On Sunday, May 25th, we experienced the worst dining experience ever. Our waitress did not get the correct orders or mixed the items up. Items such as hot sauce, syrup were not offered nor in some cases not brought when asked for. Drinks orders were not filled when ordering seconds; alcohol, not freebies. Meals were not served in a timely manner and as a result, the food got cold when waiting for other portions of the order. The waitress offered excuses of being understaffed, however that does not account for her not getting two of the four orders correct. We finally left when the fourth in our party never received his order. A terrible experience. We had enjoyed this restaurant previously, but it will no longer be on our dining venue.

I have always had a very good experience here. I've been 3-4 times over the last 3 years. I always get the prime rib and broccoli which is cooked just the way I like it, medium rare. I usually don't add any sauce to my meat if it is cooked right but their horseradish sauce is very good so you should try it. They have a lot of good beer on tap and the mud pie was very good and plenty for 2-4 people. The waitress was very nice and attentive. There are a good amount of tvs for watching your favorite team. It's not wall to wall but you should be able to find a game you like.

Tried this place and was very disappointed, the food was mediocre at best, the Ribs were cold, the hamburger soggy, loud rock music in the background baked potato was simply tasteless.... honestly the kids food was the best we had on the table. give it a pass......

Every time we visit San Diego, We HAVE to eat at Bully's. It is THE prime rib in SD. Great TIP: when 4-5 are dining, order the Beast cut of prime rib. Everyone will eat this 38 oz cut and can enjoy other dishes like the Manila Clams, really good as well! I have been coming here for more than 16 years and will continue to do so for many to come!

Bully's is an old school steakhouse located in Mission Valley. The best thing about this place is the happy hour. They have two - one from 4:30-7:30 and the other is late night - from 10:30 to close. They have $3 pints and wells and half off all of their appetizers. And their appetizers are AMAZING! The prime rib quesadilla, jalapeno cheese bread and the fire shrimp and chicken dishes are HUGE and really cheap. Five of us came here for happy hour and food, left 3 hours later toasted and full and our tab was $75 for everyone. And the bartenders are super cool. Worth the trip.

Make no mistake: Bully's doesn't have the same grand ambiance as Morton's, Lowry's Prime Rib in Vegas, or the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco; however, it does offer some very good Prime Rib for a reasonable price, which is a pretty good trade-off in my book. Bully's decor is an eclectic fusion of a dark English pub/bar, American steakhouse and sports bar, but you won't care once you sink your teeth into your dinner. The Prime Rib came with two sides--we enjoyed large salads and baked potato with ours. My 22 oz. bone-on prime rib was thick, tender, juicy, very tasty and was cooked exactly as ordered. We enjoyed a bottle of Cabernet with our meal, and although the wine list isn't particularly extensive, it's also not particularly expensive and half-price bottles on Thursday nights makes it even more enjoyable. It looked like it was a popular place for local couples, families and for business meals, based upon those seated around us on a Thursday night. When you're driving to Bully's East, be aware that there is a Camino Del Rio North, as well as a Camino Del Rio South, and that they are separate streets: we were grateful for the GPS app in my cell phone, which guided us there perfectly. Parking is free, but be aware that spaces are few and tight, so you might need to park up the hill in the outside lot of a nearby business.

Bully's has been a landmark of the greater San Diego area and has proudly represented this great city when it comes to fine dining. I have been a patron for the past 5 years and will always be a patron as long as the doors are open.

Went last Monday. Going again tonight! Happy Hour starts at 4:30 and goes til close (12:15). Great food! My BF loves the prime rib bits. I love the tequila shrimp (but I get it without bacon), Volcano shrimp, and I love, love, love the baked brie! So yummy-you won't be disappointed. Jade was our server. She was busy, but still gave us great service.

For that occasion when lunch requires an old style restaurant, red meat, and alcohol, Bully's East is the place. The drinks are strong and the meat is well prepared. A lot of fun.

When we come to the horse track we always try and eat at Bully's. Was sad that the location in Del Mar was closed but it wasn't to far to drive to the other location. The serve was excellent and the food very good.

Visiting San Diego, never heard of the place, but wanted MEAT! First, parking is terrible, odd shaped lot, narrow isles, almost left because of it, but glad we didn't. Decor is low light wood, comfortable, sports barish, a little loud on the Thursday night we were there with football on. Food was really good, I order a huge hunk of Prime Rib, and it was excellent. I would however skip the extra "horseradish crust" it was not appealing, not very horsradishy, and I ended up scraping it all off, which wasn't hard because it was hardly stuck on. The crust is a gimmick they should get rid of. With the meal you get two sides, and one of mine was a small version of their wedge salad, which was huge for a side. I really enjoyed Bully's and will definitely keep it in mind next time I am in San Diego

These old classic Americana steak houses are getting harder and harder to find...soup or salad included, pick a protein, soft leather booths, romantic lighting, and professional attentive friendly waitstaff. Came for a wake, nicely setup and the staff was great. Cocktails, wine, and beer flowed at a brisk and accurate pace. The appetizers here are phenomenal! The filet meatballs are perhaps the most delicious meatballs in all of San Diego, the rich, thick, gravy was so lovingly coating the meats. Prime Rib Bits are so tender, juicy, and covered in an incredible dry rub that added perfect robust flavor. Fried Artichoke Hearts are great to eat your veggies in an unhealthy but very delicious way...and you might be need that extra fiber to help with your meat loaded bowel movements later. Wedge Salad was fresh and perfectly sized, with nice portions of crispy bacon and bleu cheese, and generous on the sweet cherry tomatoes. 8oz lobster tail was epic! I can't remember the last time I had such an humongous lobster tail. Cooked perfectly with its famous tender texture and sweet, delicate flavor. The clarified butter made it all the more wondeful. $53 regularly 8oz Filet Mignon...Extremely tender, moist and succulent, lovely! $47 efinitely coming back when I want the American Steakhouse experience, without the snobby pretentiousness.

Wated over an hour for main course. We paid for drinks and appetizer and left. Staff had attitude. No appologies offered. App plate had dried schmutz on it.

The prime rib and shrimp scampi combo is my all time favorite!!! Made to perfection, every cut of meat melts in your mouth and the shrimp is delicious and fresh. Thank you for existing Bully's East.

This was our first visit to Bully's East - although we were frequent visitors at the Bully's in La Jolla that sadly closed more than five years ago. We went on a Thursday evening. The parking is ample and our greeting was very friendly. We requested a booth and were seated promptly. The lighting is subdued and the seating is very comfortable. TVs were turned to a couple of live football games but the volume was very low and did not interfere with conversations. Our server was pleasant and very accommodating. We enjoyed the salmon and large salads and my husband loved the short ribs from the Oktoberfest menu. The highlight was a visit by two of the Chargers girls who were selling their swimsuit calendars to raise money for an anti-bullying charity. The evening was lots of fun, the food was delicious and we felt like valued customers.

My friends & I went to the State game & wanted to find somewhere to continue the party & eat. I was surprised when my friend suggested Bully's because I assumed it wouldn't be 'fan friendly'. TOTALLY the opposite!!! Right when we walked in we saw a sea of Black & Red & there was sports memorabilia all over the place along w flat screens everywhere. Even better than the lively friday night crowd was the amazing late night Happy Hour that last till closing. Gotta love a HH that doesn't stop before the party does! We ordered blackened prime rib bits (best I have EVER tasted), seared ahi, & baked brie. Everything was so good & I liked that there was a huge range of items to choose from. Our server suggested a new beer on the menu, Magic Hat, which is now my new fave! On the way to the restrooms I noticed that the other half of the restaurant was full of couples & families dining. My friend later told me that Bully's is family owned, which explains the cozy feel of the joint (completely dislike the cheesy corporate type places) . Total plus knowing this place appeals to ALL customers (bringing my parents in asap!). I was impressed to see that they also have a Facebook page that provided so much more info. Great prices, delicious food, friendly staff... HIGHLY recommended to everyone!

