On Monday 7/3/2023 I went to Cantina Catrina Restaurant with my husband and two daughters. We travelled from Hialeah to Dadeland Mall because we wanted to try Catrina salad again, one of the dishes in its menu. This is our secund visit to this restaurant and the first one was back in February this year. That first visit we tried this salad, and it was delicious, and the service was very good so the tip of 18% was worth it. This secund time the service was terrible, we were disattended for a while until we could order. The restaurant was empty, only three tables were with customers, and we did not feel the same atmosphere as our first time. The host took us to the table, but without enthusiasm so, we do not feel welcome as we felt the first time. We ordered the salad that was in the menu thinking that we would eat the delicious salad we ate before. I ordered my salad with chicken and my husband ordered it with beef. But we were surprised when the salads arrived at our table. The salad was an average Caesar salad you can get at any restaurant, like Denny’s, for half the price. The salad had no toppings other than just lettuce, dressing, and tortilla chips. It had none of the delicious toppings that the salad we had ordered many months before had. Apart from that, the chicken the salad came with was hard and rubbery, and it also didn’t have flavor to it. It wasn’t season correctly at all. When we asked the waitress about the salad, we were expecting to eat she said that the menu had been changed this day and the Catrina salad we ate before was not in the menu anymore. I was very disappointed at that time. Because originally, I had ordered the ceviche Cacun and the waitress said this was new plate as well and they did not have any dish that had fish at that moment so, I ordered the salad, and it was a disaster as I mentioned. At that time, I did not eat anything. When the bill came was a total of $107.56 including the charge of 18% of tip. My daughters ordered tacos Birria de Res and two sodas. My husband and I ordered salads and drank water. The dessert was a brownie with ice cream. I don’t know who had the brilliant idea of taking the Cantrina salad off the menu. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anybody, and I do not came back again.

Great family friendly restaurant. The server was very nice and brought my kids play-doh to entertain while we waited for our food. Loved the theme and food was great. Will definitely return soon !

After an annoying drive I found the most refreshing beverage, amazing tacos and a super friendly bartender. What an awesome experience.

Lovely food, service was a bit slow but other than that friendly staff, recommend the place if you haven’t been yet, They also managed to squeeze us in as we hadn’t booked and it was busy, probably why it was a bit slow.

So, about 2/3 months ago, I went there’s with my friends and grabbed some drinks and have a really good time. But when to come back in August I could feel since the moment I got there that they didn’t like me, especially the manager (or at least he looked like it) I order some food like usual and came late, not done probably and it wasn’t good. When I told the waitress about it she took it back to the kitchen and the manager told not to cause of my looks. I got real mad and left I got the most degrading shouted at me from the bar on my way out. DON’T RECOMMEND.

Amazing place with great fresh food, child friendly, nice ambiance, and outstanding service. It took seconds to take my order and have everything ready.

Cute little place in dadeland mall with happy hour from 4-7, food is very good and the margaritas are awesome! Will definitely be back 👏🏼

Small menu, service is ok, new restaurant, great drinks and desserts, chips served when you first sit, wings are very good, mid price most over 12 and $20 per dish. No Chimichangas, tacos are very small, like the order of 3 fit in your hand. Wooden tables and chairs. No Fries nor burgers nor pizzas. Tight space, small tables and bumping to near tables, difficult parking areas ,some construction, located in 2nd floor

Really? Did they included a service charge of 18% and Cynthia the server said it wasn’t tip, expected to double dip on it? Catrina “No bueno” están mal con ese pensamiento.

Las bebidas son muy muy delicoso. I had a great time with my friend. The spicy marg was so yummy. The service was very quick and easy.

Alejandra was our server and she was excellent. I will always return not only forceje good but great service!

The place looks very nice the set up is really nice. BUT THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE! Has no taste at all and pricey. I love Mexican food but I will never ever eat here again. On top of everything you get charged an 18% gratuity for service thats not even all that. I had to send my plate back two times because they couldn’t get it correct. So...... beware you have plenty of things to eat that is way better for your buck.

