After THE Game!

By cben800 |

We went here after the Braves game last Sunday night, the food was good as was the service, the food selections were very limited. It is truly a wine bar , that’s their main emphasis.

Romantic and good wine selections

By davew49 |

Nice wine menu, interesting food selections on their menu, exceptional service and romantic...everything you want from a wine bar. Near the ballpark but don't let that fool you.

Fantastic experience

By Tanya Z |

We took advantage of the Monday night special of complementary pizza when you purchase a bottle of wine. Perfect for a date night! The food and wine were fantastic. Service was the highlight! Aidan was knowledgeable, attentive, and engaging.

Beautiful Xmas Eve dinner

By BJDLR-L |

After receiving an email offer for Xmas Eve pre fixe menu, we took a chance at this relatively new establishment. We were VERY pleased with the quality of the food, wine and beer selection, excellent service and romantic environment. You must give it a try, whether for the fine variety of wine flights, beer or food. Then take a walk around the beautiful new Battery at Sun Trust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.

Absolutely delicious food and nice atmosphere

By M9147WNashleyw |

Stopped here before a Braves game and it was perfect since it wasn't super packed like Wahlburgers next door. So glad we tried it out. Cool atmosphere and the Gorgonzola Pear Pizza was to die for! Would definitely go back to try more food! Liked that it had indoor and outdoor seating options.

Fun Place with Friends

By Vacationer2Maine |

The “flight” of wine menu is indicative of the fun you’ll have here. Parking is easy (at the Battery - as long as there isn’t a Braves game going on, probably) and the seating is comfortable. Along the walls the air conditioning has a tendency to blow so be prepared, or sit elsewhere. The wine choices (I got Pinot evil hear no evil) is fun and interesting. The waiter was attentive and helpful.

Great place to people watch & wine taste

By Michelle S |

Delicious food, and lots of wine options to taste. Would be a fun place to go for a girl's night out! Went before a Braves game, and had the scallops with risotto- so good! Mom had the salmon, she liked it. The calamari appetizer was yummy too! Will definitely go back!

Fun, food & wine!

By Becky H |

We had returned from a car trip North and were looking for a fairly light bite, some wine, a chance to decompress and the opportunity to check out the Battery...this visited ticked all those items on the list! I chose a red wine flight that was ok, one of the wines I had enjoyed previously and of the other two, one was one I'd drink again. When it came to food, I opted for the beet (that's right BEET not BEEF) carpaccio, it was truly an awesome beet salad. If you haven't been to the Battery area, this might be a good way to visit and see what's there, we were able to drink and eat on the patio/deck and then walked around the area to see what was there...it was great to see! Our server was good, the wine was decent and the food was a good surprise! This made our first visit to the Battery, memorable and fun.

Steak Salad Pizza!

By Reesa D |

This restaurant was an great surprise. We ordered a steak salad pizza, which our waitress suggested. It was homemade, hot and tasty. One pizza serves 2 people. Dinner with 1 beer and one coke was 25.00 . To be near the stadium, we thought this was a great pizza at a great price.

Top quality

By AMCS2010 |

Visited at the end of a three day conference with some of the stragglers flying the next day. The waitress had the patience of a saint with us - most couldn't decide on food with a gun to their head ;). I really wanted something light and the chef was happy to tweak a dish for me. The food was excellent - probably the best of the week.

Great wind fair food

By Mindy D |

Just okay. Great wine list but food leaves a lot to be desired. We had scampi and sauce was watery. The risotto looked like instant rice and had no flavor. The truffle Pizza also lacked seasoning. None of the food was good, but the wine was amazing .

why’d I order the pizza???

By rollwaveroll |

Beautiful space, friendly bartender and impressive wine list. Menu looked great but do not think their pizza is anywhere near the standard bearer for the Battery in Antico. Unless you are into lukewarm, cardboard crust, no flavor and an over abundance of sickeningly sweet figs. Next time I’ll try the halibut.

Before Braves Game

By Lemons15 |

Really nice experience! Quiet, great atmosphere, good service (thanks Lindsay!), yummy food (goat cheese beignets, house salad, and salsiccia pizza), and really nice wines. Will definitely return.

