A Tapas Party

By MLB |

We went for the unlimited Tapas brunch honestly because it was about the only reservation we could get. I was concerned because the price seemed a bit high. I’m now convinced the only thing not “great” about The Border Grill is the off the beaten path location in Mandalay Bay. Choice of either indoor or outdoor dining we chose indoor downstairs in a bright fully glass enclosed room - kinda best of all worlds. The food choices (about 20 tapas) were varied and great quality, service was attentive.

Great service and food

By Amy S |

Visiting Vegas for the 3 day weekend. Today we sat at the bar at Border Grill. Stephanie was our bartender/server and she was AMAZING. Best skinny margarita! And the food was so good. I had the spicy shrimp tacos. Yum! And hubby had the carne asada tacos. And if you love chips and salsa….their chips are so good. We will definitely be sitting at the bar with Stephanie next time we go.

Excellent Brunch

By Lawkat97 |

We stayed at Mandalay Bay & finished our visit with Sunday brunch at Border Grill. The restaurant offers unlimited small plates for $39.99 & it is SO worth it!! Every dish is fantastic, beautifully presented and very inventive, with phenomenal flavors. Give yourself plenty of time to try one of everything!

Great Food, Drinks and AMAZING service

By Michael Z |

We've been to BG at MB four times in the last two years. This year was my 50th birthday, and we picked the best place. Our waiter, Ernesto was absolutely amazing- so informational and attentive. I had the lobster roll, my son had steak quesadillas and my wife had short rib enchilada as she is celiac. The drinks were refreshing and delicious. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet fun, and it has become our favorite strip restaurant due to their service and attention to the needs of a celiac guest. Can't wait to be back! And hopefully see Ernesto again!

Best Dinner so Far

By chasmo k |

Inside Mandalay Bay a medium walk from the elevators. What a wonderful experience. The food and staff were excellent. Above and beyond what I expected. Chips, salsas and guacamole were superb. The entrees were top notch flavorful and well plated. Our server totally out did herself. Definitely a positive experience.

Downhill from wonderful host

By R15offreemans |

Hosts were lovely. Best part of the staff! Table filthy chairs as well. Seriously how hard is it to wipe down before seating? Finally seated ordered Steak kale Caesar salad mistake. Served with no steak knife. When trying to cut steak which by the way was not medium rare it was raw, bowl it’s served in topples over. Serve it with a knife, cooked and a different dish. Our waitress never came back to check on us had to flag down hosts to get some help. Place was not busy. Our waitress knew the menu and she was nice but again just didn’t come back. The bar area is nice.

Terrible!

By Paula M |

We made a reservation here for a party of six to celebrate our 26th anniversary, we made that clear in the reservation . It was very obvious no one read the notes because that was never acknowledged. Upon entering the restaurant the smell of someone used the same mop to clean the dining area as to clean the kitchen hits you. The table was dirty the walls were dirty. The food was bad, I mean fast food take out is better. I had a dried out chicken enchilada. I mean really how can you mess up Mexican food. That evening all of us had terrible stomach aches. I would not recommend this restaurant it was a terrible experience.

Terrible service spoilt evening

By blueskymakesmehappy |

We arrived early to get dinner before our baby daughter needed to go to bed. An hour after ordering food it still hadn’t arrived. Our waiter went to find out what was happening and came back to explain that there was a backlog in the kitchen which seemed strange as there were very few people eating as it was still early evening. Another 10 minutes and no food so we asked the restaurant host if we could have our meal boxed up to take out as we couldn’t wait any longer as our baby was getting tired. The waiter then came to the table with complimentary starters and explained he’d forgotten to order our food from the kitchen - so the backlog was a lie. He brought the bill over so we could leave as soon as our food arrived and we were shocked that the bill hadn’t even been discounted. An hour and a half after ordering, we received our food in take out boxes with no apology. Really poor service.

Worth the hype? Hmm, underwhelming

By NextStopVegas |

Maybe my expectations were too high after seeing lots of good reviews. I left fairly underwhelmed by the whole experience. Two of us dined on Cinco De Mayo, which we thought would be fun - but this may have been a mistake as the restaurant was very busy and servers seemed preoccupied with a number of large groups. We felt forgotten - service was slow, we weren't offered water, there was a long wait for tables to be cleared between courses, it all just felt a bit of hard work. However the atmosphere was good and the outdoor veranda seating upstairs has great views across the pool complex. Food was good but not mind-blowing, and entrees are not overly generous in size. When servers did attend to us they were very friendly and happy to help. On a quieter day the experience may have been a lot better. Having had some outstanding Vegas meals, I'd find it hard to recommend Border Grill over many other options at Mandalay Bay and the south end of the Strip.

Excellent

Top end Mexican. Excellent service and good quality food. Table service was exceptional and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend.

Brunch on a whole new level!

By jmalpica7136 |

We decided to try a new brunch spot in Vegas, and this place exceeded all expectations. They have a brunch sampler all you can eat of all their brunch specials. It was outstanding! We spent 2hours of eating and drinking mimosas, while having a great view of Mandalay’ s beach pool! I highly recommend, it’s an experience!

Bottomless mimosas were excellent

By dahlia8 |

We had a party of 15. Some ordered the brunch while others ordered from the menu. My carne asada tacos were delicious. The tapas from the brunch were beautiful! They tasted good as well. Since this was a birthday party the bottomless mimosas were ordered. There are different flavored juices to add to the champagne. Blood orange, prickly pear, orange juice and peach. The prickly pear was the favorite. Our server Vanessa was patient and just awesome.

Enjoyable

By David S |

The location causes this place to be packed as it is the best restaurant that's closest to the Convention Center. I was lucky to get a chair at the bar on my second attempt. The service was friendly and efficient. The enchiladas were excellent and well presented.

Terrible ambiance … rushed service

By Tomenglish1091 |

I called to make sure the kitchen was open and was informed the last seating was at 9:30 … My Family and I arrived at 9:25 (we understand that is cutting it close) however we were told the last seating was at 9:30 and not that the kitchen would close at 9:30 … I double checked as I wanted to be sure we could arrive this late so when we arrived we were told we could only order takeout … we protested and were begrudgingly seated … when the waiter arrived he instructed us that we had “exactly one minute to order” in a less than welcoming manner … we ordered quickly as we had limited options at this point …. Chips and salsa average (presented in strange metal containers) , Cadillac margarita $17 served with no garnish, little ice in basic pint glass (the $6 happy hour margarita at dicks last resort was better in flavor and presentation) and some people got served after us and we weren’t even the last people in the restaurant. And our server was still asking other people for their orders. Don’t recommend coming here and terrible ambience. Save your money. The art work on the walls could be duplicated by a five year old. Shame on Mandalay for even having this restaurant in their hotel.

5 Stars

By Dialer16 |

We had a party of 9, so we sat in the bar area. 8/9 enjoyed their meals and the bartender was very helpful in deciding drinks and meals. It’s a great place for people who like new adventures but not necessarily bland eaters.

Excellent food and service - just go!

By EllieMama2 |

In LV to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday - she picked the restaurant. We're all accomplished home cooks and can be tough critics at restaurants. We started with drinks - delicious. Guacamole was the best I've ever had. Ordered the poblano chicken enchiladas as an appetizer to share. I will be dreaming about this dish for a long time. Simple ingredients, perfectly executed. We seriously wanted to lick the poblano sauce off the dish. Our entrees were equally delicious (duck dish was amazing with a fig mole). Our server was great and the manager stopped by to check on us which was a nice touch. Very good service all around. Would 100% recommend this restaurant. Wish I could find their recipe for the chicken enchiladas - will be trying to replicate that sauce for a long time.

Amazing flavors and staff

By Jason N |

So very very good and Staff were top notch. My wife and I were here on Valentine’s Day 2024. We had renewed our vows that afternoon at the little white chapel and had made reservations here months prior. We love the style of food, saw gluten free options that were obviously marked and we were sold. Grilled skirt steak—- OMG so good Yucatán Pork — so flavorful and delicious Staff seemed like a well oiled machine and due to our attire and my wife’s bouquet were kind enough to give us champagne to celebrate our special day and being recognized did add to our day. Manager was very friendly. Drinks were extremely tasty, well made and presented well.

High Hopes with Bad Experience

By Ric |

We've been here before and started with high hopes (especially because it's in the Mandalay Bay). But after sitting for 13 minutes without being offered drinks or having our orders taken, we had to ask for a manager - who was extremely apologetic and helpful. Throughout the meal, we had trouble getting things refilled and had to rely on bus boys and food runners to get things done. At the end of our meal, the original inattentive server brought us somebody else's bill - which was surprising considering that the restaurant was less than 50% capacity. It's clearly time for this restaurant to review it's staff and possibly make some changes.

