Just hit town and was looking for someplace to eat. Not very big, but oh my goodness it was amazing! We had the pulled pork sandwich, shoestring fries, and baked beans. Service was excellent. Very friendly and Fast!!! Good was Hot. Tender, and just the perfect amount of smoke flavor. ( I’m from Kansas City, and find other bbq places hard to compare to KC) They were also very reasonable. If there is enough time before we leave town, I wouldn’t be Disappointed if we went there again!

Found while at a conference and enjoyed great BBQ while getting away from the hotel for a change in pace -would definitely visit again.

Went to Boomers BBQ for dinner. It is kind of a hole in the wall place. Good service, very good food and reasonable prices. I had the brisket sandwich w/ coleslaw. Very good. My wife had a variety BBQ basket w/ fries. Also very good The drinks were very good. Best Bloody Mary we have had in many years. The beer was cold. Service was attentive. I'd happily go back again.

No idea how good the bbq is but stop by if fresh undercooked chicken wing is in your favarite list - mine was so fresh that after one hard bite I happened to see running blood from within a drumstick piece. Bartender was kind enough to take it back and recook but I lost my appetite by then given that the taste wasn't anything special. Really cheap though!

Had a barbecue chicken salad. Reasonably fresh, but overpriced for the portion side. Limited selection of wine, but the pinot grigio was served nice and cold. Service friendly, even for a couple of women who looked like we didn't really belong there.

I only get to Portandf once a year and Boomers is always my first stop. They haven't lost a thing in five years. Juicy and taty burgers every time! Small plates like sliders for the sissies and awesome 1/3 pounders for us serious burger freaks. Pulled pork po' boy is also a winner. The wonderful bucket of skinny fries served with everything would be a meal in itself. Add to this a nice cold draft beer in a chilled glass and this foodie is in HEAVEN. You really must try it.

Last night in Oregon before we fly home - got a room at the Rodeway to be fairly close to airport - able to walk to Boomers to eat dinner and have a beer. Good selection of beers. It’s a small BBQ/sports bar - no kids allowed. Food was good and affordable - Pulled Pork Nachos are a tasty change from the average appetizer. Taco Tuesday was three pulled pork tacos for $7.95. Good variety of sauces. Lots of locals came in to watch the game and eat too.

Visited Boomers twice, whilst in Portland. We came here as our hotel was not too far. Boomers has great food choice if you love BBQ. The meat was well cooked and tasted fantastic. Staff really friendly. Very good value for money. If you are in Portland you need to come to Boomers

My husband and I were craving bbq pulled pork and this place hit the spot. It was so good and the service was great :-)

We had passed by here multiple times when coming back to the hotel, so we decided to finally try the place. I am so glad we did! Parking was not an issue at all, but we did go early evening, so I'm not sure what it would be like later. We were greeted as soon as we came in and placed drink orders within moments, which arrived in Mason jars...nice touch! The waitress was on the ball and made sure we knew about happy hour specials and gave us just the perfect amount of time to make our selections. The interior is an interesting mixture of 50s Americana with some Australian tidbits thrown in. It was extremely inviting and comfortable! My girlfriend ordered the baby back ribs (4), toasted corn, and fries. She barely said a word outside of "mmmm". Once she finished the ribs and corn, she tried to eat just a little bit of the fries, but the huge container was half finished before we made the waitress take it away...they were that good. I ordered the sliced beef brisket, toasted corn, and Texas toast. The slices were the perfect thickness (believe me, I've been to places where they are no more than shavings). The toasted corn tasted as if it had been placed over a fire then taken off the cob, it was simply amazing!!! Texas toast is well, Texas toast. No complaints about at all. Before I even received the check, the girlfriend was asking if we could come back again. This is definitely a good place to go!

Friendly staff, great food and happy hour. I go there on every trip now. Brisket sliders and tacos on HH are the bomb.

It was late and I was hungry. Checked Trips Advisor and saw listing. Liz and the gentleman that cooked were very friendly. I got 🍺 at happy hour price. I ordered half rack of ribs. Ribs were succulent and good. Mixed sweet and hot bbq sauce and it was tasty. I added veggies and it hit the spot. I was pleasantly surprised. I tried a margarita after dinner. I enjoyed it.