Can’t wait to return

By livinforvacay |

Not sure why Cru at Battery Park has such a low rating. Our food and service were outstanding. We enjoyed the wine flights, cheese flights, goat cheese beignets, and chocolate torte. It was nice to sample different wines and cheeses. Our waiter( forgot his name) was wonderful and so was all the food and wine. Did notice several tables had pizza.

Pizza - who knew?

By DPSEats |

We did not expect to be eating pizza here, but so glad we did. The size is perfect for a meal or for two to share as an app. And delicious! Great combinations. Fabulous value.

Did not reach my expectations

By averyyy016 |

Took a good 10 minutes to get someone to come check on us after we entered the door and questioned if we should seat ourselves. When we did get attended to, we were taken to a dirty table. After getting situated, we ordered and got our food fairly quickly. The table opted to share a CRU Steak pizza and the Grilled Cheese with tomato soup appetizer. The grilled cheese was great! Highly recommend. But the steak pizza was SO spicy that my lips burned for about 20 minutes. After looking back over the menu at the ingredients, we asked our waiter why it was spicy? (Cheese, bread, sweet balsamic glazed steak, there was nothing spicy) He asked the general manager and said the pizza had red chili pepper flakes. We were only able to eat a piece each and informed the waiter we wouldn't have ordered the item if it was spicy and it should be noted on the menu. He asked the general manager if he could remove it from the bill since we weren't eating it and we got comped the percentage of the pizza remaining (based on slices) instead of just removing the item.. Who does that? The the table behind us dropped an entire bottle of wine on the ground throwing glass everywhere. It remained on the ground with employees just stepping around it for 45 minutes before we asked if it was going to be cleaned up and they finally paid attention. That is ridiculous. I tried CRU because I had great reviews from friends who visited the Avalon location and it's obvious I will not be returning here.

Braised short ribs

By Kay W |

I ordered the braised short ribs. The flavor was absolutely amazing. The meat was chuck roast. Lean and tender but not short ribs.

Upscale oasis in tackyville

By therealmjfox |

Very nice upscale wine bar in the middle of the ticky-tack of the ballpark development. Quiet calm atmosphere, attentive service, delicious albeit expensive food. The food menu is limited in choices but still covers the bases with steak, pizza, chicken, fish, and a long list of appetizers. They have wine flights to try and a few beers but no hard liquor.

Cool Place

By actor4omaha |

A group of 6 came to CRU for brunch today. We had the most incredible server Grace. She knocked it out of the park. We had all sorts of special requests and she was so nice. Most places you get eye rolls and huffs and puffs for special dietary requests and Grace was like - we can do this! LOVED HER!!! Great wine list - food was ok - service was amazing. We would go back just to hang with Grace again. She was professional, welcoming and a great representative for the company!

Nothing Special - Check other Options!

By rdz18 |

Nice location, food is OKAY nothing special about it, small serving. Wine selection is for me acceptable, meaning if your palette carves for something great go somewhere else. The server was all over the place, charged me 2x for the wine that I did not even realize after I left the place since. Took the server forever to check us out (Brandi), just like the other reviews posted here. When in Battery area - check your options before making a decision especially if it's your first time in the area. Learned my lesson well.

Lovely dinner

By NMM05 |

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at CRU after a Braves game. The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. We ordered the lobster & shrimp potstickers, steamed mussels, and the lamb lollipops. Everything was perfectly flavorful and very tasty.

Disaapointed - Not going back

By anf531 |

My friend and I went here for lunch. The service was very slow. The restaurant was empty. There were only two other tables seated. The waiter took quite some time to come over to take our order and when he finally did, we were told the lobster & shrimp pot-sticker appetizer was sold out. We were there at 11:55am so not sure how you sell out. Additionally, the food took awhile to come out. We ordered two salads. My friend's salad did not have egg in it - and she even asked the waiter about the egg when she placed her order. My salad had gross olives in it which ruined the taste of the whole salad. The waiter brought me new arugula which i swapped out with my hand. We would have left to go somewhere else but we did not have time to start at another restaurant. Also, we had to flag down the bartender to get water refills. Again, there were only two other tables seated. I was not impressed and was disappointed. I will not be going back.

