OK

As we entered they told us to take a seat anywhere, hardly anyone in the place, we sat at a table outside. Sat for 15 minutes and I finally went up and asked if we were going to be served, so they sent a young lady over. She took our drink order, and hen came back to take our food order. We ordered two appetizer's that came out within 10 minutes, still did not have our drink order. Found her visiting with a table of young men, she finally brought our drink order, Never checked on us again. Finally came over and cleared table but never brought our check. Again visiting with the table of young men. I had to ask twice to get our check. They also advertised all over about happy hour, but we were told no happy hour on game days...we were not impressed at all with this place!

Great sports bar with an INDOOR BASKETBALL NET!

By Chris Goodall |

An awesome bar. Great choice of drinks, friendly staff and a load of great drinks offers. One of the best features though is the indoor basketball net which allows customers to practice their three throws and layups. So much fun!

Pre-game spot

By Lizrol |

Loved this place next to Petco Park - sat on the patio and enjoyed the weather - ordered a pretzel and it was giant - enough for 3 of us to share - beer selection was amazing šŸ˜ great spot to stop before a Padres game

5 stars

Being from the UK not used to the portion size, it was very tasty and served with a smile. You won’t be disappointed!

Tater Tots?

By Marilyn S |

We had a snack here while waiting for our room to be ready. My friend had quesadillas and I had a basket of tater tots. Sounds crazy but they were really good! A few cold beers and we had a nice time.

Lots of fun, nice little sports bar

By leigh b |

Spent a few hours there watching a game and drinking~! I must recommend the wings with the Archie sauce, absolutely outstanding. The service was good, the atmosphere was fun. A nice place to stop if you are in the area.

Great Bar Food

By patraveller2007 |

Bub's is great for wing, burgers, tots, salads and so much more. Large screen tvs throughout with sports of all kinds. great selection of drafts. Happy hour 3-5 and wing wednesday with buy 5 get 5 free. Service is top notch. Seating indoors and out.

Good food on a quiet night.

By Professor_CR |

We had great food at Bubs on what seemed to be a quiet night. We walked by on the prior evening and it was quite busy with lots of cheering for the football games on the TV. I'm sure it's crazy busy when the Padres baseball team is in town (located right next door!) House Margaritas were good, though nothing special. We had great service.

Good beer selection

By Sue M |

They had a good beer selection and the waitress was very knowledgeable. The food was good. I ordered the grilled cheese but did not have tomato on it. It was still good- lots of cheese.

Best Sports bar!

By cassiegrl |

This place has a super fun vibe! The wings are to die for!! Food menu looks really good too. Service was amazing along with the bartenders.

Tater Tots

By Joski69 |

Bartenders didn't seemed thrilled to serve. Drinks were just okay. We thought the variation of tater tots was a cool concept but not sure they have much more going for them. On a Thursday night, there were 90% males in the bar which was noticeable immediately. A business stop perhaps? Just a bit off all the way around. It seemed tourist trappy like national chain.

Home run for location, food, service!!

By Janice F |

We stopped for late lunch before going to Red Sox/Padres game 9/6. What great luck!! Nice sports bar atmosphere. The burgers were perfect, the tater tots were the best I've ever had!! Staff was friendly/helpful and provided great customer service! We would definitely eat here again when next in San Diego!!

Great grilled wings and friendly staff

By BaltLocal22 |

I'm on the road going to MLB stadiums across the country. This is as good of a stadium bar that there is.

Fun place

By RandySSchafer |

Stopped here on my way to Petco Park for Opening Day. It was a fun atmosphere and they had an excellent selection of beer. They had many local beers on tap. Great bartenders in a very busy environment.

Go for the beer and snacks

By Rengels |

Right at the ball park in downtown San Diego, access and parking was easy that Sunday afternoon. Huge selection of beers and good snacks. Worth the cold one and atmosphere.

Unimpressive

By Beth H |

You would have thought since there was a game that night that service would have been good. My husband and I stopped by there on our way to Ballpark, first time in San Diego. We had two tables of young men sitting at tables next to us. We had to get up and get a server every time we wanted something, I'm sure those two tables will give a rave review. Water never filled, we ordered tator tots because had heard all about them, they were cold, but no server in site. Had to find her to get out bill and it was wrong, didn't have our drinks on it. If I was hateful I would have stiffed her, but that's not how we operate. Took her 20 min to take care of that. We don't recommend at all unless you are a 20 something guy!

nice sports bar with decent bar food and lots of big screen TVs

By LoveTheSunshine82 |

My cousin recommended this place since he wanted to watch a game while eating. This is a fairly big sports bar with lots of TVs for watching games. Seems to also be a Navy haunt. :) The food was surprisingly good and they had a huge selection of beers available on tap. My salad was huge, fresh, and very tasty - even the bbq chicken was tender and well cooked. My husband ordered some wings with unique sauces and those were really good as well. We ended up way overordering and had leftovers to go. Nice option if you want decent food and beer while watching a game. We were able to find street parking nearby without too much trouble but I suspect that might change depending on the time of day. Only minor complaint is that service was extremely slow but I think that's the nature of a sports bar.

Great dinner before a Padre's game

By capelove25 |

We went to Bub's before the Padre's game to get some good old bar food. We enjoyed the nice weather on the patio and had a few beverages before the game. The wings were good as well as well as the caprese grilled cheese sammitch.

Two bad experiences, maybe just me…

By Daniel S |

I’m confused about the ā€œseat yourselfā€ policy if servers can ask customers to vacate their seats for friends who arrive later to watch the game. It feels unfair to treat locals this way. After my experiences, I don’t think I’ll return. On a previous visit for a Padres game, I was seated but received a burger that was undercooked and fries that were ice cold. It might just be my luck, but two disappointing visits have left me frustrated.

DONT GO HERE

By Jillian C |

This is the worst and most UNPROFESSIONAL bar I have EVER had to witness. The bouncer Joe, confiscated mine and my friend's REAL DRIVER LICENSES. Then we were forced to wait in the rain while we waited for the police. Ryan, the manager was rude and condescending and LIED to us saying that the SDPD took our licenses. They did not Bub's bar did. DON'T GO HERE THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!

Great Spot for Pre and Post Game

By djcollie03 |

We went to Bub's before a Padres game. Great airy feeling when the doors are all open and the breeze comes through. It gets crowded early so if you want a seat, be sure to get there early. When it's really busy, the seats at the front bar sometimes get taken away to make more room for the aisles. Good beer selection and even better people watching. Tons of tvs showing sports form all over. We didn't eat but, the food looked really good.

Great bar right next to Petco Park

By Iguessifeellike |

Great selection of local beers, good service and good looking food. Located beside Petco Park, great for pre and post game beers

Good food and great service

By Diane Z |

First day in San Diego by the Gaslight District. Stopped at Bub's by the Petco ball park. Wanted to try something to eat that wasn't a chain restaurant. Lots of TV's to watch whatever game you wanted. Would stop again.

