Great food! Great people!

By ChristieGonzales |

It seemed like it was going to take a long time to order because the line was out the door, but the staff is very attentive and we got our food incredibly fast! We had a complicated order for a large group and thought we had made a bad decision. Kayla was extremely patient and made us feel like she was glad we came! The food was great! The kid's meal was easy. We were confused by the specialty sodas, but loved them (they also had coke products). I picked up a meal for my son's teacher. She loved it!

Quirky place, but good food

By paulkJ4778RS |

We've eaten there a couple of times. Seems pretty consistent; food is good and reasonably priced. Can get a bit busy during lunch on weekdays, but other times moves pretty fast.

Unhappy with the cashier's attitude

By Rachal R |

I patronize Cabo Bob's very frequently. Today I went with my son to get some Burritos. My son loves Cabo Bob's burritos. We ended getting 3 burritos. Total bill $35.91. I asked the cashier for 6 small Jalapenos tubs to go with the burritos. The container is quite small so I asked for 6 because my son loves spicy food. She says she has already put them in the bag, and when I looked inside I saw only 2, so I asked for 4 more. She was not happy and put 2 more in the bag. When I went out to my car, my son was upset because he specifically said he wanted 6. I had to go back inside and asked for another 2 more. This time the cashier's face really showed her feelings. She practically dropped the jalapeno containers on the counter with disgust. I am really disappointed. Cabo Bob's should follow Amazon's policy on how to treat customers. I don't think I will patronize Cabo Bob's for a while until that cashier is no longer working there.

Imagine if Chipotle did EVERYTHING RIGHT.

By Matthew P |

A burrito/taco restaurant in the spirit of Freebirds and Chipotle but taken to a whole new level. Tortillas are pressed and cooked right in front of you and the meat comes off a row of big green eggs behind the counter. If you don't know what a big green egg is, you should. Fast, courteous service, tortillas in unique flavors like buttermilk and cheddar, great local soda selection and fun, upbeat decor and atmosphere. Go early for lunch if you don't want to stand in a long, long line.

Cabo Bob's is the BEST

By Kyle M |

This is literally my favorite place to eat in Austin. I would eat it every day. It's an excellent Friday after work place when you want something delicious to nap on lol. They take their tortillas and put them in this thing that blows them up like balloons and makes them soft. Then it's like pick all your fillings. Usually I get steak, rice, beans, peppers, squash, queso, pico, onions, jalapeños, and lettuce. Excellent burritos! Eat at Cabo Bob's if you visit. From like 11-1 be prepared for a line though

Great Food at a Great Price!

By Spplsa |

Cabo Bob's is one of our favorite, go-to Tex-Mex places in Austin. The food is amazing. Unless you're going at off hours (not lunch or dinner time) prepare to stand in a long line. But, it will totally be worth your wait. Every thing is fresh made and the meats are all natural. You can have your choice of tortillas and build your own burrito or tacos - or - you can build it as a salad or rice bowl. The rice is great - firm and not mushy. Their chips are made fresh daily and I could drink their salsa is my absolute favorite! Always great service and always great food. The only thing bad about Cabo Bob's is that they don't have a location in SW Austin yet!

Good Eats Here!

By Brandi D |

I have been to Cabo Bob's a few times and it is really good. I've enjoyed their crispy fish tacos on their delicious freshly made tortillas (you can choose from 3 different flavored tortillas). I was told the owner is from California so it has a very Baja Cali feel and decor. It set up very similar to a Chipotle restaurant, however, I perfer to eat here.

BEST BURRITOS EVER

By Megan L |

I would give this place 10 stars if I could all I have to say is that I eat here about two times a week they have the best food around!

Interesting

By dennisrivers |

My daughters first stop on her return to Austin after having graduated 2 years ago was to Cabo Bobs. I was a little skeptical as I have yet to find a place in Austin that blows my socks off. My favorite in town has been hop doddy's. I was happy to accommodate her since she was so giddy about returning to Austin. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. They have a similar format as chipotle, but with the fresh tortillas it seems to be a cut above. I think it's a nice touch to have your flour tortilla made immediately while ordering. Being from New Mexico I would say they can't match our ingredients but thought their choices were good. If they ever discover New Mexican red and green chile they might be able to match New Mexico's quality. Not a bad burrito. A little different from what I am used to but if I craved a little of home this is a different but suitable alternative. Prices are reasonable.

