Awesome pizza

By Beth J |

Some of the best pizza I have ever eaten! The Honey Bastard is a must try!!! Quick and friendly service as well. Definitely s must when visiting Dallas!

I guess I'm not a fan..:(

By michael m |

Great place, great service, great location and great atmosphere, I am just not a fan of their pies! 2nd time to Cane's, both times the crust was soggy, just not my style. Very busy place in a decent location.

Best Pizza!!

Best pizza we have had in a very long time. Trip advisor recommendations have never disappointed. We’ll definitely be back!

Great food, Terrible Customers, Great Tragic People Watching

By YouRememberUs |

If you like to enjoy a local beer or nice Chianti with delicious food in a beautiful restaurant while watching train wreck Lakewood families get drunk while their children run shrieking through the restaurant, you're in luck! Me? I think the food is good enough to merit the pain of the nanny crowd. Plus it's fun to stick a foot out to trip the racing children. Last time, I managed to crop dust a large party of negligent vapid parents on my way out. Seriously, great food, serious talent in this place. We love it. The Lakewoodites are pack animals, so if you go at the right time, they're easy to avoid.

Pizza undercooked, service poor

By john k |

Monday night. Sat outside with four adults and two small children. Waitress kept forgetting order, pizza missing plus waited 15 minutes for a beer. Beer was very good and cold! Pizza ok but underdone!

rated the best and I see why!

My husband and I shared a Cesar salad and the special k. WOW really great pizza and the salad was terrific too. Service was very good and attentive and loved sitting outside.

One of the Best pizza in Dallas

By Vincentlap |

Being Italian, it's difficult to find a real pizza in Dallas, but Cane Rosso is definitely the right place to go for a good pizza, with good selection of Italian wines. In a word, a must go !

World Class Pizza

By PGAPRO2006 |

I've eaten at both locations now, and Love the Deep Ellum location, but the White Rock edition is just as funky, and has same personality. quirky is a fair description, and so are the Pies. This not your same old cheese and pepperoni editions, first the mozzarella is house made, the tomato's used are San Marzanos, all the Pies are 14'. Only the freshest of ingredients are used, and the taste is unmistakable. Don't walk, run to the nearest Cane Rosso. My fav is the Luana, but that's just me. They even have a Limited Edition "Star Wars" pie. May the force be with you.

Best pizza I've ever eaten

By LanceRyan |

There is a time and a place for dominos. If you are hungry for that try Cane Rosso on a different night. But if you want to have something amazing, go give it a shot.

A real disappointment.....

By Papa Bri |

Family birthday dinner, 14 of us, one waiter. One. Pizza was pretty good but some of the appetizers were absent any flavor, and my chicken fettucini alfredo was wothy of a school cafeteria. Never did ask if I'd like another pinot. Sorry, but if you are expecting anything Italian other than pizza, this place is not for you. The worst part was that AFTER we were throught with the birthday cake, the opening of presents, signing the check and getting ready to leave, there were STILL piles of dirty dishes from the beginning appetisers and min dishes left on the table. Disgusting. Nothing is less appetizing than half-eated leftover piled-up food on the table in front of you while trying to enjoy the main course and then dessert. Managers....TRAIN YOUR STAFF.

Perfect Pies for Pizza Purists

Cane Rosso's second location at the south end of White Rock Lake is large but getting a table on a weekend night can require a bit of a wait. They take reservations on-line for parties of 6 or more and it's best to book a week or more out for a prime time weekend spot. Voted best pizza in Dallas numerous times and recognized as one of the best pizzas in the state and country they specialize in Neapolitan pizza with strict standards as to what goes into the dough (0 or 00 Italian flour, water, yeast and salt) and are cooked at 900 for about 90 seconds in a wood fire oven. this give you a crispy outer crust with a softer middle. They also make their own mozzarella daily and offer an extensive menu of topping combinations. I ordered the CHE CAZZO, apparently an Italian profanity with the notation on the menu "trust your pizzaiolo...always spicy" - it was delicious and quite spicy. Cara had the PROSCIUTTO E RUCOLA, a combination of prosciutto crudo, arugula, house-made mozzarella, shaved parmigiano, garlic and extra virgin olive oil. Another new favorite for us. Now that the weather seems to be turning towards spring the patio will be a favorite spot on the weekends. If you love pizza you have to give Cane Rosso a try!

