I made the reservation on Sept. 23rd. for lunch on Oct.05.The response was that they put me on waiting list,Since by Oct. 3rd. no response I called and was told that the restaurant was closed for lunch on Saturdays. For what reason I was in waiting list if the restaurant was closed? Bad management! I got a reservation for the date requested but for dinner. Very nice décor but high level of noise and a music that was not for the kind of restaurant. The service provided by young staff (dressed as they were at The Rock Hard Café) was very good. Extensive wine list. The foie gras was house made and unfortunately had some lobes vein no removed, we mentioned this to the waiter and said was going to inform the chef. The canard a l'orange was a magret cooked as requested, very good and abundant. The mille feuille, very good and made sandwich type of pastry tuiles and creme pattisiere and Argentine touch of dulce de leche.Next time we will try the lunch and expect better answer to our reservation.

Very elegant place with excellent drinks. Was there for business and we had a great time. Cocktails where sophisticated and balances.

Our first visit to this restaurant. Ambiance is refreshing, elegant, inviting. Cocktail lounge is very cozy with good lighting and soothing decor befitting an upscale restaurant. Dining room is quite small but not cramped. Wine selection is quite extensive, but I was surprised to find old world wines heavily biased toward the upper 20% of price categories and not well balanced in term of selection. The waitress is very helpful and competent. But the cocktail waitress was not quite so at the top of her game. She came back twice to reconfirm our drink orders, and ended up bringing the wrong drink for one of our party. We were polite enough not to point it out. We chose several appetizers from the menu. All were well thought out and prepared. The escargot ravioli was especially memorable. The main entrees were actually not quite up to the expectations built up by the appetizers. The scallop was rubbery, and cod fish was overcooked. The filet special was nicely done but too simple. Overall not a bad attempt at French cuisine, but lacks the finesse and attention to details to be a truly great restaurant.

We went here for my husband's birthday. Overall it was a good experience, there is a buzz inside the restaurant and makes you want to stay at the bar after dinner. The food was great.

I was in town for a conference and we hit up the happy hour at Bullion. The wine/cocktails on special were great as was the snack menu. Plus, we had fantastic service! And the icing on the cake? The small details in decor (even in the bathrooms!), it was very beautiful and luxurious. Can't wait to visit on my next trip!

After living in Dallas for 7 years I have finally found it- the elusive meal that sets itself apart from the pack of generic, one-note restaurants in the metroplex. Bullion wowed in all aspects for a Saturday date night with my husband. First impression: the restaurant is gorgeous with gleaming, dark hardwoods and luxurious gold and blue decor. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation to enjoy a cocktail in the chic but unpretentious lounge. The server was prompt and brought out an amuse cocktail to kick off the night; light and zippy, perfect to get your taste buds going. Also, you cannot beat the people watching in the lounge. We moved into the dining room and were seated at a great table looking straight out towards the Omni. Our server was fantastic! We had some questions about wine and he had the sommelier come over to talk with us about options. I was especially impressed that he asked up front about our price preferences and didn’t try to oversell us on something out of our range. The sommelier recommended a few bottles and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our selection. For our meal we shared the poached egg/duck confit/mushroom starter, the bone in rib eye for two, and the mille feuilles for dessert. The poached egg dish was SO velvety and rich; a perfect blend of flavors. The sauce it came in was so tasty, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The beef was ultra tender and cooked beautifully. It came with fries that were the lightest and crispiest I’ve ever had, and a salad that was simple and refreshing, the perfect amount of acid to balance the rich beef. And my favorite part of any meal, dessert, was light, creamy, crispy, and not too sweet. While the food and ambiance was impressive, nothing was more impressive than the service. I cannot get over how friendly, professional, thoughtful, and approachable every person in the restaurant was. Our server was always willing to share an opinion, our server from the lounge stopped by to check in on us towards the end of our meal, the sommelier was clearly very knowledgeable and really listened to what we were looking for in a wine, and the other people who came to check on us throughout the meal were all fantastic. Bullion is pricey- you should definitely know that going in. But in our experience, you get what you pay for. We can’t wait to come back!

The setting is stunning yet relaxed and inviting. Food is fresh, interesting and beautifully prepared and presented. We especially enjoyed Beef Tartare, Rilette de Saumon, Cod, Halibut and Pork Chop. You are served an assortment of breads. The sour dough is best. Hard to get dinner reservations so we opted for lunch. Doorman to welcome you. Spiral stairwell or take the elevator. Try the gruyere puffs to begin. I had risotto ....can’t resist risotto.

The food is good but the portions are small. So, guys, here is a warning for you. Depending on your server, the experience can be pleasant or not. We did run into a famous clothing designer and that was kind of fun... Took pictures.

Bullion looks great from the outside, but its inside that they have truly nailed it! Nothing was too much trouble and we were made extremely welcome. After a relaxed drink, the food arrived promptly and had clearly been prepared with a lot of attention to detail. It delivered top class flavours, which I suppose is to be expected from such a restaurant, but the consistency across all the dishes was impressive and clearly no accident. Service throughout the evening was extremely attentive without being overbearing. The place has a nice feel about it and I will definitely be back when in Dallas again. A great experience and highly recommended ... Thanks Bullion!

