Great for breakfast

By ChrisPaulAnnaMarie |

The atmosphere is relaxed here and the service friendly. Has a very European feel and the breakfast pastries are fresh and delicious. We tend to go here on Saturday mornings after running and it is very pleasant sitting outside. Service can be slow so don't go if you easily get stressed or if you are in a hurry!

Great brunch

By John305 |

Delicious healthy gourmet brunch. $14 bottomless mimosas. French bakery, everything fresh - kid friendly. Go to the door and get a free parking pass before parking and ask for directions to their parking area.

great real French spot

By sandradjanira |

This is the real deal! nice service, great food just like in Paris, i just love it. only problem is trying to find parking but other than that...

Really quaint and genuinely great tasting food!

By Diner645 |

Really happy to have found this quaint bakery, the mushroom quiche was just delicious, and the service excellent! Had the apple tart, made from freshly sliced apples, with a freshly baked crust...yummy!

Delicious!

By MarthaMM |

I had curry chicken and it was the best I have ever had! My partner had the mussels and she loved them. The service was wonderful and the music was beautiful and very French! This was the second time I've been here and again it was great!

Nice place but not as good as we expected

By Leendert J |

We had lunch here on a Saturday. Place was full, very nice space both inside and outside. I had a salade niçoise, a sandwich and a piece of tarte tatin. The food tasted OK, but the niçoise was more of a potato salad than a real niçoise and there was no anchovies in it. Sandwich was nothing special. The tarte tatin was very nice. Service was OK, but overall I felt everything worked out on the pricey side. Especially since they charge an obligatory $10 gratuity when you pay with a creditcard, which I found rather ridiculous.

Great atmosphere! Delicious quiche!

By AlleyW |

Beautiful, large space. Very clean. Prompt, courteous service. I had the quiche, friends had panini and falafel. Perfect quantities and delicious. Tip is included in the bill.

Truly a French Bistro!!

By WildcatRoadie |

Great service, great menu and a very good wine selection. A cozy little spot in the design district that is well worth the trip. Very reasonably priced. Love this place!!

Still good, but some not good changes

By Stephanie P |

Have been coming here ever since it opened. Always vey good food and you feel like you are in a little Paris bistro, Hadn't been in about 6 months or so. I was surprised to see that the wood tables were now covered with ugly cheap looking plastic tablecloths. Ugh. Bread was still great. Food was still good, but not as good as before, and everything was drowned in a pool of oil. Disappointing. Still great service.

Nice surprise for lunch

By BPsmarty |

I had lunch with the menu at 9,99$ and it was a really good surprise :) very fresh and well balanced taste I had the soup of the day + morue + rice : all was nice :)

Best croissants in town!

By Angelika R |

What a great addition to this little neighborhood. This is exactly what was needed, a casual spot where you can hang out with a cappuccino and a croissant and read the paper and not be pressured into ordering a big meal. It's nice to have a good bakery around the corner where you can swing by and pick up a baguette for dinner any other pastry treats.

Good food but not 100% of the timne. A little too $$$ for what it is. But, I do plan on returning.

Great Menu; Very Ordinary Food

By CaliforniaFellow |

This place was highly touted, so I went with my brother and two friends. For a smallish restaurant, the menu was wide-ranging, imaginative, and intriguing. I tried escargot and sweetbreads over mashed potatoes, two items I order rarely. I chose these because my impression of BVB (from looking at the challenges the wide menu made on the chef) was if anyplace could do a sensational job, I was there! The snails were overwhelmed in butter and garlic and the sweetbreads were a tasteless, glutinous clot on top of mashed potatoes like my mother used to make (from a box). I also tried some of my brother's beef bourguignon: sour, unsubtle sauce over dried-out meat. (I suspect they used a cut without enough fat.) The creme caramel was excellent...not too sweet. I would not go back.

Always good

By Kevin S |

We go to here often for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The menu is eclectic but fresh and interesting, brunch is generous, coffee is always good and the pastries are to die for. Sit inside or outside - it's a great neighborhood spot.

A French bakery

By glowtci |

Another great gem in Miami. It is a bakery and deli with a good selection of wine and beer. There is indoor and outdoor seating. A great selection of salads, sandwiches and of course baked goods! Great stop for a quick bite, a coffee, a drink ... a cool neighbourhood restaurant. Lots of funky shops around. Staff are really social and welcoming. Casual dining, very inexpensive, excellent food and service!

Great price maybe?

By Andre_C |

Located in the design district, small lit bistro. Looks like family owned and good service. Two of my choices were available,so got he fish of the day, ok!

Rich French food.

By stefano s |

I love French food and this place was great, first time I went and I loved .. would go without thinking. I recommend the beef, pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes. The ratatouille was excellent. Desserts were apple pie with vanilla ice cream, covered profiteroles with chocolate sauce and chocolate mousse ice cream (it was so rich). Although expensive, the place was very busy. But without doubt the best choice of French food in Miami.

Romantic and affordable no frills spot

By Tina E |

Bring your date or a group of your cultured friends to this quaint diner. The menu is simple French but with an affordable $10 curry chicken that's yummy-good. The wine by the glass and bottle is very reasonable although not a list to brag about for the discerning wine enthusiast. The duck is wonderfully done and the scallop appetizer is very good. On a weekend or Friday evening call for a reservation.

Great Find

By Aguamarinita |

We found this by mistake as the restaurant we intended to go to was closed for lunch for a private function. While the inside restaurant needs to be redone, the outdoor seating is charming. The service was excellent with very helpful, friendly yet professional waiters. The food was really exceptional and an incredible value. The tuna tartare appetizer was perfectly fresh and with complex favors. The lunch special chicken and tomato salad turned out to be a very generous portion of chicken and cooked tomatoes in s rich garlicky sauce over lettuce. We will definitely go back.

Quaint Neighborhood Restaurant

By Kbrabbino |

This restaurant has been here for a very long time, even before this neighborhood became hip. I always considered it as a great bakery and breakfast place but the last time I came by to buy some of their amazing chocolate croissants I noticed that they had a board with a special menu for Friday night dinner. I spoke with the owner and found out that they are open for Dinner every night until 9 PM but on Fridays, they have some specials and they stay open a bit later. The specials were all you can eat Mussels, and steak tartar, and a few other traditional French dishes. I decided to give it a try. I came with my husband and kids and had a very nice dinner outside. The weather was beautiful and the food was good and well priced. The Mussels were $25/person all you can eat, and both my husband and I ordered it and enjoyed it. My daughter ordered the vegetable lasagne and she thought it was too cheesy, and my other daughter ordered the steak which was pretty good. I think that the service was quite slow considering that the restaurant wasn't full. Both my husband and I wanted another round of mussels and had to wait a while again before they arrived, but other than that - it was a decent meal for a good price.

