Our family loved the atmosphere and the delicious, healthy food! We sampled the buffalo cauliflower, the mojo enchiladas, the pizza of the day, a burrito bowl and all were delicious. The juices and smoothies were amazing as well! Cafe Gratitide you are AMazing! We wish we had one in Indianapolis!

Great bowls. I had the humble indian bowl pr dinner. Raw vegan cakes for dessert are good. Would not reccommend the buffalo cauliflower for a starter. Bit spicy and bad texture. Good service. Quite space to eat, nice outdoor area.

Didn't actually realise this was a vegan restaurant but glad we tried. The food was healthy and delicious and staff very helpful and knowledgeable with menu and wines.

This was our first Stop off the plane arriving in LA. Everything we ate and drank was delicious! Easy walk From Cafe Gratitude down to the Venice Beach area. Wish we had time to try the other Cafe Gratitude locations.

Delicious food, but I feel, overpriced. Portions are medium. The menu is extensive, The servers are attentive.

Fresh fruits and vegetables, good dishes. The stunning idea!? Every dishes/drinks has a name, an adjective. You’ll be supposed to order saying “Today I’m “the name of what you want to order”. For example: a salad, it’s name is epic. You’ll order “Today I’m Epic”. Gorgeous! Dishes are very good!

This is a health nut's heaven! So much to choose from, many vegan free options too. The service is good, and some great desserts.

It's so nice to have a selection of healthy and hearty foods to choose from at Cafe Gratitude. Vegan or not you can definitely satisfy even the most discerning palette here. Their bruschetta is amazing and also their buffalo cauliflower. Have these smaller plates as an appetizer to go along with your happy hour beverage! The prices are suited to the quality of ingredients you're enjoying and the flavors taste lovingly prepared and thought out! Their Caesar Tempe wrap is so good I couldn't stop eating it. I didn't even want to talk...just eat!! The staff are upbeat and friendly and the vibes feel really good...like really really good! While enjoying Venice and its offerings I will be a frequent patron here...I can't think of a better place to spend my money and feel good about it!

Had lunch with family of 4, all non veggie. We loved the food, all very tasty and big portions. Good service as well. Would go again as there are so many interesting options on the menu. Wine (French Rose) was nice as well.

Amazing food, great service, fab to find such tasty interesting vegan food. Loved the positive affirmations and the question of the day, got us talking after 30 years of marriage!

We visited this place after seeing excellent reviews on trip advisor. As a typical Indian Traveller with vegetarian food preferences, I long for some change and would prefer something other than subs and sandwiches. When we reached the place, we did not find their free parking easily. So we parked it on the road side little farther from the place. The service was prompt and the waiters were very friendly. The menu options had all the innovative vegan options but nothing that we could understand 😀. So we took the advice from the waiter and placed the order. The drinks were healthy options with unusual mix and match like pineapple and jalapenos. I ordered that one by saying "I am lively". They had the innovative names to their items. However, the food taste was not something that we liked. It was just very different and bland. Maybe that is because we are not used to eating such food. All in all, one can visit this place if they are visiting the nearby Venice Beach for the experience. But not a must visit, if you are an Indian Traveller visiting LA.

Flew into LAX and couldn’t wait to go have breakfast here again. My favorite vegan restaurant in LA. Really love the choices on the menu. Never had a bad dish here. And even went with a non-vegan who was very shocked at how good the food was. Will continue to go for breakfast each time I come to LA.

This is such a special vegan restaurant! It’s for your mind and heart as well as your tummy. The paintings/sayings on the walls are so on point. It’s the best vegan food I’ve ever had. And the question of the day gives you a chance to put down your phone and really connect with the person across from you. Even how you order from the menu is neat. You have to experience it to really understand. Give it a shot!

It offers a lot of healthy choices, and the service was great..a lot of positive vibes...would return in a heartbeat..

Beautiful cafe /restaurant , excellent friendly service. Had a great lunch, and we got a fantastic waiter. The place to go to impress!!

Love Cafe Gratitude, and have been to the location in San Diego numerous times, but tried this on in LA, which was excellent as well. My favorite smoothie is the decadent (cashew ice cream with cocoa nibs), and my favorite breakfast treat is their banana bread. We have tried many dishes and all are superb. Wish they would open a location in Seattle!

disappointed. Came here in the past just came in from Chicago to LA stopped in only to find out that they no longer offer gluten-free buns Even though the menu and the website both say they have them last time we'll stop here

I have not written a restaurant review before but decided to do in this case as this was one of the worst meals I have eaten in a very long time. Both myself and my wife found the food to be stodgy, heavy with the flavors failing to mingle properly. I have eaten in many plant-based restaurants over the years and this was by far the worst. It is a shame as this was our one night out in LA and the reviews suggested we were in for a treat. It is not really in my nature to criticize publicly and do so only in this case to inform others.

Had the I Love You Bowl and immortal coffee. So tasty and healthy. I can't wait to come back again. Wish they would open in Colorado.

Excellent venue, sat outside cool evening warmed by heaters! Waitstaff excellent, each person we spoke with was knowledgeable, proactive and friendly. Vegan menu with an abundance of gluten free options, plus very attentive to any other dietary restrictions. Excellent drinks and we even took home desserts(all gfree)! Great time!

When you find yourself in the area, this is a great place to stop by for a cup of coffee or tea. The drinks are very good, the personel is helpful and the place just looks very nice.

If you are looking for some good vegetarian food. You have to go here. O had a curry bowl which was AMAZING and a mushroom burrito SO GOOD! The rasberry lime cheesecake is out of this world. Plus the atmosphere is so peaceful and welcoming. Definitely a place I want to come back again.

I visited thrice while I was in the US. The food was good - have had more delicious vegan meals in and around LA, but the ambience, vibe, service and quality of food here was just super. I'd definitely recommend the place to people!

