We were in search of a quality deli that serves delicious pastrami sandwiches, and we found exactly what we were looking for here. Not only that, but their black and whites are absolutely fantastic. On a chilly winter's day, their hot soup is a comforting delight. You must also try their incredible cheese blintzes.

Delicious, legit, ample, timely, and worth it. Recommended favorite is the Black Pastrami. Soooo good!

Brent's is the best deli in L.A., hands down. I eat there with my family regularly. Last time I went to Brent's my son and I split a bowl of matzo ball soup, a corned beef on rye, and an order of fried kreplach. The matzo ball soup was wonderful and the broth was packed with noodles, chicken and carrots. It came with a plate of warm rye bread and butter. Awesome. The corned beef was stacked high on warm rye bread, just like I like it. And the fried kreplach was smothered with onions and brown gravy- fantastic. The restaurant is usually busy, regardless of the day of the week, but particularly so on the weekends. However, they are really good at getting you in and out. I can't recommend Brent's highly enough!

One word describes this place and it's delicious! Everything you order is good, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Best deli in the SFV, but expensive. Chicken soup is delicious and the bread is fantastic. My goto place for sandwiches

Great breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Corned Beef sandwiches are filled high with corned beef. Chicken Matza Ball soup is delicious and Eggs Benedict hits the spot for breakfast.

Absolutely love this restaurant. They have everything. Friendly and efficient staff. Generous portions. Breads/Deli/Bakery. This is our go to pace whenever we need to get some home cooking. Did I mention the soups. Enjoy.

Brent's is a solid deli that has been around for decades. You will always have a good meal there and the portions are huge. It is not nearly as good as Langer's but it is great for the Valley. Breakfast is a can't miss for the huge omelets.

Brent's Deli - both in the Valley and in Westlake Village - is always crowded. This is where the locals go when they want an authentic excellent deli experience.

West Hollywood has Canter's, Ventura Blvd. has Art's and Jerry's, and the north end of The Valley has Brent's Deli. It's the next best thing to eating authentic, homemade Jewish cuisine. The atmosphere is friendly and casual, the food is great, and the servings are more than ample. They have a nice selection of comfort food dishes as well as baked items, like cheesecake and the famed black/white cookies. The place gets backed on weekends during breakfast, so unless you want to wait for a table, go on an off time.

go-to place for comfort food. welcoming environment - lightning fast service - delicious food - great selection

I love Brent's! If you're a coffee lover, you would surely enjoy their great selection of coffee to match their desserts. The kids loved their waffles and sandwiches, too.

Never knew about this gem when we lived out here. One, if not, the best pastrami sandwich I have had. Definitely worth a visit. Fries were fantastic. Our son eat a huge burger and some both mine and my husband's meals. We will visit again when in town. We live in Colorado now.

This is the best deli west of New York City, they fly corn beef and pastrami from NYC to LA every morning. They buy the best quality of every food product, and service is typical NY deli

Desserts are still outrageous, including my favorite, the "black and whites". But it's so busy, especially on weekends, that the food has slipped into the "really good tourist food", but not the "great regulars food" category. Still, as close as you can get to the old "Carnegie" or 'Stage" delis in New York.

Good staff and quick service. Nice local hangout. Love their pastrami and roast beef sandwich. Soup is excellent!

I have been to Brents a few times and have to say its truly the best Ruben I have ever had, the rye bread so good and the black forest pastrami the best, if you really want to have a full great lunch Brents is the place.

Dear Brent’s, I’ve been a customer for 41 years and my family has been loyal for longer. What was demonstrated on Thursday 6/27/19 was not in comportment with your long standing tradition of excellent customer service. You have quoted my last review on Yelp where I mentioned that as good as the food is, the service is even better. This was not the case on my last visit. I was dining with my mother and partner. I ordered the turkey french dip, my mom got the Roumanian steak sandwich and my partner ordered steak and eggs. We have all ordered these items countless times. My turkey dip was flawless. Giant stacks of turkey, grilled onions, au jus and perfect steak fries(well done, the waitress knew what I wanted). The food was delivered and it looked great. My mom took a bite of her steak. My partner took a bite of his steak. Both reeled because of how salty it was. I took a bite of both. They both tasted like Morton’s salt block. It was salty beyond belief! We alerted the waitress about the saltiness. Renee explained that it was the marinade and we said it was still too salty. She offered that we should have it redone without marinade and she promptly took both steaks back for a redo. Not a big deal, but the salt level was truly beyond ingestion. We are now left with my meal and 2 people without meals. Not a big deal, but still not the greatest experience. The new steaks are returned and they are much better. They taste the way we are accustomed to ordering. When it rains, it pours it seems as my mom found the last ⅓ of her steak was totally undercooked. She ordered it medium rare, but this last ⅓ was Blue Rare. The steaks are almost a foot long. My mom had truly had it at this point: first steak tasted like a salt block and now this portion is raw. She spoke to the waitress and asked to speak to the manager about getting the meal comped. The waitress said that she would speak with the manager. The waitress came back and said that the manager would not be comping the meal as my mom had eaten a good amount of the meal. We asked to speak with the manager and it was relayed that she would not be speaking to us. She was busy celebrating her birthday. I would almost not believe that this was the case, but I saw the cake that said “Happy Birthday Taylor”. I understand that my mom ate her food, but I also think about the nearly half century my family has spent patronizing a storied deli that bucks the trend. I understand that many patrons try to garner freebies all the time. I also understand that when young family members take the part of managing a gem, they completely screw it up. This was the case here: the manager of the restaurant was more interested in her butter-cream and employees kissing her ass vs. a loyal patron. I ask the Peskin family if its worth it to celebrate a 27th birthday vs losing the loyal patronage of a nearly 50 year long customer? Is it worth it to put your storied restaurant in the hands of someone so aloof to the needs of people willingly spending $3.50 on an iced tea? You should send your “manager” to some training on meeting the needs of those willing to pay a premium for a turkey sandwich.

