I took my teenage son and his friends here after a day at Universal Studios. They loved it. It always fun to look at the chaotic art (?). Food is family style for sure. Everything we had was great! Love the salads here too! They take your photo for a nice memory of your dinning experience, which was fun for the boys.

This restaurant was honestly a bad experience. It is very pricy and the food was honestly close to terrible. All meals we ordered were very disappointing. Overcooked, not tasty. I don't call that an Italian restaurant. Very basic.

I have eaten at a Bucca di Beppo before in Garden grove California and I looked forward to eating hear again during my vacation. However This Buccas in Universal City Walk was not as good. 1st the ambience was good just like I expected based on visiting a different Buccas, but that was the only thing i liked. The service was just ok, The waitress, Cynthia, didn't know the prices of menu items. She didn't translate the menu into a culinary road map like i would've liked, instead she left us to figure it out for ourselves. The food was expensive, which is ok because I'm not cheap, but the quality wasn't good. I thought Buccas was a true Italian restaurant based on my previous visit to the garden grove location, but now I know that the food is prepared of site and recooked and not worth the prices. I felt like this restaurant was trying to squeeze every dollar out of my wallet before I could get out of the door. Beware of the person taking the photos its another hand in your wallet. I do not recommend this restaurant.....

So, we have been out all day exploring, we are tired, hungry and this place has been recommended. We are also in shorts and t shirt (as I said we've been out all day) so we are casual but certainly not scruffy. When entering the reception area a young guy was busy checking out his own reflection using his phone and making sure his hair looked OK, he then told us he wasn't a host so he would get one and (at our request) gave us a menu. On first glance this looks pricey, until you realise that dishes are supposed to be shared. We sat for a while, the young guy returned along with 2 young girls - the 3 of them all on their phones and discussing some celeb who "is just sooooo gorgeous though" whilst I am sure she is gorgeous and far more appealing to the eye than us in our casuals, she is not there waiting for someone to pay her some attention as she is hungry!!! We considered leaving, but it had been a long day and quite honestly we decided to rise above it. So we asked for a table....... "Shall is sit them in ******* (didn't catch where was suggested) said one of the girls "NOOOOOO" replied the other........it's ok, I'm British, I can take it (I hadn't brushed my hair in about 8 hours and had on no makeup - they couldn't possibly put me in a public place where I may put other diners off their food!!) So we are taken upstairs, the girl tried to make polite conversation but quite honestly she'd made her 1st impression on me and it wasn't a positive one!!! Then we walk past the Manager - not a happy man judging by the look on his face or listening to the way he speaks to his staff!!!! By this point we were ready to throw in the towel, but as good polite citizens we took our seats.........and that's when everything changed!!! Along came our server, Natalie - what an absolute delight she was. Attentive, polite, chatty and genuinely interested in us. We talked about our travels, about her work, plans, studies, about where she would like to travel to and of course about the restaurant and the food. Natalie has the ability to converse and show interest in her customers whilst not slacking and not neglecting other customers. The food was really good, big portions, well cooked, well presented and very tasty. In summary - employ more Natalie's and give that girl a rise - she single handedly (and without even knowing or trying) turned our poor first impressions into a really enjoyable evening. And perhaps give the boss a lesson in customer service - we could start with a smile perhaps and go from there........

Sugary sauces, zero flavor. Great service but the food is abominable. Go to Karl Strauss for pretty good food on citywalk.

Buca is a family style Italian restaurant, franchised throughout the US. The translation for the name of the place is loosely, "in the basement". I bring this up because most of the seating at the Universal City Walk location for this particular Buca is upstairs. All the food selections are served family style although they do have selections for individual servings. During the summer tourist season of May through September it's best to call ahead for a reservation just in case they are being hammered by Universal Theme Park attendees. If you like Italian then you'll like Buca. Parking costs a minimum of $10 for a regular space, I believe it's $20 for a closer space which makes no difference if you're just going to eat in/on the City Walk so don't do it. The pizza is thin crust style served as a sheet. Full bar. Pasta, chicken marsala, stuffed shells etc. Think Olive Garden served family style if you've never been here before. Or if you've never been to an Olive Garden think americanized version of Italian food. Peace.

was welcomed with smile and pleasant greetings. got seated immediately. and the food was great. Portions are large.. one large pasta and one large garlic bread fed 5 adults.

Great atmosphere and good food. Went here on my birthday which my husband mentioned to the lovely Iran (our waiter). following our meal we had a lovely celebration - clapping and singing. We chose a lovely pasta dish. would recommend dining here if in LA.

I really don't know why someone would go and spend so much for low quality food there. I though it was nice Italian food so I went with couple of friends.... we waited oven an hour for the pasta and the place was not even busy... I spent over $50 on salad while waiting for the disgusting low quality and overpriced pasta. when I mentioned lack of service to Mario (assumed he was one of the managers) he didn't really care to talk to me... 3 of us, spent $200 and no respect from anyone to even hear us to improve the service for the next guest... there are so many nice restaurants there, respect yourself and eat somewhere else, before you spent lot of money for low quality food, and get disrespected...

A charming and lively place for dinner. Service was excellent, it was attentive yet not intrusive. Food suggestions were perfect. They have small servings for 2 persons and group servings for 4. Pasta is great...the pizza, fabuloso!

Four of us went for dinner, we were not particularly hungry so shared two pizzas. All dishes are designed to share with a small feeding 2-3 people and large 4-5. We all enjoyed the pizzas and a New Zealand Sav Blanc which was nice but certainly not cheap. Efficient and friendly service. The restaurant was a bit smelly which was attributed to the plastic table cloths. Unfortunately we left a personal item behind when we changed tables and we were unable to retrieve it the next day. Sadly it had not been handed in and the staff were not willing to allow us to check the dining area.

We have dined at several Buca locations across the states and have found all to be consistently good. This one on the City Walk is no different. Portion sizes are large, so a bit of menu planning is necessary to match meal to appetite and manage cost. Staff can help.

The three of us had two appetizers, calamari and mini meatballs, and stuffed shells pasta, so the portion size was just right. They were all good dishes, although it turned out that all of them were served with marinara sauce, so they all ended up tasting very similar. The cheesecake was delicious - dense and creamy, but not overly heavy. The complimentary bread was disappointing. It was served cold and was just not good bread. Service was ok, considering the place was packed on a Saturday night.

We had reservations for our two daughters' birthdays. Went on 9/23/17 at 6:30 p.m. & were seated right away, which was the only good thing about this visit. The waitress, Sydney, acted like we were annoying her. Got the end piece of lasagna which was dry as well as the chicken parm. We asked for more sauce, which you must put a ticket when we asked a second time Sydney informed us!! When it did arrive, we had already eaten both. Didn't dare tell her it was our daughters' birthdays-we just wanted to leave! The kicker, $149 for dinner. Buca we won't be eating with you again. And yes, I'm a real person!!!!!!!!

Our family of five with three teenagers had garlic bread, penne marinara, lasagne, and baked ziti. The garlic bread had a strange bitter taste (maybe burnt garlic), the lasagne was strangely dry, the other two dishes were okay. Service was perfunctory. Overpriced wine.

Great place for Roman Italian family style. Full menu of Italian dishes priced at reasonable rates - always consistent for a pasta crave without tricked out prices or dishes.

My family came to this establishment after a day at the park. We were ready to eat, and after a 20 minute wait we were sat. It took a while for the waiter to great us and take our order (over 10 minutes). We were ready to order at that point. We asked for the family dinner, which included salad, bread, chicken parmigiana and spaghetti with marinara. The chicken, salad and bread all came out at the same time, but no pasta…??? Really, the pasta, staple of the meal was not ready. Not only did it not arrive with the meal, it never arrived. Even after the waiter said it was coming multiple times. He was very apathetic about the situation and instead of taking ownership, blamed everyone else. After asking for a manager twice, one finally arrived. Mind you, still no pasta though. Incomplete meal. He comped the family meal, but not the whole meal. We did order a meal ball for my young daughter as well. I give the restaurant 2 stars because the food that did arrive was great. The hostess, waiter and manager were far from hospitable. We finished our meal around the corner at Voodoo Doughnuts, which were great. I still missed the pasta though.

Buca di Beppo is hidden gem in a quiet corner of the vibrant Universal City Walk, packed with nostalgic pictures and Italian ambiance. This is one restaurant you don't want to miss if you're in town. The family-style dining gives everyone a chance to sample without committing to one entre. The wine selection is decent, as are the menu options, try an original spaghetti, my favorite

To celebrate my nephew's high school graduation, we met at Buca di Beppo Italian restaurant in Universal City. Since there were 10 of us, I made a reservation ahead of time. The menu offers so many different choices that everyone could be pleased. The wait staff was friendly, efficient and attentive.

The food was excellent and so was the service. I will say do not order more than one entree for two people it is a waste. The portions are so big you definitely should share. Luckily we were told this before we ordered and it still was too much for two.

