We really enjoyed our new neighborhood spot. It's a nice unique Cajun seafood joint with boiled and fried seafood. If you just want good fried seafood, Steamhouse and Six Feet Under are just as good for less. Now for the other unique items such as crawfish smoked Gouda mac, go to Bon Ton. The drink menu is also worth a visit. Try the chargrilled oysters....not quite as good as some of the NOLA spots but still damn good! Give this place a try....great with friends or just sitting at the bar in this new vibrant little spot!

I have been here three times. Food is good no complaints. Drinks are okay. Service was really great my 1st visit all if the staff was super friendly. However, by the 3rd visit staff wasnt as friendly. my compliants: limited menu after a certain time and they take a long time to seat you. I'm here now 1245am, took 5 min for the hostess to come to the front and even longer for the server to come. My fav item to order is the catfish po boy.

Brendan was the best waiter! Aside from offering recommendations, he regularly and enthusiastically serviced our table. I ordered the fried cod and a side of coleslaw. All of the sides are a la carte, by the way. The coleslaw had a really unique taste to it...and I could see myself going back to get more. The cod was good with a nice crunchy batter, although the portion size could have been larger...especially when compared to other restaurants serving larger pieces of fried fish that come with at least a side of fries. Again, service was excellent...and that goes a long way.

The experience at this restaurant was great! If you aren't looking for this restaurant, you would miss it. The people there was very nice and service was pretty fast. My friends and I ordered crab legs to share and after eating them, we all agreed, we should have gotten more for an entree. I will definitely go back the next time I am in Atlanta.

I have been searching for a restaurant in Atlanta serving food with an authentic New Orleans taste I think I have finally found it. Although there are several a la carte dishes offered here, the majority of the menu is inspired by Louisiana cuisine and full of flavor!

This is a great place to eat but if you don't get there early enough there can be quite a long wait. I like the steamed shrimp by the pound. I always think I will eat all I can and take the rest home but I always end up eating the entire pound because it is so good!

Loved this place! The food, service and atmosphere were great! Fun craft cocktails ($9-12), the best poutine (sweet potato fries and gravy, $8?), Falafel Banh-Mi and a to-die-for Cajun shrimp burger FULL of whole shrimp, lots of flavor and very little filler. Will be back the next time I'm in town!

The place is kind of shabby. We started with charbroiled crab claws, that tasted fishy. My friend had charbroiled oysters that she enjoyed. I had half a catfish po’ boy and a side of red beans and rice. I didn’t care for the dressing on my sandwich. I think I would have enjoyed the catfish and bread by itself. The red beans and rice were good. They were out of first two choices of liquor, Crown Royal and Jameson, so not complicated. Beer could have be colder. Bartender, Northstar, was nice and our server, Cheyenne, was sweet and attentive.

I had just heard about this spot on WABE from my trusted foodie Mara Davis, so we tried it. The food was great, service was excellent. Thanks Bobby.

I had a lovely lunch with friends to celebrate my birthday at Bon Ton. The ambiance is casual and a bit nostalgic in a good way. The service was efficient and attentive. The food was yummy. We started with the crab claws and order the mussels and po-boys. The parking lot was full so we ended up parking on the street a few blocks away. Will be back!

We're not from Atlanta and we were craving Cajun Crawfish. Our local friend brought us here and did not disappoint! I worried it would have had a Vietnamese flair in the crawfish (which isn't bad, but I was wanting Cajun Louisiana style) and Bon Ton did not disappoint! The seasoning was spot on! The tiki cocktails were strong and delicious. The crawfish mac & cheese is amazing! The raw oysters were great. The sweet potato poutine is sweet, as in, it has powdered sugar all over it, and not as much gravy and cheese I was hoping for. We ate dinner at 9am, so the crawfish by that point were a little over done in their shells, but I bet if were were to have had dinner at 7pm they would have been perfect. The seasoning was great, atmosphere is fun. Service was impeccable- they served us drinks and appetizers while we waited on out table. I'd certainly return.

Stopped in here on a whim for late night bites and cocktails. The FiftyFiftyFifty cocktail is excellent, as is the Smoked Bourbon Mai Tai. Bartender was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Charbroiled Poutine and Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese (with crawfish) were on-point. Atmosphere was chill, but fun- kinda modern-meets-tiki-bar.

