Spent all day walking the city, 24K to be exact, and as we were staying at the Hyatt Centric, decided to head to Brick & Beam for a night cap. Lovely atmosphere and decore. Barman was wonderful with a very generous pour. Had a lovely time, didn't order food as already eaten, but definitely a nice place for a drink away from the crowds of Fishermans Warf.

Ignorant staff turned their back on my husband in a wheelchair and did not assist him with seating. Very rude, we do not reccomend.

Located in htl Hyatt Centric fisherman's wharf it is huge and at a prime location. It acts like a secondary seating area during bfast hours and is bar cum restaurant later on. Being the only eating spot in the hotel lot of in-house guests come to pick their food orders. All draft beers are $9, bottled beer$6-8 and cocktails$ 14 Food is priced between$12 to 30. Popular items include chicken wings sliders clams etc The staff is pretty friendly and their are atleast 9 huge TVs including 5-6 over the bar

The food was good, didn't justify the price. The menu is very limited. The service was very minimal. I had a good drink - the "Karl the Fog" - but it didn't seem to have much alcohol in it. Best thing about this place is the ambience.

We stayed for 2 weeks in the Hyatt and thought this restaurant would be ideal but sadly it has a very limited menu for both breakfast and dinner. Prices are a bit dearer than average. Service was OK but we only went there (after the first visit) because we had free drink vouchers for $20 each from the Hyatt. Pity the drinks, if you don't want a cocktail, are about $10 as you waste the remaining value (ie one drink once only) of the voucher.

Went here for dinner on our first night in San Fran, great meal helpful staff, really nice atmosphere.

Ate here when it was Knuckles at Fisherman's Wharf. The food was great then under Chef Jason Lavinsky. It's still good but we miss Jason. The service was a little slow but, I have to admit, it was probably because they were really busy. Our waiter, Lawrence was a wonderful guy. He was very helpful, making sure we had what we need for our toddler, even though this is more a place for adults, but do have a children's menu though. The portions are large, even the small plates. I recommend the sliders. They were juicy and cooked perfectly. We ordered the chicken fingers for our 2 year old and the portion of chicken and fries was huge. Enough for at least two small children. Be sur and ask for Lawrence when you go there.

We stayed at the Hyatt hotel attached to this restaurant and had no issues, however the restaurant experience was completely different. In fairness we tried this place twice and both times the staff didn't care or want to serve. First occasion we thought we would have a drink one evening. We entered and the server of food told us to go to the bar for a drink. We walked to the bar, waited. Eventually we left as the bar staff was too busy having a chat about the NFL game with the guys sat at the other end of the bar. The next occasion we thought we'd try breakfast. On entering we advised the gent who showed us to our table that we didn't want buffet and like to order from the menu. We also confirmed we wouldn't be having coffee. We then sat and waited for 10 minutes to order drinks or food, or even have anyone acknowledge us. We left and went elsewhere. Staff are only offering coffee or buffet breakfast, anything else it seems is not on offer, regardless of what the menu says!

Skip it. Our whole experience was poor, the staff seemed disorganized and frantic although it didn’t appear that busy. We were seated quickly, order was taken and drinks arrived, then we waited and waited. No one came by the table again until we were able to flag down our waiter. He couldn’t even recall that we had placed our order with him! Food then came reasonably fast, but was over cooked and not good. They comped our meal, but I would still skip this place.

Very good bar for after dinner drinks...not the most expensive place either. Great bar staff and you can get a bite to eat here too. We didn’t eat but the food did look really good as the waiters passed by us with loaded plates.as we stayed at the Hyatt centric, this bar which is part of the hotel was perfect for us to end the evenings.great mojitos which is always a good thing for me😊

While visiting San Francisco and staying at the Hyatt Centric Fishermans Wharf location, we decided to try the restaurant in our hotel before bringing our granddaughter back to college. First, we asked our waiter for a Zinfandel, since we didn't see one on the wine list. He brought out one that satisfied our palate, so we proceeded to order off of the small bites menu. We tried the calamari, beef sliders and quesidillas, and all were excellent choices for us. Next time we're visiting this hotel, we'll make sure to visit the Brick and Beam again.

Went in for drinks as was staying in the hotel. Table service was excellent and specialty drinks were presented fashionably and tasted great. Prices a bit on the higher side. Clean and nice ambiance.

Based solely on drinks: ordered an Anchor Coffee Porter. Cold beer, served quickly, fast service. $8 for draft. Convenient to Fishermans Wharf. Friendly servers and host. Excellent atmosphere. TVs if you watch sports. Certainly a cozy, romantic atmosphere, even with the TV. Would return

Great wings and excellent service. The bartender was very friendly and pointed me in many great directions. I was staying at the Hyatt which is connected. Good beer selections and many TVs to watch sports.

Maybe it was an off night...service was not great. Lots of people sitting for drinks but for food service, not the best. . Had dinner here once...not impressed. Had drinks a few times and that was ok. All in all, average rating.

Food was cooked to my perfection. Our waiter was okay. Would go back again. Great location if staying at Hyatt Eccentric Hotel.

Very quaint and rustic bar, with pleasant staff and adjacent to the Wardroom restaurant. Good service and good food. They have large salads as well as burgers and sliders. There are TVs so you don't miss your fav sports.

We were staying close by and rather than use the restaurant in the hotel decided to try elsewhere. Here is a relaxed atmosphere and good , friendly service. Puzzled by one review that mentions lack of water- my glass was filled up by an observant member of staff, without my asking. Endorse the feedback about the chicken, mouthwatering and excellent. Really recommend either for a drink or a meal. Special mention for Patrick who makes everyone feel at ease.

As the restaurant of our hotel next door was closed, we ate breakfast here. The continental buffet had a great range of choices and brought relief from the usual super-sized US portions of everything.

Every meal we had here was terrific....and they cater to all dietary needs. Presentation was top notch and the food is flavoursome. Plenty of bricks, beams and beer for everyone with a variety of draft & bottled brew available. Staff were very friendly and inviting without being overbearing or pushy.