Great flavors, fast meal

By Rebecca H |

The burritos are cooked fresh upon order. There are lots of protein options for the burrito filling. The toppings are super fresh. Overall, a really delicious burrito and the service was fast and friendly. If you are looking for a quick, casual, tasty meal, this is a good stop.

Crowded

By maxe1lab |

The portions were large. Great variety of food. Nachos were great. Tables small and chairs uncomfortable. Noisy, the soft drinks were not normal (fu fu) defiantly not Coke or Sprite. Coke taste like a flat watered down Coke.

Dissapointed in the fish tacos

By lenagh |

Ok, so I wasn't expecting Maui, but the fish tacos were lacking in flavor. I was sent there by a client and thought that meant something. I think I will go back and try some shredded beef, but just say no to the fish tacos!

Great Burritos

By Mark P |

Completely made to order burritos. they have smokers to cook the meat that adds great flavor. This is one of the best Burritos I'v had. I like the pork, the fish is okay but its a matter of taste. Worth trying..

#1 Burrito in Austin

By DavidLowe0228 |

I am a burrito aficionado and there isn't a better burrito in town. The brisket is off the wall and being able to pick from 4 flavors of tortillas and watch them be cooked in front of you is something to behold. Took my son here who was from out of town and he is hooked now as well.

Nice local alternative to Chipotle

By Eric K |

The brisket is delicious as are the buttermilk tortillas. Tortillas are made fresh when you order and I definitely appreciated the difference!

Read this Eggheads!

By Bryce T |

Cabo Bob's uses the XL Big Green Egg. If you don't know about the BGE or the excellent food that come out of it, go look it up. I love burrito places (NOT Chipotle) and this place is great. They are so popular that if you arrive during normal lunch rush, expect to wait.

Best Burritos in Austin

By travel3rx |

The tortillas are made fresh in front of you and the meat is full of flavor. They try to avoid anything processed and make almost everything in store!! The soda machine opts for sugar cane drinks over fructose ones.

Disappointed

By Lovtorun |

I chose this restaurant on the basis of an endorsement from a local talk show as well as other TripAdvisor reviews. We stopped here on our way to kayaking so we wanted someplace casual and fairly fast. However, it was pretty much like eating at Chipotle although the food was tastier. It was located in a concrete parking lot where we sat outdoors rather than in the interior with very loud music. There are so many wonderful places to eat in Austin, I would not bother going here again.

A Great Place to Eat

By Jeanne644 |

We visited the Cabo Bob's near UT. The food was great and reasonably priced. The workers were friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back.

CAREFUL...Might Get Hooked on Fish Tacos

By George A |

I have been enjoying fish tacos in Austin for nearly 30 years. Back then, there was only one place that served fish tacos. Now, fish tacos are common fare at seafood, Mexican and TexMex restaurants around town. No need to drive around and take chances. No need to wait in long lines or over pay either. The one place you can be sure to enjoy the flavors, portions and price is here at Cabo Bob's. No joking...this is serious business. I can say they are better than the ones I have has in California at places in San Jose, San Diego, Fresno and San Franciso. I ordered the Deluxe Fish Tacos. The order includes three tacos which are unique. For example, the tortillas are cilantro tomatillo tortilla, the second is an anch chilli and the third is a buttermilk tortilla. The filler ingredients are chipotle crema, pico-de-gallo with mango, guacamole, cheese, finely shredded cabbage, lime and fresh crispy fried fish. The flavor is incredible. You can taste all the various ingredients from the crispy fired fish, avocado, cheese the smooth cream, tangy lime and spicy chipotle with a little crunch from the cabbage and finally the unique tortillas. The color of the entrée matches the wonderful flavor. I washed down my meal with a ginger ale which was a perfect pair. They have all sorts of seating...booths, tables, height tables and outdoor patio dining. As busy as the place was during lunch, our group of five from work each got our order fast and sat together at a large round booth.

Great food and great atmosphere!

By Toni Stark |

The burritos here were so good and huge! It had a similar feel and style as chipotle, but the food itself was way better! So many more options to choose from. I could only finish about 2/3 of my burrito and took the rest to go. I ate it cold for breakfast the next morning and it was still just as good! The sauces they have are so good and they have a ton to choose from!

Great food, real sugar soft drinks

By Matt C |

Loved the food; soft drinks with sugar, not corn syrup. I placed an order through the website, but the cashier didn't have it when I arrived. No worries, I went through the line and got just what I wanted. Great varieties of fresh ingredients, sauces. Love it!!!

