A friend of mine recommended this spot and I'm glad we stopped by. If you really like beer, this spot is for you, but they do also offer a good whiskey and liquor selection. My wife and I visited for a late dinner and made it just in time before the kitchen closed. The lamb burger was phenomenal and will definitely fill you up. Wish I had more room to fit some more beers because their selection of local craft brews was awesome. Can't wait to come back one day and try out the fish and chips.

I come from Grand Rapids which is home of Hop Cat, voted one of the best beer bars in the country/world. Honestly there was a lot that I did not recognize at Brouwers because it was lots of west coast stuff, but our table tried several things and all were great. I had the cheese plate which had some very good selections in it. Others had the mussles and frites which also were very good. I would recommend this bar if you are looking for a local selection of beers without going all over town. They also have a huge bottle selection, including some rather rare bottles. I have to assume given their selection, they are pretty pricey. I did also see some high-IBU seasonal beers that really should have been consumed by now. Even refrigerated the flavors will be really faded by now.

My husband and I ate here when strolling around charming Fremont. A local recommended it and we're so glad they did! It doesn't look like much from the outside and we may have missed it otherwise! Transported to Belgium with bangers and mash and a delicious Croque Monsieur. Couple beers on tap each and we were ready for more sightseeing!

Best (and ever rotating) beer selection in Seattle. Better than expected Belgian food, but usually only order a frites and a pint.

Pro tip - ask for the full beer menu, they aren't on the tables. Great place. A 2 level pub with great ambiance and good service. Superb beer selection. Very nice European food. A must visit in the Fremont area.

Sweet decor, awesome draft beer list, but a place with this many taps should seriously have a beer tasting option. I am here for the first time with my fiancé today... Was immediately impressed when I walked in the door, but that went away when our bartender said there was no option for tasting different beers on tap. She finally let us try two, but she acted like it was a huge inconvenience, so that kind of took the fun out of it... Ended up settling for two unknowns that weren't very good unfortunately... This was not a very fun experience

The beer selection was grand. The Mussels wee good but the fries are the best. Don't skip the fries.

Perfect combination of lengthy beer offerings and great food made for a really enjoyable afternoon. Very nice outdoor courtyard dining area.

No reservations, but we didn't have a problem getting a table even on a Saturday night. Beer is done right, with a massive selection and always served in the right glass. The Steak and Frites is great. I had the domestic Kobe and my wife had the NY, I really liked mine. Fries had a little too much seasoning for me, but they were great. I guess I didn't realize 80's music is hip again. I really liked the music they played. The staff was great.

Cool, friendly and lively joint. Excellent beers selection and super knowledgeable staff not trying to impress but trying to inspire. Had the mussels and frites + croque monsieur. All were good and tasty and served witht eh right attitude and mayonaise :) The terrasse is surrounded by walls from the industrial era of the building while the inside is typical wood / pub like decor. Friendly and fun.perfect to share some drinks with friends.

I really like the beer selection. The server was very knowledgeable. The food choices are too heavy for my tastes. I had a stew that was served over fries. Too many fries; not enough stew.

Great Beer Selection. One of my favorite bars in Seattle. The food selection is good.

The Stoofvlees may have been the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. Good atmosphere and a great selection of beers and ciders.

Both my friend and I got the “stoofvlees” because we’re fans of it in our home country. It tasted really good and I would recommend to get it here! Respecting their name they have a great selection of beer. We both tried out a few of them and they’re definitely worth it!

Came in for happy hour and had such a great time! So many amazing beers on tap and bottled that it was almost overwhelming, however, we had such a helpful bartender (I wish I had caught her name but she had bright teal hair).

First visit was with friends from out of state. There were 5 of us and it was a Friday night so we anticipated a wait most anywhere we pick that serves beer. We were unprepared for the "seat yourself" sign when entering. It was busy and we initially worried finding a table impossible. Not so. By the time I had selected from wonderful selections of beer at the bar and the first choice poured our table was found. Everyone we interacted with was nice and professional. Beer choices are impressive, even the choices on tap impressive. Food was good, large servings, great fries (try the dipping sauces) and all in all a great experience. The atmosphere is nice, not too loud for how busy it was and I personally loved the music playing.

Probably should seek Seattle beer instead of Belgian beer in Seattle, but that's what they try here. Food was decent and if you want foreign beer, try this.

great selection of brews, but their waitresses all look alike and are almost all rude and slow. they close their kitchen way too early, yet it's always busy and crowded. I cite this restaurant in explaining my general distaste for Fremont.

Wow, wonderful selection of beers and scotch! The lamb burger with frites is also excellent. The Scotch selection is fantastic, but bring money for the high end stuff.

Plenty of brews to choose from and a respectable food selection. Some of the food choices are interesting but so far we have found it to all be good.

good food, atmosphere and beer... worth a visit.

Honestly, I came for the cheese plate! I've been scouring the local food scene for a good cheese plate and theirs did not disappoint. I also ended up ordering the classic scallops in a white wine sauce with fries, and both were very tasty. The bartenders were also very knowledgeable about the beers we inquired about. We sat at the bar and had great service. The beer selection can be overwhelming but all the better for people with varying tastes. I will definitely be returning.