What A Nice Surprise

By SLKspingirl |

I have been to other Cru locations but had never eaten at one. I have to confess, my expectations were low that the food would be any good. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious. Simple food, well prepared and delicious. I would absolutely now think of going here for food, which I would not have previously.

Champagne

By Nikki |

So I happen to come on a Thursday which was half off on bottle of champagne! I ended up getting a board of artisan cheese and adding prosciutto and it was amazing. Service was great and they were very helpful!

“Quick Lunch- Not!”

By Kathy E |

After pre-wedding manicures, we decided to pop into Cru’ to get a bite of lunch. We should have known it would take forever when it took the waitress 10 minutes to put tables together for 12 people. 10 minutes to take orders. 20-25 minutes to get our food. No one ordered anything really difficult. I got my cheese plate first...5 min later all but one meal came out. We were given our checks before the last person even got her meal! The food wasn’t anything special. I rate it an NR. (Not repeatable)

Disappointed

By Number822 |

Over priced and not well organized. If wine is your focus consider trying but if interested in decent food, choice elsewhere.

Great place to meet with friends

By susu47 |

Our server Jarrod was amazing! He was well informed, attentive, and efficient not to mention quite friendly. 7 of us met for drinks and sampled many of the appetizers, the salmon dinner and all of the desserts! Everything was great...Thanks for a great birthday celebration and wine recommendations!!! We will be back...

Can get a bit noisy but food is excellent and choices of wine outstanding

By Gus S |

Went there with friends and glad that we were there early as the place fills quickly so recommend a reservation. Plenty of choices of wine either by the glass or bottle and their menu of food is excellent too. Parking is right next door as long as you come out of the right door!!

We were overcharged by $40.00.

By Julia L |

Lovely, lively atmosphere, good food, friendly staff, BUT we were charged $96.04 for a $55.65 check. Our server explained that our bill had been inadvertently switched with another party’s, and she said she had corrected the mistake, but the $96..04 charge still appears on the credit card statement. We won’t return to Cru.

Steak served 1 temperature

By The Urban Sombrero |

Service - Good Atmosphere - Average Wine - To be expected for a wine bar Food - Above Average Attitude of restaurant - ok, so admittedly we had a very large party like 25+ but we had reservations and a prix fixe menu, weeks in advance. Anyways, the restaurant would only cook steaks (filets) medium, which is ridiculous, especially given the price of the meal. Then, when the steaks actually came out they were mostly mid rare, which IMO is even more ridiculous, because you refused to take my order of a mid rare steak saying it had to be medium, but then served it mid rare. As I said above, to be fair, it was a decent steak. I just can’t get over a kitchen refusing to cook a steak at any temperature besides medium. Not rare, not well, only medium. I don’t think this is crazy request, even with a very large party. With all the other choices around the Battery, I wouldn’t go back there on principle alone. If you have a large party that will care about things like how a steak is cooked, I would think twice about CRU.

Great service

By Alison C |

Excellent service by Lindsey tonight. Very knowledgeable and friendly, had great recommendations for wine and good.

Mediocre spot in a place with few good options

By een2016 |

Merely ok. I had a tuna tartare salad. One friend had a fish taco which she liked. My other friend had a steak salad. All ok but nothing to write home about. We met there as it was a convenient spot between where the three of us lived. Would not go back otherwise unless it was just for a glass of wine and some cheese

Waste of time

By lynchmob47 |

We attempted to stop into several other restaurants/bars upon leaving a Braves game. Everything was packed and the shortest wait time we were quoted was 40 minutes. We didn't feel like waiting that long so we kept moving and came across CRU. The menu looked interesting and the place was 90% empty, which should have been our clue to keep moving along. However, we walked in and were seated immediately. Looked over the menu some more and decided on some wines and beer we wanted to try. And then we waited...and waited...after we passed 15 minutes of no one so much as speaking to us, we got up and left. While I'm never a fan of siting that long without any interaction with staff, I could somewhat understand if the place was crazy busy. This place was not. There was 1 large party 8-10 people and 2 tables with 2 people at them. Judging by the first impression, I feel confident we made the right choice by leaving.

