Been Coming here for Years

By Sergio M |

Absolutely lovely restaurant. I wish restaurants on the strip had this ambiance. Was here while I was in town visiting family, I wanted to show my fiancé a truly "Mexican" experience, she got it! All dishes are great, service is great, house margaritas are huge. Make this your family Mexican restaurant stop.

Best Service and Homemade Tortillas

By leisha926 |

Wonderful service, from the Hostess, Server & Beverage waiter, all were very friendly and really quick service. If your kids are like mine, I had to call about ten places before I found a Mexican restaurant with a kid menu for kids who do not eat Mexican food, the kids loved their chicken strips and fries and we loved the authentic Mexican food for us. The Carne Asada was the best and after reading other reviews, I also ordered the guacamole which was wonderful. Their homemade tortillas, well though we could use more of, were wonderful. The enchilada sauce is more authentic then I like, I tend to like the more watered down version. The night we were there, there was a live mariachi band, which we thought was great. Overall great place!!!

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Vegas!

This is absolutely our favorite Mexican spot! The staff is always accommodating and the food is delicious!

Excellent Experience

By Russ Lacuata |

Visited Las Vegas for our annual company conference and we came here for lunch based on one of the attendees recommendations. The service was prompt and the staff was attentive and friendly. We were greeted when we walked in, got our group seated right away. The beans, chips and salsa to start was very good. The drinks was good. The food authentic tasting and homemade. Overall great experience.

Awseome!

By Jesse W |

We were greeted by friendly staff. The salsa and bean dip were very good. Everyone's food was full of flavor. The wait staffs service was second to none. A must try if Spanish food is what your craving!

Delicious

Came here for dinner in the middle of the week. Great experience. Welcomed when we walked in. Seated right away. Prompt attentive service. Chips, salsa and beans came out right away. We missed happy hour. Still enjoyed a Margarita with dinner. Margaritas were great. All our food was hot, delicious, and nice sized portions. Noticed they have a Sunday morning brunch. We plan to come here again to try more.

Very Good Food and Drinks

By harley m |

I saw Bonita's had good TA reviews so my son and I decided to have dinner there. From the moment we drove into their driveway to the time we left, we had an excellent time. The restaurant's Mexican facade is bright and cheerful. Looks like you are actually in Mexico. The interior is also bright and colorful. There is plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. Richard was our waiter and recommend some wonderful dishes. The Cockteles de Mariscos was SO delicious. Richard suggested a chicken dish for my son and he suggested a steak dinner for me. Both were DELICIOUS. For dessert, we had the Mexican Flan which was also DELICIOUS. My son had a Mango Margarita and I had a Cadillac. Both were served in LARGE margarita glasses. The drinks were very reasonably priced and, of course, DELICIOUS. Juan's Flamingo Fajitas was our go to Mexican place, but it is now Bonita Michoacan.

Worth the 270 mile drive

I live in Los Angeles and for the past 4 years or so this has been a must go to spot when coming to Las Vegas. It the BEST food out there! The chilaquiles, chile rellenos, the milanesa, the shrimp enchiladas and I can go on FOREVER! The best is their homemade fideo and Amy Vachalhand made tortillas! I wanna go back!!!! I'm hungry just thinking about all their food!

Naves

Excellent food, go there at least twice a month, fish tacos are the best in town! Fresh salsa and bean dip as soon as you sit down, GREAT Margaritas, mangoes my favorite . And the service is terrific too, my favorite Mexican restaurant!!

Almost felt like I was in Mexico!

By BeenAroundTheWorld |

From the outside to the inside, you have found a little piece of Mexico. The decor, live music, festive drinks, staff and food are all on point. Hard to be disappointed here, the ambiance is great and you will leave full! Mango Margarita and drink menu is worth a look & the fresh made guacamole is a hit! Large menu and portions. I tried the combination dinner which made me wish I had ate less chips n salsa beforehand. P.S. Great place to bring a date, off the Strip.

Fantastic Food! Mi encanta!!

By cheezit65 |

We had a wonderful dining experience here. We ordered the Pollo Correteado. The waitress let us substitute grilled onions & peppers for the pica! It tasted fantastic. This is the first time in awhile I've had really good Mexican food. To summarize - our food tasted fantastic, the restaurant is clean, the waitress was super friendly, we didn't have to wait at all to be seated, we had our water glasses refilled twice without asking, and there was a live musician playing & singing (but not loud). It was a great place to eat!.

Recommended by a local manicurist this was a most welcome relief to the chain, monotonous, expensive, mediocre quality Vegas strip "restaurants". Good food, extensive menu, friendly staff, colorful atmosphere. A win all around.

Not so good

By hagerhill |

Two of our Uber drivers recommended this restaurant. They said it is a very popular place and real Mexican food. Well their salsa is not very good at all. Probably the worst I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. They only give us maybe 1/4 of the tiny bowl of salsa for 3 people. Didn't even ask if we wanted more and the chips tasted like they came out of a bag from Walmart, not homemade. They only give 1 free drink refill then they charge you for another drink. Our food was not very good either. I would not recommend this restaurant. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it was clean.

Delicious, Tasty Mexican Food

By NewJerseyFunTraveler |

Visited this place twice for dinner during our Vegas stay. A great place for dinner off the strip, with terrific atmosphere. A live guitar singer, but was not overly loud at all. Very comfortable, excellent food dining experience. The mango margarita on the rocks was excellent, and the sangria margarita mixture was great as well. Highly recommend the Chille Relleno and Tomalles for an appetizer (both side dishes) - very delicious. For entrees the Chicken Ester (server recommendation) was out of this world - a little spicy definitely not over the top. SO SO EXCELLENT! Chicken was very soft and tender and the sauce was to die for. The Chicken in tomato cream sauce was fabulous as well. Service was quick, honest, and helpful. The only bummer was they charged us $2 for a little extra side of sour cream :( didn't think that as necessary A must go-to restaurant off the strip if looking for an excellent authentic quiet mexican restaurant.

Laziest staff you'll ever see

By drdjd |

This place has the worst trained hostesses and bussers who will tell you 30 minutes for your table, make you wait over an hour then make no effort whatsoever to bus your table so you can sit down. We waited 15 more minutes (I turned on my stopwatch it was just so astounding how slow this woman was) while this really slow woman took her time bussing the table and the hostesses and manager just sit there glancing over at her, not wanting to work at all. Laziest staff and really, whoever owns this restaurant, you might want to bring someone in who actually knows how to run a restaurant. These are pretty simple things. Don't tell people 30 minutes when it will be 70 minutes. Bus tables quickly when people have waited 40 minutes over what you told them. This is a work place, not a place to hang out with your friends and chat. Have gone here for years and we will be finding a new restaurant to frequent.

Complimentary food and food quainty hustlers.

By Dribbleman |

The absolutely worst Mexican food restaurant ever. It looks nice on the inside and outside however looks are decieving. The waitress was trying to hustle me and my fiance for the complimentary chips, salsa, and beans that most Mexican restaurants offer while you prepare to order. She told us that the salsa and beans was $4.50 a piece. We ordered nachos and the order was made with the low quantity of chips cheese, jalapenos and beans. We actually asked cook if he could bring us more beans and he had no problem bringing us more beans and told us these are free of charge. The beans were actually the same beans and in the same bowl as the complimentary beans and salsa we had while we waited. We also let the lying waitress know that her cook said these were given by him. This place is an insult to hospitatly and customer service. They are food hustlers that try to use your service as a money grab by Giving you less food on your plate but trying to charge you a high amount even the complimentary food they offer. I hear a lot of people like this place maybe they just didnt like us because of our race.

Good Food

The Food was very good. The Restaurant is very nice decorate and the service was good. I enjoyed the Chicken Fajitas.