Having lived in LA for many years, I have become used to always being dissapointed when people talk up a "Real NY deli" in LA. I haven't ever found it to be true until I tried Brent's. This is absolutely the real deal, with amazing hand sliced Nova lox, incredible sable (black cod) and other east coast delicacies, I used them for catering an event and ordering for 20 people was more than enough for 35. The quantities are incredibly generous, the service is friendly and professional, and the quality can't be beat. A must visit stop for anyone missing real east coast deli. Even worth the shlep to Northridge!

I love deli's, I love sandwiches, and did I mention I love Deli's? Everywhere I go I try to eat the local sandwich specialty. I've always had a special place in my heart for pastrami sandwiches, and that's how I got hooked on deli's. I live in LA, so I've tried them all, Art's, Canter's, Jerry's, Goldblatt's, Weiler's, and so on. Hands down, my two favorites are Langer's deli (which is only open until 4:00pm) and Brent's. Although I feel Langer's is the best Pastrami sandwich around (the #19 is legendary), Brent's is the best overall deli I've ever been to, not just here, but anywhere. Yes, I've had Katz's and the Stage Deli, and bunch of other Deli's in New York, they might have better PR departments, but they certainly don't have a better kitchen and wait staff than Brent's, everything is perfect, every time. And as much as I love Pastrami, here, I have to mix in the Corned Beef, because it is out of this world. Highly, highly recommend Brent's, they have a second restaurant in Thousand Oaks which is great, but there is something super special about the original Northridge location.

Great Eggs Benedict, great omelettes, and great coffee. What more could you ask for? Lunch is also excellent and I am partial to the pastrami.

This Deli is always crowded because the food is so good and the service is excellent! The menu selections are vast and the food is always fresh. This is definitely a hot spot and should not be missed by anyone that knows about it.

It's wonderful to occasionally escape from the "healthy food" ordered in for very sedentary television writers. The day our show ordered from Brent's was exactly what we needed, Great bread, meat, condiments, pickles and fries for the table! What a treat and what a deli! For those of us who spent any time in NYC, it brought back all the best memories.

I’ve been going to the Northridge Brents Deli for over 40 years! It is by far, hands down, the best deli ever! Consistently good fresh food, great service, family run, and always excellent. My favorite is their mushroom barley soup! But, have never had anything that wasn’t simply delicious, and the best!

Always a great meal and outstanding service. Brent's sets the benchmark high for Deli food experiences. Huge portions and quality are the cornerstones of this Deli. Very few Deli's have survived in the Valley! Brents continues to flourish. Enjoy !

I love this place. Never disappointed, when you walk through the door you know you’re home, take a deep breath and relax. The food and service are the best!

No wonder there is always a line out the door! The food at Brent's is tasty and fresh - homemade corned beef hash with eggs, fluffy pancakes, coffee or orange juice to complete the perfect breakfast without breaking the bank. Service with a smile by the friendly workers makes this a favorite of ours.

Never a complaint with the food or service at Brent's. The service is the best and never a complaint with the food. Want more warm rye bread or more pickles? You got it!

Plain and simple, their Black Pastrami Reuben sandwich is my death row meal. The way the pastrami blends perfectly with the tang of their kraut and the crunch of their bread... hold on, I think I'm going back there right now.

Fabulous food served in huge quantities, fast, efficient service, comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed a great meal and would return here every chance we get.

The Deli food is great. Lots of it, and well....LOTS of it! Huge portions, and everything is quite good. Sadly, the wait-people don't have the "attitude" of New York deli's, but...they do a good job. Seriously, the cake pieces can feed a family of four. Four ADULTS. Enjoy!

Always been the best deli in the area. They have great brunch items with fantastic lox and pickles. Super huge best sandwiches, great matzo ball soup.

This restaurant consistently has good food and great service. Have been going there for many years. We also visit the one in Westlake village and it is great too.

My friend, Lynne, who is Jewish recommended going there, so we drove about 30 minutes to get there. It was busy, but we got seated almost immediately. I ordered a Black Pastrami Reuben sandwich on Rye with Russian dressing. It came with Cole Slaw, which I asked him not to bring because I wouldn't eat it, and Steak Fries. The fries were decent, but I chose to eat about 5 and spend my time with the main course, which was magnificent. The rye bread was toasted to perfection, and the sandwich with sauerkraut was about 3.5 inches thick. It was probably the best sandwich I have eaten in a very long time. My friend ordered an omelet with melted Muenster cheese on top. She liked it very much, too. I bought a Chocolate Eclair to go for later that was 6-8 inches long, about 3 inches wide, and about 3.5 inches tall. My friend ordered food to go for the weekend. She had not been there in years, but it has been there since 1967, and she used to go with family often. Her folks loved the place, too. I highly recommend this deli and restaurant. Service was impeccable, too. As a former waiter in my college days, I appreciate good service, and these folks didn't disappoint. We left with happy tummies. Do yourself a favor. If you are wondering where to eat that is out of the ordinary, you definitely should give Brent's a try. My friend says it is the best Jewish deli in Los Angeles. Period. She made a believer out of me.

