We ate here whilst staying at the hotel Whitcomb, as it is literally just around the corner. Great place with friendly staff, plus good food at reasonable prices too.

The Cadillac margarita was outstanding. But the guacamole was probably the best I've ever had. Amazing! Good service and lively atmosphere.

We were looking for someplace for dinner near the Orpheum Theater. My wife and I had fajitas with steak and shrimp. The dinner was very good. The service was prompt and it's just a block and a half from the theater.

Had an hour before our concert at the Orpheum Theatre. We just had drinks at the bar. Bartenders where nice and pleasant. Took a little time to get someones attention, but they where busy. We ordered just a glass of wine and a beer. Everyone around us was ordering margaritas, what they are known for. Atmosphere is nice, location is really close to Civic Center.

I shared a Cadillac platter after seeing a musicalat the OrpheumTheatre. The meats were a bit dry but tasted good, especially the pollo asada. Sides of rice and beans were average. The Mango margarita was all right but appeared to use canned juice. Service was polite and prompt. They forgot my chips and salsa. I had to remind them.

I have been here a few times, and every time it is a blast. Great bartenders and for me, never a reason to get a table. Sit at the bar and let the night progress. I love their Pacifico Micheladas and last time I ws in the bartender made me a Corona Mojito which was awesome. Salsa music some Thursdays but even without there is plenty to see! Love this place and I'll see ya again soon.

My friends and I had lunch and it was delicious! Everything is made fresh and you can definitely taste the freshness. I recommend the fajitas and guacamole. The staff were all friendly and very attentive.

We ate their twice. Fish tacos and nacho plate were both pretty good. The pork taco on the our second visit needed a sauce, too dry. The fajita would benefit from cheese and either a smaller portion or more wraps.

We dined here only because we had a show at the Orpheum 1.5 blocks away and there are not good choices for dinner nearby. We did get to hear some live Mexican music when we arrived 2 hrs before our show. The best thing we had was the thin, crispy tortilla chips with salsa. I would’ve been happy with just those 2 items. We ordered the ‘seasonally’ priced guacamole, a pricey, bland dish at $12. My puffy tacos - 2 oily shells which reminded me of East Indian pooris bread. I liked the carne asada better than the carnitas taco. It came with a pile of lettuce which wasn’t a salad as it had no dressing, and a small container of pinto beans and Mexican rice. Hubby and friend both had the steak fajitas which they liked. We shared a pitcher of mango margarita and desserts of chocolate cake,

Waiter recommended the lobster tacos and he was right on. Good Sangria and excellent service. Close to Orpheum if you're headed to a show. Parking nearby.

My friends and I enjoyed the delicious food especially the quesadillas and tacos as well as the ambiance. It is a very family friendly restaurant

Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service! The restaurant was clean and very nice. Must visit if you are in San Francisco!

We had a good meal but a strange experience at the Cadillac Bar & Grill. We were looking for a restaurant within walking distance of the Golden Gate Theatre where we could have an early dinner after a matinee. I tried to book a table at 4:30 on Opentable, and there was nothing available. So I called, and they said they had a reservation available for 5:00 pm but would get us in earlier if possible. We arrived when they opened their doors, at 4:00 pm, and there were only a few other customers. We were seated almost immediately. A handful of people showed up by 4:30 and the place was half full by 5:00 pm, but we were dumbfounded at why we were told they were overbooked. Anyway, except for that, the only complaint we had was that the margarita was watered down. The food was great. I recommend the carnitas -- delicious. And the others in our group had the stuffed tacos and said they were excellent as well. So, a strange, but satisfying experience. The neighborhood is "in transition" so still a little seedy. But the restaurant itself was very nice.

My shrimp bacon jalapeno plate was delicious, however the portion was very small and the vegetables a bit overcooked. The new location is very noisy. In fact it is so loud that if you are not there to get drink, it’s not much fun since you have to shout to be heard by your friends, and we were at a small table. Tip: Eat and drink at the bar to have a conversation.