Horrible place to eat. Beautiful atmosphere that’s it. No service everything thought internet including your credit card. We ordered Margaritas we got Juice no tequila and we pay $10.00 each. No one to complain servers past by you like airplanes no stop we were so disappointed we wanted to leave asked for a glass of water never came. So we paid and as we were ready they show up with the water .What a terrible way to celebrate any occasion.will not spend my $$$going back . At the tine the restaurant was half empty no reason for no service

Delicious food, excellent service. I ordered the beef/shrimp fajitas and they exceeded my expectations. The margarita was also on point.

Terrible food and drinks. Don’t waste your money. Took 5 minutes to get greeted and seated despite no one being in line ahead of us. Our waiter didn’t speak English and we had to use Google translate. Tried to order a hibiscus margarita. Waiter said they did not carry that type of margarita but it was on the menu. I ordered a passion fruit margarita instead and it was watery and it came with jelly beans?! We ordered the Al Pastor tacos and carnitas tacos. The order took forever to get. The Al pastor tacos were skimpy on the meat and were dry. The waiter told us about the same time the first tacos came out that they didn’t have the carnitas tacos and asked if we wanted to order something else figuring it would be a priority because we had already waited for our order. We ordered the lechon carnitas. While waiting tables were left unclean despite the manager and servers standing around the front desk. After waiting and waiting almost 2 hours in total we asked for the second order to go. We tried to eat them later at night but they were super fatty meat and were dry. We threw them out. The manager never came by the tables and never apologized for the delay. The bill automatically gives an 18% gratuity. I tried to clarify about the gratuity and he said it went to the kitchen staff not him so I added a separate tip for him. Not sure if he was being sly or just didn’t understand me due to the language barrier. They quickly show you the bill on screen while your server is holding the iPad which doesn’t give you time to really review. Do not waste your time or money going here. Poor service and bad food and drinks

It is a nice TexMex Restaurant. Order the Nachos and quesadillas, huge portion but good quality of food! The Service was good and the food arrived quick!

This is a new "Mexican" restaurant in Dadeland Mall. Why must Mexico now be represented only by Day of the Dead. The decor is cute, but so stereotyped. Our waitress, Sasha, was the best, very attentive and helpful. We started with the margaritas - beautiful to look at and, ok. I was surprised the frozen drink had ice cubes in it. My friend had vegetarian enchilada verdes with a side order of rice (enchiladas are served without rice and beans). She enjoyed. I tried the chicken fajitas and, frankly, was disappointed. It was simply a grilled, not marinated chicken breast, then cut up. It was good, but not fajitas. I also think the three small (I would have liked another one) were not flour, but white corn. Keeping with the Day of the Dead theme, the bill comes in a little coffin, complete with a skeleton - the prices are not that scary! Is it authentic Mexican? No. Is it ok, yes, it's just about ok.

Food and service was ok. But 18.00 % service charge doesn’t go to their servers but the business owners. The server asked me to leave her tips but there was a service charge included that she said it goes to the restaurant. That’s basically stealing from the servers.

Bartender was fantastic. He was happy to help out my friends and I with drinks and food for an early happy hour outing.

Late last year my wife and I with a couple friends dropped in to try this place. It was great. Most recently [in September 2020] we dropped by again. What great last year was really the opposite this year. To be sure everything has changed however the quality of the food was really disappointing this time. What I order was essentially tasteless. The manager dropped by my table and asked my wife and me whether things were good. Since we had just got our food I said "fine...fine.' Unfortunately that turned out not to be the case. I think we will give this a pass until the panademic is essentially over.