Anniversary Dinner

By karatepunk816 |

My wife and I were being seated and the hostess asked what brought us to Border Grill. We told her it was our 40th anniversary. After being seated, Tara introduced herself and congratulated us on our anniversary. She went way above and beyond to make our dinner special. I had the Yucatan Pork, very tender and juicy. I thought it would be spicier than it was but i enjoyed it. My wife had the chicken tacos which she enjoyed. It is not the texmex we are used to but we really enjoyed our visit.

Worth visiting if you can find it

By Angiecerny |

We stumbled across this restaurant while we were exploring our hotel after some drinks at a bar. It’s not easy to find - it’s sort of on the way out past the pool exit towards the convention center. However once you are there, the views are incredible and the food is even better! The prices are high but you would expect that for Vegas, but we appreciated how quiet it was and it was easy to get a table . We are going to check it out on our next trip to Vegas .

The best

By cannonater |

Great mimosas .. long walk to find it but worth it. Great selection for brunch and service is really good.

Decent lunch spot

By Joe K |

I've eaten lunch at the Border Grill many times. It's located waaaay behind the Mandalay Bay and in the conference/convention center section. We were seated downstairs which wasn't the best, but the food has never disappointed.

Saw this restaurant on tv and gave it a try.

By 307scm60 |

We watched The Chef show that interviewed the chef/owners of this restaurant. Everything they made looked so good we had to give it a try. We had the Yucatán pork wrapped in banana leaves, it was soooo good. We had guacamole and chips that was made fresh and chunky. They served 3 sauces all made from scratch with 3 unique delicious flavors. The are in a back of the Mandolay Bay that was hard to find, but worth looking. Folks need to start returning to Vegas!

Don’t hesitate. Try it.

By Elias W |

Excellent small bites brunch, tasty and modern with original Mexican flavors. We will come back. The steak and egg, the shrimp n grit , the ceviche and the fries n egg were super delicious. The pancake were to die for.

Go for Brunch!

By Jill |

I had two meals at Border Grill and I can say, brunch is far superior to dinner! The service was also notably better at brunch. Our server at dinner was terrible. The brunch menu offers a variety of small plates. They were all delicious! Dinner was fine and if I had not experienced brunch, I probably would have been satisfied with the mediocrity of it. But do yourself a favor and go for brunch!

Great Brunch Experience with Friends!

By Aubrey L |

Such a great experience and delicious small plates!!! Highly recommend the all you can eat tapas brunch. We went with another couple and sample nearly everything on the menu. The steak and eggs, tamales, enchiladas, brisket benedict, salmon toast....everything was SO good!! We felt it was a great value. Glad we went!

Best Brunch on The Strip!

By MatthewG69 |

We’ve been coming here for well over a decade now on weekends for the Border Brunch (and should have written this review ages ago!). They feature unlimited breakfast-oriented tapas with the option to add on bottomless mimosas, micheladas, or Bloody Mary’s. Given the price point, this weekend brunch hands-down beats out the other unlimited, buffet-style, Strip places because everything is made to order. You don’t walk past a bunch of silver bins sitting under heat lamps, wondering how long the food has been there. Instead, each scrumptious item is brought, made to order, to your table. Our standbys are the steak & eggs, chilaquiles, horchata French toast, and whatever the “chef’s secret pancakes” are. Oh, and the bottomless mimosas!! :-) There are around a dozen other amazing food options, and the location makes it absolutely stellar to catch the weekend Raider games afterwards. If all that weren’t enough, and the staff are all really good, but I’ve gotta give a special shout out to Ronnie. For the past several years, he’s been one of the biggest reasons that we’ve enjoyed our visits much more so. Ronnie’s been working the bar area each time we’ve visited, and he always takes phenomenal care of us. No matter how chaotic things may eventually get (this brunch is famous for very good reason!!), he always makes the best of it all. He’s got this wonderful, warm, infectious personality, which allows him to seamlessly handle the brunch craziness such that you’re never, ever disappointed or underserved (e.g., suggestions like, you should order a little extra now as the kitchen can get a little backed up as it gets busier). Indeed, it just wouldn’t be a Border Grill, pre-Raiders game (or random Vegas weekend!) brunch without his outstanding service. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ronnie! We sincerely appreciate all that you do and the positive energy that you bring!! And, thank you, Border Grill for continuing to have the best brunch on the Strip!

Best Brunch

By Shawnola |

This is an excellent restaurant. I came for brunch on a Saturday. The price was $45 for all you care to eat small plates. Every plate was flavorful and well presented. The food is outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the steak and eggs, French Toast, Spicy chicken and waffle as well as the pancake of the day. There were multiple Mexican dishes that were very good. Service was prompt and friendly. I also enjoyed the optional all you can drink package that includes mimosas, bloody's and micheladas. I really liked that they give you three juices and pour you a full glass of sparking wine for the mimosas. You decide how much and which juice to add. I recommend getting there early or late if you don't have a reservation because the place does a great business.

Good Place

By Traci |

The chips and salsa varieties were delicious. Fresh and hot! My kids got the carnitas tacos and I got their version of fajitas. I did get one bite of my meal and it was amazing! Meat was tender and flavorful. Unfortunately my daughter didn’t like the pork tacos so we traded plates and I ended up giving her my “fajitas”. Unfortunately I was not a fan of the pork tacos either. They were kind enough to take the tacos off the bill without me even having to ask, and that was much appreciated. All in all I would go back just so I could re-order what I got and actually eat it. If we all weren’t so exhausted from our day and hadn’t already been there a while (it was super busy) I would have ordered a second “fajita” dish and not leave with only a tummy full of chips and salsa hungry and hour later.

Border Grill Mandalay Bay

By TerrasTravels |

Very good! One of the only few places I have seen carry sour cream enchiladas before which is a Tex Mex thing that I can NEVER find in Las Vegas. I don’t think it’s on the menu anymore🙁but they have excellent ceviche and guacamole! Inside the Mandalay Bay!

Weekend Brunch was Amazing!

By Frazier |

I suggest checking out the weekend brunch (only Saturday & Sunday) with unlimited small plates for $43.99. It was amazing! The service was great, too. If possible, I suggest eating outside for great atmosphere by the lazy river.

Host and Hostess left us with a bad taste in our mouth

By currie5 |

With a third of the tables empty at 7:45pm, the host said we had to sit outside on the “heated patio” because all inside tables were reserved. It seemed like it would be ok at first but then there were heavy winds that were blowing everything around. We wore our jackets and hoods while eating quickly so our food wouldn’t go cold. On our way out - all The tables we had seen earlier were still empty. We called this to the attention of the host and he got very defensive and rude. This place is very expensive for just ok Mexican food - so it would probably be best to try one of the many other options out there.

Hostess not organized

By dgpaul777 |

We had reservations today Sept 19th at 12:15pm. We got in the social distancing line at the hostess counter. People kept cutting in up front and the hostess did not address this issue which kept the line growing but not moving. Extremely unorganized. We eat the twice a month. But not anymore. We left and went to Jardin at the Wynn, much better experience.

Nice lunch

By lucycan |

We had lunch here with 4 people. Options to sit inside, at the bar, or outside. Service was nice. Food was quite good. I'd go again.

Saturday Small Plates Brunch

By M. G. H. |

Prior to our trip to LAS, we saw a review of Border Grill on youtube and it was highly recommended by the vlogger. So we decided to make ourselves a reservation and we were not disappointed. The unlimited small plates cost $39.99 per person which is pretty reasonable. Add a little more if you want bottomless mimosas or bloody marys. Out the selections included these would be our favorites: Peruvian Drunken French Toast, Potato Tacos, Chef’s Personal Pancakes, Steak and Eggs, Plantain Empanada and the Peruvian Shrimp and Grits! Besides the delicious and delectable food, service is great! Our server Justin N., was very friendly and awesome! Will be back on our next trip to Vegas.

Great spot for good food

By KazInVan604 |

Low key spot for good food. My wife and I shared several dishes and they were all good. It’s casual, fun, and overall a good value. I’ll be back for sure.

OUTSTANDING AND NOT EXPENSIVE!

By visitor12342014 |

We were with a group of 10 people and treated the VIP way. From the starters, the entrees and desserts, it could not have been better. The most surprising was the bill. This restaurant is for it's quality not expensive and I was pleasantly surprised!! Keep up the good work

Won’t go back

By aks001 |

Food was cold. We were miserable, we were taken to bottom level. Cold air blowing . Seafood enchiladas smelled and tasted fishy.

Fast food Mexican

By Orpheus |

Skip this place. Food was like a drive-thru Mexican place and rather pricey. Drinks were not great either. Small portion of guacamole appetizer which let’s face it, is super disappointing. 😉

Rude and unacceptable hostess. Will not return because of Skylar.

