This popular spot in the South Loop is a good place to get a burger. The quality of the food i.e. burgers and fries is not always consistent, but the beer list is extensive plus the place has a good bar. Always seems to be popular for all ages.

I had the build your own burger (BYOB) and housemade chips. Both were excellent. I also had the triple chocolate shake. I think they should call it death by chocolate as it is extremely chocolate-y but it was wonderful.

My wife and I stopped by here with my father-in-law for a Saturday afternoon lunch. We had a great waiter and the atmosphere was very nice. We were seated right away. Each of us had a drink. They were all good. My father-in-law had wings and my wife and I each had the build your own burger. They have plenty of options for the burger. The burger was cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavor. The wings were also very good. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because I was disappointed in the fries. They were hard for some reason. If they had been decent I would have given this place a 5 star rating. I would definitely come back and give it another try. The burger again was very good.

Love this place. Searched for a really good burger spot - it's always a little harder to get an excellent veggie burger rather than tasteless mush. Burger Bar delivers an excellent veggie burger. Can't say enough good things about the fantastic truffle fries - loved them. Great food, great service, incredible beer selection (husband loved this), great atmosphere and modern/classic decor. Loved this place. Wish we lived in Chicago so I could back repeatedly. And if you enjoy the wonderful Chicago public art, take a stroll into Grant Park opposite to view the agora torso sculptures- weird and wonderful!

Nice place, great burger variety and great beer drink selection. But....the Poutine was OMG good. Haven't had such good poutine since I was in Canada. If you get a chance to stop in, do so!

Really wanted a burger from this place as it was my last night in Chicago. Wanted a takeaway, was asked to scan a QR code to order. Site that opened did not work. And everybody disappeared from the bar. No one to ask for help. Really disappointed with the lack of service. Will not try again.

I can see waiting nearly an hour after being seated to eat IF I am waiting for a seven course meal. THIS WAS BURGERS!!! I won’t return. Waitress got a 22% tip because it wasn’t her fault but good grief.

I was born and raised in west central IL., livestock central. I have never had a better burger in my life. Shocked I had it downtown Chitown. I just ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The cheese was aged white cheddar. After my first bite I knew I didn't want to put any condiments on this burger, it would have ruined it. I wanted to taste the bacon, cheddar and that burger. Awesome. It was cooked perfectly, med. well. It was served on a brioche bun which was also great. I had the sweet potato tots to go along with it. So good. I shared this with my wife as the burger was 1/2 lb. My daughter had the 3 cheese mac n cheese with pulled pork (add in). She thought it was very good. She had a hard time finishing it. Our waiter, Lance, was top notch. He came over just enough to make sure we were doing fine and asked if anything else was needed. Matt (I assume the manager) came out and asked how the meal was and was very friendly. Top notch food and experience.

I was staying down the street from the burger bar and I decided to try it. Nice atmosphere with a large oval bar to give more of a casual restaurant look. there's a large beer selection and a good menu with a variety of choices to be had. I had a Spanish style with chorizo, avocado, bbq beef and tortilla chips. One bite lead to no bites, it was good. I chose to have it with Truffle fries, nice. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. Good place a drink and some good burgers, sound good to me.

I had placed an order for two burger, two fries, and two drinks via their online ordering system (which gets sent directly to the restaurant, not a 3rd party). I got notification that my order was ready, went to pick up and was given one small bag. I looked in it and at the receipt...they only had one order of the above. The bartender told me that was what they received but I showed her my receipt that showed differently. I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to fix the issue (when I was already running late) and there wasn't even so much a "sorry" for the inconvenience.

My wife, son, and I stopped at Burger Bar after the Auto Show and we each had a great meal. The service was prompt and they had a nice selection of drinks to choose from. I had the bacon cheeseburger, my wife had the urban burger and our 22 year old had the bison burger. They were all excellent! We had poutine as a starter, which was also really good. The housemade chips that I got as my side were, like everything else, great. We saw other diners getting milkshakes that looked fantastic also-next time!

Best burgers in Chicago plus they have gluten free buns! I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the cheeseburger. Amazing!! Lots of sit down eating space. Close walk from the aquarium and museum.

Great selection of beers with friendly people. However unlike the Burger Bar in Las Vegas they didn't cook to order. We ordered medium and medium rare both came well done. Hopefully it was just a bad night.

We were there recently with our son's family and had a great lunch. The burgers are ground fresh on site and cooked to order, so you can't get any fresher! They have several unusual choices that we tried and all were very tasty. A half pound burger with hand cut fries should fill most appetites.

We ate at the Burger Bar, twice while visiting Chicago. After our first visit, we had to go back! Delicious food, great service!

Everyone enjoyed their food. Other than my Gyro Burger not being cooked medium as requested, it was good.

Lovely little bar this, quick and attentive service, and the burgers were amazing. Couldn’t fault it.

If I could give it a zero that would be more appropriate. Sat at the bar, no one acknowledged us, people walked up behind us and were taken care of. Waited 39 minutes and flagged down the bartender and received a “I have a whole bar to tend to by myself I’ll get to you.” People were seated beside us and were immediately waited on. We left.

We moved into The Colombian next door and have visited the Burger Bar several times ... before and after events. The Burgers are awesome. The shakes are great! We have enjoyed so many different menu options. We are a family of five with kids ranging from 10 to 20 years-old. We all love dining at the Burger Bar. Matt is a great manager. The staff are awesome!

I have never seen such huge, delicious burgers. My husband designed his own with grilled onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. I got the May special -- the Chile Relleno burger. Both were cooked exactly the way we ordered them (medium rare) and the flavors were wonderful. The hardest part was figuring out how to fit it in my mouth. Great sweet potato fries as well.

Around the corner from our hotel. Decent burgers, including a shrimp burger. Nice selection of beer on draft but super expensive. Service was fine.

Don’t think it’d be possible to top that burger. I actually made a trip advisor account just to review this. It’s that good

We went here on a Saturday afternoon for drinks and snacks. We sat at the bar. Our server was Judy and she was prompt and kind! Would definitely come back!

We stopped by the burger bar simply because it was right by where we happened to be and a burger sounded good. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but boy am I glad we wandered into this particular joint! If you love burgers this is a must while in Chicago. I ordered the Chipotle burger and my husband got the French dip. The burger patties are good quality and flavorful. However I would argue that the magic is in their dipping sauces! The chipotle aioli is 10/10. I would take a bath in it. We tried their truffle fries with their habanero BBQ sauce and that sauce was tasty, although a little misleading as it was not spicy. Delicious BBQ sauce though, they should sell it by the bottle.