Ate dinner here while staying at the Hilton/Universal Studios to celebrate my daughter landing a primo internship. The service was excellent (thank you, Lucia!) and the food was so good! I had the chicken carbonara and my daughter had the ziti -- both were excellent. We also shared the brussel sprouts, which were also outstanding. We had a great red (cabernet sauvignon) wine with our dinner. The prices may seem steep, but each dish is enough for 3 people -- we took leftovers home and ate two more meals each! My only complaint is that the bread was so delicious that by the time dinner came, we had eaten so much we didn't have a lot of room left for the actual food! I have been to Buca di Beppo here in my hometown (Austin, Texas) and always have enjoyed the food, the service and kitchsy decor.

Tasty food! One of the best options in the area. Food servings at feeding 3 people while accurate could probably be awkward for some. Just wish I could have some of their garlic bread as I write!

A couple of bucks a plate more expensive than most other Buca restaurants, but it was worth it since it was a nice place to unwind after a day at Universal Studios.

We went to Bucca Italian for a nice family dinner — and after seated were told that “family style” apparently means “You all eat the same.” We were told the portions were enough for 2-3 people. So, with two kids, we had to resort to the only thing we would all eat - a single, enormous bowl of spaghetti. Normally when we go out for a meal we enjoy choosing our own dishes, instead it felt like we were eating quick simple dish from home. As a side we did order the meatballs. Unfortunately they had run out (??) But they offered “meat sauce” as a substitute, which turned out to be yesterday’s meatballs, surgically removed from their spherical dignity and rehomed in tomato sauce. I’m not saying they were bad — they just had an air of yesterday. Service? Genuinely lovely. The staff were attentive, friendly, and somehow managed not to drop a single plate while navigating an incredibly steep staircase that customers also used. Speaking of which... Now, the bathroom situation. To reach it, you essentially walk through the kitchen - I couldn't see any meatballs . I’m all for immersive dining, but maybe not between the mop sink and a simmering pot. All in all, the spaghetti was good — and that’s worth something. Just… maybe not a return visit unless they let us order like individuals next time.

I tired the one in New York and it was amazing, this one is great as well, the small portion will feed up to 3 people so make sure not to order much, the experience is great and the food is authentic

Inside a seemingly bland concrete exterior lies a fabulously decorated, plush and almost exotic restaurant, with excellent service, fabulous food & great drinks. Really pleased with our visit here!

Come with a big appetite or bring your friends because the portions are incredible! And that’s a good thing! My husband and I went for dinner and ordered the spaghetti and meatballs plus a small pizza. The spaghetti came in a HUGE bowl! I don’t think we ate half of it at the restaurant? We also ordered a Supreme Italiano....wow, so much food and no room for dessert! A really nice touch of this restaurant is that they have a person who takes your pictures at dinner and you have the option to buy them. You get a custom 4x5 for free and you can buy 2 for $20 and add the 3rd one for $10. Pictures come in a nice frame. Food was great! Hostess and employees were wonderful too. Thank you Becca Di Beppo!

Had dinner in a big group and was amazed at the size of the dishes which can be ordered in small or large portions. Its like entering a musuem not a restaurant but throughly enjoyed the meal.We were attended by Alex and the service was excellent .The taste of the food was very good and the best meal was the brownie sundae( one order is good for 10 persons).Overall would rate it 9.5 out of 10.......

We have visited a few of these locations and so far none have disappointed. The service here was very good and the food was very good. Would recommend visiting on your universal city walk visit.

Went for lunch at around 1.30pm at Buca di Beppo which is located in the shopping area just near Universal Studios. We hadn´t realised that the menu for all dishes were Buca Small (serves 2 to 3) or Buca Large (serves up to 5), when we really wanted to choose two separate dishes each for just one person. We told the waiter this but he said that all the dishes were designed for sharing. However the online website lunch menu shows the Chopped Antipasto Salad only has one option (presumably for one person) priced at $11.99, but the online website menu for dinner has Chopped Antipasto Salad Buca Small $18.99 and Chopped Antipasto Salad Buca Large $27.99. Very confusing. Not wanting to have the same dish we chose Chopped Antipasto Salad Buca Small priced at $18.99 and Mozzarella Caprese Small $16.99. The Chopped Antipasto Salad Buca Small was huge. We had asked for the dressing on the side which was a wise decision because a large bowl of dressing arrived, but was almost chemical tasting which makes you wonder if it is bought in large containers? Is it so difficult to make some fresh vinaigrette dressing in-house? The service was just OK. We ordered a bottle of Greystone Cellars wine $39. We would normally expect for the bottle to opened and small amount poured into a glass for tasting but instead two glasses were immediately poured. We asked for olive oil and vinegar (to be poured on the Caprese) salad. In most Italian restaurants it would be customary to bring oil and vinegar in a dispenser, but instead another waiter poured some olive oil into a saucer. Just a bit odd.

As we finished our Universal Studios tour and walked City Walk we were nearing our garage and we notice Buca di Beppo - it was a welcome detour from burger and fries so we had a late lunch. We had the spaghetti and meatballs - for 3 - was perfect. A real meal and very tasty.

The food is excellent the staff is great fun and the Resturant is so very cool. It is huge inside too. We had a group of 57 and they put our group upstairs. We kept walking around the stairs and a up and around. I didn't realize just how big the Resturant was. Bathrooms are a bit small but just outside the door to the right is the public restrooms and a they are very clean and nice. I would recommend this to anyone all ages

After spending the day at Universal Studios we were looking forward to a good dinner and ended up at Buca di Beppo on the City Walk. Probably the worst dining decision we made on our entire two week vacation. Turns out they only serve platters of with portions for three or five people. With just my wife and myself we had to decide on an an entrée to share. I wanted pasta, but since she doesn't eat carbs we chose the Chicken Limone. Nothing comes with it, and I mean nothing. A plate arrived with three small chicken breast on it and that was it. We also ordered an appetizer of Fried Calamari. I enjoy good calamari, but this was some of the worst I've ever had. Some of it was so rubbery I couldn't even eat it. There were no prices on the menu and when the bill arrived I was shocked! The Limone Chicken was $35.50 and the terrible calamari was $21.50. Wow. I had ordered calamari a couple of days earlier at a nice upscale restaurant, some of the best I ever had, and it was only $15. With a small $12 glass of wine, including tax and tip this meal cost nearly $90!! I would never go here again. I've been to other Buca di Beppo Restaurants and enjoyed them. Not sure why this one was so bad.

Went to request a table and only had to wait about 5 minutes. Great place with such a friendly staff! The food was great: they do family portions so we definitely had leftovers. Too full for dessert, but would definitely visit again!

For starters, I ordered Yvonnette and myself the “Italian Primo Margarita” prepared with Maker’s Mark bourbon, Aperol, Disaronno, blood orange sour, strawberry purée, Angostura bitters, Hornitos Plata tequila, Disaronno, Cointre. My Brother took the safe route and ordered a non-alcoholic strawberry lemonade. He wanted to order a steak, but because this is an Italian restaurant, he decided on the Pepperoni Pizza made with, mozzarella and provolone cheese and their authentic pizza sauce. He also had the Caesar salad Romaine hearts tossed in blue cheese dressing with roasted garlic croutons, Parmesan cheese topped with chicken I could not make up my mind on what I wanted to eat for lunch, so the waitress suggested the Chicken Carbonara with Chicken breast, crunchy prosciutto, peas and garlic in Alfredo sauce(yum). I wanted to share this with my niece but I forgot that she does not eat pork. Yvonnette chose the Shrimp Scampi, sautéed with garlic, white wine, Italian herbs & lemon butter tossed with spaghetti. We shared a Caesar salad that was enough for 3 people. My second drink was the Sorrento Margarita made with Casamigos Blanco tequila, Bottega Limoncino, orange juice, grenadine and Sierra Mist. Of course, they were not able to sing happy birthday due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but they did bring out the vanilla ice cream, covered in whipped cream and sprinkles.

It was the best buca experience so far. They actually take a photo of you and make the memory last forever. It is free for the collage photo but then you can pay $16 for a framed photo or $11 each for 2 photos framed. The service was absolutely amazing and the serving size was huge! Just get the small serving coz it is good for 2 people. They have yummy carbonara and bread.. Soup is also yummy!

Typical for the chain. Wine is dodgy - they let me try a sip of two $9 Italian wines. One was ok but the other was downright nasty. I had to pay $14 just to get a decent, pleasant-to-drink glass. The portions are enormous so if you're not sharing the bill climbs quickly. But we liked the free photo they gave us of our group, even if it was an effort to sell more. Fried mozzarella was the best dish; tomato soup, ok; baked penne, pretty bland; eggplant parm, ok.

Stopped in for birthday dessert for our daughter-in-law. She ordered the super brownie sunday and it did not disappoint. The waiter said that it was made for 6 people to share but the four of us just devoured it (almost all of it). The crowned the birthday girl, gave her a gaudy red candelabra to blow out the monster candle and sang and Italian version of Happy Birthday. They did a great job. We even got a picture postcard of us celebrating.

Reminds me a bit of Carmine's in NYC. Family style authentic Italian food, how can you ever go wrong with that! No complaints..great food, great service, great atmosphere, full belly!

