Burgerville rocks

By shewholovestoeat |

Love all the local food sourcing. Great food, staff and selection. Milkshakes rock. They are my fave burger joint!

Delicious for a late night meal

By tanya d |

We were staying in Hotel Eastlund and needed a late night snack. Burgerville hit the spot. It's a local chain that offers good quality fastfood and treats there employees well. Highly recommend!

Quick Service

By Kinnies_10 |

My daughter enjoyed 2 meals here and both were according to her picky palate...delicious! She had the chicken strips both times with fries. They were hot and fresh.

Yummy

By married12015 |

Best milkshakes! Quick service. Delicious hamburger, and fries! A little more expensive then other fast food places, but worth it.

Locally sourced fast food

By Melissa H |

Locally sourced ingredients with vegetable sides that change with the season (asparagus fries were on the menu during my trip). The dairy used for the cheese on the burgers & for the ice cream in the shakes is from local Tillamook farms. Upon arriving in Portland my cousin, a local, said we had to get a fresh strawberry & Tillamook ice cream shake. So good, I picked another one up on my way to the airport departing from Portland.

Onion Rings and Berry Shakes! Oh, My!!!

By Paul W |

Clean and comfortable, with courteous helpful staff. Delicious, satisfying variety of burgers But the wonderful sides are not to be missed. The sweet battered onion rings were brought to the table hot. They were not greasy. We enjoyed every morsel. And the berry shakes (in season) were simply outstanding. Also, a very good value. Worth a detour.

Great burger; nice place for kids.

By Michael M |

My two sons love burgers and their favorite when they visit their Aunty Laura in N.E. Portland is the local Burgerville. Good quality burgers that make a pleasant change from McDonald's. Try it, you will like it. Focus on quality and decent service.

Fast and good food

By Katie G |

Yummy food and really yummy shakes! Very friendly and helpful people. My mom asked for an extra thick shake and they made hers perfectly. Yummy fruit shakes and well as more dessert type shakes as well. Really crunchy fries.

Surf & Turf

By Donnie H |

I had a Tillamook Burger and the Halibut Fish & Chips with Rosemary Fries. Awesome mix for an awesome night out.

Great Regionally Owned Fast Food Business

By Barry G |

Convenient for recent visit to Portland, OR. Ordering and service was fast. Very good food for a quick lunch meal.

Burgers, fries and a shake!

By McFerrid |

Nice big bun and tasty sandwich. I got the tillamook sandwich aka cheeseburger. Fries are good. I avoided the shake because of calories but it looked great. Roomy restaurant and not too noisy for a fast food joint. They bring the order to your table which is nice.

Awesome burgers!

By Diane L |

These burgers are excellent- big and tasty at a good price. The restaurant had a 50s -style theme with a jukebox and seating at the counter. The staff was very friendly and fun. The place was clean and the service was fast.

A great local Burger at Burgerville

By SiimonAussieKiwi |

I’m on a 5 day whirlwind trip from Australia to USA, and I’ve committed to ONLY eating classic American burgers while here. Have a look at my other burger reviews! I ordered a No. 6 Burger, and as they state it is made with local grass-fed beef with 2-year aged cheddar from Face Rock Creamery Oregon , and finished with a brioche bun using local wheat. Then it was two slices of tomato, extra pickles (no charge) , red onion, mayonnaise. The bun top was toasted dark brown and the patty medium . The meat was (only very slightly) drier than I am used to, and the bun itself with the mixed wheat had a slight wholemeal taste but this was a nice change . For US$9.79 was well worth the visit and overall a delicious burger .

Healthy Lunch

By Irma Rose F |

After stopping in for a tea on the run, we decided to come back and try their salads for lunch. They were the perfect size and healthy too. We really liked them would eat here again!

Quick

By simpleyme |

This is very close to the modal center so this is a great cheap quick option, but it closes at midnight so you may be out of luck if your show gets out late. We got there 15 minutes before closing and got our order in it was really good fast and felt extremely cheap after buying food in the modal center! But I would eat here anytime of day. We will for sure be back.

Absolutely Delicious!!

By drgnflysha |

The food here is incredibly fresh and delicious! I had a berry shake, which was amazing, a pepper burger with thick cut bacon and an amazing bun, and fabulous French fries. The staff was friendly and was even able to give us some directions to where we were going. Great food!!

A Pleasant Surprise!

By RobLaurich |

First off, being a New Yorker with the best burgers in the world at Shake Shack, I had my doubts about Burgerville. Yes, the burger was good, but where Burgerville shined is with its other menu items. The milkshakes, fries and fish sandwiches were amazing. The quality of the food is not your typical fast food. That being said you will pay more, but it is well worth it.

Wild Alaskan Halibut? I don't think so !

By DrumBum57 |

Lesson learned I guess. Don't buy fish and chips from a place with "Burger" in their name. After a long hot day putting Ikea furniture together for our daughter while visiting Portland, she suggested we stop here for some fast food. Yes. the Raspberry Lemonade was great, but in a "semi-coastal" community, at least one on major river and with a port, I expected half-way decent fish and chips. What I got, was not even half-way decent. I've had much better fish and chips out of a box from the frozen food section. They claim they serve "Wild Alaskan Halibut" but this was more like some sort of nondescript processed fish, of unknown type and origin. If it was halibut, the processing ruined it. It was breaded in what seemed like a corn meal breading (I wouldn't begin to call it a batter) that was basically tasteless. This was obviously an "out of the freezer and into the deep fryer" creation the taste and texture of which was barely palatable. I only ate it because I was very hungry. I was so disgusted with my meal that I never asked what my companions thought of their burgers. We'll be making frequent trips to Portland to see my daughter, and this WILL NOT be on my list of places to eat.

Great breakfast sandwich and fresh strawberry shake

By Kyle T |

Well I think the title speaks for itself. This location was quick on the 3 occasions we visited while on vacation. Clean and reasonably priced.

Always a good value

By Ken K |

We love going to Burgerville when we are in Portland. They don't have any in Seattle. The seasonal specials are my favorite. I had the pulled pork w/cherry coleslaw and fried asparagus w/garlic aioli dipping sauce. They were excellent.! Don't forget the strawberry sunday!

Great burgers

By Jackrg35 |

We like to stop in to Burgerville any time we travel out to the Oregon coast. the burgers are great and the sweet potatoe fries are fantastic. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are just right.

