Relaxed Atmosphere

By Sandy G |

We had dinner at Campagnoio with friends, we found the atmosphere to be relaxing, the server was very good (Frenchie), the food was average with midtown prices (high). The Lasagna was tasty but nothing special, scallops good but small portion, the pork meal was very bland and disappointing. I will say the dessert was very good, if I go back to this restaurant I would get coffee with dessert, and enjoy the midtown atmosphere and skip the meal.

Awesome casual Italian spot

By PHXJeremy |

The outdoor space at this restaurant is nice - not imposing, intimate without being overcrowded. The food came out quickly, and was well presented. The real selling point here is the owner - she's a DOLL. She saw me travelling alone and made it a point to personally greet me, make me feel welcome, and introduce me to "regulars." Can't say enough good things - I'll definitely be back.

Fabulous experience all around!

By Stephanie D |

My husband and some friends had dinner here recently and it was an amazing experience. The entire staff was so very friendly and helpful - especially our server, Lily! She was a delight and made the evening very enjoyable. As for the food -- oh my, everything was fabulous! We started out with 2 appetizers: calamari and pate and both were superb. My husband had the lamb and I had the scallops. Both dishes were beautiful plated and very tasty. I will say that the lamb was far better than the scallops -- which were excellent, but that shows you how REALLY good the lamb was. We had tiramisu for dessert and it was luscious! I highly recommend this restaurant and my only small criticism would be that the noise level was really high and it made it a little hard to hear. 5 stars to the chef and staff -- thanks for a lovely evening!

Great Food and PianoMusic

By Demetrios S |

Really, really great food. We started with the calamari and ended with the fish stew. Pear martinis are excellent and Robert Ray on the piano is wonderful.

Competing marginally with other ATL cuisine

By REES C |

It was Dogwood Festival weekend, so maybe they weren't at their best. But the maître d' confused the number of our party (just us two) with the time of our reservation (6P), and scrambled around the restaurant for ten minutes, trying to find us a table for six. Our waiter was helpful and pleasant, obviously well-experienced. But the food was disappointing. The tomato soup was too salty despite being otherwise bland, and the mussels were too sweet (even though sweet vermouth was an ingredient - not for diners who really like mussels). My beet salad was an impressive exception, very fresh and skillfully prepared, and the wine offerings were great. But my wife's fish (their special) was flavorless, as was the orecchiette which was substituted for it. They seem eager to please, so we'll go back. But we'll be hoping for better. . .

Uneven but Way Busy!!

By ATLconsultant |

We had a very uneven experience there. We went for brunch last week (my first time there for brunch!). We had long wanted to go and try this place out, ever since it opened. Finally we had the opportunity. We started with the bloody mary and peach bellinis. Both were quite nice. Refills are only $3 for each! My partner had the shrimp 'n grits and i had their take on an Eggs Benedict (with mortadella instead of canadian bacon). Both entrees came out cold. I don't mean lukewarm -- I mean cold. Our waiter -- God bless him -- had a gazillion tables. He was so swamped. This place really needs to hire more servers -- this was our biggest complaint. His name is EJ and he's really very nice and a very good server -- he was just way in the weeds. The plates were probably sitting in the window with no heat lamp for possibly 15 minutes. We finally signaled him down and he came over to check on us. We told him they were cold and he took away promptly. He also offered to comp us a round of drinks while we waited for the recooks (pleasant touch). In about 6 minutes the manager came from the kitchen with our entrees again. This time both were piping hot and he apologized profusely (nice touch). The food, itself, was pretty good. Was it amazing? No. The breakfast potatoes had zero salt on them and no salt or pepper is offered on the tables. EJ had to bring me a little saucer of salt, so that I could eat the potatoes. But, with salt, both entrees were good. It also was very affordable and had a nice vibe to it. We'd come back for brunch again, but will go earlier in the day when it is less busy. Ditto for dinner -- an early 6:45 dinner would be best. I'm fearful that dinner service would be badly staffed too. I hope this place makes it and sorts out the wrinkles. It's the best thing to go in that building ever -- surpassing even the Big Red Tomato bistro. This place is owned by the same group that own's Henry's down the street. Henry's also has good gastropub food but also suffers from Badly Staffed Server Syndrome.

New York Class Italian Fare

By Liz N |

What a treat! Our first visit, we were treated like a king and queen at the bar by the ever amazing Benny. The second visit, we wanted to have dinner at the bar. The owner of the restaurant kindly asked one of the regulars to move and offered him a drink. Only in NC have I seen such professional style. Our third visit, there was no room at the bar and we were allowed to sit at a table with a great view of the piano bar and we didn't even confirm if we were ordering food. We were still treated with style by the waitress. Never mind the great entertainment at the piano bar.Never mind their amazing hanger steak or lamb masala as well as their most popular lasagna.

Nice Variety of Italian Dishes

By HHMR H |

We love Italian food, and personally my favorite to try when out is lasagna. I was not at all disappointed at Campagnolo! The atmosphere both inside and out were conducive to conversation. The server was attentive and despite being busy the wait time for our food was minimal.

Yummy

By resha_rue |

Ive been here twice. I like the outdoor seating. The drinks are great and the food is yummy. I havent been there for brunch yet. Im going to try that next.

Nice Dinner in a nice part of town

By Timbo9 |

We enjoyed a dinner at Campagnolo a traditional italian restaurant in Midtown. Food and service very good and on a nice night like we had, sitting out front was good. Worth a visit if you are craving something different from southern food.

Good Italian

By DiverBob_7 |

My wife and I ate dinner here and had a nice time. The staff was friendly and our waiter was attentive. My wife had chicken picatta and grilled cauliflower and I had the lasagna. We both thought our meals were very good. It was supposed to rain so we sat indoors but they do have outdoor seating.

Amazing brunch

By Maria G |

I loved my Mother's Day brunch at campagnola. I had the steak and eggs that came with wonderful potatoes. I wanted to try the pasta so I had the cappellini for my dessert. My children loved the chocolate cake.

Good solid food

By Harold F |

Generous cocktails with bery solod Italian food. The meats and seafood are more reliable tjan the pastas, but a great enivoment especially out on the patio.

Great Italian dining experience!

By Jason A |

This eclectic Italian restaurant offers some of the most well prepared Italian dishes in the city. Try the gnocchi and the Arugula salad! Always service with a smile. The piano can be a little loud when the restaurant is busy. Make sure you call for reservations as seating is limited.

Great modern Italian restaurant.

By kbatlanta |

Hats off to the amazing transformation to this tired location that once housed the big red tomato to a stunning modern, but unpretentious beautiful neighborhood restaurant with an excellent patio. Very reasonable prices, great staff, excellent food. Been several times and it never disappoints. Try the mussels.

Basic Italian

By sammen89 |

The decor and interior of the space is great, the service is solid, but our pasta tasted like it was stored in plastic for a long time and then recently reheated or something. Pasta did not taste like it was from scratch. I'm glad I went once, but I probably wouldn't go again.

Who needs Italian spices when you have lots of salt?

By KhobChaiLaiLai |

I've honestly had better Italian food at the chain restaurants. Management needs to take a look at what is happening in their kitchen and to ban the use of salt... we could barely taste any other flavor. They should also look into some way to absorb the sound in the dining area as it was virtually impossible to carry on a conversation or even hear our server. The low ceiling makes the noise level a virtual din even on an evening when the restaurant was only 3/4 full and there wasn't even any music playing. It looks like a romantic choice... but we were eager to pay the bill and move on. The one-star rating is a bit harsh until you also factor in the midtown price.