By Cher N |

The food was good but Skylar the hostess ruined our dinning experience. We asked for the open table overlooking the pool on outdoor patio (one table away from the one she wanted to sit us at). She said no it was a different server. I told her I was happy to wait for the table, she said no. The other hostess came in within 30 seconds and sat the table I had asked for. I looked at Skylar and said that was rude and very unfair to a paying customer. She shrugged and walked away. Made my meal rather un enjoyable from the start.

Birthday Party dinner.

By David R |

Birthday Party dinner. Ernesto and crew gave excellent attention. Great suggestions on meals. Portions were more than adequate and pricing was very good, especially compared to other Las Vegas Strip restaurants. Excellent value. We thought we would just have a nice Mexican dinner after a day at the Mandalay Bay Beach but this was so much more. Brisket Barbacoa was phenomenal, carnitas, fish tacos and carne asada quesadilla were equally good. Highly recommend eating here!

Convention business lunch the best

By Robert P N |

Border grill. Mandalay Bay has the greatest food and fast service. Excellent for hosting a convention lunch for clients. Food is consistently good. Highly reccomend

Good dinner with a view

By MCDen14 |

I had several good vegetarian options to choose from, and finally decided on the chile relleno duo. They were so, so good! One was a little more traditional, stuffed with cheese, the other was filled with corn, potatoes, broccolini and pickled onions. I would highly recommend this dish. The service was excellent as well. Make sure you get a table on the patio.

Business or Pleasure, why not both!

By Lifeadventurer13 |

Border Grill at The Mandalay Bay was outstanding! I held a reception here for 50 people - Service was Exceptional! Food quality was fresh, handmade (not frozen appetizers), both tasty and creative! So good we had to go back for dinner another night! Kudos to the ladies behind Border Grill!

The Best drinks and food!

By Ashley G |

They have a delicious tequila shot at this grill. I don't even care for shots but it was a pineapple, and something else infused in the shot. Delicious!!

Light lunch at bar waiting to check in. Decent, nothing too exciting

By sherrycat |

We sat at the bar, waiting to check into our room in Mandalay Bay. Stephanie was the bartender that took care of us. We each had a drink and shared Nachos with chicken(on the side). They were okay, but nothing special. No vibe in the place, at least when we were there but no complaints.

Just bad - pass on this restaurant

By Meggen W |

One of the worst meals I ever had. Guacamole is a mess. Just smeared on a strange plate. Salsas were nearly flavorless. Margaritas pitchers were watered down sugary mess. The blood orange margarita was over powered by tons of jalapeños. Chicken enchiladas were dried out in a green globby sauce. Rolled up tiny flour tortilla- I only ate 1 it was so bad. Service was slow.

Perfect meal to end the stay

By Schmikes19 |

Easy dining, great food, and the football on tv. What more could you want. Prices were reasonable as well.

Great food on the patio

By Catherine Y |

The food was amazing. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful Vegas afternoon. The enchiladas, fish tacos and taquitos were all delicious. Service was wonderful as well.

Excellent Mexican

By Pointy1020 |

I really enjoyed lunch here. We viewed the shark exhibit and decided to stop for lunch on way back. We decided to get the cheese appetizer which is not what you would expect. It is thick, spicy cheese that you cut and place on tortilla - delicious. I had the carne asada tacos and my wife had pork tacos - both very good. The server gave us a free appetizer to try made of a corn with salsa. All in all, I would definitely go back and it was great

Fun Variety at a Good Price

By Here To Cheers |

We did the Border Grill brunch during our stay at W Las Vegas, and overall, it was a fun and tasty experience. For $44.99 per person, you get unlimited small plates for two hours, kind of like brunch tapas. It’s a great way to sample lots of different things. We sat out on the patio, which had plenty of heaters since it was a cool morning. The staff was accommodating with dietary needs, gluten free items were easy to identify, and they swapped in corn tortillas without a problem. Some standouts for us were the Campechana, horchata French toast, and prickly pear chai parfait. The Diablo chicken brought the heat, and the churro waffle helped cool it down. A few dishes were drier than expected (like the steak and egg or the breakfast taco), and nothing came out super hot, but that’s kind of expected with pre-prepped brunch plates. If you’re staying at Mandalay Bay or the W and want a brunch that’s flavorful, flexible, and good for sharing, this one’s worth checking out. Just go in knowing it’s more about variety and convenience than made-to-order perfection.

Delicious

By EPF15 |

My colleagues and I had a great meal after a full day in the conference area. Stacy provided great service and the food was delicious.

Unwelcoming entrance

By nohemi b |

Went to visit on 8-12 with my husband and son. The hostess was very unwelcoming she made me feel like I didn’t belong there. Then we asked how we could be seated outside because of my weak immune system and I don’t feel comfortable sharing that information she said only with reservations. So we placed a reservation she said only available was 9:30 it was 7:50 at that moment. Didn’t question the hour because I noticed large parties inside. When we arrived at 9:25 for our reservation she was whispering to the second hostess just seat them there they don’t have a choice and we don’t want to set a table up. Once we walked around to my fear they sat us inside. I asked why they said because there was no table set up. This hostess said it very snarky. It was late and hungry and chose to just stay there. Food flavor was great but the service was terrible.

Ignore my review at your peril

By BendixEvE68 |

Forget what the blurb says, this restaurant is awful. The guacamole was flavourless and processed to death, clearly made in bulk at some soulless factory. Our tacos were dry, pathetic, cubes of meat slapped on a some industrially made piece of corn. Calling this Mexican is an insult to the glorious cuisine. I’ve rarely had a bad meal in the USA, but this is the standout one.

Buzzkill restaurant

By Cathleen H |

I was hoping for a special brunch upon arrival in Vegas. This was not the case. This restaurant has the quality of a chain restaurant with 0 atmosphere. The drinks are no fuss and not festive or fun. The vibe is all about turning a profit. Really was a buzzkill for the beginning of a much anticipated trip to Vegas.

Brunch well worth the money

By Terry K |

My better half and I tried the Border Grill for Sunday brunch and we’re not disappointed. The service was excellent kind and friendly. The brunch is almost a tapas style. You can see by the other photos the presentation is spot on and the taste is even better. Yes and why not we had bottomless mimosas polished off two bottles of champagne it was brilliant.

Not for us

By mommy3ny3 |

Had potential - but 3 of the 6 of us didn’t like our food. Took one bite each and the waitress didn’t even question it. Chips and guacamole were good though. Also waited 10 mins when we had a reservation and there were open tables.

Delicious with great service

By Sandy K |

Stopped in after a visit to the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay. Best lunch we had in Las Vegas. It started with our server, Candice A (#463). She was excellent! She steered us in the right direction for our food, very polite, checked on us frequently but not overbearing. The food is fantastic. It’s fresh, seasoned perfectly and comes out hot. Good portion size also. Steak taco, fish taco (with the radishes on top) guacamole and their complementary chips and trio of salsa.

Disappointed

By Nasib K |

Food wasn’t good, honestly it was mediocre. I expected better food from them, but me and my wife were totally disappointed.

Never a disappointing meal

By Gary H |

Second visit to Border Grill and has become a must stop when we are in town visiting. Great service, great atmosphere, and amazing food. Can't go wrong with Yucatan Pork and Seafood Molcajete has become one of my favorite dishes. Restaurant was really good about dietary restrictions as a couple of people in our group weren't able to eat specific things

Overrated

By mauiwolf |

Both my wife and I had the same thought while eating our meal. It was overrated. We could have had a better meal for half the price at any number of Mexican restaurants around town. Two enchiladas and nothing else for $32. Please. That’s ridiculous. There was nothing special about them. A tiny skirt steak with not much flavor and only some little greens as an accompaniment for $32. Good grief. A Tres Leches cake that was three bites. Come on. Very disappointing.

Drinks and Nachos

By Hitcher84 |

Sat at the bar and ordered some cocktails and Nachos. Craft cocktails were great and so were the nachos. Nachos on the wet side.

Our favorite breakfast spot in Mandalay bay

By cannonater |

A must stop for small plate breakfast with views and bottomless mimosas. A little hike but well worth every step that you need to walk off.

Tasty food. Nice ambience.

By Blas E |

The salas were excellent. We had carnitas tacos, tortilla soup and ceviche. Everything was delicious. Excellent customer service. Prices are reasonable for a casino restaurant on strip. I recommend this place at the Mandalay Bay.

Border Brunch - Oh heck ya!

