Execellent

We arrived in Dallas to go to a conference, but our hotel room was not ready. Someone in the hotel suggested going to Bob's until our rom was ready. Food and service was great.

Average

I know this is a Dallas steakhouse tradition, and a good place to dine for business dinners. In fact, my husband dines here quite often with colleagues. I would not return, however. The food is on par with a small town steakhouse. Nothing special.

Always Good Food and Service

By macnjac89 |

Wife and I were in no hurry and the service provider (Javier) gave us plenty of time to enjoy our conversation and order at our leisure. Once we did - another impressive delivery by Bob's - wife's fillet was great as was my veal chop. Always enjoy the large carrot and potato that is included - not ala carte. Will be back!

Good Steaks - Old Fashioned Ambiance

By ramonjamon |

I was transported into another world when we walked into Bob's. The hotel had recommended this location over the one downtown and I'm glad they did. It's full of ambiance; a throwback to what steakhouses looked like in the 1960. Drinks were good, the steak was great and service was excellent. The only thing I did not care for was their house potatoes with gravy. This place doesn't make me forget Pappas Brothers or Vic and Anthony's, but its a welcome alternative when you want something a little more homey.

One of the true traditional steakhouses anywhere.

If you long for a real dining experience and prime steak, this is your place. From the front door greeting to the last bite of desert it doesn’t get any better. Prime filets, NY Strip, wedge salad, carrot cake and premium coffee. This combined with old fashioned, but professional service. You leave satisfied, happy, and glad you came.

Great atmosphere to let our hair down after 2 days of gruelling work

By Vincent R |

A group of us headed to Bob's for dinner last week and were very well looked after in spite of arriving in sub-teams of 4s and 6s - we were taken to the private dinning area at the back and had excellent meat.

Good steak house.

By Marshall B |

Pretty good but my wife did develop severe stomach problems in the night? The only thing we has different was the brussel sprouts so Bob, you may want to check your brussel sprout supplier. Otherwise, warm staff, excellent service, great value, and the location id brilliant if you're staying at the Dallas Omni.

Good Food

By Rinker101 |

I visited Bobs last week and had a nice time with my friends, The food was good although the service could do with a little more training. All our food was ordered our starters were very good the Salad was great all the main courses arrived except mine, I had order the lamb, which has got left off the original order. By the time it arrived with the wrong side dish most of my friends were finishing their main course. I can't fault the lamb it was delicious and also lovely and hot. After desert we asked for coffee when we asked did they have a latte or cappuccino the waitress said "I don't know" but didn't go to find out, all she said was that they have coffee from a machine, I was a bit surprised at the way she answered. That said Yes I would come back again and the food is always good but it seemed that the waitress either wasn't listening or was having a bad day or too busy. However they did take the lamb off the bill so we didn't have to pay for it.

BEST STEAK IN THE COUNTRY HANDS DOWN

By Dino Sipsas |

I have eaten here a few times and it never lets me down. I recommend this and the downtown location to all my friends that travel to the Dallas area. The steaks are phenomenal and the service is great. I am a steak lover and after eating here I compare all my steaks to this place and nowhere have they been able to measure up. you wont be disappointed. Enjoy...

Great meal at Bob's, flawless

By finesilver |

I had dinner with some clients at the original Bob's recently. I was happy to be at a place which was iconic in Texas for steaks and for being a great restaurant to go to. I was not disappointed at all, the meal was super. I had the bone in KC which was cooked to perfection. I had and enjoyed the cut, and the bone, not many places have a selection of bone in steaks, Bob's did, both on the regular menu and on the supplemental menu also. I had a baked potato also and loved it and the carrot. Our group had an order of onion rings up front and found them to be quite tasty and a nice compliment to the divine bread (a small loaf) given to us tableside also. Others in our group had the prime and some of the specials, we all had perfect steaks. Love when that happens. The place was mostly locals, on a busy Friday night, people in the know who want a great consistent meal when they visit and come again. There are three connected dining rooms so the place has a large seating capacity, even without reservations, we were luckily able to get right in. Service was tops also, Danielle took great care of us, was attentive, friendly and on top of taking care of us. Others helped clear and bring out the steaks, all service was great, even the valet (cost $5). Cost, to me, was on the lower side of Dallas for great steaks and well on the lower side of steaks throughout the US and abroad throughout my travels. Another huge plus for Bob's. I have eaten at other outposts of Bob's in other cities but not at the original. It was great, I will be back. Very Highly Reommended.

DISSAPOINTED

By thomas m |

The atmosphere is lively and the wait staff are attentive and friendly. The table peppers and pickles are a nice and flavorful touch. The glased carrots were simple and perfectly done and the brussels sprouts are the best I ever had. When it comes to the ribeye that I ordered, for being advertised as prime beef I was very disappointed. My steak had a nice sear but was chewy and the seasoning left a lot to be desired. I have gotten much better steaks from other chain restaurants. Had I been there with out the party I was with I would have sent the steak back but I didn't want to put a damper on our evening.

Did not disappoint!!

By C1785XWshawnb |

One of my sons had been to Bob's Steak & Chop House and raved about it. I wanted to surprise my husband with a night out for his birthday but nervous about risking going to a new place for such a big event, but I'm not kidding you, the food from appetizers to the steaks to the dessert were superb. And our servers could not have been nicer or more helpful. We have definitely added Bob's to our "favorites" list!

Excellent

By HEATHER6 |

Having read the reviews we had high expectations for this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. Everything you would expect from a traditional steakhouse. Great service from Michael. Amazing steaks and sides, we particularly loved the glazed carrots. Next time we are in Dallas we will definitely be back

Worth Every Penny!

By Chief959 |

We were in town for a conference and were looking for a high end restaurant with the ability to watch the Black Hawks Playoff game. At first we could not be accommodated, but a wonderful hostess moved us to a semi-private location where we enjoyed the game and fantastic good. The Rib-eyes melted in your mouth. The fillet was to die for. And the helpings filled you to the gills. If you want a great meal, please look up Bob's

A true Dallas gem

By Susan S |

A traditional fine dining restaurant. Don’t let the location or outside appearance throw you off. Food, service and atmosphere are all exceptional. I enjoy their steaks. You can eat at the bar if the wait for a table is too long. Make reservations in advance. Ask for the side room if you like a quieter area. The room by the bar can get a bit noisy. The service is always outstanding.

The Best

By Bob S |

The Best Steak in Dallas. From the minute you walk in there is no place better. I will be back soon to try another Steak.

Quality food, though a tad on the pricey side worth it.

By FoodieChemist |

I've actually been here a couple of times but I'm just now getting around to reviewing it. The quality of the meal and service were top notch. Just know going in that you're going to pay for it. That being said their steaks are well worth it. I would definitely save this place for a special date night/promotion reward dinner etc. Parking is scarce in the area (valet for the restaurant) so I would just Uber over if you can.

Texas steaks!!

By Theresa Fay R |

Very nice steak house. Food was delicious and the service impeccable. We had Salads, steak, scallops and several side dishes. Try the mushrooms and creamed spinach, nice complement for steak. I highly recommend Bobs Steak House and I Will return soon

A little better than the average....

By Saben7 |

Four of us went to Bob's for a birthday dinner. I was surprised at the very small size of this place. To me, it is uncomfortably small, hot and overcrowded. It was also very busy as it was a Saturday night but we had reservations and were seated shortly after arriving. Our server was GREAT and completely on top of everything. The steaks and sides we ordered were prepared nicely and were tasty, but I hardly think worth the cost. Additionally, we were sitting very close to another party that was @ 8 people. I have nothing against people having a good time, but two of these folks were EXTREMELY loud. Most of the other patrons in the very crowded room were also offended. Our server informed us that the manager had already asked these two people to settle down. As one can read from some of my other reviews, I cannot abide to try to enjoy dinner and my dinner guests when sitting next to a table of rude, loud, drunk, morons that have no manners and training. Especially paying $90 for dinner for 2. Just my opinion that other patrons should not have to deal with that mess. Anyway, I guess it was ok for going out for a special occasion as the desserts were free for the birthday boys, food was decent, service was great. Not sure if I will ever re-visit this particular one though.

The best

By Diane L |

Superior food and service! If you are in Dallas and looking for melt in your mouth steak then go to Bob's. The wedge salad was also the best I ever had. If you're lucky you may get Jessica to wait on you, she was friendly and very patient. Excellent meal!