A nice dining option in midtown near Piedmont Park

By Jim W. |

A group of 4 of us had lunch here on a Saturday around 12:45 p.m. On the day we went, it was only about 50% full at that time, and we had not made reservations. It may be more crowded for lunch on other days or for dinner. Parking: the main shared parking area for several adjacent restaurants and bars is behind the restaurants. You can access the lot from either 10th or Piedmont. The lot was fairly crowded when we went. I would recommend exiting the lot around the right side (facing Piedmont) rather than squeezing between restaurants. This place has patio seating, but it was quite warm the day we went. They have tables and a bar up front and booths down a few steps towards the back. The booths are quieter. Our server was very good; prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The manager stopped by later to check on us also. As for the food, it was good also. The portions were not huge (no leftovers) but everyone finished the meals and were not hungry. Two of us had the cappellini (which we liked); the other 2 had more brunch-oriented options (a quiche-like dish and something based on grits?). The wines seemed a bit pricey. Overall, I really liked this place.

Quaint, relaxing & delicious

By Todd & Ernie |

Go on a nice night to enjoy their patio! The food is fresh and tasty. The risotto balls are outstanding as is the arugula salad. The tables are a little close, but it gives it a Café-type feel and the people are friendly. In the heart of Midtown, you'd expect the crowd and staff to be very gay-friendly and you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back.

Atlanta visit

By Kym C |

We went here on a the advise from our host at the inn we were staying in. Food was great and close to the place we were staying at.

Perfect new, Italian spot in Midtown, ATL!

By PacHeightsTraveler |

I visit Atlanta several times a year for work and love hanging out, staying and eating in the Midtown part of the city. There used to be a fun, Italian restaurant at Piedmont and Tenth called the Big Red Tomato. Loved it....more for the crowd than the food. Food was basic Italian. This restaurant closed many years ago and a string of ho hum spots took its place. Finally, an amazing new Italian restaurant just opened called Campagnolo. I heard about it from a friend and checked it out, dining at the bar on a hot, sultry Monday night. Right away I new I would love this place. Great decor, perfect lighting, and a excellent bartender were the first clues that this will be a great new addition to Midtown. I had the arugula salad and soon-to-be famous lasagna. Both amazing and perfectly prepared. I met the very friendly owner and complimented her on the restaurant. She was so gracious and comped my yummy glass of Malbec. This is now my new, favorite ATL restaurant!

Tim from Michigan

By TimSimpson1 |

The best lasagna I've ever had! Wonderful service and Miss Alice sets the perfect atmosphere. We were in town just for the weekend and we went back a second time. The gospel piano player just made our night!

Great locally owned neighborhood restaurant.

By MDHAtlanta |

Great neighborhood spot for some great Italian food, great service, and really good drinks. In the warmer months, their outdoor dining patio is the best. Very reasonably priced and the bar can be lively complete with piano.

My go to Brunch Spot

By Michael W |

I have family in Atlanta and I regularly visit ATL. I go to Campagnolo just about every time am in town. They have one of the best brunches around. I always get the sausage frittata

Pleasant and worth it

By Jonathan L |

Nice food nice ambiance indoors with a pleasant outdoor patio to watch the action on the street. This is a nice alternative when you want someplace nice, but not precious. Weather it's friends, romance, business or by yourself Campagnolo works. I guess you can say it's civilized. Pleasant wait staff, very good food and a full bar.

20th Anniversary Dinner!

By Ilovekoalas99 |

Hard to get answer on the phone so I highly recommend calling the manager Alice or emailing her, for dinner reservations. She gets back w/ you promptly & once you arrive, she also makes sure you have an awesome time. We used a Groupon & it was SO worth it! $60 dinner which was FAB & spent additional $30 on a nice bubbly. They had us in private alcove since we were celebrating & it was a magical evening we won't forget. Left happy & ready to enjoy a concert @ The Fox, then spent the night @ The Ritz-Carlton! Highly recommend!

Italian Gem

By VMVMadison |

On Saturday, October 20th, my husband and I dined at Campagnola. This was our third visit. Consistently the food has been delicious, the decor is relaxing and attractive, the service excellent, and the prices reasonable. The Host sets the tone and expectation for the dining, and this Host does it well. In so doing, he sets the expectation for enjoyable dining. Food Recommendations: Calamari, prepared fried or sauteed. Our choice is fried, and it is perfectly prepared, lightly breaded and flavorful. This visit, Mr. Ibn, the Server, recommended Bucatini with black pepper bacon, spring peas, ricotta butter and mint. The dish was a winner - molto delizioso! Consistently, the Lasagna Matta with fresh pasta (and, the pasta really and truly tastes fresh), beef and pork bolognese, béchamel, mozzarella, and parmesan is heavenly. The Tiramisu is the perfect end to the meal. The service at Campagnola is consistent in its excellence, but, on this occasion it was superlative. Mr. Ibn exemplifies all the qualities essential in his profession - perfectly. He is friendly, sincere, helpful and attentive - and - he made us, as customers, feel special. Well-done Mr. Ibn! Thank you Mr. Ibn and Campagnola for pleasurable dining.

Update my review, food went down hill

By kbatlanta |

Although to love the atmosphere, I stopped going to this restaurant when the food quality went down hill. And for frequent guests, they sure didn't care that the meals were bad. They lost a frequent customer

Excellent italian cuisine

By James B |

Very cute small italian restaurant in Midtown. Delicious, authentic, Italian cuisine with a great wine list and very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and cute patio.

Enjoy your pasta and wine here

By jeross1313 |

Called ahead and made reservations- it was raining therefore had to sit inside. Great seating outside. Truly enjoyed having to show my vaccination card so the workers and customers would be safe from COVID. Enjoyed beet salad, cream based pasta with Rias Baixas Albariño and Barbera from Piedmont. Enjoyable crowd and wonderful and efficiency service

Flavorful Food & Excellent Service & Reasonable Prices

By VMVMadison |

My husband and I dined at Campagnolo on Saturday, August 4th about 5pm. It was our first visit. I chose it because of the high ratings on OpenTable. We were not disappointed. Excellent service. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. Attractive, simple decor offering a peaceful respite. The Server, Dale B., was friendly, helpful and attentive. Recommend the Calamari (We chose to have it fried, and it was perfectly breaded and seasoned.), the Meatballs, the Lasagna (Mama mia! One of the best I have tasted.), Chicken Picatta and Tiramisu. Highly recommend dining at Campagnolo.

This place is terrible

By Con L |

I gave it two tries and it was awful both times. In fact I only went this time because a friend gave me two choices and this was the best of the worst. So first, they asked me if I wanted a cocktail or glass of wine and I said I'd like to pair a glass of wine with my meal and could someone help me with the selection. The waiter didn't know what that meant so he asked around and found some guy that thought he could help but he hardly instilled confidence so I passed and had a beer. I had an app of pate that had so much fat added that I couldn't stomach it. The lamb was OK, at least it wasn't overcooked but it was hardly exceptional. Oh....the server brought the second course before he cleared the first course and didn't even apologize for his error. Apparently I was supposed to bus my own table? They also have valet parking but it was around the corner. It would be helpful to have a sign out front to tell people. It’s apparent to me that this place is full of a bunch of amateurs and I’m not sure how they are still open.

Wonderful Find

By Jasper2356 |

Had dinner there this past Friday. Awesome food and beverages!! Great little gem hidden in Midtown!!!

Relaxed Midtown Italian

By William B |

Relaxed midtown Italian eatery. Great place to go to with friends for a meal that won't break the bank. The arugula and pine nuts salad is tasty and not overdressed. Their interpretation of lasagna is unique with thin pasta, bechamel and a peppery afterbite. There's a nice selection of reasonably priced wines. It can get busy on the weekends and you may be entertained by some singing at the piano.