Great beer selection and the best mussels I have ever had. Fresh and delicious. Lots of seating and nice atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful. Great spot to stop in when you want great food, great beer selection and reasonable prices. This place does it well.

they have a ton of great beer on tap and belgian food. we went for lunch then back for pre-dinner beer. we focused on washington and west coast options as we live on the east coast.

Good food, great beer! Service could be a little better, though.

We were so glad to stop in here today. We had the most amazing frites Amsterdam with a fried egg on top - incredible! Huge beer selection and a great atmosphere.

Extensive beer selection and the best cheese plate in Seattle!

I am a beer geek, and Brouwer's met, nay, exceeded my expectations. They have around 50 beers on tap, leaning heavily toward Belgian-style beers, plus plenty of selection in bottles. Really delicious, hard to find elsewhere beers. Beyond that, we had the cheese plate, which was heaven! Nice portions of cheese, flath bread, walnuts and dates . Also had a lamb burger which was quite good as well. Ambience was great, service was friendly, although a bit slow at times. I highly recommend Brouwer's. You won't be disappointed. Plus, Theo's Chocolate is across the street and Mischief Distillery is around the corner.

Always a great selection of beer and whiskey. 21 and up. Order the mussels and get out of your IPA rut by trying one of the many imported trippels, lambic or Wits! Yum!

Came here with a group of 6 and were seated immediately. Staff was great! Our waitress was very patient, very helpful and had excellent knowledge of the beer selections available, even getting me to step out of my comfort zone to try some great new beers. Food was outstanding! The appetizer plate was huge and really set the tone for the rest of the food. Had the Steak Frites and was not disappointed. The Gran Cru reduction was a perfect pair with the steak and the frites were good. Great atmosphere, food and service! We will definitely be back!!

Second time here with a group. Servers are extremely knowledgeable on the extensive beer list. Lamb burger was very tasty and cooked to juicy perfection. Croque Monsieur was also very tasty. Awesome selection of scotch and bourbon for after dinner. This could easily become a regular spot for us.

Comfort home bound food!

Great spot with an overwhelming beer selection. Works closely with bottleworks, and has some rare beer on tap. Did not try their food, but the sandwiches looked moderately priced, even at Dinner.

Likely the absolute worst service I have ever had at any establishment in Seattle. Went there with my wife to enjoy dinner after finding it online. This was a mistake. Our server was a young girl, who could have been new or inexperienced, but neither are my fault nor problem. Aside from taking our initial order for both food and drinks, and bringing us our drinks, we really never saw her again, here lies the problem. As we waited an excessive amount of time for our food to arrive, three other tables next to us had been seated after us and order after us (the place was not busy), but all had and some were even finished their food before while we received none. It took the help and interest in the busboy who was very good to check on our order numerous times, while we still waited. Finally after a huge delay, the food finally arrived only after we suggested that we simply settle our drinks bill and cancel our food order. Only at that time did the server reappear and try to make an excuse that it was a problem and delay with the kitchen, well if that were even true why did no one come out and tell us while we sat there waiting. The food was okay, not spectacular, which was overshadowed by the horrible serve and indifferent attitude. Before we left, we paid the entire bill, provided feedback to the manager, and left to never return nor would ever recommend this place to anyone. Lots of great options of awesome place in the surrounding area, choose wisely.

We are beer people and have tasted beer all over the country. Don't try to get a taste of an unfamiliar beer at Brouwers! We understand that some beer places do not want to offer beer without charge, however they do not even offer a taster glass at any price. So, this is not a place for beer aficionados. In addition, the room was cold and the "frites" listed with many Belgian dishes were terrible. Brown, limp, and cool. Seemed microwaved? You can do better.

We hit up the happy "power" hour. The cheese plate was great. I did NOT share. $5 dollars was so worth it! The frites and aioli also great! They have a decent beer selection. I like that they publish the brewery location in the list. Fun atmosphere, not too loud but boisterous energy.

Had dinner our first night based on a recommendation by a friend. We had Mussels and stew with frites. Both delish. And waffle with pears and ice cream for dessert. They have an amazing selection of beers and whiskeys.

I was recently in Seattle 4-2-12 and Brouwers is an awesome place. I wish I lived close to it! The beer selection is just amazing, and the staff is very knoledgable about beer. I had the lamb burger, first one ever, and it was perfection! I had beer that went all the way back to 1998 (a barley wine actually) it was a great experience. Be sure to check it out. It's about a $13 cab ride from downtown. Worth every penny!

Great place with good food, service can be a little troubling. Great beer selection with lots choices, even better bottle list.

This was my first stop in Seattle, the environment was hip and the food was decent. They seemed to have a variety of food specials throughout the day,I got a roast beef and gruyere sandwich which was pretty tasty. But the beer menu is the star, vast and featuring local micro brews as well as a large selection of internnational ones. The bartender who waited on us was helpfule and attentive. Next time I'm in town I will be back for sure.