I have eaten there several times and it is ok when I am in the area. I have been to much better delis and much worse, It is clean, service is ok, food is ok but nothing special. I have no complaints or praise for the place. Can be pricey as most delis can be.

Pastrami was okay but black and whites stale and fries soggy and underdone. Breakfast greasy and eggs were runny.

Too small, so the wait times are long and the wait space is extremely limited to having almost none at all. The hostesses can become short with their customer service. Table seating is tight. So hopefully you like eating on top of others.

Having had the good fortune of trying excellent restaurants around the world, this is among the best. Everything is made from scratch. They serve many small places of exquisite food that are innovative and outstanding. The tab, while expensive, is not unreasonable for such a place. If you want a spectacular experience try this place.

Amazing deli with excellent choices! Love the pastrami sandwich but my very best is the chocolate cake!

Brent's hasgood pastrami and corned beef, as well as a descent white fish salad. Their turkey sandwich, on one occasion, was very good; not so much on another. Great rye bread, good bagels. Valley location works for me, I work nearby. But still, does not compare to Langer's near MacArthur Park.

Our relatives were raving about Brent's Delicatessen and insisted that we go there for lunch. Wow! I am mighty glad we did. Great place, super friendly, and the food was perfect. Two of our party had the cabbage soup and said it was the best. I for a more classic sandwich and was pleased beyond saying. Frankly, I am ready to go back, even though it is 2896 miles away from my home.

The best! Always good and fast ! The sandwiches, of course, are the thing, after all it's a Deli. Been many times and have never been disappointed!

Brent's is a San Fernando Valley institution. Be prepared to wait awhile for breakfast lunch or dinner on weekends but it's well worth it. The service is 'old school' excellent and the food is excellent. The corned beef in the Reuben sandwich is moist and tender, same with the Pastrami. For starters try the cabbage soup, it's fantastic. Great service and stupendous food.

For decades, we have given thanks for the proximity, ambience, and talents of Brent's, our family's 'Go To' after Sunday Mass, lunch with good friends, and whenever we crave the freshest and consistently finest Deli menu in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. We are welcomed, waited on, and catered to like decades-long best friends by the long-time-good folks on staff. The whole world is in need of such a place!

Brent's is not open for indoor dinning and of course you can still get take away or delivery. This place is so cute. The service is fast and very friendly. Everyone is nice and know their large menu well. It is hard to decide what to get there because everything is great. Their Matzo Ball Soup is so tasty and they have these huge pastrami sandwiches that are so great. They have whatever you want for breakfast, we love their pancakes. They have fresh fish as well. They also have a deli counter that has whatever you need to take him and make sandwiches all week. We love this place.

Although this is NOT a Kosher Deli, the food selections are good, and the portions are generous. SOME of the prices a bit high though.

In the last several months, I have had Hot Pastrami, Black Pastrami Reuben, Cheese Burger, Open-Faced Roasted Turkey Sandwich, the Classic Cobb Salad and sliced Corned Beef I bought for St Patrick's Day so the wife didn't have to cook. Everything was uniformly outstanding, including the service. There were a couple of meals last year that were not up to their usual par, but they are knocking out of the park now.

Probably the best Deli in the valley. Lean or extra lean corned beef is the best. Rye bread is super. There can be a wait, but sitting at the counter is great.

Packed deli, a plate of pickles, pastrami sandwich on the best rye double baked bread! Also tried the latkes and blintzes, oh my gosh, all wonderful, the matzo ball soup looked amazing, next time, plus they sell the bread, but had run out, sigh!

The food was great and fresh. Have gone a number of times and keep going back. They do a good job and staff are friendly

This place is a mainstay in the San Fernando Valley. The food is consistently good and the menu has a large number of items. Whenever I have the urge for a good New York style deli Brent's is my choice.

New York Jewish Deli comfort food right in the middle of the San Fernando Valley. Family owned and operated since 1969 still making grandma’s old world recipes. Sandwich? Soup? Stuffed Cabbage? Breakfast? We’ve been going there since it opened and I was 8 years old. Why do you think we keep going back? They also have a location in Westlake Village which opened about 12 years ago. Same menu and equally as good.

Brent's is one of my favorite go-to spots! The menu can please all the people, all the time! Food and service are both excellent. Don't miss this gem.

Brent's never disappoints. I love taking people that have never experienced a real deli. Their food is always consistent. Great service by their wait staff, worth the wait.

Authentic deli food just like I had growing up in NY...only better!!!! Don't miss trying any of the delish sandwiches or chicken noodle soup with matzoh balls. You'll never go to another deli other than Brent's again!!

