Great Service, Spendy Food

By cheeri14 |

I read a lot about Can Font before my best friend and I went there. Maybe I have been in Portland too long, but I wasn't overwhelmed with the food. Our service was fantastic, but the over-all ambiance was overly bright for dinner. We had three dishes with montadito amb bolets (charred bread with mushrooms and cheese) being the best of the three. The charcuterie plate was good, but I have had just as good at other spots around the town. Can Font is known for their paella, but while it was good, I dont feel that it was worth $30 person good. For the cost of the meal, I guess I expected more food or more wow, but it was par with other high end places around town. I am not disappointed that I went there, but I probably would not return.

Best Spanish Restaurant in Portland

Excellent service. Amazing food!!! We've tried the other Spanish restaurants in town and Can Font stands out.

Excellent Food & Service

Wonderful restaurant with great appetizers and small plates for sharing. Our server was amazing and she made an excellent recommendation for dessert...their cheesecake.

Delicious 😋 and will definitely be back!!!

My partner and I recently visited Can Font for a date night dinner and it was absolutely amazing and delicious !!! They easily accommodated our request for vegan đŸŒ± paella and it was very satisfying. The wine selection was impeccable as well! We’ll definitely be back!!! â€ïžđŸ‘ŒđŸ»

Getting there, but still some ways to go to live up to Michelin star

By tfizzle |

Anticipation on this restaurant is high given its owner/chef and history in spain. Here are the pros: beautiful space, warm service, some fairly prices wines. I had the duck/beef canneloni (it is different in spanish) and they were excellent. A nice take on Ceviche which is not cured in citrus but the fish is poached and added to peppers, tomatoes and onions finished with red wine vinegar and olive oil. The potatoes and shrimp were good. The salad was just okay, the meat plate excellent. The white sangria is very good, the red just a bit too fruity. The prices are a little steep and unfortunately there is a crossfit gym across the way and several people commented how awkward it was to see people exercising while eating dinner.

Good tastings from Barcelona

Fun evening with family who like to explore European Cuisine. The service was professional and we liked our table in the center of the room.

Awesome meal

By OkanaganArnie |

I had a friend visiting and we made a reservation at Can Font. It was outstanding. Everything we ordered was done to perfection. The service was attentive but not hovering--they hit just the right note. The wine list is fabulous, and the ambience is great--lively but not loud. We absolutely loved it!

Used to be great

By owmarshall |

Service is still pretty good, but what happened to the food and wine? Thhis used to be a traditional Spanish place, but the chef that owned it originally has gone back to Spain and whoever bought it doesn't get it.

True Spanish Cuisine with Great Food

By Trek-Always |

We went with local friends who know this restaurant. Spanish. Great food. Expensive. Appetizer plus entree with no drinks was $45-$50 per person, but one pays for quality and uniqueness. I would go back. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.

Amazing Food & Atmosphere

Can Font is still my favorite restaurant in Portland. They continue to deliver amazing flavored authentic dishes & A+ service. I can’t wait to come back.

Had such high hopes

By Carl R |

On the positive side, fantastic service and nice Spanish wine list. Also the chef knows what he is doing in the kitchen but really skimps on the proteins. ..... One shrimp in the paella? Tons of rice. Very little seafood, and I mean like a few teaspoons worth. Come on, 44.00 for that one dish for two? We were all set to tuck into a seafood wonderland. Bah. Wine on the lower end was 35.00 Salpicon de mariscos were ok (12.00) Soup was really good. 103.00 plus a 13.00 tip. We left very disappointed.

I love Can Font

By CDM |

This place is might be the most underrated place in Portland. We have been multiple time and have always had a great experience. On one occasion we sat at the chef's counter and it was so much fun. We got to see the kitchen in action and chat with some of the kitchen staff. The food is authentic and amazing. A few favorites are the paella, the various cured meats and jamon and the char octopus. The wine list is put together and reasonably priced. We'll be back.

Portland favorite - absolutely lovely

By Navigator760044 |

We live in Portland and this is one of our favorites. Beautiful space, amazing service ,cannot beat the paella (on my bucket list to try all of the options! I've had 4 so far). Amazing cocktails, perfect service. Have come for romantic dinners with my husband, we've met other couples here, I've done two different girl nights out here - just love this restaurant!

Excellent food and service from this Pearl District crowd pleaser. One of the best in Portland. The squid ink paella is always excellent.

Amazing in more ways than one!

By Rubinfruits |

Can Font is a Spanish Tapas restaurant, which also has Spanish inspired larger dishes. The whole experience was amazing! We were there with a large group and they had even personalized the menu for us! Service was great, food was amazing, selection of Spanish wines was also very good! Highly recommend the scallops and octopus with the truffle potatoes, the duck, and any of the Paellas! Definitely worth checking out! Great for couples or friends or a girls night out!

Spanish cuisine

By Tarpoon |

Went as a group of 7 on a Saturday evening. When making the reservation for 6, they required a credit card deposit. No worries on this front. We called and asked to "upsize" our reservation to 7 about two hours before our arrival. They were friendly and accommodating. We ordered 3 different paella's (two seafoods and a meat) for the table and all were good. I'd just had paella at La Rambla in McMinnville, OR the night before and it was (slightly) tastier. There is a paella "negra" on the menu for the more "adventurous", which includes squid ink, but I didn't get a warm and fuzzy about dark paella as I'm used to a saffron rice based dish. The wine list at Can Font is decidedly Spanish (a good thing). Waiter recommended a 2015 Priorat for around $80 bucks. It was great! Priorat is generally a bolder red and usually mostly garnacha. They had 4 or 5 options. I also like that they state on their menu a corkage fee of $20 if you prefer to bring your own bottle. Being from a State where corkage isn't allowed, it's a pleasure to see it prominently displayed. Good for you Can Font! We were so full that we didn't go for desert, but the entire meal wasn't terribly expensive and was an enjoyable experience all around. We'll be back!