This is a chain restaurant, so the food is the food. Pasta/Italian dishes in large portions intended for sharing. We had a large group and they were able to accommodate us at a table that seats 12 in a small private room (not much bigger than the table) called the "Pope room." The decor is all Pope-related and unfortunately there is a bust of the Pope in the middle of the large table that does block some lines of sight. There's a lazy susan that would be helpful if everyone at the giant table were sharing dishes, but we weren't, so it just limited the amount of table space in front of each diner. Probably great for some groups, just ok for us. The service was just ok (not a lot of attention to keeping drinks filled, had to ask them to bring us some bread--we were starving). One thing we could have done without was the photographer. Turns out this is a "feature" of several restaurants on the Universal Walk, not just this one (because it happened the next day at Johnny Rocket's), but they have a photographer who approached our group and offered us a "free postcard" if we would pose for him. He gathered us up and then insisted we do "funny" poses (silly face, point at the camera, etc). He then came by with our free postcard (a collage of the 3-4 shots he'd taken) and circulated the other poses which we were invited to purchase for something like $16 a picture. It's a racket and unpleasant. (We learned our lesson and turned the photographer away the next day.)

Decided to give this a go as we planned on being in Universal Citywalk for the evening. My daughter got a coupon for a free pasta dish from signing up online to their email club. Service was very attentive. Restaurant is huge and accommodates large parties if needed. Family style food is served. It was only me and my daughter and we were going to order the pasta entrée (free) and a chicken parmagiana platter. We had drinks which were yummy as well. The waiter informed us that was going to be a lot of food and just to order one. I was kind of embarrassed as we had the coupon -- he told me "don't worry about it! That's awesome. If you're still hungry, you can order something else." We had some yummy warm bread with olive oil and herbs while we enjoyed our cocktails. WE took his advice and only ordered pasta dish (baked ziti) -- we couldn't even finish the platter. The best part was that someone came around and took professional photos of us at the table. While I wasn't interested in buying them (it was raining out pretty bad and I was skeptical of carrying them around), she gave me a free 4x6 collage of the photos she took and even gave me a plastic bag to store it in. I would 100% go back! No regrets! Great service, great photos, great place! Great food!

The menu can be intimidating for first timers and larger groups. The items are designed to feed several people (small 3 large 5). The prices can be intimidating also (Alfredo fettuccini @ $21 looks high but serves 3). I would suggest one person make the decisions for the group. This worked out best for us abd made out easier on the wait staff.

This is our First trip to Universal Studios LA. We went to Universal Citywalk and were looking for some italian Food. We found this one and it was more better than we expected. We ordered Chicken Pizza, Wine and Pasta. It was truely Authentic Pizza and Pasta. The ambience was also good. Staff was good and cheering. We also got the Free of cost Picture of us taken by the Restaurant Photograher. and if you want you can pay and get more pics if you want. Its nice for good memories.

So sorry but for 136$ with no alcohol this was by far the least value meal we had in LA. Stopped by restaurant at 6:30 pm line out the door wait time stated to be 45 minutes. Must be good right? As we had no desire to wait or to eat that early we planned movie and return to restaurant for latest seating . I was told when I asked that we could be seated up until 10:45 pm ,so we went and saw the Bond film and made it back to restaurant by 10:40 argued with maitre d for 10 minutes until young lady saunters to podium that had told me 10:45 to begin with 4 hours earlier. We got a table. Ordered mixed drinks and 2 appetizers . 10 minutes later as entire waitstaff cleaned and mopped and laughed and yelled around us our waiter returned saying that the bar had closed. Wine nor beer were an option with a closed bar at 11 pm in LA. ...WT_!! Appetizers were barely warm salad and bread were good. Pasta with marinara I swear was dumped from chef boy-r-dee can or rather I should say I have had canned spaghetti that was better than this and or main course to feed 2 was a chicken dish with lemon butter caper sauce which was not bad. But just wasn't that good either! Service was rather matter of fact all the food on table at once extremely rushed so requested to go boxes and ate in our hotel room So bar closes no drinks food so so. Serviced rushed near closing time can not figure out why the long line at 645 PM The only high light of this meal was this photo on the wall staring me right in the face -- Classy place for sure

The food is always family sized, delicious, and features a variety of authentic Italian dishes. We have always loved the Chicken breast dish with capers, lemon, and prosciutto. The pizza rivals any great pizza in the city and there are a few salads that even the health conscious would enjoy. Their cheesecake with raspberry sauce and cashews is divine. Mmmmmm.

Buca di Beppo is a comfortable, family style restaurant. And by "family style" I mean servings are big! You need to take this into account or you'll end up ordering three times as much as you intended to eat! I took my family out for an evening at City Walk, and after a while we decided it was time to eat. My teenage son's favorite restaurant is Buca di Beppo, so this time Buca it was. We were immediately sat down at a table with no waiting, even though it was a Friday night. The restaurant is big, with lots of different dining rooms, each one with its own special motif. There's even one known as the Pope Room! In any case, even in a crowded day Buca can serve a multitude of customers. We ordered a "small" salad which was plenty for the three of us, and it was very fresh and tasty. We also ordered a large Supremo Italiano pizza for the three of us and we still had plenty left over to take home. The pizza tasted good but it did look like it had been sitting under the heating lamps a bit too long before we got it. It didn't look fresh right out of the oven... They need to do better than that. Service was adequate, with our server coming by at the right times to check on us, and her demeanor was also friendly and helpful. All in all a good experience. I recommend Buca, just be sure to ask that any pizza you order is brought to your table as soon as it's done baking. No heat lamps! - Cheers!

Delicious food and ambient atmosphere. Has a great old Italian feel to it and great history with all the old photos on the wall. The food was great but we couldn’t eat it all but luckily we got to take it home. Had the bruschetta and carbonara and both were delicious.

The Service: Big Big restaurant, a few floors. Have a pass the kitchen in order to go to upstairs. Looks old or historic? Since it is the floor plan is very unique, you don't see servers walking around a lot. So might take a while to get service. The Food: Always HUGE portion. Perfect to share! The Parking: Private lot as Universal Studio Hollywood (FEE)

Fabulous Italian food served family style I love calamari do I ordered to my disappointment. Each piece was dripping with oil and soggy The spaghetti, cannelloni and penne were delicious

we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Buca di Beppo after leaving the Universal Park. My son works there and the staff went overboard accommodating us. Great meal, drinks and dessert!

I love the food...what more can I say. While others may argue that there are better Italian restaurants out there, I have no issues going to Buca di Beppo. The restaurant satisfies my hunger and more. I love this place!

Family style eats, and plenty of them. Bring your appetite and share, share, share. Italian food done very well.

We visited for Dinner following a day at Universal Studios. Service was excellent and food was very good. Meals are served family style. Small serves 2-3 people and large 4-6 (I believe). We ordered some cheesy garlic bread and two small dishes for the 4 of us and had left overs. Kind of touristy, but nice touch was the little post card they made for us to remember our visit for free. Would visit again in LA or other locations in the US after our experience.

not Italian at all. I didn't like anything. No single but just big plates for more people. The service was good, fast, kind and careful

I went back in March 2014 with my mom and she was very open to going here as I signed up for the email club and got a coupon for a free pasta dish. We went in there planning on ordering the pasta dish and sharing the chicken parm dish but the very nice waiter (I wish I could remember his name) advised us maybe we should just get the pasta, it's a really big dish and then if we want to order more we can. We were very surprised he said that since most restaurants would never want you to just get the free dish and nothing else (well, we got some yummy cocktails in addition to that dish, but still). So our waiter was AWESOME, always refilling our drinks quickly and having fun conversations with us. A professional photographer came by our table and gave us a free 4x6 photo collage of us! That was unexpected and cute! Only thing that annoyed me was we were next to a HUGE table of probably 14/15 year olds, and they were OBNOXIOUS. Must have been a birthday party or graduation or something, and they were SO loud and even making loud fart noises at some point. Their parents were at the table next to them downing glasses of wine and beer and clearly pretending they didn't know them. Obviously their behavior is no fault to the restaurant but maybe they should have put them in a room off to the side or something. Thanks for the great experience! :)

We ordered a cheese pizza and antipasto salad. Pizza was not very good but appeased the kids. Salad was pretty good. Wine was terrible. Bill was outrageous. Like truly so expensive for what you get.

We visited Buca di Beppo between Christmas and New Years. We had reservations for 8. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Our table was a good size for our party. The menu is extensive, set up for "family style" eating. We ordered 7 items for 8 of us, 5 entres and 2 salads (one entre being a large). This was just the right amount. Dinner came in a reasonable amount of time. Service was good. I was a bit disappointed that our server could not tell us anything about the wine were interested in ordering. The price was reasonable for a tourist location in Universal City with good food. My only significant complaint was about parking. We spent almost $300 for dinner but when I asked about validating parking, they said they only validated before 3:30 PM.

