Much to love about this restaurant. The name, Bread & Butterfly, a reference from “Through The Looking-Glass” (Alice in Wonderland). The decor has an intimate, attractive, old world feel. Mr. Khaj P, the server, was awesome. He was friendly, helpful, attentive, and a good vocalist (he paid tribute to Otis Redding Jr. in song.) Delicious food. We recommend the Burrata, the Burger Americain with Pommes Frites, the Whole Roasted Chicken, and the sponge cake. The only thing we loved more than the food was Ms. Deb Bowman, the regular Friday night vocalist with a wonderful voice, and the trumpet and guitar playing musician, her musical partner, Ken. Bread & Butterfly provided us a delightful, feel good evening.

My wife and I went in early August with another couple. We are all experienced travelers and enjoy fine cuisine. We were attracted to Bread & Butterfly by the many excellent reviews. All four of us were deeply disappointed and would not go back. The menu was unappealing and the food was mediocre at best. I make a better chocolate mousse and thought theirs was a waste of calories and money. The service was equally mediocre. Overall this restaurant is over rated and over priced.

It really did feel like a Parisian cafe. It was crowded during the early afternoon and our party of three waited for 15 minutes for a table. The pastries looked amazing - will definitely be back to try those! The food was beautifully presented. I enjoyed my avocado toast wit a perfectly poached egg and side of crispy bacon. My friends enjoyed the burgers on brioche bread and pomme frites. One felt the onions were oversalted. I can't wait to return for dinner and wine or coffee and pastries!

The music was good, but not overpowering. The food was excellent Ave the cocktails were even better. Service was superior.

I love the food here. Simple fresh ingredients and no attitude unlike some in town breakfast places. They also have lunch and dinner, but I have only come here in the mornings. Highly recommend the radish, avocado, poached egg on sour dough toast. Delicious. So delicious that I had two servings today. Yum

Lovely atmospheric restaurant, small but appropriate brunch menu, excellent drinks and superb service.

This place is about as French as a French fry. The wait staff was fine, if a bit slow. The food is overpriced relative to the quality. Here's what happened: After we finished our food, we were sitting there finishing our drinks. A seating host came by and asked us to leave because there were people waiting for a table. Now we weren't sitting there studying or reading a newspaper; we weren't there camping out for the day. We were sitting there after finishing our substantial food order, talking while we finished our drinks. Restaurant staff in France might be rude, but I have never had anything like this request made to me in France. Indeed, I have never had a similar experience in a U.S. restaurant, even with the obsession of U.S. restaurant managers with profit and table turnover. Never, except here.

Sweet, sophisticated cafe vibe with very attentive servers. We went late for lunch and way to early for dinner but very much enjoyed the limited menu. Charcuterie board is small but tasty and the mushrooms were delicious. Chocolate croissant and coffee for a sweet treat hit the spot.

This was our first time dining at Bread and Butterfly. We had a gift card for the owner’s former dining sensation, CAKES and ALE, and the maitre’ de graciously said that we could use it at Bread and Butterfly. We were seated on the outside porch, with the doors open to the outdoors—cool, but not cold night. Service was exceptional. The waiter’s suggestions for entree choices were most helpful. We were served fresh, beautifully prepared entrees and we split a garden salad. Perfect portions and creative ingredients! We were thrilled Bread and Butterfly and will happily return!

A very nice cozy restaurant/cafe with a French flavor. We went here for an afternoon snack and coffee. We had a tasty tomato soup, cheese plate and marmalade cake that we shared, along with tea and coffee. All were delicious. The service was impeccable. Parking could be difficult, but well worth the short walk through this quaint shopping area.

Although I had eaten here before it had been a while. Met two colleagues and had a lovely lunch in a very civilized setting. It is not a large place and seating is fairly close together but not bad. The menu is very limited for lunch but the three of us found plenty of treats. I had a salad to start followed by the burger (slider size) with caramelized onions and spicy mustard. The slim cut fries were outstanding and the portions are light but just right. Topped off the meal with a nice hot cup of coffee. Lovely service and nice atmosphere but don't come here if you are really hungry.

My gosh, the food is extraordinary. We had the new addition of chicken salad on brioche toast with side salad that was heavenly. Perfectly seasoned with olive oil, pickled onion, radishes and tomato.. something so simple but so correct. I will be back and so will my friends.

Where to begin? I was dying to try Bread & Butterfly, a spot that most Atlantans rave over, especially for brunch. The avocado toast was paired with a sunny side up egg and a cucumber salad. The toast was bland and the cucumber salad was NOT good - it was extremely bitter. We also had horrible service. Our waiter was very friendly and talkative with the tables around us, but for some reason, that was not the case with us. While he spent an inordinate amount of time chatting with other tables, he barely gave us the time of day and was very rude and cold. After he took our order and finally brought our food, quite a long while after we ordered it, he never spoke to us again. We ended up having to track him down and ask for our check. We couldn't leave quick enough. Want to see even more delicious food? Follow @datethisplate on Instagram for more reviews and plates you will want to date!

I nice quiet place near Inman Park serving lite French cuisine. We had Quiche & Greens and one of us had an American Hamburger. I can't speak to the Hamburger but the Quiche was nice. The ambience was quite nice. I do wish they offered a variety of Quiches though.

We not only enjoyed our meal at Bread & Butterfly, but also had fun walking around the area both before and after our dinner. The service was excellent as was the food. Please note the menu is somewhat limited. We went on Tuesday night....the special was Steak Frites...excellent! The price for 2 was about $85 including 2 glasses of wine.

My first impression about Pancake wasnt good because the one I had at another place was dry, sweet and had no taste. So my friend ordered pancake here and I tasted it and OMG the PANCAKE here is the best so far. It was so soft, moisture, not sweet at all and the portion was big as well. I love it. I dont think i would go elsewhere to have pancake except for Bread & Butterfly.