We had the "puffy tacos" which were delicious, best guacamole I've had in a long time. Tried the spicy pineapple marguerite which was yummy!!! Service was great, we would definitely go back.

I gave them four star, since their food , their ambiance, their tastes were perfect. But the service was awfull i think this is our bad luck, nobody can be that bad!! So thats why i only cut their one star, hope to have a good service person.

My husband and I ate her last year so when we took our family vacation out here this year, we knew we had to eat here again.. The staff are friendly, attentive and quick to assist. The margaritas are delicious and they always have some specialty flavored ones...the fajitas are amazing!!! but really all the food is...it's a must try!

We went to the Cadillac with friends & family. So glad to have this restaurant back! The food is special, full of flavor. I had the puffy chicken tacos. The owners are fantastic too! Very friendly place!

Absolutely amazing service, amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing prices. When we come back to Sanfrancico this will be on the top of my list of places to stop.

What delicious food, great atmosphere, the waiter was really on top of everything and not far from the show, Hamilton. I would go back there again and again!

Large facility with the same great Mexican cuisine I remember from the earlier location downtown. Excellent burritos with black beans and anything else you wish. Waiters were great with my 7 year old granddaughter and she responded by eating all of the taco dish with here favorite ingredients. Big plus is ability to pre-book on OPEN TABLE

My coworkers, a group of friends from out of town and I were getting together for drinks and a lite snack. There were 11 of us and we were there after 5:00 pm. First there were five of us and it took a few minutes to be served our first round of drinks, which consisted of a lemon drop, two beers on tap and a pitcher of the mango margaritas. The lemon drop was so badly made that we had to return it and got a beer instead. The mango margarita tasted like a mango smoothie and we could not taste any liquor. They also described a Happy Hour but the pitcher of Mango margaritas was $36.00, which seemed high in price to me. Also their guacamole happy hour special was so small it only took about 3-4 dips with a chip and it was done. One of my coworkers described the place like an expensive Chevy’s. The rest of our group arrived and ordered a drink and a few small plates. Their bill came to about $150.00, which also seemed high for Happy Hour. Since it is near our office I wanted it to work so that we could become regulars but unfortunately it did not work out that way. As far as the serving staff, our waitress was fine but I noticed that when people were coming in for dinner the staff never smiled. I observed the front desk a few times and noticed that I only saw one staff member smile the entire time. I will give it a second chance in the future, I still have hope.

The Cadillac Bar and Grill is near Market Street and easy to get to. The atmosphere was pleasant with a Mexican band playing live music. It is a sports bar so there were quite a few large TVs going. The noise level was quite high. The service was great. Our food was very good. We both ordered Mexican entrees. I had the shrimp fajitas. It was loaded with shrimp and veggies. I would definitely go back here if I am in the area again!

We went to 2 other restaurants before we had found one with food we liked on the menu. Gillermo took care of us. Service was Excellent! We ordered fajitas and a Cesar salad. Food was delicious. Best we've had so far on this trip. WONDERFUL.

My family and I dined here after attending a weekday matinee. We did make a reservation. The restaurant wasn’t too busy when we arrived but was quite busy by the time we finished. Atmosphere is airy, noisy and fun. We had great service and food was very good. We started with chips and guacamole and our main dishes included chicken fajita puffy tacos, skirt steak fajitas, and shrimp/lobster enchiladas. We all enjoyed our meals! Dessert was also delicious. My daughter thought the flan was the best she’s ever had. We would definitely recommend and come back next time we are in the area.

Great experience at this very nice Mexican restaurant. We had a lovely dinner with our two young kids. Delicious taco’s for a very reasonable price, they have a nice selection of several beers on draft (as well as bottled) and some good cocktails. Had a surprise ‘desert’ for our kids after paying which was a nice bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and recommend this to anyone travelling to SF and with a craving for good Mexican food.

We went here before a concert one night. Food was great, as was the service. Only complain would be that for ordering 4 Cadillac margaritas they seemed a little on the light side. Overall great drinks, good selection of specialty items as well.

