Breakfast on the patio was amazing! The service was excellent as well and very helpful with helping us plan a beach trip.

Great place to start your day. The location is convenient but unfortunately is difficult to find a parking spot during weekdays. So tried to be early to get fast access to the restaurant. Clean facilities with nice staff. I will eat again here on my next visit to Hollywood.

This is one of my fave brunch spots in LA! Their crunchy french toast is absolutely to die for! I dream about it every day~ everything is so amazing here. There's usually a long wait. I came here during normal brunch hours and ended up waiting almost an hour. But on one random Sat morning, I came as early as 830AM and there was no wait! So the earlier you get here, the better.

Tasty delicious portion very big one plate will b enough for two person, myst try their ginger shot, besides other thing must go early cause ull b n qu

Try the french toast. It's to die for! Everything was really fresh and good, and the fresh squeezed juices are not to be missed.

Love a good breakfast place and this is definitely one to go to. Eggs Benedict are excellent. Also tried the French toast, also great. Service was on the money as well. To top this great meal off, the price was very reasonable, compared to the other meals we've had I'd rate this place as one the best tasting meals on this trip

Having spent 3 weeks holidaying / driving around california, I can confidently say this was hands down the best breakfast / brunch we had. So good we stayed in LA on our last night so we could go back the next day before our flight home! We tried the blu jam benedict and the smoked salmon benedict the first time around....both brilliant! Steak hash and the signature french toast the second time. Again, couldn't fault it! Better than anything I've had in the UK. The service was spot on and attentive... the ambience of the place was friendly and buzzy... When I go back to LA this will be somewhere near the top of my list for a repeat visit!

Lovely place to go for brunch. Nice atmosphere, good food and good coffee. Service was great. We managed to park just across the street too without too much hassle.

Good food, nice atmosphere, just always a long wait, not sure it's worth it for how long you have to wait

Great selection of breakfast items. Some traditional some twists. Went with the eggwich which was tasty. Wife had the egg benedict which was the table winner. Highly recommend.

It was my first time eating at Blu Jam Café. My daughter wanted to eat here for her 23rd birthday. That is today. I had a breakfast item and we ordered the crunchy french toast to share. It was so delicious, I think I could have eaten it all by myself. I simply wanted to keep eating even though I was full. The servings are pretty big. I 100% plan on making this place one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in that area and will for sure be recommending it to friends.

This place is very good. So it's def a strong 3 if not 4 stars, but I felt it incumbent to downgrade the average a little since we were far from the median review praises here. Very, very good service, a nice menu to chose from and it's fairly veg friendly. We got the French toast and the Roma Paris (?) scramble. Both were very good, but nothing set them apart from any similar item at any other quality breakfast joint. French press coffee is a great offering, but I wasn't blown away by the quality of the cup. Prices are right for the value. A good spot, just don't plan to be bragging to friends, and for sure don't wait too long for food. For the record, we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes on Friday morning around 9:30.

If you are in LA and looking for the best place to have breakfast, well this is the one of the places. Excellent taste, excellent service and reasonable price. I recommend this place. MB

THE BURBON BAR! Everything here is always so go, and fresh. The water taste very clean. I wish i lived closer. If you are undecided, you have to try this place. You can't go wrong! Hope this helps. Best- Riley

We enjoyed amazing pancakes and quesadillas at blu jam, very delicious. Service was cool and so was The atmosphere. Totally recommendable.

BluJam Cafe is without a doubt one of my favorite restaurants in LA. The food is always top notch. The crunchy french toast, huevos rancheros and eggwich are my favorites - but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They use top of the line meats and ingredients, so it is slightly pricier, but you get what you pay for. If you want cheap, go to Denny's! I also love the fresh juices. And everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and helpful. BluJam is my go-to place when I have friends or family visiting LA and I want them to have a great meal.

My wife had been here before on a previous trip to L.A. and she wanted to return - lots of great selections to choose from but the absolute must is their French toast. WOW. Most breakfast options are in the $12-15 range. Budget $35 for breakfast for two. A little on the higher end for breakfast when there are lots of cheaper diners to chose from, but well worth a try!

The food was good, but it‘s too expensive. Unfortunately the service was very bad. We paid 100$ for the 4 of us for our breakfast. 2 days later I checked my credit card accounting’s and they‘ve charged me twice, so I had to go back to the cafe, talked to the manager, who was unfriendly too, he re-checked everything and we clarified the problem, but he didn’t even apologize inconveniences. Please don’t go there. The French toast was not worth all the nerves I left there.

This place serves all day breakfast and its clear why! Our waiter Travis recommended the crunchy french toast and the risotto carbonara wich both are breakfast dishes. We really loved the crunchy toast! Also very friendly service, even tho we came in shortly before closing. We will be back next time we come to Melrose!

You're not gonna want to go on a weekend unless sitting for two hours on a dirty curb gets you going. It's worth trying on a weekday. Don't try to be all healthy and get the oatmeal or the eggs. You'll only end up secretly disappointed that you didn't get the French toast when you see how great the one your neighbor got looks.

We took our brother here for a birthday breakfast and were not disappointed by the food. The wait was a little long for a weekday morning, but we didn't have to be anywhere so it was ok. The food took a while too, but was worth the wait. We tried the recommended Crusted French toast and the blue jam benedict and both were delicious! Would recommend both! We saw many couples sharing the same two dishes as well. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, the service and speed aren't great but still would go back. Just don't expect to be in and out quick..

This place has the most amazing food items - Crunchy French Toast with Vanilla Bean sauce,Italian Breakfast, Vanilla French Toast and more hard to describe - check their menu and then have breakfast, you will not regret it !!!!!!!

Lovely breakfast all day long. Don't bother with anything else. The patio is charming for it's view, especially at sunset. Service was fast too. A great place to rest after some shopping around.

Blu Jam is a nice place for breakfast with outdoor seating, friendly staff and great food. The regular french toast is excellent the brioche bread is crispy on the outside and soft inside with toss of powdered sugar and fresh fruit. Simple, yet good! Their omelets and garden sandwich were delicious as well.

We ate breakfast at Blu Jam Cafe twice within our four day stay in DTLA. The food was delicious, inexpensive and the staff is courteous and quick. Highly recommend the Salmon Benedict and Waffle. Rating a 3/5 because we were charged extra for syrup (although we ordered waffles...weird).

I cant stress on how much I enjoyed this meal! I've had this meal 2 months ago on my visit to LA and I cant get it out of my mind its too bad I live 30hours away! We ordered the crispy french toast and the normal french toast both tasted amazing but the crispy french toast was definitely a winner! We only has to wait for 40-50min but it was well worth the wait on a beautiful sunny day. Don't be put of by the area it is not a high end area but definitely high end food. I look forward to visiting LA again just to get a bite of this amazing french toast.

