Not so fun

By Arelis J |

My sister and I enjoy making a movie afternoon complete with early dinner. We love to try new places. We arrived at Boca Grill and there was a tall, nice, young lady with a high table taking names for your table. The place itself is small and we weren’t lucky, we got the first table at the entrance. Because we wanted to be on time for the movies we accepted. It was a nightmare. The door opened every minute. We ordered fried rice with chicken and the amount of oul/grease they spilled over made it impossible for us to eat. Our order included “tostones rellenos with chicken” and the plantains were extremely cold which let me to believe they were made and frozen in advance. The last part, probably the most interesting one, was the deserve, we ordered tres leches, it took forever, we needed to go to the movies and made the waiter aware, we told him to please bag the dessert to go, we couldn’ Wait any longer. To our surprise it included ice cream which was bagged and went we got out of the movies, we came home for coffee and desert, and we opened the bag we laughed. They never made us aware of it, it was our first time at their restaurant., for a while, we are not planning to go back to it.

Good food

Went in for dinner on Friday night. The place was packed and loud. We started with the tequenos and the cheese and they were awesome. We had the arroz chaufa with shrimp and it was great. The service was great including our server Luis. They need to get a bigger place. Will definitely be back.

Best cheat day

I love going to this place. The burgers, arepas and milkshakes are delicious ! I am coming back soon, for sure. Thank you to our waiter as well.

Yum!

We had dinner with a very large family group on a weekday evening. The service was attentive and friendly. The lomo saltado was delicious, with tender and flavorful beef. They have unique burgers that were also a hit. The Oreo cookie shake with chocolate churros and ice cream topping was amazing!

Amazing food and Service

One of the best meals I have ever had. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium. The chimichuri sauce on the side was to die for! I sat at the side since I was dining alone. The desserts they where making looked so good! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The staff is super friendly. Rafael was my servicer and helped me a great decision.

Excellent dining experience!

By Joe K |

We started with the appetizer sampler which had cheese sticks and mini arepas also, the plantain tostones which would have been a meal in itself. I tried the llaneras arepa. The steak was cooked perfectly (very tender ) combined with the cheese and guacamole it was the best arepa I have had. We finished with the Oreo Churros milkshake that looks impossible to finish after a big meal but It's a must to leave room for. (Or share). We'll eat here every time we are in Miami. I give it 5 stars!

Made a reservation but they had no tables!

By cybermom333 |

First time going to this location had a reservation and was turned away because they are not in sync with yelp. No offer of hey we are sorry here is a 10% please come back kinda of thing. The Doral location was excellent went without a reservation and was seated within 10 min and the food was excellent!!

Overpriced

By Robert L |

Service too slow. Packed over the posted limit. Food is of far quality, not extraordinary while the prices are. Pretentious and not worth the price. It was my second or third visit and I was not satisfied. For the prices they charge, there are lots of netter quality places. Theirs is a cafeteria atmosphere and prices are not.

Birthday lunch

I have no words to express how fresh, good and delicious the food was. This place is fenomenal the wait was a bit long since it’s a small restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had the noddles with Schrimp, good amount of food couldn’t eat it all. We arrived at 12:30 and had to wait for 30-45min. It was worth the wait! All te plate pictures you see attached are fenomenal.

Good, and fast ...

Loved it ! Great food and excellent service with Miguel!! Coming back for shakes cuz plates are big! Plenty of parkings the mall...so no worries!

Enticing food options

By ExtraUnderwear |

PROS: The food looks so good that it’s hard to decide what to order. I opted for the wok style noodles with lomo saltado and thought it was good — definitely better than the chicken with wok style noodles that my mom ordered. The atmosphere is lively and service was fine. CONS: The noodles were way too saucy, in my opinion. I wanted a piece of bread afterward to cleanse my palette. Also, the bowl is huge, but I still felt like there could have been more meat.

Absolutely Addicting!

I will admit, I went to Bocas Grill twice in the last week. FIrst, was for lunch in which, I thought the portions and prices were on point. The food was amazing. I had the Pollo Saltado and couldn't resist the nutella crepe. Then, we went back on Sunday, so my family could enjoy. My kids are really picky, yet all three loved the churasco with fries. Again, I ordered the pollo saltado (why mess with perfection??) and enjoyed it. In fact, the leftovers are in the oven right now. We all shared the cookes and cream shake. I will definitely be back!

Amazing food quality and service!

Don't miss the opportunity of trying the food here! extremely tasty! and the best of all is the artisanal coffees made by LuisFer ! they are to die for! Ask him for any design he's got it!

Delicious. Our second time

By yellow-ishy |

Delicious. Our second time here and we loved it both times. Juliana was a great server and super attentive even though the place was packed. Highly recommend.

