Nice Turkish food

By SerendipityIndia |

Discovered this place after a bleak recommendation from a friend who was comparing an Ethiopian and Turkish cuisine. The place was very nice with great service and a warm cozy feeling. The dishes had nice portions with an attractive price. The food was quite authentic, especially the platter.

Nice Experience

By mcsdds |

My husband and I stopped in while vacationing in Atlanta. We ordered the small Maza Platter for an appetizer, which included an assortment of items. The Eggplant, Greek potatoes, and hummus (3 items on the platter), were out of this world! Plenty for 2 people to share! For our entrees we ordered the Agora Greek Salads with chicken. The chicken was deliciously seasoned, and once again the serving was large. Save room for dessert as the Rice Pudding is a real treat! Our waiter was extremely pleasant and service was prompt! An enjoyable experience.

Delicious!

By Chellebelle99 |

My husband and I ordered the lamb gyro and chicken shish kabob and both were delicious!! Before dinner we were served a small plate of hummus and four other dips with warm pita bread. It was a great way to start off our meal! At the end they brought us a small sampling of desserts...a great way to end our meal! Would definitely recommend this place.

Great food

By spaintravelerAtlanta |

I love this restaurant. Food is always good, as is the service. Start off with the pita bread that comes to the table like a balloon and deflates as it cools...it's fun to watch....and eat! Next try the appetizer platter so you can get a taste of the different appetizers they offer. Great stuffed grave leaves. My favorite dish is the chicken skewer platter which comes with a healthy amount of chicken, rice and a Greek salad. You won't leave there hungry. I love that they bring out rice pudding at the end....so delicious!

Good Greek / Turkish

By Joel H |

We were looking for a olace to dine before going to the Atlanta Symphony on Saturday nights, and found this resturant online! We wanted to eat healthy Mediterranean Food and were not disappointed. Three of us shared the Mixed Maza Platter a Combination plate of humus, eggplant salad, babaganush, ezme, kisir, and piyaz. They also bring out this giant peice of Bread something like Nan and it is wonderful! We split on entree between the three of us and we were full!

So Disappointing

By 1073BB |

I really liked the food here when the restaurant was a mere hole in the wall down the street from its present location—you know, the kind of place with a glass-fronted, soft-drink-filled fridge among the tables and plastic cutlery and thin napkins out of a dispenser. It was a real anomaly in the heart of the high-flying, expense-account Buckhead neighborhood. I looked forward to its reopening in larger quarters but the renovation took forever and my husband and I did not check back until a few days ago. We were sorely disappointed. At 11:45 a.m. the parking lot—good sized in this area of expensive real estate—had plenty of empty, and free, spaces. When we walked in several people were milling around the maître d’ stand, no hostess in sight, and we weren’t sure if we should order there, wait to be seated…what? Finally we asked the person at the desk and he motioned us to go on in and find our own seat. There was nothing particularly wrong with the food, it just wasn’t as memorable as in the past: My lamb shish kebab ($14.25), a shade on the tough side, was serviceable (damned with faint praise, huh?), although I must say that the romaine in the accompanying salad was some of the crispest I’ve ever encountered. A moist type of rice also was included. His gyro platter ($11.45) was “okay.” Maybe I should stick to the tried-and-true appetizers such as tabbouleh, hummus, and the like. After we asked for the check, our waitress brought us small servings of complimentary rice pudding topped with a generous sprinkling of cinnamon. It was an unexpected and thoughtful gesture, and a welcome one—it’s fun and virtually guilt-free to enjoy a couple of bites of dessert, and despite the fact I don’t usually care for rice pudding OR cinnamon, I gobbled it down. But the presentation—in plastic cups, with plastic forks—just added to the sense of schizophrenia already at play. (Also, I did wonder if those who ordered dessert were told of the possibility of a free one that they might like just as much.) We ordered baba ganoush (my all-time favorite) to go and had it that evening. Meh. The best, in my opinion, is still from Mediterranean Café near Decatur. Perhaps it is the atmosphere…or lack of it. The original location was what it was and you went there expecting that. Here, although someone has made a stab at décor with Mediterranean-scene wall murals and turquoise-accented furniture, the cavernous room seems stark, cold, and lonely—again, the word “serviceable” comes to mind—even when it begins filling up with people. Maybe it is due to the dark, nondescript wood furniture and bare table tops. It’s more like dining in the food court of a depressing mall that's about to go out of business than in a full service restaurant. The dining area is separate from a long bar and the reception desk. By the time we left, a lot of folks were in line to order take-out. So we may be in the minority when it comes to our vote on the food.

So good

This is amazing turkish cuisine. Best outside of Istanbul! Ali is always a gracious host and welcomes with warm greetings. They even have ice cold Efes ! Will definitely be back ..

Great Mediterranean Food!

By Karen P |

My daughter and I ate here after getting our hair done in Buckhead. We had the gyro sandwiches (I had the chicken and Sarah had the lamb) delicious but a bit salty!

Good Wine, Great Food, Relaxing Ambience

By veggiegirl60 |

We ate at the cafe Agora for dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't crowded. Our server was friendly. We ordered a house red, and it was delicious. My husband got the special - Lamb Shank, and my daughter and I split a salad and Turkish Moussaka. Plenty to eat, and very tasty. Reasonable prices.

Amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

We were in the mood for Greek food & this place came up on my search. I don’t know the difference between Greek & Turkish food, but I do know everything we ate for our lunch was absolutely delicious! I woke up this morning looking to see what time they open so we can go back for lunch. When we were there yesterday, the weather was lovely so we dined on the covered patio. Daniel was our very kind and patient server, explaining menu items and making recommendations. My husband & I started with a (small) Meza Platter which included 9 of the appetizers listed in the menu. Served with a basket of warm, soft pita bread, it was a perfect sampler & we used the bread to sop up every drop of each bit of food. It was served in a platter with 8 divisions to keep most everything separate. I was amazed with the carrot salad. It was creamy & reminded me of pimento cheese. The “small” size was so generous, it could’ve been our main meal. Not bad for $9.41 + tax. But we didn’t stop there. I had a small Greek salad ($4.00) & my dear husband had a steaming bowl of Mercimek Corbasi - red lentil soup ($6.00) which was so delicious I’ve already searched recipes online to try & make it at home. We highly recommend this very lovely and reasonably priced restaurant. P. S. At the conclusion of our meal, Daniel asked if this was our first visit & when we said, “Yes”, he brought out a complimentary dessert sampler of 2 slices of Baclava and 2 small cups of rice pudding. The perfect end to a perfect lunch!

Great experience

The food was good and worth the trip. This was my second time, glad I tried it again as it was definitely better than the first.

Mediterranean Food That is Delicious

By Jill S |

Cafe Agora is a simple restaurant serving Mediterranean food. The mezze platter is filled with delicious salads with which to begin your meal. The main courses are prepared in this style and are also good. At dinner you are ser4ved at the table. At lunch you choose your meal at the counter and it is served to you at the table.