Brouwers features a selection of hundreds of beers, lambic's and saison's add that to great pub food like oyster plate or lamb burgers makes this place pretty special

for beer geeks only

The beer selection was pretty good with some belgians, some locals and some exotics but nothing too hard to find (would have been more impressed if it wasn't sooo expensive) and the food was interesting with some standard pub fare and some innovative concoctions (again, really expensive for a bar). But the service ruined whatever the bar had going for it so that's all I'll be focusing on for this review. (Warning: shallowness and callousness below. You want a helpul review, you need to be brutal.) For starters, the main bartender was A) obnoxious (maybe she was trying for pretentious but it didn't come off that way at all), B) mean (she was nice to the single people sitting near us so we think maybe she doesn't like couples) and C) ignorant about her craft (didn't know one thing about the beer she was serving). All of which I can handle had she not been so D) unpresentable - read as 'unattractive.' We could've lived with all that and gave her the benefit of the doubt if she was at least attractive (tip: if you're a hot bartender, you can get away with all that, if not, you need to have a nice personality and know your s**t). Finally, if that wasn't enough buzzkill, when the 2nd bartender showed up, he and the girl got into a heated argument right in front of everyone. Nice work guys, not! We will skip this place next time. We preferred Elysian and even The Pike Pub over this. They kicked this place's behind in every respect.

Amazing selection of both imported and local craft beer. The happy hour food menu, while limited is a very good deal. I had the $3 pomme frites (no Belgian mayo available tho :( ) and it could have easily fed three people. Nice selection of Trappist beers for those seeking.

This is the place in North Seattle for folks who are serious about enjoying beer. More than 60 beers on tap and, they say, more than 300 bottles (I haven't counted them myself), a knowledgeable and helpful waitstaff means that you will probably find a beer here that you will really enjoy. Not a beer drinker? They have a full bar, too. The website calls this restaurant a "cafe," but I have always thought of it as a pub. The food here is definitely a cut above the typical pub fare. The European-style frite are delicious and have been imitated a lot. In addition to sandwiches and salads, there are a number of Belgian specialties that are wonderful with beer. With more than 300 varieties of beer and a love of good food, the Belgians know how to enjoy life. And I think most Belgians would agree that Brouwers is a great place to enjoy.

Wow - I'm not a beer drinker, but my friend is and he said they have an amazing inventory of beer! Nice menu too accompany the beer choices. Some good authentic Belgian fares as well as American fare. The stoofvlees (beef stew) was cooked to perfection YUM. The sign on the door says 60+ taps, 60+ scotches, and 200+ bottles - they're not kidding.

Good beer selection, obviously the Belgian beers were on point. Everyone in our group loved the food

We were scheduled to take the 12:45 tour through Theo’s Chocolate Factory one block away, so wanted a good late morning breakfast/lunch. This place had the perfect food and wonderful service, lamb burger with fries, fried egg over croissant, and beet salad. Very well-spiced and tasty. The motif was “cave” for some reason. Would return for sure.

Wife and I were visiting Seattle for a long weekend. We stopped in here Friday night for dinner and some beers. It was a very busy night, but we were lucky to find a place to sit at the bar. I was impressed by the atmosphere and the extensive craft beer menu they had. We were able to order a couple 4oz pours at a time to try different things, similar to a beer fest. We had just received our appetizer, and was about to order dinner when the bartender informed us that he was closing our tab. When pressed for an explanation, none was given. I find it impossible to think they cut us off because we had a few too many, as this was the first stop of the night. I think we didn’t look “cool enough” for them on a busy Friday night. I had heard stories of the attitude that can be observed in this area.. but figured it was exaggeration, plus my wife and I are pretty friendly and open which typically leads to not having negative encounters like this. If you’re the kind of person that isn’t concerned with looking cool, give this place a pass.

After going to Theo chocolate factory (across street) we stopped for a sandwich. The food and service was very good. If looking for beer this is the place for you to go.

Best beer selection in town, but the food doesn't match the beer quality.

The food was awesome, the service was terrible. We were a party of 6, waited 30 minutes for a glass of wine to be told they were out of it, no problem, we ordered another. When another 20 minutes elapsed we asked where it was and they were extremely annoyed. The waitress made a rude comment about how she didn't forget us. But she did. Then the 3 female bartenders proceeded to laugh at us when we voiced our annoyance. After all that, they added a 15% gratuity to our food check and an 18% gratuity to our bar check. We asked that they be separated so we could tip the food server well, and the bar server 0%. We will never go back, all 6 of us agreed it wasn't worth the rude service. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CHECK BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS RESTAURANT, I HAVE A FEELING THEY ARE ADDING AUTOMATIC GRATUITY TO EVERYONE'S CHECKS. This must be a new unethical way to earn tips.

An amazing selection of craft beers and craft whiskeys maybe what gets most people in the door, but the menu is also quite good. It's a Belgian themed place, and has much better food than any pub I have ever been to. Try the Stoovflees stew over frites for a good hearty meal or traditional mussels and frites fora nice meal.

This place gives a welcoming feeling the moment you walk in. A wall of beers and a huge line of taps. If a beer lover, this is your place. The food is also good and served quickly.

We made it for lunch on a Wednesday and the crowd was manageable. The tap list is incredible. Brouwer's is dimly lit and rustic, like an old German beer hall. There are two stories of great tables and views. Our server was decently quick and knowledgeable about the beers. The food is a bit pricey but worth it. My Cuban sandwich was awesome. If you[re a beer (and food) fan, don't miss Brouwer's.

We went for lunch, during a Convention. We sat upstairs, as there were so many of us. The waitstaff was Very accommodating, the menu is large, & you will leave full!

Dozens of beers to choose from and a knowledgeable staff that knows their beer and food. Was able to try new foods and found them to be very good. European comfort food.