Decent Choice and Fun Bar Scene

By TheRoamingGnomette |

This was our first visit to the Gaslamp District. We ate at tables outside, then moved inside for the bar trivia. The food was average- to -good, with a pretty standard/limited selection. The basketball cage and Golf video game kept our school-age boy occupied while the adults tried the trivia. It was a fun night, but not so remarkable that I would make it a must-return.

Fun sports bar

By Julie H |

Recently had the chance to visit Bub’s on our recent trip down to the Gaslamp area. We love this area and drive down a lot for weekends. After trying out a couple other sports bars in the area and being unimpressed, we left and decided to go back to Bub’s. We had found it last summer while in town for a baseball game so thought we’d try it out during football season. They have a perfect system for college football games and they also had on all of the NFL games on different TVs. They play sound for the prime time games as well and many sports bars don’t do this and only play music. I also like how they put up a card on the TVs with your teams logo so you know where to sit to watch your favorite team. Fun crowd, excellent bartenders and great food! Definitely try out the Bloody Mary bar on the weekends. Burgers are excellent.

Dishonest bartender

By Zuzax1 |

I also wanted to love this place and I did for a while. It's in a great location in the Gaslamp District TVs everywhere decent food reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately had a bartender who tried to rip me off. I caught him in the act is going to pocket the difference between what he charged me and the special. I won't get into the details but there's no doubt he tried to rip me off. A great place but just be careful.

A fun place with a good menu

By Licia W |

Situated in the Gaslamp District. We were looking for somewhere that wouldn’t break the bank. The menu looked good so in we went. It didn’t disappoint. I had wings which were great – the choice of sauces was amazing. It’s a sports bar but didn’t have that slightly seedy feel that a lot of places do. It was light and airy with a good atmosphere. We sat inside, although there is outside seating as well. There are lots of TVs around the place (not all on the same channel). Our server was very friendly. I can’t remember how long we waited for our food as I was busy watching my teens playing in the mini basketball court they have inside. Even though it was early evening when we visited and it was quite busy. I’d like to visit again to try some of the other menu offerings.

Lively Eatery/Bar Next to Petco Park

By Sssshhhhhhh |

Popped into Bub's for a pre-game meal before heading into Petco Park. Busy, lively crowd even several hours before game time. Despite the near full house, service was very good. Food also was very good, and plentiful. More to offer than just wings.

Greasy - but delicious

By MaudraS |

If you're on a diet, don't bother. If you're ok to line your arteries with grease, step on up. It's delicious grease! The pretzel appetizer doesn't sound like it'd be worth the order - but let me tell you it was one of the best things I'd eaten in a long while. Hot, with big grains of salt, and two dipping sauces really put this one over the top. I had fish and chips to go along with it, and a margarita which all added up to one meal o' heart attack, but I left satisfied.

Game day at Bub's

By dctravelingman |

Went to Bob's at the ballpark for NFL Sunday. The atmosphere was great. The joint was packed, and everyone was friendly. Had the wings and a burger. Both were fantastic and reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Bub's.

Great beer selection

By Toes3316 |

Sunday afternoon game day and hockey playoffs, perfect place to be. Good music, good vibes. Great service.

Drinks with coworkers & bar food

By lkabernathy |

After a long travel & work day, a group of coworkers went out for drinks & food. It was a sports bar, but the guy checking ID at the door was nice with a sense of humor. They had a good selection of drinks - beers, mules, mixed drinks. The loaded tater totes we were good, & the chicken wings were average. All in all it was fine... is go back but would not seek it out.

Terrible service and poor management

By Daniel D |

Management drinks while there which projects bad service. I’ve had multiple bad experiences here because I’m a Petco employee. They need treat the local and the travelers as the same.

Very good breakfast

By steve h |

Ate here on a recent Saturday mid day so not anywhere as crowded as the game night before. I had the "redneck benedict" which consisted of two waffles, fried chicken strips, bacon, covered with sausage gravy. Fantastic. My wife had the crab benedict and said it was very good. The service left a little to e desired, not bad, just inattentive. Plus they were having issues with their taps. One beer served looked more like unfiltered Apple cider. Another ordered was simply not available. For some reason it took 20 minutes to get a beer. They did have an extensive bloody Mary bar for brunch. All in all a nice place with good food.

Great Time!

By Kyle |

Stopped here in the morning before the Padres Game. The food is typical bar food, but you get huge portions and very fair prices, lots of good drinks, the staff is super friendly. It was a fun time even the other customers were very friendly and fun. I will go back the next time we are in town.

Very good, but I didn't get the tot buzz

By MichiganFloyd |

Maybe I should have ordered the special tater tot dishes, but the tots that came with my cheese burger were pretty standard. The burger was very good as was the service. Ate lunch at one of the outdoor tables, so i can speak to the indoor / evening vibe.

Madhouse

By Lizrol |

This place is lots of fun if you can find a place to sit - otherwise it's just another overpriced sports bar- the atmosphere is fun with all the different beers to choose from - get there early otherwise it seems to always be standing room only

Great sports bar!

By Mauigirl44 |

We stopped by here to catch the Predators game and enjoy some craft beer and food. Nice layout with plenty of TVs to view sports. Craft beers we tried were all tasty and we had a HUGE pretzel to share, as well as a burger and wings and everything was delicious. Service was a little spotty and it took awhile to get our first round, even though the place was fairly empty when we arrived. Had to ask 3 times before we got a glass of water. But maybe server was new or they were understaffed not sure. Other than that I would definitely recommend the place!

Great Sports Bar next to PETCO

By WestSidePugetSound |

This place has outstanding service and food. They have great Bloody Mary's or in my case Maria. Excellent choice of local micro brews as well. Can't get into the park, park it here to watch the game and enjoy great atmosphere.

Great for a Pre-ball game drink

By JohnCoScotland |

We visited this place before a Padres game at Petco Park, which is just next door. The pre-game atmosphere was great with fans of both teams mixing and having fun. There is a good selection of beers (draft & bottles) and a good food menu. Prices are reasonable which is good as prices at Petco Park are very expensive - so top up here before you go!!! The staff were great and added to the pre-game atmosphere.

Happy Hour and Tots!

By Euroroxy |

Raised (dog friendly) outdoor patio makes Bub's the perfect place to watch the world go by...especially on an event night. Needless to say Happy Hour was very entertaining on the night we stopped by. Pretty sure this place is busy on game nights given its proximity to Petco Field. Our waitress was attentive and our drinks and snacks (Tater Skin Tots) arrived promptly.