Still very good, not great

By Kaptx |

Had a business dinner at Bob's. My fault. As we had not been there in a while, forgot how loud it was, particularly the table of eight next to us. Given that, the salads were very good, the wedge and the caprese. Both big enough to share. One of us had the shrimp appetizer as an entree and the shrimp were large and great. As to the steaks, cooked to order and well received. Very good, just not THE best as I remembered. Good variety of desserts with the cheesecake and creme brûlée being hits. Will return, but may be a while as so many other steakhouses in Dallas.

Really good when someone else is paying

By cl8855 |

Went here with business group with our recently updated per diems. Outside borders a car alarm store, but you get inside and it seems to go on forever with some old-school wood charm. Food was very good, my Filet cut was nice, perfectly cooked, and the potato was tasty, but I was disappointed in the seasoning of the meat. Others in my group enjoyed their various choices as well. Service was excellent as you'd expect. I would just never spend the money here on my own, just too expensive for what you get.

really great food

By lindas286 |

We had a really great dinner here. We sat at the bar since they were very busy. Salad was delicious, steak was delicious and service was great. Very good place!

Best steak. Period.

By Staci W |

9 oz filet. Best steak ever. Fantastic food and fantastic service. Perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary. Gonna cost us a fortune though, because we'll have to fly back to Dallas from Atlanta when we crave another awesome steak....

They Said It Would Be Great and It Was

By Dennis W |

From the time you walk in till the time you leave, the service is amazing. I was told by some Dallas friends that Bob's was the place for steak in Dallas. Boy were they right. I had the Faust steak and it was perfectly cooked. The drinks, everything was just great. I love old school and I would say this place is old school great. A must if you love steaks.

Great atmosphere and food was great!

By Mike B |

Great atmosphere for a business meeting, looking at about $50-60 for a good steak. Can get pricey for larger groups but the server was very helpful for our business group and was good for a few laughs as well. Had the special bone-in-filet, not the best I have ever had but definitely a great meal (4 on a scale of 1-5). Sides were great! Good venue choice for 2-12 people.

Meat great - sides disappointing

By Jschaf |

Haven't been here in years but came for dinner with family. Service was outstanding and very accommodating. The overall experience was disappointing. I had filet mignon which was outstanding. Melted in my mouth, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Family members had rack of lamb which they also said was great. The problem is that everything else was no better than average. Onion rings looked great but I didn't love the taste of the batter. The creamed corn was overly sweet. The honeyed carrot on the plate wasn't special. Mashed potatoes were good. The gin and tonic cocktail I had was also very average. So overall, the steak was superb but nothing else was.

Poor Service

By ChopperBenny |

We had Rib Eyes, Filets. Steaks were great. Loved the carrot. The salad Great. However, the server, Will H. was just bad. Our meal and night were ruined because of him. At first he rushed us. But then he would disappear. After they brought us the steaks, we didn’t see him for a while to get more drinks. He never came to our area in 20 minutes. Then, while I was still eating, he takes the loaf of bread away. I was not finished with the bread. Then he disappeared again. My dirty plate sat in front of me 20 more minutes. After we asked for check, that took forever. Will H. was a big disappointment

Awesome steaks! Great cozy ambiance with a great cocktail and whiskey/ bourbon selection. Had a great night out.

By BaseCampRainbow |

Awesome steak/ pork chop. Best salad in Dallas! We enjoyed a selection of cocktails. Bobs has a huge selection of wines and whiskey/ bourbon. Cozy welcoming ambiance. The MASSIVE slice of carrot cake is a must try! Thanks to Kevin and Bob!

Great bar and service

By triotrois |

Visited the bar here for late night drinks. Great drinks - well mixed and very strong!. Also the staff looked after our safety and we lost track of a purse that was put behind the bar. Amazing staff. Great night out!

Great restaurant, terrible service

By trroth |

Although had a fabulous meal and service in the restaurant, will NEVER go back to this location because of the TERRIBLE valet service. Three times I was asked the make and model of my vehicle and after the third time was told to ‘calm down’ by the lead (bald Caucasian made with dark glasses) valet. Although the one who found my vehicle was very nice and refused the ‘tip’. Upon arriving home I realize they still had my HOUSE keys and had to drive back at which point I was again berated my the lead valet who indicated he was fully aware they were in possession of the non-vehicle keys) kept them, requiring a return trip. What kind of establishment allows this kind of treatment of its customers?

A group of us took my husband here to celebrate his birthday on Saturday. Four of us had not been to the restaurant before and went based on the recommendation of the other two. Best decision for a birthday dinner ever! Service✅. Atmosphere✅. Food ✅. Cocktails✅. The steak and crab cakes were the winners with our group and we cannot wait to return!

"BEST LIL STEAK HOUSE IN TEXAS"

By Santiago P |

WoW, what a place to go to eat, drink, and meet wonderful people. I saw so many friends there that I just couldn't believe it. The servers are friendly, inviting, and very knowledgeable about their menu. We ordered the Cowboy Ribeye's with salads and all of the fixins, it was all very delicious. Our deserts were right on target and went well after our dinners. We got to talk to a few of the patrons and enjoyed our time while there. I have no complaints, and that is hard for someone like me but it's true. Come in for a nice Texas Sized Steak Dinner and leave fully satisfied.

Not much on ambiance but great on food!

By tjfmsf |

Obviously a tired decor with lots of tables and noise. More than worth it for the steak! Don't miss it. Service was okay, average for a decent restaurant. Go for the steak!

Good experience, not quite a five!

By deccrv |

Visted with colleagues for an early evening dinner. Welcome was pleasant and table was well set and comfortable. Server gave a menu overview which was fine but maybe just too much ofa performance. Food was very good and well served. Just feel price was a little over inflated for what you actually get and you were being charged more for the experince than the quality of the meal. That said it wouldn't put me off going again.

Great steak old school full plate $$

By Neil P |

A bit pricey. But worth every penny. Be warned bob only owns this one. The rest are owned by a corporation. This place is old school steak done right. And it’s a full plate. You get marinated pickles and peppers to start. A wonderful loaf of bread too! The steaks come with carrot (too tasty to write about) and a potatoe (several styles). The starters (meatballs snot bacon wrapped shrimp are some of the best I have ever eaten). This was my 5th steak this trip to Texas. Simply the best.

Best Meal in a Long Time!

By Calvin J |

My wife and I celebrated a special evening at Bob's Chop House on Lemmon Avenue. The service was excellent. We received attention from several waiters who seemed to work very well as a team. We both opened the meal with tomato bisque which was truly outstanding. My wife had the filet while I had the Kansas City Strip. We both felt like it was the best steak we had eaten in a long time. The sides were awesome as well. The wine list was very well thought out, offering excellent selections at all different price/quality points. The key lime pie for desert was the perfect ending to a great meal! Bob's Steak & Chop House had that steak house feel. It was very relaxing. For a high quality steak house, the price was not cheap, but was a good value. Valet parking was easy. This is not a large restaurant, so make a reservation. Enjoy your meal!

Meat Bliss

By Ondrej Krajicek |

You can expect great steaks in Texas, but this place is above and beyond. The beef is just excellent. I had Tomahawk steak, medium rare and it was just delicious. Not my first Tomahawk, but definitely the best one. Just make sure to make a reservation as this place is constantly full!

Excellent, loved it!

By JLS300 |

Was here last week for dinner. One of the best all around meals I have had in a long trime. Service was impeccable, food was incredible, ambiance was good. Dark and 'clubby', the rooms are intimate. The only thing I can mention is it is LOUD. At times had a tough time hearing, and we were at a table along the wall. That ssaid, incredible! Appetizers were good, rack of lamb amazing and the wine list extensive with a good selection. All dishes come with a glazed carrot. I have never seen this before, and loved it. A single regular sized glazed carrot. So good! The baked potatoe was ok, will try the house potatoes next time. Great place, well worth it when in Dallas.

Wow, what a great dinner!

By TLShehan |

After our dinner last night, my wife and I are already planning another trip to Bob's just to ensure our first was not a dream! Not only was our server, Jennifer, friendly, knowledgeable, and full of suggestions, the drinks were out of this world and "filled to the top"! When we finally ordered after snacking on warm bread and homemade saltwater pickles at the table, the 12oz filet ordered was perfectly prepared and so tender I could have cut it with a fork if it wasn't so darn thick! My wife loved the French Onion Soup and beefsteak tomatoes with mozzarella cheese. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with Bob's...really amazed with this place and will certainly be back for another wonderful meal.