Find another restaurant!!

By AstridIVa |

Food is ok, service is appalling. The servers will lie to you, wave you off, insult your intelligence, ignore your needs and take the liberty of stealing your money. You are better off going somewhere else. Our party ordered calamari which came with cold marinara sauce, when the menu clearly says garlic sauce. When we asked the first server for the garlic sauce, he said; "that was it." Completely taken back; We asked him again, if that was garlic sauce? Waiter proceeded to say that was their garlic sauce. We asked a second server what kind of sauce it was, she told us it was tomato sauce and was thrown off when we told her what her co-worker had advised us. We then asked if they were out of garlic sauce, to which she quickly agreed that their was no garlic sauce. We asked for lemon, and then the wait began. Third server passes by, we asked for lemon. Still no lemon. Fourth server passes by, asked for lemon yet again and we eventually got "lime." Really?! Our food finally comes out with our second server and a reluctant apology for the unwanted lime vs not lemon. We gratified her for noticing and she abruptly answered back with; "as you can look around, we're busy." Days letter, we see that someone felt the need to add a $5 tip to both bills. When a three way call between the bank, Cafe Agora and myself was placed to dispute the charge; the owner hung up on us without saying a word for the act. Truth be told that was completely unnecessary. The owner was addressed. Apparently, this is acceptable in his business. Any smart and respectable person would seek business elsewhere, especially when you are paying for a service. Don't waste your time and money. Their are several similar restaurants in the area that offer better food and service; plus they won't try to steal from you.

Best lamb gyro ever!

By ARbased |

We went on thanksgiving, and staff was great. Gyro is a must- some of the best lamb we have ever had! I had the sampler of sides, and everything was great. We would definitely be back if we had more time in Atlanta! Portions are large and prices are very reasonable. We are until we were absolutely stuffed!

Decent lunch

By Mela R |

The ambiance is nice and I liked the patio. This place isn't mind glowingly good but it is good. I had the lamb salad and I enjoyed it. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here, I honestly don't think I'd even think about it unless I drove past it. So there's that...

Great Lunch at Agora

By AKK2050 |

One of the best Turkish restaurant in Atlanta. We always go to this place for delicious Turkish food and friendly service from the Associates. The owner is very friendly and always extends so much attention to our family. Our favorite is Lamb & Beef Gyro and Chicken Shish Kebabs and my wife's favorite Falafel sandwich. We highly recommend this place for a great Middle eastern and Turkish food adventure.

Keep Going Back - Never Disappoints

By Karen R |

When visiting Atlanta I always try to go to some great places to eat that are reasonably priced and this is a gem. The food is tasty and the service is always outstanding. It has a great outside patio as well. And at the end of the dinner a nice small serving of delicious rice pudding. However I always order a big one to go! Go and Enjoy!

Good fresh food!

The maza platter is amazing! Such good variety and everything is so fresh. Good service too even though we were just getting take out.

NEVER AGAIN

By Emily L |

A friend and I dined on the front patio, right in front of our cars in the parking lot. Maybe fifty feet from our table, in clear view. I asked for a go box for an untouched plate full of yogurt, which I filled at the table, and walked out. A seven dollar appetizer. We had eaten early,it was bright and sunny outside, and the place was not busy. I said goodbye to my dining companion in the parking lot--again, in clear view from our table-and realized I had left my go box on the table, and went back to get it. Hadn't been gone two minutes, There was a manager and our waiter (who had been tipped nicely ) at the front counter, and I asked if I could get my go box, we just walked out and forgot it. "It's in the garbage," It is? "Yeah, we already threw it away." REALLY? REALLY? Not -- Oh, we'll get you another, no problem. The waiter could have seen us from the patio and called out to us. The manager SHOULD have gotten his back off the counter he was leaning on, he never even uncrossed his arms while we were speaking. He was almost snide, smiling at me the whole time. Tall man with gray hair. It was not just the obvious desire to be unhelpful, it was also the "too bad for you attitude." THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO PLEASE CUSTOMERS AND TRAIN WAIT STAFF. They will never see my face again.

New location but same wonderful staff and food

By Sharon Z |

We always enjoyed the food and family atmosphere at this restaurant, even when it was much tinier. The new place is spacious with some parking. We had an extended family with young children and they were very helpful in getting us the food quickly so the kids didn't have a melt down waiting to eat. We had an excellent Turkish cabernet sauvignon, mezza platter, and various gyro plates, and everything was wonderful. The staff truly dotes on the little ones. Desserts of rice pudding and baklava made for a sweet finale.

Excellent food, friendly service!

By SCarolina |

We visited this restaurant after reading the reviews here and boy were we glad we did. The food is excellent. Truly authentic, delicious, and home-made Turkish food. The restaurant is tiny, but understandably so as to keep the rent low in this very desirable area of Atlanta (Buckhead). There might be a short wait to be seated but it's so worth it. We will definitely be visiting back soon!

Food quality really gone down hill

By Medblond |

We lived in the neighborhood in the past few years, have been going here periodically and have been noticing that the food quality here has been steadily been going downhill. We love Greek food and the ambience here has never been anything to write home about but the food was generally ok. Our last visit this past month means we'll go no more. The food was really tasteless--babaganoush, hummus, gyros, salad--and it's not just an isolated bad day. Too bad.

Christmas Eve dinner

By marlaine2018 |

We stopped here for dinner and to take leftovers home (living in rural Alabama we don't get food like this). We started with Mixed Maza Platter and Falafel and a bottle of Cab. Then going to Two orders of Chicken Shish Kebabs and Fried Eggplant, I had the Eggplant heated. My Mom made something just like that and I always heated it for myself. Our server, Vinny, was great he finished us off with Walnut Baklava and Rice Pudding. We also had a lot to take home. We will be back on our next trip to Atlanta.

Excellent Mediterranean food

The quality of the food and service is excellent. The grilled meat is juicy and the salads are fresh. The ambience is great. Overall a pleasant experience.

Great locally run place in a sea of corporate stuff

By Pisco08 |

Fantastic med food. Great takeout food, very reasonable prices. Happy to see a good place off the beaten path. Traveling for work, hard to find a place that doesn't feel corporate.

Delicious and a Good Value

By Marc R |

We were in the neighborhood around lunch time and remembered a nice visit to Café Agora in December 2010. This visit was just as good, if not better. As we were really hungry, we started with some humus, baba ghanoush, and little pita squares. This was very appetizing and seasoned nicely. For our entrees, we ordered the falafel and kofte kebab plates. The falafel plate came with humus, tahini, pita points and a tasty house salad that had a lite, flavorful dressing. The falafel balls were big and tasty with a unique flavor and texture. The outside of the falafels were very crispy, and the insides very soft. There was a subtle sweetness that we learned was green bell pepper. This was a unique take (for us) on the falafel which didn’t stray far from our experience, but delivered something special and delicious. The kofte was also delicious. The lamb wasn’t gamy and the seasonings and grilling were perfect. The kofte came with pita strips, wild basmati rice, tzatziki sauce, and the same salad as the falafel plate. Although both meals were very filling, but the owner somehow found a way to ply us with free samples of their homemade Turkish rice pudding and honey soaked Turkish Lady Fingers. If we weren’t going to be out and about for a while, we would have bought some desserts to take home. Café Agora is a simple place with friendly service. Despite not having many shops around it, it was busy with diners inside and outside. We enjoyed ourselves at Café Agora and look to return sooner, perhaps with friends.

