OMG.. Fantastic food, a few new faces and the waffles are amazing!

By Vera i |

My husband and I came to eat breakfast at Bobbie's Cafe this morning and it was amazing. They had a short wait time, but it was worth the wait for fine food and company. My husband had the two-egg breakfast which came with two eggs, grits, bacon, and toast. The food was delivered quickly along with fresh coffee and cooked just as we ordered it. I had the waffle, eggs, and bacon plate and honestly the sugar pearl waffles were delicious! They make home cooked food with Bobbie’s original recipes. They are a family-owned and operated business with pictures of Bobbie herself on the wall. The Café is rich with family history right down to the old cash register. Do yourself a favor and make the drive, grab a cold bottle of water for your short wait, and get your own amazing food. We will absolutely recommend this place and we will be back.

Always a favourite

Never miss an opportunity to stop here while in San Antonio. Good old-fashioned food and terrific staff.

Great food, huge portions!

Great food, huge portions! Excellent service and so friendly and attentive. For a local breakfast place, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Sunrise Breakfast

By David F |

I ordered this morning an Early Sunrise Breakfast which included toast with the meal. I also ordered a coffee which I waited for 10 minutes to arrive with an apology from the server which indicated the cup, which was meant for me another server took, and she had to wash another cup for me. I waited for my breakfast which by the time the server brought to my table without the toast I had finished my coffee. She was about to leave without even asking if I wanted a refill when I mentioned where was my toast, and would she refill my cup of coffee? She apologized again for the lack of toast and told me the cook was getting the toast ready. After noticing the server attend new patrons arriving, I again asked where my toast was, because by that time 30 minutes approximately I was almost done with my breakfast. She again apologized and told me she would bring my toast. I at that point told her the toast would not be necessary now because I had already finished my breakfast. I also told the cashier what happen to my toast, and she apologized. I told her all the apologies were not going to make a difference, and asked her how long does it take to toast a couple of pieces of bread? How can anyone have breakfast without toast, not me. She had no reply but to say she was sorry. I asked her to deduct the to toast, and she refused. She could have at least deducted the coffee for the inconvenience, but she didn't. I am a disabled veteran and will definitely share my bad experience with my veteran brothers. My intentions were to start the day with a great breakfast and my experience at Bobbie's Cafe ruined it.

Worth the detour

By Bob A |

Stopped here for lunch on the way back to Georgetown. Well worth the detour. The friendliest staff that we have seen in a long tome. Food was great! I had Chicken Fried Steak (they REALLY load it up with gravy). It was tender and served with real mashed potatoes, I couldn't finish it all. Great prices also. My wife had the senior portion of C.F. chicken and praised it. If ever in the area again, I definitely would return!

Fast service

Having read good reviews about this place we went in with great expectations, but in the end we were disappointment. We ordered breakfast and the scrambled egg wasn’t cooked well at all. Parts of it was runny and others were burnt. Ordered biscuit and gravy and the biscuit was huge and delicious. Over easy Egg rancheros were good along with the flour tortillas.

GREAT FAMILY RESTRAUNT

This is a great place to simply just sit down and talk about your day and eat great food, like no other in TEXAS!

Best breakfast

We go here every year for breakfast while we are in town. Best biscuits and gravy 😋 hands down yummy and Price's are very reasonable. Looking forward to being there in November.

Real country feel

Fantastic place to eat! Real home-cooked country style food with great service and very friendly people. I highly recommend it especially if you're going for breakfast.

Best Chicken Fried Steak!!!

By MamguC |

Bobbie's reminds me of Cheer's, it's where everyone knows your name if you are regular and it doesn't take lone to become a regular. The food is good old fashioned home style cooking. I usually eat the chicken fried steak now that I live in Canada. If you want food food for a reasonable price Run Do Not Walk to Bobbie's.

Great Lunch for the Bunch

By valero5 |

Came here again for lunch while on this side of town for work. Little old building that may scare off the wimps but the food inside is so worth it. Great chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, onion rings, Texas toast , mashed potatoes and gravy! C'mon I know your mouth is watering. It should because it's all good! Fried fish is good too. Very nice staff and it just makes you feel like you went back a decade or two while inside but good old fashion food with nice manners never gets old. Love this place!

Solid Breakfast food

By @alanshoho |

My friend and I ate at Bobbie's Cafe for the 1st time after playing golf at Riverside Golf Course. He had a western omelette and thought it was filling and tasty with lots of ham and vegetables in it. I had a two eggs breakfast and it was good. The eggs were cooked to my liking (over easy). The sausage was good, but what impressed us was the biscuits that came with the meal. These biscuits are huge and they are cake-like. We both took our biscuits home, since we couldn't eat it with the meal. I ate my for breakfast the next day and it was excellent.

Coffee cups shrunk. Why?

By Jim B |

The food is ok and the waitresses are awesome. Why did the coffee cups get smaller? They used to have the large white cups and now they have these small cups that constantly need to be refilled. #cupisempty #alwaysneedingarefill #needanewdiner #wheresthecoffee

Not what I expected.

I ordered a soft taco plate, instead I was given a corn tortilla taco plate. The plate resembled more of an enchilada plate without the sauce. The tacos were rolled and covered in lettuce and tomatoes. My co-worker ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. It looked great, but he said the gravy didn't set well with his stomach. Was disappointed after seeing several reviews of the Soft Taco plate being so good.

Quick....and regrettable bite to eat

By Zeithria |

I have only been in Texas for about a year, and I can honestly say I have yet to be totally disgusted with a restaurant and there food.... Until Bobbys... This restaurant has a 4star rating on Google reviews, so I figured it must be at least decent... I was wrong. I got the two soft tacos, which were rolled (weird) and they did not have a chicken option. Thus, I was forced to have ground beef which was coated in cumin to give the allure of Mexican flavor with none of it's deliciousness. To be honest, it was borderline almost gross. The rice and beans were so bland, I'm not even sure of it was supposed to be rice and beans... Or baby food. The decor is extremely dingy to the point of a cleanliness concern. The food sat under a heat lamp for 5 mins while I watch our waitress and fellow coworkers talk because it was slow. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this unfortunate and gag-worthly restaurant.

Just off the Mission San Jose

By CSNY83 |

We ate at Bobbie's for lunch after a visit to the Mission San Jose National Park. This is a family run breakfast and lunch spot that serves tremendous food! Not only is it tremendously delicious, but the portions are tremendous. We had a late breakfast with beautiful omelets (omelets are usually overcooked) and enormous biscuits (truly a small loaf of bread). We hear the chicken fried steak is a favorite. This was a welcoming, friendly place with lovely owners. You won't regret a meal here. Or two.

Excellent brunch spot

Great southern food, friendly staff, try the peach cobbler pancakes, they are delicious! The waitlist moved very quickly. Recommend joining the waitlist prior to going.

Not a Cafe it is a diner

Salad was not fresh, fish was over fried and no taste to anything. I would not recommend. Waiter was very nice.

Great Omelets and big Biscuits

By @alanshoho |

My friend and I went to Bobbie's Cafe after playing golf at Riverside Golf Course. They have delicious omelets for breakfast and the biscuits are big and tasty. I highly recommend Bobbie's Cafe if you are in the area. I hope they open a 2nd location on the north side of San Antonio. They are always busy.
