Wonderful!!!

Went to Bodega on our last night in San Fran. We were not disappointed!! Warm intimate atmosphere, wonderful service and fabulous food. Oh yes, and a great wine list! We had the Persian Cheese Plate, Short Rib Tacos and Mexican Street Corn. All were amazing!!!

Enjoyed our drinks here

Friendly place. Bright and tasteful decor on a busy corner in North Beach. Small but interesting collection of wine and beer. We did not order any of the small plates, so we can't comment directly. The group of locals at the next table said they enjoyed their food and recommended the short rib tacos .

Worthless.

Very disappointing, lady behind the bar only busy on her own phone. Didn't switch weirdos with her. Don't go there!!

Well worth a visit

I visited Bodega soon after it was opened in August 2016. The bar is located on Columbus Avenue and offers a variety of drinks and snacks. Because of its atmosphere I recommend this place especially to visitors who want to get the feel of the San-Francisco vibe. Pro-tip: have a chat with the staff, they’re super friendly.

Stumbled across this little gem

Lovely place, great drinks and atmosphere. We weren't planning to eat here but the food coming out looked so good we couldn't resist! Glad we gave in, it was delicious! Especially recommend the brussel sprouts and the mushrooms on toast.

Delightful Wine and Food Discovery in North Beach

By jeff l |

Bodega, a wine bar and cafe, is a new and very welcome addition to North Beach in San Francisco. There is a fascinating collection of Argentine, Spanish, Portuguese and even Turkish wines to sample. There are excellent craft beers as well. These can be accompanied by very tasty home cooked dishes including an avocado egg toast or short rib tacos to die for. Bodega is a very warm and friendly spot where locals come to relax and have a bite. We we return often for a sip of delicious wine and an equally delicious sampling of the savory food. Highly recommended

Great food, great beer, great music!

The food here was fantastic! Three dishes are perfect for two people to share. We had the sweet potato tacos, beef rib tacos and the pork with black bean dish, all absolutely delicious and with a nice kick of spice. The beer was also excellent, the staff were friendly and full of great advice and music was excellent too (you don't usually hear Grizzly Bear, Snoop Dogg, Tame Impala and Run The Jewels in the same place!)

Exceptional tiny find!

We stumbled into this place as we were walking to dinner. Crowded for good reason as it's small and great. Loved the Scribe rose wine and highly recommend the brussel sprouts starter. It is sautéed with jalapenos and feta cheese. AWESOME! Only wish they delivered long distance...

Great for Light bites!

Was on my way to see Beach Blanket Babylon and trying to find something simple and light in a sea of old school Italian restaurants. Saw the menu online and decided to give it a shot. I was there on a slow night (NBA finals, everyone out was at a sports bar) But the place is airy, clean, streamlined and simple. I had a great glass of malbec and the panzanella with arugula, peaches and goat cheese. Both were the perfect nosh to fill my tummy without going overboad on gnocchi or clam chowder. Great aried menu, nice wine list, great service.

The place to have mimosas

We went here on Sunday afternoon. The place is very cosy and full of daylight. The perfect spot for mimosas! I will definetly come here again!

Favorite spot

This place was awesome! Small, windows that open to the street, cute decor. They were playing 90s and 00s rap/hiphop music (nothing hardcore, but it was awesome). Staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. Didn't try the food but it looked and smelt good! The bathroom was not lit very well but not the worst.

Great find!

Happened onto this place in San Francisco with no expectations. The food was delicious. The Brussel Sprouts were some of the best I've had. Not with the typical greasy bacon or anything. A little kick from jalapeños oddly enough, but balanced out really well by feta. I got the cheese plate which came with a lot of herbs and bread. Again not a "typical" dish, but fantastic. Then I ordered the Argentinian sandwich but my receipt at the end said pork shoulder, so I'm not totally sure what it was. It came with black beans, green salsa and tender meat deliciousness with a couple slices of bread (perhaps deconstructed sandwich and the receipt was wrong). It was awesome. When I'm back in SF I'll make my way here again.

Nice place, Great drinks

Friendly people, good Beers, good wines. Good place to sit down and drink a few beers. Not the typical us bar, more European influences.

Stay away from this place at any price!

We sat down for a drink on the way back from the harbour air show, to let the traffic clear so we could call a cab. Whilst the service was reasonable, we only ordered three drinks, served at the same time. In my opinion the 'tipping' culture in America is completely out of hand with everyone expecting a tip for little or no service, and irrespective of the standard of service, with a 'suggested' gratuity being printed on the bottom of most bills with a general range from 15% to 25%, depending on the venue. This venue takes it one stage further and alters the authorised tip to the value that the server expects to receive once you have left the premises. I wonder how often that happens - you can now expect to deal with my credit card company for the refund!

We loved it!

Amazing Tapas, lovely people working there! The perfect beer after a whole touristic day! Strongly recommended!

Great place for drinks!

We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food (other than to say that other people's food looked really good). Knowledgeable, attentive staff who were able to give some recommendations when asked. Friendly, laid back atmosphere. Good range of wines (some regional, some from further afield), draught and bottled beers and some specials. Cool place, recommended.