Retro diner atmosphere. Great burgers!

By Fencin |

In town for the USA Fencing Junior Olympics. The staff saved our seven person group a table and our waiter took great care of us. The burgers are made fresh and are very good. Equally important, the restaurant implements many environmentally friendly practices. We had dinner and breakfast here. Service for both meals was fast and friendly

Best fast food around

By Tina K |

Burgerville uses local seasonal foods for their menu. Their Walla Walla onion rings in the summer and their strawberry shortcake in the spring are both 'can't miss' items. This is the only place I go for fast food because I don't feel guilty or sick afterwards. Local company supporting local farmers is a plan for success.

Came for B'fast Not Burgers

By MI_Single |

Local chain burger joint. Walk up to the counter, place your order, plunk down your $$ and wait for your food. They bring it out to you rather than making you stand in line or call out your number. I went looking for breakfast rather than a burger as there weren't many options for breakfast outside my hotel's restaurant. Place was clean and bright and that morning, employees outnumbered patrons. You pick selections from a menu board and they make it to order, no "stuff" sitting in a chute. I ordered a breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. There's only about 6 options for breakfast. Both my sandwiches were very tasty and hot. The burrito was quite large, not like the tiny burritos you get at many fast food joints. I felt I got my money's worth and would have gone back again for breakfast or burgers had it not been my last day in Portland.

Late night fast food

By westcoast778 |

I opted to get takeaway after a basketball game as it was on the way back to my hotel. The line was pretty long but the time passed quickly as I was using the wifi provided by the restaurant. The menu features a variety of your standard fast food burger/fries combos. Prices were comparable to a McDonald's or Burger King. It's not a place I would recommend but if it's late and you're hungry it will do the trick.

Get the Berry Shake Before It's Gone

By Rogue Shopper |

Substantial burgers, nice and juicy with all the trimmings. The berry shake was out of this world. Love the local, sustainable vision of this place, reinforced with photos of and statements from food providers. Wish we had one near by...

Tasty and satisfying

By Ferrgus19 |

I liked Burgerville so much I ate there three times during a four-day stay :). Everything was yummy and filling (a Burgerville breakfast kept me going all the way to dinner on the day I flew home), but I particularly enjoyed the shakes -- pumpkin was the specialty when I was there, and it was delicious. Love that they use fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, too. The prices were not terribly out of line considering how good the food was; in fact, they were similar to what people here in Vancouver, BC pay for a good burger and sides. In general, some of the best fast food I've ever eaten.

Busy and worth the wait.....marginally, due to the long wait, but food was all good quality and tasty

By zHojo |

It was busy on a Saturday at lunch time and so even after waiting through the long line and ordering, it still took another 10-15 minutes before we got our burgers. The pumpkin shakes were excellent as were the sweet potato fries and the dressing that came along with it. It's sort of the Portland Oregon version of Inn-N-Out but on a smaller scale. All those folks lined up weren't just sheep jumping on the latest thing but a good wholesome cheeseburger and sides.

Short trip

By 808stephaniee |

Great turkey burger. I knew I was only going to eat there once and asked for a suggestion. The turkey burger was great with the fries and their special sauce.

A great burger without spending a lot!

By Barry P |

Actually I was a little skeptical because there are so many places to buy a burger. My burger was very good and my "strawberry shake" was excellent! Loaded with fresh fruit. I even tried the asparagus which are "lightly breaded", they were a little costly for them but they tasted great. For fast food, this was a very positive experience!

Favorite Place to Get a Gluten-Free Burger

By SassyGirlJenna729 |

Every time I want a burger, usually I come here. They have gluten-free buns available, and my particular favorite is the turkey burger. I also love to get one of the seasonal shakes, with whatever fresh fruit they are offering. The quality is always very good, and the service too. My first choice when I want a burger.

Fast, but not good service

By MCPOUSNrtd |

Used to be my only choice! Like the quality of the product and understand the age and skill set of most of their workers, but how hard is it to wrap a burger without smashing it to look like it has been under the seat for week. If you are one of the most Spendy burger joints in town, it should be for service as well as food quality. Oh yeah, a MochaPerk should have SOME mocha TASTE! Otherwise it's just an expensive chocolate shake. Gave this place several try's but until they get some quality control, I'll eat elsewhere !!

Excellent burger, friendly staff

By Justin Q |

I stopped in after flying in for the Indian Creek fire. Long flight and no breakfast made for one hungry man. I ordered the peppered bacon cheese burger with fries. The burger was awesome. The fries were good, but I wish I'd have tried the onion rings. They looked amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. The only downside was the price...over $10 for fastfood lunch.

yummy

By Roy S |

food is great and the burgers and sauce delicious....great place for a family....reasonably priced...good family atmosphere

Good burgers at a good price

By jde1953 |

I had the standard burger with Walla Walla sweet onion rings (apparently a seasonal thing). Service is fast, the people are friendly and efficient, and the prices are entirely reasonable. Within walking distance of the convention center. Worth going to if you crave a good hamburger.

Seriously? Oregonians Love This Chain?

By Commci |

Ate at the Lake Oswego store today. First time visit to the chain. Seriously wish I hadn't. Certainly won't ever ever ever again. It reminded me of White Castle on the East Coast 40 years ago with larger grey burgers.... my advice: DON'T. DO. IT.

Hot and fresh.

By Ancientjim |

This visit reminded me of the "old" Burgerville. The burgers were hot and fresh. The secret sauce was abundant, and the fries were fresh out of the cooker. Well done guys. The only thing you could have done better is to leave room for soda in the cup. It is not that hot out to melt a cup of ice.

Seasonal foods

By jcarolgentry |

Burgerville is a great NW secret. Always fresh food and seasonal favorites. Went for the Rosemary Shoestring Fries. Their shakes always the best. This place can spoil all the other fast food places.

Yummy burgers and lots of other goodstuff

By Travelizgood |

On our 4 days in Portland, we ate here twice. For dinner the first evening, the food, especially the hamburgers were fast and good. The halibut ordered by a group member was dry. The next day we went for an afternoon snack of milkshakes. They were yummy and provided a cool treat on a hot day. Good local chain.

Nifty joint!