Just like burnt popcorn, buy a Digoirno

By S.H.I.M |

I visited on Aug 15th in search of a vegan/vegetarian pizza for my birthday. I ordered online- a margherita pizza with Gluten Free crust& beyond meat crumbles, arugula,&fontina. When I arrived the area was okay, definitely not the upscale area of downtown Dallas, but it was safe& quiet. The drab feeling could be due to it being very deserted for a Saturday; perhaps because of covid. The establishment was laid back and apparently so was the chef. The pizza looked incomplete. The greens appeared to be dumped on top, the cheese was uneven and the crust didn't look cook thoroughly. This is confusing bc their pizzas are wood fire, so there should be no reason it was so chewy and not cooked thoroughly. However the absolute deal breaker was how the pizza crust tasted like burnt poprcorn but wasn't burnt. I could only tolerate 2 slices, then I threw aprox $30 it in the trash (cost of pizza). I've had amazing wood fire pizza in illinois- this is just disgusting Moral of the story eat that Digoirno in the freezer.

Loved the Meatball Lasagna!

By Jeanne B |

We visited Cane Rosso, on a Saturday and dined indoors. The big red Pig statue outside was a great photo opportunity for little ones. Saturday nights they offer this incredible Meatball Lasagna which tasted like fresh pasta with meat and sauce with not much or no cheese, which works for me. We ordered two types of the Neapolitan Pizza which were very good, and similar to pizzas at Eataly in Chicago. The appetizers were delish. Our server was friendly and accommodating with our needs. Very casual atmosphere. Only negative is that the restaurant is a little loud. I'd go back.

Great Atmosphere; Terrific Pizza

By Ana Carmen |

Visiting from out of town, and invited to birthday dinner with friends. There were 20 of us, sat in the back room. Plenty of space, good service. The pizza here is unique. The menu calls it Pizza Napolitana. They say it's to be eaten with a knife and fork, and that is true. They say it's soggy in the middle and a very thin crust. And that is also true. This is NOT NYC thin crust (which is crispy). But it is very good. The ingredients are what sets it apart, I think. Homemade tomato sauce, chunky mozzarella and great interesting/different toppings. It really is delicious. Also had a Caesar salad with anchovies (YUM!). The salad bowl is served to be shared with 1-2 others. The dessert pizzas are also very good. Good vibe on a Saturday night; great outdoor patio area. This place is hidden in a strip mall area, but don't be fooled. They have a number of craft beers & wine (no hard liquor). I would definitely recommend. But come prepared for a unique taste both in flavor and texture. Enjoy!

Very Good but Not Great

By Lynne0725 |

We stopped here after visiting the Dallas Arboretum at 9:00 p.m. We were surprised to find a restaurant open that late. We had four separate orders, two sandwiches and two of their 14" pizzas. I'm not used to paying over $10 for a pizza that size. The Gus pizza came with sausage, mushrooms, and mozzarella at $15. Most of the toppings were on one side of the pizza, but overall it was quite good. The Delia pizza, priced at $16 came with spicy bacon marmalade, grape tomatoes, mozzarella, and arugula; the only problem we had with this was the huge amount of arugula, and the spiciness of the bacon marmalade was definitely over the top. The meatball sandwich, priced at $12, came out warm,.not hot. They gave us a fresh hot one in exchange. The Johnny C sandwich, priced at $12, had prosciutto crudo, prosciutto cotto, hot soppressata, giardiniera, coppa, arugula, balsamic, and balsamic; this sandwich was incredibly spicy. My daughter opted to have this made as a panini and passed on the grape tomatoes. Our foodie at the table remarked that the mozzarella was not fresh. The restaurant is not easy to find as you must go around a small shopping center to the road in the back to find the restaurant. Each of the entrees was suitable for two people to share; we had a lot to take home. The service was excellent, especially our waitress Kat who we found knowledgeable and efficient.

Good lunch spot

By AVGTXN |

Friday lunch. A very slow day for lunch. Maybe six people in the large dining room other than our small group. The $13 salad and 10" pizza was a decent value. Larger pizzas received positive reviews. Very attentive service. There are better pizza places in town, but this one is worth another visit when in the area.

Excellent pizza - don't pass it up

By thed3 |

Our daughter had to take us here for pizza. She raved about so we went. From the outside it is not that appealing. The walk way to the entrance is bordered on one side with closed stores. Once in side it is entirely different. Well decorated. The pizza oven in plain view. All quite interesting. We ordered two pizza. A anchovies and a plain cheese. Both were delicious. Thin crust which we liked. Wine and beer were available. I had a craft beer which I wasn't too fond of and the the wife had Merlot which was ok. Anyway, it is a great place for pizzas and we saw some delicious looking salads being served. Try it you will enjoy it!

Excellent Pizza

By Mary Lou F |

We at dinner here, and got the Zoli and the Cane Rosso pizzas. We also got Fried Mozzarella. All was very good and the service was good. I'd choose the Zoli as the best.