Country French

By MIAMISHEILA |

Country French food served in small dining room or cute little alley hideaway. Lunch orders are like dinner with choices such as veal with mushrooms, snapper, pork loin, etc. mashed potatoes ate creamy and ratatouille was excellent. Pâté or escargots are good appetizer choices. Desserts we shared were apple pie with vanilla Ice cream, profiteroles with ice cream smothered in chocolate sauce and super chocolate mousse. Even though it is expensive for lunch, place was very busy. Good choice for French food.

Best breakfast, outstanding croissants

By mittyc2016 |

We stumbled into the BVD will driving around the design district. Run by a Frenchman and his South American bride, this is an outstanding bakery that serves breakfasts and light meals. After the fact I read a review which stated that the person lived in Paris for 7 years, but found the BVD croissants to be the best ever. I agree.

Surprisingly good food

By Amaryllisum |

I like this place and will return. Three of us dined and at the first bite, all of us exclaimed, "This is very good!" Staff is very friendly and efficient. I ordered the special: corvina with spinach, which I recommend. Not fancy, and if you don't know to stop by and ask the restaurant for a parking permit to a nearby lot, you may be cruising around the block quite a few times before settling on a spot some blocks away. There is indoor and outdoor dining. We sat outdoors (with a cover in case of rain) in a small alley way between two buildings; it was pleasant enough and quiet --the latter being of great importance to us as we like to converse without needing to shout, and that was the atmosphere on a Saturday for a 2:00 lunch . There is one bathroom, which is equipped with HOT and cold running water, which I greatly appreciate. I recommend this restaurant if you don't want fancy and are looking for good food.

Awesome food, less than awesome service

By luckypoodle |

We might have been there on a bad night - although there were few people there - but the service was awful. Even after we pointed out that we were lacking attention....service was still slow. We had to get up and stand at the entrance to get the bill.. Roasted salmon was the most perfectly cooked piece of fish I've ever eaten. It was meltingly tender with a shard of crisp skin that tasted of garlic and basil. Served with ratatouille and dense mashed potatoes. Not fancy but very well done. My friend had corvina with spinach in a sauce that was thick with cream. She raved about it. To their credit, we weren't charged for a massive dessert of profiteroles.

Great restaurant but beware the parking scam

By diner-HLOBS |

Great food and ambiance. You definitely get excellent value for the price and the staff is very nice. BEWARE however the City of Miami parking scam. We parked on 45 th street - not well lighted but we did not feel unsafe. No obvious "no parking signs". After a wonderful meal we return to find no car. You have to search to find the No Parking without residential decal sign. It was not near where we parked and is obscure. We literally had to make several phone calls to multiple numbers to find our car. Clearly Molina Towing ( in a neighborhood no one wants to go to) and City of Miami have a great scam going. 23$ ticket and 118$ to get our towed car. So much for encouraging tourism Miami!

Great place for a lunch

By fmvdb |

Had a great lunch here during a 2 weeks stay in Florida. Great place to have an inside or outside lunch and have a lunch in a more quiet setting than in or near shopping malls or centra. We especially appreciated the possibility to eat outside, it's near a road but it was a quiet road when we were there (on Saturdays). We also enjoyed a (for us) normal lunch with bread instead of the often seen sandwiches and French fries. The taste of the lunch was good, would definitely recommend it to others. Service speed was acceptable for us, not really quick but definitely not too slow.

Delightful

By Hamjenn |

I ordered takeout, friendly atmosphere and seriously heavenly food, fair prices for quality. Ordered five different slices of quiche and croissants. You can sit inside or soutside. Although I was taking out, i will be back to just sit and enjoy a nice meal out. A gem!

Tasty Late Night Meal

By Foodiemia |

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner late on Saturday night. Parking can be a little problematic, but we were able to find a spot just around the corner. Just be careful not to park in the residential areas with Residential Only parking signs. We arrived late after a concert and the kitchen was still in full swing. Had the chicken curry and the skirt steak. Both were perfect bistro fare. Very eclectic menu offering all sorts of different things. Wine list (even by the glass) a little too expensive for my pocketbook. Will definitely return!

Visit in Miami

Very nice French Bistro as we can find in small village in France. The food excellent, we take the Tuna Tartare and the Scallop Carpaccio excellent as the entree to. We very enjoy or evening. Thank you Claude

Buena Vista Deli: Couscous Night

By Annalisad65 |

I have enjoyed breakfasts and lunches several times at the delightful Buena Vista Deli, located just a few short blocks north of the Miami Design District. Last night, a close friend managed to secure reservations for a bunch of us at their monthly COUSCOUS NIGHT. What an experience and pleasure! We were advised to come hungry as the helpings are substantial. For $30, every last Saturday of the month (except during the summer), BVD hosts an authentic Moroccan dinner. The appetizers include: spiced carrot salad, cumin potatoes and matbucha-a cold, cooked salad of peppers/tomatoes/garlic with a tapenade-like consistency. The main course is couscous heaped with tender vegetables, chickpeas, sausage, chicken and lamb that have been simmered in a tagine. The succulent meat is fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor from the vegetables and spices. For spice lovers, request some harissa sauce as well. Note, be sure to contact the restaurant in advance as reservations for COUSCOUS NIGHT sell out quickly! Parking in the surrounding streets is restricted to neighborhood residents. Park instead across from the restaurant on NE 2nd avenue. There is indoor and outdoor seating from which to choose.

Excellent quiche!

Incredibly good food and service, like you are in Paris! Staff was extraordinarily;y helpful. Super relaxed atmosphere.

Our French corner in Miami

By Fernando Z |

A friend took us here three years ago. My favorite latte with warm ham and cheese croissant breakfast called my name. My wife and I used to had these for breakfast in Argentina when we were dating 28 years ago. I couldn't resist. Lovely food. Lovely people. The Owner Corine becomes your friend in minutes. Go there.

Always a favorite!

By Daniela F |

I've been coming here for 10+ years and have never been disappointed. Always great food in a casual cozy atmosphere. I love it for lunch with friends and I love it for romantic weeknight dinners. Do not miss their deli around the corner for breakfast!

The lunch was so good we forgot that it was affordable

By Flamingo33139 |

Buena Vista Bistro has a Lunch Special menu with several $10 selections including a dessert. I had pork medallions with a lentil base. My companion had beef. The ciabatta bread was so good we bought some at the deli next door (same owner). Hurry before it getts too crowded.

Not only dessert

By Alice_the_wonderland |

The best croissants in Miami? The best strawberry pastry ... nice salads and quiches... decent food & great bakery indeed ... at the corner of the high fashion area in the Design District of Miami nice terrace and decoration ... parking is a problem for everyone that drives a car service is in a rush

A Great Meal in a Fun Spot

By ellenLeverett |

Friends who live in Miami Beach knew this place and love it. I will now trust their taste totally-what a great meal! I had tuna tartare, which was perfect, a fabulous salad, we shared a couple of appetizers, and everyone basically purred their way through their food. Funky, low key, charming-I'd go back in a second.