By Thomas G |

Man I love Burgerville. This one is pretty upscale and cool looking too. As always, solid food at solid prices (And by solid I mean a little more spendy than you'd think, but it's local and fresh) I enjoyed it and they were open late on a Tuesday which was a bonus!

Great burger, Great service!

By Benjamin R |

I had a group of hungry friends to feed, and found this Burgerville to be a great solution. A local friend recommended this location. It is the first time I have enjoyed a Burgerville, and I was delighted. I indulged in the double burger, and shared an order of deep fried battered asparagus, which was quite a treat. This is a bit upscale compared to a BK or McD for sure. The food was excellent, perfectly prepared, and very satisfying. I was reminded of a similarity to a Culver's butter burger in the flavor, if you are familiar with that chain of restaurants. It was obvious that this beef was high quality. There is a sense of quality and pride in the product. The shakes are fantastic! I had the fresh fruit in season, which was Oregon strawberries. It was fresh, full of flavor, and well worth the cost. I wish there was a Burgerville near to my home... The staff were all very helpful, highly efficient, and pleasant to deal with. I think the manager took my order. He was professional in his demeanor. I did not feel rushed, or silly asking questions about the products. The young man who served our food could not have been more happy. What a great place!

Great fast food establishment that fills you right up

By Joe K |

When I was staying at the Inn at the Convention Center in 2/2017, I walked over to Burgerville a couple of times for some burgers & fries and a milkshake. Very well cooked, went down great and prices were nice. The restaurant as you can see in my photography is well kept and seems appropriate next to the Mota Center, the Oregon Convention Center, a Trimet MAX Line stop and several hotels. Highly recommend.

Good burgers/shakes

By tdk191 |

Very good for fast food. Prices are right, service is quick. Shakes are delicious. Good, quick inexpensive meal.

Clean and Neat Fast Food Resto

By martha p |

First of all, I like the place. It is clean, neat and bright. Then I liked the food. The simple oatmeal becomes delicious with its companions: brown sugar, chopped almond and dried cranberries. I tried the vegan burger also. It is delicious, but a little more salt will make it superb.

Best sauce ever!

By Janice H |

I love the Burgerville sauce! Yummy! Only dislike is the strange guy who likes to disturb customers!

Quick burger and shake

By CaptainGordon |

Looking for an alternative to the typical fast food burger joints. Super friendly staff. Was hoping for something like In-N-Out, ...but meh, that's not going to be found at Burgerville. Still, a decent burger and very clean joint.

OK Meal

By 17larryy |

Typical fast food. The "wild halibut fish and chips" is your usual fried fish and french fries. Service is take-out only.

Excellent Beef Burgers

By casey w |

This outlet is famous for its beef burgers as the are locally sourced. The beef is simply tantalising to the tongue. It was done well and it's one of the popular local burger haunts.

Really good burgers!!

By kimbirdy |

Best burgers we had in portland!! This will be a favorite of ours when we come back to visit!! Service was fast and with our large order there was no mistakes made!

Good burgers and more with locally sourced ingredients!

By Nostranger2u |

This time around, I especially enjoyed the halibut fish and chips. The breading is light and flaky and the fish is good. Topped off with a fresh-in-season shake and Walla Walla onion rings is a great meal! It is a bit pricey but the food quality is better than the national chains IMO.

Burgerville always does well

By KJ9000 |

I always enjoy food at burgerville, and this one was no different. Locally sourced foods, freshly prepared and good service. Multiple people had just come in, only 1 cashier was working, before I knew it 2 more were opened to take care of everyone quickly. Burger was prepared quickly, fries were fresh and Hot!!! Milkshake was cold and refreshing. It may cost a bit more than the average fast food, but the ingredients make the difference as well as being freshly prepared. This location has lots of seating, and can get very busy during events, such as the parade.

Burger what?

By MASTERPC |

My first meal after flying into Portland (and Oregon for the first time) was a very forgettable one. The burger meat itself was about as bland as the dummy-downed McDonald's meat offerings. The fries were yummy rosemary shoestring so that was good and the service was polite. Decent retro setting but the burger, although on a super fresh bun, was a big (actually, it was not much meat at all, either) lackluster letdown.

A good fast food burger for those that are not fans of fast food

By DocHarrisHHI |

Stopped here for a quick lunch while driving at my son's suggestion. I have not had "fast food" in decades so I was skeptical. The burgers were freshly made and the fries were crispy without being greasy. The shakes and smoothies are excellent as well. The environment is "retro-60's, juke box and all. I still am not a fast food fan but will definitely come back to Burgerville when I need a quick bite while on the road.

Good Food Mute Service

By johngM6161PP |

Great menu and burgers as usual, but Rachel L at the front counter did not greet us, repeat our order back to us, ask for here or to go, say thank you or anything. This person obviously didn't want to be there.

Food ok service is curt and poor

By helena218 |

The burger was ok at best. Trying to explain to the server that we only wanted aoli on the burger was nearly impossible. The sign showed it had aoli, she swore up and down they don’t serve aioli and she didn’t know what aioli is.... we gave up and just had the burger as is. Ordered a peppermint shake (the one they had on special for the holidays) and instead got a mint Oreo shake (which was delicious but not what we ordered). Combine all this with the fact that I swear not of the people who work there smile or look at you, and that they walk around with an attitude like you are lucky to be in their presence, I’m not too likely to eat here again unless I’m desperate for food.

Oregon Native says GO!

By contented-trekker |

The biggest treat at Burgerville are their seasonal milkshakes and smoothies. The burgers are very good; but the fresh strawberry or raspberry shakes are the best. Always ask for double the amount of berries.

Needs more Farm Fresh Products...

By Luvzog |

The french fries were marginal, I heard the garlic Parmesan and/or waffle fries are excellent but not offering. They are known for their Farm Fresh specials. I got the Tillamook cheddar cheeseburger, however the cheese was not melted, flavorful meat – all and all good burger. Walla Walla sautéed onions were the best part. Actually I take that back the Blueberry milkshake was the best part – it is too thick to suck through a straw but use a spoon - fantastic. Really enjoyed watching "The Love Boat" on MeTV via a large flat screen by my booth – fun.

Even the Fast Food in Portland is Good!