Delicious food

By panpanda |

My spouse and I enjoyed the large, shady porch for a relaxing Sunday lunch. My salad was topped with nicely spiced grilled chicken and shredded cheese. The two containers of different dressings went well together, a vinaigrette and a tzizki sauce. The spouse liked the salad with gyro meat. Pleasant service.

Best Gyro in the USA!

By Fergie51 |

I’m a gyro freak, one of my absolute favorite foods! I have it delivered and it’s perfect. I actually order an extra pita and sauce because there is so much meat I easily get a second meal out of it. I travel frequently and had the best gyro ever in Amsterdam, Argos easily compares to the one I had! Order and enjoy!

Authentic Greek and Turkish Food

By Laurentcroissant |

My wife and I found this restaurant by accident but immediately fell in love with the place. The restaurant is very comfortable and inviting with nice simple decor. The food and service were outstanding.

Love it

By RuthRasmijn |

We love greek food so we went on internet to search for a restaurant. When we reach at the restaurant we were a little hesitant if we should go there or not, because it was this tiny restaurant. I am glad we went there. The propietary was very hospitable and friendly. My husband had lamb gyro and I had chicken kebab it was all very good. As appetizer we had this sample dish of dips.... heavenly. The kids had some chicken and rice that was very good. We had a good wine. The dessert was to die for. We got the rice pudding on the house and something else that I don't know the name but it was very good. I saw that they are opening a bigger and nice place in the same neighborhood. I hope they stay with the same concept of serving and the food continuous to be good. Thank you for being so nice to us.

My favorite is...

By DueBaci |

The lamb kabob plate. I’ve been here many times. We’ve never had a bad meal. So Delicious ! Great service as well.

authentic Mediterranean!!

By sainbasha |

We visited Agora for dinner and were warmly greeted by the owner at the entrance. we were a large company of around 12 persons so we were seated in the room at the back, which was all to ourselves. There was a large variety of items on the menu. The mixed maza platter and and eggplant salad were great for starters. in the main menue, iskandar kebab, adana kebab, chicken sheesh kebab and kuzu were great. To finish we were served with traditional turkish rice pudding on the house. Overall good Mediterranean food, plus easy on the pocket also. A must visit while in Atlanta.

Ok place

Went here yesterday and I’m not disappointed. I would come back. Plenty of parking g and also offer valet parking. Good location.

Good food, utterly BIZARRE service

By Jack B |

The food here is quite good, if a bit expensive. But the service - what the heck??? Our first time here, a couple months ago, we ordered the maza platter, which is an appetizer of several different spreads - hummus, haydari, havuc ezme, etc. - and the waitress brought it out with a little basket full of pita bread squares. So on our second trip, when we ordered the same platter and it came out without the pita bread, I asked our waiter for it. Cue his return with a basket with maybe 6 little squares in the bottom, and a joint lecture from the waiter and the owner about how this platter isn't meant to be eaten with pita bread, and that it would ruin our appetite for our entrees. Okay...? I wouldn't have asked had it not been automatically brought with the platter on our first visit. Then when we were attempting to eat our hummus with forks, the owner swung by again to tell us we were taking "little baby" bites and needed to take a "real" bite. What??? When our entrees arrived, our waiter commented again, "See, this is why you needed your appetites." But the topper actually happened to a couple at a nearby table. They had apparently made the same mistake we had in asking for pita bread, and were getting the same lecture, when owner literally picked up the husband's fork, scooped up some dip, and FED IT TO HIM LIKE A BABY. My spouse and I were looking at each other like O.O???? Honestly, had we not had a relatively normal meal here on our first visit, I would think this place was supposed to be one of those "wacky service" joints like Ed Debevic's. I think I'll be searching for another decent Mediterranean place before I come back here to pay $42 before tip for two gyro platters and an appetizer, and risk extremely strange service in the process.

Like being in the middle East

By fraidellf2015 |

If you like middle Eastern food, this is your spot. Everything was the right temperature, and properly made. We love this type of food and found the staff friendly and accommodating. It was a beautiful night, so we ate outside on the porch. Even though the parking lot was on a hill, a little tricky, all else was good.

Great food and service

By RaceAMA |

This Greek food restaurant is the bomb. Clean, parking at location, in or out dining, fantastic food and friendly service. They even have a full bar (and long seating bar)

Delish!

By Debbie O |

We were not too adventurous with cuisine on our first visit, but everything we had was delicious! Hummus and lamb ggyro were great!

Great Food and Amazing Owner

By AKK2050 |

We were a family of four and being a world traveler and an international 5 star hotelier my family suggested that I try this wonderful restaurant today as they like it very much and dine often here. Indeed, it was a wonderful experience with absolutely warm and friendly service from the owner who recognized my family and was absolutely right in assuming that I had visited them first time. He offered me complimentary dips to try and then at the end of the main course offered the traditional Turkish rice pudding and baklava. The food was absolutely Turkish and tasted just great. Now why would I not recommend this restaurant to family and friends when the food is just amazing and the service is world class. Good job and Thank you for a great dining experience

Greek Food with a WOW factor

By Karen R |

Cafe off the beaten path but close to the Buckhead action. Service is awesome. Very fast. Great outside area and heated during the winter. Good wine list. The food is excellent and makes you keep coming back. Enjoy!

Authentic, Well Prepared Greek/Turkish food!

Authentic well prepared food! Have made multiple visits with friends and have not encountered any poor offerings. Friendly professional service. Willng to accomidate special requests.

Best Hummus and Gyros

By GaOnMyMind |

I went there for my birthday and I was delighted. The service was good, the food was great as well. We ordered the hummus as a starter. It was fantastic. Pita bread was okay but not authentic....they can do better. I then had the lamb Gyro with a side of Greek salad. The dressing was excellent. The lamb was seasoned perfectly and the portions are huge ! I left without being able to get a dessert but that was okay too ! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who enjoys Greek food.

Gross Food and Bad Service

By jacob m |

Its is basic! The food is gross and the service is terrible. Beware of getting ripped off. I took some guests there and the owner took advantage of the situation and jacked up the prices on my bill. The food was gross as it seemed as though some of the meat had gone bad. Stay away from this place!

