Excellent sushi & service

By ScottEP |

What really impresses about this place is the number of vegetarian sushi options available, and the available menu modifications. Service was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Cool décor.

Good Enough to Warrant a Return Visit

By Brad Friedlander |

Overall, this was a pleasant and enjoyable dinner. The sashimi presentation (see photo) was very appealing. Service was good and friendly. The quality of the fish was good and it was fresh. The cold sake selection is very good with options for 2 oz, 40 oz, 300ml carafe, and full bottles. This allows you to try more than one to see what you like without having to buy a whole bottle. My waiter was knowledgeable about the sakes. The only disappointment was that they ran out of uni when I ordered it. Sashimi prices looked a little high, but the 3 piece serving consist of generous size pieces. Personally, I would have preferred each piece cut in half (thickness) to improve the experience. The fish was tender, but the pieces were really too large for a single bite. The restaurant is in a plaza dominated by Trader Joe's and containing a large number of eateries. It is like an outside food court. This is on my list for a return visit.

Birthday Certificate

By richandnanmassey |

My wife and I have eaten at Blue Sushi several times and always enjoy being there and our meals. It is especially enjoyable when you have a $10.00 BD certificate! I really like their salmon dish and my wife especially likes the coconut shrimp. Worth your time for a visit.

Very fresh and wide variety!

By texascaver |

Food was very, very good with a lot of standard and eclectic choices. Bar staff was very friendly and the martinis were especially good. Prices were fair and they have something for the sushi lover and for those more timid. I especially like the hokey Godzilla movies that were playing. Check it out!

Nothing Special

By nancy t |

I tried the Shijon & Eden rolls and found them very boring and tasteless. Others at the table were not thrilled with their rolls either. The nice part if it's cool outside they have a nice patio.

Good food!

By lars0nw |

Great food! Love the pineapple in rolls! Service can be a little slow. The Hawaiian and South Pacific rolls are great! Will come back.

Just okay

By Joe B |

We have dined many times at Blue Sushi with generally okay results. The food is uninspired but generally fine although on our last visit we found bones in our Sashimi which was obviously concerning. The atmosphere is nice, the service fine, and the drinks okay. Right about in the middle of the pack as far as Sushi goes.

Great Happy Hour, OK service

By Kate S |

Was there for Sunday Happy Hour (noon - 8pm). Lots of choices of sushi and sashimi ($5.50 - $9) on the happy hour menu along with drinks specials and decently priced hot items too. Service was fine at the beginning of the meal but the service started to drop the ball once a few more customers showed.

Could be great

By Jeff P |

Clubby atmosphere; not Japanese zen. Very good rolls and sushi. Shishito peppers were terrible. Overcooked mush. Wasabi was very good; ginger was tough and stringy. Seaweed salad was good. Service was great.

Best Sushi in Texas-Hands Down!

By Greg K |

We have been there twice, only because we are 4 hours away. The first time was on accident (and trip advisor reviews) the second time was deliberate. We drove an additional 40 minutes just because life is too short for bad sushi. The staff is awesome, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the sushi rocks! This is our go to place for sushi in Dallas.

Best Sushi Place I've been to in awhile

By Larry W |

In Dallas for a few days, and decided to try Blue Sushi Sake Grill. Arrived about 6:30 pm and was seated immediately. Whitney, the waitress, came and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. She explained the menu and asked us if we had any questions. No questions, she went to get our drinks and then asked us for our order. No rush here. Attentive to service and the food is wonderful. I ordered Pork Gyoza, Sesame Seabass and Crunchy LA Rolls. If I lived in this city, I would be here once a week.

Yummy sushi

By joanemitchell |

The setting is very comfortable and the food and drinks are delicious!! Innovative menu is a nice change. We all loved our food so much we had to go for a second order eventhough we were full :)

Sushi and Gojira – A Winning Combination!