By pagesixtyone |

Burgerville is a minute or two away from the Oregon Convention Center, which is how I ended up there with a new friend who suggested having dinner together as we stood outside the convention center. She had gone there the night before and said the food was pretty good. The guy behind the counter was friendly and chatted a bit with my friend, which was especially nice for us as visitors to Portland. I was happy to see that there were non-hamburger options and had the Yukon & White Bean Basil Burger and an order of fries. The burger was delicious! I didn't realize until later that the food at Burgerville is locally sourced and that part of the menu is seasonal.

Order rings and raspberry sundae!

By csrockclimber |

The Walla Walla onion rings are extraordinary! Thick and crispy and scrumptious! We had the large order for the two of us, but we each should have ordered our own...so yummy. Raspberry sundae is spectacular. Only have one size....so if you love them as much as we did, order 2 each!!!

The best hamburger of the world!

By TanaraEv |

I love burgerville, specially because all the ingredients are produced in Oregon, is delicious, my favorite one!

Good burger for the price and it filled my stomach.

By Kram |

If you are looking for a decent tasting burger with generous fixings get the Tillamook Cheeseburger. If it is a couple 2 burgers and 1 fry is enough. If you are big eaters you will need 2 orders of fry's.

1st ever visit

By Budwiezer |

Staff was fiendly food was good, although hamburger was a bit dry. I liked that they didn't charge extra for secret sauce.

Horrible walla wallas

By Navigator68309276097 |

Went for the walla walla onion rings always a summer highlight but a complete disappointment. Way overdone, to the almost burnt stage & had been sitting around so long the onion was reduced to a ring of slime.bever will go again.

Decent Place

By Geraldine M |

This was walking distance to the hotel I stayed in (Courtyard Marriott Portland - Downtown/Convention Center). The burgers were okay. The patty was smaller than anticipated, but I liked the fries. My friend had their lemonade and LOVED it. However, whoever said this was the In-N-Out of Portland clearly has never had In-N-Out. It's more like McDonald's or Burger King.

They use local food when possible~

By TerminationDust |

I like getting cheese made in the state on my burger - and I love having local strawberries in my shakes and on my sundaes and shortcake! Because Burgerville supports our local economy, I support them! When I want 'fast food' and I am in Portland, I make it a point to go to Burgerville~

Good burgers, great waffle fries!

By VJD505 |

In a nutshell... they serve really good burgers, the place is clean, service is quick... but for three people we dropped about forty bucks... that's a bit pricey for burgers... otherwise, I recommend Burgerville!

Food tasted off

By klwomick |

After a long day of walking around, I stopped in for some food. I ordered the chicken fingers thinking I couldn't go wrong with it. While the staff was friendly and the food quick, i was less than hungry for my food after the first bite. I'm not sure if it's a Portland thing or not but my chicken fingers tasted like they have been battered in maple syrup and while this might be a good things for some people, it wasn't for me. The fries were pretty good though.

Try the seasonal milkshakes!

By Maura C |

Price, local food - what's not to like? Best milkshakes ever! Very friendly staff. Invited me to have a cup of water while I waited for my takeout.

Finished with this location

By googalicious1 |

There was a long line at the drive-through, so I went inside to place my order. Halibut sandwich, fries and sauce. While I waited, I noticed the person who took my order at the cash register back by the fryer. At least three times, she reached into the fridge(or freezer?) gloveless, pulled out onion rings or filets and dropped them in the basket. Another gloveless worker used her fingers to position cooked fries in a plastic basket before taking it to someone dining in. The workers making sandwiches in the kitchen were wearing gloves, at least. When my order came in a paper bag, I looked to make sure it seamed right, and it did. When I got home a few miles away, I opened the wrapping and saw that I had a hamburger instead of a halibut sandwich, and a sloppily put-together hamburger at that — wilted lettuce on a soggy bun. Times I’ve gone through the drive-through, I never had these issues. I might drive through other locations for a cold brew bliss-shake now and then, but this experience very much soured me on Burgerville as a place to order food.

Only fast food I will eat

By SSTraveler77 |

I refuse to eat fast food...with the exception of Burgerville. Their food is local, sustainable, and tasty.

Outstanding, delucious and wonderful

By Joel M |

What an amazing hamburger. Enjoyed the Wallowa burger, the Number #6 burger and the Veggie-Bean burger. Outstanding hamburger. One of the best I have had. Truly enjoyed our visit.

Really good breakfast food!

By Kathy |

Had the sampler type of dish that has a little bit of everything, and it was just what my soul needed. Great pick me up in the morning, just the right amount of everything and those tater tots... My goodness!

Very good local favorite

By Qpgmr |

If you're up for fastfood burgers in Portland, there's only one destination: Burgerville. It's not cheap, but the food is fresh, tasty, and well prepared. The restaurant was always clean and neat and the service several steps above what you'd expect from a drive-in. The burgers aren't quite as good as In-N-Out, but I wouldn't consider going to a burger king/mcdonalds after trying Burgerville!

Farm to table burgers

By peanutsNewYork |

This is not your typical fast food burger place. They specialize in farm to table cuisine and the burgers are really good, especially when you add an order of their walla walla onion rings to your meal! They even have milkshakes.

Downtown quick food

By CavemanHHH |

Clean place, great food. The customer service was outstanding. Close to hotels. The had a very nice menu with lots of choices. I loved the seasoned Turkey burger the first day, then a chicken sandwich the second. The soda stand let you chose from many many types drinks. Very family friendly. Lots of locals eating here. Only regret is there I not one where I live. They do have a no meat choice.

Only Fast Food Digs for me.

By Michael M |

Founded in the Portland Metro Region, the sourcing of products and the way this modest sized chain is managed makes it the only fast food place I frequent.

what is with the fry sauce?

By ESTA B |

We have enjoyed Burgerville for over 25 years. But if there is one thing you could do to improve the quality of your products, it would be to get rid of the fry sauce!!!!! It is a mustardy glob of yuck!!! Please, please try a new product. What is wrong with a true "fry sauce", some kind of mayo and ketchup mix??? Please consider it as that mustardy crap surely can't be very popular. It is gross!

Tip before you get terrible service

By Mark M |

Terrible, I get tipping for good service but this place hands the card reader to you with paper taped over buttons that direct you in leaving a tip. So yes they want a tip before they service you. Oh and this is in the drive through. Then you get your burgers and the cheese isn’t even melted, they’re cold. But hey at least they got a tip. Never go there. Terrible service and food.

