We were told by the Uber driver that we HAD to try something from Little Italy. So this was on the Travel Advisor top picks and it was not a disappointment. We ordered lasagna and it was fantastic. Did the online seating request and was seated within 5 minutes of arriving and ate, and left all within 30 minutes!

Even though it was a busy Saturday night the server made space for us to sit as a two so we didn’t have to wait too long for table. But be warned, this place can get extremely busy on the weekend and you should book in advance! Service was excellent, with plenty of questions answered and suggestions made. The food was delicious and arrived much quicker than we expected being a busy night, but was all cooked fresh. Being in little Italy we expected the bill to be big, but we’re happily surprised at the cost. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting little Italy :-)

We have eaten there several times with family and also on three occasions for company business with a large group. Everyone has always been very pleased with the service, and, the choices of wine and food. It is delicious. I recommend the eggplant as an appetizer. We will be returning soon.

The size of this restaurant borders on "industrial scale," so you might not expect the food quality to be outstanding. But you'd be wrong! All of the dishes our family ordered were outstanding. Getting the red sauce just right makes or breaks many pasta dishes, and theirs is pure perfection. I had a pasta dish with mixed seafood, and the amount of shellfish provided was very generous and all very good quality. The makeshift outdoor seating on the street is nicely done, and the whole experience was very enjoyable.

We have eaten dinner here several times when in town. Last night was again a good meal with a pleasant waiter.

A visit to San Diego is always worthy of a Little Italy experience. I have eaten in this establishment many times. I love consistency in service and atmosphere as well as food selections and of course ...taste. It was another wonderful dining experience for me and my friend ( whom by the way, was visiting fo earth first time). We ate and drank and laughed and had plenty of food left over to take with us. However, we forgot one thing...my friend left her credit card. I called the next day from La Jolla, and Marcus had given our card to the manager, we picked it up the following day. I find this rare in today's society. I was thrilled with Marcus's integrity. My friend gave him a huge reward. Bravo! We'll keep coming back, hopefully remember to take the card after paying. 5 stars!

The food here is interpretive Italian...when does one make an Ossobuco with pork, in a Madeira sauce that has so many mushrooms it is inedible? Needless to say, didn't each much of it as it had none of the delicate taste of this dish. Daughter had a fettucine Alfredo, that instead of veggies, was to have mushrooms. Well, like the other dish, there were soooo many mushrooms the flavor was overtaken. And not sure of the bread- certainly not Italian, was way too soft without flavor.

The food was terrific. Fresh pasta with traditional sauces. The sea bass on fettucini with mussels got a great review, and so did the penne bolognese. Ate there only one night but would go back anytime. The service was a little slow but the waiter explained the cause of the delay and apologized which is what distinguishes good service in my book.

We had reservations, which was definitely necessary on a Sunday evening. Service was fine, but the food was mixed--both of our fish entrees were served on a bed of cold cooked spinach was not wonderful (we were comped one dessert which was kind). Excellent homemade tiramisu (my favorite dessert). I would go back, even with the cold spinach.

I've worked in Little Italy, Baltimore at a more casual and more delicious establishment. I picked a standard dish on purpose. The bolongese was nothing special at all. Disappointing.

The dishes were classic and tasty and were pretty large. The service was attentive and agile. The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Olive Garden quality restaurant. Definitely not worth the price. I was not impressed with my meal and all of the dishes the other 6 people at my table ordered did not look like anything special.. The one thing I was happy with is the sauce that comes with the bread, very good. Wasn’t too happy with the bread though. Olive Garden is better.

We enjoyed one of the best meals we have eaten in several years. Had an excellent caprese, perfectly cooked swordfish, and a memorable bottle of Montepulciano vino rosso. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

I can understand the popularity of the restaurant. Bread and marinara sauce are given to you on the table.....the sauce was very good. I ordered the Caesar Salad, which was just okay, but my pasta with seafood dish was outstanding. I couldn't finish it... the portion was huge and came piping hot. A very good place!

We stopped in here on an extremely busy Friday night. Thinking we may have to wait an extended period of time, the hostess located us a table within minutes. Food and service here are excellent! Great wine list as well. We were a group of three, so opted to order and appetizer and three dishes to split. Recommend doing this, so each person gets a sample of the delicious meals. We even had some to take home with us. Outdoor dining really lends to the charm and experience of Little Italy. Such a great vibe at this place and enjoyed seeing everyone having a nice evening. Put this location on your site the next time you visit Little Italy!

We wanted to try a restaurant in Little Italy and were disappointed. Started with drink options when we only could choose from wine or beer. Then we ordered for appetizers an order of arancini balls. When we took a bite all of ours were frozen cold in the middle. I ordered the orecchiette with crumbled sausage. It really lacked seasoning and the sausage was not crumbled but in large pieces. The other entrees were also just fair. My favorite part was the outside patio and all the lightning.

The food and waiters here are sensational. My husband and I stopped here lunch. We had split the Insalata Tricolors - excellent salad. My husband had three stuffed cannelloni shells - excelIent and I had the linguine boscomara - plenty of seafood! My only disappointment was my portion was too large for me to eat and I couldn’t take it home since we were on a cruise ship. Will definitely stop here again next year!!

This place is always busy so try to make a reservation if you are going for dinner on the weekend. We sat outside which is really nice as inside can get a little noisy. The staff are very pleasant and attentive and the food is very good, only a 5/10 for the cappuccino though.

One of the best Osso bucco we've ever had! side mushroom risotto was very delicious too. Big portion though, my husband and I tried really hard, couldn't finish this super tasty entree. Great food, great service, great atmosphere! They have big outdoor dining area on sidewalk which is fun and safe. Reservation recommended, especially for dinner.

I've been here before, but this place is special. The food is terrific - the wine list is spectacular, staff are wonderful as always and I can order in Italian and people are native speakers who understand all the fine details of a great Italian restaurant. Spring for the good wine. The list is extensive. I had a couple glasses of Barbone and my guest the Syrah. When you sit down they bring you warm rolls and fresh San Marzaon marinara. this is such a wonderful treat. Don't pass it up. Salad Romana is crisp and not too much. The Chicken Valllatinese ( hope I remembered it properly) was lightly breaded chicken breast, smothered in delicious mushroom and a brown hunter's sauce. fresh steamed veggies on the side. The pasta was absolutely done al dente - sauce was a perfect rose. We ended with what we came for - real cannoli. Honestly they could hold the Hershey's syrup and just powder sugar this lovely treat. Highly recommend.