Too Loud

By Flyby0161 |

This location has been around for many years. The steaks are well prepared, the setting is very old school. Overall, it's a decent place with a very loud and old seething. Way overdue for updating...

Everything about Bob's is fantastic

By Nick N |

If you like a metropolitan atmosphere and are not on a budget this is a great place to enjoy a really special cuisine. The salads, steaks, appetizers or desserts are really special. Its classic white tablecloth dining served by a professional wait staff who go out of their way to satisfy. I love the old style ambiance of low lights and quite chatter in a traditional steak house. I would recommend this Bob's location above most any upscale restaurant in or outside of Dallas

Still the Best

By Bob S |

Still the Best Steak in Dallas. I have been going there for 32 years. The staff is well trained and they always remember your name.

Best Steak in Texas

By john o |

This is were it all started, the Original Bob's , can beat the Bone in Ribeye! Sides are great and the Martini's even better

Very good steak

By pattija |

This is one of my husbands favorite steak places. The food is pretty consistent. We have taken out of town visitors to this location and they were pleased with their meal. Haven't ever gone away hungry.

Great food

By Dani H |

Bob's was great, the portions are large but they also made my husband feel special with birthday wishes and a dessert on the house.

The best steak house in Dallas

By AFL95 |

There are other Bob's locations in the metroplex, but this is the best of all of them by far. This is the original location and I find the ambiance and experience at this one to be top notch. This was another great evening - professional friendly service, and a fantastic dinner. Went with a "customer" and he was very impressed with the whole experience. Everyone shared the shrimp platter appetizer, and as it turns out everyone had the bone-in KC strip steak too. That steak was awesome - top quality beef, cooked just right, and with just the right amount of seasoning. If you're looking for a "real deal" steak house this is it.

Not the Same Place

By dwsalmon |

Brought us the wrong salad, service was inattentive and entrees were under cooked based on the way they were ordered. Salad was comped. Disappointing given the price of the meal. This has been our favorite for special occasions for many years, but loosing it''s appeal.

Very Good

By Funkyme1972 |

The food was delicious and srvice was just as good. The icecream is made inhouse which is DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Delicious and a great restaurant

By Peggy M |

We went here on a business meeting with s couple and we had a wonderful time. The service is top notch, the presentation of the food was exquisite, the food tastes was beyond my expectations great flavor for steak and fish. Lots of wine choices. The valet parking wad handy and on top of their game. Great dining--fine dining highly recommend this restaurant. You need reservations.

GREAT Steakhouse

By Wtftraveler |

I have been here twice and think this place is fantastic. The service is outstanding and the food is great. They always have decent to very good bottles of wine and fantastic, aged steaks. Great place to entertain and they have valet parking that adds to ease of visiting.

Surprise visit could have been better ;)

By Arlan A |

Drove up from SanAntonio for a Dallas weekend & arrived at 6pm Friday to visit destination Bob's Chop House since I've always had great experiences at Bob's in tone town. Place was packed. Got seated immediately pleasantly surprised. Ordered Stella, 14oz filet medium rare w garlic mashed. Food came & server didn't return for quit a while. Took some cuts & found the steak real rare so ate edges since server didn't come back to see the wellness? When server returned mentioned cut which she agreed real rare & took the cut. They evidently put meat back into the broiler & delivered back to my table where I had already eaten the mashed & carrot as was impossible to wait knowing the sides would become cold. The filet returned edibly decent but the concept of the entire perfect meal (knowing prices) had been seriously disrupted. I was a bit surprised the server didn't take the entire dinner from my presence to return with a full perfect delivery, instead of salvaging meat potentially cross contaminating cooking areas while allowing sides to get cold. Surprisingly I mention receiving better quality assurance at Outback's steak house being well remembered. There should be a little more attention to vacationing patrons not assuming locals. Never had a below average experience from Bob's chefs, servers in San Antonio.

Celebration!!

By Anne C |

Fantastic!! So much fun. Delicious dinner with long time friends. Service was excellent! Lobster bisque is a must. Creamed spinach to die for!! Comprehensive wine list, although we were all about Champagne!! Perfectly cooked filet mignon!!

What an Excellent Dining Experience!

By DDPJR |

Everything was fantastic. Started with Vodka Martini's. Huge icy cold Martini's with large olives. The wines by the glass were generally poured. Don't forget to try the complimentary, in house made jarred pickles on the table, delicious, especially if you love pickles, as I do. The starter crab cake was moist and flavorful. Caesar salad was cold & crisp & perfectly dressed. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare & juicy. The fish of the day was Chilean Sea Bass which was also cooked to perfection, served with a tomato colis sauce on the side & grilled vegetables. For dessert we shared the peanut butter brownie with ice cream & it definitely hit our sweet spot. Service was exceptional & the restaurant decor is classic. There's a reason locals Love this place & that it was packed on a Thursday night. Highly Recommended for an amazing dining experience.

Steak!

By WWWife |

Great old fashioned steak house! Ordered the filet mignon and was so tender I used a butter knife to cut it. Well worth the money to have a good cut of beef and have it cooked correctly. And who would have thought a single glazed carrot would be that delicious, yum! Great ambiance but seemed a little too dark as I have perfect vision and had trouble reading the menu or seeing my food. Service was astounding though. Thank you for a great meal while we were in town. Will definitely come back on our next visit to Texas!

Great food, top notch service

By Del H |

Many fine steakhouses in Dallas area. What stands out is the service and customer interaction. My steak order was medium. 3 of us were dining and when my order arrived it was well done. I showed our server and she immediately took the steak and returned minutes later with the correct cooking temperature. When out bill came it was delivered by the Manager with an apology for their error and she had "comped" our deserts. That is why I plan to return next time I am in town.

Dimly lit pickled cucumbers and peppers

By Chalita2020 |

Great Bread!!!! So delicious. Lobster was cooked right. I had the seared duck and I asked if it was fresh, because if its fresh I like it rare, I got it rare and it was really good. Lots of steak options Pittsburg style cooked right, medallion filets were delicious, waitress accommodated menu choice changes.. we were told bob is in the Cayman Islands so his restaurants must be doing well( it was not cheap, so as long as money is not an object I would eat there over and over) but this jar of partially pickled cucumbers and salted peppers was charming but not tasty(sorry:)) the grilled potatoes with onions and peppercorn gravy would have been really delicious except, the onion weren't done enough and there was to much gravy...... Lovely wine selection display , I loved watching the staff roll the latter over and climb up. Oh the jellybeans, are really really yummy.

Great steaks

By AppleStud |

Great steaks and lobster done nicely, Superb baked potatoes. Service was OK+ but usually is quite good. I was shocked that 2 of the drink at the table were horrible. The extra dry martini had too much vermouth and I ordered another and couldn't figure out why it tasted bad--someone else said my vodka drink had vermouth in it and it wasn't a martini. Anyways, they did take care of things by the bill. They've gotten pricey over the years. At least the drinks are largest in all of their locations--I swear.

great restaurant

By Paul S |

Excellent food and service. No live music or view, but they do a great job on everything else. The staff was friendly and professional.

Above and Beyond Service

By kristina j |

My husband I and I dined at Bob's Friday May 8 and our server Orlando was one of the BEST servers we have ever had! He made some great recomendations and custom made me a huge Ice Cream Sunday for our 12 year anniversary! Thank you Orlando for making our evening VERY special!

Very satisfied. A+

By DonePayingForPoorQuality |

Outstanding onion rings, calamari, and bread. Disappointed in the caesar salad very much. Excellent rib eye. Well cooked and seasoned. Outstanding creamed corn and great mashed potatoes. Asparagus were grilled and a great balance to add to the carbs. Wonderful service. I will be returning here on my leisure time.

Thank You Karen

By David H |

After an awful day with funeral service we needed a dark, quiet place to recharge. And we found it here. From the moment we sat and were taken into care by our wonderful server Karen, who was so caring and looked after us so well. She shared our tears and made it all OK and cared - and turned what could have been a horrible event into a great and memorable one. Wonderful food, best lobster bisque I have ever had, cozy and my now go to place here in Dallas. Karen thank you and Bob's is a class act.