Good pizza

By jerryd81740 |

Very good pizza. Only one size, 14 in. Quick service. On Gaston, but can’t see from street. Above and behind buildings on front.

Best pizza in DFW!

By Ellen C |

My husband and I absolutely love this place. The first time we went (it had just opened) we had such a good experience that we went back again the next night! The atmosphere is great and I love that you can watch the pizzas being made it the big oven. They have a great menu: pizza, meatballs, meats and cheeses, etc. Great beer and wine menu as well. We typically order the Caesar salad (a true Caesar), the meatball appetizer, and the "Emma" pizza. Now, here's where you need to pay attention...whatever you order, order it with "bacon marmalade". It will change your life. A friend showed us after many trips there and we have never gone back. It's an incredible bacon drizzle that they add. Seriously, out of this world. I have also heard the Honey B*stard is life changing, so we will try that on our next visit. I love the addition of Cane Rosso to the White Rock area. We have recommended Cane Rosso to so many friends and will continue to do so.

Waiting waiting waiting

By Adriannelm |

The food was good enough. But we waited for everything. Everything. It wasn't a lack of wait staff -there were plenty of servers running around. Once our food was delivered, no one checked on us until the check came. I never got my drink order. I ordered a pizza and it came out five minutes before anyone else's food.

Love the food and the outdoor patio!

By Texasgirl0915 |

I love the pizza, salads and the outdoor dining space. You can sit at the bar and watch pizza being made if that holds interest or you are dining alone. Cane Rosso is fun for a groups or solo diners. Dallas is famous for almost year round outdoor dinning and their patio is especially funky and relaxing

Good Zza

By Shea D |

We come here often on Sundays and sit at the bar. Why the bar? To avoid the entourage of little people. Usually this works. However, today a bunch of dumb people sat at the bar with their children. What is wrong with you??? This is nothing to do with the restaurant itself (maybe I am not-so-subtlety asking for a policy to disallow this?) but more an awareness check for parents who need help with social graces. We come because the pizza is good and fresh. I happily ask for an extra side of sauce to dip the crust. Today the pizza was a bit bare in places, but the extra sauce fixed it. The bartender, Rodrigo, was extra helpful getting warm from the kitchen. I have ordered things other than pizza and have always been quite pleased. The brussel sprouts are a fond memory. We will be back, and Cane Rosso has officially entered the rotation. The only weird thing is the meat. Picture attached. We have been here almost 2 hours and so has it. We can’t figure out what it is and why it has sat here for so long. I know you never want to know how the sausage is made, but you also don’t want to see it sit for hours. Please tell me this isn’t in the meatballs (my add to my pizza today).

Relaxing on Patio

By Ken H |

Always enjoy an evening outside on the Patio - where the Dallas 95* temp just doesn't seem to register on their patio - very comfortable. The Capra salad - excellent and refreshing - easily shared between the two of us. The Delia pizza with the bacon marmalade and roasted tomatoes is the best pizza in town. We enjoy our trip every time there - Patio please!

From a Pizza Hater.

By Mark K |

I normally will not eat pizza, however Cane Rosso is the exception. They have the best pizza ever, thin crispy crust, perfect amount of toppings, then last but not least ask for " bacon marmalade " to be added to your pizza. Second only to their pizzas are their salads. They make their own mozzarella, dough and sauces. Also have a great selection of beers and wines. They have an outdoor seating area that is great for kids when the weather is nice. Rosso's is generally packed on weekend nights,it is well worth the wait though.

Cane Rosso - the real deal when it comes to pizza....Neopolitan certified !!!

By LANCE O |

Cane Rosso pizza is flat out the best when it comes to Neopolitan pizza...the type of pizza that uses San Marano tomatoes for the sauce, and Bufala mozarella cheese, along with the wood fired oven...the pizza is simply really, really good. It is not fussy with a lot of ingredients and with a fancy stuffed or thick dough crust. Instead, the pizza is a thin crust that is excellent tasting all by itself, and just with just a topping or two, the experience is nothing you have ever tasted. Sure, many American-style pizzas are very good, and I eat them more often than not...but when you can get an opportunity to partake of a pizza made the original and official way that pizza was originally made in Italy...then you know what pizza is really like !!! Check out Cane Rossa, great pizza, great restaurant/bistro atmosphere, with excellent service, competitive pricing, a great bar and patio...you will most certainly have a super nice experince !!! Enjoy !!!

Great Pizza and Atmosphere near White Rock Lake!