First time visiting here. Cute setting in little Italy. Sat outside and truly enjoyed the busyness of those out on the town. Best Italian food I’ve ever had, hands down. From the bread and marinara dip, to the salad and lobster and cheese stuffed ravioli. Great ambiance and wonderful staff.

We were there last night. Nice spot. Great prompt, professional accurate service. Food was reasonably priced for the area. Menu was exciting especially the nightly specials. The portions were robust to say the least. The quality and tastes were top notch. My pork shank osso was the best I’ve ever had. Kitchen and service moved briskly but we never felt hurried. Highly recommend.

Food was excellent. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Loved the calamari and fried zucchini appetizer. Light, crisp bites. Had a special of stuffed and fried squash blossoms. Amazing. The Penne Bolognese was terrific. Good sized portions. Friendly and quick service. Never rushed us. Attentive to our needs. Great find

Had dinner at this cozy trattoria with my cousin on Friday, 11/14. Delicious dinner, excellent waiter. I enjoyed the house chianti, the Insalata Romana, and especially the Linguine Boscomare. Right in the heart of bustling Little Italy. Highly recommended.

Italian restaurant in the middle of Little Italy in San Diego. We ordered two first courses and the portions were plentiful. Good food quality but, honestly, I probably expected some less imperfections given the amount of positive reviews. But these are small things, I would recommend

Was really looking forward to this night out at Buon Appetito. Unfortunately, was highly disappointed. Ordered the Filet Gorgonzola. Was cooked med-rare but could not slice it - Weird, right? Tried slicing/tearing from various angles and still tough. Never experienced such an awful filet. The carrots were raw but the broccoli was good. Great.......I paid $30.00 for tasty broccoli. Will not be returning to Buon Appetito anytime soon.

We had lunch here on Saturday and sat outside. I had made reservations, however we arrived early by 30 minutes and had no trouble getting a table. We sat long the street under an umbrella watching the people walk by, that was enjoyable. We were given complimentary homemade bread and sauce, which were both very good. We had the house salad - very good, and meatballs as appetizers (good). Entrees were good, nothing spectacular. We enjoyed it, but since there are so many options, would choose another Italian restaurant to try when in town again.

No reservations available on Saturday night but we were seated within 10 minutes of arrival at 6:30PM. Huge outdoor space under a roof with heaters. We preferred out doors to the small inside space. We asked them to move some of the heaters because it was too warm. We started with a bottle of Tuscan Chianti the was overpriced at $36 but that is normal for most restaurants. We started with a complementary generous bread tray and some of the best thick marinara sauce I have ever eaten. The bread was fresh and very good. Next came the roasted goat cheese appetizer. Creamy cheese, delicious pesto, roasted garlic and caramelized onions. We plowed through the four pieces of tossed bread and used the rest of our bread to sop up the delicious goodness. The linguine boscomera and borsettini aragosta were memorable. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauces were rich and flavorful. The only downside was the cannoli for desert. There was only 1 for $8. It was delicious but the shell was like a rock. Once you broke it up, it was fine. Service was good but a little slow at the end. They had a lot of servers and they were all working very hard. There are lots of good restaurants in Little Italy and this was the only one we tried but we have no regrets. It was a memorable night.

Great staff. But the borsettino aragosta was tasteless. There was no lobster taste at all. The sauce was all cream without any sign of lobster stock. Cannot recommend this course. Wine was perfect, Barbone super Tuscany and Raeburn chardonnay. Perhaps other dishes were better.

right in the middle of little italy. offers comfortable outdoor seating. Great service and great food! Great selection of wine!

Nice location and nice food. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is in the heart of little Italy area with lovely atmosphere around. Pleasant experience to recommend.

This place had so many reviews so thought of trying it. Located in little Italy area this place was quite busy on a Thursday night. Ordered veg Gnocchi which was Yummylicious. Others eating meat and pasta told that their food was yummy too! Give it a try.

This is a wonderful restaurant! I had one of the best meals ever! I would have given it 5 stars but our waitress was awol. We never got extra bread with our meal and wasn’t offered Parmesan. I would still go back!

I didn’t expect to like this little Italian restaurant on India Street because it is fairly close to all the action and assumed it might be average. But I thoroughly enjoyed my selections and the plates I saw on other tables (salmon and sautéed spinach) looked equally as good. It started with a totally delightful marinara dipping sauce for bread - bright and “basily” - and then I enjoyed the gnocchi in Gorgonzola with Serrano ham. Very nice particularly because the sauce was lighter than I expected since the waiter described it as rich. Rich yes but not too heavy. A very enjoyable meal.

We walked in around 530 to have dinner. The hostess didn’t smile. We were seated at a table for two near the wall. Vincenzo greeted us. He took our order. Very nice man and definitely loves what he does. We ordered the Insalata TriColori, gluten free pasta with “Bolognese”. I had a glass of red wine: Montepulciano Abruzzo. Delicious. I normally drink Malbec. My husband had the Borsett di vitello and a Peroni. Our bill came to $75. The people definitely work hard to move the tables. I did feel it was a bit rushed though. Living on Long Island in New York we have authentic Italian food and to be honest this was just OK. The Bolognese was made with puréed ground beef. It was not good at all.

Delicious!! Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service and the best Italian food I’ve had in Little Italy. Happy to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday there.

Before traveling to San Diego, we read reviews on the Top 10 Restaurants in Little Italy, according to TripAdvisor. Happily we chose Buon Appetito and our choice was rewarded with excellent service and food, especially the fettuccine with mushrooms and brandy sauce. Because of COVID, we were intent on eating outdoors and they have created a large, roomy, shaded seating area out front and we were very comfortable eating there. We highly recommend you try it.

Buon Appetito is a great outdoor dining spot in Little Italy. Well made fresh salads, well prepared sea bass and very good Osso bucco. Efficient, friendly service.

Very good Italian restaurant. There is a wide choice of Italian dishes and pastas. But be careful, no pizzas. Be careful with wines that risk being sweet!

Went later in the evening when it wasn’t as busy. Took them around 30 mins to come and take my order. I ordered the arancini but they were full of peas which wasn’t on the menu and I don’t like so didn’t eat them ($18 dollars wasted). When the waiter was taking my starter away he asked if I wanted to keep the fork I’d just used to use again for my main!! When I said no he asked again looking confused. I asked if I could get a new one but it was clearly an inconvenience. I asked if they wanted me to move as they were clearing up around me stacking chairs and moving tables. I was definitely in their way. They kept doing it even though I’d said it was making me uncomfortable so I ate up and left. Wouldn’t go back.