Great Steaks & Service

By Chris G |

My coworkers and I made reservations to try Bob's out. We were immediately seated due to us having a reservation. Once we sat down, our wonderful waitress asked us what we wanted to drink and the fresh loaf of bread and butter was immediately placed on our table. We get our drinks and ordered our appetizer of calamari. It was great. I ordered the 16oz ribeye, coworker one had the 12 oz filet and coworker 2 had the 12 oz ribeye. All were excellent. With the my steak comes a nicely caramel flavored carrot and mashed pots. My coworkers had the baked pots, they were dressed as you wanted at the table. Dinner was excellent. To stuff ourselves even more, we ordered dessert. I had the cheesecake, one had the creme brulee and the other two scoops of ice cream. Excellent. We were completely overstuffed and happy. Great choice. Highly recommend and when I return to Dallas, I'll be back.

Great Steak and Chop House

By Greg E |

From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you walk in you'll know that you came to the right place. The aroma of steaks and chops fills the air. Service is what you would expect from a top end steak house. There when you need them but not pushing you thru your meal; kind of like eating in Europe, you own the table to enjoy the dining experience. I had the veal porterhouse and my bud had an aged ribeye. Phenomenal cuts of meat. I wish I could remember our servers name but he was outstanding down to the littlest of details like using a crumb catcher on the table. With the tip it was about $100 per person for drinks, salad and entree.

SoOoooo good.

By Minklehole |

Great filet Great lobster bisque. Great shrimp cocktail. Great wine. Great service. Great price. No way you can pull-up to this restaurant think and that this food is inside.

Still a Classic

By CH |

It had 10 Years since my last visit. I had one of the Best Martinis ever. The Steak was amazing! Good Lobster Bisque. Try the Hot Dog!

Great steaks

By GwenBryany |

Awesome steaks, expansive wine list, great desserts (brownie with peanut butter ice cream), best bacon wrapped shrimp. I was there with a group of 8; everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was also very good. It was packed so a little noisy in the main room, but we were seated in another room so conversation was easy.

Disappointing all around

By April A |

We had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time, then another 30 minutes before our server even took our order. We had a party of 9, so I expected it to be slow, and it was a Friday night, but we had a reservation at 9pm and didn't get our food until 10:45. Ridiculous. We felt completely ignored by our server, and the food was not nearly as good as I expected from their reputation. Steak was too rare and the shrimp were rubbery and flavorless. We didn't take the chance of sending the steak back, it might not reappear for another 45 minutes. Maybe we just had an off experience, but I left wishing we had picked up a burger at a drive through and called it a night. I would have been more satisfied.

Serivce and Food Quality

Service was over the top and quality of food is worth the investment...somewhat pricey but it will depend on what you compare to........ will go back All staff are educated in their menu and pallet.

Great Steaks and Ambience!

Friday night family dinner with our student. Everyone at our table ordered filet mignon 9 oz. accompanied by one big carrot roasted in honey and either baked potato or smashed. We also ordered two sides, the sautéed mushroom with spinach and the creamed corn. And a caesar salad or tomato with red onion to start. We really did not need to order any sides. The steak entree plate with a starter was enough! The steaks were very good and cooked perfectly, medium, with no blood on the dish. A few things were a little off: Too much coarse black pepper on salads and steaks; white bread served with no bread knife (nothing special); and even with dinner reservations and not a full restaurant, hostess offers us a table right in front of the kitchen/waitstaff pantry in the back. We asked for a better table location which she did find (with reservations we should not have to even go through this dog and pony show making a poor first impression on us). Overall, very good ambience, great waitress, and delicious steaks.

Great steak ,,,

By Jeff B |

Bone in KC Strip was superb, and at a fair price, extensive wine list at fair bottle pricing,,,,yet sides were lacking. Calamari was perfectly cooked, but lacked flavor. (Bernard's in Tyler has much better,,,) lobster bisque was also without merit, (a couple visiting from Boston stopped by our table to get our opinion-they shared that they sent theirs back!) Kiepersol Restaurant has much better lobster bisque,,, Would we go back? Definitely, but just focus on the entrees/great steaks that they are known for.

Great food and night

By Danny G |

Visited another outlet further north. Fantastic steaks. Service was great too. Nice comfortable restaurant with an extensive bar.

Fantastic meal but pricey

By fllocksmith |

Food and service were fantastic! Best steak ever! However bring money. Steaks start at $40. Was well worth it

Never Fails to Impress

By Denny R |

Have been here from two to three times per year for many years. The food is always incredible and the service is outstanding. I recommend one of the steaks with the house potatoes. Appetizers are really good too!

Taste of Texas

Best streaks, great atmosphere. If you can't get it cooked right here, you can't anywhere. Service friendly and efficient valet parking $5

Always Pleases

By EMM_Dallas |

I have been here many times over the years and it continues to rank as one of the best steakhouses in Dallas. I always request a booth in the bar area, and while it can get a little noisy, I love the vibe/atmosphere of the room and feel it is a perfect setting to enjoy a mouth watering filet!

One of the best steaks in Dallas

By CynthiaCharleen |

The rib eye steak was stellar. I was attending a seminar there and one person had a thick pork chop that was excellent. I recommend the Caesar Salad and the steak. The rooms were reminiscent of a London eating establishment with the dark woods and the waitstaff bustling around seeing to the patron's every need. You will need to allow some time to just sit and listen to the surroundings and enjoy.

Long Time

By CarnivoreGunter_TX |

Been a long time since I’ve been to Bob’s on Lemmon and it’s still a classic. Good people watching and good food. Hard to improve on what they have going on. Good service and great cocktails.

Still Good

By Louis D |

Recently went back to Bob's. It has been some time since Dallas has....well, we have a lot of steakhouses!!! I was there mid week and it wasn't as packed as it use to be (see above comment) but I liked it less packed. The service was terrific and the pace perfect. I shared a wedge salad (order it with ranch dressing and blue cheese crumbles if you don't like a mouth full of blue cheese) and a bone in rib eye steak. The steak was cooked to perfection, re-pleat with the carrot--gotta love the carrot! Bob's is now "an oldie but goodie" and highly suggest you continue your patronage. I know I will.

Best steak ever!!!

By 560lynettef |

We were all craving steak after a day of shopping and a friend invited us here. We were very happy customers on this day. The steaks were the best we ever tasted. We will be back again!!!

Always excellent

By CMYKirk |

We hadn't been to the Bob's ChopHouse on Lemmon in quite some time, due primarily to the fact that the one in Grapevine is so close to our home, but this location is just as good. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and served hot and delicious. I love the big carrot, marinated in orange juice and cuttable with a fork. Baked potatoes are always ample here compared to so many places that put a pint sized version on the plate. The bread is hot and fresh, as was the spinach salad we enjoyed before the steaks arrived. There is a good choice of additional sides to pick from, we chose the mushrooms to compliment our Filets. My wife had the 9oz and I chose the 12oz version. We did not leave hungry, as a matter fact... took a little leftover in a doggie bag. Our only complaint may have been that they seated us very near the bar and it was loud, actually very difficult to carry on a conversation with 8 in our group. I wish we would have requested a table in a more quiet area as these were friends we hadn't seen in a good bit of time. My fault... I'm sure all I had to do was ask. Nonetheless, it did not deter from the enjoyment of the food or service. My opinion is that Bob's is one of the better Steak Houses in the DFW area. We've been to several as there are many to choose from in the DFW area, but Bob's is the one we return to most often. Maybe it is that carrot!

Excellent Sea Bass

By 813eecne |

Nice service, a little odd decor inside. Having TVs in the dining area is a little distracting while eating a $50 entree. Friendly and prompt staff.

Not what I call fine dining

By Regina_S_G |

We went with friends who were staying at the Omni. First, I thought fine dining restaurants had a certain level of attire...not so with this place. People were wearing track suits, shorts and flip flops, PJs, even. The hostess seemed lost and our waiter was pretty clueless, too. The house pickles are good. The steak was bland and over cooked, my husband's potato was not cooked through. We could've been on a bad night but we won't be going back to find out.

Overall best steakhouse in Dallas

By jclct5 |

This one has a traditional venue and great steaks. My business clients prefer this one over all the others.

Amazing Hospitality and great food

By miissih |

The team at this restaurant went above and beyond to make our dining experience wonderful. Our server Lacey was attentive and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about menu choices and perfect at timing our entire meal. Our food was very good. Table favorites were the lobster bisque, chopped salad, Caesar salad and all of our steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. Most of all I appreciated the entire staff helping to find every last piece of my grandmothers necklace that I broke at the table. It is very special and I can have it repaired because they cared enough to help. Great experience !