While visiting my daughter we always go here for breakfast! We love the crunchy french toast! They have a nice outdoor eating setting. Their fresh squeezed juices are also very good!

Had the gourmet burger and it was fresh and tasty . My wife had the Capresi and it was also great. The table next to us ordered the Crusty French Toast which apparently this place is famous for. We admired it from afar but as we were completely stuffed we ordered a coffee. Imagine to our surprise when the waitress brought us out a plate of said Crusty French Toast! Well played! Go to this place and order French Toast , you will thank me later!

BluJam is fantastic! We went shortly after opening on a Saturday morning to avoid the crowds, but they do have a waitlist you can join on Yelp. The service was impeccable, and the food was fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. We had coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice and French toast, and eggs Benedict. All was perfection! The neighborhood is a little shady and we had taken an Uber, but there is self parking right next-door that had a sign stating $5.

The Crunch French Toast is the bomb dot com. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice little breakfast place to check this place out. The French toast will definitely keep me coming back. My partner chose the steak hash which has beautiful presentation. It comes with a poached egg, beware those who do not like them like my partner, he was very surprised. But once pushed aside, he was very satisfied. There is street parking galore on Melrose, and after you finish your great breakfast or brunch, you can take a stroll up and down Melrose and visit some of the many boutique shops.

Wonderful place for brunch! Excellent servers...don't miss the French toast...yummy!! Great Lattes, too...large menu...

Two words: French toast. I'm not sure how they prepare it, but their French toast is something to be savored in the moment, and its memory cherished for the years to come until you visit again. They deserve the 5 stars simply for this dish. Staff were also extra friendly and our waiter was out of this world. Can't recall his name but he had a beard.

You would never believe the quality of food inside, when passing this restaurant on the street. Thank you TripAdvisor for pointing us back - the food was delicious and service great!

Well, there's a reason why there is always a line out the door. It's our favorite breakfast / brunch spot in town so far, just ahead of Running Goose and Poppy & Rose. The menu here is fantastic and outstanding, especially if you're vegan or vegetarian. The atmosphere is cozy, almost clubby, and it's pretty easy parking on or around Melrose. My Morning Hash was delicious, with really fresh ingredients and great balance. My partner had the Tofu Rancheros which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our drinks were great and we'll be back again, especially during the week when the line is shorter.

The place was not busy but got busier as we were there. The waiter was just great, helpful, attentive but not intrusive. Ordered latte and it was one of , if not THE best I've had. Had the steak hash even though it was a bit pricey but it was well worth it! Best hash ever, every bite was fantastic. My wife had the French toast wth nutella and bananas and loved it too.

If you want to start a shopping day with the best foot forward, this cafe serves a great breakfast. The house signature french toast are delicious, and thr coffee in frenc pressed.

Blu Jam Cafe is the best breakfast in town -no doubts. There is always a queue, so try and go early, they are very successful. You have to try the crunchy french toast, it's insanely good. They have eggs florentine, too, delicious! the staff is super friendly, it's very cleans, 5 stars! this review is not based on one visit...went there 10 times at least!

After reading all these wonderful reviews, we decided to try breakfast at Blu Jam Cafe in Melrose Avenue, in our last day in LA, and we were certainly rewarded for our choice. Although we arrived early in the morning, we still had to had to wait for about 10-15 minutes, as the place is extremely popular. The service was great, however, and we were soon seated in our table. The interior is very nice, industrial-like and very modern. We ordered the benedict eggs with potatoes and their famous crunchy french toast (which is served with fresh berries over the top). Both of them were very delicious and we definitely enjoyed our breakfast and time there. Service was quick, polite and efficient. We also had 2 cappuccinos, and we paid 41 USD, which was a logical price (considering the LA prices and the quality of our food). One of the best breakfasts we had in our California trip and I would definitely visit the place again if I am back in LA!

I heard slot about it so wanted to check it out ... I was shocked the place is to small ...even the table is only for one plate if u have two orders u can't move your hand to eat, people are so close to you, food isn't waw at all . I tried the eggs and oats and quinoa all wasn't tasty ....not that clean ....service sucks ... To be honest so over rated for nothing ..still toast is the best place overall in Los angles. Not recommend

Went for Sunday brunch with friends. There was 6 of us, so the wait was about 30-45 minutes. Not bad considering how many people were waiting outside, and we had a large table. We went to the bar next door for some mimosas, which passed the time quickly (they don't serve alcohol at Blu Jam). I had the breakfast burger which a friend and the waiter recommended and it did not disappoint. Others had the French toast, chilaquiles, omelet, etc and everyone loved what they had. Overall great spot, and had a great time.

Perfectly-cooked Florentine Benedict and a good coffee. As an Aussie, I'm used to small coffees, but this was easily accommodated (asked for it in a tea cup following the advice of the next door table). I started asking for certain items off and adding others, then decided to just go with it as standard and glad I did. A genuinely beautiful dish, excellent, friendly service, and a cool atmosphere. Hi bumped into some fellow Aussies and it was their fourth time there. No wonder.

I had brunch here, and was very happy to have gotten a seat, as this place is very popular and always very busy! I wish I could have eaten here more than once as everything on the menu looked incredible - the staff were great, the ambience is great, and the food is perfect!

Great Place for breakfast. I can't get over the crunchy french toast is unique. Good service, fresh quality products and great selection of dishes.

If you live in LA and you haven't stood in line to get in at Blu Jam, then you're missing out. Yes, its just breakfast food, but there's a difference between greasy spoon diner and amazing, next level breakfast - and that's Blu Jam. The food is great, the vibe is perfect for brunch with friends and it's always slammed. Not sure if you can make reservations, but you definitely should try. I've never been there and walked right in. There's always a 45 minute wait, but that's because the place is that good! Definitely check it out.

No matter what I order from the menu, I am never disappointed. There is always a wait but well worth it. I don't think I have had the same thing twice. I am determined to eat my way through the menu. The owner is always pleasant and checks on the tables to ensure you are enjoying your experience. Gotta love this place!

The food is clean and the bait is good. There's a queue, mostly. Prices from the average working staff and friendly sitting place clean good experience

The food options are endless. I had the muscle plate and it was delicious. He had the French toast which was also incredible. Latte with almond milk is a great choice. The service was attentive and helpful with the menu. Must try it.

Wonderful breakfast, reasonably priced and in a great location. This place was once a jazz club, so the artwork and photos of Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and many others are great to look at. The French toast and pancakes are delicious, and the staff are lovely. I'll be back!