This was the best food I had on our recent trip to San Diego. We were staying downtown and it is a short Uber or Lyft away. We had the opportunity to sit outside. The service was amazing. I would recommend visiting Buon Appetito in Little Italy in San Diego.

I was super excited to go to his place but honestly when I got my food I was absolutely upset and disappointed. They may season it a little differently but overall the quality was that of Olive garden. Make matters worse the waiter was a bit rude it’s as if he didn’t understand that we’re not Italian and that we are in America.

I'm Italian so I'm very choosy about the places that I eat Italian food. Their food is amazing and we have been there twice. It is located in Little Italy in downtown San Diego and we eat outside at a table on the patio. The pastas are all wonderful, and the plates are large enough to split unless you are a big eater. We had Capellini Alla Checca which is tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella, tossed with angel hair pasta. Yum! We also had bread and wine of course. The service was outstanding, the location wonderful, and people watching was the best too. A must place to eat!

Friendliest service in a very long time, despite it being super busy. Food was also great. Keep up the great effort.

Scheduled an after work dinner and the food did not disappoint. Great service as well. Highly recommend!

We were a party of four and asked to be seated inside as it was rather cool in their outdoor area. There was a party of 8 celebrating a birthday so there was lots of talk going on, but no so much that we couldn't hear each other at our table. We all had pasta, gluten free and it was very, very good. Knowing that Italian restaurants are generous with their servings, we only ordered two dishes and two salads to share. Boy were we glad we did! Even sharing we all had enough left over to eat for lunch the next day. We also ordered a bottle of wine that was on special with our meals and it was really, really good. The service was excellent and the over all experience was terrific. So good that we may go again while we are here visiting San Diego. All four of us highly recommend Buon Appetito.

Buon Appetito restaurant left us a pleasant impression due to a friendly and fast service and quality Italian food

This place has been here forever, and they have all the classic italian dishes. Menu and pricing could use a little updating to make it 5-star, but this place has no trouble keeping the place full. Reservations recommended, especially for groups.

I was looking forward to having an Italian dinner in Little Italy. This restaurant was highly rated and had interesting pastas dishes. We started off with having the worst Caesar salad ever, and we should have left after that. But, we stayed, unfortunately. Both of our pasta dishes were tasteless with one being very salty. If you appreciate good Italian food, stay away.

My son and I had a fantastic dinner at Buon Appetito. The service was very good even on a crowded night

For a special occasion, four of us had a late lunch in this modest-sized restaurant in Little Italy. There is outdoor seating on the sidewalk but we chose a window table inside. The staff was extremely solicitous and generous. In general, we enjoyed the offerings, which were served in large proportions. The octopus salad was excellent. The tiramisu was outstanding. We would come back.

Stumbled upon this place several years ago by accident and what a find! Must have the eggplant Timbalo! Also sold in the market next door to take home! Freezes well too!

After reading the number of glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, our family decided to try this restaurant. The food is excellent, the restaurant is quaint, and nice. However, they missed the mark on CUSTOMER SERVICE. We came to this restaurant for an early dinner. The restaurant was a little busy. However, our family was seated. The hostess did not want to wait on us. She put the menus at the edge of the table and did not hand us the menus individually. She didn't smile. I watched her with other customers, she handed menus individually to them and smiled. Our waiter also had an issue with serving us. My husband wanted a refill on his drink. My husband asked the waiter to come over. The waiter acknowledged and advised my husband, he would be at our table in an moment. My husband observed the waiter was attentive to other customers, but not us. After my husband waited a few minutes more, the waiter came. My husband at this time was unhappy. Let's just say the waiter didn't receive a good tip, because of the lack of good service. We are tourists, we could have spent our money elsewhere. The only color this restaurant should see is GREEN!

Loved the atmosphere of this place. Very reminiscent of our trip to Italy. Really small things keeping us from five stars here- wine could have been cooler. Other minor things but we’d go back for sure!!

Wonderful Atmosphere and waitstaff. Food was amazing and portion sizing was very adequate. I have Arancini, Crab Ravioli, and Pistachio Cheesecake, all were divine. My only reason for not giving a 5 star review, If I pay $70 for a half bottle of wine, I should not be waiting for the service staff to pour. I will visit again on next trip.

We highly recommend Buon Appetito Wife had the Cozze e Vongole - linguine & clams I had Linguine alla Scoglio- in a white sauce. You’ll love this place

We came here looking for authentic Italian food and we found it! This place was amazing. Felt like we were in Italy sitting outside on the cute patio. Our waiter treated us like we were his family friends. They were very hospitable. The food was phenomenal. Can't say enough good things about this place! If we ever travel back to San Diego we will go here again.

Marcelo was our waiter and he did an excellent job. The food was excellent (owner cooking tonight) and the menu is exceptional.

Went for dinner after looking at several different places reviews. We were seated outside which was lovely, a heater nearby which was quickly moved when we commented that was cooking us and perfect then. Good sized menu and our waiter (?Jacob) was perfect. He helped with choices and checked on us frequently and just a very nice person! There were 3 of us, one loved (branzino) her dinner and the other two (pastas) thought they were good, but certainly not great. Too full for dessert. Would I go back? Would try other places first, but would not not go here.

My husband and I went here for dinner twice while in San Diego for a week. We enjoyed our dinner and waitress (Tatiana) so much the first night we returned two nights later. On both occasions we went with Tatiana’s recommendations and we were not disappointed!

My wife and I went out to dinner on a rare cold, windy SD night. We were originally outside but asked to move inside and were reseated instantly and without a problem. The food and wine were good and our server Paolo was very nice. He was helpful and knowledgeable. The Little Italy area is a fun destination and full of nice spots. Would recommend this restaurant and the area.

Before starting our hop on hop off trolley excursion at the LITTLE ITALY stop, we asked a coffee shop merchant for a restaurant recommendation. He said hands down Buon Appetito. One of the trolley car driver/guides was our second recommendation and last but not least was an Uber driver. That being said, we made an open table reservation (make a reservation) because it’s small, popular and outrageously delicious and not expensive. Fabulous menu and service. Try the salad with the duck breast and goat cheese for the appetizer. Any entree can feed two people.