First time visit, good experience

By Barnesms |

This was my first visit to Campagnola and I would go back. Pleasant space, good service, good food. Had a nice basic arugula salad to start and then Dover Sole with cauliflower and a side of Brussels Sprouts for the main course. Quite well done and very enjoyable. Worth the visit, and will be back.

Cute place, average food

By andy m |

Second time to Campagnolo and just not impressed. This is a cute little place near heart of midtown. It offers al fresco dining which is the best part. However, someone needs to tell the kitchen about the benefit of using seasoning! I found the calamari which is served in a watery tomato sauce to be the most boring I have ever had. For my main course, I tried the pasta with homemade fennel sausage and broccoli rave. Again, it had very little flavor. Just a bowl of "nothingness" with a few chunks of bland sausage, sliced tomatoes and broccoli that was so limp it was almost embarrassing. Much better places to go in midtown!

Great selection, wines are pretty expensive

By Zoli K |

We had a great dinner here. Selection was great, service was great. Though I needed to send back my steak for cooking to my taste as it was raw and not medium. The wines were very expensive, and some was quite a disappointment,

Just about ok

By Yolande L |

Ordered a bottle of wine but it came in a carafe so no idea what we actually got. Salmon was undercooked but manager was in denial about this. Server was good though

Ehhhhh

By Dennis D |

This restaurant looks so nice and I was so looking forward to go there, too bad that it was a just ok experience. Average food, average service.

Wonderful restaurant!

By Lizardliz96 |

Wonderful neighborhood gem! Food was excellent- especially the pasta! Service was great! Can't wait to go back!

French Toast!!!

By FreeFlyinCass |

Hubs and I visited Campagnolo over the weekend for brunch thanks to a ScoutMob deal I'd purchased. We arrived after the brunch rush was over so the place was pretty quiet. Damien was our server and he was very accomodating. The deal started us off with a Bloody Mary for hubs and a Peach Bellini for myself, both were tasty (ordered a few refills even.) We then received a couple slices of the Lemon Ricotta French Toast, which was delicious! Hubs ordered the Campagnolo burger and enjoyed it, the bite I had was yummy. I ordered the sausage frittata which I thoroughly enjoyed, the sausage was quite good. My frittata was huge so I ended up taking half with me and ate it on the way back to Savannah. We're moving to Atlanta in a month and I'm sure Campagnolo will be in our rotation if our experiences are always like our first time there.

Now this is good food!!

By Gary B |

I've eaten at Campagnolo a few times, but not in the last 18 months. Went with a friend and we had dinner at the bar. Major + that they require you to show a vaccine card or proof of a recent negative COVID test! Started off with the Pear Martini...excellent! Had the beet salad and ribeye steak. Both were excellent! As comparison, the ribeye steak at Serena in Colony Square is $48. The ribeye steak at Campagnolo is $28 and it could not have been a better cut of meat or better prepared! I'll go back on this trip to Atlanta and definitely again when I'm back in 6 months.

Great neighborhood Italian Restaurant

By Frank M |

Food and service were very good. The menu selections were to our liking. Although a somewhat limited wine and beer selection we were very pleased with the offerings. The staff did very well despite Corona season.

Wonderful food, friendly service

By Nancy D |

We walked here our first night in Atlanta, tired from the drive and hungry. The menu offered many wonderful options - we split the antipasto plate and the Fritto Misto - a delightful melange of seafood, lightly battered and flash fried so it was still juicy, tender, and delicious!. When we told out waiter we were evacuees from Florida (hurricane Irma), he smiled understandingly and offered us a free desert. Only one of many time Atlanta made us feel safe and loved.

Charming, wonderful Italian Restaurant

By juleebug |

Wonderfully friendly waitstaff, who made appropriate recommendations. The squid ink spaghetti with prawns was delicious and complemented the calamari appetizer perfectly. Highly recommend!

Disappointing

By LuckySpivey |

The waiter was indifferent and mildly condescending, which did not set a promising tone for the evening. The trout was over cooked, the Lima beans were not well seasoned. The lasagna was good, and the pear martini was excellent.

Wow wow

By wayne t |

Best meal the 4 of us has had this year! Started off with a remarkable calamari app that was served in a rich tomato broth with sliced green onions and garlic. More than one comment about licking the bowl clean. Dinner was an amazing array of excellent seafood. Ciapino that could have served 2, halibut with acorn squash and scallops on polenta wrapped in bacon the were remarkable. All of this was topped of with the most wonderful Panna Catta, light fresh and like eating a dreamsicle. We will be back many times just too darn good to pass up. In a foodie city like Atlanta this quaint restaurant stands on the shoulders of the big boys.

Delicious, simple italian

By Paul K |

Pleasantly surprised by quality of overall experiences at lunch and dinner. Tasty menu, good service, nice atmosphere, good value.

Exceptional meal

By suz |

Ample menu and wine list in a lovely setting. The lasagne is superb and chicken piccata perfect. Arancini appetizer best ever. Service could be more professional but food superior.

Delicious & Delightful

By Barbara A |

4 of us enjoyed Campagnolo for my Birthday Celebration. Alexander was a great server - quick and offered suggestions. Appetizers, All 4 meals, drinks and dessert, were delicious! Very nice Atmosphere ! Valet parking easy!

Happy hour

By Tripsnek Lady |

We ended up going for Happy Hour on Friday and stayed for dinner. Very good lasagna. Great wine menu and service. Valet parking by Zocolos.

Great Italian Food in the heart of Midtown Atlanta

By Henrique V |

Great food and ambience. I suggest sitting inside for a more intimate setting. The artichoke app was delicious. Both pastas were incredible!

Wonderful outdoor seating

By SuE0526 |

Our first night in Atlanta we walked by and were seated outside at this place. Great food, nice staff - highly recommended!

Wedding night dinner

By Shannon B |

Food is excellent & the staff was just lovely. It was a fun atmosphere with a piano bar starting at 9pm on a Friday. Highly recommend as a gay-friendly establishment.

Perfect Midtown dining spot.

By Marycbgc |

Pros: on a weeknight, you just may be able to find "street parking"; otherwise, it's valet. Good wine, good food. Quiet, but not dull, environment. Menu just adventuresome enough for me, a non-adventurous diner. Clean restrooms. Attentive service. Cons: attentive service. Though the place wasn't nearly full, we sort of felt like we were being rushed out of there. A little more "alone" time would've been nice.

Amazing food and friendly staff!

By lah86 |

This was an amazing experience! Our meals were delicious and so were the desserts! Making it better was the top notch friendly service! Not one thing to complain about!

Overpriced and bland

By TravellerAmbler |

This seemed like a nice hidden neighborhood gem but the following let it down: - Service was poor; the waiter didn't seem to understand the most basic of guest requests (on one occasion he blamed an English accent) - The food was bland and overpriced for the quality claimed with some dishes missing advertised ingredients - There were exactly zero vegetarian options on the menu - The outdoor furniture was unsafe and caused a tear in one of our guest's clothing. The manager initially verbally offered help but no help was forthcoming It seemed like the restaurant was aiming for the elite but missing the mark. They need to work on the basics first, like improving their level of customer service.

Great little casual restaurant

By Justonemoreholiday |

We are staying very close and tried this for dinner last night. We sat outside and whilst there is no view and a busy street, the food was great and the atmosphere bubbling. I had the Lasagne and my husband had the chicken (mine was best) plus wine and coffee. Portions are large so no starter required. Our waitress, sorry cannot remember her name but she is French Algerian, was really good and attentive. Recommended.

Beautiful dinner in support of the Atlanta Community Food Bank

By Butch |

Excellent service experience and a nice job with the food. Good pork shank and pastas. The Risotto was creamy! The staff told us about the history of the building and were happy to support the Food Bank!

