Huge ice cream!!!! I had strawberry cheesecake and Oreo. They were very good. I recommend these ice creams.

What can I possibly say, my husband is Diabetic and wanted some sugar free Ice cream, they didn’t disappoint there are two flavours Salted Caramel and Chocolate Popsicle, he had the Chocolate which he really enjoyed. I had the Strawberry Milkshake which was really nice. The staff are really helpful and welcoming x

BOTTOM LINE: If you can’t make decisions quickly, look up the menu in advance! Cute ice cream place in the Gaslamp District. Stopped here after dinner and were surprised by all of the flavors to choose from. We did need to wait 20 minutes to get it. Once in and waited on, things went quickly. We all got cones and they give you a massive amount of ice cream!! I got a single and on the East Coast that would be considered at least a double!! I personally got the Cookies and Cream and there was nothing special about it. Average. The cookie chunks were nice but that is common nowadays. I did ask for sprinkles and the girl literally took a tiny spoon and poured it over the cone. I think there were maybe 10 sprinkles on my cone 😂 The banana was pretty good as well. There was plenty of outdoor seating which was nice. And, they give away cute little cones to your furry pets so feel free to bring them along!!

I saw this on IG and decided to try since I was downtown this weekend. It was pretty good for ice cream. I didn’t think it went above an beyond what ice cream should be but it was decent. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again. Cute signage.

Ok, so I must admit that every time we’ve been near Cali Cream there has been a line that has discouraged us from stopping here. Until this night, that is! We walked up and it was a wonderful sight to behold. No line and no wait! I guess the trick is to go during the week one hour before closing time. We were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member (by the receipt it said her name was Meg but I don’t know if multiple people were using that register) and she soon realized we may need a few minutes to look over the plethora of flavor choices available at Cali Cream. The three of us made our choices of Double Flavors - one of us had the waffle bowl and the other two had waffle cones. Note - they pile on the ice cream so next time I would either order one flavor or split a two flavor with someone because it was ALMOST too much for me to eat. I managed but my stomach wasn’t thrilled about it. And honestly it was a steal at $7.75 each. Ice cream is super fresh and creamy. I had the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough along with a Honey Toffeenut. My companions tried the Apple Pie, Banana Cream Pie, Vanilla Brownie and Vanilla Chocolate Chip. We each tried all flavors and no one was disappointed albeit the pie flavors are not typically something I would go for. We took our ice cream and sat outside where we watched others go in and come out with big smiles on their faces with their orders. We will definitely be back - just can’t tell too many people the trick about going during the week an hour before close! :)

Large variety of flavors. We had a flight so we could try 4 flavors and all were delicious. Staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable. Great place for that ice cream craving or simply a refreshing snack. Would be here frequently if we lived in San Diego.

Great selection of flavors. Several choices of cones, milkshakes, ice cream cake and so on. All homemade and super creamy. All seating is outdoor and there are a lot of homeless people hanging around so be prepared. You order at the counter and take it outside.

Very delicious locally made ice creams. It was very hard to choose, given the number of flavors they have. The ice cream was creamy and full of flavor.

I am not entirely sure they have had their official "grand opening" just yet, but they are serving up 50+ of their hopefully soon to be 70 flavors. I enjoyed the Root Beer Float and Mint Oreo flavors. Really great if you are on Market street or headed to an afternoon Padres game. The only reason I hopped on their "I need to try it" bandwagon is because I saw them putting up the window stickers/ads a while back. I had to track them down on social media, and I truly hope they are able to step up their social media game as offering 70 flavors is unique, but there is lots of competition in the downtown market for ice cream and desserts.

Expect to make this one of your favorite places for ice cream. Cali Cream opened about a month ago in the Gaslamp Quarter. It is a great addition to the neighborhood. The list of flavors is mind boggling. There is a choice having your ice cream served in a waffle cone, a waffle bowl, or a paper cup. The portions are generous and importantly the ice cream is creamy and not icy. The flavors are rich. Prices are reasonable. Closes at 11 PM.

Amazing ice cream, up with the best I’ve had. I asked for recommendations and was told to try the strawberry cheese cake and it didn’t disappoint. We did a flight which wasn’t much more than a double scoop but let us try 4 kinds. It was way to much for us in size but glad I got to try the flavours. They had a huge variety of flavours and service was excellent. High recommend.

Unpopular opinion here (apparently) but I didn't really like this place. Maybe I just got the wrong flavor, but I just wasn't a fan. I had the one flavor in cup of the Almond Joy. It was waaaayyyy too sweet. I couldn't even finish half of it. I also thought it would be vanilla ice cream but it was actually chocolate. That brings me to my next point. I wish each flavor had a description of what it actually was. But they have so many (maybe too many) flavors to choose from that if they did that, it would take everyone forever to read through it. I also wish there was less ice cream (said no one ever) but the one flavor is actually two scoops of ice cream. I just assumed one flavor meant one scoop, so feedback for management - maybe lower the price and make a one scooper.

I'm an old guy, and I have had some very good Ice cream over the years, McConnell's in Santa Barbara, Leopold's in Savannah, Teatro in Rome, and Ampersand in Fresno. This was as good as anything I have had anywhere. On top of that, they have about 70 flavors. You have to go by the descriptions on the menu and advice from staff since the Ice cream is not on display. It's all stored well behind the counter in chest freezers with solid doors. Between the two of us, we tried three flavors, all wonderful. They are still getting settled in so it wasn't too crowded. That will change by the end of summer I'm sure. If I can offer a suggestion, I would like to see them offer flights of three or four very small scoops. With so many flavors, it's hard to choose.