!Best Burritos in town!

By Davids_great_reviews |

The food is excellent, larger than Chipotle, about the same price, but much, much tastier. You get 4 choices of tortilla (my favorite is Cilantro), delicious sides, and tasty sauces. You won't leave hungry, but you will leave happy :) Here's the real reason to go though- the atmosphere is wonderful. Chill reggae music (occasionally oldies/country, but very relaxed), comfortable seating, free refills, everything you could want in an unpretentious burrito joint. Every part of the surfer ambiance exudes relaxed cool. Only warning: avoid the lunch rush, it gets hella-crowded. I've taken dates there, family, out-of-town friends- and everyone has loved it. Do it!

Some of the Best Burritos Around.

By glennroid |

There's a reason there's usually a pretty long line here. There are a lot of burrito joints in Austin, but Cabo Bob's is one of the best. The main difference in a burrito is the ingredients (of course). They have 4 different types of tortilla wraps and when you order, they smash it down and grill right before they start putting in the ingredients. Doesn't get any fresher than that. I love the smokey cheddar tortilla. I usually get the shredded pork or chicken, but they have steak, brisket and very nice looking fried fish (I just don't like fried fish getting soggy in a burrito). They have three different types of beans and two types of rice as well as the usual other fillings. Their burritos are huge and I never am able to eat a whole one which is a shame because they don't taste quite as good warmed up later.

BEST BURRITOS EVER!!!

By Hookemhorns07 |

Chipotle used to be one of my favorite restaurants... UNTIL I ATE CABO BOBS! This place is soooooo much better with a lot more choices! And definitely try their special sauce. Best I've ever had. Tobasco could learn a thing or two from bob :)

Popular lunch spot

By John T |

Had a great time and the food was great! The staff were very friendly and talkative. The line was long but only waited about 10 minutes.

Don't look down behind the counter or on the floors

By WayneEnterprise |

There were 8 people working behind the counter and not one person cleaning. I looked behind the counter close to the tortilla maker and there was a 5" pile of food caked on the floor. That would explain all the flies in the restaurant. Also the dining area was dirty with food on the floor. Not one person cleaning.

greatest burritos, and fish tacos, in Austin

By Enzo C |

I happened to live across the street from the new Cabo Bob's near Guadalupe and i gave it a try a few months ago... Now it's a must stop every time I can. Best burritos and probably even better fish tacos in Austin. Word.

Great food

By Sailor Girl |

HUGE burritos - I could not believe the size. One burrito would provide 3 meals. I got mine in a bowl. i did the brisket bowl. it was very good. Can't wait to try the fish tacos, though. GO.

Amazing Food

By Von S |

Loved Cabo Bobs! I'm not a big fan of fish burritos but they were amazing. We were in Austin for 4 days and ate there three times. They go outside of the regular soda with pure cane sodas. I'm not sure where the soda is made, but it is so good! I will go back every time I'm in Austin.

Fantastic!

By Mary B |

My son and I were in Austin to look for an apartment for him for grad school. Several of his friends already at UT highly recommended Cabo Bob's and suggested that we ask for a combination of two of the tortilla flavors--cheddar cheese and tomatillo. We did that and the result was delicious. We got three soft tacos and tried the grilled chicken, the pulled pork and the beef brisket. It was all good, but the brisket was outstanding. And the guacamole is also fantastic. This is a can't miss!

Best Cali style burrito

By Jodie |

Wow! When I think tacos I think Austin not burritos but Cabo Bob’s IS hands down the best burrito I have eaten outside of Cali. Ordered the #10 veggie, it was huge and I couldn’t stop eating it. Hot sauce was great too!!!

Way Cool Burritos

By Paco A |

Cabo Bob's is THE place in Austin for a custom burrito. To start you can choose which fresh pressed tortilla (Buttermilk Flour, Ancho Chile, Cilantro Tomatillo or Smokey Cheddar) you would like. Then you get to pick your fillings, starting with rice (White or Brown), then beans (Pinto, Black or Baja), a protein (beef, chicken, pork, brisket or fried fish) or grilled veggie, and a wide variety of traditional and non traditional toppings (try the mango pico - yummy). I like to finish mine off with the XXtra Hot Sauce (3 alarm heat, IMHO). They can also make tacos, salads and bowls if you would like. They have a good choice of beverages including Jarritos, Topo Chico and Mexican Coke along with cane sugar offerings from the soda fountain, bottled water and iced tea. I have been dining here since the first week they opened and try to get by at least once per month. The are different (in a good way) from the chains (Chipotle & Freebird's) and because of that they get panned (IMHO) incorrectly by others. I like the atmosphere with flat screens tuned to sports inside with intimate tables and booths as well as a large communal table in the middle as well as some picnic table patio seating outside.