We had so much fun here. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was the best. We had a lot of fun with the waitress and both totally enjoyed our meals. My husband had the salad with brisket on top and I had the salad with the chicken on top. Both were excellent!!! We also shared some chicken wings that were delicious! Worth going to!

Boomer's is more of a local watering hole with TVs covering virtually every space on the walls. A series of boomerangs decorate the bar area, I guess giving the restaurant it's name. The menu is heavy on BBQ (their cooker is outside). I got the sliders which let me taste the brisket, chicken and the port. The pork won hands down. My husband got the pork po' boy while two friends had salads. All were happy. Another friend tried the ribs and wasn't impressed, while his southern wife got the hush puppies and collard greens which were specials on the whiteboard. She rated them very southern. Prices were very good but for the longest time there was only one server and she was overworked. Once a second server showed up, things went more smoothly.

If you’re looking for a done-right po’ Boy, consider Boomers BBQ. We literally left the airport and headed here at the advice of our hotel, and we are so satisfied with this choice! Try mixing the house-made mustard, hot, and sweet BBQ sauces; truly outstanding. The bun didn’t overpower the sandwich and the shoestring fries were crispy, again “done right”! Highly recommend the blackberry cider and the Drop Top Amber Ale. A great start to our visit to the Northwest!

Don't expect a flashy place just good BBQ. The lunch specials are plentiful and very tasty. This little place has limited seating and parking so get here early

Really wanted to like this place. It has a good local vibe, and quite a following from the locals as well. It’s more of a bar than a restaurant, with a menu that includes bbq and burgers, and a variety of sides. But does it live up to the hype? Ordered their raved about burger with fried onions, pulled pork, and bbq sauce. First off, this isn’t a hand crafted burger, it’s a pre-made patty: And not a very good one. The texture wasn’t very appetizing, and sadly, it was undercooked. The pulled pork was good though, but the sauce was terrible. Being from the south, I may be a bit too picky with the bbq sauces I sample while traveling, but this one is way off… Add to that, the mac n cheese, though appealing in looks, was served ice cold. I will say, the fries I added were very good: And the beer specials at happy hr are a good deal as well. All n all, I found Boomer’s to be a good concept; and though popular, quite a bit overrated…. Sorry

This bar was a great little find. Incredibly efficient staff, I would say the best bar man/waiter I’ve ever seen. Really tasty good cheap food and also good drink selection. Well worth a try.

We saw this location as a choice while we were in the area and decided to give it a try. Major WIN. The barbeque sauces were great, and the meats were terrific. While we are not fans of chicken legs, however, the seasoning on these made them wonderful. We ordered the well-priced 'Serious Starter' (an appetizer sampler) and we devoured everything with at least 4 spontaneous yums (A spontaneous yum is when you mutter 'yum' , 'mmm", or equivalent as you swallow a bite) Our only regret is that our need to diet prevented us from ordering more!

I'm so happy the Rodeway Hotel recommended Boomers Pub. During a busy expo event (dog show we were attending) last weekend we received fantastic service from Matt. Overall experience was 5 stars! Food was fantastic! On our first visit I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger, and on my return visit I had the Crispy Chicken chopped salad. Large portions. The restaurant was full and Matt managed to make every person in that room feel taken care of. It is clear he loves his job. His attentive service made the whole visit top notch!

This restaurant feels like a bar that decided to serve food. It is a very small place with maybe 10 tables located in Jantzen Beach on Hayden Island. Minors are only allowed before 3pm. The BBQ'd meat is very tasty even though everything we tried when we were there was a bit dry. They don't sauce the meats before serving them so that their smoky flavor is showcased. They do bring bottles of house BBQ sauce to the table however. We shared a sampler platter that included pulled chicken and pork, baby back ribs, pork loin, brisket and a grilled sausage. All the meat had good flavor if a bit dry. The ribs were quite tender and the pulled chicken was very dry. They offer a selection of sides to go with the meats which include shoestring fries, tater tots, baked beans, hush puppies, coleslaw and collard greens. We were there on a Tuesday evening and they were out of collard greens and tater tots and forgot to make our hush puppies. Another member of our party ordered a "peach breeze" cocktail that we could only taste the vodka in and not the cranberry, pineapple or peach schnapps flavors that was supposed to be in it. All in all, it was decent food for a decent price but didn't leave us planning a next time.