Great patio

By Jon K |

Visited Campagnolo for dinner on the Sunday after gay pride, so that would probably not be the same experience as any other Sunday. As you can imagine it was very crowded, but we had a reservation, so no waiting. We sat outside on the large patio, which was great on a beautiful night and good for watching the crowds go by from Piedmont Park and elsewhere. Given the crowds, we still had really good and friendly service. I ordered the lasagna for my meal, but was then told about 15 minutes later that they had run out of lasagna noodles. That is a first for me. They made it with spaghetti noodles instead and it was good, but was basically spaghetti, not lasagna. Again,I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. We had enough of the crowds, so we skipped dessert. If I lived in Atlanta, I would probably frequent Campagnolo's patio. My Sunday visit was not a normal one, so again, they probably deserve at least 3.5 stars and the benefit of another visit.

I don't always give 5s...

By Alex |

But when I do, it's when they overall rock :) This place has done a great job at tying in value with exceptional quality. If the weather is nice, steal a patio seat and start off with any of there great drinks. But for the love of Da Vinci, get the burger and onion rings. With a price tag of $11, you cannot go wrong.

Try This Place

By NancyCarolLifton1995 |

Five of us had a Friday night reservation. We were shown the table immediately inside the front door (on a chilly night) and 2 people in my party balked. The host told us to have drinks at the bar for about 15 minutes or so and then we can be seated in the back. My party (not me) balked at that too. So, we took the table. And, you know where this is going: had the best time! The service was great, Michele was a doll. The food was delicious, the wine perfectly priced, and the atmosphere super fun. I will admit the noise level was high but on a Friday night at 8pm, I think it's to be expected. All in all, if I lived in the neighborhood, or that state, I would visit again.

Great Al Fresco Dining

By janaroo22 |

Our family decided to dine here for a late night dessert. We ordered cheese cake, bread pudding, and wine. The desserts were excellent-we ate every drop and the service was very good. The restaurant is quite beautiful. We will dine here again!

Delicious from salad to dessert

By Penelope C |

We visited Atlanta for a wedding and made a reservation at this restaurant for about a dozen of our family to gather the night before. We were divided among three tables inside in the front, which was comfortable but we could really only converse with those at our own table. The service was very good and the food was delicious. I had arugula salad, scallops and peach dessert - and enjoyed every bite!

Good meal --

nice patio. The waiter was attentive but didn't convince me to order one thing over the other. I guessed and ordered trout which was good.

Surprise find of quaint and cozy neighborhood Italian in ATL Midtown

By Bullzfanzclan |

We were recently staying at the nearby Loews and stumbled across Campagnolo in among the many Midtown offerings. While we were looking for something simple, and the restaurant's ambiance suggested that, the food was surprisingly superb. We started out with an antipasti with a flair. In addition to an ample and tasy assortment of meats and cheeses, there were southern pickled okra, green beans, figs and nuts in honey to add a sweetly unique taste twist. Following that my bride ordered the capellini with homemade meatballs which was both savory and rich without being heavy or overbearing. I ordered the orecchiette with house-made fenel sausage, broccolia rabe and cheese. It was light but perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed our dishes so much that, before we were finished, we ordered the lasagna matta to share. I can say it was one of the best non-traditional lasagna dishes I have ever tasted. Our service was warm and attentive and, in all, we greatly enjoyed our dining experience. We highly recommend and will return whenever in the ATL.

Fabulous Food / Amazing Entertainment

By tomseverson11 |

OMG!! What fabulous food. This place has turned around from what it was a year ago. You want great Italian Food when you go to Atlanta this is a must. The manager Alice has made this place a palace. I had the lasagna and it was the best I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of lasagna through the years. We decided to give this place another chance and are we ever glad we did! Not only is to food fabulous the entertainment was exceptional. We had such a good time on the Friday night we went, we decided to go back on Sunday. It was a highlight of my trip to Atlanta!!! Thanks again to the wonderful piano players both Friday and Sunday. We enjoyed every minute. Make this a must place on your Trip to Atlanta!!

worth a trip whether lunch or dinner!

By fielder30064 |

Tucked into a corner at 10th and Piedmont (you have to valet to get parked at all!) is a real gem. Chef Daniel Chance seems to work magic on his Italian dishes with lots of fresh, seasonal ingredients. Mushroom carpaccio was a surprise, as was the wonderful desserts (favorite was house=made pistachio ice=cream sandwiches...one will feed several!)

Very busy but excellent dessert!

By PTTraveler89 |

My boyfriend and I went to Campagnolo for a special occasion. Our initial impression was great! The decor was simple but very nice. We tried to sit outside but they were very busy so instead, we were seated right in front of the kitchen which was great because we got to see all of the dishes come out ahead of time so we could pick what we wanted to eat! Promptly after sitting down, our waiter came and introduced himself and served us water and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. However, this was the only "prompt" thing about the evening. They were swamped and we saw many meals that sat under the heat lamps too long. Our appetizer, the antipasti plate was amazing! The entrees, flank steak and salmon were not that good. They lacked flavor. We ended the note on a high note with the chocolate torte. That was amazing! If I were to come back, I would only get appetizers and dessert and wait for a patio seat.

Consistently Great Food and Service

By CobaltConnection |

We have dined here before and have continued to be impressed. Excellent service. Great food. Perfect atmosphere for people watching.

Breakfast

By Summer H |

Stopped in for breakfast/brunch before heading back to SC. Had a very lovely waitress with great service! Steak and eggs were amazing as well as the huge portion of French Toast with fresh berries and cream. We will be back next year!

Great location, mediocre food

By Qute |

I was so excited about having this new place walking distance from my home. The location, the ambiance were both amazing. Service was also very good. Unfortunately, the food was not great. My order was the risotto, which tasted like oatmeal. It almost had no flavor and you could only taste the pumpkin/cinnamony flavor. I could not eat more than two bites. I had to send it back. I re-order a lamb marsala which was good but not good enough to come back.

My 3rd visit

Well, the service has improved since last visit. Very good today and the manager came by to check on us too. So much better than our last brunch experience when the front of house was way understaffed. Looks like corrections were made and every thing went smooth. Food is still not excellent but it's not bad. I'd give it a "good to very good", depending on what you order. Nothing wows you but I've never hada bad dish here either. It's a worthy neighborhood joint and I hope it continues to stay open.

Good food!

By nd000011111 |

excellent food and service, but small portions (if you order something special, like mine was a Georgian trout with fennel). Menu has options for people with all kind of allergies.

Amazed to find this gem on my doorstep!!

By BuddieH |

Been staying in midtown on holiday from the UK and had some good, some not so good dining experiences in Midtown and VH. Murphys my favourite. But on my last day popped in here for lunch and was not prepared for this quality of lunch. My sister rated her salad better than Murphys, praise indeed! The place was largely empty, though it was a Tuesday lunchtime. Get out and support this place folks - you won't be disappointed. Can't believe I had been to virtually every place in Midtown over recent years and missed this place.

It's All Excellent!

By Gary B |

Had the chance to eat again at Campagnolo on my most recent trip to Atlanta. Great local Atlanta dining option! I was traveling with a friend and we opted to eat at the bar. The bartender has worked at Campagnolo for a long time and he's just plain excellent! I've actually eaten here a few times and it's been perfect each time. It's a small restaurant and I honestly would not recommend it for a large party, although there was a party of 10 or 11 at the restaurant this night. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a piano player and singers starting at 9:30 pm and it gets VERY crowded in the front part of the restaurant. They do have booth spaces and a few tables in the back of the restaurant, but these aren't really large enough for a large group. In the summertime they have outdoor seating which is very nice as well. I would not hesitate to go back

Nice restaurant, limited menu

By L G |

Went to Campagnolo with a group of friends and enjoyed our meal. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful. Although the menu is somewhat limited, the choices were varied. Everyone in our group (7) enjoyed their meal. Would recommend

Very mediocre....could be so much better

By AtlantaGuy J |

We've eaten here several times (purely out of convenience of location when walking). The food is decent, but certainly nothing to go out of your way for. For the quality of food it's very overpriced, and the service has been noticeably bad several of the times we've been there. On our last disappointing venture there, they even added on a mandatory 20% service charge for our party of 6 to ensure that the lazy waiter got paid royally for some of the worst service I've experienced (I waited tables for two years in college...it's not that hard to give good service...especially when the restaurant is half empty). There's a reason this place is always half empty despite a killer location. Recommend you look elsewhere if you have the choice.