Rude Staff

By Keem S |

Not coming back, the manager/staff is rude. Even left a false response to my google one star review. Reading his public response below, I am leaving more specific background info below for the public reference. Hope he realizes how rude he was. So here’s what happened in reality-now I regret that I did not video recored the entire conversation we had. We were first told by the waitress that “large party is coming” and then she left without any explanation. After several more minutes, a tall guy came and he said with an attitude, “Large party is coming” so we asked “what do you mean”. He rudely responded that “we need your table”. We asked “Are you asking us to leave” and he again rudely responded that “Yes, you already paid your bill” I am not sure why he is lying in his response that we were informed several times that we need to clear our table due to the next reservation. We were only informed once in a disrespectful way. In most restaurants with similar price range, people assume you can linger and take your time even after paying your bill. To be honest, we were intimidated by his rude attitude forcing us to leave the table. By the time he reluctantly mentioned that “You can move to the bar area”, we were so appalled that we had no option but leave. We would have been fine if someone had informed us in the beginning of our meal that due to the large party reservation, we kindly ask you to finish your meal until 8 pm. However, we were never informed about that piece of information and were rudely asked in a last minute. I have dined here more than four times and lingered for more than two hours before-didn’t assume that we had to leave after two hours. I believe that rudeness comes from ignorance. According to his public response below, he believes that it is fair to rudely force customers out if you have stayed for an hour and 50 minutes :) I hope this rude person realizes what mistakes he made and sincerely apologize to us.

Planning on my return visit to this restaurant

This is the Best Paella in PDX! We ordered 2 kinds: the Squid Ink and the Seafood Paella. They are both very flavorful. We also enjoyed the ham croquetas.

One of the best in Portland for fine dining

By L S |

I have dined in Can Font 4-5 times and each time it delivered one of the finest dining experiences in Portland. It has certainly more of European than a Portland vibe. Great service, unique food and excellent selection of reasonably priced wines. Not sure why it is not ranked higher but hey, Portland is weird. In my opinion it is one of the top 5 restaurants in Portland.

Close...but BCN it's not.

By JasonBrandtLewis |

Can Font is the PDX incarnation of Josep Vidal's extraordinary restaurant in Barcelona (BCN). Apparently Vidal, according to Portland Monthly, said he fell hard for Portland during a visit with friends in 2014 and based upon that -- and the great ingredients available in the PNW -- opened a "spin-off" here. Hmmmmm...like I said in my title, Barcelona, it's not. The four of us began with a bunch of "starters." The Saltejat de Bolets Amb Pop I Llangostins (seasonal mushrooms, octopus, langoustines) was good, but just missed. I liked the Croquetes de Pollastre (spanish fritters of chicken, aioli, picada sauce). There isn't much you can do to ruin Pernil IbĂšric I Pa Amb TomĂ quet (bellota iberico ham, grilled catalan bread brushed with tomato, garlic and olive oil), unless you can't slice the Jamon thin. Delicious, but with only two pieces of bread and the four of us, the server (IMHO) should have mentioned that and offered to add two additional pieces. Then we ordered the Paella De Mar I Muntany (mediterranean prawns, pork, monkfish, cuttlefish, mussels, clams, and of course, rice). Now a "real" paella will have a layer of socarrat at the bottom, that delicious layer of crispy rice at the bottom. Many restaurants, however, finish their paella in the oven -- so, rather than keeping it on the stovetop, where the heat beneath the pan will create the soccarrat, the oven creates "all-over" heat. Easier for the restaurant, and a not-quite-so-authentic dish for the diner. But you don't serve a paella with "wet" rice, with unabsorbed liquid sloshing around in the pan. Unless, I suppose, you're in the kitchen at Can Font PDX and you think that's OK to serve. Uh, no, it's not. And now a word about Service. Our server was nice and friendly, but service was spotty as well. For example, three of us got our drinks shortly after we ordered them, but one of our group waited -- seriously! -- TEN MINUTES for their gin & tonic. Really? Yes, really. We timed it. So, in conclusion, some things Can Font does well; with others, not only is their execution off, but they seem to not notice or care. But at the prices they charge, they should! I doubt we'll return.

The empty plate says it all.

Portland friends, here you will find absolutely exquisite food that will make you want to do unspeakably delicious acts of obeisance to the gods of culinary delight...run don’t walk, and don’t waste time asking questions or trying to understand, just shut up and come here immediately.

The best paella I have eaten for a long time, impeccable service, friendliness. utstanding food and very good desserts too. You have to try it. Highly recommended

Good Food BUT Service Quality Limits the Customer Experience

By wsk2715 |

Food was good but the lack of service staff (as explained by the host) resulted in overly long delays between plates. Why wouldn't management plan for this on a Saturday night in December? Likely won't return.

Missed the mark

By PDX_Jackg |

Last night Can Font missed the mark. We have dined here before and had a great meal. The wine and appetizers were good, our main dish, halibut, was very dry. Gordon Ramsey would have smashed it in front of the chef. Next time, we will stick to the tapas.

A Truly Fine Spanish Restaurant

By Paul |

This past weekend, my wife and I celebrated our fifty-first anniversary with a dinner at Can Font. We learned to love Spanish food on a trip we took to Spain some five years ago. So, we decided to revisit a favorite restaurant to dine on some favorite food. We made the right decision. Can Font is simply wonderful. There is no aspect of the experience that isn’t delightful. The service staff is exceptional. Our waitress was charming and attentive without being the slightest bit intrusive – just the right balance of thoughtful focus and respect for privacy. The ambiance there is perfect; the place is light and airy, comfortable, and lively without being noisy. But ultimately, you go to a restaurant for the food. And that was the best part of the evening. We started with two appetizers – two tapas: the mixed green salad and fried calamari. The portions were ample, but not massive. Both were excellent. We then shared the paella with chicken and chorizo sausage. It was a marvel, reminding us of the dishes we so enjoyed in Valencia. Oh, and I should mention that the bartender is an artist. My wife said her Manhattan may have been the best she has ever had. And my Martini was perfect. If you want to enjoy a special evening out on the town, with great food and drink, in a charming setting, attended impeccably by expert staff, this is your place. We recommend it at the highest possible level.

The Best Seafood Paella Negra!

By lgarsea |

Can Font is a lovely restaurant where you can get a special Barcelona style Paella. One of my favorite restaurants in Portland!

THE PAELLA IS LIFE CHANGING!

By Joe |

Great location, gorgeous restaurant, friendly staff and a chef that has mastered the tastiest Paella ever!

Not fabulous

By parkok |

First of all my wife has family in Barcelona and the area. I have been there many times. I make pan y tomate and we have grown padrons. The food there was good, but not up to any Michelin standards. Our starters of seviche were good, but not delicate. The main courses of squid ink Paella were tastey with generous portions.. The bread was not done well and the dessert creme Catalana was awful. I had better in Cuban places in Miami. The drinks were very well done and the place was comfortable and relaxing. Prices were a little high for slightly above average food.