By Mr_and_Mrs_Cuddles |

Our group of friends had been told this was the best place for sushi in the area, and it earned that praise quite well. Offering unique takes on classics in a unique setting, the sense of fun here is infectious. The sushi, of course, is the star of the show, but there’s a special emphasis here on vegetarian options. The “shareable” vegetarian lettuce wraps could easily be a meal for two just on its own. The platter comes out with pickled cucumbers, carrots and both crunchy and soft sesame noodles with an array of sauces to drape over your creation. The vegetarian and vegan sushi options are also of interest, including the Shojin, essentially a BBQ seitan sushi. We found this a bit of a strange experiment; the seitan texture is very chewy, but the BBQ flavor comes through well. Overall, it’s quite a nice vegan option to have on the menu. Their unique take on Inari was also unexpected; where it’s usually sweetened rice in tofu wrappers, here you’re served the wrappers with a helping of shredded beets. Unusual, but healthy (a bit less sweet), heavy on the vegetables, and it does go well with the sesame flavor. Classic California rolls came out with much higher quality crabmeat than you’d usually find and went great with soy sauce and ginger. Others at the table, trying more exotic sushi selections, had great praise as well, as did those who went for the more cautious options of chicken and salmon. Everyone left this meal saying it was a great pick, and beyond the food, this was in no small part due to the amazing décor of the place. Accents of metal mesh highlight the wooden tables and illuminated glass wall panels of soft, soothing blue. Every aspect of the experience is thoughtfully arranged, from the slices of cucumber placed exactly horizontally in every glass of water to the cubist birds flying above the bar. Any group, from a couple out for a romantic evening to our cluster of ten enjoying an evening out, can enjoy this quiet place to sit and appreciate a finely crafted meal. Also, guests are greeted upon entering with a floor-to-ceiling illuminated mural of a rampaging Godzilla terrorizing Tokyo with his radioactive fire breath, and that sets a great tone for any meal. Highly recommended for sushi lovers, vegetarians, vegans and Nietzchean Godzilla fans.

Great place!

By Hicks B |

Food, and service is great. Eating sushi can be a good and fun experience and this place always lives up to the expectations

This hit the spot!

By lars0nw |

Blue Sushi hit the spot tonight! Loved the South Pacific Roll, but did it without the scallions. Not a fan of those. Also did the Hawaiian and another roll. All great! Liked enough I had to order seconds! Then the banana dessert. Oh my. Great stuff!

Sushi sushi sushi!

By rachel_nz15 |

We ordered 5 sushi rolls for two of us. It was definitely enough food and all of the rolls we chose were really really good!!! Would get them all again...crunchy blue, crunchy l.a., thriller, rodeo and hotel cali. We ordered take out and it was ready when we picked it up. Only thing is we got home and realized there was no wasabi. Still good though!

Best sushi I've had in a long time

By Michele K |

I kind gave up on sushi for awhile; it just got boring and uninspired. And then, blue sushi came on the scene. The marlin specialty was fantastic--it was made to be eaten just as is--no soy sauce or other condiment--delicate, flavorful, fresh. We also loved the coconut crab soup--sooo delicious--the mussels were amazing too. Can't wait to go back and take friends! Also, the outdoor patio is nice for spring.

Hotel Cali

By guitardude9587 |

This is my go to sushi spot in Dallas. Great sushi and incredible happy hour sushi prices. The shrimp tempura maki and hotel cali are amazing!

Great sushi, brilliant service

By Andrea S |

Found this place just googling sushi places in dallas and boy Im glad we found it. Lovely fresh sushi, the most delicious cucumber sunomono salad (im a fan), lovely location and even better service. Our waitress was super friendly without being overwhelming. Also my friend ordered the ceviche but did not really like it (her personal taste) so did not actually ate it. Funny thing was that although we did not say a thing about not liking or wanting the dish, just left the plate full, it was discounted from our bill with a little note that said sorry. Definetly coming back when in Dallas

Great Sushi

By Chris G |

My coworker and I arrived into town and I told him that Blue had good reviews for sushi. He said let's give it a shot. We walked in and sat at the bar. Very nice place. Huge drink bar and sushi bar. We start with the edamame and calamari. My only disappointment with the calamari was the portion. They threw in lightly fried vegetables as well, to make it look like you were getting a big portion of calamari. Not the case. For the entree, I had their Itchy Salmon (excellent), rainbow roll and avocado roll, plus an order of unagi. Everything was good and fresh. Highly recommend if you are looking for good sushi in the Dallas area.