My husband had the a dish with chorizo. Started with a M. Mingo or something like that. It was perfection. We all shared the crunchy french toast. Coffee was smooth and rich. I had the Cobb salad and it was good. Our 14 year old son said the cheeseburger was in his top 3. Overall wonderful. Next time we are in LA for the UCLA medical center we go back for sure. Loved everything.

Get there early around 9:00 AM before the lines form outside... That's also when the parking meters on Melrose become operational. Before that there is no parking on the street. We had a delicious off-beat breakfast of French toast and an omelet combination. A special blend of different fruits and vegetable juice topped off our morning meal. Coffee was delicious. Very popular place for breakfast and they also serve lunch. Try it you won't be disappointed.

It's pretty good, I mean, I usually hit up Urth Cafe for my vegetarian affairs, but decided to see what all the hype was about. Apparently they're one (perhaps of many) places that serves "the best bread pudding, (in the world?!)" which is exactly what everyone wants. So if you dig on carnivore trends and bread pudding with a bit of fancy flair, and maybe some boho treads thrown in, then have your pudding and eat it too... Here

We've had breakfast here the past two Sundays. The wait outside is 15-35 minutes (but one can come earlier to put one's name down). Terrific menu of eggs, French toast, Mexican breakfast specialties and it is all very delicious.

Arrived early and was seated w/about 9 other patrons as it opened on a Wednesday. Went w/the burgundy omelette, greens & wheat toast. Perfect! It was one of those situations when about 2O different things look great on the menu & you're hesitant about narrowing it down. The omelette came out quickly, was hot & didn't disappoint. I washed it down w/apple juice which was far from your can, jar or hug off a grocery store shelf! Awesome service too. Kind and attentive. I polished off the eggs and greens, shoved the plate over and dive right into blueberry pancakes. I actually slowed down to savor their sweetness. Perfectly cooked! Overall I will definitely recommend! And I wouldn't hesitate one moment to head there again.

Located in West Hollywood, Blu Jam Cafe seems to be a breakfast hot spot. Early is better because it's not long before a line begins to form outside. Recently I had the steel cut oatmeal and it was delicious. On a previous visit, I had a tasty made to order omelet. The menu choices are ample. After breakfast, it's an easy stroll to shops along Melrose Avenue, and it's a short drive to either the Beverly Center or The Grove.

I wanted to eat everything on the menu! Highly recommended. Restaurant has small area with outdoor seating. Visited during the week and did not have to wait for a table, but observed a long line when I drove by the following Saturday.

I must say get the French toast and Eggs Benedict for brunch. The coffee press too. Stellar service. Delicious food. Great vibe.

The offer, the quality and the service was very good. specially the servie, very kind and helpful. Meals were awsome. The pity thing is the line to wait...

BluJam is amazing, I refuse to go anywhere else for breakfast. It's simply the best! Crunchy French toast, grilled potatoes & BluJam Benedict are our favorite!!!

I saw the huge que one day whilst shopping, the following day i went to see what all the fuse was about, and i wasn't disappointed. Yes we waited outside but it was a nice day and we got outside seats. Great service and great french toast. Chef kamil is a genius

This cute little restaurant is located amongst a bunch of shops on a not-too-busy road. We stopped here before a day of hiking and covered our table in everything that sounded delicious. My order was a breakfast-style macaroni and cheese, and I got a side of home fries to toss in with it. This was my favorite thing we got. My boyfriend however, he got this crunchy French toast dish that seemed to be on every table. This place was pricier than we thought it would be but we will still be returning.

A weekend breakfast at the Blu Jam in Hollywood (the original location) was relaxing, delicious and fun. There is sidewalk seating plus the inside is divided into two separate rooms. We were seated in the right side room, which gives you spacious seating, low noise, soft jazz and blues and a nice decor. It appeared that the left-hand inside seating area may be a bit more tightly packed and noisy. The “Roma via Paris” scrambled eggs with zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped tomatoes, bell peppers, and both goat cheese and mozzarella is a filling meal. The in-house roasted coffees are great; I definitely recommend the french press specials.

Great staff (very nice people), delicious food, fast service at great prices. Table was ready when we arrived for reservations and the entire meal was enjoyable.

I stumbled along Blu Jam cafe looking for breakfast with a friend, and our brunch began by being manhandled by the hostess, who was rude, abrupt, and unfriendly. We had a wonderfully attentive server, who was very patient with the fact that we both have food allergies and needed to ask a lot of questions about the menu. Well, half the order was prepared poorly and contained ingredients we specifically said we were allergic to. As this was being remedied, or waiter went on a break, and the girl who took over was indifferent, also abrupt, and simply unpleasant. The food, once prepared correctly, was delicious. I went back about two weeks later, and again was welcomed with the same abrupt and indifferent attitude as I encountered the first time. I had a different server than the other two, and while she was hip and beautiful ( the theme of the place) she was not particular kind, nor particularly patient with the food allergy issue. Well, the food was not properly prepared a second time, being garnished with the product that I am allergic to. It was unclear if the main dish had also been prepared with the same product, and after asking the busboy to speak to my server, asking the server twice to please check with the kitchen, observing her assign an inquiry to the kitchen but not handling it herself, seeing that employee enter the kitchen, come out, and go about other business but not communicate to me or the server what was going on, and then my asking someone else and receiving no assistance, I finally asked to speak to management, who ultimately was unhelpful and disinterested in the situation. This took about 15 minutes, while my food was sitting in front of me getting cold. Why the server simply did not walk into the kitchen to discuss it with the chef and come out in 2 minutes I do not know- but that did not happen. I walked out. I wrote the owner, and he did not respond. On Top Chef Masters they say people come for the food, they return for the service. The food has the potential to be great, but if you care about service, don't go. Also, if you have ANY kind of food allergy, DO NOT GO. The kitchen, the servers, the management, and the owner, from my experience of being there two visits in a row, and solely in my opinion, are disinterested and do not take care in what they are preparing or serving.

Monday at 10:00 am we were seated immediately. Had fine service. The wide menu features American and European inspired dishes. We'll be back to explore several more menu items.

Brunch is totally worth the wait. The crunchy french toast is awesome, as are most of the brunch dishes.

Went here for breakfast with my husband and 8 month old daughter while visiting LA and would go back again in a heartbeat! All the food we ordered was on point but the crunchy french toast was the highlight of the meal. I never order french toast because I'm really picky about the flavor that I like but given all the reviews I decided to give this a try and am so glad I did. I've never had anything like it before. .it blew me away. Even my husband, who is not a fan of french toast, gobbled some up. You gotta try it! Service was good. We didn't have to wait at all for a table thankfully as we went on a week day. Given how good the food was, I'm not surprised that it gets busy on weekends.