This restaurant is not kosher. It does not belong on your list of top 10 kosher restaurants in Los Angeles.

wow I am shocked at how beautiful this experience was and the delicious food they serve you, truly an unforgettable experience

Unbelievably good Creamed Herring, Romanian Steak and just about anything else. Valley location is ALWAYS bustling because it is SO good. The Westlake location is very pretty, serves the same food and is equally delicious but doesn't have that old Jewish Deli vibe. Food is great, though.

Brisket, Pastrami or Corn beef they are all amazing. Went with family for graduation and had a wonderful time

I don't get to eat here very often, but never regret my visit. The burgers and pastrami sandwiches are excellent!

Loved the food, the staff and the setout. The entree or teasers are great to share with friends. Thankyou for great service and beautiful food

The best deli in Southern California. We drive in from the beach cities and it is worth the drive and time to eat here.

It has been many years since I have been back to Southern California. The food is expensive but there is a reason for it. There food is just that good. My mother and I moved to Indiana in 2013 and we have yet to find a place even one tenth as good as Brents. If we ever go back to California for a visit. I will be sure to stop by and relive the memories of my childhood while sinking my teeth into the best roast beef sandwich in the world while inhaling a bowl of their beef and barley soup. I truly miss this place as it was home. (Year date is wrong but it would not go that far back

I have been here before, but I must admit, not too often. Why? Because I have to drive past maybe 10 other delis to get here. But when family or friends come into town and say they want deli, this is my go-to place. New pickles! Every time!! Stacks of hot, fresh corn rye bread on the table. Barbeque cod, only place in the state, I think. (They make their own.) Even the Chinese chicken salad was huge, fresh, and (I was told - but wanted to keep room for the cod) delicious. The only drawback: the chocolate chip sweet rolls sell out by 10 am so are never available for lunch or dinner.

This deli is worth a visit. I got a pastrami sandwich with Russian dressing and coleslaw. The pastrami is very good (not as lean as one would expect from a place with such a reputation). It is expensive—a little over $17 for the size of the sandwich I ordered that included a very small side. The real show-stopper was the chocolate cake. One of the best I have ever had. It’s a mile high. Don’t leave without getting a slice. The service was efficient.

Brent's has been doing it right so long, they don't know wrong. All the best foods and service. Cheers !!

Being a an east coast transplant, there are certain things I miss. Real deli food, being one of those. Brent’s is so delicious and authentic! Recommend the corned beef or pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and matzo ball soup. I love that you can get soup and a half of a sandwich as an option.

Fabulous food, great service. Only complaint is that they serve to much and I have to take food home

The best deli on the west coast by far. Not even sure where to start so I'll just say get your deli food here and be sure to add pickles, those are unreal! 5 stars and I'd give them more if I could. Fantastic!!! Delicious! So damn good!

If you want the real deal deli go here. Everything you order is amazing. You can't go wrong with anything. Service is really good and really good portions. They know how to make jewish food. I moved to Arizona and went there last month and forgot what a really good jewish deli tastes like.

I have gone here since childhood and never miss it when I’m in town. There are so few real Delicatessens anymore. Brent’s is the Gold standard. Everything is done well and done right. Service is perfect. The quality is the highest. Get the pastrami, the corned beef, the smoked fish platter, the rye bread, the chopped liver plate, and be sure to get the full sour pickles. The pickles are bottomless refills. I always take home a few rye breads.

My family and I have eaten at Brent's Monthly for the last 30 years plus. We go for Special Occasions and it is our Go-To for a healthy meal with friends and family. They also have Awesome Deserts.

The Best of best.Breakfastlunch Dinner.Great food.Great service Great prices..service with a smile. Our favorite place to dine. I am known as UNCLE Danny.

Thank you Brent's Deli for the best pastrami sandwich, ever. I was back in the valley for my 50 year reunion meeting a couple of my buddies from swim team and insisted we had to go for real deli food. I am now living in a food desert in Ireland where they have no idea what the word "deli" even means. They have no idea what a good rye bread with beautiful pastrami looks or even tastes like. The food at Brent's is gorgeous. The soups, the sandwiches, the atmosphere...beautiful. This is a must on your culinary list of places to go!!!

I had always wanted to try Brent’s for a long time, so one day l went with my daughter and her boyfriend. We went on a Saturday morning around 10 a d it was packed. We waited a out 10 minutes and every dish they served looked delicious. The service was pleasant. I had a standard French Toast breakfast along with a healthy (lol) side of fried Zucchini. It was excellent. My daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed their meals as well. I am looking forward to going again because everything really did look !

While waiting for your order, it's easy to be hypnotized by the plus-size carrot cake that tempts you with each rotation within the tall, glass-enclosed dessert carousel. But it'll have to wait, as the seasoned waitress brings you your hot pastrami on rye. We share it, the two of us, and ask for two more slices of that steaming-hot, crunchy-crusted rye to make more half-sandwiches out of the pastrami that's simply too much for even a half-sandwich to contain. The side dish was either potato salad or close slaw. It's hard to remember; either way, it was just as perfect a compliment to the meal as our Dr. Brown's creme and black cherry sodas. The pastrami itself? Savory, surprisingly lean. Simply, it earns our vote for Best in Los Angeles - though on a good day, Langer's on Alvarado is close. Wexler's, inside Grand Central Market downtown, slew us when it first opened, but hasn't tasted as quintessentially "authentic"(whatever that means) since. On a weekend the crowd will mean you wait for a table - and induce lip-reading due to the din of all the disparate conversations. But it was the pilgrimage to Brent's - and not so much the purported longing for a siblings reunion - that was the primary reason my sister flew down from Napa last weekend. So complete was our satisfaction with the half sandwich that we let the carrot cake continue its orbiting inside the display case undisturbed. Even a vegan with a sweet tooth could find nirvana at Brent's.