Sushi mainstay

By Chadwick F |

ordered a huge platter of sushimi on a double date, probably 30+ pieces to share, along with 2 rolls, and it did not disappoint. I come here 2 or 3 times a month, really really good sushi and a good atmosphere. at the bar they're always showing a kung fu movie and on the other screen nature scenes that actually are not boring. Good sake selection too.

The best sushi in Dallas

By mcf48 |

This wonderful new restaurant near Trader Joe's on Walnut Hill is well worth the visit. The service is great, the location is perfect, parking is plentiful, but best of all is the sushi. There are so many different maki rolls, and every one we have tried is superbly flavored. The fish is fresh, the textures are varied, the presentation is appealing. Go before 6:00 for their early bird specials. And the prices are reasonable, too.

Great Fresh Sushi Secret

By 208sm208 |

I love this place! Great Happy Hour deals. Great Lunch deals. Oh yeah great food! The appetizers are a meal size.

Just OK

By TravelLikeaStar |

It's part of a big chain... I tried several different types of rolls. They are ok but nothing really special. I wasn't blown away by any of them. They do have really good prices for happy hour with a nice selection of rolls to choose from. The service was just terrible. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a less than enthusiastic host. The server had the same attitude and obviously wanted to be somewhere else. There are better choices for sushi. I should have known better than to go to a "Chain" restaurant.

Fabulous!

By anna h |

Had a great experience at Blue! Food, service, environment, was wonderful! We are so excited to go back!

I LOVE Blue Sushi!

By Tam Warner Minton |

Blue Sushi is a fantastic restaurant on Dallas, on Walnut Hill and 75. The sushi is so incredibly fresh! Delicious! They also have offerings for the non sushi eaters! Go to this restaurant, you will love it!

Warm Sake, Godzilla & Sashimi ~

By Lexibelle |

My man flew in to Dallas this past weekend to attend a black tie event. It was a frigid Saturday afternoon when I picked him up. Since we had a big event coming up we decided on a light afternoon lunch. We didn't have a particular place in mind and just happened upon Blue Sushi Sake Grill. Warm sake sounded good and it was. I checked in on YELP and received a complimentary bowl of yummy edamame. We also split a few pieces of Sashimi & steamed mussels. Everything was fresh and tasty. They played a Godzilla movie on the big screen which was fun to watch. The decor is cool & trendy. We sat at the bar but the Sake lounge behind us looked comfy too. The service was a bit slow considering we were one of the few there (it was cold - [think tundra] outside) All in all, a nice meal with great options. Looking forward to returning soon.

Likely won’t return

By 40jacie |

I’ve been here many times on weekdays for lunch and the sushi was always outstanding, and service has always just been okay. It can be a bit slow at times. I came for sushi on a Saturday and sat at the bar. The restaurant was not busy, but service was very slow. One of my rolls had tempura eel on top of it that did not look like it was cooked all the way, or as if it had been sitting out for awhile. I always get this roll and it is normally crispy but this time it was very soggy. I picked off most of the eel pieces but still ended up being sick that night.

Valentine's Day

By teeratliff |

I loved it here! The menu had an array of great items to meet everyone's needs... especially if sushi isn't your thing... so don't shy away because of the name... the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable... The drinks were everything!! Lol... I haven't had the nerve yet to try sake... which I definitely plan to conquer that fear on my next visit...