I came here one Saturday night on a hot late summer night with my girlfriend. We sat upstairs among the architecture reminiscent of a continental European beer-hall. It literally took me 15 minutes to pick my beer among their "beer book" of more than 300 bottles of craft beer. I ended up deciding on two cellar aged beers. Although either or us did not order food, the selection was mind-blowing and I fully intend on revisiting this place the next time I come to Seattle. Neither Vancouver or Portland has anything remotely close to the selection offered at this gastropub.

A friend and I went for lunch and were very happy with Brouer's. It's a bit difficult to find - but once you go inside, you'll be very happy. We counted 64 different beer taps. How can you not be happy with that? I had dish with mussels steamed in a milky broth - great flavor and it came with fantastic fries. The servings were huge, and REALLY good! Our server, Andrew - if I remember correctly, was supremely helpful. I had a couple of questions about drinks (other than beer) and Andrew was very accommodating about answering, even though I made it clear that I was just curious. He truly understands customer service. We'll be back!!

The food here was amazing! I was with 2 others and we shared an app and all had different entrees. The app was frites with cheese curds, lamb gravy and bacon on them. OMG, to die for! The steak with the bourbon cream sauce, so good that we kept eating, even when we were full!. Beer selection also very solid. I would recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood!

Great fun and trendy brew pub

We've visited Brouwer's a couple of times and enjoyed both experiences. On this visit we went for the Lamb Burger and Brouwer's Speakeasy. Both were delicious and the pommes frites were terrific - really appreciate the variety of choices of dipping sauce. So many beer and cider choices --- our waitress was very helpful in narrowing down the selections. And the service was excellent. Recommend grabbing the booth closest to the entrance if you can get it. It distances you from the sound system. No objections to the music selections, but the sub-woofers are way over-amped. Thud! Thud! Thud! Otherwise, very enjoyable dining experience.

I went here with friend while visitng Seattle. We did not eat, just had drinks. It was during a beer festival and they were featuring almost exclusively "sour" beers on their seemingly endless taps. This was an interesting kind of beer I've never had before, they were good, but i couldn't drink more than one or two. I would have liked to have gone here on a normal night when they have all different styles of beer. The vibe in Brouwer's is very fun. I'd go back here to hang out were i back in Seattle.

Hands down the best spot for the widest selection of ales (Especially Belgian), along with the Taphouse Grill. Brouwer's dishes up some fine pub grub, including hand-cut fries and a tasty lamb burger. If you can look past the loud cavernous atmosphere and hit-and-miss service, it's a fine spot for fine beer. If you're just looking for beer, you can't beat Brouwer's. Another must go spot is the Uber bar on Aurora (Beer only).

Beer selection is awesome. That they serve food has barely ever crossed my mind. Seems to attract a lot of haughty, materialistic yuppie types who laugh extra loud to demonstrate their importance. Good times!

Some of the reviews I've read say service is terrible, but the staff were friendly and helpful today. It was a snowy Sunday afternoon in Fremont and I was the only customer when I got in, so perhaps it's different when it's packed. When you're outnumbered by staff, you tend to get served quickly - no complaints there. While our server came over several times to check on me, I didn't feel rushed to consume or to purchase more beers. Brouwer's has a very good selection of beers (a pint of the eccentric Boneyard, an espresso-chocolately stout for me) and a page full of whiskies. Oddly they have only one Irish malt, which is odd because they also have a Welsh whisky, (Penderyn) which I've tasted and wouldn't prefer over a less esoteric Irish spirit. Food was very good too: I had a felafel sandwich with 'dragon sauce' - a mysteriously named, spicy mayonnaise - the sandwich itself was very hot, but good and tasty. From the outside Brouwer's looked rather unpreposessing: just a big black shed. But on the inside, rather pleasant. The sea of tables feels a little impersonal in the middle of the room, but the long bar, the booths and the mezzanine level are all nice places to sit.

My little cousin and her fiance were showing us around Seattle and this was one of the favorite local restaurants and we can see why.The menu and beers were amazing. We would love to have this place near by us in Kentucky.GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT PEOPLE!!!!A+A+A+

Came on a weekday afternoon for lunch. The place was nearly empty and they only had one server. It was also surprisingly cold, We all had coats on and were still cold. The place is very wide open and the decor is some sort of medevil-goth thing. They were blaring hard metal which i guess goes with the decor but at 2pm on a Wednesday with a nearly empty house, maybe chill out a bit? Our waitress was nice, but she was slow. For how slow they were we should have got better service. The food was pretty good. I got fish and chips. The cod was greasy, but the fries were awesome. They do have a ton of beer, though the majority of it on tap was barleywine at the time. They also have 100s of bottles and some of it is very hard to find and rare too. A couple of bottles were over $ 200! I wanted to take a couple of bottles only to be told after the fact by the waitress that they do not do to go. Over all just not a very pleasant experience. I will not be back.

It was a cool night and thankful to find the last large table to dine inside. Had their Stoofviees with House IPA and it was good. Crock Monsieur, Bier Cioppino, an Octoberfest entree, Lamb Burger, and Frites, plus dessert and drinks were enjoyed by all.

Great beer selection. Good patio. Interesting menu with some authentic Belgian choices. Tried the deconstructed rabbit pot pie, the mussels, and a veggie sandwich. All were good enough to have again...and again. Fremont is a great neighborhood to walk around a bit and work up your thirst.

