If you're looking for upscale fine dining with a classy atmosphere in Austin, you should definitely visit Bob's. I was there alone for an industry conference last October and had dinner reservations there with some colleagues. Service is elegant, timely and attentive. We were asked if a special occasion was being celebrated as soon as we arrived. We were seated directly at a smartly appointed table where are orders were taken as soon as we were ready without feeling rushed. They have a full bar with an extensive and quality wine list and a good variety of beers. I started off with the smoked salmon platter that was excellent with REAL smoked flavor. The chardonnay I had without that was recommended by our server paired perfectly The I then had the prime filet, which I always order well done and this one was through and through WITHOUT being charred. The cab, also recommended by our server, I had with the steak was superb. The meal ended with their great cheese cake and a Grande Marnier. This is first rate food with great service in a wonderful atmosphere. Not to be missed when visiting Austin.

Had the filet, which was cooked to perfection, lobster tail, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and this odd HUGE carrot that was cooked with cinnamon. Very crunchy, no really cooked enough. Bread was very good. Didn't care for carrot cake. It would be better if it had frosting instead of whipped cream.

Very much in the spirit of the original(s) Bob's in Dallas, this is nice building and tremendous steakhouse. Steaks are outstanding, ambiance is good, and the service was wonderful. We had a really nice birthday dinner before a concert at ACL Live. A bonus at this location is the cool rooftop bar, which was slammed when we were there.

Great steaks. All of the food was great (salads, potatoes, steaks, etc). Would definitely go back. It's pricey, but great for special occasions.

Always a great place for a good steak! I always make it point to have a meal here every time I visit Austin. They have a great rooftop bar for those that don’t want to drink indoors! Reservations required!!!

Great location and downtown Austin atmosphere. The food was tasty from start to finish. The cocktails & wine were refreshing. The service was on point and friendly.

By far the best best filet mignon I have ever tasted! Wedge Salad, creamed corn (again the best), and brownie dessert makes a delicious evening. The staff was incredible and extremely friendly. They were very helpful and made you feel as though you were the only table in the restaurant. It was also a pleasure meeting and visiting with Darryl the manager.

One of the best steakhouse dining experiences. Staff know their product and the chefs grill meat to perfection. Great wine pairing with great baked bread and awesome smash potatoes... great active vibe.

I't wasn't "one of the best" as their to go sack said, but THE BEST!!! Wonderful atmosphere. I always eat filet, but this was a prime filet. NOW I know the difference.

So this place has many faces in their facade and cuisine. At time high end steakhouse and other times it's not meeting expectations. Outside looks like a old school steakhouse with nothing special but the entrance has moxi. The downstairs dining and bar area looks classy but the upstairs patio reminds me of a Aruba beach bar that's ripping off tourists. Food wise I'm confused again. It has a simple steakhouse menu but they try too hard. Bob'a bacon and cotton candy, why???! The bacon is good but too salty and the cotton candy condenses and gets way too hard, adding nothing to this dish. Steak is good but the skillet potatoes remind me of TGI Friday's. Just straight confused with this place!!

I was by myself on business and it seems that if you dine alone the service is not always great. It was the same here. The food was good but the service left something to be desired . I do not know if it is because they feel they are not going to get a large enough tip or that they feel the smaller order is not financially worth it. The service disappointed. The food was okay but when you are thinking about the lack of service it distracts from the meal.

Te sides were extra delicious, especially the "cream corn brulee". My filet was good, but I would not say it was anything special. They don't seem to add anything to the meat before cooking (like some salt or pepper or anything) so I felt the meat selections (which is why one goes here) were nothing you couldn't have grilled at your own home. The night we were there, we sat near a table of 10, which was 5 adults and 5 kids<10yo. I have no clue why anyone would bring a kid here (and pay these prices for an 8yo to eat). Kids were bored and restless (parents could have cared less) and it changed the atmosphere of the place from a "grown-up" dinner to a feeling more like a Ponderosa.

We came to Austin because we heard they have great live music - which they do - and we're told we had to try the Mexican food and Barbecue. We did try a Mexican place out and it was ok. The next night we went in search of a barbecue place and decided we would bypass because we really don't like barbecue. We came upon Bob's and we were so excited because we had eaten at a Bob's in Nashville and had LOVED it. We were seated right away and the service was AMAZING! Heather went over the top to make sure we enjoyed our meal - and she was so sweet and made sure to give us suggestions on fun spots to try while in Austin. Thank you Heather for taking good care of us! By the way - the food was great too - ha!

Have been to Bob's on two occasions for our "date night" out. The ambiance, food and service are "top shelf". The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. Great wine list.

Decided to watch the bats and as a result we had no dinner reservations. We walked to Bob's and there were no tables available for over another hour. We lucked out and got seats at he bar. The first question asked by the bartender was , " do you want bread ". Then they asked for a drink order. The bread was one huge yeast roll and the drinks were perfect. Bob's is noted for their steaks , but we enjoyed their chilean sea bass and shrimp scampi. They have a very good wine list. Cocktails are expertly prepared, service is what you would want it to be, timed perfectly and not pushy.and the food was very good. Next time in town, we will be back.

Late Dinner on Friday Night. We should have made reservations but did not. So we ate upstairs outside. It was cool but there were infrared heaters. It was quite comfortable. The drinks were all good. Liked the bread. Nice Boule with excellent crust. The butter was a nice finishing touch to the bread. The appetizers, shrimp and skewers of beef, were excellent. Three plates of food, two steaks and Salmon were all prepared exactly as ordered. All very tasty. The sides, broccoli and spinach with mushrooms were very good. Two desserts, Cheesecake and Cream Brule were excellent. The service had a couple of minor issues but overall was OK. The cost for the drinks, meal with appetizers and dessert was $300 plus tip. We parked at the parking garage AMLI I think at Lavaca and 3rd. The parking worked well, it was very close.

Bob’s was great and I definitely recommend it. The steak it top quality and always cooked correctly. Their salads are great is well and dimly lit nice atmosphere.

This is your basic very expensive, business-meal-oriented steakhouse. The food was good bit not special and our waiter was attentive. I did have a negative experience with a glass of wine. I tasted the wine, noted that it tasted as if it had gone bad from being opened for too many days or.simply from going bad in the bottle. The waiter then spoke with the sommelier and soon returned with a taste of wine in another glass. I tasted that wine and told the waiter it tasted just like the first wine and the waiter then told me it was the first wine in a new glass. I felt a bit insulted with that treatment and that they were trying to trick me. The waiter then asked if I would like a glass of similar wine from the same vineyard and I said that would be fine. The next wine was not spoiled and was what I expected. I assumed they would just charge me for the first wine given that the first one was spoiled and they never returned with the winelist after their substitution suggestion. Later, my colleague told me they upcharged us by about 50 percent for the second wine. He did not complain but did tell me he adjusted the tip downward accordingly!

We made a reservation on a fFriday night for a party of 6 but showed up with a party of 9 hoping they could still accommodate us. The hostess was SO friendly and helpful she had us at a table within 10 min. of our reservation time even though the place was packed. With a group this big it sometimes is a struggle to get good service from the wait staff but we did. We all had different entrees varying from the filet medallions to a filet mignon to the tomahawk to the crab cakes to fried lobster and all were very good. Everyone enjoyed the brussel sprouts side dish even if they are not normally a fan of them. They are the best I have ever had. We had people from Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan and Wisconsin and we all loved this place. It is a bit pricey but well worth it.

