Hidden gem in a great area

By edengulledge |

Excellent dining experience! Quick service and delicious food. Everything was perfect. Glad to have the 20% tip to ensure fair wages for servers.

Great food for all appetites!

By singafer |

Quintessential Austin at its best. Great people watching, plus dogs, and apparently large birds, are welcome on the patio. Love the food. Heavy on the organic and fresh with vegan and gluten-free options. I had the Loaded Grilled Cheese con Hierbas with cheddar-Jack cheese, fresh basil, spinach, red onion, jalapeño and fresh tomato on perfectly toasted sourdough bread. I chose the lime-peanut slaw for my side and hibiscus iced tea. My lunch partner thoroughly enjoyed the Bello Jiafra Melt (sans the ciabatta bread, she’s eating Keto) with roasted portobello mushrooms and bell peppers, baby spinach, feta cheese and a side salad. Great, friendly service. Parties of two or four are probably best served here...it’s not all that big. Usually very busy. Full bar with specialty drinks.

Spoilt for Choice

By Rod W |

As vegetarians it’s not often we can eat everything on the menu, but we can at this place. Great food, wide selection, and great service by Danny (Danielle). Loved this place and would definitely recommend it to any visitors to Austin. Cool vibes.

An all around 10/10 experience

By kennydb69 |

The food is delicious. The service is fast and friendly. And the prices are fair. They even have a decent happy hour that goes until 7:00pm. I also like the laid-back old school atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend and will be back.

Delicious!

By Ro123 |

Great food and wonderful service! We ordered breakfast items and were very satisfied. The fruit is fresh, coffee is hot and food is filling. Will definitely return!

Sunday brunch

By Stewartclan5 |

This is a busy place so we weren’t surprised we were told it would be a 45 minute wait. Thankfully there are lots of places to sit and wait and as we were leaving we heard the line was up to 1.5 hours! The food was excellent and prices were reasonable so we were glad we waited. The breakfast sandwich and potato hash were 2 of my favourites.

Too busy

By davidWaltonOnThames |

Vegetarian and a 90 minute wait for a table. Soulless outside tables mostly empty Food was good but not quick.

Just amazing

By Joel M |

Took out of town family here for breakfast and they were blown away.Fully stocked breakfast plates, rather platters of eggs, bacon, toast and anything else you could imagine. Fantastic staff. The 15 minute wait was worth it. Did I mention my out of town relatives are vegan. No problem here. A full line of vegan dishes served all day. Just amazing staff.

Great service and delish vegan food

By Mimi_Ann2013 |

The service was superior. Food was on the table almost before we ordered! There were many vegan and vegetarian options. My husband liked the rainbow salad and the blueberry cornbread!.

Vegan Vegetarian Restaurant

By Pr0ject0ne |

This place is a must go. Reservations on Yelp app recommended during peak times. Very friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Food is very tasty. nothing blah about this vegetarian/vegan food. Lots of choices. Clean and fast service. Parking is tight. Small parking lot but street parking in neighborhood. We just waited a few minutes and got a spot in the parking lot. I ate there the last 2 times I visited Austin in the last 6 months. Highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.

Vegan vegetarian

By pr0ject1 |

This is an off the main awesome, good tasting food spot. I had the BLTA sandwich with the peanut, lime dressing ...it was delicious! Also got a vegan cream filled cookie... yum!! Not too sweet. Everything my family ate was also delicious. Was not busy when we went at 4:30 pm. I heard it gets super busy at peak times. Definitely going back.

Rainy Lunch 28th December

By kishoredave |

Rainy Lunch 28th December was a rainy day in Austin and we have gone for lunch. We are being strict vegetarian have selected this vegan restaurant. It was a really very testier restaurant and all items we picked were awesome. Those who are vegetarians must visit this place either for lunch or dinner.

Great Food

By George H |

This place is amazing. The flavors are full and explosive. They take the ordinary and make it extraordinary.

Not sure what the fuss is about

By PieCity |

There is really nothing special about this place. We were quite disappointed. We came for brunch around noon on a Sunday and the place was packed. We loved the variety of the menu (being both vegetarian so this was a treat) and loved the space; however, the food really missed the target. It was fine but each thing we had we could've easily made ourselves for a quarter of the price. The ingredients were obviously of a higher quality but the execution failed for us. Also, the orange juice was really strange-tasting which we never experienced before!

Been there twice in three days

By Guy A |

Thiis is a great place to eat and drink to your vegetarian and vegan delight. Great choice of food and drinks on offer, in a fun atmosphere.

This place is incredible.

By annekabjorkeson |

This place is incredible. Everything is absolutely delicious. Salads, sandwhiches & cookies were all a hit. I wish I lived in Austin so I could come here every weekend. Vegan heaven.

Spoiled For Choice!

By Divya |

The Bouldin Creek Cafe has an exhaustive(ing) menu - there are so many options, it was tough to decide! Finally decided on the Zucchini & Cheese Migas, Spicy Pesto Plate, & a Thai Style Curry Bowl. The Migas were slightly runny and low on cheese, however the Chipotle Pecan Pesto was worth its weight in gold, and the Curry was delicious. I liked some of the food, and the service is definitely A-Grade. I would go back.

Cultural Outing

By trekking4ward |

In order to get in quickly on a Saturday morning, we agreed to sit at a community table, with two other couples. It was a little tight, with all the side dishes, but allowed for more interaction with locals. The menu blew my mind! Such an eclectic variety of vegan, vegetarian and locally sourced items! Service was prompt, clothing was very hipster:) People watching opportunities abound..

Most excellent breakfast

By Sharon C |

Party of three seated and ordered with excellent service. Everything was fresh and serving size just right. Highly recommended for everyone!

30th Anniversary Trip

By Rodney A |

We visited Bouldin Cafe, because my wife is vegan and I always try to find a few places just for her. This spot had great reviews and it did not disappoint. The vibe is very eclectic/hippie-ish and the food was excellent! My wife had Massaman Curry Bowl. I had maple smoked collards, cornbread, black & red beans with black rice. Everything was great!

tripadvisor keeps emailing me

By Ryan B |

I love bouldin. it used to be a little weird arty place now its nicer but its still good especially for vegan food. Also tripadvisor keeps emailing my butt about how im in the top blahblah percent of blahblah. well can i get a reward or some shmidt? why you keep emailing a brother?

Don't let the stickers fool you!

By GStroud |

My wife's birthday, a tradition, get to go wherever you want to eat. For lunch she chose Bouldin Creek. I was expecting something far less than what we got. Arrived about 12:30, had to wait about 15 minutes. The menu had a vegatarian reuben, a favorite of mine. I ordered that, my wife had a salad. We shared a pesto appetizer. Our food arrived quickly. The reuben was warm, made of beets. It was good. It came with kettle chips, they were good too. My wife's salad was loaded with broccoli and tofu. I got to taste it, was very good. I would go back again. My bill came to $28 w/o the tip.