We came to this restaurant expecting it to be a bit stuffy and boy were we wrong! The air is light with the staff sporting cute, casual shoes, and the ambience has a tinge of retro. We had martinis -get the blue cheese stuffed olives- followed by the cab franc. The champignons smothered on bread were delicious as were the escargot. For dinner, we had the halibut and the NY strip. Both were tasty, but I preferred the fish! We will definitely be back when we are in Dallas again! Bon appetit!!

This is clearly the most beautiful dining room in Dallas, and, for that matter, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen in my travels. As an added bonus, the lower noise level allows for meaningful conversation. The food and service is very promising, but there are some flaws—some serious—that need to be overcome. The cocktails were well mixed and nicely served. Breads served at the table were wonderful and what you would hope for in a French restaurant. The leek salad was a clear standout, with combinations of tender leeks mixed with crunchy hazelnuts. The gruyere cheese puffs and goat cheese with pickled vegetables, while tasty, were rather ordinary, with the cheese puffs lacking the full gruyere taste that one might expect. Entrees were good, but the scallops lacked the nice caramelization that was promised. One thing that this restaurant gets right is not overcooking the seafood like too many Dallas restaurants specializing in fish. The cod was expertly prepared and the bourride was cooked to coax out the maximum of flavor in each piece of seafood. Service was very good, but there were some minor glitches and timing difficulties that should be worked out in time. The big downfall for our group was the desserts. While beautiful, none of the them delivered on taste. Neither of the chocolate desserts had the sinful decadence that one would expect in a French bistro. The tarte au citron was bland, and while the citrus taste wasn’t expected to overwhelm, it was so faint as to render the name meaningless. The mille feuille was ordinary, at best, with almost tasteless pastry cream layered in between equally tasteless pastry layers. All in all, I would definitely go back, but will wait a couple of months until the menu has been refined. This restaurant has the chance to put Dallas on the culinary map, but vast improvements in the pastry kitchen will be required, and the entire team will have to elevate its game on execution.

This was a pleasant splurge, though with some disappointments. It's a nice looking restaurant with a cool staircase leading up to it. We started in the bar while we waited for our entire party to arrive. Hubby and I ordered a couple drinks and 20 minutes later when we were about to go to the table we still hadn't gotten our drinks. They brought them to the table so that was fine. Slow as can be considering there were only like 15 other people in the bar, but ok since I'm not in a stage in my life where I'm dying for a drink. Overall the service here is knowledgeable, relaxed, and paced perfectly, which is nice and makes for a lovely evening. We were there for just about 3 hours total. I ordered the Corpse Reviver #1, which was a tad too strong for my tastes. I drank half then switched with hubby who had ordered the Old Fashioned, which was terrific. I didn't love our table, which was a large banquette so I ended up facing the wall all night. We started with Foie Gras Torchon and the Steak Tartare. The steak tartare was lovely. I thought the foie gras was delicious, as was the marmalade, but the toasts served with it were too hard and I ended up using the bread brought to the table. About that bread...it was just ok. There were some little mini loaves of something that were dreadful, like they just took them out of the package from Walmart and didn't warm them up. Plus, they tasted stale. The sliced bread was ok, but again could've been better had it been warmed. I appreciated the individual butter servings. I also tried a friend's Canard Confit which was a bit too salty and not very enjoyable. Another friend ordered some Gougéres Au Gruyère, which were just puffs and no cheese and were very underwhelming. I ordered the Agneau sur la Braise (lamb sirloin) which tasted fantastic, though it was a tiny portion that was 70% pearl onions, which I dislike. The farro that came with it was great but had only about 4 bites worth. Hubby got the rabbit special and was disappointed. I thought it tasted ok with a very nice sauce, but it was overcooked and very dry. For dessert I got the Spiced Chocolate Soufflé, which was simply....ok. No spice whatsoever and just a pleasant and mild chocolaty taste. Though the pistachio ice cream that came with it was terrific and I wish there was more of that. Overall I wish I would've ordered something else! If we come back here I hope it'll be less disappointing and I get to sit somewhere else where I won't be staring at a wall all night.

My husband & I recently dined at Bullion in Dallas. This was our 2nd time to dine there. The food is amazing. It is very unique to Dallas, as there are very few French restaurants in the city. The food here is excellently prepared & includes fresh, local produce that results in food featuring delicious seasonal flavors such as a lima bean succotash that was a true taste of summer. My husband had the tornedos of beef which he said was tender & delicious. I had the scallops which were very good. Also, the dishes are sauced lightly, but everything just melts in your mouth. The desserts are wonderful as well. We had a bittersweet chocolate fondant topped with whipped cream & caramelized pecans that was outstanding. The basket of fresh baked bread is very good. The only thing I wish they would do would be to serve the bread warm instead of room temperature. Also, they have an excellent wine & cocktail list. I love the Paul Autard Cote du Rhone! We have added Bullion to our list of favorite restaurants in Dallas & highly recommend it.