Won’t be going back

By Anna L |

Was so disappointed in our 45$ meal here! The hamburgers looked like they were assembled in a ring toss, the sauce was virtually non existent on the burgers, burger buns were stale, the fries were cold, greasy and tasted like day old fish and chips. The halibut fish and chips were teeny tiny! Definitely not worth the price! Burgerville, you guys have priced yourself out of the hamburger market, and your food isn’t high enough quality to justify you sky high prices! So sad, since I live your seasonal strawberry shortcake, even though it is outrageously priced!

Fish Sandwich

By Laura P |

It was a joke! Less than an 1/4" thick, dry, and the lettuce was wilted. I expected more from a $5 sandwich. I will never eat at Burgerville again!

Pretty tasty burgers!

By YankeeOne |

Had to do a quick lunch while at the Portland Conference Center and this place was close. Nice find! Service was great, burgers very tasty, great buns and nice hot fries. I don't frequent fast food burger joints a lot but this one impressed me. Would recommend.

Good Burgers

By WGJ49 |

I tried the burgers at Burgerville near the Convention Center while attending a conference. Burgers were good and service was OK

Field trip

By Winston S |

I wish you guys would build a Burgerville in Medford Oregon. I live in Medford now but I used to live in Portland Oregon and their food was amazing at that Burgerville there in Portland. Burgerville is the best burger chain I've ever tried ever since an eight year old kid.

Best strawberry milkshake ever!

By Ambience B |

Yes its another burger place... but guess what the fresh strawberry milkshake made with fresh strawberries was amazing... Oregon is so blessed to have such wonderful orchards and vineyards that getting a supply of fresh fruits isn't hard.. Thankfully this fast food restaurants take advantage of their local produce !! Kudos!

Hello Milk Shake!

By Khadem B |

I had there with friend's wife who born & studied in this City, finally my met her here! She introduced me this place. Very taste burger & size wise fits for me as well. Perfect size, good value, delicious, very authentic. Milk shake- awesome- wonderful one in my life. Pls don't miss it.

rated burger joint

By maggie a |

Its unusual when drive thru burger joints are listed in dining guides but this is even with one star. Food is far superior and more imaginative than others. Service is excellent by folks who have been trained and understand.

Just another fast food joint

By Ray R |

The interior was definitely a nice and comfortable place to be. It reminded me of the old 50s/60s interior so that was nice. My girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken salad and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo. The salad was very, very good! I wish I had ordered a salad instead. The burger was okay, but it looked and tasted like processed meat. The fries however were very good. Overall, it's fast food, so if you're hungry and want something fast, it's a different place to go.

Locally sourced,,and non major chain should I say more

By josh |

Ok,, it's a burger joint BUT they were able to tell me which farm my beef came from, they can tell you where ingredients for each seasonal shake comes from, for me that says a lot. Love the fact it's a lot cal chain not some major chain and that love cal businesses are supported.

Delicious

By piratejosh76 |

Had the pepper bacon cheeseburger. It was delicious. The bacon was cooked just right, the burger perfect. The seasonal red raspberry milkshake was amazing. There were even pieces of berries in the shape. Absolutely delicious.

Burgerville serves bloody shavers in their french fries. True Story.

I'm very sorry to tell you that we found a BLOODY, DIRTY SHAVER in our fries. We went through the drive through, and my 78 year old mother pulled out a disgusting shaver straight out of her french fry bag. We tried to get Burgerville to do something about it, as we've been disgusted with the thought of fast food ever since then. An insurance agent contacted us on Burgerville's behalf and accused us of making up the incident. Burgerville Corporate did not bother to do a thorough investigation and did not apologize for the incident. Don't kid yourselves, Burgerville in general, and especially THIS particular location is NO DIFFERENT than any other restaurant. I will never be eating at Burgerville again. I have no idea how the shaver got into the food, but something is VERY AWRY if that was capable of happening there. God only knows what else is in their food. AVOID!

Love this place

By Tegge |

Good food, quick service and the soda pop machine is computer controlled so you get to add all these wonderful flavors at no extra cost. Lemon Diet Coke rocks!

Lunch made my way

By CrystalGwilliam |

Eating out with dietary restrictions can be down right difficult and frustrating. Burgerville offers great options of delicious food. I had a lettuce wrapped burger, no cheese or sauce with a scrumptious raspberry lemonade. The meat was well cooked and locally sourced - tasted so much better than the typical fast food burger. The store and bathroom were a little unkempt. But the food was great!

This could be your comfort food!

By 492sandy |

With a name like Burgerville, you would expect to get some of the best. Friendly and attentive staff is always a good thing and I was not disappointed here. The menu has lots of choices for your appetite and the shakes, while not the thickest, will keep you slurping away. The fries were hot and crunchy like I want them and the cheese burger will have me coming back when I travel to Oregon.

Excellent burger for late nite snack!

By Rose K |

Went through the drive thru late, Very good burger, fast service. Bun seems different than the cheapo places.. very good!

Great for vegan and gluten free

By Alicia D |

I had read that place is vegan and gluten friendly and since I was staying across the street, it seemed worth a try. From the outside and when you walk inside, it seems like nothing fancy and even may feel questionable but the food was honestly delicious. I ordered the Plantville Cheezeburger and it actually tasted so good! Vegan cheese is not easy to nail but they picked the right products for sure. I didn’t realize the bun wasn’t gluten free so had a regular bun but the fries are gluten free so that was comforting. I was impressed with how fresh everything tasted for a fast food restaurant. Would come here again!

Best quality Fast Food burger

By BeachNBreeze |

I came off a late night arrival at Portland International Airport having last eaten a full mean of garbage burgers in Cancun airport 8 hour earlier. I was so happy they were open before mid-night when I arrived and was able to take in a large burger and shake. The difference in taste from 8 hours earlier!

A Burger Place

By Grant F |

Stopped in Vancouver location with family on a Sunday afternoon. Had the spicy veggie burger - wasn't bad but not really spicy. It was nice to have spicy mayo as a dipping sauce for the french fries. No Coke Zero - had to have Diet Coke instead so that was disappointing.

Asparagus french fries! Seasonal item.

By marygdds1 |

Went through the drive thru. My Portland daughter recommended the Seasonal Asparagus French Fries. They were very hot, very good and deliciously different! They are locally sourced from the Yakima Valley.