One of four locations in LA, this was the perfect choice for us! The menu was very inventive and both our shared appetizer and entrees were great. I didn't have room for it, but ordered the key lime pie (at our server's suggestion). It was worth it! I enjoyed being asked the question of the day (I hope I have that right!) by our server, who seemed truly interested in my reply. Some wines, beers and app's were available at reduced prices during happy hour, too!

The food is outstanding. Everything we took was delicious. The eggplant sandwich, the nachos were probably best we ever had, the bowl was great too. The iron cast cookie was not as good and so the coffee.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is delicious, the people are very friendly, and the atmosphere is delightful. I have yet to eat an item off the menu I did not like, but my personal favorite is the kale chips, I could stuff my face with those and those alone, if everything else was not so good.

This is one of the best plant based restaurants I have visited. My husband and I spent 3 days in LA, and ate breakfast here every day. Really friendly, helpful staff, and fantastic food - what's not to like! We can't wait to return.

I've been there twice during my stay in LA. Each time food was delicious, especially I liked the desserts. Service was super professional, each time carefully asked about any food allergies. Must go for a vegan in LA.

I really like an idea of "I am" concept in menu and inscriptions on the tableware. The food was fresh and tasty. It didn't blow my mind, but for sure it was made with good ingredients and I plan to go back during my next trip to LA. Service is very well.

Visited for lunch as a family group of 5 with an open mind to share all plates so got to do a taste test. We couldn’t believe how tasty each plate was and it was vegan... unbelievable! In addition, all the staff were very friendly in a clean and visually aesthetically pleasing environment. No hippy incense.

Delicious and organic food , good vibes . Vegetarian friendly , had the Welcoming Mediterranean Sampler .

Great way to spend a Friday night in Venice. My husband and I were visiting from the UK and we met with our friend who was there visiting from Florida - we all loved it and will go again next time we're in town! We left with full bellies and good memories. There's an awesome little bar across the street too for post-meal cocktails :)

Lovely spot to grab some delicious vegan food. Many options to choose from on the menu, from bowls to wraps/burgers. The buffalo cauli wings are particularly good. Staff friendly and nice vibe. On the expensive side so good for a treat but not everyday.

One of the best vegan experiences I have had. Cafe Gratitude was the first restaurant we tried out after arriving in Los Angeles and it certainly set the benchmark. Each meal represented a feeling and was a unique experience. Would really recommend the Present (bruschetta appetiser) and the Warmhearted (entree). All of the staff were extremely warm and welcoming. Would definitely visit again and recommend it to anyone visiting Venice beach.

We arrived around 530 on a Saturday night and had no trouble being seated. It was our first time and the waitress told us a little bit about the restaurant. The food was wonderful. As we enjoyed our dinner, the place started to really fill up. The portions were plentiful and everything was delicious. I would highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for a good plant based restaurant.

Bowls are just must! Truly tasty and healthy food! Whole bowl has variety of tastes that perfectly combines. I didn't really liked deserts but it doesn't make the place worse.

This New-Age vegan cafe offers inspiration with its kale. Every dish is named some wonderful virtue and the servers ask you a profound "question of the day" when they greet you. The food is fresh and healthy. Prices are moderate. There is 90 minutes of free parking with validation if you turn at their corner and go down into the parking structure

IMHO, one of the best meals I’ve experienced. “Dedicated” bowl - The tender, fresh baby bok choy, smoky cauliflowered rice perfectly prepared and balanced with tangy sauce. Heavenly. Wishing they open a outpost in NYC.

The waitress was really friendly and helpful with choices. There are many juices and desserts, and SO many vegan and vegetarian choices. I can't wait to go back!

I am not vegetarian and in fact a meat lover. However, I need to admit that the most of the food was quite tasty even for me. I found some items quite dull though. Regardless, I will give a high mark for creativity. Service was excellent and friendly. There was free parking downstairs for the restaurant guests. I would rate it between 3 and 4 but the burrito was so good, it is rounded up.

As a carnivore, I was skeptical when the veggie/vegan team handed me this menu to order from but it was delicious! I got the Enthusiastic (Chicken Fried Mushroom Cap sandwich and fries) and it was really quite tasty! Everyone loved their food - would def eat here again!

Not a vegan myself but definitely love vegan food, especially in places like these! The creative “I am” menu is also a really fun and pleasurable way of presenting/ordering your food. The smoothies are delicious and the place was fully packed when we came, though did not experience any delay in the order, so pretty happy about that. Well done, definitely coming back!

The cafe gratitude as always is so so good. A real variety of options and the quality of food is superb. Big fan of the blue shake, so delicious and different. Service can be slow but gives you time to relax and enjoy.

Was very excited to visit this famous place )) service was nice. Food was good. Nothing outstanding. Nice atmosphere.

We recently spent two days in LA and after having breakfast at Cafe Gratitude, we just had to go back a second time. The special smoothie offer with espresso shots was fantastic, as was the gluten free granola with fresh fruit and almond milk. We also had the Mexican bean dish which was delicious. We would highly recommend this place if healthy food options is what you are looking for.

I searched a place for breakfast near and found this. Real goooood vegan meal. It’s not only a cafe, it’s about lifestyle and health. Must to visit 100%! Best wishes for owners and all employers, who made my morning fantastic!

Came here with my girlfriend for lunch. Wasn't my first time but hadn't been here in years. The food is great but I recommend getting a bowl versus the sandwich options which I find to be quite overpriced. You can't go wrong with their smoothies and desserts.

The best vegan experience, the food is full of flavour, the staff are very attentive and friendly. Also a great authentic retreat from the LA facade. We went 4 times in 2 days.

everything here is delicious. and colourful. you'll have to come back a few times because it's hard what to choose. but if they have the strawberry cake when you visit you should definitely try it.