Delicious food in a cozy Italian neighborhood in San Diego! I have eaten the most delicious bolognaise sauce in a long time and I travel a lot in Italy 🫣. The daughter had lasagna (top), the son fruit de mer (top), husband wild boar ragu (giant). Good wine. Environment and waiters ok! Recommended!

We were not disappointed, friendly staff great happy hour specials. Food and drinks were delicious. Great ambience, Great place for romance on a date night. Patio is fantastic on a San Diego summers eve!

This was our second visit in 5 years. It is in Little Italy, a 20 minute walk from our hotel near the cruise terminal. That area is full of wonderful restaurants but we returned to the one because of our previous experience. Both times, the food and service were as good as anyone can expect. The dining room is vibrant and a bit hectic but still comfortable. We have eaten Italian food all over the world and this compares to the best of Italy, Seattle, Tacoma, Philadelphia, Rome or Palermo. We made a reservation online for 2 on a Saturday night at 7PM and were seated right away. Every meal starts with complementary fresh baked bread and a wonderful marinara sauce.

Very good dinner. My wife had the Osso Bucco which was terrific. I had risotto which was just OK. Nice ambience but small and a little crowded. Good service. Great location in the heart of Little Italy.

I always have trouble choosing between a pasta dish and a dish with more animal protein since the latter tends to come with veggies and potatoes and I prefer to have pasta with it. They were very accommodating and gave me pasta instead of the veggies and potatoes. I could choose the pasta and the sauce I wanted it. I chose penne pasta and veal, both in marsala sauce. It was very good but something was missing in the seasoning that makes me not want to give it a 5-star rating. My friend and I shared the tricolore salad which was absolutely delicious!! It was the salad dressing that made it so good! The service is excellent. The restaurant is small but cozy with nice decorations.

We have eaten here several times. Every meal lunch or dinner has been excellent. The staff is courteous and helpful. Answer all our menu related questions.

My wife and I had dinner here twice on our last trip to San Diego. This place is amazing. Great food, great wine, and amazing service. The atmosphere is a little loud, but it’s because everyone is having such a good time. The entire staff is phenomenal, including the hostess and bus people. Authentic Italian food, and great people. You need to eat here at least once if your in this area.

Our whole family enjoyed their dinners! Our son had the flank steak and it was perfect, my husband had the lasagna and it was amazing, I had the gnocci and it was so tender and the tomatoes were fresh! The only negative was the bruschetta was not what we were used to. It was grilled and the mozzarella was funky. However, I still highly recommended!!

We chose this restaurant through Trip Advisor and were more than thrilled. In fact, we have never enjoyed a meal more! We shared a Caesar Salad (also the best ever!) and selected two different Raviolis. My husband chose the spinach one and I had the salmon one. The sauces were incredible and the pasta super fresh and tender - cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. It was very busy and there seemed to be a happy buzz both inside and on the patio.

Ate here a couple times in the past and always enjoyed their food and great service, this time with Wagner as our waiter. Wagner knows everything about the item choices on their menus. They have a lunch menu and a dinner menu, but there's also a "Happy Hour" menu that you need to ask for. The Happy Hour menu is much much smaller, but with some great items to choose from and the Happy Hour menu is for 2p.m. to 5 p.m., so if you ant some great food but you're not that hungry, look at the Happy Hour menu, most dishes are sharable. We ordered the Caprese, the Polenta and the Capellini alla Checca, along with a bottle of Chanti.

Went here for our last night of vacation. Chose it from reviews on TripAdvisor. The food was quite delicious. We started with the arancini. My husband had the risotto and I had the ossobuco. By far the ossobuco was the best. The flavors were amazing. Our server was okay. Reviews were split on the service. Either very attentive or not. We noticed that all of the tables she serviced were always waiting for her to come and take care of the bill, etc. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. Many restaurants in little Italy get busy. There is quite a bit of foot traffic, so the restaurants get busy. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious.

My sweetheart and I are were only in San Diego for three days and had dinner here all three nights of our visit. the food was very good, the staff (Vincenzo) was most attentive and the ambience typical Italian. I suspect there are other Italian restaurants in San Diego however we kept going back to the one that we knew and trusted.

We dined here on New Year's Eve, one of the busiest nights of the year I assume. We couldn't make reservations but when we called, the lady told us to come and put our name down and she would do her best to seat us in a reasonable amount of time. We had our doubts... New Year's Eve... reasonable probably meant hours! Since she didn't ask our name, we thought it was a generic polite gesture... Much to our surprise and delight, the lady remembered us when we walked in and approached the hostess, and she told us to give her 20 minutes. Again, I had my doubts because the place was packed and there were people waiting. In almost exactly 20 minutes, she seated us during the peak dinner hours! As busy as it was, the server was attentive enough despite running around, served all our needs, and was friendly, helpful, and professional. We had gamberi buon appetito and calamari for appetizers and both were delicious. Not big portions, but made up for in taste! For mains, we got the linguine allo scoglio, linguine boscomare, filleto al pepe verde, and capellini alla checca. All were delicious and well made. I thought the boscomare was better than the scoglio, so I ended up switching with my wife, but no complaints. Everything was so tasty and satisfying. Between the food and the service, you can't go wrong here. Thank you Buon Appetito! We can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful late Sunday lunch in Little Italy. Lots of choices by our group of 8 and all were delicious. They had some specially priced apps and drinks which was a bonus.

Friday night in Little Italy and we went to Buon Appetitio. This restaurant was busy but the wait was so worth it, the food was excellent. After drinks were delivered we enjoyed some warm bread and then our meals were brought out. Two in our group had lasagna, one was spaghetti and meat sauce and I enjoyed lobster filled pasta with asparagus. We loved the food and enjoyed visiting while watching the local nightlife. My only regret is we didn’t get to eat again again while visiting San Diego.

Delicious lunch outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Bread/sauce appetizer was amazing. Both Capellini Alla Checca and Ravioli Spinaci were fantastic!!

This is a great Italian restaurant in the heart if the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego. The extended street patio makes for a wonderful dining area and viewing of the street scene. Our meals were great and the vibes terrific.

I definitely wanted to have a great first experience in Little Italy - and I was definitely NOT dispappointed! Vicenzo spoke beaultiful Italian to us and catered to our every need. He provided great recommnedations and was so gracious in our sharing of our meal. I HIGHLY recommnend Buon Appetito - but please sit outside, enjoy some amazing wine, appeitizer, ensalada and meal, and then relax in the awesome atmosphere on India Street. Salud!