Decent place

Good service. Laura was our waitress, she was very nice. Food is decent but my lomo saltado was a little bit salty. Need to improve wine selection.

Authentic, Informal Latin spot with great food

By Scott W |

Had lunch here recently. It is located in a strip mall so ample parking. No outside seating. Inside seating is a bit tight but tables not too close together. Very bright and modern appearance. Known for its arepas that are to die for. Many different combinations and very filling. Their menu is quite varied with a number of latin dishes but also some asian wok/noodle influence as well. Also their milkshakes look to be amazing and their freshly prepared fruit juices/smoothies are delicious. I had the arepa llanera (arepa stuffed with tasty steak morsels, white cheese, tomato/avocado/onion mixture and a sour sop (guanabana) juice. Very fresh. It was great. The place fills up but things move along quickly but the noise level was very good unlike many Miami restaurants.. The cortadito coffee was sublime. Our service was pleasant, fast and efficient. Will definitely go back

AMAZING SERVICE

By lourdesf895 |

We went for dinner at bocas grill and our server deserved a review because she went above and beyond with our needs, her name was Carolina. We will be back anytime soon!

Pleasantly surprised

By SearchBroward |

My husband and I where looking for a place to eat had heard about this place because of their dessert didn't have the dessert ended up going with a breakfast food was extremely delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely be back for that dessert

Went looking for real Latin-American food, but this is mostly Venezuelan.

By mgildelamadrid@yahoo.com |

Wife have to ask twice because some plates in menu were not available. I asked for a "Classic Burger" and the waiter told me that the Classic wasn't available, only the Boca Burger (same thing but with bacon, fried egg etc.) and of course with a higher price! The waiter said i should order de Boca and they will take out the additional stuff I don’t want. We think that this is a wrong way to force you with the higher priced plates. We could add that the fries were cold, the fish plate was not great. We end up paying restaurant prices for cafeteria style place. This was the worst experience with Latin-American restaurant in Florida. If you want good and real Latin or Caribbean go to any Cuban rest…much better..

OMG amazing food!

I'm Peruvian and the lomo saltado arepa is a mix of Peruvian and Venezuelan food as amazing as it can get! Sangria is out of this world! Packed place. Great service!

Great people! We had a meeting after dinner and our server managed to bring our order very promptly. We all enjoy their food and drinks.... a very nice experience.

Friends' Luncheon

By Dianna I |

We had a delicious Sunday "Lun-Din" here. While the wait for a table was long, about 45 minutes, our service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and very accommodating of a few special requests our large party made. This is a small location so it seemed a bit loud and busy; however, this did not distract at all from the quality of the food. Definitely will go back!

Not Impressed

By Ivi M |

So the food is fair and overpriced. The location is very small so it was very smoky inside the restaurant. The milkshakes we a disappointment. So sad because that’s why we went. The service was great though. Staff was very attentive and checked in with us frequently. All in all I don’t think I’ll go back. 😞

Excellent attention and divine food!!!

Wanted to go because of the recommendations of friends and family. We were delighted: great attention and even more better food. The tequeños and arepas were very good. Definitely worth the visit.

Came across this restaurant by chance, so glad we decided to stay. Really delicious Venezuelan soup ( more like a hearty stew), and fab chicken and avocado arepa. Highly recommended

Fun, tasty, meh

By Stuart King |

Good Food, Friendly Staff, and a Check-In Issue Had dinner at Bocas Grill Kendall, and overall, it was a good experience. The picanha had great flavor, but it was tough, which was a little disappointing. The tequeños were spot on, and the portions were huge—definitely a good place if you’re hungry. Very friendly staff and a family-friendly atmosphere, which made for a nice dining experience. The white and red sangria were both lovely—definitely worth ordering. If you book on OpenTable, make sure they check you in. They forgot to mark us as arrived, which could be a hassle if you’re tracking reservations or earning points. The place has a fun vibe, the food is solid, and I’d go back—but I’d probably order something other than the picanha next time.

Amazing restaurant

Amazing!

This restaurant is delicious! Arepa llanera was so good! the tequenos were so delicious too! My kid had a burger that was out of this world! Will definitely go back!

Excellent place to eat

By rolymar |

We were recommended here by a co-worker and very glad we went. We started by ordering the white sangria and an order of tostones with cheese on top. Everything was delicious. We shared a burger and it was perfect because it was big enough to share. The churros with Nutella and Dulce de Leche are a must try. Our waiter Miguel was very nice and full of suggestions. Great place would absolutely go back.