We had read about this place or saw it on TV - and that made us want to try it. Be advised that parking on the street is not easy but there are numerous parking lots or valet parking available nearby. Don't be put off by the looks of the place - go inside and look at the menu.... if you don't like it after that then there's something wrong with you!!! They have a great choice of specialty cocktails so check them out first. We all had different sandwiches - they were huge!!! Great taste - we had crab cake, catfish and shrimp so we each had some of each others - yumbo!!! Check it out and don't be tempted to change your mind and go to the more popular places that you'll pass!!!

If you are in Atlanta come here the food is excellent next time I'm down here visiting my daughter will be back

If you are looking to grab a bite before a show at the Fox in downtown Atlanta, this place is the perfect blend of MidTown Atlanta meets New Orleans. Grilled Oysters on the half shell were great and went down WAY too fast. Nice selection of featured house cocktails if you are feeling adventurous. Southerners love their fried food and whatever you order, you will be asked if you would like to have it in a basket of fries and hush puppies, both of which are good. Blackened Catfish po' boy did not disappoint. It was a busy Saturday night and if you are in a hurry or on a timeline to see a show, go early and allow plenty of time. Mind you, not slow service but there are not setting any speed records and the bartenders seem to be working down a long list of orders for the entire time we were there. I ordered my second drink while half way through the first one. We had a seat by the window and the atmosphere was great. Definitely captures the character and flavor of the Big Easy and the quality of the food and beverage offerings at Bon Ton will not disappoint. Good fried oysters! If you are dining before a show, make a reservation and add in 30 minutes. I shall return!

The trek down from OTP was totally worth it. Excellent, & I mean EXCELLENT, service was provided by David who was not only super personable, but also walked us through the entire menu. We ordered a little of everything off the menu but really enjoyed the fried crawfish, papaya salad, corn fritters, & bbq shrimp. The boiled seafood was your standard fare but the fried seafood had an excellent crispy texture (& the fries & hushpuppies were delish!). Honorable mention goes to the smoked bourbon Mai Tai, it was my favorite of the very creative cocktail offerings I sampled (next time I'm totally trying the frozen Vietnamese coffee, sounds stupid delicious!). Totally dug the atmosphere & bar area, we'll definitely be back soon. (P.S. - the only thing that bummed me out was the lack of desserts. Interested to see what the offerings will be in the future!)

We found this amazing hidden gem online and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh tasty and delicious. The drinks have a unique twist and the mule-ah was a fan favorite

Average food. Average drinks. Average place. I read several reviews that rave about this place. I am not sure what they are raving about, unless they were drunk and actually thought they were eating good food. I had the house boil. Good sized portion, but the crab, shrimp, clams, and mussels were totally over cooked. The potatoes were hard and the corn was mushy. My wife had the boiled crawfish. They were over cooked too. Too many better options in ATL.

This was a funky restaurant/bar. The food was really delicious, especially the crab boil. Our server was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend a visit here.

We had reservations, which I highly recommend. It is a small restaurant but SO much personality. Very funky vibe. We got drinks which were amazing. And my hubby and I shared a seafood boil. It did NOT disappoint! It was a lot of good and SO delicious and fun. Our waitress was awesome wish I would have caught her name! She noticed my Hello Forty t shirt and told her we were celebrating my 40th birthday and she said my drink was on the house! SO nice!! Best birthday dinner I have had! Thanks for a great night out!!

This seems to be a very popular spot, but I did not understand all the hype. There were only a few "fusion" items on the menu. The boil was unnecessarily spicy without any interesting flavor to compensate for the heat. The fries were hot and crisp but the fried crawfish needed a little more seasoning.

My favorite meal while I was in Atlanta, and the bartender was the most fun. The drinks were so good, and I tried a few. The only thing better than the drinks and food was the atmosphere. This was a great stop after catching a show at the Fox Theater and heading back to my bed and breakfast in Midtown. Enjoy!

Unique experience all around. We all had a great time eating and drinking at the bar. Wait for a table was around an hour on a busy Friday night. Asian and cajun fusion is the theme I believe. All the food was well liked. Gumbo was outstanding and shrimp po boy was great. Draws a great eclectic mix of people from all over the city but mostly the local neighborhood people in this midtown gem.