Barcelona in the Pearl

By lmantel |

Can Font has been open about three weeks and is already a hot spot. It is a bit on the noisy side, but not as bad as some. The food is interesting and mostly very good. We went with two friends for an anniversary dinner. We had four appetizers: Marinated vegetable salad with belly tuna, canelones with meat and foie gras, ham croquettes, and Pa Amb (grilled bread with tomatoes). The only one not worthwhile was the ham croquettes, where the ham was not discernible. The Pa Amb was OK, the other two very good. We had a bottle of Albarino, which was excellent and went beautifully with the food. For main courses, we had the cod with garlic mousseline and other things, which was very good and very fair for the price, and the duck leg confit, which was overly expensive for five slices of duck breast and a bit of confit. We had the citrus dessert and the Barcelona creme caramel, both very good. The menu has not been available on the web site, and the only way I could write this detailed review was that I photographed the menu!

Yes and No

By michele s |

That's a yes to service. Efficient & friendly although we felt the server wasn't any more well versed about wine pairings than we were and we were fairly unsure since the wines were mostly (if not entirely) Spanish. The suggested wine was fine but unremarkable. Appetizer was delivered in good time and was quite nice. Tapas is the way to go in this restaurant. Dinner followed in a timely manner. The atmosphere is fine but perhaps inappropriate if one is looking for an intimate setting. My rating is due to the dinner. We ordered Paella. The menu said "for 2" and was priced at $36. We shared the dish. It was flavorful but a little too oily. When our bill arrived, I was surprised to see $72 for the Paella. That apparently was their interpretation of "for 2". The dish was not worth $72. My husband explained all this to the server. To her credit she offered to make a deduction. We refused the offer, but would not be thinking of returning to this restaurant.

Beautiful Food & Experience

The food, ambiance, and service made this a wonderful experience. We regularly suggest Can Font to our friends.

Best Spaniard restaurant in Portland, in Oregon

By MariBosch2020 |

True gourmet Spaniard dishes, prepared and cooked by Spaniard staff.......delicious entrees, every bite. Great atmosphere, great and friendly staff, nice decor. You be glad you dine there!!!

Yes to food and "I will be back" to service

By Dmitri K |

First and foremost, the menu is really impressive: a great choice of original contemporary Catalan dishes. Not too long, not too short, appetizers go well with main entrees. Yes, delicious food, we particularly liked canelones and a mushroom-octopus-langostines dishes. The portions are not humongous, presentation is perfect, and so is the service. Near impeccable. Special kudos to whoever designed the place: you are not overwhelmed with it but a certain atmosphere is created, an atmosphere of modern Catalan restaurant. I liked the open kitchen concept, as well. Ok, this is not a budget place but if you feel like treating yourself, this is a very good option. Happy hour is 5 to 6 and there are a few items on the menu if you would like to take advantage of the happy hour. It is worth it! I think that this place would be good for both, romantic occasion or a business dinner.

Doesn't live up to the Hype

By Jefftimb |

I really wish this Spanish restaurant did in fact live up to the reviews. In all candor, it would have been nice to have world class Spanish food in the Pearl. So much for wishes now deal with reality, We felt that dinner was good, but nothing special. Our server tried hard to explain the items on the menu, but was language hampered. We did order a variety of dishes, none of which were bad, but in the same light none were super stars. Possibly over time this place may get it together, but in a Foodie town , time is not on it's side.

That was a great and excellent experience!!! Love this place and gorgeous food and staff!! Been there 4 times!!

By dilyanr2020 |

We been there more than 4 times. Last time been there with family and our friend from other country. He lives Spain and Spanish food. Was excellent and gorgeous evening, nice atmosphere and wonderful food, exactly!

Mediocre food is disappointing

By keri h |

We had really good service, and our wine by the glass was delicious. My issues are with the food. First, the $40 seafood paella. Mussels, shrimp, clams, salmon. Reasonable price for the portion, seafood was a bit overcooked. I did not like the texture or flavor of the salmon. The paella rice had no soccorat (sp?) which was disappointing. We also ordered beets, potatoes, and anchovies. The sides were good, but we expected tapas. Instead the potatoes were $18 and enough for four people, same w beets and anchovies. The sauces were all mediocre. So, I left spending $200 for a pretty mediocre meal that felt like casual, not upscale, dining.

Great paella

By gary b |

After reading the positive reviews, we decided to dine here. We were very pleased we did. The sangria was excellent. Then we shared a mixed green salad which was very fresh and the dressing was excellent. We then had the seafood paella with the large prawns. This was delicious. There was a good mix of seafood with small chunks of pork belly. Great combination. We finished with the sorbet which was refreshing and very tasty. Will recommend to friends.

It was good not great

By Monique F |

The people were great and the restaurant is very nice but for the cost, the food was average. Also, if I remember correctly, our meaus were old. I couldn't read the drinks on the back it was so faded. They replaced the meau for us but the replacement had food stains on it. It seems like a small thing to complain about but if you expect me to pay upwards of 30 a plate, I should have a clean easy to read meau.

Fantastic food and excellent service!

By kcbc85 |

From start to finish, our experience at Can Font was terrific. I have recently visited Barcelona and can say that the food was authentic. Our group of 7 were all impressed. Yummy piella! Wait staff were attentive and friendly and it was truly a flawless meal. Would definitely go back here!

Excited about Can Font

By esos2020 |

I live a block from Can Font and finally visited it for the first time with my family on 12/21. I am gluten-free and vegetarian, so when the restaurant first opened I was under the impression there would not be many options for me. However, when I walked by the restaurant more recently, I noticed the menu had more vegetarian options than I remembered seeing initially, and the menu was now labeled for gluten as well. We immediately made a reservation and brought my parents from out-of-town. I believe we tried every gluten-free and vegetarian option on the menu, in addition to another vegetarian option (with gluten), and everyone LOVED every single dish we ate. Two of the diners in my party aren't even vegetarian but they didn't miss any meat whatsoever. Raved about the vegan paella, all the veggies, and we even ordered a second salad because we shared the first and wanted more. I was also thrilled with the funky sidre drink on the menu, and plan to come back soon to enjoy this exact cider with these lovely dishes. The staff was all extremely helpful and friendly as well. Everything about our experience was highly enjoyable and we're looking forward to regular visits now and so glad to have this right across the park from us! Thank you again for accommodating those with common food sensitivities/restrictions.