Work Weekend

By Shalaina13 |

Great place for wine. Sits on the corner at the Battery surrounded by housing and other food establishments. Great wine selection and the service was amazing. They allow dogs on the patio. They have several flight options at a reasonable price. We opted for a bottle. It was great!!!

Nice people, disappointing service

By Rod D |

We took 6 business partners to CRU on a Monday evening around 6:00. There were 8 of us in total. They seemed comfortably busy but not overcrowded. The person who greeted us at the door was very nice and we were seated right away. We ordered wine and a variety of food. We waited over an hour for some of the food. The balance of our order came even later. It was embarrassing and I felt badly for our guests. The concept seems nice and it is in a cool location near the new SunTrust Park. I see they have other very good reviews so it is puzzling how it went so badly for our party.

Enjoyed outside dining and wine tastings

By loribledsoe |

My husband and I went to the wine bar after hanging out watching a football game at Sports and Social. We tried two different wine tastings and ordered a filet and halibut and both were very good! Jared took care of us and we ended up with extra wine so indulged in the lava cake which was sinful! We may have been spoiled because it was slow but we recommend it and will go back when in the area!

A terrific place to unwind!

By Randy Thompson |

I stopped in here just as the Covid-19 virus shutdown was starting. When I was seated my host said that they had a special going that day: order any full bottle of wine and get a free roll of toilet paper. And that made me smile. When I looked around at other tables, I realized they were not kidding because there were lots of tables with rolls of toilet paper on them. My waiter was terrific, helped me pick a great glass of wine but since it was just me, a whole bottle was not in the cards. But I really liked this place and am hoping they make it!

Great food, but slow service

By Katie |

The food here was delicious. I had the scallops and they were perfect! Other people in our group tried the filet, pizzas, and salmon and all enjoyed their meals as well. The waitress was able to recommend a wines from their large selection. My only complaint for the night was how slow the service was. I’m not sure if the waitress was just letting us relax or was truly that inattentive. She was very friendly, but our meal lasted over 2.5 hours and she never offered us dessert. Prior to meeting our group, we also had a drink at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. We had initially come to take advantage of their happy hour wine deal, but we were told that the battery location does not do happy hour. Be sure to sign up for their wine club online for free to get a free appetizer.

Goat Cheese Beignet = AMAZING

By lyndimom |

I can NOT stop thinking about the goat cheese beignets!! My friend and I went to this cute little wine restaurant/bar to sip some wine and have an appetizer. The server recommended the goat cheese beignet, and I was not about to order that. I couldn't even picture what it would look like, and I'm not a huge fan of goat cheese. Well, apparently my friend is so she ordered it. When it came out it was not at all what I expected. It was these round, fried pastries stuffed with warm, creamy goat cheese and drizzled with honey. The goat cheese wasn't too sour and the pastry wasn't too sweet. Also, you can order carafe's of wine which is actually three small glasses of wine to get a bit of a tasting. The white wines I got went great with the appetizer. We didn't eat dinner here so I have no idea what the menu even looks like, but I can not wait to go back and try more wines with that appetizer. YUM.

Great wine bar with good food

By swiftmi |

We wanted to spend an evening around the new Braves stadium. We stopped at Cru for a drink and dinner. They have a nice wine selection and have flights of 3 wines which are a good choice. The menu is not large but the food is very good. I had the seared fish and is was delicious. The service was very good. We will be back.

Bland pizza crust

By luv4phood |

The restaurant has a small food menu that is very high priced. For me, the offerings are not interesting enough to justify the prices. I opted for a pear and gorgonzola pizza which sounded promising. The toppings were well executed but the crust lacked any flavor and was simply chewy. No crunch, no saltiness, just spongy.