By rudyruru |

We love Cane Rosso by White Rock. The pizza is great&service is just as good. We try to go on Tuesdays for $5 pizza night. It's not your typical pizza-its super super thin crust....but excellent. It is family friendly&date night appropriate too. At the White Rock locatiom there is a cool patio to sit on during the 47 days a year that it is nice outside in Dallas. Enjoy.

Cold beer, hot pizza

By Barbara B |

I've been her several times. the service is always good, beer nice and cold and the pizza good. This last itme I have pasta with chicken an shrimp. The portion was good but Only 4 shrimp which cost me $7 dollas extra. Hum they need to up the number of shrmp for that amount. Ony thing I do not like is that the noise level is pretty high. so if yoiu want a nice quite dinner, this is not the place to go

Great wood fired pizza

By Pricem36 |

The service and food are very good. We went for lunch on a Saturday and our pizza was out in no time. Also have a good offering of local beers. Definitely worth a visit if you like a good pizza and beer.

Great Pizza!! Arrive Hungry and GO FOR IT!!

By Christine B |

Our group had a wonderful time and everything we ate was great. We even tried three dessers and boy were we ever in for a treat! Go FOr IT!

Good, Not Great

By Tastefullycoco - The Simple Treasures |

The pizza was good, but not really outstanding. We ordered three pizzas and the Honey Bastard was the best of the three. I was more impressed with some of the appetizers we ordered despite them arriving 10 minutes after our pizza order and that was even after waiting 15 minutes to order the appetizers! Very slow service and disorganized. The restaurant is also very loud.

Too much hype

By Geoffrey Z |

I don't get all the hype. The pizza is alright. The price was alright. Our server was a bit anxious to explain Neopolitan pizza to us and to disabuse us of the idea that neopolitan is Italian for soggy. If I just tried the sandwiches I would give it 5 stars. That was outstanding. I probably would have been happier had I not expected over the top delerious delicious. I will go back eventually for another sandwich and maybe try the pasta.

mouth watering pizza

By pots_and_momo |

great pizza and a glass of wine sitting outside as it cools down in the evening. It's really good! Kids love the red pig!

I don't get it, it's not that spectacular.

By thecelt4u2 |

Don't get me wrong, the pizza was OK. But, seriously what is all the hoopla about this place being on DDD? I have been to dozens of DDD restaurants and most are average at best. The show and restaurants scratch each other's back. Get it!???? Back to the pizza; it was soggy but still tasted ok. The price??? Way over priced for what you get. Try it and then tell me in wrong....

Pizza....but not.

By Kimberly J |

I had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant while on a recent visit to Texas. I was craving pizza and read the reviews about Cane Rosso White Rock and decided to try it. First problem, the address is a little deceiving for those who don't know the area. My friend and I kept driving around looking for it, but unable to locate it on the street listed for the address. We finally pulled over and was directed to a an area behind the stated street. Second, our server did an excellent job of telling us how the pizza was cooked but did not tell us we would want to order one pizza each. It only took a couple of minutes to prepare because it was cooked at a very high temperature in a stone oven. Third, once the pizza arrived, it was apparent that it was definitely not like Giordano's!!!! It was very thin and kind of doughy. Although it had a nice flavor, it was not what I expected and a little disappointing. I would highly recommend this place if you are on a diet and not very hungry.

Good "craft" pizza

By Tlcwacjac |

Head here if you like interesting combinations on your pizza but if you are a cheese and pepperoni kind of person you might need to Live a little and give it a try!

Late dinner

By Victerine |

The salads are super amazing! The pizza is also really good (they are known for their pizza). Great selection of beers and friendly staff.

Birthday gathering

By amfaber911 |

We were in town visiting family and friends and a friend had her birthday dinner here. The atmosphere was awesome! My husband and I ordered 2 separate pies and finished them both! The calzone with chocolate (can't remember the exact name) was to die for! Will def dine here again when in Dallas!

Excellent Lunch for All

By sheilal921 |

This restaurant offered pizza for all at the table including vegan diners. The choices were wonderful. We started with salad - two large salads were enough for all 10 of us to have a bit. Then the pizzas came to the table, warm and beautiful. The crust was thin and toppings were extremely delicious but the two I tasted were undercooked. The middles were a bit soggy. We were somewhat disappointed but I don't think this will stop us from trying Cane Rosso in the future.

Best Pizza in Dallas

By Giovanni Hager |

This is one of the best pizza places in Dallas "state side", certified Napolitano pizza "900 degree oven". They use imported ingredients such as Mozzarella di Bufala and San Marzano Tomotoes, they also have in my opinion the best Italian beer, Birra Menabrea. I am a first generation Italian (my mom immigrated from the Abruzzo region of Italia) and I have visited many times.