On Friday night, I remembered LAST MINUTE that it was my dad's birthday! (What an awful daughter, I know) But anyways, I immediately called him up and told him I had dinner reservations all set up and would pick him up around 6pm. THEN I called Bully's East (His favorite restaurant) and explained the situation to the hostess who was so understanding and told me they would have a booth in the dining room ready for us at 6:30pm. Well at 6:15pm (after a frantic rush to the store for balloons and a present) my dad and I arrived at Bully's East. We were greeted by an adorable, blonde hostess who told us that our table was ready and that she could seat us right away, or if we wanted to we could take advantage of the happy hour drinks and appetizers at the bar. We chose to see what they had on happy hour since we were a little bit early anyways! They had such GREAT happy hour speacials that we had never even noticed after years of coming to Bully's East! We were promptly helped by another cute, blonde cocktail server who recommended that we try the Calamari Strips and Baked Brie. (Both were AMAZING!) My dad ordered the usual Karl Straus and I ordered the Dirty Bleu Martini. I LOVE bleu cheese olives! Once we finished happy hour, the cocktail server let the hostess know, and they took us directly to our booth in the dining room as promised. We were told our server would be with us shortly, and moments later she arrived with a smile on her face, water, and bread!! She told us about the fish specials, nightly specials, soup of the night, and seasonal vegetables! Then she took our drink order: an Antioxidant and another Karl Straus (my dad is a creature of habit)!! We spent a few minutes talking over drinks and looking over the menu. We eventually decided on a Full Cut Prime Rib for 2 which comes with four sides! My dad chose a baked potato with EVERYTHING (Its his birthday) and asparagus. I chose anapotatoes and broccoli. They even split it onto two plates for us! The food came out quick and HOTT! We decided on a bottle of the Uppercut Cabernet to go along with dinner, recommended by our knowledgable server who presented, opened, and poured our bottle with finesse. She even gave us a brief history on the bottle!! Our server was very attentive and friendly throughout the meal, and we never felt neglected! AND the best part came as we were finishing up our prime rib!! Our server came and cleared our plates, only to return with a carrot cake topped with a glowing blue candle!! I had completely forgot to mention to the server that it was my dad's birthday, but the hostess had remembered and told the server!! The look on my dad's face was priceless (Especially since carrot cake is his FAVORITE!!) We were both pleasantly surprised, even though I tried to act like I had planned it!! The server said Happy Birthday and even wrote it again on the check!! My dad shared a few bites of his carrot cake, opened his present, and we finished the Uppercut. It ended up being one of the best birthdays I have ever spent with my dad. He is still talking about what a nice evening we had almost a week later! I never expect anything less from Bully's and I am never disappointed!!

I have been going to Bully's East for many years. The drinks are very cold and the food is worth coming back. The host and wait staff were very friendly and offered us many suggestions about the food. Our entire table ordered the prime rib and it was fresh, juicy and very flavorful. You must try the Blackened Prime Rib. This restaurant is a little hideaway just off the freeway.

My decision to go to Bully's was based on fond memories of gong there for prime rib with my parents. Recently, I decided to take my family and could not be more disappointed. I cannot count the number of times a waitress passed our table as we sat there with empty glasses. The wait for our food was outrageous. I kept telling my husband we should just walk out and I wish I had listened to my gut! However, I rationalized that the wait was based on my request for a well-done steak. When my food finally arrived, the steak was far from well-done and my garlic mashed potatoes were ice cold. It was the worst service I had ever experienced. I was not drinking that night and truly feel I would have to be tying one on in order to overlook the crappy service and food.

This place has a great atmosphere and super nice staff. The steaks are top quality and the best blue cheese dressing I have had. Some really good wines on the list and prices are really fair. This is a great value with great food in San Diego!!!!

We frequent this hidden jewel every time we are in San Diego! Their steaks and prime ribs and salads are all done to perfection! Try the Caesar with salmon - it's my favorite and always delicious, as is the grilled salmon dinner. Local hangout and bar favorite.

Although this review is about a recent dinner at Bully"s East it's worth mentioning my wife and I have been eating at Bully's since 1967 when they were in La Jolla and much more recently at the Del Mar location also. Once patrons at 26 we are now patrons nearing 70. I"m glad to say this is still a fun and satisfying restaurant with a very quiet, casual atmosphere and good solid salads and beef selections. The Bully Burger is a great burger and the roast beef is still a great piece of roast beef. The service has always been attentive and the drink and food orders brought promptly. We especially like it because they are very comfortable in letting us linger after dinner as catch we up with old, old San Diego friends (we always increase the normal tip % so the wait person doesn't suffer from lost table turnover.) This is another "not gourmet" place that is worth the price and consistently turns out satisfying meals that most will enjoy. To another 50 years!!!!!!!!Thanks, Bully's

The food offered was a variety . We had prime ribs and yellowtail, The food was cooked properly and the service was very good. It is a sports bar, but the food was easily a cut above the norm.

Great food, excellent price, great beer and service is the best. Cant go wrong, my all time favorite place, for any occasion

I visited Bully's for dinner and drinks with friends. We had a great time. Our steaks were perfect, and rinks we great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will defiantly go back, and recommend you should as well.

Breakfast was the theme for the day. This is a noted steak restaurant yet the breakfast was perfect. Service was first class by Alison. Plus, being the tourists we are, she was extremely helpful with info on local sites and amenities. Definitely a place for a return visit for dinner.

A small restaurant. Completely dark on the inside. Seems like a place from a long lost decade. You sit down, place your order. And afterwards you experience some of the most delicious food you've tasted. Specially if you ordered the prime rib. Onion soup was delicious as well. Definitely not a place for meetings, or special occasions. This is the place you go with friends to have a nice talk and good food.

I vacation in San Diego every year, and my big splurge is heading to Bully's. What I like about their prime rib is that they cook it to your liking. When I ask for medium, this is the only place I can go to that does it right. Atmosphere is very relaxed--you feel like you're at a nice restaurant, which has gotten lost in the expansion of chain restaurants.

It had been a few years since I had a chance to eat at Bully's again. My family was going to have a dinner out and we wanted to go somewhere with good prime rib. Bully's name came up and that's where we decided to go. We all had prime rib and we all thought it was great! Not only was the prime rib great, the whole meal was excellent from the appetizer to dessert. This might sound silly, but I often rate a steak/prime rib type restaurant by the way they serve a baked potato. These days too many restaurants can't do a decent baked potato. They don't cook the potato enough or the don't know how to dress it or they don't have enough condiments to make a good "loaded" baked potato. Bully's knows how to serve a baked potato. I only make it to San Diego once a year these days, but I will be going back to Bully's on my next visit.

Went with a group of friends while on a business trip. The food was really good and our server was very nice.

On a Sunday night - with reservations - we were seated at 5pm . . . 10 mintues later we place an order for drinks . . . another 15 mintues goes by before we are served our beers, and we place our order at that time especially since we had already been there 25 minutes before our cocktails were served to us. Over an hour had passed and we had to ask for our salads (which were served to us by the manager). At this time, the manager should have followed up since the waitress was obviously having a hard time. Another 25 mintues pass with promises of our food coming out shortly. We walked out when we realized our dinner orders never were placed in the computer . . . a full hour and a half after we arrived for our reserved dining time! Do NOT dine here.

Bully's worked us in at the last minute on Valentine's Day, a tough order for anyone. The food was incredible, as good a prime rib as you can find. My wife's salmon was perfect. The host/maitre d' was amazing, knew everyone, super-gracious, made you feel like his oldest friend. A wonderful evening, and we're coming back.

This is not Albie's. Not even close. The food came late, waitresses drop papers on your table? Seriously not what one would expect for the price of the restaurant. Potatoes taste like glue. Cold asparagus. Not my choice for fine dining.

This secluded restaurant offers great tasting steak dinner in a peaceful environment. I highly recommend this place for anniversaries and birthdays; not for kids because of the bar.

We stumbled across this lovely sports bar eatery to watch some sports with friends. The service was great! very friendly and efficient. Food was a big portion and delicious! we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and would come again!

how we injoyed our.. house favorite..prime rib dinners at ..' bully's east'. its been one of our favorite places to eat..since 1981. this week -again- it was perfect. look for their ..early bird and daily specials with...a ..cozy club feeling.

It is official!!! I am officially addicted to Bully's French dip sandwich and believe this is the best sandwich made since the grilled cheese sandwich was invented. You guys have perfected the French dip and I thank you a million times over.

This was a local haunt when I lived in San Diego. Not easy to get to unless you know where it is tucked into the hillside off Texas Street near I-8. The menu still has a nice selection of beef and BBQ, less seafood than before - but still good. A good bar crowd - probably very busy during active sporting events on TV - and good appetizers. ON.ly complaint - when steak fries get cold, they get soggy....ask wait staff to be sure fries are crisp and hot!