The wait was worth while, a unique location with fantastic decor and top of the line service, a well balanced menu with interesting choices,; my personal favorites Paté en Croûte and the Quenelles lyonnaise (Monday's Chef special) also the Mille Feuille and the Madeleines are worth trying. a very exxtensive wine list rounds a perfect evening in this chic downtown Dallas eatery

My husband and I dined at Bullion last weekend for the first time. The atmosphere was very nice, the food was excellent and our server, Melina, was exceptional. As to the food, we shared a small cheese plate - small but delicious. My husband had the fig and feta salad which he enjoyed. I had the L’oeuf Poché which was amazing - poached egg and wild mushrooms. For main courses we had the duck and the scallops (off menu special). Both we very good and cooked perfectly. Our server, Melina, was friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, quickly resolved a minor issue with a dessert wine and made excellent recommendations. We will definitely dine here again.

On our recent visit to Bullion, everything went very well. We were seated immediately. Our server was polite, informative, and available at all times. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. The wines-by-the-glass were very good and well-chosen. The menu is varied, so that almost anyone will find something that they like. The food was well prepared and presented, and was universally excellent. If there is any criticism it is that some of the portions (but not all) are on the small side. Also, sometimes the service can be a little too efficient, in contrast to the more leisurely pace of a similar restaurant in France. Still, I would not say that we felt rushed. Overall I would say that although the restaurant was expensive, we felt that we got our money's worth.

We were there around Christmas time. Not very crowed at lunch and somewhat Texas causal. This is a pretty upscale restaurant with a cozy feel. Lots of gold toned accents and uniquely suspended through an existing office building near the convention center down town. A rathe unique French influenced menu. Very nice special lunch or dinner destination. Reservations advised.

Bullion is a really nice restaurant all around. It is really expensive but also really good. The atmosphere is unique and special. To me, it feels like you are not in Dallas and you are out for a special occasion when you walk in. It is the type of place that you can really tell that a lot of time and effort goes into the preparation of each dish. When we went, our service was awesome and we had a great time. Our group of four shared bites of the various dishes and they were all really good. The food was very good. That being said, their wasn't one particular bite or dish that I would say was must get next time dish, and truthfully, it seems like the type of place that is constantly changing and updating their menu. I love food but am probably not a big enough culinary person to get all the intricacies of what they are doing, but we had an amazing time and thought everything we tasted was wonderful. If it was on someone else's dime, I would definitely go back often, but for us we will make it back for some special occasion.

We had a lovely dinner for a girls get together. We decided to share a number of starters mains and desserts between all of us. I can highly recommend the cheese gougeres to start and the duck for main, as well as the summer risotto which was excellent. Service was very good. A little rushed to start but when he saw we were planning a long catch up meal, the service became a lot slower, which was lovely. Although the food was excellent, I was surprised at the cost. It’s definitely a restaurant for a special occasion to justify the price!

Came, as a thank you to a co worker for helping while a manager was on vacation and this dinner blew everyone away. 6 of us and all very wine knowledgeable. The Som came over and helped us and was outstanding. Our server did a great job at being attentive to us. Presentation of the food is spectacular. Love the bar area and decor of the venue. They have done such a great job at every detail. Look forward to my next visit. No more need for an excuse to come. Just because is good enough for me.!!!

Four of us went on a Saturday night and Bullion did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful. We had 8:15 reservations and were seated promptly. The entire staff was superb. Everything we ate was terrific. Starters: vegetables with creamy goat cheese and smoked salmon appetizer. Of course, the fresh assorted breads and butter were wonderful. For salads: Poireaux (awesome!) and Salade Verte. For dinner: the special Dover Sole (Flown in from Dover on Friday. Lucky to still have a couple of orders available-2 thumbs up) Halibut (delish) and the Cod (2 of us had the Cod and it was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. You must get the Cod!) We also had the special white asparagus which was the best ever and green beans almondine. For dessert we ordered the Baked Alaska and the Mille Feuille (To die for) and our server overheard that we were celebrating a birthday so she also brought a special strawberry parfait. All 3 were fabulous! If you enjoy good food, a beautiful restaurant and superb service....make a reservation now! It is not a big restaurant, so plan ahead. ENJOY!

The fam took my father in law to Bullion for his 90th birthday. My wife and I have dined there 3 times before so we had a pretty good idea of what to expect. The one unexpected aspect of the experience was the service. In our prior visits the service was impeccable. Not so much this time. Our waitress seemed like she was pretty new and was not as knowledgeable about the menu as others have been. It took almost 30 minutes from the time we ordered cocktails until they arrived. The food also took awhile. As always the food was excellent. We shared an assortment of appetizers to start. The cod on the menu is the best I've ever had. Five out of 7 of us ordered it and everyone was happy. One had the halibut and one had duck and they were both pleased. If my rating was based solely on food I would have given 5 stars. I deducted 1 star for the service. We will definitely go back!

If Austin Power's nemesis Goldmember opened a restaurant, this would be it. Its lavish and loquacious decor serves Dallas elites. The food was delicious but I'd prefer a smoke and a pancake.