I have been here multiple times for Weekend Brunch and have always been pleased with the food and the wait staff. Last night I went for dinner and felt like I was in a bistro in Paris. Charcuterie Board was excellent and Three Fromage plate was an excellent start and quite filling. We took the waiters advice and ordered two small plates, the wild mushrooms and the Beef Tartare were excellent. A bottle of Rose and all is well with the world

I had the Salmon and mushrooms for an appetizer. The mushrooms were designed to be split, but it was just me, so I had twice as many as expected. That's fine, because they were very good. The salmon was also nice. The real gem was the corn side dish. It does take a while to get the food. Also, the cookie was very nice. This was a quiet respite from the loud hipster neighborhood.

Had an amazing brunch at this cute restaurant reminiscent of a Parisian cafe. The space is quaint. Service was superior...friendly, accommodating, attentive even though they were quite busy. Brunch is served at 10:30 on weekends, pastries and coffee only prior to. Croissants were soft and buttery delicious. The Yorker with granola and fruit was perfect. But the star of the morning was the quiche served with salad..outstanding! Worth a visit..we plan to return many more times.

My husband and I dined at Bread & Butterfly on a Friday evening, bringing friends for their first visit. Why Friday evening? That’s when you’ll find musicians, Debra Bowman, vocalist extraordinaire, and Ken Gregory, trumpet and guitar player performing. When she sings, the notes are clear, the sound is smooth, and the emotion is present. He does a wonderful rendition of St. James Infirmary, and his playing of the trumpet it is a thing of beauty. The Hostess is welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is charming. The food is delicious (Highly recommend the Roast Chicken and Crab Fingers.). Khaj P., the Server, exudes warmth and charm. He joined Ms. Bowman and Mr. Gregory for a couple of Otis Redding songs, and his voice is a pleasure. Highly recommend dining at Bread & Butterfly, especially on Friday evenings when the musicians perform.

My boyfriend and I visited in early September, and it was a beautiful, sunny brunch. The decor, from the hanging plants, tiled floor, and cute dining sets were so adorable and unique. I ordered the Chai Latte (iced) and the tomato soup with the puff pastry, but from the looks of the small paper menu, I think it changed daily and by meal. The latte was very strong but really good, while the soup and pastry were delicious. Overall we loved the French feeling of this cafe and would definitely return.

Amazing food and service. Lattes and pastries yummy but really everything is delicious. Super nice wait staff. Took grandkids and they were so patient and helpful with them.

The atmosphere is quaint and perfect for a traveling business person wanting to grab breakfast or lunch. The quality of food is incredible, and I believe they change their menu often. The brunch on the weekends is so good, but make sure you get there around 9:30a, or else you will be waiting. This is located in a great area and neighborhood, parking is easy and there’s so much to do around it.

Nothing spectacular. Menu-- arrrrh. I was expecting more, things on the menu somewhat different, but not appetizing. Very claustrophobic. Lots of staff.

This is an excellent bistro-styled restaurant. Our food was absolutely delicious and exquisitely prepared. Our server (David H.) was charming, knowledgeable, and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Just back from our summer in France, we were curious to try out Bread and Butterfly. Glad we did. They really “get” the café/bistro concept. The menu is right on target. The food is excellent, with high quality ingredients. The service seems efficient (though we were there early on a week night). The wine list is well chosen and there are inexpensive wine options. Menu prices were reasonable given the high quality of the cuisine. What makes Bread and Butterfly stand out: fine-dining touches that new chef Brandon Bailey brings from his experience a star-restaurant Daniel in New York (and more recently Cakes and Ale Decatur). The shrimp in the remoulade starter are cooked to perfection, just barely done in the center. The smoked trout starter comes with cucumbers three ways, each bringing out a different “pop” with the trout. We will certainly be back to Bread and Butterfly.

Tried this place based on a reco found in Garden & Gun and it did not disappoint on a Wed evening for early dinner before the Nutcracker at Fox. Quiet, charming, nicely decorated, excellent service (but we didn't have much competition). Nice bonus was half off wine from 4-6. We tried one red and two whites, all French, and good. Spouse had a very good beet salad and my onion soup was thick, rich, cheesy, excellent. For main course, she had the moules frite which was a very generous serving. Mussels plump and tasty but frites were the star. I had a very good trout dish. Generous portion and nicely seasoned. We are from out of town but would visit again next time in the area.

Amazing coffee. Had breakfast on the side patio. Delicious, healthy and fresh. Must go to when you are Inman Park

Maybe it was an off day, or maybe they were understaffed but to the customer it doesn't matter. There were at least 4 tables wide open at Sunday brunch that weren't being sat yet we were told there was a 25 min wait that turned into a 35 minute wait. Tables still unoccupied. And now you may wonder how on earth did they get 4 stars from your disgruntled reviewer? Well that is because the food was outstanding. The tartine was out of this world. The shrimp remoulade was super tasty and the soft eggs with cold smoked trout was solid. Then there was dessert. A cake with honey and cigs that had the soft and delicate consistency of angel food cake. Crazy good and the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. Get the service right and get the 5 stars...and a line out the door.

This little French Cafe was a lovely stop. The staff was very friendly and helpful, explaining some of the menu items. After a lovely champagne cocktail, our party of three shared four lunch offerings including wonderful tomato soup with puff pastry, mussels, frites, and a scrumptious house specialty sandwich loaded with meats, cheese, caramelized onion and grain mustard. . . large enough to share! We also enjoyed a flight of house made cookies, which disappeared so fast, no time for a picture!

Read some of the reviews before deciding on this place when in the area for lunch. Three of us seated rather quickly and continued to feel rushed after that. Ordered the Tuna salad, fried potatoes and side salad and veggie ciabatta sandwich. One ice tea and one cookie to go. All servings small….tuna was good (he said) sandwich light on veggies and flavor, potatoes were fine. Thought $70 a bit stiff for what we got. Tables too close together and acoustics were a challenge. Won’t return when in the area. Expected more in the quality of food.

We were in town for the Americasmart market and this was a great escape for the craziness! It was like being transported to a Parisian cafe. It was only a 12 min uber from downtown.

We are long-time Cakes & Ale fans so four of us dined there on a weekday evening. The shisito peppers and spiced almonds started the evening well with excellent martinis and sazeracs. Three then ordered Steak & Frites and one Black Sea Bass. All our entrees were outstanding. The aioli with the frites was especially popular. The wine list is well chosen and easy to navigate and we selected a Côte de Rhone. Our server was excellent. The noise level is very low, even in the bar area, so conversation is possible without yelling - reminds me of France.