A positive Burgerville experience.

By Doug A |

I'm not sure why I had a negative feeling about "Burgerville" but this restaurant certainly reversed that. It is very handy for meetings at the Oregon Convention Center and, in spite of large crowds on meeting days, they move you through very quickly. Food is excellent with more variety than expected and the shakes are among the best around. Try the raspberry lemonade in season now!

Nice place for a burger

By Silrad |

We ate here twice while we were staying in the area. Try the green beans--they're very good. So are the salmon and fish burgers. Even the cheese burgers are a step up from the usual fast food. Enjoy!

No bang for the buck

By CandiandRon G |

Tried this place based on reviews as well as it being close to the hotel at which we were staying. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I glanced at the menu and had to do a double take. The prices are high! 8 bucks for a combo meal and another 2+ bucks to upside it? Holy crap! Almost $4 for three onion rings? Gadzooks! Well decided to give it a go. The food came and we dug in. The burger was a bit on the small and plain side although it did taste good. The onion rings were huge and tasted very good. Fries were fewer than I would like for the amount of money we paid. Overall i consider this place a poor value. I really didn't feel like I got good bang for my buck. For that reason we won't be back.

Love Burgerville!

By Nan H |

We never go south without stopping at a Burgerville! The service is great and the regular cheeseburgers are a favorite.

Wrong salad dressing, luke warm food, just overall not good

By Private N |

Terrible service, screwed up our togo order, did not include straws or silverware for salads, wrong dressing and it was awful! Cashier said no seasoning on waffle fries but she lied. Burgers was not good. Overall it was a poor excuse for a Burgerville. Our shakes were not good either. Huge waste of money as we threw most of it in the trash!

Better quality fast food

By Stephanie S |

Good selection of better-than-average fast food. A great option if you're an event at the Convention Center, just a few blocks walk.

good for a fast food chain

By Christy212121 |

We went there after arriving at our close by hotel quite late. The service was good and prompt and the food (burgers and chicken fingers) tasted better than in most fast food chain restaurants.

Strawberry Shortcake!

By Gretta M |

I wait all year for it. To me, its the best thing on their menu! I give it 5 stars! There food in general is always fresh and its hardly a long wait.

great services

By ryanjoseph94 |

great services and i will go back any time and great fries and burger and i give them 100 point good place for quick bit of eat for lunch or breakfast

In between sit-down and "fast food"

By Robert H |

Burgers were excellent, and staff was awesome. A definite "cut above" the usual fast-food type burger. They claim to use meat/dairy/vegetables from local sources that don't use hormones, antibiotics, and other nasty stuff.

Disinterested staff, food not of a good standard.

By SamStokie |

We called at this branch of Burgerville expecting at least reasonable quality from a local chain extolling the virtues of locally sourced food. We each ordered a 1/2 lb burger with NO bunch and a green salad. When the burgers arrived they both had a bun. When we pointed this out they were taken away and returned later with no bun, but also almost cold. At this point we cut our losses, ate up quickly and left having learned that being local doesn't make you better than Dennys when Dennys are trying harder.

normal visit

By Kyesnana |

Love eating at Burgerville a little expensive but worth the Onion Rings. Burgers are awesome too.....

Not just your average burgers!

By Karen K |

I was able to get something vegetarian…a delicious Anasazi bean burger! Busy place means good food. There was nothing I disliked with this establishment.

Tasty burger joint

By Monica O |

Tasty and close to our hotel, The Hyatt Regency by the Portland convention center. Burger was good, fries weren't great, but their milkshakes are to die for!

Just another burger joint

By TbonethePhotographer |

My wife and I tried this place for the first time and I probably wouldnt come back but on a rare occasion if I was starving. Not very friendly staff and the tables were dirty. The food was OK but nothing to write home about.

Not up to standards

By Travelmanics |

Stopped for lunch after the Golf Show at the Convention Center. Got my order wrong but I caught it before I paid. Some drinks are made/dispensed at anther counter. Took almost 10 minutes before I got my lemonade. The burgers from the same order came at different times and we're just warm, not hot when we got them. The person delivering could not tell us which was which even after reading the poor handwriting on each burger. Burgerville is normally a good place to go but this day was way under their normal standards. I hope I just caught them on a bad day.

I Ate Here Several Times During My Visit

By Hardrocker8888 |

I ate here several times during my visit to a Portland. I tried the cheeseburger and chicken sandwiches. Service was quick and easy. Staff were friendly.

Great reputation

By MaggieHenrietta |

It may have been a one off but my pulled pork sandwich was way too sweet. The appear to use local and seasonal foods. Friends loved the strawberry shakes.

Popular Place

By Tamara D |

This burger place had a fun, friendly vibe- food was great, crowd was friendly. Right across the street from the Max Rail & the convention center & a block away from our hotel.

What a refreshing place! Don't let the name fool you...

By BarbaraandThoma... S |

Burgerville? How about not one, but TWO vegetarian burgers? Turkey sandwich? How about a turkey burger? The half-salad, wonderful. And the cost, the cost... $13.43 got me a burger, a side of fried asparagus (WOW!), and a half salad. Well worth stopping to eat. Only gripe? This place has a small parking area.

Kicking it up a few notches.

By mclundy2000 |

Burgerville sets the standard for fast food in Portland and they have the best fresh strawberry milkshake I have ever had. Well done guys.

Very Good Cheese Burgers

By Roberto C |

This place has very good cheese burgers and it is very clean. The servers are nice and friendly and the prices are also very good. We were glad that it was walking distance from our hotel. They have many good selections on their menu. We will eat here again when visiting the area.

Something

By SoCal16 |

Went for ice cream shakes, they were okay. Noticed typical stale fast-food smell when we walked inside.

Happy to have came back in Sept 2017

By Joe K |

Came back in September of 2017 to meet a friend and have a late dinner. Got my meal to order - and a milkshake to go. Awesome, clean establishment. I'll keep coming back when I'm in Portland.

Vastly overpriced

By Aaron M |

First, I want everyone to know that I think that Burgerville's food is good. However, the price that they charge is ridiculous. These are the prices I would expect at a sit-down restaurant. The food is good, but it still tastes like fast-food. I would recommend taking a pass and either going to a nicer place or saving some money and going to a less expensive place.