The Brick and Beam is a wonderful place, relaxed atmosphere of a sports bar with the elegance and charm of San Francisco. The waitresses were so friendly and helpful. The menu had a great variety of appetizers soups and meals. From moderate priced items to high priced. We had burgers made to order with fries. Would recommend for small or medium groups.

We (tourists in town for the weekend) popped in for a quick bite and a drink before checking out the Fisherman's Wharf area. The immediate area seemed to be lacking pub-style eateries like this so I was happy to find it. Food was very good and we appreciated the service. I mean, we ate chicken wings and a pizza so I'm not holding it to an exceptionally high standard, but I think it's worth 4 stars out of 5. It certainly beats the Denny's around the corner!

Reasonable food but waiter was uninterested and bordered on being rude. Check bill as we were charged over $5 for ‘other’. When questioned waiter pointed to bill to highlight charge to offset minimum wage!! Needless to say no further tip was given and we will not be back.

Ordered fish and chips fish greasy and tasteless chips truly awful left the lot! Not cheap and not good quality ... so many great restaurants in San Francisco so don't waste your time here! Sports bar good vibe but let down with poor food and drinks choice.

We grabbed a quick bite after we checked in to the hotel (Hyatt Centric). A grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado with a side of shoestring fries hit the spot. The burger was also decent but nothing special. However service was quick, food was good, and nice portions so we could refuel before heading out to sight see! Server was attentive too. We will probably be back to grab a cocktail at the bar! Great location as right in Fisherman's wharf!

We ate at this bar and restaurant twice during our stay in San Francisco. The menu is fairly small but the was was of great quality. The bar had a good selection of beers also.

Typical hotel breakfast. Not too much flavor and very pricey. The French toast wasn’t very good. Wouldn’t recommend for breakfast

The afternoon snack and drink here were good, but service staff didn't know how to answer menu questions. Waitress asked us to pay our bill well before we were ready to leave as she was getting off her shift, which I understand but i hate that. We actually wanted another drink and it was a hassle. She never asked if we wanted anything else.

We stopped by because it was close to the Marriott. Fast service. The fish and chips were good. The hamburger large. Serving sizes large. Several beer options. Prices comparable for SF. I gave one star off for dirty floors.

We had clam chowder, flatbread and capese salad. The salad was not good. But the chowder and pizza were high end bar food. The local beers were good too server was good when around. Too many ppl not enough wait staff

We stayed right across the street at Holiday Inn Express. Brick and Beam was great for a place to wind down, relax with a drink and meal at end of day!

Stopped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The crab and shrimp salad was large and delicious. The service was fast and attentive.

Mmm, not sure where to start! I write on TA to offset those reviews where I think people have been harsh and just out to make a point! I had read about the charges and thought it was exagerated, but not case, we had the same. This night out was for my 50th and we wanted it to be special, which we had every hope it would be. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, in fact the food was awesome! The friendly greeting wasn't quite there and we felt awkward asking for a couple more minutes before choosing, you know so I could savour my birthday!!! By the way the big badge i was wearing was a clue! However, we had a good choice of food and drink to go at with one choosing sliders and the other a great beefburger. The sliders didn't come with anything so we asked if it was possible to have a side of fries (not clear to see on menu), only to be shown another dish that was almost as much as the meal, and too much food in hindsight! We had a couple of the nice ales and a bottle of Prosecco, which toasted the evening well. I wasn't sure on one of the drinks so I asked what 'that was', pointing at the next table, to be met with ' what's what Sir?'. Enough said! Then came the bill, and just like a few others, the odd charges! The waiter couldn't satisfactorily explain and asked if I wanted to see the manager, which didn't make it better. I did manage to get a reduction as I was keen to point out why we were there, but it only covered the tip, which I wouldn't really have paid if I didn't feel obliged. This for me is my 'worst' review as I like to be positive, perhaps just go when other staff are on?! 😢

We went for a couple drinks and an appetizer during happy hour. Really nice inside and good service. The garlic fries were tasty!

Stopped by while on vacation due to close location to our hotel. Upon entering there was a sign that said wait to be seated but not staff in sight. After a short while we were seated by a waiter whom was not overly nice but ok for my standards. I orderd a grilled cheese for $17. The grilled cheese had melted cheese on top which is a decent idea but just tasted burnt and super dry. The salad was a basic side salad you could get anywhere. My husand orderd the fish tacos for $15. The fish smelled really fishy (I know it sounds odd but the fish did not seem fresh). Also the fish pieces were really big on a tiny taco shell making it hard to eat. My husband had to use a fork to eat to avoid a giant mess. The drink menu while large was expensive. I do not know if it is because it was an extension of the hotel (I expect higher prices from hotel restaurants) but I avoided some drinks due to the cost. All cocktails were $14. I did get a nice cider for $6. My husbands beer was $9 on it's own. I was slightly shocked because after staying a week in California no place had drinks priced that high. For the cost of the food and drinks I expected a better experience and more enjoyable food.

Jumped in for a late night snack.... food was amazing (street tacos) and there was a great selection of wine and beers.

I hate to write a bad review but the food was poor. We just stopped in for late light snack. I had meatballs in sauce with fried bread. The plate was too small and the meatballs while tasty were hard on the outside. My wife had the hummus and the flatbread with it was doughy, and her Diet Coke tasted of root beer. Just all kind of strange. The waitress was very kind and tried her best, but somehow the whole place is a bit of a struggle.

All four of us were “Hangry” after a long day of driving! After checking in, we walked conveniently across the street and enjoyed a relaxing warm meal without walking blocks. We make a point to try Calamari wherever we go, and theirs we ranked top of list! Lightly coated, crisp not chewy, the jalapeños added a nice element. Crab clam chowder, was hot and flavorful. Our veggie based diner loved the roasted vegetable rigatoni. Warm, contemporary pub atmosphere. Friendly service as well.

Staff vert slow and rude. Food nothing special. Seems the cops can pop in anytime and get serviced while the patrons have to wait!

Just got back from a lovely 4 day trip to San Francisco we popped in here s few times for a drink and food. Very modern decor and great food! Sliders delicious!!! Good service.