By Schnitzel_Konig |

We've been wanting to try the Border Grill $49 unlimited small plate weekend Border Brunch for some time but due to scheduling have never had the opportunity until last month. It was so worth waiting for! We methodically worked out way through the menu each ordering 3 dishes at a time until we went through the entire rotation, and then just barely had enough room left to order a couple more of our fav's to top the afternoon off. Standout dishes for us included the deviled eggs, salmon avocado toast, diablo chicken and waffle, skirt steak and eggs...I could keep going on. Easily the only two dishes we didn't care for was the conchas and jam (just ok - carbs taking up valuable stomach space) and the chia parfait (poorly prepared). Everything else was fabulous but by the end we did just start ordering things without the accompanying eggs as we'd had enough (ie. second helping of skirt steak). We each added in the $28 bottomless beverage package because...well....Vegas! and easily got our value out of it. A nice touch if ordering the bottomless mimosas is the provided orange, guava, and cranberry juices to accompany the bubbles, which, btw, is provided in your own tableside bottle. We'll most certainly be back with friends in tow next time around!

Good food, poor service

By Brenda F |

We enjoyed our food and cocktails, but the whole experience was tainted by very poor service. We had to wait much too long even to be greeted by our waiter and never one were we checked on to see if we needed anything after receiving our food. There are so many restaurants in Vegas, I would give this one a miss in the future.

Amazing brunch!!

By kate |

The weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas is amazing! They bring you as many small plates as you want and are happy to customize for vegetarian. The mimosas comes out as a bottle of Prosecco with four different juices— orange, blood orange, peach and prickly pear and you can mix as much as you want. Good service too!

Good find!

By injoy2911 |

We went for lunch. I had the cauli tacos (vegan and gluten free), and they were so good! It was a colorful and lovely presentation! The chips and salsa verde were some of the best I’ve ever had. Service was very good!

Bottomless brunch

By Emilysdad7 |

Had the bottomless brunch with bottomless Prosecco, food came in 3 plates at a time and was fantastic with a wide selection of dishes. The Prosecco was fine with 3 fruit juices to flavour it and came by the bottle so you weren’t waiting to be topped up ( we had 3 bottles).service was great and even slightly expensive it was worth it

great experience

we were the last people seated for the night. the hostess at the front made sure that a table would be ready for us. she was great. we got outside and rolando was prompt and very friendly as a server. we only got a guac and 1 plate of tacos (3). and he still treated us like kings. the carne or steak tacos were great, the guac was great and the service was great

Amazing Mexican food

By Caroline C |

Amazing Mexican food, all hand made and freshly prepared - would highly recommend the taster platter - 32 dollars and more than enough food for 2. Great service. Chardonnay and modelo especial perfect with the food. Very popular hidden gem in the Mandalay bay.

Good quick lunch

By Scottraveller2018 |

Excellent lunch menu and great seating outside Fast service Prawn tacos were great! As was the cerviche

Good food

By Michelle P |

The place was crowded. We were 15 minutes early for our reservations but were still seated within a couple minutes. Besides the tables being a little crowded together, the ambiance was very nice. The Vampiro Shrimp and Seafood Molcajete were delicious! Service was okay - nice but only checked on us a few times even though he passed by our table a lot more than that. Would have been nice if they gave us some chips and salsa as a freebie.

The best food we had in Vegas!

By Nyormirror |

This was the best food we had in Las Vegas. The free appetizer was fresh chips with 3 types of unique and tasty salsas. We also had the queso fundido with carnitas that was excellent. Our entrees were the chicken poblano enchiladas and carne asada quesadillas. The enchiladas were a small plate but were wonderful. The quesadillas were a large portion. The service was outstanding and we enjoyed the whole experience. Indoor/outdoor seating with booths and low top tables. Full bar. Cloth napkins that are shined by wait staff. Secretly located in South Mandela Bay near the the shark reef. Reservations recommended. I will definitely return.

Service great, food terrible

By Toby K |

The staff was 5 star. We were seated outside very close to other tables. The Tamarindo Quesadilla may have been the worst quesadilla I've ever had. The Smoked Prime Rib tacos were small and tasted like liquid smoke. Caviar prices for dog food. I would not go back to this place.

We were going to eat at the Mandalay Bay Food Court but did not want to walk more than we needed to. Border Grill just happened to be on the edge of our walking limit. No reservations but we were seated right away on a high top table close to the bar. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out quick too. I had the Border Ceviche. Very good with some “kick”. Wife had the quesadillas and it was enough for two. Very generous portions. Outstanding.

Highly recommend this delicious restaurant.

By Amy F |

This restaurant is delicious. We went with a group of 7 people for a 50th bday and had a stellar meal. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the housemade tequila was perfection. We all ordered different things and they were all great. Can't say enough good things about this experience.

Food

By Adventure777163 |

Very disappointed with there food. It looked Like they gave us an order that was sitting there. It was not that hot and the tortillas were hard because they were cold. We just got in the restaurant and we ordered and the food came like within 5 minutes and other people who had ordered way before us were still waiting . It felt like we were giving leftovers. Won’t go there again

Best food in Mandalay Bay resort

By Grant C |

Stayed in the hotel for a week. Tried most of the restaurants and this was easily the best. Friendly staff. Great choice on the menu and I love that they can make some dishes vegan. Cauliflower tacos - yes! Turkey salad - oh yes. Well done you guys. Awesome!

menu reads better than what arrives...

By ted m |

Interesting, non-standard menu that fails to deliver the zing and brightness characteristic of the best Mexican food. Expected better, especially at this price point.

Amazing experience

By Alex T |

I had a branch in Border Grill with few pints of local beer. Absolutely amazing experience with really tasty food and great service. I would recommend to visit this place :)

Very Good, We'll Be Back!

By hmortenson |

My husband and I went to Border Grill for an early lunch on Saturday. The restaurant offers an unlimited small plates brunch on the weekends, but we opted to order from the lunch menu this time. The chicken poblano enchiladas were exceptionally good. I highly recommend them. The carnitas also tasted good, but they were more like a pulled pork taco than carnitas. They were missing the porky-crispness on the outside of the meat to contrast with the tender pork inside the little pieces of meat that we so enjoy with carnitas. Having said that, we definitely enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was attractive and humming with people enjoying their Saturday brunch. The service was beyond excellent, and we will definitely be back to try the small plate brunch offerings.

AVOID THIS PLACE

By Andy |

Avoid this place. Bad bad Mexican food and even worse service. Slow, plates not cleared, drinks not refilled. The most flavourless food we have ever eaten. It wasn’t even that busy so not sure why the service was so slow.

Yum

By MichiganCozumelfan |

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! So fresh. Guacamole was amazing. Really fresh and delicious. They made enchiladas to order at my husband’s request and we were super happy with this experience.

Very nice lunch

By Hoax_ok |

My wife and I had an excellent lunch here. They offer a unique variety of dishes and both inside and outside dining options. The resorts pools lazy river is adjacent to outside dining.

Great Service and Atmosphere

By Nick K |

We went to Border Grill during a work event. The staff and kitchen easily could have been overwhelmed but they were on top of everything. The chicken entree was really good, and the burnt ends burrito was amazing!

Nice food but disappointed that the serving staff were so aggressive about tipping

By John B |

The meal was wonderful, we had a 10am booking and were seated quite promptly and our orders were taken, the staff were super friendly and helpful explaining the menu, we had the unlimited brunch and ordered 3 items each, some of the order was cold when it came as if it had been batch cooked and put together and left on the side for a while but it was very tasty, overall it was great. However when the bill came we decided to pay the tip by cash and the bill on credit card and thought a 16 % tip was about right. The server came back to us with the bill with their suggested tip circled and aggressively asked us what we wanted to do about that, we were perplexed and asked her what she meant and she aggressively said that we should add more tip to our credit card total, we said we had paid paid the tip by cash and she again said it was “customary to add more” this really spoilt our visit, I have been bringing friends and customers here for years but doubt I want to go through that embarrassing situation there again.

Delicious & Friendly Staff

By Bernice |

Great ambiance! Open air seating at Mandalay Bay. Delicious complimentary corn chips with a trio of salsas. We enjoyed the turkey tostada!

Absolutely the worst experience for service I’ve ever had in 25 years of business travel.

By Mary S |

We had an employee meeting for six and after ordering the waiter told us they couldn’t split bills. We were very understanding but as we gave him directions on how to split he became angry and told us to not make it too complex because due to the busyness we would get what we got. Mind you they were at 20% capacity. I understand the staffing and challenges but he was more concerned with how we were making his job too difficult. Just odd and I wouldn’t recommend!

Delicious!

By Todd A |

Best food we have had so far in Vegas. Must try the street corn! Great service. Don’t skip the desserts!

Mandalay Bay conference center Mexican!