After reading the reviews for Burger Bar, we were excited to stop in for lunch, and looking at their menu left us confused as to what we even would order. So many options! Even though this trip was a 'beer tasting trip' for us, we decided to take a break and get shakes! Oh man, were they ever delicious! I had the Banana Nutella and my hubby had the Strawberry Shortcake. We loved both! For the meal I had the Powerhouse Veggie. The avacado and Goat Cheese totally made this burger. I got it on a Gluten Free bun, which was pretty good too! We split sweet potato fries and were full afterwards, so glad that we did! My husband had the Smokehouse burger, with smoked brisket, onions, chipotle slaw, fried pickles, and BBQ sauce! He loved it! It was messy...but so good! What a filling lunch! We were stuffed and satisfied. Would definitely return!

A cold Sunday evening in February with poor attendance...after ordering we waited for about 50 minutes to get 2 burgers and 2 salads. Nothing special at all...Chicago offers much better places for a burger.

Went here to watch the packers / bears and cubs games. A friend recommended it and she was spot on. I had a delicious bison burger with goat cheese, tomato chutney, and spinach leaves on a pretzel bun with a side salad. Everything was delicious and they had some good local beer choices too. We all enjoyed our meals and Victoria, our waitress, was awesome!! Such great service. Will come back!

I found this place randomly on Google after ubering to a couple different places that just looked sketch. We ended up here and it turned out whole days around! These burgers are to die for! I had a burger with friend pickles and friend eggs on it! I’d def come back here. I also had the Mac and cheese which was good and the truffle fries but I wish those would have been much crispier.

I have walked pass this place many times. This time I stopped with my wife and daughter. We were hungry for burgers and were not disappointed. I had the Firehouse. My wife and daughter had the Stacker with various combinations. It was a nice place for a burger lunch.

One of the best burgers I ever had, really. You can get a burger anywhere, but this one was special. We were a party of 3 and we all had different burgers. Everyone was very happy with their meal. I had the build your own prime burger with sweet potato fries and a pumpkin cider. This is a place you can bring your kids or just hang out with your friends. It was a crowd of all ages.

The Burger Bar is an above average burger joint when it comes to the food. The burgers were unique and very tasty. The French Fries were our favorite. The service staff was friendly but unorganized. They may have been understaffed but the place wasn't overly busy at the time. We got at table right away but after that everything was very slow. Slow to order, slow for the food, and I was not offered a refill one time in a visit that lasted over an hour. The food was good enough to put up with it. There was a good bar and grill feel inside with multiple TV's with all the days sports games on. It could get loud at times while we dinned. Overall we enjoyed the place.

Staying at a nearby hotel, I stopped in to The Burger Bar to enjoy a craft beer while they made my "to-go" order. A few other reviewers complained about the fries... I thought they were great: crispy, home-cut style fries. The Angus burger was huge and tasty, and cooked to order. The Mac and Cheese order is also huge... more than I could eat in one meal, after eating the big burger. I liked everything about this place, except the service was kind of slow... even though it was mid-week and not very busy.

Last minute decision to eat here on July 4th after leaving the nearby museums. No reservation, but they were able to seat our family of four with a reasonable wait. Service was good throughout our meal. Great beer selection with some hyper local brews. And equally great burger menu! A little disappointed in the cook, with the burger coming out closer to well done than medium....so, a little dry. But, still delicious. A very welcoming and satisfying meal after a long day of sigh seeing.

Stopped here with a group from work and I didn't even want a burger, but i ordered one anyway. I am glad I did as it was the best burger I've ever had. Great location and excellent atmosphere! A must stop if you are in downtown Chicago.

Great food, cooked to order. Fun upbeat vibe even though we were there early on a weekday. Would definitely eat here again when in town.

I had a cheese burger that was to die for? I went during happy hour and had a great time. Just have the regular fries the truffle fries were not a big deal.

Great place for a burger and great selection of beers. Also had classic Canadian poutine with tater tots. Casual atmosphere and friendly staff.

After a very long and delayed train ride from Michigan to Chicago, we arrived in town at 11:00pm. There are not many places open that time of night where you can eat dinner, and also take a teenager. Even though we arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed, the staff was very gracious about letting us know we should order quickly if we wanted food. The hostess even took our order, as the waiter was busy. There are a lot of burgers to choose from, and they even have the Impossible Burger for vegetarians. My daughter loved the sweet potato fries, and my burger was pretty good. They also have giant milk shakes and a full bar. A+ for service.

Great bit for starving people, it’s the right size for people who wants to enjoy a wonderful taste of the meat grilled perfectly you can make you selection ingredients to enjoy a perfect and delicious hamburger, the most important is the meat good quality

My wife and I showed up here before a concert at Northerly Island. We were not able to get a reservation online, and walked in around 3:30. There was no wait for us but shortly after the restaurant got significantly busier. We started off with a Mac & Cheese, which honestly I would skip the next time; I didn't find it that good, and the entree is more than filling. The burgers are great! I had the hot and smoky, and we will definitely be back again to try more of their menu!

Three of us arrived after noon for lunch on Monday. We were seated promptly and noticed the background level of noise was perfect for conversation: we could speak to one another without hearing others. We did not try any of the huge beer menu, but wen right to the burgers. I opted for the Build Your Own: angus beef (medium rare), caramelized onion, blue cheese, lettuce tomato.. Sweet potato fries (best in town). My companions tried similar Build Your Owns but with grass-fed beef. Although we had burgers, the menu has a lot of other burger-like options, including duck and various appetizers which we did not try. The burgers were delicious! If they're not the best in Chicago, they are tied with two others: Remington's and Chez Joel. The sweet potato fries are, however, the best I've tasted anywhere. My wife couldn't finish her burger, took half home in a take-out carton. No room for dessert. With generous tip, our bill was just over $55.

My adult daughters and friends went to Burger Bar before the Taylor Swift concert on 6/2. There was empty tables, no hostess or signs. They sat at an empty table. The hostess comes and asks who sat them and they replied no one was there and no signs. My daughter apologized and said they would get up even though tables were empty and the hostess said no not a problem. The hostess insisted that they stay. The waitress came, they ordered drinks and their meal. They received their drinks and the manager (a large Hispanic man) came to the table out of nowhere and was in my daughters face yelling at her. She tried to explain to him calmly what happened and he continued in her face very aggressively yelling at her and told them to leave even though they had already placed their order and was assured by the hostess and the waitress it was ok to stay. While waiting for their check for their drinks, even after they ordered food, the waitress once again said it was ok to stay and apologized for the managers behavior. My daughter said they just wanted the check and As they were waiting to pay the mgr comes back and yell at them a second time. The next morning my daughters told me about their ordeal and I called the restaurant. I asked for the manager, it was the same manager from the night before. I asked for the owners name and contact info and told him that his behavior was unexceptable and how dare he treat any of his customers this way. He became belligerent with me on the phone, interrupted me and tried to explain to me how his behavior was justified. News flash sir…that kind of behavior is NEVER justified in ANY situation! You need to be fired!!!! He had said that their reservations are 3 months out Lol! Yet the other empty tables remained empty for the 45 minutes my family was there.