Our Go-to Place Before a Padres Game

By LutheranLadySanDiego |

Last evening surpassed our usual enjoyment of this kick-back place. Every TV was tuned into the Women's Soccer Playoff game and the place was alive and vocal in a wonderful mix of patriotism (USA cheers) and agonizing over missed opportunities. My Mike's Cobb Salad was excellent, full of yummy extras over a super fresh mix of delicious greens. Attentive service checked on our needs regularly. Definitely not for you if you're looking for that intimate dining experience. No pretentions. We've eaten here several times and have enjoyed everything we've ordered. Only drawback is their margaritas. Everything else is tops. The atmosphere isn't rowdy or crude, but it is a sports bar. Didn't see children, but you wouldn't feel uncomfortable bringing your kids. Not sure if you could, though, because of the bar and a possible 21 age limit. I think they were checking IDs before you entered.

Must try the steakums!

By LaMario C |

One of my two most frequented restaurants in San Diego. Went there so much I didn't have to order anymore, ha ha. My favorite was the Montreal Steakums. The atmosphere was great and I introduced so many others to Bub's and they loved it just as much.

Great atmosphere, food was good and mid range for price.

By A N |

Great atmosphere, right outside the Petco Park Baseball Stadium. The Gaslamp District is a very nice place to hang out and have a great lunch or dinner. We ate well here and watched the women's world cup and the service was very helpful as well.

Great brunch!

By braylady86 |

We stopped in for brunch on a Sunday morning, which we didnt realize was before a baseball game. Bub's is right by the ballpark, and a popular stop for people on the way to the game. Parking was on the street, which was nonexistent, but there was a parking garage with $15 parking. We partook in the bloody Mary bar, which was great. You are able to pick from a variety of salt rims (I chose Cheetos), mixers, and add-ins (I went with pickled carrots, olives, a pickle, and bacon). We at the soft pretzel (huge), the redneck Benedict (delicious), the bacon flight (amazing), loaded tater tots (incredible), and the corn dog nuggets (exactly what you hope for from corn dogs). The wait for food was surprisingly short considering how busy it was. Things to note. On game day, they ID every adult who enters, and won't allow anyone without ID in. Kids are allowed. We saw a woman get turned away for not having her ID. Typically, on Sunday, only the brunch menu is served until 2pm, but on game day the full menu was available. The food was great, and reasonably priced. It was an excellent stop for brunch!

Pre-Game

By HockeyMom365 |

It was surprising to us they didn't open before 11am on game day. You can find your beer here! I was pleasantly surprised at the tap choices here. The staff was friendly and attentive. Will certainly go here when in town for a game.

The only place open at 1145 PM, thank god.

By PmacP284 |

Found this place after discovering that most if not all of the Gas Lamp restaurants closed around 11PM. The food was tasty and the environment was fun. Try any of the Tator Tot dishes, they hit the spot.

Great Time

By Ed50_13 |

Frequented Bub's Sports Bar to watch the Super Bowl. What a great time. Lots of people, lots of food, and lots of good cold beer. We were lucky to get a spot before the pub filled up completely. Had lots of wings that were great with a wide selection of type and dipping sauce. Just about any kind of beer that you could want, locally brewed or nationally distributed. The service was friendly and always on top of what you needed. Couldn't have found a better location being away from home on the big game day. It was great. Go Broncos!!!

Best wings in town

By Divotdiva88 |

Bub's is a great place and they have grilled chicken wings that you must try and they have a very large selection of craft beers. They are located right next to the Petco ball park in an excellent location

Good place to hit before Petco

By Princerman |

This was a good place to get an app and a beer before the Padres game. Tater tots are a big part of this menu. The basket of tots I bought was HUGE. They also had vintage 80's music videos playing which was cool. I would be happy to come back here and eat more.

Great Food, Good Service

By Dallas D |

Came in for the first time after a game. We found a place immediately and were greeted very quickly. We ordered a couple beers, and our server was very attentive. We split an order of Archie Habanero Wings and Potato Skin tots. Both of them were hot and tasted great. As the crowd grew our server got busy and we never received our reorder of drinks, and waited a long time for our check. Didn't really matter though since we understood it wasn't her fault. Overall it was a great experience.

Late night food and fun

By Choachie |

Such a fun sports bar in the Gaslamp district. Food was good and there kitchen is open late night. The wings were awesome, so many sauces to choose from, loved the Caribbean Jerk. The Wrap was nice and big. Great selection of beers on Tap. Good job guys! Lots of good looking people in this establishment, a must go after a Padres game or when partying around Gaslamp!

Great Sports Bar in GasLamp district

By Simon555 |

We did some research on Sports Bars before we went and this place didn't disappoint. We could see this place from our hotel which couldn't have been better located for us. Great Bar staff, especially the young guy (forget his name sorry, but he's a native 3rd Gen Saneagan) . I drink the local ale Dales Ale which was a great beer. The food is pretty great to, we recommend Archie Wings which were awesome. We spent all day on game day Sunday in here and for 4 of us didn't break the bank. All the screens showed all the NFL games and you can request a speaker box to listen to your game of choice. So for good beer and nice food head to Bub's

Quick stop for burgers and beer

By jd50005 |

We had just arrived into town from a cross country flight and wanted to eat at some place close to the Hilton Bay hotel. We started walking and found Bub's. They were very busy but service was still quick and food was good. Wasn't that hungry so the Chicken sliders hit the spot.

Excellent wings

By JR B |

Went for dinner with co-workers. The table had some wings, and the spicy teriyaki wings were excellent! They were spicy but not too hot and very flavorful. The sweet potato tots were also delicious, as was the Black & Blue burger. Other people at the table had Black & Blue Steak-ums, which looked pretty good too. Great selection of beer on tap. Overall, a great place with solid bar food.

Best Sports Bar Atmosphere in San Diego.

By Jim W |

We go here for NFL games and enjoy the rivalries and team spirit for so many fans. Large number of beer options and fun food options from salads to big sandwiches. Tots are great as is anything with ā€œArchie Sauceā€

Wings and wings and more wings oh yeah and the beer

By Breaking1 |

Great service, great beer, great tv's, great wings, I tried most of the wings and now I can't ever have wings till I go back. They are grilled not your normal battered and deep fried in oil. They have buck hunter game and a basketball hoop. Great vibes and people.

Great Football watching

By Jesseohara |

Super fun place to hang out and watch the football games. Our servers were awesome and laid back. It's so much fun we came back the next day. Food was delicious and large portions. The only issue was a rude security person at the door. I bought a fruit drink at a farmers market a block away. RUDELY told me you can either down that or throw it away. Right after me told a guy holding a baby the same thing although he had hot coffee. I understand the rules you just don't have to be so rude about it. We almost turned around and left.

Excellent

By nucenturion |

Dropped in for lunch with a friend the other day. I had the BBQ Chicken Salad and a cup of Tomato Basil Bisque, both of which were delicious. Service was prompt, friendly and excellent as well. Would definitely try it again..

Fantastic staff, great food, great happy hour

By Michael D |

We were repeat visitors to Bub's and were glad we found it - good food, drink, and specials. The staff, especially Shelby Rae, was fantastic and provided a friendly greeting and wonderful energy to the bar. My kind of place.