Yummy spot

By Gran7 |

This is one of our grandson’s favorite spots in Austin. We had it for a pre-graduation meal catered to their house. The delivery was efficient and knowledgeable! Food was hot and accurate. Great food for a crowd!

Love this place!

By commercesd |

Fairly reminds me of Chipotle, only slightly different offerings. Fresh, healthy and affordable. They will also adapt to what you want. For instance, you get just what you want on your tacos or whatever else you happen to order. Always feel great after I eat here and often have to take some home! Cute, friendly atmosphere, too.

Nice vegetarian option , economical

By Willowbroom Sam |

Nice vegetarian option , economical, quick. Parking was limited, but I managed to find a spot. Brown rice, tins of veggies. My son had a veggie burrito. They also had squeezed fresh lime available to add. I am not sure how clean the restrooms are. I found a few people waiting in a queue.

Good food

By bman0502 |

Fresh food and nice staff fast if you order on line. But if not will be a long wait but worth it.. .............. . ... .....,.

Burrito Baja Style

By dorcasm772 |

Fresh made to order. I enjoyed the food. There can be a line so come in before the lunch crowd. Drinks are not the normal brands but tasty. The lemonade was flavorful- no artificial sugar after taste. Lots of different menu fresh ingredients to add to your burrito or bowl. The beef was not overly flavored or seasoned and NO hot or spicy peppers cooked into the meat. Loved that. I enjoyed the three bean mix in my burrito. They also have white or brown rice for a filling.. Seating can be limited not enough space for the line. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Amazing !!!!

By Cindy |

The food in this place its amazing! Highly recommend it, they had different types of tortillas which are made to order, you heard it right, they cook your tortilla right in front of you. The ingredients are really fresh and flavors are amazing. Love the cheese sauce they put it on my burrito.

Mixed Feelings

By Waunderlust |

Pros: I got a beef fajita bowl, that meat was so delicious. Is because of that meat that i did not give a less rating. The guac is good. The zucchini, onions, and peppers are a nice touch. Cons:.....but even all that was no match for the fish tacos. My sister ordered them. They ran out of cabbage so they asked her if lettuce was ok. Didn't think that's too much of an issue, but the fish was. She gave me a bite of it and i wondered where the salt or any taste whatsoever was. "It was as if they were frozen, put in the oven, and served to you." There was no salt, no seasoning. It tasted like frozen fish sticks. So at least i was able to remember my Elementary School. Thanks for the memory, but.........i won't be back. Sorry!

Tale of Two Burritos

By Cedar_Park_chump |

My wife and I tried Cabo Bob's today. Both of us had burritos; beef fajita for me, chicken for her. I loved my beef fajita. The meat was flavorful and tender. The grilled onions and green peppers were perfect with this meat. I wasn't surprised, about the quality of the beef, because Cabo Bob's cooks their meat in Big Green Eggs, My wife was a little less impressed. Her chicken had all the flavor and texture of tofu. Both of us had the uneventful cilantro rice, I had the Cabo Beans, which were great. One of their other strengths is that they cook your tortilla to order. Although if had blindfolded us, we couldn't have told you it was tomatillo/cilantro flavor, we didn't care. The tortillas were great. The hot sauces were passable, although I will have the green the next time I eat there. Then came the debate, which is better, Chipotle, Freebirds, or Cabo Bob's? Both of us like Freebirds the best.. I say, that if Cabo's had Freebird's barbecue sauce, it would be perfect, because it has the best beef and totiillas, I give it to Freebirds by a nose because I like their rice better too. My wife likes Chipotle's better than Cabo's because their chicken is more flavorful, the beans are better and she likes Chipotle's corn relish. Regardless, I would eat at any of the three places.

Now that's a Burrito

By DavidLowe0228 |

This place is the bomb. Was looking for a place for a bite to eat for lunch and I saw something new. Cabo Bob's. This is the freshest best burrito I have ever had. Most places already have their tortillas cooked, not this place. You get to choose from 4 flavors and then they grab a ball of dough and smash it into a tortilla and through it on the grilling iron. I chose the smoked cheddar, fabulous. Once the tortilla is cooked then then pile it with some of the freshest ingredients on the earth. This is by far the best burrito out there. Beats Freebirds and Chipotle any day of the week. Get the brisquet meat with black beans and all the veggies you desire and bam. They have 4 sauces ranging in heat that has a different taste than any sauce I have ever tried.