I went across the street from my hotel IHG to the B&B for a beer. Service was instantaneous, and served in an efficient friendly manner. My wife and my friends tried it later for a small meal and we were very satisfied. Our waiter Boris was so friendly and quick on service that we went back every day just to have drinks or snacks served by Boris. He is a. great waiter and remembered our drinks down to the smallest details. I highly recommend this establishment. Downside: Not enough opening hours because it only opens at 17:00 (5 pm) and closes before 22:00 (10 pm).

Stopped in for a light dinner and tried the Margarita pizza. Good size for one person. Bland on flavor and fresh tomatoes were hard. Very thin crust was crisp and not soggy. Nice fresh mozzarella on top.

Great choice for dinner with good service. We are vegetarians and they have relatively great choices.

We have visited Brick and Beam twice during our stay at the Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf. Borh times late evening after day escousrions where other possibilities are short. BaB serves good and tasty food and really good tap beers. Nice and freindly staff. Don't miss Knuckle's, it's worth a visit.

The only reason we ate here was because it was right across from our hotel and it was too late to venture off.. It's really hard to pay full price for 3 little kids to eat. They really need a kids menu.

We were staying at Pier 2620 hotel and asked for a good local place to eat. We walked down a block and had a late dinner. It was excellent! I had nachos. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and the service was good . We would stop here again and eat !

Visited this restaurant as a couple mid week for dinner as it was conveniently located across the road from our accommodation. We ordered a small plate of 2 crab cakes and a steak with frites. For drinks we had 2 x glasses of Guinness and 1 x glass of Hess Sauvignon blanc. Bill came to $107USD before the tip! Although the food was quite nice it was incredibly expensive for the portion sizes. The service was also pretty average. There are much better restaurants to eat at in Fisherman’s Wharf and San Francisco that represent better value for money. Recommend you consider alternatives.

We waited for ages to be acknowledged. People who arrived after us were served before us. I eventually located a menu and it was only then a waiter came to our table. Service was slow, staff indifferent and we have had better food elsewhere

The bar caught our attention with its charming appearance. So we tried it out quickly. It wasn't busy, which we can't explain because we were very cold! The atmosphere was super cozy, the food came quickly and was very tasty. There is a large selection of cocktails and the wine was great. We can only recommend it! - especially compared to other restaurants in the area.

Located at front of the Hyatt Centric, it’s easily accessed and the staff will always find you a table. Food is great, from mini sliders, clam chowder, tomato soup, tacos and their wine selection is great too. Open till late each evening and you can do lunch or just drop in for a quiet drink.

I stopped by here because it was convenient to the hotel. An Old Fashioned was $14, but I'm quickly learning that's the norm around here. The charcuterie platter was extremely generous, I took half of it back to the hotel for breakfast. I would visit this place again!

We had seen and eaten everywhere we had wanted to. From Fisherman's Wharf to Chinatown to Little Italy. On our last night in San Fran we agreed to grab a bit in the hotel restaurant so afterwards we could head to Ghirardelli to pick up Chocolate for the family back home. We shared a hummus appetizer and for dinner my husband ordered a flatbread pizza while I had the fish and chips. All and all the food was very good. We were not at all disappointed. We had a friendly gentleman wait on us. He checked back to see how thing were and then checked back again to see if we needed anymore drinks. I recognize the prices were a bit steep however remember when you are on vacation, location plays into it. I would have been more upset if the food was not good. It was and so if you know what to expect going in you won't be disappointed.

We stayed at Pier 2620 around the corner - but this was our 'local' whilst in San Francisco. Very friendly staff and tasty food. Reasonable prices too.

We called in here last night, Saturday, and found a table for two. Staff member over to attend us nearly immediately. Service was spot on, we ordered nachos as we weren't all that hungry. A good job we decided to just have the one as the portion was huge. Very tasty as well. We will go again before our vacation is over, revommendation enough.

We have been here a couple of times during our holiday. It’s a great bar for a drink, good atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. A varied selection of drinks and cocktails. The food was good we had was tasty, reasonably priced. The only criticism and the reason I’ve not given it 5 starts is that the seating is so uncomfortable, there isn’t a comfortable seat in the place, and we have tried them all. We could have spent much more time in here if the seating was a touch more comfortable.

After flying in to LA from Brisbane, Australia, this was my first night on holiday after riding motorcycles up from LA to San Francisco and what a lovely way to end a very tiring day/days. Food and service in this restaurant (recommended to me by my cousin Rachel Rawlins) was excellent and the host (owner or manager?) was so friendly and accommodating. Blue Moon beers he recommended were excellent too. Great venue right on Fisherman's Wharf. Highly recommend.

We came to this place for dinner because we were staying at the Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf, which is attached to this restaurant. There was no receptionist. One of the waiters just pointed to a table and told us to sit down there. Once we Sat down, the long wait started. No one came to greet us. We waited for about 15 minutes until my wife stood up to get some water for ourselves. That alerted another waiter to give us the water and took our other. More waiting. Food did not arrive until for another 20 minutes. My wife ordered the hamburger and I had the shrimp pasta. To be fair, the food was good. After the food was consumed, we asked for the bill. A waitress took our request but we just waited there for nothing. That was another 10 minutes until we saw another waiter for our bill. The bill finally came 5 minutes later. Again, the food was good but the service was poor. The waiters and waitress were inattentive. No one came in the middle of our meals to ask us how everything was going. This is why I said: Come only if you are not in a hurry.

Just around the corner from Pier 2620 hotel provides an excellent breakfast before going on day trips.

My husband and I stopped in here for a late dinner after a 4 hour flight from Detroit. Our diner and drinks were good and the service was great. We enjoyed the environment and the short walk back across the street to our hotel. Would definitely eat here again.

We stayed next door at the Hyatt and called in here for drinks. The happy hour which is daily gives you great drinks options for 5 dollar beers. There's a large selection of local beers and plenty of wine to choose from. The bar tenders are very friendly only downside is there's no outside seating area.

This place only has a limited / simple menu but everything that I have tried was excellent. While not inexpensive by most standards it is as low priced as you wil find in this neighborhood for a quality hamburger or a complete breakfast.