Small town Mexican transplant

By turtlegirl2007 |

If you are looking for authentic Mexican fare with the vibe to go with it, then look no further. What an amazing find. The decor resembles a small town Mexican restaurant; from the red floor tiles, the aquamarine paint, the colourful chairs, the server's dress to the music playing. I was seated very promptly and provided with complementary chips, salsa, refried beans and guacamole which set the stage for the meal ahead. They have an extensive menu, no matter a persons taste there is something on the menu that they would find amazing. I ordered the Mole Poblano (pollo). The pollo was seasoned with a variety of spices and chiles that ranged from hot to mild and to add a unique taste there was a dash of Mexican chocolate. A wonderful dish, the rice, salad and refined beans that completed the dish were flavourful. I also forgot to mention that a bowl of complementary bean soup was served with the meal and was very tasty. The decor and the attentiveness of the server added to the whole experience. If you want something different in a unique environment, then look no further. It is only a short cab ride or Uber off the strip and I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. I had no room for dessert which I am sure would have been as equally amazing as the main course. The food was very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality one received. I will be back!

Amazing Mexican food and very close to the strip

By Theshkol |

Amazing authentic Mexican food. Great customer service from Lorenzo. Very fair priced and close to the strip. Lorenzo made the experience exceptional as did all the staff that helped.

Gringo approved!!! LOL

By deb |

WOW This is the best Mexican food in Vegas. Love the fact they have many seafood dishes, something you don't see at other Mexican restaurants. We go about 3 times a month, for us it's worth the drive. Only wish they had more parking!!

friendly, attentive service

By kencatron |

We just munched on chips, salsa, and guacamole and had a couple of beers while we caught up with each other. But the servers kept checking on us, refilled the chips and salsa, and made sure we had everything we needed. A place we would return to try their food.

We enjoyed!

By LondonLola17 |

Love that they make the guacamole at the table, tasty. Great chips and dips, good range of sauces. Enjoyed a combo plate. Everyone was pleased with their meals. Friendly service. Good margaritas too. We visited last year and will be back next year;-)

So good! The house Michoacan sauce it really good.

By TerryKav61 |

I love the food here. Fresh, delicious, amazing really. Staff is so friendly, so fast. The food is really special, I thought. I've been back there twice and will go back again.

A failed recommendation, great place to get drunk, but not wonderful Mexican meal.

By Jason S |

Let’s see…. The restaurant is very crammed in, you set up a table to 20 the place becomes very very loud ( not a good vibe for dates, people with crowd sensitivity, etc.) They advertised there buey al cilantro as a ribeye according to the nice picture, menu serves New York, but market price for a choice maybe less than that for a ribeye ($65). You advertised hand made chicken tenders but serve Dino Nuggets. They wont come for you when you ask for refills for water, they charge for refills on fountain drinks, and $3 for more chips and salsa. Got to tell you chips are def store bought, second serving of salsa is water down from food service distributor . Service is meh, prices are kinda of a trap, quality of food ( if you never had real Tex-Mexican food,) save your money and go to Juan’s or Lindo. Not terrible like Eddie’s(see other review), but I wouldn’t recommend this place again; I was so embarrassed.

Found it!!

By WanetaLake |

Been looking for a real Mexican restaurant for a long time in Vegas. This is it. The menu alone is staggering. Amazing selection. Worth the short uber off the strip.

Very good food & service

By Kevin D |

There were 9 of us who ate at Bonito Michoacan on this night. My wife & I have eaten here before. The others haven't. Everyone liked the food. We were celebrating 2 friends birthday's. The staff are always friendly & helpful. It is a short taxi or uber ride away from the strip.

Management leaves a lot to be desired

By Olivian2 |

Although the food is very good ,the management is a joke. Even with return customers they don't try the least bit to help solve the problem and keep the customer happy, as we found out tonight. Will not be returning. There are a lot of Restaurants who understand how important it is to keep the customer happy , and want them to return. Unfortunately , this is NOT ONE OF THEM !

Excellent

By LShims |

Absolutely excellent meal and service. Off the strip and unique menu options. Highly recommend a visit if in Las Vegas.

Popped in for a light lunch

By N1239URrichardm |

We stopped in after driving by and the wife wanted a quick/light Mexican lunch. Food was great and the Margaritas even better. Large portions! Starter of Sopitos was a meal in itself and the main was supposed to be for 2 but would have fed 4 people. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Nice to get off the strip for a good meal.

Great mexican restaurant

By gurrumina2000 |

While visiting Vegas we were craving mexican food and although we saw great reviews of this restaurant online we asked our taxi driver and recommended us this place. Staff is soooo nice restaurant is clean and food is delicious, big size plates and great prices. The server was very prompt with our food and always asking if everything was ok and if there was anything we needed. Shoutout out to our server Juan who is always with a smile. The person who gave us our table Jonathan. We will definitely be back whenever we’re in town.

Delicioso!

By Patrick C |

I saw a post on Facebook today from a Mexican restaurant in Norway of all places. It read: Mexican food so authentic Trump would build a wall around it! That's pretty much how I feel about Bonito Michoacan (aka: Mochoacan Gourmet Mexican) at Twain & Decatur in Las Vegas. It's not easy to find really good Mexican food here as one might think. I've gone to this place a hundred times for lunch. I was there again last night with friends for dinner and realized it's those places that are sometimes overlooked for review but that are my go-to favorites. There are days I actually think, my gawd, I wish they were closer because I've got a craving only they can fill. The dishes are not spicy inferno hot. While they are always tolerable to my "gringo" friends, they might be considered a little "Americanized." Nonetheless, they are so tasty! My favorite is Polo con Rajas y Crema... which translates as chicken with rags and cream. Kitchen towels they are not! They are delectable torn pieces of grilled jalapeño and onion. With a thick cream sauce, this is to die for! My friends raved over the shrimp filled rellenos, stuffed chilies. The flour tortillas are handmade on the premises and have a great consistency to them. But I must warn you, with dinner you get a complimentary "peasant's" soup that is a beefy-tomato soup stock with angel hair pasta. Simple is good! Between that, the chips, salsa and bean dip (all complimentary), we were almost full by the time dinner arrived. We did manage to eat every bit but with no room for dessert. Our waiting staff was fun, prompt and efficient while not intrusive. The parking lot on this Saturday at 8:30 night was packed. It was only possible to find parking after a little wait and driving around the lot. The margaritas are pretty good. My friend said his mixed drink was a little light. I don't go here to drink, per se; I go here to eat! And it's a Mexican restaurant, for cry'n out loud...you get a beer or a margarita not a mixed drink! Ay carumba! There are two or more restaurants with "Michoacan" in the name here in Vegas. I've tried another and it was not as good as this one on Twain & Decatur.

Love my chili rellenos

By Sharon L |

7 years ago I was traveling the southwest on a mission to find the best chili relleno. I traveled for 8 weeks and enjoyed many good, and some not so good, chili relleno. However when I visited Las Vegas I enjoyed the most memorable chili relleno on my journey here at Michoacán. The chilie was fresh with a crisp, freshly fried batter the sauce was heavenly. The entire meal was perfect. Recently I had the opportunity to return to this restaurant. I had high expectations after my previous experience, but I was sorely disappointed. Not only was my chili relleno inedible, others in our party of 8 left much of their dinner untouched. My chili relleno tasted as though it had been frozen for years, it was soggy and tasteless. I regret wasting my time and money on such unacceptable food.

Best Mexican in Vegas!

By jeffy |

Authentic Mexican, amazing service, great ambience. Delicious bean dip, table-made guacamole and a huge menu to choose from. Four people with margaritas, appetizers and mains for less than $90! Absolutely incredible experience.

Great Mexican restaurant, but I would highly advise to make a reservation beforeGreat Mexican restaurant.

By Matt B |

Wow, what can I say? Absolutely amazing restaurant. I would highly recommend that you make a reservation. We had about a 40 minute wait for a table for two but it was well worth the weight. The staff are absolutely amazing very friendly. The food is so nice good atmosphere definitely well worth a visit

Great food, not great welcome

By robinbeam |

We arrived slightly early for our reservation and were told that we had to wait in our car and they would call us. 15 minute after our reservation time, we finally went back in. They acted like they didn't realize we were there before. They did take us to a table at that time. After that, our experience was very good. I had the mole poblano and my husband had the pollo al chipotle. Both were very tasty. The chips and salsa were ok. The service was also very good. I would recommend this restaurant if you can get past the hostess.