My favorite restaurant!

By Kfunk |

I love this place. Food is good and employees are nice. This place is my go-to for a great austin experience for any of my out of town visitors.

The food is excellent!

By jgkapur |

One of our favorite places to go. The veggie royale, tofu omelettes, all are very delicious. The service is great. We love the fact that there is so much vegan choice. There is always a wait, whatever time of the day... that tells you the popularity of this place. Must eat when visiting Austin.

Delicious!

By Katherine Lynn Stones |

The best family lunch I had, very good food and excellent service, in addition to the fact that the atmosphere is great, you have to go, I highly recommend it!!!!

Can’t fault it. Get the B.L.T.A!

By Sydney B |

I ate here with my partner 3 times in the 5 days we stayed in Austin. The staff are incredibly friendly (that famous southern hospitality!) and their food is fantastic; portions are generous. Friends, If you’re vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free, this is you’re home base. The home-made hash makes all others imposters, and their chipotle pecan sauce is a treat for spice-lovers. On my last day I had the B.L.T.A, which the server recommended I have with ciabatta and the chipotle pecan dipping sauce (whoops, the secret is out) and let me understate: It. Was. Heaven. I’ve never had such a great sandwich. Thanks for being you, Bouldin Creek Cafe.

Fabulous Food!

By Lucky M |

It's rare for me to eat out because I have dangerous allergies, especially to chemical preservatives, gluten, and the nightshade family, so I always carry my own food. I was visiting Austin, and a friend from Austin who understands my needs recommended Bouldin Creek Cafe. I admit, I was really cautious, but there was no need to worry. Our server listened carefully to my needs, helped me navigate the menu, and then checked with the kitchen to make sure my meal would be safe for me. I had a fantastic dinner! It was totally delicious! I didn't have to eat anything I'd brought from home. I'm looking forward to going there again and trying more of their fabulous meals.

Wonderful Brunch

By WanderLSP |

There were so many great options on the menu. It was difficult to decide. Everything was delicious. I wish we would have had time to come back and try lunch.

Could've been 6 stars

By David B |

I wanted tacos, my friend suggested vegetarian...I died a little inside, but went along anyway. What an amazing surprise. The food here is only bettered by the friendly staff. Even though tacos were on the menu (vegetarian tacos) I chose something else from the awesome range on the menu. Great atmosphere, fantastic decor...loved it.

A great brunch!

By lisaland |

What a delicious find! My son lives in Austin and he suggested we try this place. We loved everything we had. The blueberry cornbread was to die for. The server was really sweet. We will definitely come back on our next visit.

Casual dining

By LupefromTexas |

Came to eat with family. Not sure what to expect when I was told it was vegan. But I was pleasantly surprised. I did have eggs with my breakfast though. Place is dog friendly, Austin style, friendly staff and nice atmosphere Wait on Sunday was about an hour but it went by fast with conversation and a beer.

Fun and friendly in South Austin

By 48215 |

We were in Austin sightseeing and had a chance to meet up with a friend who now lives there. For a dinner place we said something local and healthy. She recommended Bouldin Creek Cafe. We got there a little early so walked around the neighborhood. What a great area. Colorful and eclectic. Bouldin Creek Cafe was just what we wanted. The menu is casual with prices to match. The lime coleslaw, one of the sides with a sandwich, was especially good. Friendly, efficient service.

Good large but cute coffee, good for a vegan brunch

By Vieltraveller |

Very nice restaurant a bit off the main are of SoCo in Austin. There's usually a wait to get a table, so best (if possible) to reserve, as it otherwise can be between 45minutes and up to 2 hours of a wait. Staff was very friendly and there's a good good selection of all vegetarian and vegan dishes. Food was good and plentiful so it's worth the price.

Many vegan options!

By Maria 🪷 |

Bouldin Creek is a quirky, unique find in a great neighborhood. We decided to come here because of the myriad vegan options. They also have an allium-free menu, which my partner appreciated! We only had a short wait to be seated outside (it was chilly indoors) and our meals were served quickly. The food was unremarkable, though the maple latte was great. I’d probably return due to their many vegan options, but I wouldn’t rush back anytime soon.

Breakfast Destination

By Ohio001 |

Our son in Austin said this place was fantastic so we went on a Friday morning for breakfast. He was right. I had the Bouldin omelet with hash n toast. Fresh hot and organic. Gotta recommend this place.

Good but so much soy.

By ~Michelle My Belle~ |

Just because I'm vegan doesn't mean I eat tofu and soy. I did here to see how it was. The chickpea salad sandwich was the best! Fresh & refreshing! The chorizo wad the next best. Quite tasty! The nachos were ok. I recommend it for sure. Enjoy.

Fantastic veggie breakfasts!

By newenglandtravel73 |

My wife and I just went to Austin for a long weekend and fortunately went to Bouldin St for breakfast our first day there since it was so good we went back the second day as well! We mixed up our ordering quite a bit and everything we tried was great! Staff was awesome and prices were reasonable. Parking is a bit of a pain but well worth the hassle.

AVOID this cafe unless you are a WOKE fool

By Frank Rodriguez |

Owners must be woke because wait is 45 minutes even though 50% of the tables are empty. Owners should learn to be AWAKE instead of WOKE.

A local fav!

By LauriTurner |

I’ve enjoyed every meal here since they’ve opened for business. The food is down home no frills nutrition. You will leave satisfied and happy.

Really Superb Vegetarian Food in a Creative & Funky Atmosphere

By Camper38820930981 |

The food here is delicious! The staff is friendly and the crowd attests to its popularity. Distinctive menu - the Wanna BLT was incredible. Their tofu "bacon" has to be tasted to be believed. Others who were with me enjoyed the Tarzan salad and Joe's Smokin' Omelet. Decorated with art by local artists, a phenomenal number of stickers, rustic furnishings inside and out, the place has a vibe that's cool and fun and distinctive. A great place to go for lunch!

Nice lunch

By Stefania817 |

Coming from abroad to attend a conference in Austin, I found this place searching for a vegetarian restaurant. I took the bus #10 from downtown and I arrived to this nice and relaxing, familiar mood place. The young lady at the reception was very kind, I got a confortable table quite soon. The waiter took my order soon and the food arrived quickly, main dish before the appetizer was finished. The quality of food was excellent, the amount big enough to satisfy also a very hungry stomach. The bill also came soon , when I asked to pay by card the waiter seemed a little bit disappointed (but I signed for the higher amount of tip, anyway). They gave me the doggy bag boxes (all materials eco-friendly and recyclable) to collect the rest of the appetizers. I hope to come again to dine during my stay in Austin.

Great breakfast and coffee

By ToucanSam787 |

My friend and I had breakfast here on Saturday morning, omelets and coffee. Great selection, great brews. You have to get there early to avoid the lines.

