Excellent food in the middle of San Fernando Valley

By Mzprx64 |

High end cuisine with very attentive and service. Chief is simply excellent. The best Beef Wellington I tried. I tried all other items in the menu and they are as good as it gets. Strongly recommended! Enjoy.

A rare pearl

By Ana C |

This restaurant is a rare pearl. You don’t find another restaurant with this quality food around the area. It was difficult to choose: we wanted to try every item in the menu. My husband ordered fried Brie for starter, which came with a little salad, and I had a garden salad. As main dish, he had lobster and shrimp ravioli with red sauce and I had seafood papardelli with shrimp, mussels, scallops and saffron. For desert, we had bread pudim. The food couldn’t be better, we had a bottle of wine and the service was great. It was a great experience and we loved every bit!

CF Food Kitchen

CF Food Kitchen is one of those little gems that you find and are amazed at. Chef Edwin and the staff are great. The food is wonderful, with a menu of everything from steak to jambalaya. One of the best clam chowders that i have ever had. Service is great and they have recently added an outdoor patio dining area. A must try!

A hidden juwel

Found and tried at random in the Internet. Small, quiet restaurant with very good salads and very friendly service.

A great find

Had a meeting with a friend on the way to SNJ and so met near 405 and the restaurant near is this. Seeing the location we doubted if we are in the correct location but the name is correct so in we went it was quaint and clean, our server Sylvia was most gracious and quick to attend to your needs. We had New England Clam Chowder, Beef Wellington, Cesar Salad, Crab cakes, Empanadas. The Wellington was all right, but we tasted better in other places, the clam chowder was great so too the Empanadas and crab cake. Will be back here to try other menu...

Surprise!

I've have family in LA who have lived in the area 30+ yrs and have never been here to eat. I found them on line and read their reviews and wanted to try. Don't judge a book, the food was excellent! I had the filet and it was perfectly prepared with a very good crust and tender medium rare. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals. Family owned. It will not disappoint.

Always good!

My husband and I have been there many times. The food is always great, the service is good, and it's always a pleasure. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the steak diana. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the portion was just right, beautifully presented and they have good choices of wine with very good prices. I guess I'll keep going back!

A Great Hidden Gem!

By AndyS110 |

We found this restaurant by chance, but saw that it had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. It is a small restaurant tucked away in a small strip center, but it turned out to be a real treat. The staff was so friendly, and the chef/owner even walked around and talked to patrons. I had the Jambalaya and my wife had the Pecan-crusted chicken and both were exceptionally good. I started with a cup of their clam chowder which also was very good. Service was great....everything was hot when it was served, and the food was really delicious. And the prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommended if you are in the Granada Hills area!

Very Pleasant Surprise

Was visiting friends in the area and they took me to dinner here. From the moment we were greeted by Sylvia when we arrived through her saying goodnight when we left it was a wonderful experience. The menu was eclectic, the food was GREAT and the service was impeccable. It's an intimate, engaging environment with spectacular food and service. We left feeling like part of the family.

Delicious meal!

Friendly chef owned restaurant. I had beef Wellington. It was wonderful. Everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed their meal and dessert.

What a great find

I have lived right around the corner from this restaurant for years and never knew it existed. What a great friend! Some friends who had gone many times invited me and I'm glad they did. I've been there two times in one week. Service is great! Food is great. I'm a vegetarian so they created a pasta primavera dish for me that is superb. My friends ordered the salmon, catfish, pork chops and veal. All of them were very impressed with their meal. I will definitely keep going back.

Hidden gem

This is hidden in a small strip mall. The food is what you would find at an upscale hotel. My friend said it was the best steak she EVER had - didn’t need a knife and was flavorful. I also like that it is a locally owned non-chain restaurant.

A Hidden Restaurant

By Sandra W |

We just had a wonderful lunch at CF Food Kitchen. It is hidden in the center of a small strip mall. We ordered off the lunch special. I had the Pecan Crusted Chicken that was preceded by a Cesar Salad. My husband had their Pear and Pecan salad followed by Filet Mignon. Both entrees were served hot and ready to eat. The food was wonderful including the bread. The service was right on the mark. No complaints and ready to go back soon. The only problem is parking in this small mall.

Hidden gem in the heart of San Fernando Valley.

