In the hip Fulton Market area. Lots of options on the menu. Nice atmosphere and perhaps a little less noisy than a lot of places in the area. My only advice is to be careful not to order too many dishes. You can always order additional plates of tapas.

What a great place in addition to all fantastic restaurants for foodies on Fulton Market!! This restaurant is new to the scene as it opened very recently but already caught our attention. We stepped in on Sunday around 3:30pm. They were still serving brunch option and we were told that they are switching to regular dinner between 4-5pm. The place ambience is very cool, lots of people, chatty, staff very welcoming. Open kitchen is always a good perspective giving you somewhat interaction with the food and its making. On the back wall there are lots of canned food, and bottles , and other food ingredients original to Spain. Our server Anna was super nice, thank you for a great dinner experience:). Boqueria is typical Tapas restaurant so sharing the plates is a way to go. The have very interesting wine list with prices somewhat reasonable. We chose a bottle of Verdejo, a white refreshing wine that we always take when when we see one (cannot be disappointed with it :)) We chose few options that day: TABLA DE EMBUTIDOS--platter of meats of which Jamon Serrano was the most delicious. The whole trio was served with pan con tomate (according to our server they fly this bread from Spain and it is rubbed with tomatoes, garlic and olive.) There were also some warmed olives served as well with this plate. PULPO A LA PLANCHA--as I mentioned many time we are big, big fans of octopus and try it always where we find it on restaurant menu. This one was fantastic, one of the best ones we tried so far. You can definitely tell about quality of the ingredient at the first bite. Made on point, ideal, not hard, not chewy, just right. Served with potatoes, pimenton, and fennel. Simplicity is the key in this dish and I can still taste it :) GAMBAS AL AJILLO--shrimps, lobster reduction, brandy. Served with bread. This was very comforting dish, you can go ahead and dip the bread in that delicious sauce. We tried only three dishes at Boqueria but already felt in love with this place. Definitely the best Tapas right now I can vote now with both hands and we are coming back. Shortly :)))

Service was excellent! All our servers were so friendly. The food itself was also excellent. We had the croquettes - imagine the best cream of mushroom soup you’ve ever had wrapped in a gently fried croquette - the ham and cheese croquette was also savory and delicious. We tried the “Gambas Al Ajillo” - shrimp in THE most delectable broth - slightly tangy and oh so buttery with a nice slab of homemade bread to scoop it up. Our third delight was the Patatas Bravas - crispy potatoes in a garlic aioli. They were also good dipped in the remaining broth from the shrimp! Last but not least - a pitcher of red sangria. Everything was fantastic and would highly recommend - especially for sharing and trying something new!!

Nice space, right in Fulton Market. Outdoor seating as well though we sat inside. Service was good. We were seated very close to another table but surprising felt very isolated. Had 2 tapas dishes, both good especially the broccoli and then a medium paella. The paella was good, maybe not great but very enjoyable. A little pricey but understandable for the area. Definitely recommend.

Great place. The staff is very nice. Especially Havi the bartender. The tomatoe and garlic bread is great. Pretty drinks. Nice atmosphere.

I enjoyed the decor, trying to resemble a market. Came midweek so not to full, service was good, volume was not too high so had a nice conversation. Overall great time

We had an incredible meal at Boqueria and it really felt authentic. We have actually been to the real Boqueria market and they do capture this sense of what eating there is all about. The menu is very focused on small Spanish dishes, and they’re all perfectly prepared with an excellent array of choices for both Carnivores and vegans, and the selection for drinks is excellent as well. The staff is very knowledgeable, our table was ready as we arrived, and all the COVID-19 protocols were being followed. We felt very safe here. Your place is beautiful it feels fresh and you do get a sense that you were eating in Spain. The restaurant is from a price perspective on the high end but again this is expected in Chicago in Fulton market. Overall we had a great experience. We particularly enjoyed the Paella as well as the Catalan bread.