Loved this place for brunch. I'm from out of town and came here due to the reviews. We ate here on a Friday around 11, and only waited about 15 minutes. My friend and I shared the Crispy French toast and the Rancheros. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. They also have made to order juices, i think my friend got the carrot/apple/ginger.

Other than masturbation, Blu Jam was one the most pleasurable discoveries to date. I wanted everything on the menu. I ultimately chose the "Chef's Special" Cuban pork sandwich...or something similar in description. It did not disappoint, and I'm pretty sure they sent that empty plate back to the kitchen with some ceramic scraped from it. Go here now, damn it!

Their most popular thing seems to be the toast. Service is good and it will be quite a queue from 10-12 so be early to register in line, you can use yelp too to queue. Waiting time is 15 - 20 mins. We order the florentine egg benedict and it is good.

Our food took a really long time to come out around lunch time on a Tuesday, but it was worth the wait. The servers are very nice and there is a huge selection of healthy food to choose from. I had the tofu scramble. There are a couple kinds but I tried the southwestern one. It had a lot of rice, but a lot of tofu too. I would order it again. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. There is a wait usually though to get in.

I've been wanting to try this place out for years and I finally made it. It's a cute little spot for casual dining on Melrose. I ordered Kamil's Breakfast which consist of elbow macaroni and egg and other breakfast stuff in it. It was delicious. I also tried the Crunchy French Toast which is French toast crusted with cereal. A must. The portions were decent and definitely a place worth coming back to.

Great food at a great price. Really liked this place. You can't beat their breakfast menu. I had eggs over easy, French Toast, bacon, juice and coffee. It was all fantastic. George Vreeland Hill

Everything was exquisite from sausages to the bacon to the create your own juice. I had a lovely experience and would definitely recommend. The wait is sometimes a hassle, but it is definitely worth the effort.

This place never disappoints. I take everyone that visits LA to Blu Jam for the infamous crunchy French Toast and their overall flavorful menu of all-around tasty food. The portions are very generous and I often go home with food (and wishing I wore pants with an elastic waistband)...never disappoints (service, food, atmosphere).

On vacation, stopped in for breakfast with my family, wonderful food! I had the oatmeal and fresh apple juice everything was excellent.

Went for an early brunch with my family and ended up stuffed to the max. This place has amazing breakfast dishes and don't forget the famous crunchy French toast to complete a delightful morning out.

The prices here are stupid to be exactl! Th wrench toast was good, not great. I get the same French toast anywhere that makes French toast. The only difference is the vanilla cream they serve with it. There is a risotto dish on the menu that is way worth the visit. It soo good. There's a few other things here worth trying as well. Cool lil spot. Used to be a Carl's junior . The patio is cute and clean . Staff is whatever. The price is really not worth the product at this joint. Go somewhere else.

They had breakfast and lunch items at brunch which i loved. The cobb salad was great. This place has a long wait list on the weekends for brunch so be ready.

Located on trendy 🏙 Melrose Ave in LA Blujam is a great breakfast choice. Parking is metered on the street. Parking 🚘 is harder to find during week but easier on weekends. Pay for parking with credit card 💳 please. To avoid the crowd you can check in via yelp 📲 pro tip: I’d advise watching how many people are ahead of you and not exactly the time (be there sooner than time stamp!) Because of yelp check we walked past the crowd (30-40 min wait). Eclectic crowd 👨🏻👩🏼👩🏼🎤🧕🏼 wonderful energy and great ambiance. Kevin was great making sure we had amazing attentive service. You get a carafe of water infused with mint and lemon slices. All gender 🎖 restrooms are clean👍🏻. (Kudos to the busboys also who cleared our plates quickly.) They are known for their signature French toast 🍽 cereal crumbs and perfectly crispy with diced blueberries, strawberries 🍓 and a side of homemade vanilla bean sauce. I ordered the eggs with potatoes 🥔,toast 🍞 and bacon 🥓! Eggs perfect potatoes diced small and crispy and bacon think and well done! Toast cane with butter and grape jam. Noticed on the table Tabañaro hot sauce, Annie’s organic ketchup, cane sugar, raw sugar and Stevia. All in all 5 out of 5 star ⭐️ experience!

We've been to this place for breakfast several times. In short, everything is very good. Service is very friendly and helpful. Lattes are very good and if you're drinking regular/decaf, the staff is around to freshen your cup. We like the rancheros, california omlet, another egg dish called migas which is a combination of scrambled eggs, jalapeños, spicy chorizo, tortillas....mmm. Their signature dish is the Crunchy French Toast...coated with crumbled corn flakes. I know, it sounds juvenile....but it is really good...and accompanied with their light vanilla sauce, it works!!! The only downside to the place is the price. It seems like everything is a couple of dollars more than you'd pay at another great breakfast place, but as I said, it's very good.

This was an easy walk from where we stayed. I had a California omelet with bacon and it was quite delicious!!! Next day we tried the French toast and I loved that as well. Very busy place but food was quite good!!

It was busy but we were seated and greeted right away. Plenty of gluten friendly options for those like my wife that have an allergy. The food took a while to come out but that was mainly due to a large party that had ordered right ahead of us so it was no big issue. The food was good, not great, but I would certainly eat here again, particularly for breakfast. The only real problem is that it was LOUD in there, but in a tight space with large parties that's bound to happen. Overall a good stop. Oh, and FYI there is a dynamite macaron shop across the hall that is a must for a light dessert!

Knew the place had to be good, given the line waiting to be seated. Food was fresh and delicious. Lots of veg options. They don't serve alcoholic drinks, so if ur looking for that this is not the place. I had a delicious carrot, apple and ginger juice and make your own scramble. Would definitely come back if I'm in LA.

This small restaurant opened up in Sherman Oaks. They always have a line during prime eating times, but if you go for an early lunch you can usually get in. They server breakfast all day. I loved the crispy french toast with the vanilla sauce. Some of the best I have ever had. They have a nice outdoor eating area. If you are in the area you should grab a bite here.

Best cup of coffee I've ever had, a nice change from most American restaurants. Pancakes with blueberries were delicious and so moreish! Perfect for breakfast!

The items on the menu are all worth trying. I had a waffle, others had eggs, oatmeal, etc. Loved the jazz they play, the photos on the wall, the ambiance...fun and friendly. And not intrusive on conversation. Really a must place for breakfast.

You definitely have to go to Blujam to try their crunchy french toast. It is amazing! They also have very good egg options!

Good food... beautiful place... good atmosfer music.... friendly staff.... we eat there for three days and it was great pleasure....

Great Food. Cozy restaurant but come early, it gets crowded very quickly and then the wait is long. The food was hardy and large servings.