My son and daughter pick me up from the airport. First stop.....of course lunch and there is nowhere better to get my Cali vibe back then Cafe Gratitude. I love everything about this place. The food, the people, the quality the people watching, the good....make that very good sense of well being. It's so nice to have healthy vegan options. not fried but real food....amazing! I'll always go back. Keep doing what you do.....

The atmosphere is quiet and very friendly. The food is tasty and plenty. The dishes are big and look very good too.

I have to stop here every time I go to California. They have the best food with so many delicious and healthy vegan and gluten free options.

I love everything about this place, from the cool vibe of the soothing colors, to the happy contagious attitude of everyone who works here to the eclectic patrons who appreciate all of the above. This is not just excellent food, this is an experience of food love. They always have a saying of the day which was "what do you love about today?" when were were there and my answer would be EVERYTHING leading with my time at Cafe Gratitude. Yesterday was lunch and I ordered the grilled peach and asparagus salad...still dreaming about it! Looking forward to returning for the Brunch experience today!

I was a bit skeptical about this place but my daughter wanted to go so I went. I usually eat eggs when I go out for breakfast but this place was vegan. We ate outside on a beautiful covered patio which was very pleasant. I ordered a bowl of quinoa mixed with other ingredients and a chocolate mint "milk" shake. My daughter ordered banana bread and we shared. It was plenty for us. True, the food portions weren't huge but we were satisfied. The shake was one of the best I ever tasted. (And the drink was big). With tip it was about $57.00.

We had 2 great smoothies and I had a fantastic Mexican dish with beans. Without reservation but they got us a very nice table and the atmosphere was excelente. Cool people even hollywood stars all tasting a fine, organic nicely done dishes.

Great food here if vegan or not, this is a restaurant with an ethic, daily mantras, particular questions you are left to ponder depending on what you order, you give the answer at the end of the meal. Sounds pretentious, but actually it is done by the waiters with such charm and finesse - go along with it, embrace it. I left not only feeling like I had a gorgeous healthy meal but also left smiling, in spite of my jet lag, the day was brighter :-)

My partner and I visited here after a recommendation. Neither of us our vegan, but this food is absolutely superb. It was delicious and full of flavour with lots of options. I would highly recommend to anyone!

Went here for breakfast on a Wednesday morning and it was delicious. I had the pancakes - see picture - and my husband had the wrap with the chickpeas. Both were delicious. I had a smoothie to go with the pancakes and my husband had the watermelon juice, both very good as well. The place isnt cheap, but everything is very tasty and the portions are nice as well. We would go there again!

I recently visited Café Gratitude Venice and had an amazing experience. The ambiance is uplifting, the staff is friendly, and the plant-based dishes are delicious and creative. I highly recommend the "I Am Grateful" bowl. Perfect spot for healthy, feel-good meals!

Three people for lunch had a fantastic meal. The ambience, the welcome, the service was excellent. I had the Open-Hearted / Buckwheat Flax Pancakes with mixed berries and banana and it was just among the best pancakes ever. So, whenever I'm in Venice, I know where to eat!

We came to Cafe Gratitude to celebrate a special occasion—my son had just won a tennis tournament, and we brought my mom for her first visit. Unfortunately, what should’ve been a joyful meal turned into a frustrating and awkward experience. My son was excited to order the chik’n & waffles. The menu doesn’t mention powdered sugar on this dish (it does for others), so we didn’t expect it to arrive covered in it. Because of dietary restrictions, we had to send it back—which meant my mom ate alone while the rest of us waited, including my hungry son. When the replacement finally arrived, the waffles were raw inside—doughy and clearly undercooked. There was little explanation and no sincere apology. We were told it could be made again, but it would take longer because they had to prepare new batter. At this point, we’d been sitting for an hour and a half with still no food. We ended up leaving, with only my mom’s meal comped. No one else ate. We received what felt like a “rolling apology,” but the overall service was inattentive, and the food quality was shockingly poor. I’ve been a fan of Cafe Gratitude since the original Berkeley days, but after this, I won’t be coming back. Really disappointing. What happened to the place I used to love?

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is modern and the energy is positive. The menu is diverse and tasty! And the service was great. They have a topic of conversation to start the table off with a conscious thought and that’s probably my favorite thing about this place. My juice was fantastic and my experience overall was amazing! Can’t wait till I’m back in LA! 😍

Delicious vegan food, big size portions and quick service. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We sat out in the balcony where heaters provided perfect temperature. We found easily a parking space on the street. Coffee was good as well.

The company I travelled with made a reservation during Restaurant week. We were eight at the table but they kept on bringing food for only 7 people. The food was ok, had brussel sprouts as starter, they were nice but after about 5 out of 30 it was monotone. Nice enchiladas and good desert. Good atmosphere as well.

I was visiting from London for a work trip. I popped in and it was terrific. I highly recommend. The food was fresh, staff friendly and they were incredibly well presented and the venue was super hygienic!

Boracay & LosAngeles near Hungry Monkey Good MorningSavor the best of vegan cuisine at Cafe Gratitude, the premier vegan restaurant in LA. Enjoy our organic, plant-based meals that nourish your body and soul.

I enjoy so much in this place. The place is so nice and the staff is really friendly and they are always ready to make you feel comfortable in the place. The dishes are so good and taste amazing! They gift a cake birthday cause it was my birthday and it was a really cute detail :)

My daughter being a vegan , she took me to this place a few times ! Every time the food is really good not like other vegan restaurant that I tried , it is always very tasty, I had the Fiero today : excellent , she had the eggplant panini: very good too .. the services is always excellent , no wait , inside very nice and outside too if warm enough ... love that place , never let down !