Went here with friends. Great selection of beers and hard cider. So much choice for burgers etc. Had the pork lollipops followed by a BYO burger. Yum

We were on our way to the Shedd Aquarium but needed lunch first. Many fast food chains in the area but we were looking for something more unique with a real Chicago vibe. This was it. The burgers were excellent. I enjoyed the Wild Bill with bison, one of my sons tried the boar burger and was very happy with it. Lots of great beer choices, too. Fun place and large but cozy in winter.

Food was good/average, waiters are great, bartenders were very rude. I would not recommend or go back.

We came here as we were staying just down the block. I would recommend a reservation if you are going during busy times. They have a really good menu. I had a bacon burger. It was a hand pattied burger that had a lot of flavor and was cooked perfect. My wife had the same experience with her burger. We got a side of onion crisps that were a little cold when we got them, but they were still good. My son had a grilled cheese that he enjoyed the sandwich. The fries were drastically overcooked to the point they didn't taste like fries anymore as the potato was all cooked out of them. The staff that was waiting on us, were getting slammed, yet they took care of the customers despite being slammed and checked in as often as was possible. I really give them credit for doing a great job. Overall the food had a few problems, but it still was a great experience. The burger was great and not something you get at most places. I guess you should expect that when a place is called the burger bar.

I am not a burger lover but this was a lifetime experience! I had a prime burger with provolone and brie cheese with parmesan truffle fries.Everything was delicious! Big portions and super american ambience, highly recommended!

After a long day of shopping, we searched for a place to get a good burger. We decided to get take out on a Saturday evening. The $45 meal included 2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich, 3 orders of French fries, and a shake. We requested the burgers be cooked medium well. They weren't even close. (see picture) My son, who eats a lot of burgers said his was not only under-cooked, it was too salty to eat. If the name of your establishment has burger in it, then it isn't too much to expect it to be cooked correctly. The other issue was the service at pick up. The hostess instructed us that the bartenders took care of to go orders. At the bar, neither of the bartenders seemed to want to wait on me. Finally the bartender from the other side came to take care of my order. Since there was no parking outside, my ride circled the block many times waiting for me to come out. The food was ready. I just needed it to pay for it and be on my way. This probably explains why the food wasn't very warm when we got home. If we had been at the restaurant, I would have sent the burgers back. I regret that I did not have time to request a refund, as we threw both burgers away. My son did give the shake rave reviews, and they were able to accommodate his food allergy.

My husband and I found this place after visiting local museums and wandering around. Everything was good and staff was friendly! The burgers were big and juicy. The sweet potato fries and truffle fries were my favorites and super tasty! The best part was grabbing oreo shakes before we left to wander around Chicago more. Highly recommend this place and will visit again if we come back!

My wife, son and me revisited the Burger Bar on a late Sunday afternoon. Great burgers and fries, great service. The Burger Bar was full, but quiet enough to have a normal conversation. We will return.

These are perfectly cooked burgers with great quality meat. You choose your toppings or select a specialty burger. We had the prime beef burger with carmelized onions and urban sauce which was terrific except that the burger had zero seasoning. No salt, no pepper, no nothing. Buns were like toasted brioche which was a great compliment to the grilled and juicy burger. Wine by the glass selections are good. Service is too. It's one of the best burgers in Chicago but you'll have to ask for salt and pepper or just drown the meat with sauces which I'm not in favor of instead of relying on the quality of the burger itself to shine.

The manager was abrupt and rude in our first encounter. We were from another state and looking for a place near the hotel to watch a hockey game and he was not helpful. Then later I used Uber Eats to order food delivery. When my food came (it was delivered from 2 blocks away) it was cold and there were no napkins. No Utensils. I called and a woman told Me Illinois has a law not to send “unless the patron requests”. How would someone from another state know that? I was told If I wanted to walk to the restaurant they would Give me some. Of course if I wanted to do that I wouldn’t have paid to have it delivered. The food was not good and we will never be back!

My wife and I were driving past this restaurant when a wonderful smell of burgers cooking caught our attention. we decided to stop for a late meal. the burgers we ordered were just OK and did not compliment the aroma we originally smelled that made us want to come in. The service was good, but the server tried to give us someone elses bill which was more. When I brought it to her attention she apologized and brought us the correct bill.

I visited with a friend for dinner on a weeknight and found the place to be steadily busy. I ordered a half pound angus burger and my friend ordered the prime burger. The burger was cooked perfectly and really juicy, but the bun was hard and dry. They give you a lot of meat for the price - $13 for a burger before you add special ingredients! The fries with coarse salt were my favorite part of the meal. I would come back but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

I went into Chicago's Burger Bar on a recent trip to Chicago. I was alone and got to sit in the only window seat; which was awesome! The on tap beer selection is really good. I had a seasonal cider brew; which was really good. I am on a carb restricted diet so I ordered the burger salad with a turkey burger as my protein. It was to die for! I can't wait to return to Chicago and try some of the other items on this burger menu.

We walked from our hotel ( Hilton Chicago) to this place. Full bar and daily specials. We had the bacon lollipops- a special item. Tasty!! We had cocktails from the bar- well made. We also had the Carolina wings ( 12 in order). Recommend for a laid back lunch or dinner.

Their special classic burger with sweet potato chips was great. Also nice atmosphere where one can watch sports broadcasts

Great place to take a break from touring Chicago and shopping. Burgers were great; nice selection of beers. Reasonably priced; staff was attentive, but not overbearing. Would visit again when we revisit Chicago.

It's been a while since my wife and I visited the Museum Campus. On the way, we discovered Burger Bar Chicago, which has been wooing customers with its Build-Your-Own gourmet burgers, craft beers, house-made fried pickles and hand-made milk shakes since 2010. Located at 1150 South Michigan Avenue, at Roosevelt Road, in the South Loop, adjacent to Grant Park and steps from South Lake Shore Drive and the Museum Campus, it is acknowledged as the first Prime burger restaurant in the United States. Open from 11:30 to 10 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 11 on Friday and Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday, it allows burger lovers to build their own. It's the most fun since French fries discovered ketchup. Step 1 -- choose your meat. A no-brainer, we chose a 1/2-pound of USDA Prime beef rather than chicken or grass-fed Bison. Step 2 -- Toppings and buns. Caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato on a bacon brioche bun. Step 3 -- Cheeses and other condiments. American cheese and chorizo relish. Step 4 -- Sides and sauces. French fries and BBQ sauce. With the house's famous fried pickles and deviled eggs with smoked shrimp, candied bacon and paprika cream. Wash it all down with a chocolate three-way shake and a strawberry shortcake shake.

