Sea food Delicious

By 22maria2256 |

If there is one word to describe the food it's delicious the sea food is served fresh and the most amazing oysters. Loved the food would definitely recommend it.

Our fantastic family vacation dinner

By Jenny V |

We Were there last Summer, 19/07/2022 , and it was Amazing. I had the delicious Chicken. The Fish and Steak were also very Tasty. The Feeling in the Restaurant itself was very fancy, my Little sister and I Really liked the big fish on the Wall :-) All in one it was a fantastic dinner. After not finding any good restaurant, but to our luck we found this one. The waitress was outstanding, she was very friendly, and always tried to help us find something fitting. She even did extra fries for my sister. PS: I was 13 at the time we went there. So this restaurant ist also something for children:) Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland/ Germany from our family ( you might know jürgen )

Delicious - A Must Visit!

By AMPWyo |

A suggestion from a woman sitting next to us at the Farmers Market led us here and she was spot on. Delicious food, wonderful service, lovely ambiance. Our server encouraged us to order to share and we were glad we followed her suggestion. The favorite dishes were the Chilean sea bass and crab glass noodles. Perfectly seasoned. The sushi sampler was fresh and crisp. Really enjoyed the server's suggestions and attentiveness (without being overbearing). We owe the woman from the market a huge thanks for the suggestion.

Outstanding food

By G. C. |

Great quality seafood. The server knew her stuff and was very informative in regards to making appropriate choices for us. We loved the grilled octopus, the lobster, and the sea bass. Everything we had was delicious but those dishes were exceptional for us.

Great Happy Hour Menu

By mitchandmichelle2017 |

My husband and I were staying at a B & B within walking distance and decided to stop in C.O.D. during Happy Hour. We were not disappointed...the restaurant has a great Happy Hour menu! We ordered house fries, chicken wings, spicy tuna roll, California roll, and the yellow tail green onion roll. It was all delicious! Our waitress was pleasant and we loved the décor/ambiance. Wish we would have had more time in LA to go back one evening and eat on the outdoor terrace.

FRESH & TRENDY

By Sean M |

Starting off by saying, huge fan. I came with a few friends craving great seafood, and that's exactly what we got. Our waitress, Linda, was the most knowledgable and prompt server. She greeted us from the very beginning and walked us through every fresh fish and seafood item on display. She made some excellent recommendations which we were extremely satisfied, including but not limited to: The Truffle Uni Pasta Kusshi Oysters Halibut Carpaccio Chocolate Bread Pudding The ambiance was great as well. Note: They have a rooftop upstairs that is very intimate and would be great for birthdays and small parties. We will definitely be back!

Delightful Seafood and Dim Sum!

By JBMD1 |

Our first visit to this now fully open restaurant was an attempt to celebrate the end of the pandemic. What a surprise to find a Seafood and Dim Sum place so delicious! And to taste their Crispy Garlic Brussels Sprouts gave us back the hope we needed that things will get much better very soon. So was tasting their Steamed Har Gow Dumplings. But what confirmed to us they were truly experts at seafood was their Grilled Chilean Sea Bass - fresh as could be, with a miso glazed type flavor delight!

love their uni pasta

By lamp131 |

Cool raw bar

By David O |

Really liked this place. Great seafood and whilst quite upmarket was relaxed enough to feel comfortable with kids. Prices were ok and service was really great

WOW

By GJ W |

We regularly stay at The Orlando Hotel and on a recent visit discovered C.O.D. Seafood House which is along W3rd St from the hotel. It is a comparatively new restaurant. From the outside it looks trendy and interesting with decor "different" to other restaurants on W3rd St. We decided to "give it a go" and we were not disappointed. Service was first rate and helpful. The restaurant was spotlessly clean ad well lit. The food selection was exciting and imaginative but not too expensive. The actual food and wine was wonderful. My wife and I chose 5 different plates and shared the meal. We left C.O.D. Seafood after having one of the best dinners we have had in the 9 years we have been holidaying in L.A. Now a warning. IT GETS BUSY! So, I suggest you pick your time to eat.........either early evening or on a weekday night. Otherwise, be sure to book. Thankyou C.O.D. for a memory to take back to Sydney, Australia.