Had a delicious meal at Bob's Steak and Chop House - thoroughly enjoyed a filet mignon and baked onion, calamari. The freshly made bread is also delicious. The restaurant is a little on the expensive side but worth it for the service, location. Recommended.

Walked without a reservation but seated immediately at the bar. My server/bartender Karina/ Karla was very polite while making sure to offer me any items or dishes that could enhance my experience with full knowledge of the restaurant. Great service and environment all around.

Delicious food, good portions and great service. Steak and fried Shrimp with a baked potato was the perfect meal at Bob's! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

My Family of 4 all had different dishes from filet mignon, shrimp scampi, salmon and mac & cheese. None of us thought the food was very good. Filet was well down and hard and mac & cheese was so sour no one could eat it. Service was top notch, but way over priced for the food quality.

This restaurant was a disappointment and we will not be returning. Food: we both had the small filet. My husband's was noticeably larger than mine. The exterior of the filet was HEAVILY (and I do mean HEAVILY) salted, to the point that that the outside was inedible. Even my husband, who is not as sensitive to salt, trimmed the exterior off his meat to eat it. The lobster bisque was very good; the jumbo shrimp cocktail had too much horseradish, but I appreciated having my sinuses cleared out. I thought the Thousand Island dressing tasted more like Russian or Catalina dressing. Wine: the restaurant advertised a special on a Caymus wine. We were excited to order it because the price was excellent. After ordering, we were told that they had sold out. It put a damper on the meal. The offered substitute, a Duckhorn cab, was okay but it wasn't the Caymus. Service: while the waitress was pleasant, it took a long time for her to come to our table after our arrival, and the time between the first wine order and the second was at least ten to fifteen minutes. I also noted the managers lurking in the walkway, but neither came over to check on things. We would have asked about the saltiness. In addition, when my husband made the reservation, he noted that it was a birthday dinner (for both of us that week), and there was no acknowledgement by the restaurant. Website: the website is very deceiving. I saw escargot as an appetizer but it was not offered at this location. Again, a disappointment. A standardized menu for all locations would solve this problem. Comparing this restaurant to two other recent visits to Fleming's and Ruth's Chris, Bob's food and service falls surprisingly short.

My wife and I shared the best "bone-in" KC Strip that we have ever enjoyed. The steak was huge. The manager, Darryl Wittle, is a longtime acquaintance and in addition to the excellent steak, the overall experience makes this our favorite steakhouse.

Had a Ribeye bone-in which sounded good; but what came was a bad cut of meat. Expected better for Texas Excellent sides and salad saved the meal.

Great local atmosphere, very good service. I ordered a pork chop and a good local beer to pair. Highly recommend.

Spent my father's 82nd birthday here. It is a nice experience. They gave him a birthday card and an enormous piece of chocolate cake. We started with the bacon wrapped shrimp. They were huge. My father and I both ordered 9oz filets. I got the mashed potatoes and he got the skillet fried potatoes. My husband got the 14oz New York strip steak with the bake potato. Then there is the famous carrots. They are very sweet. Our plates were extremely warm. I feel like our steaks were still cooking on the plates. I ordered medium and mine was more medium well. The exterior was a bit too salty for my taste. My husband stated his was a bit over cooked for his taste as well. Craig was our server and he was nice. Valet is $10. A nice experience. I wish the steak was a bit better.

Excellent Happy Hour menu. Visited the rooftop bar. Troy our server and bartender when beyond to share some great ideas for things to do in Austin. We will go back to try the treats on specials. Old school steakhouse.

We had 3 excellent meals. Veal Chop and 1 8 oz and 1 16 oz fillet. They were all prepared to perfection. We had several appetizers. The one order, scallops, was the best scallops have ever had. The waiter was excellent and you can tell he had excellent experience serving food in a in high end steak restaurants. The support staff was out going and also professional. The decor was nice.

The only all-Prime steakhouse in Austin, Bob's offers the best quality products in a classic American steakhouse setting. Award winning wine list, excellent cocktail offerings, and an extensive whiskey and scotch selection. The servers are knowledgeable, the right blend of professional and friendly, and make exceptional recommendations. With so many steak destinations in Austin, Bob's manages to stand out by offering the best products in the best format. Whether you're a seabass fanatic, or a red-meat lover in search of a prime Tomahawk, Bob's will provide you with an unforgettable dining experience. 5/5

By far the most steak selections I have ever seen on a menu, prepared every which way you could ever want. Delicious food, exceptional service and ambiance.

I take clients to Bob's Steak & Chophouse once a month. It has everything one could ask for-Great food, extensive wine list and fantastic service.

Always a must at Bob's, the lobster bisque and the fillet oscar. Service was spectacular as always, the appetizers of crab cakes and the lobster bisque were amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the family sides were more than our group of 10 could handle.

I recently hosted a business meeting for 16 on a busy Friday night. The service and food could not have been better. Great wine list too! Nick who handled the wine and our overall evening was great! Great steaks! I will definitely return on my next visit to Austin.

Everything was good except the steak. I was a guest, as part of a group, during my visit, or else I would have demanded a new steak or my money back. My steak, a filet, was as dry, tough, and tasteless as a piece of cardboard. Note that everyone at my table asked for steak sauce of some kind as soon as they bit into their steak, which is not a good sign. The vegetables were good, as was the wine and the service, but that is not why one goes to an expensive steakhouse. The steaks were awful. After the meal, when I asked others at my table how their steaks were, every one - about 5 or 6 people - said the same thing. The steaks were cheap, tough, and no one finished them, whether they were filets or ribeyes. One of the other guests confided in me that he'd had bad steaks here before. You might go for the rooftop happy hour or something, but don't buy steaks here.

I am a fan of Bob's and have eaten at his restaurants in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin many times! They are consistence with their service, quality, and atmosphere regardless which one you eat at. If you are in Austin I highly recommend this restaurant. See you Friday night!!!!

I ordered the 12 oz Filet Mignon and had to bring half to work for lunch today. The skillet fried potatoes with peppercorn gravy was amazing as well. To make it even that much better, I had them grill some jalapenos to eat with it, O...M...G...! We went for a friend's birthday so we got the brownie, and 7 people shared it, heaven for the mouth. After dinner we even hung out at the roof top bar to enjoy the air.

Let me start by saying I don't leave negative reviews or reviews in general. (Please look at my profile) This experience was bad enough that I had to leave a review. I'm 45 and I live in downtown Austin. Sadly, we have very few high-end steak houses here, Bob's Steak & Chop (a chain) is one of them. Just know that if you decide to eat at the bar your meal will be f-ed. I don't know why there is this resistance to writing down the f-ing order on a notepad but they don't. Nobody is going to shame a waiter for using a pen to make sure your order is correct....but ok I guess you have a photographic memory while in a chaotic environment. My steak was horribly undercooked without the crab floater and had to be sent back. It came back still undercooked but I just ate it based on my low self-esteem I guess. Even my drink order which was tequila soda and lime was f-ed. I guess the guy thought I said Tequila, Soda, and an s-load of Lime juice...I just drank it. Look...I could understand if this was New Year's Eve and I'm trying to order off-menu exotic stuff but this is standard stuff. What's really sad is I still tipped 10% just because... I hate to say it but go eat at Vince Young Steak House. Even with an NFL wash-out name restaurant the food and service are better...

Very upscale steakhouse in downtown Austin. I wasn't all that impressed with the primerib I ordered. It was overdone, and fatty, and for the price I would have expected better.

