Reviews

We must have visited a different restaurant than the one described in earlier reviews.

By zaydont |

Everything about our experience was awful. The food left us feeling ill. They may be using Chinese bottled garlic and old frozen calamari. The Miami Spice menu provides small portions of bad food. Yes you have lots of choices but where is the advantage. The service was painfully slow. We were there for three hours. We do not recommend you go...still have a sour stomach.

Dinner to go

By Vladimir B |

Please ask for the "Churrasco" and the "Pork with Mushrooms" you won't regret it. They have a very good kitchen and a very good chef. A little bit on the pricey side.

Great place to eat!

By pmay2263 |

We eat here all the time and have never had a bad meal! Wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Food is so good! We had the fish, and pasta. This is one place you’ll never go wrong!

Great service, but hard to pay that much for pasta...

By FTL44 |

Our server was absolutely top notch. The food was nice, but in my opinion overall the place was overpriced. Spaghetti with tomato sauce can be delicious but there is something about paying through the nose for it which is a bit frustrating... The veal was excellent. Ambience was a little strange when we were there at dinnertime on a Saturday - seemed more like a bar than a restaurant almost, though not very busy. However the service was so friendly it swings this place to a four star in my view.

Great Place in a Good Location

By Sergio C |

This is a restaurant I come often, its menu is good and everything delicious. Keep in mind that it is more on the mid pricey side and that the parking has to be validated otherwise you will pay a lot in parking. It has specials and a great happy hour which I enjoy very often. The best is the Octopus try it!

Great service Great ambiance

By MsKass |

Wow 😮 from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Everything was on point and delicious. The service and the food are by far some of the greatest I have had. Christina knows from the moment I walk in what I need and boom 💥 it’s ordered and then delivered. I am very lucky to have an awesome restaurant and family around the corner for me! Happy hour is incredible for those who like deals.

Saved the best for last!

By Scott W |

After our holiday vacation to Miami (and just like last year), we visited this restaurant on our last night before returning home. Just as last year, the service was excellent and the food unsurpassed. Brasserie Brickell is on our long term list of restaurants for our future trips to this city. What a great find!

Lives up to expectations

By Andrew G |

A reliable neighbourhood brasserie in a special location. Seems to have lost its outdoor space. Good good large portions at reasonable prices. Excellent service from edgardo and Hector. Never disappointed.

Always delicious

By infn38 |

Been there at least 10 times. The food is always delicious, Chicken , churrasco, pasta and the desserts. Went to the place using the Miami Spice Menu, like all the portions but the flan, don’t get me wrong the flan was awesome but too thin for what I was expecting. Have outside tables and a nice list of wines. I do recommend the restaurant

By Pablo C |

A neighborhood restaurant, with excellent food. We ordered an octopus from the start, which was spectacular. They managed to keep it crunchy and tender on the outside. Then a very rich risotto. And all at a reasonable price. I recommend it

Great restaurant for steak, fish or pasta. Last time I've got the filet mignon, it was great. Nice place, nice staff. Try the mango cheesecake for dessert.

Lobster Raviolis

By Carlos L |

Service outstanding , I asked a kind of Raviolis filled with Lobster meat very tasty and perfect presented , my friend asked a risotto di mare , it was good but no perfect , however we got an excellent experience .

Very nice atmosphere and very good food at a good price

By Scott W |

Was there recently for an excellent business lunch. A bit off the beaten path for the Brickell crowd but still very busy. Bright, open modern decor at its best on a sunny Miami day. Also has outdoor seating. Enjoying above average quality pasta (try the Penne alla Vodka which my friend had, I had the tortellini). Both were large portions even though it was lunch. Above average service that was very attentive. The manager (I think) came by a few times to check on us. Can be a bit noisy but not unlike other Miami restaurants. Limited parking is available on the street or in the garage (they do validate). Will definitely return.

Inconsistent quality and sullen servers

By Pootle17 |

When I first visited this restaurant I had a decent experience. The octopus was very good and all our meals were enjoyed. We had an ok server so we thought we'd found a gem of a restaurant. But since returning to the restaurant two more times, on both of those occasions, the food was just ok. I would've given 3 stars because of the mediocre food, but many of the staff are really unpleasant. There are a couple of decent servers but mostly they are rude and surly, clearly not happy working there. Yet a tip is still expected. Could be a great restaurant with better management and hiring.