This is one of the last good and genuine deli restaurants in Los Angeles. Great if you have a hankering for this type of food but get ready to spend $50 or more on a couple of sandwiches and maybe a soup. Service is okay.

I don't get to eat here often as I live very far away but when my day takes me nearby it is always a treat. The food is traditional Jewish Deli and remains consistent over time. Portions are enormous and prices fair. I hope it lasts forever as there are not very many around anymore.

No one makes Corned Beef or Pastrami sandwiches better than Brent's Delicatessen (unless you're in New York City)! The Staff is personable and it feels like home. Enough said!

Started off with the matzah ball soup, not quite Katz's good, but better than most and definitely up to NY standards. Followed that with a pastrami and chopped liver combo sandwich. The pastrami was right on and they nailed the chopped liver too. That is rare. The rye bread was a little different, but it worked. The fries were also good. They even had black cherry and cream soda. My only knock was the pickles, they need to be more sour to compete with NY pickles.

This charming old place is always full of life and an energy that all deli's should have! Its very special, a bit pricey but worth a good lunch at least every other month!

just ate this delicious food and bakery items at a friends home for about 100 people...it was SO very good and tasteful and fresh...they even deliver!

The quality of service was exceptional. Not to mention, excellent food! The combination of quantity (lots of food) and quality (good food) makes this a must visit for the SFV...

Wonderful food, big portions, great service, fair prices. Brent’s is the BEST. No matter when you come to the restaurant, there is always a line and a short wait. Since there is no pastrami sandwich as good as this one, the wait seems minimal. Enjoy!

Had to come here early Sunday morning for breakfast (had corned beef hash, fish platter) and got mouth watering food (lox and cream cheese, bagels, cod, chopped liver) to break the fast for Wednesday night! Looking forward to feasting on delicious food soon! Thank you!

Brent's has been around for a long time. They're food is good, but the prices keep rising. People (seniors most likely with fixed incomes) are at a disadvantage.

Great food, you will not leave here hungry, the portions are HUGE. Matzo ball soup was delish and the bagel chips are addictive.

Brent's is the deli gem of the San Fernando Valley! With a fast and friendly staff and some of the most delicious meals around, you can bring a client or visitor here and be assured of a pleasant meal and a return visit. My guest raved about the Black Pastrami Reuben on rye, and I was more than happy with my go-to meal, Brent's Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken.

Very well done deli food. I enjoy it whenever I go there. If you enjoy deli food, you will enjoy it also.

Classic great authentic deli food. This place has everything a proper NY deli has to offer. Go there for great BIG sandwiches and the BEST Cole slaw.

I have made several trips to this wonderful deli and I love the food. Its always crowded and noisy but popular has its down sides too. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the crowds and the usual wait, although I doubt there is much THEY can do about it. Its kind of "Canter's" of the valley ... Without the great bakery......

Wonderful down to earth comfort food , one of the last remaining good Delis that is still around . Great soups.

This was everything you would want in a delicatessen, The atomosphere was very nice. It was spacious with comfortable booths. My server was very friendly and attentive. The pastrami reuben was amazing. It was piled high with great tasting meat. The fries were only warm and not crispy on the outside. The free pickles were great. Afterwards I got a black and white cookie for the road. It was amazing. It was more cake like then cookie like. Too bad I live far away and won't be able to return.

Brent's is such a good deli. Everything is sooo good. Do not skip the rye bread. Get some to take home!!!

Extremely flavorful, well-prepared food. Always the freshest ingredients are noted and the atmosphere and service are excellent as well. Well established for many years. Fairly priced.

This deli is the best! The food is fantastic and the portions are huge. I had a corned beef sandwich that lasted me three lunches. Their twice baked corned rye is wonderful. They get very crowded and offer you will wait but it is worth it.

Ordered dinner for 4 on the phone, paid by credit card and picked up in front of restaurant. Order was correct however, paying $22.00 for a corned beef sandwich on rye with a miniscule portion of potato salad or cole slaw with 4 slices of pickles seemed ridiculous. Used to be enough meat to make a second sandwich however this time not as much meat. The two Veggie sandwiches were half filled with sprouts plus tomato, lettuce, red onion, tomato and avocado for $16.00 along with maybe the 1/8 cup of cole slaw were beautifully fresh and inviting. The BBQ chopped salad was enough for two with lots of veggies, cheese and chicken and came with rye bread as requested. The Chicken soup with Matzo ball (requested packed separately) was rich in color and included noodles, carrots and chicken and would serve two people and was worth the $12.95. Also comes with choice of bread. Three bagels and small 1/2 pint of cream cheese completed the order to cover breakfast! I think the accompanying slaw, mac.salad or potato salad should be larger than 1/8 of a cup which in reality is about two forks worth which is why I ordered a 1/2 pint of cole slaw in addition. Brent's potato salad and cole slaw are the best which is why you will want more than what comes with their sandwiches!