By Erin B |

My coworkers and I ate here for lunch during a conference at the Mandalay Bay. The line was very long to get people seated, but we got a table after about 45 min. Water is .50$ per person as they have a special filtration system. The chips and salsas they brought out to start were excellent. We are all vegan so choices on the menu were limited. We ate the cauliflower tacos which were pretty good. Restaurant decor/atmosphere was average, but outside looked nice.

Wonderful fresh food

By Carrie C |

Our group met at the outside bar for drinks and a small snack. Everything we ordered was delicious so we ended up staying and ate here again the next day. Loved the guacamole, salsa and chips, shrimp tacos, carne asada quesadilla and chicken poblano enchiladas.

Great Brunch

By @realjohnf |

Took a group of 10 to Border Brunch as part of a birthday celebration in Vegas. It was our first time at Border Grill, and everyone had a great time. We went on Saturday morning - there was a volleyball tournament at Mandalay, and the entire place was PACKED. Fortunately, we had made a brunch reservation and just had to wait a couple minutes for them to put some tables together. Our waitress (I believe, Andrea was her name) was great. She was working her butt off serving, as she had a pretty big section. We all got the bottomless brunch and drinks... Service was a little slow at the start (getting waters, taking orders, etc..) but once the first bit of food came, it was like a water fall from there! Andrea brought larger portions and served family style, which worked out great. There were zero complaints from our group about the experience. Bottomless mimosas - they bring you bottles of champagne with a variety of juices for you to mix yourself. Totally worth it. We'd all go back to Border Brunch!

Dinner

Four of us had dinner here on Friday last week. Food was ok (burritos), but it was not hot enough at all, service was also kind of “meh”. We wouldn’t return

Small Plates Weekend Brunch

By 1961GaryC |

We had a Saturday stop at Border Grill for the all you can eat Small Plates Weekend Brunch and had a great time. With 16 items on the menu we had plenty of choice so researched in advance to see what we'd like most. Reality turned out slightly different to what we thought we'd have. I loved the Birria Hash, Barbacoa Benedict and Chia Parfait. The Skirt Steak was good but lacked the wow factor I hoped for. I was too full to have Horchata French Toast unfortunately. The place was mad busy and there was a mix up in our order where the right items arrived but a quantity to serve 4 rather than two. I won't blame the staff or our main server Ben who was so busy but kept a positive attitude and outlook, a great team member and a credit to the place. The downside was that after 4 Breakfast Enchiladas I couldn't face French Toast. I still think this was our best value meal in the whole trip despite feeling too full for an hour after we left. Would go back in a heartbeat, a great concept to sample various Mexican based dishes.

We went to the buffet at the

By salomon v |

We went to the buffet at the Winn for dinner at 18:00 hrs and the line was huge, so we decided to drive to the mandalay bay and dine at its buffet. We were surprised and frustrated to then find the buffet at he Mandalay bay hotel closed for dinner, it used to be packed and so did some of the hotel’s restaurants which now are permanently closed. Before leaving we saw a sign for a Mexican restaurant, the border grill and the menu at the door looked interesting and reasonable priced. We have lived in Canada for the last 15 years but we both were born in Mexico, so we are knowledgeable no Mexican cuisine and we both found this restaurant exquisite, the food was delicious, presentation was excellent, service was excellent excellent too and the whole experience was marvellous, so at the end we were gap we did not dine at a buffet. The guacamole, enchiladas and Yucatán public pork were delicious. If you like Mexican food I can assure you you will not be disappointed and it’s worth the trip to the Mandalay bay hotel.

Cochinita Pibil

By Benjamin S |

The server brought out chips and salsa (3 different kinds). My favorite was definitely the chipotle - so smoky and full-flavored. We ordered the queso fundido which was good, literally melted cheese. It was not cheese sauce. My wife ordered the Caesar Shrimp Kale salad which she loved and I ordered what on the menu is called "Yucatan Pork" but it is really Cochinita Pibil. Prepared authentically and deliciously all the way up to the banana leaves. Melted into my mouth. So good. I would highly recommend it.

Great Food and Service

By Ric |

The food was excellent and many of the dishes were quite unique. Don't come here if you're expecting Taco Bell, but make sure you stop by if you'd like a delicious Mexican meal. The staff was great and very attentive. The option to sit outside was very nice too.

A truly mediocre, overpriced restaurant...

By Paul H |

Ordered the "smoked prime rib" tacos, but the little cubed pieces of "meat" where mostly dried out, flavorless and inedible, so bad that I couldn't make it through even half of one taco and sent the whole thing back. Waitress was nice enough about it and so I ordered the al pastor tacos instead - just as bad! Tough little cubes of tasteless meat, on cold, little three-inch red tortillas, at $27.00, and just as inedible. The tortilla soup was no better. Tortilla soup is supposed to be a savory, spicy, flavorful broth, with tender chicken and crisp tortillas. This was a mostly flavorless, viscous chowder, that turned into a mostly flavorless, viscous gruel when the tortillas disintegrated into the "soup". Neither person who ordered this finished theirs. Another $18 wasted. And the Vampiro Shrimp tacos? Also cold, lifeless, and deemed inedible by the pour soul who ordered them. Another $28 wasted. All things considered, only two items we ordered got a thumbs up. the Chicken Poblano Enchiladas, $29, and the Argentinian Empanadas, $15. So if you do the math, that's $117 for one entry and one appetizer that were actually pretty good, and two entrees and two appetizers that were inedible. I suppose that 0.33 average is good if you are playing baseball, but hardly good for a supposedly world-class chefs and their restaurant. To be frank, my German grandmother makes better Latin food than this place. DAYOR.

Fantastic Meal and service !!!

By beadore |

The meal was fantastic The they should bottle and sell their salsa!! Flavin our waiter was superb!! Thank you for a great meal, great service and not gouging prices like the other Restaurants!! We will come back when we visit Las Vegas !!

Delicious plant-based options!

By Yosh S |

Was looking for Mexican because I know there are usually quite a few plant-based options. I was surprised to find that a significant percentage of their menu items were either vegan or could be easily made vegan. I could NOT believe how delicious everything was! The cauliflower quinoa dish was excellent, as was the Peruvian potatoes and the black beans and rice side dishes. Instead of an option I chose four sides and ordered tortillas to make my one tacos!! The salsas were delicious too! Huge portions, thoughtfully made! I’ll be back

for Sunday brunch small plate this place is hard to beat.

By cannonater |

A little jaunt down the hallway but well worth it. This is our go too place when staying at Mandalay bay for brunch and football Our server Ronnie was nothing short of amazing. He and his team were there to impress and that they did. For a small plate breakfast experience you need to try this place.

Customer Service - Josh O

By Taylor N |

My boyfriend and I have travelled to Vegas for the first time and went to the border grill for lunch. Our server was Josh O and he was absolutely wonderful! He was quick, efficient, and extremely personable and friendly. He made sure we had what we needed and that it was up to par.

Amazing Ceviche.

By Tom P |

Some of the most amazing Ceviche. Our expectations were blown away! What a terrific restaurant with outstanding execution.

Great flavors, outdoor seating

By fast72 |

Came here for the small plates brunch. Delicious Mexican themed flavors. The mole sauce on the empeñada was amazing, as well as the ceviche tostada. The blanco margaritas were refreshing. Justin was an excellent server and it was enjoyable to sit outside and get some sun.

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!

By TomC0310 |

Our experience at Border Grill was absolutely perfect. The restaurant was very busy, however we were looked after straight away and certainly not forgotten about. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Food was simply unbelievable. Enchiladas were so nice and so tasty, side of the black beans were also perfect. I would love to return to this restaurant!

Delicious food in a social environment

By Finalsan |

We got dinner here one night. We sat on the balcony and the temperature was so pleasant that I didn't even realize were were outside. They do a good job of keeping it warm and comfortable as it was super windy and chilly that night. Our server was super nice and attentive. He took great care of us. I ordered the chicken enchiladas without mushrooms. They were some of the best chicken enchiladas I've ever had although they looked super different than anything else with a green sauce and skinny enchiladas. They give generous portions so I had more than enough and still had one enchilada left. I also ordered a strawberry margarita. They don't have blended margaritas so the one I had was extremely strong and I only took a few sips of it as it was overpowering. My two biggest complaints are the noise level and cost. We were seated next to a very large, noisy, and rowdy group and another smaller and equally loud group so it was hard for us to communicate with the people in our own party. Both of these groups stayed almost the entire time that we were there so we had to do a lot of shouting to hear each other. This restaurant is very expensive for what it is. It seems overpriced as are most of the dining facilities within the casinos, but we accepted it as it's part of the convenience of eating on-site.