Food was excellent and staff were friendly. Restaurant had a nice feel about it. We would definitely recommend, glad we went early as it did get busy but it is attached to the Hyatt hotel. Only downside was that service was slow & we asked for juice and chased it up with 2 different staff members (so we asked for it 3 times) and it didn’t arrive until we’d nearly finished our food.

Although we did not order any food, we came to this restaurant for drinks 2 times since it was right in our hotel (Hyatt Centric). We always had great service at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly.

My wife and I were at this restaurant because it was next to our hotel (Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf). The atmosphere of the place was chill and laid back. Its brick walls brought a warm and comfortable feel. We had garlic fries (appetizer), chicken melt with a salad (entrée), and Angus beef burger with a salad (grass feed). Overall, the food was a little above average. The waiter(s) was friendly and professional. You have to sit yourself, but it was fine finding a table.

Used this restaurant when staying at the Hyatt Centric. Found the food to be very nice and tasty for both breakfast and dinner but a bit on the expensive side. Good selection to choose from and portions were a good size. Seating area is a nice a space.

Conveniently located connected to Hyatt Centric at Fishermans Wharf. Great full bar and menu items. Wings, Nachos, burgers were all hot and delicious. Service was excellent also.

Not even staying at this hotel, came in for the Wyoming vs Oregon game...manager Silver was fantastic and very welcoming..great upscale sports atmosphere and the staff is all fantastic!! Good job Silver! The owners should be proud of you! You are running a great place! I own two restaurants where I'm from and only wish I had more like you to take care!!

We arrived at this restaurant by appointment. Arriving the waiter Mr Lawrence answered us with a question in a strong way> "Are you hungry? So ask soon as the kitchen would close in 3 minutes". Even after being treated this way, we placed our order. A while later came back and said if we had already chosen a drink. I asked for a minute to finish choosing. 10 minutes later when he came to take the drink order, he warned us it would be the last chance to order it. With an unfriendly "last call for drinks" and the restaurant was not yet closed. We arrived at 23 and the restaurant would open until 1:00 am. I asked him why he was nervous because he had not been polite to us at any time. We gave up on dinner there. We spoke to the manager, but we would like to reinforce through this our discontent. It seems that he does not like English speaking tourists. Gra, with Lawrence, never be met by him.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. We stopped in for a beer and I was surprised at the variety of local draft beers. Bartender was friendly and helped with local directions. Highly recommended!

The food here is average to poor but the service is great. The staff was very helpful and attentive but there’s not much help for the food. All dry and over cooked.

Would recommend this restaurant, lovely decor and atmosphere, sort of sports bar come restaurant. Cocktails are lovely as is the food and all reasonably priced.

The weather was awful so we decided to eat at the hotel where we were staying. After waiting about 20 minutes, a server finally came to take our drink order. We ordered sliders, a Cobb salad and the Greek flatbread. The food was just ok. The glass of wine I ordered 20 minutes after sitting down came out after the food. They weren’t that busy, and there were several empty tables around. Overall, there are many other great places within walking distance that are better. Recommendation: Skip Brick and Beam if the weather is nice.

Patrick was a great mixologist for us today. The old fashion was really really good. The menu was good and the food was above average. If you’re around the fisherman wharf area recommend you stop by.

Came for a quick bite with my husband. Server was nice but service was very slow. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza and it was decent, my husband’s dinner was average. Pretty place but average food/service.

I went in the Brick & Beam to have a light meal ... a sandwich. Selected the chicken sandwich. When it arrived and I lifted the top, the bun was so burned that it is a disgrace that any cook (specifically not using the word chef) would pass this on to a customer. It shows a complete disrespect for the customer and the products served. No work ethic whatsoever. By the time the waitress asked if all was ok, I had put it to one side and tried to make the best of the rest. She picked the burned bun with her fingers from my plate while I was still eating and went off to the kitchen. She came back offering 20% discount because "she could not find the manager". Where are these managers when they are supposed to take responsibility for the products served? Anyway, I simply took the discount and left feeling totally underwhelmed with Brick and Beam. Thanks but no thanks ... won't try my luck there again. Picture of the delicious bun attached.

excellent choices on a big menu. big burgers, sandwiches and more. great service. well located to the hotel and the perfect place for a pre tour lunch / fill up

We had breakfast here. It took 15 minutes to receive a menu. No water was offered. No follow up service to see if we needed anything which we did. Food was very good.

We ate there and the food was delicious and it was such a fun atmosphere. It was very clean and plenty of tvs for the sports enthusiasts.

Extremely disappointed that the only seafood they had was salmon, fish/chips and clam chowder. If your name has Fisherman’s Wharf, then I would think you would have some good seafood. It was late when we checked in advance very windy and did not feel like walking to the pier, so we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. I had the salmon , which was flavorless to me and my mom had the fish/chips. The fish was over fired and very dark brown. The chowder was in large bowls, a meal by itself. I would have likes the server to have warned us of the size. Everything was served in plastic to-go containers, even though many other restaurants in San Francisco were serving on “regular” plates again. Staff was not friendly and acted as if we were an effort for them to wait on. I did not see one staff member smile the entire time.

We ate here on our last night in san Francisco and it was definitely worth it! i had the chicken burger with the rosemary infused fries, and a Caesar salad to share between us which was incredibly tasty. for dessert we had the chocolate mousse which was incredibly delicious but i would recommend sharing between 2.

We had dinner here on this trip when we just wanted something quick and simple. Bar food and OK. Then we decided to try it for breakfast as a change of pace. Mistake. In my business travel days I often stayed at Hyatts and always was satisfied if not impressed. This one, at least as far as the Brick and Beam is concerned, is certainly not up to anyone's standard. Extremely disorganized. We got up to walk out because we did not see any servers for a long time. I wish we had escaped but got caught at the door and then signed up for the buffet. Second mistake. Poor selections and limited ones. The choice of fruit and other items minimal as was the quality. Don't go here for the breakfast buffet. I used to opine that nobody could screw up breakfast. Wrong about that too.

