Love this place! Always feel so welcomed, the wait staff is super good, always making sure you have what you want and things you don't even know you want! The best burger in town, delicious duck salad, chicken pot pie, salads, fish, steaks-all good. It has a lively crowd at the bar-the place feels alive. It can get very busy so reservations are a must weekends.

Seven of us ate here last week and we all were very satisfied with our meals and with the service. Even though we had a large group we did not feel neglected. I had a flat iron steak which was cooked to perfection. Nice selection of wines as well.

A long standing haven for excellent, well-made classics. Flattering (ie dim) lighting, a good bar and strong wine list

A terrific menu with a wide variety to select from! The burger is outstanding! Something on the menu for everyone. Place is bustling with energy and is always busy.

A hidden gem for locals. Great food, service and lively bar. Terrific menu - diverse

I think most of the other reviews are accurate on this place. This was my second and last time here for dinner. My guess is they've been around for so long as an old school spot in Brentwood, that they think they can charge high prices for mediocre dishes. There were quite a few locals, older crowd and the service was below average - especially at these prices. The food is uninspired and does not change much seasonally. So, while there are a few signature dishes, for the most part the food is "rote", not uniquely prepared and reminds me of hotel dishes. I had a house speciality - short ribs & polenta, it was 1 star at best..the short ribs were 3 symmetrical dull (and tough) pieces of meat plated in the center with a few dried out roasted vegetables and some pre-prepared polenta. The wait staff did periodic fly by's, but are not very attentive or inspired. We started with the artichoke appetizer, was boring with too much shaved parmesan cheese. Another of us had the Pork Chop, also a speciality and boy was it tough. I'm not opposed to paying $50pp for a steak or fabulous dish. But the food here is not at that level of quality. Candidly I think a chain like Hillstone or Bandera has better food and consistently better service. If you're looking for a spot in Brentwood, in my humble opinion try Divino or head to Bandera a few miles west. Hope this is helpful for your dining adventures.

Amazing fresh food in delightfully serene and comfortable ambiance. Wonderful, non-intrusive service. We love it there!

This is truly a neighbor find that's been around for awhile. The food is awesome (albeit pricey) and so is the service. Don't be surprised to see one or more of your favorite classic movie or television actors/actresses seated next to you on any given night. Oh and if you like martini's - try one or two, you'll be impressed.

I always enjoy the Brentwood - it's an easy neighborhood gem. The food is always fresh and delicious. The menu is great! The atmosphere lively, though sometimes a bit difficult to hear if you are more than 4 people (and depending on where you are seated). My only complaint is that it feels very expensive.

Great spot for dinner and or a drink that stays open late. You can expect great food, wine, and full bar including the crisp Chimay ale on tap, the hot game on the TV and good music playing over the sound system and the crowd upscale with Brentwood locals and a few visitors from out of town. Valet parking always available. Small bar with about a dozen seats is a nice spot to relax or party with friends.

We like this restaurant but have to say their prices are almost out of line. Five of us ate there, two people split a burger, one person only had a salad and the alcohol consisted of only one glass of moderately priced wine and the bill was still about $200 incl tip.

Good but pricey

This restaurant is a little reminiscent of the Brown Derby:clubby, dimly lit and a lot of talking. The room was packed. My friend informed me that it was one of the two best in Brentwood. What makes it great? In this case, the food. Very fresh, very well prepared. I had a special: fried calamari and it was just the right amount for an appetizer. Next I ordered a pork chop which arrived with fries. It was very good. My friend ordered salmon which she says is her favorite and the presentation was beautifully done. It is on the expensive side but you leave feeling you got something for your money. Definitely a neighborhood gem. Though I felt as though I had to speak loudly we couldn't believe a couple of hours had passed while we enjoyed our meal. And then there was the 405........

Has the atmosphere of an exclusive club but welcomes you as a guest. The service was excellent. We particularly appreciated advice on the best wine to drink by someone sensitive to our modest budget. Made us feel that the most expensive wines were not necessarily the best. And the range is impressive. Likewise positive guidance on the menu. The appetizers were delicious, baked aubergines in a rich but not overpowering sauce and the burrata was exquisite. The main dishes were both well cooked and fine ingredients. And there was room for a shared desert. if you ever have the chance to taste the blackberry cobbler - don't miss it. Somehow it worked at all levels and did not leave one overfull.