Great Service - Great Food

By amyandbri |

Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental one night pre-cruise and wanted someplace within walking distance. The Concierge recommended the Brasserie and indicated that there probably wouldn't be much of a wait, even on a Friday night. We were pleased that he was correct! The service was very good and the food even better. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

FYI The name changed

By rocketman51 |

This restaurant is no longer the Brasserie Brickell key. It is now called the Island Bistro. See reviews under the new name.

Delicious!

By tls41664 |

We had dinner here on a Thursday evening which was during a bad weather night. We sat outside under a canopy. We totally loved our meal and ambience. Our server, Desiree, was a delightful woman from Italy, she was wonderful. We started with a bottle of Chianti and an appetizer of Carpaccio. My husband ordered the Osso Buco served over Parmesan risotto, he loved it. I ordered the gnocchi and instead of the pomodoro sauce our server suggested the bolognese sauce. It was amazing and I would defiantly order that again. We also asked her the desert she recommenced and she said the guava soufflé. It took a little longer to prepare but so worth it. The soufflé was light, filled with guava and caramel and ice cream on top. My husband had espresso. The manager came over to talk with us and also offered a glass of port on the house for each of us. We totally enjoyed our evening. Such a nice location on Brickell Key.

Very good neighbourhood Italian restaurant in Brickell Key

By Jason W |

Good neigbourhood local restaurant on Brickell Key. Excellent and friendly service from host and manager who came over to the table just to say welcome. Excellent wait staff and assistants, nice atmosphere, food priced accordingly. Definitely a repeat neighbourhood spot. Completely opposite in everyway from River Yacht Club.

Hidden gem!

By RicoMaria |

While staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel on Burlingame Island, was looking for a restaurant close to the hotel, and other than the hotel restaurant MO, the Brasserie Brickell Key is not only the closest, but the best! This Italian restaurant looks unassuming from the street, but just a taste from their extensive menu, and you are transformed back to a small home style Italian restaurant. While there is lots to choose from, I believe any of their home made pastas are a must, they were unreal. Definitely worth a visit.

Your choice of casual or more formal dining

By 22club58 |

Walking into the quiet comfort of this restaurant from the construction chaos outside, one has the choice of the sit-at bar, a casual dining area to the left of the entrance and a more formal dining area on the right as one enters. But, we missed the smell of the sauce. My wife has a theory that the best Italian restaurants always have an aroma of the sauces. Nevertheless, the food here was way above average. The pulpo was a succulent presentation and the clams and mussels in white wine were cooked to perfection. Similarly, the pasta with vodka sauce was perfectly al dente. The staff were warm, hospitable and welcoming - especially to the number of regulars who patronized this local restaurant, the only one on the key. The Amarone was at a perfect temperature and the Amaro and espresso provided an excellent finish to a delightful dining experience.

Best food we had during our Brickell stay. Very friendly staff.

By Angela L |

Walked here on recommendation from the Mandarin Oriental staff and we were so glad we did! Quaint restaurant with nice atmosphere and very friendly attentive staff. My husband loved the octopus and we both had the Veal Scallopine Picatta. It was outstanding. Berries and cream dessert was the perfect finish for us. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Great food, atmosphere, service

By FairBucketList |

Thanks to the staff and amazing chefs it became a true celebration for us all. Really enjoyed lamb, seafood, pasta. Good selection of drinks too. Next visit I will be trying something new. The place is great to keep coming back. Tank you.

Quick bite

When I have a long busy day, it is my relief to go to Brasserie. Today Hector assisted me with my order of risotto di funghi. My meal was delicious and on point just before a night in.

Good location for Brickell Key residents

By Gatapatas G |

I was staying with a friend who lives in one of the condos on Brickell Key Florida. The key has a few restaurants which are within walking distance otherwise you need to cross the bridge to find a wider range of options. Consequently, I like the location of this place for an evening where you don't want to deal with traffic and want a quick walk to dinner. The place is decorated very nicely. The first evening we went they were preparing for a party of about 20 people who had not arrived yet. We were dinning early. We were underdressed (jeans and shirt) and felt a little out of place. Our waiter was a little curt, didn't mention the specials of the day and was distracted by the setting up of tables for the large group. I had salmon capriccio and fried calamari. My husband had a salmon dinner. The salmon capriccio was out of this world fabulous. It melted in my mouth like butter. It was so thinly sliced though that I wasn't sure if I had consumed an ounce. The fried calamari was tasteless so I didn't finish it. My husband enjoyed his salmon. I returned by myself another evening by myself. I had a different waiter who was much better. I was appropriately dressed and the service was much better. What this place has going for it is its location. I would recommend that they don't rely on that alone and evaluate their menu and pricing a little closer.