The new standard for French fare in Dallas. West downtown desperately needed a dining destination outside of the Omni, and Bullion is sure to deliver. The ambiance suits anything from a special date to a business dinner. Cocktails were exquisite (try the Bonne Chance if you want your life to change for the better) and the lamb sirloin was perfection. They're still working out a few new-spot kinks, but nothing that won't settle after another few weeks. Service was knowledgable and pleasant - the wait staff, especially in the lounge, makes you feel cooler than you are without being overbearing or unapproachable. When they ran low on truffle for my risotto at the end of the night, a manager brought it out with sincere apologies and comped the dish. Was probably unnecessary because I don't think I would have noticed the difference as the dish still looked and smelled full of truffle, but shows a serious dedication to quality on the part of the kitchen and the staff. Best part is that it won't break the bank - it's priced just the same if not better than other French spots in Dallas, but you won't find anything close to the quality of Chef Bruno Davaillion's food without importing it from France.

If you consider yourself a foodie Bullion is your place. This modern French bistro is one of the best places you can eat in Dallas. There isn’t a bad choice.

Absolutely amazing French food - easily the best I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is modern and classy. It was a very nice place for a business dinner. Note that you get what you pay for - excellent food and wine, but small portions and pricey.

We were super excited to come to this restaurant after reading all the opening hype. First of all, this restaurant is not even close to being a Michelin Star restaurant. Don’t buy into the hype. We have been to over 100 Michelin restaurants including most of the top 100 in the world. Service is poor and the kitchen takes way too long to get your food. The food portions are small for what you get. Markup on wine is way too high. Three times what you can pay for on your own unless the wine is over $1000. It is too bad that this restaurant does not deliver on what is deserved and needed in Dallas. I would wait a year for a better experience or new restaurant.

We had high expectations and they were rewarded. Bullion is stunning to look at and upon arrival you walk up spiral stairs to the restaurant. Table settings were beautiful and elegant. I loved the curved booths. We started with leeks garnished with goat cheese and hazelnuts and my husband had the snapper crudo. Our entrees were cod and lamb. Both excellent. Dessert was tart au citron. Chef is creative and sent us a mushroom dish gratis. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be back in January!

Food was delicious. I had the Cod, my wife had an interesting mousse with cod and lobster. Portions were adequate, but we bulked them up a little with a delicious spinach side and mashed potatoes. Desserts were great too. Disappointed that we couldn't see the on site vertical farming Growracks®, hopefully next time. Great restaurant that grows their own herbs, very clever.

This is probably the best new restaurant to open in DFW in years. Bruno Davaillon's modern French restaurant is an impressive space with fantastic food. I've only been for dinner, but the restaurant has started serving lunch recently. I can't wait to go.

We went to Bullion for Kelly's 6th annual 30th Birthday. It was delicious! They have everything you could want in a French restaurant and the space itself is like a golden 70's time capsule. We started off with a bottle of champagne from the sommelier Julie and it was bright, flavorful but not too sweet. It was a brand neither of us had ever heard of so it was nice to try something new and was by far not the most expensive on the menu. I appreciate a sommelier who doesn't drive their suggestions by price of bottle. Carson was our waiter and was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We did not try the cheese puffs per his recommendation because we ordered the foie gras but in hindsight I bet they would've paired really well together. The birthday girl had the scallops which were cooked wonderfully and I had the lobster. The broth it came in was amazing. For dessert we enjoyed a selection of cheeses and a couple of digestif's that made all of Kelly's (and mine) Birthday dreams come true. We look forward to going back and trying other items such as the carrot soup and duck l'orange. A special shout out to Kristy who came through with a toothpick in our moment of need.

My colleague and I sat at the bar and shared a few things as we wanted to try different items. Our entrees were delicious (cod and NY strip)...the beef was tender and perfectly cooked to my liking (medium rare). You can only order from the full menu at the bar but can order lighter bites in the lounge.

We had the best dinner...Dover sole was amazing as was the lobster....but the bar was the best of all...the guys were just amazing as were the drinks. Thnak you!

We really enjoyed the experience. It wasn't quite the wow we were expecting largely because of the main dishes, but we'd still recommend. Appetizers (especially the gnocchi) and desserts (especially the mille feuille) were wonderful. The bison was cooked beautifully, but the whole peppercorns on its exterior were too much. One piece of the pheasant was a bit overcooked and dry so could have used more sauce, but the other was perfectly cooked. We thought the service was strong - particularly the sommelier - the wines she chose as pairings were perfect and really added to the fun of the dinner.

We loved our first visit to Bullion. Started in the bar and enjoyed happy hour. Great drink selection and good presentation. Then we were given a great table as they wanted to take care of us for our anniversary. We had the most well versed waiter that I have ever had. Brer our waiter(I think that's his name was spelled) was fantastic and very knowledgeable about every dish and gave great recommendations. Dinner was delicious and we enjoyed every bite. Then of course deseert hit the spot. Overall great night and dinner and definitely one of our top picks now in Dallas.