Absolutely awesome place, full of love and deliciousness! I had the original burrito with a side of maple coconut bacon, and it was insane! A little pricey but more than worth it for the most amazing vegan food you'll ever have! 100/10

Excellent food, great prices, server was prompt and helpful. Only suggestion is to ask if we would like more coffee. Sat there for an hour and a half and never had a refill of a regular coffee. Other than that the food was really good, decent portions and a low key casual atmosphere. I will for sure go here again. It was an hour wait, but that was fine, we looked around at shops and they said to stop back in an hour. We where then immediately seated.

The food was absolutely delicious!!! Wish there was a Cafe Gratitude in NC. We went to brunch every day while visiting CA. Highly recommend!!!

Great service, very good food and the employees are so nice!!! u should visit it! you have to wait a bit but the food is fresh and warm.

Food and ambiance were wonderful. I had the roasted tofu bahn mi and it was delicious. Great place to visit if your vegan or vegetarian 🌱

We couldn’t get an outside table for lunch so waited as we had a dog with us and were told it would be a 10 minutes wait. After 30 minutes we were getting hungry so decided on a take out instead. Quicker option for us and tasted delicious.

Wonderful menu with tasty, healthy options and great names. Just reading the menu items fill you with gratitude. I had "Humble", an Indian Curry Bowl with garnet yams and my husband had a Burrito that he can not wait to go back and have it again. Save room for dessert because they are amazing.

Cafe Gratitude is so cute and uplifting. I love the way the menu is set up, the decor inside the restaurant, and the little details on the plates. My only regret is that I came here when I wasn't too hungry. There were so many things I wanted to try but I ended up getting the eggplant caponata, which was made with gluten free quinoa pasta shells and had Brazil nut Parmesan on top. It was simple yet delicious and everything was cooked to the right point. For dessert I tried the key lime pie and it did not disappoint. Everyone else's meals also looked amazing and I really want to come back here and just start going down the menu. This is the right place to bring your vegan friends or your gluten free friends or your vegan gluten free friends.

A great spot for vegans and for omnivores looking for variety; especially good for a group of vegans, vegetarians and omnivores since there are choices that all adventurous eaters will enjoy. For omnivores, the soups, salads, roasted veggies and casseroles work better than imitations of classic carnivore food like the burgers which, although edible, are less successful. The spicy dishes are mild; if you want vegan hot, local Indian restaurants do better, albeit with mixed menus not strictly vegan. If you do all your shopping at strictly "natural" vegan outlets or Wholefoods, the prices should not seem particularly high. There's a limited but reasonable variety of beers and wines. Many of the staff earnestly adhere to the mystical spiritual holistic vibe of the menu but most also have a sense of humor. Tables for 1 to 20 can be reserved. The Rose Cafe down the street is probably better for watching Venice Beach beautiful people at lunch but, for an outing in fine evening weather with international visitors, a walk past muscle beach, beach volley ball, surfers, hawkers, skateboarders and homeless to have dinner at Cafe Gratitude capped with a movie star sighting makes a quintessential LA experience that is hard to beat.

I’ve given Gratitude Restaurant several chances, hoping for a better experience each time, but it has consistently let me down, both in service and food quality. The most disappointing aspect has been the treatment I received from the restaurant manager. On multiple occasions, their attitude bordered on disrespectful and even degrading. Rather than addressing my concerns with professionalism and empathy, the manager seemed dismissive and uninterested in customer satisfaction. It’s incredibly disappointing, especially given the restaurant’s supposed ethos of “gratitude” and kindness. As for the food, it’s far from the quality you’d expect from a “healthy” vegan restaurant. Many dishes tasted bland or unappetizing, and one time I was served food that tasted like it had been fried in very old oil. It was a strange taste and made me question the kitchen’s cleanliness and commitment to freshness. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Gratitude Restaurant. It lacks the basic standards of hospitality, and the food quality is simply not worth it. There are far better vegan options in the area that genuinely care about their customers and the quality of their food.

Food was excellent but our party of five left somewhat hungry. We ordered various appetizers and we each had different bowls. The food was flavorful but sparse, and for the amount a little on the pricey side. Most likely won't return.

You'd never know you were eating so well with this delicious menu! One of our family's favorite restaurants!

Very good vegan options. Nice service and atmosphere. A lot of options from light to a full on heavy meal.

Cafe Gratitude was my first all Vegan experience! I took my brother who is a not Vegan and he liked it. We shared the Nachos witch had plenty of toppings from beans to guacamole! I had the Original Burrito, which had mushrooms as carnitas, mole coloradito, guacamole, cashew nacho cheese, black beans, brown rice, pico de gallo and tortilla chips. When I took the first bite, I seriously thought I was eating meat! The texture and flavor where exact as the real carnitas! I had to ask the waiter if it was Vegan because I couldn't believe how close they got to the real deal. My brother got their special which was a Hawaiian Pizza made with pineapple and coconut as bacon. It was also delicious! I also had their warm Mayan Hot Chocolate and it was great! Last but not least, I had the Tiramisu for dessert. I was expecting it to be sweeter than it was. It tasted healthy and not much of a dessert. It seemed to have been made raw from cashews and other nuts. The waiter asked how it was and even offered to bring me something else, since I didn't really like it. I don't like to waste food so I ate it all. It can get pretty pricy as my ticket was over 80 dollars for myself and my brother but it was well worth it!

Loved the food, the atmosphere was cool and options for vegans where excellent. I'll go back for sure next time I'm in Venice.

Wonderful breakfast with wife and kids - the ambience in this place is beautiful but the food is what will make me come back 👌 Best breakfast I've had in many many years. You considering where to eat in Venice, CA? Consider no more - just go here.

Fantastic! I visited in the late morning. Disgustingly kind staff and great vegan food. Did b'fast right!