Great authentic food

By R V |

Loved the food here. It reminded me of the food my grandma used to make for us. I loved the fideo soup, tacos and the tamales. Can’t wait to go back to Las Vegas and eat here again. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful.

Mexican food in Chinatown

By Yoda316 |

Ordered Carne Asada and a single enchilada. The Enchilada ended up being shredded meet, it wasn’t my favorite. Others in our group got pork carnitas and was very pleased. Drinks were good also.

Extraordinary

By SSTravelBud |

Carnitas Coca Cola to die for. An amazingly wonderful meal. Hot bean dip & Smokey salsa with fresh chips. Homemade flour tortillas. Chillaquilles were also delicious. We are in Las Vegas for three days and will definitely be back for another incredible meal.

You can do better I believe

By Diana |

The best thing you can have here in my opinion is the guacamole made at your table. I don't like their salsa at all. It tastes as though it comes out of a can. The bean dip is good and the tortillas. I've tried a couple of the entrees and didn't care for either of them. The place seems to be busy and can be very noisy. Service is so so.

Good service, food, and live music!

By Golfwithcats |

My husband and I arrived around 9 pm on Saturday night. The restaurant was busy, but we didn't have to wait. We ordered beer and fajitas for two. The food came very quickly and it was a lot! The waiters and a manager were friendly and came over to our table many times to check if we were doing fine. While we were eating, a musician was singing and playing music, which was very pleasant. We would go back there when we are in the neighbourhood again.

very good and best prices

By ladyluckvegas83 |

best affordable mexican restaurant in las vegas ! friendly staff and the prices ans portion of food is awesome! lunch time is very very busy so get there early !

great food, drinks, service

By mcndc |

This had a nice local feel to it (it's about a mile off the strip). I sat at the bar and ate my meal. The bar tender was very friendly and attentive. I went between lunch and dinner when it wasn't so crowded. The margaritas were great and they have happy hour specials which seemed to have a lot of good deals. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and they were great (not on the happy hour menu). They have an extensive menu with lots of options.

Real Mexican Food.

By Matt_M_D8663XT |

I ate at Bonito Michoacán on January 7th, 2020. This is a really nice family run place with great food, and very good service. It is a mile or so off the strip but well worth the trip if you want authentic Mexican food in a very warm and friendly environment. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. Thanks to the Bonito Michoacán team for taking very good care of me! Great value!

Lunch stop

By Esmeralda B |

The margaritas were really good , I got a free one though yelp and it was amazing the food was average , not typical authentic Mexican food its more like American - Mexican but drinks are really good I definitely recommend and of there specialty drinks ...you won't be disappointed , service is slow but it was an OK place for lunch

This is the REAL DEAL

By Marshallsoffice |

If your in Las Vegas, and expect to go to a glitzy type, Strip Hotel Mexican restaurant, then you might want to pass on Michoacan Gourmet Mexican. However, if you would like to experience maybe the best Carnitas this side of Puerto Vallarta, and a short ride from the Strip...this is your place. Not only is the food, a "South of the Border" treat, but the atmosphere is truly authentic.....and if you like Margaritas...try to leave room for a choice from the menu with a delicious " down home" Mexican touch.

Good Food but Service Lacking This Visit

By harley m |

I am a regular customer of Bonita Michoacan. Most visits I have rated as EXCELLENT, but this visit this evening, January 5, was not up to par. The reason for the #3 rating is primarily for service, but also for food quality. We normally have Richard as our server. He is polite, friendly and professional. His suggestions over the past year have been spot on. I called this afternoon for a reservation and specifically asked if Richard was working. If he wasnt I would have come in another evening. i was told he was. Once there we were told he was off. No problem. Our waiter, dont recall his name, nor the busser, had good customer service skills. The busser slid dishes towards us and just had a poor attitude. The waiter was too busy talking to his friends eating at the restaurant or chatting with staff. The food issue. We normally order the Cockteles De Mariscos. Tonight, there was half the normal amount of shrimp, and the sauce had an unusual flavor. We ate it without comment. I ordered the Steak al Cognac. The steak was tough, not the normal tender cut. I DID speak with the waiter who did replace it with a better steak. I not only write reviews on poor service or food, but also on good/ excellent service or food. Tonight I rate the dinner a 3.5/5. Service was not great, but the waiter did replace the steak. The food was a 3 out of 5. Will I return, of course. Its only one poor meal. But the service or attentiveness can improve. Hire more waiters like Richard :).

Ugh!

By Mums307 |

Barely passable Mexican food. This was the worst mistake of our Las Vegas trip. Waiter more interested in up selling the 'Cadillac' margarita. Sauce on chile relleno awful; cheese enchiladas not piping hot although the plates were. I picked it so everyone in our group hates me now. Find another place to eat.

Great food off the beaten track in Vegas

By Leonard S |

Wonderful food, very large portions (do not over-order!), in a very pleasant setting. Great and attentive service. Live music. Good bar variety and service. This compares very favorably with any Mexican or Southwestern or Tex/Mex restaurant we have visited; on a par with the better places we have dined in Cancun and Cabo San Lucas. Really a treasure, one I will re-visit on my next trip off the Strip!!

Gringo approved!!! LOL

By deb |

OMG the service is great, and the food is even better. We have eaten here at least 2 to 3 times a month. We are gringos LOL but all employees are very engaging and makes your dining experience wonderful. I am the adventuresome one when it comes to the menu, everything so far gets a BIG thumbs up. Hubby kind of sticks to the same 3 or 4 items which he really enjoys. Love this place and we don't mind the 20 min. drive.

The Fod was really amazing , presentation and Taste 10..the staff were nice, and attentive but the live music was a littke loud..

Can't Quite Reach The Bar

By Ron P |

I reviewed this restaurant in April of 2014 and not much has changed. The atmosphere is still authentic Mexico, the salsa still leaves something to be desired, the warm refried beans are still great for dipping. The chips seem thinner and less crunchy than I recall them having been, which is a plus. Our server, Israel, was quite on top of things, as he should have been since we dined early, about 4 pm. He asked if we would like some spicier salsa, habanero, and warned us it was hot. I told him to bring it on. This gringo's theory is: The hotter the better, as long as you retain the flavor. But when the flavor starts suffering, back off on the heat." It was very good and I think he was surprised to see how much I ate with my meal. I ordered the #19 combination which consisted of two chile rellenos with rice, beans and warm tortillas, while my wife opted for the carne asada taco plate which also included rice and beans. Everything was tasty though short of delicious. The sauce which covered the rellenos tasted more like a pasta sauce with a tomato base and oregano than a Mexican dish. I tried one of my wife's tacos and found the steak to be dry and somewhat bland unless augmented with some salsa.

Great food and service

By Cynthia R |

This is by far the best Mexican food we have ever had.The staff is very attentive even though they are busy. The location is pleasant. The food is excellent with flavorful sauces. We went here twice because it was so good

Delicioso!

By Van E |

We met a local friend here at his invitation, and it did not disappoint. Curb appeal is inviting and parking ample. We were seated immediately and our very gregarious, personable waiter took excellent care of us from beginning to end. The margaritas had plenty of authority; the warm chips and salsa delicious. Apparently, every entree includes a small cup of chicken-broth-style soup, which had a nice flavor. We didn't see our favorite thing on the menu--a fajita combo of steak, chicken, and shrimp--but we asked and they gladly made it for us. It was perfect, with just the right amount of char, served on a sizzling platter. The rice was flavored superbly and the guacamole fresh and creamy. My only complaint is the lighting: It glares just a bit, and could be solved easily and inexpensively with dimmer switches.