Average fast-food

By TravlinNacho |

We were at an event at the Oregon Convention Center and needed some food. Burgerville was nearby so we tried it. The food was OK but nothing special. The Walla Walla onions were a better choice than the fries.

amazing Northwest Berry milkshakes

By flyingtraveling24-7 |

when Northwest Berries are in season you have to go to Burgerville for a burger and a Northwest Berry milkshake. as soon as you walk in the door you are inundated with the smell of blueberries - the service is quick and the burgers are good but the Northwest Berry milkshake is unblueberrybelievable!

Just what we craved after a long flight

By Monique N |

On our first visit to Oregon, we were hoping to find an In N Out after we got away from the airport, having had s great experience in California with that chain. It was not to be, but we were not disappointed in our discovery of Burgerville! Lots of options of burgers and sandwiches (including fish, of course), excellent HOT fries, an amazing special sauce (kind of like a mustard-y Big Mac sauce) and fast, friendly service. Even better, it seems Burgerville sources fresh seasonal produce. At this time of year it was strawberries, and the strawberry shortcake, with options to add ice cream, frozen yogurt, or whipped cream) was delicious.

Best Fast Food Around

By hifivesrock |

I am not typically a fan of fast food. But, when in a pinch and requiring a quick meal on the go, Burergville is my first choice. It is great that they emphasize and use local ingredients and their spread is unique and awesome. However, all this does come at a price. That is the one drawback of Burgerville....very pricey! I could go to a regular restaurant for about the same price I pay here.

Delicious! It's the IN and OUT of Portland !

By JetSetJessa |

This place is delicious! Absolutely love the fish sandwich fries - cheddar burger and the green beans ! It's a bit expensive for a burger spot but the food is fresh and you can tell! Only thing is the burgers are always a little cold

Good enough!

By Joshua M |

Way better than any other fast food restaurant. Good burgers, a bit pricey but way better. It's worth a stop but don't expect an In n Out.

Fast food with a flair!!

By brendi934 |

Better than fast food!! Tillamook Oregon cheeseburgers, blackberry milkshakes when in season. Fresh strawberries featured in ice cream dishes when in season. Fish and chips, Oregon bleu cheese and apple salads!! Yum!!

Great burgers, great service

By Phil D |

It's got the feel of a old dinner, but it's a fast-food joint. The burgers are great (for fast food burgers), they have a lot of unique choices like the Wala Wala burger. Their staff is incredibly friendly, and their shakes are great.

Surprisingly good fast food

By J G |

It’s not quite as good as In-n-Out, but it’s way better than most burger chains. The burger meat is tasty. The milkshake is particularly good. It’s near the Convention Center.

Late snack

By Henry B |

We were looking something to eat that was a bit fast and had a good taste. We were not disappointed on choosing this place. We had a some burgers, fries and a seasonal shake. They were good and fast. Service was fast as well.

Friendly Staff, Clean

By OHhorses |

Stopped in for a quick bite. Friendly staff, clean facility, reasonable prices, fast service and the fish and chips were delicious. What I like most are thier business practices of buying local, using free range beef, recycling and the utilizing of renewable energy! WAY ahead of so many other businesses in the U.S. Thank you!

Not much for Vegetarians

By Helen711 |

My husband and I ate here twice and both times had the "Build Your Own Burger" Beyond Beef. It came with fries, but we upgraded to onion rings (99 cents more). Our first order was "to go" and Cage, our server, was friendly and helpful.

not Starbucks

By someone_from_redmond |

I found an advice to try milkshakes in Burgerville. They said it is an Oregon specialty. We took some. Nobody could finish. It is not a milkshake but a frozen condensed milk. It is too sweet to drink. It is nothing comparing with Starbucks frapuccino. It explains why they could not extend their business out of Oregon.

Onion burger

By aggiedog1 |

The burger was so so, adequate parking, convenient location. The milk shake was good. Walking distance to the convention center.

For fast food this place is awesome

By TerisTravels2 |

Great, locally sourced fast food. the Berry shakes are the best, but they are seasonal. As are the Walla-Walla onion rings. short season but good.

This is what fast food should be!

By PeaceSalaamShalom |

Made return visits to this burger joint with a 50's vibe during my week in Portland! Great vegetarian and vegan options! Also the usual burgers and sides. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices are very reasonable. Milk shakes with fresh fruit. Use locally sourced foods. Family friendly. Wish we had a Burgerville where I live!

great burger, fast

By Marion F |

i saw this place by accident, it looked like a old school diner, which intrigued me. The cheeseburger was good, the sauce that came with it, amazing, which as you can purchase a bottle of it separately, they are well aware.

Puts McDonalds' to Shame

By 845richardn |

Burgerville is a west-coast chain that knows how to deliver a great burger, fries, and milk shake. The pulled pork sandwich is also great. Had their coffee shake and berry shake on two visits while attending a conference at the nearby Convention Center. Keep the higher price, less satisfying food in the convention center, and head two blocks to Burgerville.

Just stopped in for a shake

By Donald R |

They make one of the best fruit shakes I have had anywhere. The burger looked good, but I opted for just the shake. Great taste. I would go back just for the shake

Healthy and tasty fast food - for real

By Forcrane |

If you need a break from the higher end PDX restaurants and food carts, it's hard to go wrong at Burgerville. They use local food which is sustainably produced. Offerings include salads, burgers (veggie, turkey and beef), shakes and smoothies with your choice of ice cream of yogurt, fried items beyond potatoes such as asparagus and Walla Walla onions, a much larger selection than other fast food places. These restaurants are part of a local chain started in Vancouver WA. The sit-down Burgervilles are clean and comfortable, and staff is super friendly. My 95 year old Mom loves Burgerville and you cannot ask for a better recommendation.

Decent Burger, but no In 'n' Out

By Ian E |

I was hoping it would be on a par with In 'n' Out. The food is OK, but not 'gourmet' as listed in some ratings.

Great shakes near the Convention Center

By SkyDragonfly |

This is a local and sustainable business from what I'm told. I liked it a lot given what's available near the Convention Center. Service was exceptionally fast the first time I stopped in. The chicken sandwich and delicious shake were fantastic. I can't recommend the hot cocoa there though. I stopped in when it was busier and I was asked if I wanted whipped cream but I'm not sure they added it. The hot cocoa was too too hot so maybe they had. Even after I let it cool and didn't add anything like ice or water to cool it down there wasn't anything special about the cocoa and the one. I do recommend the shakes and food. I liked the place during my convention.