I want more

By catchyginger |

Damn this place is good. Came in here late one Friday and got seated promptly. Service was great. But the food was better. Started with the oysters which were so fresh. They were so good. They are a bit pricey but worth it all. Followed the oysters with the calm chowder. This chowder was some of the best I have had. Lots of clams in the shells. Potatoes so fresh. Great chowder. Had the truffle pasta. Rich and delicious. I could not stop eating it. Seafood stir fried rice was also quite good. Big chunks of seafood. Ambiance is chill. Nice painting of fish on wall. Drinks were good. Had a moscow mule which was Ok. CAnt wait to come back.

FANTASTIC FIND

By Pamj2603 |

WE HAD A 7:30pm reservation of Wednesday night which we didn't need but the place soon filled up by time we left. Service was great but I'm never in a hurry when I see waitresses are busy, they will get to you...... had 5 small plates for my daughter and i and 2 drinks and that was plenty and enjoyable You must try the drink (The'stache') great and refreshing All in All a Great place and convenient to West Hollywood.

Great seafood dinner

By jisabr |

We enjoyed an excellent seafood dinner here. Small plates format enabled us to have a wide variety at one meal. Both raw and cooked plates are available. We had raw oysters, tuna ceviche, scallops and grilled octopus, all were delicious. Open airy dining room, ample bar offerings, excellent service.

Truffle and uni pasta - need I say more?

By default1010202124552 |

So during my food porn searches, I stumbled upon a few pictures of a TRUFFLE AND UNI PASTA, so what’s better than putting TWO GREAT LOVES OF MINE TOGETHER?!?! Luckily for me it was from a restaurant in Los Angeles so I made it a mission to go visit this restaurant for the pasta. The pasta was every bit as good as I had expected it to be, truffles and uni are an incredible combination (unsurprisingly!). However, oddly enough I did not find this to be as orgasmic as the uni pasta from EMC one. For starters I was mind blown out of this universe and back by their halibut carpaccio ($12) which was in a citrusy yuzu sauce giving the otherwise mellow and delicate fish a bit of a punch. It was absolutely delicious once again! I highly recommend halibut to anyone who hasn’t tried it before. Whether cooked or raw, it’s always a delightful fish. We also had some boob-shaking calamari $11 which were cooked to perfection and had the airiest batter surrounding each piece of squid. It had a delicious blend of wok fried spring onions, garlic and jalapeno to include on each forkful of calamari, as well as some chilli mayo to create some sexy orgasm-inducing bites. Last but not least, my friend got some truffle sliders $11. She had originally asked for them well done, and the waitress told her that they always come out well done since they’re quite small patties, but instead it was pretty rare inside. So if you like your meat well done, not sure this is one for you (unless you’re extra persistent about the well done/ask them to redo it if they screw it up). Ambiance was nice, and the server was fine, though did nothing about the undercooked sliders.

Another great visit to COD.

By John_Schunhoff |

We hadn't been to COD in a while. Still love the menu and the cocktails. As usual, we had shisito peppers, spicy tuna on crispy rice, albacore crudo, truffle green beans, calamari, and hamachi ceviche, halibut carpaccio, and salmon with yuzu soy. All great!

C.O.D. Offers A Great Dining Experience

By Wayne P |

Hats off to C.O.D. for a unique and tantelizing Asian inspired, California cuisine experience. While the restaurant has signature fresh fish options, it also offers a nice raw bar with a wide selection of oysters as well as sushi, sashimi and other favorites. The hamachi ceviche was amazing. Also offer a variety of small plates which includes grilled octopus. The great thing is that C.O.D. also offers other non seafood selections including braised beef cheeks, crispy pork belly, and chinese sausage fried rice. Get ready for your taste buds to explode with plenty of great flavors. Nice, chill atmosphere with inexpensive valet parking.

Surprising good Chinese Fusion

By Lapyang |

Definitely one of the best Chinese fusion I have ever tried. The seafood is fresh but the seafood fried rice is absolutely the best I have ever had. Very authentic Chinese fried rice but way better, not your typical take out fried rice. The bed cheek was so tender I that really defined "melt in your mouth".

Fresh and Fantastic

By BrenFle |

If you want fresh and raw fish, COD is a great spot. Its a small and cozy restaurant with as much fish as there is seating. Great food. The server was helpful at picking out excellent plate's. There's a lot happening in the area, great place to start the night!