Gyro love fest

By ToddT |

Best gyro in Atlanta! My wife and I stopped by after a walk in Buckhead and are hooked. We now go twice a week

Great dinner, great price

By nickpvb |

We attended a fun Atlanta Braves game, but passed on the traditional ballpark frank and beer. We really wanted a meal. After googling "gyro" up came Cafe Agora only eight miles away, a 20 minute GPS guided drive. Quickly seated, beverages and dinner ordered, soon we were dining on delicious gyros plates that came with a very nice salad and rice pudding treat. Since it was late, we passed on desert and coffee, but I know it would be nice. Each of us were glad we passed on Stadium food and look forward to visiting again soon.

Great dinner!

By Ferdinand del Toro |

Stopped in for dinner. One of our group was not excited. He didn't want Greek food. He loved it as much as I did. Not expensive, especially for the neighborhood. Great food, pretty good service. Wonderful outdoor seating.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY SELF RESPECT!!!!

By Quel0511 |

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY SELF RESPECT!!!! First of all, the first time I came here with my boyfriend it was great, the food was great, and the owner was friendly and came to our table and brought us complimentary dessert. This time however, I came with my dad and boyfriend. My boyfriend ordered a Vodka soda and they brought out a Vodka tonic and when he told them very politely the waitress stated that the bartender put soda in the drink which was definitely a LIE. I found this to be extremely rude and I am appalled that the bartender would send the drink back and not even attempt to correct the order. The worst part of my experience tonight was when I went up to the counter to get change for a $20 so I could get change to tip the valet. The owner, who had been so nice to me the last time I had come, rudely said "what do you think this is, bank of america"? I thought he was being sarcastic at first even though I found it offensive. He then proceeded to hand me two $10 dollar bills when I clearly needed change to tip. He then threw the singles on the counter and appeared extremely annoyed. We had asked the valet guys for change and they did not have any. I must add that the first time we ate here our waitress told us that none of the staff lasts for more than 2 months because the owner is so incredibly abusive to his employees. There are plenty of great mediterranean/greek restaurants in the buckhead area, do not waste your time at this rude establishment.

Remarkable Middle Eastern

By Mylonpruett |

Order: Beef and lamb gyro plate Price: $13 Pros: Really good portion size, juicy tender meat, really friendly owner Cons: Only street parking Thoughts: We on our way through Atlanta and wanted to get some food without endorsing any fast food restaurants (because just no) and after some quick looking we found Agora. My wife and I are both pretty big greek food fans so we decided to give it a shot. We had to drive around just a bit to find parking as there isn’t a lot to park in and it’s pretty busy around there. That being said, it really wasn’t too bad. The shop itself is very small and only has a few tables so its is definitely more of a grab and go place, and if you’re not doing that definitely eat quickly and be prepared to bump a few elbows. The food itself was one point, a delicious tender combination of beef and lamb was the center of the plate, along with a side of rice and beans. They also didn’t skimp on the meat, just one plate was enough to cover both of us for lunch, and at 13 bucks for two meals; you really can’t beat that. Agora was definitely more of a grab and go lunch plate, but way better than anything else you could get if you went to a fast food place. If I was in the area often it would most certainly be one of my go to lunch spots.

Excellent service

By SwatiAJ |

The food here is to die for . I simply love their Baba ghanoush .. The owner is really nice . He gives personal attention to all the guests and treats them like guests at his home. The place has a very homely and warm feeling to it. I always come out of this place with a big smile on my face :D

Nice, Middle Eastern Dining Option

By Aref R |

Very reasonably priced. Good food selection. Their platters were very filling with good portion size. Atmosphere is decent. Parking could be better

Excellent and very friendly staff!

By Boss Lady |

We were visiting Atlanta and happen to see this Mediterranean restaurant. We went in and were immediately greeted and asked if we ever dined with them before. Of course, our response was "no" and we were offered a tasting of some chef's appetizer recommendations. The portions were extremely generous and fresh! Highly recommend.

Fabulous! Can't wait to cone back!

By AtlantaTwin |

This tiny place is bursting with flavor. Highly recommend it. The owner is clearly passionate about his customer's experience of his food. Super delicious spanikopita!

Simple and delicious

By Mary G |

This is a simple, inexpensive Middle Eastern restaurant with a charming outdoor terrace. It is located in the heart of Buckhead and is always crowded, but there's never a wait for a table. There is a nice bar inside as well as tables. My husband and I eat here frequently and we always order the delicious lentil soup and a Greek salad. The soup is made with red lentils and is very smooth and creamy with a pale yellow color. The salad is authentic and tangy with good dark green lettuce. There are many other items on the menu, but we just stick with what we like. They offer a complimentary dessert of rice pudding topped with cinnamon.

Food Good. Owner Rude.

By Sophie |

Liked the Food. I think the owner wanted to use our table. So he promptly took our silverware and plates. We were rushed and felt unwelcomed. We will never return to this establishment.

Great food

By Christopher L |

I ate a great meal. I had the chicken and gyro plate. Great time hostess was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Mediterranean Fix

By RJRambler |

We had tried the Midtown location some time ago and decided to try this location on a Sunday evening. This is a larger location with complimentary valet parking. Although, we felt (around 8.30pm) the valet service wasn't really needed as we found very convenient parking in front of the restaurant. We sat in the outside Patio area. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. The food we ordered was hot and fresh. Although I would have preferred my Lamb Gyro to be a little tightly wrapped to be able to eat it like a 'sandwich' or a wrap. I had to eat the Gyro like an open sandwich. Next time, perhaps a platter instead of a Gyro may be in order. Definitely will be visiting again soon.

Delightful

By LynnSC8 |

The falafel at Cafe Agora is really excellent, as is everything we had here. The high quality of the ingredients and the pride in preparation were evident, even at reasonable prices. We tried the dark Turkish beer, which was extremely good. Our server, a helpful and thoughtful young lady from Thailand, really enhanced our great experience.

Merabah Cafe Agora'

By travelsafer |

I was looking for a late dinner with my girlfriend and we found this nice little restaurant. We were greeted by the friendly owner who is from Turkey. We started with 2 appetizers: I took a combination plate of hummus and pita squares and my girlfriend a Greek salad. Both were very good. We also ordered 2 entrees. I took a dish of lamb and beef kebab which came with a portion of tabbouli, rice and pita strips. The waiter brought us 2 complimentary baklava and a rice pudding. We left very happy. I recommend this restaurant. The owner told me that they will be relocating soon. I hope they will keep the same simple and friendly atmosphere and food quality.

I'e had better in a food court

Great outdoor patio, you can watch all the street car racing in Buckhead. The food is very mediocre but the service was good. Will not return...

Good Gyros and Rice Pudding

By Ward C |

Went on Black Friday. Surprisingly only three tables occupied. Gyro was stuffed with lamb and veggies. Meat seasoned well. Complementary rice pudding after the meal.

Amazing fresh food!

By Leducreb |

I LOVE this place! I eat here when I get the chance and have gotten carry out here as well. Really great fresh Mediterranean food at a good price! It's nice they have locations in Buckhead and Midtown now so if your trip takes you to either of those areas I'd strongly suggest stopping in for lunch!