I think there is 70 flavour and it tasted amazing. They just opened and offer generous portions which is nice for once. My wife and I loved the ice cream. We wish we would of found this on day one.

Great variety of flavours and lots of gluten free and dairy free options. Really kind, helpful and chatty staff! Would return!

When I found out my usual downtown ice cream store was closed that day, my brother-in-law and I decided to try Cali Cream. HOLY SCHNIKES!! It's perhaps the best ice cream I've had - ever. From the friendly staff, clean and open storefront, the abundance of choices (No, you CAN'T have too many flavors to choose from), to the exquisite mouth-feel and flavoring of their ice cream, Cali Cream is a clear winner. I understand you and I hardly know each other and you don't have the same taste buds as I do, but if this isn't the best ice cream you've ever tasted, send me your unfinished bowl/cone and I'll eat it. Seriously, it is that good! Just Go!

We went to Cali Cream for dessert after our dinner elsewhere. The establishment is very popular and the line extended out the door onto the sidewalk. There system is pretty efficient and the wait was not that long and it was well worth it. We got single scoops that would have been doubles in most other places. There were so many flavors including some we did not know. We are just visiting San Diego but would be regulars if we lived here.

This is a popular place. It had quite a long line outside. The ice cream is very good and there are a number of toppings to choose from. They have some outdoor seating.

There were so many flavors! Mostly traditional. My favorite was orange chocolate- rich but not too rich. Big servings! Very chocolatey. Great service

This place is amazing. They might be a tiny bit slow, so there might be a line out the door. But it is worth the wait. This place has dozens of homemade flavor options. We happened to be there in spring and they had several Girl Scout cookie flavors (thin mint, Samoas, etc.). My personal favorite was coconut cream pie — with little bits of pie crust in the ice cream! We will absolutely return whenever we are in San Diego.

Great selection of ice cream, great service, friendly staff. We only tried a few flavors and they were good and great. The vanilla was slightly too sweet for my linking, but the milk shake and the other flavor (I forget which) was well liked. They have little children's cones which is excellent for toddlers and generally small tiny children.

Cali Cream gets everything right. There’s a variety of flavors, many of them novel, but none of them are weird - they all seem like good options; no bacon-flavored scoops here. The consistency is perfect, too. This is rich, thick ice cream that is still soft and creamy, too. The challenge is that there are so many good style choices: cones, cups, shakes, cookie sandwiches and more. But even here, the solution is the “flight,” four huge scoops of different flavors. At just $7.25, I assumed it would be a spoonful of each, but it’s large enough for 2-4 people, making it a great value in addition to being a great way to sample more flavors (birthday cake and salted chocolate peanut butter caramel were my favorites).

Oh god, it has got so many flavours to choose from. You can try different flavours before buying one. You get choices of variety of cones and cups. yummy ice creams. they have got few vegan flavours as well which is great.

My husband and I had heard really good things about this place, but unfortunately we had left town by the time they were reopened from COVID. During one of our recent trips back to Cali we were randomly in the area as they were opening and knew it was fate that we must try them! Boy oh Boy we are so glad that we did! At their downtown San Diego location they have over 70 different flavors available that they make in house!! All of their ice creams are egg free and they even have dairy free options. One cool thing we found out was that the milk they use has a 7 day or less cow to machine time!! That means they use the freshest milk around!! They even use pecans from a local farm and are made fresh just for them! You can tell the owner “scoop dog” takes pride in quality and customer service. As we were there ordering a “regular” walked in and was inquiring about a custom ice cream flavor she wanted to have created for her husband who would be coming home from the military and she wanted to surprise him with it. The owner said he’d come up with a special batch just for him! How cool is that? Because there was so many flavors they have the option to do flights of ice cream... so of course we had to do two flights and a regular scoop. The flavors we got were as follows: Bourbon pecan Give me samoa Pistachio Red sky Kahlua espresso Graham central station Key lime Elvis Peanut butter salted fudge First off a regular scoop of ice cream is legit massive!! Probably the same size as a double scoop somewhere! Second…all of his names legit taste as described. The ice creams were all super creamy and had their own unique flavors for each. Our favorite hands down was the graham central station. It is legit life changing. Its a graham cracker flavored ice cream which is absolutely heavenly and taste like you’re eating honey graham crackers. Theres even a little crunchy grit from the graham crackers, delicious crunchy honey comb pieces for more honey flavor and bits of chocolate. When you go this is a mandatory flavor that you must get!! We will definitely have to go back to try more flavors. Take your family or just take yourself and get a flight of ice cream so you can have some fun!!

So many flavours, my husband and I shared a double which was plenty for the both of us - the ice cream was delicious and it’s a super busy place. There was a food tour right before us. The decision is not whether to stop, rather its how will I select my flavour??! Good luck!

We were actually on a walking tour and passed this place and our tour guide said, "That's the best ice cream I've ever had!" Hmmm.. so at the end of the tour, we went back because, who doesn't like good ice cream! Well, I have to agree 100%. This was not only the best ice cream, but the BEST service! We walked in and looked like a deer in headlights. Cortez, was SO friendly and explained it all. Welcoming us, telling us it was a family owned business and being patient as we decided what we wanted. Customer service is as important as the product you're selling. They nailed them both!!

Happened to come across Cali Cream one afternoon and decided to stop in! Yum! Glad we did as it was so delicious and creamy. Wish Kansas had a CaliCream. Lots of delicious flavors to choose from too.
Yum!
Stopped for a treat. Had the mocha coffee and the mango sorbet. Soooo good! Service was great. A must stop at place. We will be back before we leave.