3 adults celebrating one's birthday. We sat inside and there was live music which was awesome, not too loud and very pleasant. Our waitress was attentive but not too much. I loved the food - the broccoli appetizer was terrific and the trout excellent. The other members had steak frites and cassoulet. Both were very good. I would recommend this restaurant to adults looking for a nice evening with entertainment.

This place is just what it says it is, a whimsical French bistro / cafe. The menu is not expansive, but maybe you want a few things done well instead of many things done so-so. We enjoyed the 3 cheese plate, served on a slice of log, with this and that, and thin crunchy bread. After, our party enjoyed the mussels, the omelet du jour, and the mushroom / onion French dip, and some frites. It was all very pleasant, nothing at all to complain about. It was the early afternoon, the sun and a nice breeze were streaming in through the doors and tall windows. Being there felt great. Service was quite nice. I can see a visit here being the nicest part of the day.

They offer lite bites all day. Good meals as well. Try the raspberry cake! They have a grey vibe on the dog friendly patio.

Bread & Butterfly is a distinct gem for brunch in Atlanta. Trying it out, was a special experience with an outstanding menu, great staff, and amazing ambiance. Portions were not overwhelming, and seating was cozy and intimate. I look forward to returning and sharing with others.

Thank you for hiring such a wonderful staff. Our server Kahje, was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Ruda, the coffee guru, she made our mocha's super fantastic. Our Shrimp remoulade was perfect. And it was such a sweet way to start our day.

We had a very jet-lagged brunch here. It was delicious. Our server was amazing & the lemon creme brulee was out of this world

One of my most visited places in Atlanta, B&B holds dear to my heart as the venue of my graduation meal. As I shared one of my last meals in the States, with friends and family, I got to reminisce the other times I had visited them for coffee or dinner and never failed to leave with a smile on my face. Whether it is to practice your french, or simply rehearse a Parisian cafe visit, here in the city, I'd recommend you to go here!

Recently had lunch with a colleague and he chose Bread & Butterfly. It is a cafe/bistro with a French theme and limited menu. There were lots of ladies dining and drinking wine so it appears to be popular with women. The burger was petite and excellent. Covered with cheese and a small bun this was the perfect sized burger. The coffee was good and the cafe atmosphere was charming. If you are in this part of town (Inman Park) you might give this place a try. It is also open for breakfast.

Party of Five had 12:30pm reservations. We finally got a table at 1:10pm! The trout dish was minuscule and tasteless; and which chef came up with the meatless French dip should hang up his/her apron! $50 spent at the bar waiting, and $130 for lunch! Service was ok. Too many other options.

We had a lovely brunch there. It was a hot summer morning, so we opted for inside. Suggestion is to get there right at 10:30 when they open for brunch as it got crowded quickly. The restaurant is small, but has a nice patio and a glassed in place that they can open fully on nice days. The food was delicious, but the service was - confused. They didn't seem to have their act together, like they were overwhelmed with the brunch. The menu is small with only a few items, but varied enough. Don't go expecting bacon and eggs. I had the avocado and radish with poached egg. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was avocado toast with a poached egg on top with salad on the side with a few radishes. The avocado was delicious, but the crusts on the French bread was so tough that a steak knife would have helped, but it was so good I didn't really mind. Pancakes were simple - no embellishments, but delicious. My husband did ask for them to specially cook a fried egg, which they did - perfectly crispy and so good that I think it would make a nice addition to the menu. For some reason I felt like the kitchen has a tough time handling anything more than a few items. I'm not complaining in the least. In fact it was rather nice not to have a menu so overwhelming, and you felt like whatever they did was going to be special. And it was. As I've said, I think the down side was the service. Asking for anything seemed to bring on a sigh, I'm sure because it was so busy, but either they need more wait staff or take out a table or two. Service is too important. There are tons of places to have brunch in Atlanta, and many of them just as good. This is odd. We asked for salt and pepper. They brought it - looking at us like we had asked for something unusual, but after just a few minutes they came to claim the pepper saying they only had one pepper mill in the restaurant. Seriously, one?! Anyway, I still recommend it. And the desserts and pastries looked amazing.

Grabbed dinner with a friend at an outdoor table and had an AMAZING experience! Servers were extremely attentive and our waiter was excellent. We got the Fromage and an order of Almonds to start off, both were SO tasty! The Croque Monsieur was very nice, lots of good flavors and creamy cheesey goodness! I also got a South Side cocktail, which was so refreshing and delicious. I'd give our overall experience two thumbs up! Also, there's a driveway for a public parking deck right beyond the restaurant if you can't find a spot on the street- just FYI!

This is a cafe-it is not trying to be a restaurant. Limited menu but all the items my party ordered were all delicious. It was my second time to visit and both times I found the atmosphere, food, and service to be outstanding.

I really enjoyed sitting on the glass porch and having a glass of wine. It is such a cute French style restaurant that offers a quiet porch complete with hanging ferns and beautiful decor. The wine list was good and the staff friendly.

great spot near Inman park (?)...had the croquettes madame breakfast sandwich for lunch and it was great...price was ok but relaxed atmosphere and service was good

Probably the last thing you would expect to find on the menu, but GREAT burger! If you love burgers, don't miss this juicy and flavorful one served with crispy fries. My daughter had the charred sea bass and loved that - super small portion for $18. My son had the French Dip, disappointing at best; all bread and little beef - I think it was $16. Great location in the Inman Quarter and nice little outdoor seating area.

This is a very cute little spot with great choices for brunch. The croissant was fantastic, fresh flakey and warm. The pancake was also very light and fluffy. The ham sandwich was not what I expected. The baguette was very crusty and I could not bite it and it was just ham and pickles, very dry! Overall the place was great!