This is the place to go for happy hour or supper. Try the tator tot nachos they are very tasty. The rib plates are good too. The staff was very helpful to us.

Great food! Amazing drinks and the waitress/waiter are phenomenal!! Tater tots are to die for and same with the Mac and cheese blood sucker drink is amazing can’t taste the alcohol very sweet!!

Our friend took us to Boomers this afternoon for lunch. Great pulled pork with coleslaw and a couple of baby back ribs. With a rum and coke. My husband had a brisket salad. Good BBQ - good meat in depth taste, not just sauce taste. They smoke their own meats. You really have to look for their location

Well. Almost get what you pay for. I called in an order and failed to check to make sure it was all there - missed out on the tots. But danged - these folks actually give you something for your dollar. And that something is great ribs. Not just skinny ribs, but ribs that actually have some meat on them. Wow. After other "bbq" places in Vancouver and Portland, these folks were a breath of fresh (or perhaps smokey) air. Thank you!

My wife and I were staying at the Jantzen Beach RV Park. A nice short walk and we found Boomers. Great smoke meat and chicken. I had the smoked brisket salad with blue cheese; me wife had the chicken chunk salad. Both were excellent. Service was great.

Enjoyed their bbq ribs and homemade sauce. Disappointed they wouldn't substitute brisket for the pulled pork on the rib combo.

Boomer's is a relatively small place that is a bar as well. The menu is a short two-pager. There is a decent tap beer selection, and a well-stocked bar. We stopped in after a long day at work when we just wanted a convenient place to eat. This fit the bill just fine. My ribs were tender, but a bit greasy. Pulled Pork was allright. The sides were not that generous unless you get the "bucket o' fries" or whatever it is (it is massive). The two sauces were good; one sweeter and one hotter. Overall, Boomer's is not bad, but it isn't going to stand out at all in an area like greater Portland.

I had pulled pork and my wife had ribs which she said were just great. Not sure I could say my pulled pork was great but it was pretty good. They have a decent bar and an outdoor patio.

I stopped in and tried a combo basket. One of the ribs was excellent. The other was dry and excessively salty. The fries were shoe strings. Not a favorite! The sausage was dry and too hot. The brisket wasn't identifiable and lacked any sort of smoke ring. The slaw was refreshing and moist. The beer was great! I like spice and salt, but there was too much! Service was lovely!

We live on the island and whenever we don't feel like making dinner, we come to Boomers. The service is great, happy hour is very good, and the BBQ never disappoints. Make sure to try out one of their daily drink or food specials.

A great, not so expensive place to go for BBQ style food. Chicken fingers with shoestring fries was good. Chicken wings were good. Tator tot nachos is a new twist and delicious! If you are in the area I suggest going in and giving them a try!

Friendliest, sweetest bartender ever! They serve pulled pork on just about everything and it's the only meat available in the bar after dinner hours. Food was average (we had the pulled pork sliders and the nacho tots with pulled pork and [one up: real tillamook cheddar]), but I probably wouldn't eat there again. They were having happy hour at 11pm and prices for drinks were awesome - $2.75 wells and $1.00 16 oz PBR's (if you like PBR), the only wine they had was Sutter Home brand but they had lots of microbrews. I'd have a drink there again, and definitely check out their brew selection, but it's not a great social venue where I'd go with friends - it was just conveniently located right next to my conference hotel.

First time we had the slider trio and we choose to have the variety meats of chicken, brisket and pulled pork. We had the onions and coleslaw on them with "hot" BBQ on the side. Delicious! The next time we had the pulled pork "poor boy" again with the fried onions and coleslaw option and the BBQ sauce on the side. Also, had the slender french fries. Very, very good. Atmosphere is casual with butcher paper table cloths and paper towel rolls. Utensils and condiments are at the table, but the staff will bring anything else they have if you ask. Will return again!