I am not from LA and was visiting a friend who took me here. It was actually my first vegan restaurant experience and definitely a good one. We got the cauliflower wings for an appetizer and I got the nachos and my friend got the kale Caesar salad. The food was deliciousAnd the atmosphere was perfect. We sat outside so we could also people watch and since it was chilly they had outdoor heaters going to make it more comfy. The service could have been more attentive but it was also a busy day. I would definitely go back.

First question we were asked was what are we grateful for today. We had brunch, started with booster shots then very healthy and delicious vegan dishes. Awesome tastes and great ingredients.

The food is tasty, healthy and makes you feel good afterwards. Their drinks, elixirs and shakes are phenomenal, as are their deserts. There is a small take out area on the side of the entrance. Reservations can be made online via Open Table or you can call them directly. We have celebrated many birthdays at Cafe Gratitude. The waitstaff seem very enthusiastic about celebrating and they sing a lovely tune while bringing a birthday sweet. The environment is beautiful, inviting and open. The restrooms are also very clean. They have free validated parking for up to 90 minutes. The entrance to the underground parking lot is on 5th Avenue.

Great selection of vegan options loved the smoked wrap, and the vegan cheesecake was absolutely delicious.

It had been years since I visited cafe gratitude last, love it as always, so so grateful for the variety of options and the superb quality of food. I am a big fan of WHATEVER that blue shake is, so delicious, so creative and different. Thank you cafe gratitude, don't go changing!!

We travel from Australia and the quality of food in USA can be a miss sometimes. We ate here 4 times over a 7 day period so we could eat the whole menu. The biggest endorsement is my 7 and 4 year olds smashed their kids menu. Pasta shells with marinara and vegan cheese, the nut butter and banana wraps etc... For me the Mexican bowl with half brown rice an grains was amazing. The nachos made me believe the dish has never needed meat ever. The lentil curry bowl with sweet potato was delicious. We were very happy to eat here and would recommend for anyone.

Loved all of the food. Hearty and creative. It was really enjoyable. Coconut 'calamari' -- so good. The only downside was that service was not that attentive for refilling water or taking our order -- but the food was worth it. It was wonderful to see a vegan restaurant packed.

Amazing experience. Glorious ambiance, superb service, delicious food & drink. Highly recommend this restaurant. Coconut calamari is a must try!

I’ve been indulging for most of my trip to Los Angeles and Café Gratutude seemed like the way to go. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing. The staff were lovely and my meal was delicious. I highly recommend the I am Humble plate. So so good. I wish I’d left room for dessert. I’m sure everything on the menu is delicious. Outdoor seating was very pleasant as well. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is 10-min away from Venice beach on Rose avenue. Nice atmosphere, lots of dishes for vegetarians and vegans, and pretty nice drinks too! We got a corn soup and a humble / Indian curry bowl - both my wife and I found them delicious! Very kind staff, which is nice too. Only minor negative note - they would not accept payments with debit cards.

A friend brought me here and I’m so glad she did this place is a goldmine menu service and thought provoking question of the day makes you stop and think about life.

I'm always very satisfied when going to Cafè Gratitude. The food is super good, tasty and healthy. The personnel is kind and generally cheerful. Great vibes going on there! I remember once I ordered one of their juices, but unfortunately I didn't like it therefore I didn't drink it. I was ready to pay for it anyway but the waitress asked me the reason why I left it there and she didn't charge me the juice. This is what I call great customer service! Thank you:)

The "I am..." concept is catchy, very friendly staff, warm atmosphere. Not far from Venice ocean walk.

So while on honeymoon in LA my vegan wife and I arranged to have breakfast at Cafe Gratitude. We arrived right as they opened and parked underground in this very upscale luxury apartment building in Venice(they validate). The restaurant was impeccable and the menu was amazing. A clever naming of the menu items made for a fun affirmation to start your experience. For example... I'll have an order of generosity with a side of forgiveness.... plates also had affirmations... but it wasn't just a gimmick... The food is delicious albeit pricey. Definitely worth a try.... also affiliated with 100% plant based "Gracias Madre" which was so packed we could not get in.... Great ownership group. Wish they were in Houston.

We have been travelling in the US for a month now & have been disappointed with the vegan options available... until now. Great restaurant- great vegan food - great service- great for kids

Excellent little vegan spot near a Metro Bike stop. Really unique! You say an affirmation to order your meal. They give you a question to discuss at your table. Ours was “What are you grateful for”. We topped off our delicious meal with some immune boosting fresh pressed shots of lemon, turmeric, ginger, cayenne & oil of oregano! Would definitely go out of my way to eat here again!

This is a go-to I continue to come back to, time and time again! Parking: Free parking in the structure below the building with validation. Sometimes street parking. Vibe: Low key. Outdoor patio is lovely. Dog friendly outside. Food: I am obsessed with the Grateful Bowl. You can't go wrong with anything. All is healthy and delicious. I also love the soups. Drink: Wine and beer.

Not quite easy to love if you do not is familiar with the vegan menu. Especially for breakfast it can be a challenge. However, fresh ingredients, prevalent staff and relaxing environment

So bright, so delicious and totally all vegan. Not being Vegan I was presently surprised at the different textures they were able to create. Made with love good strong menu, fantastic fresh food. If you looking to try something new or you are vegetarian or vegan than this is the place to be. Great service wonderful smiles and the service people knew their menu so all our questions were answered. I highly recommend a visit.

Awesome, wonderful, ... we had a wonderful brunch at Cafe Gratitude. The taste was awesome, healthy, ... We will come again as soon as possible!!