Ate at Cadillac Bar & Grill before seeing Le Miserables at the Orpheum on a Friday night. We chose it because it's close to the venue and we love Mexican food. We had reservations and were seated right away when we arrived. Our server was friendly and attentive. He was on top of things in terms of drink refills and making sure nothing I ordered had dairy (I have an allergy). The guacamole and empanadas were to die for. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious. We ordered a single dessert to share (we were so full!) and it was yummy too. We'll 100% be coming back next time we're in town for a show!

Good Mexican food. The seafood platter for 2-3 was great, with fish, shrimp and ceviche. The grilled vegetables were great, as were the carnitas. The bisteak tampequena had excellent flavorings, though the steak itself wasn't remarkable. The house margaritas were okay, not great, though also not overly sweet. Service was quite good.

Wife and I needed to find a good restaurant near Strand Theatre for an early dinner (5-5:30 PM) and found this place. An impressively large, high-ceilinged, cavernous but lively (and noisy, if quieter, I’d give 5 stars) restaurant with a very large bar area, they serve interesting margaritas and excellent Mexican food. Even at 5:15 PM on a Saturday, the restaurant was quite crowded, but we were promptly seated with reservation. Wife had their house margarita and I had “kick ass” which is described as 150 proof Mezcal, Agave nectar. The waitress warned me that Mezcal tastes very different than usual tequila. Indeed, it had a rather strong taste, which I liked, though wife imagined it tasted as if a reptile had been immersed. We ordered the haddock ceviche, sea food platter for 2 ($64), and a half pound skirt steak fajita ($20). The ceviche, served with chips, was quite fresh and tasty, the sea food platter with two skewers of shrimp and various sea food, grilled large prawns and fish was well seasoned and delicious, as were accompanying veggies and beans. The fajita was also quite delicious, and their salsa was outstanding. The service was friendly and attentive. We were quite full when we finished about 2/3 of the sea food platter and 1/3 of the fajita, so we took the rest home for another feast (alas, minus the kick ass margarita!). We’ll be here again when we come to the Strand next time.

We were looking for a place close to the theatre for an early dinner. Cadillac came up in our search. We had Mexican food the night before. We decided to eat here as it was the closest and best rated. The puffy tacos ...yummy! Two were quite filling. My daughter had steak fajitas. The meat was well seasoned and very tender. The cup of beans were some of the best I have had at a restaurant outside of New Orleans. I would eat here again.

Came here upon recommendations from friends that have been here previously and know the owner and some of the staff (and highly recommended it). All came over and shook my hand with a gracious welcome (wonderful plus!). I felt immediately welcome after having to deal with the relentless homeless people out front hanging around after we were trying to pay for parking (scary). Our first impressions of the space were quite impressive. Very airy, cheerful, modern and urban with some great art. Unfortunately, they ran out of my buddy's drink of choice (chardonnay), but they informed us that they were in the process of changing the bar menu with new selections of wines, etc. I had the Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc, which is always wonderful, but the temperature barely chilled, which we brought up to the bar mgr. (Juan) whom apologized and offered to chill my Sauvignon Blanc. We then moved to a table and was graciously and hospitably served by a very nice young lady (Sarah). I had the Halibut Special of the day, and they were happy to substitute beans for rice. The veggie accompaniment was delicious. My friends (a couple) split a chicken and shrimp plate with tortillas and beans and they said that was superb. We all had so much food, that we ended up taking much of it home with us, which the staff eagerly accommodated us. All in all, they are very warm and engaging from the moment you step in the doors, and are very eager to please, and the food, staff and ambience is exemplary.

First of all they saved our reservation after coming in very late because of bad traffic due to a big protest at city hall. We only had an hour before Hamilton at the Orpheum. We were greeted with big smiles and were whisked away to our table. The FABULOUS waiter Guillermo already knew we were on a tight schedule and got us started with drinks and a guacamole appetizer. I love that for the same price as a flute of champagne anywhere else, I could get a split here. The guacamole was delicious and our shared steak and shrimp fajitas were fabulous too. Service was amazing and attentive. The place is crowded, lively and fun. I’d go back here anytime.