Loud but great restaurant

By Ray W |

The food is great( portions not overly generous) the atmosphere cozy but loud, the service always good, Nice selection on the menu

Great Location

By Charlie30084 |

We really like the location but this is our 4th and most likley last time. The first 2 visits we wonderful, good service and food but the last 2 times have been disappointing from lousy bar service and the dreadful kitchen, really cold food!! It's one thing to serve cold food but an entire table, after waiting more than an hour!! Ok I get it, all restaurants can have a bad day, but it is amazing to send your dish back and get micro wave food back and still not end a degree hoter, but now ruined. Why I said it might be my last trip? The manger did the right thing when we were present our check, they get 5 stars for knowing they we wrong, howerver there was a similar experience last time we went. This has so much potentail I just do not get what's wrong? They are always busy so it could just be my bad timing or they need an over haul?

Excellent

By Niels R |

As always. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. If you love Italian food (no pizzas here) you should give this place a try 🖒

Family Sit Down

We had a fun visit to The Piedmont district which had a lot of quaint restaurants. We stopped in to Campagnolos and I would give it a solid 4. The restaurant had good ambiance and the food was good. We had a relaxing dinner and the service was great.

Twice the Problem

By Lee F |

Second time here and the food is out of this world but the service is well below average. This experience had an even worse server than last time. Iacov is a real sweet boy but I do not think he has the disposition to be a great waiter. Now it could be that the manager, named Gee, did not make sure the new waiter was trained correctly or just does not know how to judge who will be a good waiter. The waiter appeared to be scared of the manager and did not tell Gee about the problem we had about the way the waiter didn't request our food to be prepared without tomato’s and didn't have the dish remade but only tomato's were removed but tomato juice still there. The waiter had other weaknesses not worth mentioning. I spoke to the manager and he was not apologetic but thanked me for the information.

Great New Italian Bistro in Midtown

By kathy o |

We recently had a delightful lunch at the new Campagnolo ("peasant" in Italian) restaurant. Beautiful inside space and bar, with a very pleasant alfresco dining area. We had a delicious, light lunch with excellent service. The highly creative menu and cocktails/drinks list are perfect - and left us wanting to try everything. It's a wonderful space for a great meal with friends and a fine addition to the neighborhood.

Too much of a scene, way too loud

By Steve B |

We with my husband and two other couples. We arrived at 9:30pm weekend night to find the place packed to the gills. there were three LARGE parties in the restaurant, each of which had at least 12-15 people. Two were in the entry area (where the piano is) and one was in the far back. We waited approximately 5 minutes and the six of us were offered a booth in the rear of the restaurant that was actually meant for four; we took the booth because otherwise the wait would have been interminable. Four of us sat in the booth benches and two of us sat at the end of the booth table straddling the corner of the booth bench. We were brought water and our drink orders were taken. There is an excellent wine list with selections available by the bottle or glass, and a full bar was available for cocktails for two of us. A small basket of bread was brought which was quite stale; a tiny saucer of olive oil and balsamic vinegar which might have been adequate for one was served with the bread. Salad selections were ordered along with main dishes. My Zucchini Piccata was delicious; my husband and one friend who had the Roasted Beet Salad reported it was fine; another friend had the Arugula Salad and said it was ok. However, two friends ordered Caesar Salad and it came to the table bone dry without a drop of dressing. Dressing was requested from the server and on its delivery both reported it was unusual. I tasted it and found it to be the oddest "Caesar" dressing I've ever tasted... kind of like a mix between green goddess and Caesar, very sweet and not at all a Caesar in my opinion. Main dishes were brought. My lasagna was quite good. One friend ordered the salmon but the waiter came back later to state they were out, so he ordered the Corvina was ordered instead. the rest of the meal was unmemorable with the exception of our server who insisted on commenting on how "We must not have liked the dish" because we didn't leave food on our plates. Har dee har har har. This type of comment is a major pet peeve of mind. It seems to imply that by finishing the food for which we paid handsomely that we were somehow gluttons or something; after the third time of his saying this to the table as dishes were cleared haphazardly, I rather strongly brought to his attention that it was a rude statement. He defended himself by stating it was a frequent and routine joke used by servers. I replied that it was not funny and that I would appreciate if he stopped. He did. I apologized to my husband and friends if I had embarrassed them but they all agreed that his "joke" was not funny, especially after the third time. Anyway, our server did split the bill for each of us three couples as we requested and we saw that an 18% gratuity was already added to the tab. In total, my husband and I had two glasses of wine each, a salad each and an entrée each, and our bill with 18% gratuity was over $100. I have not yet addressed the noise factor. As I mentioned, the place was PACKED and the noise level was extreme, and that was before the pianist began playing. Once he started playing, the apparently drunken parties in the front began singing very loudly and what seemed to be purposefully off key. It was unpleasant and simply added to the difficulty of communicating and trying to enjoy what would come to be one of the more expensive meals we've had in a while. In the end, I give the place only two stars for the noise level, the generally blaise reaction my friends had to their dishes, and finally for the server and his annoying "joke."

Lively restaurant with friendly staff and good food

By matrlaw |

We recently moved to midtown and have been sampling all the restaurants nearby. We have eaten here three times. It is busy but relaxed during the week, lively on the weekends. The food is consistently good. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended. We will be regulars!

Lovely evening meal

By Dr Jane Y |

My husband and I had dinner here. We both had a main course and dessert. My spaghetti and meatballs was excellent. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the tomato, sauce rich but not acidic as some tomato sauces can be. The meatballs were well spiced and seasoned. My husband had a seafood broth which contained a good variety of seafood in a tomato based broth. He commented that the prawns were some of the best he had tasted. Desserts were wonderful. In particular the banana and walnut semifreddo that I had was wonderful. Service was good. A most enjoyable experience.

A gem

By Huskie4 |

We went on Father's day. What a treat. Excellent selection of food which is also very well prepared. Moderately priced. Excellent service.

Discrimination by hostess

By sspc |

Ok, so my review of this place has a lot to do with the hostess that greeted us when we arrived. We dinned 7/13 around 7pm. she was a young, dark haired woman. She was on the phone when we arrived and didn't acknowledge us and continued to talk for 2-3. minutes. finally she asked if we had a reservation, we said no. She then told us we could sit at the bar. We looked around at a couple of empty tables for 2 in front of us, but hey, maybe they were reserved. So we sat and ate at the bar. 1/5 hrs in, those tables were still free. At the end of our meal I went to the restroom and there were 3 tables avaialbe in back. So I say this to tell you that we were an interracial couple. Other than the bar tender, I was the only black person there. I think this was purely RACISM. she didn't like that we were together. Why else did she ignore us when we arrived, then lied that no table was free and clearly there were. The food was ok but her behavior ruined the experience for us, we will never return there or recommend it to anyone we know. Shame on you Campagnolo!