Fine

By srhea |

We wanted a certain NFL game on and they accommodated us. I feel like most the staff has had their souls beaten out of them. A lot of staff looking at their watches and struggling to show any customer service enthusiasm.

Zero service

By Adam M |

I'm not sure this has ever happened to me. I was in town on business and came by during lunch at an admittedly very busy time. Found a seat at the bar, in a highly visible location, between other patrons that had drinks and/or food. I sat there for 15 minutes, and didn't get as much as eye contact from the bartenders. Again, they were slammed, but I left hangry because of the complete lack of attention. Will not make that mistake again.

Lunch @ Bubs

By Megan S |

Awesome atmosphere here at Bubs, the staff were so helpful and friendly, good choice of beer and the food was great...Can't wait to go back

Buzzing, good atmosphere and bar food..

By LocalizerUK |

Great sports bar, large selection of beers, good wines and menu of great bar snacks. Cheerful staff do not keep you waiting and food orders arrive promptly and hot. Prices quite reasonable.

Great Atmosphere and food with Sports on a lot of big screens

By Fly_4_a_living |

Had Steak Um recommended to me by server and was very satisfied. Steak was sliced and served on sizzling cast iron skillet with onions and mushrooms. Seasoning was excellent. Ate during March Madness game and even got to watch a hockey game. Good local draft and bottle beer selections.

Fun Pre-Game but Food just So-So

By jmbc04 |

We stopped here a couple of hours before Padres vs Mets game and were able to get a table. Service was friendly and efficient but the food was average to below average starting with the disappointing $12 pretzel we had as an appetizer . Chicken tenders , mac and cheese and burgers were all disappointing as well. Bill came to almost $100 including tip for one appetizer, 2 beers, and 4 entrees. Atmosphere was fun but with so many other restaurants in the area, this was not a good choice.

Perfect place for burgers and beers pre game

By eihi22 |

Loved this place. So close to Petco park. We stopped here after touring the midway on our way to the padres game. 12 year old loved the indoor basketball court. Parents loved the beer. Our 14 year old is allergic to dairy and nuts...staff was great.( thanks cate). We felt confident. Burgers were excellent. Archie chicken sandwich was not an east coast thing at all...but was so good We will be back someday.

Great place to take in a game and get a good meal.

By Paul W |

A few of my colleagues and I decided to take in the Yankees/Blue Jays game for dinner. Bub's is right around the corner from our hotel and right on the edge of the Gaslamp district. This place has a ton of tv monitors and staff are quick to take requests. We decided to sit at the bar and had a huge screen directly in front of us. Monitors are a little high and after the first our we were all stretching and rotating our necks due to the fatigue of looking up. Bartenders are all friendly and attentive. Drinks and food came quickly. My friends were eyeballing my Montreal Steakum's, "all the way" and it was very good. Took my time enjoying every bite. Good crowd on a Tuesday night. I highly recommend this place if your looking to take in a game or just be in a place that is not empty on a week night.

Good food by the bakllpark

By dnymud |

Bub's has very good food and drinks close to the ballpark. We stopped here after a long day walk through the Gaslamp area. Excellent staff who was very friendly. Nice indoor and outdoor seating and the weather was awesome. Can't go wrong here.

Wings!

By Stephen W |

No frills place but thet do great chicken wings, a portion is 10 wings. Over 100 beers to chose from in the sports bar

Another Sports Bar

By Jeanie J |

Bub's has a great location just down the street from Petco Park and has lots of TVs, so it's always crowded. The food is relatively good, the drinks are fine, but the experience was overshadowed by the indifferent attitude of the bartenders. They were just going through the motions and needed to clean up their appearances and attitudes. There are so many choices In the Gaslamp that in my opinion, the service matters.

Great food and service

By Jason S |

We stopped here after stopping by the Padres team store. I had a steak sandwich that was amazing. Our group also had chicken tenders that were really good. They come with tator tots that were cooked to crispy the only way to eat the tots. Our waitress was helpful, funny, and interacted with our son which he enjoyed. Overall this was a good place to stop for lunch and I appreciated the extra effort to interact with my son.

Huge sports bare near Pet Co

By Visalia11 |

We stopped in for a drink before the game. The place is huge and very popular. Not a bit fancy but good place for drinks and burger etc. We has Bloody Marys and enjoyed them. Staff and patrons were friendly. It can get crowded.

Great bar

By OnTravelsAgain |

It was St Patrick’s day so the city was busy and we stumbled upon Bubs so headed there for a beer and ended up staying there. The food was much better than the surroundings would first lead you to think, but they try hard to make this into a dive bar, it is actually very good as a bar with good food and service. Certainly one we will return to.

Watched the NCAA title game at Bubs

By Steve D |

The place was packed and extremely loud. When we walked in I thought it would be a challenge to be served but our waitress was on her game. We ordered wings and beers and she checked on us regularly. Tip: get the Archie wings. Not too hot and huge. Good place to watch the game and have good pub food.

Very bad experience wirh Fulbrighters from all over the world

By Esteban G |

I won't ever come back to this place as our experience went from slightly pleasant to a complete nightmare in a matter of seconds. This is what happened: We were with a group of Fulbrighters from all over the world (RumanĆa, Colombia, Czhec Republic, Slovakia, Tajikistan,Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Spain; I name the nationalities just for you to understand that this is not culturally related) that went out for a beer. One of our colleagues from Tajikistan, went out for a smoke and when he tried to get back in, the bouncer didn't allow it because "he didn't speak English". Another friend tried to reason with this person mentioning that English was not his native language but he said "get out of my face" and immediately became aggressive. We asked our very kind brazilian waitress to talk with her colleague and she immediately told him that we all came together and that we were all international. He finally let him in again. Even if we were having a good time, our experience completely changed and we will never come back again. We encourage you not to go in this place as it seems they don't know they live in a world where not everybody speak native English. For you information: this happened in the Gaslamp District, which is supposed to be an international environment.

New menu items

By RhondaB |

Super excited about Bub's new quinoa dishes! I've always loved the atmosphere, but found that "healthy" offerings were non-existent. (I KNOW it's mostly a BAR). Anyway, I was super excited to try their new offerings & I was not disappointed. The Salmon Power Bowl is awesome!! My family also enjoyed the fish & chips. Thank you Bub's!!! We will be back for more!

Amazing chicken wings!!

By Birdseye90 |

We were only in San Diego for the night as a stop over and stumbled across this place on a wander round. So glad we went in!! The wings were insane, such a cracking choice of sauces and the service was awesome!! Wish I could remember the guy's name! Thanks for a great night all :)

Pre game

By Kate S |

We had a blast getting a beer here before the game. Don't expect quick service- simply because their bartenders and waiters are constantly busy. It's clearly not a lack of effort thing- these people work their tails off!! Tip well- enjoy a game and relax.

Amanda is the best

By Hayley F |

Amanda is the best! So efficient and friendly, even when it’s crazy/busy! We were impressed after the Diplo 5k. She was running the whole bar by herself and everyone was served in a timely manner with good service.

