Ate at Botanica for breakfast and it was AWESOME! I highly recommend the MORNING MEZZE • $16 roasted squash hummus; market vegetable salad with dukkah (nuts, seeds, spices); six-minute egg with salsa verde; marinated olives; Bub & Grandma's bread + add ricotta salata • $2 AND Fresh Turmeric-Ginger-Black Pepper Cashew Milk Latté (hot/iced) $5 Service was great! if its a nice day sit on the back patio.

Cute little place with indoor/outdoor/covered patio seating and a little market area up front. Well-prepared food with imaginative combinations (peaches & eggplant, roasted cauliflower with mandarinquat and roasted mushrooms with green tahini). Pricey but the quality of the ingredients speaks to the cost.

On a busy Friday, we enjoyed a pleasant lunch with friends, seated in the front section near the bar – with a fairly high noise level. The rear section might be a bit quieter... The menu offers a limited range of dishes, including some out-of-the-ordinary flavour combinations – mostly very tasty, although we found the chicken congee rather stodgy and disappointing. By contrast, the wine/drinks list is very extensive, with many choices of reds, whites, cocktails etc – all 'organic', of course.. The service was friendly efficient, and we thought the prices were quite reasonable.

We came here for lunch, busy restaurant with nice easy light type of menu. Seems very popular and we were lucky to get a seat at the rear in the outside part of the restaurant. Good service and food came quite quickly after we ordered, I went for the fish dish which was very taste wholesome and well presented. The others in the party had various other dishes all looked good and comments similar. If I was in town again would definitely pay it a visit.

I was sketching in the area and in need of refreshment and a snack. I had a fruit scone and French cider while I sat on the patio in the shade. The small deli area in the front is very well curated with an impressive selection of wine and beverages, and the inside restaurant is flat out beautiful. The staff were also quite considerate and nice (thank you). The restroom was perhaps one of the most civilized and clean I’ve ever experienced.

I had heard about Botanica and finally made it there last night for dinner with a friend. As you can see from other reviews, I am not alone in loving this place. Every dish we had was fresh and delicious with unique flavors. The non-alcoholic drinks were a perfect companion to the meal. My dinner date enjoyed her wine and they seemed to have a large selection. Our servers were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff appears to work as a happy team flowing throughout the restaurant making sure everything runs smoothly. There was no pressure to leave so we were able to enjoy a long conversation throughout the evening. The sound level was manageable and we could hear one another, a highlight these days. If you want to immerse yourself in the spirit of inspirational Los Angeles lifestyle, Botanica is the place. The architecture is inspiring and it is hard to leave. Everyone in the restaurant was beautiful and it made me feel confident sitting in their vicinity. Congrats Botanica, well done!

Good brunch spot. The non-alcoholic juices were excellent. There was a very chill vibe and we never felt rushed to order/ eat.

Four of us had dinner and each had one alcoholic drink - no desserts - $210. So a bit pricey but the food was excellent and the service friendly. Quite a buzz on a Saturday night

Silver Lake in general is such a quaint hipster town and this restaurant fits right in. The menu is creative and the service is top notch. Don’t let the exterior fool you the atmosphere inside is funky yet serene. Wish this restaurant was on the corner of my home street!

Great egg dish based on a Turkish recipe - latte perfect , the almond cake was also good . Service not perfect

Stopped in with friends while visiting town for spring break. Food was excellent and presentation was outstanding. Staff was helpful and offered good suggestions on items to share. They have a nice bakery upfront, tables in the back, and a nice outdoor seating area. Worth stopping in if you are in the area.

As part of my American Express benefits I get to spend £150 per year on overseas restaurants. My husband has the same. We very rarely go anywhere where there is one of these restaurants and so the benefit has gone to waste for the last few years, but in LA we found Botanica. We were pleased as we were there a few days and thought, great these would work out free meals. We went once, spending about $80 - so about £65, the food was terrible, so bad we chose not to go back and spend the rest of our free money. The most basic food was so unnecessarily spiced and seasoned to lose all taste. Hot tea was served so pale it looked like milk. I have no idea who has written these other reviews, they've clearly never been.