We arrived around Sunday lunch, we had friends who arrived before us and already had a couple of drinks. They were told to sit down as they weren't allowed to sit at the bar even though several people were watch the football. We joined them for drinks and also had some food, I had the margarita pizza which in my opinion was nothing special but another in our group said it was nice. We were all ordering separately and drinks were brought separately but when we received the bills we found all the bills had a 5 or more 18% tax added. This was even added to our friends who had 2 rounds of drinks on there own. Complaining was a waste of time as we were more than 5 people. A US couple behind us were also not happy due to them having 3 children with them and getting the 18% charge. The second visit we stood at the bar, got our own drinks to avoid the charge but as our crowd got larger the woman behind the bar got more infuriated with us and asked us to sit down. after we sat down we continued to get our own drinks from the bar only now at the disgust of the servers who were expecting their tip for serving us and stared at us as if we were criminals. So, overall not a good experience.

The breakfast is very basic and bland. Nothing special. However, evening drinks are good here. Has a nice bar with a decent beer selection. Wines are limited.

We visited here twice for drinks and a snack whilst visiting San Fransisco. 1.Big screen TV's for your sport, but not invasive and loud so you can still have a great evening without the noise. 2. Lovely gentleman server, very attentive to our needs 3. A gentleman (who looked like the boss) noticed our drinks were nearly empty and sent a server over for us immediately Lovely atmosphere, not fine dining but that's not what we were there for. Great interior.

If you stop, try their crab clam chowder in the bread bowl! The pizza and burger sliders were good too. The bartender is very friendly and helpful on where to go and what to bring.

We tried to get a meal here on our first night in San Francisco. We had a drink at the bar first which was fine, and then asked for a table for dinner. After waiting to be seated, we were told to " sit anywhere" , took a vacant table, and sat and sat and sat. Eventually we asked a passing waiter for some menus which he eventually brought us, and again, sat and sat and sat, being totally ignored, we could not get any attention at all, and it was a week night and was not at all busy. Would not recommend this restaurant. We left and ate elsewhere.

I like Brick and Beam. It has never been overly busy, the fish and chips are good and you have many different types of seats to choose from - whether sitting at the bar, next to the fireplace or a proper table. My mom and I came here a few times and found the staff friendly and funny. It's a nice place to come and watch some sports or just chill. Not too busy for its location.

Though we were staying at a hotel nearby, we were delighted to find this restaurant around the corner from us. (It it technically linked to the Hyatt Centric Hotel.) We loved the tuna poke plate - very fresh and flavorful. The beef hamburger was also tasty and came with a massive amount of freshly made French fries. The staff is likely understaffed, but they were very pleasant and as efficient as possible. Though we wouldn’t ordinarily be drawn to another hotel’s restaurant, we are so glad we stopped here.

We came in on a Sunday morning to eat breakfast and watch football game. The breakfast area was open but the area to watch the game wasn’t. Rodrigo (I hope I remembered his name, manager on duty), accommodated our party to sit and watch game while eating our breakfast. And to top it off, food was delicious

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric and instead of starting the day with breakfast, we opted to wait until 11 AM for when Brick and Beam opened for lunch and I'm so glad we did. That way we can combine two meals into one and stay full longer throughout the day for exploring. Hubby got the nachos that were piled high. I got the 'Classic' or pepperoni pizza. We devoured everything (hefty portions) but then really didn't have to eat a big dinner. Service was fine, we were in and out on our timeline. Cute atmosphere. There are protesters outside this hotel periodically and the day we dined unfortunately was no exception. Such a shame because this place is worth a stop in for a mea.

The Crab and Shrimp Louie Salad was awesome. They have a wide variety of beers and specialty drinks. I only wish that I didn't have a meeting later in the day so I could partake.

Decor and atmosphere fantastic. All staff friendly and helpful. Drink options immense and food quality great. Does not feel like the usual bland business like hotel bars this place feels independent with a good vibe. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the food options are a bit limited.

Stopped in for a quick drink and was greeted by friendly bartenders. The two gentlemen behind the bar couldn’t have been any nicer. Just had a few drinks and an appetizer which was very good. We even stopped the next night for a drink.

This is a.very clean and safe place. Menu is limited and drinks are pricey. If you are staying in the area it would be worth a try.

Try some place else. It’s not worth the cost. The service was great but the food was not at all close to what you pay for. Just don’t do it. Try Dennie’s, mo better.

The service is terrific, friendly and quick, and the waiters and waitresses work with you to satisfy your dietary constraints. Food was very tasty the first night and portions are better than many restaurants. The second night the food was a bit over cooked and therefore dry. The atmosphere is fun filled and lively. The restaurant is also convenient to Fisherman’s Wharf. I believe it’s worth a try.

We came here for an early lunch while staying in the hotel. The nachos were not bad or super amazing. I would recommend you order the pizza over most items on the menu. Pizza is one item that San francisco does extremely well so take advantage of that niche. IT's a great sports bar and has lots of great beer choices as well.

We liked this place. Done out in the style of a Sport's bar with plenty of huge screens everywhere, we frequented for three nights running whilst in the city staying at the Hyatt. It was the perfect place for us to kick back for a few drinks at the end of a long day and evening. The waiting staff were particularly friendly- in fact service was excellent. We tried the flatbread and that too was very tasty. Our kind of place.

The Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Hyatt perfect after a hard days touring when you don’t feel like venturing too far.Good selection of food & drinks to suit everyone and the bonus is if you eat & drink too much you don’t have far to get to your bed.

Great traditional US food, large portions and plenty of sport shown in every direction. What more could you want from a restaurant?!

pros..nice surroundings, good beer choice, good food, cons..pricey,bad attitude of morgan freeman wannabe waiter, tax, tax ,tax then tip, really

Lovely place! Does amazing food until really late.. I think we got there about 1030 and they sat us down and ordered no problem.. people were coming in after us too and still being served!

Only had burgers and fries but was looking forward to chocolate mousse for dessert. It was more like gelatin which had been defrosted. For $10 I expected to be impressed.

Did not order food, our hotel was across from this place. All I can say is Killer Margaritas! Killer Margaritas! Killer Margaritas! Killer Margaritas! Killer Margaritas! Killer Margaritas! Killer Margaritas! Oh did I say Killer Margaritas! Go!