Awesome French Bakery

By Yoko T |

Love LOVE love! So cute is this local bakery and spot. Service is always super friendly and the kind of place where your servers knows exactly what you are going to order before you open your mouth. Yes I am predictable and creature of habits so I always order the same thing. Tabbouleh salad with mesclum salad. Their vinaigrette is something I dream of. So good!!! Pastries are evil. Soooo cute. I try not to walk inside the store as the fruit tarts always start talking to me!!!!

THE BESTTT STRAWBERRY Napoleon!!!!!!!!!!

By jackie g |

A friend picked up some desserts for us a few weeks ago. I just had to go back and get more of the strawberry napoleons . The cream is incredible, pastry and strawberries. The service was great. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I would refer this to all my friends and family. I drove 35 minutes for the pastries and they were well worth it. Amazing

Will definitely eat here again

By Pajeh |

My hubby and I went here last Saturday at the recommendation of a colleague. We made a reservation on Open Table and chose to sit outside in the back of the covered area as the ambience felt groovy with Bob Marley playing in the background. Unfortunately for us there were a group of chains movers sitting about 3 tables away from us which made it slightly unpleasant. We tried to move further down the sofa seat along the wall to minimize this as my hubby did not wish to sit inside. We ordered a glass of Santa Maria Malbec for me and another red for my husband and a foie gras to share. The baguette was quite good and the foie gras was "simplement delicieux". For the entrée my hubby took entrecôte with French fries (NB: these are regular fries not the French version), I took the jumbo scallops with mash potatoes and ratatouille. My hubby enjoyed his steak and after getting over my initial shock of having 3 scallops on my dish and some of the ingredients which make a ratatouille, I ate my meal; it was just okay (need to give this Chef the scallop dish from Season 52 so that he could understand what are jumbo scallops and the size of the serving which is normally 6-8). My hubby commented that his steak was tasty but the sauce they served was not peppercorn as he requested. We decided to share a dessert and ordered the profiteroles. Wow! They were huge and the icecream was more than could fit in the choux (which was probably 2 days or more. It was an evening of highs and lows: High- wines, foie gras, baguette, steak Low- french fries, meal with scallops and ratatouille, profiteroles. Will try again for lunch and compare.

Great Food, Great Location, Horrific Service

By Steve C |

This is the 3rd time I have visited this restaurant.... Great Location in Mid Town, the food is amazing, but the service is border line to say the least. The worst part of it is the added gratuity even for smaller parties. I do believe this is the reason the service suffers - due to the fact that the servers know that they are going to get 20% regardless of whether they smile and say Hello or not. My recommendation - take the food to go or call Uber Eats. As I mentioned the food is amazing....

Excellent food, service, value

By Annette F |

Still without a kitchen we thought we'd try this place for lunch, having been there once before a few years ago. We chose to sit inside for the coolness. Our waiter went out of his way to explain the menu and make sure there was no dairy on my husband's meal, since he has a major allergy. The lunch special - 11.99 for choice of soup or salad, choice of entree and rice pudding - was a good value. I had a salad - huge - portobello risotto - best restaurant risotto I've had - and the rice pudding. My husband has a really good sized steak and loads of French fries. The bread was excellent, very European. An excellent overall experience

This place used to be my favorite, but not anymore

By lou p |

I was getting sandwhiches from there almost everyday because its close to my work place. They now raised the prices, the salads are old/cooked and smell like seaweed, the delivery person showed up with no cash at all to give you your change back, and the best part was the big pieces of burnt food that came in my sandwhich and my co worker's too. Really disappointed, i won't go back...

Great lunch!

By Marion B |

My friend Lara and myself had a great lunch today at Buena Vista Bistro. We ate in the patio, which is always enjoyable when it is not too hot. We both had the lunch menu, which is a bargain. The salad was delicious. A real authentic salad, with green leaves and homemade olive oil dressing. No strange stuff hidden behind loads of industrial dressing. We both had chicken paillard as main, which was gorgeous too, with a mouth melting ratatouille. Regarding wines, they have a fabulous Châteauneuf du Pape (Gardine) at a rificulous price for the quality.

If we lived here, we would eat here every week

By aboudd |

When touring the Wynwood Arts district in Miami we were looking for a place for lunch. Amy found a listing for the Buena Vista Bistro, a neighborhood spot in, of course Buena Vista - a charming neighborhood in its own right. We walked in the door and were immediately seduced by the aromas coming from the kitchen. The bistro is cozy, a little worn, and has a terrific staff and chef. We took advantage of some lunch specials that were an amazingly low priced $10.00. Amy had a curried chicken dish on rice and I had the roasted pork tenderloin on a bed of mash potatoes and topped with sauteed onions. Three large slices of perfectly cooked pork, for $10.00? Amazing. I enjoyed a glass of wine, Cuban coffee and the whole tab was just about $30.00 for the two of us. If you are near this place, don't miss out.

Charming neighborhood restaurant

By bgerber948@gmail.com |

this is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. the food is always good. it is a very charming spot, whether you eat inside or out. the fish, and meat are excellent. the sides and salads never disappoint. the only caveat is when it is busy, the service can be a little erratic..but the waiters are very friendly!!!

Awesome food not so good service

By paola karen m |

I love eating out and trying new places, my boyfriend loves this bakery, I must say great potato salad, the veggie soup yummmeeyy and awesome sandwiches , your croissants are very fresh too and the pear juice is real fresh I wish the service had been as good the food but not so much, we did get the food fairly fast, but our server looked like if we were bothering her. i dont Know if it looked like we werent going to spend $$$ or we looked too young But i was very annoyed. I work on thé hospitality business And service needs to be equally good as thé product. I Will be back and hopefully they change my mind.

Outstanding French pastries, great food, amazing service with a smile

By JoshFlanders |

We just discovered Buena Vista Deli after being here more than a year, and we cannot believe we missed out for so long! The French pastries are the best this side of Paris - and the service is super-friendly. We have gone there 3 times this week alone, for breakfast, lunch and snacks.

$hitty $ervice, decent food, affordable

By bggz7c |

been here 3 times, good place for a cheap panini or quiche, neighborhood is sketchy and there is no parking, twice salad didn't ever come, food was cooled off when we got it, the only thing French about this place are the crappy chairs outside

Lamb chops to die for!

By MiamiCulinaryTours |

Buena Vista Bistro owner is very passionate about his food and it shows. There are only a few places in Miami where you will feel at home and this place has it. The service is great, the food is unpretentious and excellent. I highly recommend you get their lamb chops, they are cooked to perfection. I recommend that you go during the week as you may not find a table if you go on the weekends at the last minute.