Four of us thought we would enjoy the French restaurant that gets just high reviews. Lovely atmosphere, good service but food that did not live up to the high praise. First of all the bread was so hard a knife would not go through it. We asked for a basket of soft bread and was told that is the only bread they have. Next, the small house salad was made up of whole pieces of different types of lettuce..... nothing else. It was not bad tasting, just hard to cut up and eat in the small given bowl. Next was pheasant, fish and two orders of duck. Very small portions of each for very high prices. Since we were still hungry we did enjoy excellent desserts. Each of us have recently spent some time in France and we do frequent the other French restaurants in Dallas. It's a long stretch calling Bullion a good French restaurant.

My wife and I came here for New Year's Eve Dinner. The setting is gorgeous, although with the big bay windows, the restaurant was a little cooler than desired if the outside temperatures are colder. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience. The ravioli escargot were an interesting spin, but the tarragon overwhelmed the dish. The orange duck was much better, with nice accompaniments. Between the appetizer, main and a simple side salad, there was ample food for both of us. Wine selections were nice, with almost the entire list being French, although the list focused a bit too much on higher end offerings, and there were not many everyday or value wines to be found.

This restaurant deserves to be on everyone's "list of places that I want to go" even if just to admire its stunning looks. Be prepared for a short but well curated menu that will offer something for everyone; fish, lamb, beef, vegetarian, etc. all prepared and plated immaculately. Our party of six skipped apps and desserts because they were served at the home of our host so I can't comment on those dishes. However, the mains were all superb .... between us we ordered the chicken, halibut, lamb and 1/2 lobster thermidor. The halibut with a saffron sauce was the best I have ever eaten. The only complaint from the group was that the 1/2 lobster was small although it was delicious. Although we did not partake, they have a Happy Hour in which they offer well priced drinks, champagne and small bites. Music selection at first seemed a little odd but after giving it second thought it supported the glitz and glam of the room. Our waiter was quite knowledgeable about the menu items, preparation and ingredients in addition to being efficient and professional. Some patrons were dressed overly casual for a restaurant of this stature appearing as if they mistook it for Applebees. More emphasis regarding attire on the web site may help but will not solve the issue.

The Bullion has the potential to be the top-notch dining destination in Dallas. The wait staff is well trained, know the menu well and tend to some details overlooked in many better restaurants. Even the staff that greet you before you enter the restaurant are friendly and helpful. The bar and dining room are truly beautiful and quite comfortable----might be ranked #1 for atmosphere. We were very happy that the dining room environment allowed for easy conversation unlike many, many places in town. And, it was great to see that 90% of the men wore jackets. Too bad the food didn’t match the glitz and glamorous atmosphere. There were kitchen issues that caused unacceptable delays in being served. We waited almost 50 minutes for our entrée. The special of the day appetizer was a sausage dish that included difficult to chew sausage casings and a potato crisp that was no better than what one could get at McDonalds. The Baked Alaska was creative and acceptable but too distant from the traditional version and very small. The bouillabaisse was a bit skimpy and the fish content on the mushy side. The quality of the food still has a way to go to meet Michelin standards. Our experience was such that if we had out of town guests we’d indeed go to Bullion for drinks at the bar then head over to Flora Street Café or Abacus for dinner.

Best new French restaurant in Dallas! Took two weeks to get a reservation but worth the wait. Only the view, ultra modern architecture, decor, and meticulous attention to detail tell you you're in Dallas. The cuisine is strictly French provincial and the portion sizes are reasonable. This helps keep prices down, however, expect to pay more for wine on average because the selection is entirely French. Our party of four included my wife, daughter, and adult granddaughter. I tried to order a Bombay Sapphire martini and was told the brand was not available. Our knowledgeable waiter, Victor, suggested Citadelle, a French gin that was good, but not quite up to the British standard. Our dining choices for appetizers were steak tartare, escargot raviolis, and paté de fois gras. For entrées we selected coquilles Saint Jacques, duck a l'orange, cassoulet, and beef comprised of strip sirloin and beef cheeks. For dessert we shared baked Alaska and a spiced chocolate soufflé. Everything was paired to complement the main dish. Duck, probably the most difficult bird to cook properly was done to perfection, medium rare breast strips with crispy spiced skin. If I had one little negative, I felt the escargots were a bit overwhelmed by the Pernod sauce. But for a new restaurant, everything went surprisingly smooth. Chef Bruno Davaillon, owner, and former head chef at Dallas' Mansion on Turtle Creek, dropped by to chat after espresso and cognacs. The world is truly small: he, and my wife and daughter are from the same town in the Berry region of central France. What are the odds! An absolutely wonderful evening!

Such a classy restaurant. I’ve traveled the world and been to so many great restaurants but this is one of the best. French cuisine at its best. A must go if you’re in Dallas.

Excellent service and meal. was fairly priced. Had Ravioli Escargot, pork chop and Veal. Would recommend!