Very good sushi and not bad prices

By David T |

We were here with a group of 14, and in that time, another large group of people sat down as well, so the service was a little slow. But...great sushi and great atmosphere. The waitress was very good. And there's drinks and ice cream a few doors down. What else could you want in an easy evening out?

Quite Good

By srdbigd |

Nice sushi and other Japanese inspired food. They have a great happy hour but their lunch specials seem a little dear. Quality is good though. A must try for the sushi lover.

Fresh sushi & great happy hour specials

By txchiquita22 |

This place is tucked away in a trendy mutli-use neighborhood, definitely worth finding. There is covered parking nearby & they have a beautiful patio. Their happy hour menu has lots of choices for $5 and $5.50. Try the cowgirl, it was different! The house salads and miso soup are very fresh. Our server was friendly, upbeat and courteous - always a plus. I had a jalapeno (muddled) margarita, yummy not on the happy hour but oh, so good. Can't wait to go back.

We love it here!

By Elizabeth B |

We started going to Blue Sushi shortly after they opened in our neighborhood. They have terrific happy hour specials. The food is delicious and the service is friendly, prompt, and knowledgable. We have never had a bad experience.

Refreshing new spin on Sushi

By Michele D |

We received a coupon in the mail for Blue Sushi Saki so decided to give it a try early on a Sunday evening and then again one evening during the week. Both experiences were awesome but Sunday is happy hour for most of the day so a bunch of the Sushi is half price ... definitely the best time to go. What I love most is that they offer several Veggi sushi rolls that are all so unique and delicious. And they offer lots of fun mixed drinks. There is also a yummy dessert (sorry I can't remember the name) made with raspberry ice cream. Do not leave Blue Sushi Sake without having this dessert, no matter how stuffed you are. During our first visit, we had a female waitperson who was really great about helping us decide what sushi and drinks to choose (they have a lot of really unique items). During our second visit, we had a male waitperson who, I'm so sorry to say, was very smelly. He provided decent service but had terrible BO, so much so that we had to cover our noses when he was at our table. We had a chance to meet the manager at the end of our meal. He is awesome and took the time to talk with us about the restaurant and different sushi/dessert options. We totally loved him, but we were too embarrassed to complain about about our Stinky waitperson. We'll definitely be back but we'll make sure to ask for a different section next time : ) Also, while we took our daughter with us to Blue Sushi Sake, it's probably better suited for adults. It definitely a fun, trendy new food addition to Dallas.

Coconut Chicken

By Caroline G |

There coconut chicken is so delicious my co- worker and I went 2 days in a roll to eat the same thing for lunch. Even though it was lunch the portions are big and the presentation is beautiful!! Takes a little longer for the chicken since it is a sushi place so you may want to go on your day off. It comes with asparagus and potatoes. Highly recommended.

The best all around Japanese food, but casual atmosphere.

By MaynardImages |

The manager, Scott, was very attentive and made certain all was perfect. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food was beautifully presented and it was delicious. I've revisited the restaurant four times in the last 30 days!

AWESOME!!

By FlyingAwayTogether |

Vicky was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. We had the ceviche, Sapporo steamed mussels, tuna tower, and the chicken entreé. Everything was soooo good. We also had the samurai martini, sake martini, and the pacific rim martini. Get them!!! Happy hour prices are going to make your wallet smile!!!

Great Follow up!!

By Mikah S |

I recently had an unfortunate first impression with this company, but a manager reached out and within a few days explained the situation and followed through everything she had said she would do to make up with the misunderstanding! I am was so impressed with the environment and taste of food the first time I visited and now I can say I am impressed with the management and service! We gave it another try and everything was perfect! This is a great company run by people who truly care about customer service!

Our favorite sushi spot by far!

By Cloakofstars |

I can't say enough good things about this place. We have been regulars at the Fort Worth location for about four years now, driving from Frisco just to eat there. So, of course we were ecstatic to hear about this location opening. The food is always delicious with beautiful presentation. The waiters always friendly. The managers are the most hospitable I have ever met (our friend Perry in FTW and now Scott in Dallas). Scott took wonderful care of us today and it was a pleasure talking with him. Always a wonderful experience coming to Blue. I definitely recommend it to everyone I can. Can't wait to go back!