Delicious

By gwen k |

Being from Texas, sometimes Mexican food is very different than I am used to. This place had delicious food and great wait staff. Reasonable prices. Had the fajitas and the others in our party had quesadillas. All very good!

Dissapointed

By Amanda S |

Let me start off by saying that I did not even get to dine here. This review is not regarding the food or quality of the food. Showed up for my reservation on Sunday 1/23/22 a bit early and encountered the 3 RUDE hosts at the front door. There were plenty of empty tables, and a few of them sat with dirty plates for the entire 20 minutes that we were waiting to be seated. A sure sign that the only person I saw serving guests was the only server working that shift. Extremely hard to find the restaurant, Mandalay Bay had no staff anywhere for us to ask. We ended up having to use Google Maps on our phone from within the hotel. Sad because we were really looking forward to eating here! But all signs pointed us elsewhere. We left and went elsewhere for a better experience.

Just ok

By Dan M |

Grabbed a table with a work associate for lunch. Place was swamped so we were fortunate to get seated. Chips and salsa were the high point of the meal. Chips were a little greasy but the three salsa had some good flavor, especially the smoked salsa. Grilled fish tacos were just ok. They looked amazing but were somehow bland. The beans and rice seemed like they had been sitting around awhile, they had a hard crust on both.

Over hyped?

By Phil Hertel |

We came here on the back of recommendations by Vegas food bloggers. It’s a large, multi-floored location at the edge of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Conference complex, and not particularly well-signposted, so you need to know where to look to find this place. We had the Mexican brunch fixed price menu, which contains around 16 items - small plates, but you can reorder as often as your appetite will allow. There’s certainly a lot of promise with this menu, but the delivery on the day was somewhat disappointing. The steak in the Steak & Egg was like rubber, and could only be swallowed whole. The Chilaquiles were rather soggy and a little bland. Pancakes were pretty standard, with an overpoweringly sweet blueberry sauce. Generally, the dishes were rather lukewarm, seeming to have been pre-prepared some time before delivery to the table. On the positive side, I enjoyed the Short Rib Hash & Egg (tender meat and nice flavors) and the Churro Tots - but this doesn’t represent a very high hit-rate, sadly. Whilst the food quality was very disappointing, it’s fair to say that the service was bright and cheerful.

Unlimited brunch

By Inspire780695 |

Have the most amazing Brunch with my sister and husband unlimited plates and mimosas, every single plate was exquisite, and an absolute flavour burst, you will not leave hungry. You have to try it to experience it!! Amazing, cannot wait to come back, our waitress was amazing also... sorry didn't get her name lady with glasses, attentive and aware what was needed at all times!! Thankyou for making our experience a good one x

Tasty!

By Ellen |

The food was phenomenal and super quick so if you are in a rush it's a good place to stop by. This is very close the the aquarium.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Eating here is a must!

By Michelle |

My husband and I wanted to stay close and get a quick dinner. We chose Border Grill and my goodness!!!!! This food is amazing! When it states authentic Latin cuisine they are definitely on point! I had the Pork Yucatán and it was scrumptious. I never used my knife to cut it because it was so tender!!!! The blend of picked onions and guac was amazing! Plantains, yellow rice and black beans with all the Latin seasons made my taste buds happy! My husband had the seafood and the spice and seasonings was out of this world! The serving is so large we couldn’t finish it all!!!!!! Not only was the food outstanding but the service and friendliness of all the waiters was a breath of fresh air!!!!! It’s been a while since people enjoy serving and here… it shows! You need to come here! You’ll love it!

Excellent Food

By Tony B |

We help an event here in February. The food was fantastic, the staff was great, and it was an easy in and out for our attendees. They are not flexible at all in working with you, but the end result is good.

We were here for a drink and chips and salsa.

By 97Rick97 |

Located at the far end of Mandalay Bay, by the convention center. We did not have a meal, but did enjoy the chips and a drink. The server was outstanding. We sat outside and enjoyed a view of the pool area.

Boarder Grill at Mandalay Bay

By richardgA474JY |

Had an excellent early dinner at the Boarder Grill in Mandalay Bay. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available— we sat outside and had a nice view of one of the pool areas. Quick, friendly service, good food and reasonably priced. Our “go to” Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas was Hecht en Vegas at the MGM Grand which is now sadly closed. The Boarder Grill turned out to be a good replacement.

Not your average Mexican food, very unique.

By winetraveler732016 |

Everything we ordered was awesome. The mini Chile rellanos were very unique, not fried, nice spice. Oaxacan short ribs were among the best short ribs I ever ate. Very meaty, super tasty Demi glaze sauce. Ordered Brussels sprouts which I love and they had peppers with them that really added to the dish. With mesa grill closed, this will be our New Mexican go to place in Vegas.

Great find on the Vegas strip.

By Randy C |

My wife and I were staying at the Madaly Bay Hotel and casino and didn’t feel like leaving the hotel so we looked for a medium priced restaurant in the hotel with lots of tasty option.the border grill menu for our needs. I had thr seafood enchiladas and my wife had the vampero shrimp tacos . We got a single serving of rice and beans to share a started with the chis and three sauca and guacamole . , which was all awesome. The service was excellent

Good food but too much construction noice next door.

By Sue C. |

My husband and I dined here for lunch on the outside patio. They were quite crowded due to lots of conventions.. The problem was there was construction next-door so it was extremely noisy. The white staff were quite attentive and the food was very good. We had a coconut shrimp appetizer. I tried the sangria flight which was outstanding and my husband had a Paloma. For our entrées my husband had a turkey tostada and I had the fish tacos both were very good. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert. This is a great place to go for an awesome meal.

The food was amaaaazing!!!!

By Food Lover |

The food was amaaaazing!!!! The BEST mexican food I’ve had in a while!!!! We did the unlimited small plates and it was definitely worth it!

Awesome tacos!

By ClausP |

My second visit to Border Grill was just as good as my first one 2 years back. Excellent Taco al pastore and their guacamole is excellent! Will be back next time I am in Vegas..

Stick with Tacos

By Patrick S |

We went on a Monday night, and the A-Team was not in the kitchen. I ordered seafood enchiladas — tasted like fish sticks, unappetizing and did not finish. My partner had lthe JAMON SERRANO POLLO RELLENO which was dry and came with a side of burnt cabbage . Disappointed Positives - Our waiter was fantastic, the margaritas delicious. Don’t bother for Dinner-/- too many other great choices in Vegas.

The real surprise!

By 555555478 |

We came to dinner without any expectations but …. What a great surprise!! The tomato soup with sea food and avocado on top is amazing! So unique. And the enchilada with sea food is 5 star ⭐️ The barmen is friendly and the price is more than honest. Don’t miss this restaurant.

Good food, friendly crowd

By 65oski |

Friday evening reservation at 6:00. Place closes at 7:00 due to COVID restrictions. Not many people there as 25% capacity limit in place, but those who were there were in a good mood. Had the guacomole starter with generou serving of guac chips, and three tangy sauces. The dark, smoky one was the best. Wife had the fish tacos, I had carne asad quesadilla. Both were very good, plenty of food and, of course, more guacamole. Dessert was churros with a small serving of ice cream and some fruit. Complementary since it was her birthday. Rolando was our server, took very good care of us.

Very good bottomless brunch option

By MartynGTravels |

This was a very good option for weekend brunch. It's a lot further from the casino floor than we originally anticipated and is pretty much in the convention center (you need to go down to that area to use the restroom). Staff were friendly and service was straightforward, small plates delivered promptly and new orders taken almost immediately so you can 'get your money's worth from the 2 hours'. Both savoury and sweet options had some slightly experimental options but they were all interesting and tasty - we were full for the rest of the day. Bottomless mimosas, they just bring the whole bottle - no messing around here.

Excellent Venue for Events

By Brett B |

Second time hosting an event at the Border Grill and second time I've been incredibly happy with the quality of their service and food. Felvin (I might have written the name down wrong), Roxie, and Mike were spectacular and our group couldn't have been happier. I just wish they could ship those steak skewers...

Great outdoor seating, over spiced and lackluster Mexican fare

By JBG |

Had a great outdoor seat overlooking the pool at the Mandalay Bay. Service was excellent. Shrimp Vampire Tacos were over spiced (my wife had them and can handle heavy spice but this was too much). Had the Duck myself and was underwhelmed by the mole. Not worth the price.

Always top notch

By Michael D |

One of my GO TO places in Vegas for years. Consistently excellent. Great food. Great service. I had the smoked fish tacos and Watermelon Margarita Super tasty! Going back again before leaving this trip for the Molcjetes Pot Fish dish which is outstanding every time.