Small, intimate restaurant/bar. Good food if not too adventuresome. It's nice because you can actually hear yourself talk and maintain a level of privacy. The service is excellent. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Came here for a night out with another couple . Very nice atmosphere... Very loungy... Brought our own wine... Great food .. Had the fish and chips they were great ... Pana Cota was great ... Would definitely come again

The Brentwood is a nice cozy restaurant, wonderful for a romantic dinner, or dinner with friends. The lighting is nice and low, but bright enough to read your menu. I started with the Tricolore salad with Myer Lemon, so fresh, my girlfriend had the Ahi Tuna Tartare, I highly recommend! I had the Branzino, sautéed baby spinach, roasted cherry tomato. All fish is flown in that day, so it was superb! I did not have any dessert, but a latte, and they were able to give me 1% milk, which is nice. They have rich red booths and a clean modern feel. The brunch looks great, I am sure all meals are equally divine. You are going to enjoy any meal, and your surroundings. Enjoy!

I live in BH and the drive across the 405 is a disaster, this restaurant is worth the drive, the service food are quite good

Needed a good place in Brentwood which is sort of an isolated island from many of the better restaurants in the Los Angeles area. Brentwood was a pleasing surprise. Varied menu with something for everyone; good drinks and desserts. Most importantly, everything was well prepared and very tasty. Nothing crazy; nothing over the top and nothing that get the creative juices flowing. But, all around good food and service.

I love a place where a lot of locals come back over and over again. The Brentwood is that kind of place. Good wine selection, excellent selection of food on the menu and a nice atmosphere.

Food is average at best, the restaurant is a small room with no atmosphere and the servers are local students. Just not that good.

The Brentwood is tucked away in between a few small businesses and therefore hard to find, but keep looking! The bar here is always hopping with middle aged Brentwood types which probably makes it a good pick up place, but the food is worth the visit. Their house salad is to die for and they have delicious steaks and chops as well. Brentwood has a dark intimate feel and the tab will be substantial but for a good meal, it's well worth it.

Great food and beverages were introduced to us by relatives who live in Brentwood as their neighborhood spot. Fresh wonderful creations, magnificent service and a fine time were had by all of us. Check it out when in west LA, Brentwood, Santa Monica, etc.

We dined here on our last night in LA. The food was amongst the best ever tasted, all cooked to perfection. The waiter was really helpful and the ambience was just right, a little dark and moody which gives a great vibe. The only downside was the price, it’s expensive, especially once you add LA taxes and a compulsory 20% tip. No starters or desserts, two drinks each = $300.

Great food prepared from first class ingredients. A just right darkened atmosphere for sharing conversation and each other. A really good martini. Warm attentive staff.

This restaurant simply has the best food. Their meals are prepared with fresh vegetables from the local farmers markets and obviously prepared with care. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is fun but also low key.

What I absolutely love about this place is the vibe. The dim lit room is so cozy it makes you want to stay the night. The age range is great too. You see tables filled with girl nights, guy nights and couples of all ages - which is so perfect for everyone. The food is always great, do not forget to order the donuts for dessert.

Had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was the most delightful experience. It is a local restaurant but dripping with casual elegance. The food was delicious and the service was the best. We were with friends visiting from Sacramento and had to find a restaurant near their hotel. What a find. We will be returning and I highly recommend this restaurant

Ate here in October 2019 during stay in LA for my Wife’s birthday, on trip to LA from Scotland. We were staying in the Angelino, and picked this restaurant on a whim as it was close by. My wife booked a table over the phone, and when we arrived they were incredibly welcoming, and it did seem we had been squeezed in at the last moment. Food was excellent, particularly the steak. I loved the ambience, even if it felt a bit dark to my old eyes. I would heartily recommend this establishment, both for the food and for the service.

Nice room with a good buzz. Busy. The menu here is strange. A lot of variety with prices all over the lot. Some entrees for under $20 but chicken for $45? Four of us tried a variety of apps & entrees. Nothing particularly good or bad. Wine list absurdly overpriced. One mediocre Cal Chard on basic list for $45, and about a dozen on separate Chard list, all over $100. Very pretentious. Advertise valet parking but wait was forever, so we finally gave up. Service mediocre. Can do better for these high prices.