Hidden on 9th street, and coming back after a hiatus, is the Cadillac bar and grill. Its big its open-air, the bar is very long, There were lots of tables on the night we were there, but I'll bet this place fills up when it's not a few days before Christmas. We had a gigantic fajitas plate that served everybody at the table. Every meat was cooked perfectly. The pork was oh so tender, the steak oh so flavorful, the chicken barbecued just right. If you're observant as you come in you might notice giant stacks of bags of Mesquite charcoal, and it adds a nice flavor to that chicken I'll tell you. My wife who is the beans expert declared their beans to be one of the best, "wow" I said. That doesn't happen very often. We were all off to other engagements after dinner so we didn't do much drinking, but the drinkers at the bar we're having their shots of tequila and slamming down the glasses, where you would think somebody drop something really large on the other side of the room. Prices seem reasonable for the area, parking was simple for me, and I think it's worth coming back, on another trip thru San Francisco.

We were looking for a good Mexican restaurant so we walked to this place from the shopping area (we walked thru the Mission - not recommended, kind of sketchy). We were seated right away so we ordered a pitcher of margaritas. The service was great and restaurant had a nice, clean atmosphere. My husband order the fajitas and I ordered the Pozole soup. All of it was delicious! portion size was good and guacamole is worth a try.

We were a party of five who enjoyed a pre theater dinner at this large, busy, noisy "Cantina". We began with Cadillac's warm, crispy, addictive tortilla chips, spicy salsa and a generous dish of Guacamole. The flavor of really good avocados wasn't overpowered by two many unnecessary additions. The signature Puffy Tacos filled with pork carnitas were ordered by threeof us and proclaimed delicious. The rice and accompanying beans were rather mediocre. The enchiladas Suisas were also a hit and the very good hearty chicken tortilla soup was more like a stew than soup and was piled with crispy tortilla shreds. Margaritas were generous and good. Service was prompt and helpful We will definitely look forward to returning to this San Francisco classic.

Had delicious puffy fish tacos with the best rice and beans! Guacamole was awesome. Great filling meal at a reasonable price.

"They're Puffy and Fluffy and you can't get enough-y!" Absolutely! We were up in SF for Hamilton, and didn't have a ton of time, and came across this place. Asked if we could eat kind of quick. They woman suggested we eat at the bar. No prob. OMG! We ordered, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands AND THE FOOD WAS ALREADY THERE! It was MAYBE 2 minutes! And it was SO GOOD!!! (It's even making me type in all caps, and add lots of exclamation points, even though, y'know, that's really annoying.) We each had the plate with two tacos and rice and beans and were totally satisfied. So, yeah, we will TOTALLY go back – especially when seeing shows at the Orpheum in SF.

Like the title says, service was good but the food was average. I've had better, spicier food but the atmosphere was good, the wine plentiful and the service was good.

We were going to the Orpheum for what turned out to be a mediocre play (American in Paris) so I booked here because of the description and location. Some Yelpers had issues, but our experience was very good. We had the chips and guacamole for appetizer and the chips were thin and delicious. The guac was good and plentiful, ane the salsa pleasingly spicy. The free reload came without asking. I had the Enchiladas Suiza, and my wife had the beef burrito. Both were delicious and the heat from the verde sauce on mine was perfect for heat and flavor. The only negative was too little of it. My wife loved hers. We had the signature margaritas which were well made and priced normal. The gaffe came when the waitress didn't get them to us until our entre's were served. We had only water for the appetizers. We skipped dessert as we had to get to the show. Lots of people were there for the show also, so I would suggest a reservation if you have a show to attend. The service was a bit rushed, and the drinks getting there very late were the only down sides. We will definitely come back as the food and the margarita's were all perfect.