Veggie burger is decent. rest of the food is overpriced. But can't beat the beer selection. :)

We've come here several times since our first visit in March and we've been pleased on every visit. Tasty pub eats go beyond the usual bar fare -- octopus risotto was my most recent order. The beer list is extensive enough that the one you get when you sit down lists only a small fraction of what's actually available; ask for the full book if you don't see something you want to try right away (though the offerings on the short sheet, which gets updated as soon as anything runs out, are plentiful enough that you might not need to). We like the space too -- dark woods lit by an enormous skylight in the center of the two-story hall. Service is quicker on the first floor, if you're not planning to linger, but this is a place we like to enjoy at our leisure.

First off, the atmosphere is very cool. Almost like something out of a movie set in that there is a horseshoe balcony above the main floor. Dark color, wood interiors. Just a good mood. Our group started with the appetizer plate, which is good, but could use a lot more cheese. There were just two small pieces on our platter. The Pommes Frites are wonderful and the spicy Bourbon Dragon Sauce pairs very well with them. The signature Manhattan's have a very good flavor, I had to have two! They obviously have an extensive beer, as well as whiskey, list. Two of us had the Caesar salads with beef and said they were very tasty and not overdressed. My SO and I shared the beet salad (good) and the Power House Stoofvleez (do NOT ask me how to pronounce it!). Think of the Canadian dish, poutine, made with pomme frites and covered in beef with sauce and cheese curds. This was a very, yummy dish. It is not low-cal, but the beef is so very tender and the sauce so full of flavor and perfectly matched with the fries, so who cares?? Service could use a little more warmth, but it was efficient. Go early as they don't take reservations and they fill up fast.

This is my favorite bar in Seattle. The best service and by far the best beer selection. The food is fantastic. btw, the wine selection and scotch selection is great, too.

The waitstaff are trained to take no static and they do not suffer fools. Even if you're not a fool, expect to be treated with some amount of distrust when it comes to having your ID inspected. The local authorities must have their feet on the proprietors' back because the tales of mistreatment over IDs abound. While we were at Brouwer's they threw out a 35-year-old guy with an expired ID. So, think of Brouwer's as beer customs. "No up-to-date and authentic passport, no service." You've been warned. Otherwise, there is no better beer hall selection of microbrews and scotches almost anywhere. A little sunlight over the tables and the 64 taps will make you quickly forget the ID check, even more quickly if your papers are in order. The food is fantastic. Especially love the sausages, fries and the beer. The beer is just fantastic, served in the proper glasses and at the proper temperature. The barkeep is clearly playing close mind to the quality control of the taps, the cleanliness, the filtration of the lines, the accuracy of the pours, etc. Love this place.

My friends and I visited this place during beer week 2013 when they were having there Stout-fest. We came during Happy-HR so ours beers were a dollar cheaper, and the normal cost was anywhere from 5-9 bucks per beer depending on what type and specialty of beer. They have a hug amount of beers on tap, and a few ciders as well. We had some great beers, great wait staff, and really good fries. It was packed and we still got great service, even the owners shared there table with us, it was a great time!! Will definitely visit here again.

Brower's has 64 craft beers on draft, a selection of over 400 bottles from both the U.S. and abroad, an exceptional selection of Scotch and American Whiskys and a full service bar, and Belgian-inspired cuisine. And that's just a start. Indoor and outdoor seating, although the outdoor is small, it's still a very lovely place. Inside boasts of two stories with longtable and booth seating. I loved the gargoyles! Our server was super friendly, and very knowledgeable when we were asking about the different beers. It was a sunny bright day and we opted for the courtyard. She recommended a certain cherry beer and it was amazing. It I hadn't been full from eating somewhere else, I definitely would have tried the food here. Watching it as it came out, I made a mental note to come back when I get back to Seattle. While parking can be challenging in the Fremont area, once you are parked you can explore a lot of different places close to Brouwer's. Or make your way there. It's worth the trip.

We had a couple beers and were seduced to some whisky which was truly outstanding (from a very long selection!). The sausages were good, too!

Fun place. Great beer. Good food. Unique decor. At power hour, there's great deals. Before or after Brouwer's, walk across the street for samples of Theo's chocolates. A little further and you can view boats going thru the locks. All that, and you have a perfect day!

A group of us decided to try out this place after watching the NHRA drag races at the Pacific Raceway in Kent. We had driven down for the day from Burnaby/Surrey, BC and was looking for a place to eat and drink after a long day at the races. They had a huge beer list and the food was amazing! All five of us were pleasantly surprised at how awesome the food was. The big bucket of muscles that they give you was so delicious! Awesome place to go for refreshing beers and delicious eats.

Decided to visit this spot due to its expansive beer choices on tap and in bottle. We were definitely impressed! A wonderful addition to the brews was the delicious food! The ham and gruyere sandwich was ridiculously good. The fries were perfect. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

Met here with some colleagues and was so pleased I took my husband back for Easter. The beer selection is large and impressive and the food is very nice. I enjoyed my grass fed steak very much. The server for my second visit seemed lifeless and without personality, but when we asked for some advice with our beer selection he perked right up. Then he reverted to his previous ways. I don't know what this means but on my two visits nobody was rude so I will be returning.

Service the night we went there was awful, and the food wasn't much better. Cocktails OK, terrible wines, so just go there is you need a beer.