Nothing Like Omaha Location

By ginar281 |

Server must have been having a bad night. We recently ate at Omaha location.... ordered same items as in Omaha, very disappointed in the flavors. VERY lacking in flavor, NOT the same. Can't wait to go back to Omaha location, probably won't be back to this location.

Yummy

By KrisC4 |

Started with an awesome River Rock Beef Tenderloin and finished with the Godizilla bomb. Planning the next trip already..

Excellent, run, don't walk!

By mcgotes |

First visit and can't wait to return. The coconut crab soup, itchy seabass, Cali, and crunchy LA rolls were fresh and delicious! Nick, our waiter was the best!

Mediocre

By Dallastfc |

Stopped here with some friends after having a few beers next door at Blatt ( great pub) ... we were to lazy to drive anywhere really good so compromised and settled for Blue Sushi... the service was friendly , the selection of dishes average , and the preparation acceptable ... nothing stellar here... as the police say when passing a train wreck or major accident , “ nothing to see here folks”... would I ever make this place a destination dining experience...NO! If you’re not in the mood for gas station sushi ( joke ) then this place is a notch maybe a be a notch&a half above.

Great food, over attentive service, double check your bill

By Julie S |

I was thrilled to find this spot considering my map app wasn't making it easy. I was also happy to see that the rolls I was interested in ordering were on the lunch special menu. I was able to order both of them with a side of soup or salad for $12!!! I did that and also ordered a classic saketini - I mean how can you go wrong with Tito's vodka and sake!?! The food came quickly and was some of the best I've had. The philly roll with the large portion of smoked salmon on top was dynamite. I loved the sauce of the hotel Cali roll and I had way more than I needed to eat. Only real complaints were that the staff seemed almost too attentive - I know it's rare but I was confused as to who my server/waitress was because so many people came by. Also, most annoying was that my bill was wrong and didn't have the lunch special pricing already reflected - this was over a $10 difference and I wondered if they were just hoping I would sign away...bottom line - great food, just double check your bill.

GREAT SUSHI!

By Gbusiek |

I love Sushi and Blue was a winner! I hd the Tenderloin "Hot Rocks" and it was delicious! Topped it all off with a SMU Tower and that was great as well. Liked the service and the ambiance.

Very good food and service!

By tpenney |

We ordered the tidal wave, crunchy red, spider maki, and the beach. Loved the tidal wave. By far our favorite. The two of us shared the four rolls but my husband had a beer and a stayed with water. Total bill came to $55 - reasonable for sushi. Don't depend on Maps to get you there - turn in by Trader Joes and you'll find it in the back of the shopping area.

Under delivered

By Mikah S |

We waited over an hour and a half for our sushi, which was fine, but the manager came out to our table and promised us we would be comped for a part of our meal, when the bill came out there was nothing comped. I was disappointed at the service and that the manager realized there was something wrong and did nothing but talk her way through it, but nothing with her actions. Very disappointed in my first experience there. I would never return.

Locals choice

By Norman B |

Visiting friends in Dallas and loving a good sushi place, this was their choice. We were delighted. The menu was short, the food was tops. Great service, delicious foods. Appetizers, main course, sake, the works. An excellent choice

Way overpriced

By lifebusters |

Sushi was so thin I could see through it. 11.50 for a tiny sake and not that great of an area . I had to send back the tofu because it looked so bad. Would not recommend this place.

Like it

By simwbwlp2013 |

I have found my favorite roll here, called the crunchy blue. It was tasty, the prices were reasonable, there is happy hour. The crunchy LA is good too. Waitress was good, checked on us during the meal, was helpful with describing items on the menu. The only thing I would say is that in the back, the seating can get a little cramped, this guy was trying to sit and his butt was almost in my face and of course he apologized because it was uncomfortable. Other than the decor is the front is nice.