For those who loves a quick and simple Italian meal Buca is the place. Being to Orlando and now in LA, it´s pretty decent for the price. Decoration is the same for all the restaurants but very tasteful. If you´re a big party, always go for the larger portion because it will feed everyone. In my case, a family of 2+2, 2 small portions will be enough. We´ve always opted for the chicken parmigiana and a seafood linguine. Always a joy to eat @ Buca... Many varieties and will satisfy everyone´s taste bud for Italian food.

We chose to eat at Buca on our first night in USA and we couldn't have asked for more. The staff were friendly and informative and the food was amazing... We even went back and bought a takeaway pizza a couple of nights later and tracked down a Buca in Vegas... Very enjoyable and reasonable pricing.

I have enjoyed the food here in the past, but ordering online is a nightmare. I placed an order and then realized I should have placed it for the next day. There is no customer service number you can call. You can send an email, but there will be no response whatsoever. I had to call the restaurant, and they didn't answer until 11 am which was 30 minutes before delivery. I spent more than 30 minutes explaining the situation until I finally find out they can't change the order. I had to cancel it, and place a new order. Of course, your money gets to them instantly when you order. A refund takes a week to get back to you. The next day, I did not get my food and the restaurant said they did not have the order. Funny, because my bank had already paid them. After another 30 minutes of talking to several people who all kept repeating the same thing we already had established, i.e.., they did not have my order and my previous order had been cancelled, they finally gave me a number to call at "Corporate." Mind you, this number can't be googled. You had to get all Karen on them to get it. No surprise, no one answered and I had to leave a voicemail message. I could say I am waiting for someone to call me back. But I know they won't. So here I am, no food, and out $67.

We usually dine at the one in Anaheim, but we were closer to Univeral so we dined there. Atmosphere is fun and very friendly. Portions are flintstone size and the drinks are awesome! Very fun place to bring the family!

Went here after Universal Studios. Made a reservation thru Open Table but all that does is put your name on a list when you arrive at the restaurant. It does not actually hold a table for you. We waited awhile and was taken to our seats. Meals are big and made to be shared however no one wanted the same thing. Meals only come with pasta, no bread, no salad, as those are extra charges. Food is ok but even with a coupon it was $150 for 4 plates, 2 kids meals, water, garlic bread and a salad.

good, not great Italian food. we ordered garlic bread, salad, pizza and pasta with meatballs. Great food for families with kids. A little bit pricey, even though the food is family style, but I would recommend

The food is always excellent, great atmosphere at every location! easy to find and friendly staff as always

Have a small group you will like this place cozy and fun to be at. been there a few times and like it .

My daughter, wife and I went here the night before our Universal Park visit and expected an average to good experience. Based on our waiter's recommendation we ordered one starter (Mozarella sticks), a main course (Penne) and a Ceasar salad, fully aware that the amount of food would be more than enough for the three of us. We also ordered a Pepsi for our daughter, a bottle of red wine and "some water". Well, the Pepsi came, the red wine came, but the water did not come, so we asked again for "some water". After two minutes, the waiter reutrned with a large cup of hot water. "No no", we said, "a bottle of still water please." And he returned with a mini bottle of still water and one glass. "OK", we said to each other and smiled, "we can share". After two more minutes, we received our Penne main course, served with garlic bread. No, we hadn't ordered garlic bread. The Ceasar salad was not to be seen, nor the Mozarella sticks appetizers. So another 20 minutes went by. Still no sight of Mozarella sticks nor any Ceasar salad, so we ask the waiter of their whereabouts. Another 10 minutes, and someone places a bowl with Ceasar salad on our table an leaves without a word. Still no sight of the Mozarella stick appetizer. So we ask again after another 10 minutes or so. The history repeats. After more long minutes, some person suddenly comes out from the kitchen, places a portion of mozarella sticks on the table and leaves without a word. This was of course long after we had finished both the Penne and the Ceasar salad, and had no need for Mozarella appetizers. OK, we've had enough food, we have emptied our wine and we ask for the check. Our waiter makes a point out of not charging us for the garlic bread (which we hadn't ordered in the first place). However, we are still charged a full $22 for Mozarella appetizers served as dessert, long after we we were done with our meal. Needless to say, we left zip zero tip and will never go back to this restaurant chain again. It's probably the first time I haven't left a tip in a restaurant, but if I could without making a scene, I actually would have left a negative tip this time. Too bad really, because the food and the wine we were actually served, tasted good.

We had a great thanksgiving dinner with a friend of ours. Well priced and the service was good. We would eat here again particularly for their thanksgiving dinner.

8 people for my granddaughter's 18th birthday. We had a beautiful table set and ready for us on time .. tucked away upstairs in an alcove that made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. The wait staff was INCREDIBLE. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful time together celebrating my beautiful granddaughter.

I've been to other branches of this restaurant and they've been fine. This one was terrible! It took a long time to get served, they kept forgetting things, they were very dismissive and distracted. Interactions with our server were very odd. The food was okay, the drinks were okay (when they eventually arrived.) One member of our party ended up not eating because the service was taking so long. Also, there were a lot of ants.

Buca di Beppo is served family style, which makes it really fun for big groups to share. The atmosphere is just okay, which is why I couldn't give it a higher rating, and the food is pretty typical American-Italian fare.

I have been to 2 Buca Di Beppo Restaurants and have been disappointed both times. The service was average at best and the food is substandard.

We went there on Wednesday night a couple of days ago. It was our friend's birthday and we were looking for a veg friendly place since my husband is a vegetarian. We reach there and were told there was a 25 mins wait. Even though we were really hungry we decided to wait because I really wanted to try the place. We were seated in about 5 mins its self. The interior is quite interesting with lots of pictures. The guy who seated us was friendly and gave a us a little tour of the kitchen area. When we mentioned that it was our friend's birthday, they put a cute birthday sign pointed at our friend. Now about the food. The portions are large and meant to be shared. We ordered the cheese bread and bruchetta for appetisers. Stuffed chicken (which is their speciality) and ravioli as entree. For drinks we had margarita and another cocktail that I forgot the name of. HIT- Bruchettta. Crisp, buttery and with juicy tomatoes . 1 portion is enough for 3-4 ppl . Had 12 pieces. Good- the cheesey bread. Even though the bread was a little too thick for my liking, the melted cheese topping with herbs was quite nice. Quite Good- the stuffed chicken. It comes with 3 large stuffed chicken pieces. Enough for 4 people. We had some and it was good. Really heavy though. Flop- the Ravioli. So first our server brings a penne paasta dish instead of our order. When we told her that we ordered the ravioli. So she says that 'this' dish is cheesy and vegetarian too and then admitted that she took the order wrong. Since I hadnt had ravioli in a really long time and was looking forward to it. We apologized and said we would rather have the ravioli. She took the penne pasta dish back and after 15 mins came with out ravioli which was a disaster. The liquid in marinara was soo watery and almost seperated from the sauce. It looked and tasted soo sad that we didn't want to eat it all. And so after a bite or two we didnt. For 3 of us we paid $117. There was a lot of leftover though. people take the leftovers here since the portions are big but we were just left it because it didnt seem like anything we would eat the next day. A nice touch was the photo that they took of us in the begining and said they would give us a picture for free in a few mins. An hour later and after we ate and paid we asked for the picture on our way out . The person who took out picture said that she was waiting for our server to sing a birthday song for my friend. They didnt and it didnt really bother us. Then after giving a free picture to us and asking if we wanted to buy the rest of them, they asked if we 'wanted' the birthday song for our friend. We were literally almost at the door and we said no, we are good. Thanks though.! Will I go again??? No. However I might still recommend it just dont expect the service to be very good and cross check your order.

The good part is that the place was not noisy when we were there for lunch. It was easy to carry on a quiet conversation. The food was OK, but not stellar. I thought it was expensive for what we got. Being at Universal Studios, this place is a reasonable choice since there isn't a lot of variety there. There are better choices in the immediate area, however.

Towards the end of a long enjoyable day walking and viewing art works we happened on this restaurant on our way back to our hotel. We chose salad and pasta dishes. As warned on the menu, the portions were ridiculously large and defeated us. The food was fine and the service friendly.

This is a great location if you are visiting Universal Studios or City Walk on your vacation. It’s located toward the end of City Walk near the rear parking area. It’s a multi-floor restaurant with a cozy home feel. Love it. The food is as good as other locations I’ve visited and the price is a bit more per portion. However, it beats the burger prices in the park. I would give this location a 5 had it not been for a very pushy photographer who only wanted our money for horribly taken photos.

We had a great experience at the universal city walk Buca Di Beppo on May 18th. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The fettuccine and baked ziti were perfectly cooked and delicious as well as yummy bread. They even had a photographer taking pictures of us and gave us a small picture for free and you can choose to buy more if you'd like. We highly recommend coming here and can't wait to go back!

The menu has lots of choices, the decor is fun, and the service was friendly. The food was okay but not fantastic, and it was really overpriced for what you get. Then the photographer takes your photos and tries to sell you those too. My kids liked it, but I probably wouldn't go again.

We showed up with about fifty teens and were shown up to a large room where food and drinks appeared almost immediately. The staff was welcoming and helpful for the two kiddoes with dietary needs. A great end to the day.