Bad service

By David G |

The service was terrible. Had to wait more than 20 mins for the order to come. Plus new customers comes in order their food and get their food while I'm still waiting for my order to come. Need to work on that. Also the manners of responding to a question very rude.

Like Christopher Columbus you will need at least four trips!!!!

By frez |

Lured by the incredible pictures flashed on social media by regular people we visited this new joint in West Kendall. The place is a bit small, and you might need to wait. Once inside, the walls are tiled, so it makes it very, and I mean very loud. Acoustically not very friendly, and tables are very close to each other. Now to the food: it is a combination of peruvian and venezuelan, A menu with many appetizing options, arepas, chauffa, tostones rellenos, arepas rellenas, lomo saltado, churrasco, pollo saltado, huge burgers....and those milk shake desserts!!!.....prices are very reasonable, except for the dessert that can set you back $18....however, it can feed four hungry souls....one is enough for four people after you ate your huge meal. Two empanadas rellenas, a steak tallarines, a huge burger (Le Cesar), tequenos and arepitas for appetizer, (best tequeños), three beers and one Nutella and churro milk shake came up to $130 including gratuity.....our first trip was a success!!!...looking four to the next three!!.

I have visited this place twice in two weeks and my first visit was one week ago.

Excellent food, the best Venezuelan chicha I have tried since I tried my last in Venezuela over 27 years ago. Food portions are very generous, servers are constantly around the tables and ambience is very conducive for families and couples alike. Food presentation is also outstanding. My only concern is that they do not have enough tables/space for the expected crowd once the words gets all out. We went (two adults and two children) on a weekday at around 6 pm and had to wait 20 min for a table and it just opened on March 31, 2017. HIGHLY recommended but go fast before the waiting list hits the double digits.

Delicious food and great service

By mwooduk |

Our first time here, and the food was delicious. Hats off to Sabrina our server, who knew every item on the menu and was able to recommend different dishes to us. The food was fantastic, especially the salad I had, which was an absolute work of art, and the Picanha steak melted in your mouth. Highly recommended.

OMG! The dessert is a dream!!

By Debby19Frank |

I can't get over the dessert 🤤🤤🤤 the food was awesome. The only down fall is the place is kind of small so plan with time it gets very crowded. Totally worth the wait

Awesome place to eat, so glad I tried it.

By Lyvshalker |

One of the best restaurants in the area. Really a hidden gem I'd say. Their truffle burgers and wok-smoked dishes are a must try! The staff is really friendly and helpful as well.

Great comfort food

By ifagundo |

We went because people rave about the food. There is always a wait time because the place in Kendall is tiny, but once you are in OMG great food and great service. Try the arepas and their lemonade to die for, we did not have dessert because we were full but they looked delicious. Will go back for breakfast and yes they are Venezuelan. Highly recommended!

Nice environment but expensive

By Jensi17 |

We like the food, the tequenos are really good, but the Arepas was too hard, the server was wonderful, very expensive considering to can find all the ingredients in USA, they didn't offer any kids menu, no Kids friendly at all, We know the restaurant made Venezuelan people feel comfortable in USA, it's important be Global, because on the American culture, the Kids are very important. The place is too small and the coffee is good but the cup had coffee spots.

Worth EVERY penny!

By yg2418 |

This place is amazing! We had been wanting to try it out because of all the great things we had heard from family and friends. We finally went, and we were not disappointed! We ordered a sampler style platter as a family appetizer. Everything was delicious, especially the dipping sauces they give you. My husband and I both ordered a passion fruit sangria that was to die for...needless to say, we had two each. For a main course my son and I ordered the lomo saltado. This was one of the best we’ve ever had! The portions are really large, so this dish can be shared between a mother and child, I wouldn’t go as far as saying a husband and wife lol. My husband ordered the Arroz al wok mixto, and it was delicious. Also a very large portion of rice. For dessert we couldn’t help but order the Nutella milkshake which comes topped with Nutella churros. The size of this shake and toppings is unreal. It can definitely be shared as well, and is SO worth the calories. When we received the bill we were happy to pay it. Everything about this dinner was perfect, including our server. He took his time to explain everything since it was our first time, and made the best suggestions. We will back this weekend!

Not a good experience

By Ximerca |

I’ve just been there a couple of days ago with some friends but we didn’t like it. First, the ambiance it’s not very appealing, it’s like a cafeteria with expensive prices. Second, the room temperature was ok at the beginning and freezing when we got served. Third, the juices we ordered were too diluted you could barely taste the fruit. Fourth, when we finally got served our food was cold, the meat in particular. We could also tell that the arepas weren’t fresh because they were hard even to cut them with knife and fork. Fifth, the prices were a little expensive... My recommendation is to improve everything if you want customers to come back... you’ve just lost 5 customers!
