A real taste of Brazil ! The Cheese Bread steak sandwitch is fenomenal and unlike other food trucks this one has pic nic tables with shade. Just as seen on “ Diners Drive ins and Dives”

This was our first visit. It was recommended by our sons who ate here a couple of years ago. Located in the East 6th Food Truck Park. It was cirrounded by about six other trucks offering a variety of international cuisines. We had the Feijoada and the Picanha Grelhada. My brother-in-law spent over forty years in Brazil and raved about the food.

The smell from the food truck got us as we were passing by the restaurant and we were glad to follow our nose and sit down for a good meal. Torresmo Com Goiabada is very cripsy and similar to the roast park sold at Chinese restaurant. Coxinha is nicely fried. Feijoada is a bit on the salty side. It's our first time trying Guarana - Brazilian soda, frizzy and fruity. The owner is very nice. He brought us a sample of the yucca fries. I'll come back for another evaluation when I am in the neighborhood.

I really enjoyed my trip to Boteco. A friend and I split several entrees. It was all good! We split yucca fries and a coxinha appetizer and a steak/egg/bean/rice main dish. Our favorite was the coxinha (a chicken and sour cream dish). If memory serves, the appetizers were $4-$7'ish range and I think the main entree dish was around $14 dollars. While not as inexpensive as some food trucks, the food and service was good, the musix is good and adds some fun ambiance, and there was some shaded (by trees) seating right by the trucks. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely visit again.

Visited in Jan, 2017 and three adults shared: yucca fries (amazing dipping sauce, get 2!), chicken coxinha and one steak entre. IT WAS ALL AMAZING! I loved loved LOVED the coxinha (hope that's how it's spelled), not too cheesy and the perfect amount of batter. Yucca fries were a treat, kinda the texture if you fried mashed potatoes. And the steak was high quality and cooked to perfection!

I cannot stress enough how ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND AUTHENTIC this food truck is. One of the owners is from Minas Gerais, Brasil, and, man, do mineiros know how to cook delicious Brazilian food. Everything, from their snacks to their picanha, is just delicious. If you are Brazilian, I can guarantee you this is the best place in central Texas for you to have Brazilian food - honestly, rice and beans wise, I haven't had it this good in all Texas. If you are not Brazilian, just stop by and try it because you will not regret it. Try the yucca, try the coxinhas and pastel, try the picanha! And don't forget a good Guarana on the side! Thank you, Boteco ATX for bringing me so close to home whenever I miss it, even if that means traveling all the way from San Antonio to taste it!

If you're looking for something different when in Austin and craving Brazilian food, this food truck off of 7th is just the place you want to go to. I didn't know I had a craving for Brazilian till I stumbled upon this gem in Austin. In a city that prides itself on the food truck scene, this one stands out above them all. The food is perfect, the staff and the owners make it a perfect night out in Austin. The setting is very chic and the music playing from the speakers on the truck just add to the authenticity of the experience. Two thumbs way up.

I have been a loyal customer of this wonderful truck for few years now. I think I found heaven when I first found it. But I'm sadden with the direction that is heading. They have the local attention from the media, foodies, and even the local Hollywood stars. So why the 3 stars? because they have raised their prices while reducing the original amount of food that they gave you. Again, food is really good for a food truck, but their portions have shrunk while the price have gone up up and up. So now you go to this food truck and pay as much or even more than going to an actual restaurant, where you get full service. I want this truck to be successful, I love the food, At this rate I can only afford it less often as I used to before.

Kicking off our trip in Austin with Boteco as our first meal was brilliant. It's one of the many food trucks you'll find in this city and quite surprisingly, there was only our party and another that was there that Saturday evening. I wonder if daytime is when you'll find a crowd here because frankly, with the food they dish out, I would assume there's always a line. By no means am I complaining having had a nice and quiet meal outdoors in a backyard setting while sitting on a wooden bench under a canopy with string lights all around. We had the place to ourselves and was even attended to by the guy who ran the truck making sure everything was pleasant. Pastel de Queijo ($4) or 4 cheese empanadas if you will was such a delight with a super crisp crust. Though hollow inside, you can somehow confirm there is lots of cheese and when you pair it with their chimichurri aioli, you've got yourself a winner. I liked their Yuca Fries($5), too but it needs to be shared as it is on the heavy side. Now, the highlight here really is their House Special PICANHA GRELHADA ($15). Cooked to a perfect med-rare pink oozing with a toothsome flavor, the sirloin cap steak was ridiculously tender. Pair it with fried egg, rice, beans, and what-have-you, for such a reasonable price, I hit nirvana just like that.