Recently went on Warner Studio tour and looked for a location nearby since we were hungry. We thought family style is a good option so tried it out. Service was great BUT Fettuccini Alfredo sauce was light. No taste. I needed to add cheese to it. There was no oil so obviously jar of some sort. And at $27 for 3/4 pound of pasta not sure what 3 people this would feed. My sons orders Chick parm...3 breasts $33 ...just not a great food experience. I would avoid also because keep in mind you could, as we did, end up with screaming kids which since it's a tourist trap should have been expected.

It’s okay food. It’s okay atmosphere it’s okay service. It’s also good portions and when your hungry you can feed a family for a mostly reasonable fee. You won’t walk out exclaiming, “that was the best ever,” but if you’re looking for straight forward Italian it’s a good place. Not grey, but good. Just remember you will have left overs. Seriously.

As an Italian food lover buca di beppo always has great food options. I visited de San Diego location and while visiting LA decided to have lunch on the universal city walk. The place was very clean, nice and not full (as everything on universal studios is). The food tasty and in great portions & the prices average for good food & service. The decoration is colorful and with lots of portraits and Italian memorabilia on the walls. I recommend the cheese bread as appetizer and the manicotti as main course. Buono appetito!

conveniently located just outside of the car park at Universal, always great quality and large portion sizes that are hat makes Buca special. Service was great and not very busy if you get there early for lunch

Took my Grandson, daughter and a friend after an exhausting day at Universal studios. The service was quick, the food divine and the portions huge! Loved the White Sangria after the hot and long day. Everyone enjoyed the meal, drinks and dessert.

The theme park closed early due to a private event, so we were walking to our hotel and came across this restaurant. It seemed a little weird to be lead through the kitchen to a restaurant area, but the area where we were seated was comfortable. The food arrived quickly and tasted great. Calenoni and garlic bread; all of us opted for soft drinks. The waiter checked on us once and generally all diners in the area where left in peace. A photographer came and took pictures of all the diners at each table. While we had very personal reasons for buying a photo, I find the practice unexpected and a little intrusive.

Walking into this place, you can see lots of photos and memories it has for the family, and special guests who have dined here. You are taken a walk through the kitchen and meet the chef and staff before being seated at your table which I thought was a nice touch. I ordered a small serving of Quattro al Forno ($26.95 - large was $38.95). The price may seem a bit high but these dishes are made for sharing. A small is the equivalent of 3 portions, and a large is 5 portions! My mate made his own pasta dish (chicken penne with creamy garlic pesto sauce) and that was to die for!! The service was quick, attentive and friendly and you also get a complementary photo of your visit. I would love to come back here again, and would highly recommend this place!

my daughter had her 16th bash here and they enjoyed it very much. servers attentive to the group. fun place

This place has been decorated with lots of pictures and photos from Italy's famous places, plus actors and actress. Nice place to dine but pricey.

On vacation from Oregon and I have heard of this place and been looking to try and we where amazed. Buca de Beppo food is amazing and we where all very impressed the great taste and amount great for family style eating. This place is amazing can't wait till they open in Oregon hopefully.............. GREAT taste and GREat value bring the family you won't be disappoint!!!!!!!!

We ate at Buca Di Beppo after a long day at Universal studios and we thought the food was amazing. We had the small size baked ziti which we shared. Daniel our waiter advised us to and we were glad it was so enormous we still couldn't eat it all. I washed it down with a nice glass of sangria. We had some photos taken while we were there by a guy who made the whole experience quiet fun, not realizing that he was not from the restaurant, but we still bought a photo off him and he gave us a postcard size photo collage of the 5 photos he took of us. We certainly would eat there again.

We were recommended this restaurant by the he hosts at a B&B we were staying at up the road. We have never visited this chain before, so thought we would give it a look. We were seated in about 10 minutes after being told by the hostess there would be a 15 minute wait. We were assisted with the menu, the waitress told us about the size of meals to order which was helpful as the portion sizes are huge. The food we were served was good and could not fault it at all. We did not have a desert as we were stuffed. This restaurant caters for families classic Italian style with all dishes designed to be shared! A good for families, couples or groups eating at Citywalk!

Ben was a great server. Very familiar with the menu and helpful. Buca serves big servings, designed for groups of 2 to 3 per a small serving. The lunch menu does provide smaller options of many of the main entrees. I enjoyed the spicy chicken pasta which was flavorful (spicy) and hearty. Don’t expect anything exceptional as the food is average.

We went after a visit to Universal studios and strolling the length of the citywalk. And it was well worth it. Very authentic italian food served in huge portions for two to share - described as 'family style'. Nice beer too! All at a very reasonable price.

Went with friends for a birthday, we shared the smaller portions of spaghetti and meatballs, apple gorgonzola salad, fried mozzarrella. We also received a free colossal brownie sundae with a coupon and used another coupon to save another $20.00. Excellent!

The food is excellent. The portions are generous and very tasty. I had a serious issue with the layout of the restaurant, many tiny rooms, and a very narrow, twisty stairwell. I used the elevator going up, but it was so tiny, I had to walk down, I mean limp, since I had a damaged foot. I have claustrophobia and it was very uncomfortable for me. The good was great.

After sitting at the SaddleRanch Chop house for 20 minutes and not getting any service we left and walked to the end of City Walk to Buca di Beppos. We love Buca's in general but their service at this one was exceptional. Benji, our waiter was awesome and the Buca Bellini's are to die for! It is family friendly and if you only have 2 people order a small portion unless you are really hearty eaters. Their portions are large! Go to Buca's and have some great cocktails and wonderful food. It was worth the walk to the end of city walk.

Food cost and amount of food was good for the price my family did have leftovers the next day, but the quality was not that great for being an Italian Restaurant. This experience was one of the worst I have ever had with customer service. Our waitress didn't talk to my family and I initially for about 15 minutes as we waited to get our drinks ordered while sitting at a booth upstairs. The waitress then showed up with two waters and a tea in her hand and put it on our table, which we never ordered that was the table behind us, no big deal I think so far accidents happen in life. My family and I were there for our 9 year old daughter's birthday and were told by the staff who greeted us upon arrival my daughter would get a happy birthday song by staff with a candle, which is a big deal for a 9 year old so we decided to eat there. Apparently there were three other people around our table that also had birthdays that were all in their late 20's to mid 30's who got a candle and song from staff. The issue was that our waitress never did that for my daughter after several requests even after the other birthday people got their song and candle. It was rough seeing my daughter with tears in her eyes after watching all of the other people getting a birthday song and candle from staff, but not her. I asked our waitress at least three times if they would sing to my daughter, because she is only 9 and I think that is slightly more important than a 30 plus year old getting that attention compared to a child. Our waitress got moody and then said she will get the staff together for a song . After about 15 minutes of sitting there waiting on the bill and hopefully a song from our waitress I asked a very helpful waiter who saw that we had been waiting. That water then got the staff together as well as our waitress and gave my daughter a candle and happy birthday song. Thank you to that waiter you know who you are. I advised the front desk employee about the situation on the way out after paying the bill and she told me to talk to the manger, but I am not going to waste my time what would the manager have done for me to fix the issue. I will never give that place another dollar especially with all of the other restaurants there plenty to choose from in the future. It cost me $51 for a plate for my wife and I to share and my daughters meal, but the customer service from our waitress was horrible, which will prevent me from ever going back again. Enjoy the review from JJ.

Very nice family restaurant, went there for a friends birthday, we made reservations for a table in front of the kitchen, its a total new experience, if you haven't been here, here is a description: Its an Italian food place, the plates are not for one person, they are for sharing, either 2 or 4 people, so the portions are quite large, and believe me, it is super good. We started of with a large Ceasar Salad, for 7 people, and ordered different dishes to share, the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken, with a pesto cream sauce, i excellent, also, we ordered 3 types of pasta, the Baked Zitti, with melting cheese, the Linguine Frutti di Mare, with shrimp, mussels, clams, and a Ravioli al Pomodoro, when we saw the amounts that we ordered, we where thinking of boxes to go, but the food was so great, that we left the plates empty, the flavors, the smells, everything was superb, we had the waiter asking every so often if everything was ok, this I like, because sometimes they bring the food, and you don't see them until 45 minutes later, also, the manager came to our table, asked how everything was, they took pictures of us, an even made a postcard with all the pictures that they took, and they gave it to us for free. Now, if you are in to desserts, and if you have room, you have to try (share of course) the Colossal Brownie Sundae, you got warm brownie, chocolate and vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, caramel, whipped cream and toppings!!!! Need I say more, if you are ever in the Universal Studios park, do not eat in there, go, have lunch at 2:00, and then go back to the park, where you will continue to walk so you can burn down a little bit of those calories. WORTH EVERY PENNY, believe me!!! I can wait to go back. By the way, do not order any appetizer, the portions are very well served on your main dishes!!!!