We had a great experience at Bullion. Would give 4.5 stars if allowed. Had great service with Will. Though the tortellini were a little weak, the dishes we had were great. We started witb the mushroom duxelles which was very nice. Earthy mushrooms, savory truffle. It was fantastic with their fresh baked bread. The fois gras app was great. The fois was a savory earthy and fatty. The fresh baked brioche was flavorful. The fig and balsamic marmalade was a welcome addition. The poached egg witb Duck confit and woke mushrooms was excellent. Savory and earthy with a great salty kick. This dish was special. The leeks with goat cheese, herbs, and hazelnuts was a surprisingly successful dish. It was not something I would have ordered without the recommendation but it was with it. Refreshing with nice acidity and brightness, it was a great change of pace. The bison strip loin ain’t poive was delicious. The crust was full of black pepper flavor and the steak was perfectly cooked. The sommelier was knowledgeable and recommended a great wine. The wine list is extensive although the markup is on the high end.

You really should experience Bullion. While it wasn't perfect it was a great evening with some perfection mixed in. The design and architecture alone are worth the visit. It is like having dinner in a James Bond villian's lair. We started at the bar while we waiting for our reservation time. I urge you to arrive at least a half hour early to enjoy some phenomenal drinks and great service. Austin was our bartender and his personality was as good as his drinks. Five star bar experience. We were sat promptly for dinner at our exact reservation time. It did take about ten minutes for someone to finally greet us. Our server was courteous and helpful, but never more. The biggest negative of the night was the bread. When you first walk into the dining area there is a divider that doubles as a shelf for the various breads. This looks neat, but holy moly the bread was sand dry. Not sure if that is how it is supposed to taste or it really had been sitting out too long. It didn't taste bad, but it required every bit of the butter provided along side it to alleviate the dryness. We ordered the cheese puffs and the mushroom duxelles for appetizers, and even more dryness! Again, not sure if they were supposed to be that dry, but not what we expected. The rest of the dinner was wonderful. I had the gnocchi and my wife had the halibut. Neither could have been cooked or tasted any better, and our sides we all amazing. We had to do the souffle for dessert and you will too. It was astonishingly good! Literally cooked to perfection with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and orange marmalade. Some rocky points but the good far outweighed the slightly bad. Great experience and we will be back. Quick tip: Try their version of a Painkiller cocktail. Best one I have ever had!

Outstanding bar for pre-dinner drinks. Great service and an amuse bouche drink! Beautiful dining room. Amazingly efficient and elegant service. Food is over the top, truly French.

What a lovely restaurant in a downtown office building. Has it's own entrance and valet parking. The decor was beautiful and the noise level was minimal so we had a wonderful time with another couple. The Waldorf Salad was unique and delicious. The escargot ravioli was amazing. I had the Duck -moist and not fatty. My wife had the truffle risotto which she couldn't stop raving about. We finished with a light mille fusille (sp?). An issue with my cocktail order was quickly rectified and did not ruin our dining experience. Top shelf dining in Dallas. We'll be back.

This may be the best restaurant in Dallas nowadays. Chef Bruno, formerly at The Mansion in Turtle Creek needs no introduction. His newest place is beautiful and classy. But the food, so delicious, from the bread and butter to the dessert. Service is also excellent. If it weren't in downtown I'd go there weekly, but I live around Plano, 30 miles north and hate to deal with the traffic and the need to use Waze to get there and out.

Curiously suspended in mid-air like a golden-tiled hornet’s nest clinging for dear life to the 3rd floor of a downtown office tower, is an oblique chocolate box that is home to Michelin star chef Bruno Devaillon’s newest bistro - Bullion. It’s hard not to wonder what a French bistro might be doing just a block-and-a-half from the Kennedy assassination site, and after overhearing a fellow diner climbing down from her white Yukon Denali proudly exclaiming: “I eat French food all the time. French fries. French toast. French bread. All of it!” I couldn’t help wondering just how much chef Bruno might have to “Tex-ify” some of his Franco masterpieces. But my fears were unfounded. After ascending the spiral stairway, you leave Texas behind you for an hour or so, and find yourself in a cruise-ship styled cocktail lounge that leads via the pastry rack to an ornate, yet unpretentious dining space with dark woods and golden trims, somewhere along the border of cosy and chic. The menu reads like any you’d find along la rive gauche with a few contemporary items wedged between stalwart classics like a hearty saffron and tomato Bouillabaise with a mix of seafood shells and scales served with shards of grilled country bread, and an immaculately charred Foie Gras Torchon complete with berry marmalade and squishy brioche. But nothing gets a table arm-wrestle match going like a bowlful of the most amazing Gougéres au Gruyere. These caramel colored puffs are lighter and fluffier than a cheerleaders’ pom-pom. And as they go about their miraculous disappearing act, it feels like a kiss to the lips from a cheese-dusted feather. I was intrigued by the notion of a leek salad and so had to try the Poireaux, which features a regimented row of steamed leeks trying their best to impersonate white asparagus, dotted with soft goat-cheese and roasted hazelnuts in a super light truffle vinaigrette. Even though this is grill country, the sumptuous Tournedos filet mignon with potato gratin and a trickle of mild oxtail au jus is an extraordinarily smooth cut that submits its salty umami without resistance. The Cabillaud & Brandade awash with a tart tomato and caper confit is just light enough not to kill the subtle cod flavor, and the Agneau is an incredibly toffee-tender lamb loin, very gently accented with a sparkle of anchovy vinaigrette, accompanied by a bright and crunchy summer succotash. If you haven’t picked up on it yet, there was enormous restraint from over-flavoring the food – true to the kitchen’s mission to prepare dishes that don’t overshadow the key ingredients. Even the table-side flambéed guava and coconut ice-cream centered Baked Alaska is meek, mild, subtle and delicate.