I saw this place on Instagram from a friend and thought id try it since we were in the area. I love the pink color of the building, easy to recognize. Be warned parking is a nightmare. But that is to be expected in the area. greeted very pleasantly when we walked in.. the decor was cool. Being from NOLA there were some things (decor) that reminded me of home, which was kinda nostalgic. I ordered the "platter" it was decent for ATL. But its a bit pricey for the small proportion. But hey it's Atlanta.. I have VERY low expectations for fresh seafood in this town. Lol If you need a trendy spot that serves seafood that is cooked well, this is a good option. I would say the drinks and bar is the highlight of this place for sure.

How did I NOT know this place existed?! It’s right in my wheelhouse...Cajun Seafood with my motherland of Vietnam accents. My friend rolled into town from TX suggested it for eats and drinks. We sat at the bar and had raw oysters with both cocktail sauce and mignonette (rare occasion around these parts), Blackened Catfish Banh Mi, and a jumbo crab cake. And lots of libations!! I was VERY skeptical of the Banh mi until I sunk my teeth into it. Hellz yeah!! Crab cake was fried to perfection and the oysters were deeeeelish. Customer service, ambiance, and food 100%!!! Not quite sure of the parking situation bc I Ubered. Don’t know if they have a valet...regardless I will be back and pay to park. Worth every penny!!

Went with work group. Very casual; groups, date night, kids. Loud and friendly. Drinks delicious and beer/wine selection good, especially given the menu. Great taste of LA; fried catfish, hush puppies, vegetarian salads good and spicy. About 10 minutes from downtown by car; 30-minute walk if you’re up to it. Busy with students; very alive on a Sat night.

I was disappointed with my experience here. I received my food without utensils. When my server came over about 7-10 after my food arrived I asked for the fork. Then I saw her standing talking and laughing with the bartender with my fork in her hand for over a minute, knowing I couldn’t eat my food without that fork. Then there was a 20% gratuity added on my check; a single diner that got very bad service. Needless to say I will not be spending my money here again.

We were uncomfortably seated under an air conditioner in the middle of winter, showing a lack of attention to temperature control. Ambient volume was loud. The most frustrating aspect was the deceptive pricing. Menu prices at the restaurant were shockingly 20-50% higher than those listed online, on the Bon Ton website itself. Coupled with the mandatory 20%, the food prices were much higher than anticipated. The mandatory 20% service charge, although transparent, felt steep considering the overall experience. A particular disappointment was the charbroiled oysters. Served barely cooked, they were unappetizing, and my attempt to address this issue was poorly handled. The manager took the partially eaten dish back to the kitchen (questionably against health regulations) for further cooking and still charged us for it, despite implying the contrary. Unfortunately, not a pleasant dining experience. $100 for a hit or miss dinner for two people (with a single $5 drink) led to a poor value for money. Had the food and atmosphere been consistent, it may have been worth it.

We had the chargrilled oysters and gumbo. Really great choices. The double fried shrimp 🍤 was a lot and cooked perfect. My son had the fried double crawfish. Huge basket full of crawfish. Great taste. My daughter had the crabcake sandwich. Not loaded with crab meat. Plenty of parking. The service was excellent!!! Great prices too. I'd recommend this restaurant and would go back!!!

IT’S SO LOUD IN HERE WE CANT HEAR OURSELVES EAT!!! Seriously, we are shouting at each other, everyone is shouting and it’s making the delicious food taste less delicious. More like a very loud club than a restaurant. I guess they don’t want to attract anyone over the age of 30 which is a shame. Can’t recommend it very highly because of the noise level. Ridiculous. 2nd visit and last.

I visited this place for lunch today, and was amazed that for a restaurant that came highly recommended, it fell short on food satisfaction, at least for me. You see, I work hard like most people for every “red cent”, and when I choose to spend it, I like that I enjoy spending it. The crab cakes were doughy as well as the hush puppies I had, the fried catfish wasn’t seasoned enough, and I know, I know, it ain’t like Aunty Lula Mae’s home cookin’, but by golly, gimme some flavor and not all the hype! The fries were very good, so kudos to the fry guy back there. I like second chances, and I’m willing to try.......but...it’ll be a little while. Usually when you go to an eatery or restaurant around lunch time, and you see just a “few folks” inside, but yet, their neighbor next door is almost to capacity?..... step back and ask yourself...WHY is this? Also folks, tell your guys when they take boxes outside that back door, wash their darn hands before touching anything in that kitchen...please and thanks. That’s all!