So many combinations.

By Desiree B |

First, I should say that I have only been to the location on 29th Street by UT. So, I am not reviewing the Ben White location. The food fresh and fast. The location is clean. The owner is wonderful. What I think makes this restaurant stand apart from other restaurants with the same model is the variety--you don't feel like you are getting the same meal over and over again (like at Chipotle). You can go in so many directions with the choices. We are lucky to live so close and go often so that we have become more adventuresome in our selections, and, I guess my advice is to go for it! Nothing we have had has been bad. I personally like the brisket. I wish I could order the nachos more (darn calories), but I haven't been disappointed with the salad or the tacos. My two sons will vouch for the burritos. There is no way I could eat one of those in a sitting.

The burrito joint in Austin!!!

By Felipe M |

My family and I love to come here. This place beats Chipotle hands down. Their ingredients are the best, and the food tastes very fresh!

Fish Tacos, Baby!

By homeowner E |

No, I didn't order a burrito at Cabo Bob's which is apparently the thing to do. I was in a fish taco kind of mood and you know what, they were pretty darn tasty. I did have to go back for more Chipotle Crema sauce because it needed a little extra something and it totally did the trick. Tasty white fish, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Lots of fresh ingredients though the mango wasn't close to being ripe. You get three tacos and, honestly, it was seriously cheap for the quantity and quality of food. By the way, the husband opted for a burrito which he liked but still thinks Freebirds is better.

Awesome

By MattandAmyG |

I've liked Chipotle for almost 20 years, and I still do. However, this place puts it to shame. I don't live in Austin anymore, but whenever I return I go to Cabo Bob's at least once. Instead of starting out with a flour tortilla pulled out of a plastic bag like Chipotle does, they take dough (with several options - ancho chile is my favorite) and make you a fresh tortilla. That all by itself makes going to CB worthwhile. You get to choose between three types of beans (pinto, black, or baja). You can't go wrong with any of them, but the baja goes especially well with the pork. You get to choose between two rices (cilantro lime white rice or brown rice). Both are good, but try the brown rice. It really gives a nice texture. The meats are superb - chicken, steak, shredded beef, fish, and shredded pork, and they're all fresh and nicely flavored. Like Chipotle, they make fresh salsas, but they aren't limited to the basics. They always add something to make them a little unique, and they have a bigger selection of peppers and veggies. It would be absolutely criminal to get a burrito here without adding chipotle crema. It's legendary. Even the sodas are special. Instead of serving junky high-fructose corn syrup sodas, they use real cane sugar - makes all the difference. The service is exceptional for a fast food place. The employees are courteous, and they move the line amazingly fast. Even if the line is out the door (as it often is at lunchtime), the line moves quickly. Though they have more choices than Chipotle does (and therefore should be slower), they move the line faster. It's just a well-oiled, but friendly, machine.

My grand daughter's favorite

By john j |

I was a little skeptical when my granddaughter wanted to go here, but was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, service excellent and the place had a vibrant atmosphere (perhaps because it is close to UT campus). You can get a choice of tortias as well as a choice of toppings and fillings. I would definitely return.

Great place to eat tacos and burritos!

By Leslie C |

The food is very good. Kind of like the way you have a sandwich made at Subway's. They have great customer service and the store has a very clean, fun atmosphere.

Large portion, great fillings, unfriendly staff

By Jorge V |

The food is awesome. The staff was terrible. We asked for help on understanding how that worked and we were completely hushed through the process line. By the way we were the only ones in the line. Besides that, food is great. Food is 5 but staff is 2 so scored as 3 as the result.

Best food on earth

By Beth R |

Cabo bobs is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. They have so many choices, and I've never been disappointed with any of my selections/ burrito designs. Definitely put plenty of their 66 sauce on anything you get for extra kick. My only complaint is that they don't have this restaurant in every city in the world so I can make sure to eat it as often as possible. Thanks, Cabo Bob's! i'll be seeing you soon.