I have to admit, this restaurant is one of my favorites. The beer selection alone is fantastic and the wait staff know their stuff when it comes to seasonal wines and liquors. The food is great...try the Stooflees(i hope I spelled that right) and the meat/cheese appetizers. Pom fritz and the Dragon sauce.....the best. Pssst.....the Lamb burger is the shizzle!

Went there beceause one of my friends imports some beer from Belgium inthere I never have seen so many beertaps in one pub and they have a list from all over the world beers Besides there is a list off Whisky i never have seen thatone before De food was Belgian adapted to the Usa and very nice price/quqlity

I took a friend to the Belgianfest for his birthday and kept with the Belgian theme of dining at Brouwer's. It's been since 1994 that I was in Belgium but found the food to be delicious and tres legit. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages there, but there's a TON to choose from. Theo Chocolate, which we didn't go to, is right across the street. Parking is across the street. I would dine there again and do Theos too.

As someone who used to live in the Netherlands, this place hit me right in the feels. With Belgian cuisine and brews, I was in heaven here. I highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Belgian fare!

Of more than 50 kinds of beers, including options from California, Oregon, Connecticut, California, Maryland, Colorado, Canada, Belgium, France, Germany... Ciders, whiskies, and all sorts of tapas such as pommes frites (Belgian style frites), lamb burgers, mussels... Dont miss this place!

Excellent beer selection, and they're liberal with adding bacon to appetizers.

The words "Belgian cuisine" inspire few flights of culinary fancy, but Brouwer's serves up some excellent traditional Belgian dishes to pair with its 80 tap beers and over 300 bottled varieties. Yes, the pommes frites are great by themselves, but try them with the mussels or, even better, with the beef stew when they offer it (it should be on the regular menu!). As to the service, I found the table servers quite friendly and knowledgeable about the brews, quite unlike the bartenders who Mannequin Pis-ed off some of the other reviewers. Overall, a terrific place to spend a cold, rainy Seattle evening -- not that they have many of those up there :-)

The upstairs was closed off, and the bottom floor was almost completely full. Only 1 waitress!! It was a bit of a late lunch time, but not that late... Not such a great idea, but the waitress truly was not giving us adequate or even mediocre service. The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant is pretty awesome. Food really was delicious! I got the croque monsieur, with an organic egg, served over frites with bourbon dragon sauce and my husband got the Stoofvlees (traditional Belgian stew) served over frites, with cheese curds. Holy...yum. Both were very tasty. My husband's meal could have had more cheese curds, but not a big deal. Would recommend, just would suggest going during peek hours so they are (hopefully) staffed better...

Very RUDE to us and our 22 year old Belgian guest. He was excited to try out a Belgian- style bar. We sat down and when we started to order drinks the waiter looked at his Belgian ID and Belgian driver's license and very rudely told us this was not an acceptable ID. He said the Washington liquor rules would not allow him to drink or even stay in the establishment unless he had his passport . The 5 in our group could not believe it. My wife and I are in our mid 50's . It is not like we are likely to try to fool the establishment with a fake Belgian ID We went to a bar one block away. we showed the bartender the Belgian ID and he said 'no problem'. We enjoyed a nice round of beers. Treating customers who are being nice to you in a RUDE way is inexcusable. Choose wisely when you are looking for a nice bar in Fremont

If you love beer, this place is awesome! With 64 beers on tap that rotate out you can find something to your liking, they had beers even up to 17% alcohol percentage. The doorman was very friendly, much friendlier than any of the bartenders who only talked to us to mock other customers. It seemed to put a bit of a damper on the atmosphere, but we still had a great time and created our own fun.

Brouwer's is one of our favorite north Seattle restaurants. Located in the City’s Fremont district, it has a huge selection of spirits and beers to complement excellent Belgian style cuisine. Servings are ample and very reasonably priced. We’ve tried the fish and chips a couple of time and found them to be some of the best around the City. I can also recommend the beef stew, although it doesn’t always appear on the menu. The atmosphere and décor are very much Belgian or English pub style and certainly warm and friendly. The service has always been quite good, but I’ll admit that we have always been there on a week night. The staff is very knowledgeable about the large selection of beers, and has always proven very helpful in making the selection that suits our taste. In sum, Brouwer's offers great food at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this restaurant. One should note though, that since the entire restaurant is considered a bar, you must be 21 years or older to enter the premises.

We went in here for a very late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and discovered that a Happy Hour (3 to 6 p.m.) had already started. So I ordered the shepherd's pie off that menu and my husband chose a lamb burger with fries from the standard offerings. The massive portion of pie arrived with a leathery melted cheese covering, which I scraped off. The interior mixture proved to be good. The lamb was a bit too spicy for our tastes and many fries in the huge pile that arrived were burnt. This cafe's focus seems to be on drinks with a long listing of beers, ciders and hard liquor. A bar takes up almost one full wall in the large room, which has myriad tables and chairs and a few booths. The upstairs dining space is open to the main room below, and a patio offers additional seating. During our stay, most of the customers sat on the patio, but we chose a booth. Our pleasant waiter was prompt and attentive. This ultra-casual eatery appears to appeal to a young clientele and would likely be a good choice for groups out for a night on the town as long as no one is interested in fine dining. Street parking is available in the immediate neighborhood.