We walked around Little Italy and found this place right after the holiday bowl parade. We got there about five minutes before swarms of people and they got super busy. Other than the fact that they were completely overwhelmed and seem to only have a handful of staff, everything was really good. We had the penne pasta with beef and the beef lasagna; both were very good, fresh and hot. The bread they served ahead of time was also very fresh and tasty. We started with a Caesar salad which was also very good. We would definitely come back and we think we were here previously many many years ago once we got there. One suggestion that I would have is that you go for an early dinner because it can get really crowded. We were there about 5 PM right after a parade and it was extremely busy for the rest of the night.

Been going here for years, but the food seems to have become very average. Six people, six different entrees. We all agreed that we make better at home. We hope they fix it

We booked here as our 3 year old grand nephews wanted pasta. The food was fabulous which we did not expect. They only had room for our group of 6 indoors and while at first I was disappointed as it was a nice evening, it turned out to be better as there a]was only 1 other table seated indoors. The patio was fairly crowded. The goat cheese appetizer was a highlight.

A family dinner we all enjoyed. However it was nothing special. The menu has too many choices and I think they would do better to specialize in fewer items. We would recommend for a family (like ours) who is trying to please everyone, but one time is enough for us.

One of the best restaurants in Little Italy. They have the best eggplant ever!!!! Their service is always excellent. Their Menu outstanding!!! Their pasta is delicious!!!! We love it!!!! And now they have a Patio built on the street that makes it more cozy. We really recommend this place.

The salad was the best plate, beet and rucola with nuts. The pasta Bursettini filled with lobster in cream sauce with asparagus was above average, not extraordinary. The penne Bolognese was average. Price was on the high side, we ended spending $50 each, no liquor or dessert.

Went in with high expectations for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Ordered Cioppino seafood was a little over cooked sauce was tasty. Restroom was okay but the sink had no running water and was dry. That means it’s been like that for a while. My hands were soaped up. Told the server and he took me to a sink they use. Thats a red flag for cleanliness big turn off.

My wife and I have eaten dinner here many times because the Filet Mignon is always cooked perfectly. Also, the service has always been excellent. The downside? The prices have increased significantly over the past few years. Previously the prices were very good, now they are average.

they didn’t seat me and my family until the whole party was there that didn’t make any sense to me we were the only Blacks I felt very discriminated I will never go back and it was my birthday the manager was so rude and hostile I guess Blacks is not welcome in there business and that is a shame I took my family to a much friendlier place in the area the owner needs to know how they are treating Blacks I’m sure he wouldn’t like that

Great food, great service. But this is not a pizza restaurant. We ate polpo (amazing) and then seafood linguini.

The food was very delicious and the waiters very friendly, we were attended by Rocio and the treatment was very good, I recommend coming to eat.

Bang in the middle of Little Italy, this large Italian restaurant totally overachieved in so many ways. A great menu, waiting staff who seem to have been booked by a model agency. The most amazing pasta dishes I think I’ve ever had. Blew me away!!

Saturday evening (4/6/19) my wife and I were trying to decide where to eat dinner. We were in San Diego staying at the Springhill Suites by Marriott prior to our next day embarkation on the Disney Wonder. The hotel concierge suggested Buon Appetito. It was a great choice. We walked there from the hotel and were promptly seated. The restaurant was busy but all the staff were very helpful and the service was fantastic. We both had the lasagna. It was by far the best I have ever eaten anywhere. For dessert we had the tiramisu. Wow, that, too, was outstanding. If you are in San Diego you won’t go wrong eating at this restaurant.

My wife and I dined here Friday night. We did not have a reservation and were seated right away by a very helpful staff member. Thank you sir, we observed your incredibly hard work. Wish I would have asked your name. Once seated, service by another staff member was adequate but not exemplary. We needed to ask for drink refills after they sat empty for quite some time. My wife is vegan and had the ravioli. She said it was fine but didn’t eat it all and I could tell by her body language that she wasn’t impressed. We had the artichoke appetizer and it was perfectly prepared and melted in my mouth. Delicious. I had the chicken Marsala, it was extremely hard to eat and chewy. The sauce was correct and came with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli, but the star of the show wasn’t present. I know and appreciate Italian food and a great Marsala, but sadly this wasn’t it. it was served with a great appetizer, a nice atmosphere and amicable if not a little slow service. Overall, a nice night out with the wife but not exceptional in any way.

We chose this Italian restaurant in Little Italy due to the excellent ratings. The place was extremely busy but we were lucky to get a table. The service was excellent but frankly speaking the food was only o.k. but not outstanding as many others wrote.

I don't hardly give out 5 stars for anything, but this place deserves it. First, the hostess moved tables and chairs just to seat us, then it seems all the staff have an italian background, so they know the menu inside and out. They brought out bread and marinara sauce, and it was okay, but unique. We had the caprese and the calimari for appetizers, the batter for the cakimari was light and delicious. I had the the linguini boscamare, outstanding. My family had the linguini allo scoglio, penne bolognese, capellina a la checca, and the risotto....they were all delecious. The only plate that was a convern was the penne al arrabiata. It was too spicy. It is located in lil Italy, and we actually walked there from our hotel. Parking looks challenging, and that would be the only reason for me not to go back. Awesome restaurant, and I totally recommend it.

We went to Buon Appetito after reading good reviews - and we were not disappointed. My wife had the LINGUINE BOSCOMARE and I had the OssoBuco. A lot of eating and so tasty. My wife recommended the Linguine to the table who sat down at the next table and they ordered it and said it was a great choice. We arrived quite early without booking and were seated right away but before long a line had formed. A very popular place...and no wonder.

Had dinner here with another couple after roaming around little Italy and enjoying a couple of glasses of wine. Great food specials. The osso bucco was fantastic and the cioppino was as well. The osso bucco was finished in a Marsala sauce. First time I’ve seen that. And it was tender and full of flavor. The cioppino was a lighter broth than I’m used to but still very good. The waiter suggested an Italian wine blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet that was full bodied and liked by everyone. It was a beautiful meal for our last night in San Diego.