I was invited to a dinner at Bob's with a client and didn't know what to expect. What I found was perfectly aged, premium cuts of beef cooked to perfection. I have steak maybe twice a year. I'm not much of a meat eater in general, so when I decide I'm having some it better be awesome. Bob's did not disappoint. I had the 14 oz Ribeye and it was delicious. My colleague had the filet and was of the same opinion. All the sides were very well done and the wine list was solid (but the Merlot we had was just okay...would have preferred a nice Cab Sav instead). Be sure to visit Bob's. It's a standout in the crowded steakhouse crowd in Austin.

Our Morgan Stanley group of 10 had dinner on February 7. It was really nice. My date ordered lobster and I had the fillet. Our food was perfectly cooked and served hot. My steak was so tender it could be cut with a fork. Service was professional and friendly. Our waiter frequently checked to insure our meal was perfect. Reservations highly recommended. Friendly open seating in the restaurant. Valet parking is available. We will return for our next steak night

I took a friend (Austin native) - who has never been here before. I tried the filet and lobster combo (lobster fried per the recommendation from the waiter). Coupled that with the pan fried potatoes and gravy.. great combo! Of course, all good meals begin with a Tito's martini in Austin.. and I liked the pickles that they have thoughtfully placed in a jar on the table. The bread loaf that came next was mouth watering. To finish things off, we shared a gigantic slice of their signature dessert, carrot cake - and washed it all down with an Irish Coffee.

The food was amazing. We had our company Christmas dinner here and I totally recommend it. Everything we ordered taste yummy. Everyone at the table raved about the appetizers and their entrees. We were way too stuffed to enjoy desert unfortunately. The drinks were yummy. It got back to the owner that there were veterans at the table and he brought us over complimentary cigars. It was awesome table service and awesome customer service across the board. I can’t wait to go back..

Awesome food, sit on the deck for a great view of downtown, I had the fillet and mushrooms, we also had the thick strip of bacon for an appetizer along with bacon wrapped lobster tails!

Recently visited with several others. Everyone loved this place. My husband had the tomahawk steak -- he's still talking about it. I had the filet oscar style -- yum. Service and meal was fantastic.

I have been wanting to try Bod's for a while now and finally had the opportunity to do so with my son and daughter-in-law. It was worth the wait! Their bone-in filet was 2md to none, and their choice of fine premium bourbons was notable. I wish I could remember the name of our waiter, because he too deserves recognition. After dining, I would highly recommend you partake in an after dinner drink on their roof top lounge overlooking parts of downtown Austin. Very Impressed!

I took my husband here for his birthday dinner celebration. It was our first time here and the staff seated us in a quiet corner which we appreciated. Our filet steaks as well as the other sides were perfect and then they provided us with a complimentary birthday dessert as well. Nice place; excellent service!

In a world of chain steakhouse boredom Bob's is a Texas gem. From the pickles and boule to th creambrule does not disappoint. The value continues with the included sides. Great wine list and excellent service.

Come hungry, and bring your checkbook. Our server, Griffin, had many thoughtful touches throughout the night. One example: at the end of our meal, he offered to call our valet car to have it ready for our departure. The lighting was dark enough to be a reprieve from the hot & sunny day yet still light enough to clearly read the menu and see our food. I gladly recommend this to whoever wants a special night out.

We enjoyed everything, from our scallops appetizer, to the steaks and the excellent service. Will certainly return next time we are in Austin.

We were told to go here by another bar owner while on vacation as it was a busy sat night and although we had no reservation we only had to wait 20 mins for a table the food was amazing both of us agreed the steaks were the best we've ever tasted at 50 bucks a pop it should be sides we're Also great the carrot was amazing just a shame we live 4000 miles away

Appetizer: Jumbo Shrimp wrapped in bacon grilled - amazing! Entree: Bone in strip steak medium rare with a side of smashed potatoes - incredible! If you are downtown Austin, Bob's is a top notch steakhouse that will not disappoint.

Husband got the rack of lamb, excellent . I got the steak & lobster, which was very good. I ordered the chef special which was fried lobster, it was good but next I'd order the lobster steamed or boiled. I think the fried lobster was to much. Very nice atmosphere and service was excellent. Your dinner came with several potato selection and a large carrot, all were extremely good.

Our waiter helped me out with gluten free options. Went with the fried bacon wrapped shrimp, stuffed with cheese and jalapeno for starters, rib eye, baked potato and sides of broccoli and sauteed mushrooms. All cooked to perfection and tasted amazing.

Better than average steakhouse with high quality meat cooked perfectly. Drinks were good too. Disappointments were the sides- particularly bad was the “house special” potatoes, and the salads (basic and below average). Service was good. Would return with knowledge of what to avoid.

Having only one evening on the town, my friends and I looked forward to a delicious steak dinner in an Austin, Texas steakhouse. Selecting Bob's was a huge mistake as our steaks were terrible. Although the steaks (filet mignon and ribeye) were cooked to our specifications, they were so chewy and tough. Plus a side of asparagus was simply unremarkable and achingly plain. Furthermore, our waiter blew off my concern about the toughness of my steak. I ultimately had to talk to him again in order to make an adjustment to compensate for the poor quality of the meat. We were totally disappointed that we lost our special evening to Bob's.

We were ten (!) friends and family gathering in Austin for a wedding and the hotel concierge recommended Bob's - it was an excellent suggestion. We had salmon, salads, sides and the steaks - the steaks were absolutely fabulous - prime cuts, some had the ribeye, others had the Kansas style. The smashed potatoes were delicious (and huge portions!), the bread warm from the oven, the sides were splendid, and an appetizer that was worth noting, the calamari, were just exquisite! Tender beyond belief, so juicy and tasty we didn't need the dipping sauce - Our waiter was Brian, assisted by Alvin - both men were solicitous, engaging, fun, and really attentive. The whole meal was a true dining pleasure. We would highly recommend Bob's for fine dining in Austin, especially if you want a full steakhouse experience without the stuffy dinner jackets and old boys.

Downtown Austin steakhouse with the old style look & feel of rich, dark wood. Great bar & extensive wine list. Started with a Texas-size wedge salad & then a fantastic ribeye & shareable sides (grilled asparagus was my favorite).

I came here one Christmas eve years ago when my now ex wife announced to me she wanted a divorce. I was seriously depressed. But the male waiter (can't remember his name) who was my server that night was a gentleman, kind and seemed to know how I felt. We had a nice conversation and I had an awesome dinner that night. I never got a chance to tell him thank you for making my Christmas eve better.

We chose this steakhouse as it was walking distance from where we were staying & so happy we did. The lamb lollipops with blue cheese are to die for. Not something I’d of normally ordered but the owner stopped by our table to say hi & recommended them as a starter. Jimmy the owner was super friendly even went as far as showing us photos of his family on the slopes last weekend as that’s something we share in common. Our mains were fillets with lobster tails & again not disappointed, cooked perfectly, tender & full of flavour. Big Dan our engaging waiter was full of stories for us & even brought out a special treat for me for my birthday. Thanks again Dan, Jimmy & Bob’s Steak & Chip House

Me and a group of friends who are all from the United Kingdom visited Bob’s Steak & Chop Shop in Dallas, Texas in October 2018 after travelling throughout many different cities in the United States as well as many different restaurants. The level of customer service we received from the staff at Bob’s Steak & Chop Shop was impeccable and above anything we had ever experienced before. We personally met the owner Jimmy who happened to spend most parts of his evening with ourselves who we found to be a true gentleman and a top guy who could not do enough for our party. He made us feel very special and like VIP guests. The food was exceptional and we would all highly recommend anybody who is considering visiting this restaurant to go as you will not be disappointed. We hope to return again one day we can’t thank you enough as this memory will stay with us for a long time.