We Ate here for brunch. The very sweet hostess got us a table right away Our server Lindley was very inattentive And we even had to ask for coffee refills It appeared that we were a bother. We observed how friendly & kind she was to all the other patrons. She wasn’t rude just not helpful. The food was wonderful. And we would visit again

Parked on the street just around the corner, cutest neighborhood, forgot to ask if they had parking but was not an issue (just look at signs). Easy to find, indoor and outdoor seating, pleasant music, sunny faces to greet us and prompt waiter with a to-die-for smile (wish I had his beautiful teeth). Moving on, started with tea (they offer "Thes" I love) a variety to choose from for $3.50; Chamomille, Turmeric Ginger, Jade Cloud, Magrab Mint or English Breakfast. It comes individually bagged (they bag it themselves). I did traditional English Breakfast with milk and honey. Extra hot water was prompt. My husband got the coffee drip for $2.50, fresh cup when he needed it. For brunch I opted for the Avocado and Radish ($10) poached egg, on toast, the avocado is "mushed" up with lime and chile. Delicious, I should have asked for steak knife, the crust was a bit touch on the sour dough toast but so good! On the side was a small green salad with a few slices of radish and a perfect champagne dressing. My husband started with one of the Farmers Cheese for $7.00 (today's was from Vermont - like butter) and comes with two slices of toast, apricot preserves and granola. YUM! He then had the omelet of the day, which was a nice french herbs and a side green salad. I believe that was $10 (might have been $11). Was worth it. When we were done and all paid for, again prompt service, we walked in to use the restroom and saw the wonderful looking pastries! Glad I did not see those first or I never would have eaten my food! YES please ALL OF THOSE! Go, Enjoy! Relax and Feel Pampered! Oh and by the way, American, English and Frenchmen! YES!

Food was acceptable but nothing special. Cakes and Ale, a sister restaurant, is a much better option for dinner. Parking was easy by valet or by using self park in the Inman Quarter Parking garage attached to the complex. Street parking may be available but hard to find. The space is beautiful and has small areas that are distinctly different areas, and I like that. Some staff appear to know what's going on and some staff are scattered and need more training. This is actually my repeat visit after several months and I was hoping things would run better, but no luck.

I wanted to explore a part of town I wasn't familiar with, and this proved to be a perfect outing. Nice restaurant, great area, beautiful day. I've never been to France, but this is what I imagine a nice cafe in Paris would look like. Big windows bring in lots of light and take advantage of the corner location for great people watching. Dark green walls, wood-plank tile, stamped tile ceiling and appropriate cafe furniture make it feel authentic. The atmosphere was great, with lively music that was more American that I expected, but not too loud. There was good space so I didn't feel crowded. t did notice the tables range in size, which might be problematic if two people seated at one of the tiny ones order a big meal. I had the Avocado and Radish entree, Frites side and a latte. The entree was a slice of bread (maybe sourdough), with mashed avocado spread, a poached egg, and garnish of watermelon radish and kale. It was interesting to try. The Frites (french fries) were off-the-chart good and must be tried. The Latte was good. Pricing was moderate, at $25 including tip. Please not that they do not validate for the attached parking deck, so that is a few dollars more. After you eat, go explore the area. Inman Park was one of Atlanta's first suburbs, so there are all sorts of interesting houses to see. Walk up Elizabeth, turn right on Highland and walk 800 feet up to the Freedom Park. From there, you can turn left and head onto the super-hot Atlanta Beltline (with the skatepark just down the way). Turn right and walk along the Freedom Park Trail, and the Carter Center just down on the left. The ground around the Carter Center alone are worth exploring.

We dined here for one of our birthdays. What a delightful experience it was. The menu is not extensive but everything is done with care. I am a pushover for anything with mushrooms. So imagine my delight when presented with a main dish of grilled wild mushrooms. Heaven. The yellow grouper in parchment was a winner as well. Service was friendly and professional. Since we had birthday cake at home we had to skip dessert which was too bad as the baked goods case was outstanding. Think croissants the size of a soccer ball, multi layer cakes of all description and glorious tarts. This is a French bakery worth a visit just for the desserts accompanied by a cappuccino, of course. We’ll be there before the next birthday!

Bread and butterfly is a lovely restaurant. It feels like you're in France. The menu is limited. The options are delicious. I had the prosciutto with egg on toast. It came with a little salad on the side. fantastic!. Great amount of prosciutto. we sat in the covered porch area and the service was good.

Cute place, but sadly can’t speak to the quality of the food as we were basically asked to leave before we could order. I met a friend here for Sunday brunch who I hadn’t seen in at least 10 years and who had just lost her husband to a heart attack. We had fully intended on ordering brunch after we had gotten coffee and pastries at 10am since brunch doesn’t start being served until 10:30am. I should note I have also been in the restaurant industry and tend to tip more than the average person to begin with, but knew that we were not going to rush in and rush out, so I had also intended to tip the server extra money for allowing us a leisurely brunch. After he came over, literally 10-12 times to ask is what we wanted, and after we repeatedly said we were catching up and that we would be ordering, he then brought us 2 glasses of champagne and told us to enjoy our reunion, then the very next time he came over, he told us that he understood we were catching up, but that it was brunch time and it was getting busy so we needed to order something now. In 49 years, I have NEVER been treated like that in a restaurant. So just under the one hour mark of us arriving, having had coffee and pastries, we paid the check and left. I should have spoken to the manager when I was there, but I was really irritated and just wanted to get out of there. I even called when I got home and left a message on their voicemail asking for a return call to see if that is actually restaurant policy, but never received a call back. I love going to Paris and was excited to have a cute little French restaurant in my hometown, but unfortunately, I will not be going back here. I would have considered going again if they had just called me back. I can’t recommend this place based on my experience here. We then spent the next 4 hours at an establishment nearby having a proper catch up, where no one asked us to leave and was happy to take our money.

Visited early on a weeknight cause they dont take reservations. It really does feel like a nice little Paris bistro. We had small plates: outstanding oysters, OK charcuterie, a very good gratin, etc. Loved the food. What we didn't love: Our table for 2 was so small the dishes would not all fit on it. Constant juggling for us and the servers. We were brought the wrong bill when it came time to pay and I had to track the server down. The one he brought was for someone else and $50 less. We parked in the Inman Quarter garage adjacent, which I will never do again, due to strong dumpster smell and a malfunctioning exit gate that I finally had to get an attendant to fix, Those last 2 are not B&B's fault but they detract from the dining experience.

