Bulevar Mexican Kitchen Reviews

After being told by staff over the phone that they would allow our service dog into the patio, Rebecca the hostess decided that was no longer an option. We were made to wait 20 minutes outside, while Rebecca (long blonde haired hostess) sat other people without reservations….only for her to tell us we could not bring the service dog (in a stroller) into the patio. After the experience and Rebecca’s condescending remarks, I attempted to call the restaurant to speak to the assistant manager that originally said the dog was allowed. Rebecca answered the phone and hung up on me, then refused to answer the phone when I called back three times. The assistant manager did contact us awhile later, apologizing and saying they would like us to give them another chance. Nope! We were from out of town and do not ever plan on returning. I hope management are able to correctly inform their employees of policies going forward and that they terminate the employment of the hostess that had no business being front line of service for guests.

Had dinner on the patio, watching the sunset over the hills. I've eaten a lot of meals in my time (!), this was one of the best. We had the Mixto Pibil pork cheek and belly in a stew with tortillas, salsa and guacamole, absolutely delicious. When we ran through the tortillas, it remained absolutely delicious just out of the bowl. We also had the Australian Prawns, whole prawns with a sauce of coconut, lime and mint -- almost a Thai dish. First prawn I just ate, ignoring the sauce, and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. Then I discovered the sauce on the next one -- wow! For dessert we had the Churros with chocolate and caramel for dipping. Not bad at all! The corn "side dish" is also very nice. Speciality drinks menu is not extensive (the list of tequilas IS extensive!) but interesting, but I am sure the folks behind the large bar can make most anything you want. My drink at least was poured with a heavy hand! Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Was looking forward to trying this place however overall it was disappointing. Personally I think it’s very expensive, the staff were so rushed and made very little personal contact. The atmosphere seemed to match this, the Empanadas had a nice light crispy non greasy outside however the flavour didn’t live up to expectations. I won’t be back.

Horrible dining experience. Waited over 1 hour and 15 minutes and still did not receive our food order so asked for a refund for the drinks we had ordered and left. The manager apologized but there was no reason given for the delay. Wait staff seemed incompetent. Truly disappointing experience.

Bulevar is absolutely amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection with the best ingredients. The drinks are the best. The meats are the best. The salsas are fantastic. A great time with great food.

One of my favorite for Mexican and Latin flavors. 100% gluten free and crazy good! One of our favorite dishes is the Don Frijole y Queso without the queso. And you can’t go wrong with the Taco de Dia for hour. Extensive tequila selection, great drinks ands zero proof options. Love sitting at the bar but the dining room and outdoor patio are lovely too. Great place for date night or happy hour with friends.

If I could give more than 5 stars for the review I would. Anthony was our server and he was attentive, knowlegeable and so so personable. The food was delicious as usual..I've never had a bad meal at Bulevar (and I've been there 15+ times). What set the meal apart was the service. We never wanted for anything.. and then..the check came. It was a business meal and I paid for it. It had been a really long week, so my brain was not performing on all cylinders. Between talking and closing out the receipt, I gave him a 100% tip--he was wonderful, but that level of tip would never fly in my expense report. I didn't realize I had made that mistake and was out of the door already when he came to find me outside so I could fix my error. I did (and gave him a great tip). How amazing is that. Now I neded to add honest to the list of compliments. To top off the evening, he even helped me into my uber. I cannot express how special Anthony is--the other servers I've had in the past have been great as well, he just really went above and beyond.