If you love steaks

By ArunsView |

I love steaks and no better place to have'em than here. I was told that this was a Dallas institution and it looked and tasted the part. We ran into Jerry Jones at the restaurant and my colleague remarked that if it is good for Jerry, then it must be good for the rest of us. P.S. I had no idea who Jerry Jones was until folks told me

Very Nice Traditional Dallas Steakhouse

By Ron M |

I was told by friends to check Bob's Steak & Chop House, and they were right. Not fancy, but service is excellent and steaks are very good. Parking is not a problem with efficient and not expensive Valet. The waiters are very attentive and if you visit have the NY Strip and the unique carrot - you will be back!

Best Steak in Town!

By Bill H. |

This is a throwback to the days when steakhouses were clubby, dimly lit and well appointed. The staff has been here for years and they all know how to do it properly. Service is beyond outstanding. The menu is wide ranging and the steaks are the best you can get. The side items fit the meat heavy menu and the drinks are big, bold and cold. This is not just a special occasion place, but it is good for any occasion, even just because it is Wednesday night. Been here many times and have never been anything but pleased and full!

I like Texas!

By DaniloC |

I was here for a dinner with new friends met during a congress in Dallas. Some of us heard/read about this restaurant, not cheap, but worth of a visit. Great food, expecially the meat, and very kind staff. Maybe the environment is a little dark, in my opinion. If I come back in Dallas, surely I will return for another taste!

Excellent Dinner

By tdrenecker |

This place was delicious. They started us out with fresh bread that was crusty outside light, fluffy, and moist inside. The soup was next and it was very tasty followed by our meal. The filet mignon and KC Strip was cooked to perfection, very tasty and seasoned perfectly. Our sides were potatoes and a huge carrot. The carrot was steamed perfectly with a honey glaze. The potatoes I had was mashed with garlic and skin and once again perfection; everything was to perfection. It was a little noisy but you could still carry on a conversation with your spouse/guest. Price ran $50.00 or below per person. It was worth it!

The Place to Go!

By Jeff M |

If you are looking for an excellent meal, this is the place to go. The food is outstanding and the steaks are amazing. The staff is attentive without being overbearing and they do a fantastic job. To be honest there really isn't too much more to say.

Bob's is always a great choice

By The_Italian_Reviewer |

Second time to Dallas and second time to Bob's on Lemmon. This place is always a confirmation. Elegant place amazing for romantic dinners, business meeting or any other occasion. I would not recommend this place for kids birthday party since it's usually quite and relaxing... keep it that way!! :) Everything you get, will be delicious but I definitely recommend the steaks, specifically the new york steak. Always great!

Bobs still great!

By Neil-from-Dallas |

Still great food. atmosphere and service! Been going to Bobs since old Bob Sambol started it a very long time ago. The steak is still 1 of the best in DFW. Sides delicious..even the obscene carrot. Drinks great too. Only slight is the way people were dressed, but there is a sign on the door so they try and its really not their fault that people are such messes these days! We will be back

The best of the best.

By Cliff J |

While visiting in Dallas, Texas, I had the opportunity to visit Bob's Steak & Chop House and was absolutely overwhelmed by the service, food, menu selections, and ambiance. This was the original restaurant which is now found in several US cities and I had had the opportunity some years ago to visit their San Francisco location, but I enjoyed the original as much or more than that in the Bay area. Both are really great steak houses, but this one was fantastic. It is quiet yet not stilted, the food is a bit more expensive than other restaurants of this type, but is absolutely delicious. Service is exceptional and the wine list is extensive. It was a family outing and this restaurant was perfect for that affair. I ordered a ribeye steak that was cooked exactly to my request and the vegetables and salads that were served with it were fantastic. Our servers were fast, efficient, friendly and helpful. The young lady that assisted us was very familiar with all of the offerings listed on the menu as well as very conversant with the wine available in their very extensive cellar. We were warmly greeted and seated and did not feel rushed or even hurried at any time during the evening. Valet parking was available at the front door and we were served courteously by a group of young men who held each door and greeted us upon our arrival. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I will remember for a long while. I heartily recommend this establishment and plan to return at least once during each of my future visits to Dallas. I hope that many of you reading this will have the opportunity to visit Bob's and that you enjoy it as much as we did.

Great reason to visit Dallas!

By James R |

I visit my sister in Dallas once in a while. And, an, do I love their steaks! But when she took me to Bob's Steak House, I thought I went to heaven! The servings are huge and the steaks are so juicy! The side dishes are also great! The service was excellent, and the waiter was very attentive. For me, this is another great reason to visit Dallas!

Soooo good!!

By David K |

I'm a big Ruth's Chris/Morton's kind of steak fan. This may have been the best filet (Oscar style) I've ever had. Visually it was stunning. I kid you not, it was nearly 4 inches tall (the 16 oz.). Unbelievable flavor. It wasn't quite as swanky as Ruth's or Morton's, but that doesn't matter to me. I'm there to eat.

Excellent

By HEATHER6 |

This was our second time at Bobs and it was even better than before. Our server, David, was excellent. He was attentive without being intrusive, very knowledgeable and funny. I think our favorite part of the meal was the lamb chops as an appetizer but everything was great. This restaurant is always top of our list when we visit Dallas.

Best Steaks in the United States!

By John D |

You cannot go wrong with this steakhouse! They are aged just right and are absolutely wonderful!! This is a good place for family and business meetings (especially if you want to impress). Not only are the steaks wonderful, but the sides are equally great. Service is spectacular!!!!!!

Birthday dinner with family

By G S |

Decided on Bob’s for birthday dinner. Experience started with a dirty Bob martini. Perfect with 3 blue cheese stuffed olives. Atmosphere is loud especially in the bar area. We sat in one of the back dinning rooms were the noise level was more tolerable. Jorge provided great service. Bacon appetizer was heavenly, so crispy and flavorful. The wedge salad and lobster bisque were so good. Blue cheese dressing was some of the best I have ever had. For dinner we had 9oz filet and I had the redfish special. Steaks were cooked to perfection but the carrot and mashed potatoes round out the dish. I was super pleased with the fish. The sauce was flavorful and spicy. Finished the meal with carrot cake and cream brûlée. Wife thought carrot cake was perfect. Not to sweet. Daughter said cream brûlée need to have a crispier crust. Overall a good meal and great service for a special occasion.

A Dallas Institution

By MannyG2000 |

Does steaks very well, while side dishes are variable. Steaks run from $35 to $50. The smaller 12-oz cuts are adequate for most. This restaurant consists of several rooms strung together. Ceilings are low and noise levels high, but this also makes for an animated ambience very suitable for groups. The wine list is extensive. Though the Californias are a little steep, we found a Spanish wine that we all liked, at $80 a bottle.

Old World Charm & Yummm

By Cynthia S |

What a wonderful evening. Charming old world warm and friendly decor, laid back attitude with superior service! Juicy steak cooked to perfection. Excellent wine menu and Yummy dessert! Service was spot on. Waitress was always there when you needed her but not hanging over you. Great menu with lots of excellent choices...hard to decide but really wanted a steak, and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this Dallas institution.

Wonderful evening!

By DavefromNJ |

Our group, 11 people from across the country, were all in Dallas for the Giants Cowboys game. We reserved for Saturday night at Bobs and had a wonderful time. It’s a more reasonably priced steak house- good solid quality; a very fair wine list, and our wait staff took great care of us.

Some parts excellent, others just ok.

By cathyinbothell |

I'm a filet eater and this one was slightly over cooked with very little actual taste. I was disappointed. However, the French onion soup was the best I've ever had, as was the fresh baked bread, the garlic mashed potatoes and the AMAZING sautéed mushrooms! Oh, and the chocolate cake! So... Could have just been an off night meat wise... I'm not sure. My husband loved his steak. Can't quite give it five stars as the meat is the star attraction but the rest of the dinner was so yummy that it almost made up for it.

A real STEAK house

By brunodarochaazevedo |

A Dallas tradition - the discreet outside look hides a great steakhouse on the inside! The steaks are fabulous (don't ask for well done of medium well) and the baked potatoes are a great side dish. Service was good, parking is a little crazy because of their location. Uber/Lyft there or use the valet. Overall, the real Texas steak experience can be done there!