My wife and I enjoy Little Italy but were quite impressed at the start of a very busy weeknd evening when the manager here greeted us out of the sidewalk and explained the intricacies of this amazing menu, His patient and professional enthusiasm (and Italian accent) helped us enjoy three wonderful dishes we have never tried - and will never forget. The first is liguini (pasta option) served with duck ragu. The second was appardelle pasta with wild boar (maniated for days), The amazing finish was an custom-made artisian "brick" of gelato - chocalate and hazel nut gelato with a warm, melting chocalate center. Think of a very large Haggen Daaz ice cream bar without the stick and it's pure heavenly gelato! The prices here are reasonable and the quality is out of this world. If you can come, as we did, just before the evening rush, dining al fresco on a warm evening (they do have heat lamps too), is a real people-watching, savory dish adventure. if you are going to step "outside the box" in conventional Italian dining - this is indeed the place to do it!

Stopped to have lunch. Muffuletta and meatballs were delicious and more than enough food for two people. The seating was in front of the restaurant.

Little Italy is a neat neighborhood. We searched for a restaurant that could accommodate gluten-free and chose Buon Appetito. They made a GF pasta with clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops that was fabulous. Hubby (not gluten-intolerant) had fried squash blossoms and pasta with duck ragout (Fusilli argu d'anatra) - delicious but too much food!

The most AMAZING meal!! My daughter & I had the duck. It was made with cream sauce & had mushrooms & vegetables. It was so delicious. My Pinot Grigio wine was fantastic. The fresh bread was the tastiest ever. Loved everything❤️🥰!! Dining outside was fabulous! I will dine here again soon! The Service is SUPER!

A great place that we enjoy going to again and again. We started with Caprese and Burrata. My wife asked for a special chicken dish and they were more than accommodating and the Orecchiette Alla Barese I had was fantastic!! We have never had a bad meal at Buon Appetito and I don't expect that to stop.

Great Italian food. I had the Ravioli al Caprino. It was outstanding. One of the best I have ever had. I ate the entire dish which is rare for me. Obviously I had no room for dessert. Looking forward to returning to try another wonderful dish.

We had friends recommend this spot and we are so glad we made the reservation. The pasta was incredible and so was the bread and marina they bring out when you sit down. The wine pours were heavy, which is always a plus. :) I would highly recommend making a reservation as Little Italy can get really crowded and the space is a little small.

Everything great that everyone has said about this restaurant is 100% true! I was traveling by myself and took the recommendation of going to Little Italy early; however, everyone else seemed to have that same idea. I didn’t bother making a reservation because I thought I wouldn’t really need one seeing as I was traveling alone. And though I didn’t need one, it was only by grace and luck that I got the last tiny table in the corner of the room. Lol! Pro tip 1: if you aren’t staying nearby or can’t walk to the restaurant, I suggest using a rideshare to drop you off. You’re welcome ;) Pro tip 2: Watch out for the bread LOL! It is absolutely delicious, soft, warm, and melts in your mouth… So it’s hard to stop eating it but you’ll want to keep room for the delicious meal that’s coming. Do your best (hahaha!!) Started with a 1/2 bottle of red from Montepulciano (visited that region in Tuscany a few years ago and have been hooked on their vine ever since!), followed by the most delicious swordfish carpaccio ever, a mouthwatering beet salad, and I finished with the lamb shank. The lamb was overcooked and my server noticed it as soon as I brought it to her attention and replaced it in short order. The excellent service that people rave about at this establishment is earned. Lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

My mouth is watering thinking back on this meal! We chose Buon Appetito because it was a close walk from our apartment rental and they had a reservation time left! So glad we chose this place! Excellent Italian food!!

Probably the worst gnocchi I've ever eaten, it seems the only thing Italian in this restaurant is the name, the rest is just bad americanized food.

Very busy place! Clearly very popular! Service however was very good, they were all working together very well, very attentive. Most of them, if not all spoke Italian which gave a nice authentic vibe too! Extensive menu too! And huge portions! (At least for european portions they were huge!) We ordered arancini to start, had boar ragu and the salmon risotto. Arancini was very nice. Our mains were just ok though I’m afraid. Pretty sure the pasta is homemade? ..... But it was slightly overcooked for me, and the sauces were nice, but not great (sorry!).

This restaurant had been recommended to us by friends and it certainly did not disappoint. Food is good and varied, with great service. We had an outside table which allowed us to soak up the atmosphere of Little Italy. Highly recommended.

Reservation required if you want to get seated in less than an hour. I had reservations and still had to wait a short time. Excellent food quality and presentation. Our waiter, George, was outstanding. When asked about a salad, George recommended we split one as they are large. Great recommendation. He made a good Chiantis wine recommendation for our dinner at a reasonable price. Very busy restaurant so make the reservation well ahead of the date you want to attend. No parking in Little Italy.

2nd visit and even excellent experience. Seafood pasta with tomato sauces and ossso buco were delicious.

Had lunch for two outdoors in January (being from NJ, just saying that I can dine al fresco in January is a big treat). Both meals were excellent and imaginative and our server did a great job.

Authentic Italian great pasta bread sauces and desert, expensive but great food had to walk it off Creme brûlée house wine

This and Sogno Di Vino are essentially the same restaurant, sharing a kitchen, menus, and hallway connecting the two. Extensive wine list. Indoor and outdoor seating. My meal was good, spouse’s was a chicken meal that was tough to chew.

This restaurant in Little Italy makes you feel like you’re actually in Italy. From the adorable outdoor seating with fire pit to the friendly service to the authentic-tasting food, it was all superb. I had the penne with sausage and this was THE BEST ARABBIATTA sauce I have EVER had. Now, I am not Italian and have never been to Italy, but I may not need to go if I can eat here again. My husband had the seafood linguine which was also exquisite. The portions are large so sharing might be for you if you don’t eat large meals. Overall, this might be my favorite Italian restaurant ever. You must try it!

We had a very enjoyable lunch at this fine restaurant. We ate outside where there is plenty of seating. The service was excellent from start to finish. A large lunch menu had great variety. We shared an appetizer of burrata with lettuce, tomatoes and EVOO. It was delicious. Complimentary warm bread and sauce was excellent. For our main course I had the gnocchi with diced eggplant in a red sauce and my wife had the pappardelle with wild boar ragu. They were both soooo good. Highly recommend this terrific restaurant!

We had a very good meal. Between the 4 of us we had Grilled chicken with eggplant and marinara Chicken past with Alfredo Eggplant with cheese and marinara And Lasagna All very good! Pricing was $15 to $30 for entrees. Staff was friendly.