Very nice atmosphere, drinks and food that got presented in an awesome way by the great staff. I am Mucho😊

I’ve never had a meal I didn’t LOVE at various locations of this restaurant (Santa Cruz, San Diego, and formerly in SF and San Rafael). This time was no different. I always order too many dishes because I know they will be packed with flavor. This time we had the Yo Soy Fuerza wrap which was delicious and managed to not fall apart at any point. I ate the whole thing one-handed - the way any wrap or sandwich should be made, IMO. The fries that came with it were fantastic as was the side of buffalo cauliflower. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go, just to try it, and although it’s not as big and beautiful-looking as some, it packs a lot of flavor and has the right texture. This is a great stop for anyone vegetarian or vegan. They’re not trying to duplicate non-veg dishes, but rather they create veggie dishes that stand on their own merit.

I decided to give Café gratitude another try. I am not vegan, but I approached it with an open mind. I had the daily special, which was a lovely polenta dish. But overall, I felt that something was missing. And rather expensive.

Oh my goodness... how fabulous is this place? Probably my favorite vegetarian restaurant in LA. I don't think I've ever had anything here I don't like. I love love love the curry (Humble). The juices are wonderful! Actually I'm realizing I could just go on and on. But I love this place! It's very light and airy in here. The vibe is lovely. The staff are kind. I love that they have affirmations with their food. I love that they give you a question for the day to think about. If I could I would eat here every single day! It's not cheap but it's excellent quality and you pay for that.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, delicious and healthy food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

I've wanted to try out this restaurant for a while and since I was in Santa Monica for a 5 nights stay, I couldn't resist. The host, Harry, who greeted us and showed us to our table was great. Not only was he welcoming but it's always good to see a fellow Englishman make the move across the pond. We ordered breakfast. I went for the burrito and the Cool smoothie. The burrito was generous, delicious and filling. Also, 10/10 for presentation. The Cool was exquisite and full of flavour, could've easily drank another 3 or 4! Our whole table enjoyed their breakfast and it wasn't too much damage on my bank account either. The service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed it so much, we returned for dinner a couple of nights later, trying out the Mucho bowl which was absolutely fantastic. Can't wait for my next trip out west, this place is a must.

I have to be honest, I am not a really healthy eater. I do well in stretches, but my overall eating habits lie in the pie graph titled, Poor Eater. As such, even though I knew what I was eating was really healthy, that in no way made my eating experience a positive one. Don't get me wrong, the food was prepared perfectly, with attention to detail and presentation. The issue I had was that it was so healthy, that it tasted rather bland. I'm used to saturating my palate with food that has more texture and taste. Granted, those are probably chemically induced, but at least I left the restaurant feeling sated. I left Café Gratitude feeling like I needed a sugar fix or perhaps a burger. On top of everything else, the portions were very small. Between the small portions and the generic taste of my entrée, I was very disappointed. Even my drink, some kind of ice tea concoction, was so healthy tasting that I found myself taking resentful sips so as to help get my food down. My sister on the other hand, was is much more self-actualized when it comes to healthy food choices, really enjoyed her dish. She seemed happy and content. I asked her if she was faking it in order to make me feel crappy about myself, but she assured me that she really liked her entrée. There is a definite hipster vibe to the place. Being more of an aging hippy, I couldn't quite assimilate myself around the restaurant's energy. Our wait staff was nice, earnest and took the time to explain the menu. He obviously wanted to make our experience a good one. Would I come here again? No. It's just not my thing. I don't mind eating healthy, but I also want to have the choice to add things to my order that don't necessarily fit within the category of healthy.

Cafe gratitude offers the most healthy, best tasting food. The menu is great with lots of choice and its really fairly priced for the nutritional food they serve. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito. Healthy, vegan dishes perfect for everyone - great selection of teas, coffees, fresh smoothies & juices too, all home made! I can't wait to come back!

Had the acai superfood bowl and it was great. An absolute must!!! The ambience and service was great too.

I love a good vegan restaurant. This hits it out of the park. And the concept of talking or writing about what you are thankful for is cute. Tasty and clean and delicious. Love this place and cannot wait to go back!

I'm not a vegan and normally I don't like vegan food. But this place you don't even notice they are vegan, the food is flavorful and delicious. And the vibe is happy and hip. A "must-do" on your Venice Beach check list 🤘

be prepared to order your meal as an affirmation. As in, "I am [insert name of dish]." Felt like a scene out of Woody Allen's Annie Hall. You don't have to do it that way, but it is suggested. Aside from that, the space is open and fresh; Google HQ nearby probably has an influence. Everything is gourmet-quality and it was a paradisical vegan experience. Be prepared to drop $50 on lunch without alcohol for two.

Café Gratitude in Venice offers a refreshing, intentional take on plant-based dining — one that balances nourishment, creativity, and warmth. The menu is vibrant and focused, with standout dishes like the cauliflower steak, tempeh wraps, and seasonal bowls that highlight whole ingredients without overcomplication. Flavors are clean and well-executed, and the presentation has a sense of care without being overly precious. The beverage offerings — from cold-pressed juices to herbal tonics — complement the menu well, and the space itself is open, airy, and welcoming. It's a place that encourages mindful dining without sacrificing pleasure. What sets this location apart is the service culture. Staff are knowledgeable, positive, and genuinely engaged — the kind of team that seems to believe in the restaurant’s mission. While not every ingredient is strictly organic, the kitchen clearly prioritizes quality sourcing and allergen awareness. Café Gratitude is not just another health trend — it’s an experience grounded in consistency, hospitality, and purpose. For those seeking food that feels good in every sense, this place delivers.

I have eaten at almost all the Gratitude restaurants and this was my first time at this location. I was not disappointed. I took a friend who had never been to a Gratitude restaurant and he was quite pleasantly surprised at his meal. He now has a go to for his vegan and health conscious friends. The smoothies are a bit pricey, but well worth the flavor and variety. It’s health in a glass for sure. They offer parking in the garage behind the building which is nice in Venice where parking can be difficult. It’s a nice 10 minute walk from the beach.