Very average seafood. Small serving. Overpriced. Main Ingredient was potato Much better Seafood elsewhere. Visitors from Australia. When we say fishy! We mean dodgy! Not good..... Worst meal in. USA for 3 weeks.

I discovered a METAL SCREW in my fried catfish upon chewing and trying to swallow my food. The screw was cooked into the food making it undetectable to the eye. I scratched my tongue and the inside of my mouth trying to chew and swallow the food as I thought it was a crispy part of the catfish. This was terribly alarming. I immediately returned to the restaurant and calmly asked to speak with the GM or owner. The GM took my name and contact information and assured me that the owner would be in touch with me on Friday, June 20th. Out of respect, I waited for a call or email… It is now Saturday, June 21st 1:27 pm, and I still have not been contacted, even after sending an email this morning, June 21st, at 9:00am. The lack of accountability and acknowledgement for my suffering is disappointing. That silence reads loud and clear that this restaurant DOES NOT care. Frankly, it’s unacceptable. It signals a failure in leadership and a disregard for guests' SAFETY and well-being. When I brought this issue to the GM’s attention in person, her response was not only dismissive but also troubling. She stated, “It’s 10pm—what do you want me to do?” Unfortunately, a life-threatening incident doesn’t work on a schedule! If that screw had been swallowed or caused internal harm, a simple apology or refund would not have sufficed, and honestly, with trauma it has caused, still doesn’t. Even more disturbing was her admission that she wouldn’t even be able to explain the issue to the cook because he doesn’t speak English. That tells me two things: 1.) She couldn’t possibly communicate the gravity of the situation to him. 2.) There is no way for him to explain how something this irresponsible happened. That is a serious breakdown in SAFETY, communication, and accountability in your kitchen. Please note that my interaction with the staff was recorded. I wanted to give the owner(s) the opportunity to address this directly before escalating to the next steps. Hopefully, BON TON will take this seriously and respond with the urgency and professionalism this situation warrants and PUT CUSTOMER SAFETY FIRST!

Heard that Bon Tons was a great restaurant to have dinner. They did not disappoint. Waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was so good. Atmosphere was quirky. Highly recommend.

A friend suggested that our group of friends go there for a birthday lunch. Relaxing atmosphere, friendly wait-staff, great food selections, and delicious seafood. A great new restaurant tucked in the heart of Midtown!

Bon Ton is definitely worth a visit whilst you’re in Atlanta! All of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and took the time to have a genuine chat. The menu is FULL of so many incredible dishes that one visit really isn’t enough. We loved the gumbo and the mac and cheese, but the crab and shrimp looked divine as well. Great bar inside and outdoor seating available too.