This has been a spot I’ve wanted to try for a while. We stopped in around 10:30 am on a Sunday. It was packed with just a few people waiting for tables. It did not seem the wait would be too long, but we opted to sit at the bar. The bar area is small only 5 seats but since two were open it was perfect. The place is charming. They have a small inside area and a nice patio as well. Very nicely decorated. They offer lots of macchiato, latte, cappuccino style drinks. We had a mocha and a macchiato and both were nice. They have various menus for different times of the day. The brunch menu is small. Perhaps 9 total items? I tried the omelet which that day was spinach and fetta. My wife opted for a chocolate croissant. The omelet was excellent. Too often omelets are a bit overcooked for my taste. This was not the case. I’m not a huge spinach or feta fan but the omelet itself made up for it. They also had some sauteed onions inside which were fantastic. The Chocolate croissant did not disappoint either. The eggs benedict looked excellent! We did not try the eggs benedict but a neighbor at the bar had it so we had a chance to see it. Overall I liked B&B. If we lived in the area I think we’d come more often. It’s a nice brunch/breakfast option.

This is a nice little bakery/cafe reminiscent of a Parisian street cafe. Nice location with easy parking in the adjacent garage, and we were quickly seated for Sunday brunch at about 10:30 without reservations, though the place did fill up as we were leaving about an hour later. There is both inside and outside seating and the decor is pleasant, bright, and interesting. The food was good, and we enjoyed the eggs and salmon, some pastry, lattes, coffee, and an interesting fruit and grain dish. The portions were somewhat small and there was quite a bit less salmon than you'd normally expect for this type of dish. The grain dish was interesting, but really quite a small portion - maybe my wife would have ordered a larger portion if it had been available or added something else if the waitress had mentioned the small serving size. It was moderately priced, but we'd have paid more to not be hungry or to have an extra bite to share. We found it a little frustrating that there were no condiments available on the tables. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but the eggs that three of us had were underseasoned and would have been more enjoyable with a bit of salt and pepper. In general, though, the food was acceptable - just not amazing - as it could have been with just a little more attention to detail. Our server was the only real downside to our visit, and waiting for a chance to get her attention was a real challenge. We were first asked about coffee, then, curiously, waited another 10 minutes or so for her to come for our food order, which also seemed to take quite a while to appear. After receiving our dishes, we wanted to order additional pastry items but she was nowhere to be found, and a second cup of coffee was nowhere on her radar. The service was curiously aloof, and the server somewhat detached, which made this lovely place just a little too frustrating for me to recommend very highly. I give it 4 stars for its potential. With a different waitress, slightly larger portions, and just a little more attention to the preparation, this could be a wonderful place for sure.

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday at 12:30. Our wait was just 15 minutes for the two of us. We got to sit in the sun room, the atmosphere was beautiful! We both started with lattes, delicious! They were strong, so if you like sweet coffee add sugar. I ordered the tomato soup with the puff pastry baked on top! That was our favorite item we ordered! So unique and tasty. I would go back just to get that! I also ordered a simple salad and fries for the table. My husband got the polenta. He had never tried polenta before and said it was good, but spicier then he expected. We had a great lunch and will go back the next time we are in Atlanta. The service was great too!

Bread and butterfly is outstanding. The chef, the service and the food make this an absolute “recommendation” for my out of town friends. A neighborhood favorite and a great place to visit time and time again. I’ve had a number of their items and specials. The bar is fantastic and really make a great cocktail. Not sure what to order? Just ask. The staff or the chef make great suggestions. Highly recommend.

I've been here for brunch and a late lunch. Service and food have been exceptional every time. Very relaxing place to sit and not feel rushed.

Not very vegetarian friendly. Called ahead of time to see if they could accommodate four hungry vegetarians for dinner. I was told they offer what vegetables were in season. Walked away with a large bill, and still hungry. We ordered the three salads (tiny little plate with leeks, cherry tomatoes, and etc.) more like a tiny appetizer then a salad. The cantaloupe & fig was basically cubed cantaloupe (bland not ripe) and bad fig. Very plain. The tomato soup ( $10.00) was a cup portion with puff pastry. Very good. Also, ordered the onion & mushroom french dip ($13.00), basically a sandwich. Hmmm, not a good selection for vegetarian's for dinner. There are plenty stylish restaurants in Atlanta offering better vegetarian options.

My son and I visited Bread & Butterfly for Sunday brunch on a rainy day in February. We were promptly seated at the bar, but many waited around fifteen minutes for a table. This is not at all an unreasonable wait for Sunday brunch in Atlanta. We were promptly offered menus and water at the bar and enjoyed watching the barista and bar tender work. I had a turmeric and ginger tea made with a hand tied teabag and my son had a cortado. The tea was wonderful...very flavorful. The cortado was average. The menu for brunch is not lengthy, but varied. I do not eat eggs and often feel there are few options, but this menu had plenty to please. I ordered the Shrimp Remoulade, my son ordered the egg and smoked trout and we decided to share the single pancake. The restaurant was very busy and we waited 20 to 30 minutes for our meal. However, second drinks were offered and the food was worth the wait! My shrimp dish consisted of large steamed fresh shrimp with a ton of flavor dressed in a spicy remoulade sauce full of creole mustard served on a bed of sliced avocado and greens. It was delicious! The smoked trout dish was a beautiful pile of softly scrambled eggs on a piece of brioche toast topped with smoked trout, creme fraiche, and capers. According to the egg eater it was lovely. Surprisingly, the star of the show was the single pancake. It comes to the table covered in a light soak of syrup and a pat of melted butter. The outside is crispy and buttery and the inside light and fluffy. Truly a perfect pancake! We finished off every bite of breakfast and could not resist taking one of the giant meringues home for a late afternoon snack. I can’t wait to go back for dinner!

My daughter and I enjoyed the burger and salad and specialty tea for lunch. Loved the French feeling. Convenient parking in the deck next door.

Had lunch with 3 co-workers. Food was very good and food server very helpful in explaining the different dishes (meatless French dip). Food portions are not large, but big enough. The restaurant is very small, with some outdoor seating. Wish I had saved room for the decadent looking desserts in the case!