Brent's has been our favorite deli for years. The food is traditional deli food, served in a reasonable setting. Prices may seem a bit high, but isn't that the case for everything!

The food was really delicious, it is a restaurant I long to return to. very well very good and with a very good service

Best deli ever We have been going to Brent s for years can’t find a better deli anywhere. I don’t care what state you’re in

Excellent food and a great coffelist, from very affordable coffe to a number of really expensive ones. All the dishes we had were excellent, the service great and the patio seating very nice, too.

After ordering a fish plate then watching the mountainous pastrami sandwiches go by, there was some buyer's remorse. Then it came, yeah, it was really good. Unfortunately, I shared it. Get one for yourself, it really isn't quite big enough for two. Deserts looked spectacular but we did not indulge.

Brent’s is by far the best deli in the Valley. All of the food I’ve ever had there is at least solid, and most is very good to excellent. One might argue over the best corned beef or pastrami in all of Los Angeles (I’m partial to Langer’s) but there’s no argument in the Valley. It’s Brent’s. Brent’s has a typical deli look and feel, with a large menu and an efficient staff. It’s often busy at lunch and dinner but don’t let that scare you off, they’re pretty good at getting food out fast. As the ambiance is very much “noisy, busy, deli” you won’t usually feel the need to linger. Neither will others, so the tables turn frequently.

I hope this is NOT confusing. I love Brent's Deli in Westlake. I won't go back to Brent's Deli on Parthenia Street. Today I went for lunch to the San Fernando Valley restaurant, which I do not like. For the following reasons. It's noisy. And on this occasion, our waitress Adele, actually threw the food at us. Sure it was busy. And Sure we got instantaneous food. We arrived around 12:30--and literally 4 minutes later the soup was tossed in front of us (slopping over into the plate) followed by the sandwich seconds later. Maybe she was busy--but along with the sandwich came the check.--five seconds later!!!!! Maybe this was an aberration. Maybe the lady was overworked. But lunching or dining this is not. And I will never go back to the Northridge location. Whereas service at the calmer, less frantic Westlake Brents is a delight.

Yes absolutely amazing authentic food Family run business Me favorite is liver sandwich and matza ball soup Highly recommend Does not take reservations Worth the wait

Fabulous food and terrific service. Great place to meet friend and have brunch. The bagels and lox and fish platter is great to share.

My experience at Brent’s was amazing, the food, customer service and atmosphere were all consistent with what I’ve heard. Thus will definitely be a place where we will visit more often in the future.

Super fresh food. Always busy so expect a wait. Large portions. The pastrami is the best in the world. In my opinion.

Great NY style deli with a really interesting menu and great food. Servers are all veterans and make me feel like I was back in Brooklyn. Just love this place!

I grew up in the Valley and now live in Hawaii. Everytime I visit family there, Brent's is on my "must- do" list. They are one of the few places that have not changed (other than an expansion years ago) since I started going there in 1967. The service and food are worth the wait, if you end up going during their busy time. Order the Reuben and make sure to ask for more Kosher pickles after you devour your first plate full. You'll never find rye bread as good as theirs! Breakfasts are just as good as lunch. And, dinner's are just as good as breakfasts.

Brent’s has consistently had the best deli food in the Conejo Valley since it opened the local restaurant many years ago. The menu is overwhelming but don’t be confused. Their signature corned beef is always a winner!

Met friends here on a Saturday lunchtime, food was fabulous but the acoustics just about did me in .... It was definitely the wrong choice of restaurant to catch up and have a chat with friends. On top of that I think we just sat too close to the kitchen & the area where the busboys return the plates, because there was so much clashing, crashing and slamming its as if they came to the area and literally threw the plates in their bins. I truly couldn’t hear my friends across the table - it really made me feel uncomfortable, so much so that I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Sad as the food & location is great and their chocolate Eclairs are amazing.

For anyone craving an authentic NY Style Deli in the Sam Fernando Valley, there is no other place to go! Whether its Piled high Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwiches, Matzah Ball Soup or Lox and Bagels with the schmear (cream cheese), you will not be disappointed! Double Crusted Rye, scratch made pickles (new and old) and bagel chips accompany most orders. And for desert, tons and tons of scratch made sweets, cookies, cakes and pastries. For catering needs, they are your go to for Deli platters for home events or office parties.

Best pastrami on rye in Los Angeles. Langers is great. Cantors, Jerry’s are OK. But Brents is still the best.

A good deli is very hard to find these days. I'm from Philly and work in NYC often where truly godd delis seem to be a thing of the past. But what a gem this is. Outstanding people and food. You wont go wrong coming here and getting your favorite sandwich.

We had a great dinner w/ family and friends @ Brent’s once again! Yes we were a big group and each one of us enjoyed our meals immensely. From matzo ball soup to triple decker pastrami, corned beef and turkey.... Oy! Beautiful memories made. The gathering was made more special w/ Ms. Miller attending to our every need. Thank you Ms. Miller, you rock!

Excellent food and atmosphere. One of the best delis in Los Angeles . My only complain is that Jerry Deli has better chicken noodle soup

Great! The pastrami was wonderful. The omelette my wife ordered was fabulous. The service was great. The price was high but the food was great.