Nice atmosphere. Downtown Chicago. Friendly staff. The burgers were Huge and SO GOOD! The sweet potato fries were perfect. Reasonably priced for what you get. Overall it's a great place.

Very good place, wonderful food, a lot beer, good price. Excelente comida, muitas opções de draft beer, bom preço.

Tasty option in the South Loop, food is great and a big fan of the bloody Marys on Sunday-check it out!

We had burgers that were very good to excellent. The wine and beer selection is quite good, and they have a nice happy-hour. The service was excellent.

We walked past this place after checking into our hotel, and decided we would come back for our dinner. My husband and I split a Backyard Classic burger and fries, both of which were delicious. Our waitress was pleasant, and very helpful, providing us with a couple small samples of craft beers. I saw a couple reviews were people indicate service is slow. I would say this is not a fast food or fast service restaurant, but that's not what we were looking for. Our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. We were looking for a neighborhood restaurant, with good food, where we could just sit back and relax....and we found that at the Burger Bar Chicago by Grant Park.

When you want a decent meal during a convention.... Gorgeous burgers and huge salads. Really liked the dressing on the Southwest salad. Very pleasantly surprised!

We stopped by after going to the Shedd Aquarium. Our kids loved the kids’ burgers and milkshakes. The Wild Bill burger was the best I’ve ever had. The beer selection was also fantastic. The whole family loved the Burger Bar!!

Went here with my brother and had a delicious meal. I would definitely come back! Service was good and we were seated right away. This is near the Shed Aquarium, definitely a good spot for lunch or Dinner. I recommend the Poutine :)

The service and food is amazing! We happened to visit on one of their busier nights w/2 large parties. Even though it was very busy, the front of house and kitchen must have been very organized! We didn’t wait longer for food then I would expect. The service from the manager to our server was well above what I would expect. The food was great. Our family of 5 all found something we liked. Although they say they are famous for their fried pickles, I would argue their sweet potato fries are what everything should order. They were SO good. Def a place to stop for friendly people who know what they are doing and great food.

We had lunch at this restaurant in the South Loop part of Chicago. Beautiful environment in full American restaurant style, huge window completely open, so you can keep the air conditioning off, an aspect not to be taken for granted; maximum cleanliness of the table and of the environment in general, very kind server and dishes prepared in about 15 minutes, we had a double veggie burger, garden salad and a portion of sweet potato fries, with a diet coke. Total cost of around 50 dollars, excellent value for money. Go there!

The hospitality we experienced was truly solid – the staff were attentive and helpful. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! Each dish was a delight. Just a friendly reminder to have patience; good things often take time, and a little understanding goes a long way in ensuring a pleasant experience for everyone.

Group of us went in yesterday after the 8K Shamrock Shuffle hungry and looking for some grub. This place hit the mark and then some. They are a crazy large beer selection, not to mention the food is on point. Started off with the fried pickles and wings, split between myself and a friend. Was so good, I needed more, so I got a burger to go. Every burger I seen coming out looked amazing, and by the time I got home to eat mine, it was no exception, easily the best burger I've had in a long time. Matt the GM was amazing, as was our bartender KG. I'll definitely be back!

The prime rib sandwich, which I asked be served with aus juice, was delicious. However, my significant other ordered one of their featured burgers and it was VERY DRY almost to the point of being unedible.

I only came for the impossible burger and after looking at the menu for 10 mins the bartender told me they no longer serve it. “That is actually impossible.... because we don’t have it. Only place you can get it is White Castle” seemed like a pretty rude way to explain that while I tried to quickly skim the menu for something else I could eat. She could’ve set the menu down and told me what they no longer had in stock that is still listed on the menu the minute I said I’d like to order food but hey🤷♀️ Also, bar stools were too high for the height of the bar so you end up with an awkward half stuck out chair. seems like they might not have a GM because any restaurant veteran would fixes these mistakes ASAP. Otherwise, great beer choices.

Title says it all. Great burgers and extensive beer collection. Good for either. Not much else, Excellent service.

Just not worth it. There was a sign inside the restaurant and on a paper on the table asking for patience as they are short staffed. This did stop me from bothering my server for anything extra. Even the stuff I asked for but never received. I just wish this was posted on their website and we would have went somewhere else. Very average beer menu. Nothing adventurous. Food is average for the price. I assume you’re also paying for location but the inside is very boring. We didn’t get plates for our wings. Any silverware with our meals. Never received my next drink. They did have a sign saying they needed patience though so I guess we were warned. I’d avoid it if I were passing by or in the area.

Went for lunch with my husband and kids. Ordered burgers and fries and I would just say the food was ok. Nothing special, especially for the price we paid. I would suggest Five Guys or BurgerFi if you're in the mood for a burger.

I took my group here when in Chicago for work based on the reviews and ratings. Burgers are good but service was slow and uninterested. Good burgers can be had most any place but what makes you stand out is service with the good food. We had a resroyet there were only a few tables in service. Our waiter was slow and dismissive. Food was good but many beers that were listed were out. It was only 7:30 on a Wednesday. Go here if convenient but not worth making a special effort for.

Had a good experience here for most part. Great beer selection which is always nice. I ended up getting a build your own burger using their Prime beef and while I thought the burger was really good, I wasn't blown away and felt like I should have spent $3 less on the Angus beef and it probably would have been just as good. Also felt a little nickel and dimed on the toppings for the burger. Fries were great and no complaints there. Service was very good for most part. Got a little hesitation from her when I asked for separate checks but she ultimately did it for us which is appreciated. I'd go again as the food is good, the atmosphere is nice and it is close to the Museum Campus.

I was looking forward to a good burger. Well I did get one out of two of those...I did get a burger. I ordered the gyro burger and it was nothing like what I thought it would be. My group ate there another time and I went someone else.

Found this place waking around Chicago and looking for a place to eat lunch. This was delicious!! I highly recommend the burgers and sweet potato fries. The BBQ sauce is superb!!

We had an extraordinary burger at Burger Bar Chicago. Tasty, fresh, nice variety of different burgers and a good beer. (I ordered a spicy one, and I got a spicy one). Everything you want from a good burger restaurant. The service was excellent as well.

All around great experience. Service was fantastic and so was the food. We visited on a Saturday evening and it was crowded but the service wasn’t negatively impacted. Customers around were also really friendly- I had to charge my phone and I plugged it into an outlet under the bar while I was sitting at a table. I went to go get my phone when the seats at the bar where it was laying were taken, but the man there assured me he would keep an eye on it for me if it needed to charge longer- I was very appreciative! And again, the food was really top notch!

I'm sure their other food is also good but it's all about the burgers here. They are amazing, as are the shakes. Portions are large so you definately should go when you are hungry! They were understaffed so service wasn't great, but don't let that stop you from trying it.