What was enjoyable was the creative BBQ offering beyond the typical BBQ plates. The 'brisket and blue cheese salad' and the 'pulled pork sliders' were rich in flavor and very enjoyable. However, never order a burger at a BBQ place, I was intrigued with the name 'Ghost Burger - Some like it HOT' but it turned out to be an overcooked beef patty with no intense peppery or spicy heat from the jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, pepper bacon or house-made ghost sauce. A sincere disappointment... This is a small business with space set aside for gaming machines, a bar and about 10 tables...and a creditable selection of unusual beers. Expect to wait during normal eating times.

Whenever we got to Portland in the motorhome we stay at the Jantzen Beach RV Park and have driven by this place many times and not stopped. Finally, this time on a solo trip, I was looking for a good BBQ place and didn't want to drive too far. Stopped in and found that it is kind of like a neighborhood hangout, but in a nice way. They only had four beers on tap, but a larger stock of bottled, so I had a Deschutes IPA which was good, After looking over the menu, I ordered the sampler which consisted of pulled pork, pulled chicken, pulled brisket, some ribs and a great sausage. I also had a side of beans which were loaded with meat and very much to my liking, as were the crispy tots which tasted as if they had a hint of Old Bay Seasoning. The pulled meats were all all nice and tender and flavorful and the ribs, while not quite falling off the bone and had a nice bit of smoke coloring. I asked if they did the wet and dry rubs and they do. I do my ribs this way also, yellow mustard and then my dry rub. The mustard holds the moisture in and keeps the dry rub from coming off during cooking. All in all it was a great dinner and I talked with the owners wife, who said that they also eat out a lot and we traded restaurants. All in all a great experience. Went back the next night for a night cap and had an appetizer of their pork fingers, which were sliced pork loin with their regular sauce on some and grainy mustard on the rest. I do feel that their house mustard was superior. Oh, and it was fun talking with a number of the regulars.

Friendly service. I asked for a recommendation and she said the daily special which they have on the menu every day because it was so popular. It includes pulled pork, 2 ribs, French fries and coleslaw. I really liked the sweet BBQ sauce I added to the pork. The ribs were just right. Would've loved a couple more. Very good!

good food with nice prices on the menu and happy hour. Full bar and several tv's. The Boomers staff were nice and easy to talk to. The food came fast and was very good. I liked my pork bbq and string fries. Iwill be back.

I got the everyday special, ribs, pulled pork, cole slaw and fries. It was very very good. I thought the baby back ribs were as good as I ever had and I go to a lot of BBQ places. I do not care for a heavy smoked taste and these were just right. The pulled pork was also excellent. My wife had the 1/2 chicken and cleaned her plate, she said it was very good.$3.00 Bloody Marys were good but a little too spicy for me. Good fries also. Not over priced, well worth the money spent.

We stopped by because it was close . It didn’t look like much but the food made up for that. Onion rings were great, ranch… yes! Blue cheese burger was the best I’ve had because they melted the blue cheese and the bbq sauce on it was good too. We got just enough food.

We were staying in Janzten Beach, Portland, and we didn't want to eat hotel food. Yelping brought us a bunch of mediocre options, until we found this awesome place! When you get there, it's nothing more than a hole in the wall dive bar in the middle of strip. Walking inside, it's a sports bar with plenty of TVs to see your sports and a full bar. The bartender was nice, and the drinks she made were dangerous! Tasty as hell and hard to not chug down the Strawberry Lemonade drink. We ordered the BBQ rib meal for my girlfriend and I had their Dog Pile Sandwich. All recommendations said to try the roasted corn, so that was a side with the ribs. Holy crap, this may be some of the BEST barbecue sauce we've every had! We bought a bottle of their hot and a bottle of their sweet to take home it was so good! And that corn? Tasted like it was roasted on the cob, cut off, buttered, and roasted again! Super tasty! The dog pile sandwich?! Holy crap, it was everything I hoped it would be! Texas toast filled with pulled beef, slaw, bbq sauce, and a mountain of crispy cut fries satisfied me in a way no sandwich ever has again! I had to attempt a recreation at home with the sauce we bought, not a good but still worth every bit of it! Give em try for sure!
Fabulous French Fries
My friends and I enjoyed delicious sliders and fabulous French Fries on our visit. Quick service with alcohol if your interested!