Boquria Tapas Bar is a true gem for anyone who loves bold flavors, a laid-back atmosphere, and impeccable service. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance invites you to settle in and enjoy—relaxed yet vibrant, perfect for anything from date night to a casual dinner with friends. The menu is a celebration of variety and creativity. Boquria offers a wide selection of small plates, each crafted with care and packed with flavor. Highlights include the tender lamb skewers, crispy-on-the-outside, creamy-on-the-inside croquetas, flavorful sliders, and perfectly cooked octopus that melts in your mouth. Every dish feels like its own little experience, and it’s easy to keep ordering “just one more” to share. The cocktails are just as memorable. The shishito margarita, in particular, is a standout—fresh, slightly smoky, and a perfect complement to the bold flavors on the menu. The bar takes pride in its signature drinks, and it shows in both the taste and the presentation. What really sets Boquria apart, though, is the service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive, making sure your experience is smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for a spot with delicious food, inventive drinks, and a welcoming vibe, Boquria Tapas Bar is definitely worth a visit.

We had a company holiday dinner at Boqueria last weekend and rented out the whole restaurant. The food choices, drink and dinner were all excellent. Service in general was very good as well as everyone was kind, energetic and timely. Closing out was a bit of a hassle however this is normal when dealing with an open bar. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for an event.

We tried Boqueria for lunch during Restaurant Week, and were very happy we did. We went with the $24 fixed price menu, starting with the Pan con Tomate and the Patatas Brava. Based on the menu description, we had expected the Pan con Tomate to be a few pieces of grilled bread rubbed with tomato, garlic and olive oil (as we'd experienced in tapas restaurants in Spain.) Instead, it was a single piece of bread with the expected rubbing, but also unexpectedly topped with tasty ham (Serrano?). Very good, but since the menu hadn't mentioned ham on it, the dish was not what we'd expected. The Patatas Bravas was a generous portion of deep fried potato pieces in a mildly spicy sauce with garlic aioli, They were excellent. For our second courses we had Croquetas Cremosas and Gambas al Ajillo. The croquetas dish consisted of 3 each of mushroom and Serrano ham. The mushroom ones were wonderfully tasty, and the "ham" ones were very good, but we didn't detect any ham in them. (Maybe the ham had migrated to the Pan con Tomate?) The Gambas was a dish of about a dozen succulent shrimp in a very tasty sauce of garlic, brandy and olive oil, and served with hearty bread. Churros con Chocolate was the dessert offering. The warm fried dough, coated with sugar and cinnamon and filled with chocolate was the perfect end to the meal. Throughout, the service was friendly and attentive. Despite the mystery of the wandering ham, we enjoyed our lunch and look forward to visiting again

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Although we made reserverations, we ended up having a head count that far exceeded our reservation but the restaurant was very helpful in accomdating our request. Additionally, the staff was very patient and attentive to our needs despite the chaos. We were convinced to order one of the "tours" of the menu - i wasn't a very big fan. It was an opportunity to try the various tapas dishes that they had available, but I felt like it was too much food for us to consume. Additionally, the dishes that I was most interested in came towards the end at which point we didn't have the abilty to eat any more. I would reccomend that you go with your own choices.

Very good food and good drinks. Octopus, steak, shrimp and mushrooms all very good. Paella also flavorful. Nice outdoor patio. Great service. Enjoyable evening with friends.

Too bad Covid dampened our experience with this restaurant, the inside of the restaurant is very pleasant and ambience is so nice. We end up in the outside patio. Service is fast, food is amazing and location is great. Paella is seafood experience and don't forget the churros....so good!!!!

I was there yesterday with a friend and even though the food was delicious, they are not taking any covid 19 measures other than wearing masks. The so called patio eas actually completely covered and was not properly aired. Tables were not separated between each other. I take the covid safety guidelines very seriously and this is not safe. I won't ever return until thinga get better.

The service and the food are the best. I recommend this restaurant in Chicago. I'm from Texas. We were there one night for dinner and we liked it so much that we went back the next day...

We went to eat family. The attention was excellent. We ordered: croquettes, bread with tomato, olives, table of cheeses and pickles, omelette and potatoes bravas. Everything was delicious and well served. The atmosphere is calm and the decoration is very nice.

As good as Boqueria Soho. No surprise here. Went there a few times. First visit was a bit off track but they were new in town. Staff is very friendly and the food is great. Excellent paella. They are not helped with the location, at the very entrance of Fulton market. I like it though because it’s usually not overcrowded.

went for lunch and had the chef’s menu. every plate was scrumptious and graciously served by casey. warm, low-key atmo and an overall lovely experience.