Not sure what happened to this location. The hostess was rude, the waitress could have cared less. They dont provide menus anymore so you have to scan the bar code on the table. There were no prices on the menu so I had to go to the website to check the menu prices. Ordered fried calamari and it came luke warm. Sent it back and it came luke warm again. The waitress response was it always comes like that. She didn't even apologize. I noticed the prices have increased since last year and the portion size has decreased. We ordered pizza for three people and it wasn't enough. It was good. I had a offer for a free birthday sundae. Someone, not my waitress brought me the sundae. There was no birthday wish, no singing (i didn't actually need that) no candelabra. I saw the manager on they way out and explained what happen. He didn't care either, never asked my name and never apologized for what happen. He just shook his head We live in area and will not be going back to this location. There are other restaurants there that visitors could dine at I would not recommend this one.

It was an ordering system we had never seen before, but it worked for us! Each dish on the menu was able to be ordered in two portion sizes - 3 or 5 people. So, a dish that was $8 per person would cost either $24 or $40. Nothing in between. There were three of us, so we ordered lasagne for three and antipasti salad for three, and there was enough food for us to take some home for lunch the following day. This made it good value, given that the portions are so generous. The beer was super-cheap, but the wine and cocktails were a little on the expensive side. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but we were happy to wander the City Walk until it was ready. Friendly, helpful staff, and good quality food, interesting decor too. I would recommend a visit to this place if you like Italian food.

During our walk through the smallish Universal Walk, we happened on Buca, and stopped in to enquire regarding my wife's dietary (Italian food fanatic) desires, and spoke with the sous chef, Daniel Gutierrez, who took the time to listen to us and explained that he would cook eggplant parm the way the wife likes it... We sat down to have the meal, I ordered baked salmon with veg and a large ale, and my wife got her parm. It not only was prepared to perfection, Daniel came over to chat a bit while we consumed our meals. Daniel is the consummate chef; find out what the customer wants and make it perfect... Too bad he doesn't work at the location back east, we would be there every week... The server, Anna, was skilled in her delivery and other information regarding the restaurant and local things too. You get your money's worth here!

amazing pizza alfredo spagetti breads a little cold umm nice restrooms nice antiques all around the whole reasturant up stairs and down c:

Order small plate for 2 and large for 4 this is the best to advise everyone. It has a lot of Italian dishes and recommend the Seafood pasta and trio seafood starter. It's prices is higher than the standard restaurants but due to the location it worth it.

Stopped in to Buca at CityWalk for an early dinner. Love this place! Great, fun atmosphere for the family. Food and service were both excellent. Highly recommend and will return again.

This is located in city walk decided to try since we were already there wasn't the greatest.. We had to walk a lot of stairs up to our table kinda smell funky... The food taste wasn't all that I order large ceaser salad for 5 people was enough, chicken marinara was ok not all that. I think it was a little over priced and the food wasn't that good.

One of my favorite restaurants at home but this visit just did not do it for me. The food was good but since it was just my son and I we had a hard time ordering since everything is family style and portions except for the kids meals. We had the calamari and we finished the portion by ourselves- not very big for family portion sizes. Then my son ordered the kids pizza so it was difficult for me to order an entree that was too big. I feel like it was my fault and should have ordered differently...maybe ordered a family sized pizza and then split it but I wasn't in the mood for pizza. I ended up ordering a small portion salad enough for 2-3 so I had lots left over. Likely will not return here again when it is just my son and I.

We chose BdB with an Internet search, looking for a family Italian restaurant that would be a good place to celebrate our daughters 14th birthday after spending a day at Universal Studios. We were not disappointed. I loved how we walked through the kitchen to get to our table. Our party of ten were seated immediately with our reservation and ensconced in a cosy table in a round alcove upstairs. The decor provides lots of items for introverts to gaze at while others chat. Food was really great; each of our pasta dishes was perfectly cooked with excellent sauces. Broccoli dish was also cooked to perfection with some crisp. It felt great to have some good vegetables on the table after eating theme park food for the last five days. For dessert we ordered the GIANTS ice cream sundae to share among all...even with ten of us, the dish went around twice for us each to fill our bowls. Just a great place to celebrate a birthday party....so glad we went. Leave time to shop along Citywalk on your way there.

We were a party of 9 We were on the 2 Floor, very charming because the spot was just for us.. You are really in. Italy The food was delicious and very tasty, very good service, you feel the people are happy to work here. Our evening together was a great success We definitely come back soon ..!! Thank you so much Do not hesitate to book in advance

2 of us ate at this restaurant. The prices looked reasonable, but once seated we realised they only serve food in portions ment for 3 or 5 people, and charging it at the rate (times by 3 or 5). Being a vegatarian this forced my husband to eat the same as me and the set up didn't allow for flexablity. What we did eat tasted good and the cocktails were also great. Would possibly return as part of a larger party to make the most of the different foods available. Certainly wouldn't return as a party of 2.

We came here for lunch and was appalled by what appeared to be a hygiene issue. We ordered calamari and there was a long hair in the batter. The way the manager dealt with their situation appeared too relaxed which can hint to the tolerance towards such issues. I have done at other outlets and was overly pleased with quality and service. This one seems to be tailored to one-time diners and don't seem to work hard to have you come again! A tourist trap?!! Maybe... Pizza has nice thin crust but way overpriced.

Fist time having this certain pizza we loved it great service thank you Joseph Thanks again thank u amazing

We came to Buca di Beppo, which is located at the Universal CityWalk, for a Wednesday dinner. The hostess walked us through the restaurant--some tables, the bar, a view of the kitchen. A few minutes after we were seated, our waiter, Wes, came and served us. Throughout the meal, Wes was very nice and friendly, and made for an enjoyable meal. We ordered a cheese pizza, which we thought would at least turn out average. It's sort of hard to mess up a cheese pizza, even if the restaurant is a "casual Italian chain." When the pizza came, it just did not taste right. It was too cheesy, there wasn't enough sauce, and it was too greasy--not just "satisfactory" pizza, but "poor." We ate one small slice and that was it. Our attentive waiter made for an enjoyable meal, but the bad pizza sort of ruined it. We also ordered pasta, which tasted better than the pizza, but not great.

From meals for 2 to family style they have it all. And very tasty, There were 8 of us and we didn't run out of things to eat. Sangria very good. From the garlic cheese bread with a slight twist to the baked zitti, antipasto salad to die for.

Had dinner here after our long day at universal and it did not disappoint. BEWARE serving sizes are small for 2-3 people or large for 4-5 people, meals are meant to be shared. We had an entree and a main to share and couldn't even get halfway through the main! And we are usually big eaters! I would say the small is definitely enough for 3 or even 4 for people who don't eat much or have an entree to start/intending on having dessert. I saw a couple at the couple next to me order the sundae for dessert and I almost died at how big it was, could have used it to feed a while birthday party! Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff, great choice for dinner.

Appetizers and all the different dishes were really good. There were seven of us and two appetizers and two main dishes were enough for everybody, and one brownie with ice cream dessert!! Everything is supposed to be super-sized except the sangria!!! $25 for a small carafe full of ice?? Are the glasses extremely small so we don't "notice" that it's a rip-off??!!

They ask you what you're celebrating as they walk you to your seats. When you can think of none, they suggest "togetherness?". Small entree will feed 2-3 persons and large will feed more. Make sure to read what's included in the entree. I ordered chicken Marsala and it came with just chicken, some mushrooms in a sweet sauce. No other sides like vegetables or potatoes, etc. Kids meal is also big serving. My son ordered spaghetti meatball. Came with lots of noodles and one huge meatball. They have deals if you like what is offered. Asked the server to split checks ahead of time but still brought one check. When asked to split, she was kinda rude. Didn't say bye or thank you as we passed by her. She must've been tired. Calamari appetizer was sweet too but good.

Large establishment. Plenty to choose from on the menu. But I didn't find this to be any different from Olive Garden. No complaints.

After a long day at Universal Studios, we found our way to " Buca Di Beppo " an Italian Restaurant with good dishes and good atmosphere, although it was really very cold inside and we asked them to modify the setting of the AC. The portion they serve is big, so if you order a large salad make sure that you will share with someone or its really hard for one person to eat salad and a main dish. Service is very good and fast.

A delicious experience! Ideal to share with an exceptional flavor and 100% Italian. The portions are very coarse. For the fio I ordered a super rich soup a salad and a pasta 🍝

The Universal CityWalk Bucca location is a sleeper.. A quieter location which is a good thing! An intimate little bar area for you and few friends to commandeer, cheerful single serve, but still large-portioned lunches(at a slightly smaller price) and same larger size(larger priced) "family style" dinners. Locals Note: If you are a Universal City area resident you can get the annual free Globe Partner Pass(mailed to you, so plan ahead) to park for free anytime at CitiWalk & Studios. A $10-20 savings per visit. Your welcome. But if you must go big... you can check out CitiWalk's new valet parking and just pull right up front, baby!$! P.S. Food's not bad, apple walnut salad, meatballs, lasagne are decent and a little vino doesn't hurt...

The food is great and so is the service. The price of the food, however, is extraordinarily expensive at this location. I feel sorry for the tourists visiting your restaurant. If you want good food and not pay $18 for a small caprese salad and $25 for 6 stuffed pasta shells, eat somewhere else.