The correct name is Bonito Michoacan which means incredible Mexican cuisine

By Ralph L |

If you are looking for the place where the locals go for great Mexican food, Bonito Michoacan is where you want to go. Nothing pretentious about Bonito, just authnitic Mexican food. Start with the table side guacamole. I had the fillete relleno. Outstanding!

really filling lunch; good, too

By pchnmain |

"Bonito Michoacan" is a really nice, traditional Mexican family restaurant. I visited mid-week at about 2pm. This allowed me to enjoy one of their lunch specials: The #1 ~ Green Chili Burrito (pork and beans) served with rice and beans ($13.95); the plate includes a side of sopa de fideo (soup). I had a bottle of beer (Estrella Jaliso ~ $3.50). With tax ($1.46), my ticket was $18.91 before gratuity. Chips, along with sides of salsa and refried beans, were also provided. The green chili had chunks of pork that were stewed to become very tender. The chili itself had a district flavor; the cook may have also added a squeeze of fresh lime to give it a slight tartness. It was a very filling lunch. If there's "real Mexican food" on the Las Vegas Strip, I haven't found it. You have to go off-Strip to restaurants like this. Service was a bit uneven; but I did visit in that odd period after lunch service, but before dinner. So, I'm unsure if it may have been a staffing level issue.

Best Mexican in the city

By Charles M |

As a former resident - if I could I would have picked up Bonito Michoacan and taken it with me. Off the strip- not far from the palms- this place is where the locals go for the best Mexican food I the city. Fresh, (table side guacamole is a must) and authentic dishes. You can't go wrong with this place. The outside may not dazzle you- but the food and service is fantastic!

Great!

By Yvonne A |

Fantastic service, wonderful food, great decor, music okay. Wonderful everytime we go! You can't beat it!

Awesome mexican food and great atmosphere

By Esprit1st |

This is a really nice Mexican restaurant. The staff was really nice and helpful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. They even had a live band playing. This is definitely a great place to go for Mexican food. The prices are a little above average but not crazy expensive. We'll definitely be back.

Great Chili Verde

By Wes A |

We found this place several years ago and have returned each time we get to Las Vegas. Everything we have tried has been great. We love the Chili Verde. To make it even more enjoyable the tortillas are made fresh on site. So often can see the person making them.

Best Mexican Restaurant in Vegas!

By Carmen C |

Everything about this restaurant is great, the staff, the food, the price and large portions. I stop here every time I'm in Vegas.

Disappointing dinner service in bar area

By harley m |

On July 17, my son and I dined at Bonita. We have had many dinners here and have normally received good to excellent service. This visit we were seated in the bar area. It appeared that the bartender was also our waiter. After a few moments he came over and took our drink order. The chips and dips came in a timely manner but that is where the "timely manner" ended. After about 15 minutes he came over for our food order. It was not over the top ordering, just 2 teas and two entrees. The drinks finally arrived, and I have to say, were average at best. About ten minutes or more I had to step up to the bar and ask for our iced teas. It took a few moments, but we finally got them. Our entrees came about 10-15 minutes later. A LOT longer than we normally wait for our dinners there. The bartender (waiter) NEVER came by the table or even asked us from the bar how our dinners were. We were going to order a dessert but did not want to wait an additional amount of time. We had to motion for him to come to the table for our check. I understand it can get busy in a restaurant, but there is NO excuse for poor or bad service. I did not stiff him on a tip, though I thought about it, but it was not the standard tip I leave for even adequate service. It was the worst service I have ever had there, and I have eaten there for years. If you come eat here, I recommend you DO NOT sit in the bar area for dinner.

Where the locals go for Mexican food

By Hemal J |

Authentic mexican food that was just delicious!! The service is mediocre but the food is to die for. I tried their cheese enchiladas and chili relleno and both were fantastic!! great margs too.

Very comfortable family restraunt

By spike415 |

Very accommodating menu, you can virtually have a combination of any of your favorite Mexican dishes. Served with soup and they made a totally custom taco to my whims!

Awesome Service & Food!

By Road25057324427 |

We were visiting Vegas for a show and a concert. Found this place on trip advisor and man was it good! Service was fantastic. We were greeted with multiple servers bringing water, drinks, chips & salsa. Oh the salsa, homemade and warm! The Chili Verde is very flavorful and full of chunks of pork. This is great Mexican food in a great atmosphere with terrific service.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to!

My wife and I visited here in October 2015 while vacationing in Las Vegas. We are really into Mexican food and were mood for an authentic Mexican food. We checked out the many positive reviews online and decided to try this place. We get to many different Mexican restaurants throughout the year and I have to say that this is truly one of the best! Excellent service, food, drinks, and dessert. We both loved everything about this place. I highly recommend you try it if you love Mexican food and are visiting or live near Las Vegas. It's about a 10 min drive from the strip. We live in Michigan but, every time we visit Las Vegas we will be sure to come to this excellent restaurant!

A Great Find in Las Vegas

By tapbelle |

Our group of four discovered this wonderful restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had a chicken tamale that was stuffed with chicken. The bean dip was yummy. The chips were done correctly. Although we had eaten a full meal, we opted for sopapillas for dessert, which are one of the best I have eaten.

Lunch

By Joseph P |

Bonito is a very nice place to come with a group to celebrate an event. The food is average, and the service was just ok. I think there are better Mexican restaurants in the area.

Disappointing meal

By harley m |

Been coming here for years. The past few visits have been disappointing. The service is usually good, but the food has been subpar. Tonight's dinners came out QUICKLY which to me is not a good sign. The shredded chicken for the enchiladas was overcooked and tough. The chili rellenos were soggy and unappealing. One of the worst dinners we have had there. probably look for another Mexican restaurant.

The Best

By jaythetravelguy |

We heard that this is the best Mexican Restaurant on Vegas and we agree. It is located about 5 miles West of the strip. It has it all! Atmosphere. Live music, great food, fun staff. My wife had one of the fish entrees it was fantastic. I had traditional Mexican - enchilada and taco. Enchilada was great. Taco was a bit greasy, but tasted good. We also had a side of guacamole. They come to your table and fix it. It was great, but too much for 2 people. Probably better for 4 people. Price was great. We’ll be back!

Delicioso!

By WorldTravelers1999 |

We enjoyed our lunch at this establishment. The food was great, as was the customer service, and ambiance. I think the live music is a bonus! You don't see that where we live. Highly recommend!

Terrific Mexican!! 👍

By Carl Phillips |

Chose this restaurant purely by chance, and it did not disappoint. Great Food! Great service! Great vibe! Loved the margaritas and we were served terrific guacamole. Added bonus was that we went on a Sunday afternoon and there was live music. Well done Bonito! Muy bien! 👏👏👏

Not as authentic as we thought

By Juan S |

We went there for my bday. They advertised live music which they never had. The service was ok. Our queso fundido was decent. I ordered carnitas and they looked NOTHING like carnitas. They were dry with little to no taste. The beans were also dry and the rice was not cooked all the way. Corn tortillas were store bought and not heated properly. Their agua de Tamarindo was way to sweet with little to no Tamarindo flavor. When I asked my fiancé about her meal she just nodded her head and said 'no comment". As a chef and a first time visitor to Vegas I expected much more. I will NEVER go back to that restaurant or recommend to anyone.

Great food

By Brando1138 |

Meal was delicious and the service was impeccable. Julio and the rest of the staff was wonderful. We will be coming back.

Best Mexican north of Mexico (and south of Minneapolis)

By 173Jack173 |

Fantastic place to eat! We stumbled on this place while driving around the city looking for Mexican. What a treat! It was awesome! So much variety! Great service too. Authentic atmosphere and taste! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Vegas! I highly recommend this place to everyone who loves Mexican.

Tableside Guac is the Best!!!

By Tara D |

We found this restaurant after searching trip advisor and google for quite a while. I’m so glad we ended up here. The table side guac was soooo good. The a la carte burrito was HUGE! Sad we weren’t in town long enough to go again!

Back again for great food

By WineloverVirginia |

Was here last January--great then, still great. Everything tastes good, good drinks, nice selection of tequilas. The only thing that was different was they have a new guy playing music. Don't change a thing!

Great food! Best Bartender! Not all Michoacan's are created equal This is the best one.

By Bryan B |

The lunch specials at this restaurant are exceptional. Great food at fair prices. All quality ingredients and nice presentations. The servers are very attentive and client focused.

Most excellent Mexican food!!!

By bill f |

We love Mexican food and this place, Bonito Michoacan is an absolute gem! Food is very great, awesome ingredients, authentic family style recipes from the Michoacan area and clearly cooked with love and attention to detail. Service was second to none, and I highly recommend trying this place out!