I was on a business trip and was looking for a nice steak dinner and selected Bob's based on it's excellent review. It did not disappoint. My steak was over-cooked. I had an in-depth discussion with the bar tender taking my order on what color I wanted it (red-to-pink), so I was surprised when it came back far over what I requested (fully grey throughout). They immediately took responsibility, and offered to re-fire a new one for me. I actually declined - I didn't want to waste the steak they made - but the manager insisted ("Nothing would make me happier than to get you a new steak, sir."). I accepted. The replacement steak was perfect and very delicious. As was the glazed carrot and skillet fried potatoes topped with sautéed onions and peppercorn gravy. Here's the kicker. When I went to pay, the bar tender said I owed nothing. I was taken aback and told him they didn't have to do that. However, they insisted that the steak was on the house. I left the bar tender a tip commensurate with the price of the meal, but was absolutely blown away with what the restaurant did for me. Talk about being a fan for life. Great food. Unbelievable service. Thank you Bob's Steak and Chop House. I'll be sure to return next time I'm in town.

YUM! Wonderful steaks, fish and terrific wine selection. Service was amazing. The only problem is that's it's cold here so bring a sweater!

After being told about this restaurant by someone at the hotel, we walked over around 5PM and they had an open table on the patio. From the initial interaction with the host until the final interaction with our server the service was 5 stars plus. We chose to only have drinks and lite bites, however, everything we tried was amazing. The outdoor patio was a nice change of pace including a dedicated bar. I look forward to going back in the future and enjoying a complete meal.

Don't get to Texas to visit my son too often so we choose Bob's to celebrate downtown. A musician friend joined us and we all ordered steaks (rib eyes and a NY strip. All were cooked to our preferences and were delicious. The waiter was a bit to ""programmed" in his remarks but did a good job.

We enjoyed a delicious multi course dinner in one of Bob’s lovely dining rooms during prime time on a busy Saturday night. With 3 couples at a comfortable round table , we were pleasantly able to talk with each other despite the room being full. The background music was enjoyable and just loud enough to be heard without drowning out table conversation. The staff was well experienced and offered great service but never felt intrusive. The food was spectacular ... seafood as well as steaks. The wine list was superb. The cheesecake is a necessity ! Already looking forward to a return visit !

Of the Bob's steak houses that I have tried, the one in Austin was the best. Took family of 8 there and it was great. Prime steaks cooked to perfection. Wine, spirits were up to par! What can I say, it was that good.

Excellent experience. Went for drinks and cigars with a colleague. Told upstairs outdoor patio was closed, but William Lundgren said he would take care of us upstairs. While i did not have dinner this time, I have before and steaks are great. Upstairs and by ourselves, William checked on us every 15 minutes, filled water and ran back and forth to bar downstairs to make sure we were never empty. He went above and beyond. They could have easily stopped when they said upstairs was closed, but didn’t. Even turned on misters for us. Thank you and I’ll be back!

Nice atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff to help with pairing wine with dinner selections. Steak was amazing.

I arrived after late on a Saturday, after the K State football game. The staff greeted us like we were celebrities. The manager came to our table and ensured we were taken care of. Israel was our server, and he is a total professional and an example for other servers. The food was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Our dinner simply could not have been better. Steaks were perfectly cooked and the salmon was beautiful. I travel a lot, and eat in all the high-end steak houses. When I visit Austin, Bob's is where I will be going.

We enjoyed our meal at Bob's. It's in a cool location downtown Austin near lots of bars and shops. Pickles on the table was an interesting touch. Nice atmosphere. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious with proper portions. The bread was my weakness as it was the best! My husband, whom rarely loves steak he didn't cook, gave his Bone-in Kansas City Strip a thumbs up!!! Wow, that hardly ever happens! Even though the dress code is Business Casual, there were customers in shorts.... but in the Texas heat in August, I can understand that allowance on an early weekday evening. Pricey though, so be prepared. They also have standard Valet Parking.

James was our waiter. Spectacular, food was incredible, service was impeccable, and our foursome was very happy. Don't go here to penny pinch, a lot of Austin eateries that can fit the bill better in that category. Go to Bobs Chop House to get the best. I had the bone in KC Strip and it was second to none. Kudos, once again Bobs!

A group of 8 of us went for dinner. The waiter recommended a "rare magnum" of Californian wine that wasn't on the wine list, as it would provide 8 glasses. At no point, until asked, did he tell us that the price of his recommended wine was $1,700. Luckily one of us did ask, so we avoided a very unpleasant end to the meal when the bill arrived. It's such a shame as the meal was very nice and other than this one very bad issue, service was good. I can't recommend any restaurant that seems to try and trick is customers into ordering something that expensive without clearly explaining the cost

This is not your typical chain steakhouse. Super service, melt in your mouth steaks - yes; but the feel is truly throwback. Dark paneling; jar of pickles on the table; entree comes with potato and a HUGE carrot. Then they bring the potato caddy; i.e. the thing that has the sour cream, cheese, chives and ACTUAL bacon in it. Minor drawbacks - under the booth was a mess of spilled food (apparently previous occupant has been kids who didn't like brussel sprouts), the chopped tomato, onion and fresh mozzarella salad was tiny and arrived without onions (go for the beefsteak tomato and onion).

Not often that something other than the service gets me to drop points from a review. Our server was able to accommodate our large party (13) with minimal hiccups, even split our complex orders into the correct tabs, so kudos to him. The restaurant it self had issues, starting with the lack of bread, which friends who had been here previously raved about. I get that the location requires certain price expectations, but with that come quality expectations which this kitchen failed to meet. Every dish that came to our table was over salted, to the point where a couple of us couldn't finish our meal. We obviously could have complained, but sending every single dish back would have been plain evil. Hopefully the kitchen does better with smaller tables, but I doubt we will be back to find out.

Yum yum yum.... can’t go wrong with this experience in fine steak dinning. Make your reservations early and bring you wallet.

It's a steakhouse...get a steak! I had the special filet medallions Oscar style. Literally made me do a happy dance. Prepared to perfection. Also ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer, delicious - not the best I've had but I would order again. I had the smashed potatoes with my steak, these were fine but not over the top....think fluffy mashed potatoes. Think I would order the skillet potatoes next to time. Dessert: tried the key lime pie and bread pudding. Get The Bread Pudding...it made me a fan. One friend ordered the chocolate cake; it's HUGE! Portions are decent size in general. I had leftover entree and dessert.

Well where do you start with such a great place? Right out of the chutes was a friendly reception staff, the history of the American and Texas flags was a real make you feel at home feature. We were sat down with reservation is the best way to ensure smooth sailing. The complimentary bread was uh-maxing! The house made pickles, yeah house made! Fabulous! We ordered some appetizers that will blow your mind they are so good! We had the stuffed jumbo shrimp, carpaccio and it was freaking awesome. We had the Brussel sprouts skillet potatoes and the 22 oz bone in Ribeye cooked to perfection! Big Dan was our waiter and he was the icing on the cake for my wife and I! I say if you are questioning going, just do it! Go today!!

First time diners at Bob’s. Friendly and professional reception and service. Expensive menu overall. We ordered Duck and Beef Filet; each came with a large carrot that was far from cooked. The filet was good. The Duck was medium rare, when medium was requested. Smashed potatoes were good. We had mixed green salad, spinach salad and lobster bisque, which were good. Strawberry cheesecake was brought home. The prices outweigh the taste. We will not return to Bob’s.