We had a party of 6. Four adults and two kids. The restaurant itself is decorated fun..We ordered 2 appetizers..delicious fried pickles loved the sauce that came with, chips with guacamole...super spicy but we enjoyed them. 4 burgers were all yummy, 2 salads were fresh and delish. We had several different age groups in our party and everyone was happy so that was a plus:) We will definitely go back again!! Thank you!!

Good selection of food and drinks. Had to have the burger, it was good, not great. Service wasn't very good. We didn't get to see the server much. Plenty of other options available so I would try another place before going back. Again is was good but not great.

you can design your own burger good quality fresh salad good and friendly service nice atmosphere it was my fifth visit here - and not my last.

We have been there with a group and had a nice dinner with really good burgers. But the fries where a disappointment and not crisp at at all. The beer selection was nice though.

Group of 20 women received very good service (waitress didn't even grimace at separate checks; she was a pro). Everyone's burger looked good but I went straight for the brownie dessert and was not disappointed 😊

This was only a few yards from our hotel and I found the food and beer to be very good indeed.IThe place had a nice ambiance and the service was also very good.

Food was horrible. Rancid black, dried food. Called to complain and was threatened. I called their corp offices. No response. This is the kinda place that’s not safe to go to

Totally great and efficient service by server Gare! Made it easy to get in and out. Great beer list, nice happy hour for apps and beers (4-6p). Had the special duck burger with duck bacon, brie, crispy sage and arugula - very tasty! My wife made her own burger starting with the grass-fed beef patty (and no bun) and some veggies on it. We will be back!

Impromptu stop in for lunch during the week. Seating was ample, staff was great, nice selection of bar offerings. The burgers were on par and the appetizers were great. Garage doors open to the sidewalk create a neat space open to the south end of Grant Park.

Went here a few days ago with my family of four. All of us absolutely loved our burgers. My daughter and I built our own burgers. Swiss, cheddar, and bacon was excellent! My son had the Mac and cheese and it was delicious. Best Mac and cheese ever! We would go back here in a heartbeat if we were from the area. Great beers too!

Stopped in for a burger and a beer and had the best lunch! Burger was super juicy and cooked how I liked it there was so much goat cheese on it. The sweet potato tots the perfect balance between sweet and salty. Great selection of craft/local beers.

Burger was under cooked. "Hand cut" fries were cut and cooked DAYS ago. They definitely were not cooked after we ordered. Grass fed burger was salty and the classic burger was nothing special for $12. Our server,Jake, was very good. Thus not impressed with food

I had a build your own, my husband had the Urban Diner. I also had a boozy Snap, Crackle, Pop Shake and my kids split a triple chocolate. NOTHING disappointed. If I have ever had a better burger then I do not remember it. Our only disappointment is that we will have to wait until our next trip to Chicago to get this burger again! It is a little pricey, but it is worth it. Great location. Great prices on kids meals.

What a GREAT place. The beers on tap are awesome and well priced. Food YUM!!! This is a must to eat at if you are staying in this area. There were two separate areas to sit at, but pulled up a stool at the bar. The bartender was so nice and provided great service.

We had a group of 13 and made a reservation at 5 o'clock and the table was ready for us when we got there. That was the best part of the meal though. It took some time for us to get a server and he was not very good during the whole meal carrion refills came slow and it took a long long time for him to take our order a. Once he did take our order it took a long time for him to entered into the computer which was right next door table because he needed to get a manager to help him perion the menu is a paper menu and on it it says that fries come with all burgers. There was an incident where they were out of bison meat soul away or had to come back and retake someone's order who had ordered the bison and he said that fries did not come with the burgers. We asked to speak with a manager and the manager looked at the menu where it was taped and he said that that was definitely a misprint. Even though it was printed at least twice on the menu. When the person a party re ordered they were given a whole different menu that was not paper and was in fact a Tri fold plastic menu. She said that there were a lot more options on that menu than the one we got. Not sure why that is. I ordered a powerhouse veggie and it was not very good. My wife ordered these shrimp Burger and it wasn't very good either. The fries were OK. The fries are indeed extra. It was very very expensive we thought for a below average meal and below average service.

I try to hit local spots when I travel, and avoid the chain restaurants that I can eat at when I am at home. I also avoid over priced fancy places...just not my style. A good burger and a beer will do just fine for me, and Burger Bar delivered. The food was great, the atmosphere was great and so was the service. Far enough from the tourist area of Michgan Ave to be a local spot, it was the perfect place to eat dinner after a day of exploring Chicago from the north to the South. I am a picky eater, and often my fairly plain food gets done wrong, but my order was correct.

What an experience... Burgers are HUGE and GREAT TASTING and their on-tap beer selection is phenomenal, so hard to decide what to drink next. I opted to stay with local brews and those from around the Midwest area, and they had so many great ones to choose from. If you go here, go hungry, or be prepared to share meals, because this place does not disappoint you.

I Love this place! Fantastic beer selection with friendly, knowledgeable bartenders and good food moved this to my must visit list whenever I'm in Chicago. Try the truffle fries!

Went to Burger Bar before Stones show on Tuesday. It was crowded, but they seated me after about 30 mins. Once seated I was never rushed and there were many people waiting. We ordered our drinks and had time to enjoy them before our orders were taken. Once taken the food arrived in a reasonable time considering the place was packed. Only problem burgers were not well done per our request. Mentioned to server and food was taken away and replaced with exactly what we ordered. I had the Urban Diner, very good, and the egg was perfect. My husband had the Smokehouse he did not realize that this came with a burger patty in addition to the smoked brisket. He was pleasantly surprised. The fries are excellent, wish they gave you more, but we love fries. Overall an excellent choice if you are in a mood for a good burger.

We visited late one evening for a burger and shake. Both were delicious. The chocolate 3 way shake was the best! The atmosphere was interesting and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The only downside is that it is a bit expensive for just burgers and shakes.

Great range of craft beers... reasonably priced for City.. Burgers were EXCELLENT!!! Sweet potato fries a must!! The mac and cheese was a bit of a disappointment; needed much salt; no taste

Husband and I are here since it was close to our hotel. We each had a beer and split a bisson burger with egg and bacon... very good. The sassy wings were amazing though. Definitely recommend!

Food was great, the staff was great as well. Judy and Sheridan were a great help. The ground chicken burger was surprisingly really good.

Place is awesome and craft beers are really nice, many options in the menu. I ordered a medium rare burger but they didnt do that. They sent me a well done. I complained, the waitress said sorry and nothing more. Anyhow, its a nice place to eat.

Spontaneous find with a hungry crew. It was clearly very busy with limited staff (like everyone is experiencing) but they took amazing care of us. We left full and very satisfied! My one regret is not ordering a shake…they looked amazing!