I can't say enough good things about Boteco. The food is totally authentic Brazilian- it is unlike anything else I've had in the US and it is so good. I wish I had been able to try all of the appetizer options. The yucca fries were bomb and the picanha dish was outrageous! The owner is super friendly and fun to talk to. It is a food truck, but they have tables with umbrellas for shade. They're closed on Monday & Tuesday. Don't miss!

Pros: It was delicious, and different. And the only con: we needed to be patient as he prepared our food. And we were, and it was worth it. I think maybe it took so long because maybe he had just opened for the day. For us, it was the best thing about 6th East, even though it's on 7th.

It was so tasty...easy to devour the Picanha! (Even though can easily be shared by 2 people). On a Wednesday night, it wasn't busy at all with plenty of outdoor seating. If you're not completely stuffed after Boteco, you can get some ice cream/sorbet next door at Prohibition Creamery.

Been there with my husband for a quick bite. We had the picanha and the fried pork belly with guava. Man, the pork belly was delicious! If we had had time we would've gone back for more! Unfortunately they dont carry the passion fruit mousse anymore 😭

This is the best place to have Brazilian food in Texas!!!!! We tried it for the first time around 2 years ago and we fell in love with the coxinha, the quality of the picanha, the yuca, the empanadas, the great service and all the other details. Since then, we have been the most loyal customers... as we don't live in Austin, we sometimes on the weekends leave Houston at 10 am just to arrive at Boteco around noon and have lunch! It is definitely worth the drive!!!!!

I had the Picanha Grelhada: medium-rare sirloin steak, rice, beans, caramelized onions, fried egg, biguinho peppers. 👌 I tried it in a food truck at SXSW. The presentation was great, the flavors even better. 😍

This place has very good food. I haven't been to all Brazilian restaurants in Austin yet. But this is the best, so far. The guy cooks a very good Brazilian meal. Here you can find coxinha, picanha, brazilian beans, fried yucca and more. I was there for lunch and had a picanha with beans, rice, egg and yucca (for $14)... It was really, really nice. I'm definitely going back there.
Authentic Brazilian food in Austin, TX
Sometimes, the right tastes, food and services are delivered in different ways than a conventional restaurant. I’ve recently moved to Austin, TX and am amazed by one of the locals favorites eateries: food trucks. There are actually hundreds of these all over town. I was trying to steer away from Tex-Mex food, something you can find everywhere in Texas, and try some authentic South American flavors on my plate. By searching Trip Advisor I’ve could find several options, the top ones being Steakhouses (good but Expensive) and some Peruvian, Brazilian and Colombian restaurants, all of those mixing flavors with Tex-Mex. What is totally understandable, after all we are in Texas… Right?! It was a surprise when I’ve found BOTECO ATX. It’s a food truck, located in a beautiful park on 7Th street. The seating on benches and tables are limited. But it is under the shade of a tall pecan tree. The reception was warm and one of the owners, Lauren, was very helpful and courteous on helping me choose my food and explaining the especial of the day. I’ve decided to have the special of the day: Virado a Paulista (Grilled pork loin, with rice, beans, sausage, fried egg on top and a caramelized deep fried banana). With some deep fried Yucca, very tender and flavorful by itself, with a Brazilian soft drink called Guarana (an Amazon Brazilian Cherry type of soft drink ). I’ve heard that the “Brazilian Feijoada” is very authentic, for what I’ve heard from other patrons I’ve met. On Sundays they serve “Feijoada” a black beans stew with pork parts, with white rice, “Farofa”, sliced orange and collard greens Brazilian Style, that I’ve had before in Brazil and recommend you trying. The flavors we so incredible that I had to try something else! I’ve met the owner Fernando and, trust me on that, he holds the secrets of an authentic Brazilian flavor and spices from the state of Minas Gerais. He is a very relax man that, as I said, is a great chef! I’ve ended up having “Pastel de Carne and Queijo”, a meat and cheese empanada, “Coxinha” (Co-Sheen-A) a deep fried breaded potato dough with a chicken meat filling to die for. Finished my meal with a “ Brigadeiro” a chocolate truffle covered with chocolate sprinkles as desert. Ended up buying to go some original Brazilian “ Pao de Queijo”, a gluten free roll with cheese that is a specialty from Brazil. I recommend to all of you, when visiting Austin, to stop by this food truck, BOTECO ATX. If you are craving something AUTHENTIC, flavorful, labor of love intensive Brazilian food., this is the place to go.