Reported to be the best steak house in Austin. Certainly lived up to that title. All beef on the menu is prime; all salad dressings home made and their preparation is superb. Nice selection of sides especially the lobster Mac and cheese. Great service with in depth knowledge of the menu and wine selection. Comfortable setting and great for a business dinner. Ideally located I highly recommend that when you are looking for great steak in Austin this is a must. Try the Pittsburg char on any of the steaks.

The food is prepared correctly, the servers are helpful, the portions are more than fair and it is an extremely pleasant, warm and friendly atmosphere. Bob's strikes me as a place that tries to do the traditional dishes correctly---they are not trying to recreate the wheel---they want you to feel that if you order a specific dish, it will be exactly what you were hoping for. The servers are very attentive to your order---making suggestions and always trying to find a way to assure that guests understand all the options available to them. The desserts are huge, so come prepared to eat.

Bobs is very good for what you would go for a steakhouse for. Good drinks, good food and great apps.

That is how we all felt when we walked out into the cold January night. The food was spectacular. Try the Lamb Lollipops, you will be delighted. All of our beef entrees were exquisite...I forgot the delicious lobster bisque. We asked Basil, our excellent server, for chocolate covered strawberries for dessert and they custom made some for us, yummy! We had two bottles of wine, a pinot noir followed by a cabernet sauvignon recommended by Nick...one of a kind sommelier! Fun and knowledgeable, helpful and easy to work with... We will definitely return, sooner rather than later.

Best steak EVER! Bob's has so many choices for steak, seafood and wine! You cannot go wrong with the wedge salad to start that has the biggest piece of bacon I've ever seen - and it was just as delicious! You may not want to eat anything before so you can have room to sample everyone's dinner! Bob's isn't to be missed!

The steaks were incredible and the service was outstanding. One of the best - if not the best - steak house in Austin. Don't miss it.

Fantastic atmosphere in BOB’S, always busy and buzzing when we visit. Although a steak restaurant which all my meat eating colleagues said was sensational I had the fish cakes which were fantastic. Great service we will be back next year for sure. Thank you so Much.

Bob's is definitely our favorite steakhouse in Austin, and we have tried a number of them. Consistently excellent service and the BEST creamed spinach I've ever tasted. Generously poured cocktails add to the good vibe. Overall, a good value, especially when you consider that your entree is served with a side and that huge delicious carrot and the gratis pickles. I'm a big fan of their romaine salad with blue cheese, eggs and chopped pecans. Can't wait to return.

Ate dinner with a business group. We did not have reservations and the staff did a great job of arranging a table for us without any fuss, despite being busy that night. Service continued to be excellent all night. The menu is typical for a high-end American steak house, ad knowing that all dishes were well prepare. Portion sizes are generous - perhaps even too large, and a few smaller star options would be welcome addition.

we had to slit into 2 tables as there were no accommodations for 10 people at one table available. The servers were different and the timing and service attention level was enormously disappointing seeing as the cost was a couple clicks above a typical streak joint. Should have gone back to Stiles BBQ

Having grown up in Omaha, Nebraska I know what good Prime beef means. But living in sunny beach weather South Carolina I can't find it so I eat Prime seafood! I looked forward to trying Texas beef. I was super pleased with Bob's 28 oz Prime Porterhouse steak my husband and I shared! Oh my gosh from walking in the door to presentation superb friendly service. The food delicious. Stuffed shrimp appetizer yummy! Steak cooked perfect sliced so we could share and seasoning so good. Garlic mashed potatoes and a delicious signature carrot I believe it had a hint of sweetness and ginger. I found Prime steak in Texas at Bob's wish I could take them home to South Carolina!

Everything at Bob's is always perfection..from service to food. It's my favorite place to come for a perfectly cooked filet and bleu cheese stuffed olives in a dirty vodka martini!

This fairly new restaurant in its own building at the Omni Resort Hotel at Barton Creek is first rate in every aspect. The service is impeccable, the food couldn't be more gourmet steak and seafood wise, and the atmosphere reeks of class. It's easy to get to, and has valet parking. We've celebrated two birthdays and someone going away to college. Everything was perfect

Having had a great dinner there previously, I attempted to purchase a gift certificate on-line for our son's birthday but due to issues not related to the restaurant, I was not able to do so. Salvador “Sal” Olivas, General Manager, learned of my dilemma and told me that he would personally create and deliver the gift card to our son in Austin on his birthday. Needless to say, our son and myself were very impressed with Sal making customer service a reality BTW, the food is also great at the restaurant. I highly recommend that you go to this restaurant for dinner.

Family reunion of 8 on Christmas eve. Top shelf service and food as expected from TA reviews. Because a beef was roasting at home for Christmas day, most of the eight ordered other than steak or chops.Helpings were amples. The shrimp scampi, salmon, and dick entrees were outstanding . Each also had lots of veggies. Drinks were well tailored for the diverse diner's inclinations. Most other diners seemed to use the valet parking, but we found the garage across the street largely empty on Christmas Eve.

My wife dined here during our stay in Austin and everything was perfect. All the beef is USDA prime. We ordered the 28 oz porterhouse medium rare, cut family style to share. The steak arrived cut away from the bone with 2 hot plates and it was cooked perfectly, tender, with great flavor. Our sides were the smashed potato and their signature carrot. Again excellent. We also enjoyed the traditional Bob's pickles which are always on the table. Service was exceptional with our waiters Christopher and Craig. He was friendly and very professional. We had zero negatives about the food, service and atmosphere!!

My husband and I went here for his birthday a few weeks ago. We weren't too impressed with the food or the staff. Both were fine, but not what I was hoping for based on the cost. We shared a steak dinner. The steak was tender and cooked how we liked it. It came with fried potatoes, carrots, and we ordered an extra side of brussels sprouts. None of the side items are worth writing about. There were also housemade pickles, which neither of us cared for. But the housemade bread was delicious! Our waiter cleared our table promptly (too promptly most of the time) and served us our first plate of food. Maybe I'm just not used to the "high life", but I really don't need someone serving me like I'm helpless. The bread was the best part of the evening, followed by a really great dessert. Because it was his birthday, they gave us a free dessert of our choice! We chose the chocolate peanut butter brownie and it was delicious. My only regret is that I didn't know we were going to get the dessert, so we filled up on the mediocre sides and were only able to finish about half of the dessert. It was fairly dark in the dining area, so keep that in mind if you have trouble seeing in dim lighting situations. The waiter carried a flashlight, which was helpful but a little obnoxious in the darkness of the room. The noise-level was low, which was nice.

Best steak I’ve ever had. The jalapeño creamed corn brûlée was amazing! Service was top notch. Can’t say enough about the place. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had.

Bobs is the best! The food was scrumptious and high quality. We were worried when we showed up because it was a full house on a Wednesday. We had a reservation, but the hostess was unable to give an approximate wait time. It was off putting, but another staff member quickly assured us our table would be available shortly and offered an appetizer as a consolation. It really wasn't much of a wait or inconvenience and my fiance's birthday dinner turned out to be a wonderful experience including our waitress who gave us great recommendations. We really enjoyed the brussel sprouts and of course the filet. We will return!

Claim to fame are pickles on the table when you sit down, and uber large carrots with your Steak. Steaks are prime as you would expect at a high end steak house. Service is fantastic. Real butter, warm bread. Unmeasured pours. Happening bar. All the other high end side dishes available (cream corn, asparagus, stuffed baked, cream spinach), and the Beefsteak and Red Onion salad is giant and delicious. Try it if you have already tried Perry's or Flemings. They also have rooftop seating with misters (up an elevator or stairs).