Great little bakery

By rilys |

We were in the area around lunch time and found this place through Yelp. Since it was 5 min away and had good reviews, we decided to give it a shot. What a find! Great little place with delicious food - at great prices! My only problem was that I couldn't try everything on the menu.

Little gem in the middle of Miami

By Jenny S |

Me and my partner celebrated a business milestone and landed in this cute place. Food was delicious, price is very reasonable ($7 for half sandwich and salad) and atmosphere is simple and friendly.

A great french Deli in MIAMI

By Nils D |

Yes you can find foie gras "mi cuit" in Miami; this deli is a little out of the way in Buena Vista neighbourghood, but you will find top freshly made foie gras and duck paté . The french owners are also providing wine and locally made chocolates in the shop next door for a perfect match. I cannot judge the service as we took back with us the paté and foie gras (we were provided ice pack to keep everything cool) , we also got chocolates truffles and champagne for a wonderfull start of a festive evening. My only regret : the french baguette was not at par with the rest of the food.

Deceived

By Cheri G |

Beef bourguignon not any more what it used to be!!! went to celebrate with another couple and bought expensive wine ( Margaux $91.00) at Chocolate and Wine (same owner) and had dinner at the Bistro. Unfortunatedly food is not the same anymore. Service was ok. Since we were celebrating a special occasion we did not say anything but to the waiter but apparently when they bought the wine it was too mature and was passed the time to drink it. We did not spoil our celebration but certainly will not return neither the Bistro not the Chocolate and Wine store of the same owners.

Yummmmmy pastry

By Kimmy D |

Authentic pastries, pain au chocolate, croissants & baguettes..... Delicious quiche with fresh artichoke salad, Outside seating and cute little brunches with live music. Perfect place to spend sunday morning.

Excelent food

By SandraCRS |

Perfect french menu. Attentive service and european-like atmostphere. You can almost forget you are in Miami. If you want to eat like a local, go there!

One of my favorites in Miami...

By dawnwtv |

This little gem is tucked a way from the design district but is worth the short drive. The food is ALWAYS great and the waitstaff is friendly and professional...LAMB CHOPS ARE TO DIE FOR!

I love this bistro

By BlueBsAs |

Excellent place for lunch, quiche, salads, pain is, croissants everything is very good and the selection is large. The price is excellent. We went with friends for lunch and they loved it. It's always pack and it's a very local place. The desserts are very good also. On street Parking is not easy, I usually go walking as I'm in midtown , there are a few valet parking options in the area.

A real find for French food... and reasonable, too

By rwoavon |

This restaurant is located in Miami on NE 2nd Ave., just beyond the Design District. It is a really cute bistro with seating indoors and a nice patio area. The staff are very welcoming. The food is excellent. My wife and I have enjoyed the escargot and veal dishes. Friends have raved about their fresh seafood dishes. The preparations and sauces are forst class. The flan and creme brulee are excellent meal finishers. Entree prices are at the lower end of typical Miami restaurants, which is a plus. Lastly, the wait staff don't rush their patrons, which we love. A really good find that we will be returning to agaon and again.

Amazing french bakery

By mbrigido |

This french bakery offers a vast selection of freshly made food and drinks. Most of the workers are french. Very homely place.

Stylish and worthy desserts

By Miamismith305 |

Buena Vista Deli is a well established place in Miami and one of the few spots that offers the environment of a French Cafe. The food isn’t unforgettable, the desserts are worthy, it’s generally full and it is a bit hot but the total experience makes Buena Vista Deli a stylish and special place. Even though they do not promote it, they have passes for parking because sometimes, parking your car there can be challenging.

French Bakery

By LeisureLena |

If you are in no rush, then i recommend this bakery. Their pastries are honestly the main reason I visit the restaurant. But their service is a bit too slow for my taste. Poor hospitality. Cheap bottomless mimosas on weekends.

France meets Design District

By asora10066 |

Stopped in for lunch after some window shopping in the Design District. This bistro is cozy, charming and the food is fabulous! The price for lunch can't be beat at under $12.00. I order the chicken breast on a bed of mashed potatoes, accompanied by ratatouille. We wanted something extra and shared a side of delicious homemade fries that generously portioned. To top it off we shared an apple tarte with homemade vanilla ice cream. The service was wonderful, our waiter was amazing and enthusiastically described the menu and answered all of our questions. Can't wait to go back!

Ooooo La La...

By Orion S |

So So So Good!!! Best French Food I have Had In A Looooong Time!!! Definitely go for lunch and i suggest you get the combo. You get a beyond delicious salad and a half sandwich for practically nothing. (any one of their salads or sandwiches!!!) (insane) Staff and Food are Tres Bien!!! Definitely a must in Miami.

Great lunch spot!

By JaggMagg |

Their soups of the day, salads and sandwiches are great! My colleagues and I normally order from here. Sometimes they run out of soup because it's so good, but everything I've had from here has been fantastic.

If you wanna get a peek pf the mismo vibe, go to Buena Vista Deli. The food is devine, they have a hugeeee menu, and the service is cool. Their coffee is also great, as well as their pastry selection. I love to go for breakfast or brunch. But it's also a cool place for little creative meetings :)

Excellent breakfast!

By Oscar_F9255 |

Neighborhood hang out, great coffee and croissants! Must try their vegetarian lasagna! Pet friendly, very reasonable!

Great little place

By denitrip |

We went in for a quick dessert and left with boxes full of all kinds of delicious looking desserts which were outrageously good! This bakery/bistro is a great find. They have sandwiches and they also offer different items on the menu that we cannot wait to return and try out.

Delicious, High-Quality, and Good Value

By Seth H |

I haven't written a review on here in a very long time. Not really my thing in most cases, but I feel strongly about this one. I live in an adjacent neighborhood in the same ZIP code, and this establishment has been an offering on my food delivery apps. I'm a big fan of bouef bourguinon (beef burgundy). The one from BVD was delicious. This week I tried the roasted chicken with mushroom sauce accompanied by gratin dauphinois. Superb! You can tell this restaurant cares about what they offer and ensure it's of a very high quality. Additionally, the prices are reasonable and in line with the quality. Can't say that about many places in this area of Miami. I haven't been there physically yet, but the pictures that are online make it seem quite nice. Definitely worth a try!

authentic French croissants

By Victor M |

Really good bakery, nice for breakfast . The Design District deserves place than this! The place is not fancy at all but the quality and the service are superior.

Great little deli!!!

By honeycutt33 |

I loved this place. Everyone that works there is just so friendly! The food is absolutely amazing. When you walk in you won't even believe the wonderful aromas of all the fresh breads. We went there three times. Breakfast I must say was wonderful. The coffee is excellent ! We did breakfast twice. Lunch was just as great. Will definitely be back.