Happy hour sushi

By AHS64 |

Was there for early dinner. Lots of choices of sushi, some with happy hour prices ($5.50 vs $9 or higher). Japanese sake and beer options. Great and friendly service. Enjoyed the dinner, although the music was bit loud for conversation.

Make any roll riceless!! #ketofriendly

By Je |

The title does say it all! This is a fantastic sushi just at walnut hill and hwy 75. It does not disappoint!! My personal favorites are the Crunchy LA and the Hot popper ( riceless add crab mix and avocado) So delicious.

Lunch for two

By Patrice N |

My sister and I were in Dallas apartment hunting. We had been out and about all morning and wanted to go somewhere we could sit and relax for a bit. Blue Sushi Sake Grill was the perfect place! We sat on the patio and it felt like we were in a zen garden. The peaceful atmosphere coupled with the lovely cucumber water made us feel relaxed and was just what we needed. Their lunch menu had a great selection of rolls. The food was amazing we were both beyond satisfied with our meals. I got two rolls but the one that really stood out was the hotel Cali! This place is the total package and I can’t wait to continue to visit once I move to Dallas.

Delicious sushi

By Gregkuhn |

We went as a family of 5 for the sushi and fried rice. The sushi was great. The atmosphere would be great for an adult date but they accommodated our family and we weren't the only ones thee with kids. The server was great but when I ordered cold sake I got it warm. It was too long of a day to complain. Recommend the roja sushi.

Not up to the standards of other Blue Sushi

By caroleiaap |

I've been to Blue Sushi at two other locations - and came away quite impressed. This visit was very underwhelming and ordinary - which might be fine, unless you knew what the experience could be. In fact, I just had to googlemap where we ate to be sure of the name - it's that different! I found service to be "adequate" but not stellar and not terribly friendly. I have food allergies, so my choices were limited - my Philadelphia roll was good, but since I could not share with what my companions were eating, 8 pieces of that was too much. My companion's sushi looked amazing.

Good oriental food in sensible portions

By 1953Trek |

Good value Japanese sushi in manageable portions at reasonable prices. Attentive service.Located in a good area of town with adequate parking.

Vegan options offered did not disappoint!!

By Carmen J |

I first visited this place because it offers vegan options and it has become one of my favorite restaurants that has me coming back for more! My favorite is the prince roll, eggplant vegan tempura, avocado with sweet soy. They offer 9 vegan rolls as well as a few vegan appetizers and all the rolls are delicious. There is a luxurious dessert made with raspberry sorbet and dark chocolate nuggets that is a must try on your visit! Went with friends and ordered one of each roll on the vegan menu and they brought it beautifully displayed in a boat platter!

Love the Creative Sushi Rolls!

By Zach Hartnedy |

High class, quality ingredient, great sushi! Every roll we got was great, wonderful combinations of ingredients in all their rolls which made it hard to pick but don’t think you can go wrong! 9/10 Cannot add screenshots but the pictures are on my Instagram (@FatZachsFatSnacks) Only got sushi here so can’t speak for the rest of the menu.

Good Sushi in Preston Hollow area

By 5016DAH |

Hip and contemporary space in "new" Preston Hollow Village (Walnut Hill and Central) in the same center as Trader Joe's. Large menu with lots to pick from. The RODEO is 8 pieces of seared tenderloin, shrimp tempura, avocado, cilantro, radish sprouts, sriracha-fried onion rings, fresno pepper aioli. SNOW WHITE is crispy seabass, avocado, burdock root, bibb lettuce, soy paper, panca mayo, YUMMY! The nigiri is very good, fresh fish! Nice bar area with dining available there. Lots of specialty drinks. Good service. There is plenty of parking in the parking garage but parking on the "street" is hit or miss. Nice small patio for outside dining. Reasonable prices.