We visited the Brentwood restaurant on various occasions maybe 5-6 times over the period of 4 years and the food and service were always consistent with the fillet mignon chop being the best dish among all the neighborhood steak restaurants. We made reservation and came on Friday night and something changed. The place was full with locals which is usual but the service was just shocking. At the table next to us the couple was sitting who ordered a bottle of red wine. The guy was so proud with his wine choice that he offered the waiter to try it saying that it was the best wine ever. The waiter not giving it a second thought had a sip from the customer glass and than saying it was good continued working and serving other people whereas the guy continued drinking from the same glass. It was kind of gross. Our steaks fillet mignon chop and ribeye were under seasoned and over cooked, the garnishes were just bland and not interesting at all. The restaurant is charging $53 for the steaks and could have tried not to over cooked them and use some kind of seasoning. The wine list was good, maybe even too good for some people. I do not think we are going back.

Went there for dinner to celebrate our 6 year old daughter's birthday. We were looking for a nice restaurant that served chicken fingers as our daughter wanted chicken fingers, but the rest of the family did not! I had the crab torta for an appetizer, while my husband had the octopus arrabiata and our 14 year old had the steak tartare. The torta was acceptable, but not quite as rich and chunky as the crab torta at Capo Restaurant. The octopus was divine - tender and seasoned perfectly. Our daughter loved the tartare. I then had the pasta special for an entree which consisted of lots of mushrooms in linguine with a cream sauce, but found the cream sauce to be a bit too rich and thick for me. My husband had the branzino, which was lightly breaded and pan fried. He found it okay, but said that he prefers branzino cooked whole and baked in foil to preserve its natural flavor. Our 14 year old had the filet mignon chop which she found to be cooked as ordered (rare) and excellent. The waiter brought a chocolate cake with a candle to celebrate our 6 year old's birthday. Great service - attentive and friendly. And yes, the chicken fingers were deemed a success by the birthday girl.

We went to this restaurant as it was close by to our hotel - the dimly lit lights made our chicken look uncooked and red inside which immediately put us off our food. It was also annoying how everytime you had a sip of your drink they filled it back up again. Might be good for locals but doesn't really cater for tourists. Didn't mind paying but begrudged paying the obligatory tip. Felt like the staff paid more attention to the locals rather than us tourists.

This place has a LOT of potential but was a bit disappointing. When we arrived three different waiters asked us for drinks, the same three filtered in and out offering service but after we ordered, they did not bring the requested olive oil nor additional bread nor water. Generally the meals were good, the entire Mediterranean fish dish was overly oily (both fish and sides); my fiancé said the chicken pot pie was very good, the lamb was good and fish and chips were good. As the restaurant got more patrons, the service got slower; We waited an unacceptable length of time for someone to take a desert order. The Creme Brûlée was delicious; the berries and ice cream was delicious as well. They need to fix the service there, the servers who were working were very good and busy, I just think they need an additional one or two. While we did want to visit; it took 2 1/2 hours for supper on Sunday.

Fantastic food and service...hard to believe this is a "local" joint! Terrific food and staff...remarkably wide range menu. From steak to softshell crab. Would definitely return. Reasonable price, perfect ambiance.

Had a family dinner here. I find $19 for a caesar sale obscene and it wasn't that big. Please note 20% added to bills. I am fine with this as service was good.

The Brentwood is one of those restaurants that you wish you could find in every small town. The food is incredibly crafted with everything from small bites, to entree salads, to burgers, to pastas and perfectly cooked steaks and lamb. The bar is impeccably stocked. The service is attentive and five star. Do not miss the Bruschetta. It defies description it is so delicious. We ordered the Filet Mignon chop and the Rack of Lamb with Cacio E Pepe to share. Everything was served perfectly and did not disappoint the taste buds. After one visit, you’ll want to return again and again.

Excellent food, service, cocktails and wine selection. A rare kind of chic old school elegance about this place, while still feeling modern. It must be the excellent service!
Top Notch Dining
We were the first group in the door at 5p.m. on a Wednesday. Traffic was horrendous around the restaurant and we did not see any dedicated parking so we paid $6 to park in a secured lot across the street. The menu at the Brentwood was varied and interesting. We shared the jumbo asparagus as an appetizer. It was large, sweet and tender. The three of us each had the tomato-basil soup which was excellent. I had the duck tacos, one of my companions had a squash ravioli and the other had fettuccine Alfredo. We were all very pleased with our meals. We shared a chocolate bread pudding for dessert. I would have appreciated a little more light.