Amazing Hidden Gem!

By RoadTripTiger |

Don't judge this book by it's cover. It's small and crowded, but the food is out of this world. It is autentic home made Turkish food (I'm allowed to crituque because my wife's family is Turkish). We sampled a little bit of everything and even took some home with us. The staff was super friendly even though we went during a packed lunch hour. They even gave my kids a small free sample of the desert. It's programed in my GPS for frequent return trips.

Great food. Great atmosphere and great owner. Al makes the great food, even better. What a character! We are in Atlanta A Lot and never miss a chance to eat here.

Looking for middle eastern

By McHalesNavy |

Looking for middle eastern food tonight and tried this place based on Trip Advisor’s reviews. We were pleased and recommend it. First, they take social distancing seriously and we felt safe the entire time. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Staff wore gloves and masks. Our server was attentive and friendly. He was working hard too. Appetizers were my favorite. Hummus is wonderful. Gyro meat great. Kofta was average in my opinion- not enough spices. Pita warmed just right. Lamb kabob good. See pics. Generous portion sizes. Family of four coast for dinner with tip $125. So it’s a little pricey. Parking is tight. My wife loved it so we’ll probably be back.

Excellent Food

By mmayhem |

This place is in the heart of Buckhead and is very convenient to park. I loved their patio but as it was chilly we ate inside. I have to say I wish I could have ate more, everything we tried was so so good! The prices are a little higher than expected but when you consider the huge portions of food you get, it is definitely worth it. My wife had a chicken gyro plate and I had the lamb and beef gyro plate and they were both outstanding. We also got the turkish potatoes. You can sample mostly Greek and Turskish food but I would recommend anyone come eat here as the food is superb and the owner and staff are very nice.

Glad We Tried It

By rag714 |

We drove past the original location of Cafe Agora for years but never stopped in. Last night we decided to give it a try in their new, more accessible location. We had the Turkish Moussaka and the Agora Mixed Grill and they both were excellent. The portion sizes were large (we both took home at least half of our meal) and the prices were quite reasonable. Surprisingly the wine list for such a casual cafe was relatively extensive and varied. I enjoyed a Turkish cabernet sauvignon that was very good (and only $8 a glass!). Al, the owner, was present and insisted on bringing us a small maza plate even though we had finished our meal, and before we could get out of the door he appeared with dessert samples. Thanks Al. We'll be back.

Great food; reasonably priced.

By Paula M |

We've eaten here several times and have really enjoyed it. The moussaka is the best I've ever had. And the lemon chicken soup is quite good. During the week, it is a great place to go if you want to visit with friends over dinner. We were here as well for a large group dinner. They handled it well with good service.

Always Great!

By Suzie C |

Cafe Agora has become our go-to for dinning-in and take-out. Either way it is always excellent and the service can't be beat! The lamb shish kabab dinner is my favorite and you can always ask for extra tzatziki sauce.

Hidden Gem--and quite a surprise--a bit of Bosphorus in Atlanta

By PLAfromMichigan |

Perhaps the last dining experience I expected walking through Atlanta was a Turkish cafe with actual Turkish food. Lo and behold, Cafe Agora appeared. "Agora" means market in greek, and although you might mistake the building for a vaguely Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant, this place is definitely a Turkish cafe. The Meze plaza (I think it is misspelled on the menu--but of course I don't really know the language well enough to say) is a good start. Try the Turkish chai (tea) served in a traditional vase-shaped glass. (This is not the sugary "chai" you get in coffee shops.) I would like to have stayed longer and tried dinner here as well.

Good portion - cordial service

By sandy l |

We like coming here because the service is good the food is good, and the space is casual but pretty. My husband and I actually ate here twice in a month. Both times the portions were quite good for the cost, however the quality of the potatoes (appetizer) was hit and miss. The first visit we ate an early dinner and everything was very fresh, and the second time, we stopped in for a very late dinner @ 10 p.m. My guess is the kitchen wanted to get rid of some stale potatoes made for an earlier event (there was a large party there) so they just reheated. That said, our kabobs and gyro meat were fine and tasty both times and the side salads were good. The only big drawbacks for this location (which is the "newer" one next door to Meehan's) is the parking lot is tight, and the wheelchair entrance (on side via the side porch) is constantly blocked by a table and chairs. We always have to impose on patrons just to enter which is annoying for them and for us. We aren't big drinkers but there is a full bar and it's somewhat separate from the dining area. Also, if you like dining outside, there are two patio areas. Enjoy!

Great Service, Outstanding Food!

By Brenda M |

We were staying in Buckhead and walked to this restaurant for a late lunch. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with explaining the dishes. My husband had the Agora Mixed Grill. I had the Lamb Shish Kebab. We also had Baba Ganoush as an appetizer. Everything was very good. However, we both liked the lamb the best. There was so much food that we took almost half of it back to the condo. We heated it up for the dinner the next night. It was just as good reheated.

CAFE AGORA ROCKS!

By HeathersWorld |

This cozy, family-owned restaurant in Buckhead is amazing. Superb food - the salad sampler provides a wonderful mix of Mediterranean tastes. I'm typically not a fan of baklava, but theirs is amazing...so much so that we bought another 4 to take home. The owner is ever present and full of personality. Highly recommend it for lunch or dinner.

Delicious hummus

By Carole B |

We went for lunch with my two girls (ages 16 and 9). It was expensive for us for a lunch meal (almost $60 with tip - no alcohol or dessert). The chicken pitas were fabulous as was the fresh hummus, which we all enjoyed.

AMAZING FOOD

By marissa c |

we love going to eat here. Their patio is amazing and the food is absolutely out of this world good. I would highly recommend going

Solid greek food

By Harold F |

Good greek food in buckhead. The Mezza platter (mixed appitizers) is wonderful, the main courses are average.

Fresh and hits the spot.

By Brandon D |

I have been to Café Agora a few times and each has been a good experience. The food is consistent and consistently good. The service is decently fast and efficient. Not a ton of parking but still have never had a problem parking. Food seemed authentic and was always fresh and quick.

Did what I wanted it to do

By martyfarty69 |

I visited Cafe Agora a couple of times while Staying at the St Regis hotel just down the street, I was visiting the area on business and while a couple of the nights I had business dinners at some great restaurants in the area, there were a couple of nights I just wanted something casual. I walked the 10 minutes or so into the Cafe and saw a fairly small, but authentic looking Greek / Turkish cafe that seems to be family run. I ordered the Lamb / Beef Kebab to go and took it back to my hotel room, it was so tasty, it was made within 10 minutes so I didn't have to wait too long, and for around $7 was incredible value, the ingredients were all fresh, the Pita was a good size and the meats were fresh and succulent. the only downside was it was quite messy to eat with all the sauce !! While I didn't sit down to eat, I did re-visit and order the exact same thing a couple of days later ( its a tough area for casual dining as its mainly restaurants here ) because I had a very formal business dinner inbetween and i'm a casual kind of guy !! My only complaint was my second visit the lady that served me was a little surly, but I can let that pass due to the quality of the food. Highly recommended if you like this type of food and don't want to break the bank

Cafe Agora is the real deal

By CanadianWannabe |

We ordered delivery from Cafe Agora to our suite at the Wingate in Buckhead, and the food was promptly delivered and delicious. Salads were large, baklava excellent, and spanikopita very tasty and light.