I don't understand how people can give this place 5 stars. Do they only eat at McDonald's? Do they not value their money? $8 for a beer. Total price for 2 beers, appetizer and pizza was about $50. This place doesn't even try. Food was not good. And they add some b.s. "misc" tax that ever the bartender admitted was a joke. I should have known better.

Great atmosphere with amazing food! The fried chicken is the best my hubby had ever experienced. This is a fun establishment just off N Point Street and is near to gift shops.

This restaurant is a little overpriced for the food quality that you get. We had the chicken sandwich & nachos at our table. Nothing to write home about.

It looked nice from outside, however a different story inside. After waiting for a table for 5, we were placed on 2 different tables. The main menu has meals mostly over $20-30 for regular meals. When the food came, the pasta looked good but the pizza was very small, worse than kids size. The pasta was decent but the pizza was just ok. When the bill came, it had a hidden added extra of about 15% for ‘large parties’ - 5 or more people! The only notice of this was at the bottom of the menu in the tiny writing.(check photos) Also, they attempted to add a large service charge without our consent. When we challenged this, part of it was very reluctantly removed. This place relies on unsuspecting people and tourists to overcharge them. I highly recommend this to be avoided.

Inside the Hyatt hotel, a good honest American bar with good food. Pretty broad menu with plenty on offer at reasonable prices. Service was very good.

We where staying directly across the street at the Holiday Inn, so perfect location for afternoon refreshments and drink and a second visit for evening cocktail before bed. Very popular sports bar, with cold beer, great appetizers and service. We had the same server on our second visit (the following day) and we where amazed he remembered us and even what we ordered (right down to my brand of wine) Highly recommend this place.

Patrick was amazing. Great barman, welcomed us into the Brick and Bream with the finest Irish charm. Didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food but the drinks were👌

We were looking for a quiet place and a nice burger. We found both! Our server (wish I could remember her name) was super attentive and very, very kind. The atmosphere was great for my Mom and I, individuals with take out, and families. I'd go again.

Servers were great, fruit very fresh and offering of eggs and meat on the buffet very nice. It was $24 pp, so not bad!

From the outside, this place looks a lot more expensive than it is. Food was excellent and was a good value compared to other restaurants in the area. Nicely appointed inside with a firepalced sitting area.

Food was outstanding. Staff was friendly and helpful. They do require masks regardless of vaccinations. Annoying but whatever. Just one thing, they hover around the table to clear it while your still eating or finishing your drink. This is expected if the restaurant was full but it was nearly empty. Felt kinda rushed. But still, an excellent place.

First stop after checking in. Good choice of good cold beer. Takes to owner who had same last name. Got an order of fish and chips, which was enough for both of us. Nice and crispy cod.

The food and service we had here were good, but here's the issue - which won't affect many but is worth noting. Our waiter informed us that the choices that were listed as vegan, or vegan possible, were cooked in the same oil/cooker as other products and he would therefore say they were not vegan. My vegan wife was very appreciative of the info, but it severely limited her choices. A fine place to eat for others, just something worth keeping in mind.

Based on the food this place should get 5 but it doesn’t for 2 tactics that they employ First one is that if you ask for a spirit and mixer during the meal you will get the expensive one unless you specifically ask for ‘well’, second tactic is if you are a group of 4 and you meet up with another group of 4 already in there drinking then they will now class you all as a large group even when drinking separately, meaning you get the 18% service charge plus tax automatically added to your bill. Just something to watch! The food is pretty good and decent portions - standard bar type food, fish and chips, burgers , nachos etc

Went for super. Ordered and food wasnt coming. Asked the waitress and she hadn't turned our order in. Waitress said "sorry the cooks have gone home" we were there 1 1/2 hours before closing

Went here as it looked quite nice and the menu options looked ok, but also because it was pouring rain and walking distance from our accommodation. The food was presentable and ok, the service was ok, but overall not the best value for money compared with elsewhere.

We had a great time here, the Irish bartender making us smile throughout our meal. The food was ok, the wine lovely. But it was the bartender who made the room sparkle. We were just one of several groups he entertained as he worked the room.

Sports bar and Gastro pub is great idea and location, however, only 2 servers were on floor. Manager did best he could to assist. Revenue losses due to only getting to order one drink must really hurt business. Suggestion: I recommend this place but peek in to see if adequate staff is on floor.

Great food, friendly and attentive service. Interesting beers. What more do you need? Great spot for a burger in an area that is packed with touristy places that are hard to choose between. Do not be put off because it is part of a hotel. Rosemary fries were particularly good. Beware no children’s menu though.

Great place down close to fisherman's wharf. Not terribly priced for the location. Great atmosphere and my waitress was phenomenal!! The food was AMAZING

It seemed like a typical hotel attempt at a sports bar, so my expectations were low. And still I was disappointed. The service was slow--very slow--and quite detached. The food arrived cold, and after it was sent back, it returned warm, not hot. Better take your chances with one of the places directly on the waterfront. I am being generous with the 2/5 rating.

I ordered the plain pepperoni pizza. For the price I received a small pizza that literally could have been made at home with a chef boarded kit. My wife got a chicken sandwich which was ok. One in my party got the rigatoni, which had onions that aren't listed on the menu. Simply, there are so many better options in san fran. Beer prices are fair an our waiter was nice. So good atmosphere but strongly recommend you skip the food.

Had our fish & chip meal there, it came with three pieces of fish on top of lots of chips ,very enjoyable didn’t think I would finish it,but I did just manage it.

We recently ate at the Brick and Beam at the Hyatt. The Restaurant is very cute. The ambiance is great and the food and service were pretty good as well. One thing I had a problem with was all the EXTRA unknown charges that came with the bill. We were a family of 5 and got charged an 18% large party service charge ( NOT A TIP CHARGE). I'm used to the extra charge when you have parties of 6 or more here in LA. In addition to that, we were charged another unknown fee of $23 and a separate San Francisco Healthy Food Fee. When we asked the waitress about the $23 fee, she couldn't really explain it and said its just something stupid the restaurant does. WTF?!? We left her a tip on top of the 18% and additional fees we were charged, but needless to say, we will not be back.

The restaurant food was perfect, the burger that my husband had was cooked perfect. Calamari was excellent. Dessert amazing, we went two times just to double check SN the second time around the same amazing food. Service was awesome, they really take care of you.

