Classic French Bistro in Seattle's Famed Pike Place Market

By Marshall J |

Café Campagne has been around for ages so it's easy to sometimes forget its considerable charms. Stepping inside is like stepping into some place in Paris, with its burnished wood décor, its servers outfitted in traditional black and white, its long and companionable bar where strangers often become neighbors, plus its lengthy menu with all the bistro classics and more. This Seattle area resident hadn't been to Café Campagne in several years, but easily slipped into its welcoming embrace for a recent late evening meal at the bar as a solo diner. My duck confit dinner salad ($20) was a top-notch dazzler, with the chunks of duck interspersed with two kinds of cabbage, pine nuts and dollops of cheese, all served warm and vinegary and accompanied by three small toasts of French bread topped with melted duck pate. This was a perfect antidote to a blustery December evening. Service from the male bartender and female table servers was helpful and friendly, but not overly casual -- just right. Two glasses of excellent French country red wine ($13 each) nicely complemented the duck salad and a snifter of fine VSOP calvados ($16) provided the perfect capper to this most enjoyable repast. About the only drawback to my experience was the neighboring table of about a dozen friends who were boisterously loud; so was another large party in the back room. But this is a bistro, folks, not some hush-hush, white tablecloth, French restaurant. Such good times groups are not to be unexpected here. Café Campagne still delivers France, as it has for decades.

Poor service, disappointing expensive cuisine, eat elsewhere

By 863glenng |

Extremely slow, irregular service with mixed up courses. The French onion soup salty and low in flavor, dry overcooked chicken. The ambience loud with well worn out furnishings. Eat elsewhere, any where else.

Great!

By wineguy999 |

At first, I was disappointed, because the promise of Cassoulet on the menu outside got me through the door. But they redeemed themselves with delicious Duck Confit and a glass of Morgon. My dining partner had the Moules Marinière and enjoyed all. Service was excellent, as was the atmosphere. We'll return, and hopefully, the menu outside will be accurate.

Authentic french food minus the atmosphere

By FAF10 |

As a francophone and french-speaker I was delighted that this restaurant was recommended for our first meal in Seattle. At first glance it appeared to be replicating a typical french bistro, however on arrival, there was not even a bonsoir from the staff and very little french influence anywhere else apart from the food, which was great. Service was a little slow and we were hungry! The baguette, pate and duck were excellent. Overall though I expected more of a french experience, and was a little disappointed.

Amazing french restaurant

By Heather H |

Between the food, the sommelier, and the overall attention to detail it all made this one of our best meals in Seattle. I'm picky about French onion soup and this took me back to Paris. I had the salmon as my main entree. The fish was cooked to perfection and I would have licked the sauce off my plate. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough room to try dessert so we will be back.

Haven’t been here for years but still love it.

By Wklstoywife |

My husband and I haven’t been here in years. We wanted to come the last few times while in Seattle but it wasn’t open. Yesterday we were in town when they were open. I had made reservations and we were a bit early but we were seated right away. This place just reminds you of a cute french restaurant. We were given our menus and we picked a croque monsieur (not as good as I remember it being) and the specialty mushroom quiche. My husband had a cappuccino and I had an aperitif. Everything was very good. I would easily eat there again. Service was excellent, kind and with a smile. Had a wonderful breakfast.

Fabulous Brunch Spot

By Joey |

This is my favourite brunch spot when visiting Seattle. It has a lovely neighbourhood kind of ambience, and the brunch choices are superb. I love the French toast! One member of our group had the lamb burger, and he said the flavour was succulent. The service is always exceptional and the food prices are great.

Lovely restaurant located steps away from Pike Place Market

By Mary F |

Concierge at our Inn recommended this lovely restaurant for us to celebrate our anniversary. It was just amazing. Our server-Carrie-was incredibly amazing and went above and beyond to make our dining experience so memorable. Their house red wine was really good, but they also offer amazing selections of French Red Wine. A must is their house specialty Chicken! My taste buds are still doing the Happy Dance.

Only thing French about this restaurant is the prices.

By chadz52 |

We ate here because we had $100 credit from our hotel. The food was good (we both had the salmon) and shared a goat cheese appetizer with arugula salad. Drinks were so so. Wife had a cosmopolitan and the first one contained a little too much lime juice for her taste. She alerted the server and he prepared her another almost immediately. The peach desert was fantastic and our server was attentive in spite of the fact we was taking care of several tables. Prices seemed a little high but, for Seattle this may be the norm.

French Bistro in Pike Place Market Area

By stevehh2525 |

A bit hidden French restaurant near the big sign for Pike Place Market. But what great food and atmosphere! We were on the patio for breakfast, overlooking an alley, so we did feel like we were in France. Great food, at least the salmon, and a nice kir royal variation. Friendly and efficient service. Reasonable prices for where it is.

Goo Stew:

By Malcolm H |

We met friends from Vancouver BC for dinner. As Cafe Campagne is a “French” bistro, I ordered the Casoulet, my favorite French dish. It arrived in a nice cast iron pot. Unfortunately, the beans had been stewed to has-beans into which the other ingredients had sunk like quicksand. I know there was some duck in there, because a bone was sticking out. There was probably sausage too, but everything was a uniform bowel brown. I turned the serving spoon over and the edible grout remained firmly attached. When I drew the attention of the attentive waitress to this, she smiled and asked if I would like something else. I declined and left the remaining half of the casoulet in the pot. When the substantial bill was presented, it included the full $28 for the iffy dish, plus 20% service charge and 10% tax - over $35 in all - for less than $5 of ingredients? The manager’s only response was “but you ate half of it”. Maybe I should have accepted the offer of something else - but they would probably have still have charged me for the goo stew too. The company and fine wine were very enjoyable - maybe it’s unreasonable to expect a $50/head head dinner to be perfect in every respect?

Great location and cuisine

By Robert M |

Just a great location close to Pike Street Market and recommended by Thompson Hotel ,we were so pleased with our visit. Typically French décor with good lighting and nice bar. The service is excellent and the staff very pleasant. Portions are generous and the chicken dinner was superb and worth waiting for. Menu states time required for chicken and it is bang on

Defies the tourist trap temptation!

By SleipnirsRider |

When you are located only steps from Pike Place Market, it might be tempting to maximize profits, minimize value, and not worry about the long term. Cafe Campagne does the opposite, treating city visitors as if it wanted them to return every week. Very good service, exceptional food (try the cassoulet!), and a pleasant atmosphere - reservations recommeded!

Everything was perfect.

By L B |

Really happy we went here for dinner. The service was friendly and competent. I thought all the food was made correctly and tasted wonderful. The food was pricey however I thought it fairly priced. One thing to note is that the menu is very limited so check before you go to see if you will like what they are serving. Definitely make reservations for dinner.

A Seattle treasure!

By Nicholas V |

Café Campagne is one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle. We have been dining here for years and it seems to just get better with time. My wife and I often dine here before the Symphony as we did the other week and had an amazing meal. I always go for the steak-frites, but my wife had the salmon on the special menu that she thought was the best salmon dish she had ever had. The Executive Chef and owner, Daisley Gordon is a Seattle treasure and one of the few black chef-owners in the city. We fondly remember during the depth of COVID he used to deliver meals on his bicycle and once delivered a delicious meal to us down to our boat at Bel Harbor Marina. He is truly special as is the restaurant he continues to cultivate.

Pleasant Bistro atmosphere

By Roberta H |

We were there with a small group. The menu is standard French bistro/country French cuisine. The restaurant has a comfortable and casual bistro atmosphere. Service was good and all of us enjoyed our different entrees. Prices are also moderate which is also a plus for this area of Seattle near the Market.