My favorite deli by far. Been coming for years haven’t found something on the menu I don’t like. If your coming here for the first time I can’t recommend the Black Pastrami Reuben enough. The sandwich is melt in your mouth good, and there’s a lot of it! Quality of the food is hard to beat here but my one complaint has to be the host area. I’ve had to wait way to long to just pay my bill. On my last visit I was standing there for 10 minutes with credit card in hand just trying to get someone to take my money, but they are always busy on the phones or running around in the chaos of customers waiting for tables, picking up food or trying to pay.

Food is excellent, from their omelettes to their pastrami sandwiches. to their bakery and their blueberries cheesecake. We are there at least once a month. Everything we have tired is delicious. If you are hungry come for a bite.

We drive a hour and a half from Azusa to go to this deli. Love it! I also getvrye bread to take home.

When walking into Brents you are getting excited. The food & service are outstanding. I have been going there for 30 years. Breakfast, lunch & dinner. I highly recommend.

Whether your'e looking for a breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner,or just a nice cup of coffee and a desert don't miss BRENT'S DELICATESSEN & RESTAURANT in the San Fernando Valley. Diverse menu choices all delicious and fresh......

Absolutely best food service around every time we visit food great quality hot best service the owner is super guy love this restaurant friendly staff delicious food

Very good Jewish delicatessen food. Service is slowish and brusk. Ambiance is about what you expect from a deli.

Finding a deli that lives up to the portions, the pickles, the pastrami, the pirogi, and all the other delicious "Ps" is getting increasingly rare each year. Savoring the rye bread (double baked), the ribs (short and tangy), the roast beef, the rolls, and the ruggelach is also more and more of a chore these days. save the trouble...Brent's Deli in Northridge not the other one in Westlake is the place to go. The soup, the salad, the salami (hard) the sweet cabbage is a joy...OMG I'm salivating as I write this. Its the best... GO!!!

Very nice diner. Sandwiches are nice as well as their breakfast. Though place was crowded, service was very fast. I had the corned beef sandwich and it was very good.

Best pastrami sandwiches & Mac & cheese in Los Angeles. Awesome service, very friendly staff. Coming back soon👍🏽

What’s not to like about Brent’s Deli? The variety of offerings is exactly what you would expect in a deli. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. Good food, good atmosphere.

Brent’s has the best cold slaw I have ever eaten! In fact, their entire menu is very good. I use their delivery service for company luncheons.

It's the best sandwich I've ever eaten !!! An extremely tasty experience to try absolutely. Unique atmosphere and dishes. I also recommend cabbage soup.

Can't go wrong at Brent's but go hungry Obviously not true NY deli but a great West Coast substitute.

We've been going to Brent's for 35 years, since it was half the size it is today. With each year, our appreciation for Brent's grows. How can we be so lucky as to live within a mile of the best deli in LA? We just had a holiday dinner there a month ago. It was great. Over the years, I have ordered a variety of dishes from Brent's. and sat everywhere from the counter to the largest booths. I am stuck on the black pastrami reuben at this time and seem unable to order anything else. When someone in the family is sick or has a touchy stomach, we get takeout chix noodle soup from Brent's. Thank god for Brent's! lol

Excellent food qualty. Bread was a bit crumbly.Waitresses were friendly and attractive. Food was served hoit and withun a few minutes of the order. Drinks were cold and with nominal amount of icw

They give you a lot of quality food, get there early gets crowded fast Blackened pastrami is excellent, breakfast excellent

I am usually impressed by the food at Brents Deli. It's always a lot of food too. The service could be faster but I might have just come in at a busy time.

Great I love the food, I recommend above all a perfect service, And a really nice atmosphere very enchanted especially all my family

Fast, clean, friendly to old and young alike with delicious baked breads and pastries, amazing breakfasts, great deli sandwiches. Pastramis, corned beef, and on and on.

Brent’s is the best deli anywhere! There cabbage soup is amazing! People come from miles away to enjoy everything on the menu!

My grandson and I love Brent's. We have been going to this one for some time. We used to dine in, but this last visit we had take out (COVID 19). They still have almost everything on their over 650 items on their menu. They have take-out, delivery in Los Angeles, great desserts, the best deli sandwiches you will ever have and their breakfast is now great. Parking is free and easy. When dinning in there can be a wait, but it is not long. When ordering to go, just call it in or you can have it delivered to your hotel or home. The service is super friendly and fast. Many of the employees have been there for some years and they know the menu well. The sandwiches are huge and the meat is so fresh. You can also get little apps. and share. I love their little beef sandwiches as a snack. Their fries are great. And try their coffee, they have a large selection. This is typical deli food, but they also have a lot on the menu for vegetarians and a few things for vegans. They also serve breakfast all day. I usually go with a brisket sandwich, but this time I tried their waffle and eggs with hash browns. I was in heaven. I just love this place. Now, you will notice it is more expensive than other deli's, but they give you a lot of food and it is the best you can get in deli. They also have a counter where you can get deli items and bagels etc. Have the best time.

Located in a central location in Westlake village, easy to get to just seconds off the 101 freeway. Brent’s serves generous portions. Be prepared to take a doggie bag home or back to the office. If you want to talk business or on a date, the interior reflects a lot of sound (i.e. noisy) so ask for a place on the right side back by the bar. Smaller room dimensions and you can have a bit quieter conversation.