A must visit location! But get there early. On the street parking. Small restaurant with excellent food. The ambiance is inviting. The food is wonderful. Large portions, great flavor. It was an adjustment for me having dogs inside the restaurant, but I suppose that is a norm for LA. Our server was great with suggestions. Everything we ordered was served hot. I had an apple/ginger juice that was wonderful. Adding this to my visit again list when in LA.

There was quite a wait for brunch, but once we were seated, the staff were very helpful and friendly, service was quick, and the food was delicious! We visited with a local who recommended their signature French toast, which was delicious. The portions are massive, their fried potatoes were very good. I had scrambled eggs with salmon and I'm pretty sure they used a whole box of eggs. Lovely atmosphere and it was so nice to sit outside in the LA sun.

Love Bluejam for breakfast for brunch. Get here early though, around 10am or else you will most likely have to wait if it is on the weekend. In LA, brunch is a weekly event and BlueJam is the spot to go. The corned beef hash and french toast, order it, you can't go wrong. I've also had the pancakes and the Migos which is also tasty. But the corned beef hash and french toast is where it's at. Whether you're visiting or local, if there is a line, BluJam is on Melrose so theres a lot of shops to walk around or people watch. So time goes by pretty fast. For all you with pooches, not sure what happened but they no longer allow dogs even on the patio, so gotta leave little Fido at home.

Excellent atmosphere. Great service. Excellent food!! Eggs Benedict are recommended!! The place is very nice, quiet with nice jazz playing in the background.

Having read the impressive reviews for Blujam I knew I had to try it. It was a Monday morning and we arrived when it opened at 8am and were seated straight away. Service was prompt and the menu range is broad. I ordered the French toast (their special dish) and it was lovely - enough to share! I couldn't finish it but the waitress gave me a box to take home. My partner had the steak hash which was excellent. Also very filling. Note by 9:30am the cafe was virtually full inside and out. On weekends I can imagine it being even busier, so I would always aim to arrive between 8-9am. We are hoping to return either for breakfast or brunch whilst here in LA.

A great breakfast before the start of a long day ahead. Excellent assortment of dishes and scrumptious indeed. This place was busy indeed and we had to wait for a decent 15 minutes to be seated, as well as considering the weekend crowd the order was slightly delayed, but it was worth the wait. Loved it!

It was late morning, and we still hadn't had breakfast...we had started the morning at a diner whose menu ended up dissapointing, and we only had coffee and left. So, I found thiss place and their menu touted the availabilty of breakfast all day. Off we went. I found free parking on the side street and we put our name in for a :30 wait. A couple doors down was an amazing vintage/second hand clothing store, where we killed most of the time. Having already seen the menu online, I thought I was going to do the chilequiles... but reading through the menu in person, I now desired "one of each"...good thing I was at least focused just on breakfast. After seeing the breakfast quesadilla at the next table- choice made. Chicken, cheese, spinach, onion, jumbo flour tortilla, grilled an topped with fresh cut tomato salsa, half a sliced avocado, and sour cream. Finished with a side of grilled potatoes. Honestly, I could probably have eaten the whole thing (having not eaten breakfast) but thought better of it, and doggie bagged the remaining quarter quesadilla. Wonderful ambiance, and super nice staff...I would have rearranged seating a bit to avoid so much waiter-butt going by...but I'm sure you'd be fine just requesting a wall seat. I eagerly anticipate a return visit, with my daughters, so we can explore the rest of the menu.

Blu Jam Cafe is the best breakfast in town -no doubts. There was a queue, so try and go early, I only had a 20min wait. You have to try the crunchy french toast, it's insanely good. The staff are friendly it's very clean. Definitely go there!

Wandering around Melrose we stumbled on Blu Jam - a busy restaurant was a good sign. Sat outside to take in the Melrose vibe. Great food, good portions, really friendly service. Awesome find and one of the best cafes we went to in LA. Recommended.

We love to try new places but we always end up back here. It gets busy around 9 so get there early and get a seat.

Great breakfasts - crunchy French toast is their signature dish. I had the Rancheros. Great. And they even tried to convert a latte into a flat white for me - just needed a tulip cup!

Had a really delicious and hearty breakfast, many healthy and GF options. Great coffee too, best we had in LA. Friendly staff. So good we went back couple of times

This is hands down my favorite breakfast spot in LA! The food is amazing - It never disappoints. If you're a french toast lover - try the crunchy french toast! It's amazing. On weekends the wait can get pretty long - I think the longest I've waited is about 40 minutes on a Saturday. But it's worth the wait! It gets a bit crowded so it can get loud sometimes but it's never bothered me. Definitely a must try!

Holy Holy this place is yummy! Our group had seven people so I got to try many different dishes and it was completely OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD! The atmosphere of the place was completely perfect for great conversation and connection. The staff was simply AWESOME! Our waitress Megan was THE BEST! I wish we lived here because we'd go all the time! SUPER GREAT EXPERIENCE that you don't want to deprive your taste buds from!

The crunchy French toast is amazing and definitely worth trying. It easily feeds 2. Good coffee. Great service. Get there early!

My review differs from the majority here, it seems. The food was decent - I had the simply eggs scramble, and it was good - coffee and juice, and the bill without tip was $22.12. I guess in LA that constitutes "reasonable price." My waitress was quick to inform me that I was allowed one coffee refill for the price, and though all juices were equally priced, when I asked, on a whim, if I could have half of one and half of another - all in the same glass - I was told yes, but was not informed of an up-charge. (I guess it takes extra time/talent to fill one glass with 2 beverages which I have to assume are located close by in the pantry.) Toast was served lukewarm. This is what Angelenos will line up for. Given Blujam's location, it's probably understandable. There are few breakfast options in this office-oriented area, and the room is large and pleasant, and the menu has a nice variety of options. As a visitor, I categorize my breakfast here as a tourist's experience. If I lived here, would I tackle the infamous LA traffic to make this a destination? No.

Absolutely delicious food, great service, good coffee, huge portions, great variety. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to have breakfast!

The menu at Blu Jam is extensive with nearly everything you could want for a delicious breakfast. I recommend the breakfast quesadilla, Kamil's breakfast and of course the French Toast. The ingredients are top quality and the service good.

Literally the best migas we have EVER had. My husband is Mexican and I make him Migas all the time so did his mom. The migas here are super fresh, are full of flavor, we shared the plate because we wanted to hop around and eat at different places. I could have eaten on plate of migas by myself and i eat like a bird. seriously try their food, their migas, and their coffee. AMAZING FLAVOR!!! Great prices too.

Bring your sun hat and dark glasses. Owing to its location and popularity, the lines at this West Hollywood breakfast spot can stretch down the sidewalk a ways. But patience is advised. Once your party is seated, you'll be glad you stuck it out. The place is easy going, quite friendly, attentive and prompt with its service, and alive with conversation. And the food alone [ huevos rancheros, special scrambles, crunchy french toast ] is enough to bring you back.