This places gets busy real quick and for good reason: the beers selection is excellent and the staff is phenomenal. The menu in my opinion is just ok (a little too fancy for my tastes) but will certainly meet your needs. My only complaint would be that their snacking menu ends at 6pm and it really should continue throughout the night. Place itself is spacious and accommodating.

i love the beer here...very pricey...but the achel is delicious!

Best Beer selection in Seattle hands down

If you like beer, you must visit Brouwers. They have 64 high-quality craft beers on tap at all times, and over 4000 bottles. Their selection is unrivaled in Seattle. The people here have a passion for beer, and it shows in their highly-curated selection, and the servers deep knowledge of the products they are serving. If the beer wasn't enough of a reason go to here, the food is amazing too. Belgian-inspired dishes. All delicious. If you order one thing, order the frites. They are the best french fries you will ever have. No exaggeration. The lamb burger, rockfish & frites, and pretzel are all excellent as well.

A place for beer lover, they have a special affinity for Belgian style brews and food. I was tempted by the style known as "sour " beer, and the waitress was helpful in pointing out which selection would most correspond to my tastes. I had the Petrus, and while I would not order it again, I enjoyed the way it made my lips pucker with each sip. I certainly enjoyed exploring a type of beer not found elsewhere. For food I had the lamb burger with frites and it was delicious. Service was attentive, and you have a choice of seating areas, on the main floor, by the bar, a balcony above, and when the weather cooperates there is an outdoor seating area.

Really great place, have a million different beers on tap

Food is interesting - and Belgium. This place always seems to be packed. Drinks are good.

Service is slow and aloof, you can find many better beer pours in Seattle This is the place "the locals don't go"

We stopped in during happy hour and were glad we did. Lots of beer and ciders on tap. I highly recommend the appetizer plate. It was plenty for the four of us. The outdoor seating is walled off from the street and sidewalks, which I like. The inside is really quite nice and comfortable. The service was great.

Like the beer selection. Awesome fries!

Got a taxi over here specifically as heard good things about the place. Was tricky to find the way in but when i did i was met with 2 doormen who did an ID check. Apparently my UK driving licence and 40 year old face were not enough to get me in. I understand the need to ID but this was being a pointless jobsworth. I was at the end of a 24 day, 6 city US trip and this was the first time I'd been made aware that a UK driving licence wasn't sufficient. There are better places to go in the area, try fremont brewing Co, add-a-ball or any of the awesome breweries in ballard.

This is a favorite for good beer selection and pub type food in the Fremont area. Lots of tasty food choices in the $10-$12 dollar range. I had Rockfish and Frites and the fish was fried light and perfectly cooked. Our server was Katy and she was friendly and efficient. Lots of local beer choices, too.

This place is a little dark, literally and figuratively. I was one of a few ladies in the house but that did not matter. The food was great and the selection of beer was fantastic. Over 100 on tap and they were not your average run of the mill beers.

A friend introduced me to this place. I like the huge beer selection and the food was good, but I would have appreciated more appetizer choices. There were some, but I had a hard time finding something small since I'd had a large lunch and wasn't very hungry.

This place is great for craft beer enthusiasts and Belgian beer lovers. Their draft selection is great and their bottle selection even better! Our server Anna was amazing, probably the best service I have had at a restaurant. The food was good, the poutine was my favourite!

This is a must visit for beer lovers. Fantastic selection of draft beers plus a mind boggling list of bottles. The food is Belgian so expect heavy entrees but they have lighter apps too. Friendly service. Nice outside patio when the weather cooperates. Good happy hour and 20% off bottles on Mondays. I would definitely return.

Whether your a fan of craft beer, Belgium beers & food, or just like tasty grub, Brouwer's will not disappoint! Super yummy appies and oodles of craft beers on tap to choose from!

Very solid beer hall. Good grub and huge selection.

more than 100 craft brews on site and the food was amazing . The ambiance and the people were very cool. The Fremont area is a great spot to hang out

The awesome combination of Belgian! pub food (plus the best cheese plate in Seattle), a HUGE draft and bottled beer selection and funky castle-like decor make this truly great pub!

The food and drink: Some of the best pub grub ever. The mussels with shallots made me a mussel believer. Croque Monsieur was simply prepared and just right. Fries were crispy and hot, and both the dragon sauce and aioli were yummy. Our server was friendly and attentive, the beers were as good as others have said, and the wine-by-the-glas selection better than most. The set-up: Brouwer's gets marked down here. If it's a cafe, as the name states, then staff ought to be helping with seating. As it stands, there's a seat yourself policy, and the place is tremendously appealing to large groups. The end result is that you may find yourself enjoying your dinner in the shadow of a large group of people hovering nearby and hoping to snag your spot after you've finished. It's kind of a mess. Brouwer's almost feels like it would work better as a full-on beer hall setup -- endless long tables, with people filling in gaps when they can find them. That, or get a seating host.

I had the Mussels Frites, both mussels and the frites were well executed, aioli for the frites were a little too good! Service great, Casual ambience, enjoyable for a quick unfussy dinner

Great list of beers both on tap and bottles. Mostly either from Belgium or Belgian style. One day during Seattle beer week they had almost all the taps as stouts, another day they were sours.

Love the look and feel inside, almost like an Austrian ski lodge. Service can be a little slow when it's busy, but the staff does their best and they are very knowledgable about beer. Awesome beer selection, the best in Seattle. Pro tip - ask for the full beer menu, it's not handed out by default. Great European gastro pub food. Pro tip - get the semi-private room upstairs for small groups. Highly recommend.