Texas steakhouse at it's best

By tracey5105 |

Went for a fairly late dinner with 9 other people and not only were we able to get a table on Saturday night, (ok, one of our party knew the owner,) but the service was amazing and so was the food. Started with great martinis. Then giant onion rings that we all shard. Had a yummy caesar salad and then being the non meat eater, really enjoyed a perfectly cooked lobster table and some wonderful crispy potatoes. There are lots of sides to choose from and there a quite a variety of steaks. No one could agree which was the best one, but they all loved theirs. The portions are very large and the food arrived so quickly. The service could not have been better. For dessert, we shared a giant ice cream sundae. Classic steakhouse food, but really really good. A Dallas tradition for sure.

On Lemmon, not a lemon.

By Gene W |

This is a dimly lit restaurant that has various dining areas. You can eat at a booth in the bar area, or the regular dining room. There are other private rooms that you can reserve for special occasions that are off the 'beatin path', so to speak. The French onion soup was superb as was the ice berg lettuce salad with blue cheese dressing. Out 9oz. filet was a little undercooked making it hard to cut and chew. That was a big drawback along with the sautéed mushrooms that were 'huge' and did not fare well with us. Our waitress was excellent and fun. Be prepared to spend over $100 per couple here. The restaurant seemed a little 'worn' if you would.

Best of Dallas

By Matt Blum |

The cout de bouf here is the only steak you need to know. When it comes to steak, this is the best. Simple and out of this world. Comes with a glazed carrot. Like I said, simple. Order some sides and an old fashion... You've got a night worth celebrating.

Mouth watering delights

By Ray S |

This is the original Bob's and it has the typical wood paneling and white table cloth atmosphere you would expect at a steak house. Steaks were outstanding with sides to match. Brussels sprouts, various salads, sweet potatoes and glazed carrots that would make your horse lust. I had rack of lamb and it was cooked perfectly. Our appetizers included smoked salmon with toast points. Our server was Matt who's service matched how great the food was. Naomi, their wine director, made some excellent, affordable suggestions from a nice list that would suit most tastes. The restaurant is a bustling scene and not quiet in any way, so discussing business would require shouting a lot of the time. It's casual attire and offers valet parking. Reservations definitely needed. It was a super evening honoring our son on his 40th birthday.

Best filet mignon ever

By Jo Thompson |

I know Texas is known for beef but this was the best I've ever tasted. The entree was accompanied with a glazed carrot and a choice of potato, baked, mashed or fries. I understand the lemon drop martini was outstanding.

Excellent

By robynk2 |

We had excellent service. The best lobster I've ever had. Steaks were perfection. Lobster bisque is a great choice. Expensive but worth it.

Great Food and Service

By dcseny |

It was our 49th wedding anniversary and my wife like's Bob's so I made a reservation. I, however, did not pick the Bob's we intended to dine at in downtown Dallas. However, the food and service at this Bob's on Lemmon Ave was just as good. The facility was a tad bit more cramped and we had to be moved to avoid a large party of men having a very good time (loud), but to the credit of the staff, they made it happen with a minimum of disruption to anyone and didn't make us feel like we had caused a problem. Jodie was our server and she did a wonderful job. So on a rainy Friday night, at an unintended restaurant, it all worked out and was a good evening. The willingness to move us gracefully and the wonderful server we had (Jodie) made the evening special.

A Great Meal!!!

By Siempreotravez |

Ten of us dined here last week. What a treat. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. There were no negative comments. We had different meals; crab cakes, salmon, rack of lamb and steaks. It was nice to start out with the delicious loaves of hot bread. The jars of pickles and sliced red peppers were a nice surprise. I ordered the 14 oz. ribeye. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Accompanied by a good Cabernet. Heaven on a plate. It was accompanied by a very large glazed carrot and fried potatoes with an onion pepper gravy. These sides weI'm glad I didn't order anything else as it would have been too much. Danielle, our server was very friendly and attentive. One thing to remember, we had separate checks, but gratuity was included in the bill. This wasn't a problem as we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. If I'm back in Dallas again, I'll be making tracks to Bob's

Average steak house

By Betty L |

Round sma table for 6 . No comfort to look at the menus and have appetizers and bread and drinks the same time on table. Steaks good, seafood average. Side dishes not unique. Prices average to high. Not anything to remember for the indoor decorations. Desserts not anything special.

Best Steak House in Dallas

By Glenn K |

excellent steaks, have tried many of them and all are good. excellent sides. wedge salad is amazing. lobster bisque is a must. Great place for special celebrations

Great Old School Steakhouse

By ConK |

Beginning with a friendly bartender and a couple of stiff cocktails in a fun, busy bar, we enjoyed our Saturday evening in this place. The steaks were out of this world, the large carrot on each plate provided some whimsy and also tasted good. Service was attentive and the ambience was just right for celebrating the eve of Father's Day with our daughter. Reminded us of 21 Club in NYC.

You get what you pay for!!

By Airgineer |

The Best Steak "NY strip" I've ever had. Cooked to perfection and great service. A tad expensive, but you get what you pay for.

The OG Bobs

By lucycan |

This is the original Bobs. I have been to many (most) of the other locations. This one is unique. It is also probably the best. The service was superb. The steaks were perfect, as always. The sides amazing. Could not ask for more!

Anniversary

By sandrap1403 |

Great steaks, service, & valet parking—all staples at Bob’s! Who could ask for more? We usually go to the Bob’s in Grapevine, but this time we chose the original Bob’s on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. Our server was John Carlos! He was super attentive, perceptive, & humorous. I told him that we had chosen this Bob’s location to celebrate our anniversary. Following our appetizer & entrees, we ordered the beyond delicious chocolate fudge cake. When JC brought the cake to us, it had a very large (6”) candle on it which he lit and it was like a sparkler (a little “illegal” firework he said he had in his car). The cake had the attention of all of those sitting around us. What a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary!! It’s a night we will never forget thanks to John Carlos, the brined pickles, the crusty bread and butter, the steaks, the cinnamon carrot, and the sparkling cake!!

Birthday Dinner

By Chef Uno |

We planned my sister’s 40th birthday party at Bob’s steakhouse. We loved planning the party with Monica and she anticipated every need. They set us up in a private room, and the menu was served family style. We had a blast and my sister had a beautiful birthday.

Not what it was

By MrLeopold |

Years ago, this was one of my favorite restaurants. Sadly it has lost its magic. Steak was good not great, sides lacked flavor. Hardly anyone was there on a Friday night. Surprisingly the bobs location in grapevine is better. Hopefully they get their mojo back.

Pleasantly surprised. Outside will make u think twice.

By tra_Traveler |

Went here with a large group from out of town as it was described as “the best steak house in town”. I’m not sure I would go that far, but everyone was very pleased with their meals - from steaks to seafood. The wine was good as were the side dishes. The outside looks makes the restaurant look like a complete dive, but the food makes up for it. The inside is average.

Amazing Dinner

By WorldTravelRod |

This is the original Bob's. It is a bit loud with lots of small rooms full of diners enjoying the best steak in Dallas. Our waiter was awesome and informative with his recommendations. I enjoyed the Veal Chop, so flavorful and perfectly prepared. Of course its Bob's so you get the amazing cooked carrot which I so enjoyed. Dessert was maybe the best chocolate cake ever. Great service and an amazing meal

Solid Steakhouse

By TheDeacon87 |

I cannot say that Bob's is the best steak that I've had but it was solid. I had the KC dry aged version, cooked just as ordered and moist throughout. The Brussel sprouts and spinach sides were great but the house prepared potatoes were a bit off. Good place with nice wine list.

You won’t be disappointed!

By Christine L |

We had a wonderful meal at Bobs. Service was fantastic. From the host stand to desert it was a true pleasure. The crab cakes were delicious and the steak was perfectly prepared. Definitely 5 ⭐️!

The Original Bob's Steak & Chop House

By anjuynia357 |

When eating at a restaurant of this caliber, quality of food and service has become an expectation; like it's other Dallas area locations, the original Bob's Steak and Chop House on Lemmon Ave did not disappoint. In addition to the regular Bob's menu, this location offers a supplementary menu unique to the original.

Bobs is good but it certainly is not the best steak house in Texas

By sealcoater |

We had heard so much about Bobs Steak House and were quite surprised when all it was was OK. The filet we had was so so and was cut "funny"! The vegetables again were OK. However the service was fantastic.