Incredible Pizza, pasta and salad..and super cool atmosphere

By sandih |

The flour they use is double zero so it soaks up all the yummy juice from the sauce and meat and make the crust soft and foldable. I don't normally care for that until I went to Florence and discovered that kind of pizza there. Cane Rosso uses meats and cheeses from local sources (like Jimmy's Food Store, our favorite Italian import store) and every thing I've tried is fantastic. The pastas can be a bit on the salty side so if you're sensitive to that, be aware. They have a custom wood-burning oven that cooks the pizzas in about 90 seconds or less. The simple salad comes tossed with a light and flavorful oil and vinegar dressing..so good that I cannot eat enough of it. The White Rock lake location is more kid-friendly with a large outdoor patio but the kids can be rowdy and loud; the indoor eating space echoes horribly. Pretty pricey but that has not stopped us from going back many times.

Not your average Pizza Place.

By 0000aabbcc |

I have been a couple of times and most recently with the visiting grandkids. Good pizza and a very distinct or special approach to great pizza.

excellent pizza

By Emery |

My sister and I always treat ourselves to Cane Rosso when we’re both in town! It’s an amazing pizza place. The pizza is cooked right there in front of you and all the food is always fresh. Their Caesar salad is also to die for. Highly recommend the dessert calzone as an end to a great meal!

killer artichokes, good pizza

By jdbirch |

Those deep-fried artichokes for an appetizer are most excellent, enough for four with the couple of pizzas. We ordered the Emma with the local sausage - very good with a scattering of red pepper seeds. Our daughter went with the house special on the chalkboard - pretty ordinary. Waitress was knowledgeable about the beers, then asked my opinion about my two choices of brews (always learning).

A new favorite.

By ERL972 |

Loved the pizza and salad. Excellent Sunday brunch. Great outdoor space and friendly service. We will continue returning.

Supposed to be dog friendly, not really

By Tracy J |

We got a recommendation for this place and were told it was pet friendly. I called ahead and was told they did indeed have a pet friendly patio. We live in an RV so we try and get the dogs out whenever possible. We got to the restaurant and were seated on the patio with our 3 dogs (2 Chinese Crested and a Standard Poodle). While we were accommodated, the staff was not very friendly and did not seem to be happy with the dogs, who were very well behaved. We were not offered water for the dogs and none of the staff acknowledged their presence. I went back to the car and got a travel bowl to give them water from our glasses. No one was rude, but I would not consider it to be a dog friendly place. We kinda felt as though we were being rushed out. The pizza and Brussels sprouts were very good.

Great patio an excellent Italian pizza!

By akaye777 |

Great place for a patio evening, whether it is a date, visit with friends or a family outing. The food is fantastic, and wine selection is excellent. Always great service and music, too. I don't particularly care for the dining room though. It's too big, and could use a bit more character. I do, however, generally prefer cozier places, so it is a matter of personal preference.

Yummm!

By CrozMo |

Great pizza, great salad, great outdoor seating area. Glad to have the new location in White Rock as we were frequent diners at the Deep Ellum location when we lived downtown. Best pizza in Dallas.

Yum!!

By muzzkins |

Amazing service and food. We tried three different pizzas and brought home dessert pizza. All were incredible. Fresh ingredients on a thin wood fired crust. Go!

Different pizza than I am used to, but very good

By cathefrank |

Had a bit of a hard time finding it. You need to go around back to more businesses than you see from the street. Pizza came fast and was VERY good. We hit happy hour and chose a couple of half price pizza's. Wasn't expecting that. One pizza feeds 2.

Great pizza; FRESH Ingredients

By hardiharhar_10 |

First time to Cane Rosso-White Rock location. Pre-birthday dinner, and so glad I chose this restaurant. Started with meatballs, and wow! Great flavor; 3 to share with bread and sauce. Then we opted for Zoli as our pizza. It is their version of pepperoni and sausage, but SO much better. Had a slight 'kick' and very delicious. Crust is perfect. Dessert we chose the smores calzone. Awesome!!

Awesome patio

By Desiree C |

Delicious food, good service, fun drinks, and a fabulous patio... Everything you need to have a good time in Dallas. Look at that moon!!

Favorite

By sassathon |

As much as I love the original Cane Rosso location in Deep Ellum, I might like this one better. Sure, it can often be overrun with kids running around, but I've found that going on off-nights or in off-hours often results in less kids and an even better meal. The pizza is always great, but some of my favorite meals in Dallas have been here on Sunday nights. Sit at the bar (preferably in front of the pizza oven for a fun view), order a local Lakewood Brewing Co beer, and the Honey Badger. It's not on the menu, but it's not only my favorite pizza in Dallas - it's my favorite thing to eat in Dallas, period. Habanero-infused honey + soppresata = happy tastebuds. You also can't go wrong with the Delia, Cane Rosso, or Paulie Gee. As for salads, I'm partial to the Capra. I haven't even mentioned the sandwiches or other starters, all of which are solid. And dessert! I crave the zeppole on a daily basis, and that's not an exaggeration. You get the point. Get to CRWR!