Loved It! Seafood and Comedy Combined

By djmangen |

We had a wonderful time there. An excellent seafood dinner at the bar, aided by an assistant manager/bartender who took care of fileting the fish before serving it to us. Followed that up by heading upstairs for an open-microphone comedy club show. Good time, and easy walk from our hotel

Umami uni bomb

By Glen G |

We’re visiting from the Bay Area and after prime rib for Xmas, a fish restaurant sounded good. We started with a couple of nice cocktails that had great flavor, but had sat in the ice too long so a bit less spiritous than they should had been. Hamachi ceviche was decent but so so. After that we had to try the uni pasta. Wow! Killer. Fresh pasta, rich creamy shellfish sauce, and a nice pice of uni. For the main we had a whole local fish. We don’t find whole grilled fish very often up north and this one was done masterfully. Right level of seasoning, great touch of fresh herbs and cooked just until done. We’d come back.

Excellent seafood restaurant

By Khaled A |

Food: great quality, I liked the garlic taste in my order. I ordered noodles and veg rice withe egg and were delicious. Price: expensive Service: good service but I think they need to improve. Also menu to add pictures to help choosing of the menu. Location; nice location and decorations

Truffle uni pasta is to die for

By Rosetravelstheworld |

We were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and were recommended this place for their Uni pasta and it's definitely worth its hype! Texture was just lovely and I couldn't get enough of it.. the waiter also advised us to try their pork which was a bit too fatty for us but it was good.. good flavors

Incredibly fresh and delicious seafood

By Patricia R |

** 4.5** This place is so good, I went two nights in a row when I was in town. I was completely surprised by how empty it was both nights, given how delicious the food is. My server Gary was fantastic! He was super welcoming and accommodating and suggested the perfect Chardonnay. The first night, I had the avocado and crab toast and the salmon with yuzu soy. The second night I had the toast again the crispy brussels sprouts. Everything was amazing! I can't wait to go back for the uni! Great food, delicious wine selection, laid back vibe. Love it!

So good and so fresh

By Jeff G |

This restaurant won't disappoint. Very reasonably priced, the freshest seafood and a very creative menu with a good wine list. Service was great as well and I can't wait to return. Definitely don't miss if you are a local or tourist.

succulent seafood and fantastic service

By Kirk E |

West 3rd Street offers plenty of seafood options, but none are as distinctive as COD. This is Asian fusion cooking at its best, housed in a lively dining room and supplemented by a great bar. Everything from traditional sushi to more adventurous fare is on offer. The crab glass noodles are not to be missed -- ditto the house fries, cooked to just the right amount of tasty crunch. Though clearly an "in" spot, the restaurant doesn't suffer from the usual LA pretentiousness. Servers are amazingly personable and happy to assist.

I LOVE C.O.D

By MBrown28 |

I love C.O.D their service is always on point and the food is always fresh and tasty. I recommend the garlic noodles... although I add shrimp. The seafood fried rice and the amazing Kumamoto oysters. Price points are reasonable for what you are getting. Highly recommend trying C.O.D. when you are in Los Angeles, CA. Plus, the vibe of the servers is great. Definitely not your typical L.A. treatment. They are very welcoming and inviting no matter who you are! C.O.D is my go to… Always consistent and perfect for every occasion.

Seafood & Raw Bar with an Asian Flair

By Michael P |

I've had three visits to this restaurant for their wonderfully fresh fish and shellfish with an Asian twist. There is a large selection of oysters, and the scallop ceviche is simply amazing. Spicy tuna on crispy rice has just the right zing, and the pork belly is just delicious. Their catch of the day is usually offered prepared two ways. Go with the chef's suggestion. They keep it simple, and as a result it is all wonderful. Service is excellent, with a friendly and attentive staff. Their full bar is in the works, but they have a small, fairly decent wine list. The outdoor terrace on the second floor is nicely removed from the main restaurant. On a Saturday night we dined there, they had very loud music in the main dining room, so we were glad to escape the din. (LA restaurants don't seem to get that people like to have a conversation over dinner. Why all the loud music?) Dessert of chocolate bread pudding was disappointing.

Great potential; NO HUMILITY

By orport |

It’s not that Humility is the REASON you’d pick a Beverly Hills “chi-chi” restaurant ; but when they get it wrong; a little humanity WOULD be appreciated; Brought us an overpriced average fish; done “steamed” (poor recommendation); underdone; took to back to kitchen after they made a mess of it at our table; tried (apparently) to cook it some more; and brought us the same mangled fish after an even longer wait; hostess was polite and apologetic; rest of staff couldn’t get out of their own self-important way. It’s too bad a restaurant can’t be honest and humble when they get it wrong. They brought us a free dessert as “compensation”; without asking if we could eat it (allergies) or even explaining what it actually was. No offer to take the expensive and botched fish off the bill. Even added the dessert to the bill (before deleting it as a credit) so the TAX charge was even higher. WON’T BOTHER AGAIN. Don’t need the haughty “better than everywhere else” attitude in this short life

A delightfully fresh and flavorful meal with friends.