Amazing choices

By dancinggoats |

For a landlocked sushi restaurant we found a selection more representative of a seaside restaurant. Uni was fresh and clean, presentation was visually pleasing and innovative. Also, don’t be afraid to ask if you don’t see something on the menu. Asked for a sashimi platter, of chef’s choice and was rewarded with an amazing meal.

Very nice upscale sushi

By Joe B |

Blue Sushi Saki Grill on Walnut Hill just West of Central Expressway is a very nice addition to Preston Hollow dining! We try to dine there either for lunch or dinner at least once each week if possible. The restaurant is divided into two main sections with a dining room and sushi bar on one side and a full service bar with dining available on the other. We alternate between the two sides depending on our mood but the same menus is available on both sides and is excellent! The sushi is inventive and well crafted, the drinks are equally good, and the price is moderate. If you take advantage of the lunch specia S and the early evening Happy Hour the you can enjoy excellent food and drink for a very reasonable price.

Birthday lunch

By WednesdayNightGirl |

Took my niece for birthday lunch to Blue Sushi Saki Grill Saturday. It was really nice spot -- the waitstaff was very solicitous. She got the tempura shrimp appetizer. WOW it was delicious! Light and crispy -- perfect. She also got the veggie lettuce wraps, which I did not try. But there were a lot of carb options here, rathe than the grilled veggies I had sort of expected. It looked really pretty though I got the salmon, at the suggestion of the waitress. It was really delicious They serve it a little undercooked (the waitress told me ahead of time0 and I think that I would have preferred it slightly more done, but it was light and flaky fish and it was really good. We topped off our meal with the banana dessert. A banana sushi, so to speak, and fabulous banana ice cream. Really nice spot!

I was impressed!

By mmmartin70TX |

Came here for lunch and I was very impressed. Very friendly and helpful server. Menu had great happy hour prices that I intend to go back to enjoy. We ordered two appetizers blue balls (yes, name is stupid) with tofu and crab served warm was absolutely heaven and a fried shrimp with a spicy mayo coating that was awesome with a little kick. We shared two rolls, Hawaiian roll served hot and one cold (cant remember) and the cold was more enjoyable. But everything was just excellent. I cannot wait to come back again soon! I work nearby.

Best Sushi Restaurant

By cyncar443 |

The food standard was very high. The sushi was of best quality and we liked the atmosphere a lot.Had a great time.

Great ambiance albeit a bit pricey

By MarkJL |

My daughter and I went to he Blue Sushi restaurant for a late evening dinner in North Dallas, Tx. It has a great ambiance and vibe to it, lots of people frequent it. I loved the decor and seating arrangements in the bar area especially with the gigantic Godzilla back-lit poster on the wall. A month earlier, my wife was with my daughter in the same restaurant and really loved the food. We had nigiri tekka, Godzilla roll, Hawaiian roll and Spanish fly--all outstandingly delicious! The only thing that was of note was the price, a little on the expensive side but I think that it comes with the territory for this area in Dallas. Highly recommended place for sushi!

Dinner with our daughters and grand children

By CMSSF |

Had the Anthosan's chicken $13.50. Plenty to eat can be shared. Total wave Maki and thriller both $11. Not raw. Nigiri blue balls tempura fried crab four pieces $7. Assorted drinks and wine. This place is a keeper large menu.

Top notch platting and delicious Japanese Cuisine

By Seus K |

Great ambiance, amazing service and beautiful food. My highlights are tuna tower and sirloin steak. I saw a big boat of mixed sushi and sashimi from the neighbours and definitely try next time.

No staff

By Mark B |

Went for the second time to try and get seated. No such luck. Given a wait time of 20 minutes. Waited 40 minutes. We weren’t close. Loads of empty tables. Hostess said there wasn’t enough staff to “set them up”. This restaurant is apparently chronically understaffed. Kitchen can’t-keep up. Last week restaurant was empty due to no kitchen staff. Orders backed up. They couldn’t seat customers as they didn’t want them to have to wait an hour to be served. At least they comped our beers for waiting. We went elsewhere. Never again.