Average atbest.

By Jim D |

Using a Gift Card, wife and I stopped on a Sat. At 5 pm. We were the only people in the restaurant. Our spinach dip was excellent. Would have been better if the chips had been warm rather than cold. We split a pizza of half pepperoni and half meat ball. Very average. Cooked so quickly that it cooled quickly and we were eating cold pizza before long. Finished with a delicious chocolate cookie with ice cream. Overall, not our cup of tea. Back to Campisi’s.

Family time.

By JenniQ |

1st time there with my family, very delishhhhh and the On Rotation brewery next door is yummy😃🍺.Looking forward to coming backing for more goodness!

As good as ever!

By Cruz828 |

Haven't eaten here in over a year so I was amazed once again at how excellent this place is. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. For starters, we split a very generous portion of crispy, perfectly dressed Caesar salad with delicious homemade croutons. Then we opted for the Luanna pizza topped with spicy soppreseta and sausage. It is exactly what Neapolitan pizza should be and it was outstanding. The Cacio e Pepe (cheese and pepper) pasta was the best plate of pasta I have eaten in recent memory. All in all, I am so glad I revisited this place. It definitely won't be another year before I hurry back again.

Great Neapolitan style Pizza

By Hidrfoot01 |

Went to Cane Russo after a great time At the Dallas Arboretum. Large open space and instead of waiting 15 minutes for a table around 8:30 P.M. we sat at the counter. Great experience watching these young men assemble the pizza and bake in their wood fired oven. We had the "Gus" with mushrooms , Italian sausage, San Marzano tomatoes (sweet) and cheese. These guys are excellent workers and take pride in what they do. The pizza was done to perfection. Nice crisp crust on the edge with just a slight char, thin crust, piping hot and tasty. Filling our appetite, but not overstuffed Perfect ending to a fun night at the Arboretum. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Great pizza and patio

By AGEtraveler |

First, a disclaimer. Cane Rosso serves up Napoli-style pizza, which means that the crust is thin and gooey in the middle, and is best eaten folded over or with a fork and knife. My wife and I traveled to Italy earlier in 2015, and believe that this is very similar and tastes authentic. But if you're expecting and hoping for New York style pizza with a firm crust, you may be disappointed. I've eaten at both locations in Dallas multiple times and the pizza and salad are always consistently excellent. Great and inexpensive wine list too. The White Rock location has a large and fun patio. Tip: ask for the honey badger pizza sometime. It's not on the menu but is awesome. Has honey and spiciness all in the same bite.

Napoli meet Dallas!

By Desserty |

I love Neopolitan pizza - when the crust is crunchy with some chew, ingredients are fresh and it is hot. Il Cane Rosso (The Red Dog) does pizza right. The pizza is big but I did not have any difficulty eating it all - it was really, really tasty. Il Cane Rosso is in a hip/quirky part of Dallas, Deep Ellum, close to the Farmers Market with indoor and outdoor seating. It has a great vibe though not a whole lot of scenery to take in. I recommend going in off hours - I had brunch and did not have any parking problems. It did take awhile to get service and food came out somewhat sporadically - but it allowed time for conversation and to enjoy the day.

Loved It!

By Laura L |

Great atmosphere and not your run of the mill pizza. Some of the best I've had. We went on a busy Friday night and it did get very loud but service was not lacking. I liked the Caesar salad because it was not drenched in dressing. They added fresh parm cheese which was the perfect touch.

Great pizza

By Jay C |

My kids took me to this place to try their pizzas and we loved it! They have a different way to cook, over wood fired coals but very hot-1000 degrees. It only takes 90 seconds to 2 minutes for it to be done.Could have been more topping on it but it was very good.

great pizza

By SAMAGILL |

The place has lots of room and also outdoor seating for nice weather. The pizza is one of the best in Dallas. Prices aren't too bad and wait staff is on the ball.

Fun night out

By Andy H |

This was The place has a great atmosphere. Good place to hangout with friends and get some good drinks and pizza. We sat outside, didn't have that long of a wait, but it was nice to chill outside and have a couple of drinks before dinner. We got a bunch of different pizzas, and all were good. I would have preferred a slightly crispier bottom crust, but it's NY style so you fold it.