In here, you get a printed menu and have to scan a code to order and provide your credit card up front, then when you finish, complete the payment transaction. It is a real shame that with the delicious food they serve, in good sized portions and at prices that match quality and quantity, the service is so slow. I think the fact that you are charged up front 18% for service does not motivate employees to provide good service. I do not think I will be returning anytime soon

We had an excellent night at this new restaurant inside the Dadeland Mall here in our beautiful Miami. Here are the reasons why; Our waiter was formidable, attentive, helpful, efficient, and so nice. The Guac with truffle oil was the BEST Guac I have had in my life!!! The margaritas were different and tasty. The inside decoration of this place was on point. The sandwich and tacos were yummy!! The ambiance was outstanding. The service of everyone was wonderful. Thank you for a great night at your place!

Family friendly place, delicious Mexican themed restaurant bar. Hostesses are friendly and efficient, they are right there fo help you.

Nice environment. But the food is not close to authentic Mexican. Enchiladas have no taste. Neither does the carne asada. The meat has no taste no seasoning. If I do come back. I’ll bring my complete seasoning container with me.

On Friday we visited the place, its concept is very nice and original, the mojito and the food are delicious! The attention from Marta is good, the only thing that seemed absurd to us is that they charge 20% of the service that she mentioned, nothing is for her, only the extra tip that is added corresponds to her, at the end of the day you end up paying double "Service".

Love it, its good. I like the way they attend you. They have really good foods! I recommend! It was my first time but it was good

Being here twice, before COVID. Visited this weekend. My friend looked at menu on line and was hooked on the cucumber margarita and some of the food. The menu at the restaurant didn’t have either one. The guy mentioned that it is a Smaller menu so we said ok. We Ordered margaritas they were ok. The guacamole was good, didn’t care for the cheese sauce w chips. The food took about 1 hour at least. The carne asado tacos were the first to arrived. They were 4 small tacos with the beef nothing else, no sides at all. My friends ordered 3 chop chicken salads and a quesadilla And one of them was without the greens just the rice and meat etc. well the salads like I said took over 1 hour, super bland no dressing or taste same with the chicken super bland and the quesadilla barely had chicken. My friends said it tasted like the sides they bring with the fajitas, no taste. The waiter Kept saying he was sorry. We didn’t say much we understand things are rough but omg never again. Decor was super cute. So disappointed

Excellent place, very good atmosphere and quick service. Rubén was our waiter, very professional and friendly. We will surely return.

Horrible night and service, but the worst part was the unhelpful manager. We went there and ask for a table there was one hour thirty minutes wait, we did not mind and were lucky to get a couple of seats at the bar, Done that before. We order our food and a couple of drinks. They brought my wife food and after asking many times about my order, they did not have a good answer, different stories from different people, at the end we cancel my food maybe 25 minutes trying to understand and wait, we finally asked for the manager and when he arrived at the end all. he said if you want I can prepare the tacos for you., what a sad way to manage this coming from the manager. poor poor management

no plates for dinner, I guess you have to eat the tacos with everything falling on the table. Tacos are ok but are bland without any kick to them, Guacamole also very bland and tasteless. Went to bathroom and no water in faucet to wash your hands, this is the only thing legit in copying cheap restaurants in Mexico, The margaritas were excellent.

Cute decor, close to our hotel within walking distance , Nice placeNice place would stop in again when in the area Was nice clean place very efficient

So amazing wow! I love! Delicious. Great margaritas, it’s so good and fresh and delicious. The chips and guacamole were delicious.

Everything at Cantina Catrina was great :) Our server was so nice and attentive. Most definitely will come again with friends and family

Excellent Atmosphere, attention and food Excellent, the place is very Clean and a lot of variety of Tequilas.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the delicious food, and had a great service! My server, Maria Jose, was very extremely helpful in making selections!

I had so much fun going with my coworkers after a long day. The food and drinks were awesome! Come enjoy and have fun!

drink was amazing!! highly recommend coming here and ordering the strawberry lemonade agua fresca!! my friend got the spicy margarita and also loved it!

Today was Taco Tuesday! Therefore Tacos were half of a price. My husband ordered Carne Asada Tacos, and I ordered baja fish tacos. The order comes with 5 tacos which size is good enough. The beef taste was fine but a little greasy. The green salsa flavor was delicious. I recommend the Taco Tuesday and the happy hour on Monday's because the restaurant has 2x1 on selected drinks.