We hit Bully's East pretty much every time we are in San Diego especially to football or other big game days. Most recently we went for Thanksgiving dinner. You could order off of the regular menu or do the fixed traditional menu. Turkey, stuffing, green beans, gravy and pumpkin cheese cake for dessert. Not like mamas but it was tasty. I'm not a huge prime rib fan, which they are known for, but they have a lot of other red meat menu items that I love (sliders, meatballs). More typically we get breakfast/brunch or bar food during games. Everything is solid and the drinks are always spot on. You really can't do bad here and there's tons of seating and TVs so you can always spot the game.

7-09-2021 This place is a disaster as far as the food is concerned. WAY overpriced ($107 for x2!!!!! WTF) Plus tip, I shouldn't have even left the $10 I did leave, but it wasn't the waitress fault for the meals, although she wasn't as attentive as she should have been either-see below: The meals were; the steak or seafood, a house salad ie pile of lettuce, Soup of the day (or a $1.25 upgrade-French Onion, which was lasty but very small bowl). That's it. EVERYTHING else is a high priced extra. I had a 14oz $39!!!! New York steak; aprox 1" x 3" x 6-7" (Correctly cooked Med Rare, Poorly trimmed and Grisly on the ends, Good flavor but NOT tender) Cold $5.50 baked Potato, No containers of Sour Cream and/or Chives, just a small dollop of each on an non foil cover med size potato. Poorly cooked/soggy not crisp as described Brussel Sprouts. No Bread or small appetizer for before dinner. We waited 20 minutes after the small soup was brought, before the meal was served. It was a Friday, prime time of 8:30PM but the house was bately half full. No excuse for the slow service. My friend didn't get the baked potato he ordered with the meal and had to wait several minutes for the Cold one to arrive. His tiny portion of Broccoli was also cold. He said his 8oz $33 Prim Rib was "Good", not great. Server's were friendly (but inattentive) and Busboys were efficient. No one wore masks. Tables were cleaned after each customer(s). I will NEVER go there again and highly NOT recommend the place. My thoughts are Greedy Owner(s) trying to make up the lack of business due to Covid on extra high prices and poor quality food and kitchen help/chefs If it wasn't for the fact it was my friend's 60th birthday and I didn't want to make him uncomfortable or bummed out, I definitely would have complained to the manager. As it is, I am going to write this review on every wec site that will take it. Richard Langley La Mesa, Ca PS; on the other hand, if you want a GREAT meal(s), go to Mario's de La Mesa Mexican Restaurant. Terrific Hot large meals, cooked properly, Great (mild heat) Sausa and Hot Chips, and cost 2/3rds what this place charged for x2. I have never had a meal I didn't like, in the 15 years of eathing there. I consider it a treat every time I go!

Forty years ago, this place was a real treat for a special night out. I have been back a few times over the years, but after this lunch, I won't be returning! I ordered a salad that came with grilled steak sliced on top. The steak was so tough, the steak knife would not cut thru. It was a struggle to get a forkful and the greens were drowning in a vinegarette. I was not happy and no bread was served and it was $16!! Bully's aint what it used to be :(

The prime rib here is amazing. Everything else was just ok. The side booths are really small. Not large enough for four adults. We went on a Friday night at 7pm and there was no wait. Recommended based only on the prime rib.

one of my favorite places to celebrate special occasions, very wonderful ambiance and menu , cant say enough good things about this place

Food here is always consistently good. Service is top notch. Held a recent event here for 20. Derrick was easy to work with in making arrangements. Skyler did an outstanding job as our server. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Ribs were a big hit, so were the breakfast items. French dip was also nice and tender. This is one of those places that has been around a long time but has managed to maintain the quality of their food and service!!

This is another place I have driven by, dozens of times thinking I need to try that. Lots of friends have told me how good it is but I never stopped, finally today we met several friends for a celebration and I kept thinking...I cant believe I've never stopped here!!!!! We were just having drinks and appetizers with a good sized group. The servers made frequent passes at our tables and took care of several patrons at once. They were very efficient without bothering anyone, very helpful, and above all very friendly! I only had a couple of drinks but several at our table had appetizers and when they were brought out I was so tempted, but had to refrain.....they looked wonderful! This is a stand alone restaurant with a large parking area around it. It is kept clean and inside it is decorated like an old world chop house. Lots of local sports and entertainment items to look at. This place was great and I look forward to a full dinner in the near future!

Half sports bar, half restaurant....the food is excellent featuring BBQ and steaks with good portion sizes. The service was good. I had the ribs and they were great but didn't need as much sauce as the grilled meat was fantastic without the BBQ sauce. The only downside was the price.

5 words to say about Thursdays at Bully's--- BOTTLES OF WINE ---- HALF OFF!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know where else you can get a bottle of La Crema Chardonnay for around $20!!! Bully's East is my new Thursday hangout.............

he quality of the food and service exceeded our expectations. Prime rib was good as were the burgers. They had some interesting and delicious drinks specials (peppermint martini, etc).

I would say I have eaten at this fine restaurant about fifty times. It is perfectly located in the middle of mission valley. It has plenty of parking. The food is great. The bar is the real deal. Big, comfortable, with everything you could ask for. Great beer selection. Perfect martinis. Good wine choices. My number one pick though is the fabulous beef bones. You will want at least three. They are big and messy and cooked just right. Desert? Of course. You will enjoy your meal here for sure. CK

Iconic place for some of the best prime rib you will find in town. The burgers are great for lunch. The parking is a bit itght, but be patient and you will find some, so do not just drive away. The bar is a bit small, but you are there for the food.

Bully's is ultra old school with naugahyde covered booths and so dark when you enter that you feel you have entered a cave. The menu is primarily meat centric and focuses on Bully's famous prime rib. We chose to dine on a recent Wednesday for a long lunch. We were seated in one of the oval booths in the main dining room. The service was friendly in every way. On Wednesdays, Bully's features a lunch special of $15 for prime rib and sides which is a good deal. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and delicious. The baked potato was almost raw and hard as a rock. The prime rib was accompanied by a tiny amount of horseradish cream and some au jus. Also, I had a salad which was nothing more than the bagged salads that you find in the supermarket and came with an ultra runny blue cheese dressing. We never did receive any bread. We had nice cold martinis which were ample. However, we ordered a bottle of wine from the featured specials and waited 15 minutes to be told the wine was not in stock. Why not update the special list? We ended up with a lower value wine from their meager list. To summarize, the restaurant does serve good prime rib and has ample parking and seating. Service is dineresque but friendly. I would return only for the prime rib.

We have been going to Bullys (East, Del Mar, La Jolla) for more than 30 years, and will not return to Bully's East after our experience there tonight. We had reservations. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered- we had to ask 3 times for our drinks (ice teas), they did not arrive until our main course. The waitress brought my salad, but forgot another diner's salad, and we had to wait quite a while before she came back to our table to ask for it. We had to ask for bread (Bully's always serves bread) and it was cold and hard. I ordered a NY steak ($28.95) and it was burned to a crisp. I waited for 8 minutes (timed it) then gave up, I could not get anyone's attention. I started eating it and when the waitress came back, I advised her of the over cooked steak. She sent over a manager, a tall man in a Hawaiian shirt, who was aggressive and rude. "You asked for medium well" Yes, but this is brown throughout and black (burned) on the outside. "Well we cooked it the way you ordered it" and walked away.... The staff never refilled our drinks. We had fond memories of Bully's but now it is a tourist trap for people visiting San Diego, poor food and poor service. Very bright with too many tvs- more of a downscale sports bar then a quality steak house. Skip it.

I have been coming to Bully's for Prime Rib for 30+ years, it's just excellent! order about one level above as rare is very rare and medium rare is all red.

Innovative menu with fresh seafood, best prime rib in town, steaks and an excellent bar. Friendly service with longtime service staff. Popular hangout for NFL players.

This place is great they have red vinyl booths, low lighting, and great steaks. The service is okay but the food is excellent.

Always great food and service...A stay in San Diego is never complete without a stop by here. They also serve until late for those that want a bite after the show or special events.

I have been to Bully's a number of time and find the restaurant to serve good beef i.e. Bone In Ribeye, Prime Rib. I have also had the King Crab Legs and they were nice as well. Wedge salad with blue cheese is always good. They do get very busy on Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun. so plan for a wait but normally no more that 30 minutes and parking can be difficult. They have plenty of TV's and a full bar to make the wait a little more enjoyable. I rank them high mostly because of the Beef. The prices are a little lower that comparable food in the more popular areas but that works for me. The restaurant has a 70/80's Tavern feel and it works just fine. No black tie here but good food. I would not hesitate to go back

We went with friends who had been eating at Billyโs for the past 40+ years! We had never been! We really enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service! We had the ribeye, salmon, pork chops, and enchiladas - many vegetables and extra carbs! Drinks were great - thanks!!