Hidden Gem

By SCarson2015 |

This location is nice once you locate it on the upper level behind the shopping center. The open space is warm and the outside space is cool (lots of trees) with plenty of parking. I love their house dressing (perfect for 'dipping' the crust in since we're not allowed to ask for ranch - ha!) and the ladies at the office call this 'crack' pizza because it is so addictive.

Best Pizza

By NicoleHT |

My husband and I spent Saturday morning walking around White Rock Lake and stopped here for lunch afterwards. Best decision of the day! The place was pretty empty when we got there (11:30 on a Saturday) but started filling up as we left. We shared a Cesar salad (the small) and a pizza. The salad was huge! We were concerned we ordered the wrong one but the waitress assured us we had the correct salad and said the large salad feeds 3-5 people. The salad was excellent. The pizza, we got the prosciutto and arugula. AMAZING. Can't say enough good things about the high quality ingredients and excellent execution. We got a side of balsamic dressing to dip our "pizza bones" (the crust) into but it didn't need it. Everything was top notch. As we were leaving we saw someone order foccaccia and we can't wait to come back and try it!

Overpriced and overhyped

By Norm G |

Cane Rosso is OK, but I just don't understand why people say it's the best pizza they have ever had.

hidden gem

tucked up in a shopping center off of Gaston and grand by white rock lake. Great outdoor patio space that is popular with those with kids earlier and those with cocktails later. Food is excellent as is the service. This is high art pizza - but not lots of weird crap on it pizza - fine ingredients, unique flavor pizza. Cant go wrong with apps and deserts as well!

Outstanding in every way

We ate here with family and were impressed. We ordered salad and two were enough to serve 6. Their pizzas were great. We ordered the sweet bas.....d pizza and although I was skeptical, it was excellent. Couldn’t imagine pizza with honey but I was amazed. Service was excellent and our server, Rodrigo, explained each pizza and made our visit even better. They have outside and inside dining. We will be back.

Yummy!

Best pizza in Dallas, love the antipasto, and the marshmellow nutella pizza, service is excellent, their oven is beautiful and the atmosphere is sweet!!

Not to miss!

Everything was fabulous. The food was excellent--the pizza, the appetizers and the dessert. We'll be back.

Yum!!

My family (two teens and Hubbie), had dinner here last week. Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining. Wonderful pizza with freshly made sauces, cheese, and toppings. Different than our usual pizza, probably more what you'd find in Italy. We all LOVED what we had! Would definitely recommend! Husband had the Cane Rosso, son had the Zoli, and my daughter and I split the Emma.

Great Neapolitan pizza

By slh2012 |

If there's a 4.5, I'd give a 4.5 out of 5. It's pretty good! music is not too loud at the back, thank goodness! But at the front room, it is loud. Pizza was brought first kind of cold :-( yuk! Had to ask the waitress to heat it up, and she later returned with a new plate of pizza and it was hot out of the oven. Antipasti were great! Salad (Mista) was awesome with just the right amount of dressing and a huge portion. Wine is overly priced. Tiramisu is unbelievable! I'm a dessert person and can be very picky. This is one of the best I've ever had, very or almost very delicate, just right, perfect! Nice setting and deco. Overall, a good experience.

Neapolitan style done well

Thin crust, high temperature, select toppings. Oh yeah. And a bar seating arrangement so you can watch the whole process if you want to. We started with the salumi misti followed by a Gus pizza. These dishes had things I can't pronounce and can't explain, but the servers are very friendly and willing to tell you what they know, which is a lot. The salumi misti has meats, cheeses, olives and some bread, and we enjoyed mixing and matching and I saved some of these delicious appetizers to add to my pizza. This trip we sat where we could watch the pizza making and cooking process and both of us felt like we were a choreographed dance, very cool. And they pour some terrific local brews :)

Fantastic

Great food and great service. My wife and I ordered the large salad and the large pizza. The salad and pizza were fantastic.

Just ok Pizza

I came here after reading a review that said it was not only the best pizza in Dallas, but also better pizza than someone had tasted (including NY Pizza) Super friendly staff. Really quick on getting the pizza to you. I ordered the Margherita Pizza with artichoke added. Maybe the pizza was a little too quick. My Margherita Pizza came with one - yes, one leaf of basil. When I asked about it, I was told, "yah sometimes the Margherita comes with only a few leaves of basil - again, only one leaf of basil. I tried the pizza anyway and the crust was not quick cooked. This was confusing since the top of the pizza was slightly burned. I finally asked if they could fix the pizza. They very nicely gave me a new pizza with plenty of basil and the crust was cooked. I believe this is how it was supposed to come. I wasn't blown away. It was "ok" pizza, not nearly the best I've had. Wonderfully nice staff however.