Nice space, authentic French bistro/brasserie food. Very good service the evening I was there. I truly enjoyed the mussels.

This is a cute and reasonable facsimile of a French bistro—although I don’t think a proper Parisian version would mount a neon sign spelling out MERCI on its wall. Yet, I’ll forgive Billy Allin most anything. He and his wife Kristin also own Cakes & Ale in Decatur, one of the Metro areas first really good, really inventive restaurants. They also own the newer Proof Bakery, which supplies the bread and sweets here. Great bread! One thing I especially like about B&B is that it’s open all day long, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Sundays, “brunch” hours only.) It doesn’t close just when I’m feeling hungry for lunch or got a late start. But…parking can be a problem. We had to use the parking deck behind the new multi-purpose development in which B&B is located and it was a walk, plus money, obviously, for the parking. So many Atlanta restaurants provide it for free. A drawback is there are only 13 items available, including olives ($5), a cheese plate ($8), and shaved fennel ($8) and if you don’t like any of them you are out of luck. This happened to big-foodie friends of mine, who told me they left sorely disappointed. Too, some of those mainstays may be a bit too French, too trendy, or too pricey (well, all of them are expensive although the duck parmentier at $15 might be a good deal depending on how much food you get). Three Salads sounds adventurous and I like beets, but I’m not willing to risk $12 on liking the celery root and kohlrabi auvergne (that’s a French region as far as I know), lentils, and mushrooms. So I stuck with a tried-and-true omelette accompanied by a small portion of “mixed greens”—still pricey at $14 but a really delicious, just-right, “real” omelette. We lived in France and developed a great fondness for raclette so when my husband spied the potato and raclette gratin with frisée, lardon and sherry vinaigrette ($14), he knew what he was having. In France this is a communal feast consisting of assorted cold cuts, boiled red potatoes, and plates of raclette cheese, with each person melting his/her own slice of cheese in a centrally placed electric device that I now see is available here with U.S. plug and voltage (Amazon, Williams-Sonoma, Bloomingdale’s, even Target). Then we’d top the potatoes with the cheese and dig in. At B&B, the cheese and sliced potatoes were layered before cooking, and there were no cold cuts. Still, a hint of France and really good, but not a big enough portion if you are truly hungry. Still nostalgic, we both had a glass of Close Siguier, a red (Malbec) from Cahors, just south of where we used to live. Cahors is a nice but heavy, peasant-grade wine, and we could have bought three bottles for the $11 we paid per glass. Made me want to move back to the good (and cheap) life in France! But add in airfare and B&B ends up a bargain. I’ll be back, probably at dinnertime, and hope portions are large and filling on that duck, or the one-half roast chicken ($18), or the crispy flounder ($17). Or maybe I’ll come just to savor the bistro ambience.

Saw photos of this place online and had to go. Great staff service and choice to sit outside/inside - cute atmosphere and location in Inman Park. Food did not disappoint - loved their pancakes! Fun place to meet for brunch, but show up early for coffee/etc if you don't want to wait.

We (party of 2) got there at 11:30 on a Saturday and were seated right away! The majority of the tables are for 2 people, so be aware that there will be longer waits for larger parties. We got the pancakes, quiche and avocado toast because we thought that the portions would be smaller. They were actually decent sized portions, and in hindsight, we could’ve gotten just two entrees. The pancakes were absolutely delicious—covered in syrup and sweet. At $7 for 2 pancakes, it was a good deal. The quiche tasted like french onion soup. It was good, but I liked the avocado toast and pancakes better. The avocado toast with the sunny side up egg was also amazing. It was $14 though, which is expensive for avocado, a piece of bread and an egg. I know that the area is more expensive, but their margins would still be high if they only charged $10 for it. Clearly I still ordered it, but despite how good it was, I won’t be ordering it again. The coffee and cappuccino were below average. It was a cute little place. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

A group of colleagues and I had a nice "happy hour" visit here recently, post-work and pre-dinner. We were able to relax and enjoy some beer and wine along with food off of their "in-between" menu. The ambience is very "french bistro" and the room is full of natural light. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

I've been trying to eat at Bread and Butterfly for some time ! In the past they did not take reservations which meant you could always anticipate a long wait. That changed recently so hubby and I went with another couple for dinner ! The French menu was delicious! We were not disappointed with a single course ! The cocktails are also very delicious and the service was excellent! It is on the pricier side so keep that in mind, but all in all we can't wait to go back in the future !

The menu is not extensive although the restaurant has a good selection of dishes from appetizer to entree. The decor, atmosphere and service are excellent! The moules frites as just perfect as a daily special when we were there. Everything that came to our table were beautifully presented. Services were prompt and lovely.

The chef and owner should be aware that the snotty hostess and waiter detracted from the fairly decent food. There are so many other interesting restaurants in the area that I would not give this place a second chance.

During our 4 days in Atlanta we went to Bread&Butterfly based upon previous research of best places in Atlanta and it didn't disappoint. Americans living in Europe, this cafe truly felt like a European bistro BUT with even better food!

It is a short menu but with so many delicious choices it is still difficult to choose what to have at this busy weekend place. The waitstaff is wonderful too. If you have to wait for a table, know that it is so worth it to have brunch here.

Do you want authentic French cuisine? Then visit Chef Remi from Loire valley France. He has brought the his family recipes and his unique twists. The fois gra is perfect. The soups and sauces are made to perfection. The atmosphere takes you to an intimate bistro on a Paris street. You will not be disappointed. Rob

We went here for dinner, myself my husband and a group of our closest friends. We really enjoyed the French bistro style fare they were serving up. I had the Burger which was really good, it had swiss cheese, caramelized onions, mayo and mustard. Yum!

This probably deserves some qualification...but if you like French omelettes or exceptionally prepared quiches, this is my go-to breakfast place with family and friends. This restaurant is so very French. No clutter. Don't look for salt and pepper on the table; that would be an affront to the chef's ability to season your food! And the salad sizes and dressing are so very perfect with the eggs. Altogether a wonderful place and way to begin your mornings or interrupt them for a meal!