Having been to the Cadillac Bar & Grill several times, I am pleased to say that it is a great addition to the neighborhood! Whether dining with a couple of friends or a large group, the food has been consistently delicious and the atmosphere conducive to a great time. The margaritas are well worth the splurge, but are addictive so no necessarily a good choice for lunch. The service has been adequate, although somewhat better for groups of four or less. The only downside is that it is set up in a big warehouse and is therefore quiet noisy. It is not a good choice for a quiet or private conversation as you will need to speak loudly. I look forward to returning many times!

You walk in during happy hour. Does the bartender offer you a happy hour menu? No. Does he bring the free chips and salsa everyone else around you gets? No. Does he charge you more for a Hornitos margarita than than the price on the happy hour list? Yes. Thankfully my friends who came later had a different bartender. The food can be tasty but NEVER order the fish tacos - you will get the smallest amount of fish you've ever seen in a taco. Thankfully seeing "Hamilton" saved the night for us, and much like Thomas Jefferson, "What'd I Miss" was fair and competent service.

The fajitas were very good, and the margaritas were also quite good. We got a combination of corn and flour tortillas, which were enough to handle our order, which was the fajitas for two size. The salsa that came with the basic chips and salsa was exceptional! It was disappointing, especially considering the rich history of this restaurant, that they didn't carry through with the white table cloths and white jackets on the waiters, which were part of that history. The iconic SF Cadillac Bar and Grill was closed when the Moscone Center was expanded, and was reopened at its current location a few years ago, but without the original trappings handed down from its namesake's location in Guadalajara. The feel of this incarnation of the restaurant is very similar to Chiles. Clearly one of the better choices for dining in this neighborhood, very convenient for people headed to the theater at the Orpheum.

Stop in after a event in SF, I had the burger and the wife had the fajitas both were ordinary and nothing special but the Cosmo martini was very good, the service was good , the hold thing is a little overpriced

I've eaten A LOT of Mexican food living in California, but seriously this was the best. The puffy tortillas were new. The fish taco had no batter, but just wonderful fish. However, it was the beans that were to die for. Excellent staff in every way. Yes, the place is loud, there are back tables away from the bar.

This large space serves good Mexican food, though some may find different from the classic fare most Americans are used to. For instance the stuffed chili pepper is stuffed with squash and cheese.

The place was jammed with pre-theater patrons. There is literally no place to eat near the Orpheum theater. Our waiter was great. Drinks and food arrived cheerfully and promptly. That's the end of the good news. The margaritas were flavorful but very weak. The "puffy tacos" were dripping grease. The fish in the fish taco was at least a day beyond its "consume by" date. There was some evidence of sauce in the taco, but no taste of it. Pouring salsa on it helped. The chicken in the fajitas was classic rubber chicken. Puffy and tasteless. All in all a poor food choice.

I wanted to see this new Cadillac bar. The old one fell victim to the Moscow Center development. The room is very large with an open kitchen and a long bar. There are also one or two private dining rooms. TV screens were mounted around the bar but no sound. I had the Cadillac Margarita and ordered a couple of appetizers. I recommend the steak pancho and the queso with turkey chorizo. It was enough for a meal and the appetizers were $5 each. Service from my waitress Sara was friendly and by the time I left at 6pm the room was about 60% full. With the high ceilings I can imagine it getting pretty loud but it wasn't while I was there. It looks like a fun spot.

We picked this restaurant because it was walking distance to the theatre where Hamilton was playing and it could accommodate four of us at 6 pm. The food was OK, nothing special. Ceviche was good; puffy taco ok. prices a little high but figured we were paying for SF prices, had to cover their rent. What wasn't OK was the awful service. It wasn't the waitress's fault. She was covering a huge area. What was truly awful was how long it took to get our food. Again, not her fault. Once she realized how long we had been waiting, she went back to the kitchen to check, then kept reporting back to us, but it took an hour for some pretty simple food. Table next to us came in at same time and was finished eating before our food arrived. I think they lost our order.