Great Food Followed by Piano Bar Entertainment

By Dennis B |

First, one should know that while this place does not discriminate and all patrons are welcome, it is very much a gay friendly restaurant. While there are younger (20ish-30ish) straight couples/groups, the main clientele are gay men. If you have a problem with that you probably should not go here. As the name suggests the emphasis in on Italian food. I have been here a few times and each time it has been excellent. The service is wonderful (ask for Alexander) and the food is excellent. The atmosphere is very vibrant and lively. When the weather is good the outdoor seating is the place to be. The inside is split level, small, and cozy. If you want a more quiet and intimate atmosphere (say for a date or business) ask to sit on the lower level in the back. I had the Caesar salad to start. It was not overwhelming, but what salad really is? It was very good and was ample in size. The proportion of dressing to lettuce and cheese was perfect. For my main course I had the Cornish Hen. This dish was over the top - very flavorful with an excellent crispy skin. If you like Cornish Hen, (I do) this is one of the best you will probably find anywhere. My husband had the scallops which he reported as wonderful. They are wrapped in bacon, which was a different touch. A friend had the port shank, which I tasted. It was excellent. Very tender and seasoned just right. At about 9 - 9:30 pm they have a piano player come in and the crowd sings along to old show tunes and other classic music. Some patrons take the microphone and do solos. It's not rowdy, but very electric with everyone in the place singing along. It is obvious that many of the patrons are regulars and come just for this aspect of the evening. This place is great for a night out. You get excellent food and service followed by good entertainment in one venue without the bar atmosphere.

Average service on a slow night

By TravellinTex |

We were in town for a few nights and this restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel so we had high expectations. We had dinner on a Thursday night and the restaurant was half full. Our waiter was not very engaging, did not really welcome us and was not helpful with the menu. It seemed like he was just going through the motions. We had the mushroom carpaccio, daily soup, and caprese salad. The tomatoes on the salad were not ripe and hard. Overall the food was just average and the service was below what we would have expected from a spot in Midtown.

Great experience !

By CobaltConnection |

Our first time here. We used Open Table for a patio table reservation. Parking is just around the corner, behind Zocola Mexican restaurant. Valet parking for $3. The atmosphere here is great. Service and staff are professional and friendly. Food is very, very good.

Good service, food so-so

By Bonnie Ashby S |

Short menu, weak wines, did not have dishes advertised. Still, staff was attentive and apologetic. We would not return for a meal as there are many other restaurants nearby.

Excellent Service and Food

By Linda B |

We had dinner here on our first night in Atlanta as it was only about a 10 minute walk from our accommodation at Stonehurst Place. In fact, Stonehurst Place recommended we have dinner here. We were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. We were tired and hungry when we arrived and we left feeling satisfied and happy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent Food in a Relaxed Atmosphere

By DomerChrisH |

Campagnolo offers a fairly modest menu but makes up for it with good presentation and tasty offerings. We enjoyed a three course meal with appetizers, salad and entrees and were not disappointed. Portions were generous but not overwhelming. They offer a good wine list to complement the meal. It's not cheap, but they deliver good value. We would return.

Simple, bold, love and care, great service

By FuzzyBeesMom |

Simply delighted with bold flavors from simplicity, tastes love in cooking and priced right. I enjoyed it. I had arugula salad and chicken picatta. I usually eat seafood but had their chicken because of homemade pasta that come with dish. Arugula salad had a generous portion of thick shaved cheese. It had generous amount of pine nuts too. As simple as it is, the salad provided great taste and satisfaction for not over priced food. Pasta dish was good. Simple, bold, and love definitely comes through. I did not agree with chicken texture though it tasted good. It was marinaded with something acidic. So it was chewy while soft. Some people like it that way. I would like it crusty coating with melting inside. If they could do it, it would definitely better. Another point is the pasta. Homemade is great. Size and thickness are consistent across. This tells me that they are using machine to roll up dough and cut. Nothing wrong with it. The noodle is made mostly with flour with no or little semolina flour. It does not have compelling texture against homemade pasta with semolina. Calling it tagliatelle was a bit disappointing with the ingredients. I would call it just noodles but certainly give credit for making it in house. Service was absolutely amazing. Darion is tentative and helpful with recommendations of food. Cocktails were so scrumptious. I would visit again. Experience was good enough for me to get additional food to go during my travel.

Nice staff- terrible food.

By Daniel L |

Food was terrible ! Mussels old and smelling tasting, lasagna was heavy and over spiced, butternut squash with pasta was nauseating, Aside from that wait staff was nice.

Great Italian

By smillender |

From cocktails to desert, this is a wonderful dining experience. The service is friendly and efficient and there's lots of ambience. A great place to unwind with friends or dining solo.

Delicious

By Eric G |

Loved this spot. Situated at a bustling intersection, the surroundings were lively. The restaurant was more sedate which was welcomed. The service was excellent and the cioppino was the best I've had outside of San Francisco.

Sunday dinner

By Jim M |

My wife and I ate here on a recent Sunday. We were one of the first in that night. Even though we were early, we were treated with great respect and felt that we were truly appreciated. The food was great tasting, presented hot and the service was spot on.

OK, but not a "wow"

By NJ Critic |

This restaurant we found to be comfortable and service was fine. The menu and food however, only average. The menu was a bit limiting with only one chicken dish and one fish entree - kind of weird if you have chicken in the kitchen to only prepare it one way. Appetizers and main courses were small and just "ok". I will never understand why some restaurants serve such meager portions of pasta when its one of the least expensive items that they have in the kitchen!

Food Average

By Cindy K |

Food is average. They do not have traditional Italian dishes. The Cornish hen we ordered was bland and fried, we were hoping to eat a healthy dish.

Exceeded my expectations!

By Preston S |

I live nearby and had routinely walk past this restaurant. I finally got around to trying it and was very impressed. The inside was much nicer than I expected and the food was fantastic!

Yummy! Tasty!

By MomagerOttawa |

Yum, yum, yum....... Delightful food, atmosphere, music and staff. Need I say more?? Perfect in every way! Thank you so much! We ate here on our last evening in Atlanta. What can I say about Atlantan cuisine and culture??? Perfect from start to finish! I hope to return!!

Just OK

By John D |

It's not a bad place, but just OK. The interior is rather spartan and the servers seem to be in training on a lot of things. The food was fine, but not exceptional. They do have a nice patio outside, but right on Piedmont in a busy area. The wife's chicken was very good, my lasagna was OK, nothing special. I'm getting tougher on my rankings. But there are better places around I think.

Yummy burger

By Easygoing01 |

Great atmosphere. We sat outside for lunch and it was so relaxing. We all ordered the burger because we overheard other tables talking about it so we all had to try it. So good. Two burgers with pepperoni and cheese and salami. What a great combination. And the price was not crazy. I think $11 for it and it came with some onion rings which were great too. Good find. Never been here before but will go back and recommend.

Nice Addition to Midtown Atlanta

By Jan_from_Atlanta |

Owner Maureen tranformed this eyesore of a building into a most pleasant neighborhood spot featuring Italian cooking. We've had very good dinners here three times now and they also serve brunch and lunch all week. This is not Atlanta's finest cuisine but it is a great place to drop by for a nice meal, good service, in a very comfortable atmosphere.

Good food

By Rupert W |

Pleasant service, great food. I had a bad cold throughout my visit to Atlanta so could hardly taste anything, but this place made stuff that still got through and hit the morale-lifting spot. Lasagne is particularly good.

I won’t go there again

By Greg T |

The manager is rude and unprofessional. Skip this place. I won’t be back. There are much better options in Atlanta’s Midtown.

Good Food, Nice Ambiance but...