Good burritos - with fish as a choice

By k5tm |

Cabo Bob's is not unliike some other burrito 'joints' that have arrived on the scene in recent years. The most significant departure is the availability fish tacos/burritos/bowls. This was the impetus for our visit here for Saturday lunch. Portions were generous. I had the fish burrito (#4) while my wife had the fish tacos (#3). The ingredients were similar, though not identical. The burritos come in a tortilla that is pressed and cooked right in front of you while you stand in the line. Our grandson had a chicken burrito, which he consumed to the very last nibble. I also observed, but did not partake of, fountain drinks that were not the standard name brand fare. Instead, the signage claimed that all the fountain drinks used cane sugar. Overall, good to excellent quality food with a larger set of choices than typical, though at a slightly high price point than some of the competition.;

Sub par

By CharlotteAmalie |

Lacks flavor compared to its competitors, Chipotle and Free Birds. Very bland. Does not serve alcohol

Excellent FRESH tortillas

By Jon E |

Ate here with two coworkers when we were on the south side of town. Looks like a regular burrito place a la Freebirds but with more colorful decor. But then when you get to the front of the line you see they press and grill the tortillas right there in front of you as you order. I think there are four types of tortillas to select from. From there it is basically a burrito line where you pick your ingredients. They offer fish which I think is unique. Anyway - I will definitely return when in the area.

Excellent food, a hidden jewel

By unec |

I will start by saying that I'm not a big burrito fan so to write a review less than 30 minutes after visiting a burrito joint is a big deal. In short, the food was excellent, all components very well seasoned, and the service great. The portions are unbelievably huge and the prices very reasonable .Taste and quality are not sacrificed for quantity. I got the steak burrito with queso and other members of my party got different things. Everyone loved their good. The line was long but the service was quick, efficient and polite. I'll definitely be coming back to visit and I don't even live in Austin!!! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Good fish tacos

By jesfire415 |

My first visit to Cabo Bob's Burritos was a pleasant surprise. The place is very clean, and a has a nice vibe, and the service was good. I ordered the fish tacos on corn tortillas and it was satisfying and good. The nachos with beef fajita was also a winner.

An Austin Favorite

By Blue Highways of Texas |

This is a great casual restaurant in the heart of Austin, Texas. Wonderful burritos, tacos, soups and salads made with a Carribean twist. Caba Bob's uses the freshest ingredients, and most items are made from scratch. Our meal is prepared in front of us as we selected from the many options on the menu board. Be prepared for delicious food with large portions. Indoor and outdoor seating. They offer catering, online, dine-in, take-out and delivery services. closed on Sundays. We had good, solid service and will eat here again when we are in the Austin area again.

Pleasant surprise

By Margaret W |

I had a coupon for CaboBob's that I won at a GirlStart event that I had to use by the end of March. So, my friend and I got there on our second try (first time the place was way too crowded to get in so we had a lovely lunch next door at Hea Cafe (Southeast Asian -- I have reviewed them too). But this time, we went early and got in. Lots of choices for burritos and a few tacos too. I had the steak burrito (#7) on smokey cheese tortilla. It was huge and very tasty. Since I could choose what went into it, I could avoid peppers (they don't like me) and got extra veggies. My friend got #9, the chicken burrito: very tasty. The tea was good too. The burritos are so big, we both took leftovers home. Since they come wrapped in foil, it was easy and they have extra foil for bagging stuff. We plan to come back soon!

Always Fresh & Delicious!

By AlexMu |

Cabo Bob's has and will always be a favorite spot of mine in Austin! The ingredients you get to choose from are fresh and they give you plenty of options. The staff is friendly and usually they have the same people that work there for years (which is always a good sign). Recommendation: Try the Mango Salsa (Not Spicy, just delicious)

Fish Tacos, por favor!

By Christopher C |

This is one of my favorite fish taco stops in Austin! The fish is fried and the chunks are decent size. Baja or fully loaded, burrito or taco, you can't go wrong! You should not leave hungry, and won't have to spend a lot on lunch. Baja fish tacos with water, $7. Get there a few minutes before 11 for a quick lunch, otherwise the line might be out the door. Definitely get a punch card, after six, the next is free, and chances are you will be back.

Real fresh ingredients

By jay_dog98 |

Cabo Bobs was really good. The food and ordering style was similar to Chipotle, but the food was much better. They have several types of tortillas and they make yours for you when you order. And the chips and queso were very good.

Large portions, great selection

By daisylouwho |

HUGE portions is what you can expect at Cabo Bob's. It reminded me a bit of Moe's but I actually like Cabo Bob's better. Build your own burrito includes choosing the tortilla, smoky cheddar was AMAZING. They do not skimp on the ingredients here. My kids generally like Mexican but they didn't like what they got which means we probably won't be back much, but I can truly recommend this.