On the corner close the ball park. Outside seating available and definitely a good choice on a warm night. The views can't be beat. Close walk from many of the downtown hotels. Wide selections of beers on tap, many from the local micro breweries. A small description of the beer on the chalkboard. Plenty of TV if you want to watch sports while dining. Food was good, service was hit and miss. First visit our waitress was outstanding. Very attentive, remembered what everyone was drinking, memorized the food order. Impressive! Second time waitress was a let down. Not bad but just not the skill level of our first visit. If you are looking for the entire package of bar night with food this is a good place to check out.

Good time

We had lunch at Bub's today and found it to be good service, nice atmosphere and average food. The menu had lots to choose from so it wasn't hard to find something to eat.

Awesome

By MelTorrie |

Best cooked wings I've ever had. Still need to explore the flavors but the bake/broil combo was perfect for crisp/juicy. The jambalaya skillet was also excellent! Chicken cooked just right.

Good Place

Great sports bar to hangout with friends or coworkers after a long work day. Great service, drinks and food.

Home Run!

By Pakiana |

On Labor Day Bub's was all about Red Sox Nation!! What a surprisingly great find on our way to the game!! This place was hopping with Sox fans (can you tell that I am one?) and really put a spin on the start of our day! The local beer was awesome, wings were tasty, and service outstanding!! We had the time of our life and highly recommend it - we will definitely go back to Bub's!

Everything Tots

By Jim W |

Big portions almost always served with a side of tater-tots and tater-tot meals as well. Service can be slow at times although often faster when quite busy. Amazing selection of food and drink.

Great place for a burger and beer any time!

By Diane G |

Arrived at this place right before 11:00 and had my choice of seats...withing literally 10 minutes the entire place was packed! (didn't realize the Padres had a 1:00 game that day) I ordered their 1/2 lb. burger with fries. The server was friendly, prompt and came back a few times to make sure all was right. The burger was very fresh and tasty and the fries freshly made. Great price and friendly people - will definitely return!

Great Atmosphere, Cold Beer, & Fantastic and Friendly Service

By PapaK60 |

No ball game today ~ but you'd never know it! I was out working on my 10k steps and taking in the bars for beers when I found Bub's at the Ballpark. Inside or outside... a great atmosphere... very friendly staff... and great service. Had couple of beers and off on my trek ... the food looked fantastic! Within a 10 minutes of the Marriott ... highly recommend you look to Bub's!

Great little gem in the Gaslamp district

By ShawnH9 |

Don’t let the bar vibe hide the fact that this place has some killer food. The pretzel was simply outstanding. I’m a sucker for grilled cheese and this place didn’t disappoint. The tots are awesome too! Must visit. Say hi to Christian at the bar - she will take good care of you!

Uninspiring.

By msemp |

Take-out order for some wings. It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t good. The order wasn’t cooked quite long enough so it was a bit of a soggy mess, and the flavor was on the bland side. No game, was on the early side and was pretty empty so not sure what the problem was. It probably hops on a game day, but I won’t bother going back to find out.

Lunch

By sheilahsi |

Typical bar food - nachos, wings, soup & salads. friendly wait staff. Extensive beer & wines. TV's everywhere.

A fairly good sports bar

By Aaron T |

In general I would say this was a decent stop. The food was very greasy but then again it is a sports bar. Prices were very high for the quality of the food. To watch a game it is a fun environment. Overall I would not go back here but it was a decent stop.

A must do!

By Gary M |

It's a Baseball themed bar with a great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food and decent prices! The Breckenridge Porter was delicious, my clear favourite and my wife enjoyed here Margarita too. The Pittsburgh cheese steak and the Archie Chicken Sammitch's were amazing!

Fun before or after the game

By Patricia T |

Great food - Lively atmosphere - very attentive bar staff - close to park Lot's of fun! A little noisy, but it IS a bar!

Great Bloody Mary Bar

By Kelly c |

Stopped in for a Bloody Mary on super bowl Sunday morning. Brian personalized the drink with a Variety of salts on the rim plus veggies and bacon!

Great sports bar with great bar food

By John S |

Impressive beer selection. Food was surprisingly VERY good...fresh and well made. Not a big wing eater but their baked wings were the best I have ever had. Great staff as well.

Turkey burger -- yuck

By Double "Ollie" Winner |

Slow service, empty drink most of the meal, and a horrible (not fresh) turkey burger...tasted like a patty that had been frozen for months before cooking. The fries were excellent.

Awesome sandwiches

Best steak sub ever. Its cut up steak! !! The archie was great. Beer is good. Come at happy hr. Good eating

Ball Park Joint - Go when there isn't a Game

By YANNIS K |

We went to this place for some drinks on an off night in San Diego for a conference, and were thoroughly impressed. The drinks are reasonably priced, the staff is great, and the music is spot on. The irony is that this place gets out of control on game nights, but I would recommend going on an off night for the real experience.

beers and basketball

By wuzed111 |

went for the SDSU game recently, not too much as far as fans, but a great place to see the game. open air seats on the perimeter of the restaurant. we found bar spots and had some nice beers, which they have a nice selection of. we didn't eat because it was pretty spendy, but a good atmosphere to see a game on TV. it's right next to Petco Park, which is probably nice on game day for the Padres.

Lunch near Petco

By Nadene R |

Stopped at Bub's for a quick lunch when we arrived in SanDiego. We make it a point to eat here each time we visit San Diego. I had a Soba bowl and my husband had a Woody Burger with sweet potato tots! Both were very satisfying. We'll return again the next time we're in San Diego!

Dem wingzzzz

By Mike W |

Gotta get all up in dem wingz! They were so good! Few portions of wings, loaded nachos and a constant flow of beers. Need anything else? Theres a basketball hoop to drop some bad ones!

" The Different Style of Chicken Wings is Worth the Visit "

By David Miller |

Bub's at the Ballpark is within walking distance to Petco Park (duh, hence their name) and it gets real packed it gets during an actual game! At the time we went, there was a guy at the door to check ID and then we were left to finding our own table since it was open seating. Bub's probably has some of the BEST WINGS I have ever had that were not deep fried!! They have so many flavors to choose from too and everything is decently priced for the huge portions they give you. They also have an very large drink menu with a bunch of different mules! If I lived in downtown San Diego, this would be one of my regular places I would go too...and they have a bunch of games like Jenga and Connect Four to entertain you, making this place a fun place to go before a Padre game. The Archie Wings are the Bomb !

Great food Great people!

By 704bret77 |

Can not bet the wings, the staff and the atmosphere. Offers all sports and the bartenders will remember you.

Good food and a great service

By Jose |

The menu has many choices. We ordered a big salad and a pastrami sandwich. These were very good. Our server, Elizabeth was very nice and helpful.

Need somewhere for a good meal before a game at Petco Park?