Great If You Like ANTS

By BugattiBoi88 |

Okay I have been putting off this review for almost 2 weeks but I've finally got the time to explain why my rating for this place is only 3 stars! I came here with a co worker on a lunch break a little over a week ago. Greeting from the hostess was pleasant as well as the customer service from our waiter! Good we ordered was the tacos lengua(cow tongue) and my fish tacos! Everything tastes okay UNTIL I went to go eat my last tacos and noticed a baby ant hop off my plate O_o yeah and we all know ants just don't roll solo now do they? Know what this means right? There's clearly more and to what wasn't a surprise I glance over at the window seal and it's plenty more under this vase! YUCK! We immediately got our server who apologized and told us this wasn't likely well we decided to kill one of them and save it in a napkin for management and surely she came out thinking that it couldn't be possible.. She explained that they always clean very good.. Well apparently not because these ants been shacking up for a while. She apologized and gave us HALF off our bill which actually should've been completely comp'd and maybe even a gift certificate to try them again. After being grossed out I didn't even want a to-go box..not sure if i would've wanted anymore ants to bring home (a lot of pun intended)..

Excellent burritos and margaritas

By Sunil R |

It's plain and simple. If you're in the mood for Mexican and you're looking for the real deal, this is the place to go. They have a margarita on the menu with a upside down corona in it. I would definitely recommend this, although you'd have to have a pretty large appetite to finish this drink along side your dinner here. The portions are HUGE!

Vacatio

By alma v |

We found this place on google. Searched authentic Mexican food. So we tried it - it was all delicious and authentic. Good Michoacán atmosphere. Everything was nice and clean.

Awesome Mexican Food

By 7gemini7 |

Large menu with a variety of items. I love Carnitas and there were so many more selections that in the Mexican restaurants back in Ohio. The chips and salsa with bean dip was great. The salsa was a darker red and very tasty. We received a slight spicy broth soup with angel hair pasta as part of our entrees. I got the Michoacan Carnitas and my wife got a Beef Burrito. The portions were huge and came with rice, beans, and guacamole salad. Definitely would come back!

Great food, great service.

By Oma1949 |

After arriving in Las Vegas around noon to visit our son for Christmas, we stopped at this restaurant for lunch. We had eaten here before, but didn't remember how good and authentic the food was. The guacamole, which was prepared table-side was excellent, the servers were fluent in English and Spanish, and were very friendly and engaging. The ambiance is beautiful, and not kitschy at all. We'll be back!!!

Amazing! Highly recommend

By Laura B |

Stopped for dinner while in Vegas. We were seated promptly, had great service, and everything we ate was fantastic. Live music throughout the dinner hour. Had huge margaritas, which were pricey but very good! Loved the bean dip with chips and salsa. We shared fajitas for two, very generous portions and good quality steak. Splurged on the deep fried cheescake for dessert - it was excellent, and plenty for two people to share. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. One of our favorite meals of the whole vacation. Nothing but good things to say!

Delicious Mexican Food

By Judy and Hoppy |

A friend who lives in Las Vegas took us to this restaurant. It is very large, but divided nicely into smaller dining rooms. Lots of decorations that made us feel we were in Mexico. A large menu and it was hard to choose. Our waiter mixed guacamole at our table, asking which ingredients that we wanted. It was chunky and delicious. The best we have ever had! Especially good with the wonderful Margaritas. Fajitas with home made tortillas were great. A pretty place with delicious food!

Not for Tourists / No Para Turistas

By Doctor T |

We arrived and were told 30 minute wait so we went to the bar while we were waiting for a table. The 30 minute wait turned into over an hour, although at one point i was told there were 5 tables ahead of us; when I saw several tables leave and be seated I went back to the front to check...that’s when I saw the list had been re-written and there were now 7 in front of us. It appeared like we were being moved down the list to be seated as a last resort. We asked if we could just eat at the bar since the table was taking so long. Coming from someone that lived in Morelia; I thought the food was excellent. I had a preparada and the goat stew “birria de chivo” which were both just like I would expect in Michoacán. Everyone else said they enjoyed their food, but we couldn’t eat together because the bar didn’t have a table big enough so two of us were at a booth while the others were at the bar. Although you could tell it was a popular family place the bar had a sketchy clientele with outlaw motorcycle gang members wearing colors etc. I would recommend it but I wouldn’t personally go back after learning the hard way they prioritize seating their regulars.

A lucky find!

By Strawberrygirlforeve |

From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience. The decor is a conversation in itself. We were served promptly with complimentary chips, beans and salsa. The fajita platter for two was huge, and will make wonderful take home. Jonathon was our server and was very attentive and polite. We will visit again.

Yummy Mexican

By xuanlocdoc |

Great food and great service in a clean pleasant atmosphere. They are always busy. Nake a reservation. Bring your appetite!!

Authentic Food

By h0lly1974 |

Away from the strip with plenty of parking. Felt very traditional, lots of dishes on menu we had not seen before. Freindly servers, plenty chips and 2 dips. We made up our meal from the ala carte menu, the first time we ate there, two items each, with rice and beans. It was really good, but we could not eat it all. The 2nd time we had Fajitas and was very good. would recommend the Chimichangas and Enchidalas.

Authentic!

By Rose W. |

First visit! Loved the relaxed atmosphere & colorful decor! The staff were delightful & attentive. The margaritas were so good! Best I’ve had in a long time! The food was fresh & delicious! We will be back!

You can do better I believe

By LasVegasfemale |

I went there with another person for early dinner. It took a little while to get seated. Once seated we were told we would get a paper menu since the one you scan your phone with wasn't working. It was at least 15 minutes before the paper menu arrived. We were halfway through our table side guacamole. That was the best part of the menu. The rest was mediocre at best. I ordered a chimichanga and asked them to put red sauce on top. What I got was a flour tortilla with shredded beef, not fried with red sauce on top. The guac that came with it was not good, certainly nothing like the one that was prepared tableside. The restaurant was supposed to be more than 35% full. Such was not the case. Also no tables seating parties of more than 6. Right across from us there was a loud party of 8 celebrating a birthday. These are the current Covid protocols for Las Vegas. When we wanted to pay the server never came. My friend walks with a cane so we went to the front reception area and the lady says yeah ok, sorry. He gives her a credit card. For whatever reason they could not run it. Nothing wrong with his card. Anyway he ended up giving her cash and then it was a big production going in the back like they had no way to make change. I am not lying, paying the bill took 10 minutes. They should have discounted the check by 20% for all the aggravation. I probably would not return and if I did I'd only get the tableside guac. That I can say was good. Also the place was "loud". Possibly a superspreader event.

Another Hit or Miss Dinner with Good Service

By harley m |

On August 31st my son and I dined at this restaurant. We have been here many times over the years. It is a hit or miss experience for the food and service. This visit was no exception, but our waiter Domingo made it good. Being Labor Day Weekend, it was BUSY, but we were quickly seated. The busser was quick on delivering the waters, ice teas and chips and dip, but didn't have too much of a personality. Our waiter Domingo, who we have had in the past, remembered us and was attentive during the meal. IMO the food was a miss tonight. for both of us, I ordered the chili relleno dinner and my son ordered the #5 combination meal. My rellenos came swimming in sauce and hardly had any beans. The heavy on the sauce made the rellenos soggy and unappetizing. I spoke with Domingo who brought me another order which was light on the sauce and tasted 100% better. My son's taco had an off-putting flavor, and his enchilada wasn't to his liking, but he didn't say anything. We ordered two desserts which came out wrong. Domingo took care of the issue. I want to thank Domingo for saving the meal. He was attentive and listened. Good employee.

Oh so yummy

By Derrick1230 |

I took my sister here for lunch. I have driven by this place for years and always see the parking lot full, so we finally went. Only regret I have is not going sooner.... I had the chicken breast cooked in chilli’s and mayo... I was in heaven. My sister had the taco’s. We can’t wait to go back.... I liked the chips and salsa and refried beans when you sit down. I would recommend this place for sure!!!

Very Good Mexican Food

By Clyde K |

We ate here tonight after looking at the reviews. We were not disappointed. The food is very tasty and plentiful. We all enjoyed our meal very much. The decor is Mecican and it is not very noisy. They had live music this evening and it was very good without being intrusive. The service is excellent and friendly. The menu is very extensive with selections not usually seen in other chain Mexican restaurants. This place is recommended for that south of the border meal.