Fleas? Chiggers?

Sat at an outdoor table last week. Had Caesar salad and pizza. Throughout the meal, I had bites on my ankles and hands under the table. Finally moved inside. A week later still have bad bites and itching. They really need to fumigate. Pizza was ok. Chewy. I used to love their Caesar salad, but this time the dressing was really bland. No pizzazz. Asked for anchovies. Got two.

Great Pizza!

We had our sons wedding rehearsal dinner last weekend and was very happy with the food, service, cleanliness, staff assistance! The margarita pizza is the best! Also the appetizers and dessert pizza, particularly the s’mores, delicious! Great place.

Disappointing,

I saw that Cane Rosso is rated No. 1 for pizza in Dallas so had to try. Our pizza was soggy and tasteless. The Caesar salad had good, fresh greens but the dressing was.... weird! This is not the best pizza in Dallas. in fact I can think of two pizza places in the same general area that are much, much better. Most chain places are better.

Great specialty pizzas

By Tlcwacjac |

Really good specialty pizzas with very fresh herbs and vegi's. also the meat pizzas were really nice. A bit of spice on all of the pizzas we tried. My wife and I and our 2o something son and his 30 something cousin enjoyed 4 different pizzas. All were great.

Best Pizza in Dallas

Pizza debates can be very touchy. Thin, thick, doughy, crispy, etc... All that aside I will make the claim that Cane Rosso makes the best pizza in town. Good selection of specialty pizzas plus build your own. Good wine selection and great local brews. Salads are also excellent. Just an over all fun place.

Great salad

From very friendly service to awesome atmosphere to great food, this place was spectacular. We split a small salad (not so small) and then split a pizza. It was the perfect amount of food.

Best Pizza

Ordered a a straight forward pepperoni because the kids were with us. It was great, crust, sauce and all! Also had fried mozzarella and the burrata. All delicious! Good service and great ambiance. Definitely recommend it for pizza lovers.

Easy lunch..

Great location and great food. Salad are big and the half portion will feed 2. All the pizzas and delicious and the only place my 9 year old eats the crust, that is a major accolade in itself. Not crowded on a Saturday for lunch and the service was great as well. Don't forget the dessert of hot donuts in a bag of powdered sugar. OMG! Save room!

Calling it "pizza" is an insult

This goes beyond any pizza I've ever had in my life. Friend of mine ordered us the Honey B*st*rd (that's right, that's what it's called and TripAdvisor requires it be censored. HA!) Sweet and spicy, a pizza combination I wouldn't have ever thought to try before. It was amazing. The crust was slightly doughy and chewy (my favorite texture), not burnt and dry like so many places. The middle is almost soggy-seeming since it is technically a soft thin crust (but it wasn't actually soggy), so it's recommended you use a fork to assist with the first bite of each slice. My yoga studio is right next door, and it's a fight to not order the Honey B*st*rd to go every day after yoga.

Good pizza & great service

We were looking for a place to take the grandkids for pizza near White Rock Lake and discovered Cane Rosso. We walked in with an infant and 2 year old at 6:45 on a Saturday. The place was humming, but we only waited 10 minutes before being seated. They are very well-versed in serving families, especially those with young children, as we were expertly accommodated. Booster seats and highchairs are at the ready. Our drink order came out quickly following the menus. Our waiter was excellent! Very efficient, and perfectly dialed into the timeframe associated to dining with a two-year-old. This is a knife and fork style of pizza, and they explain that if it's your first visit. If you like to pick up your slice, you will definitely need to fold it in order to ensure the toppings remain on the thin crust. Thin crust is our favorite, but this is not crispy. Excellent selection of local brews, and others from across Texas and elsewhere. Bottom line: Great family dining experience, excellent service and the pizza is pretty good too!

Not authentic as they say

By Rebecca K |

This place doesn't meet the hype. The pizzas aren't cooked through, the dough is still chewy an the pasta doesn't have enough flavor. With all that said, do not send your money there. Service isn't the best either and it smells like sewage outside, so definitely a no.

We've been twice in one week!

Saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We enjoyed our meal so much the first time that we ordered the same thing again. Took a large crowd the second time and everyone's food come out exactly as ordered in a timely fashion.

Great Pizza

Our colleague recommended going here and I'm glad we took here up on this. This restaurant had plenty of seating. The food was great and the service was good. I'll stop by here again the next time I'm in town.

Great pizza and atmosphere

Great place and with the weather cooperating, our outside table experience was awesome. We had the pizza special of the night and it was delicious. Cool place all around.