Nothing excemptional. The burgers were fine but nothing to set it apart. We came here after a day at the Adler's planetarium.

We were very pleasantly surprised that Burger Bar had one of the best burgers we've ever had anywhere! There are several choices, including somewhat exotic burgers. The prices were extremely fair, and we will definitely return when in the area.

If you EVER find your self around the corner of Michigan and Roosevelt, either after a day at the Museums, Grant Park, or Soldier Field do yourself a favor, stop into the Burger Bar for a Beer and a Burger - one of the best of both in da world...I'm Serious! We stopped in for a Bloody and a Burger on a Sunday and boy were we blown away - I had one of the best burgers I've ever had! Being 57 years old and 240 lbs I know of what I speak, prolly 10,000 burgers in my life. - I had a Rueben Burger, the leanest, most flavorful corned beef i've ever had! Comes from a local South Side deli (Kraut came with it) and a special sauce that topped it to perfection. The Bloody Mary, again, was one of the best I've had (which was'nt made by yours truly). If you are in Chicago's Front Yard, head South a little for the best burger you've ever had.

Service was terrible if you even call it service! They have a notice saying they are a big restaurant with a small staff or something along those lines. I guess that makes up for not getting any attention! Good luck having a question our server didn’t have any time for that. I said “I forgot the name of the beer” of course the don’t have an actual menu on the table to check so I pulled out my phone and she just took off and didn’t come back for about 10 minutes! Wasn’t crowded for 4:30 but you would have thought there were 20 tables full with how little she came to our table. We over heard another employee apologizing to another table and explaining the lack of service. You’d think for $27 for a just ok premade patty burger and fry they’d have enough to pay for more employees! Definitely added to my avoid list in Chicago!

The burgers was delicious but the Parmesan truffle fries were the best fries I've ever eaten. Great casual atmosphere and delicious food, great service. I recommend the bison burger with arugula and goat cheese and definitely splurge on the fries.

My wife and I and 9 other family members were in Chicago to attend our granddaughter’s graduation from the Illinois College of Optometry on May 19th. The graduation was held at the Chicago Symphony Center on Michigan Avenue. After the mid morning graduation we were seeking a convenient casual place for lunch. Our granddaughter who had spent the last 4 years at ICO in Chicago recommended the Burger Bar which she was familiar with. We had a party of 10. The selection of Beers & types of Burgers was great. The fried pickles as a group appetizer was well received & enjoyed by all. The food was great and the service was fast and efficient. If you visit Chicago be sure to give the Burger Bar a shot.

We ate here before a concert and barely got a table, but luckily we got there when we did. There was a 30 minute wait when we came in and got our names on the list, then when we came back to get seated they had a 60 minute wait and stopped taking walk ins altogether. I had the veggie burger and it was a little spicy but good. Pretty good service as well considering how busy it was. It was a sports bar atmosphere. Not too bad for a decent dinner or a few drinks. Probably best reserve a table ahead of time just to be safe.

We enjoyed our visit, place was busy, food was good, although the service was a little slow. We'd go back!

Try the Fireball Burger or the Al Pastor Burger for a great taste sensation. The Poutine Fries are fun to try, too!

We visited this restaurant as post event lunch for my daughter's volleyball team. The manager was very accommodating for our large party of teenagers and adults. The staff handled the large group well. The food was amazingly good. They have many options for the perfect burger that you are looking for. Additionally, they have a huge selection of both draft and bottled beer. Overall, this is a great restaurant. However, like everything in Chicago, you can run up a pretty high tab in no time. Just know that going in and enjoy. You will not want to miss this place!

This is a favorite spot for our group. They raved about the deep fried pickles and the do-it-yourself burgers. I had a backyard grill burger, which was nice and juicy. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere was very comfortable, the level of music was perfect for talking and the service was terrific. I also like the t-shirts that they sell. Extra points for the following: We were a table of 7 and 4 of us were arriving later because the person we were taking a cab with messed up on the address - it made up about 10-15 minutes late. I am very grateful that the hosts allowed the three other people in our party to sit - they were able to start in on their drinks in comfort until we arrived. I would have been unhappy to know that they were left standing at the entrance because of our unexpected lateness. When so many restaurants enforce a "wait until the whole party arrives" policy strictly, it showed a good spirit of hospitality to allow our colleagues to be seated. I look forward to returning and I would highly recommend the Burger Bar.

I had a very tasty burger with caramelized bacon, which was delicious. I had a seltzer they make called Mas Agave Seltzer. Service was ok, but not great. Slow bartenders just wandering around, while the server waited around for the drink.

We wanted burgers, and this place was listed as being one of the best around, so we got an early supper on Thursday night. There was no wait, and there were about 6 tables still open. We got water poured quickly but then waited for longer than we wanted to get a server's attention. By this point the kids were really hungry, so I ordered the poutine appetizer which was good but not amazing. We ordered the gravy on the side and were glad as we liked keeping the fries crispy until dipped in the gravy. The cheese curds were completely melted into a dollop of cheese in the middle of the fries and were not what I was expecting. The fries had good texture and a nice crunch with good seasoning. Each of the kids got a make-your-own burger and they liked the flavor and consistency. I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and was hungry for it, but when I bit into it the bun was not toasted but was burned and had an acrid flavor. I had to try a couple times to get the waitress's attention, but she did eventually get to me and bring the obviously burned bun and the rest of the burger to the kitchen. About 4 minutes later my burger with one bite out of it was back with a non-burned bun. I was disappointed that there was not much more than a "here's your burger - sorry for the issue" reply to the burned bun. So, good tasting burgers but service and attention to details were sub-par.

Stopped here for lunch and had a delicious burger. Fun place with plenty of seating a wide selection of beers. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Excellent food selection and we founded all beers that we like it. Definitely, all what is required for good start for dinning experience. Our food was delicious. Atmosphere is pretty warm. Noise level a bit higher, but can be handled. Cleaness is not a top priority and should be better. Service was a the weakest part of our dinning experience. Servers looked lost in the crowd, forgot to bring items several times in row including silver. Hot sauce didn't arrived neither after four reminders!!!