Definitely a little chain like

By Alicia K |

Had a great meal. Fast service. Highly recommend the fish tacos. Comparable to chipotle qudoba or moe’s. Burritos are huge!!!

Found by accident, will return

By Donald K |

We were in the area and looking to eat, saw the Chick Fil A next door, and then noticed this place. A quick Trip Advisor check and we ate here. It was great. Great value, awesome taste, quick service. Definitely worth going back again.

Fresh burritos fast

By Jacob S |

Great selection on types of tortillas and its made fresh right in front of you. Had the cilantro tortilla with pork and it was delicious.

Greasy food, unkind service

By Susan W |

My mother always says "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". Sorry, Mom! But folks should know where the good food in Austin is, and where it isn't. This was our second visit to Cabo Bobs- both were really just awful. Large portions of bland and greasy food. Yuk. The guys behind the counter were quite pushy. I ordered a #6, and like another reviewer said, I was asked, or rather demanded to tell them what I wanted at each step. There are so many places to get incredible food in Austin. Cabo Bobs is definitely NOT one of them: ( We won't be back.

Craving California? Look no further!

By Barbara C |

Whenever I get down to Austin, Texas, I like to try out new restaurants and on this trip I found Cabo Bob’s Mexican restaurant. Ever since we moved from Southern California two years ago, I am in search of good fish tacos. Cabo Bob’s fish taco late delivers! If you are looking for a bit of Ocean Beach, Rubio’s and a reminder of good beach food, stop by! You KNOW the food is good when you see folks from all walks of life eating there! 😋💞⛱ Here’s my plate, a little Cabo Bob’s history and the menu! Eat up, friends!!!

So much better than Chipotle

By LovedMaui |

Similar setup- tell the nice people what you'd like in/on bowl or burrito or tacos. Everything is delicious. The homemade tortillas are yummy.

What could be better than quick and good? Great fish tacos. The line moves quickly and you get a plethora of options to choose from.

Bueno!

Great custom made burritos which are really filling. Pick your shell, meat, veggies and sauce. I only wish they were in Illinois.

Best burritos!!

By brenda h |

We love Cabo Bobs!!! You have several choices of tortillas which they press and cook in front of you. You then get to fill it with your choices of meat, rice and beans and toppings. I love the mango pico and the jalapeño sauce. Guac is decent too. Watch out...finished product is huge!!!

Best thing I’ve eaten in a while

By Four4OnTheRoad |

The Deluxe fish tacos were in my top three best fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. It had all the right combination of hot and cold, crispy and soft, crunchy, savory. It was amazing.

Went on a whim

I have lived in texas since may and for some reason have found it difficult living in downtown austin to find a wam-bam burrito joint. You know, when you just want a good burrito and move on your way. While this is not downtown (but would love one to be) I liked the set up, and the food was very good. I also loved the vegetarian options. Everything was flavorful and came out hot. Give you good sized drink glasses and fun atmosphere, relaxed. I will be back.

Unique, fresh-made Tex-Mex

By Molly B |

When we arrived, the line was out the door. It remained out the door until we left. It was clear why - the food was amazing! The tortillas are made right in front of you. The food tasted great. We highly recommend the chips and queso, as well as the burritos.

Don't have the chicken, otherwise 'eh'

By DyPurc |

Cute atmosphere, friendly enough staff.... Had chicken tacos with Baja beans, corn/mango salsa, pico, avocado, fresh cilantro, brown rice. The chicken was dry and tasteless. However other ingredients we're fresh and as expected. Generous servings but not worth the $9 simply because of the tasteless meat. Next time I'll stick with Chipotle for their chicken. First time at Cabo Bobs and it was fairly busy for late lunch hour. Other menu items may be great, but I won't be back.

Go Hungry

Our first visit here and the line was out the door. It did move smoothly and we felt the food is worth the wait. Burritos are around $7, chips and salsa $2, drinks $2. Choose burrito or tacos with one of four tortilla flavors or get a bowl (pretty much a burrito without the tortilla). Brown or white lime rice. Three different types of beans, squash, grilled onions, peppers and lots of other goodies to choose. Meats range from fish, pork carnitas, and fajita chicken or beef. Chicken was a little tough. Tables available inside and outside.

You can still eat here if you are gluten free...