By Jim E |

In San Diego for a few days with my wife, and decided to catch a game at Petco - Padres & Mets. After walking around the Gaslamp Quarter for a while, we decided to look for something closer to the ballpark. Bub’s looked interesting - easy walk to Petco, outdoor (or indoor) seating, and a casual bar/pub atmosphere. Turned out to be exactly what we wanted. Good, quick service. Nice selection of beers on tap. And probably the best Black & Blue burger I’ve ever had! By the way, Mets won a thriller, 7-6! LET’S GO METS!!!

Pre-ballgame

By Head5353 |

What a great place! Very close to Petco - great service with comfortable seating. Typical pub fare as far as food is concerned but it was well presented and very satisfactory. Highly recommended before a game....or anytime.

Great bar with good food

By chefjeff60 |

Went here on a Sunday to watch the NFL games it was busy and they had all the games on. So that was fantastic ordered a salad for lunch it was huge and delicious. This is a nice place to watch the games have a drink and get some good food. Our server was great and took good care of us too.

Favorite place in the Gaslamp Quarter

By CAT_785 |

This is my favorite restaurant/bar in the Gaslamp quarter. Sandwiches and tater tots are fantastic. Great beer selection too. I always recommend it to friends that are in the area.

Excellent burgers

By Getmearumpunch |

We had a late lunch on a weekday so it wasn't crowded. The place is probably jam-packed on game days, though. Still, it would be worth a long wait for these burgers. Our burgers were done to perfection, and the fries were excellent. We would definitely go back.

Great Turkey Burgers!

By Brenda A |

We picked this restaurant because it had a parking spot available. This is a very hard area to find parking! We decided to eat indoors and really loved the place. It is a fun place to eat! The service was great and we all enjoyed out food. They grind their own turkey each day so there turkey burgers are awesome. My husband had a burger and really liked it. We would definitely eat there again!

TRULY incredible sandwiches!!!! and beer!!!!

By mrrrkva |

This is a place you CANT miss!!! The steak subs use REAL pieces and BITES of steaks. IT is truly the BEST steak sandwich I have EVER had. We ate here TWICE!!! Good beer selection as well.

Great Food, Surprisingly Good Salad!

By Barbara A |

I didn't expect this place to have a yummy salad, but it was so fresh and the Ranch dressing was homemade and incredible! Pretty great tomato bisque soup, too! A little short-staffed, but very friendly.

Good for late night kitchen

By joshua b |

Many places in Gaslamp District closed their kitchens by ten PM. Bub's was still open and hopping. Good food, lots of beers on tap, right next to Petco and close to lots of nightlife.

Wings were just as good as before

By Ed H |

I had to come back the next time I was in San Diego just for the wings. Big meaty wings, grilled not fried, I'm getting hungry just writing about them! Excellent service too!

Great place to watch a game

By Tim T |

On recent trip to SD, since the hotel didnt have FS1 or NFL network, I went to sportsbar to take in a game. Had Uber drop me at gaslamp and I walked a bit from there until coming upon Bubs. Spot was open at the bar, so not too crowded, but certainly not slow and dead either. Ended up going there a second night, lots of good beers on tap. Food is pretty good for sports bar fare. First night tried the Pastrami, it was OK, not great, next night did their Pittsburgh steak sando, which is pretty much like a Philly, it was good. They had some other intriguing opitons on the menu. The first night I was there, I tried some wings which were the special on Thursday nights for .50 each, they were good size wings and sauce was excellent. Service was really good, the bartenders (different each night) were very attentive and pleasant. Crowd was into the games. It is near Petco, so I can imagine it gets packed pre/post Padre games. But if youre in the gaslamp looking for sportsbar to take in a game, give Bubs a try, wont be disappointed.

Excellent service and great pub food

By Melissa80020 |

This is near our hotel so we thought we would check it out. It was very loud inside so we sat at a table on the patio and were very impressed with our server. She was very attentive and gave great advice about food and drinks. The veggie burger was delicious and very flavorful. The sweet potato tots were good too. I like that there were many beers from local breweries on tap too. I would definitely go back.

Good Sports Bar

By hattrick225 |

Located in the heat of the Gaslamp, and nearby Petco Park. Very good selection of craft beers, local and regional. Very lively place in the evenings - a great place to hang out with friends.

Love Bub's

By nateregehr |

Always liked going to Bub's in PB, so it's cool to see it downtown next to the stadium as well. Great food, good drinks, and a fun time.

Excellent customer service and food August 22 2015

By Camie41 |

OMG this sports bar is great. Get there early this place gets pack quick . I had the plain BBQ wings with a side of fries and a Saint Archer draft beer. Excellent food and ice beer I highly recommend this place our server was great I wish they would offer cheese cake which goes great when having a beer. We will be back when we visit San Diego.

Great Place for Burgers and Beer

By NoLayup |

Stumbled into this bar leaving Comic Con. Had great, creative burgers. Wait Staff was very accommodating and was in no rush to get you out the door. Plenty of TV's easily visible from our table. TV selections ranged from Padres Baseball, Soccer, Rugby, Tour De France and other MLB Games. Liked it so much we went back a second time.

Wings!!!!

By Ed H |

Just happened to stop by, saw someone order the wings and had to try them. OMG!!! They claim to be baked first and then grilled, no frying and I believe them. Big, tender and juicy. I tried 2 of their variety of sauces and they were both excellent! Nice selection of brews on tap and typical bar/tv screen atmosphere. I was a little disappointed in the fries, they seemed like the frozen variety but the wings more than made up for that.

Best place for wings PERIOD!

By Jebbie S |

Forget those nasty wings with boobs or the ones with some high school student drooling and coughing on your wings; GO TO BUB'S AT THE BALLPARK FOR THE BEST WINGS OF YOUR LIFE!!!!! These are the best wings I've ever had! My most common flavors in order of tastiness are: 1. Loca 2. Carribian Jerk 3. Honey Habenero 4. Archie Habenero 5. Archie 6. Mango Habanero And get some of those damn tots! You can do WING WEDNESDAY FOR AYCE (BUT NOT ON A GAME DAY)., since it's within a fool's stumble of Petco Park. I don't drink, but the beer menu is so tempting I might start again! There's so many flavors and brews to choose from! The pretzel isn't worth it; but who goes there for a pretzel?

For Post game beers with no $10 cover

By GFKelly |

We were here after each Padres game and had a great time. Didnt eat, but the beer was cold, the bartenders friendly and patient, and the bathrooms clean.

Cool bar near the stadium

By kari1001 |

We came here to pregame before a Padre's game. There were lots of fans as it's only a block away. Great for people watching! We only had drinks but it did look like a good menu. Not many specials on game night, but they did offer $4 shots with purchase of a beer. Service was prompt despite the busy atmosphere. Worth checking out before a game.

Nice beer menu...

By Nicholas P |

We visited San Diego for a long weekend and were looking for a joint with a good beer menu. We recommend to all that that are looking for a loud, but good beverage and sports bar in Downtown San Diego.