Great Place to spend a wonderful evening with Friends

By Sergeivo75 |

We visited this place with another couple and were not disappointed. Good mix of traditional catalunyan food with more modern notes and flawless execution of the paellas Only thing missing is a good fideua ! Wine list pairs nice with the plates Will definitely come back when we want to share a good bite and wine with friends

I can’t say enough how wonderful this place is.

By Intlgal007 |

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this restaurant was! The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and the staff closely follows all Covid safety precautions. My boyfriend and I hadn’t dined in a restaurant for some time but we heard such wonderful things about Can Font that we decided to go out for a treat. We were not disappointed. The Paella de Marisco was excellent, a good combination of rice and seafood. The croquetas de Pernil Iberico were lovely as well as the Patatas Bravas con Lomillo. We didn’t have drinks here but they looked well prepared and you can tell there is attention given to detail and presentation. Will definitely be going again.

Food outstanding; service very inconsistent for this level of resto

By martincath |

Second visit for the wife's birthday, and while the food remains at the excellent level of our first time the service dropped significantly in quality. We had already decided not to repeat any of the dishes from first time around (despite the fact we 100% would be happy to eat them again) so that we could sample a broader range from the menu. This time we opted for the Bellota ham and Croquettes to start, Duck and Octopus/Scallop entrees, and Crema Catalan to finish (first time around we did the mixed hams, canelon, and seafood paella and were too stuffed to order dessert at all). The Bellota ham took us right back to prior trips to Spain - this is the good stuff, and unlike e.g. Jackrabbit who do import some pretty serious ham, it's actually served correctly at room temp instead of chilled. Quite literally melt-in-your-mouth material. Then things went sideways - our server had ordered the wrong dish and a plate of canelon was put in front of us (I should add that the bussers were very efficient, plates brought and cleared promptly and water refilled with ninja-like stealth). We were mid-chat and took a few seconds to actually look at the dish, do a double-take, rotate a piece to ensure we did get the canelon again rather than the croquettes being a non-traditional shape. From then we literally spent over four minutes attempting to get our server's attention - from the subtle slightly-raised hand, to three repetitions of 'excuse me,' to trying the same with a different server passing our table. He passed our eyeline multiple times without once looking around, staying intently focused on whichever table he was heading to or the pass on the way back. Once we actually got him there and explained we'd ordered the croquettes, our expectation was an apology and given the error frankly for us to be offered to keep the canelons and either comp them or also bring our correct order. There's no way food left on a table that long was going to served to anyone else so letting customers keep it has been our experience literally every time such an error has happened. Instead we got no apology at all, a statement that he thought we ordered the canelon in a tone that left no doubt he thought we were the ones who screwed up! I informed him that this was our second visit and we already tried it so had deliberately NOT ordered it despite it being delicious, at which point he said he'd go and order the croquettes and whisked the plate away - we did see it presented to Chef then binned, so at least we can confirm it wasn't served to anyone else. Croquettes came - this time delivered by server himself but still no apology - and they were excellent. Both main courses were simply superb - possibly the best octopus we've ever eaten, everything cooked a pointe and accompaniments well-chosen on both dishes. The confit duck leg was served in small medallions wrapped in puff pastry and would have made a perfect vol au vent party nibble all by itself - with the sauce, mushrooms and nicely-pink duck breast it was an outstanding combo. With dessert we ordered two different wines - a madeira and a sherry. One unfamiliar sherry was listed by name but not type - when asked server was unsure and offered to check with bartender; I confirmed that if it was on the sweet end of the scale I'd try it, but if it was medium or lighter to bring me the Don PX instead. When he returned he confirmed I was getting the Don, but then proceeded to place this in front of my wife and her madeira in front of me. Fortunately I'm familiar with Don and was able to recognize after one sip that was not what I had - which explained why my missus thought her 'madeira' was particularly rich tonight! They were both very similar in colour and served in the same type of glass, so anyone sampling for the first time would have been very disappointed if they'd gone and acquired a bottle of either afterward. All-in-all, the server was basically not up to the standard of training/behaviour we've come to expect in high end restos - did not check in once over the entire course of the meal to see how our food was, which should happen regardless of the pricepoint you're dining at, but was otherwise polite enough and knew the food well enough to have been quite tolerable if we'd been eating in a more casual venue. I appreciate the more laidback vibe and lack of dress code of PNW fine dining in general, but this was either someone having a seriously bad night or who needs more training - it was chalk & cheese compared to the previous visit. If you are planning a special evening and the ambience is important to you, I cannot recommend Can Font to you at this time - maybe in a few months if the servers get ongoing training.

contemporary spanish cuisine in a stylish setting

We like to go here for business dinners and also take out-of-town friends who appreciate seasonal, creative cuisine. We don't eat meat and there are plenty of options for us. The paella, especially the skid ink one, is addictive!

Awesome Paella!

By Sam N |

We recently traveled to PDX for a long weekend. The foodie choices are numerous here. Prior to going, we read up on new hot spots and Can Font was one listed. We started with the canelones con setas. It came as four finger length pasta rolls filled with various meats, foie gras, black truffle and cheese. It was super delicious and great way start the night. We ordered margaritas to drink. The drinks were made to perfection. For our main dish, we tried the paella de mariscos. The dish had plenty of fish and shellfish. The rice was very delicious. We were bending forks on the bottom of the pan trying to get the last bite. It was the best dish of our entire trip. Don't pass this place up!

A little bit of Catalonia

By skidog |

Very enjoyable dinner for 4 on a Monday night. Our server, Juan was attentive bit not hovering. Good information and friendly. We shared starts of the stuffed canelons (delicious) and wild mushrooms with octopus and prawns (also delicious. Two of us shared the Paella de Peix. a very large portion that could easily be shared by 3 or 4. Lots of fish and shellfish. Personally I would like a little more heat in the spices but a very enjoyable dish. Our friends had the Halibut and the scallops and those dishes were hits as well. For dessert we shared a Chocolate Mousse which was very rich and flavorful yet was not filling. An excellent desert. Next trip I am trying the lamb shank.

Small plates Big Flavor

I had a fabulous birthday dinner. Matt our waitstaff was attentive, personable and very helpful. We had the sangria and requested a special cocktail that was tasty and Fruity. The bar did a great concoction. The patates brava and Croquettas were light and flavorful. We added the shirt steak to our patates... delicious. The paella was amazing. Bursting with flavor and a wonderful blend of spices. For dessert the goat cheese in brioche with plum sauce was unique and flavorful. And it was my birthday and dessert came with a candle . The staff are so friendly making it a Great atmosphere Highly recommend Can Font. Enjoy!!