By CACyclist |

I joined two long-time friends who moved to Southern CA last year for dinner. One suggested C.O.D. as we all love seafood. We dined on the outdoor terrace which was perfect for having a conversation while we ate. It was a busy Saturday night and the inside spaces were pretty noisy. The food and service were both terrific. Our craft cocktails were excellent. The poke was excellent. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable.

This should be your place for seafood

By John_Schunhoff |

Some friends, who had been there before, took us to C.O.D. It's in a busy area of West 3rd Street in L.A. You can have a whole fish, (pan-seared, grilled or steamed). The fish are all displayed on ice, in front of the cooking area, so you can see your options. We were four and we went for the small plates on the regular menu, and all were excellent. Hamachi cevice, fried calamari, kale salad, uni pasta, crispy rice with tuna, and a number of dishes I don't remember. Great food.

Fresh Oysters & Uni

By Audrey Nika |

The ambience of the restaurant after sunset is dark, as the only lights come from the open kitchen and the candles on the table. The food included fresh oysters and other small dishes that were very light. We ordered Kumamoto oysters and found it to be the best. The uni pasta was also good. The truffle sliders were to die for, we had to order another one. The pork belly was too oily and fatty so it wasn't pleasant to eat next to all the seafood. Overall I think I wouldn't want to go back because I'm not a fan of seafood however I would like to eat their uni pasta again.

TOP TOP FISH - ONE OF THE BEST IN LA

By Robert B |

I took the time to find out how this restaurant gets its fish. Well it seems they not only get a great place at the fish market each morning but also know the best fishermen. The food may be a bit expensive but well worth it. Their oyster bar is very special...many oysters only available at this location.

Excellent seafood. Highly recommend.

By Mark D |

Excellent seafood restaurant. Everything that we had tried is superb. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. We order different small plates, so we could try a large variety of seafood dishes. Very highly recommend.

An outstanding restaurant

By Chase H |

My friend and I tried COD for the first time last night. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! My friend ordered the Sea Bass and I had the Asian Salmon. We had the Crab Glass Noodles as an appetizer, and a bottle of Red Wine. The glass noodles were the best I have ever had. She loved her sea bass which came with delicious vegetables that featured Spinach. I sampled them and those vegetables are among the best I ever tasted, very yummy!. My salmon was amazing, with crisped skin, and came with an Asian barbecue sauce with was terrific. Our server was nice, efficient, had a sense of humor, and was always around at the right times, without vulturing over us. It is a relatively small space with pleasant decor. If you're into fresh seafood, We both tasted everything we ordered, and recommend this restaurant very highly! Reservations are suggested.

Really???

By ckster |

We just started ramping up our travels since Covid and this place and reviews confirmed fully that Trip Adviser is not what it used to be. While food was edible, my daughters sashimi had bones in it and the service was bizarre. All the dishes came out at about the same time and created an awkward dining experience. I won’t go into extreme detail, but skip this place.

Fantastic Family Style Seafood

By Ken T |

Today we enjoyed our first brunch at C.O.D. (our third visit). We started off with a bang with great cocktails: two of us enjoyed two Black Palomas (Mezcal and Blackberry) while our companion imbibed on a White Negroni (he soon switched to a Black Paloma). As with our previous visits the seafood presented is über fresh and very creatively conceived. An Asian influence is predominant. The veggies are fantastic, as well. Today we enjoyed Blistered Shishito Peppers with our cocktails. Then it was onto Hamachi Ceviche, Spicy Tuna with Sticky Rice, Grilled Octopus, Fried Calamari (with a plethora of minced scallions and peppers), Fanny Bay Oysters and Truffled Green Beans. OMG--it was all fabulous! Thank goodness C.O.D. Is located close to our neighborhood. We'll be back many times.

Excellent Start to finish!

By JAN B |

This restaurant was recommended. When we arrived the exterior doesn't make you think of fine dining but that is what it is! 2 floors both with a full bar with room enough between tables that you can have a private conversation. The food was ALL excellent. Our server guided us and he did a perfect job! There were four of us and we split 2 mains and it was the perfect amount. Of course, we had a few starters - calamari and pork belly were both stand outs.

Great oysters, and More

By Runnnerboy1 |

We shared some oysters, ceviche and other dishes which were excellent. Sadly, service was not stellar. Orders were confused, water glasses left empty for too long. Otherwise, it might have been a five rating.