The best experience and services , server Alejandra is the best, the food super good , the drinks were amazing. We will definitely comeback

I did not enjoy the ordering system at this restaurant. You have to order through an app on your phone and they bring out the food. No server contact at all. No one came by our table to ask if everything was ok. I was so unhappy with their ordering system , that my entire experience was not a good one. The restaurant had a nice decoration , this is the only positive that I can share on this review.

Horrible management, no lime??? In a Mexican Restaurant?? Is not te first time we had experience the horrible management, Poor waitress is not her fault. Poor tequilas, sad sad. Went back because a friend of us was there

Went there for the first time and the best thing was Carlos and Ecuatorian kid with the right attitude , food was good but took a little time to get One one the dishes, and also a bit late with a drink. But the Salsa the Carlos prepared was excellent Nachos were good but I like the Carne asada tacos . Overall a good experience, we will be back but 👏👏👏👏 for our waiter . Good Margaritas and a drink with Mezcal that I don’t remember the name but it was good

The food was good for the most part. We did have to return one dish to the kitchen and one drink to the bar. The service wasn’t very good. We all ate at different times because the food came out at different times. When we received the bill we couldn’t believe it! We were charged an 18% service fee and the waitress told us that was not part of the tip! What the hell is that all about?!?! We asked to speak to the manager and he said that the money would be used to cover part of their salaries! Tip would be additional! What?!?!? We eat out all the time, this has NEVER happened to us before. Disbelief! Will never eat here again! NEVER! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Went out with the wifey and try this place out nice cool margaritas and great mezcalitas the food is fantastic. Good service

Cantina Catrina Dayland Mall January 14, 11:00 am Attractive restaurant, very appropriate design, love the manikins pretending to be customers. The restroom was immaculate. There was only one of the customer at the time. I asked for a flour tortilla substitute instead of corn- was told it could be substituted but when the enchilada arrived I realized it was still corn. The nice Spanish lady did not come back to check on me but I was able to flag her down after about 10 minutes and reminded her about the flour tortilla I had requested. She was nice enough to admit it was her fault and quickly took the plate back. Luckily I was not pressed for time. I had asked server to leave the menu but she took the menu away? The food was average at best. The sauce was tasty. There was very little chicken in the chicken enchiladas. Worst of all only plastic utensils. If I want to eat with plastic utensils I’ll eat at Taco Bell, not pay $15 for a lunch entrée plus an already included 18% gratuity. The final bill is very misleading. When she shows you what your total is on the iPhone screen part of the screen gives you an option of leaving various percentages of tips. Underneath that there’s a bar that says “NO TIP”…. It does not say “NO TIP As the amount shown already reflects an added on gratuity of 18%…

The place is super cute! Love the vibe! I love the cute sign that said tequila is happy water for fun people

Excellent service. Alejandro was very friendly and got out order right. The food is excellent and reasonably priced! Family friendly!

The food is okay, the truffle corn guac is not bad the tampiqueña steak is a bit overpriced. The steak was really good but the sides are average. Our waitress was extremely friendly and treated us very good however they only had her and another person on staff so service was slow.

Super loud. Slow service. The driest Tres Leches you can think of. At least the flan was ok. And the quesadillas were acceptable. No need to repeat.

Food taste horrible, birria tacos really bad. Maria the general manager is the worse manager ever. She is careless and she doesn’t care about employees. Camilo the server was good.

We sat at the bar and the bartender had no clue at what to do. Yes! The pretty girl. She did not even offer water or chips. She spent her time laughing and chatting with her friends and coworkers at the end of the bar. The margaritas were watered down and terrible. The food was mediocre and lacking qty for the price. Service in general was bad and slow. Our pretty bartender was not even trying and its only us sitting at the bar. 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check for the terrible service. Read the other reviews! It sums it up correctly. Bad place. Don’t recommend and will not be back

Good texmex mexican food. Located at dadeland mall. Order the Lobster tacos and guacamole corn. The enchiladas are good too. They have tecate beer

Fantastic food and decoration. The service was also special, thanks to Natalia! We fully recommend it and loved the tacos and the queso fundido.