From the wedge salad to the Prime rib, old school good...

I had another visit to Bullys this week, 3/28 Thursday. Was not wanting a big meal so tried the Lunch sandwich menu. The Club Sandwich is awesome. Unlike other places that give you the pieces cut up in sections, small with a toothpick through the middle, Bullys is served on two large pieces of white bread, cut in half and is loaded with meat and veggies. Huge sandwich, great flavor. My Steak fries on the side were terrific What made the visit the best was my Server. CASANDRA was really great, between her and LEXI my last visit, I do not think I cold get better service anywhere,. Both Servers pay attention to you, what you order, of your drink is running low and you need a refill and their Personality is perfect for the business. Very Friendly, knowledgable about their menu and go out of the way to make the visit a good one. I will for sure be coming back Owner Derek is a hands on owner, on the Property all the times I have ever been in, and walks around meeting the customers and making sure their visit is a good one

I really enjoy eating at Bully's East and I have been there many times. Prime Rib, Steak, Salmon, Lobster, great appetizers, soup and salad and excellent specials all are delish. This is a classic San Diego restaurant that has a old school atmosphere that you will love!!! Everyone is friendly and you will feel at home at Bully's East!!!! Good for Couples, Family and Friends!!!

I went to Bully's East a few weeks ago to meet some old work buddies for happy hour. We sat in the bar area and right away our cocktail waitress was handling our needs and hunger pains. I have been there quite a few times( Aztec alumni ) and if you get a chance order the prime rib app, along with the pork shank, you are set. They have a steal on the weekends, $5 breakfast and it will fill you up. Go Aztecs

I had the Salmon Bistro Salad and it was amazing. I usually order the prime rib and it is always good. Thought I would change it up and I was glad I did. Im looking forward to trying some of the other meals they offer. Great service and friendly people.

Everything was fantastic, the service and the food was just amazing. Good atmosphere also!! Was working in San Diego for a month and ate there 3 times, each time was just awesome!!!

Ordered the Prime Rib and it was one of the best in San Diego County. The portion was huge and took half home for another meal. My friend order the Swordfish and he said it was incredible plus the portion was very large. Service really good and friendly.

Early dinner with two friends. Great local watering hole with excellent food and service. This is the place to take your out of town visitors.

Food and service was top notch, excellent atmosphere comfortable friendly sports bar. Prime rib was fantastic, enjoyed it so much in 12 days we made multiple trips.

hubby and I were looking for a good, local restaurant. The hotel concierge recommended Bully's East. I'm glad we went despite some of the reviews. The food was excellent! I had the Horseradish Crusted Prime Rib. It was cooked to perfection and could almost be cut with the fork alone. Hubby had the Prime Rib and King Crab. He said it was great. We arrived on the early side (still on east coast time) and were originally given lunch menus - our waitress was happy to give us dinner menus. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Would go back again!

Prime rib had to be sent back as it was not hot enough. Cool prime rib is not for me. After being warmed, the prime rib was good. Not the best Iโve had but good.

This restaurant has been around for years. However, this meal was a disaster. The "bones" which are supposed to be prime rib were only fit for a dog. They were chewy, greasy and tasted awful. We asked for the sauce on the side, it was put on top. The answer by the waitress was "this is the way it comes." We took a few bones as leftovers because my husband could not eat them and I tried them. Never tasted anything that bad. A real rip off for $22. Service was also bad. Waitress did not understand anything we wanted right. Should not have left a tip, but will NOT go back.

This place is a great Bar with Steak and Burger place. The staff is friendly and fast and remembers your name. Come ready to eat because they feed you here. I love both the Horseradish Prime Rib and the Burgers and the bar is very good as well as the food service. It is a little dark and cubby holeish, read a little dated but fun. The parking is not adequate but it is worth the inconvenience.

I can't speak loudly enough about the prime rib offered at Bully's. They've been in business for about forty years and have been serving prime rib as theri main entree all that time. It is perfectly cooked to order and wil be one of the tastiest prime ribs you will ever eat. A full menu of steaks and other entrees is available and a full bar is ready to serve. The atmosphere is rustic and there are several TV's for sports viewing.

It had been maybe 20 years since I had been there and it won't be 20 days till my next visit! I forgot how good the service and food was, I love old school, traditional steak houses with amazing prime rib and cuts! My 16oz prime rib was cooked to perfection, can't wait to return go back and do it again!

Donโt want to travel too far in SD for good food? Just off Qualcomm Way is Bullyโs Esst. Great prime rib and all the fixings You canโt go wrong

Our visit visit to Bully's and it won't be the last. An absolutely wonderful bar atmosphere with excellent prime rib, large fresh and delicious salads with great drinks. A classic kind of setting which is so friendly and comfortable. From burgers to great main dishes and terrific desserts we will come back again! One of the better happy hour menus as well, but the service, food and drink is well worth a full dinner visit.

Some fun times at this sports bar with its active TVs. Pleasant, rapid service. Easy parking near freeway access. Prime rib was tender but tepid. Supposed to have a crust but came showered with bread crumbs. Interesting bread, but served frigid. Somewhat salty onion soup. But that excused trying out some of their varied beers and mixed drinks.

The prime rib at Bully's is the standard by which I assess other prime ribs...which is kind of sad since I live in Denver, which has great access to beef. However, the only prime rib in Denver that has come close to matching Bully's is my sister-in-law's, and the prime rib at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. There are other good items at Bully's, like burgers and even the occasional high brow version of loco moco, but the prime rib will never disappoint.

Most of us in San Diego have probably dined at Bully's. We used to have a location in La Jolla and ate there all the time, but that one was closed. I never think to drive to Del Mar or Mission Valley, but last night we did. It was so nice enjoying their wonderful prime rib again. I had forgotten how good it is! This is such a comfortable restaurant with great food! If you go for lunch, order the bully bones, you won't be sorry!

This is the best prime rib in all of San Diego. Service is wonderful, portions are large and the taste is to die for.

All I can say is Yummmm. I had the prime rib sandwich and it was fabulous. The service was great and my martini perfect. Relaxed atmosphere, but stylish. Great for a Friday evening treat after work.... They offer high end items all the way down the scale to hamburgers..but all quality and so tasty.

This is our second time in the past few years to go eat here while in town for a football game. The food is spectacular and the staff is very friendly. The progressive mimosas have been our fave thing about this restaurant. They start at only $1 per mimosa and each hour they get $1 more! We love the concept! Tons of big flat screen TV's with any game you could possibly want and also a very nice bar to sit at if you choose that over a table.

This place is great! They have a great happy hour 4:30-7, then 10-midnight. Most of the apps are half off and the drinks are cheap too! My buddies and I enjoy hitting it up after a long day of golf. The service is really good too. There are a bunch of cute girls that work there, so it makes dining there even better! Bully's is known for their prime rib. I love the prime rib bits for an appetizer and the seared ahi is so good too. They always have sports on the t.v.'s which gives the place a cool atmosphere. If you haven't been, then what are you waiting for?!?!

Service was slow, but you can't beat their meat. We ate in the bar and had the prime rib nibblers, yum. The brie was also very tasty. My friends had the fish tacos and the kitchen accommodated them and fixed them w/o breading. Happy hour pricing is a good deal.

No Stars! Just had the worst dinner experience of my life and felt compelled to write this to warn anyone else who may be looking to eat here. I rarely write a review. I understand that at times a bad meal will get out of the kitchen but this went beyond that to the extreme! Had reservations for 10. Table was ready when we arrived. Waitress took our drink order and arrived shortly with the drinks and stale bread for the table. One hour later, two small appetizers arrived. Two hours and twenty minutes later our food arrived! Four of the entrรฉes were edible! FOUR of 10! One prime rib was cold, because it wasn't even cooked! Several other steaks though cooked were way underdone. Two of us didn't bother sending it back after that long wait. Four were sent back to fix. Two came back edible. The other two had been cooked so bad there was a charcoal crust on them. This was all brought to the managers attention. You'd think he'd ensure the second round was perfect. Worst experience ever!!! Meal was comped but you'd have to pay me to return! Normally we would have left but we hadn't seen each other for a year and the conversation was good. My McDonald's meal on the way home was a blessing. Can't believe I just said that! I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out and tell me I'd been punked!