Excellent Mexican food!

By ruby7773 |

We went here based on other Tripadvisor reviews. It did not disappoint. Excellent food. We HS fish tacos, Mexican pizza, guacamole, margaritas and it was $60. The service was perfect. You should definitely try it!

Holy cow this place rocks!!!

By Nick W |

This was awesome. I went by recommendation of family who lives locally and always takes people there. It did not disappoint. The salsa was awesome. The guacamole made at the table was awesome. My mole chicken was awesome. There wasn't a single thing I could say bad about this place. Way to go!

Authentic Mexican Food

By dianadV366RI |

We just visited Bonito Michoacánit is not very far from the strip if you have a car or taking a taxi shouldn't be that much, it is located on The corner of Decatur and Twain Rd. it is authentic Mexican Food and the atmosphere and service are great. Try the beef tongue plate or tacos, or a parrillada grilled beef, chicken and shrimp, roasted jalapeño and cebollin (green onions), great flavors.

One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Vegas!

By Sandra F |

This is absolutely our favorite Mexican spot! The staff is always accommodating and the food is delicious!

Pleasant alternative for a nice evening

By georg_heyder |

Dinner for 2: Nice and attentive service, really good food, portions to enjoy and get full, at prices far below the level of all US restaurants. If possible, arrive early or reserve. Every time we drive by, the parking lot was full.

Best Mexican Food in Vegas

By stizzyv |

I highly recommend this restaurant, by far the best Mexican food in all of Vegas. I was told I had to stop here by a good friend and I would say the same to anyone. We had a group of over 20 people and the waitstaff handled it very well. Everyone's food came out on time and cooked to perfection. One of the most authentic Mexican meals I have ever had outside of Mexico.

Bonito Michoacan is what the restaurant is called.

By Bridget C |

I just loved the meal we had here. The menu was extensive and they served, mole, which isn't often found on Mexican menus. The decor was amazing, so colorful and rich. There were a lot of HIspanic folks here, so I figured the food would be great. And it was. I had a mole dish and it was terrific. My niece had a whole fried talapia, which she said was wonderful. We had a great experience. I would definitely go there again if I ever get back to Vegas.

Food is “okay”, no attention to customers

By Teresa |

We wanted to order more food, drinks, dessert but no one helped us. Our waitress was more concentrated in the next table over not leaving her a tip that she completely forgot about us. Really bad service.

Awesome Mexican Food

By ArchieMYL |

We come to Las Vegas 2-4 times a year. When we do, we try and find hidden gems away from the hotel/casino's. This trip it was Michoacan Gourmet Mexican. Turned out to be great choice. Located on the corner of Decatur and Twain, north of Flamingo, the place has a classic Mexican restaurant feel to it. We made reservations for 5:30 and arrived just a bit early. While it wasn't jammed at that point, when we left at about 6:45 the place was full and they had a full lobby waiting. So, reservations are strongly suggested. Food was outstanding, In our party of five we had two orders of Fajitas de Pollo (so much food that honestly two could have shared one order), the Mole Poblano (raved about), and a couple of combinations. All orders come with a cup of sopa de fideo which was a nice light start, plus the proverbial chips and salsa/beans. You can also order. You can also order their fresh guacamole which is made table side. We didn't and after tables all around us did, we regreted not doing so. All the food was great. Service was good-to-very good. The busbot (Ivan I think) was outstanding in refills of drinks and being present for any request. The server was pleasent but not as attentive. However, as mentioned before they were busy so no worries. It was a great leisurely meal with friends, one that we'll definitely visit again for.

Absolutely delicious

First time to visit this restaurant. What a delightful place. Excellent place to bring you family. The food was authentic and delicious,

Made us Texans happy !

By John N |

We always try to find good Mexican when we come to Las Vegas, and have eaten at another of the Michoacan restaurants but decided to try this one this visit - we were very pleasantly rewarded with good margaritas and tasty Mexican food. Being from Texas, we eat Mexican at least 3 times a week and this restaurant delivered the good - reasonably priced food, yummy margaritas, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely go back on our next LV visit.

gourmet Mex food

By I T |

We were a group of 6 and all different orders. the food was excellent, fresh cooked to order, tasty, and not skimpy on the meat. However prices are above average.

Great Authentic Mexican!

By Meg M |

We were craving some authentic Mexican and this place was great. I got the chimichanga with rice and beans and my bf got spicy chicken. Very flavorful. Will email back the next time we visit Vegas.

Best Authentic Hispanic Food

By KittKatt |

My friends and I were looking for a decent Hispanic restaurantt not on the strip and we struck gold with Bonito Michoacan. The atmosphere, the service, the price, and the food were absolutely amazing. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for the real deal.

Super Authentic!

By rahymapadron |

We found this place while visiting Las Vegas, it was so good we came back another time. The food is delicious and the servings are super big. They brought us chips and salsa, and refried beans from the beginning. Along with a homemade tomato noodle soup. We also ordered the guacamole that is made for you at your table. The servings are very generous, I ordered an item from the appetizers list thinking it was a smaller size, but it was also just as big as their main items. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The waiters were very attentive all the time. The place has a great atmosphere, the prices are also affordable and we will definitely be coming back.

Nice Mexican Restaurant with great Margaritas & Mojitos

By juliepsheridan |

Great Mexican restaurant off the Strip. Extensive menu in a truly Mexican atmosphere. The build your own platter is great, along with the delicious drinks. The service is very attentive too. Try the guacamole made tableside, and the street corn. Chips and salsa and beans come free of charge for the first basket. The fried ice cream is delicious. It is not cheap, but very good.

Very good, very fresh Mexican

By TimmyB1957 |

We love Mexican food, so we always try to find a great place in each city. This one does it for us. The service was insane, with several different servers taking care of chips, salsa, and bean dip (which was outstanding), taking and filling drink orders, taking food orders, etc. The food itself was fabulous. I had the chicken fajitas, which were spectacular, while my wife had the two-burrito plate, which she also loved. No room for dessert, so can't review that. I would highly recommend getting away from the strip and dining here, at least once, while in Las Vegas. The one thing we did NOT like was the photographer coming by to take pics and then later on, trying to sell you those pictures! They give you a nice little postcard souvenir with one of the pics, but I'm already spending a bit more than the "average" Mexican place; please don't do this to me!

Amazing food & decor

By Sid k |

When you are seated, they bring out a bowl of fresh hot chips with bean dip and a really good salsa. I ordered the #9 combo (cheese enchilada & taco) and it came out in nothing flat! In fact the kitchen was so quick that my server brought a small cup of the soup after the food was on the table. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with decor that I recall when I visited Mexico years ago. Great food + beautiful decor=one great place to eat at!

This Has to be The Best Mexican Restaurant in Las Vegas

By Shelly H |

The Mexican food at this establishment is excellent! The portions are very plentiful. The staff was attentive. I like spice with my Mexican food. The stuffed jalapeño fit the bill. The salsa and chips are delightful. I definitely would return here to feast again.

Outstanding Authentic Mexican

By Bill H |

I first went on a Sunday afternoon and the food was great. I took two clients there on Tuesday and they love it also. The hotel concierge recommended it as a place where locals love to go. Give it a try!

The Best Mexican Food North of the Border

By Marthwontcook |

A quick cab ride from the strip took us to an amazingly authentic Mexican experience. Our frozen margaritas were delicious in this 40 degree heat. The guacamole appy we ordered was made at our table & was such a big bowl we couldn't even finish it. We both ordered combo plates & they were so tasty. The chilli rellanos flavour was rich & prepared with a generous amount of cheese. Love this place & will be back for sure 😘

Excellent Food, Excellent Service, Superb Decor, with a side of Comedy.