More like a French bistro than a deli

By Taylor B |

No wonder that Buena Vista Deli is widely acclaimed to be the best deli in Miami, Florida. In fact, it is more like a French bistro than a deli, a French eatery with patio seating that is well known for its Quiche Lorraine, home-made pastries, artisan crafted breads and artisanal deli goods. Located at 4590 Northeast 2nd Avenue, off Bay Point Road, west of Bay Point, it is open from 7 to 7 daily. While breakfast may be the main attraction, Buena Vista's lunchtime sandwiches such as tuna salad croissant and chicken brie with chicken breast, brie cheese, mayo, romaine lettuce and tomato and main dinner courses such as spaghetti bolognaise, roasted chicken mussels, chicken curry, eight-ounce steak tartare and 12-ounce hanger steak draw hungry customers on a daily basis. So does the bakery, which offers croissants, chocolate croissants, apple turnovers, bagels, quiches, chocolate almond croissants and raisin bread. For breakfast, how about Benedict eggs with bacon or Benedict eggs with salmon? With bagels and cream cheese? And how about those pastries? Chocolate eclairs, creme brulee, chocolate mousse, raspberry tart, lemon tart, mixed fruit tart, key lime pie or tiramisu? My wife loved the fresh brewed coffee, too. Why did it take me so many years to realize that a tasty breakfast was a great way to start a busy day?

French flavour in Miami

By lgrn261 |

You could easily miss this restaurant located on a dark stretch of 2nd Avenue but it would be a shame. You would miss a memorable dining experience of seafood with a strong French accent. We had fresh grouper with a creamy sauce and seafood with ratatouille, both excellent. Crepes are prepared to order. The espresso was disappointing but in all fairness, I never had a good espresso outside Napoli, Italy. The service was excellent, attentive and discrete. Parking is difficult due to the local restrictions limiting parking to residents only.

Wonderfull Dinner Experience

By diBiella51 |

Simply delicious! After two months of dining out in Miami and Miami Beach we were delighted with the dishes ordered and the very good service we received from the wait staff. After a full day with friends BVB was suggested as a place for dinner. From the first taste of the country pate and the truly delicious grouper I was very impressed with the preparation and flavors. I requested the ratatouille instead of mashed to accompany the fish. Sooo good and a wonderful accompaniment to the simple sauce of the fish. Great French bistro options. Note: the owner has a couple of more businesses along this street. They are a cafe and a chocolatier/wine store each within steps of each other. In reading the reviews I think that some are actually for the cafe. We so enjoyed the baguette at dinner that we stopped at the cafe to purchase one for our breakfast today. BVB was hands down the best food I've had since we arrived 12/14. We'll be back.

Paris it is!

By Mara F |

The food here is terrific. The atmosphere is that of a Paris bistro. Since I love Paris I enjoy Buena Vista Bistro. The staff is friendly. It is a hopping place during busy hours so make a reservation for the window table and enjoy the food, ambience, wine and watching people!

Real Food in Miami Design District

By MARA J |

It's a lovely experience to have real french food in this town. All above, everything is fresh, saladas are exquisite, so is fish and meat. Great experience at a very low price. They have two rooms, one with AC and a terrace for smokers. 100% recommendable!

Buena vista deli

By jps819 |

Glad we found this place on our last day in Miami instead of the 1st because I would have gained a lot more weight. This was like eating a meal in Paris for a quarter of the price and twice the size. A real find in what appeared to be an area near little Haiti. French was spoken by many of the locals. Wish we had a place like this in Chicago. I had a rillett sandwich for breakfast with a cafe latte. Oh my god!! We might have to leave the Keys a little early to drive out of our way on our flight out of Miami.

Aunthentic French Food

The Quiches are the best!! Everything was delicious. Nice area to seat outside or to take out. Highly recommend.

Highlight of Miami Visit

By Blugold |

Loved this little bakery / cafe - what an absolute delight!! Was there w/ four generations of our family - and everything was delicious! Service was warm and neighborly. If I lived in Miami, you'd see me there often. The lasagna, the quiche, the dessert - was all just to die for! The waitress even asked for, and got permission, to hug Gramma!

Best breakfast and pastries !

Amazing place! In from NY and thought we’d try this cute place. Ended up back every morning for breakfast!! Everything was delicious… and the coffee was great.

Ordinary Pastry and Cappuccino

By Alamills |

We stopped by BVD for a Croissant Donut, Apple Turnover and cappuccinos. We’d heard they were great. Sad to say that they were nothing special. Not bad mind you but they weren’t up there where we had been led to believe. The pastries would have been much better if they had served them at least warmed up. Service however was very good - friendly and prompt.

Can't Beat the Chicken Curry Here!

By Paula S |

This bistro has scrumptious food, whatever you order won't be a disappointment. I had the Chicken Curry and I keep going back just to order that! Travel next door and get your homemade chocolates supervised by a Frenchmen. Local cozy restaurant with a sophisticated bohemian atmosphere and quality food.

Fantastic Deli/Bakery

By Tim Q |

Best pastries in Miami - outstanding croissants. Amandines with berries and fruit tarts to die for. We found this little gem on our hunt for great pastries one morning in December and went back very single day of our vacation in Miami. Even our 14 month old had one croissant every morning :-). We are already looking forward to our next trip to Miami and having breakfast at BVD. Highly recommendable.

Great outside dining and good food!

By PurosLoverUSA |

I hqve been going there for years! The staff is young but OK, the food quality is consistent and good, its real French food made by qualified French owners! It is very well priced and this is also why we go there often! We eat only outside as the biggest improvement they could (should!) do is the frying/grilled odor we often smell inside the main dining room we crosd to access the restroom. They should fix or upgrade the exhaust/vents!!! Otherwise, outside, its great for an everyday good lunch. outside! Cory and Claude the owners are sometimes present and provide a warm welcome.

According to a friend from Brussels, these were as good as the real thing! Very good menu, excellent, friendly service and atmosphere! Just be aware that there are parking restrictions int he area which are fully enforced, so valet park, super inexpensive to do so. Outdoor seating available!