Large private event at Bubs.

By K H |

I recently attended a large private event at Bub’s. They were closed to the public for this evening. I was surprised but we filled them up. But the wait and bar staff did a great job to keep drinks and appetizers flowing. Can’t be easy when a large group walks in at the same time. The star was friendly and helpful. They have a nice variety of brews. The appetizers were good. This is more of a bar setting....but a fun place to grab a meal. It’s just a short walk from the baseball park. Don’t hesitate to check it out. Enjoy!

Great place to watch a game

By Dori |

The service was pretty good with handling a large , thirsty party during a loud game with fans on both sides cheering. The wings were hot! The tater tots were amazing, great beer selection too. Cool place.

Gotta love Bub’s

By OnTravelsAgain |

Great bear, assembly’s atmosphere, reasonable food and just an enjoyable place to be. We had a rest time, having a few bears and a bite to eat, certainly a better option than many of the bars in Gaslamp.

Great Quick Food

By Steve K |

This is a great bar. A group of about 15 of us stopped in there without calling ahead and they didn't even bat an eye, seated us without problem. This place has a good, relaxed, casual feel. They list their specialty as tater tots, and they were good. The food came out quick, hot and exactly as advertised. I was more than happy with the way they prepared the food. There are a million TVs in this place, so if you want to watch a game and get some good grub, head right over to Bub's. I will definitely make a return trip here on my next trip to San Diego.

Fun place - tater tot heaven!

By StanleyandMarie |

We stopped by Bub's while we were exploring the area. It has a fun vibe....a basketball area where you can throw hoops, and a large bar with seating along the street patio. Lots of tv screens showing lots of sports too! We sat at the bar and enjoyed some happy hour local craft beer while trying one of their tater tot happy hour specials. The portion was so huge, we could not finish it. We also ordered wings and really enjoyed their flavor. A great little spot to enjoy a brew and/or a meal!

Get your act together!

By Tina W |

My husband and I were visiting from Alabama and were searching for a sports bar where we could watch a 9 am (11 am central time) SEC football game. We dropped by two days before the Saturday matchup to be sure Bub's would be open that early. A waitress at the bar assured us they would be open. When we arrived at 9 that Saturday, we walked in only to be told by the hostess that they would not open until 10. TVs were on and some employees were there but the hostess turned us away. WE MISSED our kickoff. Not cool, hostess. Not cool, Bub's. You have lost our business FOREVER!!!!

Best Food Downtown

By Andrew T |

By far the best food downtown. Consistently always good. A lot of places downtown are over hyped and you pay more for what it's really worth. For a place that's a sports bar, it is more livelier than other destinations downtown. Randy and Rebecca are my go to bartenders and they always get my space dust to me ASAP.

Nice place to hang out before the game

By Keith B |

Had an hour to kill before the gates opened Went in and the sports bar was hopping. The drinks were fairly decently priced. The staff was very friendly, it was clean and it was a great place to recommend to others.

Sports bar at Petco Park

By Vian Castillo |

Coming out of our visit to Petco Park, we came across this place where we were captivated by the number of screens and the large bar. The food is very delicious, the portions are large so if you are not very hungry you better order an appetizer or something to share. The tap is very varied and the beers they offer are very delicious, all local. It seemed a bit expensive to me but it's worth it.

Crazy Busy Before A Padres Game!

By Jenni C |

Stopped in for a beer on the way to a Padres home game. The place was so full it was standing room only. The staff were all super busy, and we waited a few minutes to order, and a bit longer to be served. Took about 5 minutes to close out our tab because we had to find our server again in the sea of people. The selection of beers was good- a combination of local microbrews and macrobrews. If you have the time and like the crowds; this place is for you.

Poor Service, Average Food

By Gary S |

It took a long time for anyone to even recognize our party despite the fact they were tending to tables beside us. Finally we got waited on then it took a long time for our food. The guy who waited on us never came back around then we saw him working in the kitchen. Finally we waited a long time for our checks and took them to the bar ourselves to pay and get out of there. He offered an apology saying they were short-handed and then told us to come back and he'd give us a couple beers. Pass.

Great Athmosfere

By Daniel M |

Great place to hangout with your friends and / or significant other. Fantastic service and did is good.

Poor front of house

By Harley |

Went to visit this bar as wanted something easy and chilled for dinner with my boyfriend who is also a big fan on beer. As we arrived we waited in the line for a group of 6 or so people to be seen, when it was finally our turn we both handed over our ID to the front guy. My boyfriend was let in when I handed over my UK drivers licence, I was then told that because I had not handed over my passport (which nobody carries about with them on holiday, it’s just common sense) I was told I would not be allowed in. I would recommend that you get someone on your front of house who is trained on checking all IDs that SHOULD have been accepted. If a police officer pulled me over I would be asked for my drivers licence so I don’t understand why this couldn’t be accepted at your bar/restaurant.

Great food, cold beer, and lots of sports on TV. What else you want?

By Swodog94 |

Bub's is the quintessential sports bar. It's in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter (and is the only true sports bar), one block from PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres...and most importantly, one block from my apartment! There are dozens of TV's and the managers are always ready to help you find your game. I follow the Baltimore Orioles and this is the only way to catch their games on a daily basis, barring getting some sort of subscription service. They have well over 30 beers on tap, most of them local brews (and in case you haven't heard, the San Diego craft brew scene is off the hook! Try Ballast Point's Sculpin.). All the food is great, with tasty burgers and other sports bar fave's (including tots!), but I have to single out the wings. Their wings are HUGE and grilled to perfection with several sauces to choose from. As a Crystal City transplant, they remind me of the wings you get at the Hard Times CafƩ in Old Town Alexandria. Bottom line: great food, cold beers, and lots of sports on TV. What else you want?

Good Sports Bar VIBE!

By Jimbo |

Staying at the nearby Marriott, my wife and I wanted somewhere to watch a few games and not have to pay the high food prices in other nearby places. We decided on Bub's and we liked it. Good selection of drinks, the staff was great and lots of TV's to watch the games. She had the chicken tenders and I had the garbage wings and both were good for the price we paid. For sure as other posted below, the place can get packed on Padre baseball game days.

Great fish tacos

By Jim B |

Sports bar atmosphere and the patrons were lively and watching many TV's. Very pleasant waitress and was right there just as I was seated. She recommended the fish tacos and they were delicious. Two tocos with NON-greasy chips. The salsa had a nice kick to it, not too hot. Fun atmosphere. You could take your family here and not break the bank!

A Birthday Party I Will Never Forget

By PilotMike2009 |

We were in San Diego for a convention, and my team discovered Bub's early in the week. It became our "go to" place at the end of the day, once we had dined with customers and shoo'd them off to their hotels. Jessica was our barmaid, and she was BETTER than great. The drinks were good, the TVs abundant, and on the 5th Anniversary of Bub's opening we were invited to join the party. I have some photos — ice sculptures, free buffalo wings, far too much to drink — so it is probably is best just to keep them to myself. In any case, walk over to Bub's in the Gaslamp district and see if you can talk them parting with one of the increasingly rare and totally ugly Bub's baseball cap: we got a set for our whole team!

