over and hour to get food? Not even in Disneyland

By Alvaro G |

Terrible service. Over one hour to get our food order. Restrooms were disgusting and parking is bad. Food, totally nothing out of the world. Come for the attractions, but NOT for the food. You're better off eating elsewhere.

Excellent Cuban Food

By Durga M |

We were travelling to the shark Valley from Everglades and could not find a place to eat so stopped here. It is mostly local food and the food was amazing. The challenge was the language as they were not able to understand English. We ordered Salmon which comes with two sides Rice and French fries. Nicely made. The juice was so fresh. If you pass by this place stop over for lunch

By Findvivi |

Nice staff and setting, disappointing food

By Sauerkraut11 |

Our waitress was sweet. We ordered Cuban sandwiches . They were definitely big enough. We could have just split one. Plenty of meat and cheese. The problem is that it was barely lukewarm and the cheese was not even melted . No pickles , no mustard , pork not seasoned, bread not even pressed and crispy. But they did have mayonnaise on it( hint...there is no Mayo on any Cuban I have ever had) . The roasted corn was from the day before , old and not warm either I told our waitress and she apologized. We were headed to the airport so did not have time to have her replace the meal. She discounted our mea by 50%. We tipped her out handsomely as it was not her fault. This is a big restaurant and not even 20% full . Plenty of workers a we could see. No reason for this meal to come out as it did. I hope this was a one off for them as we saw so many good reviews. It is a nice family friendly setting with fun outside ambiance with chickens and cats running around.

Delicious food & fun Cuban culture

By Kristin H |

Delicious food & fun visit with family on way to Key West from Marco Island. Great place to get lunch & enjoy the scenery. We sat in a shaded area under trees & had great service while enjoying the lush garden scenery. We had pizza, the big pina colada in a pineapple & fruit milk shakes- all delicious. My son had fried chicken, it was not great. Fun to be around the culture - our kids were wide eyed that not many people were speaking English. Everyone was nice to us & it was a good experience for the kids to see a different culture /language. Pony rides offered but we did not try. Worth a visit & perfect spot for lunch between Naples /Marco Island on a road trip to Key West.

Not a clean freak but

The service was fine and fun. Liked the vibe that comes with the area. Just was not liking the roosters and hens jumping up on my bench where I was eating/sitting. Perhaps they should not be 3 feet from my plate. Oh the coffee was excellent,

Hidden Gem in S. Miami-Dade.

By Tim W |

This is a hidden gem. What a fun place to spend the day. For families, young children and even for older adults, there is something for everyone to enjoy. My favorites were The Aviary and the Bird Garden. The aviary is full of exotic and very unique birds from all parts of the world. I also enjoyed the Camel Rides. Yes Camel Rides. In Miami! Who knew? There are so many activities for children it's hard to imagine that you could take advantage of them all in one day. Go early and stay late! The restaurant and frutería was also a favorite. At the frutería you can get fresh fruit from their farm, honey, desserts like Bread Pudding, FLAN, and Coconut Macaroons. Freshly made batidos - milk shakes with the fruit flavors of the season. The restaurant has an extensive menu of really great food. I had the Lomos De Rey with beans and rice, yuca with ajo, and couldn't believe the size of the portions. My friends had a Vegetable and Cheese pizza. Wow! It was very similar to a Chicago deep-dish pizza and they loved it. This place is a MUST for families. It is also a great place to bring groups of young people, like school field trips, or outings for city-dwellers to be in touch with nature and animals. There are large, 100-year old tortoises, donkeys, goats, Emus, Ostriches, Llamas, and Pot-Bellied Pigs. So many animals I can't remember them all. So go! Have fun! We sure did. I have to mention the staff! Oh My GOSH! So accommodating. Very helpful and all around genuinely caring. For their customers and the animals. They have a service attitude of "Yes we can do that for you!" Thank you all!

Poor food, high prices, nice people

By Tom B |

I was with a group of 5 adults and 1 child that stopped in for lunch. The cuban sandwich was bad, the beef steak sandwich was very bad, the chicharrones were terrible, the beef with congee was terrible and the personal size cheese pizza was dry as a desert, the mamet shakes were not shakes were made of crappy fake mamets. $120 down the drain.

Take more care with the ponies as animals that cannot talk, but can need water during their labor shift, less tied

By Martha A |

The food was not bad not spectacular, and expensive, a simple mamey shake in a regular glass made of plastic $9.99 The pony ride is placed at the entrance on the right. Ponies were standing all the time, with a rope too tied on the neck, and I requested that some water be given to the ponies, and the staff told me that they were working and food and water were given at the end of their day-long shift. Their skin did not show any problem, but I did not like the way they were tied to the neck and standing for several hours until the end of the day when they were given water and much food. I sat near the place and could see this situation, waiting for my family to return from the other entertainment.