A friend of mine set a New Years Resolution of visiting an Atlanta restaurant starting with every letter of the alphabet but they all had to be new to him. That is how we stumbled upon Bread & Butterfly and it was such a pleasant find. Our waiter was the best server I've ever had. His descriptions of the food made your mouth water. Plus he was attentive and friendly but not overbearing. They accommodated our group of 6 very nicely and the wait after ordering wasn't long (although we were there during busy Sunday brunch). The food was DELICIOUS. Everyone in our group ordered something different and we were all blown away. This little French cafe is now one of my favorites for something small but yummy in a quaint setting.

I had the "avocado squash" aka the fancy form of smashed avocado toast ($10) as well as a soy latte ($5.25). The latte was a letdown, and the toast was just decent to me. Needless to say if I was craving the avocado toast this place would not immediately pop up in my mind. However, the staff was very friendly, my friend loved her chai latte, and overall the restaurant atmosphere is quaint and "brunch worthy". If you are looking to go to dinner, I noticed they have wine specials throughout the week! Also, the guy's french fries next to me looked absolutely amazing so give those a try...

FYI: Though they open "early" on Sunday, they don't serve anything from their actual menu until brunch officially starts. Thankfully they have an amazing almond croissant that could tide me over until actual food became available. The actual food, decent. We had a great omelette, (very much reminded me of omelettes in France) and a good avocado toast. But nothing really blew my socks off. But maybe I was just grumpy because I wanted breakfast an hour before I got it.

I love this restaurant. My husband and I have now been twice, and we feel transported to France with each visit! We look forward to Atlanta trips so we can visit Bread and Butterfly. The wine list is French and fabulous. The potatoes, breakfast sandwich, and green salad are delicious and highest quality ingredients . The tomato soup might have been the best we ever had. I lived in France and have traveled there many times, and this restaurant makes me feel like a taste of France. The owner studied at Chez Panisse under Alice Waters, and it shows. Make sure to visit here! And order the French 75 👍🏻

All the food was absolutely amazing! The Pancakes are as amazing as they look. The Onion and Mushroom French Dip was one of the best dips we have ever had. I really enjoyed the chocolate cake just wished it wasn't at room temperature. No complaints with the food just a little disappointed at the slow service.

I love their shisito peppers. My friend ordered a potato and raclette dish and it was phenomenal. Can't wait to return. Service is always good

Diane was excellent server..most helpful as we arrived before Brunch serving time starting at 10:30 AM...pastries available early..the sundried tomato & feta omelet was delicious...limited menu but really good...excellent pastries

The decor is classic bistro, the service efficient but at a French pace, the music eclectic, the food outstanding, the wines well chosen and the experience a must for Atlanta residents and visitors alike. Located in the trendy Inman Park neighborhood this smallish restaurant is nearby to the sophisticated shopping, urban living and restaurant vibe of Atlanta. Parking is either in a paid garage or fairly expensive valet both somewhat difficult to enter. Once parked the restaurant is a short walk past interesting shops and modern outdoor decor. Seating is indoor, enclosed patio or outdoor and is tight with tables for two decidedly small. We began with six Peters Point oysters served with sauce mignonette which were perfectly accompanied by our wine of the night the 2013 Faury St. Joseph Rhone from Kermit Lynch selections. Next came the smoked trout atop toasted brioche with fennel and a sweet cream sauce. This dish was small but flavorful and quickly devoured. Following the trout I enjoyed the tomato soup topped by puff pastry while my wife tried the Omelette du jour served along side mixed greens. The omelette was light dusted with a cheese topping and at perfect temperature. The puff pastry melted into the creamy tomato soup and I only wished the serving were larger. Finally we sated our sweet cravings with a Meyer lemon tart topped with whipped cream and a Linzer torte. Espresso was a tart offset to the sweet. There are so many great pastry choices that it was hard to choose. I want to come back for breakfast and lunch.

Wonderful stop, friendly service... only had time for a cup of coffee and a bite of pastry but it was absolutely perfection!

We had a delicious dinner at Bread & Butterfly, enjoying the classic brasserie dishes. We started off with marinated olives and moved on to the little gem salad, mussels, steak frites, scallops and burger. All good... They have a great wine list, primarily French, with some affordable selections. Try the cookies for dessert. Service was friendly, although stretched a little thin. Maybe understaffed that evening...

My wife and I ate here last weekend. It is a small bistro very similar to bistros in Paris. The flounder was excellent, the chicken good, not great. My only knock was the very limited cheese selection. Other than that, I will go back.

Although I love to visit Paris, this little bistro substitutes for the real thing. I've enjoyed eating both breakfast, lunch and dinner here( no, not all at one time). The wait staff are congenial, the design is just so perfectly French and the food just perfection. I was surprised how tasty soft-scrambled eggs could be. Jacques Pepin would approve. Although the menu is limited, whatever I have ordered, the fish en papillot for dinner, the fromage plate or the tuna at lunch.... All were truly satisfying.

Bread & Butterfly is a new French-style bistro from the owners of the much-lauded Cake & Ale in Decatur. B&B is located in Atlanta's Inman Park neighborhood, a dining hot spot as of late. I stopped by for breakfast last week. The place is small so I'm not surprised the server said there is generally a line out the door for the weekend brunch. I ordered the omelet of the day. It arrived perfectly cooked, so light and luscious on the outside and oozing with deliciousness within. The omelet was accompanied on the plate with salad greens, allowing me to walk out feeling I had a healthy breakfast. The waitress did not have natural server talent but was very cordial. Bread & Butterfly is worth a special trip, but arriving early for the weekend brunch, which opens at 10:30, is highly recommended.

Have recently eaten weekend brunch at this quaint location twice in mid morning. We were forewarned that this restaurant does not take reservations so we arrived early and were able to obtain a table for our party of 5. Both times we were served promptly yet without rush. The waiter's were consistently attentive to their service areas and courteous. The atmosphere reminds you of your visit to France with's it's cafe furnishings, decor, open air design and views of intown street life. There is also beautiful sunlight entering the cafe through the old growth trees of surrounding Inman park, Atlanta's first suburb. Best of all is the menu. The brunch menu is limited but with a nice variety. We enjoyed the tomato soup, avocado toast and pancakes with cappuccino and coffee. The portions were satisfying and the taste was fresh and flavorful. Of course, being French, the restaurant offer a limited but great pastry selection. The pastries and the breads were lusciously flaky and the scones were delicious, even the day after take home. Well done.