Hmm.... Don't bother

By Brad G |

Well, service was very good. Food was OK at best. Way over priced. $30 corkage fee - really??? I had the ox tail which was yummy but very close to cat/dog food. Obviously I'm not picky :-) My wife had a fish dish and she was not singing it's praises and at the price she should have had one of "those experiences". Honestly the space is lovely. The wait staff very nice and attentive and helpful. It's just not all that. Period. I was disappointed and will not return.

Not Close To Barcelona - But Tasty

By Philip G |

In spite of Can Font being empty at 8:00 PM on a Wednesday night in April, this is an excellent restaurant. Portland has an abundant of restaurant riches, so perhaps the fine people of the “Rose City” have become jaded, and only flock to what is “blooming” at the moment. However, Can Font is worthy of attention. The vapid and uninspiring decor does not do Can Font’s kitchen pride. Since the Portland location is the soul representation of this restaurant outside “Barthelona,” I expected to see a typical Barcelona tapas bar, with dishes displayed and customers slammed up against the bar. A Spanish tapas or pintxos bar has a cacophony of energy, adding excitement to the dining experience. Can Font is cavernous, with a hushed, solemn ambience, very incongruent and surprising. Yet, the food, service, and wine selection wefantastic. Our paella needed more soccarat. Soccarat is the slightly crusty flavor enhanced caramelized layer of crunchy rice that forms on the bottom of the paella pan, but the dish tasted wonderful nonetheless. Our Canelons Trufats were savory and rich, a perfect compliment to Can Font’s delicious bread. Usually I simply tolerate mushrooms, but the Saltejat de Bolets amb Pop i Llagostins octopus dish, forced me to fall in love with mushrooms. The heart is so fickle. Weirdly, Can Font serves no desserts, so my craving for Creme Catalan was never satisfied. We had a great experience at Can Font. It ain’t Barcelona, but the food is damn good.

Hell no I'm not going back

The food was amazing, as it has been the last 5 or so times we’ve been there. The service, however, was so bad I doubt we’ll ever be back. How this place is at all related to a Michelin star restaurant is beyond us. No problems with the round of cocktails and appetizers. When we ordered our dinner we asked to speak to someone about which wine we should order. Instead of someone coming over to talk with us, the bartender showed up with an open bottle and offered a taste, which was odd, but we went with it. He didn’t seem to care what we thought about what he’d brought, he offered to open anything we wanted for a taste, and then said he’d be right back with another bottle he wanted to recommend. We said okay but he never came back with the taste or to talk at all about the wine we wanted to order. We waited for a long time. When our waitress finally came back, we ordered a bottle (we just had to take a guess at this point since no one would talk to use about a suggestion for wine). Our dinner was served. We asked again about the wine. The bartender finally showed up but with something other than what we ordered. When we questioned him about it, he said, in essence, the wine list wasn’t accurate and that the bottle he’d brought was the only bottle in the vintage we ordered left. He did not say this when he dropped the bottle off—we had to question him about why it wasn’t the right bottle. It is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant to provide a bottle that wasn’t ordered without telling the customer. If you don’t have the wine, be honest and talk about what you brought as a replacement. Just because it is the same vintage doesn’t mean that it is just as good as the bottle ordered. When we asked about the price of the replacement, he didn’t even have that information. He eventually brought a bottle of what we ordered in a different vintage, but again, without any explanation- he just left the two unopened bottles on the table. His attitude was (rudely): this is what we have, what do you want? The bartender (or our waitress) offered to bring the owner or manager (no one would ever tell us his name, despite our repeated requests). The manager showed up but took absolutely no control over the situation. Instead, eventually, without engaging us at all or giving any apology, he asked (in a somewhat rude manner) what we wanted to do. We asked for a different bottle off of the menu. He said fine. 45 minutes later, we were done with dinner and still had not received any wine. Plates were taken away and the waitress came back to let us know that she needed to remove the bottle of wine from our check and she’d be back with the bill. At least 5 minutes after that, she showed up with the receipt (we very surprised nothing was even taken off for their inept service). We put our credit card out and again waited. 10 minutes later no one stopped by so we left all we had in cash (covered at least the bill). This was the worst service we’ve had in years. The chefs are fantastic and we’ve loved everything we’ve ever eaten here. If you are willing to chance horrible service (we’ve also had good service), try it—but bring a spare bottle of wine with you.

Excellent Food and service

We had a lovely evening enjoying the foods and wines. I highly recommend this place is on your To-Do list in Portland. The Pan de Tomate and was a pleasant surprise. The paella with Squid ink was amazing.

Paella

Birthday

By rfrueh |

Birthday dinner with the family. I loved the ambience, we were able to talk to each and not scream, the food was delicious and service was attentive and friendly. We pretty much ate our way through the tapas which were all fantastic with the sautéed vegetable not necessarily in that group. We then shared the paella negra which was super, we will definitely be back. Forgot about the dessert, DO NOT SKIP on dessert.

Very tasty tapas

By Justin W |

Delicious tapas that didn’t disappoint, tastiest bravas in a long while and the pork belly spot on. Good service, great cocktails.

Great Wine and Great Food!

By nomadicjump |

I arrived at Can Font around the time it opened. I loved the open floor plan of the restaurant and having the opportunity to see inside the kitchen space. We were seated just next to the kitchen and we could see so many of the dishes being prepared, which definitely made us anxious to taste a few. After posing quite a few questions about the menu and such, I started out with a ceviche while my friend ordered the croquettes. Our waiter was born in Spain and my friend is from the Dominican Republic. With that, they were able to communicate in Spanish. This was a real pleasure for my friend and it made the experience feel even more authentic. We decided on a rosé, which paired perfectly with our appetizers upon their arrival. The ceviche was incredibly fresh. I love ceviche and I was happy that it didn't have an overly citrus flavor, which I find to be the case at some establishments. My friend really enjoyed the croquettes. The presentation was simple yet clean. We were enjoying our appetizers when we decided on the squid ink paella. This was not without me pushing my friend to be adventurous as he was a bit nervous about the idea of ink. As we continued eating, the restaurant began to pick up traffic. It is a new restaurant, so most of the patrons were posing questions about some of the items as well. When our paella arrived, we were excited to taste. It came with an aioli that we were advised to stir into the paella as we spooned it onto our plates. The paella had a beautiful consistency and we loved the taste the aioli added. We finished the meal chatting and drinking the rest of the rosé. It was a treat to see so many of the dishes we had considered ordering going to other tables. This is definitely a place on my list to revisit when I am in Portland. The menu is limited in some regards, but there is something to please anyone who is open to new flavors. The restaurant is located in the updated Pearl District. So after dining, we went for a walk in a neighboring park as it was a beautiful day. If in the area and looking for something different, stop by this place for a great meal.