Customer Service is GONE!

By matthewd806 |

I have 5 clients in the Dallas area and I was looking to send $150.00 gift cards to each this holiday season. There is a $13 to $20 fee for delivery on top of the $150.00 cost. That's $65.00 to $100.00 just for delivery. Last time I just had the certificate emailed at NO CHARGE. Today, they stated that they have ended sending emails. With technology and security systems enhancements, there should be minimal to no risk at sending emails. They also would not allow mailing a certificate at the cost of a 47 cent stamp. If they are this cheap in not assisting their clients, you must wonder where else they are being cheap! There are plenty of other options out there which I will now use.

The perfect spot for a great night of fun or privacy!

By Holenone9399 |

After debating many North Dallas options our Hotel Shuttle driver interrupted a conversation with the front desk staff to say "You have to go to Bob's if you want a great steak!" (Thanks James!) My son and I were celebrating a good year of school so he said we should go for it. It was a Monday night so when we called they confirmed we didn't need reservations. I would plan reservations, as it was still busy! A short drive over to Lemmon Ave we found an older building on the corner of Wycliff Ave. with fast and friendly valet parking! We later learned this is the original Bob's Location, which made it more fun! We were nice-casually dressed (Shorts/Dress shirts), but most patrons were a little dressier than us! The two friendly valets greeted us quickly as did the two hostesses. Always positive to enter a restaurant and see to happy smiling faces. Thanks Ladies! The bar area was 50% full and looked like fun, so we grabbed a booth in the middle of the room. The room was comfortable yet very nice and elegant too. The overall experience was unique and wonderful. The first thing we observed was a jar on the table of something pickled maybe-but we weren't sure. After asking our wonderful waitress, we learned it was their unique Pickles/Red Bell Peppers in Salt water and garlic. We tried them both and you should try them. Fun experience! As for our waitress, hhmmmmm- Betty, Ashley, Gertrude, whatever her name was - Oh Yeah - It was Teresa! We joked all night that her name changed based on how her service was! Let's just say, she was amazing start to finish! She was friendly, hard working and super helpful all night. She talked to my son and I throughout the night and we appreciated the way she joked with us and yet provided A+ service. Thank you Teresa for a great night. As for our dinner, we split a Beefsteak Tomato & Red Onion Salad. . The first for my son, and so fresh! Sliced and prepared wonderfully. If you haven't tried one, do so here! You will love it. Their bread was hot and tasty and the right size. We both ordered a Filet for our main entree with baked potatoes and their signature glazed whole carrot(almost like a dessert it was so good). Our preference is medium rare and they were cooked exacto!!! In fact, possibly the best prep we have ever received - nice pink middle but overall HOT! Let's just say - nothing was wasted tonight! We ended the night with a wonderful Carrot Cake dessert that Teresa also recommended - it was so special and my son can't stop talking about it. Finally - just to note, the staff here is awesome. From valets, hostesses, waitresses, supporting team members, to the general manager who stopped by several times and checked on us - we really appreciated you all and will definitely return when we are back in the fall. Take good care of Teresa - she is a gem (and maybe her sidekick Ashley too!).

Old school.

By 455michaelvictor |

Great service, great food. Got the $85 Tomahawk rib eye steak and cream corn. First steak was overcooked. They had a no tolerance policy for that and immediately sent me out a new one. Perfect. If you like your Martini's up, watch out for the bartenders crushing ice. Get them stirred. I would go back in a second. Don't worry about the outside curb appeal. No windows with marshmallow white paint. All good inside.

Great dinner!

By Mimi L |

Great place for adults. Delicious food!!Brought my 8 year old but no children's menu so I shared my filet mignon & mashed potatoes with her. She ate it all up. Bathrooms are on the small size, too. Overall, a nice cozy place for a great steak dinner!

Good food, very bad atmosphere

By Cindy M |

We like to try new restaurants around the Dallas area. It is my husbands birthday and we thought we would try out a place we hadn't been to. The food was good overall. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The place was very crowded. The acoustics are not good at all. It was so loud that we could not hold a conversation. It was almost to the point of just wanting to finish and get out of there. There was no relaxing and enjoying the moment, we left stressed. We had asked for a to go container. A man took our food and put it all in one big container. That is a huge no no. Our food should have been put in separate containers. This is one of the reasons we have stopped eating at Culpeppers in Rockwall. Ruth Chris and Four Winds have this place beat in relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere 100%. But if you like noise and crowds, this is the place to go.

Not living on its reputation. Still great.

By joelwildman |

Food still sings to a carnivore. I had the veal chop and my guest had the ribeye. All terrific as were the sides.

The ultimate expense account

By Bink |

The ultimate expense account meal. The food here is always first-class combined with stellar, energetic service and a great business and date-night vibe. I had the 9oz filet, cooked perfectly along with the lightly sweetened but HUGE carrot. I think Bob knows what a BIG deal I am. ;) Covid downside - no more jelly beans at the hostesses station!

Our First Visit

By Jerry M |

We visited Bob's on Lemmon this past Saturday to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary and had an excellent experience. Starting in the bar where our server (Emma) was very personable and attentive. plus she made a great "old fashioned", my wife's favorite cocktail. Our meal started with a crab cake and french onion soup (both excellent ) then my wife's filet, and my medium veal chop were right on and very good. We finished our meal with a nicely tart key lime pie. . Our waitress ( Veronica), was very helpful and again very attentive. All and all a totally enjoyable evening we plan to repeat

Used to be great !!

Visiting a local friend who suggested Bob's Steaks while staying in the downtown area. Last minute reservations were not a problem, and everyone was super friendly. My friend and I shared the 12 oz filet and our other friend had the bone-in ribeye. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chopped salad was wonderful, and the sides we enjoyed were sautéed spinach and shrooms. Nice wine list. Our friend who is a self-proclaimed steak connoisseur, said the ribeye was in his "Top 5."

This restaurant was just ok.

By Adam M |

This restaurant was just ok. Nothing special food wise. You are really paying for the upscale atmosphere and attentive waiting. They did go above and beyond to make sure our anniversary went well. When reserving it had asked if we were celebrating and they came through for sure. I ordered a Bone in wagu Ribeye, either wagu is very overrated or this wasn’t it. The ribeye was huge and looked incredible, however, I found it to be gristly and tough. I had to use table salt to season it since I could barley taste any, to be fair the website mentions that they only use salt and pepper because the steaks are so good. They were true to that just not enough for such a large ribeye. The carrot was room temperature also which I only took one bite. My wife ordered the prime ribeye which was way better than mine. The deserts were some of the best we have ever had. If given a chance In wouldn’t personally splurge on this place and choose another. The fact that I feel like I didn’t get real wagu bothers me. If I’m wrong and I did get it then I got a very bad one.

Wonderful.

Great food and service. Atmosphere is very nice. Service is superior. Down sides is parking. I would definitely return. Price compared to quality of meal is GREAT!!!!!!

Wow

This restaurant is amazing! Very full, but, I was alone so it was easy to take a seat at the bar. Steak is very well done, delicious. Service is very good. People are concerned about your satisfaction. I can recommend!!!

Wonderful Experience

This was our first time at Bob's. Excellent food, perfect cocktails and MONTE made the meal more than memorable. We so appreciated the personal attention, conversation and being "Thanked" for choosing them for our dining experience. I would highly recommend!

Great steak and Service

Have been to a number of the "better" steak houses in the area, and Bob's has one of the best, no doubt. A must do if steak is your thing.

Steak that will bring tears to your eyes

By zoomblur |

I'm not kidding. As any steak lover will tell you, the greatest cut of meat can be ruined if not cooked and seasoned properly. Bob's is the best in town! I had the rib-eye, cooked medium rare and it was not only perfectly cooked, the flavor was unbelievable. You will also get their signature carrot as a side--it's a larger than average carrot, cooked perfectly with a sweet blend of flavors that I can't describe. I'm sure a large amount of butter was involved, and rightfully so. The wine selection is outstanding and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

Cout de Bouf

By Matt Blum |

There's only one steak you need to know about here at Bob's... the cout de bouf. It is hands down, the best steak you'll have in Dallas.

Tremendous

By Marcylw |

Wow! We are steakhouse snobs. This was one of the best steakhouse experiences ever. Bone in rib-eye and filet were superb and cooked exactly the way we ordered. Love the butter on top. We both really liked the carrots. The fried potatoes with gravy were the only thing that were a little underwhelming to me. Absolutely loved the chophouse salad. One of the best steakhouse salads I’ve had. My husband enjoyed the bacon appetizer but I’m not the carnivore that he is. It was a little too much fat for me. We will be back next time we are in Dallas.