Simply the best of the best!! Brent's Reuben is legendary and deservedly so! Worth the drive if you're not in the valley.

Great deli crowd; excellent pastrami sandwiches and delicious split pea soup with generous pieces of beef.

Love their sandwiches and by far best potato salad. Also, if you love dill pickles, you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!

There are many delis in the LA area. Some good, some not so. (I won’t mention names) If you want your money’s worth, this is the super star place to go. You can order a corned beef sandwich and split it and still be full or you can ask for an extra slice or two of rye and have two delicious sandwiches for the price of one. The vibe is always good. A true delicatessen for the real experience and great food.

Service was good employees were nice food was good. what else can you want.been there with friend and others .

No contest! Brent's is fabulous. All delis are measured against Brent's. The food and service are superb. Of course, breakfast here is a must. But be prepared for a wait, especially on the weekends. Everyone knows this is the crown jewel in delis, so what more can I say!!! You won't go wrong in having your next breakfast or lunch meeting at Brent's or catering your next party or function with Brent's. Relish the occasion!

This is a real Jewish deli with large portions enjoyed by mostly large people. They serve the best twice baked rye you’ve ever tasted. Everything is great! Not to be missed if anywhere near there. Try their sweet and sour cabbage soup with brisket.

Be prepared to wait because there is always a crowd but if you're craving a real deal deli, there is no other place than Brent's. I bring all my east coast family here when they are skeptical that any deli in LA could be legit. The first bite of the twice baked rye with their delicious corned beef, pastrami or really anything, makes them all believers! Great for breakfast lunch or dinner and everything is great. Sandwiches are huge! Oh and don't forget about the desserts! I'm beyond grateful that I live so close to it!

Brent’s is always the best deli. They have the best deli meats. The entrees are always so tasteful. Brent’s is one of the best places to eat in LosAngeles.

We been visiting Brent's Deli for years. The food is consistently good with homemade appeal. You'd be hard pressed to find a better Reuben sandwich!

Brent’s Deli is THE BEST Deli West of the Mississippi!! It is truly an institution for those who crave a hearty sandwich. They also make great Matzo ball soup and omelets. The wait for a table can be long due to its popularity but it’s all worth it! My only criticism is sometimes the waiter/waitress brings the check way before we’re done eating which is annoying. Otherwise, the service is good and is a fun atmosphere. Already looking forward to return visit with friends!!

service was excellent as was the food and the choices are almost overwhelming. Easy off and on along the 101 for Westlake location.

I come here once in a while to have breakfast with my husband and we would sometimes bring our 4yo daughter when there's no school. The line can be long on a weekend but it's not that bad. My favorite dish is their reuben corned beef and I order it along with sweet potatoes and coleslaw. It's sooo good that I order it all the time! The service is good, once you are seated in someone comes to you right away to get your drinks. It can be tight in the restaurant when there's a lot of people but then again it's not a big concern. Waiters and waitresses are nice and everybody acts fast so everyone is well accomodated.

Can’t beat Brent’s sandwiches for a top notch working lunch meeting. The meats are exquisitely thin sliced and best quality. And the tuna salad sandwich is superb. You can’t go wrong with a variety platter. Try it, you’ll love it.

The last time we went to Brent's Deli, we needed a place to get a dinner. We arrived about 20 minutes before they closed, but we still had good food, well-prepared and well-served. Note: the menu lists pie, but I was told that only the Westlake Village Brent's location serves pie. The other dessert choices at the Northridge Brent's did not appeal to me.

Called in here last Sunday morning for breakfast which was fantastic. Great service, great decaf coffee. Ordered a delivery for Tuesday to a business meeting, and that too was brilliant. It does get really busy here so tip would be to go early! Corned beef hash & eggs delish.

always crowed, always a wait, always worth it! the best Deli anywhere. The best deli sandwiches. The meat is always lean and the bread is always fresh. The noodle kougal is the best i have ever tasted. The cabbage soup is better than my mothers--and that is saying something!

I have a postpartum tradition that started a few years ago with my first kid. We randomly ordered a rare roast beef club sandwich with cheddar cheese and Russian dressing on egg bread to be delivered to the hospital as my first meal after delivering my baby. This was the best sandwich I ever had and I repeated this tradition after the birth of my daughter in September 2018. I have to say they really know how to make the perfect club sandwich. The matzo ball soup is not too shabby either! I wish I remembered to take a pic of that meal, but it was gone before you could say cheese ; )

been going to Brents for 45 years. the food is as good as or actually better than any other Jewish style deli, including NY. Service is top notch.

the best deli food every visit. portions are huge and freash. the new pickles are a special treat and refilled as needed.

Noisy, happy, tasty, large portions! Consistently delicious . I bring friends and family whenever we can.

The portions are large. The food and service is great. I love the pickles. The sandwiches are huge. The macaroni salad and potato salad is awesome.

My favorite is the mushroom barley soup, which includes a very generous amount of meat. The 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup is a great value.
Brent's Deli is the Best!!!
You can always count on Brent's, Whether it's the Matzo ball soup or the Heart attack grilled pastrami or one of the hundreds of other choices it is always better than you think is possible! The staff keeps up on all your needs and doesn't make you wait for things. you will almost always need a box to take home the extra food but I sometimes forget to stop!!