Fantastic dinner. Love the bacon appetizer. I went with a great strip steak and a ceaser salad. Servi e was spot on. Highly recommend

I could go on and on about how wonderful the food is here. I personally am not won over by how good the food is, good food is not that hard. Service on the other hand, providing a dinning experience, you had me at we want you here. This is fabulous service at an affordable price. Try the bloody mary, it is so good. Also try the pickles, they will just bring you some and they are not your Mamma's pickles. I have never had anything like them and you will either love them or hate them cuz they are so distinct. Even if you hate pickles you should try these. They also have all the beverage. This is in my top five of where to eat in Austin. Even on your own they treat you like you should be treated.

This is my favorite steakhouse in Austin. The waitstaff is always great. Food is perfectly prepared. My favorite spot in the house is the rooftop. It has great views of downtown and sunsets. The creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes are great. When it's cool, they have enclosures and heaters on the roof. Awesome place!

We had a great time at Bob’s. We were part of a group of 9 and we shared several appetizers - all were very good. My wife and I tried steaks. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection. Big carrot was very good and something you don’t find elsewhere. Side dishes all were what you expect from a great steak house. Desserts were excellent as well. We shared several. Service was top notch!

Worst ribeye I’ve ever had at a so called upscale Steak restaurant. I’ve been buying, cooking and consuming ribeyes for 45 years and if that steak I was served at Bob’s was prime then I’m next in line for a space walk. Most over priced steak for the quality I’ve ever had, small, thin, blackened and tasteless, I’ve had better ribeye steaks at roadside $12.99 enchilada/steak lunch specials. The atmosphere is good, the service was impeccable, the staff was excellent. The sides were good. The steaks were an absolute disappointment.

steaks by every size, delicious bread, and a very unique atmosphere. But be warned be hungry when you go here - the food is really great and you dont want to let them down.

When you think of a traditional fine dinning steak house, that is what you get at Bobs. The service was amazing (my child ordered a chocolate milk, which the Restauraunt did not have, so he ran across the street and purchased one). Steaks were cooked to perfection, and the carrot was a nice treat. We brought our kids, and even though there is no kids menu, they went out of their way to make it work for them, and made them feel special with attention and service. Kudos to the entire staff there!

Visited with a corporate event and ordered the 16oz filet. It was huge! Creamed corn was amazing. Atmosphere and service was very good. Steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly. Would absolutely make an effort to visit.

Bob's Steak and Chop house delivers the goods. Craft cocktails are great! Great wine selection ... the Black Chicken Zin from Biale Vineyards in Napa is a rare find on a wine list, worth every penny. The crab cake and wedge salads fit the bill as appetizers, both were deelish! We indulged with the 28 oz Waygu Tomahawk steak... sublime, especially with the crab oscar topping. The sauteed mushrooms paired perfectly with the steak. Key lime pie finished off the meal, and is easily one of the best in ATX.

We preferred to have dinner on the rooftop bar with a more relaxed atmosphere. The food was very good but a bit ordinary.

Bob's offers very fine food, friendly staff and a great warm, classy atmosphere. Have been here for non-profit events, date night and corporate dinners- all experiences first class.

All prime steaks are prepared to order. The service is absolutely phenomenal--- the water glass was always full. The wine list is extensive. Both appetizer and dessert portions are huge so be prepared to share.

My party of 18 really enjoyed the diverse menu and the dining experience in the Mexico Room. I appreciated the recommendation to order bacon wrapped shrimp with the calamari soon after the group's seating. The large menu offered delicious options for everybody, but steak was the favored selection. So many compliments were shared after the group dinner.

I recently attended a business dinner at Bob's. Everything was perfection from beginning to end. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly! The shrimp appetizer was delicious and the shrimp were HUGE! Salad and sides were fresh and delicious. Portions were large! The service was incredible. This was a large dinner in a private room and I did not hear one person say a single negative thing about their meal. Everyone was pleased and that is hard to do with a diverse crowd. I would highly recommend Bob's and would definitely return if I get to Austin again.

I have had a number of meals at Bob's and always enjoy what I order. I have started roasting my own carrots to try and match what you receive at Bob's

Bob's is a very popular place. It was a Tuesday night, 7 pm and it was packed. Was in a larger group and the service was excellent. Steaks were tasty. We ordered a variety of apps and the brussel so were a huge hit. Just in Austin for two nights I thought that it was a tad pricey. Small filet was $46. Most side dishes were$9 and up. Unsure I would visit again given the price but did enjoy the meal.

We had a 5:30 Friday night reservation since we booked last minute. Four of us were ushered into a quiet back room booth that was perfect for couple’s conversations. My friend Laurie and I went the appetizer route and each ordered the same 2 items — bacon-wrapped shrimp (slight filing of cheese and sliced jalapeño) and the sriracha tenderloin skewers. Cooked to perfection, you can specify the cook on the meat. My husband enjoyed the lamb and Laurie’s husband had KC strip. We shared delicious mushrooms and the onion rings. Dessert was key lime pie and creme brûlée. The 5 glasses of Pinot came to $110, quite pricey. Overall meal tab $410 with tip. Worth it? Not really, we prefer 3 Forks since they offer oysters in addition to the steak plus HH pricing before 6:30.

Really enjoyed dinner here. We sat outside on the rooftop terrace near the outdoor bar. Lots of people in and out mingling. The food was very good. My steak was cooked perfectly. There were a couple of people smoking cigars on the deck, which was not the best given the smoke blowing around. That said, the staff was perfect and took very good care of us. I also had a drink downstairs in the inside bar, which was very nice. The bartenders were very courteous. Very upscale look to the downstairs area.

Brought a few clients to Bob's for dinner and conversation. We were seated at a round table in a quiet section of the restaurant which made for great conversation. We were taken care of by Big Dan. A great guy with a great personality who served our country in the military. The fried lobster was a great start. All of us had the bone-in ribeye and everyone loved it. We had asparagus, brussels sprouts and creamed corn for sides. I would return and recommend.

High quality food and service in an otherwise relaxed atmosphere. You know when the bread and butter offered at seating is exceptional you are in for a treat. Also, their pickles are devine. Originally found this group in Grapevine. Very intimate and you never know which celebrities or sports stars you may see.

This is a steakhouse through & through. Having said that i had the shrimp, which were nice. However, the pasta it was served with was very bland and overcooked. I should've had a steak, as my dinner mates enjoyed their meals. The steak portions, in my opinion, are too large. The 9 oz filet was the smallest cut of meat they had.

Wow, that Prime “Cote De Boeuf” Bone in Ribeye was amazing!! 🔥😋 My buddies who I was with loved their T-Bone and New York Strip Steak. I went here for a bachelor party steak dinner. The service was great! The manager greeted us since heard we were there for a special bachelor party dinner. Everyone loved their steaks! I had the skillet fried potatoes with peppercorn gravy which was tasty. My buddy had the Mac and cheese which was awesome! That was the favorite side dish of the meal for the group. It had truffle in it. The old fashion cocktails were delicious! The crab cake was good but very small and expensive. We had the lobster appetizer which was deep fried lobster bites with a great dipping sauce. It was delicious! By far the best appetizer! The pickles were delicious too! They were very fresh!

We had a large business dinner and it went great. The planning was made easy for us and the event was fantastic. Food and service was top notch. Go for the filet, it was awesome. I had the lamb and everyone but me loved it me but I tasted the filet and was wishing I ordered that! The atmosphere was dark and not my favorite but the roof top was a great place to hang out for a drink or to eat dinner.