This little gem is nestled into a hidden spot at the end of Texas Street right before you get to the 8 freeway in San Diego. From the street, you don't even know it exists... and I am so glad that someone talked me into going because it is a diamond in the rough. Kind of a secret neighborhood spot that only the cool kids know about. It is an old fashioned tavern/steakhouse with the charm and character you would expect.... but then none of the stuffiness and attitude that sometimes comes with those types of places. The staff are warm, friendly, easy-going, relaxed and almost feel like they are good friends who you have just come over to visit with. That is rare in this day and age and a thing that I would say is very, very sought after with people like me who have a little bit of a social anxiety issue... I have always felt like a welcomed guest and a close friend whenever I dine here. It is pretty standard for a steakhouse... you have different cuts, different sides... a nice offering of wines and beers on draft... I know, I know... you hear "Standard" and you think "boring, unimaginative, without character..." Nope. The meals are wonderful and very well done... I have no complaints and only positive things to say. What I said in the title however is the truth... So what you have a great steak and exceptional service? What are you going to remember about a place years later? It isn't going to be the steak or your servers name... it is going to be the experience... and this place is so full of character, personality and charm, you need to check it out. I have dined here 6 times... usually for a Guys Night Out... and every time it has been a night to remember. Yes, you will drop a little cash... but you are in a Steakhouse!! Let your hair down a little.. Relax... Enjoy the ride... this isn't a smart car designed to get you there economically, or a racing car designed to get you there quickly with precision... or even a monster truck that is there for bragging rights and muscle... this is a town car experience... a smooth, luxurious ride that is more about the journey than the destination. Take your time. Savor each bite. Enjoy the comfortable seating. Enjoy the time with friends and family... this place is different and allows you to really enjoy your experience.

We received an ad special in the mail about their three course dinner for two with a huge prime rib. What they don't tell you in the ad is that it's not really a three course dinner, because you have to share much of it. Also, the ad doesn't tell you that the quoted price is not totally accurate, because they add a sneaky 3% surcharge. Sounds like those dishonest "resort fees" at hotels.

The service was good and quick, but the food and drink left much to be desired. I thought my steak was a bit bland and my drink tasted as if it had been pre-made and poured out of a pitcher (I ordered a flavored martini).

First time back to Bully's in over a decade. Should have stuck with the prime rib as neither me or my wife enjoyed our entrees. My Chorizo meatloaf was o.k. but it was topped with an unexpected, unadvertised and unwanted BBQ sauce. My wife's Yellowtail was over-cooked and dry and the bread was neither fresh or warm. The service was fine and the prices were reasonable.

Probably one of the best meals we ever had. Not only was the meat itself phenomenal but it was cooked to perfection. The side order of Anna potatoes was sooooo good! I had the prime rib my husband had a New York strip & my daughter had the Bully burger. The portions are large so there is definitely leftovers. The staff is so attentive & itโs a fun โPubโ atmosphere-a lot better then the usual bar with food. We hadnโt been back in years and are asking ourselves why....

Went on Motherโs Day after several years absence and found the restaurant hasnโt changed much. Food still above average, but being seated in the bar area was not optimal. Rather noisy and difficult to get attention of our served.

I decided to go with a steak from this establishment with a side baked potato and salad. The steak was ordered medium rare and when it arrived it seems the way they decided to handle it was to charcoal the outside giving a hard crusty burnt flavor needing copious amounts of steak sauce to combat. The baked potato was way over done the only good thing was the salad. Now to be fair there were a lot of people but any kitchen should be prepared to handle that many when they know ahead of time which they did. My vote .... find a better place, at best this place would be hit or miss on food quality. The people however were very nice.

Everything seems nearly the same my previous visits but the service this time was poor. The waitress seemed distracted by her other tables. Refills of water took about ten minutes after we asked. I had told my companion earlier in the day about them having a great French Dip. She ordered it and the meat for the French Dip, although tasty, was tough and stringy.

Part sports bar part steakhouse/pub. This place is a great little gem hidding next to the freeway. The locals know it but if you blink you'll miss it. We went for lunch, patty melt and chicken sandwich, both with fries. Portions are generous and it was all we could do to finish, but by God we did. Great food, good beer and in and out in less than an hour - perfect. I highly recommend it.

They have great steak and shrimp. Baby back ribs are awesome. They usually have dinner specials that include salad and dessert. The food is really country style and just delicious. My mom loves their prime rib.

Once a frequent patron of the Bully's Del Mar spot, I recently decided to give 'Bully's East' a try. Good call! This locale features a fantastic Weekend Brunch Special, which the other locale does not; I tried the 'Banana's Foster French Toast' - to absolutely die for!! Definitely not your run-of-the -mill generic, stupid preparation seen at every restaurant this side of the Continental Divide! The plate came out w/ scrumptious halved banana slices drizzled in carmelized Brulee sauce over the toast - which had been rolled in crunchy granola! UNbelievable medely of textures......and under 10.00 There are about (3) other interesting French Toast features, which you can decide to try one by one every visit!! The room atmosphere is lively and has a small 'clubby' patronage which was very appealing. The noise level likely raises during Dinner & Happy Hour but I can certainly see why they've got such a loyal following. All Menu items looked equally delicious as well. Excellant service. Skip the Del Mar Bully's and "head East"!

Best Prime Rib Iโve had in a long time. I ordered mine blackened which had some extra spices and finished on the grill, delicious. My husband ordered a Ribeye which was one of the specials of the night, and was equally delicious. Dinners come with two sides and bread.

This is one of my go-to places in San Diego. The food and service are always top-notch! I've had several dishes there and they were all excellent.

There were twelve of us for a birthday dinner. Most of our steaks arrived cold, and one guest got the wrong order. About 1.5 hours from order taken to service, even tho the restaurant was not very busy. Maybe our (reserved) table of twelve threw tgem off? My salad was cold and crisp, and everyone seemed to be mildly pleased with their meal. Waitress was friendly and service made up for shortcomings. I would try this place again.

Classic old fashioned pub and restaurant, with dark paneling and leather chairs, provides a comfortable place for meeting with friends and family. Happy hour prices are 50% off, and thriving s are generous. Fish tacos, fried artichoke hearts and Korean spicy pork lettuce wraps were superb.

native san diegans have loved this place forever. i recommend to all my friends who want great food, atmosphere, and service, to come to bullys. my lunch favorite is what i am having at the time. also visit the del mar location......you will not be disappointed. special occasions are always accomodating .

Whenever I am in San Diego on business I always try to have at least one meal at Bully's. There prime rib is legendary. This trip the food and the service was a good as I expected.

Family of 4 with 2 teenagers who love steak. We enjoyed an Excellent meal. The prime rib was by far the best. The atmosphere is an old super club feel which my family enjoys. Highly recommend.

What a great place! Can't beAt the ambiance. Been here with my wife and also buddies for a brew. They have great specials and the folks working are always friendly. Food is wonderful too!

I've been enjoying bullys prime rib for years, and just recently I tried the salmon, prepared with a horseradish crust. Horseradish is not just for prime rib! It was crispy and flavorful, and not the least bit fishy which is common with salmon. My friend chose crab legs they were big fat legs served with lemon and hot melted butter. She was pleased that they were pre-sliced to aid in the cracking:) I was glad I tried something new..it was a delicious experience as always at bullys!

VALUE WAS GREAT - $25.00 - Turkey (lots of white/dark meat), stuffing, mashed potatoes, tablespoon of cranberries, and green beans were great; HOWEVER, at our 3:30 reservation they informed us that they didn't have yams or sweet potato and offered us RICE PUDDING (what's with a sweet during dinner??), and since we couldn't make substitutions; i.e. broccoli, corn, etc. it was too sweet to eat as part of the dinner. Took home and ate as a desert. The other disappointment was that the Pumpkin pie cheesecake/moose was warm and should have been served chilled - took home and ate as desert. All in all, since they indicated there were NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED, Bully's should have been more accommodating allowing substitutions of the rice pudding

We had this restaurant recommended to us by a local resident and you know, the locals know where to go! So off we went and had a great time. The food was excellent and the wait staff great. My husband and I both had the prime rib with mashed potatoes and it was delicious! Very down home. We went here on our last night in California and would certainly return if we are ever in town again. It was easy to find and very relaxing atmosphere. Thanks for having us!