A Parisian Delight

By Robert D |

Great place for Brunch. Reminds me of my times in Paris. Excellent service and food. My favorite place for Hot Chocolate.

Oh La La

By teresao131 |

This little gem has a wonderful selection of french cuisine and pure delight for any foodie. Alway's busy but that's how you know it's good!

Nice little French place for breakfast

By John W |

They take breakfast reservations. Delicious French food. Just a half block up from market and just outside the entrance to the Inn at the Market. If you’re looking for an American breakfast this isn’t it. But it is a wonderful change of pace.

Scrumptious Quiche and French Toast!

By May M |

The title says it all — I love quiche and I love French toast — and this really was the best I’ve had. We sat outside on the deck on a 75 degree, sunny Saturday. Wonderful!

Entire family loved this restaurant, from our son who lived in Paris, our Utah outdoorsman, to us Midwesterners

By Jeff Brunello |

We walked in with no reservation at a very busy holiday weekend, and they were welcoming and pleasant, set up a table. Excellent wine selection by the glass, including several Bordeaux, left and right bank. Engaging server brought fresh bread, and suggestions on menu items. We especially liked the duck, pommes frittes, pate, goat cheese salad, lamb burger. Other families that night were clearly enjoying it, too. Their kids came over to our table to rave about the sorbet and ice cream desserts, and we ordered and enjoyed them. This was an exceptional dinner. We'll definitely be back.

Great French Restaurant in Seattle

By Lisa B |

Delicious French food! Everything was great - from the drinks to the desserts! All service staff were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Luxurious late afternoon lunch!

By Makana |

Anytime you can feel like you are in France, glass of bubbly in hand, is luxurious to me!! The restaurant definitely has the French bistro vibe. If our wait person had an accent, it would have been perfect! Started with a glass of bubbly...oh did I mention that already? :) Then had the crab quiche! YUMMY! So creamy and it paired perfectly with the light salad that comes with it. Planning on returning to experience dinner!

Plan B

By Joseph F M |

Our first stop was Matt’s with a 1 pm reservation for four. We arrived early - 12:15 - and advised no chance to dine. Extremely arrogant, incompetent hostess at Matt’s. (If she’s owner - my apologies.) So we walked into - without reservation - Cafe Champagne. Totally different, pleasant dining experience. Sunlit. Attentive staff. Fine food. Three course luncheon enjoyed w French bubbly.

Stepped into a Parisian Café

By gradstudent10 |

Had my hubby along for a business trip and we stopped in for an amazing romantic getaway from meetings. We were walk ins and immediately they found room for us at the bar which still provided a full menu. The glitter of still standing Christmas tree and shimmer of the colorful cocktails entertainment us as we shared escargot and various wines and delicious tenderloin of beef. Highly recommend.

Their Croque Madame is to die for!

By Beach Girl Maui |

Every time we are in Seattle, one of our must stops while enjoying the city is Cafe Campagne to enjoy their Croque Madame! It is very fresh, authentic & each bite a taste treat! The ambiance makes you feel as if you are sitting in a cafe in Paris. The service is 5-Star too... Tip: don’t load up on the complimentary baguette served with cold butter & delicious homemade preserves before your entree gets delivered (although very tempting)... as the portions are large & very filling.

Brunch

By nancybookaholic |

Wandered in for brunch and were lucky enough to get in without a reservation. I had the large mocha and pain au chocolat; delish. My husband had the French toast (which he kindly shared). Victor was our server; friendly, courteous and very helpful we bought an almond croissant to take with but hadn’t tried as of this review but it looks amazing.

Great Brunch

By Tom Davenport |

We had breakfast/ brunch on a Wednesday at about 11am. The food and service were both great! I loved the bread they served. Soft in the inside with a chewy crust. It’s a great alternative to the food served at Pikes Market.

Delightful Euro brunch

By StrShp115 |

When you peruse the Brunch menu, it takes a moment to digest ingredient combinations for a mid day meal....from gravlax sandwich, salad nicioise, dungeness crab quiche and a host of egg dishes....my choice was poached egg, red wine foie gras reduction with bacon, mushroom, pearl onion, on a garlic crouton. The dish was flavorful, tasty, well prepared....and a dish I can’t compare to any other i have ever run across...so if your adventurous- try the Oeufs Muerette. The accompanying Pommes Frites were perfect....eat fast before they cool down. Creme Brûlée for dessert was excellent as one would expect at this long standing establishment in the Pikes Place Market area. Service was good....

Reminded us of Paris

By Tom |

The weather cooperated and we were seated at a quiet outdoor table . The salmon special was delicious as was the French onion soup . Service was friendly and efficient. Extensive wine list. We skipped dessert but were tempted by the dessert menu.

Lovely French restaurant

By cristinecrom |

This lovely French restaurant is located near the Pike Place Market. We ate lunch there twice and both times was very pleased with the food, which was well prepared and nicely plated; I especially enjoyed the Dungeness crab quiche and their salade verte while my husband really liked their salad nicoise. Nice wine list, good service, fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices. This place is quite popular, so best to make a reservation.

FantasticO

By Chris V |

Flew to Seattle for the 49ers game. Just happened to pick this place out of many choices. Started with champagne selected by the sommelier, had the most incredible calamari appetizer I’ve ever had – – sautéed not fried – – duck confit for the main course and ice cream for dessert. Service was first rate and food even better. Wish I had this restaurant in Sacramento. In fact, went back the next night and had the salmon dish. Another outstanding choice.

Lovely little French cafe

By AlfalfaAnchorageAK |

We joined a friend for lunch at the Cafe Campagne, located in downtown Seattle, near the famed public market. A quiet, very French-feeling cafe with a nice listing of French dishes. Everyone enjoyed their choices, and the non-rushed atmosphere was also enjoyably continental. We recommend the experience!

Lovely little French inspired cafe

By YouGoGirl |

Love the fresh breakfast with unique choices including chocolate croissants, fresh herbed salads and instead of a mimosa try a Lillet on the rocks with orange twist French press coffee and hearty chocolate bowls for cocoa. I like the warm feel of this great little cafe and friendly staff. Highly recommend reservations as they can get very busy!

French Brunch

Excellent choice, a French and friendly environment, very close to the market so is an excellent option for a good Lunch and the continue your visit to the Local market. The food was delicious!

A hidden gem amongst the tourist traps

By Khai L |

You shall not judge a restaurant by its location for this is not a tourist trap. I repeat, Cafe Campagne is not a tourist trap! Situated in Post Alley, right in front of Pike Place Market, Cafe Campagne was my friend's recommendation for a late night dinner and I bet my whole meal on it. I ordered the cassoulet, which was also my friend's favorite. The dish came out in this hot dutch-oven, and the waitress offered to scoop up my first serving. A few bites later, I realized one thing: 'Life is like eating a cassoulet, you don't know what you are going to get.' One bite it was tender meat from frog leg, another bite lamb shank, another fennel flavor from the sausage, all mushed together with beans. Overall, I think Julia Child would approve of the dish because I enjoyed mine and finished it even though it was meant to share between 2 people. I hope tourists will stumble upon this gem so that they will leave Seattle with something memorable.

A long-time favorite!

By Victoria B |

Like a Paris Bistro tucked away half a block above Pike Place Market. Delicious pommes frites and in general its dishes are both comfort food and sophisticated, classical French fare.

Very Expensive

By Dale M |

This restaurant was very expensive for what it was. I ordered a burger and it cost $35 before tax and tip and at best it was average. Only good thing I can say is the French fries were brilliant.

excellent service & tasty french food

By thecrazydoglady |

Victor, provided efficent, friendly, and knowledgeable service. Must try if you have never been! Perfect for a date or someplace to impress your mother!