The food here is outstanding in presentation and taste. The chef here has mastered the art of melding flavors so that each complements the other. I am a carnivore but if I could eat like this every night I'd be 100% vegetarian/vegan To boot, the coffee is delicious. The menu touches upon various parts of the world: Mexico, India, Asia, USA, and Italy with style. The servers are professional but friendly. Great place to hang out with friends.

Cafe Gratitude was wonderful. We walked in as a group of 8 at around 9pm on a weekday and the place was hopping. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The portions were large, I got a wrap and was able to take 1/2 of it home for a later meal. Highly recommend.

This place was absolutely fantastic. We came here late one night after an improv show and we were all (7 of us) very satisfied with our meals. We all got the bowls except for two of us who got the enchilada and veggie burger. Serving sizes are adequate and the strong mix of so many delicious flavours in one dish made my palette quite happy. This is a place I would definitely come back to.

Very good vegan restaurant. Clearly popular with the locals. I went there three times while in Santa Monica. I had the fried mushroom burger, a burrito, and a flight of healthy shots - all good.

A couple of days before, I ate at Millennium Restaurant in Oakland with Michelin award which calls itself the #1 vegetarian restaurant in the world. I found the food to be so bland, I wondered if I had just made the mistake of being an omnivore in a vegan environment. But the food at Cafe Gratitude was bursting with umami rich flavours. So tasty, by any standards. Even for an omnivore. So well done Cafe Gratitude. You are awesome!

Came here and it’s a lovely cafe with a great decor and friendly wait staff. The menu has many options, we went for the Caesar salad and the Caesar wrap. They were both very nice and filling. I had a nice matcha latte with almond milk too. Would recommend eating here if you’re in Venice close to the beach and looking for a good vegan cafe. Price isn’t cheap but nice as a treat.

This is so far the beat place with vegetarian dishes. I had the burrito and the jack fruit they used to substitute chicken was so real I could not tell the difference. Food was great! Place is clean, hip, but not so much the street it is located.

I'm not vegetarian but was taking a vegan friend to lunch and thought we would give it a try. While my friend was excited about everything on the menu, even a non-vegetarian should be able to find something tasty on the menu. Go out of your comfort zone and you will find something different and tasty.

The ambiance of this restaurant was beautiful! The concept of the restaurant is beautiful and always ask for the Question Of The Day! I ordered the Original Burrito and my boyfriend ordered a pesto Panini. Portions were small. I was more satisfied with the appetizers.

Cafe Gratitude was just around the corner from where we were staying on our visit, so thought we would try it out. It had a lovely covered outdoor area and the food was tasty, however quite expensive. I would definitely return, however there are so many other options nearby to try out as well.

I visited Cafe Gratitude off a recommendation - thanks Nico. The meal I had is easily in my top 5. I had the HUMBLE with the GLOWING juice and finished off with the JOY truffle. Shannon took care of me from start to finish and her service was first class. The meal was so good I bought the cookbook! There's also a question of the day so watch out for that. I am grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend Cafe Gratitude

We went for breakfast and ordered the chilaquiles which were amazing!! The service was great and the place is so cute! I highly recommended and would definitely go back!!

We got takeaway and thoroughly enjoyed our rosemary and squash dip with ciabatta bread and the eggplant salad which came in a roll. Very popular place.

The food here is really nice even for meat eaters. My wife gave this 5 stars and loved it. I still enjoyed it a lot despite not being vegetarian. Definitely worth a visit. We were there midweek and easily got a table. Had the curry and Californian blonde lager. Nice

Best Vegan Restaurant we ever had! All the food was extremely fresh and tasty .. Service was okay staff was accommodating We’ve never this kind of vegan before ..

Nicely done for Vegans and foodies on vacation in Venice/Santa Monica...very professional staff and food presentation...not cheap mind...funky cafe over the road is a perfect alternative...we did both several times Please open up a Cafe Gratitude in England...ideally Manchester!

This is a blessing in a bowl. The idea is to focus on your blessings and select a dish that fits your thoughts. The meals are in bowls with a wide variety ingredients. A vegetarian would really enjoy this place.

A friend of mind refers to this place as cafe attitude. One is asked to to state what one is "grateful for" before ordering...no, really. I am vegan. I do not enjoy cooking nor do I cook well - I can throw together far better meals than available here. If you enjoy overpaying for tasteless, tiny portions of food and being surrounded by gals with yoga mats and couples with children that are above needing manners, you'll love it here.

went with friends for dinner and loved it. my son is NOT vegan, not even vegetarian (which we are) and he fussed and said "I'd never have gone if I'd known it was vegan" BUT when he had the food he said it was great and he really enjoyed what he had chosen! next night he recreated his muchos bowl at home!! success! I love eating here!

One of my favorite pit stop coming il L.A. Vegan and tasty, friendly and cheap. Gratitude is necessary, thank you!

My friend and I stopped by for a late breakfast. You can order breakfast food or lunch food, the menu is varied and interesting. You can order a large or small of most things on the menu. We ate the avocado toast and sea weed salad, both were outstanding. We each had a type of tea, turmeric frappe, and a ginger tea, both were yummy. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and service is good. Parking is on the street.

We met my brother and his wife here for a quick bite to eat. The food choices are interesting and what everyone had was delicious. The suggestion from the waitress was a perfect selection.

I went here with my family and I must say that even my non-vegan family members were impressed by how delicious and filling vegan food could be. Perfect amount of food, left me feeling satisfied without being overly full. Would visit again!

We had an excellent breakfast at this cheery eatery. A bright, modern dining room, professional and friendly staff, an innovative menu, and outstanding coffee. What's not to like. Highly recommended.