By Susan V |

We found this place as a "happy accident". We were driving off the strip, and were pleasantly surprised with this Michoacan. Table-side guacamole... GREAT! Our waiter Saul customized it to my taste. My husband got a kick out of the menu. Pollo Correteado (The running chicken)...Puerquita Revolcada (The little female pig rolled in mud.) There are quite a few names on that menu when translated are quite hilarious!! In addition to the humor, the food was GREAT! My husband ordered the steak with cognac sauce, and I had the Santa Clara plate (guacamole tostada, cheese enchilada, beef taco). I ordered the peach margarita. YUMMM So good! People in other reviews have talked about the bean dip that comes with the chips. Yes, it's good! It's refried beans served with the chips. I wasn't thrilled with the salsa, but I am used to fresh salsa. You definitely want to give this place a try.

You will love the atmosphere

Tasty Mexican Cuisine on a Budget

By WonderWoman1975 |

A few months ago, I found this restaurant on a list of top Mexican restaurants in the U.S. I was so excited when we planned our trip for Vegas and decided to try it out. This hidden gem offered wonderful dishes for a reasonable price. Israel was our waiter and offered up freshly made chips, salsa and refried beans to nibble on before we ordered.Since we arrived during happy hour, I treated myself to a House Margarita on the rocks ($4.50 for the small - see my photo of what the small looks like). Be aware that, during happy hour, you can order drinks in the dining room but not the discounted appetizers. You must be at the bar to order those. Each dish comes with Sopa Fideo, a traditional Mexican soup with a tomato base and noodles. Delicious! I could have had a huge bowl as my meal and been fine. Next came the entree. I ordered the Tacambaro; Beef & bean burrito, beef taco, rice and refried beans. So good! My favorite Mexican restaurant is here in Salt Lake; however, this one is pulling in at a strong, second place. It's a bit off the beaten path, but definitely check it out if you love Mexican food. Delish!

If you love Mexican food this is a must try

By Lynda S |

We’re on vacation and drove by this place many times and the parking lot was packed every time. So we had to try it. So glad we stopped. We didn’t have a reservation and waited for an hour but the food was delicious. Food was fresh, hot and very tasty. Service was excellent. Next time we’re in Las Vegas this is on our favorite list.

Daily lunch spot

By John-n-Roz |

I come here almost every weekday for lunch and the food is spot on every day. The Mexican food is some of the best in town and the prices are very reasonable. The only server to have is Violetta. She makes sure your experience is as good as the foood

Darn good food and service but don't break out your huaraches.

By Steven M |

Authentic . . . Meh, depends upon your point of reference as to what that is. Having lived in Southern Mexico for more than ten years I can tell you it's NOT authentic to Michoacan or anywhere else in mexico I've found. But it is some of the best mexican STYLE food in the southern US. IE, you can't get mexican chicken, beef, or pork or the best cheeses in a restaurant here. Maize or corn in Mexico is all important for tortillas and tamal and they use what we call field corn and they get them warm and fresh daily. So the place to eat real 'authentic' mexican food is in Mexico. OK, so you may know all that. Michoacan is a nice place with some stereotypical decor. It's good but not great. Value is up there too but at $22 -$27 for a meal and tip it isn't falling into the cheap eats category for me. I could have just as good a meal or better in Mexico for under $4. If this is your price range for lunch or dinner you can do much worse in Las Vegas for more money. It's not hidden, from the Strip, just go out the back way from Caesars Palace go under Hwy 15 and onto Twain, head west about a mile and a half it's on the left at Decatur. PS they have bathtub sized Margaritas if that's your thing too, quality dictates price. Low end big rita is $15.

Great Break From Strip Food

By B. Anderson |

Wanted something different from the strip buffets and restaurants, so I decided to give this place a try. Very close to the strip, excellent food at a reasonable price and great service! Will definitely patronize this place again!

Very good food and excelente

By Yoshua |

Very good food and excelente service. The best margaritas in town. A place to eat good and have a good time

Wow! Great Food...Great Service...Great Price

By LasVegasGene |

My wife and I went on a Sunday evening and the parking lot was jammed. We thought we would have to wait for a table...but the restaurant is even bigger than the parking lot. We were seated immediately and greeted by all the waiters and waitresses...what a friendly place. There are 19 different combinations but you would be doing a personal disservice if you don't try one of their distinctive entrees. I had a whole deep fried tilapia complete with salad, potato, soup and tortillas for $14.99. If this restaurant was in a strip casino, the selections would have been $39 to $49 easy. It was delicious!! I plan on returning tomorrow for lunch.

Supurb hidden gem

By AllenF778 |

A hidden gem in Las Vegas. Service excellent. Food excellent. Prices very good. We were served (gratis) chips and salsa AND refried beans. I can't remember the last time refried bean were given as a free dish. AND IT WAS SOME OF THE BEST REFRIED BEANS I EVER HAD. The salsa was good, but I would have preferred it hotter. We were hungry from a day hiking so we also ordered a guacamole appetizer. The guac was prepared table side to our taste, also excellent. I ordered a coca-cola steak ala Mama Cielo, surprisingly it wasn't sweet at all just incredible juicy. My adventurous choice paid off. The service was exceptional. The server came by, without asking and refilled my drink whenever it was empty (which was often - did I mention 100 degree weather in Las Vegas and hiking). They also had a musician singing and playing Mexican love songs, surprisingly at the correct volume. If I lived in Las Vegas, this would be my number 1 Mexican restaurant.

Worst Mexican food in town.

By F9207VQjohnl |

The parking lot was full but the food at this Mexican restaurants was the worst I haver ever had. The deep fried fish was fishy and not fresh. The salsa was made with tomato paste. The complimentary soup was tomato paste based. Fries were stale. Rice was stale. Seafood Cocktail was the worst I have ever had. There are so many other Mexican Restaurants in town that has better value for the price. I would not go again and avoid this establishment. The waiters are super nice!

Wedding Celebration

By Gordon G |

We went here to celebrate for our friends wedding. This place was awesome! We had a very large group, but all of our servers were attentive and our meal was excellent! Everyone had a great time! This place has the best Top Shelf Margaritas in Vegas!

Get off the Strip

By Firejdb |

A great place, freshly prepared and well cooked Mexican food. The night I was there a funky band was playing. Nothing too loud just great for the ambience. Lots of Mexican families which I take to be the best recommendation.

Absolutely The Best Mexican Restaurant In Las Vegas

By Eleanor O |

My husband and I drive from Henderson a few times a month to enjoy the food, atmosphere and service at Bonitos. We have tried quite a few dishes and have never been disappointed. Whenever we have out of town guests we always take them to Bonitos and they all say it's the best Mexican food they have ever had. The menu is huge as are the portions. If you love Mexican food, this is the only place to go. If you aren't too full, try the cheesecake burrito for dessert!

Its now tradition, every time we go to Vegas we stop by Bonito Michoacan restaurant. Excellent food, great service, and fair prices. If you have a slight hang over ask for the "agua mineral preparada". Its mineral water, ice, lemon and salt. That will refresh you and rehydrate back to normal.

Best Mexican Food in All Las Vegas !!!!!

What a place to celebrate!

By Marsyrae |

My family came here to celebrate my grandsons 2nd birthday and I just can't say enough good things about it!!! The food is fabulous! They start you out with chips and a very delicious bean dip and salsa. A tasty soup accompanies every meal and the tortillas are made right on the premises. They had live music and a very festive atmosphere! The service was excellent and the margaritas big and delicious! Can't wait to go again!

Worst Mexican Restaurant Experience Ever

By lusciouslee |

This place was unbelievable and not in a good way. Beautiful decor and there ends the compliments. We were given a weird mole salsa and some pretty tasty bean dip for starters. The portions were small and we were told we had to pay an extra $3.50 for a second portion. That was a warning sign so we decided to order an appetizer to determine whether we would order a meal. The nachos looked like they were on crack. The portion was extremely small with little to no beans or cheese. The plate was 1/3 of the plate. The bus boy brought us a side portion of the beans at no charge. I ordered a Cadillac Margherita which was more like a used Honda accord for $13.00. Needless to say, we left hungry. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

Was good

By NatRod |

The "soup" was great. The pork was very tender and tasty h beans were really good also. The taco was good & tender but meat didn't have much flavor. The tamale & cheese enchilada for me was ok. Fun ambience also.

Bland, overpriced food!