Enjoyable!

By Tastefullycoco - The Simple Treasures |

Overall good experience. Albeit slow service. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, so not sure why such slow inattentive service. They have a sushi happy hour on Sunday with several basic choices. The sushi was fresh and good.

Fun happy hour

By Carrie H |

Love going here for happy hour. I prefer to sit on the right side lounge, but both sides are nice. We always over order but it's fine with happy hour prices. Love the yellow tail ! The jalepeno gives it just the right kick to be perfect. My husband likes the tempora veggies. Service is fantastic!

Favorite Vegan Sushi in Dallas

By Rachel |

Blue Sushi is my favorite place for sushi around the DFW area. Besides being well decorated and in a really nice location, the food has never been less than fantastic and there are such good happy hour deals all the time. One million thumbs up for all of the vegan sushi options that aren't just rice and nori and cucumber or avocado. I drive way out of my way to come here and I come here often just for their vegan sushi because it is seriously so good. The Cowgirl is my favorite because, really, when is pickle tempura not a good idea? Also one time I brought my Japanese grandma here and when we were about to leave, someone came out from the kitchen and bowed to her and that was super sweet. In summary, I love Blue and I bring everyone I know here.

Nice end for a day at the Fort Worth Japanese Gatdens

By Diane S |

They have a large selection during Happy Hour. We sat at Sushi Bar. I just didn't care for blaring music. Would rather background music so we can enjoy talking. Nice presentation.

It's a NO for me

By Tomeka M |

Waited 15 minutes NO ONE addressed us or brought water. Everyone around us was serviced, I'm not sure what made this establishment not service me and my daughter.... I'll NEVER go back and will let everyone know that looks like me to bypass this place.

Loved the underwater video that plays continuously above the bar

Pretty decent sushi for a land locked location. Visiting family and this is a pretty close spot to drop in for lunch or dinner. Kid friendly and has a wide assortment to please young and experienced. Highly recommend.

Fresh Fish!!

Yummy, fresh sushi. The only way to eat sushi is fresh and blue fish gets it right!!! Nice presentation of fresh offerings. The wait staff is friendly without being over bearing. The restaurant itself is also well maintained and clean.

Hadn't been out for good sushi and sashimi in a while and some friends invited us and they were driving (I hate driving in Dallas traffic.) so we went. I've been to the Blue Sushi in Fort Worth a couple of times and that was our original choice, but they are so busy and didn't have any reservations available around the time we wanted to go. Our friends said this location is never that packed (maybe because Dallas has two locations?) and they were able to get a reservation when we wanted to go. When we got there, ~6pm it wasn't busy at all but by the time we left, it was hopping with people waiting to be seated. The tables are really small. With four of us, we had to constantly shuffle plates and glasses to be able to fit everything on the table. Kind of annoying but you have to shoehorn in as many places to seat people as is possible, I guess. I'm also not a big fan of sitting on stools as opposed to chairs for that long but that was what was available. Our servers were great except for forgetting one of my orders. They checked on us fairly regularly and kept our drinks filled. We had a variety of items and shared them. I think my favorites were the Truffle Salmon Sashimi and the Hawaiian Roll (which is kind of surprising since I'm not a fan of mango but there wasn't that much) but everything was good. We had Itchy Salmon Nagiri, Lion King Roll, Crunchy Red Roll and Cherry Bomb Nagiri. And my wife had a Bluetini (which must have been good since she had two). We also tried the Mango Crab Rangoon (not a big fan of Rangoon in general but my wife liked it), the Philadelphia Roll and probably some others I'm forgetting. As I said, we don't go out for sushi that often and when I got the bill, I remembered why. Good sushi isn't cheap. Our bill was $75 and that's pre-tip. But the quality was there so I get it. We had a good time with some good friends and would happily (and will) return to either Blue Sushi location in the future.