I always enjoyed Buca di Beppo. My first time trying it was in the Excalibur hotel in Las Vegas. That was an amazing experience. However, for my birthday I visited Universal Studio's on June 3. Since I loved pasta, pizza, etc. and finding out they had a Bucca di Beppo on city walk made my birthday dinner choice easy. When I had arrived the hostess was friendly an advised me of the wait, which I was okay with. Since it was my birthday I had gotten a huge table centerpiece that says celebrating something special so they know to sing for your special day. Once I was seated we ordered, our food was EXCELLENT, like always! However this establishment had basically RUINED my birthday. The actual waiter who was a younger, thin male, with gauges (white ones that day) in his ear was unfriendly, didn't seem to care, never asked for refills, and looked like he tried to avoid us the whole time. After we had finished enjoying the delicious food and payed our check I waited at the table for another 10-15 minutes. The sign is tall and bright so they know to sing for you. After being at the table finish with the food and payed check no one in the next 15 minutes had came over to sing or wish me a happy birthday. Our waiter however kept coming to the table behind us, so it wasn't like he missed the sign at all. After 20 minutes with being done with our food I had left, did not leave a tip because of the service. Although it would've been a nice tip for the waiter since my check was about $250. Overall I felt ignored throughout my dining experience, that he did not care it was my birthday, no one sang even though they had promised it. I felt leaving sad, uncared for, ON MY BIRTHDAY. I will not visit again, and spend my hard earned money elsewhere where they acknowledge their customers.

My wife and I ate here, and I'm torn. The positives. It's a cool atmosphere. The portions are HUGE. They only have two choices, small or large, as they encourage sharing. So you order small portions for a couple, or the large portion if you bring a family. We ordered a small salad, small cheese breadsticks, and a small pizza. The salad was excellent and massive. My wife and I could have ate that along and been our meal. It was huge. The breadsticks were plain, bland, breadsticks with cheese melted on it. Go to the grocery store and buy texas toast if you actually want flavor. These breadsticks were very very blah. Completely unimpressed. The pizza: terrible. I'm not even sure how they call it pizza. It's thinner than thin, has giant pepperoni on it, and a tiny amount of sauce. Again, if you want breadsticks and pizza, go to the grocery store, buy some breadsticks, and buy ANY frozen pizza, and it will be a better meal than this. Maybe the pasta is excellent, I don't know. I didn't see anyone else eating pizza in the restaurant, only pasta. So if you do want to go there, never, EVER order the pizza. It's awful.

If you love Italian, If you love atmosphere, If you love ambiance, If you love a good meal in Los Angeles ... Buca di Beppo is one of my favorites worldwide,

We have been to this chain in several parts of the world. We thought, after a long day, to get a nice family meal. We had to wait for a table, but that was no surprise. Once seated, we got water and waited a bit for the ordering. The service was a bit slow, even considering the busyness of the place. At one point we heard servers arguing with each other and one told another that they sounded "..just like my daughter and should stop now". We ordered spaghetti with Alfredo sauce and broccoli and the chicken limon. My wife did not like the sauce and we asked for a one person sized spaghetti with red sauce. The Alfredo dish was bland, and when we finally got the spaghetti with marinara sauce, it was very mushy and inedible. Way too much money, no customer service. I will not go to this chain again. Do not waste your money here. The location, being near Universal Studios in the City walk, is nice and they can try to rely on the high tourist traffic to give them a supply of ignorant buyers. Do not go here if you don't have to, and you don't have to because there are many restaurants in the area. In addition, they come and take photos of your party and give you a 'complimentary' postcard - which is a tacky 3by5 picture only (not a postcard) - and then try to sell you photos for about $20 each. Bait and switch type tactic...pure tourist trap stuff.

We just had a delicious dinner in this lovely restaurant. Honestly, the food is top class - good quality at a reasonable price. We were at Universal studios for the day and this was the perfect salve to end the day. Our lovely waiter was attentive and smiley. A great experience - I’d highly recommend. P.S Definitely treat yourself to a cocktail. They’re the cherry on top!

Delicious food and good portions. Truly a place worth hitting up if you are doing the Citywalk in Universal Studios Hollywood.

Enjoyed the food. A small portion is enough to feed 3 people. Side note: Do not order a bellini, comes in a suuuuper tiny glass, not enough booze for this chick lol

We were looking forward to a nice Italian meal and wine and what we got was a very poor quality of food and odd service. If you go stick to the very simple basic menu choices. We chose a veal dish which they tried to serve us two minutes after we had been served our salad! When we ate the veal it was tough and rubbery and had obviously not been cooked freshly but kept hot. This is not an expensive restaurant but there is no excuse for this poor standard. The salad was supposed to have olives in it. There were two one for each of us and the dressing was pure vinegar. Broccoli had so much garlic on it that you had no taste of the vegetable. We won't be returning.

Why wife and I came in for dinner on a Tuesday night after catching a movie. We were seated quickly - the welcome host was polite but his face clearly read that he wanted to close up for the night and we were going to delay that. We were taken to a table in a section of the restaurant - the only section that appeared to be open - and it was very noisy with a large birthday group who were finishing up. Our server was polite but it was easy to tell that she hadn't planned on another table that night. We ordered quickly and the food came quite quickly (although the drinks - a glass of wine and a beer) arrived about 8 minutes after the food. The food tasted okay but the warm bread was cold, our broccoli side was cold and undercooked and the eggplant dish was only borderline luke warm in the most part - it was cool in the centre. We were hungry, it was late so we ate it, paid and left. Around us our server was sweeping floors etc and in the background we could hear staff talking about wanting to be done for the day already. We felt like we were being an inconvenience. If you don't want customers at that time in the evening then don't accept them. I can only think that the whole team - from kitchen to servers - had already pretty much clocked out mentally, if not physically. Next time I will take my $60+ elsewhere. We have eaten at other Buca di Beppo's before and had a good experience but this one makes us strongly reconsider spending any more money with the chain in future. Very disappointing.

This is your standard Bucca di Beppo. I was solo so ate at the bar EARLY. I ordered my food and it was there in a SNAP!! The bartender was nice enough. I am sure this appeals to families and large groups because of the portions. I stuck with your basic penne alla vodka. It was good.

Ok....my family really likes every one of the Buca's that we have gone to. Very reliable, dependable, and consistent. We decided to go to this location with a group of six and we planned our trip well. We got some gift cards because when you are going to spend around $200....any bit helps. Service was slow - but it was busy....so we cut our server some slack. We paid the bill using nearly all our cards, but we should have gotten one back with a little left. Instead, our server said we still owed. He lost one of the $25 cards. I counted them twice, and since they were $25, we had a set amount. He insisted that we did NOT give the correct amount...so we used the final card....and our $166 dinner, cost us $200. Right....so....he already got his tip I guess. We will not be going back to this location....ever.

For the good - service was excellent, room for large parties For the mediocre - the food and the bread

If you have never been you need to go hungry and share everything. The portion sizes are designed to be for two people if you order a "small" size and four people if you order a "large". This of course works brilliantly if you all want to eat the same thing! If not, the shame you will feel at the food waste could spoil your experience. Other than that you should enjoy the food and wine......We did.

This Saturday was very busy. Once we were seated the service was fast. The menu is designed so that you share portions with members of your party, making this restaurant feel like family dining. Food was okay.

Great food! Huge family size portions, great to share with a big group! The waitress was not the friendliest but the rest of the staff and service was incredible.

The restaurant set 140 places for us though there were 151 people. When the travel agent brought this to the manager’s attention she got defensive and rather rude. The wait staff was helpful in putting chairs and plates at the end of tables and moving folks closer to make room for the other 11 folks. The travel agent provided the receipt for 151 people and the manager just seemed putout and left. After that it got better, they served us family style and gave us salad, three different entrees and dessert. Honestly not the best Italian food we have had but maybe serving so many was a problem. Because of the mix-up several folks had poor seating so that took away from the experience as well. Think this restaurant is better for smaller groups or families.

to start off the staff was amazing, we got to sit at the chef table/Kitchen Table (you ge to see the action). everyone one of the cooks where very entertaining not a down moment the food was good i got the walnut salad with cranberry. very very good.

Great Italian food. Pizzas are amazing and so is everything in their menu. If you have hearty eaters and large groups this is a very nice place to visit with great food. Service is great too. You will find yourself going back again and again.

Being Italian I normally do not eat Italian food any place but home. Buca di Peppo has changed that. I found their food to be delicious and the experience with my family something we all enjoyed and are looking forward to doing it again...

This was my first time at a Buca di Beppo and I was impressed. The food was so delicious and everyone left satisfied. Bravo!

We stopped in after a warm morning spent at Universal Studios. Super quick and very friendly service. Zero wait time. Thank you Albert - you were great! We'll definitely come back!

An ok experience, but nothing amazing. Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated, even though the venue was half empty, while the waitresses chatted about their weekend activities. The venue was made out to be Italian, and it did look the part, but maybe it took it too far because it came across as dirty and unfriendly. Our waiter was friendly but would only appear every 15 minutes, so took a long time to order our meals and pay the bill. There was a very unfriendly photographer who took our photos - very rude, and even ruder and stuck-up when we declined to pay for the extra prints (as even the free print wasn't a good photo - she obviously didn't major in photography). The saving grace was that the food was quick to arrive, tasted pretty good, and there was lots of it. I wouldn't recommend the venue unless you have a dire craving for good Italian food.