Diassappointed

By Sharon R |

This is the second and last visit to this Cru. Cry has an amazing wine list and variety of food pairings sure to delight. Visited on a non game night both times, first visit 10/18 then new visit tonight 3/19. Same concern, issue poor service with inattentive wait person. There were 4 in our party. Wine arrived after 10minutes, at which time we placed appetizer and main meal orders. Everything right off the menu, no special request. 45 minutes later appetizer arrives, 1 person ordered new glass of wine and another asked for more water. Another 40minutes and food was drop off at table, no interaction by wait staff. 2 persons had ordered pizza, no offer for Parmesan cheese or crushed red pepper was extended. Filet Mignon ordered was cold as were potatoes on same plate. 2nd persons glass of wine finally arrives. As business travelers on road 3-4 nights week this was an utter disappointment. Cru in Love Field Airport outshines this location despite being twice as bustling. Will not return to Atlanta location :(

More than charming

By aleeds1 |

Small , intimate....booths or tables.......the wine fleets served in a stunning holder which holds 3 of your choice.....Exxcelent food, service, ambiance.....It is a pleasure to have that so close to where we live. Adrienne L

Great priced flights of wine!

By Jeni Jean |

Enjoyed a flight of wine and shared a small pizza at the bar on a date night with my husband. The flight was very reasonably priced, and the pizza was delicious. Had a wonderful tawny port to finish things off. Bar service was great! We would try it again!

Very Disappointing

By JudyBK |

Decided to try this restaurant with a friend prior to a Braves game. The outside patio is a nice place to people watch and enjoy a glass of wine. However, the service was extremely poor. It took fifty five minutes to have our our hamburgers and a salad arrive. The food was nicely plated, but overly salted. There is a nice wine list, but for a wine bar, wines were served in whatever kind of wine glass that was available. For example, a nice Cabernet was served in a Chardonnay glass. Our next glass was served in the appropriate wine glass. For the price, I won’t return.

Wine (Beer) & Tapas

By 4girls4us |

Stopped in for the appetizers! Lobster & Shrimp pot stickers were amazing. We snuck in a little eating before the baseball game.

The Steak Salad is not a salad...

By David B |

Had lunch here with a few friends last weekend and ordered the Hanger Steak Salad. When it came to the table we all kind of stared at it in amazement--there was a 2-1/2 inch long piece of steak with a garnish-sized clump of greens on the side and two thin slices of tomato with some blue-cheese vinaigrette. Based on the menu description I was expecting a lunch-sized steak on a bed of greens with some nice chunks of heirloom tomato. The garnish of greens on the crab toast plate one of my friends ordered was literally bigger than the green space on my "salad" plate. When I mentioned it to the server he said he would talk to the chef--he brought back a golf-ball sized clump of additional dressed greens and said this was what the chef gave him--I thanked him for trying. Food tasted fine--just a big disappointment in terms of how it was described and presented, and how a not-unreasonable customer request was handled. Lots of other restaurant choices at the Battery and would suggest you walk right on by this one and select another for your meal.

A Perfect Birthday Dinner

By Erica Merritt |

Taking a Moment to Share the Magnificent Experience I had at CRU Wine Bar at The Battery on Saturday, March 19. I celebrated my birthday there with 13 of my closest friends. I couldn't have been more impressed with the incredible service and delicious food. We had one server for our entire table. His name is Aiden and he was spectacular. He didn't miss a beat and everyone spoke so highly of him, the beauty of the restaurant, and how great the food was. Highly recommend this before going to a game, celebrating a special day, or just to have a delightful experience.

Below expectations

By TheBigD2014 |

Went as part of a group of 6 and we were all underwhelmed. Their website says Thursdays are half price champagne night. But when we got there, they said that is only at their other locations and there is some fine print somewhere where it is spelled out. We order wine and a cheese board. When the cheese board came, out reaction was “is this all of it”. Very skimpy. More green grapes than anything else. The food was just ok. We were told that they didn’t have a market special, which is their special dish of the evening. Don’t get the pizza. Very little toppings on them and not very good. My wife’s flatbread was just that, a piece of flat bread. Had to put on my readers to see any toppings. Too many other choices to try them again.

Outstanding flights of wine

By melanie G |

Outstanding flights of wine .. excellent service, lively ambience.. great food! Especially loved the goat cheese beignets!