Wow

By Breezy-N-Wheezy |

The food here was so good, I'm still thinking about the blueberry cornbread - it works at any meal. Great mix of options on the menu, friendly servers and staff in a cool space. Dogs welcomed on the patio. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent

By AbrahamLincolnCPA |

Three of us went to Bouldin Creek Cafe on a recommendation and loved it. Food was excellent, nicely presented and tasty. Funky decor and purely Austin ambiance. Highly recommend.

Great breakfast spot in South Austin!

By Don J |

Grabbed breakfast at BCC while in town over a long weekend. Loved the menu, staff, and vibe. Menu is strictly vegan and vegetarian, but the options for anyone are very diverse. Will definitely visit again.

Easter Sunday Bouldin Brunch

By Chris T |

This restaurant was recommended by our AirBnB landlady as a place to visit in Bouldin. The service was very good (nicely attentive) and we had a good breakfast.

Vegan Dinner

By Jake J |

We are visiting Texas as Vegans. There is a lot of BBQ for us to go off our diet for a cheat day. This is delicious food with a great staff and atmosphere! This feels like a cheat meal because it is such delicious food!

Fresh delicious food

By triximeister |

Our waitress was very nice and friendly and asked us many times if we need anything, but not to much. Our food was so good and fresh it was just so delicious! The only thing I wasn't totally happy with was the atmosphere. We sat outside and the chairs were not comfortable at all.

Super busy, but I can see why!

By Mary Ann Bock |

We went on a Saturday at noon. They said 45 minute wait but it turned out to be almost 55 minutes. This was our first time here. The food was very good, fresh and tasty. Service was good even though they were so busy. Prices are very reasonable for this day and age.

Waiting time too long

By rose |

Waiting time too long. Excruciating... you'll lose your appetite, so better to walk somewhere else less hipster. The food looks average therefore I'm not sure it's worth such a waste of time.

Great breakfast

By taniahk |

Excellent food, fun atmosphere, great service. The herbed hash browns were so good. Great vegan options. Would definitely return.

Our favorite vegetarian restaurant in Austin

By ScottEP |

Excellent vegetarian menu with plenty of vegan options. Authentic Austin vibe & décor. Friendly server on our visit, with recommendations that hit the mark. Try a dessert, the Taxi Driver is highly recommended. Very reasonable prices.

South Austin Favorite

By kellgc |

Service is always excellent at Bouldin Creek, even when sitting at the bar for a quick meal. Can't go wrong with the stir-fry or the tamales. Last visit I had the vegan burger. It was a bit dry. Perhaps I should have requested extra chipotle pesto, because that is my favorite part of the whole vegan burger experience.

Lovely

By Catherine A |

Wonderful vegan/nonvegan options - cool vibe of staff & customers. We ended up sitting at the bar to not have to wait to be seated which was comfortable & delicious.

Busy but worth the wait

By dome_folk |

We were here on vacation so did not mind the half-hour wait for a table. We liked their IPA beer selection. I had the Wanna BLTA and it was very good. My husband had the Tamale Breakfast and it was fine, not great. What we most enjoyed was the hippie vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant, took us back to our youth. :-) We stayed a couple hours just relaxing.

Great food and wonderful service

By Lillian B |

They are great for people with alternative diets. I had there Inner Sun tofu scramble withe wheat toast and fresh (orange topped with pomegranate) which absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had thier El Tipico breakfast which he seemed to enjoy. Their spiced Chai latte with almond milk was pretty good. The staff and service were good.

Local favorite, a bit noisy

By Troubdrgrl |

The food is good, prices fair (for “new Austin”). Staff can be a bit condescending. Both times it was very noisy and crowded so not ideal for an intimate talk but a fun place to go. Again very good food and very popular with locals.

Fabulous!

By Valerie E |

Loved this funky cafe and the ability to get gluten free and dairy free meals! I had the Greek Quinoa Bowl that was so delicious. They had delicious food, have my favorite non-dairy cheese and various beverages to choose from.

Quaint Austinesque eatery

By Badluck711 |

Great place to meet a small group. Great menu options, coffee and great service. Just off S 1st but away from the rush of downtown.

Unique breakfast place

By Libby F |

Recommended by our bnb host so we stopped in for breakfast. As meat eaters from the Midwest, we were pleasantly surprised by our meals. Very tasty omelettes. We sat on the patio and had good service. If you're looking for bacon or biscuits and gravy, I'd go somewhere else.

Excellent Vegetarian Food

By Kristin K |

My son and I enjoyed our meal at BCC very much. He had the BLTA and I had the Fall Buddha Bowl. Both of our meals were delicious. I even took home leftovers and ate them the next morning for breakfast! Just so you know: service is added at 20% and I was not impressed with the service, but the food was very delicious!

Yuck

By LettieS |

Can't understand the favorable reviews for this restaurant. We visited for a late lunch on a weekend and were disappointed. The noise level was annoying. I could barely hear my husband seated across the table, and we had to ask the server to repeat himself several times to hear him. He used the men's room and reported he couldn't believe how filthy it was (and he usually never comments about that). A couple of pieces of silverware had dried food on them from not being washed properly. The servers never cleaned up the dirty dishes from surrounding tables when we were there. Lazy! A mess, not a very pleasant ambiance for us. Our food was okay, nothing to rave about. Prices were okay for the quantities of food served. Somehow I missed what all these other rave reviews report about. Don't bother, that's my conclusion.

Probably the best vegetarian restaurant I've been to

By TravelerNotTourist30 |

The menu has a great variety influenced by multiple cuisines. We went as a family and had 3 entrees and 2 apps and everything tasted great.

Pre-F1 breakfast

By Mistoffelees_the_cat |

Even better than last year - this is the best place for breakfast prior to the F1 Grand Prix. Great food, great service and fun atmosphere. What more do you want? Go Lewis! 🇬🇧🏎🏎

Frooby groovy cafe eatery

By Deuteronomy-the-cat |

Relaxed place for breakfast. Cool chick punk inspired decor. Long live the rocky horror picture show.

Tasty vegan food

By Rachael Barz |

We tried to get into Bouldin the day before we actually got to eat and it was super packed with a 45 min waiting time! So we highly recommend “getting in line online” or going early morning like we did today (where we still had a 10 min wait) The staff were friendly, the coffee was some of the best we have had since moving to Texas from Aus.. I had the renadict with tofu scramble and it was deeeelish! My husband had the wanna BLT which he said was good but didn’t blow him away... highly recommend for vegans and veggos!

Amazing food!

By cmarthabp |

We are not vegetarians! The food, it’s delicious & tasty, everyone is very friendly 😃 make reservations, it’s a busy place!

One of our best meals ever!

By Bontrot |

My wife and I are flexitarians but lean strongly towards vegetarian. We were in Austin for a wedding and had been served meat and more conventional Texas food. We knew we wanted vegetarian and chose Bouldin Creek because of the reviews. Our meal was one of the best ever with great combinations of flavors and textures. It was served quickly and hot. Wait staff was excellent. Pretty cool atmosphere too. We copied the menu on line and are now fixing similar delicious dishes! Go to Bouldin!