Lovely Food

Knowing what the customer wants

By Jimmy E |

While visiting Mandalay Bay Casino October 7 at 20:07 we wanted a good place to eat that didn't cost a arm and leg. Border Grill was that place. I'm sure you can order more expensive meal, the waiter Matthew G. was polite and recommended the Yucatan Pork. It was delicious and open our task buds up. One of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. We split the meal and it was plenty for two people. The atmosphere was great and the associates made us feel welcome. Please thank the Chef for tasty meal.

Disappointing service

By Flyer566758 |

Stopped by the beautiful outdoor bar for a drink. Sat there for a few minutes and a few bartenders floated in and out without ever speaking to us. We are patient and polite so okay thought we’d give them time. After 10 minutes I asked my husband to ask inside if they were serving out there. After talking to 3 people, he found out that they don’t start until 4 but no one there was telling us. There were other people sitting and waiting too so we had to tell them it would be another 30 minutes. Ridiculous. They saw us there and definitely should have told us about the timing. We will never go back.

Always a favorite!

By heathercV8813KP |

Get the Queso Fundido! It's truly the best queso that you'll ever have! The tacos are also wonderful! The service has always been spot on, and I've never had any complaints. They do charge $.50 for water, but you should be fine with that. Last I had heard it was filtered.

A fantastic find!

By Justin M |

We stopped in for lunch before hitting the pool, and this restaurant was a true shining star! After a terrible start to the day (without a gambling loss) we stopped by for lunch on the way to the pool. We were quickly seated outside in the shade and had a 15 minute wait to see a waitress. When she stopped by, she tried to redirect us to the hostess stand. After explaining that the hostess sat us in this spot, she quickly went to find out. We were prepared for an argument, but when she came back she was apologizing profusely- and offered a free appetizer for thr wait. Drinks were flowing quickly, our food came out fresh and hot, and her service was impeccable. The food was just as fantastic as the service, and we can't wait to go back and try something else!

You Can Do Better: Keep Looking My Friends

By MrGaucho1987 |

Border Grill offers unconventional takes on Mexican favorites. So naturally, it's expensive Mexican, even by Vegas standards. We tried the smoked prime rib tacos and chicken polano enchiladas. Neither were particularly good or in any way memorable. The service was fine. The restaurant is loud and busy. Don't waste your time.

Great food and service!!

By MpHackmann |

First time trying out Border Grill and was a little skeptical at first because it seemed so packed and loud but our server Brandi was very sweet, helpful and just amazing!! Made our experience that much better. Regardless of the poor thing being ran around by her other tables she still took the time to recommend some favorites and explain some of the menu items we had questions about without rushing us. My wife was just raving about how impressed she was with her with how packed the restaurant was. Overall the whole staff was attentive and did an amazing job. Food and drinks she recommend were delicious and will be back to try lunch and for dinner again! Great Job Border Grill and keep up the amazing service!!

Amazing

By C l |

Tried this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. We stared with their salsa trio and fresh guac. So delicious. My husband enjoyed the smoky salsa the best but all three were tasty. I had the shrimp ceviche tostada O. M. G. amazing!! So good we finished with the churro ice cream sandwich. It was the best part of this stay in Vegas. I can’t wait to go again. Staff was so nice and friendly. Very attentive.

Disappointed

By Outsidein |

Firstly - ordered a "Cadillac" margarita and had it brought to the table in a tall water glass with no garnish - just a straw and ice. Really? This is the best you can do for $17 US . .... It tasted & looked like limeade. The food items were better but overpriced. Maybe it's worth 3 stars based on location and decent service......... Very light lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids under 12 quickly amounted to $200.

So-so

By THN_DK |

Food was OKish - nothing spectatular - and considering that we ended up around 250 usd for 2 people, having in total 3 drinks, 2 snacks, a shared starter and 2 entres the food was underhwelming. Also: from the start where we asked if we could sit outside but was told “your reservation did not specify that” it was kind of “meeh” service. (visiting from outside the country we did not know there was outdoor seating so therefor we did not request it - but we saw it when we arrived and asked politely) so overall: not really recommended.

Great place for bottomless Mimosas

By dahlia8 |

We celebrated my birthday here. We had brunch and bottomless mimosas. There were several different juices, not just orange juice. Service was great even with 20 people in my party. Food was good as well. I ordered off the menu but those who ordered the brunch didn’t have the typical fill your plate brunch, plates were ordered and brought to you. A great place for a large group

Don't bother

Average food and terrible service. Waiter with no clue about the food they serve. Better choices nearby.

BEST in Vegas!

By Rach-Jill |

Excellent restaurant, fabulous service, fantastic food! I come here every time I am in Vegas. Well worth the money! Definitely tell your friends about it. Its a little bit of a walk from entrances of Mandalay Bay but so worth it!

Love love love!

Mexican food is my favorite… And Border Grille does not disappoint! We have been coming here many years in a row for conferences and each time I look forward to my several visits to Border Grille. Great margaritas, incredible service and the food is always stellar with incredible flavors!

Delicious Mexican food

Really good chips and salsa. Shrimp and beef quesadillas were the best I've had. It was a very windy night and the doors from the patio kept blowing open. Hostess really wanted us to sit out there but luckily they found indoor seating for us. Staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Nice atmosphere

Solid Dinner

By Erica D |

We were staying at the hotel and didn't want to leave after our travel day. I was delighted by the vegetarian options and the chips/salsa trio is fantastic. Our mains were also solid (veggie quesadilla and my husband had a chicken dish). This restaurant is a surprisingly quiet respite from the craziness of the rest of MB. We'll be back.

Great choices!

Nice gem of high quality in Mandalay Bay hotel. Lots of great choices, diverse menu but not excessive. Great presentation. Poblano chicken enchiladas excellent

Avoid breakfast small plate brunch. Order lunch instead.

By Yup8687 |

We did the breakfast brunch. It’s small plate where you order a batch. The portions are very small (as they should be) so order more than 3. The issue was every item I had was cold. Barbacoa was nearly all fat. And it took 20 - 40 minutes in between. Had to wait 10 minutes for server to ask for second order and 20-30 minutes for food to come out. Like they were trying to minimize how much you get? That said, someone else in our party ordered from the lunch menu and said it was great. And warm. Bottom line order from lunch menu! Logistics of small plate menu does not work. Note they did give one meal free after we complained re cold food.

Great customer service!

By NewfieGirl13 |

First off - the customer service was awesome. I’d noted in my reservation that it was a birthday dinner and they went out of their way to identify who had the birthday, and brought my brother a celebratory champagne to start and a dessert to finish the meal, on the house. So special. Second - there are several dishes on the menu that are awesome. The complimentary salsa and chips. The house guacamole. The Brussels sprouts side dish. And the veggie quesadillas. Third - the cocktails are great and the beers too! We were not impressed with the fish tacos (fish definitely not fresh) but the chicken and the brisket were decent. Not fabulous but good. The tortillas were delicious, for sure. The bathrooms are a hike from the restaurant so give yourself time.

Good but expensive

Quick lunch- really good blood orange margarita. Sat outside with a view of the part of the pool. Great server. Steak nachos were good & enough for two! About $60 for 2 beers, margarita & nachos.

We went to this restaurant

By Debora |

We went to this restaurant for my sisters birthday because we wanted to eat outside on the patio. The patio was beautiful with willow trees and twinkly lights. They served lovely fresh guacamole, three different delicious salsas, and what tasted like fresh tortilla chips. Yum! We had the ceviche which was fantastic. We had the fish tacos, carnitas tacos (moist and smoky), carne asada quesadilla (smoky and rich meat), tortilla soup (amazing!), and the best brisket barbacoa (daily special). The brisket was the most tender and flavorful and was dressed with rich and delicious mole sauce. Ernesto was our waiter and provided thoughtful and thorough service. They brought beautiful flan with a gorgeous birthday display. Please go to this restaurant! They rely heavily on convention business so they would love to see you. It's worth it.

So yummy!

We came for the all you can eat weekend brunch. We truly enjoyed it. We didn't have much time so we just told the waiter to order us one of everything on the menu and bring them out in any order they choose. Stand outs were the salmon avacado toast, the barbacoa benedict, steak and eggs and the churro tots. We did enjoy all the items though, except the deviled eggs. Nothing wrong with them, just didn't enjoy them. We will wait until they come out with their new menu and go again! The waiter said they change it about once a year, and should be time to change it up soon. Can't wait!