Never, ever, ever misses

By Rich M |

I get it it is my favorite restaurant in the entire world. I'm biased. But believe it or not sometimes I'm nervous walking in. nervous because it can't always be perfect right? Eventually they will over, or under cook my steak. The server will be new and mess something up. Nope. Never. I don't know for sure but this week was probably meal 20 or so at Bob's. And it was perfect as always. I don't understand why there is a menu, they should only have the filet with a carrot and the skillet potatoes with gravy. Yes I know steak is usually with a baked potato or mashed but skip them here. And that giant carrot it's not garnish folks it's heaven. The only thing I change-up with my order is the salad. I love the blue cheese salad (Not the wedge, every restaurant has those.) I also love the mozzarella one, and the chopped, and the Caesar. Key Lime Pie is also amazing if you have room, it's my favorite Key Lime Pie in Dallas. All I can say is the steak is so tender, delicious, buttery I have never had better. We used to trade off and go to Bob's then another. Now it's Bob's all the way. Nick and Sams is greatness, it's not Bob's. Al Biernat's is delicious, but not better than Bob's. Del Frisco's is top notch, but not as good as Bob's so why keep going elsewhere?

Great veteran steak house

We had a business dinner in a private room. Our cost is monitored by the "thought police" of our company. We communicated our concerns to the restaurant and they made certain we did not exceed our limit with a fixed price menu. The food and service were excellent.

Our go-to Birthday celebration spot!

By Mishmash0718 |

We went last night for a friend's birthday dinner. Even though it was packed, they seated us early. Our first table was a booth and I explained that a couple in our party would not be able to get in and out of the booth. They immediately honored my request for a table instead. They brought fresh baked bread right away and menus for us to look at as we waited for everyone to get there. Lacey was our waitress and she was amazing. She explained both menus to us and got drinks while we made our decisions. As usual, the steaks, chops, sirloins were amazing. The Carrot is always delicious and the smashed potatoes are definitely the way to go. My friend brought in a birthday cake and they executed the candles/serving, etc. with no issues and it was fabulous! It was a great night and I'm sure we will be back for the next birthday celebration!

Birthday Dinner

By Wombat21 |

We made a reservation at Bob's for our son's 30th birthday dinner. The entire experience was great. Both steaks that were ordered were fantastic. The shrimp cocktail was delicious and enough for two people. The service could not be beat. The birthday "boy" also got to pick a dessert off the menu. The restaurant exceeded out expectations.

Wonderful Team Holiday Dinner

By mitoney |

I treated my work team to a fantastic dinner at Bob’s Steak & Chop House. The service was spot-on and very friendly and the food was outstanding. The bar service also stood out. Our cocktails came out fast and strong! The bartender kept an eye on us for refills as needed! Good thing we took an Uber and not driving. We ordered a number of appetizers and the favorite was the calamari and Maryland crab cakes. Both were easy to share. We even took advantage of the pickles and picked red peppers in the middle of the table and enjoyed those too. There were 6 of us and we all loved our entrees. Most of us ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection. Definitely 4-star prime quality! This restaurant didn’t disappoint. We all left very happy with the entire experience!

Always delicious!

We come here every year for the UT/OU game and are never disappointed The bar service is quick and friendly and the meals are awesome. I love the candied carrot with every steak. It's a little on the pricey side but worth every penny for the quality and experience. We will be back!

not what i expected

By smooth b |

i rely on reviews when picking a restaurant to eat at when i travel. i was very disappointed with this one. went with my wife for 830 reservation which wasn't ready when we got there. waited 15 minutes for our table. this is where the place dropped the ball big time. no lie waited 20 MINUTES for any server waitress waiter to acknowledge us after we were seated and that was only after i asked a busboy who our waiter was. no water no bread only menus for 20 minutes. i almost walked out. mind u there was plenty of workers walking right by us without even looking at us. now for the food which i was hoping would make up for it. ordered a wagyu rib eye which isn't cheap but i don't mind spending $ for a nice dinner. had a very weird taste to it which my wife would not eat it because of it. we order steaks a lot so this was not to our liking. glazed carrots, baked potato and roll was very good. i would not go back to this place which is very well known in dallas.

Excellent customer service!

By maddycrouch |

Found this place based on reviews and it did not disappoint. Arthur was our server and he was fantastic! Helped with recommendations. Was very accommodating and courteous. We were treated to a delightful meal and dessert. It was well worth the money spent. I would absolutely recommend and return! Arthur, if you ever move to CA and want a job, look us up!

It's awful

By travelin f |

We do not understand the popularity of this restaurant. The food is extremely mediocre, the place is tired. The cocktails are $14-16 each. We haven't been in years and decided to give it another try thinking we're missing something. One good thing: The 2 bartenders Emma and Amanda were both amazing. Anticipated our needs, remembered our names, totally excellent.

business

Came here for dinner with a work group. The service was good and everyone was super nice and prompt and did their best to make it a good experience for us. I found the signature cocktails ok. The apps and salads were great. The lobster mac n cheese was not the hype. and my steak was a disappointment. I actually sent it back to cook it more to order. And then it still wasn’t what I asked for and was grisly and I could barely cut it. I ordered a pittsburgh rare ribeye which they said they could do but obviously couldn’t. just say you can’t you know? a lot of restaurants can’t do a pittsburgh rare and that’s ok. I didn’t get dessert so I can’t say how they were. The crab cakes were delicious. I would go back but I would try some other steakhouses first if I return to Dallas.

Anniversary, well worth it..

By Duke1424 |

Absolutely terrific. Crab cake appetizer was not a full blown Maryland crab cake(been there and had them) but had big chunks of crab and was really good and wedge salad was tasty..Rack of lamb was large and was perfectly cooked and seasoned, with the smashed potatoes which were really good too. The surf turf(2 3oz filet medallions and lobster tail) was outstanding. The skillet potatoes with peppercorn sauce were a great compliment. The glazed carrot was not a disappointment and was great as well. Great in selection and Moscow mule. The brownie dessert was large and very rich but to die for good. We will be back, they were fantastic. Great service by Ashley and everyone was very polite and professional.

Loud obnoxious

By B B |

The food is still great. But the loud environment makes it impossible to enjoy the meal. The dress code trying to class up the place is somewhat of a joke, since a monster truck rally would bring a more considerate group of diners.

The perfect steak

By hdawg89 |

Went here as a group of 10, everyone opting for steak every one cooked to perfection! I had the fillet and it was outstanding! Service was great, suggestions were made without being pushy! Excellent wine list too!

Wow! One of the best.

By GRLTRAV |

If you happen to read any of my previous reviews, you can see I've eaten at a variety of steak houses. Bob's by far is one of the best. Service was outstanding - the waitress was friendly, interactive and seemed to anticipate everything we needed, prior to us asking. The supporting staff was also on their game. Never a dish left on the table, water glasses and bread basket always full. And now the food. My 8 oz filets was one of the best steaks I've ever had. We also ordered sides of brussel sprouts (outstanding!) and spinach. We asked if one onion ring could be brought to the table, and no questions asked it was there and huge. We would return.

really worth it...

By JR-FamilyTrips |

The food was phenomenal, it was the best steak I have ever had !!!...plus the waiters are very attentive and you wont be disappointed. I am hoping that a location opens up closer to home so I can go more often... There is a free parking garage close by if you don't want to do the valet thing...

The Best

Service started out perfectly. Food—amazing. Sommelier gave us the perfect wine. Service flagged. Managerial intervention. Flawlessly handled. Exquisite dessert. Our hearts are full

Remington Hotels President's Club Dinner

Excellent food and excellent service -- best in class experience from the team members that assisted us to the food we experienced. Super job all around I can not say enough how wonderful the night was!!! Thank you so much

Best in the Country!

By kmuller |

The food is always outstanding, and the servers are personable and skilled at making you feel at home. This location was the 1st Bob's and the only one where you can still meet Bob himself. This is our favorite steak anywhere in the country and the fish and sides are delicious too. Try the skillet fried potatoes. The bread is fresh baked and so good, be careful not to fill up before the main course. Drinks and martini's are on on point and nice pours of wine! We will keep coming back.