Burger Bar is just around the corner from me, but I'd never gone. Our more adventurous friends tried it for lunch and were impressed, so we all four (two couples) went there for dinner, Friday evening. We reserved at 5:45 PM and were seated fairly promptly. Burger bar has closely spaced tables, hard walls and hard ceilings that fail to dampen the background music, an assortment of blues and classic rock. It's a little dark and too loud for quiet conversation, but it is, after all, a brew and burger place. We saw several families, some with infants; the noise level didn't seem to bother them. My wife went for a "build-a-burger" which lets you select ingredients to put on, like red onions, tomatoes, lettuce. I opted for the "big shoulder" burger (medium rare) with caramelized onions and blue cheese, which is a few $ more. Choice of regular fries, chips, sweet potato fries or salad. I chose sweet potato fries. I have to tell you my burger was the most delicious one I've had for a very long time. The patty is thick and juicy inside and slightly charred outside. Served on a terrific "pretzel" bun. The sweet potato fries were also superb. Another in our group tried a Mac appetizer and a Southwest salad, which came without one of the stated ingredients: corn. Not a big enough deal to fuss about with the waitress. Service was good; our glasses were kept filled with water. Nice draft Sam Adams lager. Reasonably priced; under $25/person with tax & generous tip. My wife took home half of her 1/2-lb burger and most of her sweet potato fries. She preferred my burger with caramelized onion to her build-a-burger. They've got lots of other variations of the burger theme, including a shrimp burger. We were too full for dessert, but they have milk shakes and other ice-cream-derived desserts.

I always go here when on business in Chi Town. Tonight I found it disheartening. First, Judy the bartender / wait staff needs a serious attitude adjustment. She should NOT be representing this restaurant. She is abrupt and downright RUDE! She threw a menu at me when I asked what kind of dipping sauce they had. She was so mean to the couple sitting next to me that I felt embarrassed for them. Now the burger. I ordered a medium burger and what I got was a very well done, dry tasteless burger. It was so well done, it was gray. The manager was too busy tending to his friends, never once got asked how my food was. Manager was too busy hopping and sliding over the bar. I'll skip burger bar on my next trip. I used to rave about this joint. Oh yeah, took 15 minutes to get my dipping sauce because the waiter was chatting it up at the bar with a pretty gal

We were a group of about 40 that ate just before the Women's soccer game at Soldier Field. They were quick to get our order and the food came quickly as well. Burgers were great. Friendly service.

Was craving a burger on my last night in Chicago and walked in just after 8pm. We literally sat at the bar for 20 minutes without service!. We we’re getting up to leave when a lady finally asked if she could get us something. We asked about dinner options and possibilities of takeout, was asked to scan a QR code to order. Then she came back and informed us the kitchen was closed. After wasting our time and not even getting a beer, we left and went to the Elephant Castle where the service was great and the food was FANTASTIC! Skip this joint and make the jaunt to Adam’s street,, Really disappointed with the lack of service at the Burger bar. Will not try again since I found The Elephant Castle!

Dined here my first night in Chicago. Bar like atmosphere but would recommend for families. We had a reservation but arrived early and were quickly seated. The waitress was great and had recommendations, the sweet potato tater tots which I had and were amazing. Variety of craft beer on tap and plenty of TV's to watch any sporting event you want.

My spouse and I went there for lunch. We had the french dip with a salad and a burger with fries. The service was fine typical of these kind of establishments, nothing especial. My french dip was okay. The salad was really good and fresh. Although the meat of the burger was of good quality, the burger was too greasy and the fries soggy and greasy as well. In all the experience was average at best. This is another middle of the road restaurant. We probably won't return.

I used to live in the building next door. I wish this had been built before we left! Plenty of different beers to choose from and the burgers are tasty!

We were the first to sit at 11am when they opened on a Sunday. Service was good, burgers were really good.

What an incredible find; the food was amazing we had the chicken wings ; the bison burger was amazing … do yourself a favor and have lunch or dinner here!!

Fourth or fifth visit and the food as always was fantastic. Would have been five stars but our server was lifeless and provided less than average service. We will return again but hope for a better server when we return. By the way we sat at the bar.

I love the atmosphere of this place. When I think of a Chicago burger place this place comes to mind. But it’s not just a cool place they also make one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. It was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. They have a really good selection but I chose to build my own burger. I also had there strawberry shortcake shake, which I added rum. I can tell the shake was really good, but having the rum added put it over the top. This place is a little further down on Michigan ave but it is worth the trip. It also may cost a little more but believe me it is well worth the cost.

My husband did enjoy his burger and I had Mac and cheese which was average at best. The worst part was the service was extremely slow. The waiter kept telling us thanks for being patient. Not sure what was holding him up since it was not busy or full at the time. He paid much more attention to his other tables. We were constantly feeling like an afterthought and the constant "thanks for being patient" was annoying. The price was good and it is a good place for a casual burger meal if you are patient.

On our recent trip to Chicago, my husband and I and our good friend decided on something "easy" before a Styx concert at Northerly Island. I'm a planner so even for "a burger place" , I made a reservation for an early supper because of all the buzz I'd heard about this place. Good thing I did! They were slammed at 4:30 when we walked in and getting even busier as we were ordering drinks! My husband and I tried some of their Chicago brews at the suggestion of our server Rudencio (who was super-busy but spot-on!) and our friend went "wild" with a vanilla shake! We started with some chips and guac---okay, but probably should have tried some of their more interesting appetizers. While they have signature burgers for all tastes, we chose to "build our own burgers". My husband ordered "THE" Bacon Cheeseburger; I ordered their signature prime burger with bleu cheese, avocados and mushrooms; and our friend ordered their grassfed burger with bacon, bleu cheese and crispy onions. We had parmesan truffle fries and sweet potato fries. Cooked to perfection, these burgers are some of the best around. The buzz is true----merits a wait if you have to!

The urban and smoky are the burgers to have. It’s like they slaughter the steer on your table and loaded with toppings. Their wings are meaty and season the best I’ve had. Try the triple chocolate shack! This fat sumo just broke the scale!

Plenty of delicious options to choose from including my favorite homemade meal - the Burger Salad. Would love to try everything on the menu if I lived in Chicago. Lunch rush on a Monday was with minimal staff and yet we were served with a smile and with top notch food.

I ate here for lunch. I ordered a "build your own" bison burger, and it was delicious. I also recommend the truffle fries.

We landed in the afternoon from England. Our first night and we didn't need to go far from The Hotel. This Burger Bar was close. We looked at the menu and it really is a challenge as the list is fantastic. My wife had The Basckyard classic and I had a Hot & Smokey, we both decided no fries as looking at other peoples orders they where big. It was delicious and very filling. A great array of craft beers, what more could you ask for

Phenomenal burgers. Fantastic beer list. I had a fantastic martini (or two). Wish there was one back in my hometown.

We were looking for a place for lunch and found this place! Great Food!! We had he shrimp burger which was very good. But our favorite was the turkey BLT! Delicious! The salty bacon with the sweet chutney was perfect! Would highly recommend the Burger Bar in Chicago

These burgers are massive -- you either have to cut them up or squish them and hope they fit in your mouth -- but every bit is worth it. Their specialty burgers are expertly topped, and we could've eaten here gladly every night of our stay in Chicago. Good truffle fries, and a great beer selection, too!

Casual ambiance, packed house, good service. Burgers were excellent (1 beef, 1 chicken). Fries with parmasean were great. Recommend this place!