Breakfast is Different

By CharlietheBlueJay |

This isn't your average egg & bacon breakfast. It is very french and delicious. I had eggs in a red wine sauce (no I did not get drunk) with French Fries. Want something different eat here you won't be disappointed.

Great food and professional service

By 780edwards |

We chose this restaurant for my wife's birthday and even though it was packed the service was excellent and the foor top notch and made for a delightful evening. Made us long to return to France.

Wonderfull, Again!

By AKRM |

We enjoyed a fantastic dinner with our son who lives in Seattle. My husband and son had the steak frites and I had the delicious duck confit and we rounded off the dinner with a wonderful prune glacé. Lots of other guests ordered and raved about the cassoulet. Excellent bistro dinner in a (as we say in German) gemütlich ambience. This is one of our favorite go to restaurants whenever we are in Seattle!

Lovely meal and setting

By jjvorisek |

This is a restaurant we frequent whenever we are in Seattle for a slow traditional yummy meal. The staff is always helpful and attentive. We always start with wine and pate and continue from there! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Have to visit everytime we are in Seattle

By traveling_gourmet_bc |

If you are looking for a great french bistro option, Cafe Campagne is a great choice. We have to visit every time in Seattle. Here are some of our favorites: For dinner, the Roast chicken or the Olive Pasta. At lunch you have to try the Lamb burger and/or the CALAMARS À LA PROVENÇAL. Delicious !!! Reservations are recommended. Big thank you to Anna for always getting us a great seat at the Bar :)

Delicious French bistro in a prime location

By Margaret V |

Friday night dinner in a casual, welcoming restaurant just steps from the hustle and bustle of pike street market. Delicious dinner. Fries were clearly hand cut and prepared in house - and disappeared within moments of arrival. A lovely meal - will absolutely recommend to friends traveling to Seattle.

Wonderful spot near the Waterfront

By alohapeter |

This spot is a gem.I had the best quiche in my life and was impressed with the varied and appealing menu. Something for everyone including fresh squeezed on and delicious coffee.

Good choice for Lunch Near Pike Market

By Antionio10 |

A good choice for lunch. The quiche, duck confit, salad, red pepper soup were all good. Service was good too. Oddly enough, the bread was a bit stale.

Great Brunch in Pike Place

By AirSchis |

Met our friends recently for brunch in this fairly easy to find restaurant in Pike Place Market area. Definitely try to make a reservation in advance. Excellent and varied brunch menu with so many choices. Both savoury and sweet. Plus, good choices of drinks. We all enjoyed our plates. The server came quickly and everything was delivered on a timely basis with a service-oriented attitude. We sat outside which was a real bonus. Portion sizes were good and prices were appropriate for the meals. All good and we'll back.

Disappointing in All Respects

By marfak |

I love French bistro food and we were looking forward to eating here. But it let us down. The space is very cute, but the back room where we were seated was very noisy, as in we could hardly hear each other cross the table. The menu was very limited, I had the escargot and it was very plebian. I could have made the same thing at home. My wife had the French onion soup and the chicken broth base was oddly out-of-place; it tasted like chicken soup with onions, cheese and croutons. We shared the charcuterie platter, which was plentiful but, again, not especially creative. Dessert was Baba au Rhum, which was very, very good, however. Service was very slow. All in all, a big let-down. Last week we ate at a Michelin star French bistro in San Diego and the difference in the quality of the food and service was very noticeable.

Authentic French Cuisine in the Inn at the Market

By Robert R |

Absolutely delicious French cuisine provided in a delightful setting just outside of the front entrance to the Inn at the Market. Outstanding and friendly staff, great menu selections well prepared and reasonably priced.

Poor Service

By Sarah Y |

We were looking forward to a business dinner here but were sadly disappointed. The service we received overshadowed our whole experience. We had just got done working a 10plus hour day on our feet at a conference and still had all of our stuff with us. While sitting down, we placed our water bottles on the table while we were getting situated and before we could move them, the server came over and scolded us for having outside drinks on the table. One of my colleague's Mexican ID was denied which felt very discriminatory. The same colleague had brought some Mexican candy to share with us and set it down on the table so we could put it in our bags, and the server immediately came over to scold us and said "we have very strict laws here, very strict laws". Obviously, I know that there are no such laws since I was a local and no other restaurants we went in had this issue. Was a very frustrating experience that left us feeling discriminated against for nationality.

Eggs

By pizzachat |

The food was pretty good, there were a few bumps along the way: they put a fan on so it was really cold in the restaurant. But they do give refills on some drinks. I ordered French toast fries and bacon, the French toast was pretty stale but the bacon and fries were good.

After all of these years; how disappointing!

By greatcats |

What a great space in a great location. The accolades stop there. No one was at the front desk when we arrived for our reservation. After the wait we were seated and offered beverages. Pâté with pickled vegetables was good along with a bread service. Two of us ordered the chicken which was promised in 30 minutes; Le Pichet gets it done on time. Not here. More than an hour passed before the dry chicken was served. What happened to the French Onion soup! I have no idea what it was besides a bowl of bread and some light salty liquid which couldn’t have been beef. The service was slow and unresponsive and the restaurant wasn’t busy; no excuse.

Perfect late lunch

By Campbell W |

Arrived in Seattle and walked to Pikes Market - stopped here for a late lunch. We enjoyed a croque monsieur and a crab quiche which were accompanied by a salad. Menu has a French cafe theme. Coffee was excellent and the house IPA went down well. Service was good and as we were late there were plenty of tables.

A real French bistro feel and outdoor seating available

By fudgbug |

A real French bistro feel. The bread and butter were as good as any that we've had in France. The menu is limited but what is offered is done well. Service from Tatyana was outstanding as was the Armagnac at the bar after dinner. Outdoor seating is available.

Delightful brunch

By jackieG81 |

My husband and I had a fantastic brunch here. Service was excellent and the food was great. We had a chocolate croissant, rolled omelette and coffee wonderful.

A beautiful and cozy French restaurant with reasonable to good food, but...

By Homero Meirelles Jr |

A beautiful and cozy "French" restaurant with attentive and friendly service (but no one speaks French). The snails were great, but only after I added salt. The sauce was completely unsalted. The lamb burger was excellent, cooked just right (medium rare). The fries were super salty, so much so that the roof of your mouth would peel. Since the snails were unsalted, they added twice as much salt to the fries. The onion soup had great flavor, but it wasn't a French-style soupe à l'oignon. In addition to very little onion, instead of French cheese, they added Grana Padano (Italian), and in such a huge quantity, it made it very difficult to eat the soup. The wine service was terrible. I ordered a glass of Cotes de Rhone and then a glass of Bordeaux. Both glasses were brought with the wine already inside, without the bottle being presented to me. Understandable in an American bar or an English pub. Unacceptable in a so-called French restaurant. I expected much more.

Breakfast, French Style :-)

By JJMcG66 |

Flew across country very early this week, able to check in at the Inn at the Market around 9am then headed around the corner for breakfast at Cafe Campagne. Great service, very attentive, friendly and timely. Ordered eggs over toasted brioche and foie gras sauce, served with frites. Really, really scrumptious. What a flavor explosion! That evening, had a disappointing dinner at Shaker + Spear but after returning to the hotel, went back down to Cafe Campagne and ordered Chocolate Armagnac Mousse and Pavlova for dessert to take back to the room. Oh my, smiles returned to our faces! The moose was rich and flavorful; not too sweet. The meringue in the Pavlova was perfect, fresh fruit sweet and tart. Will be back!

Lovely French Cafe, Good food

By Merril Y |

Family brunch consisted of tasting their quiche of the day, French Toast, Soup of the day and Omelette with Chicken/Pork sausage... Authentic flavours with each dish more than meeting our individual expectations. Accompanied by a carafe of house wine... attentive and friendly service - all told, a worthwhile visit and experience.