If you are the kind of person that likes having breakfast for dinner, this is the place for you. Running errands in the neighborhood, I had to stop at the place that had a line of people waiting for a table that included a recognizable actress (no priority service here). I had their 'signature', which is a crispy french toast, that was truly great, but their menu is very large, as is their drinks. Besides the food itself, it is a great place to get a glimpse of a slice of LA life, and its glitzy, hipstery, egomaniacal lifestyle. I don't think I have ever otherwise hear a little girl ask for a vegan oatmeal with fruit on the side.

The food was excellent. Amazing breakfast. The omelettes were outstanding. I also had their special French toast which was great. I recommend it for breakfast.

Craving pancakes, the boyfriend recommend Blujam to get my fill. Go early as queues form after 9 am (especially on a weekend). We waited only 10 minutes and the friendly hostess sat us at a 3-top in spite of us only being a couple. Our server came by and she was friendly but not the most attentive. She checked in on us only once. We ordered the blueberry pancakes and California omelet (eggs, bacon, tomatoes and avocado) - highly recommend. The omelet came with either potatoes and toast or toast and fruit. Oddly, we couldn't get potatoes and fruit...We settled for only fruit since the carbs came from the fluffy blueberry pancakes. Each entree averaged to about $12 - not too bad and esp since each entree is quite filling. We also ordered a French press of coffee - again, recommend the press esp if you've a large party. Lastly, you must request water. Due to the drought, the restaurant only serves water upon request. All in all, a really solid brunch place as long as you arrive before 9 am and don't mind that potatoes and fruit can't be combined.

My wife and I stopped by here for a very late breakfast on a weekday around 2:30pm. This is a busy place, however we were able to get a spot on the somewhat limited patio dining area. There are around 6 tables, however since it is on the north side of the street you get the sun shining directly on you. This is fine depending of the time of day, however, mid afternoon necessitates a large, unattractive screen to shield diners from the rays. Service was very good. Our server was friendly, knowledgable without any pretentiousness. We placed our orders which were served relatively quickly. The food was delicious. Looking at other diners' selections I think it is safe to say that you can't go wrong with any of the selections on the generous menu. Overall it was a great meal with good service and value. We would definitely eat here again and recommend it to others.

first off, I don't even drink coffee, but I had to order one of the lattes because I was brainwashed by all the yelp pictures. I really just wanted to see the beautiful artwork, so I got the mocha latte and it was on point! Just the right amount of creamy and sweet, without being too bitter. Also tried the French toast and Norwegian benedict, which has smoked salmon on it. Everything was delish, and the service was super friendly. You know its good when there's a wait at 9am on a Sunday. I thought people would still be in bed at that time, but apparently they awaken for blu jam. 5 stars!

Blu Jam was near the top of our must do list for our LA holiday. Due to jet lag we were all awake and starving by 4AM on the first day so we counted down the hours to the 8AM opening time. We were first to the door about 10 minutes before opening and received a lukewarm reception. However, upon opening we were served by Irene, who was very friendly, attentive and efficient. The kids loved the hot chocolate topped with heaps of whipped cream. We all ordered individual plates and one Crunchy French Toast for the table...big mistake because the portions are huge!! I had the breakfast burrito, which was tasty but too large to finish and i was trying to keep some space for the French Toast...which after all the hype was just average.

We lucked out between World Cup matches & had zero wait for a sidewalk table. Service is very thorough, attentive & quick but not rushed!! Had the crunchy French toast & the Norwegian eggs benny. Wow were they both to die for!!!! We actually struggled to decide on an item as everything sounded delicious. That will mean return visits the next time we're in town. Long way from Vancouver bc for breakfast but my mouth is watering just thinking of what to try next. Blu Jam is a must!

Feed the hangry! Blu Jam Café Founder/Executive Chef, Kamil Majer, emigrated from former Czechoslovakia, where he developed his strong passion for the culinary arts at a young age. Upon arriving in Los Angeles in 1983, Kamil started out in kitchens and dining rooms at the famed Century Plaza Hotel, and quickly worked his way up. It wasn’t long before Kamil was chosen to be part of the team tasked with opening The Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Kamil took jobs in several high-end restaurants throughout Los Angeles and Tokyo before opening the original Blu Jam Café on Melrose in 2006. At Blu Jam Café they have no freezers at any of their locations, so everything is fresh and made-to-order. Many of their ingredients are organic. Whenever possible, they source locally from farmer’s markets and ranches. Chef Kamil believes that food does not have to be complicated to be amazing. Simple and good quality ingredients can create stunning dishes, and presentation is paramount to an incredible a dining experience. The LEFAIR Magazine team highly recommends the French toast churros, bites of which are commonly handed out to guests waiting in line at the Melrose location. #FeedTheHangry -Madeline Rosene

We love brunch and did some searching for a delicious brunch in LA. Blu Jam was good, but not great. Everything was quite tasty, but nothing wowed. The place was really busy and we waited about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad for brunch. The server forgot my juice and then charged us for it, but took it off the bill after we told him he never brought it. Walking around Melrose after was kind of fun, there is a great hat store down the street (Goorin Brothers).

I had a delicious custom scramble for breakfast with coffee. I couldn't have been happier with my meal. The service was quick and friendly. Upon being seated you are brought water that has mint and lemon in it - really delicious. I only wish they would have opened sooner before I left as I would have loved to have breakfast there one more time.

I came here on a Friday evening in a group and we were able to get seated still. The service was great. The meat was juicy; the bacon was plentiful.

We came for brunch on our last day in LA. It was a nice walk from our apartment in WeHo and we sat outside in their covered terrace on the pavement. Our waitress was in a bit of a mood and disappeared for most of our meal so we ordered topups from another waitor. The food was very good. We had the Spring Breakfast, Roma to Paris and a Grilled Chicken sandwich. These were lovely, as were the fresh fruit juices. We then had the crunchy french toast special shared between 3 of us. Lovely - make sure you order maple syrup with it!

What a find! Don't miss the crunchy French toast (house speciality), great omelettes and speciality coffee. Funky, hip, healthy choices, great people watching, great vibe and fantastic breakfast! Great service too.

This place is great for breakfast and brunch. It look cozy from the street but there is actually plenty of space inside. Prepare to wait a bit if you are going during weekends. Their crunchy french toast with fresh berries over the top is just amazing. I also highly recommend morning hash. Overall, best breakfast/brunch place on Melrose.