Busy at lunchtime, good food

By Jodi6759 |

The Cobb Salad was very good. The specialty is tater tots served in a variety of ways. I did not have them so I can't comment on them. It was busy but our server kept up.

Food is Great, Service is hit and miss

By Christa J |

We were in town for a week. This became our meeting place for our group of 24. On most afternoons/nights the service was outstanding. However, it seemed like when they were really busy (game days), we would end up with a seemingly inexperienced waitress who was stressed out by the size of our group. The bartenders were all amazing. Food was yummy. They have a giant pretzel in the shape of a face. Several of us ate off the thing, it is huge. All the food we ate the entire week was tasty. No complaints on that.

Sports Bar

By vagabondginger |

Located right by Petco Park this place had a couple dozen TV's with hockey, basketball, baseball games going but must not have been any important games as no-one was really paying any attention to any of them. I just stopped in for a Stone Buenaveza draft pint. I'm sure a place like this can really get hopping when the Padres play or when there's a major sports event on TV. Menu look liked it could be good pub grub.

Great beer menu in an unpretentious setting.

By Loopy1968 |

If you love to try different beers in an unpretentious setting, Bub’s is the spot. Service was excellent - I spilled almost a full glass and they gave me another no charge. Ordered the nachos to share - amazing.

Local Watering Hole

By 265CurtA |

Great spot to watch the walk up crowd for the ballgame. Fun atmosphere, fun servers. But, also note that this is a sports bar. So loud and boisterous. Very good at keeping the rowdiness down with security and early last call during the game.

Great Burger!

By billhV8285JU |

We decided to grab a beer before the baseball game. The ballpark is just around the corner from Bub's, which makes it an easy decision. When we sat down the table next to us was receiving their food and another round of drinks. The food looked and smelled incredibly good! When our waitress arrived, we decided to order some food instead of eating at the game (a no brainer decision, in my opinion). I had a burger that arrived in short order. I have to tell you the burger was really good!! Everyone at our table had something different and were pleased with their selection. So if you are downtown San Diego, swing into Bub's at the Ballpark for some good food, beer and lively atmosphere.

Fun stop before the game.

By Joan W |

They don't do happy hour on game days so may have to go back. Had the clean and soba noodle salad which was delicious. Ice cold bud light and good grilled chicken wings.

Super!

By thesweetp57 |

Best tater tots ever! Staff was fast and friendly...had a burger and went back a couple of days later for a salad, both were great! Didn’t have to wait long for a table on a Saturday night...will return!

The best place in San Diego to watch NFL Sunday(s).

By KurtisThrasher777 |

Where's the best place to go on Football Sunday? Bub's is the place, not only do they have every game on but they give you a "sound box" for any game you want to listen too. I recommend the Bloody Mary open bar that allows you to create your drink with a wide range of condiments. Also, the tater tots are the best in town, I should know, Iam from Idaho....Go Boise State Broncos...

Tater Tots...who would've thought....

By jerry_maguire1 |

great place to spend the day watching some football! Great staff, great selection of beers and the food,....really? Who would've thought you could do so much with a tater tot...but they did! Great place to hang out and watch some sports!

Excellent bar food for a good dinner!

By who_we_talkin_about |

Bub's has an excellent selection of your standard pub food, but taken up to the next level. We enjoyed everything we had and the open air atmosphere was excellent!!

Really fun before a game

By BDM22_12 |

This place plays great music, has AWESOME fish tacos, great chicken wings, and a really fun atmosphere for people of all ages. It's not pretentious, fancy, or upscale. Just a fun place to enjoy drinks and good food.

Burgers and beer

By Hans |

Go here for juicy burgers, and their wide selection of beers on tap. We dined at the bar, watching the maymac fight. Service was excellent, and never had to wait for anything

Worst service!

By Liza |

Worst service. Took awhile for someone to take our order. Plus food was not good. My hamburger meat was falling apart was not cooked well like I asked. Waitress was not friendly at all. She looked stressed out. Will not go back.

Amazing lunch

By RyanMaz |

In town for business, I loved the salad menu here. They had a 1/2 order of kale and broccoli that was fantastic. It cost $7.50

Bad service, no smile, no

By RƩmi C |

Bad service, no smile, no attention and then use the heart technique on the receipt just to get their tip, pathetic. Over expensive for the quality, very poor. Barmaid didn’t even know the names of their own cocktails. Ā« One is vodka, and the other tastes like bourbon Ā» well yea they both tastes like soda water... and Who the hell on earth is killing quinoa with grated emmental all over? The cheese tasted really, really suspicious. I had to stop eating. Over expensive for dodgy food. The manager was also having fun with the staff, instead of serving customers properly.. Avoid it.. tourist trap.

Fun bar restaurant

By Gman |

Tatertot heaven - the funny things you learn about your wife. She loves em. Had the Archie- yummy and a bit hot. I had a huge chicken salad also spicy. Huge portions and cheap. Oh and a very large beer selection with lots of local choices. Despite the fact that it was super busy before Eagles we got great service from the young lady. Awesome. Thank you.

Great college age sports bar with plenty of tv's and awesome food. For those of us that have college age kids we were hesitant but we found a spot on the deck and enjoyed every bit. Must try tater tots. We had the spinach artichoke ones. Sooooo good. Went home with the "garbage wings". Even more delicious cold.

January 1 2017 Great food customer service needs improving

By Camie41 |

This was our second trip to this sports bar this time we had taken some friends the food is always excellent but I wish they offered A larger variety of cocktail or tropical drinks they have a large selection of beers the food is excellent I had a barbecue chicken salad which was great my friends had burgers barbecue and plain grilled chicken wings which are always excellent try the tater tots they are awesome. I do suggest getting there early if you plan on watching a sporting event it's a nice size place but it gets packed quick. The customer service could be a little bit better I don't think they had enough people working that day we went after New Year's eve service is a little slow took about 10 almost 15 minutes for drinks to be delivered to our table once the drinks were delivered we just ordered right away because she was taking too long to come back to my table. I do recommend this place for the food.

Fantastic Place!

By Simon B |

I actually went to Bub's on three occasions during my week in San Diego - the atmosphere was addictive! This is a sports bar with some great food on offer and a wide selection of beers (both global and craft). The menu has many items I hadn't seen anywhere else during my travels but the selection of 'topped tots' caught my eye and these were incredible. On another occasion I had their 'garbage' wings which are made of a sauce that combines all of their other sauces - so good! I recommend this place to anyone who is visiting San Diego. It is right next to Petco Park and ideal to head to 2 hours before a game for drinks, food, atmosphere and then a short stroll to the game.