Took a chance…

By DonnieDon |

Stopped here as we were at Pike Market and wanted to get out of the huge weekend crowds. We decided to take a chance on this little place since we had not seen any reviews but the menu looked good. We love French cuisine and this restaurant did well. The service was excellent as was the food. We sat out on the patio to enjoy the cool weather as we were hot and tired from the walk from our hotel. We both had the quiche and it was light, creamy and savory. It was served with a nice salad with a tasty vinaigrette. For dessert we had a chocolate cognac mousse which was very rich and delicious. We were glad we took a chance and stopped here.

Delightful breakfast!

By jacqueet |

We stumbled upon this little French place while wandering around Seattle, and decided to try it for breakfast. There were three of us and we all loved what we ordered! My sister had the quiche with a lightly dressed salad, my husband had poached eggs atop garlic toast with a wine/foie gras sauce and mushrooms (oeufs meurette), and I had the pate plate. Classic French bistro music was playing ib the background. We all agreed we would return when next in Seattle.

Save your Money

By GazPerth |

We went here because it was close to our hotel on a cold, rainy night. So it was basically empty, which we thought was because of the weather! While the menu is at best French inspired, there is no real attempt to produce French cuisine (lamb burger on the menu!!!). The food we were served was incredibly basic and unbelievevibly poorly cooked, making it an unpleasent experience. The service was also poor and we really felt we were an imposition on staff who were hoping the place would be totally empty all night. Based on our experiece, keep walking past this one.

Lunch at Pikes Place

By CColumbus |

Taking a walk through the market was great fun and we just happened to find Cafe Campagne. Glad we did because the food was excellent and service fantastic. We were lucky because the young lady who was seating couldn’t find a table for us because it was so booked up and busy but again luckily for us the restaurant manager came by and sat us and continued to be serving our table for the rest of our lunch which made the experience even better. I did get his name and he definitely does have a French accent and l thank him for taking care of us 👍 also the view of the bay from the outside terrace was amazing.

Our favorite French restaurant in Seattle - even during COVID!

By Nicholas V |

Cafe Campagne has long been our favorite French restaurant in Seattle, though we had not returned since COVID until this past weekend when we ordered a delicious dinner delivered to our boat visiting Bell Harbor Marina for the weekend. The best boeuf bourguignon ever, fabulous quiche Lorraine, perfect pommes frites, their wonderful semolina baguette - what a treat. The best part was, it was delivered by none other than the owner and chef himself, Daisley Gordon on his bicycle! Wow. How special can you get?

Surprisingly Disappointing

By RoseCityTraveler626 |

We visited this restaurant after a very long absence earlier this year. I guess we should have waited longer. It was a cool evening, and French Onion Soup seemed a good choice; however, it lacked flavor. In fact, it did not seem like onion soup at all -- more like a broth. The rest of the meal was okay, but the tone was set at the onset. Sorry to say this gets three star, and that's generous.

Classic French Brasserie in the heart of the Market

By Max B |

Situated close to the Market this restaurant is in a great location. Service is spot on and very efficient and dare I say it... very ‘French’. Great menu, something for all tastes and an expertly chosen wine list. We didn’t have a good start to our time in Seattle with terrible delays in immigration, but Cafe Campagne really lifted our spirits. Highly recommended.

Always gave a lunch here

By greekgirl49 |

This is a must whenever we visit Seattle. A block from Pike Place Market, it is a quiet retreat from the tourists. Great French food in a casual atmosphere.

Lovely French bistro at Pike Place

By Phillip G |

Had a wonderful brunch with family in this great bistro in Post Ally. Typical French menu and wonderful helpful staff. I had the omelet and the house made sausage was the best I’ve had in the city. Well worth the wait for a table!

Lamb Burger

By shereenbourne |

The lamb burger with fries was seasoned nicely. I didn’t have space for anything else after eating it. Lovely space for a weekend brunch with great service.

Utterly disappointed

By Robin Pigott |

I am a fan of French food so we decided to stay overnight in Seattle on our way to N Cascade range. We used to call this restaurant one of our favorites in Seattle. Not anymore! The escargot, a starter I always order whenever I found myself in French restaurant, was the worst I’ve ever had: a few of them were mushy and the dish had no taste! It was obvious that whoever prepared it he/she didn’t tasted before sending it out to be served. Or, had no idea how this dish should taste. Then they brought a wrong salad but instead of apologizing the wait person angrily shouted “oh, if you want a different salad I will take care of that!” I guess I need to get used to the fact that when there are a lot of tourists the general quality and service level plummet. I am utterly disappointed.

Incredible Service and Meal

By david p |

This is a quaint restaurant in the Pikes Place area of Seattle. We had incredible friendly service and the meal was outstanding. Can’t wait for next visit.

Pleasantly pleased.

By suandseb |

We just happened to be strolling by and I thought it looked nice. I love a good French restaurant. This place was fantastic. Excellent wines and cocktails. Starters and main courses were great. I did not have time for dessert. If I lived near this restaurant I would go every week. It feels like a French " country" restaurant. Very comfortable and authentic.

Best Brunch

By 439Sqn |

After having lived just across the Rhine from so many great French bistros for years while serving in Europe. To find a cafe where the food and atmosphere echoed those times so perfectly was a treat. Every time we are down from Vancouver visiting Seattle we make sure to have at least one brunch here. My wife also claims the sole almandine is the absolute best.

Escargot

By Naomi F |

I know it’s not for everyone but I urge you to get the escargot. So much buttery and garlicky flavor. My husband had the steak frites and they were very good. I’m not into Roquefort so it wasn’t for me. I had the salmon, and while I wasn’t really into the coleslaw type dish the salmon was on top of the salmon was perfect. The flavor and the crispy skin just worked so well. They also make a pretty good French 75. It’s also a great spot for people watching if you get a spot on the patio.

Excellent Brunch Place

By Patricia E |

My sister and I always make sure to eat here when we visit Seattle. The Quiche Du Jour is usually our go-to meal - have always been satisfied with it. The breads are delicious as are the sausages and soups.

GR8 Food You didn’t Know Existed!

Unless you’re a gourmet chef you aren’t making dishes like the ones served here at home. This is an authentic French Bistro making fantastic dishes you didn’t even know existed! It’s so authentic even the house wine is made specifically in France and the hot chocolate is like nothing you’ve tried before unless you’ve actually been to Cafe Angelina in Paris. Unreal!

Lovely

By skippie_8 |

We came for restaurant week and really had a nice time. Cozy restaurant with good service. Would really love to come back for dinner or brunch. Four stars because our entrees were much much smaller than those that a la carte diners were enjoying. My salad, sole entre and torte dessert were very good though! Wine selection nice too!

French restaurant with weekend brunch

By Shanelle |

Bustling French restaurant with weekend brunch by Pike Place. Made a reservation online for 12:30 on a Sunday - there was a 15 minute grace period. You have to show your vaccination card and ID at the hostess stand. Credit cards are accepted. Indoor dining (outdoor dining didn’t appear to be an option when we visited). The tables are very close together, so if you’re still uncomfortable with indoor, non-socially distant restaurants, perhaps come at a different time when it’s not crowded. The restaurant was busy when we went, so it took a bit for the waitress to come take our order (she didn’t say hello either and forgot to bring our baguette, but I understand many restaurants are understaffed right now). The food was on the pricier side but was good. The pommes frites are good for 2-3 people to share. The soup du jour when we visited was butternut squash, and it was a very hearty, warming soup.