By FGonzalez93033 |

Disappointed! This is mediocre food that’s overpriced! This ain’t authentic nor reflective of Michoacan dishes. The fideo needed flavor. The shrimp chile relleno dish had a sauce that was tomato purée with no flavor. My daughter had a tamale that was grainy; the masa was not smooth. There was a odd sauce on top, I assume to add moisture back to the tamale but it was bad. The only item we enjoyed were the tortillas de harina.

Average

By Heather |

The salsa was too spicy for my liking, but the horchata was delicious and the beef taco was good as well. The cheese enchilada was just average and had a sour sauce, and the rice was pretty average/bland. The refried beans had a good consistency and the side soup was also very good. The service was friendly, but they were more focused on seating people then letting me pick up my carryout order.

Taste and visual sensation

By Alfredo B |

Outstanding food, friendly service, and amazing atmosphere! We felt like we were in Mexico! We celebrated my husband’s birthday and coordinated long distance with Perla. Everything was exceptional! The staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was a taste sensation! If you’re celebrating any occasion, I highly recommend Bonito Michoacán! Too bad they don’t have one in Rhode Island!

Delicious

We loved the fresh guacamole made table side. The food was phenomenal and exceeded our expectations. We are big fans of latino food. Reccomend stopping in for an bite.

looking for a great meal off the strip and found this wonderful family owned local restaurant on trip advisor. the staff are friendly and super helpful. the food is beyond excellent and the prices are great. I will tell you the Mole they have is AWESOME. they serve the typical chips and salsa but also bean dip which all are homemade and awesome and then a cup of grandma's noodle soup while you wait for your fantastic dinners. you have got to try this restaurant!!

A very unique restaurant!

Our dinner here was a great experience! Its a very busy family owned restaurant! My husband ordered a guava margarita and it was delicious and highly recommended They bring out complementary salsa and bean dip and a small bowl of soup. The soup had wonderful flavor. I couldn’t believe it was complementary We also ordered table side guacamole. It was one of the best I’ve had!! We had a variety of entrées. Fajitas, enchiladas and tacos. All of us were very pleased. They had live music which also was very nice We will definitely return to this restaurant. The decor is amazing and the food is great!

One of our Favorites in Las Vegas

By michaelkQ5525HV |

We visit Las Vegas 2-3 times a year and always eat here. The food is excellent-the menu is large and has all kinds of offerings from traditional to exotic. Our server Lencho was friendly and attentive. The San Nuevo chicken is a favorite and the home made guacamole made tableside is always a treat. We will be back again!

Excellent Mexican Food...

By David G |

So glad that I saw someone mention this place saying it was one of the best in Vegas, I can say they are not wrong. We went for an early lunch they open at 10AM. We got here around 10:45 good thing the place filled up pretty quickly. They bring chips, salsa and refried beans to the table, delicious. My wife had shrimp tacos, I had carnitas, the tacos were loaded with shrimp my carnitas were tender and so tasty, both came with rice & refried beans along with a soft drink. I have said before that you can tell a restaurant great when its frequented by a highly Mexican clientele. We were made to feel at home our server was outstanding, she handled so many tables with grace, engagement and the ability to anticipate your needs. We cant wait to go back...

Great funky ambiance with great Mexican food. The guacamole made to order at your table is the best.

Excellent!

Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. I had the Steak Ranchero which was very tender and flavorful. My wife and kids had assorted items which were also very good. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were large. I highly recommend this place!

Authentic Mexican Fare

This is a great spot for some "real" Mexican food. We got the Fajitas De Pollo, steak enchiladas with mole (the mole is on point), their margaritas are amazing as well. This was a great visit for us.

Great lunch spot

By Joseph F |

Wow! I have eaten here a few times always having a shrimp entree. Today I stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered a beef taco salad. It was phenomenal! With a cup of their soup and a bowl of their home made chips, salsa and refried beans dip the total (with a soda) was $15! Great food at great prices.

A very pleasant surprise off the strip

By Gary S |

A very pleasant surprise off the strip. I ordered fish prepared “Baja style” from the menu section devoted to healthy Mexican foods. It was surprisingly good. The slivered almonds and olives topping the fillet were great taste and textural components. For desert I had a yummy flan.

Great, tasty authentic mexican food

Excellent service, great atmosphere, and above all authentic mexican food. Any dish you get is sure to be delicious! I will sure be back.

Long wait, great food

By Sara B |

The food is amazing. Wait staff is on top of everything. No delay in anything. We went on cinco de mayo so the wait was long but well worth it. Hubs really liked the cilantro steak. I had shrimp and it was good too.

Excellent food, service, drinks!

By Tracy T |

First time here and won’t be my last! The service we received was excellent from the moment we walked in until we left. Chips and salsa were good. We tried a strawberry habanero margarita (yum!) and a few different entrees to get a good variety of things to try. We were treated very well by the wait staff and over all had a wonderful experience.

Best in Mexican food in Vegas

By shirleyfoemmel |

This was our first visit and we were pleasantly pleased on how delicious everything tasted. It had a just cooked fresh taste. We were welcomed like we were family and got the feeling they really appreciated our business and wanted to please. A large family was celebrating a mother/grandmother birthday and the staff sang Happy Birthday, then took family pictures for them. When I get back to Las Vegas Bonito Michoacan will be my first stop for dinner.

Was Supposed to Drive Home the Next Day, But Couldn't

By Junell P |

The service was excellent. Shame on the cooks for making the wait people look bad. I ordered the lime chicken. The chicken was overcooked and the fried rice was undercooked. No one appreciates crunchy rice. The flavor was eh. Probably will never go back when in Vegas. The parking lot was full . . . can't figure that one out. Must be for the waiters, they were awesome.

A great surprise

By Jose Luis L |

We arrived by chance and we were very pleasantly surprised because the service was very good, the food was excellent in flavor and the portions were very generous, the pot coffee was very good, we tried the breakfasts and we were all very satisfied, I tried the tongue a la Michoacan and it was also an excellent choice, the atmosphere of the restaurant is also very pleasant.

Great Mexican Restaurant in Vegas

By thinktravelCA |

The restaurant itself is very pretty and will make you think you are in Mexico. Nice background music, furniture and art. The service is great. The food was wonderful and well-priced. Very extensive menu. We ordered Margueritas made from fresh lime rather than mix and they were very nice. The tortillas are made by hand and you can watch them being made. Wish this restaurant was in our town.

Best Mexican food I have ever had!

This place is absolutely fantastic! Great service, good value and the food was obviously home made, great portions and tasted great. If you like Mexican, go here! I believe there are three in the area.

Great Mexican Restaurant

By drvid1 |

Was there for an annual trade show, and as usual the Strip restaurants were slammed. I have spent a lot of time in LV for business and have found some Off Strip Non Glitz restaurants. This one is an absolute gem right on Decatur Blvd, West of the Rio. My 5 European professional (sales) friends loved the place. Definite authentic Mexican feel, mostly happy local, animated, friendly patrons, and sometimes a bit of a wait for your orders but very well worth it. A little wait to get in too, but a GREAT waiter and great food made it a place to which I am happy to take friends and business colleagues especially if you tire of the plastic glitz of the Strip.

Great Authentic Food

By Gary S |

Authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. Some reviewers have criticized the service. Ours was excellent. Order the guacamole. They make it from Scratch at your table. Great Margaritas also.

Deliciousness!

By Meghann P |

We were a bit jet lagged and tired so looked for a place that had a mixture of food - this place definitely delivers:). My African husband was able to get Goat Soup & Fried Fish and we had homemade guacamole at our table - yum! The Tamale and Chile Rellano amazing also:)

Amazing food. Friendly staff, excellent service. Very authentic flavors of this cuisine. If you like Mexican Food you will love this place

Disappointing

By andreaslzrg |

We were looking for an authentic mexican restaurant and loved the reviews. We decided to try it and definitely regretted the whole experience. You can literally eat better tasting food at Robertos etc. I ordered enchiladas and they had absolutely no taste. Fountain drinks are limited to one refill per visit before they charge extra. Which is ridiculous in my opinion. Food was out in 5 minutes definitely dont think it was cooked that quick Disappointing to say the least.