Pretty good food, reasonable prices, weak service

By Medblond |

The reviews of this place are pretty consistent: good food, mediocre service. We had the dolmas (excellent),babaganoush (ok too much yogurt), the hummus (excellent) and the fried cheese rolls--also good. We both had a kebab, Iskender and Adana--both pretty tasty although not excellent. Service was very slow although nice. They got our drinks wrong and then brought them pretty watered down. No apologies for the wrong order. The small free dessert was good and a nice touch. Not likely to go back with so many other better choices.

Outstanding Greek Food

By Loki2990 |

We live in the Garden Hills section of Buckhead and have the luxury of walking to many great dining locations. Café Agora is a nice evening stroll to a wonderful restaurant. They have a sound mix of lamb, chicken and beef kababs. Their gyro mix is delightful. CA’s starters are delicious, if you are hungry the Maza platter is a winner but don’t overlook the humus, grape leaves and spanakopita. I would give Café Agora 5 stars if their dining room was not so loud. You can barely talk when it is crowded. They do have a nice outside space. My daughter enjoys getting their take out. Nice service.

UMMM YUMMY!

By Zippy P |

Had our first experience with delivery from this place, so we ordered two platters to sample as much as possible. ERMAGERD IT WAS SOOO GOOD! Not a bad taste in the whole of it. Everything was fresh and so plentiful, we had two large meals (as in supper and lunch the next day) out of it all. Will have to actually go there to dine in next time. HIGHLY recommend it!

Best Greek in town

By Juish |

We absolutly loved the food. The service and atmosphere was great. We even got to meet the owner! We got a a ton a good for everyone to share and went great. Everyone was very happy. We will be back.

Amazing food and hospitality

By Roxanne B |

This is an amazing restaurant and experience. Owner is personable. Food is superb and you can't go wrong with any thing on menu.

Yum!

By Ernie and Dora H |

This edition of Excited about Eating takes us to the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta, to Café Agora, a Turkish restaurant that serves Turkic, Arabic, Persian, and Greek food. Agora means “gathering place” or “assembly” and was the center of life in a city. Since we're headed to Istanbul this fall, we decided to give Turkish food a try. We discovered dishes that we enjoyed, and others, not so much. The Agora Mixed Grill consisted of several kabobs: chicken, lamb, adana (minced lamb), Kofta (ground beef), and beef/lamb gyros. All the meats were tender and juicy, and very tasty. My favorite was the lamb kabob. My least favorites were the gyro meats. The salad was fresh and light. Every single forkful zinged with flavor. Dora here. I'd read great things about their Maza Platter appetizer. Hummus, Ezme (tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, onion, and walnuts), Eggplant Salad, Babaganush (another eggplant concoction), Piyaz (red beans, tomatoes, onion), Potato Salad, Fried Eggplant, Haydari (yogurt, walnuts, dill), Tabuli (parsley, tomato, cucumber), and Carrot Salad (made with yogurt). Phew! Is that it? :) Can you believe that's a small plate?? It's a whole meal! My faves were Ezme, Hummus, Haydari, Potato Salad, and Carrot Salad. They could've left off the three eggplant dishes, but that's just my personal preference. And they didn't blink when we asked for a second basket of that awesome bread. Delish! If you're looking for a sample of flavors, this is the dish to order. It's always nice when a complimentary treat comes out with the bill. We rate this restaurant 5 forks out of 5 for a family friendly restaurant serving outstanding food. ~Ernie & Dora Hiers

Excellent Greek/Turkish food

By Steve W |

This is a gem in Buckhead that serves up excellent Greek/Turkish food along with great service and an excellent patio. This has moved locations, albeit only a short distance from the old location and has evolved from a hole in the wall take out to a full blown restaurant. Very friendly Owner.

Cafe Agora review

By Nednrom2012 |

Cafe Agora is a tiny place in Buckhead with the best Turkish/mediterrenean food I've eaten in a long time. It is home cooking--Al, the owner a colorful, friendly guy runs the front of the house and his wife cooks. The meze platter is made up tasty salads. We ordered 4 different kebabs and the kebab meat was superb. The baklava is delicious. I would definitely visit this eatery if you like Mediterranean cooking

A new favorite

By Rebecca L |

We came here for lunch and both the food and service were great. It’s wonderful to find a quality Mediterranean restaurant in the mid-price range. We started with the Piyaz appetizer, which is served with pita bread. For the main course, we ordered the Turkish Moussaka and the Adana (ground lamb) Wrap. Both are served with a Greek Salad. We had so much food, we ended up taking some home with us.

Good

By suwdawg |

Was looking for some med food and happened on Cafe Agora. We had a chicken gyro, lentil bean soup, Turkish potatoes, hummus and Greek salad. The food was good however the service was lacking a little but picked up near the end. Might have just been a slow Sunday afternoon day. Would recommend you try if you enjoy med and Turkish food.

Almost Perfect

By michael p |

Let's get the negatives out of the way. Parking is not easy and the Spanakopita appetizer was way too doughy to be the "filo" dough they claim. Other than that everything was great. They proclaim "Authentic Meditreranean Cuisine" which incorporates Turkish and Greek. The result is taste bud pleasing. Loved the large portions of their Agora mixed grills, the salads, the hummus and the stuffed grape leaves. Also liked the fact that the owner came around to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I'll be back.

Authentic food and atmosphere

By Stacyod |

Food was wonderful! Homemade and authenticate. Atomosphere is not fancy. It is reminiscent of typical street side cafes found in europe and the middle east. We will be back.

Great food, charming place.

By Sharon Z |

Cute space, loved the chicken gyro, hubby liked the meat gyro. Pitas were super fresh as was the salad. Laid back place where at lunch we chatted with the other diners, and the charming owner insisted we sample his Turkish rice pudding, flavored with lemon and orange, really yummy, and his Baklava which was the best I have ever had at a restaurant (I usually make my own, this was better). I hope the new location doesn't lose that neighborhood small restaurant vibe.

My favorite mom and pop restaurant

By Sandra A |

Delicious Mediterranean food! Also love the owner Al. He's quite the character! Hummus, babaganoush, iskander, falafel and any of the gyro platters; you can't go wrong. Please don't skip dessert! Rice pudding (and I hate rice pudding, Café Agora is the only place I will eat it), baklava, lady fingers.

Great Mediterranean Food!