Such a Great Lunch Spot

By janetb52 |

Such a comfortable, relaxing venue. Despite a very rainy day, this very welcoming venue was warm and perfect. Great coffee, and likely the best omlette ever. Nicely presented, with a delicious side of greens, and thoughtfully served. Loved it.

Delish

By Dls1099 |

Great little spot near Pike Place market! The quiche du jour was the best ever! Nice wine list. Friendly wait staff.

Tasty breakfast- croissants to go also delicious!

By Carrie |

I enjoyed a delicious breakfast recently with my family. Quiche, French omelette, French toast were all delicious. Coffee was fantastic. Breakfast potatoes were just a bit undercooked and unseasoned, which was a minor disappointment but not a big deal overall. We got croissants to go which made delicious sandwiches the next day. Definitely recommend and would visit again!

Best Croque Monsieur Ever

By Lauren W |

I love this place. It’s adorable and cozy inside, with pretty French music playing, friendly staff, and delicious bread. But the croque monsieur — it is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. You really need to go try this!

Perfect brunch

By Melissa B |

A favorite little French bistro. Love the croques madame. Decor, staff and food are excellent - it’s all quite charming. If it’s busy and you don’t have a reservation, they will text you when your table is almost ready so you can meander Pikes place market while you wait. It was perfect.

Amazing Quiche!

By Sarah S |

I HIGHLY recommend the Crab quiche! It literally melts in your mouth... one of the best quiches I have ever had. So good! Friendly staff. Outside seating. Perfect brunch spot in Pike Place Market!

Authentic French cafe

By Saye506 |

Charming and authentic French cafe with professional and courteous staff. I appreciated the small menu. Large menus are a bad sign in my opinion. We were allowed plenty of time to enjoy some pre-dinner cocktails. Nothing was rushed. We shared the tenderest escargot I have ever had. My wife had the Bourguignon on spatzel, which was a unique twist. I had a crab salad with a generous helping of Dungeness crab. Wine selections were curated by our very knowledgable server.

Great Food!

By Yungmarie |

Reservations are definitely needed and I booked mine through "Open Table" very easy to access and easy to make your reservations. Table for 1 was not that hard LOL! I got there before my assigned time and was seated without hesitation. I actually had the option of sitting at the bar or a table. I opted for a table. I wanted the full experience. My waitress Evee came by and asked the necessaries. She was also very helpful in my food choices and she made really great suggestions. The food was scrumptious and the atmosphere was delightful and happy. Tables are almost too close to each other and you can literally hear everyone's conversation, which at times can be cute and not so cute. LOL! They do have an outdoor seating area which has some covering to help shade some of the sun out of your face. You are definitely not rushed to have your meal and as I mentioned the service was wonderful. They have "frites" on the menu, but it's nothing like what I anticipated. Those frites are made to share with your table. So think of 1 person having all that frites, I couldn't even get through half of it, because it was nothing that I know fs to be. Food seemed fresh and also served hot/warm depending on the dish that you order. It's tucked away, but most certainly gets the crowd it deserves. I totally recommend dining here. You wont be disappointed.

Delightful find with good food and even better service

By Akamum |

This was one of those 'friend of a friend' recommendations and I'm so glad we left behind the crazed tourist spots in the nearby market and checked this place out. We were able to eat outside on their little patio and the food and service were equally delightful. I choose the crab quiche - delicious - my friends choose waffles and an omelet. All of us were very pleased with the food. And, unlike in France, the servers were friendly and accommodating.

Authentic French Cuisine On The West Coast

By colinjopinion |

This is a regular stop every time we hit Seattle, some of the best French food I have experienced outside of France, with a good wine list. Check it out you will not be disappointed.

Like Being in Paris

By Rich W |

This is an authentic French bistro, like you were just in Paris. Great location - basically right in the Pike Street Market. Everything we had was wonderful. We could have ordered dozens of things on the menu if we had the appetite. No modern pretensions here -- they are strictly traditional, which is what we love about this cuisine.

Authentic french and good service

By Gary S |

We spotted this corner restaurant on our wander around the streets behind Likes Place market....good recce. We were greeted by a sweet young Mandy and escorted thru to our corner table by our waiter Johnny/Jiasu. Smart engaging guy. I had a good Roquefort salad to kick off. Hanger steak cooked rare...with a mountain of skinny fries. Wine choice was a Vaceyras from France. Pretty good one. I could have drank a second bottle. Might even go back and do just that. Good spot and we made good choices. I would eat here again.

Best breakfast with great coffee

By John S |

So glad we decided to have breakfast here- it was not cheap - but it was excellent. On a pleasant morning we were able to sit on the terrace and glimpse the world going by. My wife (as always) opted for a cooked breakfast- this time the oeufs brouilles. It was a plate full and she said the scrambled egg was cooked ‘just right’. I couldn’t go past the house made granola with yoghurt and strawberries- perfect. I would definitely have this again. I love the mix of textures and flavours. Excellent espresso coffee with a decorative twist of lemon on my spoon. Friendly and efficient service. Very happy customers.

Convenient for our evening in Seattle!

By Ruth S |

As we were staying at the Inn at the Market, we enjoyed our evening meal here. It is quite charming although on a Friday evening, crowded and noisy. We enjoyed a variety of the menu items but our favorite was the French onion soup.

Enjoyed My Dining

By Hardrocker8888 |

My friend recommended this place and I enjoyed my dinner. I was able to sit outdoors and be socially distanced from the other tables. My server was very friendly and helpful. I had the Pate and Beef Bourguignon. There was more than enough Pate for several people. I took the rest back to the hotel. And I loved the Beef Bourguignon—no leftovers, I ate it all.

Delightful!

By dlk09 |

A very cute and fairly small French bistro. We enjoyed the escargot, the wine and the atmosphere. Very close to the marketplace.

Worth the wait

By alan m |

We happened upon this little restaurant in between our cruise and flight home. What a treat. The atmosphere takes you to Paris with the servers in white shirts and black vests and French music playing in the background. The quiche lorraine was the absolute best we have ever had. We shared the quiche and French toast and had a couple of good mimosas. Highly recommend.

Good, but not Great

By Jeff and Jill |

Visited Cafe Campagne for the second time as part of Seattle Restaurant Week. Easily obtained an early reservation. Arrived on-time and was promptly seated. Our waiter was timely with water and went through the available regular menu and restaurant week menu. We elected to take the Restaurant Week menu (3 courses, 3 choices for each course for $35). All was looking good. Bread arrived. Cold baguette and ice hard butter pat. We let everything sit through appetizer course which arrived promptly with drinks. Apps were very good. 40 minutes later, seriously, 40 minutes entrees finally arrived. We asked about them at 30 minutes and were told that everyone came in at the same time and they were backed up. We arrived at 5:30 to an almost empty restuaurant and it was at best half full when we left. Not flying. Food was very good. I get I didnt pay all that much for restaurant week, but still had a reasonable expectation for a bit better service. I think the food quality is still high and intend to go back at some time in the future.

Forever a classic

By LeighWalker1 |

A Seattle classic, it can't be beat. The roasted chicken by night and the quiche by day. And always, always, always, the frites! Love you, Cafe Campagne.

Early dinner

By Giles T |

Just arrived in Seattle, grumpy and jet lagged and I hope this hasn’t affected my judgement. We both had French onion soup and steak frites. The soup was very very cheesy, and strangely not much flavour. The steak was (to me) an unusual cut, and tough. Fries fine. Fabulous wine list, understandably French based, but compared to the UK really really expensive. Or I s this just the US nowadays? Ask me again in 4 weeks when I head home. Finally, our waiter was efficient but deeply disinterested. So just a little disappointed and perhaps measuring against personal benchmarks that need updating.