The decor is exceptional: Meticulously designed mid-century retro, meets modern chic, with a nod at Tiki culture. Reminded me of the interior decorator of SOS (Tiki bar and lounge in Decatur), but stepped up a notch. Clean, classy, elegant, bathrooms are impeccably designed as well (with the exception of the mirror - looks like someone poured nail polish all over the glass). The ambiance is chic/hip/cool. The mood is festive, the lighting cavernous and dim. The service was ok. Although we were first on the list to be seated, our group of 7 got smushed into a tiny booth, elbows to elbows, dishes didn't even fit on our table, we were breathing on each other, and although we were friends, it was uncomfortable to sit in such proximity. A group who was after us on the waitlist was seated in a large spacious table (that should have gone to our group, but I guess the other group had some "pull" or something). Our sever was frazzled, absent-minded, and a a bit short with us, though never rude or anything like that. Just like the world was falling on him and he didn't have time for customers. The food was good, but not five stars. It did arrive quickly, and the portions were generous (though for the price, the portions were ok since a boil was $30). Our table ordered several boils, several sandwiches and fries. I ordered the moules frittes (muscles and fries) and a papaya and jicama salad which was mostly just mushy pickled jicama, papaya and a lot of heat. Both of the dishes we ordered were ok, but lacked depth and originality. Literally the salad was just a couple of pickled vegetables clumped on top of butter lettuce to look like a "papaya salad" but there was no marriage between the pickled papaya/jicama and the butter lettuce. There seemed to be no thought behind the dish. The textures were all the same - mushy, watery, and the flavors were flat- vinegar and heat. The moules frittes were good, but also one note. The broth had potential, but the muscles didn't seem to have been in the broth for too long because the flavor of the broth did not transcend into the muscles. The sauce was a bit watery and weak in texture. The fries were good, but nothing extraordinary. BYOB was definitely a plus. The only thing that was confusing was that the concept was New Orleans comfort food, but the dishes included a take on a Papaya salad (Thailand), while the Moules Frittes evoked France, the Banh Mi featured Korean flavors, the Smoked Bourbon May Thay (not yet available) was reminiscent of the South Pacific, and French Polynesia, while the ambiance/decor was in opposition to the food inspiration/concept. So it was all a bit confusing like the restaurant was having some sort of identity crisis. Parking took a bit on a Saturday night, but we managed to snag a spot in the back lot. Maybe uber/lyft might be better. I may come back to try their smoked bourbon May Thay. Though it was on the menu none of their cocktails will be available until they obtain their liquor license. Overall, a good time.

The restaurant is just called Bon Ton and does a great job of preparing superb catfish and other seafood, sides, and delicious hand pies. We live just a few blocks away and love the place . The fried catfish is always fresh with a crispy cornmeal crust. Staff is super friendly with to go or dine-in options. So good !

Catfish was juicy and delicious! So we're the creme brulee hand pies. We went in here while we were waiting to go and Mary Macs and wound up just eating at Bon Ton.

A quick note…. If you can uber or walk here that is the best advice I can give. The lot in the back is limited and when full hard to get in and out of, and this is an area of town that is mostly “residence only parking” on the streets and the Atlanta ticket brigade swarm here in search of easy targets. I don’t hold this against the restaurant it’s just good to know before you go. We sat at the bar on a Friday night which filled up quickly. Atmosphere is fun. Mostly casual. Bar tenders are busy but they deserve recognition because they stayed on top of food and drink orders for us all during our entire stay. This is a New Orleans themed restaurant so drinks are important and they do a good job. The frozen pimms cup was very good especially in the hot summer sun. That was probably my favorite drink. The Hurricane is good! Though I wished it contained a little more liquid and a little less ice. The Painted Snipe was a good selection to try though I don’t think I would order it again. Just not my favorite. They have some good canned/bottled beers to choose from but no draft yet (or at least no that night). As for the food. Good stuff all around. The Boiling point peanuts were a great starter. A little messy but the seasoning on them was very flavorful. We really enjoyed it. I had a whole catfish po boy. Fantastic. The bread was soft but very good. Fish was fried perfectly. I probably should only eat a half of one but I had no regrets having the whole it was so damn tasty. My wife tried the single fried shrimp and made it a basket with hush puppies and fries. She enjoyed the shrimp and said they were very good. I tried a hush puppy it was solid, but the Fries! So good. Thick fries that were excellent. I would happily go back here. We almost went back the same weekend, but changed plans at the last minute. This is going to be a fun place to go for food and drinks for a long time.

We went there during our stay in Atlanta on a recommendation from friends, and they were so right! This place is awesome! great atmosphere and friendly staff.

First time there, but when I'm in town I'll be back! Seasonings were amazing- perfect combo of Vietnamese and Cajun! Even the music vacillated between those two worlds. Since we brought a pal of my son's there for his bday, he was gifted with Lagniappe... this time steamed peanuts boiled in seafood stock with Vietnamese spices and such. Quite good and addictive. Had Gulf oysters on the half and Vietnamese meatballs as apps. Both really good. Meals were po boy with shrimp and incredible gouda mac and cheese, a se asian bowl with blackened catfish and a shrimp boil. Everything was crazy delicious. Highly recommend it all! Owner/Chef was visible and talked to us often- server was a sweetheart- they got us in after a phone call even when Open Table said they have no openings.... call them for sure! Only drawbacks- a bit understaffed, as it took a while for drinks and refills.... food came pretty quickly tho. out of too many beers, sadly. and what cajun place doesn't serve Abita Turbo Dog? bummer. and a bit too pricey, but then again not all that expensive... fair value I suppose. other than that, I strongly advise you to check it out. cool place in cool part of town. diverse, eclectic, funky, delicious, awesome!