By edenl |

If you're looking for great Mediterranean, Greek and Turkish food, look no further! My only regret is that I wish that I could try more dishes at each visit! Everything is always so fresh - from the hummus and tabouli to the lamb and chicken gyros to the falafel to the most incredible desserts on the planet!!! Just can not say enough about the freshness and the perfect seasoning of all of the food you'll find at Cafe Agora! To make the experience truly perfect is Al and the rest of the staff, who provides impeccable service! Not to be missed! Go there once - hooked forever!

A Post Event Dinner with Friends

By RJRambler |

We were a group of total 8 people out for a dinner after attending an Event in Atlanta. Very helpful staff. Knowledgeable and patient. Our server answered our questions patiently and clearly. The ambiance is that of a mid-high cafe. Casual, cozy and comfy. Perhaps the tables could do with a change or spruce up, especially when joining tables to accommodate a large group. The food as we expected, was good. Between us, we ordered: Mixed Maza Platter Lamb Shish Kebab (I ordered this) Adana Kebab Falafel Sandwich Chicken Sandwich Everyone was happy with their orders. The lamb kebabs I had ordered were cooked just right. Combined with a fresh crunchy salad and the marinated (tomato based spicy (not pungent hot) paste) Pita bread, made this a nice meal. Washed down with a bottle of Red Rock merlot. All in all a good meal and nice evening out.

SO delicious !

By Linda R |

I have eaten here many times. A favorite is the maza platter. It is a combination of all their different appetizers except the spanakopita. One problem. I am usually a very giving person but, for this plate I don't want to share !

Not the way it used to be

By les d |

I know that the new location has been open a couple of years now but it was the first time that I've had a chance to get back there. When it was the little hole in the wall with the paper plates and plastic knives and forks it was my favorite mediterranean place, it was inexpensive and good and quirky. The new place with the large dining area and the patios just makes it seem like you are at some chain now. The authenticity has gone away. The food is good. But now everything is just piled onto a huge plate of rice and the prices have doubled. I miss Atlanta....

Amazing middle eastern food

By Ayushi Chandra |

We were introduced to Cafe Agora by one of our local friends who is a regular here. This was one of our few times trying Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and were quite thrilled, given how vegetarian friendly and similar to Indian food it was. We really liked their platters and their desserts - especially my husband really liked the Baklava.

Great food

By sandyvirk |

Ordered a mixed gyro, with lamb and chicken. The lamb was soft and juicy, with flavors melting in the mouth. Came with a salad on the side. The quantity was enough for 2 people. Definitely recommended. Will be back soon

Tasty Food!

By Susan W |

I ate here recently with a couple of friends and we were all pleased by the service and the quality of the food. I had the combination gyro platter and the meat was all very tender and tasty. It is served over a bed of rice (I thought Greeks ate more potatoes!) and although I would have preferred potatoes the rice was fine. I would return if in the area.

I want to come back!

By claoudycat |

My daughter and me were here for the 1st warm Sunday afternoon in March. So we were delighted to sit on their patio where we could actually hear each other. We had the "meat cigars" for an appetizer---oh so very good! We shared 2 main dishes--the best of which was the Agora Mixed grill---the chicken was perfect, the lamb slightly overcooked but all wonderfully tasty! Accompanied with large side of basmati rice. The Turkish Moussaka was good, but not great. Each came with "greek" side salad which was forgettable--good thing we didn't order it as an entree! Many of the diners were having kabobs of some sort. Can't wait to come back for gyros & the and the hummus plate! Our service person, Petar, was helpful and charming...making sure our orders were perfect.

Great Place

By flyboy1980 |

Went with some co-workers after work. Little place, great food, great atmosphere. Ran into the owner who told us (and showed us) their new location opening in Dec 2013. Love it!

Good lunch

By panpanda |

Almost gave Cafe Agora 4 stars since my Cafe Agora salad was fabulous and filling. However, my friend ordered a sandwich which was a meager portion and not enough food. You order your good at a counter when you enter and the staff brings your food out to you when it's ready. The hot tea is delicious and served in glass cups with sugar cubes. Free parking, which is great in this expensive part of town.

Disappointed

By wanderlustatlgirl |

Was in the neighborhood and wanted to some Turkish cuisine. Decide to stop in for Lunch..not to be busy which was good. Was seated promptly. The waiter came over took my order. Waited about 25 minutes for my food. A bit disappointed being that it was only 3 other tables with guest. Finally got my food. I order the chicken and rice plate. My chicken was hot but my rice was cold. Informed the waiter of this issue and brought out some more which was luke warm. I was so hungry that I ate the luke warm rice. The chicken was seasoned very well but I was so put off by the rice, the rest of the meal was overlooked I don't think I will visit again as my first impression wasn't a good one.

Great meal with a group

By ellrigg |

Our Bible study group was looking for a place to celebrate in Buckhead with 10 people. The owner ( I think, or manager) seated us in the back room. One of our group has been there a number of times and knew him. Everybody treated us well, and the food was all really good. I'd like to go back with just my husband and eat on the patio some night.

Fine foods, .... Services ??? what is services

By thanh b |

We come to this restaurant for our office lunch. The foods are fine, I love their grilled chicken, it is very tender and great (even with my toothache I was able to let it melted in my mouth ..... not exactly, but closed to). The restaurant is small but crowded for lunch. Hard to find parking around it unless you willing to pay for parking. The owner is great, he is entertaining, very friendly. I like him. The server taking our order and bring it out after a long wait and that about all. If you need water, you need to get it yourself on the counter, If you need clean table after eating, pick your plate up yourself and move it, the paper plate: put in the trash can yourself ...... Forget about asking for something, waitress is no where near to call. We gave her a nice tip but it is not worth it.

Good food at a decent price for Buckhead

By Mark F |

The place is nothing fancy, but a fun atmosphere with good dependable food. I had the gyro plate and must have not been eating it the right way because the owner came and showed me how to correctly hold the gyro, pretty funny.

Best Turkish Food In Town

By Conrad B |

It's a hole in the wall kind of place with about 30 seats - nothing fancy. A small bar and a couple of deli cases are all you see. Pretty much like what you'd find in Turkey (we've visited similar cafes in Istanbul and Izmir). If you want fancy decor go somewhere else, but if you want good Turkish food and friendly service this is the place to go.

Great Middle-eastern food from someone that lived there five years

By GADawgGa |

The restaurant is just off Peachtree Street, close to 10th Street. It is not impressive on the outside, but the food is excellent. I lived in the Middle East for five years and Europe for four. I love Middle Eastern, Turkish and Greek food. The hummus was quite good as well as other dishes.

Great Food, Personal Attention From The Host

By Peaceful H |

This is an excellent place for spending an evening. Food is Mediterranean, delicious and impeccable service. Food was fresh and tasty. The owner manages to come to the table and give you personal attention. I think that's the highlight of the dining. A must go to place. Will return here for sure.

Great casual dinner

By russ r |

Friendly and helpful staff. Food was tasty, especially the gyros. Would definitely recommend this place. The owner was noticed we had not ever been there before and was very gracious. The sample of rice pudding was good and the coconut cake looked really good but we were too full to try it.