Excellent options, very good service from Alejandra and the entire staff. We will definitely return.

My husband and I went today, and I was Taco Tuesday! This, Tacos were half of a price. We ordered Carne Asada Tacos, and baja fish tacos. The order comes with 5 tacos whose size is good enough. The beef tacos was fine but a little greasy. The green salsa flavor was pretty good.I recommend the Taco Tuesday so that you can try the tacos. Likewise, I recommend the happy hour on Mondays because the restaurant has 2x1 on selected drinks.

We decided to try this restaurant and made reservations. The hostess was friendly and sat us promptly. The waiter attended to us quickly and ordered drinks and appetizers. When our drinks arrived they were watered down and not very flavorful. Upon our appetizers( guacamole and queso) arriving we asked our waiter for plates and silverware he brought some and threw them rudely. Our appetizers were absolutely terrible, the guacamole tasted like it came from a can and the queso was like cheese whiz. At this point decided not to continue with entrees as everything was so bad from service to food. On the topic of service, there is an automatic 18 percent which I discussed with the manager as our waiter was extremely poor. Jose the manager was friendly and understanding of our situation. I definitely would not recommend this establishment.

Excellent place to share with the family. The service received by Alejandra was exceptional!!! Very professional and friendly with extensive knowledge of the menu.

I came here for brunch with my boyfriend and we got passion fruit and classic margaritas bottomless for $15. We also got the huevos rancheros and Mexican chorizo burrito. The manager Alfredo came by to our table and introduced himself and offered his service. Everyone is super kind and we also got a complementary margarita shot for doing this review. Shout out Hannah, our server, she was incredible!

Be aware that mobile credit readers in this restaurant include a nondisclosed service charge of 18% before the subtotal adding after the total a minimum of 10% tip to the bill on top of the 18 percent that is not disclosed in the digital card reader. Do not allow this scam to happen to you

Very beautiful and pleasant Mexican restaurant inside the Dadeland mall. Beautiful decor and excellent food.

Christian provide us a great service, was it here every single time we need him, need to keep people like him around, very clean place as well

I regret have gone there. Found two hairs on my coctel. They brought main dishes ahead of entrees. Never brought my shrimps tacos.

We decided to choose this restaurant to take our son to dinner, as part of a tradition. We always take him to a restaurant of his choosing the night before he goes away for college. Also, we have visitors from Mexico staying with us for a few days. The facilities are brand new, nice to the eye, beautiful decoration, and good ambient. The service is actually less than poor. The waited kept forgetting our drinks, bringing one by one over about 25 minutes. The food took for ever (about 45 minutes to arrive), and also started coming to our table one by one, not all together for all of us start eating at the same time. By the time all our food was at the table, the first ones that arrived were already cold. The food was decent but no more than that. I definitely would not come back because of the food. The menu is limited and certainly not authentic. To be honest, it was an odd experience as well. We had about 3 different managers coming to ask us if everything was ok, and it did not matter that we expressed our concerns, another one came asking if everything was ok again. I imagine that communication is an issue. We do not plan to come back to this place.

The service is terrible, the food is terrible, I would never recommend this nothing to anyone. The chicken was hard & no flavor

Definitely recommend trying out the strawberry margarita along with the esquites for an appetizer. Staff was very warm and welcoming.

The restaurant environment is very nice, the Mexican food is good but the waiting time is so long and the service is slow.

Amazing vibe, has a great look about it with authentic food and drink options. Great place to bring the friends and family.

Love the atmosphere, right from the start walking in to be received you are granted with Mariachis! Service is friendly and the Food Exelente, great place to have drinks, spend some great quality time with your love one.
Great vibes
Cool spot in Dadeland Mall, great vibes. Cynthia the server took care of us and did an awesome job!!