Not Inspiring

By Jeff M |

I am on a business trip and dropped in for a solo meal. Grabbed a seat at the bar and was essentially ignored. Eventually I garnered some attention. I had the crispy calamari as a starter. Really oily and there was enough of it that I started to feel a bit nauseous and couldn't finish it off. I had already ordered the crab in glass noodles so I couldn't walk. The flavours were ok but after the calamari it just didn't sit. I have read some of the other Evie's that rate this restaurant highly but for me it least me cold. From me, you could better value elsewhere.

Seafood spectacular!

By NEALBOURNE |

The most outstanding seafood restaurant in LA. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable service and a fantastic array of fishy delights...and great cocktails too. Asian-inspired with a Californian twist, COD offers fresh high-quality seafood which is sure to delight the piscatorial diner. There are at least eight varieties of oyster and our personal favourite dishes were the lobster roll, halibut carpaccio and the albacore crudo. COD is not cheap by any means but does offer great value and a memorable dining experience.

Good Pasta?!

By Alberto M |

I had the Albacore Crudo and Crispy Pork Belly. The Crudo was sliced a little thick for my liking and was just OK. The pork belly was good, It was sweet, salty and with a little spiciness. However, the star of the show was the Truffle Uni Paste my wife had. The dish is heavy so come hungry.

Great little secret!

By MJ215 |

We were in LA for my birthday and the day we arrived we were STARVING, but because it was a Friday everywhere friends had recommended needed reservations and everywhere was booked! We found COD on Yelp and they opened at 5 and could take us when the opened. We had no idea what we were going to get, but it’s a really cool intimate place, great ambiance on a cool block and the food was amazing!!!! I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed the food. I kept wanting to go back but being my first time in LA in needed to try other places we planned... but when I go back to LA COD is first on my list!

Love, love, love C.O.D.

By Ann S |

The Happy Hour is fantastic. One can mix the Happy Hour menu with the regular menu, but all the choices I made over two nights of dining at C.O.D were delicious. I especially enjoyed the half dozen oysters of the day.

Fresh and Delicious!

By Mikala H |

Amazing experience! Awesome service/staff and the food was soooo delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

This is the place

By peterballantine |

My wife came here this evening and were amazed at the quality of the food the expertise and knowledge of our service and the outstanding overall experience. Our server Linda was amazing and gracious she explain all the different types of fish that were on the fresh menu and explain the best way to cook them. We had the oysters, truffle sliders, grilled octopus and the bream. For the first three we had for a discounted price since we ordered them before 6:00PM. The ambience is excellent and the quality of fish is top shelf. If you like fresh fish great atmosphere and wonderful service come to this restaurant.

Excellent for Raw Bar, Limited Wine List

By Wine_Kitten1 |

Okay, you are a seafood/raw bar restaurant, but you only have two white wine selections? Explain that to me? Anyways, the small plates and raw bar were tasty. The octopus was tender, portion was very small (its a small plate for sharing, ONE tentacle is hard to share). Stopped by for an early bite (5:45pm) on Monday night. It's a good spot if you are looking for seafood in that area specifically: high quality fish, for sure. But overall, not the highest on my list in LA.

Great food

By Gaetan |

Very good seafood. Mini burgers were awesome too. The restaurant is short on staff. The waitress worked hard were efficient but the service was not good enough.

Great New Addition to 3rd Street

By Traci S |

I know, you're wondering whether this little neighborhood needed yet another seafood/raw/sushi spot when there are so many good ones already. C.O.D. is a delicious and slightly different option though, so go ahead. Great bar service -- and the bartender was a gem. We enjoyed his beer selection and knowledge. The scallops were yummy. Spicy tuna on seered sticky rice was comparable to the dish from a couple doors down. But the octopus wrapped in pancetta and served over marinated white beans was amazing. The menu's description of this one is a little confusing, so we trusted the bartender. If you're an octopus fan, you MUST try it -- the highlight of five days of dining out in L.A./Palm Springs.

Excellent seafood with an Asian twist

By GeorgicaPond |

The food is excellent and is served "small plate style" for sharing, but the portions are not small at all. Particular favorites are the oysters, salmon crude, crab toast, lobster roll, uni noodles, garlic noodles, chicken wings and whole filleted fish. The noise level is on the loud side when the restaurant is full so plan accordingly, but it's always an excellent meal whether early dining or mid rush.