We went here for dinner with high expectations, and we loved it! This place combines amazing french flavors with great American service. Everything we ordered was very delicious, and our server was very helpful, attentive and nice from the moment we stepped in. Overall it was a great experience, and I'd highly recommend anyone to try it!

Reading about this restaurant with all it’s charm prompted me to call about dinner reservations. A woman named River answered the phone and I asked about the possibility of a reservation that night. She asked me to speak up so I did, repeating my question. She promptly replied “I can’t hear you” and hung up. The background noise at the restaurant was clearly the cause, because it was it was very loud. Hanging up was a poor solution. I’m happy that this cafe enjoys a good business. Clearly they do not need new customers.

Having been in Atlanta for business all week, I caught an Uber to Bread and Butterfly for lunch recently. It was a Saturday, and they seated me on the open-air terrace, where I could watch passersby going about their shopping. I selected the avocado toast, served with a perfectly poached egg on top. Delicious, delicious. A hot cup of coffee and a small baked dessert rounded out the meal. Service was friendly and prompt, and the ambience here is lovely. Worth a visit.

Popped into bread and butterfly last night for a late night espresso after eating nearby. The staff was charming and the espresso is fabulous

I was so incredibly excited to try this place because we live in the area and love to eat out frequently. We were hoping to find a new favorite place. When we arrived (party of 4) we were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We were happy to comply. After waiting 55 minutes and watching everyone who came after us get seated — literally watching the hostess break up 4 tops to seat parties of 2 or 3 that came after us -- we asked the hostess how much longer she lied to our face and said the people on the wait list were here before us. She couldn’t admit her error and basically dismissed us. Such a disappointment. Unfortunately for them we love to spend money at restaurants. There are so many other options in this area who actually have impeccable service.

A group of us (5 women) were sat by the hostess so we could order cocktails on a Saturday afternoon. We were ignored for almost 15 minutes with no attention, water service, etc. many servers, the hostess and bar tender all saw us sitting there with zero service, and still continued to not approach our table. I approached the hostess that no one has come to our table. She went to check. But still nothing. I asked again and she finally served us water at least, but still no order service. My friend was frustrated and went to go order at the bar but ran into that same hostess and she said someone would come to us. Still nothing for another 10 minutes. We essentially waited for 30 minutes with no service while all the waiters walked past our very central table. So we left. This was disappointing since it was our first time there! Needless to say, we will not be going back.

I was excited to go to this place. The ambiance inside is just adorable and loved the bar area. Our waiter came right up to us from the beginning and was very attentive. My husband ordered the Jambon and I had the tomato soup and quiche (things that shouldn't have taken forever). We got there a 2pm, so there was no line, not packed, etc. Two other couples came in after us and received their food before we did. The soup was just delicious. It was delivered hot and a delicious puff pastry was so yummy on top. Waited another 20 minutes for our main entree. The outside of my quiche was warm, but on the inside, it was cold. My husband's sandwich was fine, but it was nothing special. Our simple salads were lettuce and a vinaigrette... If you go, get the soup. Was super yummy. Be careful what else you order.

We had a mouthwatering, relaxing brunch at the popular Bread & Butterfly on Saturday. The French cafe is beautiful with lime-green wall tiles, small tables for intimate conversation, copper ceiling, & pastries in tempting full-view. The staff was welcoming, and never made us feel rushed. But the FOOD is the huge draw! Excellent choices at our table: the avocado toast, remained impeccably crisp under the green carpet of avocado & topped with poached egg perfection; accompanied with a delightfully light side squash & green salad. Those with quiche did not envy my avacado toast. The brioche toast w/butter & jam was incredible. Delicious pastries, Lattes, & Pimm's Cups added to the luxury. Do not miss this place!

We love Billy Allin's Cakes & Ale restaurant in Decatur -- we have been patrons there since they opened, but we were very disappointed in Bread & Butterfly. Two of us arrived there and asked for a table for four, and we were ready to start ordering while we waited for the other two in our party. We were told that they could not seat us until all four were on site. We thought that "our name was on the list" as we were the only ones waiting at that point in time, and we sat at the bar to order coffees while we waited. The hostess finally took our name after the four of us were there for the wait-list! I thought we were already on the list as we were standing a few feet in front the hostess at the bar. Another group of four were seated just before the hostess took our name -- we had already been there 30+ minutes by then. Throughout our wait, there were multiple two-people tables open (that could have been pulled together to make room for 4), and there was an empty four-person table with a "Reserved" sign on it for >1 hr before we were seated. Then, the Reserved four-person table was given to a couple who we overheard telling the same hostess that they will order once the rest of their party arrives. This is rude, unwelcoming, and not-good-business sense. Once we were finally seated, our waitress was sweet, and the food was good. But this was a horrid first impression and the terribly poor management will likely keep us from going to or recommending Bread & Butterfly.

While evacuated from Florida for the hurricane, we went for lunch here and almost left because of the small menu. We talked to the waiter and after he described the entrees, we were eager to try. My family of three had the French omelette, ham baguette, caramelized onion burger, and salads. They had French names, but I don't recall what they were. Our meals were absolutely delicious. It was by far the best omelette and the best burger we have ever had.

6 of us dined due to recommendation of locals. Steak & pomme frites were good as well as French onion soup. But mussels, trout, risotto and carrot salad was disappointing. Friendly service and live seasonal music saved the night.

The servers and managers have real attitude problems. They are rude, do not talk to customers and display a mean attitude. Always angry, snob style and patronizing customers. Such a shame that this great little french pastry has all the good food and great ambiance but not the right people to take care of its customers
wonderful service & great cuisine
Enjoyed the ambience of this little french restaurant while sipping wine on their enclosed porch. The food was delicious. I very much enjoyed the risotto. Small band with gentle tunes added the perfect touch. Staff was ridiculously professional and was greatly appreciated after a long day.