Amazing

By utmd |

Not that this place needs any more 5 star reviews. It is rare that a vegetarian restaurant to have the flavors and exceptional quality here. The tofu scrambles... We aren't used to these kind of choices. The zucchini migas and the potato leek omelette (both ordered as a scrambled tofu and no egg) were both fantastic. The grilled cheese, although well made, wasnt as remarkable as the other dishes. Our server Chloe was great and is responsible for the great recommendations. The peanut butter cup dessert was just amazing. One of the best meals I've had in recent memory.

Great Vegetarian restaurant.

By Naga Venkata Pradeep Namburi |

This is a great restaurant with great service. We liked that there are dairy/egg alternatives. Their tofu scramble also is very tasty.

One of the top Vegetarian places in Austin

By ksprott |

Consistently a great place to eat and a good place to get a taste of the Keep Austin Weird vibe. We've been eating here for years and never had anything we didn't enjoy. My favorite is the Renedict (available until 2 or 'til it lasts). There is often a wait but you can sit in the bar area and order from the full menu. Beer, wine, and dogs can sit on the covered patio.

So many options!

By bmerry79 |

The place is busy, but the service is good. I enjoyed the variety of vegan options. The breakfast tacos and eggs renedict were amazing. We ate there twice.

Good if you like vegetarian

By Becky D |

my in-laws wanted vegetarian - i was a little skeptical. But the food was good. Skyler B was our server and he was good. We didn't have to wait very long for our food to be prepared. We had Fajitas Italianas, 2 Farmers Plates, the bouldin omelet hash and avo mash. Something i had was mashed sweet potatoes in it - it was a little different. We also got the marzipan cookies for dessert. Can't say i'd go there again - but my in-laws definitely will.

Excellent Neighborhood Gem!

By Grovean |

Loved finding plant-based options in a small neighborhood eatery. The staff were friendly and very accommodating to our request for plant-based options.

Seasonal menu with great flavors

By Brandi Clark B |

The hardest part of today's visit was choosing between their seasonal specials - Ruby Reuben, Autumn Harvest Bowl, Heavenly Tacos (or something like that.) I opted forthe Harvest Bowl and it was both flavorful and filling, (though the squash was a little chewy and I felt like I had quinoa between every one of my teeth). Getting there at 11:45 had me be the last in the door before the wait list started. Note, they don't seat incomplete parties so be sure you coordinate your arrivals accurately. Though if you had to wait the bar generally has a seat you can grab and they have pleasant natural areas to roam or sit outside.

Wonderful vegan breakfast

By Dimitrivaz |

If you want an incredible tasty vegetarian breakfast, Bouldin can’t be beat! Everything was so yummy, perfectly seasoned and not once did I feel deprived by the lack of bacon or eggs. Expand your palate and eat healthy at the same time.

Veggie Goodness

By Sharon C |

As non-meat eaters, my husband and I sometime have difficulty finding places to eat when we travel, but not in Austin. With so many good choices for plant-based restaurants, we had a hard time picking a place for lunch, but finally decided on Bouldin Creek Cafe. Upon check in with the hostess we were told there was a 45 minutes wait. Normally, I would have went somewhere else, but it was a nice day and there were chairs and water outside to make the wait a little easier. When we were finally seated, our server was friendly and smiling and quickly took our order. The wait for our food was a little ling, but not to the point of irritation. The food was delicious. I got the leek and potato omelet with rye toast and tomatoes and my husband got the South Austin Stir Fry. The rye toast was some of the best I have ever had - thick, buttery, crispy slices. Overall, this was a great meal in a pleasant (even if very busy) environment.

Nice but crowded

By Manarola3 |

Atmosphere is typical of a coffee cafe but the food is quite good. It’s relatively small (cozy) with limited parking. Best to go at off-times.

Eclectic and Amazing Vegan/Vegetarian Food

By Dara Brietzke |

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Almost everything on the menu is or can be made vegan which is awesome. I had the Tamale plate with tofu and refried beans. My husband had the El Tipico with tofu and refried beans. We also shared the Spicy Pesto Plate. All the food was fantastic and so fresh. The beans were some of the best I’ve ever had and my tamales were so simple yet amazing. On top of the great food this place has such a cool and eclectic atmosphere, and great service. I could have eaten here everyday we were in Austin and will definitely return on our next trip!

Excellent food!

By Carolyn W |

The food was fantastic! Great options for both food and drink with nice outdoor seating. Tamales were unique and prepared quite nicely. Highly recommend

family friendly

By Lucia V |

We came here for Breakfast, super delicious. Our kids had bread with nutella and my husband and I , omelette and renedicts. It is vegan, we are not, but we loved it. Very tasty food!! Recomended for vegans and non-vegans! Vegan Blueberry Cornbread is on the picture.

Fantastic Vegetarian Options!

By Ariane K |

Though we do eat meat, we choose vegetarian when there are as many appealing veggie options as there are at Bouldin Creek Cafe! We wanted a light, healthy dinner so I had the Buddha Bowl and my husband had the veggie burger. Both were delicious! Loved the atmosphere and art, and the service was excellent.

Austin morning meal spot in neighborhood

By redrider52 |

Had a great breakfast here. I had the tofu scramble with refried black beans. After wiping the last morsels of food off the plate with the corn tortilla, I told the waitress it wasn’t very good. She said the cook would be fired. Haha. Good sense of humor. Great place to absorb the Austin vibe. “Keep Austin Weird”

You don't have to be a vegetarian to love it!

By Cat T |

When visiting Austin last year we went here. The food was so great I just had to return. We were not disappointed. The food, the atmosphere and the service was fantastic. I had the Renedict, which for someone who is lactose intolerant is perfect. My husband trying to be good had the oatmeal, but he shared mine. The coffee is good to. If we come back to Austin will definitely return. Excuse the picture, I had to take a bite.

Just what I wanted!!! Vegetarian everything!

By Cathrab28 |

Traveling for work and I was really tired and hungry and wanted to have a healthy meal. Being in Texas it is difficult being a vegetarian so I was pleased when I stumbled across this place. Excellent service! Really good food and tons of options. Outside and inside seating though it was way to warm for me to sit outside. I did take dessert to go and it hit the spot. Blueberry lavender vegan pie! Loved it!

All Day Breakfast

By Sfio77 |

One of my favourite places for brunch in Austin. On my last trip, I went for dinner which was also nice. No need to wait for a table if your solo-just head straight to the bar.