Go to Place in the Market

By rookie669 |

This is a fantastic place to grab a special French lunch while stepping away from the crowds of the Market. The menu has all the French staples that you would like to try along with excellent service. The lunch prices are reasonable and the experience gives you a taste of France culture.

A Must When in Seattle

By Lewis S |

If you don't have a reservation, the brunch is worth the wait. Food, service and ambiance are superb. My wife, son and myself thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Cafe Campagne. We started with the chicken & pork sausage, and the pate. Only note, with regard to the pate, tell your waitperson to have the pate and the bread served at room temperature. During our first visit, both were served cold. Our entrees were one each of the three egg dishes offered. I will highly recommend the omelette. As I will also recommend the martini, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Food great, Service Terrible

By Clidinho |

The food was excellent , Unfortunately the service we received fell way short to the meal it self. My wife had the Boeuf Bourguignon and I had the steak with Frites, both very well done and we found it to,be quite tasty. We also had a good wine Fromm the Rhône region. However, our server disappeared for long periods during dinner and when she showed up, she smelled like cigarettes . Frankly, that is not fair to those of us who do not smoke and don’t care to smell like cigarettes. Again, food was excellent, service took away, what could have been a wonderful dinner.

A True French Dining Experience in the Market

By JNUGeo |

A late morning wander through the Market brought us to the doors of Cafe Campagne and I am so glad we dropped in. From their sensible approach to being open during Covid by asking for proof of vaccinations to the attentive service and delightful dishes this was a nice experience for us. I had a perfectly made croque monsieur accompanied by greens w/vinaigrette dressing and my wife loved the salad nicoise she ordered (I was lucky enough to get a few bites and the tuna was top quality.) We enjoyed a couple glasses of the cafe’s own label cote du Rhône which was excellent.

Excellent French Bistro

By momififi |

This is the place to visit for superior French food with great service. They have happy hours too, in case you want to get discount on your food and drinks. Their french onion soup and escargot are excellent. Definitely a restaurant I would like to go back to when in Seattle!

GREAT SPOT FOR LNCH/BRUNCH

By realbigbear |

Cafe Campagne has a well-deserved reputation as one of the best restaurants in the Pike Street Market area. We went on a Saturday when they offer brunch. It was excellent. Our quiches were excellent, and the bloody marys were divine. The service was very good. There is no view from the restaurant, but it does have outside seating. We highly recommend this restaurant.

A must stop!!

By HJay |

While here on a work trip, my friend and I dined here for lunch one day. Our server was incredibly personable and attentive. The food is delicious and we found a new wine we both enjoy! Comfortable, cozy and clean!

Great Restaurant for a quiet Break!

By Travel3Kids |

We loved the restaurant. It is near the Pike’s Place Tourist area but in a charming alley that feels very removed from the tourists. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. We had the escargot, steak, beef bourguignon, sipping chocolate and crème brûlée. Everything was very good and the sipping chocolate such a treat. The service was excellent without being overwhelming. We will be back!.

French Bistro-esque looking but doesn’t taste…

By Eva |

Lunch reservations at this very busy spot on a Sunday was a smart move for anyone on a day like today. Decided to spend the day with parents at Pike Place and opted here for lunch. Service was great - very friendly and attentive although we did look a little puzzled when we were told about the daily specials and informed they were out of croissants. Umm… Choose the Salade niçoise and while it was good, I was rather stunned to not see more green leaf and also that the tuna was so dry. Typically it’s stored in oil but this was so dry, I had a hard time piece it apart. I might go back to try something in the evening as their wine list looked good.

Busy place for bruncg

By Safari598015 |

Met friends for Sunday brunch- even booking ahead the choice was 9.15 or 12.15! Decent service, but GREAT food. I’d highly recommend swinging by here anytime.

Disappointing return to an old favorite.

By Malice6 |

After many years of considering this one of our Seattle favorites we returned after a couple of years of absence. Had reservations for brunch and arrived to a nearly empty restaurant and greeted by a receptionist who was inappropriately dressed for the job and had an attitude. Gave us an argument when we didn't like the table we were given. After ordering it took over 30 minutes to get our food. Tables that were seated after us got served before us.. Our food arrived and we were disappointed. A spring asparagus dish with poached eggs turned out to be chopped asparagus mixed with avocado and celery, all of which would have been fine if not chopped up and mixed together. Mine was gravlax served open face on bread that was toasted. The Lax was fine except that they put too much spicy mustard on the bread, when the traditional was to serve it is with a sweet mustard sauce, with dill. The slow service set the pace, plus we had to ask twice for ice for our lukewarm water.

Authentic French Bistro close to Market.

By bill m |

A quiet place close to the Pike Place Market. Had dinner there with family recently and had a very good experience in that the ambience, drinks, food and service were outstanding. Started with a recommended house cocktail made of gin, chartreuse and orange liquor-delightful. Our party of three had the salads, onion soup (huge portions each) for appetizers, bistro steak and house pasta with olives and capers, accompanied by a nice, not overly priced wine. Spent three days in Seattle and we all agreed that this was our best meal of all. The city and its restaurants are expensive but this little gem is moderately priced and we were happy to have found it and look forward to a return visit when in the area again.

Great Brunch

By silversandsmilf |

Went with a group of 4 for Brunch on a lazy Saturday morning... what a treat. Cozy and inviting, if we didn’t have a reservation for a table I would have loved to sit at the bar as well. I had the scrambled eggs. The potatoes were unreal, so good. My husband had the French toast. Loved it. Great bloody mary’s... great mimosas. We will be back.

Great for Brunch

By Maria R |

Came on Sunday for Brunch and ordered their Brunch special, the omelet was fluffy but was lacking that "je ne sais quois" on french flavor. Location is amazing and service was fine.

Major disappointment

By bill m |

After about a two year Covid wait we were anxious to return to Seattle and the Cafe Camapgne. We were very disappointed with the food although the service was fine. Our server claimed that the cook staff had been able to stay on all through the pandemic and one would have thought, with that and the much limited menu options, we would have a fine dining experience. Not so, we ordered the escargot, pate, beef bourguignon and the steak frites. The escargot appetizer was all butter and parsley with tiny snails but absolutely no garlic flavor, a signature ingredient. However the pate was good and enough to share. Downhill from there as the beef stew was a sad replication of this easy to make French beef stew. The beef was tough or tender depending on the bite, the noodles non descript and all floating in a thin, salty beef base liquid with a smattering of what might have been mushrooms or carrots. Such an easy restaurant item that should have been thick, rich with fall apart beef and luscious pearl onions, mushrooms and carrots over noodles. The steak item was thick and tough with ok fries, not the classic French version that again is a simple signature bistro item. Two martinis and two HOUSE reds amounted to over $60 in our $200 dollar bill for three people after a comp for one of the beef stew meals that our companion described as inedible. We know that restaurants have struggled during the past 18 months but we thought that with the original kitchen staff and menu items reduced by about half, this establishment would have been raring to go and putting out quality meals. We can only express sadness as we had had such a terrific experience last time we visited and afterwards wrote a positive review on this site. We hope that this review comes to the attention of the restaurant and that they can find their way back to being one of the best bistros in town.

Phenomenal

By David P |

Five of us went to dinner here while visiting for a conference. Food, service, atmosphere and everything was just impeccable.

Great meal near Pike Place Market

By Michael M |

Went to this restaurant for brunch before Pike Place Market. Had a lamb burger which I enjoyed very much.

Excellent and convenient!

By msmaggie6 |

No seating due to Covid-19 so we ordered take out salads and quiche. Best quiche ever and lovely salad with Dijon based dressing to go along with it. SImple and delicious and I’m still happily rubbing my tummy. We will return and look forward to a time when we can sit down and enjoy their full menu. RIght around the corner from Pike Place Market which was way too full of people for us to enter; lots of masks but barely any social distancing.