I don’t like to wait...Who does? But, I WILL wait for Blujam Cafe. It is located in the middle of “The Melrose Shop and See” scene and it is always crowded. Even though it is not that small, nor that big...It’s just right! The size, the service, and don’t forget why you are salivating...The Food! I have not found an item on this menu that has left me less than full and smiling in a post food orgasm. Amazing bacon, which says so much, doesn’t it? Whether you get the frickin rad French Toast or the Mexican-Migas, a scramble of authentic sausage and salsa inside cheese eggs, that you wrap with your giant, made-in-house, flour tortilla( my favorite:) and it’s game on! The menu is amazing and it tastes as good, if not better than you imagine. So, you may wait 0-30 minutes, but it really is worth it, if you have the time and want the best! If I drive by and see no line, I almost always pull over and eat my face off.

Visited twice on my LA travels. The food is excellent. The portions are generous, managed to keep me full well into the evening. To top it off the staff and service is amazing.

Although we had to wait for over 30 minutes for a table, it was worth it. I had lox, eggs, and onions. Perfectly done. The potatoes were just right. A strong recommendation!

This place is so popular that there is a long line to get in, especially if you are in a big group. The food was good but its so busy that you have to wait for it, not a good idea if you are in a hurry. Servers are nice. Prices are high, but I guess its due to the area and the popularity. We were visiting our old neighborhood and some people we chatted with recommended we go here. We almost passed it by when we saw the long line but we got seated quickly because we were a twosome.

We arrived early, because we had seen the lines driving by before. Worth it! Really friendly staff. French press coffee, strong! Wonderfully inventive egg dishes. And incredible french toast. We'll be back!

We could've ordered so much more and we still ordered more than we could eat. Everything was delicious. The Steak hash was bursting with flavor. The muscle beach was just what I needed post workout. The French Toast churos were more than delicious. We were very very please. And they had a great selection of tea. Big portions! So yummy! Good Service.

Great spot for breakfast..very creative selection, high quality, and wonderful coffee. Highly recommend this place.

I got the French toast. It was good, not amazing. The place was very busy and rambunctious. Overall it was good but I hesitate on going back because of the wait. It is a place I would go back to but only if I had the half hour of wait time to spare.

you will NOT now or ever be disappointed by this place. First it is a lovely venue decorated in old jazz legends (we ate at the Melrose Av location). Coffee right out in a press - very good strong coffee. The staff is first rate. we had the Maui French Toast and the Brunch Carbonara. both excellent but the Carbonara was beautifully served and absolutely to die for. Highly recommended. 2nd breakfast trip (yes we came back here on our quick LA trip twice) -- had that Italian breakfast and the steak hash. Steak Hash was the clear winner -- steak perfectly done and juicy and the hash..forget about it. Oh and YOU MUST MUST MUST order the French Toast Churros! OMG!! will be your new favorite obsession as they are for us... already planning on a return trip to LA just for this breakfast spot. And now I know where to have breakfast on my next trip to Tokyo -- apparently Blujam opened up in Tokyo recently so great to know!! Thank you for a superb new morning ritual (and thanks now I have to spend extra time at the gym!!!)

Always looking for a robust breakfast, and our hotel offers delicious but rather light fare. Blu Jam came up on my search with very good reviews, and was very close to our lodging. For once, tea drinkers are not persecuted! A very high volume tea press provided 4 of the rather tiny cups (at home I'm prone to a 16 oz. mug with double dark loose leaf tea). Service was excellent and attentive. The food came quickly. a Blue Jam and a Florentine Benedict, both top rank. A second visit, I repeated the BJB, my daughter opted for the Crunchy French Toast, which she pronounced mind boggling (excellent). Volume was very high, the Benedicts and pretty much all the dishes could be split. Otherwise plan on nothing to a salad for lunch.

Had a great family brunch for my son's birthday. We were a party of four and the hostess correctly estimated a 35 minute wait. I had the steak hash which is probably one of the best brunch dishes that I have ever had. Delicious steak with 2 poached eggs over finely diced potatoes. Would definitely order it again. Son one had the "Muscle Beach" 6 egg white omelet with ground turkey and truly enjoyed it. Service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and got our order out to us correctly. Definitely worth another visit

Went mid-week for breakfast so the restaurant wasn't too busy. The service was attentive and our drinks and meals came quickly. The portions are great for the price and so delicious! My partner tried the Roma Via Paris which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had the spicy tex mex tofu hash which was very filling and delicious. My partner later ordered the crunchy french toast as we had read that this was a must, and he said it was the best thing ever. Would highly recommend for a breakfast to keep you going all day.

Mandatory stop when Im in LA! Crunchy French Toast - a must to share! Muscle beach and Morning Hash was great! The breakfast tender steak is amazing! Great vibe.

SO good. Everything is delish but get the crispy French toast. it's to die for. Huevos Rancheros are also a fave. Their fresh juices are made to order too. Try Kamil's favorite.

I had their French Toast and it is unusual - baked after dipped in corn flakes. A thin crust and the toast as soft as a cloud. Just amazing. The other items - eggs of various types, sandwiches - all of them looked fresh and great. Be aware, there's always a wait!

It's located along the main road of the Melrose; you won't missing it if you are going during weekends....crowded. The quality of the food is good. We ordered the sandwiches, bagels, eggs etc. Well, my family loved this place. The staffs are friendly and nice; helpful too. ** Weekends are full of people....so, if you are a tourist, plan and come during weekdays.

My friends and I visited Blu Jam for breakfast on our last day in LA, and we're delighted we did. The wait was a little long (about 30 minutes) but it went fast. They do not accept reservations so we had to walk up to the host area to give our name, and then we waited for a table. Once they called our party they took us to a small inside waiting area which es about odd because it seemed like they took us from the outside line just to wait inside, but it was pretty minor as we only waited an additional 5 minutes or so. There was also refreshing basil-infused water to sip on while we waited inside. Once we were seated our server attended to us right away and was attentive and available throughout our time there. The salmon hash was utterly divine and the French press coffee was robust and flavorful. They have really cute rustic-looking bathrooms too! The fact that there was a line nearly down the block was a great sign when we pulled up and it was definitely worth the wait. Their portion sizes are huge, however, so be prepared to take some of the delicious goodness home in a box.

Very good choice for a brunch in holiday. The toast is a must-try and the coffee is a surprise. Bad things: 1. always have to wait; 2. parking

We we're visiting LA to see a show at the Wiltern. We decided to travel a few miles north to the Blujam Cafe. Arriving before 10 was good because we only had a 25 min wait as we left I am sure the wait was an hour. Crunchy French toast was perfection!

The food is excellent. The omelettes is outstanding. I also had their special French toast which was great. The setting area is very casual I recommend it for breakfast

This is a great brunch place. However, don't expect to just walk in because there is always a wait, especially on the weekend. However, worth the wait.