Inside out Omelets

By iTraveltheworld195 |

We came here for breakfast before heading on out of town. This is truly a vegetarian/vegan establishment. We came for the breakfast tacos but I got distracted by the omelettes and pastries. I ended up ordering the house omelette. Comes with cheddar-jack cheese, spinach, garlic, onion and mushrooms but, BIG SURPRISE, the spinach is on the outside! This was an amazing epiphany for me. By putting the spinach on the outside it dries up and doesn't lead to a soggy mess. Not sure I could duplicate it on my own but I sure did love it! Both my daughter and I noticed the very enticing pastries on the way in. We each got one of the over sized cookies for the road. All the food here was very good! Service was good and we had no complaints. They do have their own parking lot which was convenient.

Just delightful

By Caf80 |

Was hoping for something interesting and flavorful... and I got it. The chipotle pesto on my omelette was delicious. Even the sourdough bread was a treat. Thick cut and fresh.

Happy Hour is a must!

By Amanda K |

The food matching the atmosphere! Vegan options were amazing! I recommend the veg burger with avocado!!! If you're feeling extra, grab the nachos and use your leftover cheese on your chips! Can't beat the price for a glass of wine on happy hour either!!!

Great Vegetarian Fare

By marionikken |

Always a good bet going to Bouldin Creek Cafe. Service is pleasant, food is delicious and healthy and they are open later than most traditional restaurants. Well priced.

Excellent brunch. We had the

By rudy t |

Excellent brunch. We had the blueberry cornbread which was wonderful. It does not need the syrup its so good. The smokey joe omelet was even better. I could not believe brunch could be this good. Will go back if we are in town again

Vegan/non vegan

By mmagallon26 |

This is one of the few restaurants that understand that not all customers are vegan and nonvegan, and everybody can eat together. Food - both vegan and non vegan - is great, and is located on South First close to all other great restaurants and cafes. Fully recommended. Another great Austin place to eat!

Will definitely be back!

By HuttoKaty |

The quaint “Austiny” restaurant was perfect for the Vegan and non-Vegan relatives. Everyone enjoyed!

Very Vegan-Friendly

I just came back from Austin and I'm in love. Bouldin Creek Café was one of the reasons. I ordered orange juice and the Wanna B.L.T.A. (with added vegan American cheese) and I had a side of chips and salsa. The sandwich also came with pickles on the side. Everything was so good! I really wanted the blueberry cornbread, but I was just too full and satisfied to eat anything else. I guess that gives me a reason to go back.

Yes!

Great service and food. I sat at the bar and ate the Veggie Royal w slaw two nights of my stay in Austin.I didn't try anything else because it was that good, I wish I would have figured out to go here earlier in my visit. The bartender was very helpful with the menu and remembered my order from the day before. Excellent vegan food. Can't wait to go back.

Great fresh food. Worth the wait!

By Gregory C |

I am not vegan or vegetarian but loved our food. Fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back

Fun cafe

By BeastiePV |

Wide selection of breakfast dishes for us this morning, very much on the healthy side too. One member of our party would have preferred pancakes and meat, but hey, this isn’t that kind of place. Good service, inside and outside seating — inside is more quiet and protected from traffic noise.

Vegan Bacon

By Hannah K |

Oh my goodness the vegan bacon is amazing. I had the tofu scramble with the vegan bacon and it was phenomenal. The portions are huge, we could have shared. The veggie burger is unlike anything else I've tried but I suggest getting anything with the bacon.

Bbq place

By Serghei F |

Was really satisfied with the bbq options and service, great place to visit with friends, all meat was fresh and cooked to perfection, definitely will visit again, on my next trip to Ausit

Best vegan/vegetarian place in Austin

By Lara Reznik |

Great brunch choices, omelets, tofu, potatoes cakes home baked breads, delicious desserts. Location on first street where many bring their pets to dine outside.

Great veggie food

By SDS769 |

When visiting TX you sometimes need a reprieve from all of the beef. Stopped in for a leisurely lunch at Bouldin Creek Cafe. Pretty large place with outdoor seating. We didn't feel like waiting so took two seats at the counter. We thoroughly enjoyed the Massaman jackfruit curry and the roasted beet reuben sandwich (which was a special of the day). Service was attentive and I was pleased that they are part of the one fair wage so they add a 20% surcharge to all guest checks to give to the restaurant's staff. Was dismayed when our server asked if me and my husband (I am Black and he is White) needed separate checks. I guess Texans don't understand that interracial marriage has been legal since 1967. Highly recommend the food though.

Fun atmosphere. Delicious food. Interesting artwork and comfortable environment, inside and on the patio. Don’t miss when you visit Austin!

I came with meat eating hunters

By Kathy S |

And they liked it! They asked for a sample of the veggie chorizo first...liked it so much they got the breakfast tacos with them. The other guy got a grilled cheese and a bagel with PB & a smoothie. The other 2 who are not vegetarians ordered the omlets which had the super yummy thin potato hash browns and cheese and tomatoes. The head hunter loved the cornmeal blueberry bread so much he had us all taste it! Hibiscus Raspberry iced tea was also good

Central Austin eatery

By Lynn S |

Fair priced for this area, I suppose, though a little much for my tastes. That 78704 area seems to think highly of themselves and is a bit higher priced. The food is okay - nothing special.

Excellent Vegan Food

By painter2008 |

. The menu items are very unique and delicious. Wow the selection is amazing. This is such a great people watching venue as well. Loved it. My favorite. I will be returning again and again as I visit my UT student!

Great friendly service, Fantastic food.

By JmnJeff |

Was hesitant about not having a meat for my breakfast, but the flavors of each item on our plates made up for not having our bacon. We were so happy we decided to cheat a little on our low carb diet and order the blueberry cornbread drizzled with maple syrup!! Omelets were crazy good! You got to do Bouldin Creek Cafe on your next visit to Austin.

Delicious veggie place with fun vibes

By SarahHinton13 |

I’m always a little scared when I order something vegan because I love my cheese, but honestly the flavours were so good I didn’t even miss the dairy! Fun place, definitely would go back again :)

Good vegan options

By MyHobbyIsTravel |

Quirky restaurant located just south of downtown. Outdoor seating options. A free book exchange. Service was friendly and quick. They don’t take reservations and our wait mid day on a Friday was 20 minutes. Our waitress said wait time on weekends could be over an hour. Food was delish. Lots of interesting vegan and vegetarian options, including daily specials, so that it was difficult to make a decision. We choose the jackfruit tacos, on special for the day, and the potato and leek omelet. Both so good that we plan to return for another meal on our two day trip to Austin.

Awesome vegetarian and vegan food!

By Chris T |

Love this place, great food and service. Many options from breakfast to dinner. Highly recommended!!

Would've eaten here three days in a row if we didn't have to fly home

By Nicole V |

As traveling vegans, sometimes breakfast can be rough. Everywhere is eggs eggs eggs. The Bouldin Creek Cafe was a VERY welcome suggestion from our near by AirBnB host. Not only can pretty much anything on their menu be made vegan, it is all SOOO tasty. Their tofu scramble isn't the same sad tumeric smothered crumble you often see- it's a hearty, well-spiced concoction that I think my husband and I will be trying to recreate until we can visit Austin again. They had good looking lunch and dinner options, too, which I would've loved to try. Oh, and if you're going for the tacos, listen to the server when they tell you 2 is a pretty substantial order. :-)

Great, even for vegan

By Keep_Austin_Beerd |

Not used to vegan food, but this place is great. I visited with a few friends, and we all agreed that it was really good food. Convenient location and great ambiance.