Come for afternoon drinks

By thejohnsmith |

The 4 of us visited several times because it is just down the street in the "alley" from our Hotel. We visited for drinks in the late afternoon before going to dinner later, sitting at the bar there with a number of snack items, such as the cheese plate with bread, a glass of Prosecco, a local beer or other mixed drink. It is a French restaurant where you can get French food, beverages and desserts. A cozy atmosphere, personable, polite, knowledgeable, attentive staff. We were treated well, seated quickly and waited upon immediately. One day we had the opportunity to stop in the late afternoon and have a table outside. One morning we had breakfast before going out on our sight seeing activity. Eggs, yogurt, berries, coffee, tea and juices, toast, muffins, croissants among other items available on the menu. All in all an excellent choice.

Amaizing Atmosphere and Foodie Option

By Jon B |

Very Close to the public market, a real gem of a find for my family. The food was extreamly well prepared, and Gabe our server was very good / polished! This is a favorite of my family now in downtown Seattle.

Super Service from Victor

By KAButler2014 |

Our first morning in Seattle, up early (Jet lag), we headed to Pike Place. We wanted breakfast and we found Cafe Campagne. Food was good but Service from Victor far surpassed the quality of the food.In fact, before flying on to our next destination we will go back.

Breakfast

By fannybelport |

Delicious breakfast!!! French toast, croissant, baguette & jam in addition to rich wonderful coffee.

Solo lunch

By wonderwoman |

I had the day off so I pretended to be a tourist for a day...and wandered through the Pike Place Market which led me to Cafe Campagne for lunch. I've been here numerous times (brunch, lunch & dinner) and have never had a bad experience dining here. I sat at the bar and ordered a Vesper and a salmon gravlax (open face sandwich) with a side of arugula salad. I was in the mood for a light lunch and it did hit the spot. The Vesper was tasty...perfect for this sunny day. I'm surprised that they do not offer a charcuterie platter for lunch. That would be perfect with a glass of wine. I made the suggestion on the comment card and I hope they do have that on the menu in the future.

Yummy Brunch

By Nanette Z |

Great food! Very fresh full of flavor. Beautiful presentation. Great service. A bit sneaky to find tucked in the corner of post Alley.

Cafe Campagne was our little treasure in Seattle !

By tadpole03 |

Enjoyed Dinner and Multiple Breakfasts! Our go to place many mornings for breakfast before touring. Lovely traditional French food and bistro atmosphere. Outstanding dinner as well with incredible french desserts including the chocolate mousse. The service and the staff could not have been more warm or welcoming even as to offer us other travel ideas! Our go to place in Seattle.

Delicious Food, Quaint Ambiance

By PickyInSeattle |

We celebrated our annIversary there and it was a terrific place to do so. The sole was the special and it was delicious. Also had a carrot/ apple soup that was amazing. The service was very good, as well. I only gave it 4 stars because the portions were very small. I could have used a starch with my small piece of sole and green beans.

Way overcrowded.

By Janette B |

This place is jammed with tables with narrow walkways. I kept getting bumped and hit with purses. Overpriced.

Slooooow

By Rhonda W |

Food was fine but service was the worst I’Ve seen in a long while. Took forever and that was after waiting for a table even though the place had several empty tables. Seriously unorganized.

Delicious, amazing service

By Gwendolyn W |

Awesome brunch. Espresso, french toast, herb omelet were all very good. Right next to Pike Place Market in Post Alley- great location. Our table was ready right at our reservation time.

Great food and service

By Butnut |

I really liked the food and the service as well as the atmosphere. The only thing is, they do run out of menu items even by mid-day.

BEST Brunch ever!

By Marsha R |

If I ever return to Seattle, I will definitely return to Café Campagne for brunch! I am a quiche lover...having said that, this was the best quiche I ever had, made with mounds of Dungeness crab. It melted in my mouth!! Nice location too...outside tables (in summer) overlook Post Alley. And it is just up the hill from the Public Market.

Memorable Lunch

By stephgwebster |

My friend and I are here for a convention and we’re exploring the market on a long lunch. We stopped into the cafe and had such a great experience. Our server Paul was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. We are from PACNW but Paul definitely knows his French wine. I ordered from the prix fix menu for lunch and had a beautiful salad and soup. My friend had hanger steak and fries. Both were delish!!! We will definitely be coming back potentially on this trip!

Delicious

By VACATIONLOVERNewYork |

We were looking for a close but not crowded place and stumbled across this place. Staff was amazing and food was delicious. Had bowl of red pepper soup as well not in the picture that was delicious as well. Go and enjoy.

Quiche is to die for

By OrdinarySpirit |

Had the crab quiche and it was incredible; so creamy and rich - just melted in your mouth with awesome flavors. Tried a dining companion's chicken sausage and it was incredible - so tender and tasty. It's pricey but at least the food tastes great! The service was competent; the atmosphere was relaxed.

You'll Feel Like You're In a Parisian Cafe

By YayeMama |

Busy Cafe Champagne located almost at Pike's Place Market in Downtown Seattle makes you feel like you're in a cafe in Paris. With a handful of indoor and outdoor tables, as well as "bar" seating, Cafe Champagne has a variety of sweet and savory sure to please any palate, along with a full bar. If you come here on a weekend, be sure you have time to wait unless you've made a reservation. We enjoyed the soft-shell crab quiche, lamb burger and salmon gravlax, along with some cocktails.

Great brunch spot

By travels_ahoy |

Popped in for a quick brunch whilst exploring the area. Food was all lovely, and it's a great spot to people-watch.

great atmosphere

By Sarah O |

The food and ambience were great. We really enjoyed our lunch and the escape from the hordes of people out in the street and alley. We were planning on going to a chowder place, but the line was forever long, and there were no seats and I spotted this little cafe and we decided to try it. Everything was great up to the end. I think our waitress got too busy and had trouble getting back to us. We were planning on ordering dessert but decided to skip it when it took so long just to get the check.

Was not too bad.

By Susan |

I visited here to look for a small snack. I was able to seat a bar, but it was a little hard to catch a bartender's attention. Actually a short male employee started to glare at me, once I was trying to order. So I waited a little to find a better server. A female bartender who took my order was very friendly, so I was happy that I waited a little more to start my party. There were not much champaign choice.

Great place for breakfast /brunch/lunch near Pikes Market

By Terri A |

We ate brunch here twice while in Seattle. We were in Seattle to leave on our Alaska cruise and tour of Seattle. Make a reservation and enjoy a very special fresh French brunch experience. The food was delicious and the ambience was special. You are close to Pikes Market and the cruise docking area. We enjoyed it so much we ate here twice. Clayton was our server and did an excellent job, however, all the staff worked together to make the experience special for every customer.

Nice atmosphere & good wine, food quality patchy

By Oscar M |

We enjoyed the bistro style atmosphere in this place - quite cosy & warm & reasonable authentic french. Wine selection from France was also good - quality & value. Food was a bit patchy. Onion soup starter was delicious, but just huge & the crouton / cheese topping way over the top, the duck confit main course was so dry & overcooked that it was too tough to eat, the homemade prune / armagnac icecream was absolutely delicious!

Best calamari I’ve ever had

By TexasArmyNurse |

We came across this charming restaurant on a drizzling evening. Stepping in the door we were transported back to France. Highly recommend the calamari and the mussels. Be sure you have enough bread to dip in the wonderful broth.

Fabulous French food

By sandjgoodman |

We had the best French dinner outside of France and this was better than 3/4 of our food in France. They were very friendly and the ambience was wonderful. It was so good that we canceled our next evenings other restaurant and rebooked for a second exploration of their menu. The Rouge Punch was an unexpected delight as was everything else.