What a fantastic dinner. The atmosphere was beautiful and the views were great. The food was excellent. We loved our waitress Yersenia. We are definitely going back.

Everything you would expect at this price point. An inviting, warm restaurant, attentive staff, impressive wine list, deliciously prepared food beautifully presented. I only wish they had some more sustainable choices. It is a somewhat large restaurant but they've laid-out the space to make it feel more intimate. And noise level can be a bit on the higher decibel side.

My son purchased a gift card for my recent birthday. The hostess immediately acknowledged my birthday as well as our waiter. Waiter was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable! We had the oysters as appetizers which were excellent in butter and seaweed. I had the bison and my wife the pheasant. The bison melted in my mouth and the pheasant was perfect. Finished with the chocolate soufflé for my wife and the French creme pastry for desserts. Our experience was totally fantastic.

My wife and I had an excellent dinner on a Friday evening recently. Aside from a plat-du-jour option, the menu is a la carte and has sufficient breadth to satisfy most diners. The appetizers we sampled (gruyere cheese puffs and confit salad) were both very good. The preparation of seafood here is top notch, and loup de mer (sea bass) and scallops were both excellent. The fish and scallops were prepared expertly, and were accompanied by simple ingredients that flatter the dish (shellfish with the bass, and Iberico ham with the scallops). We had room only to share the baked alaska for dessert, and it was highly satisfying. The wine list is relatively limited, and can probably use a little more variety. Service was excellent. We had an early (6:15PM) reservation, and the restaurant really filled out within an hour. I can see how service may have been an issue when the restaurant first opened because of staffing limitation, but looked like it has been rectified during our visit. Definitely the best french food you can find in Dallas.

I had had no reason to visit Dallas for the past thirty years, but when my Niece, who resides in Sydney NSW and I had not seen in three years, announces to me she will be in Dallas, it was time to "get on Big Bird" and "get on down there". I had learned of Bullion through this and several other sites, and she was quite agreeable to go there. The restaurant is near the JFK Memorial, and with a little help from Mr. Google, it was not difficult to find walking from City Center Marriott. The service from the waitstaff was excellent. I can only describe the cuisine as "eclectic", but whatever, it was very good. The menu and recited "specials" appear to frequently change, so if to say "have the Lamb Porterhouse", they could well be offering something else. The bottle of Puligny Montrachet suggested, while "up there" in the price category, was indeed excellent. I can't be sure when I will be in Dallas again, but until such time, I heartily recommend Bullion.

My wife and I and another couple had a wonderful meal!! The service was spectacular as well. We enjoyed appetizers in the comfortable bar area, then moved to the main dining room for dinner. Love the Sea Scallops and Duck dishes.

Superb in all respects! We celebrated our 42nd anniversary last night and struck gold at this well-appointed, classy modern French restaurant. Sabrina was very knowledgeable about not only cuisine but drinks as well and both she and others of the wait staff worked together as a team to provide outstanding service. Must try the ravioli escargot and the mushroom appetizer. I had Cod and my wife had scallops, both of which were memorable. Also loved the light puffy frites. The pistachio souffle was not available but the staff offered us a chocolate souffle which was not on the menu. So accommodating all- around. One of the five best meals I have had in Dallas in my 40+ years of fine dining. Will go back in a heartbeat and not wait for another special occasion. Hats off to Bruno who has created a special place w/sophisicated ambience. Larry

Really impressed by this place. Trendy second floor scene in an office building that gives the appearance of floating separately. Food was impeccable. I had the poached egg with mushrooms and the sweetbreads. Both mouthwatering. Drinks were great too with a good selection of European style beers, great cocktails, and a comprehensive French wine list. Highly recommend a visit while in Dallas.

An excellent dining experience in modern and elegant surroundings. The three course Mother’s Day lunch was superb, Michelin, relais château quality. I had trout to start with, followed by cod and a tarte tartin for dessert . Each course was delicious as were the dishes my husband and son picked. Big bravo chef Bruno and wish you every great success with your restaurant !

My wife and I visited Bullion last Saturday. We arrived early for our 6:45 reservation and sat down in the bar area for a cocktail. My first impression of the restaurant is the giant spiral staircase upstairs. The decor is quite beautiful throughout. The bar area is impressive, and I'd be more than happy to sit and dine there if we couldn't get a reservation. We enjoyed the window seat overlooking The Dallas Morning News building and downtown. We loved our drinks then sat down for dinner. I was delighted with the entire menu. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The cheese plate was unique. I had the leek salad followed by the cod. My wife enjoyed the lamb. Overall the food and drink were excellent - what one would expect for a 1st tier restaurant in Dallas. However, the decor really sets Bullion apart and made for a wonderful experience! We will be back!