I started to sense something special as soon as we sat down and they put warm fresh semolina Italian bread on the table with a small bowl of tomato sauce. Yum! We shared a Caprese salad, the usual but perfectly done. I had a special of bag shaped pasta filled with mushroom veal and cheese, served with a slightly pink sauce. So tender, light and delicious! My husband had linguine with scallops, baby clams, mussels & shrimp in a red sauce, excellent! Service was very attentive and pleasant. Wonderful dining experience!

I like the pizza and the house red wine - Chianti Good atmosphere and service. Also a gift for my birthday - a Cake I'll be back, certainly

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious early dinner!! So many great choices… hard to pick one! The wine was very good with a decent price point. Our waiter was very helpful with our selections! Large servings so you can always share a meal or take it home for lunch the next day. Enjoy!

Great food, service and atmosphere. We found the menu extensive and each pasta dish we ordered was delicious. The outdoor patio offered comfortable dining and they kept the outdoor heaters on as needed. Overall very impressive and I would return on future visits to San Diego. O

The pasta here was excellent, and it was easy to taste the homemade quality of the dough. The crusty, soft bread that came out warm was served with a wonderful tomato sauce that tasted like it was from tomatoes plucked fresh from a garden. The fettuccine was chock full of mushrooms and hearty peas, and the farfalle had plenty of chicken and mushrooms as well. The sauces were perfect. The service wasn’t bad, but we were asked twice if we were ready to order in the first few minutes of being seated, and then it took a long time to flag down our waiter at the end for our check. Other than that, though, and excellent visit!

I went with three other people. We sat inside. The service was initially very good, but for some reason after we received our bill it was waiting and waiting... The food was outstanding. Between us we had the penne arrabbiata, classic lasagna, lamb chops, and seafood linguine, and homemade tiramisu. There was bread served along with a slightly spicy tomato sauce (delicious!!). I would definitely return here and recommend it to anyone.

Italian restaurant that we thought was qualitative. Ultimately, not too much. It's banal and uninteresting: simple cooking, and without too much seasoning. The products are not of high quality. Good service that said. But we mainly go there to eat. So meh, go your way

I go to Buon Appetito every time i come to San Diego. They have the best risotto with asparagus and mushroom in a parmesan nest! Simply delicious and wonderful service.

Very delicious food in a convincing location and a good Service. That's all you could ask for. We would definitely come back!

We took time to find a place to park but when we arrived we liked the table we were given. It was a nice day and the atmosphere outside was very nice. The options were very good and with my friend we found some dishes that made us feel in Italy. When I went to the bathroom it seemed like a small place, but the movement and the special was outside

We met a a couple for an authentic Italian dinner in San Diego’s Little Italy district and chose Buon Appetito. We had the Insalata Della Casa (house salad) and it was very fresh and light on the dressing. I had the Fettuccine Alla Montanara and it was very classic and tasty. My wife chose the rigatoni with wild boar and it was tasty, but would have benefitted from additional spices. The couple we dined with both seemed to enjoy their dishes. The wine selection includes a good variety of moderately priced Italian wines. My only real issue is that the inside dining area is too noisy, but hey, that’s Italian.

The first impression is always key at restaurants and with good Italian restaurants I typically gauge this by the bread and associated condiments served. I was a bit disappointed with the more light/fluffy bread that didn't match with what I would expect from a superb Italian place, i.e., rustic, crusty and chewy bread. However, the dipping marinara sauce for the bread was a nice match. I ordered the salad with Gorgonzola cheese and apples with a raspberry vinaigrette. A nice hefty size but could use a bit more acidity to match the cheese. The main course (boar ragu) was excellent and the highlight of the food with excellently cooked pasta. Overall, I would certainly go back but didn't have all my check boxes to receive an excellent review.

So fun. Like being back in Boston’s north end. Great service and food. Bread with dipping sauce. Octopus on arugula, pasta with lobster, seafood on squid ink pasta, and tiramisu. Each dish was flawless.

I went to Buon Appetito with my wife. Trip Advisor ratings showed it to be the Number 1 restaurant in Little Italy. I am not sure where these great ratings come from. My visit was much less than what I expected. The prices here are a few dollars more than other restaurants. The menu looks good and the restaurant looks inviting. My wife ordered the lobster filled pockets and I order Veal Marsala. Both dishes were nearly impossible to eat. Neither one tasted like we expected. There are too many restaurants in this little area to be fooled by ratings and prices. I would not recommend them. I asked for pasta on the side and was told the cooks were not interested in changes to the menu items.

I loved this restaurant and always brought friends and recommended it to visitors as a must eat at place. However, now that there space has tripled in size because of the pandemic and outdoor seating. The service is fine but the food is nothing to get excited about. Apparently the kitchen can’t handle the growth or they need more help. There are so many other places that have great food. Sometimes, smaller is better and that holds true to Boun Appettito. A sad loss.

Made a reservation as attending during Comic Con. Caught the light rail 2 stops from downtown which was easy and only had to walk a few blocks from the station. We were seated outside which had a great atmosphere in the middle of Little Italy. Was a busy restaurant and the staff were friendly and the menu was great. Food arrived pretty quickly and tasted delicious. Didn't have dessert but enjoyed the meals we had. Recommend visiting.

This restaurant was a few blocks from our hotel and we were feeling like Italian food, so headed there. Our timing was excellent because they just happened to have ONE table left. (We didn't have reservations, which I would recommend if you want to eat here and aren't lucky!!) The food and service was excellent. We had an outside table, which was great on a warm (but not hot) night. The only problem I had was that the dinner was so good that I didn't have room for dessert - and their desserts looked as amazing as their dinners.

Absolutely amazing food. Fun atmosphere. Enjoy Street or indoor seating. Party of four and everyone loved the food! Yum!

We'd gone to Nonna earlier in the week, which was excellent but after reading reviews we decided to try Buon Appetito as a change. Whilst it wasn't bad, it wasn't a patch on Nonna. Starter of Arancini was ok but didn't have same flavour as Nonna. Mains were again ok but a bit bland and tasteless. I had the pasta dish with sausage and felt it was very poor. Service was good and we had a very friendly waiter but overall it was nothing special food wise and for me Nonna on the same street is a far better choice.

Great dinner, delicious seafood. We waited for almost an hour for our food to arrive and by the time it arrived, we'd already finished our wine. The staff for kind and polite. They could have offered us something complementary for our waiting time, but other than that, it was a good place to diner.

We stopped here based on reviews and were super pleased. Both the food and service were wonderful. We would hit it again in a second!

Excellent light dinner of a tricolor salad and wild boar ragu pasta. Sitting outside on a cool evening with such superb food was a delight!