This place is nothing to seek out, but if you work in the area and need margaritas- this is your place! We shared a few pitchers and appetizers at the bar after work.

Great Margaritas and decent Mexican food, not as authentic as the Mission neighborhood but the location is great for cocktails and pre-performance dining. Lots of big screens for sports. They also have rooms for private parties.

Stop by between 3-6pm for happy hour. We made it at 5:30 and got some reduced appetizers and margaritas. Pretty big space that doesn't get too crowded.

I had not long arrived in San Francisco with friends when we realised we did not know of a good local restaurant to go to for dinner. So, did we google it? No, we are old school, so we asked for a recommendation from our hotel reception. It was a good one. We were recommended to the Mexican restaurant, the Cadillac Bar and Grill, Market Square, 44 9th St, San Francisco, California, USA. We arrived a bit early for dinner so atarted the evening with margaritas for the ladies and beers for the guys. We had taco chips and salsa and ordered guacamole too. Lovely! Access to the restaurant is easy for those with disabilities, although some of the tables may be too close together to get a wheelchair past. The restrooms were clean and the service was good, although the waiter did pressure us to order dinner earlier than we wanted to. We resisted the pressure. The restaurant filled up quickly so we decided to eat there and were pleased that we did. I had a vegetarian burrito. My husband had a combination platter while our friends shared a sea food sharing platter. The meal was delicious and very filling. Only my husband made it to desert for a chocolate brownie. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of the Cadillac Bar and Grill which included music minstrels. I recommend it and will certainly be back. The History The San Francisco Cadillac Bar Restaurant is a legendary establishment. Its beginnings can be traced back to the original Mexican Cadillac Bar which opened in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico in 1926. Back in the early 80's, several partners decided to bring this concept to San Francisco where they went to work and converted a warehouse into a restaurant in the South of Market neighborhood. When they opened the doors in 1982, the partners made sure the restaurant had an authentic Mexican look including many features from the original Cadillac Bar such as the red painted ceilings, the high back bar, white linens on tables, and waiters and bartenders in white coats and bow ties. All these special touches were meant to make you feel like you were south of the border. The partners ensured that the menu was authentic and house margaritas were always hand shaken. San Franciscans took notice and voted the Cadillac the best Mexican food restaurant in the city for many years. Unfortunately, in 1999 the restaurant was forced to close due to the expansion of the Moscone Convention Center. However, in 2012, one of the original founding partners decided to revive the Cadillac Bar and Grill in San Francisco with the goal of recreating that authentic Mexican restaurant with the same feel and look of its famous predecessor. We were there for a quick dinner before Hamilton. Interestingly we picked the restaurant more for it's location. Turned out it was very good and started us out on a positive note for the evening. We had a great waiter who was funny and attentive. Whenever he was in the room waiting on other tables he always looked at us to see if we needed anything. We had the chips and salsa to start with. The chips were great and the salsa was the smoky flavor which we always like. I had the puffy carne asada tacos which were very good. My wife had the puffy baja tacos which were also very good. We both enjoyed the "Puffy" version of tacos. Different than anything we had before. We shared 3 top shelf margaritas which were also very good. To net it out, we will go back, whether going to a play at the Orpheum or not. It was a very good meal and service and reasonably priced.

I thought I was at Dennys and stopped eating there 30 years ago and was having flash backs at Cadillac Bar & Grill. They conceal their Margarita Menu 🍹including price and they don't use Margarita Glasses but instead 7-11 Super Size 16 ounce plastic cup and mostly fill it with Margarita Mix and cheap tequila. Different prices and they upsale $26.00 dollar Margaritas and it was mostly syrup. Other guest complained there Margaritas 🍹 were $60.00 each and the owner confronts and intimidated us to pay. If this happens to you don't challenge him but call your bank to dispute bill and they will honor that when restaurant deceptively is engaging fraud. GOOD LUCK AMIGOSVAND AMIGAS!!!!

This place is an old SF classic. The staff are wonderful, the food was good and the only disappointment was the signature Cadillac Margarita. For $15, it was small and watered down. Too bad, it is a beautiful place too!