Excellent food, nice setting.

We went here for dinner. I really enjoyed my meal. The shrimp was served in a Chardonnay brine. I dont much like the fermented taste of alcohol but this was a good dish. The spinach salad was excellent. I had the lambchopa cooked medium. They were good hut I thought $52 was a bit much. My dining companion had a pasta dish which he enjoyed. I had the coconut flan for dessert and it was EXCELLENT. My dining companion did not like his mango cheesecake. I had a glass of iced tea and my comoanion had a margarita. With a 25% tip, it came up to $240. A little steep but I would definitely go back. Service was good too.

Cozy sweet restaurant that cares about quality

By Sameh e |

We stayed across the street at mandarin oriental so tried this restaurant after reading the positive reviews. Loved it and if it wasn't for the greed of trying other restaurants during our 5 night vacation I'd have gone back to it.

Great experience!!!!

By afranio b |

Excellent food and service. The price is very good. The space is elegant and comfortable. The location is especial at the Brickell key.

Service is great ... much better than before

By MsKass |

So Brasserie has opened up again after a brief hiatus of a few years. The other 2 restaurants did not do this location justice. I am VERY happy to have them back 🙌🏼🙏🏼👍🏼

Nice Italian Bistro

By FPAdventurer |

The food is delicious and the service is good. They need to update the menu because it has been the same for the last few years. Definitely try the octopus appetizer and the braised short rib pasta.

Nice food. Good service.

We were staying nearby and decided to give this restaurant a try rather than go into the middle of Miami for dinner. We both had pasta and enjoyed it very much. I particularly fancied having Lasagne and I was surprised it wasn't on the evening menu. However they do have it on the lunch menu and they were very happy to provide it. And very nice it was too! They did bring the wrong Penne pasta dish for my wife but she liked it anyway so no real problem.... particularly as they gave me a complimentary glass of chianti to compensate! Worth a visit.

Excellent Spaghetti

By Rudolf H |

The restaurant re-opened not too long ago. I was walking downtown and there was a lady with a sign. Parking can be an issue but, the restaurant does validate parking. It is a nice little spot for a quiet lunch or dinner. Excellent food and friendly staff. It has about the same price range as a topical outing at a Applebees.

Delicious food and very nice atmosphere

By Fefe_Lol |

The food at Brasserie was delicious. It is mostly an Italian restaurant so the pastas and meats were amazing. The atmosphere was very nice, it was not too loud but not too quiet.. The waiters were always waiting if you needed something. I will definitely come back again.

Lovely Dinner on Brickell Key

By The4Gs2014 |

We chose this restaurant because of its proximity to the Mandarin Oriental and were very pleased with it. We arrived in Miami late in the evening after a long flight. We did not find the Mandarin Oriental's main restaurant appealing and did not want to navigate the bridge over to Brickell, even though it's very close. Brasserie Brickell Key was just perfect. It's less than 5 minutes on foot from the Mandarin. The staff were friendly, the menu was very approachable (classic Italian dishes with a modern twist) and the service was great. It's a nice, casual atmosphere, too. We also appreciated that they had a nice selection of wines in all price ranges. Don't hesitate to go; it's great!

After dinner at the W we walked back to grab a desert and a nightcap at Brasserie... They are wonderful!

Out of this world!!

By Maria G |

Dinner last night was out of this world!! The polpo appetizer is the best in the world! Went there with a party of 8 people and all of us had such a great time. Every dish we ordered was outstanding. Very nice presentation as well. Modern decor and warm ambiance. We had the owner present, came to our table to ensure we were taken care of and also treated us for port wine after dinner. We live in the Gables and will definitely be back very soon.

Hidden gem

By Andrew G |

Hidden away walking distance from the mandarin. Very good italian food at reasonable prices. Wide menu good service. We were a big family group with children and a baby. They really looked after us.

Great as Usual!!!

The food was amazing and the service was above the rest. The waiter Luca is a very nice person that adds to the enjoyment of the restaurant. You cannot go wrong with anything you order.