My daughter graduated Columbia College on Saturday 5-13-`17(YEAH YEAH YEAH) She wanted to go here for her dinner party. It was 8 ladies(including her) from Dallas, and we were hungry, though the graduation was at 10am, we didn't eat until 130p(we had reservations) Thank God because people started coming right after we arrived(lots of people). WE were seated towards the back, its more room than it appears from the outside open windows and we preceded to order our drinks(a couple teas, 1 beer, 1 vodka, and 1 crown royal, the rest waters) I ordered the shrimp burger, a lot of shrimp with avocado too, very good, my daughter had a fire burger, lots of ground meat on top of burger meat(spicy), my sister in law ordered something with bacon(and the bacon was very thick), I cant remember everything but sis Williams had mushrooms, carmelized onions and etc on hers. Everyone had something different than the next, and everyone got full to the max. The whole table enjoyed their meal, only 2 took a to-go. I had sweet potatoe fries, my mom sweet potatoe tots, my sister had a salad with hers, 2 people had homemade chips. We sat another 30 min after eating to digest and get up enough energy to walk again without holding our full stomachs. The atmosphere was good, the service great.

The beer choice here is excellent and our server gave us some good suggestions. We really enjoyed our burgers and I loved my truffle fries.

Delicious food excellent service and close to Soldier Field. Great place to stop in before a Bears game. 2 big bars and lots of seating so wait isn't a problem. So many beers on tap and the burgers are tasty!

Stopped in here for a quick bite before the game and were blown away by the burgers! Had the Barbacoa burger - probably best burger I've ever had!!

Simply a fantastic restaurant! We have eaten there as a couple, 4 people, and even as many as 9 and Team BB has always delivered! Chef and Team definitely know how to grill the food as when you request a medium-rare and your friend wants well-done the burgers are delivered to your exact specs. The liquor selection, especially the local beers (they even have hyper-local beers, brewed in Chicago's own Motor Row) are delish. They seem to have a direct pipeline to the cider houses in Michigan too! Far too many varieties to mention, without doubt you'll find something that satisfies. I ordered the grass-fed burger, cheapest burger on the menu, and it was excellent! Top it with your favorite add-on's and the Parmesan truffle or sweet potato fries and you're good to go! Special shout-out and thanks to our favorite server, Rudy, who always delivers and makes excellent recommendations. It's truly a not-miss for we carnivores! :--) Patrick

If you like a spicy bloody Mary, go see Judy!! O-M-G .. it was the best EVER! Their burgers were incredible! If you love chicken wings, you absolutely have to go here. It's worth the $ and the service was outstanding.

Enjoyed a great lunch at The Burger Bar, just 10 minute walking distance from The Field Museum. The beer selection is broad and includes local brews. Husband ordered the bacon burger- delicious and cooked perfectly rare as requested. I ordered the veggie stacker-it has a great mouth feel with creamy goat cheese and avocado…what’s not to love. Be sure to try the Tobacco Onions-crispy fried onions nicely seasoned. The only thing better than the good is the service. Bailey is great-knowledgeable, friendly, efficient…she rocks! I’m sure the place can get really busy during sporting events, but on a January weekday lunch it was quiet.

We have been here a number of times and the burgers are certainly very good. They used to come with fries, lettuce & tomatoes. Now you have to pay for all the extras, even $.25 for lettuce and +$4 for fries. I understand extra for a gluten free bun, but once you build your own burger the cost can be crazy. They do have ones to choose from that are less made they way they list on the menu. The bar is great and their are many cocktails as well as the traditional beer and wines.

The burger selection was great! The shakes were delicious and our server was wonderful. Great location close to Soldier Field and all the south loop attractions!

really was hoping this would be a fantastic find. i can't really rave about it.... but i can't knock it down either. its just one of those middle of the road burger joints. nothing special. nothing terrible.

We were looking for a burger place close to our hotel and found this one on trip advisor. Our server Nate recommended the bison burger which was really good- it had goat cheese, tomato jam on a pretzel bun. There are several other options on the menu including prime or grass-fed beef, lamb and bison. Several beers on tap as well as bottled options. Go hungry!

Best burger I have ever had and the fried pickles were the bomb! Waitress was a sweetheart! Will go back for sure:)

We stopped in the Burger Bar for a late lunch after going to the Shedd Aquarium. We were intrigued by all the unusual specialty burgers but opted for slightly less-expensive Build Your Own burgers. My husband added crispy onions and habanero BBQ sauce to his and I added pepper jack cheese and siracha aioli to mine. Juicy and tasty half pound burgers. Equally satisfying fries - hubby enjoyed regular fries and I ate every single one of my sweet potato fries. Yummy all the way around! The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating was that the buns were a little over-toasted and the salt level was a smidge too high. But we would definitely eat there again.

I'm not going to say that this was the BEST burger I've ever had, but it was a solid close. Definitely choose the sweet potatoes with ranch as a side. They were amazing. Our kids split a milkshake... they were a bit on the watery/milky side, but our kids didn't complain. We also really enjoyed the wings and the beer selection. It was the great end to a rainy and cold day.

Had a great lunch while in the city. Lots of choices for both food and alcohol. Service was good. Would recommend.

My son and I went to this restaurant on our recent trip to Chicago. Everything about our meal was average. I ordered my burger medium and it was medium rare, but that was ok with me so I didn't complain. It was fine, but I've had a lot better. I built my own burger, maybe if I'd ordered one of their creations it would have been tastier. Salad was nothing special, fried pickles were ok, and my son said his mac and cheese was bland. Service was fine. Unfortunately everything just ok.

Burgers are build your own so you can pick your choice of meat, bun, toppings and sides. Large choice of beer. Vanilla shake was great.

Second annual visit to this great burger joint - one again I give it an enthusiastic 5⭐️ rating. Hubby built his own beef burger-it was cooked perfectly rare and served just as he ordered. I ordered the January special, Resolution Royal, a vegetarian patty with creamy goat cheese, onions and roasted red peppers…totally delicious and satisfying! The onion straws are crispy and nicely seasoned. The bar offers a wide selection of beers on draft. They have Coke products also. Did not have room for dessert….next time. Also want to visit the Photo Booth next year-I am intrigued by the hundreds of photos wallpapering the halls.

Great bar. Good choice of craft beers. The build your own burger menu is a great idea. Fantastic service from Monica. Thanks again.

The place next door, where you are welcomed friendly and find decent food paired with many local drafts for a fair price.
This review is simple: Great Burgers - Nice Beer Selection
I don't know if it's the beef they are using or the grill, or what. All I know was that I got the biggest juiciest perfectly cooked barely medium rare burger I've ever had (and, yes, I've had lots of burgers). Add to that a great selection of beers and the rest of it doesn't matter. Service was good. Next time I'm in town I'll be there.