I am not a big fan of Bob's or Steakhouses but the rooftop bar at Bob's on Lavaca in Austin is awesome! Great vibe and views. You can eat up there barside if you want. My hubby loves Bobs so this was a great compromise! Highly recommend for happy hour or dinners before dinner!

My young daughter went there with a group and her steak was raw. I tried to email the manager and got no response. Server never asked about how the steaks turned out. She was given a raw steak and I have attached the photo. Too many steak places in Austin to settle for Bob's Outback Steakhouse.

If you want to meet over load that will send you into a coma bob’s is the place. Portions are not small the price is not small but I’ll guarantee you You walk away with a doggy bag

My daughter recommended that we dine at Bob’s and ask to be seated on the upper deck. Both suggestions were perfect. It was a beautiful night in Austin, Texas and the company was completely relaxed in the wonderful atmosphere created by the staff. Our dishes ranged from lobster bisque to creme brûlée. The steaks were perfect as were the wines, salads and other sides. What a perfect night.

Bob’s was great and I definitely recommend it. The steak it top quality and always cooked correctly. Their salads are great is well and has a dimly lit nice atmosphere.

We are here with a group attending a conference and our guide recommended this steakhouse. Food is good and the steak is tender, chocolate cake was great and huge!

Was invited to a private dinner here. It was nice to have a private room for around a dozen people . The waiters were very solicitous and attentive. I had the ribeye and was not disappointed. Great food and wine all around.

I don’t know what the guy from NYC was talking about I have eaten steaks in Nebraska, Chicago, and NYC this meal was great Texas can hang with steaks from up north the Fried Lobster was amazing. The steak was fantastic and cooked perfectly, lobster Mac and cheese was great. The whole experience was awesome!!!

Had a business dinner at Bob's. Started with wonderful lollipop lamb chops, shrimp and other delights. Sat down for dinner to find a seafood delight on the table, consisting of shrimp, lobster tails, crab claws, and oysters. Had a choice of a 22 oz. Kansas City or a 15 oz. filet with lobster tails. Plate was garnished with a whole cooked carrot and garlic mashed potatoes. Overall, everything was prepared to perfection. Just wish I could have finished it all. And, being from out of town, didn't have access to a refrigerator or microwave in my room, so, I packed up the leftovers and gave them to a homeless person on the way back to the hotel. Hope he enjoyed as much as I did !

Arrogant, conceited and bad service. A total ZERO disappointment Recommendable ! In addition to the poor service and arrogance of the staff, they tell you that the credit card terminal does NOT work and demand that you pay in cash or sign a credit card authorization to make the charge later. It is incredible that in Texas, the capital of the state and a restaurant that is considered excellent and where they offer cuts of meat for 60usd, does not serve the Terminal! In addition to being arrogant and lacking in customer service, they are inept! Don't waste your money!1 Don't visit it! Bad experience

As upscale steakhouses go, Bob's was pretty average. The best thing we ate was the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer (never a good sign when the first thing you eat in a meal is the best). As a whole the steaks were underwhelming and my rib-eye for example was probably a lower than Outback quality. Look elsewhere in Austin for a high end steak.

We went here on a business trip and this place came recommended by the hotel. I ordered the 18oz ribeye and a loaded baked potato. I started with a half-wedge salad as well. Everything was delicious and very filling. Our table ordered the mushrooms and brussel sprouts for sides and both were very good. Overall this place can be a little expensive but well worth it! I highly recommend!!

Being an out of towner local team Made the reservation since it was close to my hotel; W. Took out 4 other coworkers to a business dinner on a Monday night. Food was good, service was good, wine prices were NYC. End of the night the bill was $1100 no big deal for NYC but I think big for Austin but not for this place. I give this place a C+.

On a crowded Friday night, a group of us had an excellent experience at Bob's. The service was impeccable, appetizers were excellent, the drinks were spectacular and our entrees - from seafood to the different cuts of beef - were out of this world. Bob's in Austin is unbelievably good.

The atmosphere is dark and heavy wood typical of a steak house. Service was good nothing special. The ribeye was fantastic but the side were a little disappointing. The potatoes seemed maybe a little old with caramelized onions and a thick somewhat flavorful sauce. All and all I think it's over priced for what you get.

If you want the throwback experience of an old time, big city steak house, come to Bob’s. Waiters dressed up and attentive, bartenders in vests, decor of dark wood, white linen - this is place is classic. Better yet, the food was excellent. Get the ribeye. Perfectly cooked and served on a very hot plate to keep it warm. This is not a cheap night out, but it was really good.

Beautiful location, great food and the wait staff couldn't have been better. We had an array of appetizers that included fried lobster, lamp lollipops and a few other items. We also had wedge salad, mashed potatoes, prime rib, asparagus and a few other items I didn't have room for but others were raving. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

We ate here on 7 January and it was reasonably busy but we walked in without a reservation. Our server was Austin (not difficult to remember...) and he looked after us really well - polite, informed and keen to help. We both had steak - the New York strip and the T-Bone and both were a triumph. We also shared the Wedge salad and the creamed spinach, as well as a decent bottle of Riesling. I have no idea how guests have room for dessert as we could not have contemplated any more food. Everything we had we enjoyed - and the pace of the service, in particular, was top notch. This was our most expensive meal in Boston but we enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to others.

Bobs hosted our annual Christmas dinner. We had about 70 people in a private room. The service, food and wine was all excellent. They had many servers standing by to wait on our party. The meals were all delivered at about the same time, so no tables or individuals were sitting waiting. We had an excellent time and highly recommend Bobs !

We enjoyed a great Christmas Eve dinner party with family and friends, all of whom were more than pleased with entrees and excellent drinks. Rack of lamb was delicious as were steaks, potatoes, and chopped salads. Would have rated Bob's excellent, but only two plates of bread were brought to table for our rather large party. A request for further servings was very slow on this very busy night. Look forward to dining here again in a less hectic environment.

I asked my host to take us to the best steak in town and off we went to Bobs. Cozy, dark and upscale, we were led to a comfy booth. As I was reading the menu, I noticed they had a signature side added to every plate....a CARROT! It was a large whole carrot cooked to perfection with a slight sweet taste of what? Maple syrup? With a touch of cinnamon? Whatever, it was delicious and you know it had to be healthy too! I choose an 8 ounce filet, exactly how I like it medium rare (warm pink) and so tender I could have used my fork to cut. I had a baked potato with the fixings and a side of mushrooms enough for both of us with leftovers. The salad was equally delicious with unique dressings offered. And you know I'm going to take home any scrap of food not consumed! We finished off a bottle of Malbec and went home completely stuffed. The leftovers were enough for the next night's dinner! We dropped a few hundred but man, meals like this are totally worth it! On a Tuesday night we were lucky enough to get a table as a walk-in but I do suggest reservations. It's in the heart of downtown Austin and an after dinner stroll was welcome. I was such a pig but I couldn't help myself! When in Austin as a carnivore, this is where you need to graze folks!!!