Great dinner if you want a great steak and pleasant atmosphere. Staff tuned us in to the game we wanted to see while we dined.

Bully's East was busier than I thought and it was because it was a Saturday and it was also St. Patrick's Day. Lots of people were out celebrating all around the hotels and restaurants. Because of this, it took longer than I expected for our meals to arrive, but we were never left alone or forgotten with quick drink refills and bread/butter brought to the table. I had the half rack of the Baby Back Pork ribs which was very good. I had decided earlier that since I was eating all day, I wouldn't make a pig of myself at dinner. For $15.95, however, I expected a bit more of the tasty ribs. For $6 more, I could have gotten the full rack. My wife ordered the Blackened Prime Rib Pasta for $16.95. She thought that the black pepper linguine was a bit too strong in flavor and ate only about a 1/3 of the pasta. I got to taste some of her prime rib and I thought it was good. Overall I gave Bully's East 4 stars mainly due to the excellent customer service we got. Our server Elise was there every step of the way for us the entire night. Other reviews cited foul smells and filthy booths. If there were any, I didn't see it and I thought the men's restroom was very clean. 3 stars for food/prices and 5 for customer service which brought my rating to 4 stars overall.

I went here for dinner on March 3. I ordered the jambalaya and it was delicious. With every bite you could taste either the sausage or the shrimp. The portions were large and filling. I noticed the nice looking rustic bar and I had to go back the next day for happy hour. They have a great happy hour that was nice on the wallet. Will definitely be back when I am in San Diego again.

Good drinks and great steaks. Delicious meal, good casual atmosphere and good service.

Good food. Kinda pricey. Good place to watch sports as they have plenty of televisions. Prime rib is pretty good.

This was a really nice dining experience. My husband and I ate a late lunch so it was not busy. It is very attractive inside with red banquettes in several cozy rooms. The bar area looked very fun yet still elegant. I make it sound rather fancy but is very casual with tvs on mute throuhout. We shared a club which include two sides. We chose salad and steak fries and it all was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great selection, ambiance and value. We had prime rib and ribs and chicken and both were great. The side of mac and cheese was creamy and delicious with a buttery crumb topping! Service was quick and friendly. Was packed at 9p but is big enough that the wait wasn't too long. Nice seating in bar area while you wait. Go if you are staying near Mission Valley!

I just wanted a little snack. Little did I know that the special tacos night was so substantial at an incredibly low price. I had a vodka tonic, very well made and quite tasty for starters. The Tacos special I ordered was 1 Carnitas Taco and one fried fish taco. Both were quite substantial, very tasty and filling. For a mere $14, I had a wonderful dinner and walked away feeling good. Can't wait to go back to Bully's East.

Last Thursday my husband and I chose to spend our second anniversary at Bully's East. We arrived, just in time to enjoy happy hour before our dinner reservation. The atmosphere was dim and cozy. There was a lot of sports memorabilia, it was neat to see little pieces of history throughout the restaurant. There were flat-screens everywhere, it would be a great place to watch sports events. We ordered: steamed clams, cheesy jalapeno bread and a shrimp cocktail from a cute, little blonde cocktail waitress. The clams were fresh and there were a lot of them, I really enjoyed the garlic broth that they were served in. The jalapeno cheesy bread was really good but slightly spicy, a little bit of ranch helped to balance it out. The shrimp cocktail came with five huge shrimp and a delicious horseradish cocktail sauce. For drinks we had me: an antioxidant-a fruity, refreshing martini, my husband: a Belvedere martini up, extra dirty, with two olives. By the time that we sat down for dinner we were already half-full. We were greeted by a sweet young lady named Amy, She told us great news, we had come in on a good night because it was "wine therapy Thursday" which meant that all of the bottles of wine on the menu were half priced. I flipped the menu over and was surprised to see that they had my favorite wine, Uppercut Cabernet Sauvignon. We ordered a bottle and then took a few minutes to decide on dinner. I ordered the 16oz bone-in Ribeye, medium rare with grilled onions and a large side of sauteed mushrooms for my husband and I to share. For sides I went with the classic, fully loaded baked potato and a wedge salad to start with. The wedge salad was amazing, the Bleu cheese dressing was nice and chunky, like I like it. My husband ordered a full-cut 22oz piece of Bully's famous prime-rib.....which was not the biggest option that they offer! They have a 38oz beast cut, now that's a lot of meat! My hubby got his meat cooked rare and chose garlic mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus for his sides. He asked the waitress for a side of raw horseradish with his dinner. He was blown away when the waitress told him that he could also add a delicious horseradish crust to his prime-rib if he wanted to. His eyes lit up because he loves spicy food. :) The Ribeye was one of the most flavorful steaks that I have had in a really long time. I could not finish all of it and plus I wanted to save room for dessert so I boxed it up so that I could have steak and eggs in the morning. Steak and eggs, always starts my day off right. My husbands prime-rib was extremely tender and flavorful. There is no other prime-rib like this in San Diego. The horseradish crust was a brilliant, flaky complement to the meat. Bully's has definitely perfected their recipes over the past 40 years! For dessert, yes, believe it or not we still had room for dessert! We ordered a creme brulee and a pint sundae. The creme brulee was heavenly, creamy. The pint sundae was everything that a woman could ask for in a dessert: lots of vanilla ice-cream, banana and pineapple pieces, miniature brownies, lots of fudge and to die for salted caramel. It was the perfect ending, to a perfect night. The service was extremely efficient and enjoyable, the food was excellent. This will hopefully be the beginning of a new Thursday night ritual for me and my husband.

For the last 15 years I have made a habit of eating at this restaurant everytime I visited my mother in law in San Diego, which usually happens only once or twice a year, because I found their food, and particularly the prime rib, among the best I ever ate. Therefore it could be guessed how much I was looking forward to have my lunch there on New Year's Eve together with my family. However our lunch was marred by a series of mishaps that dampened significantly my enthusiasm for this restaurant, and left me and my wife very disappointed and doubtful about dining there ever again. From the beginning, we were seated at a table that had no silverware. We thought the server would bring it out soon, but it didn't happen even after our orders for drinks and food were taken. Only when the appetizers arrived we politely notified our server, which promptly took away the napkins and silverware from the empty table next to ours and brought it over. Another disappointment came when we looked at the menu, and found out that my wife's favorite item (prime rib melt) was not on it. We asked why it wasn't available anymore, and we were told that they had a special menu just for New Year's Eve and not all the usual items were on it. I believed their explanation, and my wife agreed to order something else instead, until I noticed a small menu holder on the table and started flipping through its pages where I found a "bar menu" on which the "prime rib melt" was listed among other items available at the bar. I went to another lady who appeared to be the service manager (servers didn't wear name tags, so I couldn't identify who did what) and asked why one of their dishes could be available at the bar but not at a table, and if they could change my wife's order. The lady was adamant about the unavailability of the dish, and alleged that the staff hadn't had the time to update the little menus on the tables. Finally our food arrives, but the prime rib steak that my wife ordered to be cooked "medium rare" could have been more correctly defined "very well done", therefore she had to send it back and have it redone. All in all, we perceived a definite shrinking in the number of items on the menu and in the quality of customer service, compared to our previous visits. We weren't offered any complimentary bread and butter, and the refills of our sodas had to be asked for. Not the end of the world, but a far cry from the level of service we enjoyed before.

I went there for dinner with my family, so there were four of us in total. We ordered some stuff mushrooms from the appetizer menu and a few drinks since we got there in the last 10 minutes of happy hour. The drinks came, and then my mom ordered a fillet mignon extremely rare, stressing it repeatedly and the waitress said no problem. I ordered the bone in ribeye, medium rare. My two sisters just ordered appetizers as their meal. The stuffed mushroom appetizers never arrived before the meal so we remind the waitress. The size of the filet mignon cut of meat that arrived was great, but it was cooked medium, so it had to be sent back. My ribeye was obviously a lower quality cut of meat and slightly over cooked but I didnโt bother sending it back hoping the flavor would make up for it but unfortunately was disappointed there too, but the French onion soup I got as my side was excellent. One of my sisters had ordered the triple mac & cheese with Greer cheddar and something else but she said it seemed like there was only one she isnโt. It was a cheap American so she was not very happy with it. meanwhile the stuff mushrooms has still not arrived. My mothers filet mignon came back and this was again another great cut of meat, but this time cooked correctly and she was very happy with it. Unfortunately, she couldnโt eat too much of it because sheโs already eaten a potato when the first steak arrived and now is no longer very hungry. Guess what the stuffed mushrooms finally arrived and they were lousy. Three of us tried them, and none of us liked them. I ordered the peanut butter mousse pie for dessert which was excellent. One of my sisters ordered the mud pie for dessert but the ice cream was crystallized as if it had been refrozen so she wasnโt very happy about that either. The waitress disappeared for long periods of time we had to ask for to go box for the steak and had to wait to find someone to ask for the check finally. I donโt know if our waitress was new or they just had her stretched too thin, she was friendly, but constantly apologizing because of all the problems. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone as it is very pricey, and the food does not at least merit the price.