Disappointed

Took visiting family to Border Grill in Mandalay Bay. This is a great place to do lunch after the aquarium This time we were really let down by poor service. Our party of 4 adults and a child was shown to a table for two. Corrected that. Ordered guacamole to start....never came......asked about it and asked for water for 4 adults......got 3 glasses. No guacamole....Asked for 4th glass of water.......never came. Food came...no silverware/napkins....had to ask for it....asked again about guacamole.....when I asked to cancel it, it appeared in seconds. But no chips. Had to ask.....server said no charge for guacamole.....finally got 4th glass of water at the end of the meal. .when check came I was surprised to find a charge for the 4 glasses of tap water. Asked our server....she was almost rude in her response. : “ I pointed this out to you in great detail. It’s noted on the menu! “ She went on about the filtration process and the fees going to charity......I certainly don’t begrudge a $2.00 charitable donation but I did not have any such conversation from the server. The food was great!! Never disappointing, but the service was badly lacking. Our server was Angela S.

very fresh and flavorful TexMex

By MooshLA |

A great spot for lunch or brunch featuring a delicious TexMex menu. Dined here outside the other day and had a great Chile Relleno entree. It was a perfect size, well prepared and very flavorful and authentic. The rice and beans were a nice and fresh compliment. They offer fresh chips and a trio of salsas for an additional $3 however it's worth it as they're quite tasty. I love the fact that this restaurant avoids using lard or animal fat to cook their rice, beans or chips which makes for even better tasting menu items. The outdoor section was OK with minimal views and the indoor section was packed so be sure to make a reservation - especially if there is a convention in house.

This was possibly the best Mexican restaurant in Vegas. Check out this wonderful culinary treat for yourself!

I found the best Mexican restaurant in Vegas! Okay, that was the only one that I’ve ever been to in Vegas, but that was certainly a great start! We went to Mandalay Bay’s Border Grill. This was the real deal y’all. For starters, they bring out the BEST guacamole I’ve EVER tasted along with these hot tortilla chips and three types of salsa. All of them were winners, but I liked the habanero the most. The appetizer that I had was called the Aguachile. This is a “lime marinated sustainable shrimp, with citrus puya chile broth, serrano, onion, cilantro, avocado, on a plantain chip”. They provided three gorgeous little servings on a plate. I tore it up! I was so happy that my tastebuds were this happy! This was the best ceviche that I’ve ever eaten. Oh, and the citrus was blood-orange. I didn’t confirm it; my soul just knows it. Especially since I went back the next day and had it again. LOL, It was that good yall! On the first night, I ordered the cauliflower tacos as an entrée. They were wack. The cauliflower tempura was too bland to hold its weight against the other flavorful ingredients. I didn’t care because I was so full of (and impressed with) the Aguachile, guac, and chips. My daughter ordered Smoked Tofu Enchiladas. They too were bland because of the tofu. I just asked them to take the entrees back and off my tab. We ordered guac and chips to go and settled the tab. Going to Border Grill the next day was a fluke. We didn’t have anything planned until the last minute. We decided to go to the Shark Reef. Guess where that was located? At the Mandalay Bay. And guess what restaurant was right down the hall from it?? Border Grill! My daughter was so over me. As far as I was concerned, it all made sense. We were incredibly hungry, and it was going to take too long to get to any next destination. I ordered the same app, and we received two servings of guac and chips this time. They filled it up again as soon as the chips and guac were low. We were surprised and excited. We were also surprised about being charged for them too. The entrée that I ordered this time was fish tacos. How in the world can fish tacos taste this good?? You could taste every complementary flavor along with the texture of each ingredient, again complementing each other. The authentic little flour tortillas were lightly seared and very colorful too! A beautiful, tasty dish! My daughter ordered the vegan version of the Chile Relleno Burger. This was an Impossible burger with roasted poblano stuffed with Mexican cheeses, romaine, chipotle aioli on a brioche bun, and cumin fries. She loved it! Cons: I was confused about the guac and chips situation. They offered the guac and chips as if it was free like Bertucci’s with their bread and oil. On the first visit, they charged me for the to-go serving. That made sense to me. I received the bill the second time and was charged $12 for each serving. I felt like they should’ve said something.

Good specialty food, good service,

We had an order of Boarder Guacamole, Plantains, Grilled Skirt Steak, and Chicken Enchiladas All were good, well prepared. Portions were not overwhelming, but filling.

Great food, nice patio!

By tinatot |

We stopped here for lunch in April 2021. Places were still limited capacity, which meant the patio had nice spacing between the tables and didn’t feel crowded. Even though it was very windy, the patio is tucked in away from the wind. Loved people-watching the Mandalay Bay pool area from the restaurant patio. Our server was very nice. We ordered the plantain empanadas, chips and salsa, and carnitas. Note: the chips and salsa came with three salsas. We didn’t find the spicy one very spicy, but all three still had good flavors. All the food was very good. We’d go back!

Top notch brunch!

By Mike7244 |

We did the small plate brunch and could not have been happier. Our server (Kojo) went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied. It was hard to pick out a favorite dish. Everything was delicious. They have some interesting takes on a few classic brunch items, but it all tasted amazing. One of the best values I've found on the strip. You will not need to eat another meal for 24 hours. Will recommend and definitely return.

Best brunch in Vegas

Mike Minor drives this spot to perfection. Each tapas style brunch plate is equally beautiful and delicious. The bottomless mimosas option just puts the cherry on top of a great visit. My favorites are the empanadas and the Yucatán eggs Benedict

Don’t Bother. Service Was Slow And Unorganized

By Sean G |

Went in the past 2 days. First day was great. Sat at the bar and was great service. Yesterday I decided to have my family come down on my lunch break. Me, my wife, my son, & my brother went to have lunch there around 3:25pm. We sat in the back where they seated us. Ordered a Lemonade for my son, waters, and 2 apps. 30 mins later we got told they were switching our waiter to a new waitress. They made the intros ans ran away. We then waited an other 10 mins and flagged down a waiter as we couldn’t find the new waitress and asked if we could order and where was my sons lemonade at? New waitress got us the lemonade. By 4:25pm the food still wasn’t out and My brother and myself had to go back to work. I asked for the check so I could pay it and leave. To which the new waitress has a dramatic reaction too telling me the food is ready. I just got to bring it out. I tell her I have no more time I have to go back to the USA Basketball games. She then dismisses me in a dramatic fashion saying just go why would you pay for the food. I calmly asking her to bring the bill that it wasn’t her fault and that it was the poor service from the waiter in the beginning. She continues to be dramatic and dismiss what I am saying about paying the tab and that I am in a hurry to get back to work as I have run out of time. She then has some one else bring me the food out. To which I explain to that person the same thing, I have been in the restaurant for over an hour and I am out of time. I then ask an other waiter to get the bill so I can pay it and hand him my credit card. Then after waiting an other 5 mins the manager comes up. He seems to think we are being difficult and says he doesn’t understand why I am leaving when the order was put in 30 mins ago and he then assumes we have only been in the restaurant for 30 mins. This was not the case. 1 I don’t personally put in the orders. We rely on the wait staff to do that. I explain we have been here for over an hour, took 40 mins to get a lemonade for my 5 year old, and I have wasted my whole hour lunch break waiting on his staff to do there job. I explain there was a waiter/waitress switch and the first guy just didn’t do his job. I want to pay the bill so the waitress doesn’t get stiffed with the bill and no tip. The waitress all but catastrophized the whole situation and walked away from us like we were being difficult. Then the manager would not take the time to listen as he seemed to already make up his mind. I paid the whole tab with a $30 tip (over 25%) to be treated like absolute garbage due to the staffs ignoring our table. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Food not great

By Dawn G |

atmosphere was good, we sat outside. Our server was great! But food was not worth the price. I had the enchilada trio with everything except for the vegetarian one. It was dry and the tort was hard and not very flavorful. The seafood one was very fishy.

Something for Everyone

By Nicholas B |

We were staying at Mandalay Bay and booked in a dinner seated in the outside area. I know they are well known for their brunch but timing didn’t allow this trip. All staff encountered were bright and friendly, a definite highlight. We chose a range of vegetarian dishes to share and a few cocktails. First off, try the impossible meat empanadas, so good - a flavour bomb. Chips and guacamole really decent, the rainbow cauliflower tacos a lil bland. Outside were these odd plastic table covers which bring the tone down a bit and it was super packed with kids. Maybe not a date night venue. Solid enough offerings if you want a Mexican fix, although get thee to Tacotarian in the Arts District for a perfect vege Mexican experience.

Don’t order queso fundido togo

By Erin B |

Due to the covid pandemic, I have preferred to order my food to go to eat in my room at Mandalay Bay. I heard great things about the queso fundido…when I picked it up I was so disappointed. What I received was a box of congealed cheese in a block. Completely inedible. The chips and salsa were came with were slightly better but the salsa was a minimal amount. Maybe 2 TBSP in volume

Good meal but overpriced.

By Rudolph2 |

The meal was OK but bill came to over $100. for Mexican. Only had 1 beer. My wife has encaldas, couldn't find the chicken. I had a pork selection which was very good.