By Maddie P |

Good place to celebrate a nice birthday dinner. We sat outside on the patio and ordered Lasagna and Salmon as our entrees. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, our visit was runined by several large cock-roaches walking along the wooden bench seating. We couldn't finish our desert as I refused to sit back down once we saw the 3rd roach go past. It looked like it had gotten into one of our purses so we had to empty the entire contents of the purse in the bathroom to make sure we weren't taking a roach back home. I have sat on many restaurant patios in Atlanta and in other cities and have never had this experience. Certainly there are sprays, treatments, nets, etc.. that would help with this problem. Otherwise, a lovely restaurant but sit inside.

Nice Atmosphere, Food and Service

By william s |

Noisy in front area by bar but we got to sit in the back where it was quiet. Nice varied Italian menu choices. Lasagna was recommended and outstanding in flavor and portion. Nice atmosphere. Outstanding service from Dale. Kudos to Dale and the kitchen. See pictures.

Good service and atmosphere

By NA22 |

Good food and service. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Pasta tasted quite fresh, but it had all stuck together at the bottom of the bowl as if it had been sitting around. It was served so quickly it couldn’t possibly have just been made, but it did taste homemade at least. Lively atmosphere in a good part of town.

Great Italian Food and Friendly Staff

By WeHoTom |

Was there for dinner with new friends on a weekday evening and seated quickly though it was already a bit busy. Waiter was friendly and took our order promptly, though we were talking as some of us had just met. He graciously waited until we were ready to order. The lasagna was very good. 3 or the 4 of us ordered it and it was a large portion so I took it home to re-heat the next day (which I never do with pasta-it never tastes the same). But actually it was just as good reheated! Was a little spicy with red pepper flakes, just the way I like it (being Italian myself). Bar is also very attractive and bartender very attentive. I plan to return soon!!

Excellent!!!

By Aria_W19 |

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The service was very friendly! Atmosphere was loud - but not complaining! Guests were having fun and really enjoying the modern, rustic environment and the food was exceptional and a step above the usual! The restaurant was busy and we expected to have to wait, but we were actually seated right away and in a beautiful little booth that felt somewhat "secluded". Our server was also serving a large party table (which may have been the true real housewives if Atlanta, ha!) but still did a great job of showing us our business was just as appreciated and important. Really enjoyed this restaurant and will be back when I return to Atlanta!

Wonderful find

By CAHI57 |

Traveling with my son he chose the spot and I was impressed . Our server Lili was a true delight with a lovely smile and great recommendations. A special appetizer for the evening was the best octopus I have ever had with a white pacific fish thin filets all lightly breaded, seasoned and fried. We shared the mushroom carpacio which was pleasant with a light dressing. My son had paparadelle with duck comfort. Excellent. I ordered the orrichiette with fennel sausage and the flavors were spot on. We shared the scallops dish we the potatoes. The scallops were cooked to perfection. I would visit this restaurant again gladly. So wonderful to enjoy Italian cuisine not smothered in a red sauce.

Veal Marsala is excellent

By Michael G |

Went with a group to this location for business. It was late in the evening, but the service and the food were both great. I wouldn't mind returning to try more things on the menu!

Always friendly, good food and a great atmosphere.

By williams1942 |

The Dover sole was excellent. Mussels were fresh with a wonderful wine broth. The full bar is a fun place to meet the neighbors!

Nice brunch in Midtown

By Barry B |

Went here for brunch on Saturday. Good bloody mary, Small menu but we all found something good. I had the paninni and it was tasty and came with fried potatoes. My friends also enjoyed their meals. Cool vibe and good service.

BRUNCH!!!!!!!!

By KitaTravels |

My awesome friend Catherine T. suggested we have brunch here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon (10/01). The weather was perfect so we sat outside. I'm so glad she introduced me to this place because it is absolutely perfect for brunch. The menu offers a variety of options ranging from healthy to decadent. I especially loved the sausage frittata and have been daydreaming about having another one soon. Be warned, this is one of those spots that doesn't sell alcoholic beverages until after 12:00pm on Sundays (at least when I visited), so you'll have to patiently wait for your mimosas and bellinis if you arrive before noon. I look forward to trying their lunch and dinner offerings in the near future. Gold star!

Great food, nice atmosphere

By jhurdonline |

Very good Italian food. Attentive service. Visited recently and was surprised by the fun ambiance, as the evening piano player led a sing along of classic tunes.

Easter brunch

By cynthiag44 |

Excellent brunch on Easter Sunday. Weather was beautiful for their outdoor seating. We had reservations for noon and were seated promptly. Two of us had their French toast with fresh berries which was delicious. I had a mimosa which I thought could've had more champagne. The other couple had chicken picatta and a frittata with no complaints. Some of the tables had umbrellas but ours did not. It wasn't an issue sitting without one but later noticed we were sun burnt. Would visit again!

Wonderful experience

By Ann C |

Food is fantastic and the service was friendly, informative and fun. Prices were very reasonable. Full or half orders of meals are available. The full orders are VERY generous. The half was perfect for my dinner. Beautiful cozy atmosphere.

Great Sing-a-Long Piano Bar/Restaurant

By Gary B |

Have been a couple times and went again last night. Robert is at the piano on Friday/Saturday nights and there's always a great cast of singers. Not so much open mic as Robert vets the singers so most of what you hear is Broadway worthy! I hadn't eaten there until last night. I sat at the bar and ordered the salmon. DELICIOUS!! I didn't like the sides that came with the salmon and they were very accommodating and allowed me to switch them out. I had carrots and mashed potatoes. The carrots were awesome! The bartender was very accommodating and attentive and the place was packed so he was very busy throughout the night. So nice to have a great meal and hear semi-professional singers belt it out. Definitely not the place for a quiet romantic meal on a Friday or Saturday night because it's packed, lots of standing folks around the piano and a bit noisy. Other than that, it's a great place to go!

Great Food and Atmosphere

By TBONEWILLY999 |

This is a lovely restaurant with a variety of seating choices. You can sit outside, or, on Friday and Saturday sit in the bar for a fun evening of singing with Robert Ray and his regulars, or sit in the back closer to the kitchen for a more quiet dining experience. Most of the servers have been here a long time. Bennie behind the bar is the best. If you like lasagna, then this is the place for you, its simply amazing. Pasta with meat balls is very tasty as is the chicken piccata. We always start with the beet salad. You can't go wrong for good italian food. Just no pizza.

Dinner

By Melissa M |

Great find! Started with the calamari - spicy and tasty. Beat salad was excellent and the cauliflower was the best. Lasagna was made to order, perfect blend of ingredients and not to cheesy. Perfect dinner with a knowledgeable, attentive server.

Solid Italian in an Uber cool location

By SeriousAboutExcellencw |

If you want to get a feel for the essence of Atlanta, this is your place. It is at the intersection of 10th St and Piedmont, Which continues to be - more or less – the center of gay Atlanta. But it is more than that. My wife and I are not gay, and felt very comfortable in this mixed setting. On Saturday night, it was jammed, In a good way. There is action everywhere, and it’s all good. I had the muscles, which were fabulous. I followed up with the mushroom pasta, which is even better. The value was outstanding. Sit on the terrace if you can.

Great food and service

By bhlraven1916 |

Great food and service. Parking is really bad in that area. Didn't realize it was so close to the Atlanta Beltline. Seems like a lot of restaurants in the area, but the high ratings this place received is well worth it!!! Nice atmosphere.

Friendly Bar with Great service

By KittyBritAbroad_ |

We were recommended to try this restaurant by the hosts at our B&B and it did not disappoint! The staff were extremely friendly and the cocktails were delicious, we sat outside and were in the perfect spot to watch the world go by - if you are in Atlanta this is a great bar to visit!

Great Italian food!

By Timothy F |

This was a spontaneous stop after a martini nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the food. We got the parpadelle and capellini with brussel sprouts and all were full of flavor and made on property (the noodles). They are open late and we sat on the patio. There was a piano concert with show tunes while the audience sang along. Great place and we will be back soon.