Out for a business dinner at Bob's. The service was impeccable! Everyone was very attentive. My glass never got very low. The meal started with one of Bob's mom's pickles. The pickles were okay but weren't very flavorful. They needed more spice, dill. I had an excellent glass of Riesling. The Cesar salad, with extra anchovies was really good. I ordered the rib eye, Brussels sprouts and the cream corn. The steak was medium and cooked to perfection. The Brussels sprouts with the hint of Basalmic vinegar was excellent. The cream style corn had good flavor but needed to be thickened more to be classic Southern cream style corn. We were too full to order dessert but our server provided us a scoop of Amy's Mexican vanilla bean ice cream. It was the BEST vanilla ice cream I've ever had. You must try it! I can only imagine Amy's other flavors. If you are in Austin you should check out Bob's. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I decided to try Bobs Steakhouse for the first timeValentine’s Day....which is my birthday and our wedding anniversary! The service was excellent...The food was very good! My husbands ribeye steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection! My lobster tail was delicious! Price was about the same as the other Steakhouse in downtown Austin Perry”s Steakhouse, Flemings, lll Forks, etc... We would definitely come back again!

We made our first trek to Bob's. Steak is not a food group we go for on dates but will go with others. The primary reason is the steak houses are stuck in the '70's, or maybe '80's as to the decor, menu, etc. Our favorite remains Capital Grill due to their live jazz and layout after getting up on the main level - but Bob's can be our close second now if we must go out to a local steakhouse. First, the rooftop bar is somewhat compact but very comfortable otherwise. The servers are terrific and the bartenders acceptable. It is a nice place to enjoy the last vestiges of sunlight before descending into the dark labyrinth for dinner. The restaurant staff is very friendly and well coordinated so kudos to the boss. The steaks and fish were well prepared and tasty. The salads and desserts were nice, too. Their big deal is to stick a brown sugar carrot on every plate. The plating is not artistic but functional. The wine list is OK and compared to some competition it's better. We thought the prices were higher than average but again we are not big fans of steak houses anywhere due to pricing, food style and heaviness. Again, if you have to go for a steak in Austin, this is one of the top 2 to us. But if more seafood options are needed, there are multiple seafood places here that offer fine steaks, too.

Sometimes you just need a good steak. Bob's fits the bill well with a great selection for carnivores. A few non steak options as well, great wine list and the chocolate brownie with ice cream was superb...

The place has its issues. It has a page or page and a half of tequilas but has a very substandard beer listing in its drink menu. Hire a cicerone to make you a better beer list. The food is very good. All of the steaks and sides were well prepared and cooked as ordered. Service was also good.

I had some of the appetizers that were very good. The location and service are good and upstairs patio gets packed fast when the weather is nice.

I was in town for business and a group of 10 of us were there. They staff was very helpful and attentive. More importantly, the food was delicious! My steak (ribeye) was cooked to perfection. It was soft and buttery and I didn't need to do anything to it but eat it. No salt, no pepper and definitely no sauce! I don't even think you can get steak sauce at this place, but you certainly wouldn't need it. The sides were great and done well. The atmosphere looks fairly upscale, but there was no enforced dress code that I could see. They have a rooftop bar that looked pretty awesome. It was crowded up there so I stayed at the one inside. The bartenders were fast, accurate and friendly. I didn't hear any complaints about anything from our group. The price is what you would expect to pay for the quality you get. I would recommend this place and would return if I were ever back in Austin.

What a disappointing evening! There were six family members celebrating three birthdays. Since Bob’s is a reputable steak house, we all expected the type of experience usually experienced in a high end steak establishment. We started our evening with either a salad or appetizer for each person. We ordered our main course at the same time as our salads. When the salads were delivered to the table, our daughter’s salad was not what she ordered. It took over 30 minutes for the correct salad to be delivered to the table. It was over an hour from the time of our order for the steaks to be served. None of them were prepared correctly! My husband ordered his steak blue. It arrived medium rare. Our daughter, our grandson, and I ordered our steaks medium rare. They all arrived medium! Our daughter ordered iced tea and was never offered a refill. The crab that she ordered to accompany her steak was not very good.

Bobs never fails to impress! Their bone in filet was tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared to medium rare. They load the baked potato old school style, and their salads and sides(creamed spinach in particular) are tremendous complements. Others at the table raved about the ribeye and strip, and their wines are reasonably priced!

I went to Bob's to celebrate my recent engagement and I could not have been happier with the experience. Everything from the service to the meal was top notch. Our server Elliot, made our experience memorable. We will definitely go to Bob's again and again and again.

I live in Dallas near the original Bob's. Was in Austin for a conference and it came down to where we would go for dinner -- Bob's in Austin? Carrots? Great steaks? Why not. Austin Bob's did not disappoint.

Great rooftop bar with fabulous service and yummy appetizers. Loved the shrimp appetizer with remoulade sauce. Great drinks! Enjoy!!

We had a great dinner here last night for my son's birthday. This is the third time he has wanted to come here to celebrate his birthday. The drinks are classic and delicious. The salads we all had were cold and crisp and tasty. My husband and I had seafood, he the Amberjack which was the special which he said was delicious and I had their awesome crab cake appetizer for my entree as I was full from the salad too. The cracbcake was done perfectly with lots of crab and not so much stuffing. Our son and his girlfriend both had steaks, the Tbone and the Filet and both were cooked perfectly and come with their signature huge glazed carrot and out of this world "smashed potatoes. They brought him a complimentary decadent chocolate dessert for us all to share along with a signed birthday card from their staff. Our waiter Enrique was very friendly and attentive and made our special evening very enjoyable. We will be back again! We love sitting up on their rooftop bar area but it was too windy this time. The food is not cheap but for a special night out it is worth it.

Food and service were top notch. Like any top end steakhouse, you get what you pay for. Wine prices were on the high side to say the least.

Service was impeccable. Onion ring tower is enormous and cocktails expertly made. Excellent steak, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Excellent steak house. Was there this evening celebrating a friends 80th birthday. Server Erika perfect. I had a prime rib eye, my wife had filet and birthday girl had salmon. All served perfectly with awesome side dishes. Carrots, brussel sprouts and sauté mushrooms. Awesome wine list. Must try if in Austin.

The steaks served here are large with wonderful flavor. Our server was very informative and helpful with making our selections. One word of caution would be the serving sizes are quite large and you might want to consider sharing an entree especially if you are a light eater. We shared the salad but each ordered an entree and took home the remaining portion. It was just as delicious the next day!

We went to Bob's last week for a quiet dinner. We've not been there in some years. The rib eye was a good cut, but not cooked as requested, which happens too often in general, so it is hardly a huge fault for Bob's. The accompanying carrot was well cooked and, if you like carrots you'd have been pleased. Carrots are not big in my eating plan, but YMMV. An okay steak house.

I want to thank the management for providing outstanding customer service and for hiring fabulous employees! If you are looking for a great dinning experience I highly recommend Bobs! The rooftop bar is one of the best in Austin. The staff is always polite and professional. The steaks are outstanding. I live across the street from Bob’s and when I want a great steak meal, this is always my go to. It never disappoints me, and I always leave satisfied and full! I lost my phone, and they were most accommodating in helping me find it. If you are looking for an excellent restaurant, Bob’s is a must on your Austin food experience! Thank you again management for providing outstanding service! I really value and appreciate all of you to make this restaurant so fantastic!

unremarkable meat and after 3 tries still not cooked properly. Potato side was inedible. Waiter thought my companions cocktail was water and refilled it as though it was. (Carrot wasn't bad -ha)
Upscale but well priced
We stopped in about 10 minutes before closing (10pm) and sat that the bar. We ordered a steak to split, which arrived quickly. The bar staff was very courteous despite being busy with closing activities. We didn't feel rushed at all. For a nice restaurant, the steak wasn't overpriced. There wasn't a fantastic by the glass red wine selection, but the glass we ordered was very good.