A wide variation of international beers mostly on tap. The food was very as well. The service was great too. They also have a great selection in single malts and bourbon.

The inside cavernous environs is cozy. The food menu is decent but the most difficult question you will answer is, "what would you like to drink?" The beer menu itself is several pages of small print. I believe there is a full bar but this is a beer place, people!

Was in Seattle for just a few days, but was recommended to visit here for sure. Location is in a mostly quiet neighborhood of Seattle, north of downtown, so it's a short trek up I-5. Atmosphere is great. Warm and welcoming, nice decor, big open main area and well appointed bar with loads of glass coolers to showcase all the bottled beer. Beer selection is outstanding, both with bottles and draft. The staff was extremely knowledgable and friendly. The food was also excellent. Can't recommend this enough to beer aficionados and fans alike.

Perfect for visitors and locals. Your favorite pub foods at reasonable prices with huge beer and scotch selections. Homemade fries soaked in brine heated and prepared the night before. Delish.

It’s located in Seattle’s Fremont District. I has a “semi-sophisticated” feel to the place as compared to other Fremont District drinking and eating establishments. We had a good time there.

Also, the pommes frites are super cool. I would love a place like this in the neighbourhood I live in. It's a great place.

Best beer list in town!

This is one of those places that you would just walk on by if you had not read about it or been told about it. From the outside it almost looks like a warehouse with no windows but inside it is a huge crescent shaped bar with the feel of a dive bar in Europe. Their rockfish and fries were totally on point and their beer selection is amazing. I came in for lunch on a Monday so there were only a handful of us but with the beer and spirits selection, I would imagine that Friday and Saturday nights are crazy. Definitely Belgian inspired.

I came here for happy hour and was impressed with the aesthetics of the place. Such a cool, dark vibe it fit the Belgian theme perfectly. The bartender was incredibly knowledgable and suggested to very different beers that I loved. I also had a cheap and tasty pretzel - nothing fantastic, but it was good.

Arrived for a late lunch and it took over ten minutes to get any acknowledgment of our presence. We got water and menus and were left again. We could see the staff goofing off in the kitchen area. The waitress tried to discourage us by telling us our food would take at least ten minutes to cook. The good was dismal when it did come.

Brouwer's was a great find in the Fremont area of Seattle. Great rainy day food, we had the Lamb burger and the beef stew over fries and the experience was so satisfying. Multiple taps and beers in the bottle, wine and cocktails. I will visit here again when in the area.

The place was packed on a Saturday evening, but service was friendly. Because it was so busy, service was a little slow. But the food was good! Delicious frites! Pretty good selection of beers on draft, but would have liked to see more variety. The bottle selection, however, is overwhelming and quite appropriate. I would definitely come here, but come early on the weekends because it is "Seat Yourself" style.

Was staying in Fremont with a friend. We each wanted something different for dinner - when I looked at the menu and saw the beer selection I was in heaven. My friend had a steak with fries and I had beer. Her food looked delicious and she enjoyed every month full. Clean plate clubs member! I had many beer questions, all which were answered by our waiter. He was able to help me select a really excellent brew. This place is a bit dark but so cute on the inside. Great neighborhood bar - one I'd travel for if not in the neighborhood. Go and enjoy! I'll be back for sure.

Send a scout early if you're needing a table for more than 4... There is no host/hostess. It's first come basis seating, although everyone seems pretty good about managing themselves! Knowledgeable staff can help provide inquiries about types of beers available. Food is quite impressive. If you aren't hungry, at least order one thing: The Pomme Frites! We had the Pasta which is only avail on Fri & Sat, [Cucina Fresca’s fresh goat cheese ravioli, sage and butternut squash puree, caramelized onion, green kale, pumpkin seeds]. The Stoofvlees (a traditional Belgian stew made with American Kobe Beef and served over a bed of pommes frites with thyme crème fraiche), The croque Monsieur, which is really just French for "fancy grilled cheese w/ ham [Gruyère coated organic Columbia bread with Black Forest ham], and the Brouwer’s Speakeasy. A smoked turkey, apple wood smoked bacon, baby greens, tomato, red onion, dill havarti, honey dijonaise, on an organic croissant. Parking again is a bit difficult as the area is full of FUN things to do... Enjoy! Website: http://brouwerscafe.blogspot.com/

Very tasty roast beef sandwich on happy hour, unique and fun decor and a great menu variety. While some people go nuts over the fries- I would prefer shoestring fries and would not order them again but most people in the group loved them The service for the most part is great (one employee was pretty rude and unwelcoming though) Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and venue location. All in all a great local business I would return to.

When travelling, we try to get restaurant suggestions from local people. This visit to Seattle was no exception. Our Lyft driver suggested Brouwers and it turned out to be a great choice. It is not in the heart of Seattle and consequently most of the patrons seemed to be local folks. Service was great as was the food choices. There is no shortage of beer on tap. You will not go wrong by ordering their mussels and frites dish. A very generous portion of delicious muussels at a very reasonable price. A very good choice.
Bad times
High hopes, but no. Super crowded, rude hipsters that refused to share their table. Self importantly waved a “reserved” sign at me despite all the open space at his 8 person table.