We had been up very early traveling and needed a little more time before getting the kids to bed. We were staying close by and decided to give this a try. Upon arriving we were able to have a table cleared and seated relatively promptly. While being seated I had to ask for the table be cleaned again and the chairs wiped off. There was visible food on my chair which was not very appealing. I had to ask for an additional chair to seat our party of seven adequately. Our party was four adults and three small children all 12 or under. When the drink order was taken we ordered three waters for the table in addition to our drink order. The drink order came out and immediately the food came out. We had no plates, no additional napkins, and still waiting on the water. I eventually had to go to the food pickup area to ask for dishes and again for three waters. We never saw the waiter again except when dinner was over. I had to get up and help ourselves to additional napkins because our waiter was nowhere to be seen. Anyone can attest nachos and wings don't fare well with kids and three napkins. I was willing to let the water order go until one of the girls asked for some water. We again had to ask for water at the food station and after 5 minutes with all the food gone and ready to pay the bill we got water. I then even had to wave down the waiter to get his attention so I could pay and leave. When I got the bill I was shell shocked. To pay $12.50 for an oversized party, $12 as a service charge and receive that kind of poor service was ridiculous. And that's on top of tax. The extra fees were 30 percent of the bill. I don't mind paying for services but when it's that poor there is no way I would recommend this restaurant. I have written many reviews and unfortunately this I have to rate as the worst service ever while traveling on vacation.

Great bar/restaurant, nice chilled atmosphere. Food very good and nice cocktails, there is also a happy hour. The best thing about this place is Nancy the waitress she is lovely such a nice chatty lady she made us feel so welcome. Please pass our thanks on to her.

Servers are really unfriendly! Orders completely messed up, coz they don’t take down the order properly or possibly make them in a hurry. Got a burger that turned out inedible. Bad experience . Think twice or if this is the only option!

First, the service was just ok. Never refreshed my coffee, but this is more of a sports bar than restaurant. Second food was better than expected after seeing some of the reviews. I had home fried chicken and it was good, tons of mashed potatoes and veggies. Husband had pan seared salmon, it was just ok. Drinks are fabulous, but we came here literally because it was so close and we just didn't want to walk far.

The Brick & Beam serves tasty hamburgers considering that it is a hotel restaurant. Also the beers available give good options to complement the food. However prices are high as expected.

Stayed at the Hyatt for a week in May, the staff here are exactly what is wrong with the service industry in the USA. Tips are discretionary and not required by law but the staff here expect it and for woeful service. I don’t mind tipping at all, but if you cant even converse with me and be polite, you can forget about it!! 18% service charge on drinks if the party is over 5 because you won’t allow us to go to the bar ourselves is also a joke!!! Food, I don’t mind, but drinks, what a crock!!! Loved San Francisco but the expectation of tips was a joke!!

After our two dinner restaurants turned out to be closed on Tuesdays, we settled for Brick and Beam across the street from our hotel. The Fish and Chips were greasy and the least favorite meal of our trip. Crab and Clam Chowder also was non-memorable. So many other places on the wharf to go, but for convenience it worked before heading to the hotel for the night.

We arrived at our hotel in Fisherman's Wharf and found this restaurant/bar nearby. Ordered the Prosciutto/Roasted Garlic/Arugula Pizza that was to die for! The best thin crust pizza I've ever had and preoaref with excellent quality ingredients. (Restaurant is with the Hyatt Centric.)

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior of this pub/sports bar. Whenever someone asks you “how would you like burger cooked” you can expect a superior quality burger and this place did not disappoint. Fries are also excellent. Beer was cold and the service was also excellent.. Enjoy!!

Great little sports bar to watch the game on and have a snack and a beer or cocktail. Nice bartender!

I will never come again it was horrendous it charged a cheeky extra tip hidden within it and is awfully overpriced food and portions were tiny!!

Went in after a Warriors game and kitchen was kind enough to stay open and cook us up some burgers and fries. Cooked to perfection! Patrick was a fun bartender too.

This is a lovely bar. Its not that big so getting a seat might be an issue. We stayed at the hotel for two nights and the second night we couldn't go here as there just wasn't any room. Its clean and lively and has a decent drinks list. I had a cocktail called the Golden Gate which was scrumptious. The staff are friendly and efficient. We only had drinks so I can't tell you what the food was like.

My wife and I came to eat here, mostly due to it's location next to our hotel. However, I was incredibly happy that we did, as it far surpassed my expectations. My wife had a cheeseburger that was fine, if nothing special. My meal was a flatbread meatball sandwich/pizza hybrid that was fantastic. The waiter was also great. His name eludes me as I'm writing this, but he was great. Friendly, not pushy, and full of great suggestions. The wine/drink list had a good selection, but the beer list was a touch limited compared to other places we went. The pricing was right in line with everything else in this area, which is to say, not cheap. Good food comes with a higher cost, but everything in SF has an exaggerated cost now. We were here for lunch, and didn't have to wait to get a table. We walked past this location several times later at night and it was very busy.

Our first night in SF and, as we were still getting our bearings and needed to find somewhere that could accommodate my fussy eating habits, we decided on Brick and Beam as it wasn't far from our hotel. Food was ok if a little on the pricey side for what it was (I had a pasta dish which was about the only thing I could eat but more than I would typically pay at home for similar). Part of the priciness was down to it being a hotel restaurant - something we had not realised before we ordered. Be warned though - this is an extremely cheeky restaurant and when we retold this tale to other non-SF US citizens even they were shocked. So, unlike in the UK, the menu prices are NOT what you pay. You have to remember to add the food tax on top. No problem - we were expecting that. BUT in SF they also have the SF healthy tax (no-one outside of SF has heard of this but Google it - you're basically contributing to employee health care costs). Now we also knew tips are the norm in the US. We tip in the UK too but usually rounding the bill up. The bills in the US come with tip recommendations (15, 18 and 20%) but that's precisely what we thought they were - recommendations. So I rounded the bill up (let's be honest, it wasn't that great q service) and handed the receipt back to the waiter - who actually had the cheek to tell me I hadn't given him enough tip. He expected at least the 15%. I was too shocked to tell him where he could stick the rest of his tip so I complied but oh my word that was rude. Be warned.