This is a popular place mostly for their homemade flour tortillas. As we were all GF, we got either corn tortilla tacos or salad. The portions were generous and you get to custom pick your ingredients.

Awesome Tacos - fresh shells

By fsupolito |

I couldn't believe they were cooking the taco right in front of me. Then the rest of the ingredients were equally fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back.

Lunch break

By hac_24 |

Cabo bobs was highly recommended by a coworker for a quick lunch break. The tortillas are made fresh and are prepared in front of customers. While a nice change, the tortillas were unusually greasy. I found my veggie burrito a little bland. With queso, the burrito itself was $10. I could only eat 1/3 of it though, so it's worth the price since it can feed 2-3.

The best burritos in town!

By Deblynn54 |

Cabo Bob's is a family-run restaurant that pays attention to every detail. They have a variety of tacos to choose from that are made on the spot while you watch. Want a variety? The choices are endless, and you pick and choose and make up your own plate. Thank goodness they have suggestions, or I would have been lost. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners, and Cabo Bob's will be catering my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner...the ARE that good! It is a place you must try...and Cabo Bob's will not disappoint.

Giant Burritos

By jerz609 |

The burritos are so big, enough for 2 people or 2 meals. The flavors were good and the service pleasant and speedy. Seemed like a popular spot based on the crowd. I found what appeared to be a sizable rock or piece of granite counter top inside my burrito. I actually bit down on it - hard; thankfully I wasn't injured and it didn't damage my teeth (at least I didn't notice any damage). I immediately returned the un-eaten portion and the manager, Errasmo, apologized and offered me a free meal if I decided to give them another try. Since I wasn't injured, it wasn't a dead bug or animal that was found, the food was good, and the manager did the right thing (thanks Errasmo) I gave it another try. Take 2 was a better eating experience. I don't think I'd eat there again, however.

Feel of the west coast in Austin

By Majordad82 |

This restaurant is a casual place to grab some favorite tacos once found only on the west coast. It does add some Tex Mex flavor to the mix. I tried the fish tacos, and it was close to some of my favorite tacos I enjoyed in San Diego. Evidently, this was a popular place by locals as demonstrated by the steady stream of patrons on a Monday night.

Great Food

The food here was incredible. The portion size was a giant burrito. It was like getting Chipotle, but much better. Would go back again and again for their food.

Very disappointed

By VeryRarelyTravel |

Read the reviews, so expected something to write home about. Instead, was very unremarkable, even bland. About the only benefit was the volume of food for the money. The family had a variety of items, and all were disappointed. Service was also disappointing as we chose menu items off the board. However, the staff then proceeded to ask what each of us wanted on the item at each step, so we had to keep saying: I ordered a number 7. It was unclear if we did not understand the process, or if they could not read the board. Wish I would have found a FreeBirds instead.

Great Fresh Tex-Mex

Love that the tortillas are made when you order. The chips are also house-made. Everything was fresh and service was quick, even during a busy lunch crush.

Must eat fish tacos here

By Yatriguru |

Absolutely tasty fish tacos. Freshly made tortillas. You can customize the fillings. Saw a guy order a huge burrito with all kinds of fillings. If I wrre in Austin, I would eat here weekly. Next time I will try a burrito, probably will be enough for two meals!

Best Burritos Ever

By Debra P |

My daughter and I were in Austin for four days. We found Cabo Bobs the best burritos we have ever ate! I had chicken and my daughter had the fish. We thought they were amazing!!!

Good interpretation

By bking71855 |

I found this burrito place to be above average for this genre of food. The wraps are actually heated in a large open grill/skillet looking thing that really adds to the flavor as they are not just a steamed item. The fillings were all tasty and the queso has a good not so processed flavor. I tried the fried fish nuggets as the main protein for something different and it was surprisingly fresh and a very good compliment to the other ingredients. I have returned to this location a few times and it's definitely a quality experience all around.

Amazing Food

By AQueenB |

If you don’t mind standing in line for an excellent meal, then this is the place for you. Everything is fresh snd hot and delicious. The fish tacos are wonderful. The brisket burrito and the pork burrito are amazing. The chips and Queso are soooo good. But my favorite was the medium hot sauce. The spices and consistency were perfect. And all reasonably priced. We can’t wait to go again.

Big Portions

By Jenny G |

Went for dinner with friends. I ordered a burrito, everyone else a bowl. Food was good and portions were huge. You could split a dinner and everyone would have enough. You do place your order before you sit down.