Excellent food and the best dessert in town . The place is beautifully decorated, and we will definitely come back

The food here is excellent. I had the rabbit, my wife had the veal. Both meats were perfectly prepared, lightly sauced (at the table) and accompaniments well suited and delicious. Espresso was unusual—rich, spicy, very nice. The tarte au citron was fabulous. Ridiculously long wine list. You can spend as much as you like, but you can also get a very good wine without breaking the bank. Our server was helpful, without being intrusive. All in all, great food, but be warned that there is nothing understated about the place. It is American glamour, wealth and ostentation, from the moment you arrive.

Know the type of restaurant, I already knew what I was getting into, but wow. I've never had a french dining experience like this. Chicken and apple puree?! What! Crazy good, and don't skip on desert. Really.

Wow, how did we miss this one. Open since last November. French cuisine and absolutely outstanding. One of my top 3 restaurants in Dallas now. Food is incredible and the presentation is beautiful. Waitstaff was on point at every step. The venue itself is modern and fresh. Love the bar and the view of downtown Dallas is spectacular. Fell in love with this place! Can't wait to go back.

My food was so fresh & tasty, & paired with the wine, it was all quite delicious. It's a very attractive restaurant, & the waitstaff was so very nice & attentive to me. As a sole diner that evening, Lydia was a kind & thoughtful waitperson, & another gentleman (who served my wine & made dessert recommendations) was equally welcoming. The freshly baked madeleines were the best I've ever tasted, & I rate Bullion very highly.

We purchased a gift card in 12/2017. We were emailed the receipt for the gift card. Two years later when I presented the receipt, I was told by GM Heather that they would not honor the receipt and I needed to present a gift card. We are out $200 How would you feel?

I just had my first "real" meal at Bullion, after one cocktail reception and one fixed menu event in December. I must say - it is an incredible dining experience. Its attention to detail, flawless service, delicate culinary touches and robust wine list add up to a not-miss experience. And a real bonus: they are open for lunch, providing the highest of high-end dining options for anyone interested. The lunch menu was ample, not voluminous. I started with Gruyere Cheese Balls, lighter than air and delicious. The pate was fantastic and obviously house-made. And the Salade Nicoise is simply the best I have tasted outside of France - perfect light seasoning, multiple components wonderfully presented. As good as each of these dishes was, I look forward to my next meal when I can taste completely different choices. The wine list is very intelligent and focused. The restaurant has had some local publicity on its interior design (mostly favorable), and I agree that the setting is very attractive with nice elevated views. But the story here is the chef and the food - incroyable! I can't wait to return.

Very intimate setting. Staff was very nice and helpful. Great food preparation. Right across the street from my hotel.

This restaurant was more than we expected. What was better was the server, Yesy, she was amazing and very knowledgeable. We will definitely come back to see her and try more of her recommendations.

The beauty of Bullion begins with the architecturally impressive building in the heart of downtown Dallas. Inside the interior design is striking. We arrived near the end of happy hour, and for a few minutes actually had some bargain prices on drinks and appetizers. Moving onto the dining area - it is larger than I anticipated, but designed so a couple can still have an intimate dinner. To begin with, we had some excellent PEI oysters and a fig and fennel salad. Main dishes were the duck - perhaps the best I have ever had, and a french pepper-tenderloin, also superb. I would recommend both these dishes - although the vegetable sides are often more interesting than memorable. I believe ours came with roasted fennel and grilled romaine lettuce. The only plate I don't recommend is the fig fennel salad - although it is popular and generally well-reviewed by others. The service was flawless as was the wine list. I have seen negative reviews about the music - it's a bit louder in the bar area than the dining room. I would still give the ambiance 5 stars. Bullion is a unique and very satisfying dining experience.

We celebrated a recent family anniversary at Bullion. It was our second visit, and we had high expectations based upon our first visit. The bar scene before dinner was as good as we remembered, and dinner was generally good. One of the four in our group barely touched her entree. It was borderline inedible. We noted the experience to the restaurant after the fact and they responded in an appropriate manner.

Great place to go for cocktails and fine dining. Unusual space with friendly welcome, good atmosphere, great service and excellent food.

Great evening. Amazing wine selection and great assistance in choosing the right bottle. Ravioli d'escargots excellent! Cod and beef plates were excellent. Atmosphere wonderful, service amazing, food spectacular. Just an overall wonderful experience. Now my go to restaurant in Dallas for luxury dining.
Birthday Party Gone Wrong
Deciding to take my Step Daughter to a dinner and to invite her friends was to be a special occasion. Well from the fact that despite I had my assistant call and request a certain table and had a verbal confirmation, there was no table for us. Then it took 45 minutes to get a drink. The same for our food. And when our food came, it was not hot. Even the Millennials could not eat their dinner and started complaining to the Manager. Each of us had something different and NONE of us could finish or eat our dinner. The Duty Manager was there and came to the table and kept apologizing , but it went from bad to worse. We got there at 7:00, and ended up leaving at 11:15... not because we wanted to....