My friend and I were visiting LA for a few days this month, and we chose Botanica for a brunch one morning (we were staying in Silver Lake). The restaurant is beautiful, and the service was great. YOU CAN MAKE RESERVATIONS. There was already a line at the door when we got there when they opened. But we had made a reservation, so we weren't worried by the line. A few people in the line seemed surprised that you could make a reservation! We both felt like something a little different than coffee (although they had a lot of coffees that sounded great) and got matcha lattes - they weren't sweet at all and completely delicious. And the food? Great. My friend got the Turkish eggs (poached farm eggs, aleppo-urfa butter, garlicky yogurt, charred scallions, lemony salad, and cornmeal focaccia), which she loved. (They sell the aleppo-urfa butter in the small market at the front of the restaurant, and she was checking it out to try to make it at home.) I got a smoked fish dish that was also completely delicious. The market in the front of the restaurant is small but sold a lot of great items. Their bakery sells their breads as well. Charming restaurant, great meal. If I lived in LA, I think it would be in my regular rotation for brunch!

Personable service and delicious food, and wine, in a cozy and unassuming environment. Worthy of a visit, and returns....

This restaurant shows us what is possible when chefs create a well-prepared, well-sourced vegetarian meal. (They also serve meat.) Unique atmosphere, tucked in a mostly residential neighborhood. Dine outside if the weather is good.

Absolutely loved the food and the richness of the flavors at this smallish Silver Lake spot, but just found Botanica a bit pricey for the ambiance and service. I highly recommend the cassoulet vert, grilled lamb kabobs and garlicky toast, but strongly suspect that anything you order will be outstanding. Just be aware that the menu is a bit limited.

Love the atmosphere, menu, food and service. Plus a great drink (and wine) list. This is a must for tourists ... the locals already know! I'm def heading back before my vacation week ends. The mushroom tartine could be the best thing I've ever eaten. Seriously, ever!

We ate brunch at Botanica before the Rams - Jags game in December and found the menu to be awesome and food fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The black cod from the market is outstanding. Can be in cold or warm. The fish Kefta Also made with black cod is a wonderful summer dish. It served with rice and a special Middle Eastern bread made right at the restaurant. The heirloom tomato sauce has tremendous flavor. The seared mushrooms also. Well with the light rice.

The atmosphere is young, green and sophisticated. It has a bakery and excellent choices for a light meal. Salads were delicious. I was able to enjoy their bread - unfortunately they only had limited choice of gluten free cookies but no bread. Delicious cukumber cold drink (I would say it had a tonic water and ginger base) and my favorite was a medley of dark and green olives of all sizes with herbs and olive oil, warmed up.They actually sell these in a jar. The cinnamon cookie for gluten free desert was delicious, the chocolate one a tad dry! All considered, look forward to going back to Botânica.

A cool spot that boasts a poetic and creative menu. I opted for the Turkish eggs out of curiosity of the amalgamation of flavors including Aleppo butter. Each bite was amazing and I am a huge fan of any place that can make a few simple ingredients taste out of this world. The decor and atmosphere was simple and clean like the food and I did have the pleasure of sitting next to a celeb that I am a huge fan of but restrained myself throughout the meal.

Botanica is simply outstanding food in a wonderful and delightful space. I came for breakfast and was blown away by the food and ambience.

Nice find and just beat the crowd arriving mid-morning. The $16 Bloody Mary is worth it if you can splurge. I had the Turkish eggs and the lady had the Tomatillo breakfast. Unique blend of flavor and spices for often simple eggs. Check this place out when in Silver Lake. The staff was friendly and having a genuine good time. That makes the experience all the better.

A very nice, slightly off the beaten track, small restaurant serving excellent, healthy food. Lovely, friendly people. Fabulous, unusual wine selection!

LA is a sprawling mass of fast food misses. In among it are gems where you can eat delicious in season healthy food. Botanica was fantastic. Kids got settled with watermelon juices and they had scrambled eggs and toast - Mum had delicious breakfast bowl while I had veggie scramble with bacon side. As Australian's we are very fussy breakfast eaters and in Botanica you get it all. To top it off - If you want good coffee this is also great. Highly recommend!
Dinner
My friend and I had dinner at Botanica on Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food everything was excellent. We had 'Beets and Barrata', 'Chinese Long Beans', 'Garlicky Toast', and stuffed honeynut squash. If you have time before dinner there are several shops nearby to explore.