Came here before going to the Orpheum. Service was prompt and attentive. Some food ok; some above average; some meh.

Okay, for people who've read my reviews before, you know I always state that "everyone's experience will be different", and when I saw some of the reviews here, I was a little shocked to see a 4 rating, but like I said....so onto my review. This place was awesome, and I have to say this is the first restaurant in san Francisco that I will put my stamp on as a "must place to go". and you know I'm not saying that lightly, nor am I still buzzed from the insane Cadillac margaritas (2!) I drank. Yes, the marg's were awesome. Two, the food was really impressive, delicious, served hot and delicious. I had the skirt steak fajitas and they were incredibly yummy, my wife had the lobster and prawns enchiladas, and they were great! even my daughter loved her chicken taco. If you want to throw a 'knock' at this place for charging for chips and salsa, so be it, $3 you can save. And being a big time Mexican food lover, I could have thought "what the heck?" but first time here so just going with the flow. Their salsa is good, not the best in the world, but really good, the quac was delicious, but for the entree's, charging me for chips is not a game changer, I will be coming here again. Also, our servers were great, Antonio and Guillermo, they greeted us, brought water quickly, were very friendly (which read my other review about our other restaurant we ate at, they could learn something) and just made the dining experience that more pleasant. So there it is, what we ate was awesome, the service was excellent, the drinks great, and the food was fantastic. That's my 2 cents on this place, go, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I had forgotten this is a Mexican food place. Good time and nice service. Nothing special but good food. The drinks are great.

went for drinks with another 'older friend' to see how the young IT people live in San Francisco downtown in the hip bar

Great ambience and great food and service. The best Mexican food restaurant in San Francisco. I will return for sure.

Me and my boyfriend met some friends here for dinner and drinks..... The atmosphere was perfect and the food was excellent and drinks were fantastic as well.... Our waiter was very good and was constantly checking up on us!! Would highly reccomend it!

We found this restaurant by chance, and it was so good we visited it twice. Pleasant staff and good food. The fajitas are particularly good. And the cocktails are great.

Food was ready very quickly. The food was ok but nothing special. Flavors are fairly plain. The positives are the availability of the screens around the bar especially on a match day

I've only been in this location once, for an after-work get together with a bunch of friends. We had fun, but had issues with being overcharged by a cocky bartender while at the bar waiting for everyone to arrive. The manager corrected the mistakes. And, frankly, my chicken fajitas were decent, but not great. Others seemed to like their food, so perhaps I just picked wrong. The puffy tacos were popular so I'll try that next time. Still, it's a big, fun place to hang out with people you enjoy, and I'd go again. Just, keep an eye on your tab, especially if you're supposed to be getting happy hour prices, because you might not be.

Nice restaurant facility. On Winter Holiday, went in for a family dinner. The fajitas were average at best. We ordered half shrimp/half steak, that meant 6 mediocre shrimp. My daughter ordered a veg buritto-average at best. Everything ridiculously over priced and no better than a chain Mexican.

A work colleague and I ate here recently while in town on business. We both ordered a beer and the carne asada puffy tacos with chips & salsa. Very good! We were both very happy, we cleaned our plates. The place was also pretty popular too as there was not a lot of tables available when we arrived but we were still able to be seated promptly. I would definitely eat here again if I'm ever in the area again.

We were here for a vendor trying to sell us some stuff, so lots of drinks and appetizers. It was all very good. The setting was quite nice, staff were quick to refill everything. Flavor was top-notch!

I came here for a drink with some colleagues and thought it was a nice place. They seem to have a nice menu and the food smelled great but I did not eat here. This place is pretty large so it can accommodate large groups.

I've always wanted to try puffy tacos after seeing them on the Food Network and this place did not disappoint! I have tried both the lobster and carne asado puffy tacos during lunch and they were both great. They come served with rice and beans so the meal is very filling. Super fresh and tasty and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. I would give this place a try!