Went here for brunch and it was the best French toast I've ever had. Will definitely go here again when I'm in the LA area.

Great French Toast. Crunchy and melted in my mouth delicious! Friendly people everyone has a smile on their face. Would recommend.

I had breakfast here after reading great reviews about it. Had scrambles eggs with potato on the side, it was good, and tried their crunchy toast, it was really good, however, I expected it to be better.

Location was great! Food was good but pricey. It had a nice vibe to it! Would definitely eat here again.

Guess we're just not big fans of sitting shoulder to shoulder with other people while we're eating breakfast. We found this place on Yelp and do to the high reviews we thought we'd give it a try. Food was okay. Personally we find Denny's to be better. The staff was nice enough. Just not a place we would try again.

This is a busy little restaurant right on Melrose. Seems to be a spot that lots of celebrities like, there was a famous baseball player there (I don't watch baseball) but he was getting pictures taken with some families. The food is amazing. I got the Blu Jam salad, which was amazing. Sodas are bottled, not fountain which adds to the atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend this little stop!

Our first time at the BluJam Cafe.We ordered the chilequiles along with the Hawaiian Crunchy French Toast. Both orders were yummy. The chilequiles are addicting.Friendly helpful servers, hostess . I'll be back!

This place doesn’t need another review from me. They already have tons of reputation and clout. I was there for a late morning breakfast and enjoyed their specialty Steak Hash Breakfast… grilled beef tenderloin chopped and sautéed with organic baby spinach, caramelized onions, gorgonzola, grilled potatoes, mushrooms, topped with two poached eggs, herb-chive hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. Funky, fun atmosphere and good service. I don’t know that I would go out of my way to eat there, but if you are in the area shopping, this is a great choice.

This restaurant has a reputation of being one of the best in the LA area, so we had to try it out. Thankfully we arrived early enough that we were seated right away. The restaurant really gives you a hip/chic LA kind of vibe. Tea presses, unique menu options. I had their infamous crunchy french toast, which was perfectly done. Our server was great and helpful at suggesting menu options for us. I checked in here on Foursquare and their head chef tweeted me to thank me for our visit! Definitely a personal touch to make you feel like your business is appreciated. By the time we were leaving, it was lined up down the block... so try to get here early, but if you don't, it's still worth the wait.

Not crowded when we got there at 9:00 on a weekday but filled up around 10:00. The food was great and the service was good. Huge omelets. Seemed like lots of locals there.

I discovered Blujam 2 months ago and I have been there 7 times in fact I am there now! Unbelievable French Press coffee-special bean-best I've ever had. Really amazing food-several types of french toast, crazy good egg dishes and salads and lunches. Do NOT miss the fried diced herb seasoned potatoes!!!!!OMG!!! Only downside is there is always a wait but they have a cool staff and a comfortable place to wait for your seat. Believe me,it is worth it!! Incredible place.

Despite the long wait, totally recommended. Friendly service, really good food, good value for money.

I really enjoyed the wide range of items on the menu, it wasn't too crowded. I ordered a traditional benedict which I rarely do as I am usually disappointed in the hollandaise sauce. This restaurant did not disappoint, the hollandaise was almost made perfectly...maybe a little more lemon..but it was made with real buttter and eggs unlike most restaurants. I loved the tiny little cubed breakfast potatoes with lots of crunchy edges and the salmon and eggs was also delicious.

This breakfast all day place was nearby our accommodations and we were in desperate need of a substantial late breakfast after an extremely late airport arrival the night before. On a Thursday morning at about 10:30 AM the place was hopping but we were immediately seated at a table for four. The breakfast selections go well beyond the standard fare, with many imaginative Mexican preparations. Coffee was excellent with unlimited refills. One of us ordered tea which was of excellent loose leaf tea served in a French press pot. When nearly empty, this was replaced with a fresh pot without even asking. Highly recommended but we are told that there are no reservations and waits can be long on weekends.

On weekends and public holidays they have queues going down the block and I wholeheartedly understand why. I went on holiday to Los Angeles and ended up eating breakfast here as often as I possibly could, it was a short walk from where we were staying, but has plentiful street parking if needed, and well the food is absolutely stunning with service that matches it,

This restaurant only takes one visit to make me a lifetime customer. I do go somewhere else for brunch, but only when I do not have the time to wait in the line for up to an hour. Yes, there is ALWAYS a line unless you arrive there at 8 a.m.. However, you don’t have to stand there while waiting. After signing up your name and getting your estimated waiting time from the staff, you can walk around on Melrose and just remember to come back before time. Believe me, even though there are so many other choices on Melrose without a long line, Blu Jam is still worth waiting. Every first time eaters are here for the same thing— crunchy french toast!!! It’s not necessary French but absolutely crunchy! That smell of grilled egg and batter, agreeable crunchiness of corn flakes and freshness of berries…Just that every ingredient come to reach a balance once in your mouth! To enjoy the fullest flavor of this dish, pour the vanilla bean sauce evenly on the perfectly grilled toast and finish it fast, or corn flakes will go soft. I recommend to have this dish for share because it could be a little sweet greasy if you finish the plate by yourself.

We loved Blu Jam Cafe and wish we had a second opportunity to enjoy it during our visit. Our waitress was amazingly friendly and helpful with suggestions. My 12 year old son and husband both had the BJC Ginger Shot (fresh squeezed ginger juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice and cayenne pepper) and loved it! Highly recommend trying it! The crunchy french toast was delish as was the Migas (Scrambled eggs, jalapenos, chipotle, ground beef chorizo sausage, red bell peppers, tortilla chips, mozzarella, pico de gallo, GMO free corn tortillas, grilled potatoes) and the Brunch Carbonara (Arborio rice, smoked bacon, green peas, parsley, parmesan, poached eggs, herb pistou).

Kamel is an excellent chef and wonderful person, He prepare all his food with love and attention to detail an quality. Great coffe and breakfast choices. His goulash is out of this world. I am so pleased he is building a restaurant empire in Los Angeles that fits most budgets and palates.

This place gets very busy which is a good recommendation in itself. There is a huge selection of breakfasts to choose from and we all agreed that the food was a very high standard. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Once seated service is quick and efficient. Definitely worth the wait.

Was in area on business. walked along Ventura and found the blu jam. At noon on a tuesday I almost had to wait for a table. The place was hopping. Staff was super friendly with the staff helping each other out, which i appreciate when you can ask any waiter for something just nit yours and they are happy to help. My lunch was great. would have gone back nx day but i like to try as many different places as i can when i travel.
Great Food and Service
Three of us went for breakfast and all the food was delicious. Eggs Benedict, French toast and chilaquiles (which can be tough to find) were all very well prepared. Service was very attentive and friendly. We'll go back the next time we're in town.