A Little Bit of Paris in Miami

By River55land |

This was my second visit to Buena Vista Bistro. The first occasion was with a tour group doing a taste of Miami led by the chef Michelle Bernstein. A bus load of diners took over the open air portion of the bistro and we were served and excellent meal quickly and efficiently. I was impressed they gave us a sit down dinner for 40 with another tour bus coming in after us and yet the food was warm and the service handled very well. This past visit was on my way to O Cinema in Wynwood. Some friends accepted my recommendation of Buena Vista Bistro. We arrived around 5:15 pm (our movie was at 7 pm) and we were the first customers. I suspect this is a late night place for the Design District and Buena Vista Flats. Our service was first rate and the meal was very special. My friends ordered tuna and salmon and I ordered yellow tail snapper. All were done to perfection. Each of us ordered spinach with our dish and I have to say this was plainly done and probably the best spinach I've eaten. It was obviously fresh and not covered up in cheeses and bread crumbs, nor was it creamed (so typical in South Florida). A major surprise was the ratatouille. I've had this in restaurants in the past and it has been too tomato based and too over cooked. Instead of tomato base, this had fresh diced tomatoes and the vegetables were perfectly done. I'll eat this every time I go back! French Chef Claude Postel has a real gem here. The prices are very reasonable, the food outstanding, the service is excellent. Our only problem was finding a parking place but we ended up in front of the restaurant. Parking is limited in this area. I suspect the restaurant valet parks for customers later in the evening.

nice place

By mathilde0989 |

this is a nice place to go for a chill lunch on the weekend. Sandwich are good, service is a little long

A Gem

By Vicki000 |

We dined here a few nights ago with our cousins who live on Miami Beach. They have eaten here several times and highly recommended it. What a find! A small french restaurant, casual yet the food was top notch in every way. I ordered the lobster stew and probably could have licked the bowl clean. Dessert came from their adjacent bakery and was equally outstanding. The service was fabulous without being overbearing. No need to dress, there were people in slacks and people in shorts. Tiny interior so unless you go early it could get crowded fast. It's located near the Design District so not close to touristy areas. If you are looking for delicous french food served in an unpretentious way, this is the place for you. Prices were very reasonable.

Love at first sight

This was our first visit and we will be definitely coming back. We went in for breakfast, food and coffee were delicious. We had to take some of the pastries home to try. Overall it was awesome.

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM!! Best soup I have ever had!!!! EVER! and yes I mean that - EVER!

By Chewed P |

I was tired and hungry tonight after a long, long day, and when my husband suggested it because it was sort of on the way home, I said sure, not really caring what I ate as long as it was food. Well, apart from marrying me, that was one of the best decisions he has ever made. The service was wonderful - they were so welcoming - and as a vegetarian, I looked for something non-meat and settled on the chick pea soup, although deep down I think I was thinking "really, how good can chick pea soup be?". When my piping hot bowl of soup arrived less than 5 minutes later, I have to eat my words (well, thoughts). I don't remember EVER having such a delicious bowl of soup. It was creamy but not thick (and later on I found out it had no cream in it at all), full of flavor, a few whole chick peas in it to give it a bit of something to chew on - but I was so taken aback at the absolutely superb flavor I could not believe it. It was SO outstanding I actually asked our server if I could tell the chef personally what fantastic soup that was, and she took me to the kitchen so I could shake his hand. Anyone who can make a vegetarian soup that tastes like that is someone whose hand I want to shake, and someone I want to thank. It was a culinary masterpiece. What a nice, unassuming and humble chef he was too - a real treasure - just wonderful. My husband had a pork sandwich (Miss Piggy), which he liked, but I don't think it was nearly as good as my soup - but I didn't taste his so I couldn't compare it. I cannot WAIT to go back and try the actual bistro part (we were sitting in the sidewalk cafe area on the road, not in the bistro) - what a discovery. Just excellent. And such nice people too - a real gem of a place.

Fantastique!

By sandra.m.gordon |

After 5 years in Miami I can honestly say that there are very few restaurants here that serve consistently great food. This is one of them. Excellent French specialities at the Buena Vista Bistro and try the baked goods at the Buena Bistro Deli next door. The other night the Bouillabaisse was huge, delicious and packed with seafood, a dish worthy of any restaurant in the South of France. My Steak Tartare (yes, raw beef) with homemade fries was perfection and took me back to my expat childhood in Brussels. The cold, crisp bottle of rosé was the perfect wine for a warm summer night. If you like good food and appreciate friendly service, this place is a must! Mes compliments!

What a European Treat where you least expect it!

By Herisa |

We always look for little hole in the wall restaurants where we usually find great culinary talents and menu items that are different than the cookie cutter big chain restaurants, and Buena Vista Bistro was just that! YOu could just taste that the Chef cooks with the finest and freshest ingredients. All the menu items looked delicious making it hard to choose. (which to me is always a positive!) The wine list has a nice selection, and prices are reasonable, also the menu prices are quite reasonable. Only because there is so many restaurants to explore and so little time, we might not be back - but we will definitely recommend it to our friends & family visiting south florida!

Breakfast !

I love this place, I'm there almost everyday for the breakfast or the lunch. I really like the soup of the day, always good, the large choice of sandwich. The only think I regret it's the salad are not more healthy. Definitely I recommend this great spot

GREAT LITTLE NEIGHBORHOOD PLACE

By tczig |

This is a fantastic cafe! It's really a bakery, but they serve a wide variety of food (besides tons of homemade, delicious desserts). The cafe's quant, low-key charm keeps people coming back again and again. You can sit inside, or outside. It's a very casual, friendly atmosphere. There is free wi-fi and they serve wine. The food is very good. They have a fresh, homemade soup each day (I have tried several -- all good), and a lot of sandwichs and other menu items. They have everything from hot paninis to cold sandwiches on crossaints. They also serve a couple of different quiches and a FANTASTIC Spanish omelette (bursting with flavor). They have coffee, baskets of bread, fresh fruit and salads -- plenty on the menu to choose from. I'm a vegetarian and never have a problem eating here. The 2 guys who own the deli are very nice and are always walking around talking to the customers. The servers are super-friendly and a pleasure to be around! The prices are very reasonable - even on the low side. Compared to other places, I find the desserts to be very inexpensive. Try this local neighborhood place. If you don't want a meal, go in for a fresh loaf of bread or a great dessert. You won't be sorry!

Really Good Restaurant

By waxlady |

I usually go to Buena Vista Bistro for their Bread, which by the way is Awesome, the Ciabatta and Multi Grain is the best in Miami. I'm used to Sullivan Bakery in NYC so thats who I'm comparing the great too. The Almond Croissants are to die for, split it with someone it's really supper rich but great. I've had their Quiche just recently and that was also great. Service sitting outside can be slow, but that's not atypical of Miami Restaurants. They offer lots of choices for Breakfast and Lunch, so if your in that area you should definitely go enjoy the best french pastries in Miami.

I love Paris in Miami

By Nadia G |

I was just hungry and one of my favorite restaurants "The District" which is next door has closed. So, my cousin and I decided to give the Buena Vista Deli a try. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food and friendly "French" service. I love Paris, French food and French people so I felt right at home. It is small with few tables, but the food is very good and for you guys, the portions are large.

Deliciously prepared foods in low key charm.