Different restaurant

By AnnElizabeth97123 |

Interesting space and menu; descriptions of items don’t exactly give you an idea of what you will be getting. Attentive waitstaff. Starters aren’t the usual; only one salad available. Entrees are mainly seafood; good monkfish and lingcod. Desserts are good but not amazing.

Traditional Spanish Food (Not Mexican, or others)

By John D |

Salmon Escabeche starter was unique and outstanding. Paella enrtrees available 4 different ways. We had a more simple one with Shrimp, Clams, fish and scallops for two people.amd a good Spanish red wine. Excellent! Professional, courteous servers.

How nice 😁🐙

By richard g |

We really enjoyed the space and the overall ambiance was very nice. The dishes we ordered were all good and there were several that we want to try the next time we go. The seafood Paella was good but we prefer a fluffier rice preparation it maybe we missed it on the menu. The octopus was very good, we should have ordered more!

A Welcome Addition to Portland

By jcinpdx |

Can Font is a wonderful addition to the diversity of Portland restaurants. It is a Catalonian restaurant that uses many locally-grown products, such as vegetables and seafood (among others); it is just not another "Portland fusion" restaurant that has Catalonian or Spanish themes or influences. We had an excellent dinner, starting with the can't-miss fritters. Our main course was the squid ink paella, which was outstanding. The seafood and rice were each cooked perfectly, and the saffron flavor was wonderful. The flavors melded superbly. We had a flan for dessert, which seemed to us to be less sweet than most flans in restaurants, an improvement. The wine list had good bottles at many reasonable price points, as well as some higher priced. We relied on our server for wine recommendations, and he commendably made some suggestions over the price range. The service was also fine. Our server paid attention to us (e.g., we never had to refill our own wine glasses) but didn't hover over us. Some here have commented on the noise level. I think we're pretty sensitive to the issue. Can Font does not have a quiet, hushed air, and the noise level can be noticeable. But we didn't find the noise intrusive, nor did it interfere with the conversation between the two of us. The cost is in line, perhaps a slight bit less, than other Portland area fine dining restaurants. In this case, the cost is well worth the experience.

A Superb Pearl District Restaurant

By David H |

We were impressed by Can Font's food, service, and ambiance on our first visit to the restaurant. The starters we chose--Canelons enhanced by black truffle and a Mixed Green Salad dressed with a delicious house vinaigrette--set an ideal stage for the entrees we ordered--Lamb Shank and Pork Loin--both of which were perfectly cooked and sauced. The Chocofont, for dessert, provided an excellent sweet ending to our meal and was attractively-presented. Our server, Juan, was gracious and especially helpful in answering our questions about menu items and suggesting wine pairings. Although the dining room was full, noise was moderate, which makes Can Font a good spot for both couples and larger groups.

Great Spanish food

By Alexia Droz |

We are huge fans of Spanish food and we loved the food at Can Font. We found the Pan con Tomato excellent, and the Iberico Jamon was killer. The bread was amazing. We also ordered the grilled octopus and it was outstanding. We also had the Zarzuela de Mariscos and we just could not get enough of the broth ... For desert the Chocofont was pretty amazing as well... Overall, we had a excellent dinner with great service!

Refined, Elegant Spanish Food

By alexqueso |

Great food, super fun atmosphere, friendly staff and great location - what more can you ask? Tapas and paella as well as excellent cocktails and super convenient and cool location. Only downside of this place is you cant make a reservation online. You need to call or send an email. Otherwise - it's a PDX must-list!

Nice Addition to the Restaurant Scene in the Pearl

By BigOrangeCat |

A rather unique restaurant that brings the flavors and ambiance of NW Spain to the Pearl District. You definitely are immersed in the Spanish atmosphere, although that meant having many explanations from the servers to understand dishes before ordering, but they were very helpful (and patient) while we asked many questions. The starters are on the small side (and a bit on the expensive side), but that allowed us to taste may creations from the kitchen. The stuffed Canelons Trufats were delicious, just wish there were more (4 small canelons are served, but then it is a "small" plate). The main courses followed suit with the starters, i.e., expensive given the small portions (although we Americans have that large portion expectation mind-set, that doesn't really line up with European cuisine). However, although he paella fell into this category expense wise, it was a good size portion (advertised for 2), and could easily provide enough for 4 servings along with sampling some other small plates. Just be aware that the Arros Negre is a little on the salty side, maybe due to the squid ink? The wine list has lots of good Spanish wines, but you most likely will need a recommendation from your server, unless you are fluent in Spanish and familiar with Spanish wines. Give this Catalan cuisine a try for an experience out of the ordinary with respect to the normal Portland restaurant scene.

Delicious and enjoyable food, drinks and dessert

By Vanjo |

Enjoyable 2 couples birthday night out. Well balanced drinks. For starters we ordered seared mediterranean octopus(excellent), canelones trufados and a salad. The Paella Negra was wonderful. We also had ordered lamb shanks but really didn't need it and it really didn't complement the others. Dessert and port completed a very enjoyable evening. Alejandro's service was delightful.

More happy hour fun--so much good food

By shewholovestoeat |

This place was amazing. The open concept is really fun. You can watch your food be prepped and served. Entertaining. We tried lots of items. Everything was so good. Here is a rundown-- Canelones Trufados --canelons stuffed with chicken, beef, pork, foie gras, black truffle, parmesan, emmental cheese Croquetas de Pollo-chicken croquettes, picada sauce, alioli Gambas al Ajillo
-wow! shrimp that melt in your mouth Saltejat de bolets--amazing mushrooms Amanida mixta--one of the best salads ever Great drinks too. Service is on point. Attentive, helpful and friendly. On the spendy side, but worth it.