Excellent gyros in the heart of Buckhead

By Fred B |

My wife and I have been searching for a restaurant that offered excellent Greek food in the Buckhead area. We turned to our trusty Tripadvisor guide and viola found Cafe Agora. This little cafe offers authentic Greek dishes complete with the young nephew from Istanbul, Turkey who is visting with his aunt. We were treated with a delicious gyro loaded with lamb and beef with lettuce and outstanding souvlaki. We will be back to enjoy this hole in the wall find.

Excellent food. Ugur our waiter was fabulous

By Phillips3675 |

We keep kosher so I eat Vegetarian when I go out. We asked Ugur for advice on fish and veggies. His choices were perfect. I live in Brooklyn, NY where there is a wide variety of excellent Mediterranean food. Cafe agora compares well to my favorites at home and the terrific service from Ugur made our day

Bad Experience

By ubutatechnology |

Food was bad and got ripped off in the prices. Never go there again. Nothing impressed me at the very least about the food, service or price. Extremely disappointed.

WOW!!! Great Greek Cuisine !!!

By Josephine A |

The food and service fantastic!! You must try the Gyro platter and Adana Kebab!! Emina our waitress was Fantastic. She is witty , and very good in making you feel at home. This restaurant is great for date night , for family dinners and even just for appetizers and wine!! Enjoy!!!

Amazing Mediterranean Food!

By Matt D |

My wife and I visited this restaurant while visiting Atlanta. This was an amazing find. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. The owner even walked around to say hi and brought us dessert samples.

Wonderful surprise! You must try this place.

By Ferdinand del Toro |

Missed my reservation at another place nearby. Greek food sounded good, and the place was almost empty, so I decided to give it a try. Wonderful service! Great food! If you are in the area, you must try this place. $10 to $20 per plate. Beer and a bar.

Delicious food and charming spot

By rstorrs |

This is a gem in Atlanta, and will soon be moving to a larger building a block down E. Paces Ferry. The lamb and chicken kabobs are delicious, and the gyros are stuffed and fantastic. Full bar and some nice wine. Al is friendly and attentive.

Great food, Owner can be Obnoxious

By Justin S |

Every meal I have had here is great. Incredibly tasty, large portions - a good value for lunch. My only complaint is when the owner is around he can be a bit in your face. He has literally turned off some of my colleagues from ever returning.

Delicious

By zoudis1 |

Ordered the apple tea, hummus, spanakopita, lamb and beef combo plate, baklava, and rice pudding. It fed three, easily. And everything was so delicious!

Good food, reasonable prices

By jcastledoc |

Simple but good gyros, kebabs, salads in a very clean but casual atmosphere. It is not Mortons, but doesn't pretend to be

We will definitely return!

By CFSilver |

Everything was fresh and delicious. We shared a sampler platter, little bit of all appetizers, all delicious, especially the hummus. Lamb gyro meat salad and chicken gyro meal salad were flavorful and plenty of meat. Don't miss this restaurant.

Great casual Greek restaurant in ATL

By Lori H |

We stopped by the other night for a quick meal. It was late and yet they were still attentive. The food was good, service was good and ambience outside on a cool night was perfect. We both ordered a mixed grill and had the perfect variety. I didn't want the rice and they gladly swapped it for hummus for me. I would definitely consider catering from here too as a co worker of mine did recently and it was delicious too. I will be back and glad I tried it out. Parking is tight but they offer valet which helps!

Nice variety and good service

By Scott G |

Party of five everyone ordered something different, all smiles at our table. Clean inviting interior. I recommend the Ezme.

Just weird!

By JuliMS |

I was craving mediterranean food and based on some online links/reviews this is supposed to be one of the best in the Atlanta area. Arrived to an empty parking lot so I park and out of nowhere a valet comes rushing to greet me since it's complementary valet only parking unless you're picking a to go order. Inside the restaurant, you have to wait in line to place your order, get an order number and find a table like a fast food restaurant.... but with ?valet parking. The man who took our order was very serious and not cheerful. We sat and realized that we had to get our own drinks. The waiter brought our food... small plates and dismissive attitude. My husband didn't enjoy his food... he advised that he was vegan but his salad was full of feta cheese. I thought the falafel were delicious but the lack of service ruined the visit. In summary, decent food and lack of customer service!

Great Greek/Mediterranean food

By peterp404 |

We love the food and the cooks/servers. Very friendly! You should definitely try the falafel. Also good are the stuffed grape leaves. I try to go once a month, whenever I visit Atlanta.

Lunch

By Archie |

It has a small parking place but at least it's free. There is outdoor seating. You order like a fast food place and then they deliver to your table and it also has a full bar. The food was ok. We had babaganoush, falafel, chicken and fish platters. It was a little dry and their servings of sauces are very less. I am used to Mediterranean restaurants giving you hummus and Tzasiki sauce. The service was ok. We had to ask for water and then silverware. We had Effes beer and Riesling.

Casual atmosphere - tasty food

By nbhangtfan |

I actually went for the first time today to have a business meeting. Its a little informal - as you pay for your entrees up front then they are brought to you. Sort of like a semi-fast food restaurant. However the service and food were both great - I had the Kofte Kabob, and the others had the Chicken Salad and Chicken Entrée. All of us felt like the food was well prepared and fresh tasting. I will go back!

Great Mediterranean food

By MTSeet |

All the dishes we tried were delicious, lamb is very tender and chicken perfectly marinated. I recommend the Turkish potatoes and the Maza platter which has gives you a little taste of several appetizers. Service was friendly and courteous.

Bursting with Flavor and Friendliness

By mengel5 |

Truly enjoyed our lunch at Agora and highly recommend a visit. We were greeted by a very nice man, may have been the owner. He helped us choose between all the great items. DO NOT MISS THE HAYDARI APPETIZER. Wowee, the flavor and tastes. It came with some hummus, eggplant and something with carrots all bursting with flavored. Then had the gyro with lamb and the salad with lamb and chicken. Both tasty but seriously way too much meat so share so you can save room for dessert. Holy cow, best baklava I have ever had. The rice pudding was also fantastic. Enjoy your visit.

Horrible Experience

By Mareandcrew |

We had eaten here once before and enjoyed the meal, but our second trip last night was a disaster. The host greeted us with a rather surly disposition, but we let it pass and ordered. About 30 minutes after our order had been taken, we started seeking out our server. Two inquiries and another 10 minutes later, our server finally appeared looking wasted and annoyed that we had interrupted her time at the bar saying, "What is it?!?!!" I was so shocked, I immediately grabbed my purse to leave. She started calling after us that it was the kitchen's fault. These are pretty basic Greek meals they are serving, so there's no way our meals should have taken more than 10-15 minutes to reach our table and never should customers be treated this way. The staff here needs some serious help.

Ok, but could be better

By tripturner2 |

I love greek food, and there are not many selections in Atlanta for that. The restaurant has a wide selection of foods, but there is nothing that really stood out as something that would make me return craving something I'd had before.