A good place to go with your family

By Claudia H |

It’s the perfect place to go with your family or friends if you or them are Cubans or you want to enjoy a part of the island in Miami. Food was good and milk shakes too

By Lorena M |

Poor service!

By Yasmina R |

I was waiting 3 hours for my food after I ordered and still no food. The waitress came about 2 times to tell us the food was on the way but still no food. Then I complained to a young man who worked there and he said he was bringing out our food - when he finally came, the order was wrong. I then told my waitress I was leaving. I was hungry and uncomfortable sitting on the benches for so long. I’ve never had an experience like that before. Yet, I saw everyone around me being served or eating.

I went on the recommendation of some friends. Good place to go eat with the family! I recommend the pizzas, especially the Hawaiian pizza, they make it excellent.

Great food and shakes

By Lexer75 |

My family and I went for lunch this past weekend. We enjoyed the sandwiches (huge) and the mamey shake (very thick and good). Lots of ice cream involved in the shakes. Ridiculous. My son enjoyed the ponies and feeding the fish. Nice place.

Great!

By Nicole R |

You always know when you go to a place where mainly locals are eating, is going to be great! We were NOT disappointed. We shared combination dinner for $18 and it was THE BEST we have had. The service was slow, we had to ask for a menu at the inside market - seems like so many regulars know exactly what they want- ask for someone who spoke English to order - but without a doubt everyone was super sweet - AND the meal was delicious! I’m giving 5 stars because we enjoyed the fresh home cooked amazing food... do not pass this place up on the way out of a day shopping at the RedLand Farms.

Lunch

By juanmartinezr2017 |

Excellent service and food, best pork and bread sandwich (pan con lechón) in Miami. Good tamales, pork grinds (chicharrones), and fruit shakes. Everything great!! Very authentic Cuban food!!!

Re-heated food???

By CocoMiami |

Went today during the afternoon and asked for a parrillada with tostones and shakes. The shakes were excellent. The food was very hard and no tasteful. It seemed re-heated, The tamal was good, that was the only thing good out of the entire plate. Not so much a parrillada as it is mainly chicharrones and masas de puerco, no churrasco, just few cuts of red meat that didn't have any taste whatsoever. The tostones were super greasy and not fresh. A waste of money. The customer service was good as well as the setting. Won't be back.

Disappointed

By Patrickthedive |

We had seen ads and wanted to visit By Brothers for quite sometime. Firstly if you don’t speak Spanish don’t come there is no other option. Secondly there wasn’t a lot of shade. Minimal staffing to ask locations of things. We also noticed in the 94 degree weather the bunnies had no water and were laying docile breathing as hard as you’d imagine. Extremely expensive for what you get also. We won’t be back.

Very good food, good service and good prices, plus some entertainment

By hectorfrommiami |

Good service, clean tables, food that tastes great and is served in generous portions at affordable prices. The pizza has a very nice crust, not too thick and not too thin. I would only want some more slices of pepperoni, but the cheese is surely abundant there

Great family/kids outing

By Emiliaf49 |

I had driven by a few times but had never stopped, but back the Dec of last year had family visit from out of state and took them to a few places in Homestead, was very surprised about this place ,on the weekends they have pony rides @ $5 ,since there were just a few kids the guys were nice enough to let our girl to ride longer. They are fixing the place with waterfalls and a mini zoo like with beautiful Bouganvillias everywhere . The food is good too , loved their tamal ,not easy to find one done just right and theirs is ! Really nice place to unwind ,the restaurant is huge and open with big fans and a large tv screen that plays music videos.Went back again in Mar. Totally recommend this as a must stop for an end to a tiring day at Homestead.

Good Cuban food, good portions, and good service

By hectorfrommiami |

We got there on a mid-morning Saturday. Before going I sent an e-mail to the place asking for prices, because the Web menu has no prices, but I ended up calling to find out if they take credits cards, which was not specified in the web. My e-mail was never responded, so that gave me an uneasy feeling, but I decided to wait for the visit, and I was glad I did it that way. From the time we ordered to the time we had the food it was very reasonable, and the taste was delicious. Prices are not cheap but not high and they are worth given the quality of the food. Service was very good, friendly and respectful. After eating and paying we went around the gardens, took some pics and visited the market before heading back home.