Best Tofu I’ve ever Eaten!

By Johnny ATX |

Usually it’s the Chinese that know how to do tofu, but this little cafe on South 1st takes the prize. Texture and taste are perfect!

Broccoli Tofu Salad! ❤️

By María G |

I’m always saying that even if you’re not plant-based, you should definitely try some of the many incredible meals that are, and this restaurant is proof of that. I had the “broccoli tofu salad”, and we also shared the sweet potato entrée—both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were incredible, and the portions were generous, which made the unbelievably low prices even more surprising. I also ordered a coffee, and it came in the biggest mug I’ve ever seen at a place like this. They served water, which I always appreciate since it’s not common where I’m from. Everything looked amazing. A fantastic experience overall!

Super cool vegan joint in ATX!

By Chris Ryan |

All Vegan cuisine in downtown Austin, TX! Food**** We got the following: South Austin Stir Fry (GF) $13.00 Rice noodles, broccoli, wild mushrooms, red onions, carrot coins & red/green cabbage stir-fried in a teriyaki ginger miso sauce. Topped with crushed peanuts & Yellowbird agave sriracha drizzle | Contains peanuts | Tarzen’s Big Salad (GF) $12.50 Marinated portobellos & stir-fried broccoli tossed in nutritional yeast served over organic spring mix, with avocado, carrots, sunflower sprouts, local tomatoes & sunflower seeds. dressed with chipotle–pecan pesto & ginger miso dressing Both were very good and lots of awesome flavors but the big salad was definitely the winner here. The yeast added a great flavor profile. Atmosphere**** Very hippie and cool! We liked the atmosphere as it has something for everyone straight, gay, family, etc. There is parking and it is wheelchair accessible. Lots of seating with private space. Service**** Great and friendly service. Be prepared to offer a tip plus a tip as they do a community pool on the tip they add to your card plus ask for additional but you can decline (we don’t recommend that as these people work hard and deserve more than just the community tip). Price $$ $ = under $10 a dish, $$ = under $15 a dish, $$$ = under 20 a dish, $$$$ = over $20 a dish Under $15 a dish

You Gotta Go Here!

By WolfFood05 |

We had the best breakfast ever! We had a quinoa bowl and an omelet and both were superb. Delightful spice combinations graced both dishes. We are not vegetarians and we didn’t miss the meat at all :)

BEWARE! Most expensive coffee in town - 20% mandatory tip!!

By Mike H |

BEWARE...this will be the most expensive coffee you ever get! This place was recommended by some friends of mine; so I brought four other friends with me on Sunday (06/16/2024) to get some coffees. After placing our order, I was told there was a MANDATORY TWENTY PERCENT TIP added to my order. There is nothing posted anywhere at this place to let you know this in advance. Since I was put on the spot with my guests right there, I went ahead and paid it rather than cancelling our order. But I then posted a review on Google to explain this to future customers, and the business owners replied to tell me this was a 'fair wage policy'. I call BS...WAGES are paid BY THE EMPLOYER to the employee, and by the customer ONLY in the form of the price you pay for the product! Our coffees ended up being almost $8.oo EACH. If this is what you want to charge for coffee, then put it in the up-front price...not as some sneaky, last-minute MANDATORY add-on tip. Oh, as of today, the business has also deleted my Google review, even though everything I said was honest, factual and non-belligerent.

Absolutely outstanding.

By Hugh M |

Absolutely outstanding. Visited with a friend and ate outside on the patio. Veggie burger was one of the best that I have ever tried - I recommend taking it with the pecan pesto! Salads were excellent. Great selection of local beer. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time before leaving Austin.

Hippie ambience, delicious vegan options, and friendly staff

By Sam |

I visited Bouldin Creek Cafe for dinner. The ambience was quite hippie and fun. The staff made me feel welcome and comfortable even though I was by myself in a place filled with groups and couples on Valentine's eve. Their vegan BBQ was yummy, flavorful, and spicy (on my request)! Love this place!

Delicious! Great choice for vegan/vegetarian/gluten free

By 4thdoug |

I’ve been here twice in the last two weeks, it’s wonderful. Everything is so fresh, blueberry cornbread is to die for! If you haven’t been, GO, you won’t be disappointed!

An Austin Vegan must-go

By Austin G |

Always a great experience. The bread and sauces used on their sandwiches are one of a kind. I was not disappointed. An Austin staple

Even carnivores will like it

By Jennifer B |

One vegan and one carnivore both thoroughly enjoyed lunch! The decor is a definite Austin vibe and the service was amazing. The vegan BLT and cashew cheese are both must try!

Great vegan food and ambiance!!

By Laura K |

My son and I were thrilled to have delicious vegan food here. The place has so many creative vegan choices we couldn't make up our minds! The ambiance is wonderful -- colorful, progressive, upbeat and beautifully decorated with lots of character. (too many vegan/vegetarian restaurants are rather bare with uncomfortable chairs -- but not this one!) Can't wait to return!

Fresh food every time

By littleredeft |

This veg/vegan place was right next door to where we stayed, so visited it twice. Really nice combinations and great fresh salads.

Great breakfast

By i2ibass |

Quick trip to Austin over the weekend, someone suggested this place so we gave it a try. Excellent breakfast, quick service, food was hot and fresh. Highly recommend it!

Breakfast for dinner - great!

By cbfbg |

I had the tamale breakfast for dinner and it was very good. Sweet potato tamales were excellent. I was with 4 others and we all enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was homey and eclectic and we had an enjoyable evening.

I don't care if you eat meat...

By good_ants |

...actually I do! So I highly, HIGHLY recommend that you visit 'Bouldin Creek Cafe'. They have everything in the right place, from delicious southern-style breakfasts and brunch, plus lunch & dinner (though we didn't try these) food, to a cool setting with some interesting art, to warm, fast service, and of course great drinks, both with/out alcohol. It's also in a very cool neighbourhood, easy to get to, and affordable, drawing us back twice in our six-day visit. Get there!

Delicious Vegan Breakfast

By Keith T |

We had a delicious breakfast and Bouldin Creek Cafe!! I had the Sweet Potato Tamale Breakfast and would order it again and again!! We're so happy to have found this incredible spot during our short stay in Austin!! When we return to Austin we we definitely return here for a sure thing good meal. Thanks to everyone at Bouldin Creek for giving us such a great experience!!

Walk in walk out

By scampanozzi |

This place is not even worth the hassle of parking that it presents. The food is very inconsistent. Normally I would not rip a place like this if I hadn’t been there more than twice. Extremely subpar in the service, if that’s even possible, is even worse. Don’t bother.