The restaurant offers outdoor seating although we decided to eat inside. The restaurant is nicely decorated with paintings/pictures on the walls that I think were for sale. I had the Insalata Fantasia as an appetizer and a delicious pasta entree that was a "special" the night we were there. My husband and I shared the tiramsu for dessert! Service was excellent. Food was delicious! The next time we visit Little Italy in San Diego, we will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our dinner. Service was good. We loved the bread and tomato sauce. We had the burrata and calamari appetizers. For entrees, we had lasagna, risotto, penne Arrabbiata, and a shrimp dish. They were all good, but not fantastic. The risotto was served on top of something that I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to eat or not, but it didn’t taste very good. They did have gluten free pasta. They had a lot of outdoor seating with heaters and fire pits. It was still a little chilly, but nice to sit outside.

I’ve visited San Diego three times in the past three years and this is by far my favorite restaurant. On this trip we ate here every night! Excellent food, nice choices, lovely ambience, great service, cannot say enough. Highly recommend!

Delicious, authentic Italian! The service was great. Our waiter, Vicente, helped us order our dishes exactly the way we wanted them. My husband had an amazing seafood mix over fettuccine that included a piece of sea bass that was exceptional. My cappellini alla checca was the best! The hot-from-the-oven rolls were excellent and the red dipping sauce was soooo good! The ambiance was perfect. We sat at a table outside on the sidewalk and watched all the people go by. It was like being in San Francisco or New York City! We will definitely return.

Buon Appetito is a neighborhood Italian restaurant that is filled with great food, wine and energy. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with a smile and the warm and vibrant decor. We ordered the goat cheese ravioli and the penne pasta with marinara. The dishes were well prepared and delicious. The portions were generous. For dessert, we had to try the tiramisu, and it did not disappoint. It was creamy, airy and flavorful. The balance of chocolate, marscapone cheese and coffee was perfection. The service was friendly and attentive. We really look forward to returning to this gem of a place!

My family wandered through Little Italy reviewing restaurant menus and we decided to try Buon Appetito. We were seated outside on the patio and our waiter warmly greeted us with a smile. The atmosphere felt like we were visiting Italy. The meal was delicious and the service was exceptional.

Had our anniversary dinner there the other night. Food and service were fantastic. Loved the pasta and bread with fresh marinara for dipping. I would recommend this joint in Little Italy of San Diego when you visit.

We had a late lunch here, and it was delicious. The four of us all had different entrees, and everyone loved theirs. The veal osso buco was so tender. Lasagne, cannelloni and linguine tuta mare were great. Service was good which has been unusual lately. I would go back!

Buon Appetito was an accidental find through Open Table! We chose to eat outside because the weather was San Diego perfect! Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared from the bread with sauce to the lentil soup to our main course. And oh that delicious wine!!!

Great place for roadside dining, lovely atmosphere! Excellent food, the seafood linguine being a real highlight, super fresh seafood and a very generous portion! Service was excellent on a very busy evening!

The food was the best part of our visit. We were lucky to get a table at 6:00 on a weekend, as they don’t take reservations. If we waited another 30 minutes, we would have had to wait quite a while. The atmosphere was lively and loud! Our waiter was excellent, very attentive in checking in with us 3-4 times during the meal. They started us with bread and a tomato sauce for dipping. The break was ok, but less than I expected. The entrees and desserts made up for it. We all split a romaine salad which was cold and fresh. I then had Lasagna which was exceptional. My daughter enjoyed her Ravioli and my son had Chicken Parmigiana, which he liked. We split two desserts, a house-made Tiramisu and a Chocolate Tort that was the dessert-of-the day. With 5 glasses of wine, 4 meals and 2 desserts, the bill came to $120, which was very worthwhile.

Gluten free options, very diverse menu, service & staff are excellent ! Wine list, the entire dining experience was delightful.

Really good Italian food and wine. The sidewalk tables gives it European feel and the indoor setting looks really nice also.

This quaint restaurant went above and beyond our expectations. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and the food and service did not disappoint. The complimentary bread is homemade with a marinara dipping sauce that was very tasty. We shared the lasagna, which was one of the best I have ever had! Try this place out for a great time. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. We had Vincenzo as our waiter, and he took VERY good care of us! He made our night well worth the trip!

We stopped in for lunch and had amazing food. My husband said this was the best meal our whole trip! The tiramisu was amazing and both of our pastas were delicious!

Excellent service, great food, perfect ambiance. I order what I wanted and it wasn’t on the menus but the chef made it excellent. Thank you

Busy inside and out on the sidewalk but we got a table just as others were leaving. Good, fresh lasagna and a fairly large selection of wines. Warm bread was a welcome start to a nice meal with very good service!

Our family had a nice Sunday lunch here. We had a capellini dish and ravioli, which were both delicious. The tiramisu is outstanding.

Great place for terrific food and sidewalk dining. Great selection of Italian food. All our selections were delicious and extremely well presented. Service was first calss. Highly recommend.

Used to eat here weekly. Never disappointed with their chicken salad and meat ravioli. But my favorite dish has been their cioppino seafood stew. After more than 10 years since I moved out of the country, I was delighted to enjoy again. Service could be better on Saturdays during Little Italy’s farmers market.

We chose this restaurant because of location and also the outside seating. Atmosphere was nice under covered area. I had the lobster pillows and my husband had shellfish. Both outstanding. We shared the marinated artichokes. Oh my were they good! I would eat here again if in the area. Very nice and an attentive staff.

We all loved everything we ordered. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We made reservations (even during the week, I would suggest making reservations well ahead of time in San Diego). We got there early and they were able to seat us.

Charming and great food. Veal piccata tender and tasty. Hot bread appetizing and red sauce served with carefully flavored. My companion had squid ink linguini with pink sauce and seafood—-ate every last bite. Service was friendly and efficient. Waitress knew the menu and made thoughtful wine and food recommendations. We would certainly go back.

Our hotel concierge recommended this place in Little Italy. Friendly greeting. Had calamari appetizer which was over cooked. Didn’t care for the bread. Dipping sauce was cold. My wife had the bronzino which she liked except that when she shared a portion there was a hair in the dish (not hers as her color is different). The waitress did apologize immediately when informed and did take it off our bill. I had the black squid pasta special. The pasta and sauce were good. Very tiny scallops.
Lunchtime
The service was great and the food was fantastic. We loved the house salad dressing which we were told is sold in their market store a few doors down.