First ate here more than 30 years ago. On a recent visit our friends suggested this place so we went. We were not disappointed. Excellent prime rib

I know the Bully,s from 1990 the one use to be in La jolla BLV, and this past week I was in Vacations in SD and found the one in the East!! I stope one day whit my family to have the Prim Rib and next a las day I ask them weare to go and all say Bully,s! And Is the same as good 22 years a go!!

The rest of the menu is great as well. A good selection of the Appitizer menu is half off Mon-Friday 4-6:30. Good happy hour cocktail menu to choose from. I stop in at least once when I am staying in the area. Off the appitizer menu we had the meat balls, seared Ahi, the sliders and a side salad. Actually too much food for 2. All was delicious. I have been there for their main courses. Again everything was superb.

We come here for their happy hour specials which are delicious!!! The jumbo shrimp cocktail and fish tacos hit the spot everytime. The portions exceed my expectations and the atmosphere is worth the experience. It's restaurants like Bully's East that make San Diego the classy city that it is.

Hands down, this is a 5-star restaurant! (I wish I could give them 10!) I've been to Bully's East quite a few times in the last few years, and their customer service & food have always been BEYOND excellent! I've dressed anywhere from casual (t-shirt/jeans) to business casual to full-blown formal & they always treat me like a VIP! I took my family here for their first time this past weekend and it made my previous visits pale in comparison! The PRIME RIB was fork tender, not once did my knife hit the plate! Another thing I noticed was that any time my coke reached about halfway in my glass, another one would be served right away without me EVER asking for more...WOW! People, I swear, you have to come here, even just once, in your lifetime to see what a great place Bully's' East is. They have delicious food paired with amazingly exceptional customer service. What more can you ask for?!

The prime rib is excellent. It is expensive but it's hard to find a place with good service and good food which this place has. The deserts are good, too. It has a lot of tvs for sports, too.

No better place to celebrate your birthday. The food, selection, drinks and service were all outstanding.

I would go back here. This is a hearty, warm, inviting place. It's not what you would call upscale at all but the food is good for the money, the servers are very nice. The manager is a wonderful woman who made us feel very welcomed when we visited during restaurant week (I believe they offer 3 courses for either $30 or maybe $20?). Anyway, it was raining and cold the night we went, and this place was warm, friendly, and served us a hot meal that tasted good. They had lamb shank that was falling off the bone. They have plenty of private parking. It sort of reminded me of a German restaurant for some reason.

I have never had anything short of a amazing meal here at Bully's! They are truly a landmark of San Diego and have made several family occasions a dinner blast. Amazing atmosphere, phenomenal cuisine and the staff is great. We usually come here for the big games and payperview fights they usually put on for free. I wish nothing but the best for you guys and your establishment. Cheers!!

Off the tourists' track in Mission Valley, Bully's has a marvelous Happy Hour. Led by the unreal Manila Clams AND the Basil Pomme Frites, unexpectedly great, inexpensive morsels keep the spirits up. Add in good drink prices, this has become the favorite happy hour place for my social group. Next to try is what made this a favorite steak house in San Diego.

A little busy, took some time to get our food. I didn't care for the salad that came with the meal. The kitchen was backed up due to a party of 30 I feel like they should have been prepared to manage that better though.

Prime rib lunch sandwich with 2 side for less that $15...should have wrapped up half of the sandwich for later as it was huge! What a deal and great atmosphere!

Great prime rib dinner. Good drink prices at Happy Hour. Easy to get to from any hotel on Hotel Circle.

My husband and I ate here for dinner today. The food was delicious, salad and veggies very fresh. Some would call the decor dated but it reminds me of a pub so we enjoyed it. The only complaint was the hostess' attire. When we walked in I thought we had accidentally gone to a strip joint because I could see her buttcheeks falling out of her "skirt"; however, the waitresses were in tasteful attire and excelled in their jobs.

When in CA this is a must for old fashioned environment and service. Prime rib and burgers consistently good. Friendly wait staff at all. This was Father's Day and it has been a destination for many special occasions. Seafood selections while limited are also always good.

This restaurant is nothing fancy. A comfortable place with dark wood paneling and leather chairs. Just like "old times" when there was no hype to a restaurant, just a good bar with hearty steaks and lobster! The happy hour prices are great for select drinks, including old fashions, Moscow mules, and dirty martinis; wine and beer. There are TVs in the bar area if you want to catch a game. Although, I imagine it would be crowded during game time as the space is small. In the dining room we sat at a very nice booth. I had prime rib, my daughters had steal salads. All were excellent. I could have done without the panko horseradish crust, though. It was bland and had no crunch and really no horseradish taste. I recommend Bully's for good, basic prime rib, steak, and seafood!

Nice menu, good prices, good service, good food. These characteristics do describe Bully's East. The atmosphere is pub-like with lots of wood and lots of TVs. It isn't too noisy to hear your friends talk like some places. The menu is full of solid choices with sandwiches and soup and salad to add depth to the list of entrees and specials. Portions are generous and tasty. The Prime Rib Dip may be unbeatable! Be prepared for a cool room because the air conditioner is set for peak temperatures - bring a jacket if need be, but don't avoid this place.

A friend and I went here because I wanted a steak. I ordered the bone in rib eye and asked the waitress if it were seasoned. She stated it came blackened and I explained I didn't want mine blackened, no seasoning, and medium +. When it arrived it was charred beyond edibility. I notified the waitress and she took the steak back only to return to me with the excuse from the "chef" that it is that way because it is cooked on a grill. Aren't all steaks cooked on a grill? I explained that they needed to move the steak while it's cooking if the grill flares up, not just let the fire ruin the steak and she returned with a new statement from the chef stating that all the steaks would be cooked that way on a grill and asked if I wanted something else. I said no, personally I just wanted the Kingsford briquette taste out of my mouth. Then my friend had the salmon, and discovered half way through that it was raw. I asked the waitress to get the manager and after explaining to the manager what had happened she stated the same thing, it's because it's cooked on a grill. I didn't tell her that I've grilled out longer than she's been alive . She then said that all their steaks are on point and that they are known for their prime rib and she wasn't going to argue with me... news flash Ms. Manager, prime rib isn't grilled, it's baked. She was kind enough to offer not to charge me for the food... wow what a bonus! I've had better steaks at lower class places and won't be back.

We have enjoyed the food and ambience for many years. However we had a very poor experience about a year ago regarding the portion size of the prime rib for two. Managers response can best described as haughty " Tough that is what it is." However one in our party convinced us to go back recently. Service was fine. Menu tweaked with substantily higher prices. Food ok. Wish we could go back to the recent past. Something has changed Mnm

This was a place which had great food. Not the usual food for a sports bar type restaurant. The house margarita was like the ones on the beach in Nuevo Vallarta. Yummy. Service was good.

Stopped here on the way back to AZ after a weekend in S.D. Had good service and very good sandwiches. Nice sports bar with dining room that is quieter.

Bully's is famous for its prime rib, and for a good reason - their prime rib is excellent. The staff was friendly, restaurant clean, and it had a good vibe. Quite nice. If you're in San Diego staying on or around Hotel Circle, it's a convenient place for dinner.

Casual to just above casual local spot with great steaks and service! I found this spot via a local friend several years ago, it's a must eat stop EVERY time I'm back in the area. I've never had a less than stellar meal here.