Excellent vegetarian spot, and I am not a vegetarian!

By Casey T |

Honestly I'd avoided going here b/c I am not a vegetarian - far from it. But we went here for breakfast one morning and it was fabulous. I had the vegan blueberry cornbread and it was amazing. I would 100% go back to try other menu items.

Best Vegetarian Restaurant

By momskier |

We went here for lunch and had a wonderful time, great atmosphere. We had and veggie burger and a grilled cheese. Both were excellent. Best grilled cheese ever. Whole bill with drinks only $26.

Vegetarian? (check) Vegan? (check) Carnivore? (it won't matter)

By Mandy H |

Bouldin Creek Cafe caters to vegetarians and vegans, but you won't miss the meat in any of the dishes. Take your time. Choose the potato-leek omelette, like my husband did, or try the House Omelette, like I did. The breads for toast are terrific, and give the vegan blueberry cornbread a go. So yummy.

WFPB Options!

By CobiLuci |

My husband and I follow a WFPBNO (whole food, plant based, no oil) way of eating and this restaurant had plenty of options to choose from. There probably was a little oil but it was minimal. We ate there twice - for dinner and then again for breakfast. The portions were large - I couldn't finish my meal either times! Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food! A big plus was that everyone was so friendly!

Amazing vegetarian Austin gem!

By Flyer707376 |

A server at another great restaurant in the city recommended this place to us based on our mixed group of vegetarians, vegans and omnivores. We loved it for brunch and ended up going back for dinner the next evening. We all ended up tasting each other's meals because everything was so great. Brunch options, salads, sandwiches, and full entrees for dinner. Comfort food with a healthier feel :) No meat but they do have eggs. Service was quick, I will be back to this restaurant next time I'm in Austin.

Great vegetarian cafe

By LJMK1 |

Old fashion Austin restaurant from when Austin, especially South Austin was "wierd". Many different choices from salads to egg dishes and vegetarian Mexican dishes.

Best Breakfast in Austin

By rpdmom |

Had the best omelette here! It was served with cinnamon apples in yogurt and toast. Enjoyed every bite! Would 100% eat here again, and I'm not vegetarian.

Argumentative - Poor Communication

By Benjamin Curtis D |

Before I even attempt to enjoy the food--- I was incredibly off-put by the ordering process and passive-agressive argumentative staff. Wasn't able to call and speak to a human being at all--- and when I arrived to pick up my food, the email instructions I received including no mention of pulling around to the back of the place and parking in a numbered space. I simply suggested adding that information to the email instructions. Instead of saying--- hey that's a good idea, I'll suggest it to my manager-- I got nothing but argumentative pushback. I am a life long vegetarian, and I've traveled around the world enjoying many dining experiences... this was by far the most difficult place to order from. And when I politely offered a suggestion, it was rejected and the staff threatened to "go get the manager to explain it to me" No thanks... Never again!

Best tofu scramble of all time!

By It’s meee |

I’m not even exaggerating, they have perfected tofu scramble. It’s so flavorful & the texture is wonderful (probably from a good amount of nutritional yeast!). The sweet potato and pecan tamales were off the charts good. Still dreaming of my breakfast there. Looking back, it was probably my favorite meal in Austin. Had I known that ahead of time, I would’ve gone twice. Super friendly service, too. Would love to go back and if I do, I’ll order the exact.same.thing...!! :)

Taxi driver yum

By Leenarino |

When hubby suggested this place, I thought to myself ugh vegan place. Boy was I surprised. A nice selection of plates for any meal. Caffeinated beverages and nice selection of teas. The farmers plate was amazing. Sweet potato tamales as good as any meat filled tamale. And the taxi driver.. hot chocolate brownie doused with espresso an topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.. everyone was making nummy noises. Highly recommend!!

Great atmosphere & very cool

By Rphilipe |

Very cool restaurant. Good fun environment and great food! The restaurant is very busy which is a very good sign. But we had no difficulty getting a table. It’s super chilled out and a really enjoyable experience.

Some of the best vegan/veggie brunch in town!

By hrc212 |

I'm not a vegan or a veggie but this brunch was by far one of the best I have had in Austin! Firstly, Bouldin Creek is a lovely place, great atmosphere, friendly staff and always buzzing with people (so be prepared for a wait.) The food is delicious, everything sounds so good on the menu it is so hard to choose and all my friends meals looked super tasty. I got the blueberry cornbread with scrambled eggs and it was honestly so good, I would have it again in a heartbeat. I had never had cornbread with maple syrup and blueberries but it was such a good combination and the eggs were cooked beautifully. I would recommend for all, even if you are a big meat eater like me, you will love this place!

Great breakfast spot

By Laura P |

I found this place based on another trip adviser review and I was not disappointed. I took two friends here for breakfast. Two of us got the potato leek omelette. Delicious! Service was good and food was delivered quickly. The place has that quirky Austin vibe to it. There’s a nice outdoor patio where we sat that allows dogs. But the traffic from the street was a little bit irritating. I would definitely come here again.

Great place for meat eaters and vegetarians

By Richard W |

This is a great place to go especially if you have vegans or vegetarians in your group. Its nice to have a restaurant that has great food and super service that no one group feels left out.

Awesome Breakfast Experience

By Bob N |

Excellent recipes and preparation. So good during our visit we had to keep coming back. Very moderately priced as well!

Always a great breakfast

By michaelsR3054QW |

One of my regular spots when I visit Austin. Great food, with plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. Great service.

Blueberry Bliss!!

By PcGuy80 |

I’ve never tasted anything as delicious as the blueberry cornbread. I also had a jalapeno cheese kolache with a vegan sausage substitute that was just like sausage. My wife had the blueberry muffin and sweet potato tamales. Everything was delicious and healthy. I’ll be going back next time I’m in town.

One of the best vegan restaurants in the ATX!

By Eric T "The Travelin' Texan" |

Its hard to complain about something that tastes so great once it hits your lips! The Bouldin Creek Cafe certainly was the surprise of my time in Austin! Now first, the slightly bad news- parking sucks here. Traditionally, this location had four parking spots at the old location across the street. Here, its slightly better with a handful in front on the street, and about a dozen or so within the back. Per the management, its easier to park on South 1st Street, or further along within the alley. Just be mindful of residential areas & other small businesses. The food- WOW! I had the misconception that most vegan restaurants had food that tasted really bland, and looked unappealing. Not here. The Joe's Smokin' Omelette had a good portion of spinach & cheese that cured any hunger pains, yet the homemade pesto was what really made the meal really exceptional. I mean, DAYUM! I wanted to take the pesto home and use it on my turkey & rye, as well as brush my teeth with it! That's how good it was. Bouldin Creek Cafe's signature staple may be the blueberry cornbread. Now anyone can make this, yet Bouldin does a good job in not making it as hard as a brick, and not soft as a marshmallow either. Its just right. Add in some butter and syrup, and you are about to have a delectable dessert as your dining experience at any time of day. Breakfast is available all day, and alcohol from beer & wine is served here as well. I'm uncertain if spirits are available, yet I wouldn't be surprised if they are. Customer service is really good with attentive (as well as attractive) servers that make insightful recommendations. FYI, this place stays busy nearly all the time, meaning that it is loud AF inside. There is outdoor seating available in a light mist, yet do you really want to eat outdoors during day hours in Texas? Its up to you. The bathroom art is actually "interesting", yet this is what makes Austin unique. Welcome to some of Austin's best eating!