Go for the Tapas

By AZChefCC |

While in Portland on vacation, we ate at this restaurant, which was very close to our hotel. We started with three tapas. Our first one was the MELONES & CHICHARRONES (pork belly, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, cucumber, spiced pistachio-honey mousse, intentional harvest microgreens). Although we’ve never had that combination of flavors before, they went together very well. The melons were great and the pork belly was crispy and delicious. Next, we went with the PULPO & VIEIRA A LA PLANCHA (seared Mediterranean octopus, scallop, harissa picada, romesco sauce, Intentional Harvest microgreens). It had a small piece of octopus and a single scallop. What it lacked in quantity, it made up for in quality – absolutely delicious. Octopus can become rubbery if even remotely overcooked. This was not. The final tapa was CROQUETAS DE PERNIL IBERICO (cured Iberico ham croquettes, lemon-aleppo aioli). It was also delicious – crispy and salty. Each of these dishes had a delicious sauce that complimented it perfectly. That was the best of the meal. Then, we ordered the PAELLA DE MARISCOS (saffron-seafood stock, salmon, mussels, clams, shrimp, sofrito, picada sauce). Now, I love a good sofrito, but this was bordering on burnt. There was very little rice and, either they were out of salmon or they forgot to put it in as it was non-existent. After such small portions, we were still a little hungry, so we had TARTA DE QUESO (Basque inspired cheesecake, cream cheese, vanilla, lemon, sour cream, seasonal gastrique). Honestly – the worst piece of cheesecake I’d ever eaten. It had very little flavor and the “gastrique” was equally flavorless. If I were going to return, I would stick to tapas, which were delicious and maybe do a few more (such as the Crab Croquettes or the Spanish Squid), skip the paella and go elsewhere for dessert. Three tapas, paella for 2 and cheesecake was over $300 – a little high, even by downtown Portland standards.

Barcelona in my Portland back yard

Excellent seafood paella, good wine selection, pleasant and helpful service. It's one of the best - and most unusual - restaurants in Portland's Pearl District.

Great tapas restaurant

We walked in without reservations and the host seated us right away. Our server, Rachel, was very attentive and the food was excellent. A wonderful experience for our first night in Portland.

Amazing Food, Service & Ambiance

By Jovana R |

Can Font is my new favorite in Portland. Can Font consistently delivers unique, yet familiar flavored dishes & top-notch service. The Spanish Style Ceviche, Canelons Trufats & Squid-Ink Paella, are out of this world! Great wine selection, at very reasonable price points. Con Font is a rare gem, much needed in the Portland culinary scene.

Awsome spot

The cured meat as a app was awesome, and will get again when I go back. the rest of the meal was very good and the service was excellent

Gourmet birthday dinner saved the day

By SH2022 |

What can you do to celebrate during lockdown in a pandemic? Can you even feel comfortable celebrating? We had intended to try Can Font at the end of an eventful day; instead it turned out to be a low-key, take-out celebration in itself. However, the food alone was of a quality to save the day from being ordinary. The seafood, The paella and the roasted vegetables were all done on point. The wontons were special. The unusual, superb dish, the zarzuela de mariscos, will call to me to return. I think that it with a good salad and wine would be a perfect meal. I cannot comment on the ambiance, which looks lovely when we walk by normally. Nor can I comment on the service except to say that the man who handed us the food bag was prompt and charming and even returned with a birthday surprise that finished off the meal perfectly. (Oops, he wasn’t wearing a mask. He should.) The prices were good, much better than usual. The quality rivaled the best European restaurants we have experienced. We were happy and will return.

Best paella in town

By PeckCheck |

From starters to the paella, the food was excellent. They have the real bellota iberico, which was quite a treat!!! And the arroz negre was the best in town. It really made me nostalgic for Barcelona....

Enjoy Catalan cuisine

By ejkim2020 |

Quiet & Relaxing atmosphere. Delicious food. Enjoy Catalan food. Honestly I don't know the difference between Spanish and Catalan food, but I enjoy the most at Can Font than any other spanish restaurants.

Good every time

By MeaganWristen |

We’ve eaten here twice now and both times were phenomenal. I really didn’t think they could do better than the first time we visited, but somehow they did. The filet mignon paella was unbelievable and that’s the portion for two people. That was enough feed all four of us. The patatas bravas topped with steak were excellent. The dessert topped with berries pictured will knock your socks off. Sadly, I cannot remember what it was called.

I was hoping for much better

By PortlandTravlin_man |

Advertised as a Michelin Guide listed restaurant in Barcelona (not starred), and new to the North end of the Pearl District in Portland, I was hoping for a great dining experience. Can Font didn't deliver. The atmosphere is very nice in this new restaurant and the wait staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bulleit rye Manhattans were good. My daughter ordered a strawberry Mojito that both she and my wife thought was quite bad, and she had to send it back. The three of us were not impressed with the main courses. They were just of flat and not that interesting to the eyes or taste buds. We had the mixed seafood paella, monkfish and duck. The rice in the paella was quite nice, but there was very little seafood for the $44 price tag. A few mussels and clams and medium sized prawns, with really no fish other than a few small indiscernible pieces. The monk fish dish seemed pretty uninteresting and again the three of us didn’t enjoy it. Last, the duck was described in your menu as duck confit (and I think it also said leg). This was not a duck leg confit dish as I know it. The dish was two small pieces of medium rare seared duck breast, a small piece of shredded/braised duck wrapped in a filo like pastry. A confit duck leg is not what is served. Again, the favors in the dish were just not interesting and there wasn’t much food served for the $34 price tag. Overall bill with corkage and 4 cocktails was $220. I don’t mind spending that kind of money for 3 people if I am getting a meal that pleased the senses. We were hoping for a meal we could enthusiastically recommend to friends, but at this time we cannot. The restaurant only opened a couple of weeks ago so I hope to try them again to see if things improve. I would like to see this restaurant succeed.

fantastic Paella

By Amanda K |

The seafood paella is the best I've ever tasted, and I lived in Spain for a year and have tried a lot of paella.

Great food, bring earplugs!

By Randy S |

We did the tasting menu, which is only available for groups of 6 or more. $50 per person, I thought it was quite reasonable for the high quality of the food offerings. There were about 4 different appetizers, then two paellas, a scallop dish and a meat dish, then 4 more desserts! I would have given Can Font 5 stars, but... The only drawback is that it is so LOUD that conversation is difficult. The space is nice, the waiter was from Marbella, Spain and very friendly if not too attentive. Overall I would definitely recommend Can Font. It's almost like going to Barcelona...