A little French Bistro in the heart of Seattle

By Marvin G |

What better way to enjoy and early afternoon repast either outside at "ice cream tables" or indoors. We came for a late lunch and enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting for our meal to arrive. The menu contained Lamb Burgers, Steak Frites, Duck Confit, and Oeufs en Muerette among other typical French fare. I started out with a salad of spring greens in a light raspberry viniagrette dressing with house-made croutons and then had a lamb burger accompanied by frites with a mayonnaise dipping sauce. My wife settled in for her favorite: moules frites (mussels and French fries). The broth was a creamy white wine sauce that was accompanied by toasted baguettes for sopping up all of that good juice. We heartily recommend this little bit of France transplanted in Seattle.

25 Years Old and Better Than Ever

By Joseph M |

We first had lunch at Cafe Campagne in 1994. It was memorable then and even more memorable today for a long lunch. Quiche, Cassoulet, wines, the works! It was worth the flight out to Seattle just for this lunch. So good that we're going back for Brunch tomorrow. Don't miss it.

Birthday brunch!

By Krisinseattle |

We were fortunate to find street parking - and a table for two at Cafe Campagne. Been here many times over the years and my choice for a breakfast on my birthday. It never disappoints although I noticed the portions were smaller and the tables set quite close. Despite that, the food was good (quiche du jour- tomato/basil and the sausage omelette plus 2 coffees = $39 before tax & tip. Always love it here and service was great.

BEST Breakfast in YEARS

By TomD-DBQ |

Adorable and constantly crowded restaurant a block off the Pike Market. WORTH The wait and price! Food and service were so wonderful and wish I had been able to have lunch and dinner there as well. Eggs were heavenly and potatoes were equally excellent! Service was better than ANY French restaurant I have ever been to. You will never look at IHOP or any breakfast place the same way again!

Ginger carrot soup

By Hsteinmiller |

Our lunch here was very nice. The ginger carrot soup was amazing. My husband enjoyed his lamb burger, though he did mention it was a bit spicier than he expected. Our server was amazing, friendly and attentive. A very nice place.

Summer dinner

By Ted |

Great location with a relaxed vibe, great food and very good service. Had a great meal and would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent appetizer, so-so entree

By KallieRose01 |

We had excellent appetizers (charcuterie board and a sort of flatbread) but the hangar steak was just so-so. We filled up so much on the appetizers that when the entrees came we could barely eat them, which was probably just as well because the meat didn't have much flavor and was extremely tough.

A slice of Paris in Seattle

By Miamethyst |

Food is pretty good, but the cafe outdoor seating brings me back to a french cafe in Paris, they nailed it! We had a nice glass of champagne, a quiche and salad, with were all good! The best part is that it is near everything but tucked away in Post Alley, so nice.

Bustling Sunday Brunch

By LisaPageDesign |

Glad we made reservations for Sunday brunch for two, there was a small line backed up down the alley entrance to this quintessential Seattle cafe. We got seated right away :-). Since crowded, a bit of a wait for our order, but the coffee (SO yum!), the space enough for a quiet conversation, and the delightful service made it fine. OH! The crab quiche! So perfect. ...Let me catch my breath... P.E.R.F.E.C.T.!!! I Although I thought the greens served beside needed a bit more vinigarette to cut the indulgent richness of the quiche, but perhaps that’s just me... Get the side-order of the French-toast to split. (Or just for you if you are extra hungry) A wonderful amount of sweet to top off a perfect savory meal.

Great French breakfast near Pike Place

O.M.G. Eat here

By Kitty G |

This is the best restaurant in Seattle - here for a long time but a hidden gem. The dilemma: RAVE! Go here, but for locals it’ll be hard to get in. Lol Lol Excellent food and terrific service. We are so very lucky to have Cafe Campagne in Seattle. The skilled and charming waiter Jesson, the amazing, educated sommelier Anna, and the beautiful, efficient hostess Lauren (who totally LOOKS French) - some of the remarkable staff. And the food - where to start? Everything on the menu is excellent. Many French classics. The cassoulet is famous during the winter months, but the steak frites (okay, maybe we just get it for the fries…), the escargots, the pâté, the green bean salad…the Creme brûlée - if you have ever wanted French food or are jonesing for it COME HERE!!! Just can’t say enough about this wonderful restaurant. Lovely, lovely.

Most unfriendly staff ever!

My husband and I had dinner in this restaurant and the waitresses and waiters were not friendly at all. We were so disappointed with their attitude! The chicken they served were under cooked and when I told them they didn’t take care! Just because they have a good rating, they think they can be rude and still have their costumers!

You Can't go Wrong Here

Cafe Campagne is conveniently located just a few steps from Pike Place Market. There is a fine assortment of beverages as well as food entrees. The escargot were good but needed a bit more garlic for my taste. The onion soup was one of the best ever tasted. The Duck Leg and Cassoulet could not have been better. The Chef very kindly prepared 4 apple tarts for us to take home to our family.

Stopped for a late lunch and really enjoyed the food and service. Cute little restaurant, authentic menu, amazing octopus.

Amazing French Food

By Wilson L |

We had an unreal time dining here at Cafe Campagne. The service was great and the steak frites were so good. Definitely recommend checking out this amazing French spot if you're in Seattle. Make sure you make a reservation, it is a busy spot, for good reason. Hopefully will be back again soon.

Must come here ! Make your reservation

This place was a true hidden gem in the crazy Pike Place market area. It came highly recommended from friends that live in Seattle. We went for breakfast with a reservation at 9:45 on a Sunday morning. The service was excellent and warm and friendly. The croissant was mouthwatering and food was just amazing. If they have the crab quiche, make sure you get it. It was off the charts. wow. Can't wait to come back here.

My fiancé and I went out to celebrate our engagement with a couple of friends. This restaurant was perfect. The location was great, the attire was dress/casual, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was delicious! Local produce and fish. I highly recommend the Crème Brûlée!

Best Crab Quiche I have ever had

By Sue K |

We made reservations for Easter Sunday Brunch. Although busy, we were seated at our reservation time. Our meals were wonderful. I had the best quiche I ever had- it was light and fluffy. We also had french toast brioche and Oeufs Brouilles. All were wonderful.

Great location; very noisy restaurant; good food

Love the location of this restaurant but it was so noisy I could not carry on a good conversation with our friends. My food was very good - crab quiche and green salad; very good wines. Wish they could do something to control the noise.

A bit pricey but excellent Quiche Lorraine and Cappuccino

By SNB |

Stopped by on a Saturday morning and ordered 2 cappuccinos and a Quiche Lorraine. Quite busy, so without reservations, we were seated at the bar. Capuchino was tasty with a nice foam top and served hot. Quiche Lorraine was light and fluffy and very tasty and served hot so it deserves 5 stars! Salad served with the Quiche was wilted and tasteless and deserves 1 star. Service was good but prices overall are a bit too high.

Not so many. The perfect size. The maple syrup was delicious. Mimosas, capuchino and croissants. What else can you ask for? The service was impeccable Would love to go back!!!

Wish I could give it 10 stars!

My husband and I dropped in on a weekday evening. The restaurant had not yet filled up and we were seated right away. The server was excellent and really knew her stuff when it came to helping us choose a wine. The dinner was out of this world crazy good. We ordered the wild salmon and it came with two salads that paired with the salmon in such a beautiful way. I think this was hands down the very best salmon dinner I have ever had and I've had a few living in the Pacific NW. It was so good that I'm still thinking about it days later. I highly recommend Cafe Campagne and I look forward to returning.