I went there with my family after a day of fun. I have been in multiple Buca di Beppo's in the US but this one was unfortunately not at all what I was used to. The pizza was not done and you still could taste the dough. Unfortunately my kids and family were so hungry so they just ate it. But then the second one came (kids size) and it was the same again but this time I asked them to take it back; which they did. But considering it was not very full I don't understand why they are not able to get a pizza done right? The pasta was just so overdone with garlic that you couldn't taste anything else anymore. I love garlic but this was just to an extreme. The service was good and nothing to complain about that is the reason why I gave it actually 3 starts and not just 2. Now to the hygiene factor. In general it was OK but considering that we arrived very early and there was not a lot going on, I was surprised about the restroom and how badly it looked. PLEASE clean your restroom on a regular basis. This is rule number one for every restaurant and leave a good or a very bad impression with a guest.

We had dinner at the City Walk during all 5 days of our stay for the convenience (staying across the street at the Hilton), and tried most of the restaurants. Buca Di Beppo was clearly the best, and much better than expected from a location inside an attraction like Universal Studios. Portions were very large as everyone notes, and a bit challenging for a party of 3 if you get two small entrees. Both the Lasagna and Chicken Alfredo were delicious though, and well worth the price. Decor, service and atmosphere were all good.

After spending the day at Universal we had planned on going to the Hard Rock for dinner (the boys request) but it was closed for a private event so we wandered around and found this restaurant...feeding 18 and 15 year old boys is costly lol but here we had Chicken Parm, baked ziti with Cesar salad and garlic bread with cheese was our least expensive meal and probably one of the best. They serve family style here so you order to share and the food was sooo goood!! I wish I had known about it when we were in Santa Monica as I see they are located there too.

Sorry..great place for families - but I just did not like the food.. I am sorry to say. Go judge for yourself. I am sorry

What a great time here. A lot of people were on the fence when we chose this spot for Friday night dinner. When in Los Angeles, I, for some reason, love city walk. It reminds me if Times Square in California. Anyway, this place was our choice and it scored big. All adults and some of us finicky eaters. Placed rocked....great stuffed mushrooms. Fantastic pene vodka. Family style worked for us and it should work for all. Price was a little high on cocktails, but food value made up for it. We did see families and the place has a great feel. Go go go

Buca is all over the place, but it's always a good venue for parties, groups, or if you're with kids. They always have coupons, so make sure you look for one online or sign up for offers. Food is good; very consistent regardless of which location you visit.

I've always wanted to try this place and I was not disappointed. The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. The meals are huge ! I would recommend one for 2 people. The pasta was so delicious and it's really reasonably priced. The walls are so beautifully decorated and it's such a great atmosphere. Would suit anyone.

Love this restaurant chain and popped in after our day at Universal Studios to see if we could have an early dinner. The reception area was already busy with people waiting for tables and we had a 20 minute wait until we could be seated. This restaurant is quite big with seating upstairs and downstairs. The menu has a huge selection and we found it hard to choose from the range of Italian food on offer. This restaurant works on family servings where plates are shared by 2 or more people. We are a family of 4, including 2 teens, and decided to share a small plate of canneloni, which really wasn't small at all. We followed this with a huge chocolate fudge brownie sundae which was to die for and we happily rolled out of the restaurant pleasantly full. We will return to this restaurant chain if we ever find ourselves back in the United States.

This was my first visit at this chain and I was not very impressed by the experience. The portions are huge and meant for sharing. The quality however is really bad. Service was ok, but nothing special. I was quite disappointed by the price, it felt way too expansive for what we had. I will not go back to this chain anytime.

Seen some mixed reviews on here but my experience at Buca di Beppo was excellent. Service was great, decor was nice. The spicy chicken rigatoni we ordered was the best pasta I've ever had. A delicious sauce with just the right amount of spice. The garlic bread was lovely as well. As others have said, the concept here is family style dining so portions are large and they do say it's enough for the following day!

Why is it that every time we visit universal we go here? We always walk out saying "why doesn't it taste as good the one back home". Bucca is one of regular spots at home. We love it...never get a bad meal. Here we order the same things and they taste different and just not good! The apple Gorgonzola salad is my FAVORITE but here it's wilted lettuce drowning in salad dressing. The prosciutto stuffed chicken had a funky cheese taste that I couldn't get passed and the brownie in the brownie sundae was so stale!!! Lucky kids don't care but ummm $13.00 you would think it would be fresh!!! It also never fails that we get seated upstairs in a corner and then ignored. This time thankfully the tables around us we're helping us get our waiters attention otherwise I'm pretty sure we'd still be waiting there for our check. Never again.

We met (flew in from Minnesota where the Bucas are AWESOME! ) to meet our daughter, her fiance, and his family to celebrate Sam's 23rd birthday. We felt both rushed and ignored the whole evening by our impatient waiter. The food was good, but his poor customer service (it was obvious that he wanted to turn the table) definitely put a crimp on our evening. She didn't even get a birthday dessert! :(

Visiting with six hungry adolescent boys all preparing to march in the Rose Parade with their high school band, we appreciated the huge portions and variety of dishes. The selection of gluten free options was also a plus for the adults. The boys remarked about the excellence of the lasagne and flavor of the garlic cheese bread. The wait can be considerable, but the staff did a good job of accommodating our large party as quickly as possible.

All of the Buca di Beppos we have eaten at offered good food, reasonable prices, excellent and very friendly service and an overall better than average overall experience. Everything here is designed to make you feel like you are getting an authentic Italian experience, just as you would in Sienna or Venice or Rome, and it does come pretty close, making it always enjoyable. The food is served “family style”, and we were pleased with both our Antipasto Salad and the Chicken Saltimbocca, which I would recommend to anyone considering eating here. There is a nice wine and beer list with a good range of offerings. The deserts, which we did not have, looked great as well. We had eaten here last year when we are in the area, and the restaurant was good enough to attract us for another visit even though it is surrounded by some pretty tough competition. It is a good choice.

Everything about this place is satisfying. The decor is always interesting and food is always tasty. It seems pretty authentic than other Italian places. Proportions are big and there is the bread basket to add on top of that. Servers are friendly and keep our drinks topped off. We had a photographer come by to our group and take our photos. At the end of dinner she came back to give us free collage prints with an option to buy the larger 5x7s in a mat frame. We turned down the large prints because the small collages were good enough. They honored a coupon we received in the mail for 15% off a weekend meal. Be sure to check your mailers for any discounts.

We decided to visit this famous Itallian Resto called Buca de Beppo. At the reception, you could see their Guiness certificate. Not just sure for which or what. I ordered the Shrimp Fra Diablo pasta and was very happy with it. Great service as well. Ciao

narrow stairs to get upstairs (don't know why they don't have an entrance/exit up there). Quaint, lots of things to look at on the walls (keeps the kids occupied), clean, friendly, lots to choose from. Food was good.

This sh*t was as far from italian as you can get. The portions are huge and really low quality ‘food’. Absolutely sickening. Certainly would not recommend it, god bless you if you decide to try. Not to mention super overpriced.

This is one of our favorite places to eat when in LA, the food is family style so each entree feeds 2-3 people so make sure you order accordingly of plan to take plenty of left overs home with you. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the decor is very traditional and quaint. Food is tasty and service prompt

I've been here twice in the last month. The stuffed shells and spegetti with meatballs are so delicious. I wish I could eat here everyday. The service is also really good. Waiters are very attentive.

We no longer have a Buca near us, so decided to eat here on vacation. So delicious! We recommend a chopped salad with all the goodies and the baked pasta dishes with red sauce. We ended up eating our leftovers the next day, which we pretty much never mess with while traveling. Service was OK. They were very busy. And it is really noisy, so not as enjoyable.

The Buca location in Encino is just awesome. The food is superb, and the ambience is such a cool throw- back homage to Italian family and community life. Our server, Joseph, was amazing - he knows everything about the menu, is incredibly professional but warm, friendly and engaging, and even offered us a tour of the restaurant - he's a very proud employee. With great food and people like him, it's no wonder that the Encino location is one of Buca's most popular. Highly recommended!
Family friendly & genuine Italian
Where can you enjoy top--quality, authentic Italian food on Saturday evening with a party of 9 that includes 3 toddlers in various stages of meltdown? Buca di Beppo has it down. They didn't bat an eye at our motley crew. Wise parents ordered cheese garlic bread and house salad - outstandingly fresh - to tame the ravenous youngsters while we perused the family-style menu. Pasta marinara with giant meatball kept the little ones happily smeared in red & was also delicious for adults. A large platter of Eggplant parmesan fed 5 vegetarians handily & was outstanding: crispy, tender, sizzling with tomato and cheese. The only downside was the young, clueless wait person. Nothing is perfect. We had a great dinner & got fine souvenir postcards ($10 each) to remember it by.