A surprising disappointment

By Dave T |

We had high expectations. We love Spanish food, specially from the Catalonia region. Many of the reviews had nice things to say, so we tried Can Font. But we will not be back. There is a problem with high-end restaurants in Portland that I have mentioned in other reviews. Too often they justify high prices with fancy sounding dishes that make for good menu writing but which are major disappointments to the palate. Can Font is in this group. There is a lot of prep involved in some its dishes, no doubt, a lot of fuss and fanciness in the presentations. But the sadly absent ingredient is taste A delicious sounding dish of "langoustine" and "octopus" turned out to be a pile of slightly over-cooked mushrooms with tiny pieces of these ingredients. The description on the menu justified the price, the actual dish did not. A nice-sounding velouté with scallops turned out to be a rather bland velouté (more French than Spanish) surrounding a single small scallop. This was repeated dish after dish. The oxtail ragout main course was completely tasteless. The dominant flavor was the mashed potato it was served on. The frustration level was magnified by the fact that our waiter was one of the friendliest and likable you could ever imagine and the dessert and wine selections were quite good. Portland needs a great Spanish restaurant. This is not it.

Excellent Spanish Restaurant

By Blues_Rocker |

Our daughter and son-in-law took us to dinner at this excellent Spanish restaurant last night. This place has only been open for a month or so and it is already a hot spot. The food was excellent and the service was just great! The Iberian ham for starter was the best that I have ever had. I really enjoyed the monk fish main course that I had, and my wife's pork cheek was also excellent! The Cortado that I had with my desert was done just right! Overall, a truly enjoyable evening!!!

My wife and I went to Can

By Marc P |

My wife and I went to Can Font to celebrate her birthday. We had a fine evening. The staff was attentive, answering all our questions. The cocktails, tapas, wine and paella were delicious. There is no kitsch in the design of the place. There’s a large photo mural of a gaudi building in the back and some subtle Spanish music but the focus is on the food and drink.

Our favorite restaurant!!!

By Dilyara Nazarova |

We so love Spanish food!! It was wonderful evening, great atmosphere, lovely people and service. Food was amazing!! Highly recommend this place!!!

Good but not consistent!

By tellatraveltale |

We dined in this restaurant twice over the last six months and the review is based on both dining experiences. The first time we were in a larger group hence got to try a lot of variety of dishes. For appetizers we ordered Pa amb tomaquet and the Papatas bravas. The Pa amb was good, the bread was really delicious. The patatas bravas were okay, there wasn't much seasoning in the aioli. For the main course we tried the seafood paella, lamb shank and a seafood stew. The paella was very good but not the kind with saffron, the lamb was very succulent and the seasoning was very good, the seafood stew was very flavourful. We ordered two desserts out of which the chocolate dessert was very good. During the first visit we wanted to order another paella but the server said that the kitchen was closed. We felt that the server should have been a bit more attentive and asked our table if we needed to place an order for anything more as the kitchen would be closing soon. We dined here after a couple of months and didn't have the same experience. We again tried the paella and the lamb. The paella didn't have as much of flavour, more of the onion and garlic sofrito would have made it tastier. The lamb was succulent but the lacked seasoning. Overall the food was good but not consistent.

Can Font - CAN NOT!

By well_traveled |

We just returned from a week in Barcelona and were very excited to try Can Font. So with an anniversary coming we made reservations and had high hopes. Boy were we disappointed. First and foremost we were disappointed in the legendary service that was much hyped. We were seated with the menus and were left to stir on those for a long time before being asked for a drink order. After our drink order it seemed like 20 minutes before we were asked for our dinner order. There were maybe 4 other tables occupied when we were sat, so they weren't busy. That by itself was bad, but not once did they come back and ask if we wanted another drink or cocktail, not once did they come during dinner to refresh our water glasses, not once did they come by and ask if we needed anything. Here's your food, didn't bother to explain the dishes, nothing. SO disappointed in the service. We were equally disappointed in the food. The bread with garlic and tomatoes were under seasoned, you should be able to taste something other than the bitter unripe tomatoes. We asked for salt but that arrived to late to be of use. We also had the canelons. The beef, chicken, pork, foie gras filling was a bit mealy and was the texture of a bad chimichanga meat. Not bad, but definitely not wowed by the flavor nor the texture. The scallop in the gazpacho was well cooked and flaky but was overpowered by the abundance of raw onion in the soup. My duck confit was overcooked and flavorless. The sauce was way too sweet and overpowered the duck. I expected a nice seared duck breast but instead had a limpid medium well piece of duck covered in a cloying sauce. My partner had a cod slathered in Mousseline was more like mayonnaise. We decided to cut our losses and left before dessert. Will not return.

Plates and more plates

By dharry |

We were a party of nine and this is an ideal venue for sharing. Everything was delicious and we just kept ordering. Our wait staff was exceptional and served and cleared swifthly, keeping the wine glasses full. Some of the best flavors I have ever had. Can't wait to be back in Portland; this will be a repeat stop.

Disappointed

By Nicole C |

We have been excited to try Can Font for quite a while and left disappointed. The service was outstanding however the food was mediocre. Every dish was subpar and the squid ink paella was so salty I could barely eat it. Both my husband and I woke up the next day with bellyaches and not sure if it was from the food or not. There are so many great restaurants in Portland so I won’t be returning or recommending.

Great "Experience" Spanish Cuisine

By thegoodlife28 |

After a long day of airline travel-meeting friends and a walk from the hotel - it was a wonderful evening. Our waitstaff was excellent and were able to answer all our questions. We decided to order off the Tapas menu and were not disappointed ordering the Medula; Pan Con Tomate; and Patatas Bravas adding the most delicious, tender shirt beef I have ever tasted. Of course we shared a bottle of great wine and a dessert: Merengue De Avellana - milk chocolate ganache, hazelnut, butter cream and hazelnut sponge cake (makes my mouth water thinking of it). All so good!! Highly recommend!

Amazing Food, Service & Ambiance - At a price

By StefanLong911 |

We find this to be one of our two favorite Spanish restaurants in Portland. Its a place (for us a family with two teens) for special occasions. We've been here a few times. Paella's are always amazing. Patas Bravas, Octopus, and ohhh the Jamon D'Iberico!

Classy paella place

Excellent food and service !

By Louis P |

We went to Can Font for a special occasion dinner. The food was excellent, and service was friendly, helpful and attentive. However, when we arrived for a 7:00 pm reservation, we were the only couple in the restaurant. This diminished the dining experience. We hope their business will pick up, or they may become another victim of the Portland restaurant scene.

A taste of Spain

By Ash O |

Delightful dishes of stuffed canelons, crocquetes, Iberica ham, and seared octopus. Completed with a dark chocolate and ice cream sensation. Location, service and ambience was excellent with an open kitchen and plenty of window seating.