Tasty but disappointing meal for four. Because of COVID, ordered everything at the start and asked the waitress to stage it out over time. Ordered 6-7 tapas, plus a half chicken, steak, and paella. Plus soft drinks. Serious lack of coordination and just generally poor service. Water pitcher kept getting taken away when low or empty, but not returned (had to ask for a new one each time). Soft drinks took 15 minutes; so did the refills (which were charged again -- maybe normal in NYC, but in Chicago you'd expect free refills on iced tea and soda -- and certainly would expect to be told about the extra charge). Tapas started coming very quickly -- indeed, there were pretty much all but one out in 10-12 minutes (too fast); then the last tapas and the chicken and steak; then a long wait and the paella shows up. Poorly spaced, no visits from staff in between. No checking on drinks, food -- the one thing done consistently well was offering new plates. A few apologies and they gave us some churros for the "inconvenience." Ambiance was very loud for an empty place, but some like that. Overall sense -- the food was excellent, the service poor. Really enjoyed the dates, the garlic shrimp, the iberico ham, cheese, potatoes -- lots of great dishes. Only the paella was a bit disappointing (given that it was about an hour after we ordered it, I have to assume someone didn't start it and then tried to rush it rather than admit the truth and risk us cancelling it).

We went to this place with a local as per her suggestion. The whole ambience is very good. Great music to keep you happy and pepped up along with very delicious Spanish food. They also have outdoor seating during summer. Sangria was apt with right taste. Do not forget to try their dessert.

We were greeted right away at the door. This place was hopping! Our server came over to greet us and walked us through the menu with delight. Everything we tried was delicious from the croquettes to the pulpo. Fabulous dessert. Great service. Still packed when we left.

Boqueria is a big, busy Fulton Market restaurant with a medium-sized menu of Spanish foods that are basic and familiar. The attractive decor evokes the Boqueria Mercado in Barcelona. It is part of a chain with outposts in several other major American cities. It's a place you can go for after work drinks and snacks, for a light meal of small plates, or chow down with tapas, a main course and dessert. Reservations are necessary: when we arrived about 7pm on a Wednesday, a party of 3 was told they could sit out on the heated patio (in November!) but there was no available indoor seating for walk-ins. There are no menu surprises and, I suspect, the kitchen strives for consistency rather than allowing any originality to creep in to the dishes that are produced. So the food is well-prepared and the ingredients are of good quality but I found it boring. My companion, however, found it pleasing. We had a dinner of all tapas: 6 dishes plus dessert, which was ample for 2. We were seated immediately, given menus and our waitress came almost at once to see if we had questions. Once we ordered, the first dishes came quickly and followed each other every few minutes. With one cocktail, the bill came to about $130 with tax but before tip.

This place was just decent & sort of on the expensive side of the spectrum. Nothing stuck out so I doubt I’d return here. I will state that the portions are on the larger aside as far as tapas are concerned

My girlfriend and I go there all the time! We tend to frequent there because the general manager Omar does a fantastic job! He’s always very professional and his staff follows his lead as far as being steadfast and accommodating to all guests. I highly recommend for anyone is looking for a delicious Tapas no matter the occasion! Look forward to heading back there and sitting in my favorite booth!

I am seafood lover. Always looking for an octopus. Outside seating, the service was excellent. Delectable good and cocktails, this is your place in Chicago! I recommend the octopus, it is scrumptious!

Food lacked authenticity, service was slow and erratic. Ambience was nice and my mock-tail was excellent. I don’t think their prices are justified by the quality of their offerings.

They totally took care of us. Sierra, our server, was so knowledgeable and kind and fun!! ALL of the food explodes with taste.

Excellent option! All the dishes were delicious and at the correct temperature: I recommend the ham croquettes and the patatas bravas!! The service was also very good and Alvaro took care of us quite well. The place is very nice and we really liked its casual atmosphere.

Very authentic tapas small plates with high quality freshly cooked bites. Loved the stuffed dates and the Ham croquettes. The apple fritter to die for But all the food was very good. Friendly atmosphere in fact we sat at a bank of 4 small tables and where all talking with complete strangers exchanging bites and chatting Good atmosphere and fun staff only one small negative it’s very loud Would definitely go again

Very pleasant sitting outside. Service very good. The asparagus was my favorite dish. I was not overly wowed, but would tell people to go if asked if they should eat there.
Some wine and a bite while killing time
Boquearía came in handy as we needed to kill some time before another reservation elsewhere. The wine we ordered was pretty good as were the couple small dishes (sorry but don’t remember the names). Sitting outside was perfect as was service. So one of these days we’ve got to go back and try out a full fledged meal.