We visited Cadillac Bar & Grill for dinner before a recent performance of Hamilton at the nearby Orpheum Theater. There aren't a lot of quick dining options near the theater, but the Cadillac Bar & Grill is quite close and offers quick, friendly service. We both had margaritas the puffy tacos, fish and pork, are were very happy with our choices. I would definitely come here again for a meal or happy hour when in the Civic Center area.

We came in and shared the sampler appetizer and sampler puff Taco plates. This was a great way to get a little of everything. Since these dishes were the most common and served to the masses, they played it safe with these, so the food was good, but nothing spectacular - with two exceptions. The Puff Taco, I didn't like the puff shell. I would give it a pass and go for other items on the menu. The Queso in the appetizer plate was very good and worthy of special mention. This restaurant has a lot of space, but it is also very noisy as they haven't used sound deadening materials. So overall, okay if you happen to be in the are, but nothing for a special trip.

Quick summary: fantastic food in generous positions. The steak fajitas are a must. Very convenient to the Orpheum Theater (not a great neighborhood). Ambiance and service are lacking. Have been here a couple of times and food is always fantastic. Service is hit or miss. Most recently came with a big party before seeing a show at the nearby Orpheum Theater. We chose to do some individual meals and some of their sharing platters and the waiter didn't inspire confidence that our orders would be correct as he repeatedly asked for clarification. However, everything came out correctly and delicious, but very fast. We planned plenty of time so it felt like they were just trying to rush us and turn the table, even though this place is massive. Because the food came so fast, we wanted to order one more round of drinks and a couple of people wanted coffee. All of a sudden, our waiter was MIA and when he did come around, he informed us that they don't do coffee or espresso, even though there was an espresso machine visible from our table. No explanation of it not being in working order, just a push for those wanting coffee to have more alcohol, which is totally missing the point. We ended up getting one last pitcher of margaritas that wasn't very good so no one really drank them. We got the check and left on this down note. I may be back to get the steak fajitas to go, but am unlikely to have seated dinner here again.

Our party of 10 came for a late dinner. We were serviced very pleasantly and promptly. Our pitchers of margaritas were tasty, if a bit light on the booze. The portions were ample and presented well. But the Mexican aspect of the cuisine was almost entirely missing. The food LOOKED Mexican...but that's about it.

Overall the visit was good. Instant service and personal attention. Food and drink selection was good. Food tasted good (not amazing but satisfying) large serves, reasonably priced for the size of plate. Drinks weren't cheap however I ordered blind so I probably wasn't given the house spirits. Staff dealt with a difficult customer calmly and respectfully. Would recommend for a quiet night during the week

Attentive service. Cold beer Good food. The “puffy tacos” were great; I mixed a carne asada and a carnitas. Cleaned my plate. Clean restaurant too.

I recently visited Cadillac to taste their food & drinks prior to booking their private event room. The owner Michael and event coordinator Melanie where super helpful in suggesting the best party to be had! And that we did! Everything was spot on! drinks, food and the birthday cake they make in house, tres leches!!! Per their suggestion on large parties, we went with the Cadillac Platter: mesquite grilled Steak fajitas and pollo asada, carnitas, rice, beans, tortillas, guacamole, Pico de Gallo. The meat was super moist and perfectly seasoned. And the Vegetarian Platter: chile rellenos, grilled vegetables, cilantro rice, black beans. If your looking for quiet party, this is not the place for you, but what party is a quiet one? Thank You Cadillac for a memorable evening! You'll be seeing me back again!

Found this little gem looking for a place close to the Orpheum SF. Made reservations and arrived on time where we were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy but the service was timely and really good. Food came out very fast and very fresh. I had the burrito and my companion had the puffy tacos, both were excellent. Overall experience was top notch, we'll definitely be back.
Good selection but underwhelming
Went with a party of six and enjoyed a family platter of soft tacos and the assortment of meats" the portion was large but food was not tasty or nicely presented. What is also very disappointing is the last of alcohol in their margaritas.