The food is veeery unique, but in a good way. I think it's just vegan/vegetarian but nevertheless it's delicious and healthy. Everyone was surprised and loved it! I can only recommend it. I would have loved to try all the other meals as well.

I love Cafe Gratitude and their food. Besides their food they have a lot of other options such as smoothies, juice shots, muffins, herbal tonics, tea/coffee etc. the list goes on and it's all vegan! (Some honey) The location is perfect and so it its interior- light and clean! Definitely a go to when you're in Venice! :) (They have other locations too)

They knew the menu, offered great recommendations, and cared about guest feedback. We’ll be asking for the next time we visit.

I've been hearing about Cafè Gratitude for a while and I was curious to give it a try. I happened to be in LA in October just for 3 days and a friend of mine who's based in Los Angeles invited me out for dinner. i didn't know where she was taking me but when I found it out I was just so glad that she picked Cafè Gratitude. The place is absolutely lovely, we ate outside (which made it even better) and ordered some super tasty bowls. The food is very yummy, I have nothing to complain about expect for the waitress - very kind and at disposal, I would say too much... at some point she kept interrupting our chat to check if we were okay... like, every 2 minutes. Kindness and guest care are appreciated but that's a bit too much. I would definitely recommend Cafè Gratitude and I'l definitely go back there as soon as I'm in LA again.

Not my usual restaurant type choice but I have to say the food and service is very good. We had sandwiches that were delicious and substantial for the price - help are very pleasant.

Have done veggie around the world. This place makes the top ten. But beware the detox cause they will clean the pipes.

I had the most delicious wrap ever here, it was the Glorious / Blackened Tempeh Caesar Wrap. It also had 'bacon' on it and seriously that bacon was beyond good. I had the wrap for dinner and it was more than enough. I can only dream that this place will ever come to Europe. If I'm ever back in LA then I'm definitely coming back to this place.

Stopped by for lunch and was impressed with the interiors, menu and staff. Don't miss the Golden Latte- I am addicted.

Great food, super service by Fabien and decorated to ensure a clean laid back super casual meeting, eating spot. I guess that is why it is anything but cheap, you pay for all the above Enjoyed Cafe Gratitude alot

What a great idea! First time there but I’ve heard it’s consistently great! Very fresh food and friendly staff. Happy they served Boochcraft too! Wish y’all were in the east coast!!

Being a vegetarian, I loved the place..food variety was quite good..nicely made and great in taste. Ambiance is also quite good..location too is a plus.

We had a wonderful vegan meal. So delicious!! Also, so wonderful to find so many gluten free meals and desserts! Will definitely go back. Please open a restaurant in Colorado.

Great menu. We were there for breakfast. We loved the shots. Mashed Avocado. Will definitely be back.

Very bad food, very friendly service but terrible food. We ordered chicken burger and I didn't bring chicken. I brought something fried in strips that wasn't chicken.

We enjoyed our dinner here. It's a great place to get vegetarian food. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and fresh. We even enjoyed the reasonably priced wine. I would suggest the nachos, sweet potato fries, cauliflower and phyllo with veggies, and grilled polenta.

Vegan Place, Excellent concept, menu and Service The atmosphere is very convivial, Friendly Staff, Great Vegan Options + Desserts.

Love their happy hour and boochcraft kombucha! It's pricey, but almost everything is organic, vegan and high quality.

Got some takeaway for dinner. Quality and flavours were excellent. We got rosemary dip and a salad bowl.

Friends took us to this one yesterday. Sat outside first, a bit chilly, then inside. Nice, but no atmosphere I would travel for. My wife loved her lentil soup and the nachos. I had the burger, which I loved. After my stroke last year, fries are a treat I am only supposed to have now and then - and then they better be good. Sadly, these were not. They were soggy. I did not eat them, and the waiter did not care. Then: the desert was excellent. All in all, it was simply not good enough to go again, let alone take a detour (mandatory with me to get five stars). A little more attention to detail in food and service, and I might go back.

Its a favorite restaurant - at any of their locations - because its not just food, its an experience and almost meditative. I haven't had a bad entree here and love experimenting knowing full well its safe to eat anything and everything here. My favorite however is any of their bowls. (Eclectic) Buffalo Cauliflower has been a go-to of mine for years as the flavors are always consistent and runner up is the (Ecstatic) Roasted Brussels Sprouts which is always outstanding.

I waited 10 minutes for a chai latte only to discover the barista never had been given my ticket. Ok that happens but when I eventually got my $7.30 chai latte it was the most disgusting chai latte I have ever had. I couldn't drink more than two sips. It tasted of bitter dish water and had no chai flavour whatsoever. Plus you get about half the quantity that you usually pay $3.50 for in other non-pretenious places. Not to mention there was no seating available. A total rip-off in every conceivable way. Looking around whilst waiting you can't help notice that the food which is also over-priced is the kind of thing you rush together at home without thinking anything of it. Yet here is supposed to be some kind of special treat, and to boot the pastries looked terrible, small, hard and over-cooked. All the trendy open-plan cooking is done by an army of Mexicans and the clientele is mainly clueless yuppie white people who clearly don't know how to cook or understand how much things really cost. Essentially this is a soup kitchen for over-privilleged idiots who can't be bothered making their own breakfast and would rather have the "help" do it for them, and pay out of their overblown pay packets for the service. It amazes me how this can be rated number one, style over substance and using the "cool factor" clearly reigns in the dim-witted inhabitants of Venice Beach but that is hardly surprises me. If you have a brain avoid.
I AM Broke!
I had heard so much about this cafe that I had to visit on my recent California trip. I love the concept and the freshness of the food. We were a family of 4 and enjoyed smoothies and buckwheat pancakes for breakfast. I was shocked when the bill came out. Most expensive brekkie we've ever had... was nice though.