By TNTNYC |

Perfectly prepared and fresh beyond fish and vegetables... Cod meunière , tuna au poivre with ratatouille and mashed potatoes . Tha cod was flaky and au poivre sauce divine and what's more pleasurable than perfect mashed potatoes.Tasty and terrific , but SLOW!

Who doesn't love this place?

By FrancescaMusica |

Well aside from a huge menu, their coffee is delicious and everything I have tried (breakfast, brunch or lunch) is exquisite! Service is good, location is cute, you can dine indoors or outdoors. Their bakery selection is yummy and if you're in midtown/design district area, you need to stop by.

Loved it, ate breakfast here, got deserts and coffee! Ate here 3 times and it was so good!! The quiche is unreal good! The service is friendly and the vibe is so relaxing! I would reccomend try this awesome place out!

Nice food, good value

By Oscar_F9255 |

A small street cafe located in the Design District, with a great menu of french-inspired culinary creations; simple yet fun, has also outdoor tables on the somewhat grungy sidewalk. Great deserts and service!

Love this place !

By Matthew B |

I've been meaning to write a review about this place for ages. They have a truly impressive selection of pastries ! The croissants and pain-au-chocolat easily match anything I've ever had in France (not surprising, the owner is from just outside Paris) and a fruit salad that makes you feel less guilty about scarfing down all those carbs. I often have their quiche and salad combo for lunch -- quite a few choices for both – and it's always fresh and delicous. (affordable and filling into the bargain!) Kudos to the staff – service is not just professional and courteous, they actually make you feel at home! Special mention to Victoria who has amazing intuitions about what your perfect lunch might be, all served will a dazzling, genuine smile.

Breakfast and dinner in one day!

By Toni B |

The story of our experience is one of a kind....we had just gotten into town and still had our luggage with us. As we were glancing at the menu, Mike said we have a great little spot for you and luggage. The music was fantastic, and the french toast was some of the best I have ever had! Mike did a wonderful job, and it was a great way to start our stay in Miami! He joked with us about staying open until 12 a.m. and to come back for dinner. When we got locked out of our place, with no where to go for a couple of hours, we ended up right back at Buena Vista! Dinner was outstanding...each bite was perfectly seasoned, savory and delicious ( grilled octopus and escargot were the favs). The guys were very sweet and stayed with us after the restaurant closed until our driver came to pick us up and get us in our place. To me this is beyond great service, and it's nice to see there are kind people out there still. Nothing tops a phenomenal culinary experience and exceptional customer service in one visit, and we are sincerely grateful!

revisited an old favorite that has evolved well

By VJMV |

revisited Buena Vista Deli and was so happy that it still proposes excellent affordable French fare and has lost none of its charm. I was also very pleased to see that since the change of ownership, BVD has evolved with more sophisticated pastries (but not pretentiously so and still great value), a good selection of take-out dishes including Vietnamese dishes and I cannot wait to try the couscous on the last Saturday of this month. How could I have missed that? So glad to be back at BVD. Love the place and love this quieter corner of the Design District.

So French! So tres bien!!

I had just returned from Paris,& took my layover in Miami to visit my brother. Knowing how hard it was for me to leave Paris,he said "I've got a place you're gonna love!" He was so right!! Paris was great,as always, but so cold! This place brought the best of both! We sat outside on a beautiful 84* day,had great baguette bread,& the salad & sandwich special. No little plain lettuce & tomato, with 1/2 a sandwich! No... A nice nicoise, quite a good size,& a FULL sandwich.Had the ham & gruyere with Dijon. Price was ridiculously inexpensive ( especially having just returned from Paris!).. Service was great. My new bistro away from Paris! Great find!!!

Nice place for brunch

By Annette F |

We met friends for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. They have eaten here more frequently than we; my husband and I are not really deli people. But we were up to trying. Inside seemed a bit too crowded, bright, no so much ambiance. The "porch" outside and was much more comfortable. A waitress quickly got us a table for 4. My husband enjoyed his beef stew (daube), our friends had salads, I had the nicoise salad. It was different than any I'd ever had - the ingredients were the same, but served as a tossed salad. Service was really attentive and good, water and coffee refilled, nice and helpful waitress. An enjoyable brunch all around!

New location, same (better) great food!

By Kevin S |

We've been going to BVD for years - generally it's a brunch spot for us. Recently they moved to Midtown and a larger location they are sharing with Eat Greek Miami - it's a funky arrangement (you end up juggling a lot of menus) but the food has been great and its nice now to have the option of dinner as well. The owner tells us the menu will be expanding (especially for dinner) in July 2019 and we are looking forward to that. Key points - great, fresh food, good portions, good service, full bar, great pastries fresh every day. Recommended.

French perfection

It's an unpretentious place off the beaten path of Miami / South Beach. Walk in and casually sit down to a nice home cooked breakfast and capaccino. Really enjoyed their fresh baked goods!

Delightful French cafe in Buena Vista

By Georgemia |

Have eaten here several times, and always pleasantly surprised by the consistently good food, helpful staff, and pleasant ambiance. Yesterday had a crab quiche which was memorably good. Two had a great lunch in pleasant suroundings for $30. Quite a good deal.

nice neighborhood trendy place

By Mara F |

Tasty food with a french flare. The best french fries in all of Miami. Nice wine selection. I love the Salmon and the crab cakes with endive salad. When they first opened the menu was a little more interesting and the food a little better but...for a neighborhood gem it works!

very good food very low prices

By Bruce M |

We met a friend for lunch who comes here frequently. It is a french bakery/deli connected by ownership to Buena Vista Bistro a few doors down (where we have eaten before and enjoyed.) There are sandwiches, soups, salads and panini and they can be had in a variety of price point combinations. I had the salad nicoise which was served in a bowl with enough food for a family of four and a 1/2 sandwich (which was also awfully large to be called a half of anything), Mom and Amelia had plain salads and soup and my wife also had a quiche as did our friend who ordered the one with goat cheese and mushrooms which was spectacular. Everything else was very good except that the "lemon tart" which my wife ordered was really a tart base with mounds of elaborate meringue and a hint of lemon curd you could find if you looked carefully. (I told her to order a berry tart , of which there were three varieties; but NO!)

Tiny Bistro, EXCELLENT Food and Service

By CharlesA |

Small dining spot just north of Design District. Staff was excellent. Table enjoyed lobster special, scallops, and beef bourguignon for mains, salads and soup to start, and the highlight was both the creme brulee and fresh apple pie as desserts. Glad we had reservations because every table was occupied at 7:30PM on a Monday night. Will return.

Food worth remembering.