Great Fresh Local Food

By kaywaldrop |

I like that the food is locally grown and mostly organic. It's Oregonian and there are seasonal special depending on fruits and veggies in season. My favorite fast food restaurant anywhere!

Slightly sketchy neighborhood, but restaurant is fine

By Steve4241 |

About a block from the MAX station and convention center. Read the other reviews here, and was a bit concerned. Food was fresh and well prepared. Certainly a notch above the big chain fast food places. Neighborhood may be sketchy after dark, but when the sun is shining there's no issue. A lot more variety than the typical fast food joint. Note that sweet potato fries do not exist here, but the regular fries are well cooked and very fresh.

Great food as a welcome to Oregon

By eileen k |

We left home in Phoenix at 4:30 am and arrived in Portland around noon. After getting our car and beginning our drive to McMinnville we decided to stop for lunch and liked the looks of Burgerville in Tiegert so went inside. THe plac was super clean inside and out and the service was friendly, prompt, and attentive. So often it's tough to fnd a clean table in a fast food restaurant these days but none of that at Burgerville. The tables were clean and staff even took trash away as we finished food and lingered over our drinks. They did this in such a way that we felt pampered and not rushed. Wow - pampered at a fast food joint!

Good food

By gardengal9996 |

Fresh ingredients, good choices for gluten-free as well. Convenient to Convention Center and hotels.

Wow- a nice suprise

By Bigfork1 |

The drive thru line was packed, so I figured it must be good - I was right! I ordered 2 cheeseburgers, a fry, and a strawberry shake. The line moved fast, the food was fresh and delicious! Not your ordinary fast food joint!

Very good fast food burger

By phvi2617 |

This is a local fast food chain in the Portland area. There are several different options for burgers, and I had the Northwest cheeseburger, which was surprisingly good. The fries were a little overcooked, but fine overall. Prices were reasonable.

Miss Burgerville USA so much!

By James M |

Was in Portland for just a day, and had a few extra minutes in my day, so went to Burgerville USA. Was awesome as usual! I caught the end of the waffle fries, and am looking forward to the next side special over the holidays on my next scheduled trip up There!

Raspberry lemonade 😋

By scrappinbug |

On our way home from Portland we stopped here for lunch. Had the tillamook burger basket—- not too shabby. But the lemonade!!! Hand made with crushed Oregon raspberries and lemonade, O M G!! An amazing refresher for a hot summer day 😘

Worth the Price

By 127renaej |

Expensive for fast food but better quality. Good service. Everything tasted great. Even the ice cream looked amazing. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

Great Food!

By Rhonda V |

I wish that they had the Walla-Walla Onion rings all year round. *Sigh* I have to wait until they are in season. It's a bit on the pricey side for a burger joint, but always yummy.

Expensive for average burgers and fries - great milkshakes

By VoyageConsciente |

Great concept with fun, retro restaurants. The service is good. The food is average. Lunch for four people ran over $35 for burger, fries and a few shakes. The shakes were the best part by far. The food is locally sourced and is minimally processed for fast food. Definitely points in that arena! With a little more attention to the preparation, this place could be much better.

An upscale McDonalds

By puzzlegal |

Except for the salmon items, this has the same menu as McD, except it names the origin of the beef and the fish. Still, it was pretty good.

Cold food dry buns

By Pam T |

Service was quick but the breakfast sandwiches we ordered were only lukewarm. The bun it was on was so dry it was hard to swallow. All I ate was egg. Did not have any sauce on it. A little mayo would have been nice. We were sitting by a lady who had a cheeseburger. It was so cold she ate a bite and threw it away. McDonalds would have been so much better🤮

Quick And Friendly

By Rachel V |

Had dinner with the hubby and a friend. The staff was friendly and the burgers were delicious. Wish they didn't charge extra for fries and a drink, no combos. Other than that, great to try once.

Good Burgers!

By Chris B |

The Burgers were excellent! the atmosphere was great, a good family burger place. Super quick service, fantastic location, for a quick bite before heading to the Moda Center.

Best fast food ever!

By Charlene R |

When we are in Arizona for the winter, besides our kids and grand kids, we miss Burgerville most! Not kidding, this fast food restaraunt uses local ingredients and has the ultimate shakes with a fresh option when berries are in season. They not only have delicious burgers but fresh halibut for their fish and chips. The wait staff is well trained! You can tell the difference. The dining room is clean and pleasant. The one we go to on Stark Street in Gresham even has a cute '50's theme. Overall a great fast food experience!

A literal 2 hour wait

By Sippi L |

If something special is going on ANYWHERE around this Burgerville, they only offer a couple things and they have a 2 HOUR wait.

Came back again after 18 months and no line this time

By zHojo |

Had a Tillamook cheeseburger with lettuce tomato mayo and was quite pleased though I thought the burger was a bit small. Should have also gotten the rosemary shoestring fries, perhaps next time. Small chocolate shake was very good. Total $8.75. No line at 1pm on a Monday afternoon.

The Best Fast Food Burgers in the World

By alexander336 |

In and Out Burger has nothing on Burgerville! Burgerville is King of delicious fast food restaurants. My personal favorite is the basic cheeseburger for $1.20. I could order three cheeseburgers and chocolate milkshake from Burgerville as my last meal before the electric chair. The buns of the cheeseburgers are nice and toasty opposed to McDonald's cheeseburger buns which are more dry. The sauce on the cheeseburger is so tasty they should package it up and sell it on it's own. Oh wait! They do now!!! The sauce is a mixture of mayonnaise and relish and something else I think. Another thing that's great about Burgerville is their milkshakes. The chocolate milkshake has a great creamy texture that emphasizes the milky flavor. Probably they carry best milkshakes I've ever tasted. Burgerville also seems to have developed a culture of local ingredients and will have a variety of healthy options on their menu. The Black Bean burger is an excellent choice. McDonald's will offer a menu of unhealthy options and then force health conscious eaters to order the side salad. It doesn't seem any big fast food restaurant chain is bold enough to have bean burgers and salmon on their menu for good tasting healthy options. I think I love everything about Burgerville as a business including their 1950's diner style interior.