My friend was looking for a fun place to have dinner while in town for a conference. This place looked cool online but the place is disgusting. There was this horrible smell throughout the whole restaurant and it made the food taste nasty. The food was bland and just unappealing. Then the service was horrible. The waitress wouldn’t not speak to us and then ignored us when we were done so we sat and waited trying to get our bill for 15 minutes or more because she was just gone. Just don’t go. So many other places in the area that you could visit.

Their small parking lot is a bit of a challenge with one way in and one way out, causing complications with street traffic being blocked by people attempting to navigate the chokepoint between the lot and the street. We arrived a little after 5pm the Sunday before Christmas for dinner and there was a very short wait for a bench table. There are a variety of seating arrangements including about four booths, three bench tables, counter seats, bar seating, and four-person tables. The restaurant serves Vietnamese-Creole fusion seafood and sips. But during the Christmas season, the restaurant is decked out with plenty of Christmas lights, Christmas themed table covers, over-sized Santa hats over some of the chair backs and wrapped presents throughout the decor. There are vintage Christmas songs playing to add to the festive atmosphere. They have a nice selection of specialty drinks and a full bar. They are open Mon 5pm-11pm, Tues-Thursday and Sunday 11am - 11pm, Fri-Sat 11am-midnight. There is a 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill. When the hostess’s Christmas sweater had a totally inappropriate saying on it that rhymed with “Go truck yourself”, I was worried about what kind of experience we were about to have. However, when our gracious server, Courtney, greeted us and took our drink orders, our concerns were assuaged. The ladies of our traveling trio shared a double fried shrimp basket and I chose a bowl of gumbo. The food arrived very quickly and the first spoonful of the gumbo was so delicious, it made me go, WOW! Even the Texas Toast that was served with the gumbo was great. The shrimp were good, served with real french fries and small, slightly over-cooked hush puppies. Courtney continued to impress us with her grace, efficiency and great customer service throughout the meal. With an alcoholic drink and two non-alcoholic drinks, beignets for desert and the tip, the bill was a little over $80. Had it not been for the offensive sweater, I would have rated them a 5/5 for the quality of the food, the great customer service and the Christmas decorations.

Wholeheartedly recommend. Four adults split the boiled platter and the fried platter. Delicious food and leftovers. Make a reservation!!

My wife and I had a late night date At Bon Ton last night. We sat in the corner booth with a lot of privacy. The ambiance was great and the food even better. Since it was after 11 only the limited late night menu was available. We shared the Shrimp Bon Mi, Falafel Bon Mi, Chargrilled Potatoes, and Frito Misto! Everything was delicious especially the Frito Misto! It had the perfect amount of breading and was seasoned to perfection. We are wanting to go back earlier one evening so we can experience the full menu. Such a great little place in the north midtown area.

The food here is phenomenal! You have to get the crab claws and smoked snow crab. I could eat it everyday! The crawfish mac & cheese is also the perfect side. Drinks are also great. Their hurricane is strong but really good. Service is amazing. The playlist is everything. This is my #1 recommendation for anyone visiting the city or looking for a go-to spot!

This is my 4 th time at Bon Ton. Three times I ate in... this time Take Out. Well deserved great reviews already. My favorites are the Classic Grilled oysters, the Five-Spice barbecue Shrimp, the pickled vegetables and the sausage and seafood gumbo. Oh, let me not forget the hushpuppies. A real plus to the great Atlanta food scene. And don't forget the drinks. Try the Pimms Cup Slushy.
New Flavors for Sound Priduct
Hard to make a choice. So many flavors that I like. The French 75 was spot on... sour.. sweet... fuzzy. The gumbo was rich and with some great spice that we had along with dirty rice with oysters. The dishes combined well with each other and a side of the pickled veggies were excellent. Each was crisp and had its own taste. Finished up with a wonderful bowl of mussels. But did they have to charge 50 cents for some extra bread to swab up the delicious broth? Will definitely return. Alex our server was helpful and timed the meal perfectly .