If you love a good steakhouse Bully's is the place to go! This establishment has been around for 40 years, family owned & has always been a reputable place. I came in for lunch with a couple business partners and were happy to not only be greeted right away by their friendly attractive hostess (which I must add, so was our server), but also a handshake from the manager. It was a wednesday & our server let us know that every wednesday, all day, is their 11oz prime special that came w fries, a salad, AND dessert for only $15.95! So much food and everything was really good. Coming from a family who has been in the business for the past 60 years here in San Diego, I know that this is one of the last places to find the perfect cut of aged prime rib (they way it should be done!), and at a reasonable price. Needless to say, my partners and I left full and satisfied. Our server also informed us of their weekend 'Game Day' brunch specials. Great service, atmosphere, & food. Definitely coming back to Bully's to cheer on my team. GO CHARGERS!!!!

Eat here. I have been coming here my whole life and I still love it. Once in a while the service ignores you but otherwise it is great. Eat the beef bones every chance you get. Fish tacos are solid. All of the meat is good. Classic bar. CK

Bully's looks more bar than restaurant. But do not be deceived. It is a fantastic steak restaurant. I had the best ribeye I have had in a long time. There were many other delicious things on the menu. Service was friendly. Had to wait a bit because they were so busy. But it as worth it

Good old fashioned type steak house. Loved the 8oz filet and asparagus. I also enjoyed this place bc it reminded me of restaurants I would go to years ago that were so good and you didnt get that cookie cutter feel. Will visit again .

Small, tough parking, busy - there is a reason for it. The locals are there everyday, the bar tenders are very friendly, especially one named "Stretch" who is a sports buff and the food is very generous, cooked perfectly every time and serving sizes to full you up. Tucked away on a hill over looking Charger Stadium, easy off and on Fwy in Mission Valley. Try it and you will be back every time you visit San Diego.

Had an awesome dinner with friends. We have not lived in SD since 2010, and not been to Bully's since then and frequently went there before. Great as always! Excellent French onion soups, specials, steaks, prime rib, sides such as Brussels sprouts and sautรฉed asparagus.

I stop in this place whenever I stay in the area. A fabulous step back in time. The Pork Pot Roast was delicuous with apple cider, marsala, cinnamon and apples with 2 sides $14.00 . The leftovers tasted even better the next day. The Meatloaf with chorizo and bacon also with 2 sides $13.00.The French onion soup was spot on. Cocktails were reasonably priced as well. Check out their happy hour/ early bird specials and exellent appitizers menu!

San Diegoโs Mission Valley offers accommodations and activities varied and accessible. Restaurants are numerous and on Camino Del Rio South at Texas Street, is prime angus steak and a menu that will please the varied palate. This is one restaurant that San Diegans frequent and recommend to friends and visitors.

I had not been to Bully's for years so I went for an early Sunday prime rib dinner. Parking was not a problem for my 5 pm reservation. I was seated quickly in a booth. They were a bit busy but my server quickly took my drink order, a Sazerac that was just okay. I ordered the 8oz prime rib dinner with the house salad and a baked potato. While Bully's has enjoyed a reputation for prime rib I found it to have very little flavor. It was tender and cooked medium rare but it needed more spices when cooked. It was good but not great. The salad was okay cold and crisp and the baked potato was fine. This is not a repeat for me.

Have been eating here now for several months The ONLY Steakhouse in San Diego County I eat at that cooks My Steak Medium Rare every single time, Not Ruth Chris', Not Donavan's, Outback, Black Angus no one gets it right every single time, the others U usually have to "order u" to get my steak right, Not Bully's Perfect every time. Two great hosts I have experienced in my Visits, WHITNEY and MARISA are super with their customer skill's and personality is a 100. Two Great servers you should always ask for , DENISE is the best, Have asked for her for years because of her great personality and charm, her attention to detail always get the order right, check on you often service. and ALYSSA is new to me but she is right there with DENISE DEREK one of the Co Owners walks around to make sure everything is running right, he talks to customers,m last visit even came out to Thank Me for a letter I had sent him GREAT service One of the busser's also was doing a great job ANDREW was clearing off dishes, cleaning, asking customers if they needed refills when the Server was busy.,IN my case I was done, went to the restroom and he had cleaned my table and had an iced tea waiting for me when I came out. Was going home but felt I had to drink it. And hey folks it is OK to tip the busser also. This kind of service deserves it

This place just keeps on truckin'. Very traditional steak and seafood. Great Prime Rib. REasonable prices. Go early for specials.

What can you say about a classic ? Simply one of the best eats in San Diego. From the laid back atmosphere to the quick service...this place is Classic . They just closed the Del Mar location . Excellent food..a must for Steak lovers.

Conveniently located near the Mission Valley Marriott. Able to handle large crowds. Lots of televisions. Noisy, but very friendly. You have to like fried food, however.

We had a great time at Bully's the food was great, I recommend the prime rib

While looking for a place for dinner, I was going to turn around to cross the highway here. Saw the outside, said they should have the olympics on with all their TVs. Went on a Sunday night. If we could have watched the olympics, we would have been happy. But the food was amazing. I had coconut macadamia nut crusted skewers and they were amazing. Not at all what I expected from the menu. My mom ordered their Bully Burger, which was huge and delicious. Came with two sides which were generous portions. We choose to share the fries and side salad. More than enough food and we both took some home.

Simply cant go wrong with this choice, best prime rib in San Diego, great beer selection, great place to catch a game, enjoy dinner with family, couple or self, try the Pozole on Saturdays the best for sure, try this place is you havenยดt before you will keep coming back like we have for the past fifteen years

Well known for it's prime rib, the rest of the menu is exciting as well. Try the prime dip sandwich with a bowl of French onion soup or even the clam chowder...

I went on line to make a reservation for Valentine's Day & right on the front page No Reservation for parties less than 6. So the 2 of us walk in & are hit with do you have a reservation. We walked in before 4:30 PM & observered several empty tables. I explained about the web page saying no reservation needed for parties less than 6 & was told sorry, we need to change that info. We were offered to sit in the bar area at a large table with other unknown guests. We declined & left. We will not be back. By the way Hunters Steak House on west I-8 has an excellant Prime Rib.

Bully's is a local establishment that has been around for quite some time. The food is average and over priced. Service leaves a lot to be desired. The inside decor is very drab and dark, limited parking. Happy Hour menu available with drink specials. We like the prime rib and the manila clams other than that, not much good to say.

The food is average, the service is good, and the location is okay. There is nothing special about this place, other than you'll get the exact type of American bar food that you'd expect from any other restaurant like it. The service is very friendly, which is a plus, but this isn't a place I'd go out of the way to find.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night. It was down the street from my hotel so it was convenient. It wasn't overly crowded and i was seated immediately in a comfortable circular booth. The atmosphere was very comfortable. The lighting was dim and music payed quietly in the background. The wait staff responded quickly. I ordered fried calamari for an appetizer. It came fairly quickly. It was petty good. I ordered the fish and chips with a salad for my main dish. The meal was satisfying and very filling. My server was attentive and as friendly as could be. She brought my courses out as soon as I was ready for them. My overall experience was very good.

We have always liked Bully's for the Prime Rib and French Onion Soup...both are good choices here. They have recently changed their menu offerings (oh, by the way, the menus are printed on oversized paper, food-splotched and wrinkled...kinda not-so-classy if you ask me) and on our last 2 visits we decided to try something new. The Pork Pot Roast was just so-so, the Babyback Ribs were waaaaay overdone but the MAJOR FAIL was the Bistro Salad! It was COOKED! No where on the menu is it hinted that this is a bowl of sauteed greens with peppers and onions drenched in balsamic juice (I had to slide a knife under the edge of the bowl to let the dressing run off to the side.) Worst ''salad' I have ever eaten. ...or should I say "never" eaten...With all the good places to eat in San Diego,, we probably won't go back to Bully's.

A local favorite because it's good! Has been good for as long as I can remember like 50 years? Try it for lunch or dinner. Go mild or wild, either way you should be a happy camper.
Good Food with Good Service
It had been many years since I went to Bully's East. This time it was for a business lunch. Not too busy for lunch and sitting in the side dining area allowed a business conversation. The waitress was quickly to us and allowed time for determining our meal. It was delivered quickly in spite of a fair size crowd at the noon hour. I had the prime rib sandwich with steak fries and corn "off the cob". Yep, it was cut off the cob, not the can stuff. My sandwich was hot and cooked exactly as I requested. It came with the au jus on the side with creamed horseradish. Tender and well flavored. My business partner had the French dip and a cup of beef vegetable soup. His review was that they were tasty and what he expected. He especially enjoyed the soup. Staff came by regularly to refill water, without interrupting our business conversation. A request for coffee was quickly filled. Good coffee! It's a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the area, but you should make the effort.