Excellent high end food and service. The food commes with beautiful presentation (all pictures on Google are true), but the most amazing thing is it tastes even better than it looks. Unbelievable chef! Strongly recommended.

Fine Dining in a Strip Mall

By Tony D |

We tried this place specifically because they had Beef Wellington on the menu. I was surprised to see its location, but pleased with our meal. Our server was very responsive and always had a smile on her face. We did a 3 course dinner. I had Clam Chowder, Lamb Chops and Key Lime Pie. My wife had Burrata Salad, Beef Wellington, and a Berry Tart. The appetizers were good, and I was happy to see actual clam in my chowder and not just chunks of potato. She wasn't blown away with her wellington, but I loved my lamb chops. My first choice of Salvadorean Cheese Cake was unavailable, as was my first choice for beer (Moretti). The key lime pie was very good, with a super buttery crust, though it looked like a prepackaged dessert. The berry tart looked to be made in house, but I didn't ask. On the whole, everything was prepared nicely and looked beautiful. I would consider going back with friends, , but given the price, I wouldn't make this a regular place to visit.

A must try!!

My husband was on the hunt for Beef Wellington and this place was recommended by the bartender at our hotel in Hollywood. We drove the 30 minutes and were not disappointed!! We had a 3 course meal for $38!! You can’t beat the price...but let’s get to the food. Crab cakes, clam chowder, beef Wellington and the desserts were AMAZING!! The staff was as friendly as can be. This place is a MUST!!

Don't Judge By Appearances!

By NQL |

I have to reiterate what other reviewers have said and say, don't judge the CF Food Kitchen by its external appearance. If I hadn't read previous reviews, we would probably have bypassed this tiny place in a small strip mall and that would have been our loss. The interior is a cosy understated room, but the food is the real star. A set dinner menu includes appetizer and dessert which makes it fine dining at a reasonable price. My partner was converted to clam chowder by Chef Edwing Flores' version while I loved the crab cakes. Our mains were filet mignon and a sublime Beef Wellington with vegetables and the latter was fabulous. Dessert was a beautiful light layered sponge cake. The check, with wine, came to around $75 for two, while huge bowls of good coffee were on the house. Chef Flores came to speak to us and he and his wife were so welcoming that I would return even if the food hadn't been so good. Luckily it was, so it's a win-win! This really is an amazing little restaurant!

Great Food in local strip mall

By Lori H |

Nice find in a small strip mall in Granada Hills. Good menu with lots of choices. Had the Beef Wellington. It was terrific. Nice to find a small place with good food.

Chef Flores is amazing.

By Robert L |

Hidden in the corner of a small strip mall at Devonshire and Woodley, is the CF Food Kitchen. From the street, there isn't much to see but inside, you will find a pleasant dining room and really great food. Chef Flores has created many wonderful dishes at very reasonable prices. The Duck Quesadilla is excellent. After eating one, I really wanted another but I held back because there are so many other great dishes to enjoy. Beef Wellington is another of my favorites. You really owe it to yourself to give this place a try.

Incredible food in Granada Hills!

By Dennis H |

An unpretentious strip mall location hides this incredible dinning experience. The New England Clam Chowder was fantastic. Each entree we ordered offered a wonderful and very unique flavor experience - Pecan Crusted Chicken, Salmon and Jambalaya. And let me say one more time that the Jambalaya was incredible!

Neighbor Gem!

By Richard Newcomb |

We and our friends truly LOVE CF Kitchen! It is a great neighborhood gem in the North Valley, which has so few high quality restaurants in the area. The menu offers significant fine dining options and the three course dinner specials are an amazing value. In addition, the corkage fee is very reasonable and Chef Flores and his lovely wife are beautiful people. Cheers to CF Kitchen!

Don't judge by outside first impressions

By jycanada |

Not a great first impression in a strip mall but the food and service are excellent. Tremendous varied menu yet everything tastes home made. Had a great beef wellington (one of their many dinner specials, which includes an appetizer (your choice) and a dessert (your choice). It cost me $30 for that and I challenge you to find a great filet within the wellington along with appetizer and dessert for anywhere near that price. Service was excellent and a very pleasant waitress. I suggest you call ahead if you want the Wellington to make sure he saves one for you.

Excellent Food and Service

Don't judge a book by its cover. This Gem is hidden in a small shopping center. Food is excellent!! I had the beef wellington. It was cooked to perfection. The owners and staff are fabulous. Great service.