Birthday dinner

By Dodobir |

I was wanting a nice pasta dinner and a place that my picky eater husband could find something he would enjoy. I had the lasagna and I've never had something so delicious as this. It was out of this world fantastic. My husband who hates red sauce pasta even enjoyed it so you know it is good. It comes out in a circular bowl and is t your typical stacked lasagna it's on the thinner side buried under the most delicious layer of melted cheese. I always find two items that I ask my server what they'd suggest and I couldn't get the other option out before they stopped me with the lasagna. Seriously so good. My husband found himself a steak with potatoes which he gobbled down so I know he was a happy camper. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was for two reasons, one we had to park around the back which was no problem but we had to walk through a nasty smelly side path between this and another restaurant and there was liquid and food on the ground and it stunk. Two the person behind the bar found it appropriate to talk about another member of staff and their "dabbling" lifestyle (their words not mine) and there were even some inappropriate words used. None of which I found offensive, it could have been discreet but it could be clearly heard across the room and wasn't something we wanted to hear about.

DELICIOUS!!!!

By Michael T |

The Orecchiette was amazing! I wanted a second serving. For dessert the Banana Walnut Semifreddo was also heavenly delicious.

Good food and service

By Kevin M |

Great place to get good Italian dinner. Had the seafood stew and lasagna at our table. Both were very good, hot, and appealing presentation. Service could not have been better. Server presented specials, made suggestions and was there when ever needed.

Excellent service and staff

By CobaltConnection |

Our "go to" restaurant in Midtown for delicious Italian. Great people watching if you are dining outside on the patio. Delicious Italian choices. Great appetizers and entrees. Craft cocktails are perfectly prepared. Professional and friendly service.

Fried Risotto Ball Heaven!

By Terry F |

If for no other reason, Campagnolo has breaded Pancetta Risotto Balls with garlic aioli and balsamic reduction sauces...which is the BEST EVER! Lasagna Matta and Mushroom Risotto are rich and flavorful especially with a nice Cabernet Sauvignon!! The outside seating ambiance was great with a surprise people watching adventure. Not to be missed!!!

Simple menu, refined quality

By ladyhowdy |

My husband and I were in Atlanta for DragonCon, and looking for somewhere off the beaten path to have dinner. We thought we'd go up to Piedmont, eat, then walk off the meal in Piedmont Park. It turns out this was a great idea! Campagnolo is a romantically lit little place just off 10th street on Piedmont. Their menu is quite limited--there's only one page for everything--but this gives the chef and kitchen staff the ability to focus on making everything they serve perfect. My husband and I decided to get the chicken pate to start, then ordered the fettuccine from the "Primi" section of the menu and the game hen from the "Secondi" section of the menu, with the intention of sharing all of the above. Once again, I think it would be hard to go wrong on this menu. All three dishes were delicious (and surprised us by being completely eaten--we had planned to take doggie bags back!). The service was pretty good--extremely friendly and personable, and quite knowledgeable about the food. We did, however, feel underdressed in our traveling clothes (nice jeans and a button down shirt).

Horrible

Let me start off by saying that in the restaurant industry although clearly food is important but customer service is almost as important if not more important than the food. We visited this restaurant while on an overnight stop in Atlanta. We had 11 in out party all together. We called and made reservations. We arrived and were seated at the table they had waiting for us, everything up until that point was fine. Our waiter comes over to us, he was a middle aged gentleman who seemed bothered to have to tend to us. Right away asked us what we wanted to order, never greeted us, never asked us about drink orders, nothing! We asked about children’s portions as there were 2 children which were mine in the group. Again, seemed bothered. We ordered the kids meals first and then adults ordered. My kids food was basic spaghetti and meatballs, the food was cold! Whatever I didn’t make a big deal the kids were hungry. I ordered the lasagna and yuck! I didn’t even eat 1/4 of it. I left it almost intact. My husband got salmon, nasty. The food was mediocre, so much for authentic Italian... not authentic at all. I’ve breen to many Italian restaurants and the customer service has never been an issue. The waiter was horrible. The icing on the cake was when my sons phone went off and the host shushed him... now mama bear kicked in and to avoid a serious confrontation I just got up and left. Consequently everyone else in my party also exited and were equally as upset with the poor treatment and service we received. I was so offended. I could see if my son had his phone in hand blasting but he did not. I would never allow it as I am considerate of other diners. It could’ve been any of our phones. I will tell you that you couldn’t pay me to go back to this dump. I will tell you the neighborhood is cute and there are other establishments near by. Therefore don’t waste your time or money in going here. There’s so many other great eateries in Atlanta that are totally worth it but this is not one of them.

This is the second visit I have made to Midtown Atlanta and my 3rd and 4th visit to Campagnolo. This is such an outstanding eating and entertainment restaurant. Alice the manager is so on top of making sure that everyone has a fabulous experience at this establishment. Not only is the food fabulous the staff makes your time there enjoyable. Top notch service, lots of entertainment and of course great prices with outstanding food. Make sure that you call in for reservations or you will miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Can't wait till my next visit!!!

Great place!

I was part of a group of 11 for a reunion with friends from college, several of whom I had not seen for many years. We wanted a nice restaurant for our last night together and this place was excellent in every way. It had been by recommended by several friends, as well as our hotel, the Hyatt Centric Midtown, and it took less than five minutes to walk there. The staff was friendly and professional, and our server was attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating throughout. They had our table set up in a back area, so we were able to hear each other and not worry too much about bothering others. We had appetizers, entrees and after dinner drinks, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We never felt rushed. We took advantage of several other restaurants while in Midtown Atlanta - for me, this was the high point!

Meh, hardly average

Went over the holiday weekend recently with friends, hoping for at least solid Italian-American food. The arancini were indeed pretty good, and I also enjoyed the chicken liver mouse but for the me the pastas fell completely flat. The gnocchi had good sauce, but the gnocchi themselves were dense, doughy, and just poorly done. The orecchiette was beyond subpar. The pasta was rubbery, there was no real moisture to it (should have been a nice olive oil based sauce with sausage & broccoli rabe), and it seemed to have dried out sitting in the window. Wine was good, service was average with some mis-steps but nothing terrible. Would I go for apps? Sure. For pasta? Not a chance.

Best service in years

Excellent restaurant. Great food made the way Italian food is suppose to be made. Best part was the service. Jacob was outstanding. Has great suggestions, knew food and beverage pairings, but mostly was just a flat out GREAT person. When someone can Polk you in the eye and make you feel like your family is a lost attribute in the industry. Visit this place for no other reason!!!!

Good, authentic food

Very friendly and fast service at this Italian restaurant. Dishes are authentic and there is an excellent balance of lighter and more substantial dishes to choose from. Enjoyed it very much

Great little Italian restaurant and bar

The family went for dinner at Campagnolo and had a very nice and reasonably priced dinner. The set up is cozy, the service was good, attentive and friendly, the food was excellent. We have a vegetarian in the family and we’re able to get a good choice for him. All told, 3 appetizers, four entrees, 2 deserts, a bottle of wine, and two glasses of Prosecco are in at $200. Worth a trip, give it a try.

Super!

Our party had lunch here and really enjoyed it. The portions were enormous but very good. One of our party had a meatball sub; another a pasta dish. Neither could finish it. Two of us shared a sandwich, and it was more than sufficient. The service was friendly and the atmosphere good.

Perfect patio evening

We celebrated an unusually warm February day by dining outdoors at Campagnolo. It was quite busy on a Saturday night where people were happily taking advantage of the terrific weather. The patio was comfortable and the noise level reasonable for Carrying on a conversation. The lasagna was delicious.