Returned this week from a trip to San Francisco & I stayed at the Hyatt At Fisherman's Wharf & had the pleasure of eating at Brick and Beam. I ate there twice during the week, first at the bar then at a table. On both occasions I was impressed with the staff & the service they provided. The food was delicious & was a variety of different comfort foods as well as some excellent beers on tap. Great hotel & location but also a great restaurant, I will return.

So we're staying at the Hyatt and this place has been awesome for drinks during down time or after dinner. There is a great bartender, don't know his name, but he's originally from Ireland...great, great service from him and the only reason this review isn't a 2 star. The problem was this place as a restaurant. We had breakfast here and I ordered eggs Benedict. My food came out cold and the eggs were exceptionally overdone. Like poached to hard-boiled. When I finally got the waitress' attention and told her (I was expecting an "oh I'm sorry, let me take that and get you new eggs"), she left my plate and went to have the cooks just make me eggs, BUT before she took them she said, "well how did you WANT them cooked?" I said "the way poached eggs are supposed to be" and she said "yeah, but how is that?" So I explained they should be runny and she left me there with my plate. Probably 8 minutes later she came back with a bowl of poached eggs sitting in water and said, "there you go, you can replace the overlooked ones with these". At that point I was irritated that I had to assemble my own breakfast (I'm on vacation, not trying to make my own food here) but on top of that, she never brought me fresh (warm) hollandaise and by then the English muffin was completely saturated and mushy from having been on the plate for probably at least 15-20 minutes. For the cost of breakfast ($80 for 3 meals) I expected waaay better. Skip Brick and Beam for meals but definite stop in for a drink.

The brick and beam looks the part and the food isn’t awful but that’s about it. It’s so over priced it’s crazy and the service was abysmal. Possibly the worst I’ve had in USA ever and I’ve been travelling to us for 17 years now. Just unpleasant and grumpy . Table next to ours actually refused to pay and asked to speak to the manager which was probably the right thing to do but I chose to pay minimum tip and left ASAP. Don’t waste your time in this place when there are so many other great places to eat in San Francisco

I am only reviewing the bar and drinks. The two times I went both bartenders were great the "new guy"( been there 16 years) was very fun to talk with. Decent prices on beer other drinks a bit pricey

Nice hotel bar with attentive bar staff. The food looked good but we only had drinks. Loads of sports on multiple TVs.

In Fisherman's wharf, this restaurant is integrated into the Hyatt Centric, but accessible from the street. The cuisine is classic American/Italian, with acceptable prices. Service a bit long, even if the staff are dedicated. Frame a little old, very high ceiling, all brick

This restaurant was conveniently located within walking distance of our hotel. We stopped in one night for dinner. It is a sports bar type place. The food was good and reasonably priced.

Nice pub ambience. Menu is limited but items are very good. Fish and chips were served piping hot and beer batter had great flavor. Fries are frozen. Sliders were juicy and delicious. Apple blossom desert was very good. Service is OK. Prices are fair.

We ate here twice as it was convenient when we were too tired to go far as we were staying across the road at the Holiday Inn. The food was nice and the portions were generous but a little overpriced for what it was. The only downside were the miserable staff. Before we visited San Francisco we were told how friendly it was, well someone should tell that to the staff here as they obviously didn’t get the memo on that one! Also, I don’t need it pointing out to me that there is a guide to service charges on the bill. I can read and know how to tip and perhaps being a little more cheerful might result in a better one!

Good beer selection, good building and interior, good staff and clean. Plenty of sports screens too. A hotel bar which should stand alone as it’s own establishment. It’s a beautiful building inside but with such an empty industrial style and size space it feels like there is no atmosphere. Drop a pin and it can be heard. Just a little higher volume music, more chat with the staff or something would make a huge difference to the place and wake it up a little :)

This was a great bar right near our hotel in the Wharf area. I chose it because it had good reviews, but also thought it looked like a fun place to hang out. Lots of televisions to watch different sports. The staff was very friendly. Great drink selection, and good food menu. I would go there again. I loved the brick on the inside of the building. The lighting and the bar were pretty!

I think this used to be Knuckles Bar. We had pizza here and breakfast one morning. Also went to the bar one night. Patrick the bartender was very nice. Reasonable prices. It is part of the Hyatt.

Great customer service. Limited menu. Grilled Chicken sandwich excellent! Burger was good. Bun was stale. It was a good choice because close to hotel!

We ate here twice during our visit to San Fran - it's easy and low key. One night we did artisan cheese platter and charcuterie platter (yummy), the other night fish and chips. Both were good - if a bit pricey, service was ok - certainly not hovering over us. The neighborhood has a lot of homeless that show late at night, so staying close to the hotel is very handy. If you're looking for gourmet, take a cab elsewhere, otherwise try the Brick and Beam

this is a bar/restaurant that has quite a few TV's for watching the game. food is fine, not great but perfect for a low-budget meal.

Looking for a late night snack. We Had the street cod tacos and pepperoni pizza and some beers. Hit the spot. Very good service and food

Really great atmosphere, food and drink. Waiter service was superior. It was a great friendly place to go

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric which is attached to this restaurant. Our first night we were tired after a day of biking and didn't want to venture far. We went here not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of their food. They had everything from small appetizers to plated meals and we were able to vanquish our ravenous appetites (there are a lot of hills to bike in SF!) with excellent food. Three nights later we needed a restaurant for a post-theatre late meal. They were perfect for that as well.

Not a long review…..We and our friends won’t be returning…..21 dollars for 2 large lagers! Seemed friendly enough but our first taste after 17 hours here turned out to be a “ Bitter “ experience indeed!
Good Food and Atmosphere
We had called in for drinks and lunctime and liked the look of the place so decided to have dinner there the same evening. The atmosphere was good and service was prompt and efficient. The food was very good but it's not the cheapest, though that is not to say it was overpriced. I mention this only in response to a previous reviewer who seems to have paid over the odds. I would say the food is good but it's quite expensive but bearing in mind the popularity and demand of the area, it is about the norm.