By Patricia E |

Saw review on Check Please. Everyhing was very very good. I was with two great cooks. The country pate, the fish soup, the lamb chops and the salmon all wonderfu. Our waiter Patrick was excellent. I have many allergies and problems eating out so it was so nice to have no reminders of the experience other than pleasant memories which would bring me back.. My oh so enjoyable rice pudding which Patrick had warmed and the most exc ellent apple pie. We were so full and did not plan to order dessert, but nothing was left of our desserts. They were very accomodating and respected my allergies. Food well seasoned. The ratatouille super tasty. One really disappointing aspect: The French Fries- soft, wimpy, not hot! So would not order those again. Yes, the place is a bit worn, but clean. And it is so nice to enjoy such a clean, fresh well seasoned meal in a non stressful atmosphere. And yes, the table are a bit worn and the waiters outfuts were not as spiffy as I would like, but the restaurant was clean and for sure the food was! Hope to find as good a meal in Paris in 10 days. Have not been as lucky on my 4 previous trips. Well done. Patricia Edwards

Délicieux!

We stumbled upon this little restaurant on our way to another and I have to say the stars where on our side on this one. I had the best curry chicken and ratatouille ever and I will definitely come back for more.

A sweet delicious jewel in the design district

By CONCIERGE_NAVIGATOR |

I do like fine dining and upscale restaurants but I was won over by the charm and unpretentious atmosphere of the Buena Vista Deli, located on the edge of design district, everything is fresh and lovely. Very nice staff with wonderful sandwiches, soups, and pastries that make your mouth water. You must visit the chocolate store as well, homemade chocolates fit for royalty, actually some of the recipes come from a royal kitchen.

Hostile atmosphere and over-rated food. There's better out there.

By Miami Girl |

This restaurant is an utter mess. It's combined with a Greek restaurant, where the two are clearly in competition. When you walk in, you are bombarded by waiters from both trying to get you to take their menu. If you choose to order from each place, you have two different waiters and two different tabs with food coming at different times. If you then choose that you want to drink alcohol, you will have to pay a 3rd ridiculously priced tab. The waiters are not helpful, as they all seem to be new. The atmosphere is hostile and strange, the food is really not worth the experience, and the bar serves cheap liquor disguised in top-shelf bottles. Save your time and money - you'd be better off eating anywhere else in this neighborhood.

Greaat place

By ChrisPaulAnnaMarie |

we have just moved to Miami and after unpacking boxes for a week decided to try a local restaurant. We had heard good things about Buena Vista and we were not disappointed. The service is very friendly and efficient and nobody takes themselves too seriously. We both had spicy dishes and the lobster bisque. Everything was excellent. It has a nice laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed it very much

Everything is with amazing flavor

By lizama1970 |

We orders differents appetizers and all ones was awesome flavors. The fish of the day is my main plate Swordfish just look the other plates Porcini Risotto, Lamb Chops.

Service keeps getting worse

By Alex M |

I’ve been a long time customer at BVD and while the food is great, their service continues to disappoint. The wait times to order and get food are abysmal and the orders are often incorrect. Please fix this!

Poor quality all around

By JacquelineV |

Went for Sunday breakfast as I was rated one of the best in the Design District in Miami. It was everything opposite... service was slow and inattentive, food and beverage quality was less than diner quality and the place is dirty... all the condiments on our table had gunk on them and this was a reflection of the cleanliness in the rest of the bistro. It's important to note that there is a Buena Vista Bakery in the corner, which is separate from this Bistro. I cannot comment on the Bakery, but we went in there first thinking that it was where I reservation was, the place was buzzing and the hostess was attentive. It could be different there but I definitely would discourage anyone from going to the Bistro side.

Good food, not so good service

By ALG2007Curitiba |

Went there with the whole family, 13 people. They reserved for us outside, where I guess it is not the original restaurant. Looks like they built it later. The food was ok, but take too long to serve, and always when we asked what was happening, they didn't have the answer. I have a steak and was ok. Some people on the table didn't like their dish as well. There were no air condictioning, and it was very hot. At the end, I would not come back again.

Wonderful small restaurant in design district

By Howard1953 |

We happened to fall upon this wonderful, small restaurant while driving through Miami's design destrict. It is a local favorite. The French food is excellent, fresh and unpretentious. The decor is very plain. The tables aren't that confortable but the food and price point of the menu makes it worth going. We can't wait to go back.

French point of view in DD

By Davide Mune |

For me it's not easy be satisfied when i travel, 'cause in my lovely Italy every place can propose good food, but this restaurant is a good choice for a fast lunch. They have an interesting cookie proposal, based on french cuisine with international influences. the prices are for all customers, in Design District there're no much alternatives like this.

A GREAT FRENCH RESTAURANT

By 2fortheroad4 |

we have been going to BVD for several years for either lunch or dinner. The quiche is the best this side of Paris as well as salads and sandwiches. Their bakery can not be past up. Everything so very fresh. They also have a Bistro next door down which serves lunch and dinner which is also excellent. Everything is well priced and service is very good. Parking can be a problem as it is on the street.

Good food and excellent desserts

By Mispar |

The place is very cozy and the food is really good and home-style (that is, French home). The desserts are all good - you can do a blind pick, will not regret. And the prices are relatively low.

I love this place

By JMCINNYC |

This little place in the design district is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Miami. The Quiches are incredible, pastries outstanding and omg the croissants! Great service, friendly, and always a pleaser.

Food great. Service OK.

By CoupleofTravelers82 |

The food here is wonderful! We had sandwiches and salads. The tabouli was really fresh and delicious. So many pastries! The only thing lacking was service. She was really friendly just slooowwww.

Bon Appetite ..

By joeswartz |

One of my favorites. Been going since he opened. Good service, great food, well priced and nice assortment of daily items. A great and inexpensive standby is chicken curry, very well done there.Ratatouille is good as well.Get a side of wild mushrooms..mmmm. Forget about Beef Bourguignon, while it is OK, it is French Beef Stew with wine. They make so many other great items. Veal Normande if it's the lighter cream sauce is a favorite. Crepe Suzzette is great for desert. My biggest complaint is hot wines and I never get why they don't keep them in a wine cooler. For God's sake we're in south Florida not the caves along the Rhone. Why spoil it all?

A great pace in Miami

Everything is top quality here....food, service, ambiance, prices. I love their baked goods and salads.

Big disappointment

By jcmbfla |

I had been and the past and it was fine. Today was a big disappointment. This is the original location at NE 2nd avenue. Outdoor seating was fine. the menu was similar to past but the food was disappointing. The goat cheese salad didnt have goat cheese but tiny dabs of goat cheese grilled on french bread. the vinaigrette was actually just balsamic vinegar. The French onion soup was delivered with a warning that it was hot. The bowl was hot the soup was cold and still gelled. Obviously not fresh out of the pot. No tap water. Yes it is a "French" place but there is no reason to restrict to environmentally unfriendly water. 18% gratuity added to bill. As an apology the waiter gave us a day old pastry. There are many better $50 lunches in Miami