The veggie burger and the pesto are my favorite

By LoveTravel753153 |

I love this place so much! I feel like sometimes vegan/vegetarian food can leave something to be desired, but the dishes here are extremely flavorful and indulgent tasting. I especially love the veggie burger and the pesto it comes with, the texture and flavor are amazing! I also highly recommend the coffee and the blueberry cornbread.

Excellent vegan option

By efrenmunoz265 |

All the menu is very good for any meal. I like the atmosphere and the service. The waiter was very helpful explaining options or possible variations in some plates.

Lovely vegetarian lunch

By EDD |

We had been recommended to visit and really glad we did. There is parking available across the street. There was a 45 minute wait for a table unless we were willing to eat at the bar. We chose the bar! Staff were lovely, friendly and informative. We really enjoyed our lunch..best veggie lunch we had in Austin. Vegetarian or not, the food is great!

Not a vegetarian or vegan and I loved this place for breakfast

By BLDTraveler |

Had breakfast here many years ago and it is still fabulous. Not hard to find, just a couple blocks off So. Congress and worth the trip. My GF had the migas with tofu and they were amazing. I had the Brenedict with eggs and it was great. The tofu bacon was a little different, but taken as a bite with the the other ingredients, it was fine. By itself, not so much for my taste. A little too smoky and sweet. But hey, they are trying to make bacon out of tofu so somethings gotta give. We also ordered a piece of the blueberry cornbread and it was just amazing. Coffee good and very friendly service in a funky Austin location. Would certainly eat here again.

Great omelette...

By John Cooper |

It is a crowded place. You should go early or wait. Their omelettes are really delicious and healthy. Definitely recommended...

Very flavorful and yummy! Cool vibe too!

By Kris M |

Went to Bouldin Creek Cafe strictly based on TripAdvisor reviews. Not disappointed! We looped around a couple times before we found parking, as it’s located in a busy area with cool homes, restaurants and shops. There’s a cool vibe with singles, couples, friends and families. Lots to look at with art, stickers, etc. great patio dining, but it’s still hot, so we chose inside. I had a noodle Thai bowl with vegetables and peanut sauce. I would’ve preferred it to be a ho dish instead of cold, but great flavors! My friend had a spinach cheese omelet with pecan pesto and decried black beans and he loved it! This is a vegetarian restaurant that boasts flavor! Everyone’s dish around us looked good! They serve beer, wine, mimosas, as well as tea, coffee and sodas.

Dog Friendly Restaurant for Plant Based Eaters

By Holly W |

Visiting from out of town and found this restaurant off the SoCo area. Cute place that is dog friendly on the patio. Both of our meals were wonderful and plenty to eat. We also tried the Blueberry Cornbread for desert. Left so full I could hardly sleep that night.

Vegetarian and good

By Timothy K |

This is a very informal place with cleverly designed vegetarian dishes. We enjoyed both of ours, which as I recall were an enchilada plate and italian fajitas. Service was friendly but not fast. Open late, seemed to have breakfast late but we did not test that

Best vegetarian cafe

By Paula P |

I can't tell you how much I love this place. Great food and coffee. I especially like their chai tea with almond milk. My go to meal is the potato and leek omelet. If you haven't visited before or you are visiting our lovely city, you gotta go.

Neat

By waxandgold |

Fun little vegetarian cafe in a beautiful part of Austin. The food is full of flavor and doesn't leave you in a coma. If you are on the south side, definitely poke your head in to see if you can grab table or sit at the bar. There are plenty of fun things to do within walking distance after you grab lunch.

Lunch with friends.

By Bengelke41 |

Was pleasantly surprise as to how great the Food tasted. Had a Ruben sandwich with shredded beets but flavor tasted like a regular Ruben with meat. Have already been back a second time and plan to go again. Great place.

Best of class

By ken s |

I ordered their veggie burger - sandwich, which was quite delicious. The ciabatta bread was a great foundation. The basil aioli was a very tasty addition. So..”burger” might not do it justice. It’s a excellent meal. Oh ... the chips and salsa were a winner too.

Vegan Goodness!

By Liz n |

This was a great find! The tofu breakfast scramble with tamales was so awesome! I went back two days later and go it again with a side of collard greens (YUM!). Try the vegan peanut butter cup (it's like Reeses but more decadent!) and the Vegan Whoopie cookie. So so good. The staff were amazing--super friendly and helpful and remembered me from my first visit 2 days before. Awesome.

Cool place for breakfast

By Mistoffelees_the_cat |

This is a fun place for breakfast - great food and very attentive servers. Unlimited coffee - they even give you coffee to go!

So hard to choose! Breakfast all day!

By Juliana C |

Their Wanna BLT still has my heart but on a recent visit we had the breakfast scramwich and now I have to choose - so good fresh or even left over! I’m vegan so I love that anything I find on their menu can be made vegan, and you can’t go wrong with any of it! Don’t miss their fire sauce! And their tofu scramble is amazing, I need to figure out how to come close to it on my own since I can’t get back to my hometown as much as I’d like!

Vegetarian Done Right

By Ashley A |

I am honestly a picky eater, and trying to be vegetarian sometimes complicates that, but this was some of the best vegetarian food I've had in a while. It was seasoned well and cooked to excellence. I tried some of my friends' dishes and I didn't find one thing I did not like. My only suggestion is to plan ahead for parking because their lot seems to get full and tight very quickly.

Interesting, not delicious.

By TypicalRiceGirl |

Vegetarian doesn't have to mean earnest but I would say the food here, while good and healthy, is not bright with color or flavor. I had Fajitas Italianas, with roasted portobellos - I ate it all but was not delighted. I like the atmosphere - Austin for sure. I will definitely go back again and again, partly because my friends love it. Service is relaxed so if you need an hour for girl talk you can do that.

Consistently excellent, fabulously funky

By Shelagh Q |

This was not my first visit, and certainly not my last. This charming little venue dishes up some of the most inventive and delicious vegetarian fare ever. My omelette filled the plate, and the red and black bean side was a great, flavorful complement. My daughter had the sweet potato enchiladas which were equally yummy. The bowls are incredibly satisfying, the teas are wonderful, the service stellar, and the atmosphere super chill. At any time of day there is something to satisfy your appetite. Next time: dessert first.
