is great as you can store it in the fridge and it stays good for 2days

Great food. Very affordable. Friendly waiter with spot on recommendations. Buttery chicken was great. Next time I am going to try their vindaloo.
Nice restaurant
We came her whilst staying in the US and we were looking for something that didn't serve the same food as everywhere else. Did not disappoint and had a lovely meal
